Our experience at Bellissimo was amazing! We were traveling through Winnipeg on our way to Ontario and stopped in for dinner. Jennifer, our server, was professional, friendly and attentive. She made us feel like valued customers. The pizza highlighted house-made cured meats that was flavourful without being overly salty. My gnocchi was incredibly soft and pillowy and the dish was filled with spinach, crispy pancetta and moist chicken. Despite being pretty stuffed from our pasta, we ordered dessert, and we sure are glad we did. The zeppole were scrumptious balls of sugared, deep fried dough accompanied with some lemon curd. It was a perfect way to end this meal after a long day of driving.

The delivery was quick, the food was hot. I personally found it a bit pricey for the apparent quality of food. It's definitely one of Winnipeg's best local Italian joints. But, not my go-to spot. The lobster mac and cheese seemed bland, but the pasta was cooked wonderfully Al dente. The fresh bun that comes with it was seasoned and flavour; warm, and buttery. The pizza sauce was great, the dough had a good chew. The toppings did not hit home for me, personally.

Ordered by phone for pickup, was told 40 minutes, food came out in about 50 minutes. Waited 10 minutes by the bar. Lobster mac and cheese is excellent but I feel like there's too much sausage and not very much lobster. I feel like telling them I intended to use a show and save coupon got me a slightly lesser meal than last time but hey maybe it's just me. Still love the lobster mac and cheese here.

Haven't been here in awhile. I remembered that had good gnocchi but I went for the ravioli which was squid ink pasta with shrimp and cream cheese filling. It was sweet and exceptionally flavorful. It wasn't enough due to how good it was, but I knew it was actually quite heavy in the back of my mind. My only complaint was the food wasn't piping hot, but I have found some restaurants serve it at "serving temperature." So their clients don't burn their mouths. I use to be very explicit in my desire for piping hot food, so I don't fault them unless I specifically ask. In this case I hadn't asked. I was less impressed with the cannelloni. The flavor blend just didn't stand out. Betty liked it however. The desserts were fantastic. A dense Lemon cheesecake with soft whipped meringue. The other was a chocolate gluten free cake that reminded me of the no sugar added brownies at dessert Sinsations in flavor. This was the best service I've had in awhile professional but very friendly and personable. This was balanced on a 4 or 5, but for the service I gave it a 5. I do adjust on subsequent visits if I feel it warrants a change.

Our family of 6 adults has made it a tradition to treat ourselves to a nice dinner just before Christmas. The restaurants have included the Gates on Roblin, Bailey's, Rae and Jerry's, Tre Visi Cafe and Café Dario. Each of these provided an enjoyable dining experience. Equally enjoyable was last nights dinner at Bellissimo. We ordered two plates of the appetizer special Salmon Fritters which were very tasty. The dinners ordered were Pesce Asiago, Pollo Ripieno and the Vitello Parmigiana and each of us expressed how much we enjoyed the meals. We were full after the main course (including salads) but agreed we had to end the evening sharing the Turtles Cheesecake. Three of us had B52 Coffees. The restaurant was packed with customers which I think is an indication of the great customer service provided and the quality of the food.

Been to this place a couple of times now. We really enjoyed it. Both times I had a pasta dish for my main and really enjoyed them both. Today I had the speghetti con polpetta. It was fantastic. The meat balls were super tasty. My wife had a salad she really enjoyed too. We started off with a mussel and clam dish. It was nice. We also shared a dessert, the lemon meriagne cheesecake. It was a good choice. I highly recommend this place, and we will certainly be back.

The food here is fantastic! Everything is scratch made. The chefs pay attention to every detail. I rarely eat pasta at restaurants because it usually is very over cooked, but this place is one of the few I make an exception for! If you want to enjoy a lovely dinner here, give yourself at least 2 or more hours of time. We gave ourselves 1 hour and 45 minutes for dinner and by the time we got our dinners we had to scarf it down as we had pre purchased tickets to a movie. That part was unpleasant and frustrating. You get a beautiful dinner and you've 10 minutes to eat it! The seating is a bit cramped which also means very little privacy. I will eat here again most deffinately but not on a day with time sensitive plans afterwards! Service was great!

