I’m from out of town and came here to hang out with my friends for lunch we waited 15 mins before we could be seated and the place was almost empty! Once we ordered our food I had ordered spaghetti and meatballs, it came to the table and the spaghetti was literally floating in a bath of water and tomato sauce. We told the waitress it was watery and she told me she would bring me another plate she goes to the kitchen and comes back she said it would be a 3 minute wait 15 minutes later once all my friends were done eating she brings my plate and says “is that better for you “ with the most snotty look on her face. Anyways none of my friends liked the food from the soup to the salad I just wouldn’t recommend this place.

We were highly recommmemded by a friend to try MT Bellies, when we got there the wait time wasn’t long and the front desk staff were very friendly. BUT To be brutally honest that was the best part... our server Caitlyn couldn’t give us the time of day not personable at all Now on to the food my quesadilla was burnt and served with the better half facing up like what chef does that?! and on top of that the chicken was horriably dry! ...when it came time to pay my plate was still full and the waitress quickly asked if we needed the machine and walked away not giving me a minute to state that my dinner was burnt and dry ... ended up paying for the whole meal honestly people?! ???? Overall experience 1/5 very much disappointed wouldn’t reccomended.

Wonderful staff, awesome food. I loved that there was a sizeable menu for my children to choose from. There really wasn't much of a wait for our food. Within 5 min of getting our appetizer, we had the rest of our meal and we all got to eat together instead of the meals being brought out at different times as we've experienced in other places. I will gladly drive the 40 min from Dunnville to Welland for a meal out.

The food is good and my kids really like going here but the service is really slow. Every time we end up there I promise myself it will be the last...We go because the kids enjoy it but I always leave angry and the servers are slow and inattentive it seems unless you know them. The "Funky Fried Dills" are great (My wife's favourite) and so are their wings an nacho's, their steaks are ok and the cooks can never seem to get what rare is....If the service was better they could certainly earn a 3...

I have loved MT Bellies since I moved to Welland over a decade ago. There have been some menu changes over the years and I think it's for the better! There are weekly specials now which is great for regulars who have tried everything. It is getting very busy lately though and the last couple times I was on a wait list for about an hour. It's a good idea to call ahead and make a reservation.

Friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere. Good steps taken to bring comfort during Covid including paperless menus (unless you need a single-use copy), outdoor dining, mask-rules inside, and more. I'd give it five stars but I've been twice and the one steak I had was disappointing. Everything else was delicious.

This is Review for last time they were open, than had to close again due to covid. My son and I came here on a Sunday. Was strange feeling per covid and being set apart from everyone. Anyways server we had and rest of the staff were EXCELLENT, he was very attentive and food came out fairly quickly, was hot. Clean, quick service, good family type basics. A++++

Honestly I have never had anything bad to say about M.T. Bellies. This is the first time I've been in a while and I have to say it was amazing like always. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great, out waiter was polite and friendly. The food: They brought out my son's (15months old) food in a timely manner it was honestly the best kids meal I have ever seen, (Chicken fingers and fries) my wife just wanted and app and I ordered my self the chicken Parm with a Parm Alfredo sauce and penne and let me tell you I died and went to heaven. The chicken was perfectly cooked and crispy, the penne was perfectly El Dante and the sauce was very well done. I will most definitely be back.

Haven't been here in years but had dinner when a friend came back for a visit as we used to eat here often. We all enjoyed our meals and the service was good while at the same time being unobtrusive. The staff didn't rush us out and we were there for a while catching up. The only thing I found odd was the cutlery for the whole table was placed on a tray for everyone to take off themselves. This is a poor choice during cold and flu season.

Waitress didn't remember our orders, and messed up 3 times when repeating it back. Asked for mayo on the side, didn't get it and had to ask a different server for it. Time was okay, but she constantly was coming over and asking " Do you need anything? Or want anything?"every 4-5 minutes when we were just trying to enjoy our meal.

Meals were not as described in menu , staff friendly and apologetic however achieved no customer satisfaction at all, on-top of that it was a very quiet birthday celebration, the sever was specifically asked for no singing and yet we were surrounded and sung at full volume , overall extremely disappointed, honestly I could make better at home.

