Excellent atmosphere, service, and food. I had lunch here recently and had the braised boneless short rib. Very tender and succulent. The polenta fries were crisp and delicious. Prices were reasonable for the quality of food. I'd highly recommend it and would love to go back for dinner.

We had the best time at Wildcraft celebrating our wedding anniversary. We were greeted by friendly staff right away and taken to our seats. The atmosphere felt very warm and welcoming. Our server, Jen, asked if it was a special occasion and we told her it was our anniversary. She came back with 2 glasses of champagne on the house. She was very knowledgeable about their gf and vegan menu and answered any questions we had. The food was amazing! We shared the vegan duck tacos to start, I had mushroom spaghetti and my husband had king prawn spaghetti. Both were so delicious! Our server was very attentive and checked in on us regularly. Several servers and a manager came over to wish us a happy anniversary throughout the night and then our server brought us a piece of chocolate cake that had happy anniversary written on the plate. Not only was the food amazing but the staff really did go above and beyond to make sure our night was special. We will definitely be back!

Came here for a patio in October with a group of 5 and the service was extremely friendly and on point. The service alone is enough to return but the large portions of food and care for each dish is another big reason to come back. All appetizers (tuscan kale salad, pork belly bao, and artichoke bruschetta) were delicious and had very unique flavours. The 14oz round eye steak was extremely tender and well presented. The steak sandwich dip was a massive portion and I could only finish half after the share of appetizers. I would very much recommend Wildcraft for a casual dining and drinks atmosphere with high-quality food and service. They also have a large drink selection for beers and cocktails and ample patio space with an abundance of heated areas for cooler weather.

Wildcraft was recommended to us by our Hotel. We were not disappointed. Jen, the Manager, greeted us at the door and was very friendly and accommodated our request to be seated by the fireplace. This just added to the already cozy ambiance. Our server, Claire, was an absolute delight. She was friendly, upbeat and engaging. We enjoyed ourselves so much that our Anniversary lunch turned into a 2.5 hour marathon. Cocktails were yummy, Calamari appetizer exceptional and our meal delicious!!

We recently held our wedding in the Den downstairs at the restaurant and it was just perfect! From the moment we signed on to host our special day there, the staff was very helpful , courteous and professional. On numerous occasions our contact at the restaurant was away and within an hour I would receive a response from another event coordinator offering there services while our coordinator was unavailable. I was very impressed by their punctuality and willingness to help. On the day of our wedding everything ran smoothly, the food was wonderful and the staff were fantastic! They treated us very well at Wildcraft and we have nothing but good things to say about them! If you need to host an event, look no further!

Went there last night for my friend's bachelorette party (we were the smaller group of the two bachelorette parties last night). Our server, I think her name was Daniella, was absolutely amazing! She took great care of us and was so sweet and nice. She was attentive and we never had to wonder where our server went. She surprised us and brought us all a complimentary glass of champagne to start while we were waiting for the rest of the group. My food in itself was also very good. I'm not a foodie by any means so I'm sure my wine choice didn't match my food choice or my dessert choice, but I got what I wanted and that's all that matters right? For my personal glass of wine, I picked a Peller Estate Pinot Grigio and it was nice. I'm not a huge wine drinker, but I really enjoyed this one. For my food, I picked the W burger and substituted spinach for lettuce, which I thought was really good. The burger was juicy and delicious and the fries had some kind of seasoning on them that was really good. For dessert, I got creme brule and shared with one of the other girls at the table, which is my absolute most favourite thing in the world and it was really good. I wouldn't say it was the best that I've ever had (my mom's is the best), but it was in the top 3 for sure. As for the pricing, I'm a student, so this place is very out of my price range to come here on a regular basis, but I was able to make it work and I really enjoyed it. This was my first time at Wildcraft and overall, I had a great experience, service was AMAZING, and I will gladly go back for a special occasion.

Date night July 31st, had a great experience. Thank you Cohen and Lacey! Food was delicious. We had the Saturday only menu of zucchini blossoms, perch and pavlova. Everything was delicious and looked beautiful. I'm a gluten free diner and my only disappointment was that I could not have the zucchini blossoms which I have always wanted to try. I instead had the burrata wrapped in prosciutto for my app which came with some GF thin naan type bread. I liked it so much I bought some from the restaurant. Dessert was amazing, just the right amount of sweetness for me. I really appreciate it when a restaurant makes an effort to have good GF desserts. Often times restaurants appear to give up on offering dessert for the GF diners. Thank you Wildcraft, we will definitely be back.

Wildcraft is one of my favorite places in waterloo. I go there with my friends on special occasions. The staff is fantastic and prices are reasonable. Here is what you must try: - their duck is AMAZING - that lamb chops (if still on the menu) was a great experience -burgers are fantastic - Pina colada is the best in town. Don't try the flat breads. They don't taste good.

