Fantastic dinner! I had a wonderful and tasty Chicken Souvlaki plate and my friend was very impressed with the thickness of the beef with gravy served with mashed potatoes and carrots. He thought there must have been a piece of bread underneath the meat, it was so thick, and was surprised that there was so much and it was so tender. I have never been here before, my friend has died here many times and called it "a great local dive"... It definitely has a decades-old feel to it but the service was fast and friendly and the menu was fair priced and lots of options. They could have had a bigger beer selection but it was perfectly fine for us, food was excellent we were very very pleased to have eaten here. There are too many chain restaurants and fast food in Woodstock, this was a welcome "traditional food" restaurant.

This really is a hidden Gem of Woodstock. It looks like a dive, its older, a tad run down, but dont let that fool you, their food is amazing. I very frequently get the meatloaf dinner, which is amazing. The only reason I give them a 4 star and not a 5 is that their hamburgers are not the greatest. There is more bun then meat. But otherwise, food is amazing.

Weren't quite sure what we were getting into when we first pulled up to the Chuckwagon restaurant. Came inside to an unusually clean restaurant I've been to higher end restaurants and they didn't even come close to this place. It was very nice and clean Even the window sils were clean! Food was homecooked and quite good. All 3 of us had tasty food. Prices are great and portions ample. Service friendly... Just right. I'm sure my friends and I will be back to try something new off their large menu next time we're in town.

Disgusting overall. There is no other word I can use to describe the culinary experience here. The coffee might be filtered through a jock strap and the peameal bacon is “mystery meat”. Some kind of glued together stuff. The seasoned potatoes was the only thing I could touch.

this was the first visit to this place for my husband and I. We've driven past it so many times and always thought about stopping in. I'm very glad that we did. The prices are fantastic and the amount of food that you get for that price is amazing. Very tasty breakfast and we will definitely visit again for lunch or supper. It was our first time having breakfast at this unpretentious diner, but it won't be our last! The server was great - very attentive to all her tables and very good at keeping my wife's coffee full. The food was ready quickly and was steaming hot - this was definitely not sitting under heat lamps. The food was good and was a great value for the money. By far my favourite place for breakfast. I love it so much I even had my birthday breakfast here once! The breakfast is reasonably priced and the portion size you receive for that price is great. Also, I really enjoy the service here. I do see that they have made updates to the restaurant and I havent been in yet. I do hope they only made cosmetic changes and didn't change the staff!

I'm a long haul cattle hauler here parked at the truck stop since yesterday oh, that's on dancing at the restaurant here at the truck stop but they've been closed since August. Are you sad that every other place out there is serving food and restaurants are open but this place here at the truck stop isn't. So until I made a discovery and found this nice little restaurant called the Chuck Wagon restaurant. I phoned up to ask about the parking situation because I looked at their satellite image on what their area look like seemed to me that I could park up there and sure enough they were right I could park up there with a full truck and trailer. Overall the staff was very super friendly and kind everyone was very happy and pleased oh, I was also very happy and pleased with the food it was very delicious and I am looking forward the going there the next time I come back. For this place and for all the staff I give you guys 5 Stars each. Cooks made some wonderful meals and the lovely waitresses are so nice and kind. We arrived and were greeted friendly all the covid checks and process was done properly. We were seated immediately. Our food and drink waters were taken right away. My father had haddock fish-and-chips 8 oz PC. I ordered the prime rib with mashed potatoes and gravy & carrots. When both started off with a bowl of homemade tomato macaroni soup which was absolutely delicious. My father ordered haddock fish & chips were done to perfection he said. My prime rib was absolutely the best tasting most Tender tenderest prime rib dinner I have ever had anywhere in my entire life. It was cooked to perfection and so tender. The entire experience dinner from soup to main entry was 5 star and above if I could rate them higher than 5 star I would. THIS Restaurant is highly recommended by myself & if you are in the Woodstock area stop in & experience one fantastic meal you won't be sorry.

It was rushed Sunday morning at the Chuckwagon. First time I've ever stopped there, seemed like the place to be for breakfast due to the mass of vehicles in the parking lot. The restaurant boasts nothing fancy, its rough on the outside and rough on the inside, but it definitely gives it a certain atmosphere; simple, homey and down-to-earth. The wait staff made time for pleasant small talk while they were rushing around doing their duties, and invited me to help them out jokingly. They definitely made the roughness of the establishment melt away. The food was a basic breakfast, at least that's what I ordered and saw on their menu. I went for the basic 2 eggs, bacon, toast and home fries with a coffee. Eggs were cooked great, bacon could've been a little crispier (but it's still bacon, come on, right?), the toast was nicely done, a little dry on the outside, and the homefries were mushy and bland. I think finding someone who does a good homefry is the most difficult when it comes to eating out, so what can you do? Nobody complains, they stay the same. Overall it wasn't amazing, but it was a satisfying experience. A place where you can take home a memory and walk out with a full stomach.

