As you can see the average score it has is very positive, and it's based on a high number of reviews, so we can conclude that the score is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to place scores when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant is included in the category of Italian restaurant.
When the staff cant read the menu. The worst Italian food I have attempted to eat. We were a party of 5 and within minutes of dinner being served 3 of the party were extremely I'll vomiting diarres
Food is always good and reasonably priced. Decor is dated. Staff friendly and good service. We like coming here
Food is good with reasonable prices. Most entres $20.00 or less. Went with a party of 6 last visit. It took over 45 minutes to get our food. The salmon was good but a little overcooked.
One of the better Italian restaurants in White Rock,Surrey, and Delta. Best to make a reservation.
Service was extremely attentive...food was exceptional! Counting the days when I can go back!!
Just had New Years Day dinner with my wife and 1-year-old at La Baia restaurant tonight. David, our server, treated us amazingly well and even gave our daughter a stuffed animal ???? after also very accommodating for eating there with a young child. Food was delicious, and as mentioned service was impeccable! We will definitely return. (Only small piece of advice for the restaurant would be to serve larger servings of marinara sauce with dishes that called for it, otherwise pretty meal)
Real good pasta & sea food.
Great service and food was very flavourful!
They recently updated their menu, and the food is phenomenal! Their food has always been great, with exceptional service, always a 5 star place, but their new chef and new menu absolutely blew my mind. The pasta is made fresh in house, and the attention to detail really shows. Hands down, best pasta in the lower mainland!
Very good food!
David, the staff and the proprietor were very personable and helpful. Pasta is freshly made and delicious. A charming restaurant with great food and better service.
Nice quiet restaurant. Good for conversation. No tv! Wonderful staff and food.
Fantastic. The Seafood Lasagna was excellent. Never had anything like it. The server's were charming and the prices reasonable.
This has nothing to do with dining. I was shocked with indifferent, and inhumane attitude of the staff: I urgently needed to use a washroom, and the public ones in the park were closed; the closest place was this restaurant. Apparently, they do have one, but when I asked if I could use it for a sec, they declined. The restaurant was empty: it was around 3pm. I begged them, asking to let me in - to no avail, with staff being pretty rude... I was so lucky that the lady in the tiny shop next to the restaurant allowed me in. Never dined in this restaurant and never will.
Always great food.
Amazing dinner!! Super friendly staff, made the experience extra special ❤️
Fantastic! Best authentic Italian we have had for a long time. Great price point and delicous food. We will be back!
The fettucine alfredo immediately smelled and tasted off. I could only eat a few bites. Felt like they had used milk that had spoiled or something.
Always such a pleasure to be here. It has it all: great atmosphere with a retro vibe, lovely sweet servers and of course, great food!
Great services. Delicious food.
Great food and generous portions at a good price. Staff was very friendly. Our meals were awesome and we'd definitely go back!
I had a great dinner! Wonderful food, exceptional service and friendly staff. My server David is a true professional. I will definitely go back very soon.
My evening turned out perfect. Atmosphere was perfect for my date. The mussels were amazing! Zingy lemony flavor really compliments the mussels.
My wife and I hadn't been here for years as the decor seemed so outdated however having travelled to Europe way more this place is much more like that rather than feeling so North American. The meals are fantastic and service to match. We definitely will be back soon
They have a new cook here -- Luigi -- who is fantastic. Their food was OK before, but now it is a "must experience" treat. Prices are not cheap, but they are reasonable for the quality of dining …
Service and food was excellent. Very reasonably priced. Very happy with our experience at La Baia Italian restaurant.
I am pretty much easy to please but when you make my family wait for more than an hour to get a not-so-worth it meal, then for the first time I will rate you the lowest. You have reservation options via Open Table, if you really want to …
Great and fantastic place! David was such a gentleman who really took care of us and with my gf allergies like peanuts, Gluten, dairy, species, pepper, dairy... etc. He was knowledgeable and professional like ranking dishes and major modifications for the allergic... definitely a place to return. Just want to state - gluten free pasta can be easily undercooked... let them know and they will correct that quickly and professionally.... thank you David!