Probably my favourite Italian place in the city. Always come here for special occasions. Aragosta and Carbonara are my top two favourites here. Last experience with their patio was a bit sad, we were told wait time is 45-50 mins (they got my name and phone number), then after an hour, I called them to confirm if we’re still going to get a table, was told a table will be available soon. Then 15 mins have passed and still no table. In total we waited 1.5 hours for the people to leave a patio (they’re already done eating and drinking but they still stayed on their table for more than 30 mins talking). Since it’s pandemic, they can only sit limited customers in their patio, we waited since we really love the food here but I think waiting for 1.5 hours is not acceptable. I recommend maybe they should limit the time people can stay at the patio so other customers don’t have to wait for 1-1.5 hours just to eat. We arrived at 6:30pm and didnt’t get to eat til around past 8:00pm (since they had to cook our orders). Food here is very delicious. Service, staff and atmosphere are clean, friendly, quick and efficient. Price can be expensive here but it’s worth it in my opinion. I’m a BIG Pasta lover and they have the best Pasta I’ve ever tasted. Hope the next time me and my family come back here, we don’t have to wait tooo long again.

Over the years my family and I have frequented Bellisssimo quite regularly. Service, food quantity, and quality have always rated 4-5 stars. However on our last visit in March. The waiter; MANNY S. was very rude and unprofessional. My halibut was extremely over cooked and rubbery. I politely expressed my concerns. Manny, instead of offering to replace it with another order of halibut chose to check the filet himself. He took my knife and started cutting into my filet many many times. It was butchered. He said it was cooked perfectly. The accusation of not knowing anything about fish. My reaction along with my guests were complete shock. He left. I would have preferred to have another order however that was never an option. He never came back to our table until we paid the bill. He asked how our dinners were as we were exiting. My response again was "everyone else's dinners were great and my fish was over cooked as I mentioned before." It wasn't eaten, nor was it taken off the bill. This experience makes it very difficult to return.

Food's almost there. An overabundance of RAW garlic (seriously, a minute or two in a hot frying pan would go a LONG way), but the pizza is unreal in a good way. Service is...Attentive when the server is at your table. I've watched one server spend more time chatting with their friends than serving the rest of the full lounge. Haven’t been in a few years and I was super disappointed. There was a total of 8 tables in the place..maybe 20 guests with 2 servers, a host an expo/busser and maybe a bartender on. Our service started out good but as our server got busier he seemed to forget about us. Reminder: there were 20 guests total in the place including the lounge. He slipped a bill on the table without asking if we wanted separate bills. We were clearly 3 individuals who were not on a date, family or having a business meeting! Then when I asked for separate bills in a very polite manner 15 minutes later when he finally came back, he snapped at me saying, “It’s going to be a minute then!!”. He eventually came back and threw the new bill on the table and grabbed the old one and crumpled it up and stormed away. There was no acknowledgement of our debit cards on the table. No polite, “ I will be right back with a machine!”. He treated us like we were bothering him. We are all GM’s of restaurants so this service was atrocious to us. In the midst of a pandemic your staff shouldn’t have to be reminded that they should be grateful for community supporting them. Super disappointed. On top of that, the food was mediocre. The Caesar salad tasted like raw garlic cream and the pizza was doughy and thicker than displayed in the picture in their menu. Had a check back been done while we were eating, we could have mentioned it. The server’s name was Manny. He was brutal. The female server working tonight seemed to be pleasantly conversing with her guests (1/2 of the 20 in the restaurant), not crashing and being a “server”and not an “order taker” like Manny. If I were to go back and he was my server.. I would just leave. I also wouldn’t have pizza!

