It's a nice dining experience with indoor and outdoor seating and a bar. There is something avout taking the fancy elevator up to the 6th floor to have your meal. They have booths and regular dining tables. They have this sushi/seafood kitchen? bar? (Too lazy to google the proper term) where you see the chefs working. The sablefish was good. I liked the lobster bisque good lobster flavor. The filet mignon and the Ribeye were ok, but cooked to the requested doneness. For the desert the chocolate bread pudding was good but I felt the chocolate crunch was like any other chocolate dessert at tonnes of other places. The service was good. Our server was patient and helpful but I felt not friendly at all. I ordered a la carte and she suggested I order a side dish because the dine out menu would come with extra sides or vegetables. I was a built miffed when the mains came with the same 2 bits of potato, tomato, green pepper. So yeah went for dine out. The pricing for dine out is tricky. You kinda have to see if you like the items and if you want the dessert because it just might not be worth it it's like that for most dine outs is. It was nice but nothing special and I wouldn't go again.

Nice service. Bread was very fresh, crisp outside and soft inside. One of the best I ever had. Crab cake was nice, going very well with the paired sauce. My steak was a bit too burnt outside. But still very juicy inside. Time waiting between app and main was a bit too long. It was a busy night though. In general, very good experience. Will return.

Victor has it all. Some of the best steaks I have had in the city. Some of the best attention to detail I have seen as well. Went with a group of friends completely hammered and bought steak. They served it for everybody at the table as opposed to serving it uncut, it was cut in tiny portions. The bartender at the time Christian, is very knowledgable about his cocktails and negronis. He seems to have a way with talking to all people in a good manner and can crack a good joke every now and again.

Vanfoodiepharmily

Great environment and service, but the food and the taste is just mehhhh. Nothing is above 6/10, disappointed.

Kevin Wu

Delicious food and great service. Went for our anniversary dinner and they went above and beyond for us. Loved the overall experience.

Kemi Wells

Great service, while the food isn't bad it's a bit under my expectations based on how nice the restaurant is.

Rosa Park

Perfect food, amazing ambiance, great music, very attentive and respectful servers. Only problem is the way to find the restaurant. If it is your first time be prepared to get lost. Hotel staff didn't even know how to get there... Asked 4 Hotel staff, only 1 knew the right way to get there...No signage, zero signs to get there.

yes.

Outstanding food, great service, beautiful place to relax and enjoy!

Absolutely amazing experience. The food is a typical steakhouse but reasonably priced with interesting side dishes. The Mac N Cheese Waffle was a delight and I would recommend it to everyone. It's cut up into four pieces so can be easily shared. The customer service was top notch considering how busy the restaurant was all evening. Our waiter was approachable and entertaining. He was right, after 10 pm the restaurant had a subtle club vibe. Made you feel like you're on vacation. Considering we arrived at 6:30 pm and stayed until 11:00 pm with great company, food, drinks and atmosphere - we definitely plan to go back. We tried several cocktails without any complaints. The wine recommendation was spot on and enjoyed by the table. Easily a place to go back to for drinks and appies. Favorite dish: Wagyu Burger and add the Foie Gras (Amazing!)

I love Tomahawk here! Massive good to share with group of friends. Will deff come back again. The night scene is beautiful with the water pond outside having different themes at times.

Came here during Dine Out Vancouver and what a great choice it was. The food was very delicious. Lobster Bisque was immaculate and the steak was bursting with flavour! Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. Ambience seems casual and the staff could use a little more training. Got my soup without a spoon. Got our mains dropped on the table (not by our server) and he was gone in a flash. No follow-up on whether we needed anything else, which we did, like ground pepper! Another busser dropped his tray and fork flew into my wife's chest. Accidents happen so no big fuss here. Manager offered complimentary refill on my wife's glass of red, kudos to them. But just going back to the food, A+!

This place is expensive because it is amazing and here's why: you can't beat the ambiance. Right when you get up to the top floor, the view and entrance to the restaurant is amazing. We were fortunate enough to sit next to an open patio with B.C. place as our view. There's a reason why this place is always packed. Their steaks are AMAZING. The fam and I tend to order bigger steaks and have it cut to share (we all like it rare which makes it easier). The service is great. Again, it's expensive but not outrageous. Great for special occasions. We ordered the tomahawk, rib cap steak and the cowboy ribeye for 5 people. It was perfect. My mouth is watering right now as I think about the steaks.

Terrible experience!!! I was so excited to try the Victor as I have Celiacs and another spot in the city to eat at, that supposedly can cater to a gluten free diet, is amazing! As we ordered I had stated to our waitor I need a gluten free diet and have an allergy. After knowing this they had bread sent to my table and my friend asked 3 times and I asked as well if the bread was Gluten Free and the waitors response was yes, yes enjoy! I take a bite and it was not gluten free at all!! I immediately start over heating and shaking where we have to cut our dinner short I could barely get through eating my actual meal! JUST BECAUSE PEOPLE WITH CELIACS ARENT GOING INTO ANAPHYLACTIC SHOCK LIKE A PEANUT ALLERGY, DOESNT MEAN IT IS NOT A SERIOUS MATTER!! The manager came over and apologized but was waiting for me to basically fall on the floor to really grasp how serious it was.. however this will greatly effect my body for months.. my meal was taken care of but it is pitiful.. if your establishment cannot cater to people that clearly state they have a Gluten allergy and have celiacs then DONT!

Lincoln Vang

I visit this place a lot since I work nearby. I have to say their service is always fantastic and they keep the spot well organized consistently. Prices are reasonable and they serve large portions.

John Wu

Full House so we left even after they asked for our QR passport and ID then tell us it's a 30 min wait....tell your patrons in advance so we don't have to stand in entryway with others like cattle

Only went for drinks, but our sever was super knowledgeable in Burbons to find my partner a perfect old fashion. Service was prompt and polite even on a busy Friday night. Nice little night out :)

Travis Feldmann

Came here with my GF to celebrate her birthday. The server was really attentive and friendly. For the food it took a very long time to arrive but we noticed the kitchen was really busy. The T bone steak was simply amazing. The meat was melting in your mouth. Absolutely recommend ????

P Sandhu

Great environment here, good steak here. But seafood is not good at all.

Sean Deegan

This place is a disgrace to food. We were a group of 8 friends, and nothing from the table tasted decent/edible. The steaks were really bad, i actually never thought a meat can taste that bad. I like to be fair with reviews but this one is beyond my minimum expectations. The sushi is low quality and it tasted as if the rice was two days old. The fish smelled not fresh. The service is pretty spot on, Ill give them that. The drinks were alright but definitely not worth the price tag. Not recommended at all.

I had been meaning to dine in for a while, however, it always seemed like there were other restaurants that peaked my interest more. By the time I finally came around to trying it out, they had the dine outside menu, which was quite a steal for the 3 course meal, which included a ribeye steak. Im normally quite weary of dine out menus since it seems as if they're never on par with what a restaurant normally makes, however, because The Victor is self proclaimed as a steakhouse, I made the assumption that their steak would be done well regardless. To start, I had the lobster bisque, which was done very well. When the steak arrived, I was surprised that we weren't offered a steak knife so I assumed it was just because it was a dine out situation that they maybe (?) didn't have enough steak knives to go around. I had ordered it rare, and the steak came out overcooked. The cut was very underwhelming for a ribeye, let alone, impossible to cut with the knife that was at the table. When our server finally came around to check on us, I was going to ask him for a steak knife then but he had them in hand and told us he saw us struggling with cutting our steaks and that these might come in handy. Regardless of the knife, the fact that he saw us really struggling with cutting, what was supposedly a ribeye, done rare (my guest had his done medium rare and struggled just as much), it honestly shouldn't have been so hard to cut through. The steak was served with whipped mash, which was overly salty and a couple pieces of roasted veggies. The dessert options were a coconut cake and a black forest cake. My guest and I ordered different cakes to be able to sample both. There was nothing particularly special but they weren't terrible either. I would maybe come back for drinks on their patio since the view and interior are beautiful, however, I would definitely suggest Elisa or Gotham if I was to recommend a steak house in Vancouver.

What can I say even after months of being closed the tomahawk is still insanely good. Service - impeccable. Food - amazing. Vibe - how it should be. Sheek and funky. As a regular i appreciate the little things they do. The best steak house in Vancouver.

Today we went to The Victor to celebrate my husband's birthday. We are from Toronto and our friends recommend us to try this restaurant. We ordered the striploin, mushroom, asparagus, oysters, salad and lemme tell you it was honestly the best food we ate ever! The food was amazing ! It was the best steak we ever had..no joke medium rare to perfection. Big thanks to our server Matthew! He was friendly, offered us recommendations and he was very attentive and we never had to ask for anything. He helped poured our drinks and checked up on us frequently. We felt like queens and kings. Thank you for making my husband's Birthday extra special. We also had a baby with us and he treated us exceptionally well. He was one of the best servers ever! Thanks!! Would definately come back next time when visiting Vancouver

The ambience was nice and my party and I enjoyed the live music. Our waitress came back a bit too frequently in the beginning to take our order (Which was kind of annoying as we just sat down). I tried the vera rogue virgin cocktail. It tasted artificial and hypersweet. It reminded me of cough syrup that is heavily flavoured as berries. The best appetizer we ordered was the beef tartar paired with bone marrow infused bread. I think it was very delicious and worth the money. We also ordered jumbo prawns which was very disappointing. The sauce was very ordinary and the plating was below average!! I ordered a filet mignon, which was cooked medium rare. It needed a bit more salt in my opinion and came out a bit cold? Once again, the plating for the main dishes was very ordinary and the plates looked/felt cheap. It was my friend's birthday and they sent us a complimentary cake which was so thoughtful! It was coconut vanilla and it was tasty. It was a bit on the heavier side of desserts. There is abundant parking on the street when we went. The hotel is decorated nicely and makes for great pictures with friends. Personally, this would not be my first choice for a night out due to the average plating and average tasting food. I am glad I tried it out though!

Josh Jackson

The food was good, the service was excellent and the overall restaurant experience was brilliant but the reason I'm only giving 3 stars is because the waiters failed to tell us they CHARGE YOU for water?! We didn't know it cost money and we ended up having 5 bottles of still water for $40.. Had he said "tap water is free and still is $7 a bottle" then we wouldn't have asked for still water. We were very surprised and disappointed. Overall.. I'd recommend to anyone looking for a nice night out but be careful with their extra unnecessary charges. The steaks were also overcooked. I asked for medium rare and got medium.. My family who asked for medium got medium well done.

Anthony Jiang

Pretty good steak and excellent service but way overpriced. Went here for a company function, wouldn't spend my own money here, better value for the dollar at the keg.

Matt Koda

Very nice atmosphere and live music

Terrible service. Worst I have seen. 20 mins for a glass of wine and beer. Food was okay messed up our orders. Very disappointed. Would not recommend it.

We went to celebrate my Dad’s birthday and had a great time at Victor. We especially loved the Hamachi Collar and Cowboy Ribeye. (Had leftover ribeye the next day and it still melt in your mouth). We were very impressed with full lobster dish (which my Mom had to share which I’m not complaining about). We also enjoyed the gourmet onion rings, halibut, brussel sprouts, rack of lamb and mac n cheese waffles. Can’t wait to go back and try more.

Sean Tennant

Great service. Good parking. Solid food and shots

I've been to the Victor twice and the ambience, food, and customer service was good. My complaint starts with when I wanted to reserve for a party of 15+ for a birthday dinner. It was the worst customer service for a reservation booking I've ever dealt with. It was extremely disorganized to the point where I decided to take my business elsewhere. I am aware it's a new restaurant and is probably working through some glitches, but a customer should never have to deal with that mess.

Johnny Southwell

Great food great service, great management, classy, 100% recommend this place, thanks to Eddie for amazing service, he takes care of each table one by one and also Matthew for great service, will definitely go back there

D S

Amazing experience. Came here with a friend for the first time for Dine Out Vancouver. The meal started with probably the best bread I've ever had. Then I had the Avocado Aburi and the Sablefish followed by the Chocolate moose cup for dessert. The appy was amazing full of flavor and the sablefish was cooked perfectly and was tender and moist. I would order both again if I went back! The chocolate desert cup was rich and decadent. Our waiter Christian Brown was always close by and was a pleasure to deal with.

Konstantins Karpecenkovs

Overall it’s a great place but I will pay more than the things you will get, yes I mean it’s pricey.

Heather Rexin

Went here for my partners birthday, the lobster bisque arrived lukewarm, taste was ok but wasn’t hot like a soup should be so sent it back for another. The broccolini tasted like cigarettes. I ordered a 9oz filet mignon which was great but when we asked to have our leftovers boxed in as little packaging as possible, we walked out with a full bag of containers for each separate item and they also didn’t include the remainder 3-4oz of steak that was left on my plate. We didn’t discover this until the following morning, so called the restaurant and tried to follow up, it has been a month now and they have not responded to us about the missing steak which in my opinion is theft, so making it known that this place isn’t worth your time or money. 2/10 experience.

Amazing experience! Victor has a wonderful ambience, vibe and delicious food with big portions. Our server Torsten was very knowledgeable and provided us with outstanding service. Highly recommended ????

This place was an interesting experience. The restaurant was busy and kitchen was behind schedule. We sat there for a while waiting however the server made this experience so much better. Brought complimentary appetizer, communicated frequently and once the food arrived it was exceptional. The broiled octopus was possibly the best i had and swordfish was great.

Michael Carniel

Had their brunch buffet, it was really good, surprised that they had lots of seafood!

Shannon F

I celebrate everything here! Staff are fantastic, especially our regular server Matthew. Food is great and the team really tries their best to accommodate your needs. This is my go to place.

Robbie Sharda

We were here in September and it was excellent. This time however not so much. Our server had no personality, the filet was meh with a sprinkle of course salt for flavor and was an average cut. My husband's Ribeye was majority gristle. The tempura prawns were the highlight. The air conditioning came on part way into our dining experience and when I mentioned it to our server Richard his reply was "it was even colder in here last night". Bizarre response so knowing the A/C in winter is a common occurrence or at least the way Richard disregarded it to be we won't be back. We have no problem paying $200+ for dinner for two but expect a good experience and this was not it. We will stick with Blue Water Cafe or Elisa up the street

Breanne Cooper

Great night, had an amazing steak, perfectly cooked. Appy n desert was delicious. Try the double cooked fries and truffle. Ate way too much, couldn't stop myself. Worth it.

Sharon Cheng

Food is good, but pricing is equivalent to top end, which it's not

gloria parihar

We tried this during the dine outside promotion. Very good experience. I much preferred the regular menu. Our gracious host Matthew accommodated us to allow for selections on the regular menu which allowed for more fattier cuts of steak. Must try the foie gras and the prime rib cap steaks.

Aaron Ottho

Reservation was lost, took them forever to sort out the reservation and then mixed up our food & drink orders. Service was slow as well but food was good.

Moe Obeid

I honestly can’t comment on the food or the restaurant itself because I wasn’t even able to get a call back for a reservation. I had attempted to book a large group dinner 3 weeks in advance. When I called they took all my information and said they would put in the request and someone from the events team would call me back the next day or the day after at the very latest. 2 days had passed and I hadn’t heard from anyone so I attempted to call in again. The girl on the phone remembered me and said to “give it another couple days, they go through the requests in order”. I asked exactly how long it would take and if someone would call me before the end of the week since I would have to make alternate plans for the dinner party if we weren’t able to make a reservation. She put me hold on and spoke to the hostess. After speaking with the hostess she took all my info again “just to make sure” and said the hostess will give the request to the coordinator first thing in the morning and someone should get back to me by the end of the day hopefully. She also said that someone would contact me for sure to let me know either way if they can accommodate my reservation request and that it should be soon. Well it’s been well over a week and I still haven’t received any form of communication which is completely ridiculous. The fact that you have to go through hoops just to attempt to make a group reservation is beyond stupid, and the fact that the so called “event team” can’t contact you within “a couple of days” is disgraceful. I can only imagine how bad the service would be at the restaurant. Get it together. It’s not that hard to take reservations and tell someone if there is space available or not. It should be a simple conversation that’s easily done over the phone at the first point of communication. Unbelievable!!!!! Will never eat here, I will gladly take my business to any one of the other premium steakhouses in the city. I’d also much rather simply to go to the Keg than to deal with this type of management.

The service was amazing and we got extremely great service!

Great covid protocols in place. We went here for our anniversary dinner and the service was exceptional. The California roll, steak and mashed potatoes were all delicious!

RMTMGFMYLYH

Best steak ???? we have had in B.C. Top quality Porterhouse to share with all the sides. Chicago style had the perfect blackening from their 1200⁰C broiler, with perfect blue middle. The service was exceptional and our waiter customized our orders and drinks to an exceptional degree - he even hand stuffed olives with blue cheese for my gin martini. We are going back, and can't wait to relive this experience!

Great looking room and nice atmosphere. What you would expect from a restaurant on this property. Came here to celebrate a milestone birthday in the family. Food overall was good, but not remarkable. For the prices, and profile of the place, it should be perfect. Steaks were overdone. Received a salmon dish that was overcooked, which was taken away and brought back correctly cooked. But, during a washroom break, my plate was taken away without checking with me before I could finish. Asked our server about it, and he nodded in agreement, then turned around to admonish the runner in front of me. Server asked if I wanted to order something else, but I hesitated since it was unclear if I would be charged for another order, and by that time everyone else was finished eating. Seemed that this had happened before with that runner, but no actual apology from the server or manager. Charged full price for the dish. Again, no apology or acknowledgement when the bill was presented. Still left a generous tip. I have consulted for restaurant groups on service in the past, and this wouldn't be acceptable protocol for other restaurants of this class, or even restaurants below this class. Not signature level service, when it should be.

Christine Knoll Walker

Service: 4/5 - Our server was great and very well informed about the menu. Checked in a little too frequently. Food: 4/5 - We ordered the dungeoness crab cake and the ceviche tasting to start. The fresh crab meat couldnt outshine the taste of old frying oil. The plaintain chips served with fresh buttery scallop and shrimp ceviche were more pleasant. We paired with 2 glasses of prosecco. For mains we ordered the 12oz Striploin with Triple Cooked Fries and Charred Broccoli as sides and the Whole Branzino which is a European Bass served with head and tail and is completely deboned and perfectly crispy on the outside with tender white meat in the inside. The only problem with the caponata tucked away beneath the fish was that there wasn't enough. The Striploin was properly seared and crispy on the outside and succulent and even on the inside. We paired our mains with 2 glasses of Tignanello which we were very happy to find by the glass thanks to their sleek looking wine dispencer featured amongst their decor which is a hybridization of a few styles. Will be going back to try the wagyu beef burger.

Came here for my birthday dinner/dine out and every dish was filling and delicious! Service was friendly and great ambiance :)

Very nice decor, but super slow service . Food was quite good would go back for the mac and cheese waffles. Got the 50 Oz Tomahawk Steak with the seafood platter more then enough to share. It was all cooked awesome. But reservation was for 8:30 and didn't eat till 11. That being said they did take care of us and it was still very enjoyable. I will for sure go back. Just with a smaller group to see it that was the problem with the service.

Had a wonderful romantic evening dinner. The prome rib was on the 3 course dinner special and it was the best I had ever had. The view and service by our server was amazing too. The only negative was that the seating staff seemed miffed that we arrived without a regeneration.

Matt Jackman Wong

Partook of the 'Sunday Spoils' dinner for four. Everything was excellent!! The Tomahawk Prime Rib was mouth watering, and even the Brussel Sprouts (normally never eat) were delicious. Their outdoor patio & fountain pool provide such a calm, yet luxurious atmosphere & dining experience. Look forward to dining here again. Top notch.

Sara

This place has hands down some of the best steaks in town. The tomahawk is an huge excellent steak that's a great value and feeds 3. Your dog will be happy with the bone.

Christopher James Katan

Beautiful setting and great treatment by the staff. Food was fabulous!

Derek Bumstead

The restaurant had a good atmosphere. The food we had was average. We only had starters. My son has an allergy and some of the servers comments such as, “you’ll probably be ok” made him lose confidence in their ability to handle his allergy. We decided not to eat there. We politely let our server know that we would have our drinks and apps and free up the table. It was later in the evening so when we told him he checked his watch, likely to let us know we wasted his time. His attitude through the experience was passive aggressive and condescending.