Fantastic food and amazing service.
Always great food. The service is always exceptional and you are treated with care, respect and patience. So many chain restaurants are extremely lacking in service but it it's always a treat to be served properly at LaBaia.
Cute little place with lots of character
Great food and service
Gracious service and good food.
The restaurant is old and dated and is in desperate need of a renovation. The service was good, although very slow. I understand why - they're trying to go for the ambience of old world Italian dining.... but with that in mind, the food does not live up to the pace. I had the cannelloni and I swear Olive Garden does a better job. The sauce was watery and tasteless. The meat had an odd taste and added nothing to the meal. Overall very bland and just plain disappointing.
One of favorite places to go. The food is excellent and service suburb.
My husband took me on our first date here, the atmosphere and friendly staff were so amazing. beautifully classic, great food, I'll always remember this place.
Overall great. Fresh and soft bread, they even offered seconds. Had the lasagna, it tasted great with lots of meat. Everyone in the service staff were all very pleasant. They offer freshly ground pepper and parmesan cheese. Old-fashioned interior.
I love this place! The service is European style so don't expect the "go go go" you get in most places around here, they allow you to relax, enjoy, and have conversations without rushing you to seat someone else at your table. Best alfredo sauce I've ever had is from here.
Great staff and fine food.
Good food!
The food was excellent. Service was great. Atmosphere perfect.
Disappointed! And confused. The visit started out as one would expect. Gracious service. However that is where it ended. After the beverage and hot bread with olive oil and then...I had ordered onion soup my friend Canneloni. Well, others began to populate the restaurant and we continued to wait. Finally my soup came and it was so hot I burnt my mouth, but it was good. Then we continued to wait. And other people who had come in after us were being served. Some were finished and leaving, and we waited. Then my friend asked, where is our dinner and the waitress said she thought we had been served and were finished. Now we were confused. Then she said she would look into it. And right away our meal came. My fish, I include a picture was only barely warm. My friends Canneloni looked like a mound of tomato sauce. Nothing else was visible. She did say it tasted good. I had lost my appetite so I hardly ate and took the rest with me. We received no explanation. No bill. Nothing except a total bill with tip included of 75.00. The Canneloni was 16.95. I asked for an explanation but the waitress walked away. We thought it best to leave. I'm glad that this restaurant has loyal customers However it seems that they are not very interested in creating new ones. My friend and I are still in wonderment as to an explanation for this unusual treatment. I am and remain disappointed. Were we unacceptable for some reason? We were dressed appropriately, kind and Gracious. But apparently something got lost in the shuffle and I remain disappointed!
Well... Where do I start. Well how about the only good thing, which was the waiter David who was extremely friendly and trying his best. Ok, now on to the not so good list. We made an order over the phone to find out the menu had changed and what we wanted wasn't available. After figuring out what to order we were told they would throw in some bread for the inconvenience and that it would sadly be ready in 45 min, but we had already spent so much time ordering, we decided we would wait. Once we arrived, my husband went in to pay and left a very generous tip after we thought we were being taken care of and confirmed our one substitution to find out that our order was wrong. They told us to wait and they would quickly re-make the one pasta. I feel like it was possible they completely forgot about our order all together because we waited in our truck for another 45 mins to finally receive our food. Once it came David was extremely nice and apologetic, but it was now 1.5 hours later and I was a hungry pregnant lady. When we arrived home and unpacked our order, looking over the bill we saw we were charged for the "free bread" that we didn't even order! We were also charged on top of the pasta for extra prawns and the caprese salad we received was literally one small thing of cheese and a small tomato cut into 4 for $14. The portions were really small and by then extremely cold. I quickly called and no one answered, so the next day I called back and asked to speak with the manager and was told they would call me back the following day... we heard nothing, so another day later we called back again and were told again we would hear back from her and nothing. We finally left a message on another day and still never heard back... that was a few months ago now and tonight when I was reminded of this restaurant I decided to finally write a review! All together it was extremely disappointing $100 bill for 2 people and we definitely won't be going back again!!!! The sad thing is that this used to be my very fav Italian Restaurant and I spent many nights eating there. I guess those days are over.
