Nice to have a brunch option like this in South Granville. Your weekend plans can be a stop at Rise Eatery followed by furniture shopping down the Granville strip.

Zorana Chung

Good service. Very mediocre food. Not worth the price. There are so many better options around the area.

Lanaea Gonzales

Fabulous time here! I’m surprised they were not busy at all. Server was excellent- she described the dishes we were interested like a restaurant reporter. Great decor. Delicious food and presentation. Definitely highly recommended and will come back again and again and again.

Waiter was great but the food took forever and I had to send some back as the noodles were over cooked, and the dish was generally tasteless. Awesome drinks though!

A well executed and reasonably priced food menu that is a wonderful representation of Vancouver fusion-fare. The impressive creativity, quality, and flavours of the food menu can also be found on the drinks menu too! Our server, Rose, provided us with friendly and kind service in the restaurant's casual-chic space. Their "Life's a Peach" and "Flower Power" drinks were both amazing and the "Seoul Good" dramatic set was a well-balanced flavour-fest! We also enjoyed their "Hot Chick Ramen", which we overheard was a popular choice amongst other diners when we were there. When someone now asks me, "Where should I take someone not from Vancouver out to eat?", The Rise Eatery will now be my number one recommendation!

Yum! Fun stuff, enjoyable decor, and yep -food is bold & tasty. Witty puns on the menu. "Barak Olamba" title for the lamb entree got me.

Cute vibes all around, we were able to catch their extended dine out festival menu! The chicken appy was delicious and flavourful! Their oeb to adobo was alright, flavours were mediocre. Their squid ink pasta with uni had to be my favourite dish however didn't have me screaming and craving for more. The serving size for the pasta is quite large, all the other dishes were perfect servings. I'd probably come back to try what other dishes they offer. Giving 4 out of 5 stars because sadly I had to wait over 30 mins after confirming I wanted my entrée.. Which I found a little unreasonable.

Food, service and COVID compliance were all excellent. We are booked for a return engagement.

The vibe, space and staff were all great. Only issue we has was the food itself. The signature Uni-versal Pasta was good, but not worth the visit for the other food items. I find that they're a bit confused with their direction and want to pack all and any flavors into one dish. Definitely complicating things unnecessarily. Along with the pasta we ordered the Chicken Seoul Good, Heart Attack Rice and Lomo Saltada. Aside from the name being Korean, nothing about the dish was Korean fried chicken. The flavors don't accentuate the name sake and the parmesan over powersed the whole dish. The rice was lacking in salt and flavor. We were tempted to ask for soy sauce... And the most confusing dish of all was sadly the Lomo Saltada. How do you go wrong with pretty much steak frites, right? We even upgraded to the AAA ribeye...first off how do you mess up rare and give us well done? They did mention that someone was being trained in the kitchen, but sir, that shouldn't be a mistake made, even for someone in training. Reading the description of the dish, you can see how confusing it is. The flavor profile sounds interesting and maybe could work...saving you your $ and letting you know it did not work. We were mostly taken aback by the fact that not only were there fries, but also potato wedges. There is no real value add to the dish, just confusion. The balsamic glaze was weird and sweet. It did not go well with the the 986 other flavors they tried to add into the dish. The glaze deterred us from even finishing the fries..and who doesn't finish fries? No one. The more we dug into the dish, the more random things we discovered. Aside from a packed full skillet of flavors that did not jive well together, the funniest thing we found underneath the steak was 4 pieces of pretty big homemade croutons. It wasn't even listed in the description. What did it add to the dish you ask? Bluntly said, we don't know. We've been wanting to try this place and the photos of the uni pasta was mostly what drew us in. You can see with most of their photo posts and tags on Instagram, the pasta is the main appeal. Their menu is extensive and maybe we picked all the wrong items to try, but beware that flavors are lacking and may be confusing all together. Overall if you just want to visit for the pasta and maybe some drinks, it's a nice joint, but consider the comments above.

The Chicken Seoul Good and the Uni-versal Pasta is a must get!!

Chloe Rachel

We came here for Dine Out having never heard of this place previously. We felt safely distanced and all staff were wearing masks. Our appetizer was the chicken Seoul good, and it was really tasty. The breading was light and the parmesan mushroom sauce was a great accompaniment. I would order that again. We both had the short rib, which was excellent. The rib was tender and could be pulled part with just the fork. Sweet potato mash had some nuts which complemented it, but I found the kale a little plain and smokey. Just a preference though. For dessert, we chose a kind of bread pudding with boba pearls. Not really to my liking as I thought it was a little plain, but my wife liked it. There was what looked to be a creme Brulee-like tart with raspberries that went to other tables, so when we go back, I would pick that one. Overall very good - great and friendly service too, would definitely recommend. 5 stars because of service and the appetizer and entree of short rib were awesome.

Overall a very disappointing experience. I was looking forward to this brunch as the reviews were good. Our food took over an hour from time of order to arrive. We had to follow up on our order twice before it came. After waiting 40 mins for the food, I asked the server and she said it was because the restaurant was busy as it was a full house which it clearly wasn’t. She said the food was being plated. I told her we had hungry kids and after waiting another 20 mins, I asked again and again I was told it was being plated. There were only four other tables in the restaurant. The food finally arrived 1.5 hrs later and the waffles were hard and the eggs benny was burnt, ramen salty and meat in the skillet over cooked. The whole time we waited, management never checked on us and we were only asked once on water and coffee refills. Servers were nice but clearly inexperienced. I asked to speak with the manager as the quality of food and service was just unacceptable. She apologized and said it was because the chef called in sick and “I wish you could see what’s going on downstairs so you can understand that we are trying”. As a business though, no matter how chaotic, you always want your customers and patrons to see it as crisp and smooth and you should have backup when a chef calls in sick. Waiting over an hour for food that’s coming out burnt and stale really isn’t worth it and as compensation, she told us that we didn’t need to pay gratuity. ????????‍♀️ Eating out with kids can sometimes be a challenge enough, now imagine having to keep the kids entertained for over an hour while they’re hungry. Such a disappointing experience for us and our out of town guests.

Hands down, this place has some of the best food I've had in a while. All dishes are meant to be shared, so I would definitely recommend getting a few more items. There are a good amount of vegetarian and vegan options, which is great! Everything was flavourful and the presentation was beautiful. I will most definitely be back soon.

The lobster tail pasta is superb. No doubt the best pasta I’ve ever had in Vancouver. Uni melts in your mouth!???? Good portions to fill my tummy. I’ll be going back soon.

All the sauces tasted like they came from a can or a bottle. Overly salty, no nuance. The service was spotty and not knowledgeable. The two stars are for decor — very lovely space.

Madison Gladwell

Amazing atmosphere and great food!

Instead of Chashu, you get bacon in your ramen. I wouldn’t call that fusion, more like cost cutting. It’s expensive for mediocre food.

Rich L

Great place to have brunch. Great mix of Asian/West Coast fusion food. Plenty of different dishes to choose from. The selection includes vegetarian dishes too. Great service and the atmosphere is nice. Make sure you go early as the place fills quickly. Finding parking can be a challenge especially in and around the South Granville area. Definitely another place to go for Brunch. Had the Ratatouille dish and was great. There was the burger special of the day that was very delicious. They have booster chairs too for young kids.