Kevin Dallas

Dine out Vancouver restaurant experiences can be very hit and miss. Fortunately, this was a "hit". Our server was excellent. Unhurried and calm despite how busy the restaurant was (packed on a Sunday). The kitchen did a great job expediting the courses - it's hard to believe they've only been opened for roughly a month. Courses followed one another in short order but not so quick that you feel rushed. Our server was upbeat and clearly happy with the dine out turnout. This was refreshing because most other places you go for DOV, the servers are always grumpy and wish they were elsewhere. Food was good from beginning to end. We had the Lobster and crab bisque, steak with peppercorn sauce and chocolate mousse and the other dessert. Between the two dessert options, the chocolate mousse was the stronger one. We also had a look at their regular menu and it looks like Keg pricing (perhaps just a tad higher) which was interesting because they marketed the restaurant as Parq Vancouver's fine dine resto. We will return to this restaurant.

Robtimus Prime

Outstanding food presentation and quality, service was excellent. Nice cozy environment. Overall was a good dining experience.

Jeremy Lang

Food was amazing. Great place for a date night

Martin Malone

We had an awesome time at the Victor. Grant, the General Manager, took care of our needs extremely well.

Ivan Celuszak

This place is worth a try if you are in the area. We had tried sushi and seafood platters and they are known for their steaks so we had to get on too. Everything was awesome. Our server mariya was very professional, polite, and very patient with my wife and I. The atmosphere was also very up scale but at the same time casual too. I would definitely go again.

Tammy Brimner

Victor is Back and it felt like they never left us. Food quality is TOP and service is 5 starts. The main point of the review is the TIRAMISU. It is insane. What a tasted! there is not a tiramisu like this in Vamcouver. See the pictures attached.

Perfect food and Great service. It’s my first time to do review it because of The Victor. I really enjoyed my birthday dinner in here. It was lovely! Absolutely recommend this place.

I celebrated my birthday at The Victor yesterday. The atmosphere is great, very spacious and comfy seating. My waiter was great, he was a bit busy with another big party but tried his best to checkup on us once awhile. We ordered the Prime Rib for 2, it is only served on Sundays. Appetizer: Victor Cheese & Onion Bread Caesar Salad Lobster & Crab Bisque I really enjoyed the Caesar Salad as I was suprised by the crispy chickpeas and shaved brussels sprouts. Not a big fan of either but it sure stands out from your normal Caesar Salad. The bisque was very rich and tasty. It wasnt big portion but it is enough as the rest of the meal will make you very full. Main I chose 24 oz Canadian Prime Rib Eye Roast. It comes with crispy brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes. The prime rib was cooked to perfection, we ordered medium rare. It was so tender. Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes were great side dishes as well. Dessert It was a Creme Brulee Donuts served with cotton candy. We were way too full so I had it packed, it was not the same eating at the restaurant. So next time I will leave room for dessert. One thing that would make the whole meal even better is a tint lighter in salt level for all the dishes. It was just a tint salty for us.

Ayla Conklin

Will definitely come back! Food was delicious and drinks were as well. They’re very attending and staff is very kind. Staff was very accommodative when our group needed to change tables. The only negative is their portions for mains seem a little small. I ordered chicken and had to order a side separately and a friend ordered what we though would be a big plate of food but only covered half the plate. Portions are ultimately small for the price.

Mayu Mi

Always great food and service.

Kingsley Bailey

Exceptional service, elegant establishment, spectacular desserts, excellent drinks, the food is sublime... what more can I say?

Kevin Adkins

Loud music that tarnished the overall experience. We asked three managers (at least that's what they said they are) who said they would turn it down but did nothing. The food was quite good but we had to hail the lady down and ask for bread for our table because we were neglected. I wouldn't blame our waiter for the less than desirable service because he was doing his best - just not good managers. Strange wine serving protocol - the manager ( yes another one of those incapable ones) brought the bottle to the table , we did the tasting and he took it away and was gone 10 minutes before we asked the waiter to bring it back. To top it all we were told we had the table for a limited time....great decor and nice looking place but for the prices they are asking Victor does not live up to it's name. Underwhelming!

vishad deeplaul

Atmosphere was wonderful. The food presentation was amazing and our waiter was very attentive. Will definitely come back again.

I never write reviews but due to my experience It felt necessary to write one We had reservations at 5:30 when we arrived, the restaurant was empty and the hostess informed us we had till 7:30 to be in the restaurant which was fine. Our waiter came around took our drink and appitizer order. He then asked us right away what we would like for mains. We told him that we are planing to order mains after our appi is finished as we didn’t even have time to look at the mains on the menu. He then insisted that we place our main order as it would take 40 mins to make. We then advised him that we still have till 7:30 to be in the restaurant which gives us enough time to order and eat our mains within the 2 hour time period we were given. We were a bit taken back by how we were being rushed. Our appi then arrived at 5:40pm and he then told us there was a mistake and that we actually only had till 7pm. Which we were ok with, but the way he was persistent with the time, demonstrated that he had poor customer service. We were unhappy with how the waiter was rushing us, so we told him that we are planning to leave after our appi. The manger then came to our table and reiterated what the waiter had said and informed us that they made the mistake that we only had till 7, and weren't trying to rush us. We still decided to leave as felt we weren’t being heard. We paid our bill and when we left we weren’t even acknowledged; which shows poor customer service for a restaurant that considers itself high end. We then went to Cardero’s last minute which they accommodated us even though they were full and busy. Our waiter was amazing, our food was outstanding, the place was bumping with live music , we were not rushed at all and the food was cheaper than Victor's. There is a reason why Cardero’s has 4.5 stars and The Victor has 4.1, you would think a high end restaurant would have more stars. Even Cactus Club has more stars than The Victor and better customer service. I advice you all to go to the many other high end restaurants in Vancouver with better ratings and better service.

We went around 4:30pm for early diner and the patio was still empty. We were able to enjoy the patio view with no one around for a bit. The food was delicious and the server was nice. I love the marakuya sour, it’s super refreshing for anyone enjoy sours. The 28oz striploin was so tender juicy on the inside and yet nicely cooked on the outside. The Black Forest cake at the end was huge!

Klaudine Esperat

Tried for the first time with dine out. Awesome food. The mac and cheese walfes were to die for..

We went to The Victor for a DineOut Vancouver festival menu that offered select dishes from the regular dinner menu. The location of the restaurant is terrific, providing a great view, although the interior design doesn't match the potential of the space. We started the evening with lobster bisque and an endive salad; a small portion of Japanese milk bread accompanied the appetizers. The bisque was rich and creamy, beautifully served in a large bowl. The salad was overwhelmingly dressed, so it was hard to distinguish the ingredients and enjoy it thoroughly. As soon as we finished the appetizers, the mains arrived. The sirloin steak was cooked adequately to requested rare doneness, but the meat cut was chewy, and the green pepper sauce was too intense. The potato gratin that accompanied the steak was overly blunt and simple. The coho salmon was overcooked, excessively dry and generously spiced with black pepper. It came with a Peruvian chile pepper puree, which just intensified the spicy side of the taste palette. I would call the mains a complete failure even for a festival menu that implies compromises. Luckily, the deserts and coffee managed to improve our dining experience. The Eton Mess and Chocolate Mousse were quite good and demonstrated great potential. Although we can't recommend the festival menu, we decided to come back to try the chilled seafood bar that looked quite promising and the deserts.

Abusolutely terrible service From back to back nights. Pretty overpriced from what they are serving too.

Service was attentive and kind. The shrimp tempura, blue-fin tuna, and coffee semifroddo were all fantastic! They were also incredibly lovely to look at and made for a wonderful dining experience. Unfortunately, the steak itself was a bit of a let-down. We got the rib-eye and compared to the elaborate and intricate appearance of the other dishes, it was a little underwhelming. In terms of flavour, while it was cooked well, it didn't really blow our mind. Seafood may be the best choice at this restaurant. :)

A great dinner out on an amazing stay at the JW Marriott Parq. Lovely setting with outdoor patio. Great wines by the glass. Tasty dinner options. And a fancy dessert in cotton candy. For all about our great stay check out the RetiredAndTravelling blog post.

Beautiful Atmosphere. Location of the restaurant hotel right outside BC place as it glows purple. We came here for dine out and had a lovely time. Bob, our server, was very friendly, efficient and informative. Food was prepared well and portions were a decent size. Steak was prepared very well. Bread that they serve is yummy. Felt the Toffee bread pudding tasted more orange than Toffee. Parking at the hotel is $25.00 and is not validated.

Excellent steak, great atmosphere and decor. Service was excellent. We went for dine outside Vancouver and the options for the courses were fantastic

This place has hands down some of the best steaks in town. The tomahawk is an huge excellent steak that's a great value and feeds 3. Your dog will be happy with the bone.

Overpriced for the quality of food. Long waits and poor service. Not what I expected for "fine" dinning. Nothing special. Drinks were ok.

On the top floor of the Parq Casino. We were going to play slots, but decided to have a bite to eat beforehand. Warning ⚠️ unless you plan on having a really expensive meal, better to avoid this place. It was packed the night we were trying to find a place, settling on this place without realizing how expensive everything was. $35 for most appies; we ordered 2 at first, prawns and crab cakes. We got 3 giant prawns (wish I took a pic) and one crab cake, but since it was going to be an hour before our meal arrived (they told us before we sat down), we decided to order two more of each. So, before even ordering our dinner, $140...you see where I am going with this. After trying to find a decent priced meal because our friend was paying, I was going to order a 10 oz steak for $21, which I thought was pretty darn decent since our appies were $35 a plate. But, too our surprise it was $21/oz, which would make my steak $210????, and I still had to order sides. So, you guessed it, I decided not to get that! I instead found a meal that was $42, with all my sides, halibut on risotto with asparagus. Even that price was a bit much, wasn't the best halibut I have had, and the asparagus was chewy. For the price of the steak, the table was rocking from the others cutting their steak. ???? I didn't complain as I didn't want to be ungrateful for a meal someone else was paying for. But, my company was great ???? Sorry, long review, but worth the read before you dine there.

More like a 3.75.. dined here twice and food is not bad, but not amazing at the same time. Had a porterhouse the first time and delmonico ribeye the 2nd, both times steak was lacking in flavor. I would rather eat at Elisa or The Keg. I would say just go for the sights as it's got a gorgeous view of the city.

J Phagura

I took my mother here for her birthday and the whole family was extremely happy with the service and food. They even ensured to check ahead of times for food allergies and any special requests. The food was amazing and i would highly recommend anyone to try this restaurant. And a special thank you to our server Jeffery M who is extremely well mannered and help us the whole night to make the evening special. Thank you

I went to Victors for a birthday we had terrible service, drinks took forever and the bus boy dropped a tray of wine glasses on me and they did not compensate us let alone got attitude and paid a lot of money for nothing! I would not come back to this place.

Lonny Legault

Excellent food, lots of paid parking spots (& free electric car charging) and a relaxed environment. Great for special days & celebrations. Be prepared to spend some money!

Exquisite steak and desserts were really good too.

One of the best restaurant experience I've ever had. Made a reservation for our anniversary and dine out vancouver. Right away, we were greeted and seated. Outstanding service from our waiter Matthew who knew so much about the menu and the restaurant. Food was delicious and made with care. What I really appreciated was numerous staff came to our table to wish us a Happy Anniversary and there was even a greeting card at our table upon arrival. Staff are on point with making every dining experience so special and it will not be the last time we visit! Thank you Victor!

Michael Stoddart

Service is really hit or miss but the food is great. Happy there is a place in the city that serves snake river.

Blanca Dominguez

Beautiful entrance to the restaurant, amazing views of Vancouver, steak and whiskey drinks were excellent. Service was outstanding. Definitely recommend this place!

Excellent service and tasty food. Tomahawk steak is a must try.

The Victor has delicious steaks and good service. I just wish it was quieter as you can hardly hear the person next to you. Burger was tasty as well but too salty.

Went for Dine Out with my fiance. Like any fine dining restaurant, the atmosphere was a nice dim lighting. The staff was friendly and explained questions I had about the dishes. Appetizers were OK. Main course - steak was great. If I had to be picky, it might have been a tad bit too flavourful. My fiance found the salmon a bit bland, and the veggies that came with the salmon were a bit on the dry but oily side. Dessert was excellent, wish I had more.

Carlos Alberto Méndez López

I ordered takeout from this place while staying at the Parq. Options for vegetarians and vegans are almost next to none, so if you fit in that category probably not too much of a point trying this place. We got mashed potatoes and the Mac & Cheese Waffle. The potatoes were OK, a bit bland, but the waffle was really yummy. I've never tried anything like it before so kudos to them for coming up with a unique twist on Mac & Cheese.

I visited the victor yesterday for the 1st time and I had a strange experience which to many may seem not important or relevant. I did feel the need to put my experience out here as I felt it was a very unique one from what I have had in a variety of prestige and reputable brands situated in prime locations. My experience is not related to food as I didn’t have any but I came here with my work buddies for a few drinks. We were greeted well and the server was to his extent doing a good job. The place where my mind was forced to question service quality and the brands reputation was when we were served water in a variety of glasses. Just to put the photo into perspective The two glasses that have bigger capacity and wider concave mouth were served to the 2 men at the table and the ladies the other 4 glasses which have comparatively less capacity and smaller size were served to the women at the table. After we were done with our drinks, I inquired to the server that why were the glasses not consistent and if there was a theme that was followed by the restaurant for serving men and women in different glasses but to my surprise the reason provided was that they ran out of same glasses. This answer somehow is not satisfactory enough to my curious mind as to whether it was an unintentional/intentional gender bias or the brand “Victor” is not meant to be known for providing consistent and quality services to its customers. If the management or any representative of “Victor” located at level 6 in Parq Hotel and Casino is reading this, please feel free to contact me if you want to discuss this further. PS. Not writing this review for any compensation for the experience but to understand and set my expectations for the brand.

Eugene Cheng

Food is good but need to improve service. The waiter seems always in a rush. The seafood and sashimi r delicious and fresh.

Since it’s the 3rd time that I ordered medium rare steak and it turned out burned here! I think I need to speak out! After I sat down, the server asked me to order drinks at least 5 times. Then my friends came he still kept asking us to order drinks, constantly, through the whole night! When I told the server the steak was over cooked, he did NOT apologize, said it’s the light making it look burn, and no discount. My friend ordered medium and it turned out well done. And the steak was also TINY, def not 10oz. From girls point of view, we don’t eat much and we weren’t even full after a 3 course meal. We were very disappointed. Def not planning to come back again.

Coen Horton

One hour and 15 min to eat, food is ok, not really worth the price, service terrible. I don't recommend it. location wise is an ok place.

To the management: PLEASE DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN DINE OUT. Unfortunately I had no choice but to come here during Dine Out as this was a Birthday celebration which happens every year during this time. I purposely try to pick a restaurant that is not on the list but this year I thought a restaurant of this class should have no issues, they're prepared right? Oh boy was I wrong. Food is great, no complaints here, cocktail seemed watered down, a bit pricey on the appetizers, small portions but this is to be expected and not the reason at all for the low rating. A 6:30pm reservation turned into us being seated just before 8pm. As if it couldn't get any worse it seems like our server didn't know he had been given our table so we sat around for a good 15 minutes until we decided to flag someone down and ask where our server was. Granted once our server realized we existed the service was fine considering how busy it was. The food itself was actually pretty good, our table had one person order from the dine-out menu and the other 2 ordered off the regular menu. Our entrees took until almost 9pm for it to arrive (almost an hour after we ordered). The saving grace is that the staff was apologetic and the manager did drop by once but honestly for a restaurant in this class I expected a bit more than that. The weird thing was our server said he didn't charge us for the dessert, but the only dessert that we got was the one from the dine out menu so no idea what he was talking about. I snapped a picture of the receipt, for 3 people our bill totalled ~$220 after tax and I just realized they charged us in-correctly for a glass of wine, as in charged us more than they should've. I guess in addition to expecting a LONG wait for everything, also double check your bill! TLDR: 6:30pm reservation, got our table at ~8pm, got our food ~9pm, billed incorrectly. What a nice four $$$$ sign establishment.

Ayden Eng

Good food. Excellent service. Probably the best bread and blue cheese butter in the whole of the lower mainland.

Jason Lin

Great food and service ! A good place to patio during the COVID.

Bobby Bhinder

Nothing extraordinary. Mediocre food and mediocre service, but definitely overpriced for what you get. The seating is horrible and uncomfortable, and some tables are located way too close to the entrance/front desk making for an awkward dining experience. The steak I got tasted very gingery for some reason and was not worth the price. There also seems to be a lack of communication amongst the staff as items from our table were removed twice before we were finished with them. If you’re looking for a high-end dining experience where the food and service reflects the price you’re paying, The Victor ain’t it. The onion rings were really good though and that was the highlight of our dinner.

Tracy Lou

My husband and I went to the victor for our birthdays last weekend. We were seated in a timely manner and the atmosphere was beautiful. I ordered a glass of prosecco and was never asked if I would like another drink as my glass just sat there empty. My husband ordered his steak rare and it came out well done. We were both starving at this time, as there was a big gap between the time we ordered our meals and the arrival of our meals to our tables. We did not want to to have to send it back but we did as it was not anywhere near to his liking. The server took my husbands steak back and said he would bring him a new one. I waited a few minutes but then my food started to get cold, I had to eat dinner on my own as my husband just sat there. 15 minutes later his new steak came to the table, he cut in to it and it was done medium! At this point he just ate the steak as he was starving. We did not have a manager come by to talk to us about this as we expected. One of the workers that were walking by asked us how our night was. I wasn't going to say anything at first but then decided to be honest about how things were going. She said she would send the manager over. We never had the manager come talk to us, instead our server came over and said that desert would be taken care of and handed each of us a dessert menu, after a few minutes the server came back to take our dessert order. He says to us "Is there a dessert you two have picked out to share" at this point I said to him that I was under the impression that we would get a dessert each. He then says "Yea yea that's fine do whatever" Also after we finished dinner our empty plates sat at our table for a good 20 minutes before anyone came and cleared it off. We were seated at 7pm a few minutes later it started to get chilly, so I asked our waiter if he could turn on the lamp heater. He said he would send someone over to do it. Never happened! There was another staff member walking by, I asked him if he could turn the heater lamp on. He tried lighting the lamp after a couple attempts he was not able to, he opened the bottom of the lamp where the gas tank is kept.. the gas tank was caught on fire, it had flames at the top of it. Instead of properly putting the flames out he was lightly fanning it.. It was fairly scary as the tank could have blown up. After he put the flame out someone from their repair department came by and rolled the lamp away. Our birthday dinner was ruined and our experience at this restaurant was terrible.

I’ve been now 3 times, 2 experiences were 5 star and 1 experience 3 star. The rib cap steak was amazing! We got the sea food tower twice, the first time was great but the second time was disappointing. The Brussels sprouts were super rich with bacon, a bit too salty and oily for my liking. The service has been average for an upscale restaurant. The vibe is lively and fun.

Lalo Rivels

Cool space and great food and drinks. Service was so odd though. Multiple items sold out but staff didn't know. Brought us food we didn't order and then charged us for it. Forgot to bring us food we did order. I'd go back though.

Great ambiance, the service was fast, friendly and assertive. The food quality wasn’t as high as I expected a fine dining restaurant to provide but I did like the sushi/steak combination provided under one roof. It’s a great place for gatherings, I’ll definitely come back again.

Claudine Santos

We loved our experience here. Good food, steaks cooked perfectly, crab was fresh and flavourful, dessert were massive. Wonderful atmosphere. Music was a tad loud occasionally but worked to isolate the chatter. There was some really neat decor, and I enjoyed being able to see the chefs working with the seafood. Server Matthew was a delight. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Provided excellent service. Would go back just because of him.

This is a great place for a date. We’ve came twice, once with my wife and another with my wife and my parents. We loved the food here, the service is great, the atmosphere is beautiful. There is a great wine selection and I can’t wait to come back again.

Nick Sulim

The service was great, the food was fantastic and the staff was extremely polite and accommodating. If you are looking for a view with your meal this is the place. Will definitely return.

