My wife and me have just left the restaurant and we had a very bad experience… it’s our first time to visit this place and based on the reviews we expected spectacular service and food .. the food was not too bad ( average ) but service was not as expected at all .. we waited for an hour dying for food to get our order and no one told us ahead that it would take that long … you should have mentioned once we walked in that it would take that long and we would make up our mind to wait or leave !

Very friendly staff; we changed the time of our booking multiple times and they cooperated really well. It has a very nice and quiet ambience with great customer service. We started with Shrimp Tempura and Sashimi Salad. Followed with Dynamite Roll, Green Dragon Roll, Red Dragon Roll, Philly Roll and Crunch Spicy Salmon Roll. They were all fresh and tasted great. I definitely suggest trying the Sashimi Salad.

The salmon teriyaki is not good and there are too many cheap veggies (not carrots or broccoli). It should have more salmon based on price. The sushis are not fresh. The service is not good. Very pricey! There is no parking. The closest parking is $5 (diner hours).

Had a wonderful experience dining here. Great interiors. Friendly service. Nice presentation. The 16 piece sushi shareable was perfect for two people. That with a shared appetizer made a great lunch for my friend and myself. Definitely recommending this place. Give it a try if you're thinking of sushi.

Yum. This is one of my two favourite sushi places in Windsor. By favourite I mean I don't eat anywhere else. Hikari rolls are full of the good stuff instead of being mostly rice. The menu and taste are phenomenal.

Good atmosphere, there is a large seating area so there usually isn't wait at all to be seated. Sushi is awesome, they do custom sushi, you can tell them what you want inside of your roll and they will make it for you. Great service, the staff is very friendly. Overall a great sushi restaurant.

Had an early dinner there today. My husband and I ordered gyoza, dragon rolls, and 2 chicken udon stir fry dishes. We went while it just opened and only one other table of 2 in there. Lunch took over 1.5 hours. It took 40 minutes to get the rolls, another 20 minutes later for the gyoza, and 20 minutes later for the udon noodles. Because of Covid-19, we didn't have loose change except for $2.50 which assumed sufficient for a restaurant with barely any customers. Wrong. If you go, pay for 3 hours minimum. We couldn't enjoy the meal and sprinted before we could get a ticket. My stir fry dish was soup-y and my leftover was in a flat Styrofoam container which the sauce spilled all over me and then dribbled on the car seat. Why wasn't it packaged in a standup container? Or container placed in a bag? I never understand why businesses go cheap on bags and containers. You're a service industry. Food wise.... Okay. Average. To wait that long, I expected spectacular. The udon tasted more sweet than spicy, more bbq mixed with teriyaki sauce. The gyoza was okay. Not much flavour the filling inside. My husband ate the dragon rolls and said it was okay. Next time I'm craving Japanese food, I'll go elsewhere.

Friday night My friend and I wanted ???? sushi. We decided to go to Hikari. I had never been there before and was ready for a new experience. The restaurant is inside an old victorian styled home on Victoria ave In Windsor Ontario. It has dark wood furnishings, black actually everywhere. Its cozy with a nice relaxed atmosphere. We sat near the window and we could see the sushi being made. I found the food took a long time to come out. One of the servers said there was a reserved party and that was the reason. The food was very good, beautiful presentation. There are no all you can eat options and for two people with no alcoholic beverages it came to 70.00. I would recommend this restaurant.

I would give it a 4 since the only restaurant that I know that offers Bento in their menu. The food is not that bad. I have not tried their sushi yet aside from the sushi that comes with the Bento. I have been hearing stories from people that they have the best sushi in Windsor. I will definitely be back. Oh and the server is very nice. :)

Easily the best sushi spot in Windsor, and probably North America- especially in terms of maki rolls and the like. My fav is the Black Jack (no cream cheese). Everything is super fresh and a lot of care goes into each roll. Great service and the nicest owner (Sue)! Glad she is back in town. You will not be dissapointed on your visit to Hikari!

