My friend ordered the penne pasta and it was bland and had absolutely no seasoning at all. I ordered the cod tacos and gave half of one to my friend because the pasta was flavourless. Later that night, we both had really bad stomach problems. Bad experience.

Went here after walking along the beach on a busy Sunday summer night, but got our table and food fairly quickly. Our server was extremely attentive, and checked in and updated us on our food. We ordered: House Made Clam Chowder: 4.7/5 - super amount of clams with a side of fluffy doughy bread and oyster crackers. Creamy and delicious, does clam chowder justice! Spiced Up Chicken Quesadillas: 4/5 - crunchy house made tortilla (not the usual white tortilla) used for the quesadillas with a side of tortilla chips with sour cream & salsa. Cheesy and satisfying! Grilled Cajun Chicken Tacos - 4.5/5 - Delicious sauce on top, lots of veggies. Very flavourful! You will want more.

Had lunch with the wife here as my wife is pregnant and was craving for the Jambalaya rice bowl. The minute we were in the front i noticed this young lady cleaning a table outside, i thought she was a host helping a server as what you usually see in a restaurant. After this lady saw us she immediately told us that her staff will be right with us in a sec. And then it made me realized that she was a manager. And was really glad to see a manager helping out her staff despite having like 5 staff during a slow afternoon. After we were seated and orders were taken by our server, this young lady manager served our drinks, then served our appies amd our entrees. And just a little bit confused that why is she doing this and not her staff and she was also the one checking on us and even took our payments. So when she was taking my payment, I asked her how come she is the one doing everything and not our server, and she just told me that she always wants to help out and not just do nothing. i am really happy with how she treated us. Even though she is the manager she really stepped up her game and not the usual manager you see thats just there and talking to other staff members. Just looked bad on the server though that she let her manager do all the job even though it wasnt busy.

Food is ok the interior is so out dated and un functional as soon as you walk in the door ur at a bottle neck, with an oversized bar that servers cant walk past when you wait to be seated and is un used you can barely walk around for all the junk thats scattered around in desperate need of a remodel and updated menu

Food was a bit disappointing. Seafood hotpot was a bit plain, but better than other hotpots I've tried. The cod and chips were OKAY, but the fish was too greasy, so it blanched out the flavour. The bread was surprisingly good tho lol, not too oily or garlicky, but light and fluffy. Restaurant is lively in the evening, but the service was quick. I may come again, but will not reorder what I've tried.

Tough to rate due to covid. Was only one guy on the floor and seemed a bit rushed. He was super friendly considering. The burgers were awesome and can't wait until they can go back to a regular menu. I'm sure, I'll be back to give this place a 5 star!!

It was our girlfriend's birthday and they separated the group , half on the patio and half intside, service was slow and pathetic...and we were asked to leave at 8:30pm...this used to be our very favorite restaurant since we moved here 27 years....never again!!!!!

I have been to charlies on number of occasions and they are always happening. Speacial deals on special occasions is their specialty. Good vibes and loud music is their signature thing. Interior of this place is quite interesting unlike other restaurant on the marine drive. Its in the garage kind place with extended corners to another seating area and whole big space outdoors on the patio too. Inside is sunny through the big glass windows. Food is plenty on the menu and quite few vegetarian choices. Cocktails and beer variety fills the drinks menu and they taste good. ( dont forget to customize with ur choice of shots or how many shots????) I have eaten their shrimps dish which is so fresh n juicy, flatbread is creative and soft, my weekness yam fries are thick so i like this place to order sandwiches or burgers so that i can get my side of fries. Quesadilla is yummy too but dont know why they were little hard. Maybe coz tortilla or other flour would be better to make quesadillas. I always have good meal combined with good vibe here. Wishing the quarantine to get over so that i can go back.

Good location with a nice view. Just be careful what you order. I was charged $30 for fish and chips which was extremely disappointing both in taste and value. Waitress or hostess never mentioned that it was happy hour either, which I only found out by the time we settled up the bill. Left feeling very frustrated and disappointed.

The food took a while, even though there weren’t that many customers. The tomato basil soup came out like pasta sauce, we sent it back and got the calm chowder instead which tasted great. I ordered salmon off the Dine-Out menu, it was over cooked and had no flavour. The poutine was good though. The service in the beginning was warm and friendly, but when I complained about the tomato soup and salmon, it wasn’t so friendly anymore. We were a group of 15, 18% gratuity was automatically added to our bill, I paid the bill and was asked by our server, “how much of your change do you want back?”. Ummmm??!

Took the motorcycle out for a ride to get away from the fog...and so glad we did and ended up at Charlie's for lunch. We were seated on the patio with enough room to keep our helmets...thank you! Our server was great and the food was delicious! (I had the halibut burger...which was a generous portion of halibut....so very tasty! ???? and R enjoyed the chicken club too!). The view was gorgeous...sunny with the temperature hitting 12 degrees ...couldn't ask for a more perfect riding day and stop off at Charlie's. Thank you for the friendly service and awesome food...we will be back!

Normally the food and service is excellent, however they seemed to be short staffed perhaps or something on our most recent visit. I believe we were served by a manager. It took around 20 minutes for someone to come take our drink order. Another 15 to get those drinks. We then order appetizers and dinner as it was taking so long and we were not sure if we would see someone again. The appetizer took a little bit which is normal but they were sub par compared to how the food usually is. We had crab cakes and the prawns which were ok just not as good as usual and everything with he prawns was turned to mush as if it had been sitting a while. Our dinner took around 45 minutes to hit the table which seemed unusually long considering it was just cod and ahi tuna tacos. These were not as good as normal but they were alright at least. We then did not see anyone until we paid the bill after going and asking to pay. All together we saw the "manager" who served us 3 times and we were there for almost two hours. Very disappointing experience. It has always been one of our favorite spots up until now. I am honestly not sure if we will return.

Was there while ago. Found establishment dirty. Unclean. Server didn't even clear all the dishes and glassware or wipe the table from customers before us. We ordered a beer each. When server brought us our beers. I asked for the table to be cleared. Server sneered and rolled his eyes. He didn't wipe the table. I had asked for a glass for my beer. The glass given to me looked like the used glass that was left on our table from previous patrons. It had lip marks on edge of the glass. Greasy finger prints on the side. And there was little bit of liquid in bottom of glass. Myself and people i was with started laughing. Server brought 2 of us their meals. There was some problem in the kitchen and the other meals would be delayed. Server never did wipe the table. I complained to manager. Manager was really bothered and sarcastically offered me a free beer. I decided i didn't want to be there. I got up and left. We all left. Server was loud and rude as we were leaving. In front of other customers. Very unprofessional. Place was dirty. Employees didn't care about basics of cleanliness. Will always avoid returning here. Boathouse is better.

