One of Welland's better restaurants! The pizza, which is amazing, is cooked in a wood-fired oven. You can tell by the way the owner prepares the dishes that he really cares about what he's serving to his customers. If you're going on a Friday or a weekend, make sure you make reservations otherwise there's a good chance you won't be eating there! I learned this the hard way lol

First time trying them out and the pizza was great. The crust was thin and cooked perfectly and there was a good amount of toppings and cheese. We would try another pizza for sure and probably a few other thing they have. I would recommend if your looking for some wood fire pizza.

During lockdown, I ordered take out from Matteo's and picked it up inside the restaurant. NO ONE inside were wearing masks! There were 6 people: The owner Matt, 2 cooks, 1 waitress who got my order ready, plus 2 of Matt's friends sitting by the front door drinking martinis! I will NEVER support this business again; they can't follow rules and puts my health at risk. What other health regulations are they ignoring?

I enjoyed my lunch when I came here. The food was amazing, but the portion sizes are small. All prices were very reasonable considering the atmosphere. I would likely return to this restaurant if business takes me in this direction again. Service at the time I dined here was very inattentive. I had to ask multiple staff for service throughout my meal which made me feel like my needs and my time was not important. If the food was not as good as it was when I ate here, my rating would be much lower

My husband ordered dinner from here for my birthday last week, as I had seen the lobster ravioli on the menu a long while back and couldn’t stop thinking about it. It was soooo goooood. Thin, beautiful homemade pasta, packed full of filling with chunks of lobster throughout the sauce. The sauce was so buttery and delicious. My husband got the beef bolognese and it was equally delicious! The tomato sauce was spot on and flavourful. After such a good experience, we decided to try their breakfast this morning! We were not disappointed! I got the hash browns with eggs and pancetta- the hash brown is like a giant crispy latke, and the eggs and pancetta were the perfect match for it. My husband got pancakes and they were so fluffy. Plus, really whipped cream with it!! The coffee was also good, not to mention the croissants ????????????. Lastly, we wanted to give a shout out to the owner who is also so nice and accommodating.My husband came home with the food both times really impressed with them all, and with the food. 10/10 would recommend!

This place was spectacular! The owner was there and greeted us, and was so kind to thank us for coming on our way out. For average looking city folk like myself and my partner that really stood out, shows he cares about his customers and makes us want to come back! dinner here is fantastic. all homemade, incredible service, and the quality of food they produce is top notch within the region of niagara. Now, with the recent introduction of BREAKFAST! my wife and I rushed to try it and we can safely say that there were no shortcuts in the production of this fabulous breakfast. fluffy homemade pancakes complete with homemade whipped cream! the hashbrowns my wife had were potato pancake form and i couldn't have been happier with them. even the pastries an coffee are homemade with love. will definitely be back.

I've been many times, definitely my favorite restaurant in Welland by far! Food is absolutely delicious and freshly prepared. The owner, Matt, is very friendly and hospitable! Foods was fantastic. Service has a small hiccup as they seemed to forget to order a couple of appetizers and had our mains ready first. However, they were very apologetic and took care of us appropriately. We will definitely be back.

Went there with my 6 year old daughter. There is no kids menu so she also got lunch lol. They gave us some bread and beans to start. Then we had the antipasto plate which had some sliced parm, fresh mozz, salami, prosciutto, peperettes, pickled veg and honey. Great start. Daughter loved her FRESH pasta (Pasta Bolognese). Pizza out of the wood fired oven was excellent. Sat out on the patio. Service was spot on. We will definitely be going back. Need to try the lobster ravioli!

We have been going to Matteo's since it opened. Matt, and his Staff continue to deliver incredible food, time, and time again. Matt's passion and focus is second to none. Everything from Pizza's, Pasta's, Italian dishes, Daily Specials, Special Events, FANTASTIC!!! Matteo's, truly is a tremendous addition to the Niagara Region Restaurants, and quite frankly, in my opinion is One of The Best!! Hands Down!!!!!

The staff and atmosphere are very welcoming. The wine selection complements the menu perfectly and the food, the food was to die for! Freshly made and hot off the pan. Indoor seating was all reserved, were given the option of outdoor seating with heater lamps, made for a great atmosphere. As out-of-towners we were made to feel quite welcome and felt as though our satisfaction with our meals meant a lot to the staff. Matt (owner) ensured that we had a fantastic experience and even had to make a last minute trip across the road to make a Caesar despite me being willing to order a different drink! Food was 10/10 very clearly made to order, carbonara was creamy and delicious. Meanwhile my seafood dish was also fantastic. Recommended starter of baked stuffed prosciutto Was definitely a must have. Both service and food make this restaurant stand out. Can’t wait to eat here again and try some of the other wonderful sounding dishes. Very happy with our experience at this restaurant.

I finally decided to give them a try, the salads are a disappointment but everything was amazing. The pizza was absolutely mouth watering. Not very happy with the service. The female owner was very nice and pleasant and very consistent in checking in on the meal. The "gentleman" (believed to be her husband) was very ignorant. When walking in, the sign clearly states to "Wait to be seated". Myself and my boyfriend (by the way were dressed respectable) waited, he then looked at us and walked over asking what we wanted.. We had to tell him table for two. If you're going to own a restaurant you need to have some level of social skills. We felt he was arrogant. Above all food was good, just did not appreciate the service from the male owner.

Last night was the first time we experienced Matteo's in Welland. I highly recommend this place as the food was outstanding. We had Linguine pescatore and the quantity of of seafood was more than plentiful and cooked perfectly. I know from the chef that he makes his own sauce which was flavorful and had a great texture with just a bit of heat to it. Perfect for our tastes. And the Linguini itself was great. I do not know if he makes it fresh but it tasted fresh. The apps (salads and shrimp were very good) and the service was friendly and attentive. We will definitely go back and we must try the pizza too as every pizza that went by looked and smelled great. Nice to know that Welland has such a fine Italian restaurant, ie: high quality.

WARNING I went to pick up take out on the weekend. Place was full. No social distancing inside, tables are not spaced out for a small place. The owner is going from table to table chatting without a mask while drinking a glass of wine. Rules and regulations do not seem to apply for this establishment. Eat here with caution. Too bad the food is very good.