Wonderful place! Food is delicious, our server was absolutely amazing. Adorable little setting, LOVE LOVE LOVE! Highliy reccomended!
Fabulous dinner tonight. The service is "old world charm", so captivating, and the food outstanding. I am happy to give this 5 stars and recommend the great food and service, making it a wonderful place to dine!
Excellent service and ambiance. Loved the food and in particular the apples were perfect muscles, shrimp & scallops, Caesar salad)-seemed to be a minor slip up on the fresh tomato bites in my pasta (Penne Delizios & Sicilian risotto) vs the oven dried as per the menu description. Finishing up with the awesome gelato (chocolate completes that chocolate craving or amazing vanilla bean) and a house coffee of Sambuca and kahlua to end was delicious. Recommend going for that Italian option.
Nice place
I'm mostly giving this a 5 star rating for the experiences we've had here. The waiters are awesome..friendly and funny and I can tell that there is a warm family vibe that they exude. It has sort of an old school cozy traditional atmosphere..nothing modern..which I think is great ..but that's just me maybe :) And..we love the food! Have only tried (all) of their their pasta dishes and salads..all of which never disappoints. They are large portions.. and due to the quality of the pasta (which does not leave you feeling heavy or bloated) I am able to finish the whole dish...unless I fill myself up with tons of (endless) bread and butter. The chili oil that they offer is a nice touch as well. This is my favorite date night restaurant..and its hard not to go often as we live right up the street. Also..check the local paper as they offer a coupon on their pasta dishes 2 can dine discount :) Price wise is on par with the quality and quantity of food. Love this place.
Wonderful find. The food is solid, and the service is so good that you would come back just to experience it again. We will definitely come back next time we're both of the border.
Over the years we have received excellent service at La Baia Italian Restaurant enjoying the very tasty meals there as always!
Feb 18th,2021 just got home and could hardly wait to get into a warm bath, as it was my birthday dinner from a dear friend as we always wanted to try out this Restaurant but never again. She asked for a cozy table, and we were put near the window and we were so cold. The Covid protocols were not respected as I mentioned I work as a Hairdresser in the Film&television industry and getting surgery soon and need for them to practice it, which I had to remind them with it at our table. The fella David was very nice but smelled of a fresh cigarette among a nice fella but it was a bit to much. The gal would not leave us alone and had to tell her to give us space please. The food main dish took forever to get, and the pasta was loaded with butter as you could see it soaked in it, and the fish was dry as a bone and When asked how was our meal I told him about the fish. My friend did not want to say anything, but when we got into my car she said the fish was dry also.We both would never come back to this restaurant and the washroom smelled like mold and was not clean. The bill was high my friend said, and we both would never go back to this restaurant ever again.
family run Italian place with good food and fabulous desserts.
We had a great night there. The pasta is excellent and desert is also fantastic. I love the serviçe.
Just plain excellent. They've been there for decades. True professional staff, and authentic, fresh Italian food.
We had one of our best experiences dining out at an Italian restaurant. This is my favorite Italian place in Surrey by far. The server, David, was very friendly and made our experience very memorable. We were amazed by how great the grilled calamari is!
Always a great dinner. Staff were wonderful.
First time in White Rock, just walked in with no reservation, was greeted like we were old friends. Service was wonderful food was exceptional!! Would highly recommend. Next time I'm in this area would go back for sure!
