Called ahead to ask if there was a lineup or if I can make a reservation. Was told there is no lineup and it’s first come first serve. Got there within 5 minutes and was told there was a wait, as they took a group of 7 ahead of us and told us they were at their 50 person capacity. Waste of time. Could have let us know they were close to capacity. Best lasagna in the city though.

I like this place. The price matches the quality and quantity of the food that you get. Staff is really friendly. They have best Calamari at least in Windsor. Ambience is nice, its busy at evenings so, it can get a little noisy.

I love Jose's. I truly do. The staff, food, ambiance -- everything. While it can get a bit loud on busy nights, its still worth it. The prices match the quality and I've never once left disappointed! I've been here close to probably 30 times. Its worth it.

First day back to patio eating, got there at 3:45 and the patio was already full. Food was good and service was also. It's a little more expensive than some restaurants but it was just nice to get out and eat again.

This is popular with locals for good reason. There are many servers to move food,drinks and tables efficiently and remain upbeat and welcomingly helpful. My pasta was superb being very substantial in a smooth sauce. The chicken wrap was perhaps hastily prepared having warm and cold sections and loosely rolled. Technical points but need to be stated.

Love the cocktails and the Toscana pasta. Jose's wonder and Cappelletti were not very impressive though. A bit bland and not as flavorful compared to the Toscana.

We stopped in on a Saturday night, it was busy and we got lucky they seated us right away. We have not been here in a few years. The interior has been nicely done and looks great. They have a large menu with a variety of options. Our food came out quickly and arrived hot. Our meals were both very good. The service was very good as well. We will be back! If you are coming with a larger group, I would recommend a reservation.

Patio was beautiful! Food was delicious! Hostess was hustling. MOD (or owner?) and a few servers were not wearing masks properly (either not at all, under their noses or under their chins) while talking to customers at their tables and/or while delivering food. Watched our waitress walk over to a table, remove her mask and begin hugging known customers. After requesting that our server wear her mask while at our table, she did pull it back on and kept it on, but we didn’t feel like we should have had to tell her. Overall, we did not feel comfortable and will not be back due to lack of health and safety protocols during this time.

The food is great! Absolutely no complaints about the quality of every dish. The pricing is a bit steep however. The service unfortunately was not up to par. It seems that management may need to play a larger role in staff coordination as the staff we did have tried hard, but fell short in providing the level of service I expected.

Over the years, this place has definitely tried to market itself as a fancier place, but it isn't; changing decor and charging more for pretty basic food is a weird business model. Prices are such that I'm not going there unless I know it's a deal day (1/2 apps, wing wed., 2for1 fish, etc). Food is normal but expensive for what it is (I've eaten at least 90% of the items on the menu), decor is nice, service is almost always slow. Servers seem to generally be inexperienced, but I have NEVER gotten anything incorrectly made; pretty impressive, but I do note that servers always write stuff down, I absolutely love that. 1/2 price appet

Food was fair but not as good as usual. My wife had the chimichunga with rice and I had the Monday special of full rack of ribs with fries. We went in around 5pm and it wasn't busy in there. Both meals came out quickly from the kitchen. They were not hot. They were lukewarm to cool or even parts were cold like they had been sitting there for a bit. Neither of us really said anything about the meals until we left. We probably should have but I think we were both just hungry and didn't care. The service could have been better. The server came around just a few minutes after bringing our meals to check if the food was okay but never asked if we needed a refill on our coffees. We both had our mouths full so all we could do was slip out a quick yes and nod. So really didn't have a chance to ask for a coffee refill as she was gone again and didn't she her until she was dropping meals at table nearby. That was nearly 25 minutes later. We had to flag her down to ask for a refill. By that time we were nearly done. Rather disappointed with the service. Usually it's very good and attentive. I will go back as the is regular favorite for us but hopefully the service is better and the food it warmer or even hot.