Went to M.T. Bellies for lunch with a friend. We ordered an appetizer and two meals. The appetizer was really good however that can't be said for our meals. Both meals were cold and we were unable to eat them. We ate what was left of the appetizer while we waited for the waitress to return. After waiting over fifteen minutes for the waitress to return we saw someone else busting tables and called him over. We explained that our food was cold and he took it back. We returned and asked if we would like it recooked or would like it off our bill. We asked that it be taken off our bill. The waitress took another ten minutes to return and asked if we were getting the food recooked and brought back to which we said no we would just like the bill. She brought us our bill, we paid and left. Overall it was a very disappointing lunch. We have been to M.T. Bellies in the past and have never had any problems but this was ridiculous. Would have been better if the waitress had come back to our section at all so we could have spoken to her instead of someone else. She didn't even come back until she came to ask if we were getting our food recooked.

We went here for 20 years. Not anymore. The menu changed , the portions are smaller but the prices are higher.last straw when we ordered a kids chicken finger meal for my son. The portion was 4 chicken fingers and some fries. When the bill came they charged us for an adult meal. 17$ plus tax for that not including drink either. Manager refused to correct the mistake . Save your money and go elsewhere.

empty bellies has always been our staple go- to restaurant however we went tonight to find that a new chef was hired resulting in the menu being reduced and the quality of food decreased. our order was wrong as well and they tried to overcharge for the burger we ordered. So sad that such a great place is losing its consistency due to a new chef:(

Two ends of the spectrum with my experience here yesterday. Staff were very friendly, and I love that for pickup orders they bring it right out to the car. My girlfriend had the Spicy Bacon Mac, and loved it. I had a bite, and it was delicious! My dish was the low point of the experience. I got the Veggie Butter Chickpea (basically vegetarian butter chicken), and it was by far the most disappointing butter chicken/chickpea style dish I've ever had. It didn't taste bad per se, but it wasn't flavorful whatsoever, and the naan was also flavorless and very very chewy. For $17 I expected much much better, considering it's priced like a "premium" menu item. That being said, I would have still been disappointed the dish if it had cost $10, it simply wasn't anywhere near resturant level quality, it was like someone's first attempt to make their own butter chicken at home. Hopefully this was just a 1 off for them, and like I said earlier, the Mac was absolutely amazing! But I'd never order the butter chickpea again, and would caution you to pick another dish if you're considering it.

Apologetic when you have to wait . The food is priced very well and the food always seems to be absaloutely delicious . I'll be honest, huge burger fan here, M.T bellies use to be hit or miss, A lot of times toppings were incorrect as well. I notice they have overhauled the menu and have a few new burger options,. I have been impressed the last 2-3 times, burgers are juicy and much more appealing. MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT, toppings are correct and fries seem to have improved quality wise as well. Wish i could give 4.5, don't see that level of turn around too frequently, Will say Nachos were always good as well

They keep your tips as a host or bus position for 3 months the manegers give contradictioning orders as one of them belittles you and is very contradicting one even went to an extent of pushing me out of the kitchen.(*with there no hands on rule*) Not to mention the shifts that i had that only lasted an hour to two hours witch if your under 18 your not enditled to the 3 hour rule. When you walk an hour to and from work and work an hour its not worth it. If you serve there are times i saw where if you work a 8 or 6 hour shift if its busy you get no brake and if you say something they take your hours away. Over all not a good experience cant wait to start working with better people and better policies

