Stopped in for lunch as we are from out of town. My realtor recommended it. I was not disappointed. The atmosphere and decor was playful and whimsical. Good music in the background, not too loud. Food was great. I had a Mediterranean salad with prawns, and my wife had the cioppino with muscles. Something quick and light. Had a nice glass of wine with it. The waitress was talkative and friendly. 0 complaints.

Meh... chewy steaks, OK pasta, steak served with a piece of baguette instead of "layered potatoes" mentioned on the menu. When asked about the potatoes, waiter said they would be extra. It is seldom that a dinner steak is served with a piece of garlic bread. If this is the best in Vernon, I don't date to try the rest. You have to be desperate to call that food delicious

The wait staff were not wearing masks and it made me very uncomfortable and worried for both our health and theirs. All of the staff weren’t wearing masks and so my guess is this is something management has told them to do. They were using this “drop zone” extra table at the end, but this is an airborne infection that travels quickly inside. Please let your staff wear masks. The food was great but the worry about everyone’s health overshadowed that. (For context, someone else was taking us out to dinner, so it would have been rude to leave, but if I was on my own I would have.)

If you ever get the opportunity to - go here! We were visiting from Vancouver and this was one of the best meal and restaurant experiences we've had in years. Food was incredible, our server Adam and the rest of the staff were SO accommodating and authentically friendly, and the decor was both classy and intriguing. Would rate it even higher if I could, what a place.

Had a very nice meal. Really really enjoyed the heat of the prawn saganaki appetizer. Couple cool martinis to wash them down. The paella and firecracker shrimp linguine both fell a little flat on the flavor scale. Still a very nice meal and real close to 5 stars. Will be back to enjoy the service and atmosphere, trying some other dishes.

We were only in Vernon 2 nights and dined here for both dinners because it was so good. You could tell the mussels were fresh, and the sauces were delicious, we tried 3 of the 4 options. We also had the scallop & chorizo appy and calamari - both very delicious and cooked perfectly. For entrees we had the lobster penne - extremely flavourful sauce with chunks of lobster; the seafood paella - packed full of fresh, perfectly cooked seafood and also the bison ribeye with mushroom cream sauce.. again perfectly cooked and incredibly flavourful! Friendly wait staff, let us choose where we wanted to sit, they had a system in place to social distance - an all round great experience. Only wish this restaurant was in our home town!

I just ate at The Med for the first time in two years. Wow, it was amazing. Incredible menu - lamb, seafood, duck, double wide pork chops, etc. The food was prepared perfectly and was delicious. My new favorite place in town. See pictures.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner here tonight for my hubby’s 55th birthday. Lots of gluten-free options for him to enjoy which we always appreciate. We shared the scallop and the calamari appies. The scallop texture was fantastic but the portion was small and the chorizo on top was lacking in spice, texture and flavour. The calamari were lost in the tomato sauce and again, no spice. Hubby had the Bison Ribeye that was as good as any steak we’ve ever had so big thumbs up on that! I had the venison which while tender was a little lacking in flavour despite the blueberry coulis. Props to the scalloped potato side dish but I would have liked a steamed veggie on the side. The root veggie side dish looks a lot like yam fries and should be cut a little smaller to retain their crispy texture - a creamy garlic side sauce would really add to that as well. We loved our friendly and knowledgeable server Marta and the cool jazz music really added to the vibe. So much to like here and I wanted to give it 5 stars but there are a few flavour obstacles that need to be overcome.

Absolutely top drawer! My spouse and I, along with my mom, went for a meal on saturday August 7, 2021. These were the most perfectly cooked prawns that I think I've ever had. Perfect, absolutely perfect. I can't get there in my own kitchen. Similarly the calamari, .... Amazing. Wonderful. These were not a breaded thing, they were absolutely luxurious. We also had a chorizo that was done as a flambe at the table. We followed up with a couple of orders of mussels. To those of you reading, I'm a foodie, I'm not always eating the very best things, but I've eaten at some really great places. I'm not afraid to spend a bit extra if it's really good. This was... really... really. good. I'd be back in a heartbeat, and look forward to some exploration of the rest of their menu.

We were a group of three dined-in tonight with an appointment 15 mins ahead of time because we were just arrived the town after a long drive. The young gentleman waiter was very nice but the woman with tattoo on her legs wasn’t. The woman was our waitress. We got seated and got the manual right after we were in at 8:06, but got served (had a glass of water and made orders) like 20-30 mins after, and we got the bread and appetizer around 1 hr later. We understood that during the long weekend the tables were almost fully booked and service would not be as fast as usual. But we didn’t expect to not getting the main dish more than 30 mins after the appetizer were served. We saw the woman talking with the tables around us but not us, felt really not being respected like just being thrown at the dark corner (we were actually sitting at the corner table). I saw on google, the restaurant was close at 10 pm but until 9:30, we still didn’t see our main dishes. So I decided to talk to their manager (not sure but I saw the young gentleman staff said goodbye to him and left), he said they won’t throw us on the street. Finally we got the main dish at 10:06 right after I talked to their manager when the restaurant was almost empty. Can’t understand why it took so long to get the main dish after the starter was served. We observed the store owner (I guess he is, as he drank beer in the store with the uniform during operation hour but nobody stopped him) was staring at me for a few times and he didn’t talk anything which I felt a bit awkward when I was dining. At the end we finished our dinner at 10:36 pm which was way beyond our expectation. The foods were excellent that I can rate it with five stars (the mussels were fresh, duck wings were less juicy tho, the lamp didn’t have the unpleasant gamey taste/smell), but the service worth minus two stars. I am not sure if this is because we didn’t make an appointment earlier (but I called and the young man said there is one table can serve with us) or we are being Asian or what, this is the worst service/experience I got so far. I have been to Vancouver, Whistler, Jasper, Lake Louise, Banff, Revelstoke, Kamloops, non of the restaurant or anything provided services like this. BTW, I have been to restaurants in Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff, the staff were all wearing mask all the time but not here at the med. Maybe in AB there are by law requirements but not BC.