I don't understand the 5 star reviews. The food was below average and service was terrible. Scallops in the pasta were so overcooked they tasted like erasers. The decor is.. old school at best, but really just retirement home-esque. There was one elusive waitress serving the whole restaurant and she was hiding in the back for most of the evening. I'm leaving 3 stars instead of 2 only because of the bus boy who did his rounds with gusto. Our water glasses were filled instantly several times over our meal and he was keen and helpful while the waitress was nowhere to be seen. Probably will not be back.
excellent food, friendly service. we always enjoy this place.
was recommended this place and did notice when we first went in that it was like something from 1981 and had never changed since but seems the place was busy we thought that maybe it was just great food that had kept people coming back. Our service was slow and the starters were just ok. All served on old fashioned low quality plates and glasses. When my husband asked for the Basa fish but asked if all of the fresh is fresh? The waiter advised that it is all frozen therefore he didnt go with that option. When out meal EVENTUALLY arrived my husband was offered parmasean cheese and said he didnt want any the waiter proceeds to tell him "he must be crazy!!!!" The main course was bland tasteless, frozen fish, my husbands pasta was dry and had teeny tiny shrimp in it. He didnt even eat it - infact neither of us did. When the waiter came back i told him "we really didnt like the food - his reply was "Okay, I'll get you the bill!" No questions as to what we didnt like, if there was anything he could do and he went on to bill me for the full amount. Absolutely terrible service, dated place, dreadful food. We went across the road to the WAG and thought why the hell did we go to La Baia?? Save your money!!!
(Translated) Delicious! Everything was perfect! The food, the service, the location ... and the pianist! Wonderful evening! (Original) Délicieux! Tout était parfait! La nourriture, le service, l’endroit… et la pianiste! Merveilleuse soirée!
Way overpriced, the food didn’t even include all the ingredients/items that were listed on the menu and it was overall tasteless which made the price even more brutal. I haven’t been this disappointed with a restaurant in a while, and wouldn’t eat here again even if someone gave me a gift card. Just not worth it in any way.
The seafood lasagna was stellar. 2 sauces on each half made it something to remember. Baked oyster as appetizer got me warmed up with cheese. Be sure to go for the pasta though. The steak, though okay, isn't what they specialize in.
Lovely, quaint little place and serves incredible food!
Service: 5 stars The staff is very polite and provides the appropriate amount of attentiveness. It was the best service that I have experienced in a very long time. In particular, Kathy and Sarah were both exceptional. Food: 5 stars The food was the closest I have had to an authentic Italian meal in Surrey/White Rock. I have been to Italy many times and the chef (Luigi) did a phenomenal job. Some people have commented on the ambience. I found it to be quite charming. It is far from modern, but very clean. It has the appearance of a family-owned restaurant in an Italian village. I enjoyed it.
Love the creamy pesto pasta!
Quiet Place good Food close to beach
Amazing food and incredible service!
One of my favorite restaurants
It was a nice experience. Went there for dinner and it was amazing to listen to the piano being played for the guests while enjoying their fresh food.
Nice neighborhood location, food is good, staff are friendly. Good portions, fair prices.
Poor service. Pricey. Food was so so. There are plenty of better options at white rock to eat.
Aleays a warm greeting from Pierre and excellent caring service from all the servers. Tried other Italian restaurants and none compare to La Baia!
The food was really good. The pasta is all homemade.
Nice traditional atmosphere, good food and service.
The food was pretty good
Fantastic service good location amazing food realy family
Went with a gathering of folks for a birthday on a Friday night. Small place, pastel decor, quiet. Our host and waitress were both friendly and accommodating. They specialize in pasta dishes. I ordered the spaghetti Bolognese. Quite a large helping, which is good considering the price 22$. Unfortunately it was just ok, a little bland. Another person at our table needed more sauce for his pasta. Seemed to be a theme at our table. The bill had a pre added 18% gratuity (!) Overall, it was ok but I won't be back.
