It's good atmosphere. Good food....
On Sunday April 29 2019 my husband and I decided to check out the Red Lion bar and grill as we're looking to move into the area. After we placed our order, we would talking about the wood working of the bar and how we noticed an older clientele they had. Nice relaxing place in our view. About 25 minute wait, which was only a beacon and eggs, and salmon and eggs, I was wondering why this was talking so long. As I was about to say something, the waiter said it will be out in a moment. Once the food arrived, the presentation looked good. After we took a bit, the food was cold. When I mean cold, I mean cold. My husband took a bit of the home fries and said he isn't eating this. Eating cold food can cause food poison. My husband when up to the bar asking for the bill. The older gentleman who we would think is the older assumed we didn't like the meal which is wasn't the case, it due to being cold. He said no don't bother paying for the meal but my husband doesn't like being like this as he is a business owner as well. Overall, $14.00 for bacon and eggs which looked nice but it was a bit disappointment as it only had about 3 strips of beacon, two eggs, 4 pieces of toast and about half potatoes to make the home fries. The fruit as very tiny piece as well. Overall, we won't be coming back to this place as food poison is a very serious thing. When food is ready, anyone should bring out your food as it seems the waiters and waitress aren't up to par. The places wasn't busy so I can't see the excuse for this to be happening. The owner needs to hire good help as being friendly might be great but service is required as well. We wish them all the best and hope this is a learning lesson for them.
Snug pub environment. Reasonable food
New England clam chowder was flavorful with fresh clams. The fish and chips were fresh and lightly battered but the tarter sauce had no real flavor. 3 different servers got 3 seperate orders brought to the wrong tables.I don't know what was with that issue. Otherwise pretty good.
It is so wonderful to have our bar and our staff back again at the pub! Thank you!!!!
This place has a beautiful old-fashioned interior design. The food is good, and the staff are very friendly. Definitely going back soon!
Great pub to hang out at on a sunny spring day. We had cold beer and tasty burgers while enjoying the sunshine on the patio.
My goodness “ Cheers in West Vancouver “ led by Mario . A place to call home with friends family and authentic old pub atmosphere . Customized Cesar’s and they will make it. Today was Bacon , Dill & Garlic with no rim and lots of delicious giant olives . Time for another ...
Nice atmosphere, good food.
Ordered a coke and fish and chips for lunch. The coke was flat and the $19.99 fish and chips were left in the deep fryer way too long. The waiter offered no apologies or even asked me if I wanted something else. This place used to be good...
Great service, fantastic fish and chips. Seem to be a lot of regular customers and we could see why. Highly recommend this place!!
Location is phenomenal, food was on point. Burgers and sandwiches are delicious .Service was quick, efficient and friendly .Highly recommend. A place for all ages .
Great! The waitress sat us in a private room because we had kid which was perfect and it was my first time having bangers and mash whuch tasted delicious!
Great pub/ restaurant. Amazing food. Will go back for a much appreciated appetizer!! Yummyyyyyy♥️
The only good thing about this bar is the location and atmosphere. The burger was the terrible. The salad that we got was ok but still lacked in dressing. Recommend only get a beer and fries and don't waste your money on other items in the menu.
Super cozy & inviting good food - outside patio seating
Super Ambiance , good deals, quality food and great service!
The Red Lion Bar and Grill is one of our favorite stops in Vancouver. The atmosphere is cozy and convivial—just what you’d want from a pub. The food and service do not disappoint!
Great cozy place. Nice to relax next to the fireplace after work and wind down
After a long day flying we found the Red Lion on our way through town and enjoyed a nice meal and relaxing break. The pub/happy hour menu was broad so all in our group found a favorite. A nice assortment of craft beers and cocktails made …
Not following COVID standards. The staff were wearing masks (some improperly) but other than that, the place became over capacity during our meal with people intermingling and no effort to stop that. Additionally, the service was less than mediocre. I felt very uncomfortable in the space and would not visit again.
Asked for a place outside. Needed to wait inside without any information nor any update on how long it could take. No drink offer. No water. Then they forgot to communicate that we were waiting so others took our table.... when we finally got a table the food was not that good. They forgot to bring the second beer. When I was paying the waitress found it more interesting to welcome well known guests then waiting for me to type I in the security code of my credit card....