Fun Traditional Italian Restaurant with a bar and dining area. Our party of 5 had a reservation on a busy Saturday but sadly were given a table in the bar area, which was much louder than I had anticipated. Very crowded for a Saturday night, which is a sign of good food. When entering the restaurant, all patrons must show proof of vaccination and their ID cards. Masks are worn inside at all times by staff and patrons when not eating. The portions are average. The lobster mac & cheese was bland, but the butternut squash and sage pasta was amazing as was the chicken gnocchi dish. Our waiter was Manny and he was very friendly. Lots of outdoor parking. Reservations recommended, especially for weekend dining.

I ordered from their website today and it said nothing about being closed on mondays and the web site gave me a pickup time for today (Monday) when I showed up there was no one there but my credit card was still charged I phoned and the phone message is from May 16 there was no contact information other than an outdated answering machine message saying to order online. As follow up Greg contacted me to apologize and refunded my credit card. In addition when I ordered the next day he did not charge me for my order. I ordered the Bellissimo Pizza and it was delicious! IUt is rare for a business to take that much responsibility for their mistakes... Kudos to Bellissimo

BEST MAC&CHEESE IN TOWN Today, we went for Mac&Cheese Mondays and it was fantastic. The flavours were great. We know that there is a new Mac&Cheese place in the city called Kevin's in the exchange district. Don't bother going there. Their dishes are not nearly as quality made as the ones from Bellissimo, which is quite ironic since they "specialize" in Mac&Cheese. Bellissimo has a fixed price of 10$ for the Mac&Cheese dishes they have for Mac&Cheese Mondays. Kevin's dishes range to up to 15$ each and are not worth the money. Just wait for Mondays and take advantage of what Bellissimo has to offer. We ordered the Clubhouse Mac&Cheese and the Porcetta Mac&Cheese. They were both made so well. The sauces for both were very creamy. You can taste the quality in the indegredients they use. The Clubhouse comes with a rosé bechamel (a tad of marinara mixed in with bechamel). Perhaps the best Mac&Cheese we've had in the city. We're also very happy that Bellissimo doesn't cheap you out on the meats in their dishes. There was a very decent amount of meat in both the Mac&Cheese dishes we ordered. We can't believe we got all that goodness for only 10$ each!!! We also had their Mango Sangria which was so delightful and such a taste of summer in the cold weather we have now. It's definitely worth trying. For dessert we had their Caramel Macchiato Creme Brulee (their flavours change) and their Death by Chocolate Cake. Which was just rich and creamy layers of quality chocolate on top of each other. We will definitely be back. It's a wonderful date spot for dinner and a fun place to go for lunch!

We were there for supper last Wednesday evening. I had the lemon veal and thought I had died and gone to heaven, my husband had the cashew crusted chicken and LOVED it, I had a taste and would order that the next time we are in Wpg. My sister in law had the Aragosto and devoured it....my brother in law had the lobster mac and cheese and darn near licked the plate clean....all in all It was FABULOUS...Wish we lived closer.

Five of us adult family members waited more than 45 minutes to be seated for our 7 p.m. reservation (the patrons at our table were loitering long after paying their bill). Elsewhere, we may have left, however, our parents having been here before, suggested we would enjoy the meal once seated. Finally, menus in hand, we mentioned to our server, Patty, that we had been waiting a long time. Patty immediately replied that she would make it her mission that evening to make it up to us. Amazingly, she succeeded! With three different appetizers (comped on our bill) and five different dishes, even the picky eaters in our group were nothing but complimentary. Although the restaurant was packed to the gills on a busy Saturday evening, service (once seated) was excellent. All in all, it was worth the wait and we will be back!