Decent restaurant but fairly unremarkable. I had sea bass in a white cream sauce with a six cheese spinach tortellini in a rosa sauce and they were great. The rest of my group went traditional Italian and were unimpressed. Marinara was watery and cannellone was tasteless. The building is old and in need of an upgrade or at a minimum, a renovation. Be prepared to wait as well. The typical Italian gathering for dinner with time spent socializing before eating is there but that is better suited for home, not a restaurant. We waited over an hour to eat. The wait staff is great and informative and is not bothersome with constant attention.
Amazing staff, fantastic food!
Love the atmosphere. Can't go wrong with any selection from the menu, seriously great cuisine.
I called in a pickup order which was been incomplete and overpriced the server argued with me finally he agreed on the fair original price but I will never do business with them again
Very good dinner
Mussel appetizer was delicious. Both of our pasta dishes were well prepared and tasty. House wine was pleasant and reasonably priced. Service was prompt and efficient,. We'll be back
Nice local spot. Excellent service and great pasta
Everything we ordered was delicious and well presented. The main issue for me is the chairs were very uncomfortable and some of them are plain wood which is in my opinion unacceptable. Might as well be at the food court at that point.
If your looking for good food come here. They are not stingy with portions or sauce, i.e. pasta is not dry, you can tell from the meal that the chef is experienced, you don't have chunks of meat, it's bite size. Only thing was the wait time was long, I think they might be short staffed. But staff were friendly and knowledgeable. 4 stars because I feel they could offer way may and more options on the menu and perhaps allow substitutions.
I was very disappointed in my meal. I had heard good things about the place but when we ordered they had several websites and we kept choosing the wrong one. We finally got our order in but they didn't have the same dishes as the older menus so I choose another dish and was disappointed. We ordered our food just after 5 and it didn't get delivered until 7:15. We had called to check what was happening as they said 30 to 45 minutes. They lied and said it had already been delivered after 15 minute wait we called back and said that was a mistake it was now out. It was poor service and the food was not as good as expected.
Seriously!!! I have read the reviews and here’s what I have to say !! 10 OUT OF 10 These guys work as a team they took care of everyone around us as much as they did took care of us .. the place was packed it was our first time there and we were treated like if we go there every day!! Food wise It’s excellent !! I feel sorry for the peoples that said they will never go there again! Old fashioned decoration and it does make a difference in White Rock !! Not a pub food restaurant lots of parking around and free as well!! This place is amazing ????
We have been living in White Rock for over a year and yet just discovered La Baia last night! What a find! We were greeted so warmly when we first arrived and were served by a very experienced mature waiter who thoroughly impressed us by his professional and friendly manner. Our food was superb...beautifully cooked and beautifully presented and positively delicious. We also really appreciated the fact that the background music was at a low volume which allowed for easy conversation with our dear friends. This restaurant is a real find...lovely surroundings and across form east beach. We shall return soon!!
I met friends on November 20th at La Baia. It was my first time dining there but it will certainly not be my last. Everything was prefect! The food was amazing. I had the Lobster Bisque and Fruit de Mare pasta - it was 110%. Our server was David- he is absolutely amazing and is probably the best server I have ever met. Kudos to the entire staff as we all felt that they were Rockstars. We asked to meet the Chef and he came out and we clapped!!! Go there you won't be dissapointed.
Great place, and great food! Definitely gonna go back! Really like their homemade sauce :)
Food was wonderful. Service was, well let's just say the $. 86 tip I left was very generous.
Just got back from the restaurant. I’ve been living in White Rock for over 20 years and I have eaten at LaBaia several times. It’s always been just ok but today I tried their new menu for the first time and the dish was amazing! I ordered the prawn tagliatelle with lobster sauce, Chef Luigi created a fantastic dish; it was perfect. Later I learned that Chef Luigi makes his own pasta from scratch. I have been to Italy many times and this experience was on par with the restaurant’s in Italy. Also the service was phenomenal; Kathy, David and Anastasia were always there when needed but did not hover. I felt very comfortable. LaBaia is definitely my favourite restaurant now in White Rock.