Typical pub, it's styled more like an older British style pub but features a more modern menu and drink selection. Service is decently fast and has a nice patio section for outside that can be fuller on a nice day.
Sunday roasts are meant to have ROAST potatoes NOT mashed potatoes. It’s in the name. Deeply disappointed. Sacrilege. It’s upsetting to think this is what a traditional Sunday roast is. Also roast dinners are rarely beef, should be offering a roast chicken or lamb, and a vegetarian but roast option. But deal with the basics first.
Great local pub - English style
Close as they come to a British pub!! Very cozy!
Didn't stay long enough to give it a 5. The waitress was awesome, though my beers wasn't cold. Which is weird. Would come again, nice environment.
I came in this evening with my boyfriend and a good friend, and we all really enjoyed having Kim as our server. She has a really great, easygoing attitude, and she's just has a (for lack of a better word) realness about her, which we all appreciated, espescially after the last year without being able to connect much with people!???? The food was absolutely delicious too! Great experience! Thank you Kim for your great service, and to the kitchen for feeding us such deliciousness!
Love the beer and wine choices. Cozy and unassuming atmosphere. Happy hour food leaves much to be desired though.
Food is good, some of the staff could be better...
Food so so and service a little slow sometimes.
Its a nice Irish pub owned by a Welsman, and operated by an Italian restauranteur. The beer and wine selection are excellent. The food can be hit and miss. Stick to the daily specials, which are always great. The various Italian dishes are also very good. The Lamb Shank is pretty good at the moment, but if the chef changes, that might change.
The food was delicious!
Overall, the service is fine, food was okay but the price was too much for what you get. Better to go else where.
Great location, poor service. The place was empty at 3pm. Yet no one greeted me, the waiter walked past me three times not dropping a word, had almost to spell my order “coffee and orange juice” (English is not my first language but it’s not that bad), waited for a simple eggs Benedict course for 25 minutes, the waiter did not check up on me, did not offer a coffee refill. Very frustrating. I’m sure they can do better.
My clams were excellent, my table mates enjoyed their steak and kidney pie and salmon burger too. Service was a little lacking in attendance considering how many staff were on and how few people were inside but our server was friendly and the food came put fairly quickly.
I have visited several North Shore for lunch over the past few weeks. This is place is by far the best in terms of food and service. I was with a disabled friend and every effort was made to assist him with his coat and to get seated. I was impressed!
Dine in
The night started off fine, we were seated, placed our orders, and then everything went downhill from there. We got our drinks, which were fine, Guinness and a good recommendation on wine. Dinner took a while to get to our table, but eh, ok, nothing seemed amiss. Until our server forgot about us. My girl wanted another glass to go with her dinner, to ease the spice in her spaghetti. 30 minutes of waiting, a busser seen our distress, helped us. Which we thought would help, but no! We got the spaghetti reheated, but no second drinks! Until our server remembered us, and got our drinks. By that point I just wanted to cut our losses and leave. As we were finishing up, we did not realize that with our mediocre service, we get free mice! Presuming you could catch one. We seen one or two skittering around on the floor, giving us more attention than our server did. Food was good, but that's about it.
Great service, food was awesome definitely be back to eat and drink soon.
Is an excellent Polly British bar with amazing woodwork lots of beers on tap craft beers the food was very good there was live music on a piano grand piano when we were in there was very enjoyable even though I couldn't have beer they had a non-alcohol beer for me a couple choices which I was very happy about my wife was also able to enjoy a vegan meal we're very overwhelmed happy with the meal that we had there and enjoy the drink is very relaxing got to see a little bit of the Olympics definitely recommended
Slow service. Food ok. Might have just been an off day, would try again.
Have stayed here twice now, first time was a bad experience but decided to give it another try. Second experience was better except for confusion on a service dog we have. Saul was very awesome and professional to deal with and handles the matter, but the guy at the counter the next day ( didn't catch his name but he was a teller bald guy) was quite rude to us and did not make us feel welcome at all
It's a classic neighbourhood pub, great staff, great service and a good selection of beer on tap.