This place use to be good...Dont know what happened. They tried charging us for beers we didnt order, aswell with the ones we got. Our apps didnt come out until after they served and we finished our food. Three of us ordered chicken parm and they all were different. So I just finished having a steak dinner it came with 4 pcs of broccoli that was hard like a rock and a baked potato. You think with the big potato they would bring you some chives or bacon bits or cheese all you got was a big potato in a little butter as a topping like you think after spending $75 for two people that they would give you better toppings. Would it have killed you to spend an extra $.10 and throwing some bacon bits so cheap. I will never eat there again the broccoli was hard like a rock with no flavour my plate looked empty I’m sorry but for $75 I could’ve gone to the keg sorry but either up your game or give people better food. It is literally THE ONLY restaurant I've ever been to where each time I ordered something different it was absolutely amazing. No complaints about their food at all! I just had dinner here. I ended up having some weird allergic reaction causing my throat to swell and me to choke (I’m not even sure what it was) the manager came to check if I was ok. Gave me water, comp’d my meal because I couldn’t eat it and then sent me with some different food to eat later. Our server was very nice and friendly too. Thanks for making a scary and embarrassing moment less nerve wracking. They have tons of vegan and vegetarian options I was so impressed with the menu! Would eat again if I knew what I was allergic to honestly.

M.T. Bellies is the place to go for great food in a welcoming atmosphere. I have never had a bad meal there and the wait staff are fantastic! They are very helpful in suggesting different foods and even when the place is really busy the food comes out in a quickly. I would suggest getting there early (4-5:30 pm) as the place fills up quickly which is a testament to the great food and wonderful service.

Great place with great food. The atmosphere is great as well, they have a sports bar and a big dining room, leaving room for anybody. For food, there are a wide selection of options, from burgers to steaks, salads and so much more. There will definitely be something for everybody. They do have a variety of kids options however they are the options you could find at any family friendly restaurant. The staff are very friendly and they recommend a reservation as the restaurant does get very busy on week nights and all day on weekends.

Great food and drinks! The service is hit and miss. I find that right up until dinner time that the staff is good, and then right around dinner time the service tanks. I love going here but have learned that lunch here is a better idea than going for a dinner. Not that I don't like the food, I just think that if feels too rushed. Like they need your table and can't get you out of there fast enough. This has also made for some dinner time errors. I have never had that problem at lunch time .

I have to agree with the review below. Let's be honest, the food is great and mouthwatering and waaaaaaay better than wetland deserves. But that's where the buck stops. The food can only be as good as the service that serves it and I can completely agree, having Adam as a server not too long ago was the single worst customer service experience I have ever had. He WAS barely there and when he was there he had an egocentric flare about him that would only be seen in brain surgeons and not someone in the customer service industry. The renovation is fine and the food as always is pleasant, but the main thing that's needed are servers who, you know, actually serve....?

Any place that has paper on the tables and crayons to draw with is a good restaurant in my books. We visited on a Saturday night and the place was packed. We were told it would be a 25-30 minute wait to be seated, which was fine by us. About 10 minutes passed and we were already seated and eating complimentary nachos! I've always had a good time here and I love the food. The staff are always friendly. Even when the bill comes they give you a handful of candies on top of it. 5/5 stars ☺️

Used to love coming here for the veggie burger which is truly one of the best around. I'm a vegan though and on our last visit our waitress said to not order the fries or anything else fried as they fry everything in the same oil as the chicken wings. We Used to bring the kids because they loved the fries but we'll not be going anymore. They say many options are vegetarian but if they are using the chicken wing oil they really aren't. I've told them I'm vegan many times before and they have altered meals for me but this was the first they told me that they use the same oil for everything. Maybe it's a new policy. Any waysI won't be going back until it changes.

First visit since the renovation and I have to say my husband and I were impressed. The menu is larger with tons of variety and the place is still as cozy as before but with an updated look (sad to see the fireplace gone though). Food is delicious and portion sizes seem pretty good. We were disappointed with service on this trip and that brings down my score significantly. First, we were the sole couple seated in the end room with a large group. Wish we had picked bar seating instead, I suppose that's our mistake. Still, bummed we saw so many seats open with the rest of the couples and such but we were seated alongside the group. Second, we BARELY saw our server Adam. Waited forever to even make an order after getting our drinks. Then we saw the other waitresses more than him the rest of the night. We saw the other wait staff were very busy. But our server was never to be seen (like in the building at all).

This buffalo cauliflower was the best I have ever had! Highly, highly recommend it! It was actually a recommendation to try it that brought me into MTBellies and I couldn't be more grateful as it's my new favorite!! The local brew on tap from Niagara Colleges teaching brewery was awesome as well. Staff was helpful, and friendly. I never got the chance to ask how local their food is but based on the menu and the art I would assume they do their best to use local farmers when possible? Next time I will find out!