What a lovely evening three generations of our family experienced tonight. Grampa, his sisters, bro in law, daughter and husband and their two small children all had a wonderful meal and experience at this restaurant. We arrived to hear a piano player adding to the atmosphere. Accommodating seating for our large group, a quick wine choice and the evening began. David, our server, was attentive, helpful with suggestions, and they had gluten free pasta options. The service was excellent, food was delicious. Would definitely go again and highly recommend this place.
Hidden gem, must go! Just as good on skip too. No corners cut, very impressed.
Horrible service do not recommend!!!!! Felt very mistreated bs unwanted very rude staff , my son and I went to order and the server told me it would be 30 minutes so I went for a walk came back and he told me he didn't know I was coming back so he gave my order to someone else
Forgot to put our order in and when we asked they said we will have to wait a long while before anything will be served. I also only got half of my order.
It was really good ..fair price ..great staff ..relaxed vibe ..
We really enjoyed the delicious Italian food here and the fast friendly service .We gave it a 4 out 5 rating because of the disappointing bread served at the beginning. Nice warm crusty Italian bread served traditionally with oil and balsamic vinegar would have made our dining experience much more complete.
Went for Valentines dinner 88.00 for two. We were extremely disappointed!! The ceaser salad was terrible I swear it came out of a package. We ordered the chicken parmigiana and all it was a piece of chicken breast breaded? It came with pasta which was ok. I also ordered a martini and it had an ice cube in it?? We have been going their since the 80’s. This is certainly on the same quality of food. I absolutely do not recommend going their and we will not be back.
Great food reasonably priced. Excellent service. The place was packed with people.
I had hopes for this place but after first visit it iwas our last. Service was good but the food is awful. This was the worst dinner we had in a very very long time. We ordered halibut with pasta and cannelloni. Halibut was overcooked and the piece was so small not sure how they justify charging $40 fot it. The cannelloni had no shape it was a flat goop covered with brown sauce. Looked like wet dog food. We did not eat even quarter of the dinner paid and left.
Great food... Great atmosphere... Great service.. . Not easy to find this type of restaurant any more.. Really enjoyed it...
I highly recommend the smoke salmon pasta. For appetizers snails and mussels. Very good service.
Wonderful restaurant with excellant food.and good value for the price...excellant staff as well..ask.for David or Mary..suggest.reservations on the week End
Old school italian in all the best ways. Warm service from an experienced wait staff, excellent food, large portions, and fairly priced. I had the seafood lasagna which was one of the night’s specials, it was full of delicious seafood and has two yummy sauces. The food came out quickly despite it being a very busy Saturday night. We will be back.
Great little Italian restaurant, good food, good service and nice atmosphere.
Always a great dining experience
I went to La Baia restaurant after I had seen one of their coupons in the local paper. It is a simply decorated restaurant that could probably use some updates. However our server was attentive and made nice suggestions for both food and wine. The food was nicely flavored and nicely presented. Nothing was over the top, but it met my expectations for the price. I went during the daylight hours which perhaps emphasized the stark decor. Perhaps an evening setting would prove to be more ambient. If you want a simple meal with your family, I think this would meet your expectation. However, definitely not a setting for fine dining or an extended meal out with friends. The food was tasty and service was fairly prompt.
Don't bother ordering their appetizers, it's a waste of money. The portion sizes are awful for the price. Their pasta was decent but nothing to rave about. I spent 20 minutes on the phone trying to place an order for them to find out if they accept debit card for deliveries just to find out that they don't. I ended up placing the order through skip the dishes after the fact, not because they directed me to the app. It was poorly packaged and showed up cold. Definitely not worth the $95.00 I spent and that was with free delivery.
