Good chips ,but the worst hummus I ever tried in my life. Tasted like it was only water and chekpeas or just defrosted. No flavor at all. And service is bad!

Elephant and Castle is awesome, I really liked the pub feel they've got going on. It's poky and cramped and the lights are dim and the TVs are on. Not showing the football; but you can't have everything. You'll just have to settle for hockey. Jets fans, I'm kidding. The food is really good, I had a wrap and I would definitely have it again. Its filling, it's rich, and best of all it's at a very reasonable price. I didn't see any beer on tap but I'm sure it's there (otherwise it wouldn't be much of a pub, right?), and even if it isn't you really can't go wrong here. Go here if you're a pub guy and you miss it. It won't be the same, but it does come very very close. And hey, good food is good food. Special shout out to the chips, which were far better than I was expecting.

Had the butter chicken poutine. Was delicious. Service was good, quite good. Have to take another order of the butter chicken poutine home to eat with the Jets game. Go Jets go. Lovely salmon dish with fish cooked just right accompanied by mashed potatoes and delicious saiteed green beans with garlic. Potatoes could have been hotter. Friend had leek & potato with cheese dish. It had an I threshing looking baked Crust. The chubby bowl was not filled to the top but it was tasty and filling. It left one wanting more. Tea was hot! Tasty.

Came to the Delta a bit early and our room was not ready so we can here as it is attached to the hotel. Came here on a Tuesday afternoon so it was not busy at all. Small little place but drinks were cold ???? don't know how it is when it's busy so can't comment on that but if you're looking for a quiet little place during the week, this is your place. They have VLT's but were down at the time I tried them. Come on in and pay a visit ????

I wanted to like this place and not just because we got this for one of our birthday meals. Quick summary: we found paper shreds in not 1 but TWO dishes, the shep pie was very bland with minimal fillings, and the pretzel appie was burnt. Chicken pot pie and bread pudding was good. Overall wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend. :( Here's a breakdown of ratings: - Salad: 1/5 - had paper in it (see photos) - Pie sampler: 1/5 - had paper in it, didn't trust eating the others after finding it (see photos) - Pretzel appie: 2/5 - google image search pretzel bites. That is not what we got. Instead of gold - goldenbrown we got brown - dark brown well done bites. :( - Chicken pot pie: 4/5 good flavor and saucy! Good crust. Could have used more filling for the price. - Bread pudding: 4/5 make sure you like raisins they are all over the middle of this. The bread was pillowy and good, it was a bit well done on the top, but not overly.

This is a regular supper spot for me. I love the friendly staff and how they recognize me when I come in. My server will usually ask me if I want my regular beverage and tell me what’s their current menu fav for me to try. Whatever I choose arrives hot and beautifully presented. My favourite is bangers and mash! Yum! E&C is an excellent place to bring friends for lunch, happy hour or supper. Highly recommend!

It's a nice place, decorations are really nice, very English, it is definitely a very relaxed atmosphere, it's the kind of place you would go to catch up with an old friend, servers are friendly, drinks are good, haven't had any of the food yet that's why I'm not giving it 5 stars, but I will come back and update it :)

Ordered online to pick up. Arrived and no one was around, our food was sitting out on the counter. Not under heat lamps just in a paper bag. Staff from the back came out and said hi but would not serve us. 6 minutes later a person from the back comes and asks if we are here for pick up. Recieved our order and out the door. Really wish food was warmer.

Food: lovely quality with a unique menu (as this is a London styled pub). Good servings, but a little more pricey compared to other similar restaurants. ($22 for nachos seems a few dollars too expensive). Service: our waitress was friendly and on top of drinks throughout our 1.5 hour stay. Atmosphere: nice lighting, not too harsh, and very clean building. Being based out of a Delta hotel, this is no surprise.

Food is reasonable, with the fish and chips and most burgers being worth a try. Beer is cold and in good selection. Prices are fair and won't break the bank, but is far from 'amazing value'. Atmosphere is fun, with an old English pub feel. Generally the crowd is middle aged, nice people, either staying at the Delta hotel or going out downtown. Availability can be very difficult before Jets games.

I always love visiting E&C. The staff are always friendly, and the food is great. We stopped in after a concert for some poutine - I went with the butter chicken one and it did not disappoint. They also have really good fried pickles.

**EDIT** Just wanted to come back and say we've been coming here fairly often since my first review, and this place is still amazing!! Food is just so good, staff are friendly - we still love this place. I don't think there is a 'bad' thing on the menu, its all great. Review from 3 years ago : Tried this place for the first time, I had the bacon wrapped meatloaf, boyfriend had the fish & chips - both dinners were great! Really good portion sizes, you won't leave hungry. Everything is very flavorful/tasty. Waitress was a nice girl, did a great job. Service was a bit slow, but I suspect they are actually cooking all food to order back there, as everything came out hot and perfect. Awesome pub/restaurant, we'll be coming back lots for sure.