*Ordered exclusively off the plant-based menu, dessert was vegetarian* The plant-based menu is defs done well, the nacho cheese chips taste fantastic! We also ordered the bao (wish the bun was a bit more soft and squishy). The dessert was the veg brownie and hazelnut ice cream. Overall, delicious af dinner (and filling!) The staff here is quick to bring our food, accommodating to requests and special occasions, I would come again :)

Do not make any plans to book special occasions at Wildcraft. If you have an important event and want a restaurant that is going to ensure that they follow through on a special day, this is not the place. My sister booked Valentine's Day reservations, and a table by the fire, over one month ago and received confirmation at that time. Today they called her and told her they ''now' could not guarantee a table by the fire. It took them more than four weeks to come to that conclusion? And they let her know the day before Valentine's Day when it is impossible to book any place else? So did someone offer some cash to bump their table to a more preferable one and to heck with the person who went through the proper channels? Did some 'celeb' call last minute and get preferential treatment? Save yourself the disappointment and lack of respect and consideration and go elsewhere where they are true to their word. I would never patronize a business like this, and there are many dining alternatives where you can book with confidence.

Over priced for sure. I ordered a pint of beer poorly poured...didn't get much. My friend ordered the shrimp which was okay but the wings were horrible and I think everything is over priced for what they have to offer. You guys need to work on ur menu and prices for sure.

This was our favorite place to eat for many years. The food has always been excellent. I have been vegetarian for a year now and was very unimpressed by their vegetarian options. To begin with, they had no vegetarian options on their regular menu. Not even a pasta. Rather, when I asked the waitress about vegetarian options, she gave me their vegan menu. It was almost exactly the same menu, but everything was replaced with "non-meat" meat (ie: duck/duk, chicken/chick'n). I tried a meal with only a small amount of meat (fake bacon pieces) because I don't like the fake meats and was extremely disappointed. The bacon tasted like over-fried bologne. I don't expect that kind of meal at a place like Wildcraft and for the price we were paying. In the past, I'd had a mushroom pasta dish and it was the best pasta I'd ever eaten. I wasn't even vegetarian then. Why wouldn't they offer simple options like that? If you're vegan, I suppose it's okay. I personally would rather eat vegetables and carbs over the fake meat. If that's the only solution they have for meat free meals, I won't go back. We'll have to find a new favorite ????. I will say though that their regular menu has always been fantastic, so if you're ordering off there, you likely won't be disappointed.

Came here for lunch yesterday, it was absolutely packed..very very busy. That said we were quickly seated with menus, drinks arrived very fast and our appetizer was out in what felt like less then 5 minutes. Our mains arrived about 10 min after that, good sized portions and nice presentation. The food was good. Management came by to ask how everything was which is always appreciated. The desert portion was also very large and neatly plated. All in all the staff was very friendly, the service Was quick and accurate, the dining room was clean and the food was good.

Suprisingly great food and drinks for a chain. The service and ambiance is cozy and relaxing while also providing a cool venue to enjoy bites of goodness and plenty of bar action. Their French dip is outstanding balanced with horseradish and a thick rich wine and beef stock dipping sause. Try their pulled duck tacos as well. And the bartender kniws what he is doing.

It's been re-done recently. I'd been coming here occasionally for a long time but I didn't realize the extent the renovations went. Very pleased with the new modern look, very open and clean. Not as formal as it was, but still has a similar feel to it. I found the food very good, beautiful steaks and sides. Mixed drinks are unique. I am a fan of tropical drinks so I ordered a mojito but it was prepared...differently. They have their own version of a mojito, which I did not realize so I expected the Caribbean classic. Minor details however. Will be coming back again and highly recommend for a date-night or special event. If you do some, get the cheesecake, you will NOT be disappointed.

I had not been to wildcat in years maybe even decade but went for a good friend's birthday. There was a larger group of us and we had a limited menu which was fine. My food was good....my cocktail (Brooklyn sour) was even better. Service up to that point was good....then it came time for cheques. When we ordered they took our names as we were all paying separately so that should have made it easy right.....we waited an hour and some of pur bills still weren't right or they were missed all together. Will I be back, maybe for cocktails.

Went here with my girlfriend last night without reservation. Had the option to wait 20 mins or go to the bar with full service. We opted for the bar. The atmosphere had a contemporary, rustic feel. The lights were dim, and the colours were browns, greys and dark reds. The soundtrack was very well put together and was a nice refresher, compared to the usual, loud, pop music you'll find at many other restaurants. We started with a Caesar salad to share. It came on two separate plates, each with half of a boiled egg. Pretty standard. This is where the service became a little lacklustre. I had hoped to eat my salad while my main would be prepared. I ended up having to ask to order our mains when a server passed through the bar. Anyway, we both ordered the burger. It came topped with lettuce, tomatoes, bacon and a nice garlic aoli. We were both impressed with the burger. It was juicy and tied together just right. The side of steak fries stood out on their own, crunchy and well seasoned. Again, trying to get the bill took longer than it should have. I unfortunately had to ask twice. Overall, it was a good experience. Food was great, atmosphere was great, but the service was just okay. I will definitely return and next time I'll make a reservation for a table to see if it goes better.