Great if your looking for a traditional Italian restaurant parking can be a problem
A small restaurant that has been in business for several years. If you love Italian food this is the place to go to in White Rock. There is enough parking behind so you don't have to worry about a parking meter needing a refill. Staff are very friendly and service is excellent. Update: Went there recently with my wife and son. Service continues to be good but the food was very disappointing. I couldn’t finish my lamb as it had an unpleasant taste. My wife didn’t enjoy her meal either. Down rating to two stars on this visit.
Good food, friendly safe.coupon in local paper.one per table only
We have been to this restaurant once before and had a very good meal. The second time however was a complete disaster . We waited a long time before our appetizers came and had no problem with them, but the main courses came and three of our meals had obviously sat for a very long time as the sauces had congealed . The other meal the red sauce was so thin it was like water. We complained and they did take off the price of this meal. But not the others. Very very disappointing.
This is a hidden gem. You might skip past it because of the outdated interior, but give it a try. The place has character and it's clean and cosy. The food is terrific and staff are excellent. Probably one of the best Italian restaurants in town.
We order takeout tonight and shared two pastas: The Short Rib Pappardelle and Tagliatelle Gamberi. We did pickup to keep it as fresh as possible. Both pastas were extremely disappointing. Both significantly over sauced (extremely creamy) yet still lacked flavour and complexity. Tagliatelle featured prawns but only came with two. Pappardelle had plenty of short rib but it was flavourless. Highlight was the sparse cherry tomato which provided some freshness and acidity. Another $60 lesson of where not to eat in White Rock
Great food with great staff. Worth to try!
My spouse and I have dined at some of the best restaurants in Vancouver and I often dine out in much fancier/pricier restaurants for my work but I can honestly say that this place is one of my favourites! Why, you ask? Well lets start with when you walk through the door and are greeted very warmly by the owner or by any one of the servers. It feels like they are welcoming you to their home. Then you smell the food and your taste buds start to tingle and you sense you are in for a real treat! Yes the decor takes you back in time and this is not your normal trendy urban restaurant, but who cares- it is spotlessly clean and very cosy/intimate. You are seated by your server, who is always very warm, professional and attentive without being intrusive. I have ordered a lot of different items off the menu in the many times we have dined here and everything is just excellent...
I don’t think I have ever left a restaurant without tipping in my life...until tonight. Our server could barely speak English and managed to completely mess up our order. Service was incredibly slow (I finally got up and went in the back to see if they were still there). Salad was okay and pasta not bad even though it was not what we ordered. Our server was constantly apologizing which eventually became annoying (for us and other tables) when all we wanted was for her to get something right. They ended up comping our entry and desert (which was unrecognizable on the plate) but it was too little too late. The only redeeming thing was David who unfortunately was not our server.
Nice atmosphere. Friendly service. Excellent food.
Excellent food , great service ! My favourite place to go . Steak is amazing and the fettuccine Alfredo yum but my fav is the salmone dish ???? Highly recommend
Great excellent food relaxing atmosphère
Excellent food and service
Wow! Amazing! From the service to the food 5 stars! Seriously, you have to eat here. Real Italian food and old school service. You don’t find places like this very often, so glad we gave it a try. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!
Fantastic service excellent food a real restaurant with real Italians
My husband and I came here on a Saturday night for our belated Valentine’s Day dinner. The venue was small, cozy and not authentic. While the restaurant is meant to be an Italian restaurant, the restaurant was filled with Chinese decor. The food was terrible. We ordered mussels (the day’s special) and were unable to finish it because it tasted too fishy. (We normally enjoy eating raw/cooked seafood and they were never fishy like this.). We were given a different “special” of the night after we mentioned about the “fishy taste”. The main entree we’ve ordered for $20 each was extremely small compared with many other Italian restaurants we’ve been to. My husband had a bad stomach ache after from eating the awful seafood/had food poisoning. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone for the food quality (spoiled seafood), food portion, and restaurant ambience (not authentic). There are many better Italian restaurants with much better quality, quantity, and ambience that i would give 5 stars to gladly.