Cass Lao Real Estate 勞麗嫦專業地產

Inventive cuisine on a small plates menu for sampling & sharing in a lovely setting.

The food is always excellent. The service is great. The staff are very friendly. And they make great cocktails. I like the fusion aspect to the food. Everything is very different and the flavour2 work well together. The squid ink pasta is a must try.

Karen Cheung

I came here for brunch recently. Pro tip: there is free parking in the back...I didnt know and parked a block away. The inside of the building is much larger than the outside would have you believe. The waitresses were all very nice and friendly and quickly offered refills of drinks anytime they saw it low. The food itself was very good; the salmon benny was good and the tuna/nori omlette (I cant remember the name of it) was also very good. The only little thing is I like the hashbrown potatoes a tiny bit crunchier however this is a matter of personal preference and I will just be sure to ask for that next time.

Alison Sun

Service is friendly my and everyone wears a mask. Ordered from the dine out menu, good value for food Dining on the patio is nice when it’s sunny

Breanne Cooper

Absolutely fabulous. The food and staff are both amazing and the cocktails are out of this world. The amount of care and creativity put into everything is off the charts.

Made a reservation for 1900 on a weekday. Come find out, we don’t need it after all. It wasn’t busy at all, in fact we were the only ones there. I’m sure it gets busy other times. It may just be our timing and that’s not a knock on this establishment. Our server Alessya (I think that’s how her name is spelled) was so great in describing and explaining what’s in our dishes the moment they come to our table. It helps us remember what’s in the dishes we ordered. I complimented her on it and she really was attentive and knowledgeable. As for the food, they were all amazing. I love the twist in traditional dishes, incorporating ideas from other cultures and turning it into its own unique flavour. I enjoyed every bite. Just a heads up though, dishes there are meant to be shared. So order a few and try them all! Edit: Went back on Valentines Day, 2019. regretted big time. Pros: Received a call to confirm my reservation and that it will only be a Valentine’s Day 5-course menu and that they will not be serving regular menu. I appreciate the heads up as when I made the reservation it wasn’t indicated on their website as I believe. Cons: $70 for the 5-course. I left feeling ripped off, unsatisfied and craving for other food. Ignoring the price, the quality of each dish was incredible. I just felt for $70, they could have done more, literally more. I won’t be coming back for any special event menu at this restaurant. It felt like a $50 experience. On a somewhat similar note, I saw a couple 2 tables down who left midway through their dining. I observed the host/manager handing them a card or information. I don’t know what the reason was, it could be related or a completely isolated incident but I just thought it’s worth mentioning.

The Rise is very awesome ????. The staff and manager as well as the cook are very passionate about what they do. They also are so very friendly and very helpful. They know exactly how to get the job done excellently. The food...what can I say? Heaven sent, very delicious, very presentable, very well proportioned, very well prepared and ofcourse very affordable. The restaurant is very clean and the washroom is very clean and very comfortable. The only complaint I have is that I have wished I had seen this place before and I would have stuck to this place as my main staple to eat at. But hey, better late than never. It definitely is worth the wait. The music that plays in the restaurant is very soothing and goes well with the atmosphere and food. I love the fact that its located perfectly in between 2 of my favorite stores Turnabout and The Zebraclub on Granville. That's another thing great...it is situated on the strip of Granville where all the cool shops are not just Turnabout and The Zebraclub. I highly recommend this place for anybody who loves food and who just wants a great place to unwind and relax. So come on in, they are closed Mondays but it's okay cuz their menu is posted by their front entrance so you can wet your appetite and anticipate your visit for the next day. The patio is also very nice. May i also recommended their brunch on the weekend? Don't forget about the brunch!! I highly recommend the brunch ???? it's to die for. Another thing is their dessert is a Food Share Program. Ask your server or the manager about it. I think that it's a great idea and didci mention that it is very delicious ???? and a great size. I highly recommend every dish on their menu. You won't regret it. I know I didn't. I am in love ???? lol.

Interesting and, for the most part, tasty dishes with Asian influences. The sirloin in the "steak your claim" dish was cooked perfectly rare, with a delicious chimichurri sauce. The "routine", a poutine with fried ramen pieces instead of fries, was interesting but I probably wouldn't order it again since the ramen pieces were a little too hard for my liking. I do want to return to try their other dishes. Prices were reasonable and ambiance and service were excellent!

Ken Gee

We had our year end work team outing here, and is was absolutely perfect! The food is clearly inspired and matched with the fast friendly service, great drink menu and the cozy setting it was a home run! I recommend The Rise Eatery for all occasions. You owe it to yourself to visit, and I'm sure it will become your goto place.

Sammy Luk

Service and beverages were good, but the food is what stood out. I shared the Hog-it skillet and the Candied Salmon Benny. Both were excellent, but I preferred the skillet. It was rich, filling and a great balance of the ingredients.

Rufino Dee

Sharing plates, Asian fusion, beautiful space, great service. Came here for dinner and especially enjoyed their Belly 2 Belly (pork belly with yummy buns) and squid ink pasta with uni cream. Will definitely be coming back to try more!

Miya

We decided to dine here on a whim because we were in the area and it was ah-fricking-mazing! The seating was spacious and the decor was modest. Service was 10/10. I didn’t catch our server’s name but she was friendly and attentive! We ordered the “Seoul Good” and “Uni-Versal Pasta”. I wouldn’t normally order a variation of fried chicken at a sit-down restaurant but it was fried perfectly and paired well with their truffle cream sauce. The pasta was also delicious - I’d describe it to be a creamy mentaiko sauce. Both dishes were great - I’ll definitely be back!

Nick Go

We went during the dine out Vancouver deal. The food was amazing. Delicious and good serving size. Definitely worth the money. The service was amazing as well.

We visited on a Friday night around 9 pm and it wasn't very busy. Plenty seating and loved the decor. Food was fusion style.. meant for sharing... delicious but a few plates were a tad heavy on salt. Drinks selection wa s plentiful. Great service as well.

Sunil Gopal

Food are not good enough. The place is kind of small and crowded.

Orkhan Suleymanov

Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. First, love the decor. The drinks were decent. There's lots of interesting choices so I would definitely come back to try them out. The ones we did have were a little hit and miss. Didn't like their caesar, but liked their geisha nice (minus the salt rim). For appies we got ramen poutine and the dynamic duo, both which were pretty good. For mains we got the Barack olamba which had the most perfect lamb I've ever had with a really nice curry sauce. It was perfectly medium cooked and almost melt in your mouth. It came on a bed of some sort of round carbs that we found tough and inedible but we told the server and he was appreciative for the feedback as it was a new dish. Also got the lo hay salad which was so good! Would get again. It was fresh, very aethetically pleasing. Would come back! Edit: I tried this restaurant again about a year after the first time I visited. Overall it's a neat place to try out, the menu is still diverse and interesting. However my experience this time was less than impressive. I found the service to be extremely slow - but perhaps this is because they anticipate people to chit chat and order drinks and the food still hit or miss. We got the Chicken Seoul Good which was a misnomer as it had no Korean flavours in it. It was a little dry and thus tough, but decent flavouring. We also tried the dynamic duo which was also just ok, didn't live up to how I remembered. The Uni-Versal Pasta was amazing, the squid ink noodles were perfectly cooked and the sauce was creamy with amazing flavour. Heart Attack Rice was also really good. Would recommend people try this place, but I won't rave about it.

