after work out we seen the Moxie Ad at the Sandman Hotel Davie st happy hour and half price pizza after 9 pm, we decided to stop by and give it a try. Food and drink was good! no complaint. When we got our bill, foods and drinks charge at full price, our server was Nichole, I asked her nicely why all the foods charge at full price when the AD said after 9pm Pizza and happy hour @ half price, first she confirmed no discount all at full price, server try to cheat customer! after 2 mins then she went back and fix the bill to the discounted price. This is a message to MOXIE Manager @ Davie, Train your staff right, don't cheat customer! Good foods, VERY BAD service. I personally will not return and Will Not recommend Moxie@Davie to anyone i know, i can tolerate tasteless foods but not dishonesty. i been a foodie for the past 15 yrs, never i wrote a review for a restaurant until today! hoping this wont happen to other customer. i was about to leave her 50 Cent tips, so that she realize how bad her service was, but instead i still left her 18%. Anyway, summary: Good foods, SHITTY service! i should mention the host was super nice and friendly.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We waited 45 minutes for our food with ONE other table in the entire restaurant; three of the four orders were incomplete. Toast was cold. All of the eggs were done not how we asked for them. We had to ask for cream for our coffee...twice. They blamed the slow food time on "having to make the hollandaise from scratch"--the hollandaise was runny and there was barely a splash on the eggs. On top of that, every time we asked our server for an update she was short and unapologetic. After all of that, the manager tried to save face by giving us 15% off our bill--about $2 a person. Nice try, but that won't cut it for the poorest service ever.

Came here with my friends today around 4 ..as we entered the restaurant.....bar tender girl asks us to go out of the restaurant and wait in rain in a very RUDE way .... restaurant was empty ....only one table was booked ....may be she was frustrated on something else ....but really annoyed with the way she greeted

Horrible staff. Came here a couple weeks ago on a Tuesday. Took 30 minutes to cone take our drink order. Order a Margarita, salted rim. Comes, and tastes of seawater from how much salt got into it. Waitress refuses to take it back to be remade. Couldn't stomach ordering anything else. On top of that, she was busy taking to her coworkers the whole time.

forgot to leave a review last time I was here... Ordered a New York steak with a side skewer of prawns. I ordered that steak rare-medium, it came grey all the way through and tasted boiled. Fat never even rendered. Just a mess. Prawns were tasty but not cleaned right, some still having the intestines in. I told the waitress, so she did say she would tell the kitchen but otherwise didn't care about the sub par result of the product. No offer to comp anything etc. Oh well. The real rub was how much i paid for the privileges, the steak and prawn is the exact same price as other places that do it justice. Maybe the chef was having a horrible day, I have no idea, I don't want to risk trying that order again

This is a late review back from Sunday July 3rd. We entered pretty late in the evening, so late in fact that we didn't think we'd get food, only drinks. The server was fantastic, not only did she make sure that we could order food she also sold us on the drink specials so we ended up having beers plus their in house lemonade vodkas. The food was the bollocks as you can see from their pics. Calamari plus pizza. Both were really tasty. On leaving I did tell the manager that the server was awesome but she seemed too busy to listen. Vancouver service is hit and miss but this lady should have gotten a pay rise, hence the review. Wish I'd gotten her name. We will be back.

I came in last night with a group of 12 and we weren’t sure if we would get a table. A red headed man came and greeted us and made sure he could make room for us somewhere. After we were sat it turned out he was also our server and he introduced him self as Tyler. All I want to say is this man deserves a raise or promotion of some sort. We were there for our friends birthday and he made it one to remember, from getting us real muffdives all the way to fake ones with water, he went way above what is “usual” service and blew us away. He is the reason we will come back for many parties in the future!