I visited your establishment on Howard Avenue last night to celebrate my son's 4th birthday a tradition that we have been doing for years. I have five children and revisit your establishment for every birthday and other special occasion such as graduations and other Milestones. I've been a patron of this restaurant since your doors opened. Let me start by saying that our server last night, Miranda, was absolutely phenomenal and did such an incredible job. She was so kind, well spoken and went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful celebration. Thank you Miranda for being so accommodating and for doing such an amazing job! I had called ahead of time to speak to a Hostess to explain that we would be arriving with a party of 10, including two young children and asked if we could be accommodated as I understand that this is difficult under the new rules concerning Covid. It was explained to me that they would do their best to see us together at Separate Tables. My youngest son whose birthday we were celebrating has sensory processing issues and being in public places that are loud and boisterous often makes him very excitable and unable to regulate his body. Knowing this, I always try to arrange a place for us to sit in a restaurant where we will not be an intrusion to other guests. Upon our arrival at 5:45 p.m. your hostess graciously requested to the manager that we be seated in your upstairs area because of this. The manager had declined and had a seated at the booths to the rear of the bar area. We had our dinner and were enjoying a wonderful celebration. However, our evening ended with an unfortunate and very disappointing incident. As our visit was coming to an end and we were gathering our belongings and paying our bill, the babies were playing and laughing with each other. Let me know that where we were seated there was a partition separating us from other guests so the children were by no means being an intrusion. They were not being disruptive nor disrespectful, they were simply playing and enjoying their time together. There was an employee of yours, by the name of Corine, who was off the clock and had been sitting at the bar drinking and was quite obviously intoxicated. We had overheard her make several comments to our children such as "Don't play on the floor honey, it's dirty" etc. Which was fine, but we were confused as to why she was speaking to our children as they were not being disruptive nor were they invading her space. We let the comments go as they weren't disrespectful in nature at that point, as it seems she was simply playing along with the children. As we were paying our bill, which I will add was close to $300 including a generous tip, the babies were playing and laughing and squealing loudly with each other. This employee, Corine, turned around and screamed at the two children under 4 years of age "Shut the f*** up!" Then proceeded to laugh, along with the other parties in her group. My entire group looked at her, as we all heard her say this and said "What did you just say?". In which she replied laughing saying "Nothing, I didn't say nothing!". The other mother who I was with proceeded to yell at this woman for cussing at her children. I will add it this point that we are a diverse people of colour family. We were immediately surrounded by staff, one server actually approaching the woman I was with in a combative Manor, claiming no such thing was said and we have to leave immediately. One of the patrons, a grown man, approached my 18 year old son and got in his face and the entire population of guests began to verbally assault us for reacting to our babies being sworn at by a drunk employee, who was at this point still laughing and thoroughly enjoying the scene she had caused. The manager then approached us and was saying over and over that we needed to leave immediately. When we asked why we were being forced to leave, and the employee who swore at our children was not, we were not given an explanation. One person in my party asked if the colour of our skin and hair was the reason.

Great experience with great food and great times. We all had the dry rub Cajun with sauces on the side. The ribs are falling off the bone literally and are well spiced and unbelievable value at $16.99 for a full rack of ribs with choice of side. The drinks are also reasonable. The sangria was $7.50, a beer was $6 and a Rye and Coke was $5. Definitely recommend for value, flavour and unmatched and unrushed service.

Went in for a work lunch with our sales team and was really pleased with the choices available. Pricing was very reasonable. Classy place with lots of parking, and our server was able to look after our whole group and they had a nice private room for our party upstairs! Food was delicious and we were thanked by the owner on the way out. We will be back and would highly recommend for a business meeting, special occassion, or nice night out. I wish I can put 0 stars. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Nobody met us at the front today. Well, maybe she just went to bathroom. Then we had very unprofessional older waitress. We were 3 adults and 1 year old infant, yet she brought us 4 menus. Then she dropped my brand new phone from the table on the floor. Thanks God it did not crack. Not sure if it will work good later. Service was bad too. She put few drops of cheese on my salad and run away quick without asking if we want more and I did want more. I asked her later to add cheese when she came back.