I wish I could give The Rise Eatery 5 stars because at the time of eating the dishes, I was very impressed. Their menu is also super creative. The Chicken Seoul Good and Uni-Versal Pasta were so tasty too! Unfortunately, my boyfriend and I got sick after eating here so we are hesitant to return.

Been there for brunch. Plating was good but taste? Hum... way too wired for your tongue. Do not recommend this place at all.

Cathy

Went during midweek for lunch. Had their most popular uni spaghetti. It was ok, extra charges for the uni. The texture of the spaghetti is bit too creamy for me. But would recommend to order. We also ordered a Korean fried chicken rice, which was just too normal. Fried rice lacks some flavor, maybe the spiciness covers all other flavors. The sauce on the fried chicken was a bit bland too. Not recommend.

Delicious fusion food in a nicely appointed interior with great service. It's rarity to find a true fusion restaurant thesedays with food that is expertly prepared. Flavours and creativity are on point. If you're looking for a change in tastes, this place will hit the spot!

I was really disappointed with the quality of the food at this restaurant. The food used really odd flavors. It was all either very Bland or heavily over-spiced. The service was not very good either. The server didn't know how to correctly pour a beer. Generally for the quality of the food The Establishment was heavily overpriced. This place needs to go back to the basics and revamp their menu if I am ever to return.

Chris Formosa

The front of house staff are super kind and sweet. I just came in for a couple drinks so didn't try the food yet but I'll come back for it for sure cause the menu looks yum. Wine was nice. Didn't particularly like the poppy Christmas music that was playing at the time but maybe I'm just a scrooge lol

Was absolutely blown away by The Rise Eatery's $30 prix fixe menu. I saw their special on another blogger's post/feed & I am so glad that I did go to check it out! We had the ahi tuna ceviche, the uni pasta, the brûléed pork belly, the miso cauliflower & the matcha cheese tartlet: The ceviche was fresh, citrusy & a little on the spicy side, but it was great as an opener. The uni pasta though was the star of the meal! I can't even put into words how good it was. Every single bite of the squid ink pasta was gloriously rich & thoroughly coated in fresh uni. Given that a low grade tray of sea urchin goes for about $23 at T&T, I seriously don't know how they are paying for this dish lol. The pork belly was quite delicious as well & just melted in our mouths. I didn't have a chance to actually try the cauliflower dish so I wouldn't review it, but I was told it was rather mediocre. Should have gotten the braised beef cheeks instead. For $5 extra you can upgrade the tartlet to its palm sized version & I would definitely recommend doing that. It wasn't very strong in terms of the matcha flavor, but it was still delicious & the butter shortbread crust was to die for. Food aside, their waiter/staff were all incredibly nice & accommodating as well. Would definitely recommend!

It took forever for them to serve our food. It was over 45 min wait time to get our food. The serve was not great. We were quite disappointed that the server did not tell us about the Wednesday promotion. He did not explain the menu either! Be prepared to wait for a very long time. It took us about 30 min wait to get the bill and pay for the bill. The place wasn’t even very busy!

This is a fantastic new brunch and dinner joint. Staff are remarkably friendly and helpful. I arrived with my two sons and they helped me get everyone situated. They can provide for semi-large parties (I saw a table of 12 get seated) but likely it will be easier for small groups of 4 to 6 for most of the brunch times. Decor is excellent, clean, with an artsy feel that isn't too eclectic or too busy to distract. It feels like a how you would stage a home. The outdoor patio is also nice but the view is a bit limited. Food is why you come here however, they have a variety of asian fusion brunch items that put a cool twist on the regular brunch. From Japanese to Thai or Vietnamese to Chinese they have a little of everything to try. We were surprised that the congee was as good as it was. Parking is paid on the street or they have limited parking behind. They are on a major bus route and are walking distance if you are close to the Chinese consulate.

Just had happy hour. Was just walking around and saw the resturant. No wonder thr resturant is call the rise eatery. They do have alot of room for raising their quality of food up. Newly found hidden gem! Rustic Industrial decor, very chill atmosphere, super cheerful staff, amazingly well designed menu, and surprisingly tasty vegetarian dishes!!! Came for their “Spaghetti al nero di seppia” (it’s called Uni-versa pasta on their menu), but found out it’s only served for dinner on Saturdays, so went ahead and tried their brunch, and was surprised by their meticulously designed menu and dishes. It’s definitely worth another visit, for their Spaghetti al nero di seppia, as well as for their other tempting looking dishes on menu!

I found this place on google maps and came to try it for brunch. Like the reviews said the service was really warm and friendly. I ordered a dish called “Hog it”, suggested to me by one of the waitresses. I didn’t like it very much as it was very oily and I found that many of the pieces were just fat. I can see why some people might like it, but to me it didn’t remind me of a typical skillet dish.I’m very skeptical if I would come again for brunch.

Was an ok dinner. Had 2 appies a salad and main with a glass of wine and a ceaser, $120. Expensive chinese food, awkward service ( although they tried, can tell they weren't properly trained) and the Caesar was no improvement, I'll take an original Ceaser any day. Everything is fried with no healthy choices. Flavours were pretty good but they have a long way to go before they achieve balance. The decor hasn't changed since the pho place and it felt like I was walking into the same business. It feels like an amature put this place together, ill prepared and under financed. Wish them the best of luck on the journey but will not return.

This place is a little gem. Great fusion food and great prices. Service is fantastic too. This is my 3rd time here and would still love to come back again soon. The truffle Korean chicken and the uni-versal pasta was my favourite tonight

Not a fan of this restaurant... Ingredients are nice and fresh but they have some really “special” idea of putting them together. The broth of the ramen was way too thick and salty that I feel like I am putting pure starch in my mouth. We ordered 4 dishes but none of it was worth the money.

My friend got sick from eating here!!! Literally we came here for dinner last Sunday. From the moment we ate the chicken of the first meal, we felt increasingly uncomfortable. Chicken was very dry and smelled like refrigerator. We reported this problem to the server and the server said they would talk to the chef. In short, my opinion is that people don't get sick because the food doesn't taste good. However, using stale food can make someone sick. After that day, on Tuesday and today, she has not been able to eat properly and is still sick. The owner and staff of this restaurant will seriously discuss this issue and I hope that it will be improved. Don't let anyone get sick with your food!!!!

This place is very modern and nice to sit in. Service is also quite fast. However, the food was not great, especially for how expensive it was. I ordered their Neer and Far dish for lunch, and it was basically just a cream-based curry with absolutely no spices. It felt like there wasn't even salt in the dish. It was very underwhelming. Maybe it was just bad luck, but I wouldn't recommend the place unless you aren't a big spice person.

E Lai

Ordered the barack lamb or whatever its called. It was 15$. What came through was two tiny lamp popsicles. Why is that dish in the mains section? It was so small, it shouldve been in the appetizer section. Felt ripped off. The lamb was room temperature and did not have any juices come out of it. Heart attack rice was just burnt soy sauce stir fried with rice and some tiny pieces of chicken. 10$. Lol.