If you have a chance and like Italian you must try this place. I travel North America and 200+ nights out of town per year so am a fairly good judge. I came to this place after reading some reviews and the Gnocchi was highly recommended. I got there and it's off the menu. My waitress said "let me see if they will make it for you anyway"! This impressed me to no end! They did and am I ever glad they did. That was the single best Italian meal I have ever had. I have been to Italy. My friend had a rather delicious looking seafood pasta dish with Lobster, Scallop's, Shrimp and said it was absolutley to die for! It looked it. Suffice to say it deserves 5 stars in our opinion.

By far the worst dinner experience ever. Rissoto was so salty I couldn't even eat it . When I told the wait staff that I was scolde like it was my fault I didn't say something soon. I didn't eat much of it and she had the most disrespectful answer that she would only be taking half the entree off. I've eaten in restaurants around the world and michelen star chefs too and when something isn't good and a customer states that the entree is always removed especially if they didn't even EAT IT. I rarely feel inclined enough to review but for the experience I had here today, I wanted to type out a genuine review about my first and only experience at Bellissimo. I had ordered pickup from Bellissimo (lunch menu). I ordered Carbonara (16) and Lobster Mac and Cheese (18) with a side salad. Upon arrival, the lady had already had the total punched in on the machine and was about to hand me it when I inquired if I could pay part of it in cash and the rest on debit (co-worker's cash). She agreed but didn't seem to know how to do that, so she grabbed someone who I'm assuming is her supervisor to help her enter it into the POS machine. The total came to $40.48. I assumed she had just entered it in wrong because she was new or something so I just said "f* it, i'll just pay it all on debit". I paid the $40.48, thinking nothing of it, and she asked me if I wanted a receipt. I said no and left. About 20 minutes later, my boss comes into the room where I'm eating and says there's a lady on the phone by the name "Bianca" from the restaurant I just ordered from who said that I took my food without paying for it. It was quite embarrassing. I checked my bank account to be sure that it had be charged and it had. So I called them back to figure out what was going on. When Bellissimo picked up and I told them who I was, they were extremely rude and condescending. The man (I do not know his name) who answered said that I should have paid 60 something dollars for my lunch. Of course I inquired because I only ordered 16, 18, and the side salad which is nowhere near 60$. After being put on hold for a few minutes they came back to the phone to say that they had charged me the "wrong" amount and that it was indeed only 40 something dollars. I owed something like 1.50 because they put in the wrong numbers. They told me "not to worry about it" because of the inconvenience, but not even an apology. I offered to come by anyway to pay the rest and they said no and hung up before I could even say anything else. So, they made a mistake on THEIR end and called my place of work to talk to my manager calling me a thief. It was humiliating and completely poor service from them. I'm not impressed at all. Instead of calling to talk to me and ask whether or not I had perhaps left the cash with a different attendant or anything, they opted to instantly accuse me of stealing instead at my PLACE OF WORK. Seems like they wanted to make drama and catch a thief rather than figure things out in a professional manner. I won't be dining there again, and I will be telling everyone I know not to dine there. The food was decent, but the experience I had is not near worth that mediocrity. Just wanted to leave this review so that anyone reading this or the management there know how awful their customer service was to me today, and that it spoiled my lunch/day.

I have been a few times and find the food to be consistently very good. The service is very good, and you never feel rushed through your meal. I gave it 4 stars because their patio is small and sits right on the parking lot and is not very inviting to sit out on.

This place has been an excellent experience time and time again. The Decor is quite nice, and the food tastes fresh and well prepared. Again this is not gourmet Italian food but very well prepared Italian food. The only major down side to this restaurant (and it's a big one) is the level of service. The service is spotty at best but more often then not it is slow, and has an almost unprepared/inexperienced feeling. Too bad an otherwise excellent experience can be ruined by sub par staff. I would recommend trying one of the many other Italian restaurants in the city, there are plenty and they are good.

Went for Mac'n'Cheese Monday. The Veggie Monster was really good. The sauce was more loose or liquid than mac'n'cheese implies though. This is an Italian styled dish, not a gooey, comfort food mac'n'cheese. Fairly quiet at 11:30am. Nice ambiance.