Awesome service! ???? our server was beyond awesome! I forgot her name (the one who lives in Salmon arm ????) .. It is a high end restaurant with nice decor. My paella was extraordinary well executed and the crab cakes were awesome. Nice selection of BC wines and cocktails. I would love to come back.

The restaurant looks fantastic. You would think the food and service would be as well. Service went from excellent to poor in a period of 30 minutes. The bartender delivered our waiting drinks from the bar. A second waiter delivered our food. Thank you. Our waiter was busing tables and was nowhere to be found during our meals. It certainly was not busy. No courtesy check after. We believe he didn't feel confident in the quality of the food because he didn't come back at all until we asked for bill. Some fresh ground pepper or even basic table pepper and garlic bread would have even been and nice added touch. But our waiter didn't show his face. The food was ok at best. Definitely not going to come back. Quite disappointing for a $110.

We took a rare night out to treat ourselves to a date night, which is rare. We choose Eclectic Med because it has been a few years since we had eaten there. The waitress was very helpful and the atmosphere was great. When we were given our table bread it came with the whipped butter packages that we had to open. We joked that for a 'high end' restaurant in Vernon, you would think they would at least have butter in a small bowl and not a package you get from the store. I ordered the duck, based on the recommendation of our server and my fiance' ordered the seafood platter. When the duck arrived, I was shocked how small it was and was underwhelmed. The seafood platter looked great, except for the rice which looked liked Uncle Bens. The duck had about 8 slices and was extremely chewy. I tried a couple more pieces to see if it got better, but it didn't. It was a while before the waitress returned...my fiance' finished her meal before I could tell her that I couldn't eat anymore because it was really chewy and rubbery. The waitress apologized (not her fault) and took the dish away. What happened next is why this restaurant deserves less than 1 star. The waitress returned after talking with the cook/owner and said that they would like to offer me a dessert and take half of my meal off the bill. I told her that I would not be paying for the duck because I could not eat it and there was no way I was going to pay $32 for something that I returned. No offer of making something else was even offered. I waited another 15 minutes before getting the bill slammed on the table. The duck was removed from the bill, but there was no apology or any offer of other food choices. If you are like us and rarely get to treat yourselves to a 'special night out' where you will spend $100 for your meal, I suggest you look at other options because everyone deserves to be treated with respect and there are far better options in Vernon to spend your $100 on a meal. I will not recommend this place to my friends, not because of the food, but because they don't care whether you enjoyed yourself or not.

I used to go there just on special occasions as it is a higher end restaurant. I have little kids so my dining experiences are more often limited to “Daddy we want spaghetti!” so it is really nice to have really nice meal in a place with a peaceful and upscale vibe. The seafood paella is my go to dish, and I occasionally branch out. Yet to be disappointed by any choice. I have been going more regularly now and enjoying some great happy hour deals.

This is surely Vernon's most fabulous place to dine! Classy to the max! The food is extraordinary! The servers are completely knowledgeable about every aspect of this amazing restaurant. Every person I've spoken to there is respectful, kind and so completely friendly, lots of laughs! The owner is very gracious and I'm more than sure he hears all the time what a wonderful place he has created! The restaurant itself is beautifully designed! I have nothing but praise for this gem! simply fantastic food, service, ambiance and overall experience. Try the scallops topped whimsically with roasted Portuguese chorizo and the calamari that explode with flavor of ingineously paired capers....what a treat, but above all else do not leave without tasting the lime and coconut curry cream soup, perhaps a bit more east of the med in origin but so incredible that it is seriously worth a return trip to Vernon itself to experience again. With Dawn providing impeccable service and Andrew doing his magic in the kitchen, this, for foodies like us, is dying and going to heaven.

Ate here for a work lunch today. We were able to pre-order, which is extremely handy when you have a time limit! The lady and gent who helped us were friendly, professional and efficient. My lemon pesto pasta with prawns was extremely delicious and the wine pairing suggested just perfect. I found the prices of their lunches quite reasonable for the quality of the food. Definitely a more fine dining experience for a mid-afternoon nosh, which was a treat for me. I look forward to eating here again!

