Not a great place for vegetarians/vegans. Not a lot of vegetarian options and the one thing I could eat was gross. I had a bad experience where I purposely asked for no chicken in my Pad Thai and the waitress offered to add more shrimp. Guess what? She still brought me lumps of chicken skin (yes, the grease that people usually throw away were mixed all inside my lovely nut-free noodles). Nut-free being not a good thing since Pad Thai is supposed to have peanuts. So overall 2 main ingredients were missing from my meal and 1 unwanted one was added. Fast service though, probably a reason why the food order was all wrong.

Decided to order here for new years because there were lots of choices., but the items we picked because we usually like them were meh at best. We had asked for spring rolls and received a second order or chicken balls which is not what I wanted. I called back and they offered me a credit for my next visit but that doesn't help for tonight. Spring rolls were one of the only things my hubby would eat from our order. Now he goes without.

I've been going here since I was a kid. Still some of the best fast made fried rice out there. The chicken balls seem bready till you've eaten elsewhere. I just moved back after 10 years abroad and Trust me when I say Chinese food this consistently good is hard to find.

The prices are worth the price and amount of food you get. The staff is always nice. My family also loves this place and their food. After being told that our food would be delivered in 30 minutes, we received it after 2 hours. We had to call the restaurant 4 times before it got to the door. Prior to ordering food, we had confirmed that we could pay with credit/debit, yet when the guy got to the door he said we could only pay with cash, leaving us scrabbling to scrape up change. Usually we are very understanding about orders taking a while or small mistakes, but the employees we dealt with over the phone had poor customer service and didn't help us resolve the problems at all. Very frustrated.

I tried to place an order and the language barrier was just too much, she couldn't understand me, and I couldn't understand her at all! Which resulted in my order being wrong. The delivery driver showed up with double my order and missing my soda, in which case she was told to return instead of giving me my order and charging me as such, I said I'd do without the soda. Upon return a half hour later with part of the order correct, as I got a single can of pop and I was assuming it was going to be a bottle or at least two since it was a dinner for two I ordered.. And to top it all off which upset me THE Most is that I ended up paying $5.50 more then I usually pay for the exact same thing! My order is usually $23.85 and this time it was I was charged $31.10..I should have been charge $25.60..because the only thing diff was the $1. 75 (seriously!! ) for the soda!! SO BUYER BEWARE!! Make sure THEY don't make any mistakes because YOU will end up paying for it!!! Personally, I'll be giving my business to someone else, not that I'm sure they care lol :)

I love this place! Hands down the best Chinese food I've had in welland. Its my go to place now. New years eve 2020 was hectic extremely long wait times 2+ hrs but it was worth the wait. Will definitely continue going here.

The food was very tasty but at a time when everyone is cleaning extra and beyond to avoid covid-19...this restaurant looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a year. Windows and floors filthy. Bench seating inside covered in red duck tape, floors need repairs. When things do open up to eat-in, I would not be eating here.

Great food at affordable prices. Wide range of food options and combination plates to choose from. Always friendly staff, great service and quick too. From ordering to eating in 15 minutes or less. Definitely reccomend stopping in for lunch/dinner, plenty of seating within the restaurant to accommodate both small or large dinner parties. So why not take a break from cooking/cleaning at home, and take your family out for dinner at Bamboo? Or if you prefer, you can choose to order out and take it home. Delivery is also available within Welland city limits. Don't forget to ask for chopsticks if you want them with your takeout order. Not many people know how to use them so they were going to waste (customers told them not to send them anymore because they were just throwing them out :/ ) but if you make sure to ask for them, they will send as many pairs as you need (usually one per combo plate/serving).

For the amount of money I spent they don't fill containers it was not good at all. Also if I already order a large chicken ball and my order was over a certain amount which qualified for a free chicken ball why would u offer something else they all went to waste cause they were gross not fresh!

Terrible organization for New Years Eve. I ordered the day prior for a 5pm pick up on NYE. Arrived at 5pm to a crowd of people waiting outside with the staff shouting out order numbers out the door when ready. After not hearing our order number 25 min later, I went in to directly ask the staff and was told it wasn’t ready yet. Giving them the benefit of the doubt due to a busy night, I went back outside to wait. After another 25 min of waiting I went inside to ask again after still not having our order number called out. It was 50min past our order pick up time and our order still hadn’t been started. I was so disappointed to learn from the man next to me that he had called to make an order at 5:05pm that evening, was told it would be 30 min, and his order was ready at that time and he left with his food…yet id been waiting 50mins for an order I made yesterday which wasn’t even started. I left without my food. Clearly this restaurant does not know how to run a business.

On New Year's eve for 2020, we ended up having to stand outside for 2 hours. We were told to get our food for 8 30pm when we called at 4:30pm, and we didn't get our food until nearly 11pm. The quality has gone down a lot - they told my gf that they can't call everyone, but are okay with a dozen people standing in the cold for 2 hours waiting for food to feed their families. I get times or tough - we take a risk getting food from a restaurant, the cook could have Covid. We also take our hard earned money in the midst of a pandemic to them, and instead of calling the individuals or be like wait in the car, we'll have someone bring it to you.

