Went for a birthday party as it is one of my friend favorite restaurants. The food was OK and the service like a family restaurant that was understaffed, friendly but always a bit slow. My biggest problem was the value; what at first seems like reasonable prices is soon tempered by the quantity on the plate. Don;t get me wrong, it's not that I want more... just lower prices that reflect the quantity being served. We had the prime rib dinner for about $25, but the portion was wafer thin.

My wife and I were looking for a place to eat before the theatre. We walked in without a reservation. None the less, they found one table and seated us. We were looking at the menu when the manager approached our table. He explained that our table was reserved for an hour and a half later so we wouldn't have time to eat before the next party arrived. He did offer us a table for two hours later but by then we would need to be at the theatre. We were asked to leave. Fortunately, there was nothing that appealed on the menu. We walked over the road and had a roast chicken and salad at Fresh St Market. Obviously Amici Restaurant has lots of loyal patrons and they don't need more customers, especially an old couple who don't even drink. We certainly will not join that loyal following or make reservations when we are in the area.

Buffalo mozzarella & tomato starter was not great - spinach not basil, almonds (!), and balsamic glaze not balsamic/olive oil. Did divide it for us since we were sharing; that was nice. Pasta was fresh, we think, but not home made - one was good, the other (carbonara) was not. Very friendly and attentive service.

HIGHLY recommend!! All the food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Service was excellent - not one complaint from our table. It is a family run business and they clearly take pride in their business and have extremely high standards when it comes to their menu, service and the whole place was impeccably clean. Nice ambiance, never been there for dinner but they have great lunch specials! You can get a sandwich or pasta along with soup or salad with a side of focaccia bread (small piece) for about $13.00 after taxes. Great for take out. Pasta carbonara for the win!

My partner and I just had dinner here as our friends highly recommended it. Our experience was good as soon as we walked in the door. We were welcomed in by the owner and waited for a lovely table at the window. The service was very good, the food was amazing. Don't forget the tiramisu. ????The experience was a happy one, we will return. Thank you.

My wife and I stopped here for dinner after checking out some Christmas lights. We ordered the Gamberoni and Granchio and she also had a glass of House White. The Gamberoni was amazing. Many giant prawns and baby scallops. Just the right amount of heat in the dill sauce. The Granchio was ok in my mind. It wasn't as flavourful as the Gamberoni. Lots of crab meat! The final bill came to $60ish with tax before tip. Both portions were very big and fully worth the $23-$25 we paid. We also got some house made focaccia and the dipping sauce was out of this world! The food and the atmosphere felt like "grandma's home and grandma did the cooking"! We will go back if in the neighborhood!

DO NOT GIVE THIS HORRIBLE MAN YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Absolutely hated the service, unfortunately we got the worst server I have ever had. So everything was great until my partners drink came out. He got a rye and coke even though he ordered Coke on its own. The waiter starts shouting at him that he said the wrong thing... Then he says on no its all my fault I am the one who can't speak english properly, as he storms off to get a coke. How dare he talk to us like that. Would not recommend this resturant to anyone. Unfortunately we were so embarrassed and shocked by his outburst that we stayed. He then ignored us for a while before coming back to take our orders. The food was nice but not worth the horrible taste the service left in my mouth.

I ordered in, trying this restaurant for the first time. Great pasta with crab and asparagus ! But Unfortunately the mussels were off, some broken and not opened. The calamari was over cooked as well I really wanted to love it based on seeing many good reviews but it was not a very good experience at all and door dash can’t offer much help so I’m waiting to hear back from the restaurant

Terrible service. It’s Sunday and we wanted to have a family dinner. We called around 6:30 pm to ask at what time was last call, and they said 9:30 because they close at 10pm We arrived at 8:58pm and would refuse service, saying kitchen was closed. Manager came and said he didn’t take the call and said they couldn’t receive us. Don’t come to this place expecting to be served, they will serve you food whenever they feel like it. P.S. they do have the best bread and garlic butter

Exceptional service. Decor is ok. The food was good. Sunday’s they have prime rib 3-course meal special for 25.95. Monday’s it is lasagna. Pasta was good, a bit salty but can ask for less salt. The bread was warm and very delicious. Lots of street parking in a friendly neighbourhood.

