I had an excellent experience eating here. My server was wonderful and very accommodating. The head chef is extremely knowledgeable, I met him and he shared his cooking ideas and methods with me. I was impressed with how quickly my food came out and the. They are updating the menu in February 2020 and I can't wait to try out the new dishes! The owner also showed me around and even talked to me for a short period.

The food is downright delicious here! The Black Truffle mac and cheese is amazing. The prices are reasonable I would say they are on par with other restaurants in Woodstock. The atmosphere is great here, the exposed brick and industrial fixtures give it a very unique feel and the back of the restaurant has a complimentary design that is more contemporary but still rustic and have art on the walls displaying local history. This is a great place for eating dinner or even just coming for apps and drinks. Oh and they do take out as well so you can get that amazing Mac and cheese to take home too!

I work out of Ironworks several times per week! Their atmosphere, staff and menu are all incredible! Their homemade menu items are so obviously made in house and the quality is next to none. Enjoying a butternut squash soup with coconut shaving and creme fresh topping as I type this. I literally exclaimed 'This is the best soup I've ever had!' (Though their dillpickle and potato is a close second!). A very welcome addition to our community!

I wish I could give a better review but the last couple experience I had here were sub-par. On our last visit we arrived for our reservation at 6 p.m. on a saturday evening and were not given a menu till around 6:20, thankfully in the time between a server (not ours) did bring us some water and reassured us that someone would be with us shortly. The server that came was professional and polite, she was not the problem. The problem was the wait time and my side on this visit. After we ordered, our drinks came out in a timely manor but we waited 30 mins for our food and my side was lukewarm. We ordered a burger and fries, and a vegetarian pasta dish. The pasta and the burger were awesome but the accumulation of the cold fries, wait time, and couple rough experiences on prior visits is what drove the rating down. Maybe my standards are high but we shouldn't have waited as long as we did, it wasn't that busy and we were a table of two that ordered standard entree's. I really feel like this restaurant needs to do some fine tuning on the execution of there meal service. The prices here are on the upper end and it wouldn't bother me if the overall experience backed it up but it seems to fall short. This Place does have a good atmosphere and I really think it could bring something great to the downtown. I would love to come here once a week but I don't plan on coming back for a while. It would be a shame to loose something with such great potential.

I was very disappointed with the food - overcooked and poor quality. The waitress took forever to get our drinks. On the plus side the manager gave us a free round because he realized she took so long to get to us. Maybe it was just an off night... This was last spring when the outdoor patio was just getting started. I'm always willing to give someone another chance - I will edit my review after next experience.

My fiance and I met 4 months ago at Burnt Brick Cafe. When we saw the doors shut we were heart broken but quickly found out that it would be reopening as a restaurant instead. We were eagerly waiting for it to reopen as Ironworks Kitchen and as soon as I received the Facebook notification that it was, I eagerly booked us a table. We came in on a Wednesday and little did I know, my boyfriend was going to propose that evening right in the alley by your front doors. He knew he wanted to do it at this location because it means so much to us. Your facility is gorgeous and it never ceases to amaze us. Even right now, we are here in Ironworks planning out our wedding. Thank you so much for the free wifi and the outlets at every booth- much appreciated! The food is always delicious and as coffee lovers, we appreciate your great selection. Both of us have previous experience in the serving industry and love the great service we consistently get.

First time at ironworks last night. Great atmosphere, was kind of disappointed that we arrived at 830 and the closing time was advertised as 11, and we could only order off of the late night menu, was looking forward to trying a main off of the regular menu. Food was good, service was good, waitress was lovely. Probably won't be a regular spot for us to go as we work late on Saturdays, and go out to eat later on. Late night menu is just app food and a couple burger choices. Chairs were up on the tables and everything was closed up by 10, felt rushed.

My husband and I tried this place for the first time this past weekend. We would never return. The atmosphere is great. The place is beautiful, however the food was awful. We shared a burger and fries and had a beer each. The burger patty was small and dry. It was supposed to have apple and onion and cheese, which you couldn't taste at all. If it was even on the burger there would have been the tiniest amount. The fries were soggy, and they charged us $4 for french fries. We assumed that a burger would come with french fries, but nope. We were charged $18 for a small horrible burger and and additional $4 for soggy fries. So we paid $22 for a terrible burger and fries. Again,.we will not be returning here.

Our table also had some dust on the end (from the reno?). Especially when opening after a lockdown, appearances matter. Overall, had a nice date night here, would recommend!

I really liked the atmosphere of this place. I ordered the Pico de Gallo salad. It was sub-par--mostly lettuce and not much else. The outside of the bowl was layered with chips. It reminded me a little of the taco salad from Hardy's in the states. I would go back...but I wouldn't order that salad again.

