This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Georgian restaurant.
Excellent food, service and atmosphere! The cheese bread, mushroom appetizer and garlic chicken dish were all amazing. Will be coming here again
Service was great, and the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Food is amazing and everything was well prepared and delicious.
fantastic! found it very authentic
The food here is so delicious and the quantity was just right! Customer service was terrific. Will most definitely be visiting again.
Saperavi is hands down one of the most unique restaurants in the city! With delicious food, top notch service, refreshing cocktails and an outstanding wine selection (that comes straight from Georgia) you simply can't go wrong. My personal favourites include the Chicken Shaslik, Gupta (lamb meatballs), and of course the Khachpuri Adjaruli. Everything is made in house by incredibly talented chefs. Saperavi is beautiful family owned business and should be added to the top of your list for your next outing.
Outstanding experience! It’s not about “speed” or fast food, it’s about sharing time and your meal. I suggest the family style. So good! Have been a few times since they’ve opened and it’s great.
Amazing place! Food is fantastic, service is awesome! We will come back again and again :) You should try everything from their menu! It’s reeeeealy good!
Food was excellent, service was too notch and would recommend a visit even if not familiar with menu items. Staff explains well and is able to accommodate dietary restriction easily.
After living in Georgia, my stomach was craving Georgian food for the past few years. Luckily we found this gem of a restaurant and finally my stomach is happy once again! The food is absolutely delicious. It tastes just like how I remember the food in Georgia, and the service and ambiance is great. We had the khinkali (both the meat and the mushroom ones - the meat ones were spot on, I never had mushroom ones in Georgia but they were awesome to see for vegetarian folks), khachapuri imeruli, and the badrijani (labelled eggplant rolls on the menu). I can't wait to go back!
Went here with a group of friends and wow the food was amazing! Maria was our waitress and she took great care of us! Almost all of the menu items are gluten free (minus bakery items obviously) and they have lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Everyone in our group got something different and we enjoyed everything. We will definitely be back!
Whoever opened this place, thank you!! I've been fascinated with Georgia for the longest time and I've always wanted to try the food. And now there's a Georgian restaurant in Winnipeg. Apparently it's been around for about 3 years. My first experience with Georgian food was excellent! I tried their borshch and khachapuri and both were very tasty and good quality. And everything on the menu sounds amazing. I will definitely come back and try other things. Another great feature about Saperavi is that it's the only place where you can have Georgian wine. It's a bit on the pricey side and you have to buy a bottle. But when you realize that the owners have to import it themselves and you hear about the red tape the government puts them through to do so, it's understandable. The LC won't carry Georgian wines. And since Georgia is basically where wine was first created, you cannot have a Georgian restaurant without georgian wine. I highly recommend this place to everyone. This place offers a taste of a culture unlike any other. Didi madloba!
We've been waiting for our food for 2 hours! Also, waitresses can't remember which order belongs to whom in our large group. The food itself is good, but overpriced from our point of view. This place might be OK for small group, but not for large crowd .
The place was very clean and the service was great
We had a staff Christmas party here recently and the food was fantastic! Just really great food, service and atmosphere. There was around 20 of us and I think ever single person raved about the food. I will be back!
Love this place , definitely would come again.
The food was amazing and we had a great time, food was the best I had in Winnipeg. The host was fun and made us feel so comfortable. The place is gorgeous
Exceptional service, owner came & checked up on us a few times, the environment is very welcoming. Food was delicious, never had Georgian cuisine before & I thought the flavours were phenomenal. I came back to the patio on a different occasion because I thought the atmosphere was very lovely as it’s on the street of Corydon. I brought my friends & they loved the place!
I have never had Georgian food before but after being here want to have more of it. The stuffed bread with seasoned pork and beef was amazing so tasty as was the chkmeruli which is chicken thighs cooked in a cream sauce served with rice or potatoes and it was amazing as well so much depth of flavours.
Everything we ordered was delicious. The lamb was cooked perfectly, the meatballs were tender with an amazing sauce, the cheesy bread with the egg was perfect for dipping into everything. Would definitely come back again.
I’ve been there a handful of times and they never have disappointed me. Specially the food was on point every visit. I’m in love with there cheese bread and the dish named chkmeruli(I’ve surely learned how to pronounce it ????). The staff is amazing.
Awesome food and very pleasant service.
Yummy food in a very nice atmosphere! It was very cool to try out some dishes I'd never had before. Looking forward to going back!