The yorkshire pudding was a bit chewy (I think trying to make yorkshire puddings for so many guests is asking for trouble).. It seems dated inside, but staff were very friendly and my pasta dish was delicious..

This is a rip. While food is good, went with 2/1 entree coupon last night. This meant an overall reduction of about $20 but instead was overcharged $10 for the wine, after the first bottle was returned as it wasn't what we ordered. When bill was presented no coupon reduction was found. Owner/waiter then said I'll fix it and took off a flat $10??? These guys must think we're all idiots.

If I could give a no-star, I would. The service was disappointing and the food was even worse. It took over 40mins for our food to arrive even though there were little too no guests in the restaurant. We ordered Chicken Tikka and Dal Tarka to replace our pastas which was salty/undercooked. Instead we got Butter Chicken and Dal Makhani. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone ever.

The service was good however it took a long time to get our meal. The waiter forgot 1 order so we all had to wait for our meals. This resulted in the mushroom sauce on my veal being burned. We were going to be late for a concert so did not complain, just ate and left.

We ordered takeout meals for four people- salmon, rack of lamb and filet mignon. While the first three meals were “okay” the filet mignon was not the steak expected but rather chunks of the toughest meat around- much like stewing beef which just hasn’t been stewed long enough to lose the toughness. A very expensive mistake. If we ever do this again we will stick to something safe like pasta.

We ordered "Agnello Salcatore" for $40 on UberEats (most expensive item on the menu), and the food had no images shown on the site. When we got the food it was less than the size of an appetizer, and cooking and taste of it was so bad. 2 small pieces of meat and just a little bit of vegetables. Are you serious?? It was a complete rip-off. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. First time trying this restaurant, and I am so disappointed. Waste of time and money!

Excellent food and ambiance. I expected it to be a blend of Italian and Indian cuisine based on the name, but it is not. It offers a complete Indian and Italian menu. I didn't try the Indian food. The lamb rack was cooked to perfection, and the gravy was delectable. Without a doubt, I will suggest this restaurant to anyone looking for Italian cuisine. The only complaint was the delayed service, which could be due to the lamb.

Decided to go here for a date night and it was amazing. Bread was awesome and the aoli that came with it was great. I had the seafood cannoli with the rose sauce and it was awesome. Highly recommend it to anybody looking for great Italian food. A bird flew into the restaurant but flew away safely.

This Restaurant is one of our favorites, it has been taken over by the Chef it is excellent . We had the best service at this place. Food was really good, not salty as some have said and I barely eat salt so I would notice. It does cater to the older generation but I’m good with that. I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner here, such reasonable prices, nice ambience, good portions and the service was top notch. Bring back the old school where service matters and you get bang for buck. This place nails it.

Not sure how this place has 4.4 stars. Ordered 5 pasta dishes, one fish (black cod), and calimari. The only positive about the food was the sheer quantity. Otherwise calimari was mediocre at best and pasta dishes were very “family” style, over-sauced, over cooked pasta, seafood ingredients inside tasted canned. Black cod was absolutely brutal. Way over cooked, leathery skin and slathered with butter sauce. Service was friendly but not enough to overcome the food quality.

This is an unpretentious Italian restaurant with slightly above average prices but very good food. Don't expect a somelier or fancy table service. This is a family run business with very good food made with fresh tasty ingredients. We were lucky to go on a Sunday night and have their prime rib which is a deal at $27 for a 3 course meal. It is slow cooked then grilled, so it's juicy and very tender. My daughter who isn't normally a steak eater liked it so much she cut 3 servings. The mushroom ravioli was great with a wonderful sauce and fully stuffed ravioli. The pear and gorgonzola salad was very fresh with the mildly sweet pear contrasting the strong gorgonzola flavor. The cioppino was very good full of crab claws, two kinds of mussels and two kinds of fish. Seafood was very fresh without a strong fishy smell. Their Caesar salad is also great. Leave room for zabaglione which takes a long time to cook to evaporate the alcohol in the wine. Their Gelato is quite good and pretty. update: I'm saddened to learn there's a new owner and new chef who I understand doesn't know how to cook Italian food. I think it's going to become an Indian restaurant.... I love Indian food, but I go to an Indian restaurant and not an Italian restaurant for it.

