Really nice small place enjoyed the food 100% and our waitress was amazing kept coming back and forth making sure everything was good. The food wasn't over cooked or tasteless the kids really enjoyed their plates which is super rare lol a tiny expensive but nothing to crazy but i mean the amazing food and staff i can't really complain can't wait to go back

Great Healthcare Matters

Nice meals, but they need to act and do more about the odd smoker outside by the no smoking sign where people are eating. This place couldn't care less. Also manager very rude from the start on ordering, unlike the staff who are far better mannered and receptive. Unfit to manage, shocking, bellowing out rudely in front of others copying what I'd already said that we're leaving, there's far better places to eat. She's very unprofessional and needs customer and people skills training, or to be replaced by one of her better behaved staff. Won't be wasting our time bothering to eat here again. Off to a far better place now.

Fantastic service..and THE BEST nachos. Truly, I don't want to tell anyone about this place and keep it to myself...for fear they become too popular and I can't get a seat anymore. But they deserve the good credit and recognition.

They have amazing food here. I ordered the chicken fried chicken, it was the best chicken I’ve had. It’s so fresh, good portion and decent price. My boyfriend got the chicken fingers which was highly recommended and he was not disappointed. The service was good and fast. And the ambiance is also nice and we would for sure come back.

I ordered their fish and chips as it was highly recommended. It was absolutely delicious. The fish was meaty. The batter was not overpowering. The fries was crispy and soft in the inside. The coleslaw and tartar sauce was also delicious. I have ordered here numerous times and its consistently good. It doesn’t seem to matter what I get because its always delicious. My definite go to for fish and chips.

Amazing food! Especially for a small restaurant in a mall its pretty good. Wings were perfect and here's the best part. My nanny is a COMPLETE KAREN and usually complains about everything but she never complained about squires.

I like that restaurant. It has become my Go To if I am meeting friends for lunch or dinner. Quick service,friendly and delicious.My favorite is the salmon served with tasty veggies. Can you not juge a restaurant by its vegetables? They make broccoli taste good!

Was there with a girlfriend first time in what seemed forever. Our food was AMAZING! I had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly how I liked it. My friend had the strawberry summer salad and subbed out the chicken for shrimp and she loved hers as well. I think our server was Kelly? She was fantastic! Will definitely be back!

called to ask about the meatloaf due to the bad review and the girl sad it was really good and shes had it. well ill tell you its awful. looks like a tv dinner meatloaf and it had to of been a couple days old. my stomach hurts as im writing this. mashed potates arent good either no flavour

My Husband and I have now been here every Friday night for at least 10-12 weeks in a row and although we do not normally do reviews on places we have eaten we felt the need to write this one . What started out with bringing my elderly mother-in-law to a restaurant that was fully accessible for dinner has evolved into our Friday night "date night" go to place. Each week we try a different menu item or the Friday special if it suits our taste buds. We have never been disappointed with what ever we ordered. Portions sizes have exceeded our expectations and pricing is more than fair. We still have many menu items to sample but highly recommend Ye Olde Squire to all our family and friends. Cheers to all the staff that make our weekly visit so memorable. PS: the wings are amazing!!!!!

The Buffalo chicken fingers are incredible. Very crispy, light, and overall delicious. The poutine I ordered on the side was terrible but it didn’t ruin my experience because of how good the chicken was.

My friends and I decided to go to Ye Olde Squire for dinner last night. We hadn't seen each other in ages. The atmosphere was perfect for us to relax and catch up. Service was awesome and they allowed us to take our time without pressuring us to order or leave. All of our food was excellent and dessert was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

Enjoying a spritzer here today. They have $6 house wine on Wednesday’s. The staff are very friendly and the service is very good. I can’t comment on the food as I’m not having anything to eat this afternoon. The crowd seems to be mostly locals. It’s not a huge pub, and likely seats around 100 people. They have quite a few televisions and it would be a good spot to catch a game. The only downside is they don’t have a patio.