Returned to Saperavi recently. Service was excellent. Food is still very good. Portions are generous. They have a few items for Vegans and are very accommodating (one of our party was a vegan with an allergy to canola oil). ------- Previous review below----- We went last year for the supper for 4. Its a great introduction. For our stomachs it would have fed 8. It was fun. We sat on the patio and many people came to watch as the endless plates of food kept coming from the kitchen. I enjoyed all the food. They did say they would change it and took some of our input on how we felt the meal went. I appreciate that they seemed to care. The food is Georgian, which I had never heard of until going to that restaurant. For something different, I think its definitely worth a try. This review is based on the one time I went. I was debating between a 4 and a 5... 4 because I am unsure how I feel next time I go as they might have changed the experience... but I kept it at a 5 because it is based on our one time going and we did have a fantastic time... aside from the wasps... but that wasn't their fault as we were eating outside.
This restaurant is okay. Traditional Georgian food. Very nice staff here! Service is good! But a bit noisy place. And a bit overpriced.
So happy they’re open for dine in! Wonderful service and they made me a yummy lemon virgin sangria upon request ????
Visited the Cøpenhagen Bistro in the same building for lunch. Fresh and unique selection of items that you won't see anywhere else in Winnipeg. Friendly, courteous staff.
Authentic Georgian restaurant in Winnipeg that's a must try! Good selection of beer/cocktail/wine, but only one option of red and white in glass. We tried what our server suggested for us: kachapuri and chikmeruli and one last dish I can't remember the name of... Anyways, they were all so good! It tasted like authentic home made Georgian food with so much flavor. Price is reasonable for the quality of the food and portion was perfect for two people (an appetizer and two main). We finished everything there was and felt pretty stuffed. Definitely will be coming back to try other things on the menu. Highly recommend ????
Great food, nice atmosphere
Great unique food over here. . Excellent service. Highly recommend.
Must get the Khachapuri Imeruli (cheese bread) to start. I really liked the Chkmeruli, which is chicken thighs cooked with in a clay pot with cream and garlic butter. Will return!
A new and welcome food experience for Winnipeg. The food is authentic Georgian, well prepared and ample portions. Good wine selection too. The dining room is separated from the lounge so the dinner conversation is comfortable. The dinning room is simple and welcoming. The serving staff was very accommodating, helpful and efficient. Special kudos for the cheese filled bread appetizer ... yummy! Overall it was a good experience and definitely worth a repeat visit in future. The only reason for not giving 5 stars was that the main courses we're ready and brought out before appetizers were completed which made for a bit of a rush to reorganize ... but they were hot.
Our first time trying Georgian food and we were definitely pleased! The food is somewhat of a cross between Eastern European and Middle Eastern food. The plates are intended to share and portion sizes are more than generous. I could eat the the khachapuri imeruli everyday. Our server sold us on the Saperavi, Godori and it was the perfect wine to accompany our meal. We plan on returning to try more plates!
Really great food! Super fresh and tasty.
We had excelent dinner. It was Real taste of Georgia! I love it!
love it
Only one reason to mark 4 stars instead of five - I know Georgian cuisine well. This is not a real Georgian food, but the great adoption
Great food. Great service!
I was so excited to find this place while walking on corydon. My dad always told me about this amazing cheese bread called kachapuri that he had in Georgia and I was eager to try it. It and the rest of the food is delicious and very flavorful. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Very kid friendly!
(Translated) Traditional Uzbek meals. The only place I've seen "watery food" in Canada. (Original) Traditional Uzbek meals. Canada da "sulu yemek" gordugum tek yer.
Food was phenomenal. Service was superb. Hidden gem in the city.
I am Ukrainian and whenever I feel homesick I come here. Love the food!!!
Amazing food.
Great food and pretty waitresses, what else can you want
Staff was spectacular, good was even better. Atmosphere is dimmer, cozy but spacious. I'm coming back and would recommend it with out a worry.
Delicious!..
Food was pretty good but you can get better for the price. The server was great.
We ended up having the meal for 5. It was an interesting experience trying new foods. The food was good and the service was excellent.
Great food. The appetizers were great. We tried eggplant rolls and mushrooms. very delicious. for main course, we got Ojakhouri and Chkmeruli. both were tasty. served in hot plates.
I applaud Il Molino for bringing something unique to Winnipeg's diners and while the meal was certainly without fault, the concept is solid, the ingredients fresh and the flavours pronounced. What was missing from each dish was a balance of flavours, a small quibble I am confident the chefs can improve. Something for all to consider trying, but certainly not a restaurant I can wholeheartedly recommend.