Vegetarian patty’s are cooked on the same grill as meat patty’s. How does that make any sense? This should be clearly printed on the menu just like White Spot has it printed for their Beyond Burger. Update: Thank you to the owner for your kind response. I improved star rating. I look forward to coming back and seeing the newly updated menu. Hopefully some day soon veggie patty’s there can be cooked on a separate grill because I used to love having a veggie burger there before I knew about the grill sharing.

Food is great but service is soooooo bad I can’t wait till I get my take-out and leave their White Rock resto. Its Covid season but service should not be like this as we are all trying to adjust. As we enter, I told the guy at the door that we want to order for take-out. He said - if you want to order take-out, you can do it online. So I cannot order right now and I have to do it online? He said - you can order at the bar counter but only one of you can come inside. Easier version should be - yes, one of you can go in and order at bar counter. So I went in and placed my order and was told 10-12mins for order to be ready and then he got my cellphone number. So you will call me when order is OK. No, just come back after 10-12mins. Fine... I returned after more than 12 mins but bartender said it isn’t ready yet and apologized. Fine still. Im just waiting at the bar and leaning on the counter with my elbows. Waitress comes and said order is being prepared. A few minutes after, same waitress comes back and said - Sir, if you are waiting for your order, you cannot stay by the counter and lean on it because then I (waitress) will have to wipe clean the table because you leaned on it. Really? I am your customer and I am making work difficult for you as you have to wipe clean the counter because I leaned on it? So I pulled myself away from the counter as I watch her wipe her counter. I was standing awkwardly by the one of the posts near the counter. After about 5 mins of standing in one corner, same waitress comes back to me and said - Sir if you are waiting for your order, we have a take-out table outside and you have to wait there. What??? You all told me to wait for my order, now you tell me I have to be standing outside to wait for my food and no one told me that at the very first minute after I paid for my food? So again..... I went out to wait for my order at the Take-out area. Finally, I got my food after almost 5 mins of waiting outside. And again... food is great but service is reallllllly bad and very unprofessional. I am not impressed at all. No one will be. I will definitely go for another restaurant with good food and good service. I am very sure there are a lot better restaurants in White Rock than Charlie Dont Serve Well, I mean Surf :-(

My wife and I had an evening away from the kids, and decided to come here to have nice dinner. But it was nothing but a fail of an experience. We got a drink with a flie, I waited 25 minute for my drink to arrive, 30 min wait to even order our food. My wife's dish never arrived... So I went to the manager to explain our terrible experience and he did not care one bit no apologies, the waitress kept making excuses instead of owning up to her bad service. I do not recommend this restaurant. Unless you want a fail of a dine out experience.

What a great place!!!! We sat at the bar and ordered a Ceasar wow that was awesome loaded with celery so crisp fresh, beans, pickled onion, hot pepper and a huge olive was so good!!! The bartender was GREAT...... The decor was funky, every table packed and tons of staff. The amount of food that came out of the kitchen was incredible and you will want to try every dish..... Mmmmmmm the fish and chips looked to die for and we wanted to try them but the portions are massive and we were full. Food is amazing we had the flat bread BY FAR BEST WE HAVE EVER HAD! And we ordered the dry ribs wow huge portion 9$ and amazing flavor the bartender even offered hot sauce we said we would love it and he brought us 2 different kinds.... Over and above service!!! Give this place a try you will NOT be disappointed! We will be back that's for sure.... We went a cpl years ago and had pizza and I remember that was to die for!!!!! The owner prim (think that was his name) is GREAT such awesome service and great person to talk to.... Thx for those AWESOME chips can't wait to see them on the menu!!! Keep up the awesome work guys! You've got it all right! Wish you were our local but we will do the drive or boat to come again very soon!!!!!!!!!

Hostess didn't scan our vaccine passports, didn't even ask for them we had to shove them in her face, didn't ask for ID - I guess since she glimpsed" at them they're considered checked?. Bartender had his mask around his chin the entire time while customers walked around mingling without masks either. Slacking on Covid protocols, so probably slacking on sanitation protocols too. Terrible service, long waits, shouldn't have to wait 15+ minutes till someone comes to greet you and your drink should never be empty and waiting before you order another. Disappointing and a slap in the face to the industry I work in

Cute small restaurant with a limited happy hour menu. Food is average given the price but it's nice to look out onto the waterfront. Washrooms are used one at a time and not clean. Paid parking is also annoying. We came here for a birthday celebration where they provided brownies and ice cream to the birthday girl!

I was pleasantly surprised when my partner and I came in here! I wasn't sure what to expect, but I saw their fish and chips special. We had ordered the calamari and I wouldn't say it was anything special and was a bit oily, but I really enjoyed my fish and chips and my partner really enjoyed his west coast Bouillabaisse.

Update: Management reached out, which is always positive. I've bumped my rating up to four given the commitment to improvement and diligence. This review is a tough one. What can be said about CDS... Generally speaking, I find the White Rock catwalk/boulevard of restaurants all under par for their wonderful location. Nothing quite stands out as "exceptional" often. Don't get me wrong, I've had a few experiences that were "exceptional" from time-to-time but with that said, the GVA is truly known for having great restaurants in the worse locations possible and mediocre restaurants in the best locations possible. It's really unfortunate because it would be nice to have the perfect combination of both, which is hard to find in the GVA. Now onto CDS... It definitely isn't horrible and you shouldn't avoid it. This restaurant has its merits and occasionally our experience has been quite favourable. The issue, though, is consistency. Often times when we visit, the place is a little out of shape. The tables are sticky, the glassware is cloudy, and the cutlery is unpolished. The food is decent enough and a few items are even really great, but the service each and every time is incredibly weak. They tend to hire younger inexperienced servers that don't have a lot of intuition for the role or a sense of maturity for how to serve. There tends to be a lot of "empty glasses" and a lot of questions like "can I get you anything else?" and "do you want anything else?". As a general rule of thumb for servers, scan your tables to assess what might be needed in advance of asking questions. This is the biggest killer for sales and restaurant quality. Non-intuitive service with tons of "are you finished yet?" questions kill your business. Unfortunate to say the least, but hopefully this summer coming up, the management can improve the service standards here so that we can rate this establishment higher than three stars.