I was drawn in by the reviews but after dining here I am let down. We were greeted by a miserable lady who took names and numbers told us to wait which we did, understandable, but a couple came after us and was seated before us. When we finally were seated we were shown to a table by a small blonde host who threw our menus on the table and walked away. The food was below average, chicken parm, chicken tetrazzini and flat bread were bland. The drinks were very good but the atmosphere of loud drunk men who smell of beer and construction was less than satisfying. The calamari smelled terrible. The only reason why I am giving 2 stars was due to our amazing waiter he was a delight and the drinks.

I went to Jose’s tonight because I had friends from out of town visiting. I have always loved going there but tonight the service was terrible. We had to ask for cutlery, tartar sauce for fish, sauce for sweet potatoes that had been ordered. After dinner had coffee and had to ask for cream and the server still didn’t bring it so I had to go up and ask for the second time. I was very upset and disappointed because I was the one that suggested this restaurant. The food as usual was delicious

I took 4 others to lunch today and sat outside in the very pleasant atmosphere. Having heard about the spectacular ribs, one order was placed. The ribs did not live up to our expectations as they were not very warm and we are now thinking that they would not have been freshly cooked at 11:30 AM. We think they may have been poorly reheated from the evening before. Very disappointing experience for one of our favorite restaurants. Everyone else was pleased with their food.

The food was good but was priced better than good. Probably my own fault for getting takeout during dinner time on a saturday night. No bacon on a bacon cheeseburger and a very small portion of fries. The chicken fajitas seemed rushed as the peppers and onions were still very crunchy. Based on the other reviews I'm thinking my experience was the exception rather than the rule though.

Enjoyed the Senior menu which is a really great deal. About eight meals to choose from at varying prices. Each meal includes coffee or tea, your meal with one side dish of salad, soup, or choice of potato. And dessert I chose stuffed capelletti with blush sauce for $13.99. Not bad price with all the extras when compared to the regular dinner menu price of $19.99 without coffee and dessert, the meal was delicious and generous portion. I took half of it home. Would definitely recommend the Senior menu.

First timer. INCREDIBLE service (Thank you Mellissa V). I loved the homemade extra garlicky Caesar salad that I had TWO servings. The garlic loaf was ok... Not something to write home about but the Capeletti was sensational. A great place to celebrate a friend's milestone birthday. I highly recommend this place for great food that is decently priced. Please try the nachos and salsa... Homemade and nothing like Tostitos lol

8 of us ate here tonight. As a group we rated the meal 33/40. The salmon was great, halibut was greasy. Overall we liked our meals. As a group we rated the service 28/40. My friends sat for 8 -10 minutes looking at their food waiting for their cutlery...had to request it twice. My husband was served the senior portion without requesting it...an assumption he didn't appreciate. It was Christmas season and therefore very busy, but the not-so-great service made our dining experience disappointing.

I absolutely love this location, from the food to the service. My go to is usually the Toscana without the mushrooms or sausage and the cook accidentally put in mushrooms recently, which I get it when you’re used to making something a certain way for so long it’s easy to make it that way. I brought this to the attention of the manager and she corrected it right away with an apology and an offer of dessert that I didn’t end up taking advantage of because mistakes happen and I am just happy I got what I had originally wanted.

All I can say is.... happened to Jose's?! We waited well over an hour for our food, (no one else around us was waiting) extremely tiny portions for kids, & my order was completely forgotten. The server said they made the first burger 'too crispy' but they did a head count & realized my plate was missing... so that was said to save face- it was obvious it was forgotten. Everyone was finished eating by the time my food came out, so I had to take the food to go. It was such an awkward experience. Of course I understand it can get busy, but I am unable to justify this service. I don't mean to harp, but it was it was really, REALLY bad.

Best restaurant in Windsor by far. Perogies are the absolute best I’ve ever had from here compared to any other place. All food is delicious and they are very nice when an order was messed up and gave a gift card for the inconvenience. Really appreciate that as other restaurants don’t care as much and take time to bring the customers business back. Love this place!!! Definitely recommend. Won’t disappoint

A great joint with pleasant ambiance. Parking is ample. Food mostly fresh. Prices are somewhat above average (not much for average these days....lol). Service is definitely above average. Our waitress Melissa was kind, prompt and pleasant. We liked the garden salad with the superb house dressing, the cezar salad was excellent. I ordered the golden fried haddock that is delicious. All in all a pleasant and worthy experience!