Love this restaurant! Lagman was so good and made me feel like home, it tasted exactly like what my grandpa made! (He is from Xinjiang Province, China)
A really good dinner. I've eaten at Georgian restaurants in Kiev and this place would fit right in. Service was really good, the food was great and they have a couple of wines from the region that pair well with the food. Of course we tried the dumplings, a Georgian special, but here they are about twice the size I am used to. We ordered a double serving as there was 2 of us, and took half of them home. The fancy potato dish was delicious and the chicken skewers with vegetables was a great vegetables fish. Nothing too spicy and everything tasted wonderful. The dessert menu was not too impressive, so we opted to walk down the strip and try some ice cream. The menu is wide and varied, in fact 3 dishes between 2 people was a lot of food. They have some 4 and 6 person group dinners and I'm planning to get some friends together to go back and try more dishes
Amazing food (great company helped with the choices), some very interesting beer, and an absolutely delightful server. I am a huge fan of the dumplings, but also tried the lamb. Fantastic.
The food was amazing!!
Was missing home and craving shaslyk (pork BBQed pieces). Unfortunately that did not taste anything like home. Shashlyk always comes with fresh white/yellow onions and bread and most often with fresh spring salad. This one had no bread and grilled zucchini. Meat also wasn't really close to traditional one. That was a take out and no utensils were included which I realized when I drove off. You'd think it's included for $27 So had to it with my hands.
Amazing Georgian dishes and quite flavourful and customer service is excellent and top notch, will always go back...
amazing service and delicious food! Great patio set up outside for a couple drinks with the boys! highly recommend this place!
The restaurant is great no doubt. I lived in Georgia for a year so I know the Caucasus flavors..and this place had been such a nice surprise!!!! every single thing I tried, tasted as good as in origin country. the only caveat - khinkali prices.
Amazing food! It says "spices" in the menu in many places without any more specification but maybe that is because these recipes are family secrets. All 7 people at the table found their food very flavorful! Ask your server about sharing plates or ordering your own meal. The vegetarian bread was also amazing! And it was baked fresh when we ordered it. The Strawberry salad that my husband and I started with had a few olives in it which puzzled us but the flavors were actually very nice! I would highly suggest this restaurant. The owner asked us on the way out how our food was which was very nice and it felt like he genuinely wanted to know how our experience was. I would give this place more than 5 stars if I could :)
Beautiful ambiance, friendly staff. We had our school's get togather there and they made dishes according to our choise and requests. Garlic chciken was topnotch ???? *Recommend*
A hidden gem that if you don't stop you may miss it. The idea of a Georgian Restaurant intrigued me and boy was I glad I took the plunge. We started with the cheese bread and it did not disappoint. It was gooey and every bite kept me wanting more. My boyfriend and I had to play rock paper scissor over the last piece. The mains we ordered were the Chkmeruli and the Pork Ojakhuri. Our meals came served in a clay pot, the presentation was pristine and both meats were incredibly tender and flavorful. The portions were very generous that we had leftovers to take home with us. Definitely a place I will be visiting again and again
Delicious!! Delicious fresh food! We had chakhokhbili and shared the plate in two as well. The draft beer was excellent and the service was very nice.
My friend and I went there to try something different than the usual steak/chicken fare you can get at many places in the city. Was impressed with the nuce yet casual decor. We were greeted right away and seated in our choice if a booth. Being a Tuesday evening it was quiet, which was perfect. Service was prompt, friendly and helpful. I asked the server what she would recommend and she pointed out an appetizer that was cheese stuffed bread. It was delicious. Then we both tried a meat /stew dush with either pork or veal. It was presented in a flat clay bowl and was also delicious. Also tried the beef dumplings. They were good as well. We were too full for dessert. I will definitely be returning to try other menu items. Great meal and nice atmosphere.
Awesome!
Excellent variety, great wine, and fantastic friendly service.
Delicious food. Great service. If you order the mushroom appetizer you won't be disappointed. We will go again - even just for the mushroom appetizer.
Khinkali! Only place I've found Georgian food in Canada (I don't frequent van or tdot.) Its glorious.
Delicious food, great service
Absolutely delicious!! The Khachapuri and Kubdari were amazing! Cant wait to order from here again to try more!
????????
Great experience and staff.
Great meal. Friendly Prompt Service. I would definitely recommend it.