Great views but terrible overpriced food. You expect great seafood being by the ocean but you don't get it. I had overcooked tiny piece of frozen salmon. 3 shrimp pieces and raw badly cooked salty tuna out of a tin which I left. This seafood trio cost $22.95 and was a complete rip off. Just stay to easy stuff like there pizza and Mexican and that was ok. My friend had crab cakes which were frozen. I did tell the waiter to ask if the tuna was out a can and he gave us 25% off.

We barely find a patio spot there. We asked for a patio table for two families and they made us waiting too long to fit us and we ended up getting our delish fish and chips in Cilantro restaurant instead. Also I called them to book a patio table and they even didn't bother to book a table for us before coming and said its first come first serve. How crazy they are going to see long line at from of their entrance

Went to Charlie don't surf today and it wasn't a very busy day and was not the best expierience ! We had ordered and our meals were wrong and salads were made wrong and without dressing and had asked for my meal to be wrapped up and the server never brought it back to me !! I've had better expieriences here and highly recommend just disappointed today.

Very disappointing food. Location is beautiful and so sad the food doesn't match. When a restaurant can't get a simple salad right you know there is a problem. First salad came over dressed, limp & soggy. Second one came limp and soggy with black rotten & slimy edges on the lettuce. Thankfully we were not charged but, our meal was totally ruined and I went home hungry. Sorry, won't be going back for another try. Way too many good restaurants around to try. We hear Uli's down the block is great - will try there.

WARNING TO FAMILIES We had two tables reserved for a group of 8 (2 families in a 10 person bubble under the March 12, 2021 Health Orders). At first, they sat us mixed between families and when they said we had to leave, we said it was no problem and that we would just sit in our own family units, as per the health rules, they told us that they were not going to serve us and we had to leave. When we questioned this, they said bylaw would come and cause us a problem, even though when we asked how that would be a problem, as we would be two families eating and seated at two tables 8 metres apart, they said we had to leave and we were not welcome to eat there, but could order take out. When we left, we heard them doing the same thing to two other families, as they "arrived together", even though booked at two tables. Beware, if you show up, act like you do not know each other, as they will treat you like hardened criminals and kick you out if you do not. Note: there were groups of 4-5 friends sitting together, clearly not a family, and when we asked about that, they said that they didn't worry about that... **We went next door to Ocean Beach, sat as two family units and had an amazing meal!

My hubby and I went for dinner last night for the first time and was absolutely beautiful. From the time we walked in the door the staff were very pleasant and multiple people greeted us!!!!! Was awesome as most places staff don't even look at you let alone say hi was a pleasure !!!! The clam chowder is the best I've had on the west coast. Our server was on point she had a great persona and was very attentive. The vegetables were actually fresh not frozen, was very very nice. We absolutely will be back.

Hubs and I had excellent meals here! Gluten free dairy free really good food. I had the jambalaya bowl which was enormous and hubs had the blackened chicken and shrimp. Good service, not hovering, just laid back. Nice area outside to eat. Love the eclectic deco inside. If you need your meal to be dairy free, double check when your food comes. The kitchen missed that tidbit on our second visit, but they made hubs a new plate. Our server, Breanna, took excellent care of us.

As locals are wryly prone to comment, 'Charlie Don't Cook'. Ex-employees too, which is very telling. The fish is all from processed frozen. You can witness the deliveries on a mid-workday. This includes the deserts AND fries. Very hum-drum, mediocre fare. Its saving grace lies in it occupying the best location on the dreary beachfront strip. Noisy, dangerous, dirty trains, frequently rumble noisily closely by. Pay attention! Coupled with anti-visitor, over - priced parking, overseen by agressive, predetory parking police. Never attempt a visit during a daytime weekend - you will choke on the bumper-to-bumper auto fumes. Not to mention blasting music from the mobile youths-on-show-parade.

Waited 10 minutes before a waitress came to our table for drinks. The hostess who sat us was rude. Once we ordered we waited 45 minutes for our order (noticed that customers that showed up after us were getting their order before us for the same order) and had to leave due our parking time being up. When we went to pay for our drinks and told them we had to leave due to our parking time the waitress pretty much srugged her shoulders and apolagied. No explanation on where or food was or if it would have been much longer. Food looked good but service was awful.

Terrible, terrible burger. Contrary to what their menu says ("White Rock's favourite burger!" and it being a "butchers cut beef burger") - I call total BS. This was a Safeway/Costco frozen patty special. It was the same gross texture that breaks apart in ribbed strips as soon as you start chewing. At one point, I pulled out a 2 inch long worm of beef - which I often can jokingly do with the freezer patties. Attached is a pic of the compressed strings of cheap beef. When I asked the server about it, I was told the burgers were frozen. While this may not be uncommon in restaurants, I certainly wasn't expecting it to be the case given the self proclaimed gourmet write up on their menu. Certainly a one off visit. Oh ya, and my wife ordered the fish tacos (asked for grilled) and received 2 tacos filled with coleslaw, sauce, and a piece of fish a quarter the length of each taco. Oh, and only one of them came with avocado. The only positive was the side salad I ordered - which by the way they charged me $2 for!! Thank God the beer was cold!

The food was yummy and good portions. It was a busy Saturday night but the service was questionable. When first bringing out water the waitress split all over the table by accident but didn't notice? So we had to use our napkins to clean it up then when we asked for more napkins she kept forgetting to bring them until halfway through our actual meals. Really disappointed. I asked for some cash back to obtain some coins for the parking meters across the street. Even though I was dining and drinking I was told to use their ATM as they could not figure out or accept cash back. When I used their ATM I felt violated when it charged me MORE THAN the already outrageous fee for some cash. I will not dine here or drink here again unless they remove their outrageous RIP-OFF ATM MACHINE. Also at present there is noisy construction across the street making my experience less than acceptable. Not a happy experience.

Charlie Don't Surf is one of the true treasures of White Rock! It's a must visit everytime I visit, the view is beautiful at sunset. The atmosphere is fun and vibrant and the service is excellent. Their food is wonderful, my favourite is the Fish & Chips, fresh and tasty. Great portion sizes for the price, definitely a must visit!

