Nice atmosphere, very friendly staffs, and of course great food. Sashimi was very fresh, and sushi (both roll and nigiri) were excellent. Sushi rice was well cooked and marinated. I specially enjoyed Oshi Sushi, aka Zushi - Osaka style Sushi. Tempura was nice as well.

I have never had sushi and sashimi so fresh and clean tasting it was absolutely amazing. Prices were fair, portions were decent, and service was excellent. The smoke pressed sushi (Can't recall the name) was my favorite. I will definitely go back for sure.

I think they try to justify the price because of the ambiance and area. The food was just ok, nothing special. The rolls were bland but the fish was 100% fresh. Probably won't go back, there are other great sushi restaurants in the area.

We popped in here off the street biking without any real expectations and were really pleasantly surprised. There are interesting Japanese items on the menu that I don't commonly see here like ume and natto. The saba oshi sushi was amazing, as was the tuna nigiri. Everything the perfect size, the fish fresh and flavourful and the rice done just right. Serving staff were prompt and friendly. We don't live anywhere near the area but will surely be back.

Best sushi place ever! Stumbled on this place which used to be a French restaurant. When you go, try their speciality rolls - oshi sushi, popcorn sushi and black rice sushi. They also have a seared beef carpaccio sushi. Kid friendly as well which is sometimes rare.

Best Sushi restaurant on the North shore! Honestly it's my favourite place to have lunch or dinner or take out. The owners are amazing people, the service is fantastic. Best Salmon Oshi, the Raku roll is so good! The place is lovely, very clean and well decorated. If you have one place to go in West Van it's Raku!

Nice patio and okeish sushi- depends on their mood — sometimes I’ll get a ton of rice falling off the rolls, sometimes the rice is dryer than you would want it to be.. I guess it was a great getaway for Covid due to patio

Delightful twist on Japanese fusion cuisine. Very tasty overall, maybe a bit shy on distinctive flavour and texture but certainly a great family stop. Restaurant does offer traditional western/Japanese rolls at lower price point along with higher priced more creative items but for my tastebuds I wouldn’t mind a stronger taste to define Raku’s personality.

A year ago I had previously given this restaurant a 5 star review thanks to it's unbelievable food and service. My partern and I have been back 4 times since and the service has declined dramatically. Each time I've been back we have been given our bill and have been asked to leave ...... we've both worked in restaurants and consider ourselves very easy going dinners not to mention we spend 200$ minimum each time we're there. Getting asked to leave while there is no waitlist and while other people are still eating is unacceptable. I'm sorry but I will never go back to raku due to their horrible service.

I went this restaurant with my niece who was visiting me from Japan. This place is nearly new so I was excited. Restaurant itself was clean, bright n open but I felt this is not Japanese food restaurant like using previous restaurant without renovation. We set inside n got menu but the server left us about 15 min( btw place wasn’t busy n had 3 servers) so I had to ask her to come n took order.... My niece ordered Oyakodon. I ordered karaage n salmon don. Karaage n salmon don were ok , not impressive but edible not fishy. Oyakodon... oh my... its not oyakodon... its like bbq chicken with egg n mashroom. Taste fine but my niece was really disappointed bc it was not authentic. I was so sad to choose this place bc I wanted her to taste good Canada’s Japanese food. I should be gone to Zen. Price was reasonable but I won’t be back. Around there has lots better sushi place( like zen, kin n bene I like kin bc cost performance n service are great).

- Nova Scotia roll, dragon roll, saba sashimi, nicely balanced tastes, very fresh, and good selective lemon marinading, good attention to about of crunchiness in each roll - beef sashimi, marinade good but beef taste a bit lost - chicken udon, my 95 year old father liked it alot and finished it. The egg was cooked perfectly, impressive - Katsu-don, nicely cooked, egg a bit overdone, ask them to add the egg cooked the same way as in the chicken udon

Great service. Our waitress offered me a blanket because I was feeling cold - we were sitting indoors. I love it when we find authentic Japanese restaurants where the staff are Japanese and speak Japanese with us. It feels so natsukashii... The sashimi we had was beautiful and high quality.

Raku is one of the newest additions to WestVancouver. This beautiful Japanese kitchen not only offers great food, but also a wonderful service in a beautifully decorated restaurant. Very classy yet relax. This is a great spot for families with younger children. The host and hostess are very kind and accommodating. My kids love the rice with Karaage chicken and I love their Oshi menu.

Looked for a West Van Sushi restaurant on a whim after getting off the ferry; to wait out rush hour. Chose this one because of a review that read "I've had a lot of sushi and this place was the best I've ever had" - so that made our minds up. Wow - he was spot on the money!!, we agree. Amazing menu, amazing service and the tuna and Eel was EASILY the best we have EVER had. Lastly, the Oshi is a must try.

I can't describe how amazing the sushi is at this restaurant. Unbelievable. I am not writing this to convince anybody. I am suggesting you try once. My recommendations are: Raku Dynamite Roll, Sockeye Salmon and Dragon.

Excellent place for sushi, upscale looking and cute decor!I had a couple places on my list to try and I am glad I ended up.going here This was so delicious and device was great. Picture is the dynamite roll which was of amble size and has 2 prawn pieces in it compares to the usual one.only complaint would be the chopped scallop wasn't quite as tasty as I've had. Plating was very nice especially if the Sashimi. Covid protocols were followed. Interior is chic, prices were affordable , with tip total came to $28

It's so delicious. The price, sincerity, and taste are also the best. One disadvantage is that working people are not kind.I'm thinking about eating quickly and coming out. Still, it's not a waste of 5 stars because it tastes like a sushi master. I can't stop thinking because it's sushi.

Our kids enjoy coming to this restaurant bc food is quite good and service staff are friendly. However, we’ve been noticing on repeated visits here of Bait & Switch tactics used by the servers. They advertise specific menu items, only to say they don’t have it and suggest much more expensive items. This is a form of retail sales fraud.
