Awesome dessert shop located in downtown Ottawa! I can honestly that was their hot chocolate was the best I’ve ever had. The temperatures as perfect, the taste was amazing and it was topped with whipped cream! There were also so many options of cakes and I tried the Oreo one which was very good.

Food is good, my friends ordered different cakes and everybody was happy with their choices Staff in the cafe are nice and welcoming BUT: the reason I am only giving 3 stars is the guy that answered the phone! I called few days before my friend's birthday to book a table for 8, he made me feel I am asking for a favor! he barely answers quesitons and with a word or 2! I felt unwelcomed but I said to myself maybe I am getting the wrong impression.. I called few days later to order a birthday cake and same very annoying guy picked up and I was told I can buy it from them but I can't serve it at the cafe!! I was so surprised cause i am coming to celebrate my friend's birthday would obsiouly need to serve the cake then! anyway I realized later (and am guessing here) that a piece or cake is 8.50-9.00 dollars and thats why they want ppl to order seperatly so total would be more money than to get one full birthday cake! so greedy! anyway.. then i asked what would i do? should i bring a cake from outside?!! the same rude guy answered with extreme rudness! he said why do u think u can bring a cake to a cake shop! and laughing and asking me if am serious!!!!! I said "I really find u rude! u r telling me i cant order a cake from you and serve it at my friend's bday and I can't get a cake and basically u r laughing at me in my face!!" such a rude guy, I wish I had the time to find somewehre else but i had arranged the surprise with my friend and my other 7 friends.. the 2 times i called it was late in the morning (around 11;;00 AM) during last week. other than that again, when we went, I think the rude guy was not there, food was good and staff at the cash and serving the desert were very nice.

I choose 3 desserts, red velvet, caramel and peacan cheesecake and a coconut / lemon cake. It is question of personal taste but I did not like the red velvet since it had a layer of cherry jam, I think, which really gave it a weird taste. But it is a nice place to grab a coffee and dessert.

This is a great date location! The cake is a bit pricey ($9/slice) but the slices are huge and you could definitely share a slice between two people. Great atmosphere in an intimate setting. In the summer they open up into a patio-like setting as well, and there is artwork for sale on the walls which is unique.

Excellent choice of desserts. I'm not a coffee drinker, but my wife loves their coffee and their tea. The portion size of their cakes is fairly large so be prepared to share. It may seem a little expensive but like I said, the portions are large and very much worth it. Edit (May 2021): Still great tasting desserts, but they have significantly reduced the portion sizes. I've downgraded my review for that reason and they still charge the same prices.

There's a lot of room for this place to improve. As I would like to see it get better, here's my two cents. Pros: The staff was very friendly The cakes tasted good (a little on the extreme sweet side, but good). My favourite thing is the decoration and vibe. It's kind of European in a way because of the art and layout. Cons: There shouldn't be this many flies in a cafe. Easy to fix. Definitely overpriced drinks and desserts for such small quantity. Worth it? Mmm not so much. You ask for a café au lait, they give you some black coffee and expect you to add your own milk. Mmm that's not really how that's supposed to work, especially if it's more expensive than a black coffee. The next time I went, I just ordered a black coffee for cheaper. Do I recommend? If you're looking for a quiet place to just work or meet with friends, yes. Just keep in mind that it's not that budget friendly.

Decided to get a birthday cake from Oh So Good because we've had a cake from there before and it was good. This time was not. The cake cost $60 and we had asked to have happy birthday written on it, which wasn't. And it was melted? Not sure if that's even what was happening and then it looked like someone ripped out a piece of the bottom. And one top of all that, the cake itself wasn't great. Will not be ordering from here again.