I came here for dinner and it was a wonderful experience. I think the drinks are good and the social atmosphere is welcoming. I also like that the portions are not tiny and everything is made for sharing. The food tastes very good and I enjoyed my time there. The only thing is that it’s not like super special I could get the same type of food elsewhere. I saw the lunch or brunch menu and I think I like those menus better so perhaps I need to give that a try first. Overall though I really liked it.

Meika Uy

We had great time at the fusion place. The food had nice presentation and was yummy, something née to try out and spend time together in a warm inviting environment. Noodles are the stars of the show (don’t forget to add urchin) with amazing fried shrimps. There was a plenty of parking down the street.

I came here for brunch on Mother’s Day for the first time. The ambiance in the restaurant is relaxed and cool. Staff were friendly and helpful in identifying menu items. Brunch tastes fresh and full of flavour without being overwhelming - the salad that came with my Eggs Benny was a wonderful nutty flavour. The special of the day was a shrimp toast - the shrimp was so soft and fresh. I enjoyed my meal and I was relatively full when done -I’m very excited to come back and try the 3-course dinner (which is $30 on Wednesday nights!)

Great Asian Fusion restaurant. Tastefully done. And great portion to price ratio. The Dineout Vancouver menu is great for three or more. We opted for the normal menu as we wanted to try more small plates. We left absolutely full and satisfied. Great service and ambience too. Highly recommended and we will be back for brunch!

Good restaurant for dinner. The ramen poutine was good, as well as the caesar salad. The quality is very good and nice atmosphere with good interior decorations.

Overall great fusion food at reasonable prices paired with friendly, professional service. - Each table is one of those fancy solid wood slabs. - You start of right away with popcorn which is the right amount of salty and buttery. - Our waiter Tim was friendly and let us know the chef was offering a off menu item - soft shell cream with Thai curry sauce which was probably the best dish of the night. The curry sauce was flavourful and had melted cheese. Hopefully it's added to the menu. - The Dynamic Duo of cauliflower and brussel sprouts was a highlight. Had Korean barbeque sauce and blue cheese. Quite a strong taste but I liked it. - The Shrimply the Beths was five large tiger prawns on sliced baguettes. Another great dish, a little oily, but that's not always a bad thing. - The Routine (ramen poutine) was a little on the dry side, so not one of our favourites. - The proteins of steak (Steak Your Claim), lamb (Shank off the Tee), and pork belly (Belly to Belly), were all very tender. Steak was with chimichurri sauce, lamb was with crispy chick peas, pork belly was with hoisin sauce and mantau buns. - Squid ink spaghetti (Tegy Spaghetti) was well executed with the perfect amount of sauce and inky flavour. Also had sea urchin. - The Heart Attack Rice was a little on the salty side. - We had the Chai, Matcha, and Orange desserts which weren't amazing but still good. The Matcha one was my favourite of the three.

I'm conflicted on this one. I've visited previously and had good experiences, but this recent one was quite poor. I ordered two dishes and a cocktail. The first dish was excellent ( Korean chicken), the second dish was poor( very oily, meat was covered in charcoal), and the drink was made wrong twice ( ordered dark and stormy(dark rum, ginger beer, lime, ice), got a bad white rum mix that was replaced with a white rum and tonic water). I'm not sure how to rate the rise. They do things differently, but seem to overlook basics of not burning stuff. I'll return in the future, albeit infrequently.

Diana Barnes

Creative menu, but the taste is a bit on the heavy side.

Tracy Hu

Exceptional food. Portions are quite large so you definitely don’t need to order a ton. We ordered 5 tapas for two people and it was definitely too much — we probably would have been fine with just 3 but we wanted to try all the great dishes. Highly recommend this spot!

Bad choice for groups of 10+. Rise so high to fall so far. Great decor, amazing table service BUT for our group of 12, took hour from order to food on table. 18 minutes between first plate to last plate to table. Meat lukewarm. Probably good for small parties.

The first place in Vancouver we went eating in that was actually clean! Staff were really nice and polite and the food was great-looking and so tasty! ???? Looking forward to come back again and try some other dish from the menu ????

Looking for a twist to the usual brunch menu, we tried the asian fusion restaurant @theriseeatery. Their brunch menu takes inspiration from many different cuisines, with Eggs Benedict, Ramen and even Congee making an appearance. We tried “Hog it”, a smoked pork belly skillet with a couple of soft poached eggs, and their daily special, a savoury buttermilk pancake topped with pulled pork. Not only did they both look great, but they also bring with it some truly unique flavours. It’s definitely a place to visit if you are looking for something that stands out from the norm, and we are eager to try their dinner menu next!

The food is amazing. We went there for Sunday brunch and really enjoyed the food (a Benny and one of the skillets, plus a side of Waffle). The place is cozy with a nice atmosphere. Only minor negative was with the service when I asked if I can have a side of both maple syrup and whipped cream with my waffle and our waiter said "unfortunately, no"! Wasn't expecting that honestly.

Closer to 3.5. Food was nicely presented, tasted great but the wait time for the food to come out was unacceptable, we waited around 45+ minutes for our brunch dishes. Expected better for the price.

Quality of food and price is perfect! I will definitely come back for the korean fried chicken and the squid ink pasta. Yumm! Preference: do only dine in. The take out was not what i expected..it tasted different

Service and food were amazing. Server was always attentive, helpful, and quick. Every dish was also unique and had it's own character. Try the spaghetti with prawns when you're there, it's great.

Sujeong Park

They have really nice service. Food was tasty and well prepared. Only thing is it took so much time to get our order. Also they might have the best washroom in that part of the city.

I simply Adore! The Rise Eatery! I love all the food there, especially the Heart Attack Fried Rise, OMG love that runny egg on top! Wanda and Dan, are amazing couple, and Dan's an out of this world Chief! I also use them a lot for their catering, Danz Gourmet, my work loves their food and I am always happy with their service, and how easy it is to talk to them about changed with the menu at times. Thank you always Dan & Wanda, Love your restaurant and food!

Had lunch the other day. First time at this restaurant. We ordered the Seoul Fried Chicken and Poke. Food was excellent. Portions were big. The salsa for the poke was awesome. Each dish was only $16, a very good deal considering it's Chef quality food. Will try dinner there another time.

Great place, great staff, food was amazing something different to try in Vancouver. The place itself is very modern and was extremely clean with a relaxed vibe. Great cocktail selection, and good happy hour. Will 100% be back.