A nice cozy restaurant. Very authentic Italian food!
OMG I love this place! Went there last night for the first time. The restaurant is so cute and cozy and the staff was just the nicest. Food, holy cow the food was so good. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I even tried escargot for the first time and it was delicious. Can't wait to go back. I had the salmon and the chocolate mouse and it was perfect.
The waiter was very nice. Answered all our questions and gave us his recommendations. Always on point with drink refills and making sure we were well taken care of. I'm not a big lamb person but I decided to try the lamb anyway and my God was I glad I did. Delicious.
Hello everyone, please don't go here please. Don't waste your money here. Go and spend the extra time to drive to Illuminati in Tsawassen for great Italian food. After you have done that, now get your money back from these people for professing to be a 'good' Italian food restaurant. They should have been offering a refund after that horrible night of food. If they don't believe you - give them a doggy bag from Illuminati so they can see what good Italian food truly tastes like. Our Pasta was under cooked, the sauce was butter, garlic and tomatoes with water with no cohesion. The consistency of the of the sauce was appalling. Greatly disappointed.
Was OK service was good , food well it was ok
So I was told 28 years ago to come here as it was apparently really good. It took 28 years and a pandemic to get me to go. I assumed it would be over priced pasta and simply be another Marine Dr average restaurant. Well I was wrong. The prices are incredibly reasonable. They staff are exceptional. The food is really quite good and you won't leave hungry! Warning though, if you order the Tre Amore you aren't getting small portions. It's literally enough for two! It won't be another 28 years before we are back!
It was amazing, probably the best lasagna I've ever had.
Awesome food, great service. Homemade desserts!
Had dinner last night and the cannelloni was tasteless and bland. They use no garlic or spices. I ate half of mine but my daughter only took one bite. No one came over during the meal to ask how it was. I decided to pay for the meals and take the food home and try to add some flavour to them. When the bus person came by she asked how it was and I explained our dissatisfaction but she just loaded the plates on top of each other making the idea of bringing the meals home impossible. The older waiter finally came over and we explained our disappointment, he said shhhh so other tables wouldn't hear our complaints. We called him on this and he just walked away and sent someone else over to handle us. I will never go back there. Save your money and go to a nice restaurant.

Our family has been going here for over 30 years. There's a reason why this is the longest running restaurant on Marine Dr. Yes the decor may be dated but there's something to be said of timeless food and service. No need to mess with a good thing. Quality italian at reasonable prices. Favorites are the lasagna, cannelloni, and fettuccine Alfredo. The chocolate mousse for desert. This is a staple restaurant for White Rock and has been relatively unchanged for decades.
Excellent food and service
What a feast.. Compliments to the new Michelin Italian chef. I highly recommend the homemade Lobster ravioli absolutely delicious. The mussels were fresh and flavourful as were the prawns and scallops. Dave the maitre d’ brings an old world style of hospitality that you don’t ever really get to experience in today’s service industry. Thank you for always making our dining experience an enjoyable one! The young boy playing the piano was absolutely flawless. What talent.. His rendition Canon in D (Pachebel) was something to be heard. Thanks again & See you next time!!
Good food, cozy atmosphere, long time staff who care about customers.
Just had an amazing meal at La Baia!
Best local Italian for over 20 years ×
In from Edmonton tonight. Great, friendly staff. My wife and I had the bisteca and lasagna. The Miami vice 80s decor tops it off. Highly recommended.
Disappointed, we called when they opened at 5 for delivery. They had system issues and couldn't put payment through so we had to talk hostess through. The website was wrong so the orders we had put together had all changed, menu was not as good and they said they only had apple strudel and would not deliver Creme Brule. After we had placed order it took over 2hrs! It was now 7:15 before we got food and ate.
Nice little Italian restaurant at the end of east beach.
Waited for two hrs.to get our dinner. My friend who has big problem with seeing . when we asked to turn up the lights. They totally ignored the request.
