Stopped by on the ride home to Calgary for a quick bite. Awesome little noodle bar in Vernon, prices are pretty decent about $11-14 for a bowl. Flavours were quite tasty and not overly spicy while the Char Sui was very soft and opulent. The noodles were cooked well, not mushy, not overly firm. Most definitely will be returning next time I have the chance!

I think we caught them on a busy night. They could have been good but unfortunately, my spicy sesame ramen was missing a few items- no chicken, no kikurage and no bamboos. Just a bit of soup and noodles with green onions. Flavour was there though. My hubby’s dragon ramen was flavourful however also lacking a lot of the protein items. The octopus karaage was good but pricey for just 6 small pieces. Service was slow - like I said, busy night. The male waiter was nice though - so sweet. The other female waitress was not as friendly. The restaurant can do so much better. It’s too bad !

The broth is perfect barely any salt and still lots of flavour. (I got the vegan ramen.) A nice variety of toppings and spices. The noodles are perfect for me. I find that most ramen resturants cook the noodles and then add them to the hot broth (which continues to cook) resulting in mushy or soft noodles. They know to cook then cool the noodles, allowing the broth not to over cook them. Reading previous comments I suggest people should let their waitress or waiter know they want softer noodles. I'm impressed and happy that a ramen noodle house opened in this town. ????

Lots of gluten free and vegetarian options. The shrimp skewers are high quality. All ingredients for that matter are good. Unfortunately the flavors are a little bland. The broths are very simple with no acid, spice, or complexity.

The Tonkotsu Ramen is absolutely delicious! It's as good as what we have in Japan. Raku Ramen puts the noodles and broth in separate take out containers so the noodles are at the perfect firmness. Highly recommended!!

Food was good but service was inattentive at best when the restaurant had few other customers; forty-fifty minutes for ramen and sushi is pushing it, but 30 for a refill of water that never came is spitting in the glass. Would rate 2.5 on account of decent food but service was far too bad to warrant three stars.

Had The Supreme Ramen bowl. Taste and size were both good, except it could have been at a hotter temperature. For some reason it took close to 30 minutes for the food to arrive. I was one of 5 tables eating at the time (weekday lunch). Not sure if this was an anomaly but certainly didn’t expect solo-lunch to take 45mins start to finish.

I've been here a bunch. Spicy garlic ramen with extra chachu seems to be the dish I always come back to! The deluxe ramen is awesome too and the dragon ramen is very, very spicy for those that like :) service is always great and the food is consistently good. Best ramen joint in town!

Recently had dinner here. I ordered one of the noodle dishes with beef broth, bamboo shoots, and shrimp tempura. I found a few things wrong with this. For one, my dish and my friends dish were cold. The shrimp tempura was placed on top of the noodle soup and made it completely soggy. The bamboo shoots were very had and undercooked, but not only that, they tasted so gross. The chunks of pork in it were also very unappetizing, as they were just mostly fat chunks. Overall the soup was very swampy like. The restaurant was not clean at all, and the decore in there looks like everything was from a second hand store. I felt like I was at my grandmothers house. The utensils are in cups on the side of the table. They just looked so dirty. The chop sticks in the cups are so old looking and nawed on its gross, why can't they just use the disposal chopsticks like anyone else? Just the fact that all the utensils were out in a cup like that is cringe enough, would you like to get a flu with that ? I could only imagine how many kids and adults played around with them. The floors were dirty. No napkins. The only positive thing I could say was the staff were polite, and my beer was cold. I would not recommend you eating here.

The crowning jewel of Vernon. Ramen and gyoza this good are hard to come by even in Vancouver, where there is excellent ramen. The Indian food in Vernon is overhyped, and while some dishes in isolation were excellent, I couldn't find a single place that had good appetizers, curries, and naan in one package. The local pizza left me with a migraine. The southern BBQ is also worthwhile. But if you're only eating at one place, make it Raku.

Been here a couple of times now, and it's been great so far. Friendly and quick service, and I've gone during the weekday for lunch, so it wasn't very busy at all. Delicious ramen. Here's a picture of the miso ramen (I think that's what it's called. It's 1AM and I can't sleep!). A bit salty for my taste, but it was very tasty and excellently presented. Will try the deluxe ramen next time I'm in town.