Food was ok, hot chocolate and matcha latte tastes light, but adding two sea urchins is $11, a little bit pricey. A suggestion for owner, staff training should be improved, my friend finished her plate but she was still sharing my plate, the server clean up her plate and also take her spoon and fork. When we finished our waffle desserts, the waiter came to take away the plates immediately, seems to be hurry to ask us to leave, when there wasn’t busy around 2:30 p.m

Went for brunch one time, and lunch another time. Lots of natural light in this clean, hip restaurant. Sometimes hard to flag down servers, but generally very friendly and attentive. They saw my friend go out after ordering her white chocolate matcha latte (very good) and waited until she returned to serve her hot drink. They were also prompt in topping up our glasses of water - very important! Both brunch and lunch menus had good take on fusion, good amount of food, and price was very reasonable. I recommend the white chocolate matcha latte and poke fun (lunch)! Second time we went, they gave us red pockets (drink voucher for the Rise Eatery) for Chinese/Lunar New Year :)

The decor and staff were both lovely. The BananaRama waffle is the best waffle I've ever tried. It was sweet, caramelized and absolutely delicious! The Posh Squash on the other hand was absolutely disgusting. The marinara sauce made the entire dish bland and soggy - would not recommend. The staff was very attentive to what we had to say but unfortunately left the meal on the bill even though we only had two bites.

Liwen Chen

Very expensive and underwhelming.

*Update below* I do not write reviews often. When I do, it is either because the place really deserves praise, or something went horribly wrong during our meal. It was the latter. My friends and I were harassed by our Caucasian male server. He was arrogant and overbearing. When we ordered, he asked if we wanted drinks to go with the food. We politely declined. My girlfriend and I already were sharing a bottle of sparkling water and my friends wanted just water. We had some awkward exchanges (he tried to make jokes...) but everything was normal then. We ordered 2 orders of Chicken Seoul Good (along with their dine out set menu and other items). My order with my girlfriend was fine, but my friends' order was filled with small pieces of batter and skin... Did you guys run out of chicken? If you ever had authentic Korean friend chicken, you will be disappointed here. The batter and chicken were stiff and dry. The mushroom sauce was great, better than the friend chicken that it was meant to compliment. The rest of the order was decent. Dessert was quite good. On a side note, food came out very slowly and the restaurant was not busy whatsoever. When we were served dessert, the male server made an attempt again to try to get us to order drinks. Yea, I get it. You are trying to upsell products, there's nothing wrong with that. BUT, you need to respect your customers when they say no (it means you need to take the hint and stop pressuring them if I'm not being clear). He offered some drink options to us, I replied something along the lines of "Oh no, I'm okay, thanks.", in which he said, and I quote, "I'm not asking how you are, I'm asking if you want drinks." as he tilts his head toward my direction, accompanied by an eyeroll. He had the absolute snarky, insulting look on his face. We were stunned. I was not sure if this was another one of his failed attempts to joke, then I quickly realized it was not. He then went on about how he was an English teacher in elementary school and high school, and he "doesn't know what schools are teaching (us) kids nowadays", as we awkwardly laugh... He then continued to complain that my grammar was wrong. For reference, We are all of Asian ethnicity in our mid twenties, we are adults. We were being very respecful, and we were completely shocked by his ill-mannered attitude. My friends and I work in restaurants and retail, we recognize a good service when we see one. Unfortunately, what we experienced here tonight was not remotely near satisfactory. We will NEVER come back, and will make sure none of our friends do, either. I am sorry that my English skills did not meet your standard, Mr.Server. But man, what are restaurants teaching their servers nowadays, I wonder? You did not even deliver the food we ordered to the right person half the time. Step it up, buddy. We were here on the night of Feb 20, 2019. There were only one male server that I could recall. The female servers at the time were fantastic. Update: Wanda has spoken with me about the incident and she has made an effort to compensate for our negative experience at the restaurant. She has also communicated with the aforementioned server about the occurance that night. Even though we didn't receive adequate service, we very much appreciate Wanda for reaching out to us to make amends. Thank you again.

Food: interesting, tasty, a little overpriced for what it is but with decent portion sizes. Our food for two could have fed three. Squid ink pasta is not to be missed. Service: friendly, but inattentive and lacking in finesse on small details. Enough to make you notice and for the cost, you expect better. Ambience: modern vibes and busy with a big mix of young diners. Lacks character in terms of decor, which was empty/cheap as opposed to minimalist. Overall: not a bad night but not a great one. The decent food makes up for the below average experience. Good enough to come back to try more of their menu some day... but not any time soon. We came on a busy Saturday night during Dineout Vancouver. The host was welcoming and friendly though there was a mixup where our table was given to someone else by accident, which was fixed within a few minutes. The server explained the menu well to us although we could barely hear her (speak up a teeny bit through the mask and full service please!). Food was meant to be family style and served as they are prepared. Great! Weirdly another diner fell over right afterwards near our table due to a bit of water but staff didn't notice... First dish out was the Buried Treasure which was a mix of various vegetables. The seasoning was delicious and the ingredients well matched. They were a bit overcooked though as most of the veg was slightly mushy. We nibbled at this as the next dish, the Belly Roll (Korean rice cake and pork belly) took a while. Speaking of belly roll... At this point I'll mention a slightly awkward note that the server bringing out food was wearing a crop top and the sight of her bare stomach at our eye level was off putting unfortunately. It was like something out of Curb Your Enthusiasm lol. I do feel bad saying it but I just don't need to see that much of someone's flesh in my face as they serve me food. The dish was delicious though and not something we'd tried before. The Ultimate seducktion came, which we paid an extra $19 for. The meat was prepared well but the seasoning felt a little lacking. It was decent if what you're expecting is a big bowl of comfort food, which is how it felt and tasted. The highlight of the meal was the squid ink pasta, which was served exquisitely with perfectly cooked prawns. I was only sad that I was too full to properly enjoy it all by this point! We asked to take the leftovers home and a couple of cardboard takeout boxes were unceremoniously left on our table. We'll do it then, shall we? I don't mind doing it myself at cheaper, casual places, but something about it really cheapened the evening for us. It was meant to be an elevated dining experience, according to their website. The dessert came which was a brown sugar boba cake. Unique and perfect. We thought it would be too much since it was huge but we were wrong. It was a light and airy cake with a boba surprise in the middle. We devoured it! At this point, at the end of the meal the servers had not come to top up our drinks a single time, which seems a wasted opportunity for easy revenue on their part. They didn't even get us more water and we had to ask our hostess for it. When we left there were no staff around for a courtesy "bye", which again is just a small detail that was lacking. Overall the food was great and I would come back just to try more of the menu but the amateurish service tainted things, so it may be a while before we try again. Spending that much money on a night out, even if it is a discounted Dineout menu, you expect good service. There were just too many little things that you start to notice it and it affects the meal itself. Some more FOH training may be needed!

I’ve made a couple of trips to The Rise for brunch, dinner and their dine out period. Every visit is a fantastic one. Every time I come back here I always order the UNI-versal XO pasta! It’s so good and if you get it you MUST order it with the fresh uni! They also have other Asian fusion dishes - we got the ultimate se-duck-tion which was a rice bowl with some duck and foie gras which is a unique take. All of their dishes have such fun and creative names :) They have a great selection of cocktails, I particularly like a bright future and lolliwood north. Dessert is also really good with their matcha tart and boba coma cake (sponge cake filled with tapioca pearls and brown sugar sauce). The ambiance is warm and lively- both family and date night friendly or even to celebrate your bday with a small group of friends. The servers were really friendly, sweet and attentive. Overall, I recommend this place for brunch and dinner if you’re looking for something unique with yummy Asian fusion food.