Found a hair in my found and didn't have to pay for it but it was all together just a let down. this was my first time eating in white rock and it sorta just pissed me off. I get it hair in food it happens but come on. 25 dollars for fish and chips ? fine. But why is it being surved with plastic bowls for the sauce? 25 dollars isn't that expensive but it isn't cheap. After going here i heard some things from the locals so i guess none of this is new. ordered the samon bowl the menu discription sounded great it came and it was kinda just what ever. Wouldn't go back Just kinda seems like no one really cares that much and it isn't there fault i feel like there is little to no management. Anyways wont be coming back if i can help it.

Food is not often good but on the right day it can be. My most recent experience was the "earth and turf" for take out, which was a small thin chicken breast and two prawns smothered in overcooked mashed potatoes. Called to tell the restaurant about the prawn portion (description stated prawns were a main part of the meal but it was barely plural when I got it) and I was not offered an apology of any kind and instead was told to email their general manager. I won't be returning.

We decided on Charlie Don't Surf because it was the only one with people in it during a cold night in the off season. Our server Kyle seemed to be the only one on staff and did an amazing job of taking care of everyone. The food and service were top notch. Look forward to returning next time I'm in the neighborhood.

I ordered some mussels and to my horror the smell of the dish was overpowering and not unlike that of a used diaper. Everyone on the table was visibly disgusted by the stench of this dish. There’s a seafood smell but then there’s THIS. What others ordered was mediocre at best - cheap white bread, tiny portions of protein. The drinks are fairly expensive but I would recommend if you have to go there only have a drink and not the food. Poor.

My girlfriend and I came here about a year ago and had an experience to remember. We had great service when we first entered the joint - we asked for a seat on the patio and the host specifically asked the waitress (it was her first shift ever), if she could take one more table. We were seated quickly but it took a while for our server to come over. The server began making small talk and asked us "What is this? Two friends going out on a Wednesday night?", we replied that we were dating and immediately our server was awkward and did not know how to respond to us because we're gay. Throughout the meal, it took a long time to get service - not only for us but all the tables around us. The awkward small talk with our waitress continued throughout the meal, when it came time to pay I immediately grabbed the bill so I wouldn't be stuck talking to her. She ended up asking my girlfriend a ton of personal questions about our relationship. All in all, we left laughing because it all seemed unreal. From what I remember the food was good, but we probably won't be coming back.

CHARLIE DON'T SERVE EITHER . I Brought my children here for dinner (party of 5), we were sat quickly in the middle of the restaurant and then left unattended, no drink orders or contact from staff for 20 minutes. When I went to the front the hostess was very apologetic, I retuned to my table only to watch the hostess and 4 staff argue over whose responsibility we were. 5 minutes later we left the restaurant, still without any contact at the table from the staff. Went next door to Oceanside public house and recieved immediate attention and drink orders. Turned out to be happy hour so we even saved money on the kids food!

Came in to ask about table availability for 2 families of 5 (to sit SEPARATELY...Yes, I am aware there is a limit of 6/table in restaurants. No, I was not asking them to compromise). I was told that "because you are a group over 6 outside, walking the sidewalks and at the beach together, you can't eat here, even if at separate tables and under 6 people" Provincial rules state that "a person can gather with up to 10 people outdoors." Interesting...I can't sit with my spouse and our 3 kids that all live together because we know another family sitting at a DIFFERENT table in the same restaurant. But...the table of three friends and another of 2 couples can sit there "because that is not the restaurants responsibility." We were the ones following the rules! No logic.

We have been here a few times over the years and have always enjoyed the food, great service and the view from the patio. This is why yesterday’s experience was so disappointing! We arrived for a late lunch and given the beautiful weather and that it was St. Patrick’s Day, we were prepared to wait for a table on the patio. We were told that it could be 15 to 30 minuets, but they took our name and suggested walking along the beach and coming back. As we left we noticed a table was clearing out and that they would need time to prepare it for either us or the next group on their “list”. We decided to walk for only five minuets and return. We arrived as another group entered and the same server we met with greeted both of us, but started to seat the other group and gave them our table on the patio. We were then told that we would be waiting 30 minuets before another table became available and said “sorry for the mistake”! They offered no other solution, not even a drink at the bar while we wait or to go back to the group who were given a table on the patio without having to wait! This experience will definitely turn us off from ever returning to this establishment!

Server seemed to be much less experienced than other servers, and was socially awkward. She didn't explain that substitution of one side dish for another would cost more ( when there is really no difference in the cost, availability, or prep time of those sides ) and was defensive when questioned about it. Substitution charge is written on the menu she said. The staff has always explained this sort of charge at every restaurant we've ever been to. Bizzare experience. Food was alright, but overpriced. Other options nearby, and the ambiance is better with the same view and more space. Will not be dining here again.

The Lucky supermarket is a great place. They have a huge variety of products that you can't find even in T&T around the corner. But the main reason to go is to get the Bahn Mi sandwiches from the ladies in the back. They are phenomenal!

Seeing good reviews, I took visitors from out of town here today. Our server was ANNELIES. Not only was she unfriendly but seemed not to want to serve our table. She never came by to ask how our meal was or if we needed anything else. We were also missing a setting and had to ask another waitress for it. This waitress has the audacity to grab my setting and everything before I finished my meal... all the while without saying a word! She never smiled and was the most unfriendliest and rudest waitress we had came across. Don't come here...food and service a 4 at best. There's is a lot better restaurants on the strip you can have a way better experience.

Their veg burger and seafood hot pot were just OK. The halibut and chips and crab cakes were pretty underwhelming in flavour, not really worth the premium they charge. The drinks, some food and service were good hence why 3 stars. The location is what keeps them going. Definitely overrated.

The food was horrible. . The pizza meat was rotten. The kalamari was raw. . And the staff refused to make it right. They took the rotten food away and made us pay for it all anyhow. They wouldn't even give the missing garlic toast for the 18$ pasta that we ordered. Absolutely the worst dining experience that we have had in a long time! !

The food is good, but the view is the reason you eat here. Service is decent, and they have a kid's menu. Serving size need to be bigger. And, the wait for the food to be served had been inconsistent; sometimes it's quick, other times slow, and it wasn't related to amount of customers present.

Charlie's invented the White Rock beach Friday night. Its iconic and eclectic. There may be food else where on the Beach but no place has the ambience and energy like Charlies. It location, decore and general layout is exactly what experiencing the beach scene is all about. Best bar and oven roasted pizza on the beach.

Went here today. Limited menu on phone but they have installed plexi-glass barriers. Was able to sit outside. Opened at noon today. Fish and chips with the coleslaw was amazing. Our server was prompt. Not able to get censer sad at this time but other great options on salads. Time limit of 1.5 hours and limited to # of people per table. Overall good job today.