Came here on a lunch break with 3 other people and could not have had a worse experience. Waited over 15 minutes to be greeted and we ordered right away. 45 minutes later we still didn't have our lunch and had to get back to work. It was fairly busy but some communication would have been nice! Finally we had to get our meals in take out boxes. Every meal was ICE COLD, meaning it was sitting there for a long, long time. Portion sizes small. On top of that we didn't even have time to eat the sub-par lunch when we got back to work (late) because it took so long to come out. What a complete waste of time and money! I wont even get into how unprofessional the "service" was. We will go literally anywhere else next time.

Friend over from Scotland. Wanted to have coffee and a treat. Had told him what a great place it was. Waited ten minutes with three waiter/waitresses flitting past us with smile but we were still standing at the counter waiting. Three more people came in. Still no one to meet or sit any of us. Finally one of the waitresses said just e a few more minutes. We left. So disappointing. There were seats available. Wouldn’t have minded waiting if we had at least been seated.

This place doesn't deliver. If only the food was as nice as what the interior of this place looks like. Great job on creating a great looking restaurant and atmosphere. Went last night for dinner. The atmosphere was great, and the service was excellent, but the food itself left a little bit to be desired. The prices per dish were on average about $2-$5 more than anywhere else in town for this type of fare, and we just didn't feel that the quality of what we ate merited that. Both of our dishes (Chicken Parm, and "The 1852" chicken burger) were good, but not great. This is a great place for coffee and dessert, or to grab a beer and watch the game (They have a great beer menu), but I would head elsewhere for a full meal.

Great atmosphere and awesome twists on many menu favourites. Good, friendly and efficient servers. Inside the door, enjoy grabbing a coffee or espresso to go. Lunch menus and dinner menus have similar items but a few different ones. I will definitely be back.

I've been here 3 times. The first two times were good, both food and service. I went yesterday and had the seafood burger, which I've had before and I had a very bad reaction. I don't think it's me since I ordered the same dish just a couple weeks before and felt fine. I will be avoiding the seafood burger from now on... very disappointed. I wonder if they used spoiled seafood. Being pregnant too, its extra dangerous fo serve spoiled food to a pregnant woman.

I'm not really sure what to make of my experience at Ironworks on Friday September 6th in the evening time ~ 6:30pm. This restaurant came highly recommended by a colleague and I was excited to try it. My husband and I were spending the night in Woodstock for the first time and I insisted that we try this place. As we arrived, it was very busy and the waitresses were hustling around. No problem, it must be a good place busy on a Friday night. One blonde waitress told us that it would be a few minutes. No problem, I was very excited to try this place. An older white couple came in after us and another waitress told them that it would be a few minutes. Great nothing out of the ordinary. After maybe 10-15 mins, the original waitress who told us it would be a few minutes came over and started to attend to the older white couple (who came in after us) first. She glanced at me and I quickly spoke up saying "for two please ". She then proceeded to sit us at a booth. After a few minutes (maybe 10) the same waitress came over to take our order. We ordered 2 orders of burgers & fries and 2 waters. What happened afterwards was strange and after 22 years of living in Canada, a country which I love and call home has never happened to me before. This is when I mention that my husband and I are both black and were the only black people in the restaurant at the time. We got the usual stares that sometimes comes with being a visible minority in a small town but no problem, we wanted to enjoy our meal. Also I did not want to describe what happens next as a racial issue but I see no other obvious explanation. I would be happy if I'm wrong. After about 30 minutes of sitting and waiting ( after having ordered) no water or food came. The waitress was consistently passing by our table (which was in a sort of central area)serving others bringing them food and drink. I even overheard a table close by order water and wine and observed the same waitress bring the drinks with water about 5 minutes after. My husband and I were confused. Was she waiting to bring the water at the same time as the food? Maybe. However we then observed other (white) people come in after and get served food! I stopped the waitress after she passed by our table for the umpteenth time and asked for water. She apologized and promptly brought us water and said if we wanted dessert, it would be on the house. Okay, bad service but everyone is human, she tried to atone for the mistake. After about another 30 minutes of everyone at the restaurant eating and drinking, it became obvious that our food was NOT coming for whatever reason. We got up to leave and on the way out, I said to the waitress that we left the waters on the table. She said "sorry" but did not seem to mean it, did not seemed bothered that we were leaving and said nothing about our order whether it was coming or almost ready. I questioned if she placed the order at all. In any case, we did not feel welcome and will not be going back. It may not be racism, but we certainly felt discriminated against and seemed to be the only customers at this restaurant so blatantly IGNORED. It's 2019 and I was deeply saddened to be made to feel less than

We ordered takeout last night and what a wonderful surprise! I had the pork ribs which were a special for Superbowl weekend and they were absolutely fabulous. So tender. So flavourful. This was my second time visiting this restaurant. I wasn't wowed the first time and this second visit didn't help improve my take on this establishment. We reserved the private back room as we had a large party. While the decor is lovely, it was utterly freezing and the wait staff didn't have a clue how to turn up the heat. The diet pepsi tastes like soda water (on both visits). My mom's meal was burnt, my dad's burger under cooked and my fish was just meh. It would be nice to support a local restaurant, but this isn't the one to get behind.