The restaurant does not provide food delivery service, the website doesn’t work, you have to be physically present in order to get your food from this restaurant. Amazing customer service, delicious organic food, low fat menus option, vegan options and great atmosphere indoors and outdoors. The restaurant even offers non alcoholic cocktails too, just ask your waiter. The managers and employees are unbelievable attentive, professional and friendly.

So… we order 4 drinks for $33.90. Good price and Matty our server was great! But… their visa / debit machine goes down. We managed to scratch together $13 in cash. Instead of comping $20 in drinks, manager insists we walk to Circle K to get more cash. I get it. But in 32 degree heat wave, not the most impressive customer service I’ve received. I went there a month ago with some of my friends for dinner. We ordered FOUR Pad Thai, and all of them were disgusting, I have had it before and it was good but this time it felt like rotten eggs. It smelled so bad that I was not able to eat even 1/4 of my portion. One of my friends had his stomach upset the next day. I don’t usually write reviews, in fact this is my first time, but I feel that it was necessary.

I had the goat cheese burger. It was so delicious! It coulda used a little more goat cheese, but then it would've gotten everywhere... more so, I s'pose. The patty was a flavourful as a steak. Now the sweet potato fries were the best I've had yet! They didn't even need the chipotle mayo. The ripply fry texture actually added to the flavour & over all enjoyment. My biggest complaint is that the wee bit O' chipotle mayo I did use was a little too salty & it could've been a little creamier. Sounds like I'm kinda reaching now, 'cause there clearly wasn't much to complain about. Everything was super!

We were from out of town for a hockey tournament. Our awesome concierge from days inn hotel recommended the restaurant. Servers and greeter was super nice and very accomadating right off the hop. Loved the complimentary tortilla chips and salsa. Lovely touch. Beautiful decor. Unfortunately we did not stay for a meal as it was jam packed with hockey families with no handle on their young children. 15-20 kids running in every direction all over the restaurant. I honestly felt terrible for the employees. They were so flustered. Went to Armandos. Absolutely terrible. Would definitely recommend. Very classy establishment.

I was completely surprised. The parking lot was full but no wait times . The strawberry daiquiri was soooooo good.The menu had lots of choices. Staff was curteous and attentive .Dinner was served quickly and was delicious. The best part of it all was that not only was it a beautifully decorated & an intimate evening it was also well priced. Decent portion sizes. Great baby back ribs deal; $15.99 for ribs, choice of 1 side and vinaigrette coleslaw which is available everyday that Jose's is open. Beware of the heat of the medium BBQ sauce because it's almost as hot as the hot. Every table has an umbrella and picnic tables are under a tarp. No mosquitoes even after a rain.

Went to Jose's a couple of weeks ago with a girlfriend to celebrate our birthdays. Pineapple margarita was good but the food was bland. I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich with fries, there was no BBQ sauce or any type of sauce on my sandwich. Fries were ok but not seasoned and I had to take salt and pepper from a table beside us because there were no servers in sight. Decor of the restaurant is beautiful but certainly doesn't align well with the food they are serving. Definitely not worth the hour drive for me and I won't be returning.

Things went fairly well until our meal was done. At that point our server decided to ignore us for 30 minutes when we only wanted the bill. We even got up from our seats to find her but we could only spot her as she ran off to the kitchen and didn't return for 15 minutes... ugh. We strongly considered walking out without paying, but that would be wrong, and the business shouldn't be punished for the waitress's neglect.

I've been there twice and enjoyed my chicken quesadilla and sausage penne. Each meal was just the right portion size that I didn't feel overwhelmed by my plate and didn't feel short changed. The food was cooked well and tasted great. The lunch specials menu came in three tiers and were all affordable. The atmosphere feels modern with a warm touch. Staff is great- I'd like to take friends from out of town here.