Wanted to share that I had just ordered pick up here and it was absolutely awful , this place place was on my to eat list in Winnipeg and now I will never eat here again I cannot believe I was lied to where I asked how long the food was sitting super poor service

I've only ordered a few times via Skip the Dishes and have never been disappointed. The pretzel bites with the bacon, beer, cheese dip is my go-to snack. However, I tried the lamb burger (with an egg) for the first time and it was delicious! I asked for no onions on my burger and the restaurant called to inform me of onions in the side dish I had ordered and asked if I wanted those left off too. That kind of service is priceless. Highly recommend, I'll have to go in person soon!

The place served us good tasting food and the ambiance is nice and cosy. Serving the food takes a while though even when it's not busy which is my only gripe. The waiter is prompt and attentive though so I wonder if the slowness is due to the kitchen. Price is reasonable and portion size is average to large. When hanging out with friends on summer time you can have beers on the patio and enjoy their promos when available. The place is just on the first floor of delta hotel but be weary of parking as it's in the downtown area, parking is scarce even if you're keen to pay.

Excellent experience today! Ordered the Delhi Delight for La Pizza Week. Service was friendly and prompt, order pick up was simple, and the food was delicious. We highly recommend this pizza contender!

I only took pictures of the food I actually ate. The soup was ale and something but was just a different name for French onion soup. The broth was great. I didn't care for the amount of brioche inside, but that's personal taste. I do not recommend the calimari. At $12 there was a lot of onions, peppers and things that were not calimari. The French onion burger was Ok. It was too sweet for my taste? Was not expecting that level of sweetness. It didn't taste as good as the soup. The bun it was on was good. The best were the fries. I was impressed that all the food came out piping hot. The fried food was done well. I mean it was very crispy and retained it's heat. That doesn't add enough to the lack of actual calimari in my dish. Service was mediocre. She wasn't listening to my order properly... I had asked for the calamari first so we could share and she served it the other way. She was friendly for the most part but her smile dropped a lot. Was not self aware for refilling empty water glasses. There was a lot we didn't eat. Server never asked us if it was OK. Kind of wish we had gotten the other guy as our server instead. We had sat separately at first not realizing we were part of the same group. When we joined up we got this server.

Nice pub, most importantly the Guinness was tasty. A little cold, but good. Fish and chips pretty good. I was most impressed with the service. The lovely bartender (svr #13) was fantastic. She ran her bar with ease and was right on with her patrons, a pro for sure. I was very impressed. I would go back anytime.

If you're in the area and hungry, and have a huge appetite this is one helluva place to go. The food is tasty, arrives really quickly and the staff make the experience worth it. A good range of drinks available and there's a really nice, cozy atmosphere. Great. Recommended (always)

I was here about 2 months ago , very clean place inside and nice , has a good vibe walking around . Beautiful bar , and their menu are great , only down side were the wings I've order were dry , but our waiteress had notice and offered us a free dessert. Very polite and generous.

Disappointed, I had so excited to come out for dinner with my family. Took almost 10 mins before we received any acknowledgement, we requested to move tables to a smaller more personal space instead of their large both options. When receiving drinks, I found floating small items in my drink. I asked for a new one, upon drinking I soon seen more small pieces floating around (after waiting some time for the waitress to return) got myself plain water and no ice.. Sat there for over an hour, no idea where the food is. As guests who came in after us ; are being served their food and drinks.. we are still there unsure of what's happening.. I understand being busy and "overwhelmed". Just overall bad experience ???? Bacon blue cheeseburger and "burger week" meat patties, were burnt. Less to nothing blue cheese. I'll definitely think twice before coming here again. (Ordered here a few months prior, and it was amazing )

Since this restaurant was attached to the hotel I was staying at, I tried it out, and there it was. Poutine. It was pretty amazing! Heart-stopping, but amazing. Anyway, the food speaks for itself and the staff talk funny. ????

Today I went to have lunch at your restaurant. I ordered a cheese burger, no bun, no mayo. It came with a slice of processed cheese which I pulled off and explained to the waitress that I couldnt eat processed cheese and she snickered/laughed. I asked if she thought it was funny that the cheese would make me sick if I ate it. The burger itself was broken in 3 pieces. Why? Was it dropped on the floor and served to me? She went to the back and didnt replace the burger but melted what she told me was real cheddar on the burger. I have since come back to work and I am feeling so Ill I will have to leave. What was I fed? This is unreal scary to not have trust when eating out. I used to be a person who didnt understand people with health issues related to diet and food but now I am living it. If a person can't be safe eating out and is mocked and potentially served food that makes them sick what is to happen?