F.H.D
I highly recommend one of the shared dinner. The breads in particular were wonderful.
Best Georgian meal I've had, including restaurants in Tbilisi. The pickle plate was a dazzling array of different vegetables, from hot peppers to sweet peppers to garlic scapes to tomatoes and beyond, each pickled in its own unique brine. Worth the trip for this appetizer alone. The Georgian rataouille arrived in a cute stone vessel and was incredibly aromatic. The chicken in cream sauce was juicy, tender and delicately seasoned - we saved all of the gravy to mop up with our bread. The khinkali had just the right amount of soup inside and were generously dusted in pepper. Deserving of a Michelin star (if only the inspectors included Winnipeg on their itinerary)!
Amazing service and great food
Oh my goodness, SUCH good food, SUCH a good time had by all six of us. Keep it up, Separavi, well done indeed!
supper busy , wait too long for food
Best Georgian food we’ve ever tried! (& we tried lots) Shashlyk is made exactly how it supposed to be - just perfect! Bravo to the chef! Amazing service, very friendly and professional. No doubts 5 stars ????
Just in love with the quality of their services. Even during the lockdown I got takeouts many times and was super happy with the food quality. Gotta try their cheese bread and Lamb Shashlik. Simply mind blowing. Looking forward for you guys to reopen after the lockdown.
Their Gupta is transcendental.
We have been here now a couple of times and it never disappoints. It had been 2 years since our last visit when we went last week and even with their reduced menu we were still able to find vegetarian options that were delicious. The service was great the food was fantastic we will definitely be back.
Family run. Excellent food. We ordered 12 course for 4 $185 Great variety. Would feed 5 or 6
Best hidden secret in Winnipeg (also city's best cheese bread)
This was my second time at this Winnipeg restaurant. In terms of ambiance and service this place is 100% for the food… it was good, but just felt a little underwhelmed. I think the pickles came pre made and the Lagman though well flavoured had smaller noodles then I was used to for this dish. I plan to come back, but will need to do a lot of research about what to eat.
Absolutely wonderful, genuine food everytime!
Fantastic meal had the dinner four four. Service at a nice leisurely pace. Server was lovely. Few people in the restaurant on a Tuesday night. Will definitely go back. Have the cheese bread!
So delicious!
These guys know what they are doing !!! Flavourful, cozy atmosphere and great service and a subtle classiness . I would go back many more times! Great for groups or a date!
Service is great but food is over rated
Enjoyed the food. Good service. Reasonable price. We will be going back.
Good restaurant.
Pheniminal food, and excellent service. Tapas style food comes in perfect sized portions and leaves you wanting more!
Wonderful dumplings, great lamb chops and an excellent Napoleon!
Amazing food and experience. The "Only" Georgian cuisine in the prairies and it's just fantastic. Check it out if you get the chance.
Service is very friendly, food is delicious, variety of food is good, Ambiente could be better
Great place for meat lovers !!!! So delicious ???? my fav is lamb chop and the chicken shashlik, decent amount as well. ❤️ Definitely worth trying.
Went on a date night and was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious food and expertly prepared. I'll be going again.
Grest service and good food! The lamb was amazing.
Amazing experience. Food was absolutely delicious and extremely flavourful. Staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. I would 100% reccomnd this place to anyone and everyone.
Menu is spectacular. Had stuffed mushrooms, bread, kebab, and chicken…. Not dry or greasy, very filling and flavourful. Would have to recommend to anyone who wants something outside the standard fare… beer and wine menu also beyond expectations.
We went in midweek at 8 p.m. not intending to avoid a crowd, but because it fit our schedule. One other table had diners in a comfortable setting. The waiter, son of the owner, educated us on the food of Georgia and suggested #18 Chkmeruli, chicken thighs in cream and garlic sauce with small boiled potatoes (rice would have partnered better with the sauce) We added #13 Kubdari a stuffed flatbread with veggies, #5 Eggplant Rolls that included cheese, walnut sauce and a pomegranate topping, and #24 Khinkali, dumplings filled with juicy, peppery beef and pork . Nothing was over/undercooked, nor over salted. It was real food. The menu offers plenty for vegetarians to love (the dumplings can be ordered with mushroom filling) as marked with a large V. Enjoy!
Great kitchen !
Some very interesting items on the menu..
