You are ashamed of Italian food! I ordered the tortellini (on the waiter's recommendation), a caprice salad and antipasti. The tortellini sauce was just not tasty. Really not tasty! The antipasti was not even edible. Apparently the dish was in the freezer and just thawed it and served it to me with a light heating, half the dish was lukewarm and half the dish was still frozen, I really felt the ice! The caprice salad was nice, nothing more.

We were here a year ago and all we could talk about was the food, the service and the atmosphere. I had Osso bucco and my wife the fettuccine alfredo. Wonderful and would recommend it for a romantic occasion.

Excellent service. They managed to fit us in very last minute during covid. I called for a reservation and they were booked, the restrictions changed the next day and they called me back as soon as they opened to fit is in for the exact time we were looking to be there. Pat came and greeted me as soon as we sat down and he wasn't even our server. Food was excellent, and so was the scotch. Will go again the next time we are in town.

So glad we came here. We arrived not too long before the kitchen closed but they were kind enough to seat us and serve us. The atmosphere was perfect, not too dark and not too dim. Our servers name was Jamal I believe and he was wonderful. Super nice and funny, he gave us a really good drink recommendation, blood orange gin and tonic. Best mussels I've ever had as well. They didn't taste fishy or stale, the white wine sauce it came in was so tasty. For dinner we shared the Osso Bucco I think, which I regretfully took no pictures of but it was the great. You get a bit of both worlds with that one, some carne and you get some pasta. The veal imparted such good depth of flavor into the pasta sauce. Too good. Will definitely return!

Absolutely everything is perfect. Don't let the "pizzaria" in the Google maps description stop you from coming here because it is anything but what you would expect in a "pizzaria" (not that there is anything wrong with that ????). It is an amazing, top notch, dining experience. We stubbled upon it because we were staying close by and wanted something outside the casino (Caesars). We ended up in a place that truly earns the five stars I clicked. If you are in Windsor give it a shot... It is FINE dining, fine service, and the most comfortable atmosphere one could ask for.

This Place was AWESOME!!! Maybe some of the best Canadian food I've had in Windsor & definitely some of the best pasta I've ever had. My wife & I went here to celebrate Valentine's Day. For an appetizer we ordered the calamari which was so tender & fresh. For her main dish she order the steak which was also tender & juicy, very tasty. I myself ordered the seafood pasta but requested a change of sauce which it is usually served with. the food was so good we order an additional appetizer and meal to take home for family to try.

Most amazing homemade meatball sandwich, no store bought sauce or meatballs. The Spring mix salad with balsamic dressing simple yet so tasty! Employees where so kind and helpful! Highly recommended if you are in the area. Now to wait for the patio to open so I can try the pasta with a glass of wine. Hands down the best lunch ever!

I had not been here in a long time and I am glad we decided to have dinner here. The service and meal was excellent. Veal prepared just right...yum! Tiramisu devoured...lol. The home made beignets also very good and hot! Definitely recommend eating here!

This is the second time I've submitted this review, why it keeps going away is another matter.. We went out on a Saturday night to a concert at the casino. Made reservations here for 7:30 PM. I have been a customer of La Guardia for well over 25 years and was a regular here for lunch for many years, along with occasional dinners. This is the second bad experience in 3 years and I won't be going back. The dinners ordered was a seafood dish, and I attempted to order pasta with meat sauce and meatballs. We started off with Caesars and bread, no alcohol. Although the salads were ok, and the bread ok, we were charged $4.95 for 4 pieces of bread after our first order. The seafood dish was (as described to me) "horrible" and "chewy". The waiter told me that at 7:30 on a Saturday night "WE HAVE NO MEATBALLS".. Seriously? What Italian eatery has no meatballs on a Saturday night ? And as a long time patron of this restaurant, I am fully aware of the taste of the food here.. What hit my plate was NOT the food I have been accustomed to. This was exactly like "Spaghetti-O's" sauce.. If you were blindfolded in a taste test, you would swear it was a bowl of canned crap. Nothing like the garlic filled joy I used to eat here. It's really gone to the dogs. And our final price tag on this huge production?? Just under $90.00 for 2 people with no alcohol. Wow. My advice to anyone considering eating here. I know Windsor has lost some great places to eat over the last few years. But bite the bullet, walk the extra 2 blocks and hit The Keg. Dollar wise you're way better off. And the food is at the very least consistent. I would run.. not walk.

I absolutely loved this place. Food was great and it was our first time there. We are travelers and we look for good food and I highly recommend this place. However the waiter we had took a half hour to bring our bill and it seems like it was done intentionally. When he brought back my change it was only half of it and he had to leave again to go get the other part of it. Just to check us out it took him 5 or 6 times back and forth to the table and he ran away so fast before I could say anything to him. Not sure if it was just because we did not get big meals or spend so much but we had good service up until it seems like we ordered the food.