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid in Welland. The food is good. Yeah it’s old but that makes a place. That makes it what it is. The history becomes more important than a bunch of bad reviews from people that don’t appreciate what they don’t know. These people have worked hard for longer then I’ve been alive. Don’t update it, keep it the same for another 40 years. I’m looking forward to coming back.

Although more than 2 hours after the order was to be ready, I give them 5 stars. With the mountain, literally, of food to be made the staff did their best. The food was fresh, hot and tasty when I did return home. Being New Year' s Eve it was expected to be beyond busy. Many customers were unimpressed and some were rude but all in all, given the circumstances I will return. The only suggestion to the ownership is to try to expedite things a bit differently and not overwhelm the kitchen by taking too many same time orders. Preorders should be second only to the deliveries and then walk-ins. Beyond that, well done.

The place needs to be spruced up a little. It looks like the decor hasn't changed since the '70s. The food tasted ok however they drowned everything in sauce. The food tasted good enough on it's own and didn't need to be drowned in sauce.

This place has been here since I was a kid, so decades, that being said I believe they are using same plates and cups here, scratched, broken, place looks like a crack den at this point. Ordered chicken balls and they were PINK inside! Place is not clean neither, avoid like plague!

Last time I ordered from here was over three years ago. Ordered a combination plate and was disapointed there was no vegetables or egg in chicken the fried rice. All there was was a few tiny pieces of chicken and the chicken balls were microwaved. So tough I could hardly cut through them. Never again.

Just ordered takeout for delivery and when the ordered arrived we were missing our shrimp. No big deal, we’ll make a phone call and get it straightened out. Wrong!! After spending 5 minutes of telling them “no shrimp” and counting our boxes repeatedly they finally offered us a box of shrimp but we must come and get it. Ummm, no, we ordered takeout for a reason. So then we told them to just credit it back to our credit card to which they replied “no, we gave you shrimp”. We have no reason to lie about not getting our shrimp and we definitely did not receive the shrimp. They kept refusing so we told them from now on our business will go elsewhere. Bamboo, your customer service is atrocious and I cannot believe you are still in business. 5 years ago when we moved here you were the first place we went to and the food was pretty good but unfortunately now along with your customer service skills your food has also declined. The wings are gross, the egg rolls mushy, the chicken balls doughy, your food all around sucked! I don’t know if this establishment is under new owners now but I do know we will never be back. Truly the worst customer service ever!

Good food but waited way to long, very disorganized system people lined up outside like cattle. 2hr wait when suggested get food before 4pm,recieved after 6,while waiting outside we learned they called the house while we freezing outside, then called again at 730 to ask if we were picking up our order. Suggestion have people wait in vehicle and call cell when food is ready, works at other businesses.

Friend told us to try this place. We are no longer friends. Food was below average. Soup wonton meat was very cheap tasting. The rice was plain and the chicken balls were small. The sause wasn't even a typical sweet and sour sauce. The only positive was the fortune cookie. It read " don't eat at bamboo".

This restaurant is horrible. The customer service is horrendous. The first time I went, we couldn't order alcohol because the waitress was too young to serve it. When I ordered sweet and sour pork they brought me chicken balls and tried to tell me that it was sweet and sour pork. We went again last night against our better judgement and it was even worse. The waiter took 20 mins to come and take our order even though there was no one else there. Tried to charge us $4 for beer when the menu had it listed at $3.50. then, the waiter took another 10 minutes to bring us our drinks. I had ask him 3 times before I finally has to stand up and yell at him to get us our drinks. He was too busy hanging out with his friends to wait on us. They had an 8 year old boy seating people and this kid was extremely rude to the other customers kids, to the point where the mother had to tell this kid to back off. It was a horrible experience. The food is definitely not worth the money. They are so rude and disrespectful. We won't be going here again.

What happend to you bamboo??? Used to be fantastic but I can barely choke down the food now. Beyond stale fried noodles for wonton soup. So stale that they didn't even get soft. Wontons in soup were barely edible and chicken Chow Mein was obviously far from fresh and burned. We used to come here all the time, but since the older gentleman either sold, retired or passed on, the food has been below sub par. My dog wouldn't even eat it

Ordered $60 worth of food for delivery. The delivery took almost an hour to arrive. The sweet & sour spare ribs were raw when we bit into it, the meat was discolored and it had a gross smell. The shrimp pad thai and shrimp shanghai noodles smelt like raw fish when we opened the container; when we looked at the shrimp it was also not cooked. The only thing we tried to eat was the plain fried rice, which had no flavor and hard chunks of undercooked rice. About 10 minutes after eating the rice we all felt sick. I called the restaurant to ask for a refund, I told them they could send the driver back to pick up the food and give us back our cash. They refused to rectify the situation at all. They told me my only option was to come and pick up another set of sweet and sour ribs. When I told them driving wasn't an option they refused to do anything else. I understand times are hard for small businesses but I explained multiple times that the food was raw and if we consumed it we would be sick. I asked them multiple times to find a better solution for us and they refused to do anything. After 30 minutes on the phone I gave up. Luckily I checked the meat before I fed it to my child otherwise he would have been sick. Horrible service. Uncooked MEAT. Flavorless fried rice. Made us sick. Wouldn't recommend this place at all.