We ordered from Uber Eats and the pretzel beer cheese tasted horrible, don’t know why the shepherds pie was upside down? And the cheesecake was rancid !! We lived in Winnipeg for 8 years, 5 years ago and use to eat at ur restaurant all the time, just so disappointed. The quality has gone downhill;( if anything I wish we could get our money back!! Total waste!! Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone now!!

This place has recently become a go-to of mine. All of the interactions that I've had with their staff have been very pleasant, even at times when they are getting slammed. The atmosphere is quite cozy, a great place to sit down and catch up with an old friend, or to get to know a new one. A few too many TVs for my taste, but c'est la vie. They have an excellent variety of beverages to choose from, including (at the time of writing this review) cider on tap, and guiness on tap, which (thankfully) means that you can order a crown float. Delightful! I have also tried quite a few of their different dishes. From butter chicken to fish&chips to all over the place, I have never been disappointed. I would definitely recommend Elephant & Castle whether you're thirsty, hungry or both.

While visiting downtown Winnipeg I strongly recommend Elephant and Castle! Have the Shepherd's Pie!!! So much comfort in a dish! Was delightful and absolutely what I wanted! The green beans were awesome! Also had the onion rings...done JUST RIGHT! Not too much coating and crispy, tasty beauties! I will definitely return here next time in town!!!

Good food, good service. A nice English style pub / sports bar. I go here a few times a year for business meetings and the food has always been good and the service has been quick. It's a relatively quiet place so you can have a conversation without raising your voice.

I had high hopes for this place.. we ordered take out from our room and went down to pick it up. The chicken fingers were not crunchy and they forgot the plum sauce, I asked for super crunchy fries, they were soggy, I ordered deep fried pickles which came with ranch, there was no ranch.. and they get 2 stars cause the pickles were delicious but that’s only because I love pickles. My husband got a lamb burger which wasn’t memorable.. especially for the cost. They forgot my sauces but did charge me extra for a side of mayo... ugh. I recommend NOT ordering take out or if you do, check the bag before leaving.. maybe dine in.. I won’t be returning. My husband asked if they would deliver to our room which was attached to the restaurant and he got attitude from the guy on the phone saying “uh, no we do not”. We expected more from this place.

Food prices were okay, not too expensive, and the house blonde on tap offered a good quality/price ratio (especially during happy hour). Would definitely go back when in Winnipeg again.

Lovely experience! I have been here before, but not for years, before the renovation. Started with a cider on draught which was delicious and cold. We had the pretzel bites with beer cheese dip as a starter. Wasn't my first choice from reading the menu as the shrimp caught my eye, but my fiance wanted this so we got it. Boy, was I glad! Pretzels were hot, fresh, chewy, and salty, and the dip was amazing. Chicken burger was the best I've ever had, along with a delicious Caesar salad. My fiance had a burger which was juicy and fresh. Best of all was our awesome and friendly server. I believe his name was Cody but not 100% sure - tall bearded fellow. All in all a wonderful date night experience, my fiance agreed and he can be hard to please. This will definitely be our new "spot".

Unfortunately my meal was terrrible. However, the server did knock half the price off. I should have had a standard burger. The fruit drinks and app were tasty. The vibe was solid for a Sunday night. Not overly loud or quiet. The server was friendly and helpful. It's probably average experience, and I'd be willing to try again, however the meal I had was refunded by half.

I love this pub. It's usually well frequented, with awesome dishes - their burgers are delicious was. I passed by them several times and never bothered to enter at first 'cause I though it was Indian food - which is def not my type of food - then I got invited to a lunch by a friend and decided to give it a go, and I got happily surprised to discover it's actually an english-like pub. I really enjoyed the ambient and the service. I recommend them!

Very nice pub connected to the Delta Marriott in Winnipeg. Multi large screen televisions to watch sports especially hockey. The atmosphere is sophisticated and cozy. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was presented flaky and hot with a side of gravy and plenty of chips to share. They also have a nice selection of beer, both bottled and on tap. The service was quick and friendly

Orders a "Sunday Meal Kit" grand total delivered. $40 and change. Beef arrive Cold. The advertised Broccoli is Green Beans "I think" . The mash Potato's and gravy were warm. But the Also advertised Yorkshire pudding which was actually the only reason I ordered this in the first place was missing.

Went here during Le Burger Week. Service was fine, but their burger was bland and its texture was not what you would expect for $16 or whatever the price was (I don't recall there being a side of fries or anything). Usually, for that price you expect a patty that has bounce and texture - both inside and out. Their burger seemed to have been made from low quality ground beef that was bought from Walmart and was grilled on a flat surface with water. Flavours were extremely lacking; lots of cheese (cheese whiz, nacho cheese, or something) and other ingredients that didn't enhance the flavour. Added calories for little return of flavour. The onion rings were good. I'd go back to try their other food, but I'm not sure if I'd want to try their other burgers if that was what they had to show for Le Burger Week.