Won't be back. We had a family get-together brunch and while the wait staff was stellar, the food was very sub-par. We don't mind paying high prices for good food, but Wildcraft missed the mark by a wide margin. I started off with sausage cabbage soup. It had one very tiny piece of sausage in the bottom of the bowl. The rest was cabbage. Others at the table had no better luck when it came to sausage pieces in their soup. They might have well just labelled it 'cabbage (and ONLY cabbage) soup'. I had a veal schnitzel on a pretzel bun. The schnitzel was way over-fried to the point of being tough like cardboard. The bun certainly wasn't fresh, so the combination of a tough dried out piece of meat on a very dry bun made it extremely difficult to bite through and chew, never mind swallowing. My sister had the same dish and had the same experience. Two in our party had the Beesting cake for dessert and both proclaimed it to be absolutely flavourless and bland. Overall the atmosphere and staff were great. The food was terrible, especially appallling, considering the price. None of us would go back.

If you have a food sensitivity or allergy (dairy or gluten), the accommodating menu is extensive and the wait staff are extremely kind and sensitive to those needs. Our large group felt very well looked after, the food was wonderful, and those with allergies were very pleased! Highly recommend!

Went there to celebrate our first anniversary, and were treated very well. At other high-end restaurants we've had poor experiences when it became clear that we weren't going to be exploring the more pricy menu options, but the staff here still made us feel like a priority. The food was excellent, and the patio environment was enjoyable. The kind of experience where you don't feel bad about splurging a little. We'll definitely be back.

If you’re veg/vegan/dairy free, ask for the plant based menu. Food was so delicious and martinis made well (for such a classic drink it’s annoying how many places can’t make a decent one). Really appreciated the honest recommendations from our server. Can’t wait to return. I only removed one star because we did have to wait quite a while for a few things (Eg were served a starter but no cutlery and had to ask twice for it) (also had to ask twice for one of our drinks) (also the table became very cluttered and we had to ask for it to be cleared before entrees). However, I understand that there is a staffing shortage in the resto industry and that’s likely the cause of the issues we had (everyone was very busy and flat out the whole time, I think they were just short staffed). So I would only encourage this restaurant to make sure they’re paying well and holding on to the lovely staff they currently have. Word of mouth will spread and I’m sure they’ll have a great reputation as a place to work. I’ll definitely come here again :)

Short story is this is an amazing restaurant. I had been a long time ago, before they renovated, and it was a decent place, but the experience I had this past weekend was fabulous. The food was top notch: we had the Roasted Baby Beet Salad, the Indo Chicken Curry Bowl, and the Roasted Atlantic Salmon, and for dessert, we had the cheesecake as well as a butter tart cheesecake that was part of a special eat local menu for the weekend. The decor was also excellent; modern and open. The service was fast and very professional. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful restaurant, I really enjoyed the ambiance. Unfortunately the service was quite poor and the food was not what I expected. I ordered the shrimp and prawn linguine, there were only three small scallops and two shrimps. Also, this part would be my error, I didn't realize the pasta itself would be dyed black. It was quite off-putting and lacked flavor. When the server put the pasta down she noticed I was unsure and offered that if I didn't like I could try something else. The problem was, she didn't come back for another 10-15 minutes so I had to sit and patiently wait while my husband ate his supper. She also did not offer to refill our drinks so my husband had ice cubes with his steak. When she did finally come back she was apologetic but it was too little too late. Very nice resturant, they have a gluten-free specific menu. Covid precautions are on point. The servers are super friend, helpful, and attentive. Good selection of food, drinks and dessert, also has a big patio. The dessert I had was Earl grey infused and I found that to be a little bit subpar in terms of flavour, but a good crem brule otherwise.

We went here for date night on the strong recommendation of a few friends. We were disappointed and probably won't be back. Understanding that it's easy to hide behind a negative review, I want to try and be as clear as possible as to why we were dissatisfied. We were seated promptly but had to wait a few minutes for someone to acknowledge our presence and then a further delay to come around to give us some water. Our alcoholic drinks took ~10 minutes to arrive at the table. We waited just under 50 minutes for our entrées to arrive after ordering with zero interaction from staff as to why it was taking so long. When they did arrive they were pretty underwhelming for the price. Not that it matters too much, but they left tomatoes on my burger after requesting they be left off. Several groups of people who came in and ordered after us received their food before we did. In fact, one couple who were seated just in front of us were able to eat and leave for their show in St Jacobs before our meals had even arrived. Once our food arrived there was again, no explanation or acknowledgement as to why there was such a delay. The restaurant was fairly quiet too! I'm sure the restaurant management will post something about this being an exception, and how they want to learn more so that they can do better next time. Good on them for reaching out to unsatisfied customers, but how about nailing it the first time?