The cannelloni was awful... over cooked, dry and could taste the freezer burn, I had two bites of it and was never asked what was wrong with it and when the waiter asked to box it to go my dad said no she doesn’t want it and still never asked what was wrong with it. My mom had the veal Marsala... the veal & mashed potatoes was good but the vegetables was half hot and half cold...the bread was over cooked... dry and burnt... very disappointed overal for price, quality and service. Would not recommend this place at all.

Tuesday Sept 15, 2020. Everyone should be aware of the fact that this place is open for dining in now. They also have built a patio on the front. Best lunch option in Windsor. Great prices, great service and great atmosphere!

Waited an hour for a plate of pasta while other patrons, that arrived after us, ate and left before we were served. Pasta was tasteless, had to load it with salt & pepper ( which i never use on any meal ) . Waiter offered neither an apology or explanation. This was a weekday before 6:00 P.M.

We have heard so many great things about this place and all those people weren’t wrong. Service was wonderful. Our server Danielle was the sweetest. She gave us very good recommendations and attentive throughout our meal. I liked that the food didn’t just come out back-to-back but it was very good pace. The menu was a bit overwhelming (there’s a lot to pick from) but we are glad what Danielle recommended spoke to us so we went with them. We went on a weekday night, but since it is not a huge place, if you are coming on a weekend, reservation would be helpful. Next time we will come back to try pizza!

This place has great food. Everytime I have dined here, and that is over a handful now, the food is superb. The wait staff is very friendly. The only negative is that it is a very tiny restaurant therefore seats are very very close to each other if you have a larger party. I would highly recommend this place if you have a party of 4 or less.

We have dined in here previously and the food and value was outstanding! Sadly disappointed in an order I received delivered through DoorDash. The tiramisu first of all was the smallest piece I have ever seen for $10 (up-charged through DoorDash), they charge $8, which is still insane! The tiramisu was also mediocre tasting, nothing worth writing home about. Regarding our entrees, the chicken was delicious, asparagus however undercooked. Osso bucco was perfect! The pizza also very good! I guess when you spend $100 (plus the DoorDash fees and up-charges) on dinner you have expectations and based on previous experience I was disappointed. Will I order again? I’m undecided at this time. I also contacted the restaurant when I seen the size of the dessert and was in utter shock! The gentleman I spoke to (he didn’t identify himself) didn’t really seem concerned about customer satisfaction and gave no means to rectify my complaint.

I ate here and the food was mediocre, I ate here years ago and it was superb. It's a shame to see La Guardia turn into what it is. My service was horrible, the waitresses try to dress for tips during lunch, I was left without water while I heard talking and laughter from the back. There is very little room while being seated. La Guardia used to be so spacious. The food isn't garbage, but it doesn't compare to what it used to be, and the salads and pastas are definitely NOT WORTH WHAT YOU PAY FOR THEM. Hope to see it turn back around, but it's been downhill for the past decade, and I don't see it happening.

An absolute must as if you are a Windsorite or are visiting Windsor. La Guardia is a gem! The staff are so friendly and warm, we always feel at home when we come. They are so knowledgeable and can help offer suggestions if you are unsure ( as my Fiance always is). You can take your time and relax here, and some one is always checking on you but not to the point where the ambiance or your experience is altered. My water glass was always full. Pat is amazing at what he does. His knowledge and passion for the restaurant sows via every action. He wants you to have the best night possible. He helped me with wine pairing ideas and solidified my to the choice of Lamb. The food was soooo good that I think my fiance and I barely talked. From the free bruchetta to start to dessert, I think we said Mmmmm with every bite. It just seemed to get better and better with each course. Great ambiance, very warm staff, the food is mind blowing and GARLIC!!! What more do you need? you will kick yourself for not trying this place earlier and it will become one of your top dating spots! So many delicious menu options!

La Guardia is an excellent choice for dinning out. The service is fast and it is not a very large restaurant. Its small and cozy. Its best to make reservation on the weekend. You can find groupons as well so its worth while to purchase. The portions are fair and the food is delicious. There is nothing bad I can say about La Guardia.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Windsor, hands down. Cozy and casual yet elegant dining room, with an authentic, 'old world' italian menu with a large variety that leaves you wondering what you'll get next time you visit! It's clear why this place has been in business for 40 years, and you'd think they haven't raised prices since then...price/value is unparalleled. If you're looking for a downtown hidden gem, this is it.

The food was amazing, I’m actually very excited to go back for the food. The service however was very strange. We constantly saw people heading into the kitchen and there were probably 20 wait staff working that night (which is a lot considering the size of the restaurant) however no one was on the floor for a lot of the time. Water took forever, they took the longest time to take our orders or our menus etc. Aside from that, great experience!