We went for dinner on a Saturday night. Great service, nice place, good covid precautions. I read the reviews before going there, lots of good reviews for the hot pot, So I figured I would try it. I was disappointed. The dish was a seafood soup which was under seasoned. Lots of seafood but it was tasteless. So I'm not sure if I will go back. I certainly will not recommend the hot pot. My husband had the salmon dish, it too was under seasoned, maybe it was just an off day in the kitchen.

Was in White Rock for the first time and definately wanted to try out a good spot for fish and chips. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The restaurant was decorated for Halloween. Staff was friendly and it was clean. Got three different entrees, including the fish and chips, vegetarian quesadillas and an order of shrimp tacos. Restaurant was pretty accomodating to dietary requests or changes in side orders. As for the taste of the food, it was pretty good. Had a good time overall!!

My wife and I went for an afternoon walk and worked up a good appetite. We kept our eye out and picked Charlie's. We loved everything. The food was well presented and serviced, a good portion size, and tasted excellent. The sunset and view added to the atmosphere that I would describe as a chill pub house with a unique marine feel. The experience was good value, I would recommend this place!

A large venue with lots of seating options. Patio is great with coverings to protect from direct sunlight. Food is okay but a bit pricey for the quality; however, they offer a wide variety of food options. Good selection of beer and spirits as well. Staff is friendly!

Couldn’t go down by the ocean and not order fish and chips! The bar had lots of seating and we only waited like 15 mins before we got a table at lunchtime. The food was decent, the service was ok, when I didn’t get ketchup after asking it definatley made my lunch a bit worse but all good. People forget and it was quite busy in there.

Charlie Don't Surf in White Rock is my favorite Tap & Grill to go to on Marine Drive. It has a fun decorated interior and amazing views looking onto Boundary Bay. Great drinks, tasty food, reasonable prices, and I have always had great service. The guy that runs the place even takes the time to visit with us customers to make sure all is good. This tap house has been my go to spot for several years. I make Charlie my meet up spot when I just want to relax, enjoy the day and night chatting, laughing and tasting cold drinks. If you want to enjoy a waterfront grill with unique fun character, go to Charlie Don't Surf.

I ordered the kale and quinoa power salad with salmon and my bf ordered the Bouillabaisse. The waiter (Kyle G) brought his starter, clam chowder, to the table. It ended up being luke warm so when Kyle came back to check on it, he ended up replacing it with a hot one. My salad arrived with my bf's dinner but it appeared the salmon had swam off before landing in my salad. Kyle said the chef would work on it and he ended up taking it off the bill despite bringing it to me shortly after. The service was amazing and so was the food. If we ever travel back to White Rock, we'd go back to Charlie don't Surf.

We went on canada day so it was BUSY! The food came out fairly quickly and our waitress (who seemed to be a senior staffer) was really nice and attentive despite how busy it was. She happily moved us from a corner table by the washroom when a better table became free so it was really appreciated. Food was good although our halibut was over cooked and my sons ahi tuna was also overdone. We just mentioned it and she gave us 50% off the two dishes without so much as another word! Truly a great experience, other than the dry fish......

The day of our visit was rainy so the warmth of Charlie's was welcoming. We also sat right next to the fireplace while enjoying our sips. Charlie's offers an outdoor seating area to enjoy on warmer days. There are blankets provided at each table to ward off the chill. Nice touch Charlie. Visa and MasterCard are accepted forms of payment. must try it

We were able to queue for a preferred patio seating while we walked the beach promenade. The weather was perfect, but had a fabulous experience. These are tough times, but adaptation to new now. Awesome location. Good food. Great selection of drinks. I had the Himalayan curried penne and it was terrific. My wife had the beach salad with a salmon add-on and quite enjoyed it. Service was great. The view from the patio is spectacular. Would definitely encourage anybody at the beach to try it out.

If my boyfriend and I want great food that never disappoints we make the teck from Maple Ridge to Charlie's it's hands down our favorite place to eat and the fact that they have gluten free options is even better as I have celiac and finding places that have a clear menu for gluten free and is safe and understanding and doesn't judge me for something I can't control. Safe to say Charlie's is my happy place. Ohhh and the view isn't half bad either ???? Go see for yourself

Excellent patio but be prepared to wait even on weekday nights. Good location right near pier with a fantastic view of the ocean. The kale and quinoa power salad was fresh and delicious and my friend enjoyed the fish and chips.

Put our name & number on list only to watch attendant give tables to other groups who put their names after our group. Spoke up only to have attendant lie and say he tried to contact us as we sat outside and watched the entire time we waited. They know how to pour a proper Guinness! Other draft beer selection is so-so - wish there were more BC locals. Food is decent. Views are great on the patio with a fair amount of seating compared to neighboring restaurants! All White Rock eateries are overpriced near the pier, but if you go at happy hour (3-6) you can get fairly reasonable prices for the location!

We stopped here as it was not far off our route, on our way back to Vancouver after a visit to Seattle. What a fab looking little place White Rock is. It was a shame we visited after dark, as I think we missed out on some great views. We chose to eat in Charlie’s because it looked quite busy and we thought that was a good sign! We both chose cod and chips and we weren’t disappointed. Loads of fries too, I couldn’t finish all of mine! Shame I had no room for dessert! 2 x cod and fries, one beer and one coke came to $45 inc tip.

5 stars for the service alone. Aaron (sp?), our server was quick, friendly and professional. We enjoyed happy hour specials: Charlie lager, house wine, caesar (perfectly amount of heat), yam fries (probably the best I've ever had) and clam chowder. I had the Memphis Blues pizza for my entree. The food was hot and fresh and our cups were never empty.

Our second visit to Charlie Don’t Surf; the first time the food was good (Beach Salad and hamburger) and the service okay. This afternoon, my husband and our daughter enjoyed their cod fish and chips. My breakfast by contrast, was very mediocre. Greasy over cooked eggs with a ton of pepper on them - I couldn’t eat them and I love pepper. Butter on toast tasted old. When I politely let the server know for the kitchen, she quickly apologized, didn’t seem to care, and did nothing to remedy the situation. Disappointing as we chose Charlie’s today based on our last good experience a few weeks ago. We left wishing we had tried a different White Rock restaurant where service and food would be better. I emailed the restaurant and received a brief reply saying they would look into it. That was back in February and haven’t heard a thing since. There was no effort whatsoever to make things right.