A Frequent favorite. I usually order the classic squire's beef dip this time I went with the fish and chips,ordered the two piece haddock when I should've ordered one since their portions are enormous. Excellent service our waitress Kelly remembered us and asked if we wanted the regular. Fast and Friendly environment located at the front entrance of the seaway mall.

Very traditional and great overall. The atmosphere was excellent and the waitresses were fast and friendly. I got a shepherd's pie and my friend got liver and onions; we both greatly enjoyed our meals. I definitely recommend this place 5/5.

We were told that if we wanted good fish and chips to come here... They do NOT disappoint!! The fish and chips were definitely in the running for the best we've ever had! Our service was great, the wait wasn't long and the atmosphere was casual! The prices were decent too! We will definitely come back again!

Unable to attend restaurant because my family has 5 people. They limit the customers at one table at 4. I have me and my SO and 3 young children; one is barely a year. Strange rule to turn people away with. Oh well spend money elsewhere ????‍♂️

We were waiting in a 25 minute wait at MT Bellies which is directly across the street from this restaurant. So I thought I would call and see if there was a wait. The lady I spoke to on the phone told me that there was no wait time for my family of 4, and that there was plenty of room. So we drove over, which took literally 4 minutes. We walk in and the place is packed. The hostess tells us that there will be a wait time as there are no open tables. I explain that I just called and was told the opposite and that we left our spot in another line at another restaurant. She looked at me like a deer in headlights and said she would try and take care of it. At this point I'm very annoyed that I was lied to, as it shows horrible customer service. This is not the first time either, on a few occasions we have had horrible service and horrible food, at one point my wife and her friends sent back all their meals and walked out due to how bad the food was. We left immediately just on the principal of it. To conclude, we have been going here since they opened. And it started well for the first couple of years, since then its just taken a massive dive on service and food quality, and a huge increase in prices. I can no longer support this business as a customer and will no longer be attending this restaurant.

It is so great to finally be able to visit and dine in one of my favourite watering holes in Welland. The food was awesome as usual and the staff were warm and welcoming as well. If you are at the mall, skip the food court and drop into the Squire instead.

Meh. Nothing special. We used to be regulars until we moved out of town 3 years ago. My son chose the Squire for his 15th birthday meal as he was feeling nostalgic. I get that it was mid pandemic (Nov 14th).... but there was only 6 other people in the whole place (literally, I counted) and it still took 45 minutes before our order was taken and then another 40 minutes before we got our food. The only thing that can explain this is that the had to go out to catch the fish that my husband and son ordered first. I had the shepherds pie which was super dry and our daughter had a caesar salad which was drowning in dressing. We are frequent restaurant patrons and the Squire used to be fantastic, but all I know now is that we won't be back anytime soon. (Psst.... when you have only 10 people in the place on a Saturday night, you make those 10 people feel special. They didn't have to choose your establishment. Just sayin'.)

It's easy to kiss this location as it is situated right by one of the malls exits. The staff there was friendly and the food service was on point. I ordered the chicken pot pie there and I was not disappointed. It's cozy and great for drinks after shopping.

The only reason this is getting a 4 star is because of the price of a beer and the slow kitchen. The service by Kelly was amazing! The food was amazing! It was pretty busy for a Wednesday night so maybe they didn't expect to be so busy, but we waited a pretty long time for a simple order. The atmosphere is awesome, great little spot. Everything about lunch here was bad except the food. Honestly looked like every server would rather die then be working and in total waited at least an hour just for someone to help us. Food actually pretty good but couldn't drink my drink cause it smelt like dirty laundry. Couldn't even ask for a new one cause like I said customers were avoided like the plague. Haven't been here in probably 3 years and nothing has changed. I feel awful having to write this but hopefully the owners can step up their staff or dishwasher..

My favourite Welland restaurant. Never let down here. Last week I attended this restaurant with a child. Both of our meals were awesome - highly recommend the calamari greek salad. Our server, Virginia, was very attentive and kind.