I was trying to find a dine out menu at different places and stumbled upon The Victor's anniversary family style dinner set meal. When I arrived at The Victor, I was immediately greeted by friendly Hostesses. They acknowledged my reservation and sat us down at a wonderful table that had a wonderful couch that was decorated with comfy pillows on one side and a few normal dining chairs on the other. The ambiance was amazing with lovely music playing in the background. Our server was attentive and very friendly. We ordered some drinks and ordered the 3rd Anniversary meal. The fresh cheesebread with pured butter was scrumptious. First course was the Ceasar Salad and the Crab and Lobster Bisque. The crab meat salad was sitting in the large bowl with some seasoning and parsley. The bisque was poured on top. I found it being a little salty which masked the flavor of the lobster and crab. The Caesar was good but I have had better. The main was the 48 ounce AAA rib roast accompanied by oven roasted brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, gravy, horseradish sauce and yorkshire pudding. I asked for medium well but the roast came out rare to medium rare. I didn't really mind it but the kids were complaining it was too bloody. Brussel sprouts were to die for. Dessert was the Doughnut Creme Brule with a maple cotton candy with gold flakes. The kids loved the cotton candy so much, the manager brought them a second round of cotton candy. Overall I was very happy to dine at the Victor. Friendly staff, great ambiance and good food. With the exception of the rare roast and the salty bisque, the meal went well.

I visited The Victor for the first time yesterday, June 20th for dinner with my three friends. One of my friends loves eating here for the environment, views, and the amazing bread and butter. I ordered the Idaho wagyu burger quickly without remembering what the description said. What I received was a burger that just included buns, a patty, and some truffle sauce. It was very plain and I thought this was odd at first, but it was my first time at a more expensive restaurant so I thought "it is what it is." However, as I left the restaurant, I kept thinking about how I had a less than mediocre experience at such an acclaimed restaurant, and how it was such a lacklustre burger for $26. I then checked the menu online to read about the burger and saw that it was supposed to include caramelized onions and cheese. I was shocked and couldn't believe I had none of the mentioned in my burger. I know I should have said something sooner but that was my experience. I'm quite disappointed and really wanted to enjoy the food!

Went to this place for the 1st time Sunday night Great service & food. Drinks were spot on. Can’t remember our servers name (employee #24) he was very accommodating & always around. Looking forward to the next visits

Went 2 nights in a week with clients. Its in a casino so once you get passed that, great spot, get a patio table poolside. First time food and service was fantastic. Porterhouse was to die for as were the sides. Wine list is good but it's BC, bring your wallet. The second night the meat was overdone, both the filet and strip steak, sides were good and desserts off the chart. I recommend it but it is very pricey.

Mara Schaffler

Came here for a birthday dinner and everything was perfect from the moment I walked in. The service was friendly, attentive and quick. We felt well taken care of. I highly recommend the oysters, they were fresh and delicious. The steak was perfectly tender, and side of broccolini was very tasty. Everything we had was extremely tasty and we look forward to our next visit.

Had a wonderful brunch with friends. Not only was the food amazing but the best service. Executive Chef Garett personally came to check how we were enjoying everything. Highly recommend the buttermilk pancakes which are the fluffiest I've ever seen and the Victor Eggs Benedict which is served on mac & cheese filled waffles.

Visited The Victor for dineout Vancouver. The menu looked good, and we wanted to try the restaurant as we had heard the food was delicious. 3 of us ordered the sablefish, but when it arrived the three portions were of visibly different sizes. One person had 2 thick pieces of fish, one person had 2 quite thin pieces and one person had one thin piece. When we spoke to the manager, he dismissed our inquiry and told us that the fish gets weighed to be 5oz each. However, it was clear that these pieces of fish were not close to the same size. He then said maybe one person got extra but the rest were at least 5oz and that for 59 dollars the dineout is a good deal. This rubbed us the wrong way as we were not inquiring because of the price of the food but rather the visibly uneven portion sizes. It would have been more appropriate to address only the concern instead of bringing up the dineout value as if it was relevant. Made us feel that we as dineout customers shouldn't expect the same standard. Overall the food was alright, but we will likely not be returning.

Robert R

My fiancee and I went here last night and had the tomahawk steak for share. I'll tell you that it was incredible! Grilled to up most perfection and the service was outstanding. We had Matthew as our server and the dude was on point. If you're going here to save money, don't bother. But as the saying always goes you get what you pay for. Thanks to the hostess for squeezing us in unannounced as well. Well done!

Sophie Lussier

I went to The Victor for my birthday to celebrate with my boyfriend, our waiter cut us off mid order to attend to another table. Shortly after we put in our order two police officers arrived on scene and racially profiled my boyfriend and asked for his ID. There was multiple other tables around us with young couples like us and they were promptly left alone. After the officers found nothing on my boyfriend's ID they left without a word. Dozens of people were still staring at us, it was incredibly embarrassing for a quiet birthday dinner. I had to overhear our waiter explain to a different table that the police were gang watch. Still no explaination given to us, the only table to get ID'd on the whole side of the resturant. When our waiter finally returned I had to ask for an explaination and he brushed it off saying they're gang watch and they check young men. There was multiple other young men who were not checked. I had to ask for a manager to cancel our meal, it was a humiliating experience but we agreed to move our table to a nicer booth. I wish I hadn't agreed, I should have just walked out. Overall the prime rib I ordered was tough and the dining experience was alienating and depressing. I would no longer recommended The Victor to my family and friends. This was one of the worst birthday experiences in a fine dining resturant.

This place was below expectations for food. Room is nice but spaced out a bit awkwardly. The 'center cut' ribeye tasted nothing like a ribeye. The 'little marbling was like zero fat. The sablefish dish was good. Kale sale was pretty good. The black forest cake had odd tasting cherries in it. The white filling was too much vs the amount of actual chocolate cake. The server warned us that the cherries didn't taste right. Wish we listened to him. All in all we have no interest in coming back here.

I went here on a Friday night for Dine Out. The service was excellent and the interior of the restaurant is lovely. The food was good but not mind-blowing. Their complimentary cheese bread was amazing though!

Annie Diep

Hands-down the best steak I have ever had. Their Rib Cap is perfection. Phenomenal service. It was only our second visit, but definitely becoming the favourite place for a special occasion for my girlfriend and I. We celebrated our birthdays yesterday and had excellent service from Rio, Philip and Byron. They were all very attentive and were very careful to insure my girlfriends allergy was not compromised. Natalia the manager stopped by and was incredibly hospitable and and kind. She provided two different types of cake for our birthday celebration: a divine tiramisu and a lovely coconut cake.

We chose this place for our 5 year anniversary, as I took my husband here for his birthday last year and we were very impressed - he said it was his favorite meal. We booked a night in the hotel to accompany our choice to have dinner at the Victor. I am not sure what has changed other than Covid, but we had a terrible experience last night. The restaurant was understandably not that busy and following the Covid guidelines. We appreciated the attention to this. However, the time for our drinks and food to come out was unusually long (over 60 minutes) with no apology for the wait or check in to see how we were doing while we waited. The food, the most important thing we came here for, was not good. It was so disappointing for us. My husband ordered a striploin as he usually does and the quality of the cut was underwhelming and he didn’t finish it (a first for him). I order sashimi and king crab. The sashimi was luke warm, and not high quality fish. The salmon was farmed, and the kind you can eat at any sushi joint in the city. The crab was not great tasting and for 45 dollars - and we really don’t mind spending money for great food - I received a few pieces of overly salty crab, maybe a full leg and a chunk for that price. Not worth it and never again. Overall for 300, we felt disappointed that we weren’t happy with the dinner because we really wanted to love it. Our server, while reasonably polite did not seem really interested in providing extraordinary service. When we paid we were not asked how our meal was at all. We expect establishments like Victor to stand out from the restaurant crowd and this night it definitely did not.

Annamarie S (PrincessaMaria)

I really enjoyed their dishes. I always get fantastic customer service here. The place is neat and the cashiers are always kind. Highly recommended.

I come here a lot as I live just live right next to the building, I am finally writing a review as my experience at Victor was absolutely amazing last night. I took my friend here for her birthday and our server Richard made our experience very memorable. He was awesome! The food was good too last night. Thank you for the topnotch service.

Ruby Ng

Came here for dinner last night since it was right by the hotel we were staying at! Amazing service, beautiful ambiance, the food/drinks were not bad but a bit on the pricey side for the portions given.

Eatman

Beautiful Steakhouse!! The staff was very friendly and offered amazing service. Our family really enjoyed our diner experience here. The atmosphere was great. The food was nicely presented and tasted delicious. The Tomahawk steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It was definitely the highlight of the meal.

Wazi Dlamini-Kapenda

They have an excellent wagyu burger. This burger is as good as the wagyu burger at West about 12 years ago. Interestingly I believe that this burger is about the same price. As well the crab cake is excellent. Only one crab cake but this is pure crab with no fillers.

travis wou

Stopped by for a quick bite before Cirque. Had the burger, brussel sprouts and separate salad. The Burger we had medium rare and it was fantastic. The salad was fine, the brussel sprouts were tasty but a bit greasy. Service was ok, we had wine and water and water wasn't refilled. I'll go back to try the steaks but for now this is a generous 4.

I see a couple reviews of racial profiling here already. Saw a group of black men get the gang squad (police) wrongfully called on them. They were just vacationing in BC and minding their business. Don't eat here if you're POC.

Servers need to learn how to speak to everyone at the table, and not only pay attention to the white guy. Irritating, 2 star service.

Teodora Bosonea

Loved victor so much ! The atmosphere is very classy yet comfortable. Both the food and drink menus are amazing, with a lot of unique options and your traditional steakhouse options. We were entertained and taken care of so well throughout the entire night. I definitely recommend Victor to those who want to an exceptional dining experience with some incredible food.

Went for drinks. Did not seat us on the patio because of 'reservations' even though there was one table of people out there for 1.5 hours. The cocktails were actually excellent bu the service was slow and inattentive despite the staff equalling or outnumbering the patrons the entire we were present. Nice atmosphere and view, but disappointing overall.

First time trying this place and was not disappointed. I tried the set menu which came with a really nice cheese and onion bread starter, the dinosaur kale salad, rib eye steak and creme brushed donuts with maple cotton candy (and gold flakes) filled with vanilla custard. The food was fantastic and the ambience was nice. We were next to BC Place. The price was incredible. It was a busy restaurant too. I'm glad my friend suggested eating here. I will definitely come back again. I walked out of there stuffed.

Always enjoy dinner at The Victor. The holiday drink menu is fun and tasty and the service is always excellent.

The Victor offers a premier food & drink experience in Vancouver. It's situated on the rooftop of Parq Casino and Hotel, which gives the place somewhat of a hard-boiled elegance. In your face views of BC place, and peek-a-boo views of the cityscape, The Victor definitely passed the vibe check. Ask to be served by Surendra. He was incredible - on top of knowing the menu inside-out, he was playful, funny, and attentive to the table. Well travelled guy. Knew his wine, knew his food. The Victor is missing it's fifth star based on value vs. product quality. Some favourites: the Mac and Cheese Waffles, Shishito Peppers & The TomaHawk Steak are all seen below. The food is fantastic, but it simply isn't elevated enough for the price (Always let the guest cut the burrata!) In terms of food offerings, it doesn't strike me as much different than somewhere like the Keg for example. Seems like you're likely paying for the ambiance, view, prestige, and a bit of showmanship. Depends what you're looking for.... And if this is it, then I'd definitely recommend the Victor. Great spot. I'll certainly be back at The Victor, but less regularly owing to affordability.

Cynthia Parkes

It took almost 3 hours to get our meal and then the quality of the food was bad. They also couldn't split the bill in a large group.

Tim Lee

We were treated pretty poorly by the waiter. He basically neglected us the entire time even though he didn't have that many tables to serve. He didn't serve us as well because we didn't order thousands of dollars of with of food and wine. Food was alright! The Quebec foie gras was the best. The steak was average compared to other high end restaurants

Best restaurant i've ever been to. Went there this summer for our last night in Vancouver for our honeymoon. Excellent service. The food was of a quality I never tasted before and the presentation was perfect !

Quality steaks and service!

Disappointing in every way. Was there with a group of 15 and the food took over one hour to arrive after we ordered (were eventually given an excuse that the “chef was not satisfied with the plating” and wanted to remake). They offered us complimentary drinks as we waited but then did not actually provide for our side of table. When food finally came, I found all the aburi sushi incredibly bland, nothing like what you can get at Miku/Minami though similar prices. The service did not seem much better. Do not recommend!

I have to say that the hostess were very unhelpful and unprofessional. We had a reservation at 9 o’clock which they had called themselves and re-confirmed on the day. We got there at exactly 9 to be told that our table is not ready as other people are lingering around. We Were asked to go the lounge which was fully packed. We waited by the door for 50 minutes after complaining serveral time to the hostess and the manager who also seemed to not care at all and finally got seeted at 9:55 PM. The food was good and our waiter was lovely but sadly they’re managing and overall welcoming experience was 0.

The food here is great. Staff are always nice

What more to say.... Class, ambiance and good times with friends It helps to have a good friend behind the bar too. If you go by, ask for Jordan! Top 5 bartender in greater Vancouver. Tell him Keven with an E says hi!;) No Mickey!!

Good bisque , good streak. Horrible mashed potatoes ( instant powder , not even dissolved correctly )

Service was excellent but steak was dry and overcooked. Asked for medium rare but definitely got medium well. My gf liked the Chilean sea bass but I felt the broth was too salty

Really good food and desert, the attention was just perfect,,, recommend 100%

Great steaks served family style in uber trendy surroundings. The dining room has a glass curtain wall to the terrace that disappears in good weather. Worth a visit even if you’re not interested in the casino downstairs.

Great atmosphere, mediocre food. Came here with a group of 10 (made reservations in advance). Hosts at the front were friendly to talk to, and the coat check service was nice. When seated our waiter came around the table with two bottles of water (sparking and flat), and asked us which we would like. Little did we know that after we got the bill, we were being charged per glass of water! No wonder they kept promptly refilling our glasses even if they were half empty. If I had known this I would've just asked for tap water. $0.75 per refill of reg water, and $1.50 per refill of sparking (even if it was only half empty it still counted as a refill). We ordered at 8 pm and our orders didn't come until 9:15 pm. That was over an hour of waiting for our entrees, AND appetizers. They both arrived at the same time. I got a ribeye steak (photo attached), and it was poorly plated. The texture was also very tough and chewy. I also tried the foraged mushroom and truffle risotto. It was the first time I'd ever seen risotto look like that. I was appalled by the presentation. It looked like a plate of vomit. Unfortunately I wouldn't return here as none of the food was memorable and the wait time for what was presented to me was disappointing. Two stars only because the coat check service and people working at the front were great.

This is my 3rd visit to the Victor, as I've stayed at the JW in the same building about a dozen times in the past. The first two visits were fine, it's a really the only fine dining option in the building. This most recent visit today was exceptionally subpart, however. We arrived at 6 and placed our orders shortly thereafter. From the start we were condescended upon for not ordering drinks, and just sticking with soft drinks. The service never got better from there. The food was fine, nothing special. The truffle risotto went way overboard on the truffle, and the Delmonico steak was fine. But the issues really came down to the service. It took nearly an hour to receive our food. Then another 30 minutes for dessert, which was pre-ordered and was simply cake, which would have likely been premade in the back. From there it took another 30 minutes to get a box for the cake we no longer wanted, and an additional wait to get the check. The place was nowhere near packed, and maybe 5 other tables were seated when we arrived. I'm trying to understand where exactly the breakdown was with our overall service. I will continue to stay at the JW, but I don't see myself making the trip downstairs again anytime soon.

Waiter was polite and awesome. Food was bland steak was gross not to mention we waited 1.5 hours for our food when other tables around us got theirs.. I got a visa gift card as a gift from my work and it didn't work said their machines don't accept that but they should let customers know ahead of time. Especially since I'm from out of town. Server poured my lobster bisque very sloppy. Manager knew of issues and didn't do anything about it so we Will not come again.

Great ambience, service, and tasty food. Had the Spoils of Sunday, and everything had great taste and was prepared well! The cut of steak was a little gristly, didn't expect that for the price, so I've deducted a star for that. In comparison to The Chophouse, it's subpar. Best Prime rib is at Chophouse, even the keg's is better than The Victor's in fact. A little pricey, but definitely recommended for a good anniversary/etc celebration!

This was absolutely the worst dining experience I've ever had. Wife and I were celebrating our 3 year anniversary and wanted to try something new. First off, we waited 30 minutes past our reservation to get a seat. After placing our order, we waited another 2 hours and only received bread and water (despite asking the waiter to follow up with the kitchen 3 times over the 2 hours). Half an hour after that, the waiter came back to ask us what we ordered.... I asked to speak to the manger. His excuse was that the restaurant was "busier than normal", even though only half the tables were taken... He wasn't really apologetic about it either. The staff was snobby and rude in general. The gentleman next to me ordered the bone-in striploin but instead received the flat iron. He asked the waiter to take it back and to get him his correct order. Waiter took it back, but came back with the same dish reheated... I suggest avoiding this place like the plague and sticking with more established places in the city like Gotham's, Hys, and Hawksworth. Or Maybe Mcdonalds. At least they'll get your order right.

Went to Victor for dinner tonight. We got seated at a different part of the dining room without the nicer view of Science World this time (too bad). The service and ambience were still very good. They also did a pretty good job with Covid prevention measures. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and time there. Will return again. (Photos taken at two different occasions)

I went to this restaurant for an intimate birthday dinner. I really liked the decor and ambiance of the restaurant. The staff seemed pretty nice. We ordered almost immediately after we got there but we had to wait quite a bit for our food to come. The food was not great, I most say I’ve had better more reasonably priced burger and fries. (This is a pretty late review, this was in November 2019)

I have enjoyed every visit to The Victor. It is one of the few places where we have varied our selections — from steak to Thanksgiving to sushi to just dessert. The table bread is delightful. The service has always been friendly yet professional. And at a time when travel is restricted, a visit here makes me feel like I am travelling to some place special.

I came here by myself while on a business trip in Vancouver. Dining by myself, I was looking for some sort of conversation to accompany my meal with the staff. I don't recall my waiters name, but they weren't very responsive about what to do/see in my free time around the city (as I mentioned, I'm not from here.) My main course was dropped to the table and unfortunately I still didn't talk too much with any staff, I sort of felt ignored. A food runner named Saul, however, came over to ask me about how my food was tasting and we ended up talking about things ranging from what to do in Vancouver to me giving advice to the young man about life in general. The food was great, and I appreciate not feeling left out as I was just dining by myself. Great food with fair prices compared to some other higher end restaurants I've visited here.

I usually don't leave such a bad review but here is the deal. Phil our server was incredibly helpful he did everything he could to make our experience as good as it can be. Unfortunately the management and the kitchen weren't on the same level of attention. We got our food more than an hour late. The manager was more interested in a table in front with beautiful girls than attending us. He mentioned he would fix the problem but all that happened is we sent shots with the server to make us forget about the bad experience. In the food side I ordered a beef tartare and it came late and with chips instead of bread, yes that's what it says in the menu but where in the world is this the way to serve a tartare. Overall the expérience was poor for such an expensive and high end place. The location is beautiful and it has an amazing patio but it still couldn't create the experience we were hoping for. I will say this again, at no point it was our servers fault, he was the highlight of the night. Thanks Phil

Surendra was our server yesterday evening and he truly made our anniversary experience memorable. He was super informative, caring, kind, and attentive during our entire time at The Victor. Also, the patio is absolutely gorgeous and the vibes were amazing :) Can’t wait to come back again!

Probably the worst customer service and experience i have ever received in vancouver. Had a reservation for 5, showed up on time and we were told the table is not ready and they cant give us a time frame. nothing was provided to us, no apologies, no information as how long do we have to wait and why we cant get a different table. after keeping us standing for 50 minutes, they finally sat us inside !!! none of the managers came to apologize or give us any information about what happened. Me and my friends would never go back. very unprofessional service and rude staff.

Went to the recently opened Victor Steak inside the Parq Casino yesterday for dinner. After reading some mixed reviews and not going to the regular spots in Vancouver I figure let's try it. It was prob of one the best dining spots I have been to in recent memory for a steak. Had the Shrimp and Crab Cake as appies and we split the Porterhouse and Waffle Mac and Cheese. I wanna thank the staff there for taking time to cater to us even tho we were late for our reso. From the food runners to Matthew my server who was on point in all recommendations for the whole menu. I personally wanna thank the General Manager Grant and Manager Beek for coming to say hello and offering anything they could to make our visit for dinner accomadation. Food 9 Service 11 Location 10

Had my frnd's birthday party here and we had such a blast. The atmosphere was perfect for celebrating, the music was great and service top notch from the moment we entered the hotel. The group menu was perfect for sharing and made dinner run smoothly as food just kept coming out without having to order over and over again. Our server had great wine recommendations for pairing and they even put a sparkler on my dessert. I'm thinking this might have to be my new yearly tradition!

