So great that they are open for lunch and have a fairly extensive lunch menu as well as daily specials. Better wood fired pizzas are difficult to find anywhere in the city. My favourite is the prosciutto and pear, with fig and blue cheese. You can get a half pizza and a salad for a decent price. The wild mushroom and maple bacon pizza was also great.

Tonite I invited my granddaughter to join me for dinner at your restaurant. She ordered the paella and I ordered the eggplant zucchini pasta dish. I just want to let you know that the paella was dry, the rice not fully cooked, the mussels sandy and not fresh tasting. As for the pasta,the eggplant was undercooked, which is a serious problem with eggplant as you know. Otherwise, the pasta sauce was ok, just a little dry. In their defense, it was a very full house. The service however, was good.

Went tonight with my wife and a friend and we all had Caesar salads and shared 2 wood fired pizzas. Plenty of food. Pizzas were spicy pepperoni and a pear prosciutto. The Caesar was excellent...just the right amount of homemade dressing. Pizzas were good. Spicy pepperoni not that spicy but lots of tomato and delicious pepperoni. The pear, prosciutto and onion pizza was good maybe a tad bland for me. We arrived when they opened at 5pm as they don't take reservations. The restaurant filled up fast as it doesn't seat a lot of guests. Friendly, efficient server and we topped it off with a chocolate cream brulee. Best part of a good meal. Had coffees and no alcohol. $81 + tip.

Came with 4 other friends. We shared 3 pizzas and two pastas. I remember the spicy Hawaiian was really good ( but had heat!) the pesto chicken one was really good too. The gnocchi and short rib is the most amazing meal ever. I cannot wait to go back and have that to myself! Highly recommend this place.

First picture is the braised beef gnocchi and second is the CAB strip loin. Holy moly I did NOT expect the food to be THIS good. The steak I had was on a bed of mushroom gravy risotto, shavings of goat gouda and candied/smoked walnuts. I was in heaven!! My partner had the gnocchi and ate it in one sitting. Will definitely be back! Thanks!

I'm shocked that I haven't reviewed this place yet. I've been here about 4 times now and every time I visit Winnipeg, I make sure to stop by. I have never tried their staple menu because their feature menu always sounds appealing and I never want to miss out on the opportunity to try something new. I have never been dissapointed with the food, the price, and the service. I highly recommend this place to everyone and I hope that one day I'll finally get to try something of their regular menu.

Now that reservations were possible, we headed one more time to Bonfire Bistro. Our previous experiences were very good or excellent through some years span. There were no reservations before and you could wait 30/40 min for a table. We had Gnocchi short rib, with gnocchi substituted by fettuccini and pesto gnocchi (no subs). Both were superb. Apple crumble dessert was excellent too, ditto for the cappuccinos. Service was outstanding. Provided they keep reservations, we will be revisiting Bonfire Bistro shortly.

There are specials often so I can't say I've tried everything, but I've worked through almost the entire menu and I have never been disappointed. There are smaller tables to allow for more people to be dining and less waiting time, but if you do need to wait there's not a ton of space available.

Everytime I dine here they switch up the daily offerings and everytime it is exquisite. The chef here is a genius with the unique combinations he/she offers. I always order the beet salad as it is by far the best in city. The servers are knowledgeable and treat you like a guest in their own home. Took my mum here for her birthday. We'd never been here before. Walked into a not overly busy restaurant. Got seated relatively quickly but had to ask for another table. They gave us a high table, but mum is short, super short, so we asked to wait for a low table. They prepped this quickly. Service was slow. Overall slow service from the server, but food timing was good. (At one point we wat with dirty dishes on the table while our server and several other staff walked by us for over five minutes). Mum ordered the special, pickeral, husband ordered a pizza and I had the salmon. Besides wanting a little more attention from her, the server was knowledgeable and sweet. Drink service was slow. Appetizer of muscles was tasty. Mains were hot and beautifully presented. Tastes were very nice and vegetables were prepared almost perfect, but asparagus a little undercooked for our liking. Mum questioned if the sweet potato was blended with white potato but we were told no. Still questionable. Dessert was ice cream, chocolate brownie and strawberry shortbread. Mum really liked her chocolate, I wasn't crazy about the strawberry. Husband did like the strawberry. A nice evening but slightly overpriced. Meals we're elegant and portions were larger than expected. Decore was nice, but staff seemed lax, yet still nice. I would go back as there were other menu items I'd like to try, but 5 stars would require a little better service and slightly better value for money.