Would give it a 3.5 stars. Cozy dining vibe. The male owner and the female server are very nice, been checking us up regularly. We ordered three dishes, the cheese mushroom is a big surprise. We love it so much! The chicken is not bad. Flavour of sauce is very matched with rice, and we had unlimited access to the rice. Though I am personally not a fan of the way they cook the chicken but my friends feel okay with it. Dumplings are a big disappointment. 18 dollars for 4 tasteless medium sized dumplings is definitely gonna make you regret, especially being an Asian myself I just wanna cry it a river lol.
Great food and service
tasty and different
Good food
Great food and awesome beer
First time trying Georgian food. Great food and amazing flavours! Family/Tapas style serving. I only tried the soups and a few meat dishes and all were tasty. Service was helpful and friendly. I will definitely go here again to try more dishes.
Great food. Great service. Winnipeg's first Georgian restaurant!
I haven't eaten so tasty for a long time. Was absolutely amazed by service and food itself. My new favorite restaurant! 11/10
Amazing service and food! Definitely highly recommended! Would go again many times and bring friends!
Tasty food, nice atmosphere. Recommend
Great service and food. Pleasant atmosphere. Serving staff are happy to advise on the best way to eat certain dishes such as the dumplings and the cheese flat bread with running egg (both are fantastic!). Try the Napoleon dessert, it's delightful.
Food was absolutely delicious and the manager was very kind, excellent service.
The best place every. Delicious and healthy meal. Now our budget goes to this place.
It was ok, server made it 4 stars for sure
Good food, although having lived in Russia where Georgian food is very popular, I can tell that it's not the best Georgian restaurant I've visited.
The service was wonderful, In fact it's partly why we decided to try this place. Walking by, everyone working looked upbeat and inviting, we decided to roll the dice. Unfortunately we left a bit.... underwhelmed. The restaurant attempts to present itself as an upscale authentic Georgian culinary experience, but what you get is a cheap rip off of anything close to that. First we tried the imeruli (cheese bread), which is essentially overpriced fried dough and cheese with a marina dipping sauce. It felt similar to something one could experience at any run of the mill pizza restaurant. I was hoping they would fry a few authentic spices into the dough or really any type of unique treatment to the dish, but it ended up being pretty plain and forgettable. Next we tried the Lamb Shashlik (Lamb Chops grilled in Georgian spices paired with new potatoes). This was the dish I was hoping was going to be a home run. Unfortunately it was anything but. The dish is plated with raw cut up cucumber, tomato, red bell pepper, parsley and red onion which feels like a cheap salad thrown on top of a few cuts of meat. Its "new" potatoes, must refer to the fact that they were perhaps newly purchased that day? Because all they did was toss those bad boys in the oven til they were soft and plate them beside the lamb. Honestly, potatoes with a basic cream sauce would have done it for me, but this just felt lazy. The lamb itself does not appear to be brined as the inside had little to no flavor and the outside had only a hint of spice and sparkle. It was a flavor profile one could accomplish with a trip to the local grocery store and a BBQ. The plate was underwhelming, overcooked and failed to live up to its lofty price point of $30, not including gratuity. Lastly the restaurant blasted Virgin 103 above the patio, which really impacted the enjoyment of the meal as we were constantly interrupted by annoying commercials and radio DJ exchange. I would highly recommend they instead play a curated Spotify playlist (or something to the equivalent) to allow customers to forget the world outside, relax into a soothing sonic atmosphere all while being transported to an authentic Georgian staycation. Overall the experience was underwhelming and over priced for what it is. I believe this restaurant either needs to put more than the bare minimum amount of effort into creating a genuine Georgian culinary experience or lower their prices and come to terms with what they truly are for the moment. The staff was incredibly helpful and accomodating. The issue remains with the food and it's attempt at a goal it fails to achieve. 2/5
Good food, good patio
Really good food, staff is super friendly
The food is delicious!
(Translated) Cozy, small restaurant, friendly service, very tasty food, relatively inexpensive (Original) Уютный, небольшой ресторан, вежливое обслуживание, очень вкусная еда, сравнительно недорого
This must be the best Georgian view outside of Georgia itself! The Khinkali (stuffed dumpling) has the right amount of spice ,and we love the chicken dish and cheese and egg bread - the latter is must try for those new to Georgian cuisine, The staff are friendly and helpful, and the wine was perfect!!!
Definitely not going back to this place! Bad experience! Waiting time to serve food was horrible! I understand it was a busy night when we came. But waiting for the food 30 to 40 mins on every course that's inexcusable! No one advise us on what was going on. We ended up leaving before they serve the main course because we we're so upset. Bad customer service! There's a lot of good places to eat in the city. Don't go here. Might ruined your date with your special someone like what happened to us.