Great place for a lunch on a sunny day
Pub atmosphere with wide ranging menu. Local "watering hole". Friendly, welcoming staff. Great place to go.
Vintage feel, good menu. Large patio for outdoor dining.
Very good food but poor service on our visit.
Great British style pub. Excellent pub food
Decent food, good drinks, great service. ★★★ because the food is somewhat overpriced.
two thumbs up!:-)
I liked the atmosphere but the food arrived a bit cold (burgers) and first pint was flat. Had a better experience there in the past
Amazing food and service, will definitely come back.
Lunch
This was one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. It was really bad. Right from the start it was unacceptable. The menus were dirty with food stuck to them. The appetizer was so poorly prepared I wanted to send it back. Then at the end when we wanted to pay and leave, the waitress was not around. We went out to stand at the entrance to find her and she was sitting at the bar using her cellphone. She completely blew off the service and I had to engage the bartender to pay the bill. This restaurant is awful and we will never return. Do not eat here. Super bad service and unacceptable food.
Awesome place to hang out and have a drink. Great snacks and dinner selections
Love this place. Staff was nice and food came quickly.
Very nice. Really enjoyed this establishment.
Management and staff are courteous, and prompt. The portobello sandwich with sauted onions was fantastic. My boyfriend had a burger that he loved ! Great place to sit outside during the summer. The interior and bar area are tastefully decorated with an old British flair. Highly recommended.
Super cozy & inviting good food - outside patio seating
The roast beef dinner is just as good as I could make at home.
One of the best spots for lunch. Always good.
Great! Fast covid safe
We are systematically working through the delicious menu.
This place looks great, but that’s it. Service is terrible. We had to order at the bar after sitting down for 15mins because no one came by (the place was empty aside from the patio). They messed up our drink order and my food order. When I say no condiments, that includes mayo. Thanks for a terrible birthday lunch The Red Lion. We’ll never be back and I highly don’t recommend it. Also, music choice like Britney Spears doesn’t suite the atmosphere.
Happy locals in one of the few English pubs on the North Shore
Excellent place, very cozy, good food and great service. So glad to have a pub in West Vancouver. Summer time patio is great, just seat over there and you can see most of your friends walking by, decoration inside is really great. It is perfect place to meet with friend have some drink and eat something. It is a neighbourhood pub, excellent to have it. Their burgers and sandwiches are good French fries is great and very friendly service.
Excellent Sunday roast beef dinner, with a side of nice atmosphere!
Great place to meet new friends! Food is really good too.
Hi, the food here is a joke. We ordered smoked meat sandwiches that were served on this weird 'marble' bread and the thinnest layer(s) of smoked meat imaginable (maybe 3 super thin layers). The whole point of smoked meat is to pile it high like they do in New York & Montreal...but no...oops I forgot, it's Vancouver. We love the idea of a local English style pub, but so many times we've walked away from the Red Lion, disappointed. 'We' shouldn't have to spend our valuable time writing online reviews of how 'they' can improve their business. Figure it out guys!
The food here is a little overpriced but it's inline with the neighbourhood. Patio is small and often busy. If you plan on eating here on a Friday or Saturday night, then a reservation is necessary as it fills up quickly. The vibe, decor, and food follow a traditional UK pub. I would recommend spending a little more and going to the Beach House where the food and view are exceptional.
Flat beer and surly waiter. One star for having a sunny patio
Cozy, clean, warm atmosphere. Went in on a holiday Monday and there was no brunch menu which was disappointing but for lunch their shrimp salad sandwich is really good. Fries were average being the frozen variety.
Nice, but not as nice as I wish it was. The food is OK, but Feast next door is much better.
Good food. Good English pub. Quiet atmosphere.
Food just 'OK'. Service while friendly was very slow.
Very good vibe to the place and enjoyed the food
Really enjoyed a cozy family meal here around the holidays. Can't wait to go back during the summer to enjoy the patio.
Nice South facing deck and good food
Frozen garbage food. Same as youd get at IKEA.
Nice neighborhood pub! It has excellent happy hour drinks and specials. Friday afternoons are busy. Very cozy interior and nice patio.
Great ambience, great service, great food the burger tastes as good as it looked in the picture!!
