This restaurant is more than amazing. From the food to the customer service, Barrique is an experience that leaves you coming back for more. My personal favorite - well i can't choose between The Barrique burger and The Steak Frites. The Ganache is an incredible way to finish off your meal. Barrique led by the renowned chef Josiah Tam, has a great team in place. I love the fact that they give you a new experience each time you visit.

We tried Barrique Kitchen and Wine Bar, as we are always waiting for something new and exciting to open up this way. We were blown away! The food was outstanding! We couldn't decide what to order so we ended up ordering the beet salad, foie gras, and the chips and dip to start. All were amazing, and not to be missed! For our mains, my husband had the steak and I had the duck -- again superb!!! Desert was chocolate (yes literally a pot of chocolate) and a creme brulee. We met the owner Josiah, who came out to talk to the patrons to see how everything was. I have to say, they totally nailed it for a new restaurant! :) The food was sooooo good, that we talked about it all week, and are now going back tonight.

The food was good. The problem was that my Mom & I were the first ones there and had a reservation. They had the patio doors wide open and they wanted to seat us right by the doors. It was cold. I asked if they could seat us at some tables that were part booth away from the doors but the only other option they gave me in an empty restaurant was by the bathroom & kitchen. We declined and shortly after we sat down a couple came in who was taken to the table I asked for and then proceeded to move themselves to another desirable table beside the one they were given with no objections from the staff. So no you didn't pre-assign tables and obviously gave preferential treatment. Your response also reflects the attitude

Went to Barrique with a large party and the restaurant was able to accommodate the group quite well. However some of us shared smaller plates and some ordered larger meals and the smaller plates came out much quicker than the larger ones so half the group was eating and half the group was just waiting which felt awkward. It would have been better to time the cooking so everyone had food at the same time. I shared a few things with someone else and the honey butter fried chicken was amazing, by far the best thing I had. The watermelon salad was very tasty but simple; it felt like a dish I could make at home myself. We also ordered the house made chips and dip which was a big hit. Following this we shared the gnocchi which I greatly enjoyed it was nice and light feeling, the individual I was sharing with however prefers a more dense gnocchi so it wasn't her favourite. When it came to dessert several people wanted the banana's foster but we were told they were out of bananas which felt a bit rediculous especially since we arrived at 6:15pm so it wasn't very late in the evening. I shared the roccota donuts with a couple people and it was alright, the others really loved them. I don't really like donuts to begin with though so that really accounts for my feeling that they were just alright. Servers were friendly and attentative, we never ran out of water. The inside of the restaurant was clean with a nice atmosphere. There was a lovely patio where they had a live musician. It would have been nice if the musician also played a set inside as well as we were unable to hear him when he was outside.

Local owner and head chef Josiah Tam has created an inspired restaurant, that offers a unique and personal experience every time you go. The atmosphere and food are second to none, and the staff are incredibly knowledgable and well trained. Barrique is quickly becoming thee place to dine in White Rock.

Wine list was extensive and had good choice. Vegetables were delicious and beautifully prepared and plated. Gnocchi were too soft to be called gnocchi and could have had more balanced flavour-- the dish was quite sweet overall. The duck was good. Service was friendly.

Wow - this place is perfect and exactly what White Rock needed! I tried a little bit of everything, and it all exceeded my expectations. (The steak was mouth watering!) Not only was the food amazing, but the entire staff, atmosphere and customer service was great. It's perfect for date night, or a wine night with friends. I highly recommend making a trip here!!

A nice addition to White Rock's upper end restaurants. A cozy smallish place in the winter with quite a large outdoor patio in the warmer months. We enjoyed the four course Chef's Menu. Apparently its always a surprise and you find out what you are getting as the food is delivered to the table. A fun idea to be sure and we would go back and do it again. Plenty of food and we were all stuffed at the end! I would like to see more French, Italian or Spanish wines on the menu in the $40-60 range. Pretty light selection in that more affordable range

Lovely little restaurant with great food and drinks! Service is great, and the chefs look like they put their heart and soul into what they do. Some herbs and spices are harvested from a little garden that is grown on site. Fresh food, interesting menu, and nice atmosphere! We had the duck poutine with a flute of prosecco and I forget what the glass of red was but it was very smooth, and the rooibos creme brulee. All are to DIE for.