Came here about two nights ago. Such a beautiful place with amazing service. However… the only downside is the sashimi bowl I ordered had undercooked rice that felt grainy throughout.???? I wish the chef would have tasted a good sized portion before sending it out. I appreciate them searing the sashimi to give it that different texture on top but I felt as if it was seared too long, unfortunately spreading the temperature throughout & cooking the rest of the fish, leaving that nice raw soft texture sashimi requires to be missing… (even though it appeared raw enough before tasting.) On the other hand the steak ???? was so juicy! and so flavourful and definitely mouthwatering. The potatoes were so creamy and fluffy and I loved the extra toppings they offer on the side to just top it off right. Overall though, such a cute place and a great night made especially with the phenomenal service from our waiter specifically, definitely worthy of the 30% tip.

We ordered short rib and were then told it was sold out and then ordered the braised beef and were also told it was sold out, the limited selection was a little frustrating. A few members of my family got the beef sandwich and the gravy was served cold and we needed to get it re-heated, the mashed potatoes and greens with the steak had also gotten a little cold which was unfortunate. Been to this location a couple times now. Every time, the servers provide excellent service and great recommendations. The monthly featured cocktails are creative and quite tasty. Wow. Amazing place! Worth driving into Waterloo if you're driving down the 401. Fabulous atmosphere, friendly staff, clean, an incredible selection, and possibly some of the best food we have ever had. For us gluten-free folks, they have an e-menu just for us (vegetarian menu too), so that you can just look through the things you can eat. And I mean a WHOLE menu, with lots of selection and variety. Appetizers, soups, entrees, desserts are all available, and oh so good. Oh, the garlic mashed potatoes were perfection, the filet mignon cut like butter, the mushroom pasta was so tasty, the lb burgers were so flavourful. I highly recommend the Mojito Pot De Creme for dessert. Amazing! Special shout out to our fabulous waitress, Kaitlyn, who was just so friendly, helpful and accommodating. We were only in town for the weekend, but after Friday night's Amazing dinner, we booked for Saturday too. This time, we could not sit in Kaitlyn's section since she had a party to serve, but Lexi took great care of us. Kaitlyn even made a point of dropping by our table to say hi. I have no idea what the rest of K/W has to offer, but we will probably be going back at least once a year just for this restaurant.

My husband and I were in the Waterloo area and didn't feel like coming home to cook supper. We googled restaurants and decided on Wildcraft. What an amazing choice! Carly, our waitress, is born to be in this industry! She made some awesome recommendations for us to try, and we were not disappointed. She took into consideration that I can not eat dairy, and made sure that the chef was aware of this. Carly has a wonderful personality and we hope, when we go again, that she will be our server! We were thinking about having a wine pairing, so she summoned up the sommelier who definitely knows his wines and what paired with the variety of food we were trying. Thanks. Carly, the manager on duty, was so on point with my food allergies. There was one item we ordered that she made sure we knew that it, unfortunately, did have dairy in it. Thank you. All staff who served us in one way or another, made us feel as if we were important....like they wanted to make sure we had a good experience....and we did! We will definitely be going back, and we do not hesitate at all to recommend this restaurant.

From the friendly staff (Nikki, Troy, Rachel, etc.) to the awesome chef who makes that GREAT steak and truffle mash potatoes, thank you all! The food is delicious, the setting (ambiance, fireplace, decor) is EXQUISITE and the staff leave you with a lasting impression! ;) Beautiful place! Having come over from Toronto, not to sound snobby but just speaking my truth, it felt like a lot of our places left something to be desired.... be it in terms of poshness or staff or food itself! It pains me to write this 2-star review because the food is good. What's not great, what's terrible, is the service. We've waited upwards of 40 minutes to get our food. When we asked the waiter, Marissa, she had a superbly unsatisfactory answer. She was just literally buying time. Adding all the modifiers she could muster, shortly, soon, coming right up without really telling us why our food has taken this long to get to the table. And when it DID, the terrible service continued. My friend ordered a spaghettini, so the waiter offered parmesan (which she didn't have on hand). My friend said yes, wanting parmesan cheese. The waiter then looked around all the tables before heading to the kitchen, coming back and asking us how things are going and totally ignoring that we just asked her for parmesan cheese. Had an incredible meal last night at Wildcraft, and we were so excited to experience the changes since the renovations. Everything was perfect. We were kindly greeted at the door, quickly seated, and our server, Troy, was exceptional. He went over and above with every detail of our meal and visit. I was delighted when he asked about any dietary needs, and then offered a new full vegan menu!! (Also a GF menu for those interested). The portion sizes are generous. Troy was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about everything at Wildcraft, and we really appreciated how the entire staff seem to enjoy what they do. Was a date night for my boyfriend and I. We got to the front of house and it was extremely empty and no hostess met us at the front. We stood there for a couple of minutes before a server finally came over and showed us to a table. The slow service continued. It seemed in the time leading up to our food reaching the table, our server was very attentive. After that though, we almost never saw her. The food was very under seasoned. I have the Chicken and Ricotta flatbread. The chicken was not seasoned AT all. The tomatoes were bland. I ended up salting my own my meal just to try and find some flavour. My boyfriend had the Ahi Tuna bowl and again complained of a lack of seasoning. Overall the food was extremely bland, service was slow. My boyfriend actually had to get up and try to find a server so that we could get the cheque. All of this with maybe 4 other tables occupied on our side of the restaurant. For $70, I could have a much better meal with a better atmosphere at Montanas or East Sides. Definitely won't return. Update: We went back and had great steaks. Service was much better the second time. Have updated my review.