As a Welsh ex-pat now living in North Van I visited the Red Lion Bar expecting a friendly British style establishment, I had read the mixed reviews prior to my attendance but chose to give it a try. Above the bar as you enter the premises (Y Ddraig Goch) is the red dragon of Wales, off to a good start I thought. The interior of the bar does resemble British bars with the fire burning and old woodwork, but thats where the similarity ends! We were greeted by a pleasant female member of staff who showed us to our table, our server than took our drinks order which she quickly returned with. Although polite there was no friendly interaction from the staff, certainly did not resemble a cosy country British pub. We ordered our meals which were served quite quickly, both my son and wife had the roast beef dinner which was warm and appeared to be re-heated. I ordered the chicken curry which the staff added extra peppers to give it a little more spice to suite my taste. Our meals were served by a male member of staff who looked as though he did not want to be there and his service reflected this. After we consumed our meals my wife and I ordered coffee, just one coffee arrived and the second arrived some time later after a further request. We had arrived at the bar at approximately 7pm on Sunday evening and there were very few customers in the premises, the staff were not under any pressure due to work load so there was no reason why they were not providing excellent customer service. My family and I certainly did not feel welcome at the Red Lion bar and I certainly would not recommend this venue to any family or friends in the future. During my time in Canada I have experienced excellent customer service in most places I have dined, with staff polite, efficient and welcoming. Regretably the same cannot be said about the Red Lion staff, not a very good first impression. Disappointed!!
Not a bad place for a quick drink, the fries are good. They took so long to get any food out though, I don't think they had enough staff for the amount of people that were in on a Saturday afternoon. Not a great selection of food or beers either.
Tasty appies, good service, accommodated our book club with smiles on a Tues eve.
Service is scandle, food terrible.staff stole my eye glasses an expensive one and they denied it.i left it there at late night I came back early morning to return back my glasses but unfortunately they didn't return it to me.never can trust this restaurant anymore.....sorry for being honest....
Endless old people in close proximity without masks on. Using the eat and drink loophole to not have to wear a mask. I wouldn't doubt if this place was a super spreader location. Otherwise very nice staff, food's good, typical English pub atmosphere.. pretty much your quintessential drinking hole. Just not a fan of no masks inside a pub that really isn't very large. This is exactly how airborne pathogens spread. I'll go back, but after covid.
The food quality is neither good nor bad. The customer service is neither good or bad. Everything is mediocre here. If you want to spend your time in a super mediocre restaurant, I recommend here! Nothing is neither good nor bad!
Food was great, servers were very nice. Food took a lot more time than we anticipated and it was a bit of a hassle to get plates/utensils/napkins.
Fish and chips are good, calamari was soggy, burgers are just ok.. we went to try something new..
very unfriendly attitude and long waiting time by the waiters. I was going to this restaurants many times, because I liked the space, but unfortunately every time that I was there I had a very bad experience of customer service. Last time, when I ordered our foods, after 45 minutes, waiter came with one food and when I asked where is the other food that my friend had ordered, she told me that she was not sure of our second food. She even did not say sorry for it and we had to wait for another 45 minutes to receive the second food that we initially wanted and said explicitly. There are two of their senior waiters: one man and one woman that if you get them as your servers, they ruin your night by their rude and disrespectful behaviours.
Older crowd that night...nice crowd great music, I love the decor
Nice authentic English Pub atmosphere and good food !
Particularly enjoyed the excellent entertainment on Saturday night while I happily ate my deliscious caesar salad with prawns.
Good food. I had a beautifully presented pot pie and my family had the fish n chips. Service was a touch slow, but it's a nice quiet relaxing spot.
Very average service, great atmosphere, dectn food.
Good food
Great pub food, cozy atmosphere, an amazing rainy evening place to eat.
Great food great atmosphere friendly staff!
Good experience at this pub. It’s my grammas favorite lunch spot. I generally go there for dinner with my grandmother. It’s a good experience
Always great. Best pub in West van.
Had a real good dinner there can't go wrong
Over priced and uninventive menu. Nice vibe, but it will cost you.
Nice, but not as nice as I wish it was. The food is OK, but Feast next door is much better.