After waiting nearly 45 minutes for breakfast - it came out with burnt to a crisp bacon and the eggs were so burnt all that there was left were 2 loonie sized yokes - the remainder was wispy white strings. Grant it - they were a bit busy - but that should not impact the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen. It was un-eatable - the only thing that was in any way recognizable were the packaged potato squares that were ice cold. How does this place survive when so many other places on the drive seem to crash and burn?

I don't love this place. it's location is second to none and I enjoy the unsubtle vibe of the decor but I've never enjoyed the food there. it's not expensive by Vancouver standards but it's not good value. Substandard burgers and pizzas are not something one needs to be looking for, especially in a town where there are great restaurants on every corner.

Pros: polite staff, great location, heated patio. Cons: unreasonably long wait for a simple burger with fries + salad (quick to take an order but 30+ min to service). I said "let's cancel our order and go elsewhere" as one of the staff walked past me from behind - I think they heard me, cause the next time a staff member showed up, they had our food. Signature burger was not all that exciting, but the fries were crisp

Nice view from the patio, quirky interior. As pub food goes this place is better than most. Prices higher than they should be for the quality but I get it, they're trading on their location. I enjoyed everything I ordered, and the portions were generous. There is a kid's menu. The service was quick and sincerely friendly. Sit outside if the weather allows! I'll be back.

A bit of a tight fit as the place is old and converted but the atmosphere is alive and the staff do a great job of fitting you in ! Food was real good and the hot poutine was over the top good! Look around in here as their is lots to see and chat about. We have been visiting this restaurant for the last seven years and they have been amazing so far. However, our most recent visit was not the same. We ordered nachos and pasta. Admittedly pasta was great but NACHOS WAS TOO DRY because of minimal amount of cheese in it. We asked our server and she politely offered replacement. What was more frustrating was the fact that they brought the same nachos back by reheating them (or maybe added some cheese to the one already made though there was no improvement in the taste). Of course, it was the kitchen people who missed the mark two times in a row but overall it was a very disappointing experience. I am not going back.

Any restaurant on the beach in scenic White Rock near the pier is a wonderful experience! Charlie Don't Surf has withstood the test of time and is an iconic spot in the quaint seaside City of White Rock! Just like it's neighbour, Uli's! When these turbulent times of restaurants closing of COVID is behind us, I can't wait to support these iconic spots in White Rock again!

We were at Charlie Don't Surf for lunch today and had the worst experience ever. Our server was terrible - no personality whatsoever and very dry. We ordered nachos. The nachos lacked cheese and what cheese was on the nachos was stuck dry and hard to the overdone nachos. No taste to the nachos at all. There was no moisture to the nachos whatsoever. Not once did our server come by and ask how our meal was or if we wanted another glass of wine or beer. The hostess was great - the girl who came around offering water was happy and smile and great also. Once our order was taken, we never saw our server again. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. First time there - last time there.

We received terrible service here, we waited 20 to 30 minutes for each drink we ordered, 40 minutes for nachos that didn't even come as ordered, and our dinner came with no napkins or cutlery, we had to wait another 10 minutes before finally going up to the bartender to get our own while our food sat. Our bill was almost $300 and after we paid it we still had full drinks that had just been delivered and the server asked us to leave quickly as someone was waiting for our table!!! I tried reporting it to them but they won't reply and delete any review or comments I do online. I wanted to give them a chance to rectify it before leaving bad reviews, but they choose to ignore and delete the problem. We dine out regularly on the strip and will NOT return to a restaurant that apparently doesn't care about return local customers, so much so that they won't even reply to their complaints. (Note on here they only reply to good reviews.) I will be sure to spread the word.

I enjoyed the patio out on the road. It’s nicer now with the traffic so that the beach cruising shiny people can do repeated laps up and down to show off all their shiny things. Food was good and they have my favourite sour beer in bottle.

Charlie's fish n chips has always been on my bucket list to try when I visit White Rock! Their fish n chips are SOOO amazing, the deep fried pacific cod was crispy and tasted so amazingly fresh! The staff was so nice to split the plate for the two of us too~ also loved their clam chowder, creamy and rich! must try it

Other than the long standing name and fixture on the beach, it attracts a younger and louder crowd. Idk what the draw is but oh well. We ordered tacos, were good no doubt but similar to the big chains. More like a pub feel imo.

Great location, fries were good, fish was pre-formed like Captain Highliner triangles. I don't think it was cod, more like polock or basa, obviously frozen not fresh. Servings were small for the big price. The food does not look at all like the pictures. I could not eat the fish, it was that bad.

Their fish and chips were great and had decent portions. The service was a downside though, as we (group of 6) had to wait for a while for a table even though there were many empty tables that could've been combined as one, and the food took a while to come as well. The interior decor, however, is also pretty cool so at least there was a lot to look at during the long wait times.

It was very hot yesterday first thing first we asked for iced so our children and we can have some water before ordering food. The waitress said we are sorry but we dont have any clean glasses but i can get you drinks like really??? When we asked for menu she throw them on the table and left, honestly if you cant handle to many people at onces then control the amount of people you welcome in to your restaurant. Went there at 12:00 today, we order a Halibut fish and chips and a Brunch ( Quinoa ), the fish were so dry and no flavor at all and the fries wasn’t fresh, you know they just reheat it, it’s only 2 hours after they open, why the fires wasn’t fresh ? The Quinoa was good at the beginning but not after I mixed with the sauce, it was toooo salty, I can’t even finished it. You can tell from the pic the fries wasn’t fresh at all ....

Its good for a bite and a drink...been there for some parties but its better for smaller groups. I recommend vladamir poutine or the fish tacos. For the price you get a lot of food. If you want an easy drinking beer get the house lager its 4.95 for a 16 oz and its damn good( tastes like kronenberg). Good decor and ambiance.

Poor service and rude server and to some extent feels like a racist treatment! We visited the place on mother's day and noticed that every table gets flowers with their bills except ours and another table who seem to be of india origin. Seems the server had no customer service training. If the restaurant has decided to give flowers to every table on mother's day (and of course, there were three great mothers with us) the restaurant MUST have trained the staff to follow it for every table so some (like us) not be felt being discriminated. If the manager of the restaurant cares about this review and interested to know who was this rude staff, I can help.