Wasn't sure what to expect having not had real ramen before but is was amazing I love the flavours and the egg was golden and gooey. On the other hand the meat was a little cool not sure if it was ment to be that way or not and the noodles were almost the same as the ones in mr.noodles package. Dedinitly will be coming again though ????

The food was very tasty and the service was friendly. The prices are about average but the food is far above average, with a depth to the flavors. Happy hour is a good deal but the menu is not clear on how it works. In actuality, you get one plate at $3.00 for each beverage purchased, not several plates with just purchasing a beverage. Regardless, this place is a very good place to go and enjoy some very tasty Asian dishes, with a certain flavor fusion that expands beyond traditional. I will be back to enjoy more meals myself and you should as well. You cant go wrong.

This is some of the best ramen I have had in years. I've had the Dragon ramen and the spicy garlic, both extremely delicious if you do like spice.

Hit and miss so far. Had wonderful dishes there and also had to send back few. I guess the biggest problem l have is not the food but the ambiance. Place feels cold and without any design. It really wouldn't take much to make this place looking great. Think about it guys.

Awesome Ramen! Everything was exactly how I like it. The noodles were great (not too soft, more on the firm side), the egg was literally perfect! And the pork was amazing, all sitting in a very well balanced broth, not too light, not too heavy. All up it was brilliant! Well done Raku.

Tried this place today, their price point is quite similar to ones in Calgary. Their soup base and pork belly quality is pretty good. However, I agree with another reviewer that their noodle quality is something they need to improve on... their broth style is oil salty pork bone kind, perfect if you are chilled or want something hearty!

Raku has an excellent food discount when you dine in between 2-6pm. Japanese food can be expensive in Vernon so this really helps. The spicy broccoli, vegetable, and yam tempura taste great. The only omission from their menu is yakisoba. Staff is super friendly. If you need yakisoba desperately, head to Mahoroba. Mahoroba and Raku are both excellent Japanese restaurants here in Vernon. The veggie raku rolls also tasted really good too. I will definitely come back here.

They started off simple and have added to the menu a deluxe and super ramen. Tempura, and Sukiyaki beef respectively, as a north american over the top ramen combinations. The place was started by a japanese woman and chinese man combining the glory of ramen with some simple rice dishes that are fan favourites with all comers - read sukiyaki. In the beginning I would have given them 3 stars but since then the broth is better, and everything is coming together better. I expect they will keep fine tuning the broth and chasu. Currently, they are both bordering on good to very good. The service is friendly and prompt, there is rarely much of a wait for anything. They have chosen to staff the floor with north american types while the owners run the food line. I recommend this place with my stomach and my heart ????????????

It's quite good. Best I've had in the Okanagan. It's not Vancouver good, but I'll definitely go back again and again when the ramen cravings kick in. I've been spoiled.

Everything's really salty and lacking in nuanced flavors - The sushi is an absolute mess - And the ramen is so expensive. I discovered I could go elsewhere and get a big bowl of noodles and broth for 17 bucks when it costs me 25 base price to get enough there, so as much as a novelty they were starting up in this town, I can't justify going back.

Very nice atmosphere, wonderful staff. First ramen shop I've been to and the food was amazing. I tried the Raku ramen, very tasty. Noodles were very bouncy, chashu pork was great and the broth had a very rounded flavor that made it hard to put down. I will definitely be going back again.

It was pretty cool to get a noodle bar in this town, and they were nice to have at the start. The food is decent - Nothing truly great. The sushi is actually pretty poor. Mostly, I find myself looking at their latest prices and realizing it's a full dollar fifty for any addon; stuff that really should just be 50 cents to get, knowing the cost of the ingredients as someone who works in restaurants. This results in paying upwards of 30 dollars for a single bowl, just getting things like double noodles and flavoring.

Ramen was not bad but not spectacular. The rice bowl was a surprisingly small portion and was not particularly flavourful. Overall pretty average food.