Our go-to spot in Welland! Haven't had anything that wasn't delicious, and there's a nice variety of food. I gave it 4 stars because I think the appetizers are where they fall short and some are pricey for what you get.

Great food great service Cheryl the owner a very nice person comes over and says hi all the time highly recommend. Just had the lemon pepper haddock rice and vegetables. I totally enjoyed it nice fresh vegetables and rice nice healthy choice would definitely have thus again highly recommend

I don't understand why this place isn't packed. Every time we go we get great food and service. Wings are to die for, mozza sticks, ruben, chicken fingers, fish...I could go on. Are all fantastic. Probably the best Ruben I've ever had too. This is absolutely one of my favourite pubs. They have an awesome menu with some original items. Not just your standard boring pub fare. And they have their own spin on everything they do.

Very nice service but the food wasn't the best. I got the Greek salad and it was disappointing. The leaves were limp and the toppings were few and far between. The atmosphere was beautiful though!

Great little pub. Great food! Fantastic service! This review was during Covid. Very clean and adhered to all Covid regulations. Screened for vaccinations including matching ID. Even had hand sanitizer at every table. Welland Public Health would be proud of a job well done!!

Ordered the meatloaf and it was not good. Hubby had the honey garlic wings. We waited over 20 minutes for our appetizer. It wasn't busy when we were there. Haven't gone there in a few years and now we remember why.

My husband I went here for dinner last night. Kelly was our server and she was excellent! I had the fish and chips and my husband had the meatloaf. The food was piping hot and absolutely delicious. Nice atmosphere and very prompt service. Good sized portions and very reasonable prices. Will definitely return.

Stopped in before a movie for a snack. We ordered the nachos which were very good and had lots of toppings. They are definitely for sharing. They have good drink specials and the service was friendly. Would visit again.

My partner and I went to ye olde squire a couple of weeks ago the service was excellent our serve Bobby made sure all of our needs were taken care of: we never ran out of drinks! The food is beyond compare and the best pub food in the region I recommend the wings, buffalo chicken strips, quesadillas and sweet potato fries. We ordered 2 meals each with the intention of taking lots of food to go because it is just that amazing!

Nice place always busy. I went there yesterday for lunch while out Christmas shopping with family. I ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes. It was so good. Parts were a bit dry but it wasn't worth complaining about. The issue I have is the price for some of the menu items.....the price of beer i was shocked when my bill came and saw that Four OV's alone were $19 and change.

One of our favourite restaurants in the Niagara Region! Staff is friendly and accommodating, and there is a great selection of food on the menu, and we have been working our way through each item. We love introducing the place to family and friends, as it's hard to find a restaurant with reasonable prices while at the same time offering quality, mouthwatering dishes. We enjoy meals here regularly, and the food is consistently delicious every time, regardless of how busy it is. Just enjoyed lunch there this afternoon, had the Greek Calamari Salad, and it was perfection!

I did not plan to rate them publically until I had a chance to talk to them first. Unfortunately they don't respond when you attempt to contact them through their website. In the past my review would have been 5 stars as it was our go to place. However my last two Take out meals have been substandard at best. I absolutely love the Beef Dip, however I make sure that I don't get cheese on it since I react to it. My last two have both had cheese on it even after having my order read back to me twice. The last order, my fries were cold, not warm .... Cold! I should not have to check my meal before I take it home and I certainly am not wasting time to return to the restaurant to complain. I am truly disappointed that this great restaurant has fallen off it's game. Now we have to decide whether they get another chance or if we have to find a new go to restaurant. Had nachos and sheperds pie on the bar side. Nachos were a good size for 2 people and cheese was well baked on top which we like. Sheperds pie had great flavour and a good size portion for 1. The bartender served us, he was friendly and attentive. Overall great night out.

The food was very good. We had the Buffalo Chicken Naan bread appetizer and it was delicious. Our mains were the Beef dip, yummy, and a very good portion and the Chicken, really good, rich , light and flavourful. Our server was awesome, attentive and courteous. A great experience, and changed our thoughts from the last couple experiences. Kudos.