My girlfriend and I came here for cake, left with orgasms. Thank you for the friendly service and amazing staff. We will be back shortly! We loved the atmosphere, and there is very interesting art pieces that draw your attention all around the cafe. We also appreciate that you guys are open late. Perfect for those with aare night sweet tooth, like us. Choosing which ones to bite on was no joke. We finally decided on the strawberry cheesecake and green tea tiramisu, both were to die for. The cheesecake was especially sucaculenat and creamy. The matcha tiramisu was delicately delicious- it was the perfect soft and sweet. We need to find places and cakes like this in the West. Or zero. I wanted to order a cake for my son's birthday, as he requested one from this place. When I called, they said they couldn't take the order, so I had to email. Then a person emailed me back and I was told to make an email transfer first to a personal gmail account, then the order will be confirmed and placed. No other options. When I asked to pay with a credit card that would actually be proof of purchase as well, I simply never got a reply. I had to order a cake from somewhere else. Something is not right with this business... If you want the whole cakes they have, for almost half the price, check Dufflet.com where to buy. There are plenty of locations that you can order them from. That's what I did and now I am happy that they did not respond to me!

Amazing dessert place. The staff is so friendly, the vibe is very creative but also relaxed and the food and drink is very good as well. I came with my aunt on a visit and we had the tiramisu cake, London fog latte and hit chocolate. The drinks were good, but the cake was amazing. Very fresh, not too sweet and the cream used was to die for. It was so good we came back the next day to buy some slices and bring it back to Toronto. Like it was so good we were willing to take the chance of the cake not making it the 5 hour drive, just so we can eat it and home and give to our family Will definitely return

The cakes are really over priced for the quality and size of slices you get. There are places that make their cakes fresh in house (Oh So Good doesn't) who charge similar or lower prices for much larger slices. On top of that, the staff here seem to hate their jobs and I've never felt welcomed by them any time that I've gone, AND I've had them mess up orders multiple times. Really just not worth it and I think they only survive because they're in a tourist heavy area but honestly better off going to the Rideau center and getting a cake from the vending machine there than you are getting cake here.

They have so many different types of cakes and a large variety for those that are vegan and gluten free too. Nice decor and great location. One problem they had was that they have a garage door open so when we were there the smell of cigarettes wafted into the restaurant. A long favourite of ours! Our anniversary is on New Years Eve and every year we treat ourselves to Oh So Good cakes. Some recommendations would be the Oreo cake, blueberry cheesecake and anything coffee. If you get the blueberry cheesecake, sprinkle some cinnamon on top! You won’t regret it.

Worst carrot cake ever. Extremely dry and overpriced. Much smaller than expected and there was an anti mask protest that made us wait 20 minutes to pick up the prepaid cake. I came here with a friend for dessert as it was my birthday. I had the Red Velvet Cake alongside a Mango flavoured Italian Soda. The soda was very delightful and was light and very bubbly. The syrup they used didn't taste artifical and had a very realistic flavour. The cake was moist but dense, which is wonderful for the red velvet cake. The staff was super polite but the business was very packed an busy. It was hard to find a spot to sit and this was on a Saturday night after 10pm. Word of warning for those coming in, they only have one bathroom. With that being said though, hey sure did clean it a lot which was nice to see.

Ordered a full Black Forest cake for $60, and I was expecting a cake 2/3 that size(aka it was much larger than I expected!) It’s a very generous portion of individual cake, great for sharing, and already split and ready to serve! Also, wow it was absolutely delicious. Definitely worth trusting them with all things cake!

Delicious dessert cafe with lots of indoor seating. Wide variety of delicious cakes & cheesecakes made by Toronto's Dufflet's. So yummy. Excellent coffee & wide offering of other drinks to accompany the desserts. Also have many gelato flavours for cone or cup sizes. Quite busy in the evening but lots of seating at the back. Located in the Byward Market area so convenient for tourists and students.

Great location for date night or a coffee and card games hangout. Very tasty pastries, with vegan options, and freshly roasted coffees. The summer opens up the outdoor sheeting, which ties the location into the market well. Definitely a must for cake lovers.

When I saw this spot for the first time I was so happy. There were many kinds of delicious looking cakes. I wanted to give it a try. I got the one with Ferrero rocher and lemon parfait. The quality of the cakes are not good. I couldn't even eat more than 3 bites. I don't really recommend if you are picky.