I have been to many places that serve great food and have warm atmospheres, but one question always haunts them. Are they consistent? I personally dined at The Eclectic Med on several occasions during different times of the week. I believe I have a good understanding. Atmosphere: Rustic, warm lighting, sound reflected quietly throughout the room. You can feel the Mediterranean subtleties in the overall design. The service: Outstanding. Promptly greeted with a warm smile and beverage. Their knowledge of each dish far exceeds what is written down on the menu and passion fires in their eyes when they are given the chance to talk about the food or wine. Restaurant was very clean, as were the restrooms. And lastly, what everyone wants to know; the food. It was crafted with such delicate care and precision, presented neatly and logically. It will dance in your mouth and make you sink into your chair. Each flavour of spice was easily distinguished, and used accordingly. Portions were correct, not too small, not too much, that perfect amount making you want to come back for more. In conclusion, I have paid much more for meals that are not even comparable to the ones I have had here. I highly recommend this place for a intimate date or a small gathering. And yes, they are consistent.

I ordered the delivery of a meal for a family member recovering from surgery. The ease of online-ordering was so easy! My special requests were immediately responded to personally by James. The customer service was exceptional! The food, well, I'm a little envious of my family member that got to eat here, as they said it was delicious! Next time I am in Vernon, I will be definitely supporting this gem of a place! Thank you James and team for rocking the online delivery, can't wait to try myself!!!!

I understand that most people do not get takeout at these types of places... However I have enjoyed Eclectic Med many times for dinner and lunch. Unfortunately I made the mistake of asking for takeout today, I had to meet a client in Vernon and wasn’t feeling well so got take out instead of going in but still expected a bit more out of them. I understand things are not the same as “dine in” but was HIGHLY disappointed. I have owned my own fine dining restaurant and can’t imagine doing this to anyone else. We ordered meals with extras with our tenderloins such as lobster which was an extra $17 and more and my husbands steak looked like 3 pieces of meat that had been chewed on unfortunately... I kind of expected a bit more especially since we paid so much for the entire thing. Wanted to take a photo to show the Owner/Manager but my husband was too embarrassed. Ultimately we were very disappointed, we have always enjoyed this spot and ALWAYS tip well and this was by far the worst experience here. If you choose to dine here...go in!

The Med is a great before-concert dinner spot as well as a leisurely, classy lunch. Service is friendly and efficient, cocktails are tasty and the wine list is decent. We've enjoyed their salmon, piri piri chicken, venison, french fries, mussels, paella; all were well-prepared and tasty. The interior of the restaurant feels cozy and special. We were there last week and are going back again tonight.

Decided to try The Med for dinner.. and just everything seafood Starter was the Mussels in Beer/Dijon cream sauce and scallops/chorizo .. tasty with the warm bread to dip sauce with Shared main Seafood platter.. filling and delicious ????????

Just had dinner here and it was awesome. They were clearly getting crushed but they greeted us with smiles and made us feel welcome. Service was friendly and timely, the food and wine were great and are great value. Then this happened... our evening was interrupted by the table next to us complaining that their food was taking too long. The server handled it very well and let them know he will check on it and it won’t be much longer. When the food arrived, the woman was not happy with her fries. They weren’t the same as before. The server assured them that they were the same as before but he is happy to bring the manager over (there was no fixing this situation at this point. They were very unhappy). The manager told them that the fries have not changed but he will address this with the kitchen and they were going to taste the fries to make sure quality is right. He apologized for them feeling that things were up to par and said he will take care of their bill. (This is a short version of the interactions.) These ladies ended up not paying for any of their food.(Starters and mains.) Where. Do. These. People. Come. From. 30mins is not long for your food. Also fries!? You’re complaining about your fries? Not cause they are soggy and cold but because they “taste different”!? I don’t know if they have forgotten, but we are still in a pandemic. Aren’t we all supposed to be grateful that restaurant are able to reopen and we don’t have to do our own dishes? If your food is taking a little longer, if your fries are not perfect, if your Long Island iced tea is stronger than you like, go home and make it yourself. The restaurant staff were doing a great job, even though they got unexpectedly busy on a Thursday night. Thank you for being open. My partner and I had such a lovely dinner.

The decor is nice. That's where the positives end. The food here is not good. My wife and I ordered a nice steak and full seafood platter. The steak was cooked medium well (we asked for medium rare) and it tasted bland. The seafood platter was also bland, and it comes with rice....not rice with spices or soy sauce, just bland plain white rice. There wasn't a single bite I thought "this tastes great". Maybe our experience was just a fluke, but we won't be returning.

My friend and I went for dinner after work. Delicious, scrumptious,. We both ordered the mussels, came with fries and a savory bread. I had the duck and inquired about the vegetables, which I am not too fond of many of them, they offered a salad instead. Wonderful, fresh, with spring lettuce, pine nuts etc. we shared two desserts, chocolate cake and cheese cake. My friend had the pasta and said it was the best she had ever had. Our experience there was relaxing, not rushed, and ate slowly to savor each bite. Our server Madison, was professional,not obtrusive at all, I have raved about our dining experience to many. If you want the very best I highly recommend this restaurant.