Best meal I’ve had in a long time! I hadn’t been to Wildcraft in a couple of years until last night. I always enjoyed it it but frequented the other charcoal restaurants more often. The bar area now encourages longer stays with flat screen tv’s and more tables. You could now consider that bar a place to ‘hang out.’ The restaurant redesigned their booths so it looks less like the Keg and more current and hip. Dare I say contemporary-hipster-ish? We started with the duck tacos. I wish I could have them as an entree. Incredible flavours that I wanted more of. My husband ordered the entree size bao’s and I ordered the 10oz steak. We shared everything together. Everything was so very flavourful. I didn’t want to stop eating. Even the French fries were quite visibly fresh cut potatoes and cooked deliciously. For dessert I ordered the phyllo wrapped cheesecake. A carry-over from their old menu but a must try for everyone. Lauren our server was great! The manager helped us sign up for the bite club (as I know I will be coming back more often!) Can’t say enough with how pleased we were. Thank you, Wildcraft!

Food is very good and they have large entrée portion sizes. Ask the waitstaff about which appetizers are best for sharing ahead of offering as some are rather small. The waitstaff is very knowledgeable about the menu and are very personable. HUGE wine selection. Wine is a little pricey as is expected at that sort of place. Atmosphere is cozy and the music selection is pretty eclectic.

Saved up to go here for my annual birthday steak dinner. Sadly I was underwhelmed. I had the famous duck tacos for an appetizer. NOthing on them was bad, the duck was good and there was good texture with the peanuts and the shell of the taco but when I get an appetizer like this I want the flavour to punch me in the face, and I didn't feel like this really did that. I didn't get any of the promise orange flavour despite squeesing the orange slices over the meat and I found I wanted both more sweet and spicy. For a main I ordered the 14oz Ribeye Medium. The steak was done very well, it had excellent char and was cooked to order. The sides let me down though. The carrots had been roasted to bring out the flavour but were still very crunchy. The mashed potatoes had an unexpected flavour that wasn't bad, but kept my brain confused wondering what I was tasting. The shallot butter didn't really melt, and didn't add anything to the portion of the steak it sat on. I also ordered a side of mushrooms that tasted so powerfully of white wine that I could barely taste the mushrooms themselves. Nothing I had was bad per se...even the carrots tasted good despite being underdone...but when I am dropping $100 for one person for dinner I expect it to be amazing. Instead I could have probably just gone to the Keg and paid less for as good of a steak.

i don't usually write reviews, but the experience we had at Wildcraft last night was extordinary, The night started wth the waitress spilling our drinks over the table and partly on my wifes pants.. Then with in a matter of seconds there was an army of staff to help clean-up, re-set the table and assist my wife in cleaning her clothes. The waitress recovered from the accident, and continued to serve us though the evening with grace and poise, the appetizers were amazing as well as the food... What could have been a soggy accident was turned into an extrodinary experince... Thanks to our waitress and staff who all pitched in.. 2nd time visiting the restaurant and definitely needs some help. We went on a Saturday night and there were only 4 tables occupied the whole night, with that being said it took awhile to get our main course among other things and we were there until 9:30. Food was excellent once sorted out. My steak was served rare without the mushrooms and was sent back, new plate was excellent but still forgot the mushrooms which was brought out separate. By this time spouse had finished his meal. Never was offered any compensation or apology. Another note was that the womens washroom was a disaster with only 2 stalls not plugged. It did look like there was a wedding taking place in the private room that probably was there main priority.

Yet another amazing experience at Wildcraft Grill + Long Bar! Wildcraft has been our "go to" ever since we moved into the Lexington/Dearborn neighborhood over 12 years ago! On warm summer evenings, Wildcraft is our fav patio. And pretty much any other time, we love the Wildcraft Long Bar. We always look forward to New Year's Eve at the Long Bar! This past Friday we enjoyed drinks and dinner with our neighbors at one of the Long Bar booths. We had a lovely evening! Katryna (Kat) took excellent care of us. She was fun, efficient and very engaging. Our drinks, appies and mains...as always top notch! And our favorite wine...GB 51 never disappoints. I went on Saturday for a relaxed, late lunch with a friend and to try out the new vegan menu. We had such fantastic, solicitous service and delicious meal. My friend tried the new mushroom soup and declared it to be the best ever. She also had the chicken salad (not vegan) and thought it was a bit plain; she would have liked more dressing or garnish or something (it was a creamy diced chicken salad on topping a whole 1/2 head of lettuce with tomato and avocado. I had the VW vegan burger and it was delicious - the bakon and cheeze were fantastic as was the Thousand Island dressing and the bun was perfect. My only comment was that the patty itself needed to be baked or crisped up a bit more. It's made with black beans, which are creamy, and they can be a bit mushy. I also tried the mushroom flat bread with mozzarella and blue cheeze. That was the THE BEST VEGAN dish I've ever had in Kitchener-Waterloo! Wow! Go go go and try this.