As a local White Rock resident I was pretty excited to try this restaurant. I had heard great things about fried chicken they did during quarantine. -Charcuterie was $19 a bit pricey for the size but I was impressed with the taste of the 2 cheeses and 2 meats offered. They used quality crackers and didn't charge us extra to change accompaniment to olives. I would recommend getting at happy hour when the pricing is a bit more reasonable. 4/5 -Honey Chicken appy was good. It had a unique sauce with a honey spice taste. A little smaller in portion size than we had expected. -Social Distancing and covid procedures appeared to be in place. Felt safe. -Dessert - the BEST part - Donuts were fantastic! Piping hot with a delicious chocolate dipping sauce that actually tasted good (not like Hersheys nesquick that some places put as the dipping sauce). Yum! Also had the orange cake with strawberries. Pretty good too! CONS... (I love trying any new restaurants in the area and I honestly wanted this to be our new "GO TO" restaurant in the neighbourhood but it fell short in a few areas) -We sat outside and there were ants crawling around our feet (refer to pics)! -I had asked for the heater to be turned on when ordering appys. They only put it on after we finished our appys just before dinner. It was around 8:30pm at this point so it was definitely was getting more chilly outside! -I had wanted to order lighter dinner so I opted for the salad that didn't have any protein. I had asked what options there were to add protein but there really wasn't a whole lot. In the end I got creative and took the chicken tender ( ttop of my husband's fried chicken sandwich) and added it to my salad. On a side note $15 was pricey for that salad. My two biggest let downs were: #1 We had ordered the 1/2L of pinot noir and it was definitely not a 1/2L. My husband and I ALWAYS order this size at restaurants and they definitely shorted us on the wine. Not cool at all! #2 We had come to celebrate my husband's birthday. I had mentioned this to the server. We didn't really get a "Happy Birthday" or congratulations Aforementioned we had ordered 2 desserts so at minimum a complimentary dessert or similar gesture would've been appreciated considering we had chosen to celebrate a special occasion at Barrique. We also had a substantial bill ( 2 appys, wine, 2 entrees and 2 desserts) so providing a complimentary dessert or glass of champagne/wine would've been a nice gesture! Not sure if we'll be back but might just pop back for the donuts!

Awesome little place! My family of 4 went for my dinner. However, signage outside said a burger and beer was $18 and was told that was no longer available. CORRECTION: it was replaced with the aperol spritz special drink . What?? Why’s the sign outside then?? Tsk tsk...not a big issue for us. I ordered the TRUFFLE TOTS which are crispy hash brown cubes with truffle mayo. We enjoyed that and also had the bread & truffle butter which is the fam fav. My main was STEAK DIANE which consisted of a 10oz New York Strip, brandy mushroom cream sauce and I subbed cauliflower for the frites. It was good but I had high expectation if a wow dish but this wasn’t quite that good. There was gristle bits which I chewed a bit too long than spat out. There wasn’t much in way of mushrooms either. This dish was $39 so should be perfect! In the end, there was no discount off our bill for this hence the 4 stars instead of 5 stars. While this isn’t a huge issue, it should have been addressed back to me by the owner. My husband and son had the DUCK A L'ORANGE which was an orange glazed duck confit, crispy potato, sautéed mushroom, creamed spinach. My daughter had the gnocchi and all were totally happy with their dish. Lastly, the fam had dessert. While I didn’t order any, I had a couple of bites. They ordered BANANAS FOSTER which is a banana rum pudding, burnt honeycomb toffee, hazelnut, caramel, bruléed banana, housemade vanilla ice cream - damn, this was amazing!! The other dessert was CHOCOLATE which is dark chocolate ganache, blackberry sorbet, chocolate soil, blackberry jam. Pretty amazing as well! Service was excellent! Very attentive! We had a sizeable bill but this place is worth a visit!

Fried chicken like you've never experienced. Honestly, this was the best fried chicken I've ever had in my life, hands down. Every edible part literally falls off the bone and nothing was left, including the fantastic side dishes of waffle cornbread, coleslaw, and fries. We will absolutely be racing back here with a more robust order! Their pre-orders sell out fast so I'd recommend jumping on them ASAP. Thank you for the delicious dinner Barrique!

When it comes to enforcing the BC COVID-19 vaccine passport rules you guys have my support you are doing the right thing to protect your customers and staff and the general public from the horrible COVID-19 pandemic which has caused a lot of chaos in the world. I strongly recommend going down to the restaurant to eat some very good tasting and very very yummy food or order take out you will love it.

I am giving this a 1 star because the food was just as mediocre as the service. Where do I start, our server seated us didn't ask what we were celebrating nor did she give us her name. Usually at upscale restaurant they ask. They were on the list for Dine out Vancouver, yet there was no menu for it. When I inquired about it I felt the server was trying to steer me away from it. She said dine out menu is different for every table and that it would be a surprise, a chefs special yet she didn't know herself. It was our first time there I did not know what the food was like nor did I trust the chef to spent $50 on a dish I hated. Needless to say the food we ordered was lacking a lot of flavors, too bland for my liking. The desert on a Valentines Day weekend was disappointing. 2 very sad choices, banana bread with a small scoop of ice cream, heated up might have tasted better. The music in the background was also inappropriate, as my husband said very 'gangsterish'. We will not go back.