Loved this place. First time in Welland so we followed the crowd. There was a 10 minute wait to be seated when we walked in off the street. The place was packed. Usually happy with the food, chicken wings are always great and menu choices, but it seems that the menu has been changing a bit more often & gotten smaller, (probably because of COVID which is understandable) recently tried the 1lb Ribeye steak, which is the only steak available, there’s supposed to be a fair amount of fat, but the one I received was mostly fat so not great but not horrible. Father's Day 2020 and my 2 oldest adult children wanted to treat the family out for dinner (7 of us). Unfortunately, my son picked another restaurant down the street and made a reservation. We get there and the manager refused to let us all sit together (wanted to split us up and sit at two tables - 6 feet apart even though the tables in the parking lot were all empty), so we left, went to M.T. Bellies and within 5 minutes, a few changes, the manager made room for us! This is just one of the reason's I love this place! The customer service is always great, the food is always on point and we are always made to feel welcome.... kind of like family!

I couldn't eat here. We were told 25 minutes by Tom for the wait. Then an hour an 26 minutes later we were seated. I personally left as I had lost my appetite to eat there after that wait. My family stayed and they indicated to me that the food wasn't spectacular eitger. Considering we could have gone to many other places and been seated and eating in the less time this is a disappointment. Tom was pleasant and apparently have a discount to my family but I can't see myself recommending the place and seeing more than a few reviews stating similar experiences it seems this isn't an anomaly. There's plenty of restaurants I will suggest if you desire that are consistently good with seating and fabulous with food. Maybe I'll try again sometime but I'm not sure. Sad thing is, it used to be a good place years ago so I was excited to eat here when we discussed it. Save your time waiting, drive a few minutes further and go to Mossimos in Fonthill. Heck find a Jack Astor's or the Swiss Chalet Judy down the road as they are both quality and consistent. From my past experience, you'll be seated and have a memorable meal for an equal or better price with much better parking options and better service.

M.T. Bellies is a Welland classic. Their beer selection is fantastic and they have a few items on their menu that are go-to items like the Buffalo fingers, buffalo bird, or philly steak wrap. Food portions are excellent and exactly what you would expect. Occasionally service can be slow because it is busy and the food/beer is slightly expensive, but overall a staple restaurant of Niagara.

I am extreamly upset with this resturant. Not only did I wait 45 mins for my food to get to my table, but my fettuccine Alfredo tasted like butter noodles! Absolutly no sauce on the noodles what so ever! Asked for more sauce and by the time the sauce got to the table everything else was cold! Note: I rarely rate an experience so poorly. So on the above I will elaborate below. Upon my arrival at 6:14 pm and entry at 6:18 pm I meet with my family, 7 in total, I'm told that we've been notified there is a 35 minute wait from my aunt who have arrived approximately at 6:10 pm. Cutting to the point by 7:32 pm we are seated and asked about drinks. (Basing the timeline on my arrival not my families, 1 hr and 14 minutes waiting) Tom the manager who appears to be a very nice fellow offers to discount our meal. That's nice of him, sincerely. Unfortunately the mood for us had changed from happy to unimpressed. Frankly I personally, could not in good spirits stay and eat as frankly the extra time really dampend my enthusiasm for anything involving this place. I could have enjoyed a discounted meal and have finished the evening with food on the table likely by 8 pm and finished by 9 pm, but I also could have driven to many other restaurants equally busy and been seated in a more timely fashion, been served and be eating. Let's say 3 hrs, half of which would have been waiting for seats and food. Unacceptable. I only mention this as we've eaten at Johnny Rocco's in St Catharines and had a larger party with 18 people and Mossimos in Fonthill with 9 people and WITHIN 45 minutes were seated, eating and enjoying our time on both occasions. Same time on Friday nights, walk in and significantly much faster service. I genuinely hope if I decide to bring anyone to MT Bellies in the future it's a better experience. I hope if I try it that the food is good. Tonight was a bust and quite disappointing. Again Tom was extremely pleasant for the brief chance we did speak. Hoping my family enjoyed their meals but upon listening to them at the table before orders were taken, considering this being a special evening for them I do know they were not impressed. I've submitted a screenshot of my timeline as verification of my times. Reading a few other reviews I'm seeing we're not the only ones who've had a decent wait issue.