Showed up at 3pm for some tasty appies and a refreshment. Friendly service and a nice relaxing time spent on their deck.
Great service. Great location. Great selection of beers.
Friendly staff, great burger, price OK, cozy place... We had a great time.
Service
Pale ale was delightful along with the selection of fish fingers.
The Red Lion is a staple of West Van. Long standing with a great patio for street watching. Very nice beers and always quite good and service with personality. While more 50+ patrons than other haunts, it may be because you always know what you get for pretty good food, a classic english pub interior. Its also the last pub to let folks choose to enjoy the sunny day or hideout at home from C19. In a democracy, choice vs cowtowing feels right. On this day, Earls, Cactus and Taphouse all shut their doors to the public.
Good lunch.. Burger way over done..
So where do I start. The location on the patio was awesome. Loved it! The service was anemic and the fish and chips was not great. Overall I would go again but with trepidation.
Great place to eat and enjoy a drink!
We had Bangers and Mash and seafood crapes ....excellent. A great place to people watch
Good beer, welcoming staff and good food. Nice setting also in the patio.
Good food, could be faster though! The server Jeronimo is the best!
Food was excellent but noisy if you want to have a visit with people.
I know restaurants and bars are struggling for staff at this time but this group are ridiculously unprofessional. First visit to Vancouver and loved it all. Will be back with family. Definitely wont be back to the Red lion!!!!!!
Could be a nice place to eat. Good welcome upon arrival. Drinks brought promptly, but then.... Yes a lunch snack of salad stuff with a few shrimps should not be 23 dollars nor should it take soooooo long to come. When however I went to pay. The bill came to more than 160 dollars for 4 small lunch snacks & 4 soft drinks! The formally very bubbley waitress became noticeably demure and short when I declined her obvious urging to add a tip on top of this already shocking bill for such a small meal. It occurred to me after that maybe we paid for someone's smart dinner by mistake. In which case she has a very large tip & 4 people putting word about, not to go and be fleeced there again! Most of our customers in England ask for a discount. I'm sure I would not be very busy if I treated them like that. Still life is a great learning curve isn't it?
English style pub with Canadian-UK food. Friendly service. reasonable prices. Excellent eggs benny.
OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK , 11 AM TO 11 PM Great!!!. - perfect to hang out with friends and family, Friendly singles, family style, great foods and very affordable. Live music on weekends. SOCIAL DISTANCING FOLLOWED. All type of beers, cocktails & hard liquor, great appetizers. LET’s DO IT!!! SEE YOU THERE!!!
Very good vibe to the place and enjoyed the food
Beer was cold which was great. Really engoyed the company of my fellow patrons. Bob was 102 years old, Jenny 96, Harry 98 and Samantha 93 . If anyone has lost theire dentures please reach out.
Decent food, good drinks, great service. ★★★ because the food is somewhat overpriced.
Food was very ok, had a chop salad which was very nice and a chicken pot pie which my husband loved. Maybe it was an off night for our waitress as she was very lovely, but she was terrible. Appetizers took a very long time to come out(pretty sure it was forgotten to be punched in), had a hard time getting her attention to order food and a very hard time getting her attention for drinks. Wrong drinks were brought and nothing was cleared from our table during service. We had to put our menus on the floor when our food came as waitress didn't take them and appetizer plates were still on the table and weren't taken when our mains came. Seems like the owner might have been the one to seat us and he seemed very nice and polite.
Don't go here if you expect good service. The experience started off nicely... Our server was attentive and had good suggestions. …
Good quality traditional English pub fare and a cozy, old fashioned atmosphere.. As a British expat, this place was one of the first places I went where I was reminded of home, and the great staff, friendly owner, and good food has kept me coming back time after time.
Good food. Good English pub. Quiet atmosphere.
The red lion is always great. With a fantastic British pub atmosphere and a stellar menu
Super British pub, great atmosphere, great Enlish food, like steak-and-kidney pie. Cannot miss it by the red lions at the entrance of the place. It is a bit dated, but breaths historical atmosphere. Fast service, the food was great; tasty, good portion, fair price.
Friendly staff, better than usual fare at place like this albeit it is West Vancouver. Owner is always there and always super friendly.
Great ambience, great service, great food the burger tastes as good as it looked in the picture!!