Being from Europe, I miss the cuisine sometimes and it’s so hard to find it around here. This place took me back to a small Paris gourmet bistro. I loved everything about the place, servers menu, atmosphere. You guys rock. Keep the good job!

This restaurant goes above and beyond when accommodating diners with allergies. We were a table of 8, with a number of different allergies. By letting them know in advance, they offered to create a Taste The Chef menu that the whole table could safely enjoy. On previous visits, they have also tailored a menu that I could safely choose my dishes from, even going so far as to print a personalised menu for me. The chef seems to revel in the opportunity to create different dishes. The food and ingredients are always of high quality and cooked to perfection. Service at the restaurant is excellent; despite being a fine dining restaurant, it is always welcoming and relaxing, not pretentious. Barrique is a truly wonderful place to eat, where being restricted by many allergies feels like having no restrictions at all.

This place is a gem. We sat at the bar and ordered beet salad, white bean dip, and honey butter chicken to share. It was all delicious, and the perfect amount to share between two of us. The specialty drinks were fantastic. Staff was super friendly, and it was great to see how they interacted with each other - this restaurant is a team. We walked in at 7pm almost half empty restaurant, we sat down took almost 10min for waitress to come by. We were looking forward to try the moules frites as advertised on their instagram as a feature as well as south rock buzz. Disappointed to find out it was last week's feature same with no oysters even though again their insta prides on where they get them in Bellingham (not going to say where as it's a treat and amazing) We left and went to the Cabin instead which never disappoints. If you are going to advertise a feauture let customers know if it's weekly / monthly / annually etc saves disappointment. The server did mention they had cod on special if I liked seafood but didn't sound appealing to me or try to make it right with another suggestion etc. Lived here long enough and know that restaurants without a personal touch or something different rarely stick around long term. Customer service is key bad first impression I'm sorry

So excited to try this new restaurant and menu! Already have our reservation for opening week. This is just what this neighborhood needs. My wife and I are excited to see what Josiah and team have put together. After trying last Saturday I cant rave enough about the ambiance and the quality of the food! You MUST try the Foie Gras w caramelized pear, fresh raw oysters, and house-made potato chips with a french onion dip, topped with caviar! The buttermilk fried Chicken was an unexpected treat - best I've ever had. Well made cocktails in classic crystal tumblers and a fine selection of French, Italian, and Chilean wines

The #1 restaurant in any class in the Fraser Valley. Restaurant 62, Cactus, Fortitude and others are trying but just don't come close. First time in we tried the "Trust the Chef" menu for $55 and could not believe the value. We would consider this place most comparable to Nightingale (by David Hawksworth). We opted for Barrique on my birthday instead of Vancouver's #1 restaurant, St. Lawrence, as we live a lot closer and instead of the expected average service and food we were so shocked by every aspect, especially the ingredient quality, friendly and class-filled service, clever cocktail menu, and unique preparations of classic dishes that felt timeless instead of over-thought. The Gnocchi literally blew our minds... Well done. We will be back, soon and often.

So disappointing! This used to be one of our favorite spots pre-Covid. It appears that they are trying to make up for lost revenue by overcharging on their new menu. Sausage cavatelli was 1/3 of a sausage with a cup and a half of cavatelli for $28. On the plus the sangria was lovely. Better value to be found elsewhere.

We have heard so much about this restaurant before the pandemic and would definitely want to try it as soon as it reopens! Meanwhile we ordered the fried chicken dinner that is currently offered; delicious and everything was perfectly cooked! Really appreciated the gluten free coating on the chicken. As a suggestion, would be really nice to have the option of the chicken with just “plain coating” without all the spices. I think that is the comfort food craving some of us are having and for those who can’t eat as much spices! A great meal!

Let me just say that dining here was an absolute joy from start to finish. The customer service was impeccable, and our server made sure to check back numerous times to make sure everything was in order. I went here for my birthday dinner, and I couldn't be happier. I will definitely be returning. As for the food..... Wow. You can clearly see just how much pride and care the chefs take in preparing each meal. Once you take that first bite, you will be in heaven! Barrique is a really amazing dining experience. You really can feel the kitchen’s passion for food come out in their meals. My husband and I come here for pretty much every special occasion as we love how we are treated by the serving staff, the owner Josiah and of course the 5-star food! One of our all time favourites. Great meals especially the handcrafted specialties of the house. Great wine selection. The people here work hard and are eager to serve and please you and your palette. Their wine suggestions are spot on.