Enjoyed an absolutely divine experience at the Chef's table. From the moment we arrived the staff was welcoming, our wine pairing hostess was friendly and paired our cocktails, wine and specialty coffee according to each dish...the Chef went above and beyond with each exquisite entree he served us. La Guardia has a perfect ambiance setting..upper scale casual..intimate...cozy. The Chef's amazing skill...the staff's friendly and professional service will continue to bring us back. I am floored La Guardia isn't rated one of the the top 3 restaurants of Windsor.... hence "Windsor's Hidden Gem"

This by far has been one of the best experiences my wife & I have had. From the time we entered until the time we left, we had exceptional service! Michael checked on us, Danielle served us & McKenzie our beverages. The food was hot & seasoned well. Very, very disappointed with my recent visit. My husband and I took a family member out for a birthday lunch. We haven’t been in a number of years and we were really looking forward to our lunch as in the past the food was so good. My veal parm was over cooked and tough. My husband asked for a different pasta and was told no problem. The server did not inform us there would be an additional charge of $4.00 for a plain spaghetti instead of penne. We ordered a bottle of wine that we usually get at LCBO (nothing fancy) and we’re charged 4x the retail price. We also ordered an order of garlic bread for 3 people and it was served as 4 tiny slivers for $8.00. Ridiculous pricing on food and drinks for a lunch menu. Unfortunately we both will not be back. This is not the LaGuardia we enjoyed over the decades and pre Covid.

My boyfriend took me here for a date night and I was thoroughly overjoyed. We did not have reservations, but they were able to take us right away. The atmosphere was very inviting. They had some live music in both Italian and English which I thought added a nice touch to the experience. The food was unbelievable, portions were very generous. Will definitely go again!

After being unable to get reservations at another Italian restaurant we decided to try La Guardia. Best decision ever. Food was phenomenal. Our waitress Cayla was very personable and service was superb. We just don’t know why they aren’t busier. We sat on the outdoor patio where all other tables were empty on a Friday evening when weather was beautiful. We will definitely return.

Have been coming for years, especially for my birthday and last night was a disappointing experience. The service was meh, mind you it was a Monday and not very busy. The bruschetta (appetizer) didn’t come out until after our meals were served and the food wasn’t as good as usual. My boyfriends pasta was undercooked we think, as it was chewy, and the server didn’t really seem to bat an eye when we said something. He reheated the pasta today, which softened it up, but that’s how it should have been served. Really disappointing birthday dinner for somewhere we usually enjoy ourselves.

My absolute favorite restaurant in Windsor. The fillet mignon is always the best cooked to perfection every time I go I am never disappointed. Pat is the best server in the place and always knows his stuff and treats us right. This is an incredible hole in the wall Italian restaurant with semi-formal to formal attire where you get to feast on some of the best food Windsor has to offer. Would recommend to anyone. There are also great Groupons for this restaurant for couples and groups of 4!

I have been visiting La Guardia for years. Always great service and food. The atmosphere is a perfect break from a busy day. I had the veggie sandwich which is always delicious along with the soup of the day. Nothing better than a homemade meal i didn't have to make. Even grabbed some of their delicious homemade tiramisu to take home for dessert with the family tonight.

I waited 15 minutes after I sat down for my server to take my order. I then called him over and said I am ready to order he said okay and walked off continuing to do other things. I still waited and watched him walk by my table 3 times AFTER I said I’m ready to order. By that point I got up walked out the front door I told him I was leaving and all he said was ok. Instead of apologising and insisting me to stay. He has horrible customer service skills and should not be working there. Very disappointed in this restaurant and their staff.

Came in for dinner with my wife for the first time this evening and we were not dissappointed. The food and service were fantastic and the ambience was very romantic. I would highly recommend this place for your next date night!

My husband and I had an exceptional dinner at La Guardia last night. The facade might not look as welcoming, but inside, you feel carried away into this elegant setting. The food was lovely, especially the calamari. It had a really fresh feel to it. Marcello, our server, offered exemplary service and paid attention to every single detail. We will surely recommend the place and will go back when we can for the service and the calamari!

A night to remember Went to dinner there with my wife. Have sampled Joe's cooking talents at LCBO events and he did not disappoint. Perfect atmosphere, romantic music, good service. Sizes were ample - only disappointment was they didn't go on forever. Only wished they would. Huge salad to start was a meal in itself. Had filet mignon and it was classic, exquisite in every way. Will go back any time.

We were there on Feb 15 for dinner. The food was excellent but the service from our server, Daniel, was disappointing. He did not inform us of the specials (while we were eating I overheard another server telling his table), we had to ask for the bread, and when I ordered pasta in olive oil with my vitello limone instead of potatoes and carrots, he did not tell me that would be an additional $5. No other restaurant has ever charged me for that substitution. The pasta came in a separate bowl and there were tomatoes in it. I don't like tomatoes. Will we be back? It's doubtful.