My favorite summer time pub and patio on the North shore. Great food and drinks, and close proximity to the WV seawall.
Salmon burgers and howe sound brewery beer was good..
Unfortunately, was a horrible experience. The food was plain, overcooked, even the red sangria was bad. I feel bad for the front team, but is not a place to come back or recommend to a friend. My recommendation, don’t go. We ordered nachos, clam shoulder, crepe, salmon and calamari.
Seemed like a great place for a Sunday roast and a pint. Nice fireplace too.
Excellent food and music with Ron Johnston and Cameron Hood
Whenever I visit West Vancouver I make a point of having at least one meal at this restaurant. It takes comfort food to an extreme. Excellent, courteous service, and just a warm, comfortable atmosphere. I usually have the Clubhouse sandwich and fries, which are always excellent.
Ok atmosphere, a couple nice waiters, mostly condescending attitude from staff and abosulte garbage food
Good food nice place
Great ambience, good food, terrible service. Slow, took forever for food, it was cold... had to go to bar to get more drinks.
Meal type
Clam chowder is terrible, the salmon plain and overcook, the restaurant was not full and we waited more then 50 minutes, please don't come, luckily the servers are very friendly
Great pub bit skimped on fries with the $26 chicken pie (expensive). Would expect more fries than a small handful as they cost nothing
Very poor service
Free dart games, good drink specials, haven't tried the food, fun dancing/ karaoke.
Great selection of wines, dessert and general food. Nice patio with fairly friendly staff, service is fast and reliable. Inside is more older style and pretty cool
Food was decent and service was awesome. Friendly staff.
Live piano music when we went on a Friday night. Loved the atmosphere. Very cozy, old english pub vibes. Food was great. I am definitely coming back here again!
Had a burger, great flavors!! The patio is cozy and lots of sunshine. The interior is nicely decorated with spectacular wood ceilings, I would like to go there in the winter for what looks like a great atmosphere
The staff was very nice and very attentive. The food was very good!
Waitress didn't write our orders down and proceeded to mess up/forget our orders. Never even got the appy I ordered
Great fun atmosphere. Very good and varied menu. Recommend the Chicken Hot Pot. Busy but service still fast. Very reasonable prices.
Live piano music when we went on a Friday night. Loved the atmosphere. Very cozy, old english pub vibes. Food was great. I am definitely coming back here again!
A quaint little spot in West Vancouver owner is very friendly staff is very friendly as I will always go back to the lion
Stumbled across this lovely bar. Great food!
$15.95 for a club sandwich which is average. The service is good and the taste of the food is good. The large salads looked excellent as my wife and her mother each had one. The seating is nice and comfortable. I'm from the US. and this would be a $6.95 meal.
Perfect. Excellent server and atmosphere. Going back
Great place to eat and have s drink. Funny my old company Woodsmart Contracting built this place I would say almost 15 years ago....
The worst dining experience I’ve had in years! We had a reservation and was told by the server that there was no reservation under that name in a really rude way. The other member of staff checked and found it. The live music was good but a little too loud to be able to have a conversation so we asked to sit outside. We were told by the rude server to wait until one table opens up and was not offered any drinks or menu while we waited. When the table cleared we sat and waited 15 mins to order and have the table cleared. Our drinks finally arrived and we had to ask for water, which took another 5mins. She spilled it over me and my shoes and didn’t even apologize as she shoved the water onto the table. Our food took 30mins to arrive and was missing items. It wasn’t busy as most people at the restaurant already had meals when we arrived and leaving during the time we waited to be served. The food was ok. Decor was good. I had high hopes but the server really should consider another career. I would not go back again because the service was sooooo bad. She even pointed out that I missed the tip!
I didn't like it. The food wasn't anything that warranted those prices. It was ok and you didn't get sick eating it but it wasn't really imaginative or memorable in anyway other than why did I pay that much for it. The service was also just a pass. They ignored us for the most part just because we order alcohol. How typical... I base this on a one time experience, so maybe that was a fluke. But it is just not worth me going here again unless I hear otherwise from a realisable source.
Excellent food, friendly wait staff, lovely to sit out on the sidewalk patio on a Sunday summer evening!