Tried this restaurant's outdoor dining for the first time, and it was quite confusing to get to the restaurant itself. At first we had to enter from the hotel, go up to the sixth floor then we had to walk across the whole restaurant just to get to the front. The layout was weird because normally u wouldn't have to walk through a restaurant to get seated but that was wat we had to do. Also found it weird how their were two separate sections that the sitting arrangement was layed out. I was kind of disappointed that we didn't get to sit in the main area where the nicer view was because we were stuck in the area were u could smell the smoke blow by from around the corner and also the view wasn't as nice as the other area. We ordered the family size menu which came with a soup, salad and we upgraded our meal to order the Tomahawk steak. Thought the food itself was average, but it did look nice for pictures.

Saturday, September 1, 2018. We reserved the private dining room for my birthday for 20 people. The food and service were excellent. In particular, our waiter, Mathew, was one the best waiters we have ever had serve us anywhere. The food and service was excellent. Unfortunately, there were a couple of mishap at the end of the evening. Upon notifying the restaurant of the problems we encounter, we received an email and a telephone call from, Grant, the General Manager of Victor. He was both understanding and apologized for the problems we encounter. We have since returned to the Victor for dinner. It was an amazing experience. We were greeted by Grant and each of the managers on duty. Our waiter Chris, was exceptional. He was meticulous, attentive and professional. Our dining experience could not have been more perfect. Even the best run businesses, have their share of mishaps. The important point, is how these mishaps are dealt with to ensure the customer is completely satisfied. The management and staff at the Victor took the opportunity to turn a negative into a very positive and memorable experience. We look forward to our next dining experience at the Victor!

Quite the surprisingly disappointing experience here tonight. Here for my husband’s work Xmas party and the restaurant was informed ahead of time that I am pregnant. We asked if substitutes in the set menu could be made and was assured this would not be an issue. Unfortunately when it came time to order, every request to the server was a “let me ask my manager”. Appetizers came out quickly but that was about it for the night. After clearing our plates it took nearly 1.5 hours for our mains to come. They then proceeded to try to serve me the wrong entree, a steak, twice. As much as I would have loved to enjoy the steak, pregnancy does not allow me to eat raw or undercooked meat, something we discussed several times with the server and manager now by this time. By the time they got my actual order out everyone else had finished their meals and I was left awkwardly eating mine alone. Manager came over to give me a half sincere apology that really did nothing but anger me more. Server then apologized and mentioned they would do something special for me at the end and you guessed it, nothing. Walked out of here tonight and will never step foot in again. Do better The Victor.

Tonight's experience was going to be a 1-star, the only reason for the 3-stars is because of the Manager who I felt was genuinely apologetic and tried to salvage the experience. Diners - if you are going for dine-out, please do not expect the same level of quality in any regard. Whether it's the service, the food, or the presentation. The food I had the bisque, the ribeye, and the chocolate thing. Bisque was good but the quantity was significantly less than regular, ribeye I admit I'm at fault as well as I didn't read the menu close enough (it is the Costco type cheap cut of ribeye and it was so chewy), dessert was ok I'm not a big dessert fan so won't say much about that. What really ticked me off was the service. I have never had worse service from Victor and I have been here several times. Service is normally always professional and knowledgeable. Tonight, I felt like the server just didn't care. Drinks weren't filled regularly, when I complained about my meal I was told I should've said something earlier when he asked how it was (I said it was "...ok.." after 2 bites), and at the end of the night with 12% courtesy tips not even a thank you. Victor, if this is the level of quality please do not participate in future dineouts, it is an absolute understatement of what Victor normally is.

Two stars is a stretch. Tonight me and my boyfriend went here to enjoy a nice evening as we had heard great things about The Victor. We were disappointed. They are portraying themselves as fine dining but neither the food nor the service live up to that standard. We could have done just as well at a chain restaurant for half the price.

I normally never leave reviews on restaurants, but I really needed to share my experience here at The Victor which pretty much ruined my night. Honestly pretty disappointing experience here at The Victor, we made reservations week in advance, specifying that we wanted to be seated in the dining area. When we got there the hostess sat us down at an elevated table in the lounge area (chairs were wobbly). When we asked the hostess as to why we were seated in this area, her answer was "We have no other table that fits 8, but it doesn't matter the food tastes the same and the servers are all the same". We were shocked. Their pricing and their marketing does not call for customer service at this level. After speaking with our waitress, who also got her manager involved (both very nice and helpful) we still had to wait at least 30 minutes before we even got a table in the dining area. If you ask me about the food, all I can say is "meh". I was really hoping the food would make up for the dreadful first hour of my visit to the restaurant, but it really didn't. I could've easily gone somewhere else for a lower cost, and have gotten better customer service and better food. 1 star for our waitress and the manager for their attempts to make up for this horrible experience. On a side note, our bill came to a total of over $1000. $1000 should not have bought us such an unfortunate experience at such a high end restaurant.

Suvd S

Mediocre. Ribeye steak was too tough. And they call themselves a “steakhouse”! Dessert on set menu was… donuts. This wasn’t a terrible meal, but it was a very average one. And it was overpriced. Disappointing.

The Restaurant looks great but Service was awful. I Reserved for staff Christmas party from over 2 months ago. they give me chef table called with set menu. we suppost to be there 8:30 till 10:30. we arrived 8:20 they said table is not ready we sit on table 8:45pm and everyone was excited and hungry. we got the drinks and no share appetizer till 9:45. they was bust but not that crazy. everyone was suffering. non stop asking they said 5 more minutes. finally came and waiting waiting for dinner they brought it at 10:20 and desert at 10:40 and no one eat any food and desert. its so late and no unprofessional. asking for manager they said he left already. how come no night manager. i don't get it. really awful service, poor quality food and too salty. no customer service too. i prefer spend money to redrobin not here.

Was excited coming here for the first time and overall had a decent experience. We ordered the onion ring stack and triple cooked fries for appetizers and they were both amazing. We ordered some drinks as well as we waited for our appies but didn't end up receiving them. So we asked the waiter about them and he said that we didn't order them...It turned out he for forgot about them and they were sitting already made at the bar I'm assuming because he came out with them within 20 seconds. Overall, he seemed a bit inexperienced and not very confident when he was speaking. For our mains we ordered the Rib Cap and the Petite Fillet Mignon. Both dishes were good. The only issue I found with the Rib Cap was that it wasn't evenly cooked. It was medium-well in some parts rather then medium rare. The crust on it was amazing though and possibly the best I've had. For dessert we ordered the Hot Whisky Cake and we got a complimentary Menke cake since it was my GF's birthday. Both desserts were on point and tasted great. Especially the Hot Whisky Cake.

Have tried to make a reservation at The Victor for 4 days but can't reach anyone. No one call back after I left the voice messages... What a disappointment!

My Husband and I came for the first time for Valentine's Day. The Victor opens at 5pm - our reservation was 5:30pm, so it wasn't even busy yet. Even though we placed our order before 6pm, our food didn't arrive till 6:45pm. I noticed that other tables received their food before us - even those that came 30-45 minutes after us. Our waiter was nice, but he never acknowledged the fact that it was taking far too long to receive our food. He walked by our table several times and saw it was empty. He must have noticed that the table next to us (who he was also serving) received their food before us, even though they came after us. He could have at least apologized for the wait, checked to see what the delay was for and then let us know, or even offer us some more bread - but nothing on his end. We were just about to say something, when our food finally arrived. By then, we had to rush because due to Covid reservations are set for limited time, and we even set our pay parking for that time span as well. When I was looking for the ladies room, one of the managers was standing right next to me and heard me saying to my Husband that I believed it was a certain way, he didn't even offer to point me to the right direction. When we were retrieving our jackets, another manager asked us how our visit was. When my Husband told her what happened, she seemed genuinely sorry by that, but all she said was that they would put a note in our file for this to not happen the next time we came. Didn't seem like much of an effort to make things right - and we definitely aren't coming back. Just last weekend, my Husband and I went to another restaurant in downtown Vancouver, and it made me see how bad The Victor's service was. This other restaurant, had attentive wait staff, the Manager even was helpful and went above and beyond, and they genuinely showed they cared. I would have given the Victor 2 stars rather than one, since the ambiance and decor is good, nice view in one area of the restaurant and central location, but the fact that we were dismissed in different ways has upset me.

Shonnah

All the food was extremely flavourful and tasted great, but unfortunately our steaks had initially came to us cold inside and not cooked properly. They were nice enough to bring us fresh ones, but my stomach definitely paid the price from the initial bites.

Wonderful service, food and atmosphere. Our waiter was attentive and made excellent recommendations. Overall a great dining experience. Will definitely be visiting again soon! Update: This past year we have had the pleasure of dining at the Victor numerous times, and have loved it every time. So when we had friends visiting for the holidays, we did not hesitate bringing them to this restaurant. And let me just say, the Victor did not disappoint! Everything from the ambiance, service, food and drinks was especially exceptional that night. Our server Matthew was wonderful and was on point with all of his knowledge of menu items and recommendations for seafood, steak and wine. This place is perfect for a date night or for larger groups/celebrations!

I was very excited to finally try The Victor last night but unfortunately was very disappointed. While the restaurant itself is stunning and the servers were lovely, the entire evening was awful. We were a larger party of about 14 celebrating two birthdays. We did not receive our food for close to two hours after ordering. No one touched the table to inform us of any delay or the reason behind it until we asked. They offered to give the table a couple bottles of wine but only served half the party. We had to argue to have anything on the bill taken care of, which took an additional 45 minutes, and only then did they take care of the two birthday girls’ bills. But everyone else’s bills had to be paid in full. Extremely disappointed and will highly reconsider recommending this establishment.

Cons: They messed up my order, I asked for medium rare I got rare/blue. The order took an hour to come, the steak is bland, nothing special about it. The waiter pressures u into buying drinks, the experience isn’t even as good as people make it out to be, no live performance. Overall, an ok experience, nothing that stands oht, you’re better off going to Black and Blue. Pros: Nice location, hidden, well respected establishment.

I had an amazing experience at Victor. The food, service and ambiance, was excellent! We ordered Abburi Salmon Sushi, Steak (Filet Mignon) with mushrooms & Dessert (Sticky Fingers Hot Whiskey Cake) and it was delicious. One thing I truly appreciated was the staff. Our server Bridget, was amazing. She was kind, friendly and very knowledgeable about the food, drinks and gave us fabulous recommendations. We loved the wine she picked for us! She really took her time to talk to us and get to know our likings and needs! She also brought us some samples of seafood to try out that were on special. Natalia, the manager at Victor came by our table to say hello and was extremely kind, friendly and welcoming. The hospitality at Victor was exceptional and the food was delicious. I truly enjoyed my experience and cant wait to go back!

Recently went out for dinner here as part of a work team dinner, and it was tremendous. We got to sample a number of appetizers, sushi, as well as the tomahawk steak, and all were incredibly delicious. The main course wagyu was beyond expectations, and the best steak I have ever had the pleasure of having; cooked to perfection. The desserts to top of the meal did not disappoint either, and would recommend the whiskey sticky toffee pudding to anyone.

Exceptional service, food, and experience! A bucket list item for me was to try an A5 Wagyu Steak. Having visited the Victor a few times and enjoying their steaks, I figured the Victor was the perfect place to check this off my bucket list. I had the 6oz Wagyu A5 Striploin and it was truly something else! I was a bit worried that 6oz would not be enough, considering I typically enjoy an 8oz or larger steak. But this was so rich and buttery (the fat has this butter/steak like taste and texture) that 6oz was just right. The steak was perfectly done to my medium-rare request and each bite explodes with flavour from the high A5 marbling. Truly an amazing experience. In other visits, I have enjoyed their fillet mignon and ribcap steak. Both I would also high recommend, especially with their chimichurri sauce. We have had too many appetizers and desserts to mention each, but none have disappointed us and we have thoroughly enjoyed every item we have had at the Victor. There's a certain confidence we have when eating there, we know we will enjoy the food no matter what is ordered. Service has been very professional, friendly, and warm each time we have visited. They will do their best to make sure your visit is an enjoyable experience with the best food. Definitely worth visiting the Victor to celebrate those special occasions in your life.

Everything about this place is amazing, it is such a great experience stepping out onto the terrace with the beautiful water feature and view of BC Place on the way to the restaurant. The service staff was very professional and very friendly. The food and drinks were excellent! I suggest trying the sushi, crab cakes, and steak tartare for starters! Definitely recommend.

Apparently we got the best table in the house. It was for our girls night out. We enjoyed the food and service. Although I did get an impression from the waitress, she wanted us to order more dishes. We ordered mostly appetizers to share and we all felt the pressure. We ended up order more than we need. This restaurant is in a 5 star hotel, it also reflects its pricing. Expect to pay high price for your dishes. It's definitely a high end restaurant for special occasion for regular citizens lol Because it's in a hotel, you will see tourists in their casual clothes. It's all kind of random people in there. Great outdoor patio that right beside BC place. I liked the semi patio setup that they have. The recap was perfectly cooked to medium rare. The halibut was a bit overcooked to my like. The sablefish was very smooth.. perfectly cooked. Beef tartar.. i wished it could be a little more flavorful. Avocado aburi .. really buttery. Truffle fries was satisfying. They were wide cut and soft inside. Black forest cake can be a birthday cake because it's huge and good to share... sticky finger - i did like the whipping cream that came it. The donuts and cotton candy were delightful. Remember to order a cup of coffee to go with all the desserts

I feel like this place is over rated. We came for dinner as a group for my Niece's birthday. Server was very nice and accommodating when we realized we needed an extra seat. Drinks were great. On the pricier side but that's expected as this is a fine dining restaurant. I can't remember which cocktail I had, but it was fruity and refreshing! Also shared a bottle of Cab Sauvignon while we had our mains. Food was unfortunately mediocre. We shared the tomahawk steak ($200). Large portion and great presentation. Steak itself though was unimpressive and some slices we found dry. We ordered a side of bearnaise which was good (can never go wrong with bearnaise sauce!) We also shared the mac and cheese waffles. Did not like these at all, and were suspicious about ordering these when our sever pointed out that they're "best eaten fresh and hot". They were very bland, and no comparison to the mac and cheese sticks from Black and Blue. The brussel sprouts were my favorite dish that we ordered. Drizzled with a sweet sauce and tasty. We brought our own birthday cake, which cost us an additional $3 per person. Our server brought it out with the candle and the cake was sliced for us which was appreciative! Paying the bill became a headache though. There were about 8-10 girls and our server did not split our bill for us. So our bill was a combination of everyone's drinks and food. It was impossible properly calculating everyone's tax and liquor tax. Sometimes I feel like auto gratuity results in less effort by servers. We were not impressed!

Went the for the first time yesterday. One of the best dining experiences in a very long time. Every appetizer we got was great. I had the cowboy ribeye, and others at the table had the rib cap and the petit fillet mignon. All of them were fantastic. The service we got from Matthew and everyone else was phenomenal. If I had any criticism at all, it would be that the music was too loud for our taste. I'd take off half a star for that if I could, but certainly not a whole star. Highly recommended.

Great potential, but needs some refinement. We went to Victor. I love the location and atmosphere of the restaurant. The staff were also really nice. I would love this restaurant to be successful, as it makes for a great night out. Here are some issues. Our table ordered 5 steaks, 4 of them were over cooked. Getting the temperature right is something they need to work on. I also found the steak cold when it came out, so they probably leave it to rest too long for my taste. The wife got them to remake her steak which came out fast. The steak was ok. Flavor was there, the cut was good. Would I pick it over "The Keg" steak? Not a chance. We also tried some other dishes. The only thing I remember about them is the wife complaining about the shrimp being too spicy. Overall nothing we tried really stands out. I feel that a restaurant need to have some signature dishes that you remember. Would I order any of the dishes I tried again? No. The drink menu is mostly wine. We don't drink wine. Could not find a beer to order. Would be good if they had more options for darker and lighter beers. In terms of food and drink, I would compare this restaurant to something like Browns Social house, but with a much nicer view. Would I come back? Not much reason to. In terms of good and drink, I would pick Cactus Club or some other chain restaurant over Victor. Hopefully they can come up with a better menu, that matches their up-scale location with creativity and execution.

I've never had a bad dining experience here - have been probably 3-4 times. Amazing steaks and the steak tartar and avacado roll is a must try! They also have a great dessert selection. The patio is beautiful if the weather is nice or the tables that face BC Place.

Jim Gatsonides

Amazing selection of wine and a outstanding menu at a fair price. Views from the patio are also spectacular

We had a large group there (30ppl). The dinner took about 5 hrs. The food was a bit underwhelming. One of the appetizers were California rolls, which seems a bit out of place. Main courses were good, not great. The choice and quality of the garnishings was questionable. Desserts we tried were all very rich and sweet. the size of the cake could probably feed 4 ppl. I would've rather eaten chocolate cake from Whole Foods.

Dee-Ann

Stumbled upon this gem by accident and so glad that we did! Great crab cakes. Can't wait to enjoy their patio in the summer.

Friendly service! Tasty food. Macaroni waffles are a must have.

FOOD POISONING!!! I visited the restaurant on Friday for dine out. Shortly after leaving the restaurant I had diarrhea, major stomach cramps, and vomiting. I was up all night and had to go to the ER in the morning as I was only getting worse. I found that I had food poisoning due to shellfish. And the only shellfish I had was from victor- the lobster bisque. I generally never write reviews. But in this case, I felt like I had to. This is not an experience I would want anyone else to endure. I do not recommend Victor to anyone. Frankly, I would go out of my way to make sure people avoid it as the restaurant is unable to keep up with health code standards.

I have nothing bad to say about the food . My friend brought me here after raving about this place. The minute we sat down, we waited awhile in a near empty restaurant for service. The waiter was not interested in serving us all night and it showed. We asked for bread and he said we have to order first but proceeded to bring bread out for another table who sat after us. Flagged him several times for service. We explained our disappointment of our service at the front and we got an “oh, okay sorry.”

Design Mind

Wonderfully located on the top of the Casino. Nice ambiance. They have the best Wagyu steak. Melts in the mouth like butter. Great collection of wine to go with your steak. And the lobster was cooked to perfection. Our server was very considerate. All in all had a wonderful experience. Thank you team Victor.

The restaurant is lively and a great place to go on a weekend for some fun. However the service and the food are a 7 out of 10. It felt like we weren't taken care of as we had to wait for a long time after being seated to get the server come to our table. I ordered a 9 ounce wine and he brought me a 7 ounce and when I gently asked if this was a 6 ounce glass he said no it is a 7 ! The extra 1 is on us???!!! We had to wait and beg for his attention to get a glass of water too. And lastly when it was time to pay, their machine didn't work and we had to try 6 times! (The problem was NOT our card) I personally prefer other great steakhouses in Vancouver for a good old steak. A one time visit was enough

Tiffany Lau

WOW! This place is amazing! Went this weekend to celebrate an anniversary and the staff were very attentive and observant to the notes in the booking (made over 2 months ago) We were greeted with champagne upon arrival and all dining room attendants made sure to check on us and to also congratulate us. Incredible atmosphere and unique location. The service was exceptional as nearly every host/hostess and waiter was aware of the occasion I was there celebrating. It’s all on hands on deck approach and operates like a finely tuned machine, it’s amazing. The food was wonderful- the mac&cheese waffles are a must and the crème brulee doughnuts are a staple! Natalia was an amazing host and offered recommendations and any accommodations we had. I cant not wait to come back!

Peter Au

Lovely rooftop, great service and amazing desserts witch is kind of rare ???? Ideal for business or Lovely moments! Thanks.

Amigo Jan

Food was average (steak overcooked, sides underwhelming) but restaurant is beautiful. Patio and approach are awesome. That said, Vancouver has so much to offer so for 175 dollars for dinner, apply and two drinks could of gone to alot better places IMO.

Sheida

Ate here last weekend with some friends. The food wasn't bad but nothing to brag about. We ordered the 50oz / $175 tomahawk steak. After you remove the bone and the fat you are only left with about 15oz of edible meat for $175!!! On top of that the tomahawk steak was bland and not cooked to medium as requested but more like rare - medium rare. The sushi was the only thing we really enjoyed. For the price, would not repeat.

Shane

Service, exquisite. Moscow mules, incredible. Please if you're going here to just get some cute date drinks and pre game appies get an empress Sour and the onion rings (pictured.) Tip will and enjoy!