I have been a regular here for few years now and definitely will not be going back. I had brought my friend here for the first time recently and had the worst experience; even the manager had no skills dealing with customer service. Once We were seated no one came by to take our order yet alone place water for a long time. We had to ask another sever for assistance. When our server actually came, she was so rude and threw down the menu and walked off without explaining anything. We asked for a manger and he clearly did not care that the service was slow and that server was rude. He did not apologize for the poor service or anything; completely useless. We of course left and gave our business to a better place. We should’ve known better as we had seen another table walk out when we were entering without placing an order as well.

This place is all about vibe. Right on the beachfront, it reminds me of quant seaside pub/restaurants on the South coast of England. Interior is cosy with a big canoe hanging from the ceiling and walls busy with seaside related trinkets.The food is decent, without being spectacular. But this place is much more about vibe for me. With a lively bar tender and attentive staff, this place is definitely recommended if your looking for a fun, laid back atmosphere to hang with friends or a date.

Disappointed with the Kangoli bowl. Slight flavour of burnt and the actual spice was not balanced well so it just tastes like too many overpowering flavours competing that was thrown togather by someone who has zero talent. Honestly one of the worst meals I've had eating out in a long while (about 2-3 times per week). Service was not that awesome leaving you hanging for long periods of time. The beer he spilled splashing all over me and a table across was no big deal, but really that should have counted for a free drink getting doused in beer. Patio bumps this score from zero to two.

What a horrible place!!! Went there last weekend with my mom and kids. After trying three tables to find one that didn't wobble we gave up. We ordered nachos, a burger & fries and a kids cheese pizza. The nachos had minimal cheese and the cheese it did have wasnt melted. The cheese pizza looked and tasted like something from the frozen food aisle. The burger was just alright with under cooked, frozen fries. When I complained about the nachos the server snatched the plate out of my hand without a word and didn't come back for at least 10 minutes to ask if we wanted something else. The manager/owner sat at the bar drinking and watching hockey. This place is just like one of the dumps on Bar Rescue and only has business because of the location.

My wife and I ordered the fish and chips. We originally wanted to go to Moby Dick's down the street but they were closed at the time. At first we have to wait a bit to get service. When the food came the fries were subpar and the prices were higher than it should be. When we found Saran Wrap or some kind of plastic in our food we notified our waitress and she was apologetic but didn't offer us anything else. Which I thought was strange. The beer specials were helpful but the glasses smell like chlorine or something from the ocean. I'll give this place one more chance just to be fair.

We came in for our 13th anniversary and my aging parents were visiting, one of whom is in a wheelchair. I want to thank the staff (especially Sheleeza/Sheneza,hostess) for greeting us at the ramp and having us at a beautiful roundtable close to the great views of the ocean. We had a wonderful time. Our group went during busy hours and we were served the prawns which only had 4 prawns and the rest was some crunchy stuff. The dry rubs were goid just missing some salt. Although the plates we were given with our appetizers were soaking wet and had to be sent back. We did not stay for mains as the food was not up to par nor the service. I've had a few pleasant visits here, but today's visit was under par.

Came in for happy hour for a quick drink and appy with my daughter and ended up being there for a good hour!! It started at the entrance. Three diff waiters ran by saying we'll be right with you so that was about 5-7 min. Once seated, the Waitress came and said while we're reviewing the menu, she'll get us water ...none came. Sat there for a good 10-15 min. She finally came back and said someone fell down their stairs and she had to help them. Ok fine I get that may happen. She then took our drink orders and I reminded her of the water. The drinks came then I had to remind her again about water. Finally got our water. We ordered yam fries and after how many min, were told they were sold out! Then we had to wait quite some time for our food!! Honestly, it sucked!! The waitress never checked on us once we got our drinks. Someone else gave us our appys!! We watched our waitress flitting all over the place except our table. Finally she noticed that I put my coat on so I said I want the bill with a discount. The bill came with a decent discount and she dares to say that if we come back and ask for her section, she'll give us another discount. Are you kidding??!! No thanks! Customer service is everything for this industry. I think they need help!!

This place has some of the best nachos out of any place I personally have come across in the greater vancouver area. Accompanied by a fantastic view, a great heated patio and great service, this place is a must visit if you find yourself in white rock! One of my absolute favourite summer places for some great food and a nice cold beer!

An okay place by the sea. Come here for drinks. Foods menu is limited if you are vegan or vegetarian. Yam ???? were good. You can get Sangria by pitcher. Ambiance is good, during winter you can sit by a real fireplace and feel the warmth and cozzyness.

Very disappointing service, the hostess who sat us was rude and the table that we were seated at not cleaned. Furthermore, we had to wait 10 minutes and when no one came to our table, we had to ask the waitress for the menu. We noticed that customers who were showing up after us were getting served. When no one came to serve us for 30 minutes we left and had lunch at the Boathouse which had exceptional customer service. I do not recommend this place and we won’t be going back.

Had the salmon burger (forgot the real name of it) and it was absolutely delicious, the fries were cooked to perfection and as a plus, they have a revolving table piece so it's super easy to share appetizers with others. Went there at night time but it's right on the beach so still a good view regardless! Their vegetarian options are good too especially considering that their primary offering seems to be seafood oriented as well. All in all, a good visit.

I patroned the restaurant last year (Canada 150) during the summer and had an excellent meal (sweet glazed tuna with vegetables over curried rice); the environment was awesome too. The environment is equally as good today, but I'm afraid the food for me is somewhat lackluster. I ordered the Ahi Tuna Pokée, and upon first glance and confirmed by the actual taste, the dish did not seem fresh, rather it felt like something that was prepared in the morning and reworked a bit for the patron (I ordered in the afternoon). I got so paranoid over the food safety of the tuna that I stopped eating it halfway through and only consumed the fruits and vegetables from then onward. I would have given Charlie's 5 ⭐s, however today's experience has left me wary about ordering any food items that aren't obviously in high demand and therefore cannot be guaranteed of quick turnovers (this is unlike ordering a poké bowl in Hawaii, where the dish is hugely popular.).

Family of 4 and we had 2 orders of fish and chips, a fish tacos, a kids quesadilla after 15% tip and taxes no drinks was $110. We went out last night to Charlie Dont Surf White Rock and holy moly was it ever good! We've come here a few times and its consistent. We had the firecracker prawns to start. It's a creamy sriracha and vegetable over fried wonton strips and it was so delicious. Spicy but the spice didnt take over the flavour I had the earth and surf. Which was a delicious. The chicken was done very well. The creamy garlic sauce and prawns were delicious and the veggies were cooked but still crisp. Husband had the Panko spanked halibut quinoa bowl. He loved it. I tried it and it wasn't for me, I could tell however that it was cooked very well and the seasoning was very well balanced. The staff were nice. The atmosphere is very eclectic and fun. There is a lot to take in for sure. It's been a white rock staple for ages.