That good old fashioned pub feeling, with some great food too!!!
Long wait for the food. The food was plain and tasteless , apparently they have no salt in the kitchen. The rice was hard and tasteless too. Runny clam chowder, soggy calamari, overcooked and plain salmon. Worst place to go for dinner. The sangria seemed to be just water with a little bit of color. I won't come back.
Very expensive plain hamburger, had to add bacon and order extra fries as there wasn't hardly any on the plate. $22
Great pub food, cozy atmosphere, an amazing rainy evening place to eat.
I decided to take my out of town guests there since the patio looked so inviting. It was a quiet Saturday lunch. Although the place was nearly empty, it took an inexplicably long time to get our lacklustre, wildly overpriced sandwich selections. My shrimp salad sandwich consisted of a few tiny shrimps smothered in mayonnaise on stale toast. My guests were likewise disappointed in their selections. Where was the chef?
Beautiful British style pub - the best we've found in the lower mainland. Wonderful interior and atmosphere. Original and high quality menu with organic options, and great service. Just wish we lived nearer!
Authentic interior.. poor service.. food isn’t that great .. prices updated though .. wish for a better service .. a bit low class, nonetheless snobby ????????
When we first arrived,we were seated by the manager. He treated us as if we were an inconvenience. There was a long wait and apology from a polite but over burdened waitress (not enough staff) Another couple walked out after being ignored for several minutes. After a very long wait we got our food, which was very good. When I got the bill, I was shocked to see that adding some onions and mushrooms to our burgers raised the already steep price of $16.50 up to $22.50 each A lunch and a couple of beers for 4 people should not add up to $160.00.We will be recommending to all of our friends that they don't go there.Nor will we return. The poor wait staff has to work their legs off due to poor management too cheap to have adequate staffing and gouging customers.
A decent English pub. Cozy, but older crowd.
Lovely cozy British country pub atmosphere
Great English pub with beautiful decor. Yummy food and nice atmosphere. Good service! Live free music on Friday’s and Saturday’s. Piano with old time hits Nat King Cole etc.
Cozy place nice neighbourhood. Good food fair prices.
I want to come back and try their old fashioned Saturday/Sunday English dinner at some point after the restrictions are over. Good sangria.
Great food a drinks. Gabby, Tom and Mario are the best.
Food and service were good but not great, remember everything better last visit
Waited for 56 min for order of 2 salmon and 1 mushroom burger. When we asked why and when it will be ready ? Waitress said : if you want to hit the road you can go. She said we are busy you can see while they served 2 tables that arrived after us. On the side note, 1 waiter and the bar tender do NOT wear mask nor ask for your phone number for contact tracing and no sanitizer at the entrance. Sorry to see such a place that West Vancouver community been going for so long is changing to something as Garbage and careless as this.
Great food, great drinks, awesome service, patio!
Awesome place to hang out and have a drink. Great snacks and dinner selections
The waiter forgot to bring us salt, pepper, and malt vinegar. The chips were overcooked. No refills on water, didn't even ask how the meal was. I have been there numerous times, but this time it was not good. They also did not have bangers and mash which is what I wanted. It's on the winter menu. ????
An fantastic place to have a drink and meet your friends, also nice to eat. Excellent place
Food was good but I felt uncomfortable with out server. He sounded like he was in a rushed or stressed. Herd the manager yell at the buss boy to hurry up then laugh (not sure if this is a bit but was still uncomfortable to see).
Convivial old English type pub with expected food fare. Good vibe.
Great place for vegetarian portobella burger. We would go more often if the mens bathroom did not smell like urine all the time.
Coors light ordered, then told they are out. Paper towell ( a whole one)in my pink coleslaw. But they Did cover my beer.
Quaint little pub. It is always packed with people when I drive by. Eat inside or out on the patio. My food was great.
They have good breakfast here
I'm giving one star for the horrible service that we got from this restaurant. Especially from a tall man around his 40s or 50s. He started making fun of our accents and bully us in front of other clients. He supposed to be our server, but he never came to check on us. We did have reached another server to get our check. That's ridiculous how they treat tourists in this place. The only good part, was this nice old gentleman that was hosting this restaurant.