We had a lovely meal this evening at this restaurant. It wasn't the first time we had dined there. We ordered the Beet and goat cheese salad and the Manitoba chicken breast. To drink was the Aranciata flavor of San Pellegrino. The meals came fast and were delicious. I especially liked the dijon vinaigrette and candied walnuts on the salad. Great mix of flavours with the roasted beets and soft goat cheese. We were there later in the evening - around 9pm - so it wasn't that full in the restaurant, with space to have a good conversation. Ambiance is very nice. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable. Thanks for a great meal.

I would gladly give 5/5 for the food, atmosphere, cleanliness, and vibe. On that particular night I went I would give 1/5 for service. The server was very odd that night and took a very long time to acknowledge our party (had to flag down another server), came back to me 2 or 3 times to confirm my order (pepperoni pizza, right?), and when we wanted to pay she would give one of us the debit machine then simply walk away while that person processed the transaction. It took way too long to pay and get out. Food was amazing though!

Bonfire Bistro is one of those places that captures your senses. The service for and atmosphere are all amazing. Being from out of town it has been years since the first time I had the pleasure of eating here.Take my word for it, this is one of the best places in Winnipeg and as such I took my wife here for our 2 year anniversary. This establishment offers terrific service only out done by their menu. Drinks are always full or ready too be filled and they make your feel welcome and engaged, like a guest in their home. You will never go wrong getting fire roasted pizza. Between the use of the freshest ingredients and a crust to die for, you only need to find the right topping. After that move on to the entrees, myself I chose the beef tenderloin that is paired with vegetables that honestly are amazing and the 6oz steak it self was beyond tender and of of the most satisfying preices of meat I've eaten. My wife had the fetaccini Alfredo, which seemed to consist of house made pasta, a creamy sauce, chicken and veggies that blend so well with everything. Both meals top notch. While bonfire Bistro may not be affordable as an every day lunch once you have taken a bite you will pay price. Wth they said pizza is very affordable and at this level the prices are actually better then average. If you want a romantic date destination you have found it, the atmosphere is small and Romantic, it was the perfect putting for my wife and I to spend our time.

Colleagues of ours kept encouraging myself and friends to dine into this business and try their wood fired pizzas. We decided to order only their pizzas and try it out. I tried the Italian sausage, my friend got the Mediterranean vegetarian and her husband got spicy hawaiian. The first bite was good, crisp, full of flavor and you want that for any dish you try for the first time. Our friend who had the vegetarian pizza said her pizza was not fully cooked through and stopped half way. The waitress was nice enough to get her another dish from their menu at no charge. I too experienced the pizza not fully cooked through once I got to my 4th slice, not sure if it was the sauce or just the pizza did not stay in long enough. The hawaiian was eaten so fast, he cannot recall how it was but he wanted another pizza so that's a good thing! I may go back again, we seen other tables with pasta dishes that looked delicious but if we do end up getting another pizza, we will request for it to be well done.

First time I ordered was yesterday. We were so excited to try ! Well , I honestly was surprised by the results. It tasted like day old pizza and the topping was not spread to the end of the pizza. Bonfire Bistro This cozy little Bistro has limited parking. We parked on a nearby street. We waited outside to be seated. With the signs in the window we weren't sure we had been seen. Not to worry we were seated quickly by our friendly server. We had a large choice in seats in the two main rooms. We chose a bigger table near the window. We quickly got our menus and our choice of beverages. We chose the chicken with fig sauce and the beet salad with goats cheese and candied walnuts. The chicken was delicious, tender and juicy. It was served on sliced potatoes along side of carrots, broccoli, asparagus and cauliflower. The potatoes were so flavourful and cooked to perfection, the fig sauce mixing in from the chicken. The vegetables also tasted fresh and not over done. The beet salad was tasty original. The beets were sweet buttery and tender. The goat's cheese paired wonderfully with the beets. The arugula was young and tender and not bitter, the candled walnuts being crunchy and sweet added texture and completed the salad. Our food was brought out promptly. The service here was excellent, the food was great, the restaurant was clean. It's a great date night spot.

Their all-star dish is the gnocchi and braised beef short rib. They have the best gnocchi in the city, and the beef is to die for. Everyone that tries this dish always comes back to try it again... and it is perfection every time! The only negative, is that the interior is small with limited seating so there is often a long wait to get in. The servers are also phenomenal.

Authentic Italian place. Almost everything has glutenfree option, which made my wife extremely happy. She is gluten sensitive and it's tough to find restaurants like Bonfire. Food, service, cleanliness, mood - all 5 star. Highly recommend.