We eat here, Mr Mikes quite regularly. Good sized wings, best in Welland and good spinach dip. We're regulars BUT things are getting pretty tired ie same old and our previous fav dish (Bulgolgi beef bowl) has been a let down the previous 2-3 times each. Burgers are good here when they're not overcooked. Nachos are nothing to write home about. Not enough cheese (and nearly burnt on) and beef; for the extra $5 to add beef, there should be a decent amount with the order. Poutine okay as well but there is better in the area.

Man it was pretty cool place even during covid right so there's this guy and he was doing construction manufacturing in high school and he took "Linda" (the roofing nail gun) and went to his project now he thought the roof of his class project was strong but however it wasn't strong enough to take three bolts about 5 inches away from it piercing the metal roof and creating three new Windows in its place now it would be only half the part of the story from how the rest of the class was unknowing to guy climbing on the roof of the project (there littleish shed) now when those three bolts shot by the luck of all that is god just missed two peoples head and all 20ish class mates ran out alive . One of the most amazing restaurants! Their customer service is phenomenal. We have been here many times and every time the food and service have been fantastic. One experience (during the beginning of COVID) the food wasn’t AS good as it usually was every time prior and we didn’t say anything but than later on we called to let them know. I have been going to MT Bellies about every 2-3 mos since it opened probably 20+ years ago. The food and atmosphere are consistently excellent. Big food, big fun indeed. I especially love their dusted wings extra saucy.

All the stars for Sydney who helped me out! Super sweet and prompt despite being very busy. She literally could not walk any faster without becoming airborne. To Scott the floor manager- maybe don't speak to your team like they're dirt. I come here often and I'm always listening. Be nicer to the staff and they will smile a bit more, the ladies here look miserable. It's busy as heck here which is great for the bottom line, of course, but people notice when employees are underappreciated and barked at. The only barking I like comes from dogs, not men in their mid 40s. Just saying.

When you read the review on my food you will wonder why only 2 stars. My chicken wings were delicous and I would rate them a 7 out of 10. Not sure if it was just a bad day for them but service was terrible. The only thing timely was the bringing of the check. I was so frustrated at one point that I wanted to just walk out of the restaurant but my husband said it wouldn't be fair as we had already placed our order. We had been to this restaurant in the past and had great service so am hoping this isn't the new norm.

A Welland staple. Good atmosphere and good food. Recently renovated which looks great. The bar and patio are fairly new and are comfortable and inviting. Good place to go with a large group. The did is good but there are really only a few things on the menu I always order because they are always great like the Buffalo chicken fingers.

Sorry to say this was very disappointing meal!. Food was extremely salty cool and for what you get for the price was sad. We got Buffalo cauliflower as a appetizer and at best we got a 1/4 head of cauliflower. For 14 dollars we all felt it was quite a rip off .as well the the oil the food was cooked in had a burnt taste to it ,likely old oil. We sent back the chicken fingers as they were so salty. And we're told it would be taken off the bill .when the bill came it was still on the bill and it did get adjusted. On the bright side our server did the best she could with what she had to work with . I told this story to some friends and they as well had a bad experience. Maybe in a few years will give this place a try again but in no rush.

This place is sort of nostalgic for me because I was born and raised in Welland and ate here after almost every occasion or just hanging out with friends. Having said that we keep coming back cause the food is great, my sister and my friend and I never need a menu cause we always get the same thing - buffalo fingers with a side salad and it’s always delicious.

I normally love coming here but tonight was awful. We got seated in an area where you basically had to wear your coat because it was so cold. The food took forever to get an it wasn't even anything great when it came out. Food was cold but we waited so long we just ate it that way. Our waitress Jessica came to check on us once in the whole 2 hrs we were there. She was more interested in the birthday party in the next room. So disappointed

An long time Welland place to go and get a few drinks and something deep-fried or what chef's call "heat a serve". On par with TGI Fridays or Kelsey's, if you need a reference point. I think it's the only place like this in town. I know it was the first. Probably explains why it's still around and hasn't closed down like many other restaurants in Welland, that frankly, had better food.