I had such a positive experience the first time I went on Sunday, that I've been three times this week. The cake is delicious, and there are gluten-free options. Also, the serving sizes are generous so save room or bring a friend who shares well! Their bowls of café au lait are large, and they have unsweetened almond milk! The service was great, too!

If you like chocolate try the chocolate bomb cake. It's like a mousse chocolate. My caramel latte was also pretty good. Love the smell when they were grinding beans while we were there. You could smell the freshness.

The desserts here are amazing, rich and delicious. Nothing much else to say about them. Pair that with one of their cups of coffee or a latte and you are all set. The atmosphere is also very beautiful, it serves as an excellent coffee and dessert house in the heart of ottawa. I'd definitely recommend.

A place that specializes in Puddings and Coffee Cakes are displayed in s chiller cabinet for viewing. You go to the till and lkace your order and pay. After a short wait your order us called out and you collect from the counter. There were a dozen or so items to choose froom. One step up from street level.

Went there from Montréal. Prices are a bit high. Cappuccino, marble cheesecake slice, hot chocolate and a red velvet cake slice for 30$. However it's worth every penny. Atmosphere is nice amd cozy. Paintings on the walls are very much interesting. Staff very friendly too. One of the best experiences I've ever had in a coffee/dessert place. Totally recommand

They have so many variety of cakes! They are Dufflet cakes. They also had gluten free, dairy free options which my friend really enjoyed. The carrot cake which was gluten free and dairy free was so creamy and moist! I had the chocolate truffle cake which was very decadent but not overly sweet. However, It was 9$ for one slice!!! Just for comparison, Dufflet, the company that makes the cakes sell the whole 9" cake for $47....

We stopped in for coffee and a treat. Friendly service and the Baklava cheesecake was awesome. My fiance is a chocolate lover and really enjoyed the gluten free chocolate mousse. They don't have have cold brew coffee so I iced coffee. It was okay but I'm a cold brew fan. I would have given 5 stars if they had a good cold brew. I'll be back for the sweet treats but I'll get my cold brew elsewhere.

Ordered/payed a 60$ cheesecake 5 days in advance to have it for my girlfriends birthday on her special day. When asked to come to the store for pick up had the great surprise that they have given my cake to someone else during the day. Now Im empty handed, 60$ less in my bank and a sad girlfriend. Really really disappointed in the service and how they handled my situation. Only thing said was “im sorry” “we’ll refund you soon”. Even McDonalds give you a consolation price when its THEIR fault. Anyways, as a regular Oh So Good client, I really think I should let you know the poor experience I had today.

Perfectly cool on this warm day, the acai is like sorbet, the granola yum, the cut up fruit n Nutella drizzle n coconut shreds: all excellent! The worker made it really quick for me as I stated I was in a rush but it was still beautiful n deeelicious! Wanna take my cubs there for one! I thought the food wasn't very good. The hot chocolate was little more than hot milk with a bit of flavor, and the cake was dry and not ritch enough, especially for something with "fudge" in the name. The price was higher than it should have been considering the quality, and all this made me a bit disappointed in this establishment. I guess if you just need a dessert and hot drink and don't mind paying over $10 this place is fine, but honestly you'd probably have better quality making it at home.

Cheesecake with strawberry topping tastes quite artificial - which considering the price, is very disappointing. Coffee was too strong with a very bitter aftertaste. Staff is quite young and somewhat disinterested. This is a cozy spot, however the air is heavy and not at all fresh. We did not finish our coffees - see photo. A bit of shame. Neat ambiance though. Note many of these new five stars reviews are from antimask demonstrators who were thrilled to be served indoors unmasked exposing many others. This is one of my favourite desert places in Ottawa. But I have noticed they have cut the portion sizes by half. Very disapointing as it is now what I consider to be expensive for a thin slice of cake, $8 a shot each.