Atmosphere is great, and food is decent (nothing special). It's a good place to hang out and have some drinks and food with friends. The layout is nice, if you go with friends you can actually hear each other talk without too much background noise or music. A bonus is that they are now equipped with a Tesla destination charger so I can charge while I'm there (they have a non-Tesla charger available too!!). I docked a star since it's expensive for what it is.

Went to this restaurant with my wife, and sister and brother-in-law for a birthday dinner. The restaurant is very nice, with a comfy decor. The place was fairly busy but we got seated quickly. For appetizers we got the goat cheese dip which was delicious. They also brought us extra flatbread when we finished the bread and still had cheese left. For the main entree we ordered chicken grilled sandwich, pistachio chicken rigatoni, the Sichuan chicken pao and from the plant based menu, a veggie burger. The food was good however they brought a meat burger instead of the the veggie burger. They should think of changing the name of the burgers, W burger and VW burger. Perhaps that's how the server got confused. For drinks we got wild berry lemonade and a lime-lemonade. Which were VERY sour and bitter. We had to ask for sugar packets to offset the bitterness. Prices are reasonable but they need to change a few things before we think of coming back.

Couples night out. Has recently had a major renovation. Food was excellent. Had both vegatarian and meat eaters so a good cross section of food was ordered. Everything was great. Only issue I have with this place is that it is very loud due to all the hardwood and the shape of the main restaurants ceiling. We spent about 3 hours and it was very hard to hear each other earlier in the evening when it was very busy.

My biggest concern was with the after dinner shot of Tequila we ordered, it was literally water. Either the restaurant is doing this knowingly or they have a rogue bartender but our "shot" was at least 1/3 water (a VERY common bar practice).

Newly renovated with a fabulous and creative menu. Duck Tacos are a must with their house-made shells. Very tasteful, inspiring, upscale art and decor. Not what I expected from this establishment. 20 minutes to even get our cocktails. My husband asked for his soup with his meal, came with the appetizers. Had to stop our waiter to get a glass of wine. Meals were delicious however sat with empty plates in front of us for over 10 minutes. So disappointed didn’t even order dessert or coffee. Not what I expected at all, this was my 4th time at wildcraft and idk what it is but a lot has changed. I am so disappointed because this was a solo self care date and I had a really bad experience. Let’s start with my starter, I had the BISTRO SHRIMP TEMPURA - 2/5 - my shrimps came stuck together, tried to use a fork and knife and my plate became a mess. On to my main, I initially got the SEARED SEA SCALLOP + PRAWN RISOTTO - 1/5 - I can’t even explain this dish, the saltiness is all I can explain. I sent it back (they were nice about the sending back process) I replaced the risotto with ALE BRINED + ROASTED CHICKEN SUPREME - I never got to eat it at the restaurant because I got my food without cutlery ???? and had to wait a bit before finally getting someone’s attention (not really their attention because it was my server who just came to check up on me. All the other staff I tried asking acted like I was invisible) but I’ve had this before at I’d say it was 5/5 because that’s the only reason I came back. My drinks- 1st drink was amazing, so I tried getting the same thing again and boy the difference was as if it was made in an entirely different restaurant. My server and two ladies who I think are managers made this somewhat okay because they seemed like they actually cared but overall this was not it. I got cake pops at the end????????‍♀️. Don’t eat them but i did lol.

First trip to Canada. This restaurant was a recommendation when I was asking some Locals for a good place to eat. They were so right. Everyone was friendly. The food was delicious. I had the prosciutto pear + stantin flatbread. I'm not sure how but it was so good I ate the whole thing and dessert, salted chocolate raspberry torte. If i return to the area it will be somewhere I return. Recommend everyone try it out!