Glad to be back for indoor dining. The new chef has not lost his touch and our meal for four was excellent. The poutine was one of the most authentic you can get in the city, and you will definitely will not leave hungry. Word of warning, this not the place for picky eaters or those with dairy sensitivities. Most menu items include some sort of dairy. My only complaint is that the menu seemed a little bare bones (in terms of descriptions and variety). I am excited to return at a later date.

Great Food!!! What a great girls night out. The food was delicious! The the place was packed when we arrived for our 8:30 reservation. It seems that the kitchen was a little overwhelmed with a packed house so our food took longer than it should have. Our server Tara more than made up for the kitchen, we will definitely be back. Will never return! Been there a few times now and love the dill pickle dip, but it has been different every time, then I learned they are removing it from the menu. Asked for a drink menu but they dont have one, orderd a couple entrees but didn't have them either, oh and no dessert menu either. Our servers have always been great but I think Management needs to figure it out. Good thing there's many other great dinner options in Woodstock

Wow! Just wow! When walking into the restaurant you're greeted with friendliness, beautiful calm atmosphere and the smell of astronomical coffee from Early Bird Cafe! The food was just delicious, quickly prepared and perfectly priced! So happy with our experience and the quality of food and service. Will definitely be returning!

This may sound like an exaggeration, but I am simply relating my experience. My meal was the worst I've had at a restaurant that I can remember. Worst two meals, actually, as I tried it twice after giving them the benefit of the doubt that the first poor experience was just a fluke. The food is expensive for what you get, the portion sizes are exceedingly small, and the food itself is bland and uninspiring. It's almost as though they try to be too fancy or trendy with their offerings but forgot that flavour, seasoning, and value are essential components to a great restaurant. Instead, all they've done is merely create an impressive-sounding dish when you read it on the menu and nothing more. The food just really fell short, and it wasn't enjoyable from any standpoint. This is compounded even more after paying quite a lot for meals I truly did not appreciate and didn't even want to finish. I will not be going back.

We went once several months ago for dinner and had a very bad experience, but they were new so we wanted to wait and give them another chance. Last night ate on the patio and 2 of the 3 dishes we had were very bland. I’m not confident that the chef tastes any of the food before sending, the potato Rosti share plate looked great but I don’t think a single grain of salt, pepper, or any other spices were used. Just ultra plain potato. Server was great, really hope they replace the head chef because the location and atmosphere are great, and the wait staff is awesome.

They have done an amazing job with their renovation and bringing back a piece of woodstocks history. I love their fries, perfectly crispy and perfect spices. I had the foundry burger and it was soooooo delicious. I never order regular burgers(always chicken) but this burger was to die for, and their cheesecake in a Mason jar for dessert was amazing. Even our daughter ate her food and she is picky! Good job guys!

I always try to support locally owned businesses. However I will not visit this establishment ever again. I will not fault the service from the waitress nor the food. I mistakenly left left a birthday card unopened on the table. Upon realizing I left it on the table less than five minutes after leaving. I returned to the restaurant to be told by the person (I know the name) who cleaned off the table that only money was left on the table. There was no money left on the table only the unopened birthday card. Which I found out contained a $50 dollar bill this is the most disgusting customer service I have seen. After several calls to this business and only receiving voice mail and no return calls from anyone. I will rethink my decision of supporting locally and these businesses should look at why they are losing business. I work in customer service and this is beyond disgusting.

Four of us went out for our lunch break and waited about 20 minutes to be seen by a waitress after sitting down. She appeared to be the only one working for the entire restaurant and we felt bad for her. We put an order in right away in that first interaction and waited another half hour with no staff interaction. Ended up flagging someone down to ask if we could have our food to go and with bills. The food was cold, mediocre tasting at best. Not worth the prices. Very disappointing experience overall.

The renovations are beautiful. Unfortunately my lunch was disappointing. I had the portabello burger that I could not eat. Staff was very understanding. We weren't charged for lunch and I was given a $25.00 gift certificate that I will utilize on another day.

Used to recommend this restaurant to all my friends, but since being under new management it just isn’t the same. The quality of food has gone downhill, and yesterday I went with a group of girlfriends and waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for our food. Only thing ordered from menu amongst the 8 of us was the macaroni & cheese, philly cheese steaks and one ordered supreme wedges.... and not to mention it was made incorrectly (didn’t have correct cheeses in stock, ordered supreme wedges and got regular fries, one of us cannot eat onions so ordered philly cheese steak with NO ONIONS and they served her onions). Will not be returning to this restaurant. Such a shame.