I'm actually surprised of the amount of positive reviews for this restaurant, but I respect that many locals are dedicated to supporting a locally owned long-time restaurant. However, being an "outsider" and just a visitor of Woodstock for the day, my husband, friend and I were quite disappointed. We stopped in after reading the reviews and being fans of "hole in the wall" type restaurants, which are usually hidden gems. We personally feel like this restaurant was not a gem, at least not anymore (maybe it was in years past). We were there on a Sunday late afternoon. The service was cold and not very friendly, the prices were high for the food quality, and the place needs a really good cleaning at the very least. We did not have the breakfast so maybe that is what they are best known for and we missed out. What we can comment on was the burger/fries, fish/fries and the caesar salad. All were sub-par quality and nothing to rave about or bring us back. I would be shocked if any of it was actually homemade/not from a box or freezer. Was it worth it? No. Would we go again? No. Should you go? I personally believe in trying restaurants at least once to gather my own opinion since everyone is different. So, try it if you are in the area and see for yourself.

Ok so this restaurant has always been our favorite. We go there quite often for breakfast and order supper from there atleast once a week sometimes twice. I personally always get their liver with mashed potatoes and gravy. Well the last 2 times the liver was overcooked. This evening I ordered it and had it delivered. The liver was so dry and there might have been 2 tablespoons of gravy over the whole meal. Very very dissapointed

We were looking forward to trying as we've had some great breakfasts at the Oxford Grill at the other end of town which is also not a fancy place, but the food is very good and service is friendly. Very disappointing. The scrambled eggs were awful, the backbacon was undercooked and the potatoes were mush. I ate maybe a quarter of my meal. Will not go back and have no idea why so many people were there. Coffee wasn't even great.

I've been to almost every place that serves breakfast here in Woodstock and this place by far is the BEST! I'm very big on breakfast. I make my decision by price$, quality, portion, and service. This place does NOT break the bank at all. Your always greeted with a smile when you walk in. Coffee comes to your table every 5 minutes. I love it! The ladies are amazing. Food comes out fast and hot. Always go for the home fries! They are REAL home made potatoes, NOT the deap fried store bought kind. Great bacon and sausages. Eggs always cooked perfectly. They butter that toast so good! A very good selection to choose from for everyone! Believe me, I have a very advanced taste pallet. My taste buds have years of experience and they go wild over this place. No joke. Go to this place for breakfast. You have nothing to loose and everything to gain. . . Back again 2019. This time for dinner. I had to lower my star rating for the place sadly. Don't get me wrong, I still LOVE this place... ... for its breakfast. Let's just get to the brass tax. I ordered the slovaki dinner and it looked amazing. Chicken was actually cooked perfectly, not to salty, nice char. I was hitting it hard, dunkin' it like Jordan on that tzatziki sauce. So good. But the down fall to the meal was the potatoes. Very soggy, but my wife liked them. But then again she thinks airplane food is amazing. The rice, didn't seem as fresh. I won't go into detail about that but I just didn't like it. The Greek salad was nice but I think k a tad to much feta cheese. And I love feta! But this was a bit much. Nvm scratch the feta. Either way, I still love you chuckwagon.

The chuck wagon looked run down 32 years ago when I first stepped inside and it hasn't really changed much in appearance since - other than 32 years have passed since then. I am going to share a secret with you though - it doesn't matter. If you want great meals at reasonable prices, then you must eat here. This is a zero star dining hole but they serve up such good food and portions that you can't help but come back. One of my all time favourite eateries but don't expect fancy ok? I come here and eat when I have been slugging outside all day or when I just don't feel like doing any more than the basics of shoes and shirt and pants

The stars are for the service.Zero stars for the food. First time there. Had the fish and chips. Overpriced Highliner style and small. If I wanted McDonald's French fries I'd have went there instead. 7 of us ate here. My wife enjoyed the hot dog and fries. I hear they have a good breakfast. After this disappointing experience we won't be back to find out! What's so difficult about making real food? The review saying the Oxford Grill is better for this style of food is absolutely correct! Better portions at reasonable prices!

Its a little run down, the service was friendly. Took a chance and ordered the TBone steak. Asked for well done. Recieved the steak as rare. My wife's steak came back well done when she asked for medium rare. Sent my steak back and it was the same. Didn't even look like they cooked it again. Won't ever come back, not sure why their is so many high rated reviews.

If you're looking for a typical old school breakfast this place was pretty good. I ordered a standard two eggs over easy with homefries and bacon, which came with two very large and tasty eggs! The only complaints I have about the place is poor coffee and cold bacon pre made on a slow morning. 3 stars for me but still a satisfying breakfast.

Supper at about 5:30 Saturday Aug 7, 2021. Somewhat busy but a few tables available. Plexiglass shields between tables which are cleaned / disinfected rigorously. Hot turkey sandwiches had lots of meat, good mashed potatoes and gravy. Peas were OK but I'm not that much into peas. By the time we were leaving all tables full and people waiting outside. Good food, good choices.