It was busy when we arrived after having been unable to get into other nearby restaurants which had waiting lists. The host moved some tables around to make space for our party of three. Service was attentive and the food was good. It's a little further up Granville towards 16th Ave from many of the other restaurants in the area so might not be noticed if just walking around looking for a place to eat.

We did a private party at the Rise and it was fantastic! Wanda, Danny and the staff were impeccable, the food was amazing and my guests had a blast. If you haven’t been yet, go and experience it. Trust me, you’ll love it.

I've been meaning to come to this place since they've recently opened at the Granville street location. I've ordered a "Hog It" Brunch dish: potatoes and eggs and bits of pork all served into one delicious pile. My wife got waffles. We both drank coffee and chatted. It was a good start to our day.

The food was alright, we also got the pasta with the raw egg on top. But then I got food poisoning and vomited all of the food I ate from the place???? never had a food poisoning before, this is the first place.

This place used to be Pho restaurant. They did quite an amazing job in changing some decorating and lighting. I felt the chef was trying very hard to make a go and impress the public. The chicken wings got several ingredients but I liked it. That's the way I like my chicken wings dry and chewy. The rack of lamb was also done very well. Yum! I have seen The Rise Eatery on Instagram for the longest time and had it on my list of places to visit. It was a sign to finally check it out when I won an Instagram contest! Had a reservation on Friday at lunch and the restaurant was nicely spaced out. I liked how big and airy the space was, and it was not too too busy at all. The first dish we tried was the squid ink pasta with sea urchin cream, flying fish roe, roasted seaweed topped with prawns and a delicious raw egg yolk. I can see why this one is a top seller. It’s very creamy and delicious, packed with umami. ⠀ Also had a chance to try the Seoul Good lunch set - cheesy Korean fried chicken with truffle oil and grated parmesan paired with kimchi fried rice. Also came with a small side dish of cold pickled cauliflower and a small macaroon as a dessert. The fried chicken was awesome - loved the cheesy sauce with mushrooms. The truffle oil also really elevated it. The kimchi fried rice itself was just okay. Can’t wait to go in the summer to check out their patio! ⠀

Came with a couple friends in the late afternoon and could only order off the happy hour menu. Their cocktails are pretty delicious and creative, but the mocktails were a letdown. $9 regular price for something that tastes like a basic virgin shirley temple...eh. The food was lackluster...the tacos were lackluster in flavour and the naan/dip was so, so greasy. There were only enough naan pieces for about 2/3 of the dip despite us piling it onto each piece - wouldn't kill the restaurant to add a few more. Based on other reviews, the quality sounds better for the non-happy hour options, so we may decide to revisit and see, but I would not come back for happy hour specifically.

I came here to have a birthday dinner with my friends. Honestly, I'm surprised by the other reviews I see for this place. I was quite disappointed, at least for dinner. I feel like the westernized "Asian Fusion" restaurant tag is often used to jack up prices, while the food is rarely up to par with cheaper, authentic Asian restaurants. The menu was unclear, lacked any sort of imagery to tell you what you were ordering (and most of the dishes were not on google images either), and was massively overpriced. The menu had two main sections for food: A vaguely labelled small share option, named "Nibble", and "Munch" option, that was apparently ALSO to share, but with larger portions. This proved to be utterly inaccurate. It seems like the only reason these were sectioned into two parts was the increase in price. I ordered a Lomo Saltado, which cost 37.17$ with tax and 18% gratuity. The cast iron pan it was served in was approximately six inches in diameter, and included a dipping sauce (I believe?) on the side. The taste itself was quite good, but barely filled me up halfway. The Chicken Soeul Good ordered by my friend, in contrast, cost him 14.87$, and was larger in portion size than my 37 dollar meal. Now, I understand, steak is expensive. But for a dish that cost more than double the price of the supposedly smaller "nibble" dish, I expected at least enough food to make me somewhat satisfied. Instead, I'm left feeling like I got massively ripped off. For the other dishes, my other friends ordered the Uni-Versal Pasta XO Edition, and found it decent, but hardly worth the 34.69$ price tag. The sides were small, and the relatively large plate size was filled with mostly pasta, with an unsatisfying amount of sides. The patio experience was also horrible. Despite this being Raincouver, they were utterly unequipped for the rain. Finally, the wait time was very long. It took like 20 to 30 minutes to get our food. tl;dr: Too expensive, uninformative menu (though I suppose that is a staple in "fine dining"), long wait time and unsatisfying portions. Maybe the way to go with Rise is Dine Out.

Ordering online for contactless pick up was quick and simple! The portions were larger than my group expected - and the eggs were all intact! We ordered the Seoul Good and Heart Attack dramatic lunch sets and their Uni-versal Pasta. The truffle oil/cream sauce for the KFC was so fragrant. This is a late review, I came here in the first week of September for lunch, I was so shocked when I walked in before 1pm, I didn't see any customer I thought they were closed. I was seated next to the window and order a Uni-Versal pasta, while waiting for my order, I moved to the patio, I was reliefed that I am not the only customer when I saw a customer was leaving. The pasta was delicious, but i wish the sea urchin cream taste stronger. Pasta was Al-Dente, Service-wise, great overall.

Being vegetarian it’s usually hard to find restaurants in Vancouver that can accommodate my dietary needs, until recently a friend recommended the Rise Eatery and I am obsessed! Dinner has a number of veggie options, my favourites being the vegan tofu cream udon and the spicy brussel sprouts and cauliflower duo. I also came in for Sunday brunch a few weeks ago and I was happy to see it was packed. The skillets and bennys are creative and delicious. Servers are wonderful and I can’t wait to return for the back patio!

Tried out the kick the blues menu. $30 for a 3 course meal. Food was very good, service was awesome. There was a bit of a wait, roughly 30 mins for the main to come but I think this was strategic to make you full faster. Me and the girlfriend really likes the squid ink pasta. Probably be back when the 3 course menu is over and it's back to business as usual, so we can try other items

Went to the restaurant for the first time and I have to say it was a disappointing experience. We were there for two hours and the service was fairly slow because we had no idea which server we should be talking to for the most part. The food portion was good but it would of been nice if the server would have let us know how big the portions are while we were ordering and let us know if we ordered a little too much for three to finish and ended up having to bring half of our meal home. All they tell you is they are tapas style and all dishes are made to share; which made me feel that the dishes were suppose to be small size and I should order several. Also, I have never been to a restaurant in Canada where I was charged for hot water with lemon, this was definitely the first and we would appreciate if we could of been informed of the charge when we ordered it.

Grace

The foods were not bad but the servers seems not really taking good care of the customers.

Overall - Dinner Only: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.75 Uni-versal Pasta and Triple XO Prawn Star ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Iron Man 2.0 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lamb Lollipop ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ So I went back after a week to finally try out their dinner menus Although I went there specifically for their “Uni-versal Pasta” I enjoyed their meat menus much more! Their Uni pasta didn’t have strong uni taste to it, and was a bit dry. Hope there was a little more sauce to it to moisturize it (of course this is my personal preference) Their steak and lamb chop were beyond tender.. Their sauces went very well with the meats. I beg you guys. Go get them both ???????? I would def go back there for their dinner menus. Really interested to try out their other fascinating named menus . Overall - Brunch Only: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Renaissance - Scallion Bread Bennies ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dan Bing-O ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Wheel of Treats ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 —————————————— I went there to try their uni-versal pasta, but I didn’t know it was only served for dinner ???? So I got to try their brunch menu, and they were decent. I wouldn’t say they are the best benny I had, but overall they were alright. Their dessert was the BOMB tho! All four bite size dessert were just soooo good. They all melted in my mouth with RIGHT AMOUNT OF SUGAR. I could order 2 sets of this and have them all! I would come back for their dessert for sure.