This is my first time going to Oh so good I asked for a large and gave me a small but he then fixed his mistake at no charge which I appreciated. However the cost for a small chai tea latte is a little on the extreme side at just under five dollars when that’s how much it cost me for a large anywhere else. Also I’m unimpressed with the chai tea latte itself maybe next time a little more tea a little less froth I feel like I’m drinking frothy milk with a hint of chai it’s really disappointing

I would give zero stars if I coud. First of all, as soon as me and my friend walked this this coffee shop the employees were giving us dirty looks and whispering things to each other. However, we decided to stay and study since we already travelled far to get here. We decided to order two hot drinks and they came out very bitter and not what we asked for. Considering the fact that we didn't like it we didn't want to cause anything so we just decided it was best for us not to complain. Hours go by, one of the workers comes back and whispers to another employee that theres no laptops authorized after 5. We were very confused because we were studying there for 2 hours and suddenly were not able to use out laptops? Very odd. Anyways, this place needs to really train their employees the right way to speak to customers because that was unacceptable and very uncomfortable.

We came here after strolling the ByMarket at night after dinner. LOVED the variety of cakes on display to choose from. I got the Ferraro Roche Chocolate Cake and my boyfriend got the Chocolate Bomb cake. Both were great, and the size of slice was bigger than I had expected. However, both of us preferred my Ferraro to his Chocolate Bomb slice. Was slightly disappointed to find out the cakes are ordered and not made in house, but this is a minor detail. Was glad to find a place open to late on a week night that had a great selection of desserts and hot drinks.

Lesson learned. I ordered a cake from them for my daughter’s 18th birthday. Paid $60 and all I got as proof was my Interact receipt. In the end they made the wrong cake my daughter doesn’t like chocolate they got paid and I’m S.O.L. If you are looking for customer service you are in the wrong place.

I swung by this location on a few occasions. For the price of the slices of cake it does not live up to the quality. I ordered a cheese cake slice and the server lost a third of my cheese cake when he was cutting and packaging. I saw him throw something away but figured he would grab me a fresh slice if he messed up cutting. I got home and saw 2/3 of cheese cake in a box that cost me nearly $10.00. Another thing that they can work on is there packing. When you do take out from Oh So Good 9 times out of 10 your cakes are crushed or falling apart by the time you get home. The cakes them selves taste decent but not worth the price based on quality.

They gave me a damaged cake on Xmas eve. I did not expect such unprofessional service from this shop which supposedly have high standards. They charged 60 dollars for this pc of cake. When called, there was no response and then I also left an email and still no response. I have purchased cakes from them since 2011 but it stops now. They have lost a loyal customer. Went last Saturday evening...Good cake! Staff and service could be much friendlier and better. What struck me the most is that, while every single business is trying stop covid-19 with simple things. I haven't seen NOTHING NOTHING from their part to prevent it. NO HAND SANITIZER, they serve your cake and you wait in line WITH your cake next to everyone and you have so drop your plate and fork on the cash counter, were everyone leans to pay them. NO RECEIPT was given after I paid. And MOST table do not respect social distancing rules. Not to mention that tables are not necessarily washed after someone has used it. I'm not really picky cause most businesses try their best, but close to NOTHING was done in this case. Not mention that god forbid you get thirsty and want a glass of water. NOT going to happen. Only bottled water are served. No prices for desserts are marked on menu behinds cashes. I find it's a lot of things lined up for us to say we had a good experience.

Do not eat here if you don't want to get sick. We ordered our cake. They were busy; however there was not excuse for what happened. The cashier was handling the money with her hands and plated the cake without washing her hands. She also had long acrylic nails that were digging into the cake icing (no gloves!). Very unprofessional!. We pointed out to her that this was very poor food handling. As customers, we should not have to educate the staff on how to properly handle food. We will never go there again and urge people to be very careful and even avoid this establishment all together.