Sai Kira

I recently had a wonderful brunch at Victor. The mac and cheese waffles are amazing. The free candy station was a delightful surprise and the cocktail cart is fun. I would definitely eat there again.

Lily Tan

Our server Matthew was extremely caring and made us feel so welcomed and at home. He tried to go above and beyond to make me and my bf’s anniversary feel special. The food and the ambiance is great.

Went here for the dineout and I thought the overall experience was worth the $45. Ambiance is smart casual where some people dress up and others wear jeans. Service was really good and friendly staff, which adds to the experience. In terms of food, I have no complaints. I would highly recommend their sushi, as the salmon aburi was really good. If you’re vegetarian, the risotto is a great option, having a nice cheesy flavour, with the risotto cooked perfectly. As for the salmon steak, it was cooked to be crispy on the outside, yet wasn’t try on the inside. I wouldn’t say I had a solid favourite or recommendations as they were all different, but I also have no complaints. The dessert was pretty good, but portions were quite large so beware of that when ordering. I’d say the Black Forest was my favourite, but my boyfriend liked the coconut so it depends on your pallet. For the normal price point, I might recommend other places, but for dineout, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend here for a good dining experience with good options to choose from.

Jessica Swiet

Amazing views, excellent service and delicious food! Highly recommended for a night out! We had lobster ???? ???? and steak ???? all to does for!!

Natalia

Great food and a fantastic evening! Excellent service and atmosphere! Perfect choice for any special occasion!

Really nice place, and nice steak and best crab cake ! Their lobster is a really nono, it’s very chewy and no flavor Their goose liver is very good! (I really like their starter ???? bread!) Surendra is a great waiter!

M M

Had reservations on a Friday night. Both myself and my boyfriend had steak, which tasted pretty good. Service was great. Only complaint I have would be how long it took for us to get our food, which was about over an hour wait.

Helen Dinh

We were there for a friends birthday last night, honestly the worst experience ever!! Way too over priced for the quality of food you get. Salmon was way too salty and chicken was way too try. There’s a set menu so options are very limited. Not worth the experience at all. Save yourself the $250 and go to Cactus or Earls!!

Marie J

Decided to dine here after the Canucks game. What a disappointment! Had a Tomahawk that was under seasoned and tasteless. And cold by the time we had our second piece (try a warm plate ). Had a very nice bottle of Silver oak cab with it but unfortunately had to go looking for our server everytime we wanted more as he kept it away from the table. Overall the night was a disappointment. Will not return. Back to Black and Blue for this guy !!

I love coming to Parq Vancouver where they have great entertainment features and restaurants like Honey Salt and Victor, The Victor is located with the most beautiful view at the Douglas hotel which I highly recommend and the food is just excellent. They have wonderful steaks and even sushi demonstrating Vancouver cuisine at its finest and also the most luxurious restaurant! Recommend you enjoy a drink afterwards at the D6 Lounge theres lots to do around

My 2nd time at Victor and it was pretty good. I really like their sushi bar salad (not pictured). Their salmon sashimi tasted cheap and farmed. I prefer Blue Water Cafe’s sashimi. Victor’s sashimi tastes like the kind you’d get at an all you can eat restaurant. I enjoyed the aburi sushi and the lobster dumplings though! The lobster dumplings were sooo yummy but you only get 3 little pieces :( I also really like their lattes. I would come here more often if their sashimi was better quality.

Went here for dinner last night with my uncle , amazing service, quality food, great atmosphere. You absolutely get what you pay for ! I had the rib cap steak it was done to perfection. I will absolutely be back ! And when it comes to a side for your stake, get the onyon rings they are incredible, like little crispy donuts !

It could have been because I was there for Dine out Vancouver but our food took over 1.5hr to arrive! No one in the restaurant (including our server) gave us any information on the status of our food, we got there at 7:30pm - by 9:20pm we were starving and wondering where our food was! Because of this experience, I am not sure I would ever go back to the restaurant to pay full price on a meal and taking the risk of having to wait almost 2 hours for a meal! Worst part is that I booked the restaurant to celebrate my wedding anniversary with 2 more couples, I have informed that it was a special occasion when I booked the reservation and there was no acknowledgement from the restaurant. I found poor customer service once they clearly do not care about making their customers feeling important (or they didn't care about us because we were on Dine out Vancouver). Additionally to having to wait almost 2 hours for our meal, we were sitting on the "outside" with only a thick plastic tarp protecting from the cold (it was -2, feeling like close to -8) and the heater stopped working! No need to say bad, bad experience all over.... no one in my table left the restaurant wishing they would go back. I was looking forward to visiting the restaurant in almost an year, and it definitely frustrated my expectations.

Horrible experience in every way! My husband's steak was blue when he ordered it medium. The server actually re-served the exact same steak after putting the steak my husband cut into under the broiler! Not what I expect for a $56 steak! The manager actually tried to argue that there was nothing wrong with re-heating a steak!! Are you kidding me?! Even The Keg has standards higher than this. Don't waste your time here!

Dan

Prime rib was so-so, rib eye was fantastic. Prime rib was dense and a bit chewy, rib eye was very tender. Shrimp tempura not the traditional style, but it is very flavorful and crispy. Reminds me of popcorn shrimp style dish. Crab cake was really good, however, the sauce is a bit too strong and it took away some of the crab flavor. Would definitely recommend eating the crab cake by itself without the sauce.

Karen C.

Been here a few times in the last few months, really great. What puts this place over the top is the service, 5 stars for that. Mitchell took really good care of us, he was amazing!

New kid on the block... Newest Steakhouse in downtown Van with great service and great food. Our server Rio is very friendly and knowledgeable - make sure you listen to his recommendation and how the steak should be cooked. We had Cowboy Ribeye, Rack of Lamb, lobster bisque and the foie gras is a must for appetizer. New fave resto :)

Amy Nascou

Christian is the most handsome server and was very attentive.

Dhana Musil

Absolutely incredible scenery, location and restaurant. Highly recommended for a nice event, or when celebrating something as it is quite pricey. The food, and service were both spectacular. I had the Breakfast Burger for brunch and it was the best I had ever had highly recommended. As well, if you go you must try their chocolate croissant waffles, never had anything quite as good as that.

Alex K C Lau

Great restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere and really delicious food. I have to say for a Thursday night the service and the time it took to get the food was a bit disappointing. Just getting bread took so long I was done with my glass of wine already so this really needs improvement. It was the only let down and what should have been a 2 hour dinner almost took 3 hours. I would also suggest sharing the dessert as the portions are very big so its worth sharing something.

Was there yesterday. First impression) 1. They were running out of prosecco, but it took about 15 min to find it out 2.Was surprised that they dont have proper glasses for white wine even and tried too poor into red burgundy glasses))) 3. Sea urchins were not the freshiest. One of them didnt even kept the shape 4. Dont remember the second corse name smth like pork chop - looked like deep fried piece of tire- torally not chewable. Spaghetti overcooked and broccoli simply burned. We just tried that and returned. And it took an hour!!! 1 hour to ger that disgusting meal... However the manager argued that as per his records it was 45 minutes))) seriously? Do not recommend this place...disappointing...

Victoria Jamieson-McCaskill

I really loved the atmosphere. It has a patio with a view of the hotel’s fountain and BC place. For food, I liked ceviche, brussels sprouts and porter house steak. The sauce in the crab cake had a hint of curry flavor and the lobster bisque was rich in gut flavor. The truffle fries I think used to be made with potatoes that were kept with truffles so the flavor came from the fries itself, but this time, it came from the condiment. Overall it was a good meal and I would come back for the steak.

Chantal Chau

We had a great time at The Victor. The beet salad was interesting and flavourful. The crab cakes were legendary. We enjoyed an incredible experience with the Waygu Beef. And topped our meal off with a memorable dessert of cotton candy, cream filled donuts and coconut cake with deadly buttercream icing layered throughout. Thanks for your hospitality: friendly & tasteful service.

Started with cocktails then the Seafood platter ($196), Beet salad, Fois Gras, Onion Rings and Tomahawk steak ($160). Washed the steak down with Silver Oak cab. Pricey but worth a trip on special occasions.

5 stars for the food and ambiance. 1 star for the wait. The dinner took 3 hours.

Ferdz Almarines

We ordered the porterhouse but we had to send it back because it was cold so that really ruin it for us. On the other hand, the sablefish was really good and tasty. One of the best in the lower mainland. If I paid for the 200+ steak, I expected more.

michael lord

I had the dineout menu and thought it was a great way to taste various items. The foie gras was good, however the sweetness in the sauce does not complement it well, in my opinion. A savory sauce would have been better. The nigiri is good, not amazing but good. The steak was grilled to perfection, but needed extra seasoning. The winner of this meal was the mashed potatoes, mac and cheese waffles (you must get!!!!) and the menkes cake for desert. The service was impeccable from start to finish. I would love to go back and see how the food is on a regular menu VS the dineout.

David Akhavan

Nothing special versus value. Service was nothing more than ok. Price is crazy versus value and service didn’t follow

Exceptional food and service. Was a special occasion for a bday and they gave us a good window table as requested and kept our reservation as we were 20 mins late. Capably rushed our order as we were late for a show. Stylish mid-century decor and good vibe with great music at the right volume. All in all a very positive experience, will definitely be back soon and highly recommend.

Ordered the Japanese A5 wagyu and was quite disappointed. I’ve been to japan, and have had wagyu on countless occasions elsewhere, but no where have I seen such poor preparation. Asked for it to be cooked medium and they served an over-charred/well-done steak with only the core slightly pink. To be honest, a 16 year-old can prepare better steak. When I raised my concern, they were very defensive and said “this is how it is prepared”. In spite of the butchered $208+tax steak, they gave us 4 prawns and a $30 bottle of wine “on the house”. Perhaps what they SHOULD do is better train their cooks. We also ordered the rib-cap, it was NOT a $50+ steak IMO. My advise is just go to the Keg and save a few hundred dollars off your bill... never going here again! Thanks Victor!

Just loved everything about this restaurant. The food, service , atmosphere and etc. The best thing about this restaurant is that they had really good sushi!!! I never thought that western food place could make that good sushi!! It was better than Minami or Miku in my opinion! :)

Food was great but the service was lacking. Basically if they feel you're not spending money freely they don't pay attention to you. What I mean by this is that alcoholic beverages they were on top of getting reorders for, but those of us who had water or sparkling water were ignored and we definitely felt under serviced even at the same table. The restaurant wasn't that busy and each server inky had a couple of tables so it probably could stand to have more training. Overall the food and ambience were good, but hopefully the service was an anomaly.

Cindy Tang

Had the most amazing evening! The food was Fabulous and the Service was excellent! Nikhil, the Manager was Awesome. He kept coming around to make sure everything was okay! Marina, our Server was perfection! She interacted with us the whole time! We will definitely go back. Highly recommend The Victor!

They stole my dinner plate!? I should have gone to a higher class steak house like The Keg. My friend and I ordered the exact same steak, they gave my friend the end cut and me the center cut. When we complained about the drastic different in quality of meat, not realizing they would actually serve us an end cut, the manager unexpectedly took both our plates to the kitchen... I was half way through a bite. I asked where my plate went, he said they were going to compare the meat. At the end of the night all we got was a round about excuse of variation in cattle (which I read as no quality control on Victor's behalf).

Desiree Chew

Whether it’s for a special occasion or casual evening out, this is one of my favourite go-to places to satisfy my beef craving when I’m not dropping by Market Meats on 4th to pick up some for home cooking. Their tomahawk looks popular as you see it constantly being brought out to tables. When I finally got around to sharing one, I found out why it’s worthy of its popularity. Full of flavours cooked perfectly crisp outside while tender and succulent inside. Had expected to be underwhelmed as most places will have it bland and just taste somewhat salty and cold because they slice it for you before serving, however, this was served perfectly warm cooked to the correct temperature especially around the caramelized fatty parts. I will likely not order this again (too overwhelming) while I would definitely recommend to others. I love their 18oz Cowboy rib-eye steak, and of course the 8oz Japanese wagyu—perfectly prepared however it reminded me that it’s much much too fatty for me to appreciate more than one to two tiny bites worth so a smaller portion would be more appropriate for a single diner unless shared. Definitely, don’t pair it with a slab of fois gras else you’d have a stomach full of fat... love their availability of the popular sashimi/sushi items such as blue fin tuna served various ways and their sushi chef(s) seem to be a grade above, say, Bluewater Cafe where sushi is also offered alongside the usual entree’s. Prices are reasonable for the quality, decor, and superb service. Every return visit was a pleasurable one. Only haven’t gotten around to figure out if parking can be validated otherwise don’t go during stadium event nights unless you don’t mind wasting $28 (?) on the parkade. Can be dressy or casual without ruining others’ aesthetics as the dining room and sun area are spacious enough to keep everyone comfortable with a beautiful view of inside and outside.

My husband and I recently dined at The Victor. As I read some of the reviews, I'm sorry to learn of the dissatisfaction from other patrons. We had an absolutely great experience. Yes, I do agree that staff seemed overwhelmed with their responsibilities, however, our waiter Surendra L. was extremely professional. We promised to come back with family members. When we do, we will ask to be seated at his section. We dined outdoors, it was very delightful. In short, our server made our aniversary dinner experience a very pleasant one. Thankyou.

The Victor has earned our loyalty for special nights out. Last night was our Anniversary and where we were initially seated was very close to another table on a bench, I mentioned it was a special night and we had reservations and within a minute the Manager Ash came over and moved us to a more private table where we were served by Pedrag, a true professional. It was an amazing meal, great ambiance and in a city littered with chain reastauraunts trying to be cool, the european service and attention to detail is so very refreshing. Thank you staff of The Victor for an exemplary dining experience.

Booked the table at 530 weekdays. Entered and confirmed my attendance at the lobby of hotel park Vancouver and was told to take another elevator to 5/F. No sign at 5/F so I walked to another glass door and saw a signage outdoor. It was raining and I need to walk in the rain for 20 meter for the entrance. The restaurant has nice decor and friendly staff. They got me seated at sofa seat, at the corner of the main dining hall. It's very comfortable seat. I ordered the dine out dinner and adding extra for rim cap. The lobster bisque is about burnt and just warm. The rim cap was asked to be done medium rare. Probably the grill is overheated, most sides (around 1/4) are burnt. The charcoal tastes overpowered the meaty favour. I stopped eating it with half of them left on the plate. The waitress was attentive enough to ask. So the manager came and said they would do another piece and provide me an appetizer ceasar salad. The second rim cap then sent in rare and still some edges were burnt. the charcoal surface is about 1/5. I suggested the grill was overheated and the sear couldn't do at the right temperature despite short period of time. I could not finish the second piece, besides it's burnt, because I was pretty much full. The dessert cloud sugar on donuts are very Instagram-able. But the donuts are not puffy and nothing close to Italian style. The manager didn't charge me for the extra cost for ordering rim cap. Just I found the kitchen was disappointed, especially when I was hoping if this place could be an alternative steak house at downtown.

D D

I ordered the ceviche taster and the surf and turf and both of the dishes were amazing. I was planning to order the cowboy ribeye but changed my mind when I was told that I had to order a side because it was only the meat if it wasn't of that it would be a 5 stars rating. Service was excellent and was able to make our night perfect.

Service: I had a course menu with wine pairing, but the main course wine came after I finished half way done. It should come just before the food comes but it came late. Food: Beet salad looks nice and taste ok, but watercress was not fresh, I had 3 pieces of yellow watercresses. Aburi avocado tastes good but little over powered by wasabi. Sablefish dish was really good, I loved the texture of it and taste of it. Truffle risotto was under seasoned and over powered by truffle oil.

Went for a birthday dinner with a group of 5 on a Tuesday night so it wasn't that busy. Food took awhile to come and when it did was warm at best. Only 2 of us actually ordered a steak, instead of remaking the $80 cut, it was reheated and sent back as is. They tried to make up for it by giving us a bottle of wine and a dessert sampler but I came for a good steak and left extremely dissappointed.

I went here during Dine Out Vancouver. Food courses were actually not as small as I thought for this expensive venue. They have a fine selection of Wine and the staff was well informed of which wine was appropriate with my meal. My meal was superb with excellent flavour and mouth feel. Table service was top quality with no hesitation to make your experience a grand one. They also possess the largest pepper grinder I have ever laid eyes upon. Think fence post.

High end steak house on top of the parq casino. The atmosphere and decor are impressive and you can feel it’s a restaurant with high standards right when you step in. Their bread, appetizers, and sides were amazing; surprisingly, the steaks were good but not great.

This restaurant is located on the 6th floor. Just take the elevator up and walk outside. There is a pond right in front of Victor. You can't miss it! To start off, we had complimentary bread. It was delicious!! Probably one of the best part of the meal! Next, we had the aburi sushi. That was absolutely delicious as well. Actually, everything we ordered were spectacular. Definitely recommend coming here. Children friendly too as I saw lots of young kids there. The staff were really nice and attentive and it was really clean. Highly highly recommend.

The Supper Club special on Wednesdays is well worth it. The staff is very attentive, very professional, and took care of us the entire time. The rib cut steak with "extreme marbling" was just okay in my opinion. Most places I've gone to, usually showcase the uncooked meat in order to show the marbling. Well I say it was just okay, I was hoping more for a marbled waygu cut, something I would compare "extreme marbling" to. Otherwise the rest of our meal was flawless. Would love to return if in the area. Thanks! ????

Came for the anniversary menu and it was well worth the $95. I would most likely recommend upgrading to the porterhouse from the prime rib.

The worst service restaurant in Vancouver. I stood at the front desk as two hostesses were using profanity at each other infront of other guests and typing wildly on their computer... ignoring us as we had a reservation. We requested a booth and they put us a table by the bathroom, where there was an unearthly smell. The steaks came out way over cooked and were cold. I guess they were sitting for a while before they came out. Our server, who was rarely seen only made conversation with us before we were about to tip him. Took 20-30 mins at a time to get attention. If you want a real steakhouse, highly recommend Hy's.... this place won't be around long. They clearly do not care about their guests and should not be in the hospitality business.

Callum Taylor

Solo work travel dinners can get pretty stale. Fortunately my bartender (Jordan) made a few unconventional menu recommendations that paid off. While the steaks still look like amazing cuts, you don't want to ignore the seafood selection here.

Alex

Dark ambience sets the mood for this fine dining spot. Food was great and while I'd suggest coming in business casual attire they had no problem letting my ball cap wearing torn denim self feel at home. Recommended if you don't mind leaving with a much lighter wallet ????

Beautiful and scenic around the stadium, it’s not the best steakhouse in vancouver but it’s certainly top three! Would recommend at least going once and on the patio!

I went here on a weeknight with some work colleagues. Some of them were flying in and the server graciously waited for them and did not rush us to order. We started off with some drinks, and for appys we ordered some sushi and the crab cake. The server talked up the crab cake as if it was something truly amazing, but to be honest it was very underwhelming. For the main course we ordered steak, halibut and chicken and everything was fabulous. We didn't have much room for desert. The ambience is great, as is the location. I'd come back here mainly for the mains - and I recommend going for D/6 happy hours next door before dinner.

Christa Wilms

Went on a Thursday evening. Looked to be about half full. On the fancy side of dining and more expensive. Filet mignon was very good along with the dessert.

Niki eberhardt

Very good food and helpful direction from the sommelier on the wine list.

Steven Radiloff

Great customer service and food, besides the fact that the restaurant is very nice and the location as well. The managers Grant and Natalia are very helpful, professional and kind. Highly recommended!

H M

Pricy and the taste is alright, but the service was great. We had the Sunday Spoils, the medium rare steak was raw and cold. Fancy experience, but unlikely I would go back.

Kevenshow Robichaud

Service was attentive. Food was ok. I just don't think it was worth the price we paid. Ambience was good though. One of us ordered lamb chops but it came overcooked and dry so we had to send it back. For such an expensive restaurant that should not have happened.

Brietta Stewart

We had an amazing time. Jesse made sure our night was special. Food was fantastic.

Dan W

Amazing food. Fantastic service. A really unique spot.