Haven't been here in almost two years, and so happy to be back. Ordered miso soup and four different rolls, which all were so good. Couldn't even leave a piece even though we were full. Best sushi in Windsor! Service was great and very friendly. One of the servers actually asked if our car was outfront, and prevented us getting a parking ticket since the parking officer was giving a ticket to the next car over. A small gesture that was memorable and appreciative. Can't wait to come back.

A, Sushi and sashimi are great. Appetizers are good as well. But I am really disappointed at the Green Adffogato. It isn’t worth the money at all. Somehow, I think their waitress always have a really really tired face or something. It might just be me. So, if I am wrong, please correct me. I have visited their place for many many times. I have the same feeling as all I mentioned above, food and service. B, when they were busy, I could be waiting for half an hour for their first service. It will last for an hour to get my tea. C, I support the business during COVID. However, their appetizers are not recommended. The side veggies dries out, and the volcano shrimps are terrible. Less portion, and seem to be prepared prepared yesterday.

Finally a legit Japanese restaurant has come to Windsor!! I've been cravig for sushi but couldn't find an authentic Japanese until now. I had to travel all the way to Novi or Troy for sushi. Since new management came into Hikari, I can just come here instead. My most favorite is Samurai roll. Also, their sashimi/nigiri are so fresh too. Great food and friendly staffs! This is a must go in Windsor.

The sushi and udon here is by far the best around! My wife's plan is to order tempura udon EVERYTIME so she can have the best of both and steal my sushi... The tempura udon is amazing, if you haven't tried it make sure you do! Make sure to get a green dragon roll as well!

This place is delicious, kind of high priced compared to other sushi places in Windsor, but worth it. The staff is very friendly. I'm a vegan and when I go to other sushi places, the waitress usually has trouble understanding what veganism is (I'd tell them that I don't eat meat or any animal products, and they'd still think I eat fish and recommend fish items... Which is just... Anyways...) This place was spot on, the waitress pointed me to all their vegan options in a very efficient way. The sushi was fresh, and high quality, I definitely recommend going there.

I've had sushi in Vancouver, Hawaii, S. Korea, and Japan, so I am generally hesitant to eat seafood in a city not located near an ocean coastline. I'm here in Windsor on a work-trip from Toronto, and I decided to give Hikari Restaurant a chance. I ordered 2 salmon nigiri and a spicy salmon roll to sample. The rice was supple and the fish was fresh and delicious. I'm fairly impressed with the quality, and I'm definitely going to order dinner while I'm here.

On my way home to Detroit from visiting Toronto and was looking for a place in Windsor for sushi before crossing over. I found this place with a 4.6 rating and I'm glad I stopped by. The staff was friendly, quick, and the food was fresh! I ended up ordering Hwe Du Bap, which is a Korean raw fish salad with greens, radish, spicy sauce and rice. It definitely hit the spot and the price was very reasonable. Yep, I'll be back.

Being from the West coast i've had a hard time finding authentic fresh sushi over the last few years since i've came to Windsor. If you're willing to pay a little more it'll be worth your time making the trip to Hikari. All thought sometimes you may be waiting a tad longer for your order you won't regret it. They're busy for a good reason. Always fresh, always polite, with a diverse selection of rolls that stay true to what sushi is all about. You'll enjoy this is a first time sushi goer or someone who's been at it for years. Thanks for the great service, i'll be back soon!

Amazing! My boyfriend and I booked reservations for our anniversary here. We had been wanting to go here for a while but lockdowns made it difficult and we didn't want our first experience here together to be ordering takeout. The experience was well worth the wait!! The staff is amazing and polite, and the food came out in an orderly fashion, and fast, too! The portion sizes are pretty big, so the prices are definitely worth it. I would come back here again in a heartbeat! My only downside is the menu does not state the price of their drinks, we ended up paying nearly $4 for a can of coke. But otherwise this place is amazing and I am definitely going back when I can!!