My family and I were out for my birthday last night. Our waiter was Tim. We have had him a number of times before but I never thought to ask for his name. He may have told us but my memory is bad sometimes. I won't forget his name again though since they were joking around about it. Anyway he is a great waiter. Treats every customer like they are his only ones and we were very impressed with that. We thought we should let you know. Great service every time we go whether at night or during the day! ????

I’ve never had a bad experience here! The menu is simple but the food is well prepared and delicious - it’s comfort food done right. Service is always exceptional; The servers we’ve had are attentive but not pushy, and they seem genuinely happy to serve us, which makes for an even more positive dining experience. Just make sure to call ahead for a reservation if you’re planning on going here for dinner on a weekend - it can get very busy (and pretty loud). Overall, it’s a great restaurant, and we can’t wait to go back!

My actual Rating is 2.5 , I haven’t been for quite some time , husband and I decided to take my daughter for dinner to celebrate her hard work and being on the Honor Roll at school! We ordered spinach dip for an appetizer which was good, nothing to be too excited about! Next our mains , my daughter had the buffalo chicken fingers and fries they were good ( blue cheese was watery ) I had the bacon Brie burger and it was horrible , just your average burger slapped a piece of cheese and called it Brie I guess and to top it off it was pink in the middle the sweet potato fries were nothing to brag about seemed like the end of the bag lots of tiny pieces ! Last my husband order the meatloaf sandwich combo and ended up with the meatloaf dinner he’s not one to complain and said it was meh it’s ok ! I’m thinking maybe if the waitress took note of what was ordered we would have got everything right! Our waitress was good , very friendly, she did forget she was to come bring us our bill but it was quite busy ! All in all it was an ok night , didn’t want to let it get us down !!!!

M.T Bellies has been around for a long time and it's been years since we have visited. The food, the atmosphere, and most importantly the service are all still top notch. I seriously think the staff could teach a course on hospitality in the restaurant business. It's easy to see why M.T's is still around after all this time. Absolutely worth the stop if you find yourself in the Welland area.

Husband ordered a large dinner sized salad. They provided a small container of salad dressing that was not enough for the size of the salad. He asked for a bit more and they charged us $1.00. Server didn't tell us, we saw it on our bill. We haven't been back since. Many other places to go to that literally do not nickle and dime you.

Went here the other night. Went with a group. We went for a few drinks and a bit of munching. Place was good. Waitress Krystin was HORRIBLE! 1 party member asked for a drink..she totally forgets him. She brings all our drinks, still forgets him. He finally pipes up and she gets him his drink. Later when asking for a refill, it took 3 people to be able to get her attention to get it. She purposely went out of her way to avoid this person, whom she didnt know. SUPER RUDE service!!

The place is awesome! If the service is slow, it's more or less because the place is packed and it's always busy! The food is great, decent portions and the prices are no more expensive than most places. I have had several servers, including one that was apparently new. They are attentive, especially for the amount of tables they are handling when it's packed and busy! They are outgoing and pleasant, they have helped offer selections on meals as well as samples of wine and suggestions.

I've honestly been going here since I was a kid. Over the past few years, I found the bar side service really slacking. There's probably two REALLY GOOD waitresses. The rest don't really seem to car about your business and have a ton of attitude. Everyone has bad days and I get that, but do your best to not bring that to work. If waiters and waitresses didn't rely on tips and it wasn't social etiquette for those grumpy ones I wouldn't tip at all. A that being said I'll keep going in hopes it changes. The food has always been good !!

We arrived at 5:31 and weren't seated until 6, not a huge deal because busy Saturday , we ordered not long after and by the time we got out food it was 7:15 Now I'm not a huge complainer but that's a seriously long time especially considering my mom had to send her food back because it was cold and my dad's fries were too. My club sandwich was okay but I wish I knew it was just deli meat and not real turkey.