I have been going to Moxies at 1160 Davie Street for nearly a decade. Although I have never found their food to be anything special I used to really enjoy their atmosphere. I liked the old space but the newly redesigned space is much more hip and modern. However, things have changed when it comes to overall experince. The music is often far too loud and I have to yell across the table to converse with friends and shout at the wait staff just so they can hear my order. The excessive volume once resulted in an incorrect order but the waitress was kind and professional with the correction. The food was satisfactory, the cocktails were good, and the wait staff were professional. The manager Grant walks awkwardly around like the restaurant as though he's a VIP but all he's doing is making patrons feel uncomfortable. He is abrupt and is often seen drinking in front of patrons and staff. He has also been spotted drinking just before exiting the restaurant with keys in his hand. I was honestly glad to see him leaving but I seriously hoped he did not drink and drive. The manager is condescending towards other staff in front of patrons and really drags down the experience. Moxies itself could be a 4 out of 5 without him but with him its a 1. Its a shame that a place with so much potential to be a community hub is being squandered. I won't go back as long as Grant is the manager.

Very nice bar, clean, updated, super friendly service, delicious drinks and decent food (calamari were a tad dry, but rest of food good). Open later on weekends. Plenty of booth seating, clean washrooms. All in all, very nice experience. Convenient location right on Davie St. Paid street parking on Davie, some free parking on nearby streets. They have happy hour from 2-5 pm and another one 9-11 pm.

Do not patronize this racist restaurant. The condescending manager and patheric staff are a gang living with an inferiority complex. Nothing better to do than imagine fake stereotypes where there are none. Their head office will double down. Comical; when you give an insignificant person the slightest bit of power. Went there for a late dinner and drinks with friends on Saturday. Don’t know why they turn on the music so loud you can’t even speak a word in the restaurant. Server is crazy the food is not finish and keep asking can she takes the plate away. We were there to have dinner and drink for a chill Saturday night. The music environment is totally off from the theme of the restaurant, they keep turn on louder is not even a decent place to sit in.

Very nice place where you can get a bit more high end food, meaning that the staff here take care of what they put on a plate and how they present it. The food is good and if you have a birthday boy or girl in your compmy then make sure to mention it to the staff. You'll get a nice dessert on the house (and we got two shots extra as well!) Highly recommended in this part of Vancouver if you're having a dinner for two. Not your typical family restaurant tho.

Went for lunch today. My best friend takes clients there a lot. Music was too loud. We asked them to turn it down and the manager comes over and spoke to us like we were 2 year olds. Apparently, if you blare music it will attract patrons lol. Anyway - the restaurant was completely empty. My pizza was gross - 3 different types of salty meat on top with unmelted cheese. Thankfully they paid my my friend’s burger as I couldn’t eat the pizza and I was starving. We used to go there for years and food was delicious. Oh well -

Not a bad look to the restaurant. And the staff seemed nice, as well. But our server was terrible, the food was over priced, and I see more staff standing around joking with each other, rather than checking on their tables and food orders. Won't be going back, and I won't recommend to any one. The more I think of it, this place caters to the tourists (inflated prices, small portions, and servers who could care less about you, because they may get 1% of monthly sales, rather than there tip out.) This place isn't for locals.

I went there specifically for your bruschetta and found out it was replaced by a whipped feta and roasted tomato.... it was alright but you replaced something great with something that's just okay. This is their chessburger. The meat tastes bitter (over burnt) and is as thin as a hair (nah I’m exaggerating it’s more like half a hair). Very very disappointed. Will never come back again. Agreed with the post saying 7/11 has better food than them. Only thing good was probably our waitress.

If you have any issues with gluten or other food allergies I DO NOT advise eating here. In general Moxies' restaurants have a great reputation for taking allergies seriously, so it was extra disappointing to have such a negative experience with them. I placed an online order, including outlining my son's allergies, and requested a call just to discuss how best to make his meal gluten-free. When our order arrived, they completely mixed up my order with his, and despite 'gluten allergy' being written on his order, his burger was made with a regular bun, which made him sick.

Staff is always professional. I felt there was more personality before the renovations. Food is hit or miss. Happy hour is amazing! After my last review, the GM reached out to me right away, which was so appreciated! I never got in touch b/c I went to Calgary for about a month and a half. When I returned, I decided to give Moxie's on Davie another chance. Will (new staff) has single handedly renewed my faith in this location! I also must give a shout out to Laura/(en) Manager from the UK, (previous staff) I was unaware at the time she was still there. These two are amazing and I am once again a 3X's±/week guest. Great atmosphere, but my salad was soggy and disappointing. Especially considering the price of the food, I really expected better. The serving staff were excellent, and we didn't have an issue getting someone's attention when we needed something. Even though we were a large group, the food came at about the same time, and we didn't have to wait long for it.