We’ve been to this restaurant several times now, and it has become a favourite of mine. Although it’s always busy and reservations are required for dinner, it’s not pretentious, has no attitude, and leaves a great impression every time we visit. Service is prompt and friendly, and out table of four was attended to from seating to departure by an efficient and polite young staff of bus people, bread people, and our server who was thoroughly professional. The menu is Italian with a Canadian twist (I am pretty sure you won’t find Bellissimo’s Baked Lobster in Macaroni and Cheese anywhere in Naples) and all four dishes we ordered were delicious, although one, the Salcicce, was extremely spicy hot, and was unexpected to be.

First time coming here today, I feel very safe even though it’s during covid. The restaurant has the plastic separator for each table, they ensure we come from the same household, all staff wearing mask and the table (distance) follows the health protocol from the government, it looks sparkling clean. The FOOD is amazing. It tastes very authentic, Ive been to other Italian’s restaurants, but so far this is the best. The dessert tastes very fresh too. The service is lovely too, the staff from the front desk and the two servers that helped us definitely make us feel welcomed. Definitely recommend this place and would definitely come back.

This place was wonderful. Baked brie starter was perfect. We shared a greek side salad that was fresh and crisp with a light and flavorful dressing. Meatballs were huge, and cooked til tender, in a fresh zesty sauce. Chicken with pecan crust was melt in your mouth. We highly recommend this place.

Have a seafood craving, ordered these, both excellent! PASTA ARAGOSTA, plenty of lobster meat; CIOPPINO (A classic Italian seafood stew made with fresh mussels, hardshell baby clams, king crab and tiger prawns, simmered in a spicy marinara bouillon, served with garlic butter herbed toast points.) Services was very good too.

My wife and I frequent Bellissimo at least 2 or 3 times every couple of months and the food has always been extremely flavorful and hot having been prepared from scratch which I might say does take extra time to prepare so we make sure to come to relax with a nice bottle of wine and an appetizer. The food and dessert followed by a double expresso makes for an absolutely wonderful evening. We have found the serving staff to be very accommodating and attentive although at times rushed as this is a busy place for sure which speaks to its popularity....if you don't have a reservation for Fridays and Saturdays your generally out of luck. We are not by any means pretentious but certainly love the recognition whenever we arrive and get seated...a very pleasant smile and "how are you this evening" goes a very long way in taking the edge off a long workday. Bellissimo has been and will continue to be one of our favourite Winnipeg Restaurants.

Awesome. Real homemade italian food. Service is focused on the higher class. Dress code would be recommended. I felt like I was brushed off and our server was too busy conversing with the wealthier tables. Our server didnt ask my date what she wanted for an appetizer. And when i flagged him down to give him her order. He cancelled my order. So we waited awhile for our appetizers and never received our complimentary rolls. Otherwise the entree was phenominal aswell as the dessert. Best creme brulee ive ever had. And my date loved her lemon meringue cheesecake. Food is perfection. Drinks are good. Service needs some work. But definitely get what you pay for. If your looking for a real authentic italian cuisine this is your place. Felt like I was in italy again.

We are new to this part of the city and my finance and i wanted to have food delivered since we were in the middle of moving into our new place. I really wanted to have calamari so we order that and Tavola di buratta also a few other sides.. i was Not impressed when we got our calamari.. it was way over cooked and had already a taste of burnt to it. The tavola di buratta was nice and refreshing! Is was good! The calamari sucked.

Recently experienced first class service here, which greatly complimented the delicious pastas. We were a party of four and we all sampled each other's dishes. All were incredibly good. Went with the wife and kids. Very nice. More upscale than the exterior would lead you to believe. My kids were the only ones at the restaurant, but staff were very accommodating. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. They have a patio, but still closed as it's still cold (Early April). Most, if not all their Desserts are made in house. We had the Creme Brulee and the 'Death by Chocolate' both of which were heavenly. We have already decided that we would go back again sometime.