Honestly, I would have rated higher if it was based on just the customer service and the food. I called earlier to make a reservation for a group of 5. Then I asked if the server I like (Sarahmae) was working, and if she could serve my table. The man on the phone told me that she was bartending that evening. So I proceeded to ask if she could serve my group, if we sat closer to the bar area. The man informed me again that she was bartending, and would be unable to do both. Since he didn’t seem to give me any other options, I resulted in asking if my group could sit in the bar. I’m irritated and upset that I wasn’t even attempted to be accommodated, or given a second thought to something as simple as a request for a staff who was already working that same evening. Not to mention that when I walked in, there wouldn’t have even been a table in the bar to fit 5 (unless we sat at the bar itself). We were very surprised Sarahmae ended up serving my table (in the dining room). She seemed to have spoken with the other server working and he seemed willing to oblige our initial request for her. She left my group very happy, as she provided great service and even went the extra mile to provide us a birthday dessert. Thank you for ending our experience on a high note, despite the sour taste we had before going in.

Best Italian Eatery in town!! I won't go anywhere else for authentic Italian cuisine but La Guardia. Every time I go there I order so much food that I need to take some home for lunch for the next day because it is so amazing. I go at least once a week for lunch or dinner and the portion size is awesome, the food is to die for and the people there are nice and friendly. I have absolutely no complaints about this place!!!

Top choice event catering My wife and I got married over the weekend and La Guardia catered our wedding reception. We absolutely loved the food served and so did all of our guest. Many people honestly said their meal was one of the best they've had at a wedding. From the moment we went to the restaurant to inquire about their catering service we had a pleasant experience. Joe, the chef who walked us through all of our meal plans for the evening, went above and beyond our expectations. He attentively answered all of our questions with great detail and made sure that our evening was perfect. Our entrée's for the evening were personally tailored to our needs from start to finish. We had the chance to taste our meal ahead of time to make sure we enjoyed what would be served. Dishes for the evening: - Bruschetta - Primerva Salad - Tortellini La Guardia - Veal La Guardia - Pollo Limone - Steamed vegetables Our meal was served buffet style prepared for 135 guest and arrived the day of our wedding fresh and ready to plate. The food did not waiver in flavour or quality from when we first sampled our main coarse weeks before. Portion sizes were also generous and the overall price was quite reasonable. We can't describe enough in length how incredible chef Joe was throughout our entire process. Our wedding would not have been as successful without his help. We are confident should you choose La Guardia to cater your wedding or any event for that matter. You will not be disappointed.

This is a very nice restaurant in downtown Windsor. Very close to the Casino. The food here is fantastic! They offer a wide variety of Italian food - pasta, seafood and steak. The house bruschetta is very good as well. They do offer specials and are active on Groupon. We haven't tried the dessert menu, but I am confident it excellent.

Not sure what hype is about...dinned with group of 4, not a single dish stood out as delicious. Our service was terrible; stuck at a tiny table until asked for another to be added so we could be comfortable, all water glasses empty, had to ask for utensils. Not impressed, will not be dinning here again.

During covid we have been unable to dine in however I've ordered from La Guardia several times takeout/delivery and not been disappointed. Great salads, fresh vegetables cooked into their dishes. I recommend the Spaghetti Carbonara, the Salmon Filet and try their pizza too.

This place is now one of our favourite restaurants. If we could give it more stars we definitely would have. It was classy, comfortable fair priced perfect spot to go and spend a few hours catching up with friends during a more than super meal and drinks from their yummy drink menu!! Staff are unfriendly and lied about tables being taken. Arrived at 6:40 with no reservations. We're told that there are two reservations for 6:30 that have yet to show up. Were told if they don't show by 7:00, they will give us one of the tables. By 7:00 neither of the reservations showed up but we were told that there is no tables for us. Strange since both tables were empty. Horrible customer service. What a waste of time......

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and service at this restaurant . All dishes that we ordered were absolutely fabulous. Seafood risotto was the best I ever had, baked aranchini , roasted pepper salad and linguini with clams, mussels and scallops were so delicious that we still taking about it. Thank you!

The food was delicious! I rated a 3 because it was too small for how many people they pack in there. They separated a larger table into 2 before seating us so they could accept more guests (which didn't happen) so we were getting bumped into by waitresses rear ends as they served other tables. This happened all while there was an empty table taking up room that we could have been more spaced out with. There was absolutely no acknowledgment everytime they bumped into us so it makes me wonder if they are bumping into peoples chairs and elbows their whole shift bevause of how crowded it is. The bus boy got a little eager and sprinkled parmasan cheese all over the table cloth as he put it on one of the dishes and spilled a bit of water on the lap of someone at our table because he refilled it while holding it overtop of our friends lap. It was extremely hot inside the restaurant to the point where people were talking about it. No complaints about the food at all. Our waitress was very nice and attentive.