Just had dinner delivered to us by Moxie. So disappointed. We paid $100 for a meal we could have picked up at the corner store 7 eleven and enjoyed more for a third of the cost, other than the beyond meat burger. The chicken wings and sweet potato fries were cooked in dirty old oil, tasted oily and were dark and crunchy. The chicken wings were so hard you would only be able to eat one string of meat on the inside after cracking through the outside skin. The burgers were so sad. Not worth the money!!! On a positive note I will say they were very quick to deliver and did get everything we ordered correct.

Was here on Saturday night for a date night with my boyfriend. Unfortunately the experience was not great at all. We must mention our waiter Corey was very polite and professional but the rest fell short. When we first entered we were not greeted at all for almost 5 minutes to the point where we wondering if maybe it was a private party or event going on. When we did order drinks, the wait was quite unreasonable..like 15 minutes for 2 drinks. Also upon recieving his drink an old fashion my boyfriend was told the bar ran out of their signature ice so they had to resort to crushed ice instead. The food modifications I requested were denied by the kitchen whom apparently had no carrots or peppers on hand. The manager did come over once or twice but overall the experience for a three course dinner fell very short of expectations. I cannot reccomend at this point.

I'm not one for posting negative reviews but in this case I feel I must. This location of Movies has lost its way. Consistently empty, poor service and the food has gone way down while the prices have gone up. Today my partner and I went for lunch and I ordered my favorite dish there, chicken enchiladas. They didn't have any guacamole which is supposed to be included, but worse the enchiladas were just tightly wrapped doughy flour tortillas with virtually no filling. The meal was served cold despite the two of us being the only customers. $18 for that?! Never again. My partners $18 beef vindaloo was marginally better, but not by much. Rumour has it they are closing and converting this space to a gym. The Davie Village has many local options. Give this place a pass, they've given up. PS I've been going here since it opened many years ago. I speak from experience.

Came in with two friends for drinks the Friday of Pride weekend. The resturaunt was obviously insanely busy but our server Natalia made our experience absolutely amazing!!! She was super personable and attentive and even though we had been warned that our drinks might take longer than usual due to the bussieness of the night we actually didnt end up waiting to long and never felt neglected or forgotten about despite Natalia's busy section. Myself and one of the friends I was with both work as servers and know how hard it is to give exceptional service when everything in the resturaunt is running later than usual due to volume of tables. We all thought Natalia deserved a shout out for being so great!!

We are extended stay guests at the hotel, and have been here many times. I cannot give Moxie's on Davie more reccomendations. We have had a fantastic time, every single time we come. We came here because we were staying in the adjacent hotel. The first thing we noticed was the music was too loud to be able to have a conversation. After 15 minutes of being seated and watching the staff mill around not helping us we got up and left. 3 of us got out the door without a word said to us, but the last of our group was asked where we were sitting. We pointed at the booth we had sat in and the waitress shrugged, no apology, no attempt to get us to stay. We would have spent over $100, but decided to spend our money at the Denny’s down the street; they were happy to serve us.

I ordered a Skip the Dish order to my brother who lives in Vancouver and I live in Calgary. I contacted the restaurant and told them this was a surprise, and a special meal and they truly went above and beyond! They sent him a personal card with my words along with some extra treats. It was very heartwarming. The manager then texted me a picture to see if I liked everything, packaging wise, and I was so impressed. I know it made my brother very happy as since we were kids we have loved the White Chocolate Brownie . Had breakfast in the morning, it’s right beside the Sandman Hotel. While entering the restaurant, there was no waiters in sight. We just sat down and another 5 minutes two finally came. The breakfast menu had plenty to chose from, all tasting fine. However the time it took was too long. It was fairly quite in the morning as well. The service was friendly and the food tasted good. Maybe it was just that morning.