Cakes not made by them, nor locally. No clear signage or labels on various cakes when I went. When I asked to be run through the cakes verbally, staff was visibly annoyed and told me to narrow down my choice just by looking at them instead. When asked again, he called on another staff and commended him to do the task, following which, he marched away from assisting us. This staff member was also not wearing a mask the entire time, while the other staff member who finished helping us, was following all COVID procedures, including the use of a mask. 2 starts earned for the decent cake and the second staff member who was lovely 3 stars lost for the 1) customer service experience, 2) lack of customer experience planning [clear labels, accessibility etc], and 3) not following community safety guidelines

Truly delicious cakes and pies, good environment, but the place is getting to be a bit older. Not to say it was run down, but it's not as shiny and new like it once was. As an example, the door for the men's washroom was removed. Not sure why. Maybe to dissuade vandalism or homeless people from sleeping in there.... Again, I'm not sure, but I did find it a bit odd. In any case, you're not coming here for the bathroom, you're coming here to willingly take several steps closer to having delicious diabetes, and so far, I have not been disappointed (unlike my doctor).

I have been coming here for a few years and the service is normally fine, but yesterday when I went for coffee and a slice of cake I had asked for a glass of water. They told me that I needed to purchase a bottle of water and were very rude with the interaction. I understand that they may not provide tap water through the pandemic like they had before but I did not appreciate the rude service.

We went there to get 2 pieces of cake and both were small and not very good. This company used to be better but lately it's just not as good. What's more it's quite expensive for what you get. But now what will really never make me return to their business is their support of the anti-vaxx/public health protesters. It's because of people like that that we're stuck in this never-ending cycle of closures. I'll rather support stores that are actually doing what's right and help them get through this. P.s. All those new reviews with 5 stars that are a week old are from anti-vaxx supporters. The cakes are truly horrible, the staff act like they don't care, and this store is really just riding on their past reputation. Don't bother. There are better shops out there.

Last place I went to (celebrating my B-Day) before the whole COVID-19 lockdown thing happened. Sad, boring and depressing place. The cake was overpriced for cakes straight from Costco or frozen cake that you can get from anywhere else. Even Walmart's Tiramisu is 100x better. I purchased the Belgian milk chocolate cake and waited just over a week for it to be ready which wasn't a problem as a was picking it for a special occasion. However when I picked up it was an entirely different cake. It was a vanilla cake which they doused in cocoa powder to cover the fact it wasn't even the cake I ordered and it tasted like something I could have gotten at the grocery store. Naturally, I was upset, I paid 60 dollars and was told to send an email. When we arrived there were dishes on many of the tables despite it being relatively quiet. When we were served we ordered a white hot chocolate and peppermint hot chocolate. From the few minutes of watching the employee working the espresso machine it was clear that she had not been trained well at all. Either their standards are low when it comes to espresso and steamed milk drinks, or their employees are simply not being trained properly. When we finally tried our drinks, they were small and sickeningly sweet. Cake looks good though and the ginger lemon cookie was great.

I have been to this place twice and the first time was absolutely amazing and the cake was so fresh and tasty BUT this time there was a weird taste inside the cake and it was definitely not fresh. I was with a friend and she had blueberry cheesecake which was full of cinnamon that you couldn’t taste anything else. Honestly I feel like I will have a horrible stomachache later on because how the cream tasted like (it literally tasted like plain butter) and how bad the frosting was. I don’t know what happened here but hope they fix it soon. (to be honest I don’t really know why I’m even giving 2 stars)

JUST DON'T GO! Keep go ogling This place is simply not nice. They are very overpriced for desserts that are factory made. Ice cream is 3.50 per scoop and coffee is 2.50 per cup for refills. The server told us to pay the front till and then the front till told us to pay the server. When we expressed our dissatisfaction with the place (nicely of course) the server didn't want to hear it simply stating that she is not the owner. Even after we explained that we are telling her so she can tell her manager. Looks like shes heard it many times before! I would estimate that the person who owns this restaurant is completely disconnected from, if not the restaurant than defiantly the customers. Just keep googling this place is not worth it.

I've tried many of the desserts here, and they've all been absolutely fabulous! The service has also always been great. My only complaint is how expensive it is, although that is no surprise considering the location, and the quality.

Nice cozy place, wasn’t too crowded on a frigid night. The size of the slice of cake is worth 9 bucks. Very decadent and definitely need to be shared. Definitely worth a try if you want some decadent rich cake.