The restaurant was super busy even on a Monday! This is always our “go to” restaurant when we are in White Rock. However, the quality of their dishes noticeably went down from before the pandemic. In particular, the halibut fish and chips were extremely dry as well as the chicken quesadilla. The Charlie burger was also very mediocre.

Absolutely terrible experience! Went there with my daughter at 7pm and was told the waitlist is 1 hour due to new covid rules. They took my number and said they would text me. Once we left, I had my daughter text me to ensure my phone service was working and it was. We walked around until 7:15 then decided to wait across the street at the pier where there were tables. After 40 mins, I noticed that the restaurant was seating people, so I crossed the street and asked when it was our turn to be seated. The Hostess said to me, "I took your name off the wait list". I was astonished because my daughter and I were waiting patiently across the street and when I asked "Why?", she then said, "we texted you but you did not answer." I showed the Hostess my phone which showed no missed calls or texts. I also told her that I was waiting just across the street and that I checked my phone to make sure I was able to receive texts. I asked the Hostess when did she text me and she answered "45 minutes ago". I then asked the Hostess, "Then why did you tell us the wait time was 1 hour?" She didn't answer, just pointed to an empty patio table and said she could give me the table now. NOT EVEN AN APOLOGY! I should have left, but at this point, my daughter was hungry and it was already 8pm. We sat down and our server asked us how we were doing and I told her I wasn't very happy because we had just waited an extra 45 minutes for no reason, yet didn't get an apology for the oversight. But, of course, rather than apologizing for the experience we had so far, the server said that "yeah, we can't control the telephone system when it does that." Okay, so you're admitting that my experience was not unique and apparently I am not the only customer who was not sent a text when a table was ready for them?! If this was the case, then why the hell are you not fixing your waitlist protocol?? I guess the restaurant doesn't care because having a few disgruntled customers doesn't justify the cost of actually fixing the waitlist system! By the way, I have experienced waitlist protocols from numerous restaurants in the Lower Mainland and have NEVER have I had a problem with receiving text messages from a restaurant regarding my que for a table. We ordered our food immediately and it was timely prepared. However, the below-average food was not able to salvage this train wreck experience. The seafood hotpot was an overpriced vegetable soup garnished with pieces of halibut, small shrimp (NOT PRAWNS) and salmon pieces. Oh yes, I got 4 mussel shells of which 2 had no mussel meat and one closed shell that, when opened, revealed, dirt and no mussel meat. $25 for one mussel when mussels are listed first in the ingredient list?! Isn’t this misleading? Don’t waste your time or money on this overpriced restaurant. Even if they do make a mistake, they seem to forget how to apologize or make amends to the customer!! You can go across the street to the side of the museum, buy a jumbo chicken hot dog for $5 from the hard-working vendor in front of the museum, sit at one of the many picnic tables and enjoy the view! And it’s free!

Visited Charlie's twice, it is one of the most crowded places in White Rock. If you sit outside you'll love the view from there, the staff is good, the service is quick, however, I found the food to be average. But the combination of food and good view makes it worth it.

Whenever my family and I come to the beach, we always love to eat at Charlie’s. The atmosphere especially during sunny summer days is wonderful. The portion sizes are more than enough and the food is so good especially their quesadillas which are my favorite!

Good service, great deck, food is average at best. Fish n chips was a dispointment, filets look frozen and prepackaged despite advertising as being local. Filets we're watery and uniformly shaped. Coleslaw was very nice though - definitely made in house. Clam and seafood chowder was better than the fish n chips but looked packaged also (where are the potatoes typically used to thicked the soup?). Remain items were pretty standard. The Fish Counter on Main St for great fish n chips and coleslaw. They are a fish monger so the fish is fresh.

To start with the sanitizer in the place was just wrong. It actually smelled terrible. You know how when you go to a good store, you can trust the spend enough money on sanitizer. These did the opposite because I could shake the bad smell. The place inside was kind of worn out. I would of like to sit outside on the patio but they were busy and we had around five people so it made sense to sit inside. I ordered a chicken burger which was okay. The quality was not there and I've had better quality chicken burger through driver-thru. I'd rather not keep going here again. The food was short on quality, same with the seating area, and even the sanitizer. If I'm spending more than $100 I expect more but this restaurant did not deliver.

Love this place. Scheller the bartender is a stud and the food is great. Would give it a 5 but I feel if they just gave the place a little refresh and what not it would be a perfect 5. But as far as food and drink menu... You can't go wrong!

My favorite spot to eat on the white rock strip. Patio is a must if available and the weather is nice. Get some nachos, have a beer, and plenty of options for a main. Good spot even if you want to just drink, but Ocean Beach next door has a better vibe for that.

Charlie’s is one of our favorite ocean side spots in White Rock (BC). They serve a good selection of west coast style comfort foods, made from scratch, with local ingredients. If you’re lucky enough to visit Charlie’s around sunset, you’ll also get a spectacular view in addition to a fantastic meal. My favorite dish (so far) is the Wild Halibut burger, which is a crispy, fresh piece of halibut, Swiss cheese, and the fixins. It’s a clean tasing and simple fish burger. We’ve also had the chowder (also excellent), and the Ahi Tuna Club (also fantastic), as well as several other great dishes. The drink menu is solid, which includes a few local brews, and a nice selection of mixed drinks. Charlies can be very busy at times, but is well worth the wait. Be sure to check out the weird and wonderful decor and classic west coast style ocean side restaurant flair.

Service was great, however hands down worst food I've ever eaten. The burger was a standard out of a box patty with a tomatoe slice thick enough for 3. Fries were way over done and fried in dirty oil. My friends chicken strips were so over cooked they were hard and bone dry and her sweet potatoe fries were also over cooked in dirty oil. Furthermore, our cocktails tasted like moctails. At the end of our stay, the debit machine gave the lowest tip about at 20%.... Overall I don't recommend eating here and spending your hard earned money.

Great location on the White Rock strip. One of the best views of any restaurant in White Rock. Funky eclectic interior which personally I like. Menu and food kind of reminds me of higher end pub food. Service has always been good. One of the few strip restaurants that has been there forever. A busy place during times you'd expect down at the beach. I recommend Charlie's.