I moved to Windsor 2 years ago for law school and discovered Hikari with some friends in our first week. We’ve gone back consistently and it’s my favourite place here in Windsor. It’s great for date night as well, my partner and I love the sake. The sushi is delicious and there’s also some great veggie options! If that’s not enough the service is always absolutely excellent and makes the experience that much better. I fully recommend. (Side note, we did takeout recently due to social distancing and had a lovely dinner at home and the Sake was still nice and hot!)

We ordered the Sashimi Dinner, Black dragon, Red Dragon, Philly roll, Double Double and Lobster tempura roll with miso soup. I was super disappointed when I opened the package to discover Green dragon roll instead of Red Dragon... I paid for Red dragon and got green. Green is 2 dollars cheaper, so I overpaid and didn't get what I wanted.. The sushi was great but the green dragon ruined the experience since I absolutely hate avocado.

This place is located downtown Windsor, Canada. Street parking is free after 6, and this Restaurant has no parking lot. There is a paid parking lot right next to the Restaurant if you visit before 6pm. I had the seafood soup and Tiger Roll Sushi. The soup was very tasty, but lacking in quantity for the price charged. I had one shrimp, one clam and couple of tiny mussels. The Tiger roll was also very tasty, but dressed with mayo which was not listed on the menu. I happen to dislike mayo, but it was not overwhelming so I didn't say anything about it. I also asked to be seated at the sushi bar, but couldn't see the chef making the sushi, took away from the experience in my opinion. Waitress was friendly and chef checked in to make sure everything was okay. Al in all nice cozy restaurant, good for solo and groups. I would visit again if I had no other options around.

Nice Japanese and Korean restaurant. Expect more of a homey atmosphere than a restaurant one. Our party ordered sushi, teriyaki chicken, and bibimbap, which were all satisfactory. Service was quick and courteous. No complaints, I'd go back if I visit Windsor again.

Went on a late Saturday afternoon. There were a lot of reserved signs in the tables around me. I started off with a green tea... it was good and hot. Then, I had the tempura veggies (2 shrimps, 2 yams, 1 zucchini, 1 broccoli, 1 red pepper and 1 onion) and they were very good. Next, I had Unagi roll... 8 pieces. Wish there was more eel in the rolls themselves,

I ordered the crispy crunch California roll, soft shell crab tempura, agedashi tofu, and Japanese ramune. First and foremost, I didn’t get ramune they gave me calpico instead. The soft shell crab was burnt, like literally blackened. The best thing about my meal was the California roll which is pretty sad. I just ordered this about half an hour ago through skip the dishes, and it was delivered timely. The sushi rolls were really good, but everything else was a bust. I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt that maybe I should try other things in the restaurant before i bash it too much.

Food is quite good. Pricing seems fair for the quality of food offered. The selection is excellent with staff being friendly and service being respectable. A great place to bring friends or go on a date. The atmosphere is quiet with seats close together. All in all the restaurant is small, however I will be coming back again as this isn't great find in downtown Windsor.

I always liked Hikari so when I found out that the restaurant is under the new ownership I was slightly afraid that it will not be the same. To my surprise It's even better!!! Best sushi in town by far. Every dish that comes out of the kitchen looks amazing! I will be back as often as I can for sure.

Ordered in Hikari this evening for dinner. We got the Chirashi bowl and some rolls. Overall, it was pretty decent. Since it was delivery, the food arrived somewhat cold, but still okay. The Chirashi was amazing, so I imagine it is even better at the restaurant. The rolls were very typical/standard, nothing really outstanding. The best thing was the spicy scallop nigiri, extremely fresh and delicious. If ordering this in, temper your expectations for anything that is meant to be served hot, as it will likely be soggy and cold by the time it arrives. Took about an hour to arrive. Cheers!