Food is fresh and very delicious. Definitely would recommend!
Food and service was amazing. Our group was treated fantastic! Will be back!!!
Great place to eat
Best restaurant in the city. Have eaten there a few times. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Fresh bread and dip delicious. Ratatouille and potatoes wonderful. Good service. Would pass on the Lamb next time. Pavlova was a nice dessert to share.
Amazing food, great staff. A must visit if you are in Winnipeg!
a very good restaurant! I advise all who will be sometime in Winnipeg to go for lunch
Four of us went. Two had just come back from St. Petersburg where we had Georgian food. Saperavi ranks right up there! Tasty, interesting cooking! Hope Manitoba Liquor Board finally allows them to bring in some good Georgian wines!
We just heard about this restaurant through friends not to long ago and we decided to give it a try. Staff was helpful while navigating us through the menu with suggestions and sizes of dishes. We decided to eat family style which gave …
So many delicious foods...it was hard to choose only a few things from the menu!
So delicious food.
Outstanding experience! It’s not about “speed” or fast food, it’s about sharing time and your meal. I suggest the family style. So good! Have been a few times since they’ve opened and it’s great.
Everything was delicious. We had the grilled lamb chops, pork skewers, chicken in cream sauce, pickeled veggies and the cheese bread.
You just have to go to know
We come here quite often, love Georgian and Russian cuisine. They always put a lot of food on your plate and it is always delicious!
Delicious food! Great service! Try the meatballs.
Very chill and tasteful ambience. Quiet and comfortable setting, the appetizer was delicious and the beer selection was eclectic and enjoyable. The owner was very nice and treated us to a unique Belgian brew, a bit was a quiet night and came to chat briefly. Great place, only went into the lounge but I'd love to go for dinner at the restaurant next time!
Fantastic dining experience. Would recommend to anyone looking for great gerogian food.!
Saperavi's food was delicious, and the service was friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Incredibly friendly service. Unique and excellent cuisine.
Above and beyond service! Go with friends and try the Georgian dinner feast which is just outrageously delicious and diverse. You will have leftovers. Georgian food is an amazing mix of all the cultural crossroads of the region with Middle Eastern, Indian and European influences. Super interesting wine selection !
Great company, excellenr service and food and an all around fun night.
Very nice place. Food is delicious. Defenatelly will be back.
The Georgian Supper was delicious and we had a lovely dining experience. We got a lot of attention to ensure that the time between courses suited us - (and there were many courses and dishes so we needed time in between!). It is hard to pick a favourite - all were excellent. A nice place to have not just dinner but a real experience.
Wonderful food, great staff, comfortable seating. I will definitely go back. Skip the Dishes is also an option as they belong to the service.
Delicious - highly recommend!
Amazing experience. Food was flavourful and good portions to go along with great service. Really enjoyed it here will definitely be back and would recommend it to anybody debating on trying this place or not. It’s a must.
Amazing options for appetizers and dinner. We shared the chicken in garlic cream sauce and it was very good. The service however was super slow and our experience there was just over 2 hours.
We had an amazing experience at Saperavi Restaurant. The service was top notch and the food exceptional. Our party of 6 ordered the recommended combination of a variety of foods and we enjoyed everything served to us. Highly recommend for a unique dining experience.
Yummy yummy yummy and different then any restaurant in winnipeg. Great patio too!
Georgian cuisine is the best.... if you haven't tried it you need to lots of meat and very hearty
Fantastic food and even better service. Our first time with Georgian cuisine and will definitely be back when in Winnipeg
Food was wonderful, unlike anything I had before yet still felt familiar.
Second time at Saperavi Again very fresh food excellent service and prices are very moderate great place Cannot believe I have walked past Saperavi a hundred times and always said " we should go there" - but this was our first time. It was exceptional - food was so fresh; service was perfect - very relaxed but always there when we needed them. If you have also been walking past and wondering - stop wondering, this place is great - you will love it.
Great food and reasonable prices
Awful. Expected much more from this place. Waited about 40 minutes. No one came by to take our order. Tried to get the attention of the staff.. No concern on their end. Eventually, we had to leave as we lost faith in their ability to tend to their customers. The tables around us seemed to be sharing a similar experience. When we eventually did leave, the staff did not show any concern when we explained our situation. Needless to say.. will NEVER attempt to return to this dump.