Don't get the hype. I thought the squid ink "uni" cream pasta with the prawns was not flavourful at all. I've had WAY better squid ink pasta! And why waste the uni in cream form? It's rarely a good idea. If you got good uni, just put it on top. By the way, if you want this dish (which is overly hyped up by food bloggers), you need to order the prawn separately and then they'll throw both into one dish. My friend's pork belly and our shared salmon salad appetizer was also just so so.

Cherie Ho

Excellent environment ????

Mark Cordero

We ordered a good amount of items off their dinner menu and found every single one mediocre and underwhelming. All dishes lacked flavour, were lukewarm, and my steak was overcooked. Service was inattentive and cold. Their prices do not reflect the quality of their food. If you're more of a foodie I'd highly recommend skipping this place and going somewhere with much more flavourful food, better service, and better value. I won't be back.

The fusion food here is paired successfully with flavors that work really well together. I had the Uni-versal Eggsellence and it was pure yum. The Uni sauce was creamy and rich and you could even add on fresh pieces of local uni on the crepe which wrapped eggs and shrimp. The potatoes are perfectly cooked and crisp on the outside like a chip and soft on the inside with fluff. The flower power drink was refreshing. However, the best thing here is their homemade hot sauce! It is creamy with the perfect amount of kick.

Visited during Happy Hour and loved it! Great prices on a limited menu of beer, wine, cocktails and snacks. All very tasty and excellent value! Will visit again for dinner or brunch. Happy hour is 3-5, 9-11. The front window decoration/writing makes the place look like a cheap cafe, but the inside is quite lovely.

Spencer Gall

Not bold nor tasty enough. Fried chicken was overcooked to the point the coat was hard to chew. The mushroom sauce on top was good, but doesn't pair well. Instead of balancing out the oily taste it aggregates it. Pad thai was underwhelming, the fish "noodle" does not have the umami nor the delicate texture of fish. Sauce was typical. The pasta was very creamy and was pretty good. Personally the pasta had a bitter taste that dissipates quickly, which was interesting.

Ron Taylor

Good... it's just good. Good atmosphere. Food can be good.. or ok... meaning this is the second time I've been there and it seemed just ok. But one thing I'll say is that it is not bad... so try it out.

First time trying the restaurant. The server was very friendly and welcoming. However, it took forever (around an hour) for the food to be served. Don’t come if you are already starving. The food we ordered was ok. I was hoping to try the uni pasta however they don’t serve them during lunch in the weekends. Therefore, we only ordered their brunch choices, which was similar to other brunch places which I have been to. The feature brunch we got for the day was a soft shell crab in a bun. The crab didn’t have any meat but only the shell, so i think it is a bit overpriced for the value. Maybe I will come to try their dinner menu in the future, but don’t think I will come again for brunch.

The menu is really out of the ordinary! Very creative delicious fusion dishes. My friend is obsessed with the Routine and my bf has that issue with the Heart Attack Rice!! And I find the Seoul Good Chicken to die for!! Amazing job Chefs!! Our server Karen was outstanding! Friendly, relatable and genuine..and not only at the time of the bill when it is the moment to tip! I popped at the bar looking for the bathroom and had a chance to chat with the talented bartender who found for me the perfect cocktail. I don't live nearby but will happily take the detour to keep trying this place over and over again.

Based on all the glowing reviews, I booked this place for a post-holiday family dinner. We must have caught them on an off night. For some reason, we were expecting farm to table but it was "global fare" aka Asian fusion with very small portions drizzled in sauces. If you regularly eat a lot of ethnic or Asian food, the tastes and textures won't be anything new. The interior is modern and sparse with a bar on one side and dining area on the other. Unfortunately the experience was lacking in atmosphere maybe due to the sub-zero temperature inside and our server who was really sweet and polite but seemed brand new. She didn't even mention the ferris wheel. Oh well.

Barry Chen

Yummy brunch, great atmosphere and excellent service!

M K

Great concepts and innovation for their food but they didn't taste good so that was quite disappointing. The ramen for the routine was over fried so it was hard as a brick the dish also didn't come hot enough so the cheese curds and gravy was cold. Same with their chicken it was overfried that it's way to hard to be digested. Most dishes came room temperature or cold. Won't be returning to this restaurant because I agree with some other reviewers that they lack food safe practices. Both my husband and I got diarrhea an hour after eating there. . .

Visited with a large group of friends. The servers were friendly, attentive, and accommodating. The shared plate theme made it very easy to share and try different plates with everyone. You'll notice the menu is full of puns, great for small talk and just having a laugh. The Chicken Seoul Good (Crispy Korean Fried Check with truffle mushroom cream sauce), Belly to Belly (espresso and hoisin braised pork belly with crispy baos), and Tegy Spaghetti (Squid Ink Spaghetti with an uni cream sauce) were some of our group's favourite dishes. The Luv U So Matcha (Matcha Cheese Tart with a raspberry coulis) was an excellent end to the meal.

Joan HOSY

heart attack????????‍♀️ (not worth it. Got heart attack for pitying my money and the calories/carb intake quota wasted. For 20 dollars it’s just a big bowl of rice with no flavour, super bland I guess they ran out seasoning. Any stand in Richmond malls’ food court would do better than this. Being so-called FUSION can’t excuse them. They should apologize to Fried Rice. The meat texture is wired, not firm. Onion crisps are not crispy at all) (The complement veggie is also meh; the mini donut was delicious though) Nice service cute place

The coffee is from House of Funk and it’s very very good! I had the drip. The brunch menu is also very nice. Update: went back on a Wednesday. The menu is quite reduced in week-days (no brunch menu), and the House of Funk drip coffee is not available. Somewhat disappointing; I'd only come back on the weekends.

Coming from Burnaby, I was very interested to try this place. We had a pretty bad experience. Sent the Thom Yum Caesar (cocktail) back after two very small and unpleasant sips. A Caesar shouldn't taste floral, ever. I advised the bartender it wasn't for me, the taste was very off, and sent it back. They charged us for it and insisted that it was the house policy. Even after a discussion with the manager, nothing was done. $14 paid for nothing. Terrible customer service. Now the food: You can tell from the mismatched menu items that it's a little off, but we decided to try it anyways. Chicken Seoul Good was overcooked and covered in what tasted like Campbell's mushroom soup. Diamonds and Pearls had an awful consistency and tasted like deep fried breaded velveta cheese. Heart Attack Rice was decent but the egg was hard poached. We were told that it's meant to be like that. Server must have been new because they didn't seem to know much about the menu, but that's not much of a concern so much as the overall experience. The owner was observing our interactions with the supervisor/manager and made the decision not to approach the table or do anything other than use her staff as a scapegoat. I would skip this one if you're thinking about it. Not worth the time or money.