Came here twice, two different times, and both times the pizza toppings tasted like old odored refrigerated toppings that tasted like other old odored refrigerated things left in their fridge too. Never came back again. I go to Pizzeria Gusto and Cafe 22 instead. Their pizza toppings always taste fresh.

We searched for restaurants with high positive reviews while visiting Winnipeg for the weekend, and Bonfire Bistro had some of the best reviews. Our group of four ordered a little of everything, Pizza, pasta, appetizers, and everything was good. We will be sure to stop there again on our next visit to Winnipeg.

Amazing and celiac safe! We ordered dinner for pick up to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. The kids had pizza and my partner and I each had pasta dishes. Unbelievably good. I was so impressed with the service we received when we called. Not only were they super knowledgeable about celiac safe food, but they even made a recommendation for me to change my 9 year old’s order as they might find it too spicy. They are fastidious about physical distancing and have a well thought out plan for carry out service and dine in. Sorry that I didn’t take a photo - we scarfed it down too quickly!

Came for supper, had a pizza. Took a little bit for us to be greeted, but got a seat in a good amount of time. Very prompt and friendly table service. The pizza was phenomenal. It didn’t even take too long to come out. The restaurant had a good atmosphere and was clean. Only downside was the lack of parking, although it wasn’t difficult to find a spot. Will definitely be going back.

My 85 year old grandmother decided she was taking my partner and I out for dinner, and we choose Bonfire Bistro. The food was pretty good, but the server, Jon was amazing. He was so patient and sweet with my grandmother, never rushing her, always making sure she understand everything; very respectful and patient. The pizza cook was great as well, as when she saw me looking for a place to stash my grandmothers walker, she jumped from behind the counter to move some chairs, so it could be close but safely out of the way. The food was good, but we are going back for the service. Thank you!

First timer...take out....had braised beef brisket with gnocchi, and it was excellent. Meat was melt in your mouth, and the dish was very flavourful. Service at the counter was good, but could have been friendlier.

This is my first and only review for a restaurant. The food here is freaking amazing! The lamb was tender and spiced well while the risotto was cooked to perfection. The waiter was attentive and a gentleman..and food is priced really well. Coming back on my bday for sure.

The ambience and food is just amazing. A bit pricy but definitely worth it. The gnocchi & braised beef short rib is so delicious that it will increase the chance of you getting a yes from your date/parents/boss. More effective when paired with red wine.

Worst service ever. Honestly service was so bad it was almost laughable. Food was good but the lack of service and the rude server didn’t make up for it. Don’t go there if you expect to have good service with friendly attitude. You won’t get it. Added the response from the complaint, as you can see I don’t believe that any business should resort to talking like this to a customer. The dessert was only one part of the experience, and I was fully prepared to take this review down but the response was so unprofessional that I feel that people should know how this business responds to customers with a legitimate complaint.

We had dinner tonight and the meal and service we're spectacular ???? We tried the Portuguese Water Bread with hot spinach and artichoke dip to start. At our table of 4 we had the Arctic Char, Paella, and the Spicy Chicken Pizza. All the dishes were phenomenal. We will definitely return again.

I absolutely love this place! We weren't very hungry when we got there, but when the food arrived we couldn't stop eating! The chicken with figs, veggies and potatoes was unbelievable. The mac and cheese was one of the best we've had. We also ordered two local beers and one sangria, all delicious. The servers were very friendly and patient when we took a while to order. We will be back many times.

We couldn’t get a reservation at other restaurants close to Christmas but Bonfire Bistro doesn’t take reservations. We were told if we arrived around six the wait wouldn’t be long. We only waited about five minutes. The menu has salads, pastas, pizzas and several entrees The Mediterranean seafood soup was delicious , full of seafood and with several pieces of thick crusty bread. The special- t-bone veal steak was excellent, the seafood pasta was also very good. Wine prices seemed reasonable. The restaurant is casual but comfortable. Service was attentive but not hovering. The five of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and felt we wouldn’t have had similar meals in other restaurants.

Very disappointed in the service here. Came in for my gfs birthday was told there would be a 10min wait so we were seated at the bar. Waited 10 mins to be asked if we wanted a drink. After 20 mins we see a table open up and cleaned only to seat another couple that walked in after. Another 20 mins go by and still no table. After an hour of waiting and no one coming to let us know a table was coming we left.i Definitely wont be coming back here again . We would have been fine ordering food while sitting at the bar. Next time it’s better to be honest to your customers then telling them it’ll be 10 mins and leaving them waiting there for over an hour.