From beginning to end it was exceptional. The aroma, the presentation and the taste...yum. Can't wait until next time....which will be VERY soon.
Great place!!! The first time I went there I met the owner and we were treated life family. We got exceptional service and came back multiple times. The food is always great and prepared exactly how we wanted. If you want something extra or different, you ask and they will do it for you. Love this place!!! The also have our favorite Georgian wine. If you like sweeter wine ask for Kindzmarauli, they are they only once who have it!!
An absolute gem, what a delicious experience. We were so pleased to have the chance to try the Georgian Dinner which was a fantastic cross section of the menu. Our server was prompt, courteous, and full of information about the dishes. The wine was also a treat as you can't buy Georgian wine in Manitoba. Can't wait to go back.
Excellent food. We tried out three dishes and all of them has this unique taste. A very good fine dining place. It's a little pricy.
Great food, friendly service.
Amazing experience. Esepcially the food. Man was it to ever die for!! The service was great even though they kinda messed up the order but only because there was a "sold out"sityation on their menu item. But regardless they were very sincere and apologetic about it and immediately let us know. The place itself has quite a romantic atmosphere but at the same time it's somewhat fancy as well. The Chkmeruli, Khachapuri Imeruli, and the Eggplany Rolls that I tried were absolutely delicious. My favorite of the day was definitely khachapuri!! So delicious???????????????? Will definitely go back and try their dessert and some other menu items????????
I was just in the Ukraine with a friend from Georgia. The Khachapuri (cheese bread) at Saperavi was the best thank you
Everything about this experience was great. The food was superb!
Went on a Saturday night with a small group. Most items on the menu were unavailable for some reason. Service was incredibly slow - drinks took ~40 minutes to arrive, and our main courses took closer to an hour. Our appetizer was brought out with the main course. Food tasted good, and was cooked ok, but it was on the heavier side, and there were zero vegetables. Not the worst dining experience I have had, but I would never go back. The only thing that impressed me was their selection of imported draft beer, but like I said, it took almost 40 minutes from the time I ordered a beer til I was able to start drinking it.
Fantastic food. Very different from any other restaurant in Winnipeg. Great family run restaurant. We will be back guaranteed!!
I really enjoyed the food, it was loud unfortunately. One woman filled the room with her personality. This isn’t a place you would bring your guy friends, in fact probably don’t bring your burly boyfriend either. It’s good food and portions for a woman and her friends but my boyfriend ordered giant dumplings thinking they would come with sides and it would be enough. He got literally just 4 dumplings on a plate and nothing else. We went for ice cream after lol The food was extremely good but for a man very small portions
Very inconvenience hours and terrible customer service
The worst service ever !!! If the owner so greedy and he has just one waiter and one bartender. He should close his business. We were waiting for the food more than an hour. And the half of the order was confused. I don't recommend this place.
The food is awesome! It is so tasty that I don't even have words to describe it!
Lunch was absolutely delicious. Servers were friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend! I have to go back there tI try a dinner
They were out of all bottles of white wine. Half the menu they either could not make or they were out of ingredients. Dinner came before the appetizers. Not enough staff to deliver decent service. Not worth it. The Georgian bread stuffed with cheese was the best part. Will not go back.
Delicious food. Friendly staff
The restaurant service quality and food taste was outstanding. Specially thanks to the restaurant manager Shanto and staff for arranging such a delicious food.
One of the best restaurant experience we had in Winnipeg. The service was exceptional. Our server, Magen was friendly, efficient. The other servers were also helpful & quite efficient!! We had vegetarian kubdari, Soko mushrooms, vegetarian Ajabsabdali , lamb Gupta for dinner & napoleon for dessert. It was delicious! We'll definitely go back if we don't go to another lockdown ????
Great service....delicious food....cheese bread...wow....
Food was really great. The flatbread is awesome. Reasonable prices. Would definitely go again. Entrees are all dishes to share so i would go with a couple of friends and try a few more dishes. We tried all the stuffed flatbreads and a chicken & garlic dish.
We stumbled upon Saperavi via Tripadvisor and enjoyed a few memorable Georgian dishes...a fresh baked spinach stuffed bread, mouthwatering grilled lamb and a spicy-delicious vegetable stew featuring eggplant. It was fun to try a cuisine we never tried before. We highly recommend this restaurant if you like a bit of adventure when you dine! We had a great time at Saperavi Restaurant. The food was amazing and the service was great. Definitely going there again.