Amici is now Casa di Amici! New ownership and chef just reopened a few weeks ago. We came for a family birthday dinner. Honestly we have been hesitant to go out for a meal due to COVID-19. Relieved and impressed by their efforts I saw careful attention to ensure lots of safety in place. Hand sanitizer at the door, contact tracing protocols, (leaving name/number,) plexi screening between tables, masks worn by all staff. They have reduced the seating capacity to space out the tables more. Our waiter was skilled, friendly and has a great sense of humour. Attentive. Diverse cocktail and wine list. Now to the food! Bring your appetite! Can't say enough we give it 2 enthusiastic thumbs up from our family. We highly recommend! Often a challenge to please everyone, from 16-79 y.o. in family but we all enjoyed everything we ordered. Salads were fresh and perfectly dressed. Best caesar salad I have had in ages. Pasta dishes were classically prepared, hot and large portions. Rich and delicious. My husbands filet was melt in the mouth and a perfect medium rare and the wild mushroom sauce was delicious. Side vegetables were crisp and fresh. Favourites if we had to choose were the caesar salad, zuppa di pesce, penne norcina, and the grilled filet mignon. Support local! Prime rib on Sunday nights!

We were looking forward to a nice dinner and had high expectations because of the high rating. We noticed there was a large gathering happening, but nevertheless we were seated. We ended up waiting 10 minutes at the table just to get our vaccine cards checked and didn't even receive menus or water. After finally ordering, we waited 30-45 minutes and at that point only half the people at our table had even received the drinks they ordered. For some reason the servers were not aware that wine should be served in a glass, so we had no glasses. When we brought attention to our missing drinks, the server came back with one other drink (one person was still missing their drink). If the service was the only issue, we would have stayed. The bigger problem was that the restaurant staff seemed to be having a personal gathering which the staff were more invested in. My advice to the restaurant: close your business on days that you are using your location for a personal party. We ended up leaving hungry and upset. But not without being confronted by members of the personal gathering who albeit were very apologetic, were also holding wine glasses and extremely unprofessional. Luckily a nearby restaurant made our night better. I would not recommend this place.

The place has a nice ambiance, I'll give it that. We were there for a family meal to celebrate my father's milestone birthday. The pasta I ordered had so much salt, it was inedible; I had it replaced by another pasta dish that was also far too salty. Then, you'd think after that the waiter would take some initiative and bring out a surprise dessert for my dad (as other establishments do), but I had to go and cajole him into it. He also neglected to correct the bill...must have been too busy primping in the mirror.

Horrible food and service!!! This place used to be my favorite restaurant, Been going to this restaurant for 14 years. I'm not sure if the owner / management has been changed but nothing's the same. The food quality has changed and is terrible. It's a shame. The server had no idea what she was doing and wasn't attentive at all. I usually don't care about the service as much as i care about the food, but both food and service wasn't good at all. Never again!

Once inside from the busy street, the setting was enjoyably intimate. We found the music a bit loud and our request to soften it was quickly accommodated. The Italian menu is varied. We found the pastas absolutely delicious. My veal medallions was a bit dry but garnished with a rich gravy that helped salvage the flavour. We passed on desserts as we had found the main course rather filling. The latte was excellent.

Highly recommended. Beautiful and friendly atmosphere with very delicious foods. We usually go to other parts of the city for occasional dinner but this year, we decided to support local restaurants and we came here. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of our food because it was perfect and we could not wait. But I took some photos of our appetizer and dessert. The guy who was our server who seemsd to be the owner, was very friendly and helpful. And I definitely will come back soon.