The best way to describe this restaurant is that it is an upscale version of a moxies/earls. They got a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Personally, I ordered the VENISON BURGER, THURSTON HOWELL steak, LUG TREAD beer, a coke, and PHYLLO BAKED WHITE CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE. I found the venison burger to be tasty. The buns were soft, the ingredients were fresh, and they gave a good amount of fries with the dish. The steak itself was a big flavorless to me however; the sides (especially the mash potatoes), were amazing. The lug tread beer is something I really recommend at this place. Their coke was really water down and had no carbonation. The cheesecake was creamy and not too sweet. The service here was top-notch. They were extremely friendly. They made great recommendations and continuously checked up on us to see how our meals were. I have to give a shout out to our server Nikki. Once I told her my coke was water down and lacked carbonation, she got me a new coke and put soda water to help with the lack of carbonation. I appreciate her effort to help deal with the carbonation issue. They got lots of TVs. The bathrooms are clean. Lots of space to entertain your guest. The ambiance here is great. This is a good spot to bring your friends or your date for a first date or for the big game. I gave this 4 stars only because the steak wasn't that great for the price they charged, and their water down coke. I recommend this place to anyone in the area.

What would you do???? My wife and i went to try out there re opening.We asked for a table in the dining room.As we were getting seated we asked to seat by the fireplace.That table is reserved i was told. Another couple was told the same a few minutes later.We ordered our drinks and by then two well looking respecting ladies got sat a table away from us.They asked for the same table and the manager promptly re sat them. That was when i realized this is not the place for me.We offered to pay for the glass of wine which the server insisted that we don't have to.I am sorry that my jeans and sweater don't fit.I do not like pretentious places.My only regret is i should have tipped the server and for that i am sorry.Thank you making my future choices easier.

We made a reservation here for Valentine's, and it was our first visit since their reno. We are frequent visitors to Charcoal, Mel's and Martini's ... so we were expecting the same sort of atmosphere and food. And we certainly weren't disappointed. The atmosphere is of a quiet sophistication, dark and subdued, romantic and cozy. Our table near the fireplace was perfectly situated, and the fabulous service was a delight. Our waitress was friendly, approachable and very knowledgeable. She helped us out with answering our menu questions, and she advised us as to which substitutions we could make. Too bad, that not all restaurants require their staff to be this personable. The food was of the same high caliber as we are accustomed to from Charcoal. The steaks were perfectly grilled, the veggies were warm yet crispy, and the amazing truffle mashed potatoes ... Yeah I'm ordering those next time again. Will Wildcraft dethrone the Charcoal as our go-to steak joint in KW? Only time and several more visits will tell, but it certainly seems to be heading in the right direction. And yes, we'll most definitely be back.

Went to Wildcraft this weekend for a date night and it did not disappoint! I am always so excited to see what they have crafted up for the season. We had some perfectly curated cocktails, delicious wine and a battle axe steak prepared to perfection. Micheal took outstanding care of us, and the Manager Justin was a delight. Was visiting to Waterloo for business and a hotel staff member recommended this place to me. Not just that, he also said that I should definitely try the Wildcraft Burger as it was one of the most popular dishes here, so when I walked in, I knew exactly what I was going to get. I walking in at about 8:25 pm, and the place was relatively busy on a Wednesday night. Noise level was average. They have a very nice bar area and some high tables for 2 around the bar. I was seated right away and got the the Wildcraft burger ($18) with lettuce wrap and was charged a dollar more for the wrap. Interestingly enough, while ordering the burger, I wasn't asked for the temperature, but when I asked I was told that their recommended temperature was medium well. Food arrived within 20 minutes and was accompanied by some delicious, fresh and crispy fries which were seasoned with a little bit of oregano. The burger itself was ok, nothing great about it. I felt it could've used some more seasoning. Service was very good and the staff was very attentive. Will definitely visit again if I am in the area to try out something from their very interesting looking plant based menu.

Went to Wildcraft for the first time since they renovated and woooow it's very pretty in there and the food was so good. Some things - The limeade I ordered since I'm doing Sober October was amazing and I 10/10 would get that again - The duo cheese dip was really great as one side was super salty and the other was a very creamy goat cheese dip. We split it between 4 people and it was actually perfect. - My friend got the salmon and loved it. - The roasted chicken Supreme may sound like the most basic thing a farm girl in her 20s could order but I assure you the chimmichurri, tarragon aÏoli, and tommy sauce brought that next level of flavor. - Fries pictured in cup were deceiving- there are actually a sh*t ton of fries and I made the mistake of not removing them from the Narnia cup until I was done my chicken, thinking there was just a wee amount. Two people could have split those bad boys for suuuure. - the artwork there was really nice too!

Artichoke and hummus dip - this was my favourite item. This restaurant is as good as you are going to get for the Kitchener/Waterloo region. It's not perfect, however, if you find fault with the steakhouse-style food here, then you are just going to find fault with everything in life. It's a higher price point, but it's not overpriced. Delicious. Almost everything I've ever had here has been amazing, with one exception of a ribeye steak I got once, which was not a great quality cut and was quite gristle-y. But another time I had a ribeye and it was amazing, so who knows what was up that one time. Highly recommend any of the pasta dishes or steaks, and the beet salad is to die for. What a lovely experience we had. From the first call, the gentleman who took our reservation was so nice and made sure to seat our party in the perfect area to celebrate my birthday. Newly renovated space is very nice but I liked the original design too. Food was delicious but orders got mixed up by the new computer system. Thankful the server and manager were straight with us and provided updates and got us some extras to make up for it.