The food and décor were fantastic. It was a unique experience trying Georgian cuisine for the first time and I was absolutely blown away - we ordered 6 sharing dishes and everything was very good. They also has great service and unique Georgian wines as well. This is a gem in the Corydon area
Very flavorful dish (#18). The food took a while to come out for how many people were there, but it was worth the wait. I'd go again.
I think I would have to die and go to heaven to find better food.
Amazing experience food is 5 stars out of 5. Recommend here without a doubt to all.
decided to try Saperavi out on valentines day, I'm happy that we made a reso as the restaurant was full. Okay I'm going to say that no matter what you do in life you have to try the katchapuri (cheese bread) it's actually phenomenal and I want nothing else in life. Definitely also try the checkmuruli, ITS THE MOST TENDER CHICKEN ON EARTH - I actually don't know what they did to get it that tender but wow. The staff are super down to earth, very attentive, and definitely directed us in the right direction as to what dishes to order. I was also surprised that considering how busy they were our food came out in decent time! 13/10 recommend this place, take a date, take your friends, take your family, take your ex I don't care just go! WE WILL BE BACK!
Delicious, hearty food with good service. It's worth coming here if you're looking for something different to the typical fare at restaurants in Winnipeg. The solyanka is a delectable soup and definitely worth a try. And of course, ordering the khachapuri (cheese bread) is a must.
Very authentic. Right what we missed about the kind of cuisine we are used to.
Ordered food from Saperavi restaurant, the food tasted bad. The rice had no flavor and was uncooked. The lula kebab tested really bad like was made from poor quality meat. The salad was old. Chachapuris dough wasn’t baked properly. Very disappointed.
This is an amazing restaurant great staff with great hospitality. Servers are always above and beyond. Specially Jane she is so sweet. We had a get together and it feels like we are in home. I’m looking forward to visit again. Great job Saperavi ????
Saperavi Saves the Day! I’d been wanting to try Saperavi for awhile, and decided to make it my Birthday supper earlier this month. I am so glad I did. Everything was excellent: The “walnut dressing” (sort of a walnut puree) on their Georgian salad and cold eggplant appetizer was unique and very tasty, and the regular size salad was more than ample for two. The Khachapuri Imeruli is one of their signature dishes for a reason: It’s probably the best cheese bread I’ve ever had, and I’m a big cheese bread fan! We also enjoyed the Gupta (giant lamb meatballs in a thin tomato-base sauce), Khinkali (mushroom dumplings with a hint of mint) and Chkmeruli (chicken pieces in a really nice garlic cream sauce). Our lone quibble was that we were expecting a bigger portion for the “large” size Chkmeruli – we both wanted more! The restaurant was also flexible with our request for reduced salt on items where possible. The only thing better than the meal was the customer service: I contacted the restaurant after Skip the Dishes totally failed, and once I explained my situation they were nice enough to take my order directly over the phone. I picked it up safely (Covid, etc.) at the front greeting table. Thank You Saperavi! You made my day -and you saved my Birthday. I’ll be back.
I am giving Saperavi a 4 out of 5. Positives: Food is fresh, tasty and exotic. It's unlike any other restaurant in Winnipeg, one of a kind. Go there and you will not be disappointed. Best dishes: Khinkali (Dough shaped like Hershey 's Kisses filled with meat) Khachapuri ( Cheese Bread), Lamb Shashlyk (shish Kebab on a skewer) Negatives: Long waits for your food ( sometimes it can take 45 minutes to 2 hours) Very pricy for small portions. My recommendation to the owner would be to lower the cost by $3 or 4 and serve larger portions.
Great food! Service isn't as quick but that's because everything is made ready to order. Food came hot and fresh. Make sure you get the cheese bread as it's unreal
Saperavi is a real gastronomic gem and a very relaxing and casual place in the heart of Winnipeg's "Little Italy". It features mostly Georgian cuisine, which is considered one of the most popular national cuisines across the former Soviet Union. It originated in the Caucasus Mountains, has evolved over many centuries and is a perfect blend of meats, spices, vegetables and cheese in every imaginable combination, but all very appealing to the most discerning palate. Our friend, who was actually born in Georgia, says their food is very authentic. On our first visit, we tried their chakhokhbili (a chicken dish), veal ojakhuri, lamb gupta and khachapuri and give 5+ stars to all. Their wine list has some good national reds and whites (saperavi would, of course, be the most natural choice!).
It was our first time that we visited this place. You can realy feel how much love was invested in thise food. It such a unique place. Thanks for the incredible experience.