The food was pretty subpar. I order pancakes and requested the bacon $4 (for only 4 pieces but was super tasty) I also asked for the extra toppings $3 which were supposed to be berries and whipped cream. They forgot my whipped cream I had to ask the server when she came back 10 mins after we were served. The berries also ended up just a hot berry compote sauce not fresh berries as described on the menu. The chicken and fries were not great. The fries were the best part. Chicken was under seasoned so it was pretty bland. The drink I got massive but was 80% ice. All 3 servers left the floor and were pulled into the back so when we tried to pay no one was up front except one bartender who was then also pulled into the back. We were left without anyone to ask to pay for over 15 minutes. The floor was also pretty dirty.

I was here earlier tonight (Sunday) and I had a few things I noticed. The first being how busy it was on a Sunday. There was a big group in the back and the restaurant was full, which is nice to see on a Sunday!!! The thing that stuck out to me was how hard everyone was working. Everyone was running around making sure everything was great! Our server was amazing. What stuck out of everything was the manager on duty. (I think he was the manager, he was wearing a suit and had red hair) he was helping every server with everything from clearing, to taking orders, to making guests happy for the long wait. Will not be back. I had really enjoyed here until tonight. No fault of our server, she was great. We complained of a mouse, which we saw 3 times run beneath tables. Our server was just finishing her shift, but mentioned this to management and thanked us for letting them know. I would also like to note that we did not make a scene after spotting the mouse, and let them know quietly so to not alarm any other guests. What was management's response? Place a "reserved" sign on the table we had just seen the mouse under (because mice don't move?)... We waited another 20 minutes to pay for the bill and leave , meanwhile other staff "subtlety" looked under the table where the mouse was last seen. We were not approached by any other staff onceafter spotting the mouse, despite having spent a large portion of our night here. Very disappointed, and will not be recommending to others in the future.

Terrible service and breakfast. We went in for breakfast before we headed to the airport as we were staying next door at the Sandman. There was only one other table in the restaurant already eating when we arrived. We ordered coffee while looking at the menu and had to ask for cream even though sugar came out with the coffee. We also had no spoons to stir our coffee. Our food took about 20 minutes for eggs and hashbrowns and tasted terrible. Unfortunately we did not have time to go elsewhere so we had to eat it. We will not be going back.

I came in for just a quick drink before meeting up with friends for dinner and I was blown away by this location. I hadn’t been inside since the renovation and fell In love with the new space. I got the hard lemonade which was delicious and was suggested by my server Tyler. He was one of the best servers I have ever had. It felt like he really wanted to chat and make it personal which I loved. I actually convinced my group to come here instead and we ate our late dinner here. Moxie's huevos rancheros that Connor made was the best breakfast meal I have ever had (I admit I did add the drawing on the eggs for a laugh). That I do not say without a lot of consideration. My meal had everything and more a meal should be. For example the presentation was very creative and inviting (who needs to go to Mexico when you can walk up the hill to Moxie's). Next is the layers of chicken, spinach and those little mysterious grains with their outer layer still intact - I have not fiured out what they are - but they are very tasty and nutritious. The hot sauce and the tacos add an element of authenticity that is palpable. I was in heaven when I dove in! Will definately have to come back and see what other meal surprises are on the menu!

Amazing.. food service and especially staff. Upper class vibes and tasteful mood. I don’t seem to always find such a great place but this is a reflection of the type of culture and love Vancouver can provide. Thank you so much!

The manager of this place showed extremely poor judgement when he kicked out a group of indigenous customers because someone had accidentally knocked over a glass. He assumed they were drunk and then staff clapped when they left - disgusting. Will never set foot in this Moxies or any other, especially when this chain doubled down defending the manager and insinuating that someone at the table was drunk with no evidence. The owners of Salmon and Bannock were part of the group, a much finer restaurant than Moxie's will ever be. Will not ever set foot in any of your chain and will encourage others to boycott your racist restaurant.

It doesn’t quite feel like a Moxies, as the decor is so unique and colourful! It was a hot night and we got a table by the window which was perfect. The server was engaging, fun and awesome. He gave great tips to our new friends who just arrived from India and made them feel at home. I had the bruschetta as a snack which was delicious We were trying to find someone on Davie on a Saturday night that both had atmosphere and wasn’t too loud so we could talk - this was perfect!