Had an excellent evening here. It is located on the 6th floor. We stumbled upon this place while in the casino, our party of 3 walked in, but I highly suggest a reservation. Beautiful decor all around. The staff was very friendly and accomodating to not having a reservation. We decided to share the 45oz tomahawk steak. Brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes were side plates. The meal started with some delicious milk bread and special made double whipped butter which was also browned. We sampled some oysters, tasted very fresh. We then had a chance to meet one of the Owners Kim Canteenwalla, he checked up on our table several times and offered a few items on the house while we waited for our main course. Blue cheese fondue with bacon and rippled chips, sorry I dont know the name of this item. Then the dinner came, 45oz Tomahawk to share. It first arrived to show it was cooked, then returned to the kitchen for the cutting. When it arrived with the sides we all dove in and devoured it. We were then taken away by the delicious desserts offered. Chocolate mouse with gold flakes, cotton candy creme brulée donuts, and another ice cream type dish with chocolate. Forget the name. Had some drinks which were prepared very well. This place gets 5 stars. I had no idea it had been open for only 10 days. They certainly have their act together. ????????????????????

Great ambience. Server was very knowledgeable and helpful. Food was great

We came to the victor with huge expectations as we heard some good things. Our bill was around $230 or something like that for 2 people. Unfortunately, what we got was not great. - server was nice. He did his best. I guess u guys were busy yesterday - we ordered crab cake and fries as appetizers to share. The cake was so salty we didn’t really finish eating it. I read good reviews about it that’s why I ordered it but honestly the flavour was so covered up by the salt. The fries were ok, but I got 2 soggy fries out of the bunch. for a $10 fries, I would expect more than that. - we ordered the sirloin steak and mushroom with 3 sauces and my main was the burger. I ordered it medium rare for both and both came in as medium. Definitely dry. We like it medium rare but being so hungry we just ate it and didn’t want to make a big deal out of it - for desert we ordered the donut creme brûlée. It was ok, nothing wrong Not sure if it is because they are still new, or the kitchen was busy, but having a super salty appetizer and the wrong cook on the steak (in a steak house house) is pretty bad. Especially for the prices they command.... not sure if we will go there again, we might just stick with black and blue or hys...

Tony Che

Went for Dine Out Vancouver. Food was exceptional. Service and atmosphere were great.

Jimmy Argenal

Perfectly cooked steak and well seasoned dishes.

Dan P

Terrible experience food was cold service was slow and drinks took forever to come. I would definitely not return back. Sad to say because we had a whole evening planned to stay at the parq casino so we stayed at the marriot hotel had dinner at Victor and went to gamble after we finihsed dinner. Hopefully things get better again so we can come back.

Ben Savage

We came here for the annual dineout van fest. The appetizer steak tartare was delicious but the ribeye steak was possibly the hardest and worst tasting steak I've ever eaten! It was so hard to cut and so hard to chew as if I'm trying to chew through leather!!! It really ruined my appetite tbh. The chocolate tart was ok, nothing to write home about and too salty to finish the whole thing! The service was a bit weird I felt as if we were not as valued and attended to as some other patrons that ordered from the regular menu! Overall I'm not too impressed with the food and service but the ambiance was nice. Not sure if I'd ever come back for a visit.

Rami Elsanady

I fell for the ambiance: upbeat and a good type of noisy! It’s in Marriott Parq Vancouver complex and shares a lot of Marriott characters. Classy hospitality and immaculate spaces. Drinks have weird names but taste good nevertheless! Salmon Aburi was a delicacy. Rolls, on the other hand, are good but not super special. They have one of the most beautiful patios in town! I’ll be back in summer.

lea “Lea” howard

First time at this place , food sooo good , try out the wagoo beef ????add scallops too ,expensive dinner????????

Max Seminov

This place is everything you want it to be. Exceptional service. Amazing food. And a great environment!

Ta Ming Peng

Best burger I’ve had in town. This photo does not do it justice at all! . . ???? Wagyu breakfast burger: fried egg, thick bacon, tomato jam, triple cooked fries . . The Wagyu beef was so tender and so juicy! It was so thick too! The burger itself was so filling already and the addition of bacon and egg was so perfect. This was so worth the $24. @thevictorvancouver .

Smart City

Amazing food. Restaurant followed the social distancing policy very well. Highly recommended.

Edric Hao

Been here a couple of times for both brunch and dinner. Every time I get blown away with their sushi dishes. I’ve had mixed feelings about their steak option though. Amazing drinks, good atmosphere, and WONDERFUL STAFF made my time spent at the victor very pleasant. Also a 10/10 view and location.

Kayla Rogerson

Really enjoyed, highly recommend. Great mixed drinks. Great steak! Nice decor, good high-end steakhouse field, touch of Asian fusion, as almost everything in Vancouver has.

Monica Thomas

Extremely disappointing dining experience. I would not recommend. They DO NOT sanitize their tables (hello covid)! The restaurant only had 6 tables occupied when we arrived. We requested to sit on the patio as well, but was denied so instead the host gave us the worst seats in the restaurant. We sat facing the communal table where all the staff gather their supplies and punch in their receipts. My date and I ordered the dine outside dinner experience and typically, you order all three meals at the beginning. As I was about to order the dessert, our waiter cut me off while speaking and rudely said "You can order that later" and proceeded to take my date's order. Food tasted good but service was nonexistent. We were never once asked how our food tasted. We waited at least 20 minutes to have water after our waiter went to "refill" it, he forgot, and so the manager had to do so (twice). There is absolutely no reason as to why our service was terrible as we sat right in front of the communal table where the staff all gather. We saw staff joking and conversing with each other, with absolute no attention to their dining guests. When the manager went to refill our water, while holding the bottle she asked us "Would you want to fill your own water, or do you want me to do it?" which made us feel extremely uncomfortable as we would expect the water to be poured since she was holding it in her hand. After an awkward pause, I said "I guess not" and she decided to pour it. The worst part of this entire experience was that my date and I saw a couple sit at a table nearby and place their used masks onto the table. After about 15 minutes, the host reassigned them to another table. Their original table was not sanitized, wiped down, cutlery was not replaced or anything! We saw in horror and disgust that our waiter simply rearranged the cutlery so it looked like no one sat there previously. Disappointing and disgusting. We will not be returning. Ever.

Jamie da Silva

Great food. Great service. Great people watching. Perfect night all around. Highly recommend..

I had heard mixed reviews about Victor, but my mom is in town and staying at the Douglas and for convenience sake we decided to try it out. When we first walked in the decor/ambience immediately grabbed my attention. Great lighting, and beautiful decor. We didn't have a reservation but we were seated right away. Now, this was my first point of slight annoyance. They had closed down the side of the restaurant with the beautiful sweeping views of false creek, and sat us across with a view of.. their patio. That's fine, its just a view. Although the table they sat us at was probably the darkest in the entire restaurant. Our server Jacob was the highlight of the whole experience. He was friendly, knowledgable about wines, and just in general had a very lovely demeanor. He was patient while my mother who admittedly loves to be chatty asked questions and told her anecdotes. He was attentive without being overbearing. Always managing to be there right as I took my last available sip of champagne. My mom ordered the half lb of crab leg and the spinach, I ordered the mac n cheese waffle and Brussel sprouts. They brought complimentary bread to our table that was DELICIOUS. It got me excited for the rest of the meal since the bread and whatever the dip is they provide was so good. Unfortunately, the bread was the best part about the meal. The food did come out quickly which was nice... but for the price was just okay. I would skip the mac n cheese waffle.. it sounded a lot better than it was in reality. A hard crust of cheese over not very cheesy pasta in the middle. They serve it with a cheese dipping sauce I think to offset the dryness of the waffle.. but it wasn't enough to mask the mediocrity of the waffle. The Brussel sprouts were actually pretty tasty, but once again at their price point I would expect them to be. My mom's crab leg was probably the skimpiest half lb of crab leg I'd ever seen, but obviously good. The spinach was nothing to write home about. Overall I wouldn't recommend the Victor at the price point. There are far better dining options if you want a more high end experience. I'd only go back to sit and have a cocktail and chat with Jacob on a slow night.

Katheryn Healey

We had been invited there for a birthday party.(November 2018) we had a reservation but when we got there we had to wait for 45 minutes to get seated. Really poor management. The steak wasn't the best that I had. Sea food was good.

supriya bhara

Very nice restaurant with great views. The bartenders are nice and recommend amazing cocktails. We went for their dine out menu and ordered seafood + inventive desserts!

Jason Dhatt

Thank you to Sevan Keurdian for helping us secure a reservation for the Dine Out Vancouver event. I tried to reach someone at the Victor for 4 days without success until Sevan came to our rescue with his promp and courteous service.

Charles Trinh

Best restaurant I've ever been to

Cameron

Food was delicious. 10/10!

Hyunsoo Yoo

I went to Victor the first time on a Wednesday evening and I sat at the bar. The food was exceptonal and I really enjoyed the sides and my Flat iron steak was so tender. No issues there. The venue is really nice walking into restaurant and the decor was really good which creates that fine dining experience. However, the service was not good. I don't mean to be critical but it really stood out on a few occasions so hopefully they read this feedback. I was sitting at the bar so I wasn't expecting a lot but they never asked me 1) how was my food tasting 2) asked me if I wanted another drink. It was a Wednesday night so it wasn't entirely busy so those little things really stood out especially when we ordered appetizers, sides, entree and even asked for the dessert menu. After flagging them down for my bill sitting at the bar, the bartender took my money and didn't even say thank you or have a good night. Took the money and went off to the abyss. It was really odd. For a venue looking to establish themselves as a fine dining steak restaurant in Vancouver, there is a big gap in service.

This place is amazing. I took my daughter out for her 19th Birthday celebration. We were treated like Queens. The service, all around from Hostesses, Server, Management top notch. The food is incredible, and catered to my daughter's vegan needs with no hesitations. A place that must be on your list to visit. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Alison Knott

Had a wonderful dinner here during Dine Outside to celebrate our anniversary. Good selection on their Dine Outside menu, with a lovely wine pairing. Service was excellent. We were checked on and asked how our meal was. Everything came in a timely manner. Social distancing measures were in place. The Caesar salad was delicious, nice and light with parmesan shavings. Rib eye was good. Black Forest cake for dessert was amazing. The Roosevelt Beast cocktail was perfectly balanced. Nice touches to make our wedding anniversary extra special. Thank you, The Victor, for the fabulous dinner experience!

Selena Chung

A group of us went to try to their 3-course dinner for Dine Out Vancouver, and we had the salmon, steak, and risotto. The steak was the best dish by far, as it's cooked to a recommended medium with green peppercorn gravy which was great! The salmon was a little bit dry and the risotto was quite a small portion and not really worth the Dine Out prices. Appetizers were Crab chowder, endive salad, and Kappa rolls, which were all good. Dessert was delicious, with the chocolate mousse or Eton Mess. Update: came back for more and the food and service was still great!

Jack Wimmer

Excellent dining experience! But odd choice in decoration (see the book about the holocaust?)

Eddie Fuentes

Went twice so far. Impressive. Ambience: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Pricing: 4/5 Service 5/5 Overall 5/5 This is a restaurant that I would consider returning at least 2x in the next 12 months. And that is saying a lot since we are in Vancouver. Long story short the highlight is the food itself. Crab cake, lobster, scallops, mac waffle, all excellent. Mignon might have been SLIGHTLY overcooked. Take your kids lover family to this resto. Worth yo money.

Fernanda Sayuri

It was the first time in my life I found a bone in my sushi. I order the spicy salmon and it was delicious until the last bite where I found a bone and had to spit it out.... not ideal. And shocking for such a high quality restaurant... the waiter apologized and said he would let the chef know and would “take care of it” but nothing was done (other than a quick apology) really shocking and disappointing. The food was all delicious but that was a terrible experience...

Chris B

We ordered the Tomahawk steak to share with scallops... all of it was served cold. The problem is the way it's served: they slice it up on a dish that is not at all warm itself and the heat escapes. The steak was also very fatty. The steak knives they provided were awful. What a joke! My friend told the waiter he was sensitive to spice, yet when we asked for a simple tuna roll it was served on a bed of hot sauce. We had to ask employees walking by for our waiter. When we were ordering dessert the waiter gave us 1 minute to glance at the menu and then hovered over until we made a decision. Very uncomfortable and rushed. I would say I'm entirely unimpressed, but I thought that our hostess at the front was exceptional.

Was lovely to go to the Victor last night , the service was awesome , good food but was VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THEY DID NOT CHECK FOR VACCINE PASSPORTS AT ALL FOR OUR PARTY . SO I FELT VERY UNSAFE .

Finkelsteins Tom

Simply put, I would come here for just the complimentary bread alone. Love this place.

arezoo abbaspour

A great dining spot with a lovely atmosphere! Beautiful views of the city, amazing food and wine. My second time coming here and it has become one of my favorite places to go. On top of the incredibly delights dishes offered, the servers and staff are very nice and accommodating. Will definitely come back again to Victor.

D Lou

Great experience overall. The restaurant is beautifully appointed and there’s most definitely attention to detail. Typical steakhouse menu, very Vegas’esque. Had a few appetizers and the petite Filet. Great crab cakes and Caesar salad. The steak was cooked perfectly, but it was just ok. Not the best I’ve had, but being from Alberta I feel we’re spoiled when it comes to beef! Would most definitely come back again.

F M

The service and food were amazing. I would highly recommend. Beautiful restaurant. Be sure to get desserts they are one of a kind.

Terps Co

A superb dining experience from the moment that we stepped out of the elevator all the sudden were transferred to a place outside of the busyVancouver streets. The long reflecting pool juxtaposed against the modern facade of BC Place is an impressive background To the Victor restaurant. We shared a set of first courses: the steak tartare to the crab cakes to the prawn shrimp each of them distinct in flavors and Rich in texture. The main course were the signature steaks, mine was a filet mignon topped with foie gras from Quebec perfectly cooked fantastic compliment to rich and well seasoned meat. Wine pairings were provided, good powerful Reds they were both noteworthy and pleasant. The dessert was probably the one area that they were lacking I opted for the Charlotte that was just a basically pastry with strawberries and some white cream filling, it was average to say the least and the one element that they underperformed. Besides that it was a great experience a server that looked like Thor from Ragnarok and a great environment for an exclusive dinner experience

Taryn Cooper

Amazing steak done to perfection. Sides were a delicious surprise too. Service was friendly but unfortunately lacking (server never came by to ask about meals; drinks did not come after ordering; 15 min just to get the check and pay). Maybe just a busy night (Sunday) but still.

Evonne Atlas

Good ambience but the price does not match the quality of ingredients used. Farm salmon, tiny portions of oyster. Waiters were not attentive, had to hail our waiter down multiple times to ask him for not only water but also to see if he had forgotten to place our order as it took forever for the food to arrive.

Mark Lavonte

Great food experience. Some different takes on some of the dishes we had. Great quality food. Definitely recommended

Sara S

We used to come here all the time and loved it. I booked the private room all the time and hosted client dinners here -- also recommended many family members to come here. However as of the last 6 months this place has really gone down hill as probably the worst restaurant in Vancouver. Service is extremely bad with long waits and rude staff. Some don't even speak english so hard to understand. We were half way through eating our appetizers and our mains came and they rushed and took all our food off the table. Half the time the wine you want is never available. Ontop of that, the sushi we had did not taste fresh at all, the crab cakes were fishy and did not taste great and my steak came out burnt. The worst part of all is when I emailed the General Manager, she wouldn't even bother to call me and made excuses not wanting to rectify the situation. For a client who used to come in every second week spending $500-700 per dinner, it was actually insulting and embarrassing for them. Their turn over on staff is rampant.... I really hope they get their act together and highly do not recommend anyone to visit this restaurant. Try Elisa or Gothams steakhouse for a much better experience.

Julie C

I am so excited to have finally experienced this place! Service, atmosphere, and food was absolutely exceptional. Highly recommended for a special meal.

Warner Yang

Venue: Lively, fun, nice decor, moderate lighting. Staff: Superb, attentive, timed their approaches well, friendly. Food: Fairly decent. The lobster bisque was rich and creamy. The tartare was so good I wanted more. The steak was tender and cooked to my liking (medium rare). The desserts weren’t overly sweet which I enjoyed. Drinks: Stiff and made right. Enjoyed the experience. It’s a restaurant that I’ve been to before and have returned to on occasion.

Letty Lee

Yesterday was my 3rd time at the Victor. The service as always was excellent. Thanks to Surendra, our server for a great service and afternoon after the sun run.

Nick Beretanos

Nice ambience, but the steak was pretty bland.

Sparsh Sood

Excellent ambiance, but, Way over priced for what this restaurant offers. Appetizers: WAGYU CROQUETTES but not much meat, Crab Cake was good Salad: BEEF STEAK TOMATO and Caesar were good but sample size for the price! Cowboy Ribeye was overcooked for medium. If you want to impress your date go to The Victor, otherwise .....

Steak was perfectly seasoned and the right doneness. An overall excellent meal - but is also priced accordingly. Expect to spend $60+ for a steak and sides.

The place is very high end and super fancy. Price is high but the food is very fresh and delicious. They don't have much selection for kids friendly food other than Mac and cheese waffle. Overall everyone enjoyed the experience and would love to come again. The downside is parking is super expensive ($30) whenever there is an event at bc place which I believe is quite often.

Ty Man

Real fine experience for me, good place to bring family and friends for a real dine out lol

Amazing food and amazing experience. Christian B was amazing, professional, and on top of our orders and drinks. Even water. It was great. Will definitely come back.

Love the atmosphere and decor. Service is top notch. Food is prepared with delicate hand. Definitely will come back and recommend anyone to go.

Top notch.

I had a chance to finally try out The Victor for my anniversary. I must say the experience was above and beyond. Our server Matthew really made our night truly memorable. His recommendation for drinks was perfect for me. Thank you again Team Victor for making this night truly memorable.

Wai So

The service was excellent. The food was mediocre and the inside of the restaurant was a little tacky looking.

Dr. Musubi

Fantatsic restaurant and great addition to the Vancouver dining scene! Gorgeous design too! Great food and cocktails!

Ricki Chandarana

The porterhouse was the best steak I’ve ever had. All of the sauces and sides were also very very good.

toffy concepcion

The restaurant is doing very well during the pandemic. Every table was occupied. They’re following the health orders quite well, one customer got up but did not wear a mask. The floor supervisor immediately told the customer to go back to the table to get a mask. Job well done. Their drinks are top notch. Old fashioned made properly, not overly sweet. Uses a single block of ice. By default they use Bulleit which would be very muted and mild, I would recommend switching to Buffalo Trace for a more in depth flavour. $21 each. They only serve you the ribeye eye portion here. You can pay more for the cap part which is more fatty and juicier. I wish they would just give you the whole ribeye like many other places. Regardless, still an amazing steak. The fries with the truffle mayo is sooooo good, make sure you get that. Overall, good food, good but expensive drinks, but it’s a casino/hotel restaurant. Not the Keg.

David Shea

Okay food, horrible service, much better places in Vancouver to spend your money. This place is a tourist trap.

Zoe Glass

Food was nothing special but wasn't bad, I'd say overpriced for what it was. Service was incredibly slow and not very good. After our drinks were empty, we were never offered another drink, kept having to get up and ask the waiter for things, dirty dishes sat on the table for over 20 minutes after we were obviously done. I stacked the empty plates as a hint after about 10 minutes and nobody seemed to notice. The delays in service resulted in 2.5 hours inside and a parking ticket when we left. It wasn't bad, but I won't be going back EDIT: After I posted this review, one of the PR staff emailed me asking me to get in contact. I did and was told a manager would be contacting me shortly to discuss and probably invite me back. Here we are months later and I haven't heard a peep. After the service we got while we were there, this comes as no surprise. I guess even 5 minutes to sent an email is too much trouble

Khalil Kassam

Meat lovers paradise. Go for a steak. Do not go if you are Vegan.

L Chinack

Not because it relates to my name but this was one of the absolute best places I've been. I was staying at The DOUGLAS and made last minute reservations. Asked for a table for myself with a view which was accommodated and was very well treated. My hostess was so lovely and walked me through the menu offering me recommendations. I ended up getting a Caesar with a T-bone steak and desert. It was one astonishing meal. During dinner I had to take a very important business call and they even worked around that. The meat was cooked to perfection and the dessert was absolutely bedazzling. Thank you very much for having me and I will for sure come back again.

WALTER LUMAMBA

service was not very sensitive to allergies, but food overall was pretty decent. I recommend the salmon steak on dine out Vancouver menu!

Evyn S

Great food. Ordered the Sunday special and upgraded the steak. The New York strip wasn’t the best but the tenderloin was amazing. Lobster bisque and sushi were super tasty as well.

Jamie Schofield

Ya... It's just alright. The Decor is nice and the atmosphere is not bad. I went there twice. Brunch and dinner. The foods were just okay. And the services were just the standard. I definitely had too much expectations on them.

Love Ssung

Great food, atmosphere and service. Would return again in a heartbeat!