Always excellent food. Scratch made sauces and desserts. The service is always excellent. A great server knows when to entertain the table and when to step back. We have been 4 times now and it is satisfying to be acknowledged as a return customer when you sit down. I dont know why some folks complain about price vs. Portion size. For the quality you get the portion is perfect. Highly recommended. The only minor complaint is that they have the televisions on in the lounge when it is primarily used as dining room seating. A television is a distraction in a dining room. Otherwise 100%

Always a great dining experience at Bellissimo. Our meals were delicious. Manny introduced us to a new pinot noir which we quite enjoyed. All covid protocols were followed by staff and guests. Thank u Bellissimo for making us feel safe and comfortable!! See u again soon!

Food is decent, very over priced for what you get, the room is very small and tight, but that isn't too much of an issue. The main problem was the service, it is quite terrible. The waitress came by twice during our entire meal and we had empty drinks for a good 20 minutes. For the price you get terrible service and mediocre food. Not recommended, just go to Olive Garden or really any other Italian restaurant.

Our server was very rude, we're not coming back to this place! Instead of offering help to my wife because she was confused with the menu, he asked is she's ok and if she needs an advil... such a sarcastic comment. After handing our bill when we finished our meal, he did not say that he will be back with the machine or something. After a minute of waiting, we stood up to head to the front to pay. He then approached us with the machine and said out loud, I can take your payment, "WE ARE CLASSY HERE". I asked him what did he mean but didn't say anything. So rude... We felt discriminated and was treated rudely. Not coming back here and spreading this to my community.

I normally don't order seafood, but I gave it a chance and I was blown away. Shrimp and Scallops were amazing!!! Also, the bread was served with Oil and Vinegar, but they added a bit of fresh Garlic to that simple dip, OMG!!!

Magnifico! We chose Bellissimo for a special "belated Birthday" supper earlier on this month (February). We'd eaten in the restaurant before, but were wondering how the food would taste after being carted home via curbside pickup due to Covid. We needn't have worried -everything was excellent. Things were off to a great start right from the smooth online ordering: Bellissimo allows customers to to order directly from them for pickup, as opposed to being forced to navigate through a third party delivery service like Skip the Dishes. THANK YOU Belllissimo! The Insalata con fiche was very nice and plenty for two, and the mix of figs, red wine vinegar and candied pecans was Heaven on a salad. Tavola di Buratta was packaged so the yummy toppings were separate from the bread for transport, and they travelled just fine. And entrees Agnello (lamb) and Vitello limone were superb. A bit pricey but worth every cent! And as a bonus, there was sufficient food that both my father and I were able to make two "mini plates" from the leftovers to have the next day. Customer Service is top-notch.. Bravo to the young woman who brought the food and credit card machine outside to my car on a -20C evening, even though I offered to come inside to pay, wearing a mask and latex gloves. This restaurant takes Covid precautions as seriously as their cooking. Can't wait to come back.

Last time there we were with a group. One lady had to send her quiche back 3 times to keep getting it warmed up. After 3 times she just ate it as it was. A tiny melon scoop of ice cream was about $4. I enjoyed what I had and nice place and good parking.

Great for high-end Italian dinner. Not great if you want any substitutions for a menu item (not allowed at all). This makes vegetarian options quite restrictive (they'll remove the meat/seafood, but no alternate, and no price reduction)

Bellissimo is my favorite italian restaurant in the city, however they sure have downsized their menu quite a bit! ???? But its understandable, the cost to do business has went up a LOT, and I like the revised menu! Food was great as always???????? Keep it up Anthony, Greg & team

First time here, everything was amazing, the atmosphere, the drink menu and the food menu. Service was lacking, and we were not brought out bread plates with our rolls. Server was barely there, and we had a hard time getting his attention when one of us dropped a fork.