I usually come for a glass of wine at the bar or on the patio. The bar staff are really friendly and they have a really good selection of both wine and beer to choose from. Décor is well done. I haven't had a memorable meal here though.

Excellent food and great service. Everything tasted great. We were told there wasnt room in the dining area and we had to eat at the lounge area for my daughters birthday. It was fine, but till we left two and a half hours later the dining area remained half empty. So I'm not sure why they didnt let us eat there. That's my only gripe about our dinner there. The servers were very friendly and courteous and the food was wonderful. I've been here lots of times and we have had company dinners here a few times too and always had a great experience.

Beautiful renovation and great charming server, but the food was lack luster. I ordered the Ling cod and the best part of the dish was the eggplant that had some kind of glaze or something on it, which made it incredible. The fish itself was over cooked and the cabbage had no flavor. In hindsight I should of said something, but we were out as a family after a personal loss, and the food was not a priority. Might be back for a burger, as that's what I've heard is good and reliable.

Rib eye was amazing... Something about their butter inclusion. A bit annoyed that I wasn't offered a outside table (party of 1) and then a larger group after me was told that they could get a table with some shuffling around but with the stage one rules I get it. Still giving 5 stars.

We were lucky that we got a place to sit during a walk in. It was a bright sunny day and we got a good place at the patio. The service was great and our server was very nice and gave us good advice on what to order. We ordered the Korean beef bowl , wings there famous beef burger and some nachos. The food was great and we loved all the dishes. They have some great beers too don’t shy away from trying them out ????

Excellent food but disappointing experience. We had reserved sometime ago for a family celebration. We were placed immediately beside the main patio door where guest and staff traveled. The table also sat directly beneath the patio speakers making conversation a challenge. The food was excellent but what a real let down when we had heard so much positive.

Amazing dinner for my anniversary with my husband. We were so thrilled to have a vegan fine dining experience in town - the waiter was so kind and thoughtful from start to finish , allowed us to have a mini- wine tasting before choosing our wine, and gave us champagne for our celebration. The vegan wings were amazing, as was our entree and our dessert!

Have had dinner there several times with always outstanding service and great food. Booked a private event and the service/food was just as good. They have several separate rooms for small-mid size groups that offer a lot of privacy from the normal restaurant. They were even able to handle a lot of special requests that are not within their usual menus or offerings. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking at a high end place (it is fairly pricey) for both a nice dinner or a private event.

Food was nice, i had a W Burger it was a bit peppery but prepared nice. I always order dressing on the side for salad and my salad came with dressing on it. My husband ordered a chicken Cesar salad with double chicken and received a single portion. These were quickly corrected. They have a nice selection of craft beer and a trendy atmosphere.

Such a great place to have found to end our weekend in St Jacob's/Waterloo. Decor and atmosphere was on point for a mid/upper tier style restaurant. Service was great with our server being upfront and honest on what's good and what wasn't as popular and super nice. Food was realllyyy good, with the table having cauliflower soups, mini duck tacos, grilled chicken sandwich, roast beef sandwich and maple glazed chicken wings, with everyone very satisfied. Whenever we head back up to the waterloo area we definitely plan to stop in, covid or not! Thanks for a great lunch!

Atmosphere was great, it was a little bit expensive. I wouldn't recommend the grilled chicken avocado sandwich (being the cheapest item) but their in house ketchup is REALLY GOOD.

There are two EV chargers available outside. The reception was kind and fast. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, but has a strange spray painted sign above the kitchen that doesn't really fit with the ambiance. The service was very good, friendly and attentive. The short ribs are absolutely incredible I would definitely order them again.. The tagliatelle was tasty but a bit oily and hard to finish. Bathrooms are clean and stylish. The desserts were delicious. The cost is high but it is a lovely spot for a fine dinner.

We were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. Looking ahead at the menu we were worried that it was a foodie restaurant that required a refined palate to appreciate. The menu is carefully crafted but includes options that can be enjoyed by añy diner. The service was excellent and we appreciated the private dining area was ideal for the eleven of us.

We decided to celebrate my birthday at Wildcraft this evening, and it was nothing short of amazing. We are a neurodiverse family, so we requested to be seated in a quieter area away from other guests. The manager stopped by the table to ask about the setting and if we needed any modifications to better suit our sensory needs. This is the first restaurant I've been to where such care has been offered, so I was quite surprised. My daughter asked if we were VIP, so clearly she was also surprised by the attention. The food was delicious, the service was excellent. We will definitely return again.

We had our first but definitely not our last dinner at Wildcraft last night. The Beef and Blue was by far one of the best steaks I have ever had. Dinner was amazing and service fantastic. The restaurant is beautiful and has a great feel. Can't wait to go back again as it was so difficult to choose from the very enticing menu.