My fiance and I ate at this place on August 23rd. We had ordered a chicken parmesan and I had the New York Strip. The meals were cooked nicely. The Caesar salad was amazing. I had a chocolate milkshake that was more half ice and could only finish half of it. Though the food was very good, our server (though she was alert and took our orders properly) not once made direct eye contact with us. She was very hasted/rushed. We would get to the tail end of our sentences and she would immediate start with another question. She was very fast and didn't chat with us much at all. Not that it is a server's duty to chat up a customer but the lack of eye contact was a bit of a bother. Nonetheless, it was a pleasant open-air restaurant. 3 of 5 from this reviewer.

One of our favorite places in the city to grab a drink and an app after work. We love the staff and they make you feel like you're just hanging out with friends. The food is always fresh and delicious. I recommend the chicken avocado wraps on lettuce and the pasta is awesome too! They have a great patio with heaters so even in this crazy time they are trying to accommodate as many as they can. A must visit!

Love this place, the food is great and staff are cool, however the process of getting into the restaurant with their over bearing information grab, even after showing vaccine passports, put me off and I won’t be going back. An establishment that does this ruins the life we are all trying to get back to. Takes the fun out of going to a bar. It’s a shame.

The staff is very friendly and attentive, yet my only complaint is they often are understaffed. That being said they have accommodated my last minute reservations for large groups several times without missing a beat.

I have been going to Jose’s Bar & Grill since 2015, since I learned about this brilliantly lovely eating establishment through our weekly Wednesday group bicycle rides. The menu is wonderful there, lots of great meal choices to choose from, and the portions are quite generous. The prices are quite reasonable, not going to breat your pocketbook. If you leave hungry, that would be strange because, the meal portions are quite generous. If you want a very upbeat, very friendly staff, and service, it is perfect. The staff there will go fully out of their way to make you feel very comfortable, and have you leaving very happy after eating there. To me, Joe’s Bar & Grill is more like the quality restaurants of yesteryears when, you went out to eat, the service, and meals were superb.

I love the food at Jose’s but I was sad on my recent visit to find out that they don’t have the nachos and salsa complementary while you’re waiting for your meal also with the entrées you used to get unlimited soup or salad And bread now you have to pay five dollars extras and you get 1 soup or salad. We love the Jose wonder and the peanut stirfry but there was no Parmesan cheese for the pasta.

I started going there the day it opened . Continued to go there throughout the years . Seen many of the great servers and managers throughout the years. Recently the food has been terrible . Not sure what’s going on. Ordered the famous chicken parm. Portion was half what it was . Very little sauce. Chicken just wasn’t the same. Wife ordered one of the cream pasta dishes . It was terrible . So bland . We ate our kids fries at least. I’m not going to say I’m going there again. Someone in upper management needs to check on the food. I really hope you guys are not cheating out on the food on purpose

Family of 6. Half the food was good other half had no taste. Hit and miss menu. One in the group complained about her sandwich and they offered a free dessert which never came. Also, our waiter stopped coming around half way of our meal. Just was a bad experience and have no plans going back.

The atmosphere was very nice. We were at a high booth in the bar area. First there was excellent soup (chicken and rice) then I had the Grilled Chicken Stack which was very good. I bought myself a Carlton Salad "to go" for lunch the next day. They were very good to package the oranges and the dressing separate from the salad so all that moisture wouldn't wreck my meal by the following day. The mango dressing was amazing. The whole salad was excellent except that it cost 50 cents more than my Grilled Chicken Stack I ate the previous night. I've had other pricey salads from other restaurants but this one was pricier for sure, and didn't fill me up enough for lunch. I'd definitely eat here again, but wouldn't order a meal salad.

This place is a must! They have amazing food and nice outdoor dining. Great options for food, its lowkey a fusion of various cuisines in my opinion. The best entrée was the Toscana pasta; if you love meat and a delicious explosion of 3 different sauces at once, this is definitely the dish for you. Also ordered the Firecracker Shrimp Taco (warning this is spicy) and Peanut Chicken Stir-Fry. Both very delicious too!