Mike Price

This place is busy busy busy on a Saturday night! Luckily we managed to get a seat at the bar (would recommend reservations) The service was great and the bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. We started with the burrata and tomatoes. It was flavorful but would have been better with bread to spread it on Both my fillet mignon and my hubbies ribeye were cooked perfectly - Chicago medium rare! Accompanied by charred broccolini and Mac and cheese waffles. (Wouldn’t get the Mac and cheese again, lacked gooeyness because it’s so pressed) Overall a great date night with some fantastic wine selection! Definitely worth a try! Also, the beautiful area outside is going to be fantastic in the summer!

First experience was so so. The decor is nice. Last call at 11:30pm because of the liquor license (for now). Came here to the lounge for drinks. Very busy and packed but the waiters are very accommodating. Drinks are very pricey. Most people in the lounge are the spill over from D6. Lovely decor and would love to come to eat here and will review it again. Second experience in the dining room. Since we were a fairly large group we had great service with extra waiters. They have some really good food (aburi, steak and salads) and some not so good (salmon, halibut and soup). The fish was quite dry and the soup portion is very minimal. The steak was amazing! The sushi was reasonable. Beware the water bill racks up for bubbles or flat. Our bill was close to $200 for.... water. Ask how much before you choose as they will ask you “flat or bubbles”. I’d op for tap water as Vancouver has great water as is. Pricey but good for occasions and nice ambience. Will be back but will stick with steak.

Anthony

Great service, alittle pricey but good.

Addy S

Steak was terrible. Mashed potatoes were fine. Black forest cake was avarage. Won't come back. Wouldn't recommend as well.

The Tomahawk steak is unreal! So good. At Victor you will find wagu beef steak, seafood towers, japanese milk bread and an expansive wine menu. Great service. The dessert menu is divine. Could improve ambiance (music, lighting, ect) because it does get a little stuffy and noisy at times, I guess it depends on the night.

Randi Sandhu

Was staying at the JW last weekend. Got in late and the hotel recommended this restaurant. We went up at 8 on Friday night and this restaurant was hopping. When asked if we had a reservation and we had to say no, I thought for sure we would need to find some place else. The manger then asked if we thought we would be done in an hour and 15 minutes. He had a reservation for 6 people at 9:30, and if we could be out by 915 he would seat us. We said absolutely! Our meal was wonderful, tried the sushi and it was excellent. The servers were extremely attentive, but with out feeling rushed. We were visiting Vancouver, and would definitely look this place up the next time we are traveling through. Thank you for accommodating us!

Kristina Maryla

Great food. Great staff. Ambiance is just good. Would definitely go back

Nun Ya

Most of the food was good. I wouldn't recommend the "triple cooked fries" though. You would expect a soft center with a crispy outside but they were not crispy and had an overcooked burnt flavour. The steaks were good and so was the tempura shrimp. Our server wasn't great but the rest of the staff seemed good. He forgot to give us a sushi menu and it being our first time there, didn't know there was sushi on the menu until the server at the table beside us (he seemed much better), gave his table the sushi menu. Our server never once asked us how things were, never came to fill water without us having to ask. I would not go back.

Had a great dining experience. We reserved a quiet section which they accommodated. Our server Serendra was as professional as they get. He was amazingly courteous and personable, recommending things to us, and ensuring if there are any cocktails we request for, their bartender is very well experienced and will be happy to make it for us. When the water and wine glass is always tended to, you know your wait staff is very attentive. To our surprise Serendra gave us a complimentary tequila shot to end our evening with. Food was delicious and well orchestrated when served and dessert was so well presented and good. We will certainly be back!

Surely a place worth trying, the food is great and fresh, the cost is reasonable and it is always well organized there. Keep up the good work.

Nikki S

Great food, service during my recent visit was terrible. Talking to friends, service is usually very good

calvin chan

We ordered Tomahawk steak. it was very tender and cooked to the perfection. Great view and ambiance

Prabjot S

Very bad service from the bartenders and the seater who tells you the table is almost ready but makes you wait for more than half an hour.

AM

Small portions , mediocre food in all honesty nothing memorable, prefer Elisa any day for quality and portions . Service was lacking, waited over one hour for food including the appetizers which seems ridiculous, ended up being an hour late for D6 reservation

Really good food good size portion

Gorgeous restaurant and delicious food! There were 5 of us and everyone loved their meals! Can't wait to go back!

Helen

Great food and atmosphere but service is lacking. I don’t think the have enough servers. I asked for hit water 4 times before I got it. I enjoyed the food, we went during dine out and their it was $35 for brunch.

Mary BN

Supper club a great choice! Great choices for all 3 courses. Crab lobster bisque to start. Nice smokey flavour and not too much cream as some do. Rib cap steak had a nice sear on it and the Nellie cake?? Too big. But we did finish it. Noise level a little high.

NINA D

Staying at the Douglas and got in late and fortunately the Victor was still open for dinner. Had a pleasant dining experience at the bar. Live music had just ended and the bartender was friendly. Had the dynamite roll and the beet and goat cheese salad with avocado.

Great location and nice ambiance - worst service from our server! It was our anniversary and I’ve stated that on our reservation. We were seated beside a larger group with neighbouring empty tables all around. We didn’t receive complimentary amuse-bouche (such as bread) even though our table was set for it. We didn’t drink alcohol but did order a few bottles of sparkling water instead. We ordered the seafood tower, the cowboy ribeye, and a few sides - the food was nicely prepared. The seafood tower came with a number of shellfish that needed to be cracked/pealed, and it was accompanied with a small shell bowl per person. Mid way through, our bowls started to overflow with shells - Our server, seen chatting it up with his fellow servers 12 feet away. We tried to make eye contact and even asked other servers to assist. They said they would flag out server for us. Our shell bowls became so full that a manager arrived 45 mins later and offered to take care of it. We also had to refill our own waters as again, our server overlooked from the comfort of the centre of the room mingling with other coworkers. The only real hospitality received were from the kitchen staff who were on point with their attention to detail when setting the food down and plating the food for us, and of course the manager taking away our overflowing bowl of shells. To say the least, that is my first and last visit to The Victor. For the amount spent in 1.5 hours, I’d rather spend my evening paying for delectable cuisine and attentive service. The bill just over $200 (not including gratuities).

This is my first time trying this restaurant. Overall I had an enjoyable experience. First of all the atmosphere was great, the decor was very trendy, they have live music, the restaurant looks out to a fountain and it’s also parched up on the second floor of the casino in the middle of downtown. The downside is that it can get loud at times and also parking is $25 for the night after 5 PM. The food was excellent. We ordered the dual foie gras, the foie gras was fried perfectly, crispy on the outside and still soft on the inside. We also got the crabcake which I think was a great value. It was more like a crab mound and the sauce that came with it complemented it really well. We also had a good selection of oysters. I also have to mention that their bread was well done. In fact we asked for a second helping in between our appetizers and mains. For mains we got the braised short ribs as well as the ribeye cap. The short rib was super tender but got a little bit dry on the outside. The ribeye was done to medium rare and the potatoes that accompanied it were super crispy on the outside. For our sides we ordered the macaroni waffles and the onion ring tower, these were both of their signature sides. The macaroni waffles were really worth a try, they were crunchy on the outside with some of the crispy cheese, the inside was soft and a bit gooey. The onion rings on the other hand were just alright even though they are done properly. It was a breaded coating on the outside which stuck to the onions throughout, however It didn’t taste like much and was a bit dry. The mustard sauce that came with it though actually went better with the macaroni waffles then the sauce that came with the waffles. While all the food was done really well, service that night was rather slow. It took half an hour until our server took our order, and in between our appetizers and mains was another 45 minute wait. The entire dinner took us three hours on a Tuesday evening. Our server though was friendly and personable. We had a good evening nonetheless, but will definitely make sure to check on our mains sooner next time.

Service and food times are just terrible.... Food isn't great either, disappointing. I would say all the negitive reviews are 100% accurate

It’s about time Vancouver had a restaurant like this. Everything we had from the bread to the tomahawk steak to the sushi was delicious. Definitely a great place to go for celebrations. I recommend grabbing a few drinks at D6 on the patio first and then heading to the restaurant for dinner.

Ren N

We've went to Victor for brunch and sat at the bar to watch Raptors game. Steak and Eggs were exceptional! The meat was extremely tender and my boyfriend's chicken waffles were really crispy! Our bartender Mary was very pleasant and friendly. She offered us complimentary smoothie tasters as she just made them. Oh and the live music! Either way, definitely will be back!

Iman Khodaei

The food was great (the steaks fabulous - go ahead and order the trio of sauces, it's worth it). The server recommended the crab cakes and he was spot on. Friendly staff; very accommodating. Quite enjoyable.

Alex D

Foods are average, steaks are overcooked, missing orders, missing servers, the whole table goes with empty cups over 15 mins. Jobs under union seems chill n good tips.

Victoria T

Crab cake was super good, I had the fattiest cut of steak and it was not bad

gurp rai

Just an overpriced north American food. For this price range food supposed to be exceptional, and it's just mediocre. Definitely has room for improvement. Views and service were good though.

Nancy Deol

Excellent steak, with some of the best sushi in town

Martin Gee

Came to the Victor as part of the dine out menu. Like others have mentioned, service is not as good if you order off the dine out menu. I was not very impressed with the plating and the steak. Looked like it was just thrown on a plate. I have been to this restaurant before and it hasn’t been like this. Skip it if you’re ordering off Dine Out menu

Jason S

Excellent food and service. Early bird (before 6pm) 3 course special is a great value. Beautiful restaurant.

L S

We dined out here on February 14, it was a busy night and our server, Surendra L., made sure that we are well served. He explained to us the menu for the night as well as what is in the regular menu. He answered all our questions and made suggestions. We were surprised that he remembered me and my husband dining there last year for our anniversary. He was great!

Orit Katzov

We had a group of 10 dining. Service was great (Matthew was extremely attentive), although our food took around 75 minutes to arrive, and was mediocre at best. We were compensated for our wait with a tiny amuse bouche after 60 minutes of waiting, and a bottle of wine (given we'd already drank 4 while waiting on the food). All in all, somewhat content, although the 18% auto-grat was then added to the bill. I agree with an auto-grat when service is perfect, but not if there is any issues. The manager Fraser was terrible to deal with. He indicated that in removing the auto-grat we would only be punishing Matthew as he would be tipping out 7% to house/kitchen, and that was non-negotiable; I suggested I tip 11% and he forego the tip to the house. Fraser made very little attempt to better resolve the situation, and succumbed to removing the auto-grat - we tipped the equivalent to avoid Matthew losing out as it didn't appear they would take care of his interest. An evening ruined by a poor handling of a situation that could easily have been resolved with a better approach. And for the price range I would expect a well cooked fish rather than the dry halibut I was served - although perhaps it sat under the heat lamps waiting 15 minutes for the full order to be ready...

The Victor is Parq Casino's take on a steakhouse. My sister and I took my family here for our father's birthday. The staff was friendly from beginning of the meal to the end. For what you pay for, you get a decent portion of food. There is a good variety of appetizers and entrees to choose from with an extensive list of steaks and seafood. The endive salad was a great hit across the group. I've heard great reviews of their fries but didn't find them to be that great. Their steaks were well prepared though. They had mixed up the level of doneness between my dad and my fiancé's plates though. We brought a cake as well to celebrate but we're not told that it would be a $5 cake cutting fee per piece so I was surprised when I saw this on the bill. Overall an alright experience.

Paul

Steak was undercooked. Otherwise very pleasant great customer service.

As I live across the street, The Victor has been a favorite restaurant of mine that i frequent weekly, so naturally I decided to bring my mother here for her 65th birthday. I tried to make reservations but they said it was full and to come in on waitlist and it'll get taken care of. We came in in 7:15pm. It is now 10:15.... I've sat my mom in the lounge and ordered food. It's fine for a normal dinner for me, but not comfortable for her. We have seen 4 party's WITHOUT reservations get seated in the dining lounge. I saw someone "grease" a host to get a table....I even asked a group beside me if they had reservations as they got seated in the restaurant. Nope.... and they were able to switch from 3- 6 people without the blink of an eye. That is where my problem lies... it was my fault for not making reservations earlier, but when others are accommodated first because of money or status, that is NOT ok. Food is great, but this situation has left me ridiculously irate and I feel horrible for recommending it to my mom on her actual birthday.

Stuart Ballard

Love this place. So amazing view. Thanks for your services, especially 2 staffs - Helen and Kelly . They greeted me warmly and served me attentively. Also, food and berverage are awsome. Your restaurant is deserved to be a upscale one in downtown Vancouver. Hope to see ya again.

I call this marvelous place once a month as I enjoy the ambiance that is outline this restaurant. The team is extraordianrillyremarkably helpful and professional. The service is awfully efficient. Needless to say, the food you get is excellent. I ate there many times and I was always joyful. The rate is fair. I suggest this place to to everybody.

Erin Truesdell

We’ve been here multiple time, every time it was really good except tonight, mash potatoes are really salty and steak is cold. I’m very disappointed, was kinda excited to be here.

"Premium Farmed Salmon" What a shame, despite Incredible atmosphere, first class service, I was positively shocked that management tried to convince us that the FARMED ATLANTIC SALMON - served in large portions in the sushi bar sashimi salad was on par with wild salmon.....SERIOUSLY? I could barely believe my ears and when I was sincerely told that what was on my plate was the "farmed salmon of today - the new improved kind - and not the farmed salmon of yesterday". We continued a civil discussion, but I respectfully disagreed and asked the server to consider where the fake orange colour of the farmed salmon comes from. Do a simple google search and you will soon find it comes from a carcinogenic dye, the same used in fake suntan booths. Farmed salmon flesh is always a dingy grey, this comes from the cheap pellet feed, often pesticide and heavy metal laden fed in cramped disease ridden cages. It is not a substitute for the natural nutrient rich and pink shrimp that wild salmon eat and get their colour from. While it's true much of what is considered sustainable seafood now comes from farmed sources - shellfish, seaweed etc...and this is the future .Farmed salmon, particularly here on the west coast is very controversial. If anything farmed salmon conditions have gotten worse, not better. It's a growing and cumulative problem theatening the few wild stocks we have less of. Sorry, but an incredible high end restaurant should not dare to substitute cheaper, inferior, controversial and scientifically proven dangerious alternatives in their food. I don't consider myself a particularly educated or picky diner, but even I know enough not to eat farmed salmon, especially here in BC! The menu item was a mere $16? I would have happily paid more if it was premium wild. Without regulated and enforced standards to reduce harmful and chemical additives and less environmental impact processes -waste and parasite removal or closed pens - which is not being addressed - farmed salmon has no business being on a 5 star restaurant menu and it is shameful staff would be insistent in trying to convince me otherwise.

Even though the food is not bad I still need to give this place one star. We were a party of 5 and we had a reservation at 9 for the patio. We showed up sharp at 9 but had to wait until 10 to be seated. After an hour of wait they finally gave us a table inside not on the patio! What’s the point of making a reso when you can’t even manage to accommodate ? Def our last time dining there! Worst service and management as even manager simply said sorry ... essentially not caring about customer service or experience. So much for fine dining ....

Esther Liang

Most awful service I have ever experienced at a restaurant - and it is not even such a cheap place. - Although we had reserved a table (for 2 at 19:00), there was no table available when arriving, and had to wait for a table to become free, together with 29 other people (counted them) waiting for their table, completely filling up (and blocking) the entrance of the restaurant. - After finally getting a table nobody came to take a food order. It took a full hour before we finally were able to get the attention of a waiter to order food. - After we finished the food nobody came to ask whether we wanted desert or something else so we just asked for the bill (wasn’t easy to get the attention for that also.) - The bill together with a credit card reader was dumbed on the table, and the waiter left. I did the payment by credit card, and in the end teared of the customer copy myself and left the machine on the table, as the waiter was not coming back. - To top it off, my dining partner did not finish her food, as she said it tasted bad, and then early the next morning texted me that she had been awake most of the night with a stomach problem. Tip: avoid this place. EDIT: following my review Victor asked me to contact them by email. Which I promptly did. However, as I should have expected based the experience in the restaurant, they have not replied to the email they asked me to send to them.

Nick Fontaine

Service was really bad. Food was horrible. Halibut was undercooked. Steaks looked pretty disgusting and i wasnt the one having steak. Staff needs to be better trained. Busser took away bread plates before we got bread. When food arrived 4 food runners stood around the tray of food trying to figure who gets what. Server was barely seen. Our party does not like to complain and wont be going there again.

Jacquie Prokopanko

Very disappointing experience.......I went there for celebrating my birthday with friends and family. I made a reservation a month in advance. when we arrived at the resturant we told the girl who gave us the table about the birthday and asked her talk to kitchen to put candles on the desert. the desert was served without no candles!!!!! when we asked her about it she said I forgot about it and you should have asked the waiter for that!!!!! she was so rude. she even didn't apologized for that.I will never go back there. Terrible customer service.

Greyson Wang

The food and service was amazing. Everything was fresh and delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try the rest of their menu (:

Rob Z

Originally a bad experience until the general manager personally gave me a call and apologized. Really boosted the impression I had, and we’ll be attending Victor again to see how it measures up.

Great cocktails, great view I'm telling you, you should go too! I went here with my fiancé to check out the location for our after party in case the restrictions are lifted. When you walk in you can feel the classy vibe right away. Their staff welcomes you at the entrance and are of great service. I must say I was pleased with the prices for such a nice location. Definitely worth the visit! If you have a big appetite, or are with a bigger group, I can really recommend the tomahawk steak ????

Melissa

Matthew was attentive and patient with us all evening! The tomahawk was super delicious and cooked to perfection and the uni tacos were so sweet. Their signature Moscow mules are very refreshing and their extra spicy caesars on point. Great experience both times!

Came here at the Victor for the Supper Club menu. Highly recommended. 3 course meal for $49. I had the lobster bisque, ribeye and menke's cake. The steak actually tasted better than Hy's steakhouse which I paid $140. The Victor also have lobster tail on the side for much cheaper price.

Bee Virk

So, my friend and I went to Victor due to a recommendation of the DOUGLAS concierge. When we arrived everything was perfect. The hostess said they had a table ready for us then this man came to the front desk and told something to the hostess and kept us waiting for 30 minutes at the bar. We ordered some cocktails to kill some time. Bad cocktails though. It was until my friend went to the front desk and asked again for the table that they remembered. When we finally got our table ready, there were several tables empty, I was really hoping the food would be overwhelming. I ordered a steak and wine. Steak was cold. Wine good though. I have to recognize that the waitress was really nice and obliging.

First visit, and we will be back! Vancouver's newest and hottest Steakhouse has hit Parq Vancouver, and you best get a reservation while you can! With views that are worth a million dollars and an impressive wine list, this new 5 Star venue is the place to be! We decided to have a sushi night, and so we sat at the Sushi Bar. Head Sushi Chef Kevin and his rising star Sous Chef Kazu work their magic and present a delicious and artistic array of old and new. We stuck with things we knew, but our next visit will be more experimental. One of Chef Kazu's own creations is a vegan roll called "My Wife's Favourite Roll", which comes with a house-made Sesame Sauce and it's divine! Complimentary Japanese Milk Bread (with Gruyere and Caramelized Onions) is served with a mouth watering brown butter, even if you are not a bread eater, you have to try it! ;) Our Server Dustin was top-notch, explaining the dishes and answering all our questions. It's always a better experience when your server knows each dish and understands sushi culture. so a big thanks Dustin. Famed award-winning Head Chef Kim Canteenwalla, was doing the rounds and was kind enough to come over and introduce himself. We spoke about Vegas, Andiron and moving to Vancouver. While we were only eating sushi on this occasion, we will be back to try his famous Steak and Seafood!

Dawn Lucas

Great service, food was delicious. Loved the ambience.

Worse experience, very messy service, we spent 500$ for dinner for 5ppl, that was a big mistake, it's a nice restaurant great environment, food is not bad with worse service ever, NOT RECOMMENDED!!

Angelica Fong

Fraser P was our server and I cannot express how above and beyond he went for our dinner at The Victor! It was our first time and he gave us all the right recommendations. He's excellent at picking wines and steak as well as making the time fly by! The food was amazing and so was the service! I highly recommend going on a week day so that you can experience more intimate vibes for those special occasion type of days.