Needs to be on your radar. One of the most creative reataurants in Vancouver. The dishes are truly inspired without sacrificing taste. We tried it for dinner and brunch and it was outstanding both times. Oh and the staff are really gracious and lovely.

Visited for brunch and had a really lovely experience! Food was very tasty and filling (had the Renaissance benny), and was served promptly. Highlight of the visit was our server Atilla who was charming, helpful, and clearly loves what he does. He went above and beyond and made us feel really welcome and taken care of. Will definitely come back for both the tasty grub and lovely service, thanks Atilla!

First time here. The food and service was excellent. Nice little patio in the back. We tried several dishes (6 between 2 of us and it was too many to finish but the bill was still under $100 with a glass of wine). The corn/tapioca fritters remind me of the Brazilian cheese balls, so good! We liked them better without using the sauce. The scallops were cooked perfectly. The pea/mint risotto was also cooked perfectly. Portion sizes were excellent for the price, we were pleasantly surprised at how large they were. The decor is sheek and modern, a mix of concrete and wood. This is an excellent tapas restaurant.

Came here for a lovely afternoon tea and quite enjoyed it! Service is just outstanding and the desserts are amazing! 4 stars because the parking is just so tough to get and I have not tried any of the savory items. Now back to the desserts - drinks are pretty standard but the wheel of sweets is a fun show stopper. The sweets are so yum and just so fresh! No gimmick here, it is super yum! And saving the best for past, that boba coma cake is just bomb! The best cake ever for a BBT addict like me! Subtly sweet, you can taste the milk tea flavor and the cream is just perfect, and the boba were perfection too - better than the boba at most BBT spots! Trust me, just order this and thank me later!

I can't say enough good things about both the food and service. I was particularly impressed with the Shroom and the Luv U So Matcha from the dessert Wheel of Nosh. We came here mid-morning on a Sunday and there weren't many people at all when we got there - we had placed a reservation, however upon arriving it was apparent that it hadn't been necessary. However, by the time we had finished our breakfast, the restaurant was quite full, so perhaps they are typically more lively at noon. Either way, it didn't hurt to place a reservation online, which was fairly simple. The atmosphere was a little lack luster on the patio but I suppose I was expecting something a bit different based on the photos I'd seen ahead of time. It essentially looks like someone's townhouse backyard with some patio furniture, string lights, and a gazebo. Our hostess and server were lovely. They checked on us enough times for us to have our needs met but not so often that it became overbearing. In terms of the food, it did take a while to arrive - maybe 20-30 minutes - but that is understandable when you see how beautiful the presentation is. I got the maple glazed salmon eggs benny with the farro cakes substituting the English muffins. I didn't really like how sweet the salmon was against the richness of the hollandaise sauce and the softness of the farro cakes but knowing me, I should've known that I'm not a fan of savoury foods made sweet. The eggs benedict were insanely smooth on the inside - I truly don't have a clue how they did it; it seemed as though the yolk's texture had somehow been thickened and slightly cooked yet it was still runny as one would expect. The side salad was delish - nice mix of greens, granola and cranberries or raisins (can't remember) , and no hint of sweetness in the vinaigrette, which I feel like is quite rare nowadays.

Jessica Zhang

Simply amazing. First time here and just so happens to be surprised for valentine's day dinner. Vegan options were available! Chef Leung came out at the end of the night and greeted each table. A restaurant that has it all. Spectacular service, beyond amazing food, and a chic but welcoming atmosphere. The cocktails are a must try! Instagram worthy indeed. Thank you for making a memorable night for me and my date. 2 years later update: Still just as amazing! Chef Leung and Wanda are top notch. This restaurant never disappoints. Just so happened that yhis Valentine's day we got seated at the same table and the atmosphere is perfect like always. Thank you for another memorable Valentine's date!

Been there twice - for Happy Hour and Brunch. Both were solid. And the back patio is lovely.

TLDR; Great, funny staff! Food (mostly) delicious, but took way too long to be prepared! We visited the Rise Eatery for their Kick the Blues event. To start, I had the Lollipop cocktail which was fun and tasty. We then enjoyed both appetizers -- the tuna tartare and beet carpaccio. We proceeded to wait half an hour for our entree... needless to say, we were getting hangry. Staff was excellent and friendly, but all they could say was, "your food is on its way." Our uni-versal XO pasta and pork belly arrived. Loved the pasta, but it was one-note by the end. The pork belly was delicious, but half of it tasted "propane-like". Both the portions were small and felt more like a small plate. For dessert, we had the matcha cheese tart and pot of gold. Both were delicious. We had the sampler size of the matcha tart so the ratio of tart to filling was uneven. However, I'm sure this wouldn't be the case if we had opted for the regular size.

Some dishes are out-of-this-world. Others are mediocre. It's odd... And it's universal - our large party all agreed on each dish. For example, the squid ink linguine is unbelievably great. So, while I recommend The Rise, that recommendation comes with list of dishes to avoid.

Jane

The food was excellent. One "large" plate or two "small" plates seem to be a good portion per person for quantity but sharing is encouraged. The squid ink pasta was our favourite and the rose lychee cocktail was smashing! Our server noted to us that it was his first day on the job and he still did an admirable job. We are looking forward to going back some time soon.

Vanya Singh

Absolutely delicious dine out! We ran with the Chicken Seoul good appetizer, uni-versal pasta and sizzling pho sure entree and the boba coma for dessert. All very solid dishes. Well seasoned and crispy fried chicken, creamy pasta, and an interesting and smokey sausage rendition of a Viet dish without the soupey bowl. Each felt fairly balanced and well thought out with very few ingredients overpowering the dish completely by itself. Worth a dine out day if you're looking for a solid menu for sure.

Evelyn C

Went there for brunch today, pretty disappointed. Poached egg is super soft which make the whole dish super wet. And they run out of tofu bacon first thing in the morning!? Not recommended

Its alright.. Think they are trying to be creative but odon noodles and fettuccine sauce dont mix.. Their food sounds super delicious but not the biggest fan. I heard their dinner menu is better?

We were celebrating our wedding anniversary at this fantastic place tonight. Truly delicious food, beautiful atmosphere and excellent service. Everything we tried was unique and cooked to perfection. Food was great but absolutely horrible service. We (group of 9) were one of two groups in the restaurant and it took them over an hour to make our drinks. At the half hour mark we asked them why it was taking them so long and they said it was so that it was because they were going to bring out all our cocktails together…but they brought our drinks one or two at a time so I’m not sure why it took so long. It took them another 45 minutes to make our food. Our server checked on us a max of 3 times in the 2ish hours we were there. We would’ve understood the wait if it had been busy or if they had explained to us why it was taking so long but, again, there was only one other group of 3 aside from us. We waited 20 minutes for our bill and we were still charged the 18% large group gratuity fee. It would have been fine (I understand that large groups take more time to serve) if the service had been decent but we were literally ignored for the majority of our time there. My colleague told them that they should not have charged the 18% gratuity for such horrible service and they just said “sorry”. No explanations as to why the service was bad, no offer to let us pick how much we wanted to tip.