Service and atmosphere was great. Food was okay. Ribs were tender just over sauced for me. The fish and chips were good, the portion just wasn't big enough for the money of for my bfs hunger. Beer was cold and delicious. Were out of many beers on tap and no beet chips. Would go again for drinks and apps

I’ve been wanting to try this place out for a while now, and I’m sorry that I did! My boyfriend and I ordered a steak, and the Mac and cheese. The fries and sauce on the steak were awesome, but the steak had a ROTTEN after taste like I have never tasted before! My not picky at all boyfriend had one bite of the steak and said it was horrid. My Mac and cheese had literally no cheese on it AT ALL, and there was a pool of grease on the bottom of my noodles. Disgusting, dry, oily noodles. Kraft Dinner is better than this. When this was brought up to our server, she offered us one free dessert in lieu of our uneaten steak and macaroni... no thanks... After more complaints we were able to get the $22 rotten steak taken off our bill, but still had to pay $4 for the fries, and $20 for dry, greasy Mac and cheese. Will not be returning and would not recommend. A shame because the restaurant itself is beautiful.

I was disappointed that my beautiful girl and I biked down there for a nice dinner, only to end up leaving shortly after arriving. Apparently the "late menu" is not inclusive to those who don't consume animal products. (We arrived at 8pm) Happy to see this place is offering plant based options (The Vansittart veggie wrap and vegan chocolate cake was really good), though the prices are a little steep in my opinion. Over $18 for a beyond burger and a side of chips was slightly high, especially when you get 2 beyond burgers for $7.49 at Food Basics. Atmosphere is not recommended for those with sensory issues (loud humans, open to a busy street, several light sources)

The food was fantastic. We decided to have take out for the first time since we've lived here, and they did not disappoint. There was something missing after we brought out food home and they immediately delivered it to us with a dessert as compensation. Excellent service. Excellent food. My family has some picky kids and not one had an issue with their choices.

I've tried to find the best wings in Woodstock for over a year and have finally found them at the iron works. Cooked perfectly and generously coated in delicious sauces. Their Dinner size poutine is also the perfect portion for a big, filling poutine and is one of the best I've had.

This is disheartening to be giving such a low review but the worst restaurant experience was had here the other day and unfortunately they have lost 10+ faithful customers for good. We have been consistent customers to Ironworks before new changes to the menu occurred (about a month before COVID lockdown). The 1/2 off apps where what brought us here so often and we always had the best service and excellent food. As soon as the new menu came into play, the food was very inconsistent in means of quality. We figured it was different chefs because one night we’d have amazing food and the next time the food wasn’t even cooked, no sauce on the wings, etc. We kept giving them a chance but too many chances have been given and they have not proven themselves. Our last time there, we ordered sweet potato fries as a side, the server asked if we wanted the chipotle sauce with it, obviously said yes and simply expected it came with it as any other place it’s just know to come with. Well don’t ever say yes because it’s $2 extra charge just for the sauce ( which the server didn’t bother specifying) + the $3 extra for the upgrade (this was expected). Might as well add the poutine for $1 less. We asked for the sweet potato fries extra crispy as the last time they were cold and mush. When they came out, they were brown and completely burnt. The poutine that someone else order for their side was freezing cold. When we got the bills, one of us paid $30 (included a tip) for a sandwich... absolutely uncalled for. The restaurant did nothing to correct the mistakes made that day. To say the least we are extremely disappointed!! We love supporting local businesses but will go and support another local place down the road from now on.

Love this place :) so happy to see places like this in dow ntown Woodstock. It benefits the whole city and brings up what is (like many others) a downtown core that has been suffering a bit. It makes the area looks so much better especially to those passing through town on highway 2. Had a great meal, fast service, friendly. Love what they've done with the place. Yes prices are higher than chains but it is worth It!!! Realistically you end up spending $3-5 more per plate than the chains.. I would much rather my money go to a small town local establishment that has local and sustainably sourced products than to a chain ! Support local it benefits all of us !!! Sidenote I was over the moon to see that they still carried some more common beers like guiness. Although I love my craft beer, when In large groups it is sometimes hard to go places that only offer craft beer as there are always some people in the group who don't like it. (I had a family member who will ONLY drink guiness and it makes it hard to go to these smaller places sometimes that favour the draft beer scene too much). Once I saw guiness I was sold :p Drink prices a bit higher than other places in town, but I think really its more other places that we will see increase in time not that they need to come down. Relative to larger cities and chains drink prices are in line. Keep it up. Will be back :)