Zlatko Milosevski

Worse restaurant experience ever and I would definitely ask all my friends and family not to go. 1. I ordered a coke and the waiter even confirmed that I wanted a coke cola but ended bringing me a Pepsi and then told me they don't serve coke 2. Bread wasn't served until we asked for it 20min after we ordered. 3. Ordered a Tomahawk medium rare and when it came it was mostly medium (1/4 was even well done). So asked the server to come over and told her it's not medium rare (usually restaurants would apologize now and say they would make another one) but our waitress asked me if I have actually tried it and maybe it tasted medium rare. I told her I didn't have to try because it definitely didn't look medium rare. Then she said maybe it's the lighting and asked me to use flashlight on the steak and check the color again. 4. Finally waitress took the steak back and the manager came over. The manager was nice and kept apologizing. However, she said sometimes mistake happens and steaks get overcooked (i believe medium rare to medium may be just overcooking, but medium rare to well done definitely is not just overcooking). If I'm paying a premium to go to restaurant like The Victor, i definitely expect to have a steak cooked to my request. The manager said they can make another Tomahawk but need about 40min and kept asking if i wanted some other steaks. I don't think it takes 40min to cook a medium rare Tomahawk but of course I may be wrong. But i just feel that they shouldn't make mistake when they are charging a high price and then ask customer to wait another 40min for a new steak.

I'm not sure how I feel about this place as it is great, and subpar all at the same time. Ambiance and decor is great. The server I have mixed feelings about; he was VERY professional, very knowledgeable about the menu and his recommendations were good, but he was also very impersonal...seemingly arrogant. It was also very odd how much attention the table next to us was getting (obviously a lot of money there); their swooning was embarrassing. Food was for the most part amazing, but in moderation and with some caveats. The steak was perfectly cooked and melt in your mouth, but a tad too fatty. The brussel sprouts were ok, the whole table found them overwhelmingly salty. Mac and cheese waffles were very good, but heavy and greasy; I would only eat 1 (4 to a serving). Pretzel onion rings were delicious, but again, just too much. Crab cake was also amazing, but seems a bit overpriced. We were overstuffed but decided to give the whiskey cake a go on the recommendation of our server; that was flat out amazing. Strangely my favorite part of the meal may have been the latte I had with dessert; they make a mean latte. I don't know that I would go back with so many other options but it's worth a try.

Gursewak Dulai

The uni Taco was average, the bluefin tuna was also not very fresh. I would stick to eating steak here. Ordered the American wagyu ribeye 16oz and the bone in ribeye 20oz. Both cooked very well. Brussels sprouts were too salty. Made a note with the waiter and surprised they didn't waive the cost.

Colin Jung

Wait for a long time for our food. Food was just average, not too impressed

bit pricey but holy smokes it was worth it. best steak i've had

Navi Kaur

Unbelievable service and exquisite food. The restaurant has a medium size menu, so not overwhelming for decision time. The is a lounge to visit after dinner with a great vibe and super relaxing seating and service. The meat is all local, grass fed and a lot of local ingredients. Super accommodating chefs for people with who need revisions to there meals.

Nilda Rivera

The wife and I went here for a nice dinner before a football game at B.C. Place, the fact that this is right next door makes it really convenient. The food and service was amazing! This is definitely a go to place for whenever we're in Vancouver. Go have a meal here you won't regret it!

Samantha Nguyen

Food is good depending on what you get. I like how they cook thier Tomahawk steak, better than gothams. Tomahawk is good, Scallops are good, Kanpachi is good, Uni is good, but small portion. Oysters were not good here would not recommend ordering them.

What a delicious and lively place to eat. The steak is one of the best I have had ever, the rib cap, and that says a lot since in a Texan that is always searching for a better steak. The seafood was also quite good from what I had. The have fresh never frozen king crab which tasted like crab instead of the flavorless spongy meat. Great wine selection too. Downside? Not a cheap dinner.

Andrew Nguyen

Ordered Dineout Menu: Lobster bisque comes in big bowl/plate with soup comparatively little, meat is a little charred and lonely with 2 pepper chilly, taste is good. Dessert is awesome though I am not a dessert person. Service is excellent; if noise level be corrected with better acoustic design (we could hardly hear each other), will be a perfect place for a nice dinner.

Sir Zalka

My wife planned my birthday dinner at Victor. She was told that it would be a set menu for 10+ guests. Due to covid and the severe weather a few of my guests were unable to attend leaving us with a total of 9 guests. Despite having email communication from Victor "as seen in the picture I uploaded" stating set menu for 10+ guests they inforced the set menu on us, saying " the food had already been prepared". How can a restaurant "prepare" food when we haven't even ordered from the set menu. The options (croquettes and tempura) for the whole table off the set menu were not even provided to us, the set menu started from the starter option onwards for us. I ordered the ceaser salad as I am a huge fan of that salad, and I was beyond disappointed it was definitely the worst ceaser salad I have ever tried. They were all hard end pieces. The dressing was scant. For a main I ordered the salmon steak which I found to be overcooked dry and chewy in texture. For Victor to be considered a fine dining restaurant I was beyond disappointed. I get better service at McDonald's. The waiter did bring the manager " or someone I assume to be the manager" and despite verbalizing our concerns we were told nothing can be done. We definitely will not be dining and spending our hard earned money at Victor ever again. Stick to gothams, hys steakhous and Elisa for the best service and fine dining experience.

Poor Management, Highly not recommended.

Stopped by on a Sunday for their special prime rib family feast for two which comes with Caesar salad, lobster and crab bisque, Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes, mini Yorkshire pudding, and 24oz prime rib. Located on the sixth floor, we had a bit of difficulty finding how to get to the restaurant until we followed the signs inside the Parq hotel. Nice looking patio which probably looks great at night with the lights from BC Place next door. Tables are spaced out well and very attentive service. The meal was amazingly good. While not a fan of the chickpeas in the Caesar salad (hard to pick up with a fork), the aroma of the bisque was nice. The caramelized Brussels were coated with a slightly sweet glaze that we delicious. I'm not a fan of Yorkshire pudding but the shift and airy ones they had here just melted in your mouth. I took our server's reco and took some of the fat and gravy from the prime rib and stuffed it inside the yorkie... So delish. Prime rib was nice and tender with some char on the outside. Overall, impressed with the food and service and would come back to try the rest of their dishes. Tip: prime rib only available on Sundays.

Visited on Jan 2nd reservation was around 8pm and we were blessed with an Amazing server named Philip! He was awesome, he explained the food options to us and made some great suggestions. We each had the Rib cap steak and it was perfectly cooked. Devine! We also chose the black forest cake as dessert and that was also a great option! If you haven't eaten there yet, definitely put it on your list!

Love the patio view, really nice experience. Food was really fresh, seafood and Char Octopus were well seasoned. We also had Sushi which were amazing, very light, not too much rice.Service was outstanding. Expansive but you get what you pay for.

Recently went there for a nice dinner and the food was absolutely fantastic. The top round steak was possibly the best I have ever had. The waffle fries were also quite good; and, very filling. Our server was very quick and polite. Overall, my impression of the restaurant is verfmy good. I would definitely recommend it for a night out with anyone.

I had the most amazing brunch experience at The Victor today. Garrett prepared the most delicious, fluffy pancakes and Mac and cheese waffles for us. Grant was very attentive and helpful and our server was phenomenal. We were a large group and taken care of very well! I would definitely recommend the Victor egg Benedict ????.

I usually do not make contributions that are under 4 stars but this place warrants the review. We went to the Victor with a reservation for 5:30 to later go to the hockey game at 7. They asked us upon arrival if we had plans to go to the game so they could make a note for the chef. We were seated in a lounge area where the tables are low. I wasn’t a fan of this as we were hunching over to eat our food but I tried to keep an open mind. Our server was lovely but service was incredibly slow. Getting a drink took at one point 15 minutes. We ordered a soup which came really fast but our entrees took upwards of an hour after placing the order to arrive at our table. At that point it was 6:45 and our dinner wasn’t ready and we were going to be late to the game. Our steaks came rare when we ordered them medium rare and the sides were not really great. At one point our server stopped coming by because they knew we weren’t happy with the service or food and they kept apologizing Do not waste your time and money. The food wasn’t good, service was slow, and prices are incredibly high for what you get (taste and experience)

Daniel Hsieh

Everything was great. Definitely will visit again.

Decent food, good cocktails, hip crowd. Can get overly loud on certain nights but some people may like that?

My boyfriend took me for my birthday dinner and it was absolutely amazing. Atmosphere was very authentic as well as classy luxurious vibe. I loved the color choices into little details of the interior. We ordered the wednesday special Old bay seafood boil. Lobsters, shrimp, mussel and all of the seafood was very fresh. Delicious!???? Our server Pauline was very polite and helpful. Thank you so much for making us such a good memory! Birthday cake was yummmy???? I would love to come back for sure????????

Nick N.

My husband and I ate at the Victor last night. What a wonderful meal. Our Steak was absolutely wonderful. The Ceaser Salad was wonderful and my husband thought their Onion Rings were the best he had ever had! Our waiter, Matthew was attentive and informative. We had eaten there almost a year ago but will be back sooner. Special meal and special place.

Kingston II Hendrik

Great service and food only lost 1 star due to value. We got the set dinner with upgrades on both steaks but we all could haven't eaten at least 25% meat ????

Lily Ma

The restaurant had a great atmosphere but we felt very rushed with our order. The staff was quite accommodating for the most part however at one point I almost felt like I was being harassed to order a particular menu item as our server came back 5 times asking about it. I was not pleased by this especially from a higher end restaurant.

Greg Yoshida

Quite honestly the worst customer service I’ve experienced in Vancouver. We’ve been here many times for birthdays and other special occasions and have always been disappointed. Ultimately it’s on us for coming back and expecting different and I think we’ve hit that point. The last time we were here we ordered the Tomahawk and it came out FREEZING cold because they cut it and forgot to bring it out to us. They didn’t do anything about this. Today we stopped by the restaurant to prepay for a dessert for our friends for their 10th anniversary and they completely forgot to bring it out. They called our friends an hour after they left to let to them know we had ordered and prepaid a dessert for them but they never received it. This is the last time well ever visit this restaurant.

Meat dish was okay. Service was good. But please please please stop serving the aburi. Overpriced and doesn’t taste good. I know I shouldn’t be ordering sushi in a well known meat restaurant but I really felt like it was a money grab.

Group of friends and i came to the victor for a birthday dinner in the private room. Service was extremely slow and food was non edible. No one at the dinner enjoyed their food or even finished it. Privately messaged The Victor through email but have not received a response and its been almost 2 weeks ! Completely disappointed with this "posh" restaurant. Don't waste your money here. Gothams or hy's serve better food.

Everything we got was delicious - we shared the ceviche sampler, hamachi nobu style, salmon and mac and cheese waffle. It's really loud in the restaurant and desserts were just fine, nothing spectacular...so fill up on savory, go to Honey Salt for sweet.

Wow! This place is super cool! We went here for Vancouver dine out and found a fantastic place to eat and chill. Such a great environment, staff super friendly. Little on the pricey side but well worth it! I recommend going once a year or everyday! Went again because we just had to come back! I had the rib cap cut was amazing best steak I have ever had! Our server Matt was awesome, he knew everything about out dish and the wine! Highly, highly recommend this place! Top notch place for sure!

Was very good. Very nice high end steak house. No problems with service or food. Be prepared to spend $100+ per person

Dinner took 2.5 hrs even at 8pm... They tossed my left overs and had to give me something else. Wasn't awful but was definitely expecting more. Was left disappointed for sure.

Nessa Le

Super slow service. 1.5 hour later food was still not being cooked. We left it was painful and kids hungry.

Nathan Plesa

The restaurant looks great and fancy but Service is awful. The prices of food is way to expensive for what you get. THE FOOD IS NOT GOOD AT ALL . I got chicken dish which was tasteless and bland for 45 dollars. My boyfriend got stake which was very under cook for 50 dollars. Over all very expensive for what they offer. I could of gone to white spot and gotten better food for half the price. When u go there do not have high expectations, or have no expectations or just do not go to this place for great/good dinning experience.

Wesley Wang

Their steak game is on point. The other stuff on their menu is just okay, but that's fine by me because I usually tend to get steak when I go to a steakhouse anyway.

DOVF 2020: service was great but the food.. not so much. Lobster bisque didnt looked appetizing and it was not as tasty as i thought. The mango chili roll was alright but i dont consider this as an appie. The steak tartare wasn't fresh because my allergies started. The steak was good even it doesnt come with sauce and the plating was boring. The beef short ribs wasn't good at all. Very strong taste but not good. The chicken was good and tender. The coconut mousse wasnt a mousse because it was a cake, not fluffy and not sponge cake. The mousse was so hard to spoon all the way through. It should have been thawed longer.

Beautiful decor and great customer service, very friendly. Oh and yes the food was awesome! Tried their chicken, wish I had room for more!! ????

For the price of the New Year’s Eve gala menu, the food was not impressive. Disappointed with presentation, quality and taste. Crab was dry, too much sauce on the steak, sea bass was fishy and dessert didn’t seem freshly baked. I barely touched the chocolate cake. They can be excused for forgetting our drinks order but we were not quite happy with the food. No plans on going back there!

Al Kashani

What a great experience, special thanks to Matthew, Ken, and Avi who treated us and made us feel special, cheers!

Totally not worth the price. Ruined New Year's. So the price was 150CAD per person (not including liquor). The menu is on the picture The lobster I got was in quite a disguisting sauce. The server asked whether I am enjoying it. I gave an honest answer no. He tried to make an excuse for the sauce and did not offer to change it. My mom got some pasta that you can eat for $10-$20 at other places and my dad got a meatloaf, again, quite regular. Then I went to the washroom. They didn't bother hiring a full-time janitor, there were napkins and paper towels all over the washroom. Quite unacceptable for $150 + tax + tip. When I came back, my parents had deserts. I asked for one, but the server said that THEY GIVE ONE FOR 2 PEOPLE. Just cause there are 3 of us, we got 2. Again, that's for 150CAD per person, not per couple or anything. There was also a jam at the elevator's, but that's the least of the problems.

The steak was amazing and service was top notch. We came here to celebrate our anniversary and could not have picked a better spot.

Tom Hu

We had an event there the other night, and the food there were phenomenal!

Victor is Back and it felt like they never left us. Food quality is TOP and service is 5 starts. The main point of the review is the TIRAMISU. It is insane. What a tasted! there is not a tiramisu like this in Vamcouver. See the pictures attached.

Rick Louie

It is a chill place for a group of 2-4, because music and people are too loud for big group. Food is in average but you could find some surprise disc. Price is high but this is expected in downtown location. 3 stars out of 5 in my opinion. Very hard to book but I think it is overrated.

We ended up here by accident and it was the highlight of our trip. Craig, our server was incredible. Not only was he happy to discuss the menu options with us but also shared some local knowledge. We had great service from the Manager, as well as other serving staff as well and the food was exquisite. The Victor is a must do if you are in Vancouver.

Great service, delicious menu, and a beautiful atmosphere! Excited to spend a lot more time here on the patio this summer!

The food is ok but the service needs to improve more. Our server seems like he doesn’t have a good knowlege on explaining the menu so I have to grab another person to ask more about the steak. Pay Parking available underground.

So Phil was out waitor and he is awesome. Food was great (best meal ever) but Phil was better. Good times at the Victor.

Great food and service as usual

Winston Lin

The best Vancouver restaurant ????????

Karan Brar

Had our christmas party here in the private room. Food was excellent but more importantly, extremely professional staff and service. Will be back in the future for sure!

An amazing new restaurant. The decor is beautiful and the food was great. The best Oyster I have had in many years. Try the Waffle Mac and Cheese for an appetizer! Can’t wait to go back. High recommend!

Will RL

Amazing experience! Everything from the quality of the food to the ambiance to the amazing service from Richard was 10/10. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a really memorable night out.

Always love going to Victor! The service and food is always amazing. Love the decor!

Went 2 nights in a week with clients. Its in a casino so once you get passed that, great spot, get a patio table poolside. First time food and service was fantastic. Porterhouse was to die for as were the sides. Wine list is good but …

Fantastic ambiance. We have been to Victor many times over the past 3-4 years. Sad to say the quality has deteriorated a bit over the years.

Renee Andrews

Staff are polite and helpful, very attentive. Food was excellent, especially the yellowtail collar and tomahawk steak. The lobster bisque was also amazing, almost wish the portion was bigger! Great atmosphere, would go again for special occasions like date night

Daniel Yoo

REALLY good crab cake. The appetizers were good. The steak was disappointing. The burger was perfect & the aioli with the fries was amazing. The dessert was okay. All together I left a bit dissapointed in the food. The setting of the restaurant is beautiful. The service was okay: not great, not bad. Would definitely go back for the crab cake though.

Myself and 2 friends went to Victor yesterday before an event we were attending at Rogers Arena. I will say this.. our event was for 8pm and we arrived at Victor at 620pm, so we were cutting it close. I am assuming because of the event at Rogers Arena, Victor was quite busy. Our server took awhile to get to our table, we were hoping to put our order in asap. Once he came around we put our entire order through knowing that we needed to be in and out. The food was amazing once we got it. The service on the other hand was not. I don't expect to come into an establishment such as The Victor to be given sassy or rude treatment by a server. I politely had asked our server, J****** M., when our food would be ready and his response was "it'll be ready when it's ready. We are busy!" And then walked away! His tone and response was not expected and took us by surprise. Ruined the remainder of our experience. We wanted to complain or say something then but were pressed for time. We ran into 2 other groups of guests from Victor who had also said they had complained about the service. That or they're not capable of handling customers on busier days. I've given 3 stars because the food was top notch.

Audrey B

Very classy and nice. Located in the hotel which was very convenient! The butter for the bread was amazing!

The place is very high end and super fancy. Price is high but the food is very fresh and delicious. They don't have much selection for kids friendly food other than Mac and cheese waffle. Overall everyone enjoyed the experience and would …

I enjoyed the evening with friends very much. Raw bar was great! The service is also very professional which is not so often in Vancouver. But I had another visit just recently it wasn’t as good unfortunately.....

My wife and I went to have a drink in the lounge prior to heading out for dinner and had a terrible customer experience. We asked if we could sit in the empty lounge and she brushed us aside and gave us no reason why. We sat there for 10 minutes with no communication and as a result we left. This is the second time we have been there and both times the experience has been less than desirable. Would not recommend.

Gurjinder Virk

The food is delicious! no doubt and the decor and ambience are lovely too. But for an upscale place like this I expected stellar service and unfortunately that was not the case. I wonder if this was an anomaly due to a large group having a wedding there or if our server was just not into it tonight. It never occurred to him to refill our waters. Out of 4 meals one arrived a good 10 minutes after the rest and as we waited for our friend to get her meal our food got cold. This made our friend feel awkward and guilty and she kept insisting that we should go ahead and eat. I mean they could have kept ours warm in the kitchen and bring them all at the same time. They did offer us some side dishes and dessert on the house to make it up to us though. That was a nice gesture. On the other hand if took them VERY LONG to bring our drinks at the beginning and after the meal we ordered some espresso, cappuccino and tea and that also took a good 20 minutes to arrive. All in all the food was fabulous but the service was off. I'll definitely give them another chance though on the count of the food and ambiance and hope that in the meantime they train their wait staff properly because slow unattentive service seemed to be a common complaint on the other reviews as well. UPDATE: I'm very pleased to report that once I gave them a second chance the service was absolutely perfect. I talked to the manager on the phone when I made the reservation and mentioned the not so good service we got the first time and that I was going to give them a second chance and bring other guests there. Honestly they provided an absolutely stellar service this time. And the food was so delicious again. So glad I tried it again. So I upgraded my review to 4 stars. Will go back soon.

Kelly Au

Food was good, especially the foie gras. But service was way too slow. We had to wait close to an hour for our reserved table, food took another 40 minutes and our bill came 30 minutes after we asked for it. Would be okay if the restaurant was busy but at that time it was not. Servers were very friendly so that made up for it.

Went for a date night during the dine out menu and was pleasantly impressed with the food options for the price. The ambiance and service was top notch as always. COVID has done quite a bit of damage to a lot of restaurants yet they still find a way to maintain their upscale reputation and experience. I ordered the roasted beet and burrata salad, upgraded my entre to the 9oz filet mignon for $15 and ended with the valrhona dark chocolate tart. Everything tasted amazing and well presented. I recommend if you want to treat yourself, come and you won't be disappointed even if it's not for dine out. FYI - you now have to enter through Honey Salt downstairs and go up the elevator from the hotel. From there you can walk across to the entrance.
