First time here in years. $11 parking for 90 minutes outside, just fyi y'all. We were greeted kindly, and seated immediately at the table by the window to the left of the front door entrance inside. Our Bookenda reservation process was smooth and efficient. While the table location was ideal for distancing from others, and offered a nice viewing of the rest of the restaurant, we were in direct audible range of the gentleman host/greeter who spoke to everyone at Volume 11. It was quite irritating and my ears were ringing from his voice that seemed like shouting at top volume to each customer coming in to check in. I could not stay to order dessert because of this. Our server was on point and very cordial and checked in on us often. Dinner - I regret ordering the trout dinner; I saw pictures of a blackened trout on Yelp, and was hoping to get that, but instead it was a small, pink portion of trout steak, the skin was not crispy but rather slimy. The entree was laid over what I imagine Uncle Ben's rice tastes like - overcooked, large-grained, not tender, and with sad greens. I don't even want to share a photo of it. I didn't return or reorder something because of how loud it was there; I just wanted to eat and go. The meat and cheese board was fantastic, nice value, and a photo worth sharing. I hope they bring back the salmon sampler appetizer that is a highlight of many photos related to this restaurant; I was sad that they did not offer this.

A lot of good food, highly satisfied!

We arrived at happy hour and grazed right into dinner. The pan fried oysters and crab&shrimp cakes were super fresh tasting. Excellent. Perfectly seasoned, ample portion. Main course was a hit. We give rave reviews for the short ribs. Those baby peas tasted like childhood in the garden. Veal piccata and risotto to die for. Definitely order this meal. Super service, and the place ended up packed on a Tuesday evening. They are doing everything right! Please open one of your restaurants in Kelowna.

Wow! The candied pork is delicious. Great restaurant for business meetings, dates, or celebrations. The staff is really friendly and accommodating.

Nikki Moe

Friendly wait staff, great food. lovely BC wine. Able to walk in and eat. The pappardelle pasta was wonderful.

Amazing food and service! Was there in September for a friends birthday. They are so easy going and accommodating. We were able to try a wide selection of their menu and everything was fantastic. Can't wait until I go back next!

Charming staff, great food and atmosphere, despite the many people who were present when we arrived without a reservation, they found some place for us at the bar to enjoy our dinner. BTW, an "entrée" was enough.

Reza Aein (rez)

Everything is nice and the food almost always tastes delicious. They have many food specials every day. The only issue is that the food usually comes a bit late, and sometimes it is overly salted.

Flying pig is the perfect place for food, drinks, good service and a great atmosphere! The idea that people come here for pork is just as silly as me thinking cactus club is a great place to enjoy a cactus. Don’t be naive and think this is a place specifically for pork :P it has everything! To start I’d recommend sharing the brussel sprouts & humbolt squid, pause for a shot of tequila because everyone knows brussel sprouts go great with tequila.. then order the roasted chicken with a glass of le Vieux pin Pino Gris ( if you’re less of a meat eater you can enjoy the baked veggie rigatoni which is perfectly delicious) and don’t forget the extra chocolaty cake which is great to share with a group ????

I always seem to come back here, even after moving away to the USA, and they never disappoint me. One slight downfall is that they don't take reservations for dinner, even if you have a large party. You just have to go there and try your luck. If you don't go too late it's usually not so bad. The food is always good, though it might be too rich for some. Their lobster prawn risotto is a go to for me, but again, it is very rich. Most of their dishes is a pretty safe bet, just go and order what you think you will like and you aren't likely to be unhappy with it. I love their Cesar's too, and I don't usually drink at all!

lina jimmy

Amazing food! If you like Brussels sprouts you have to return their dish. Absolutely amazing!

Emily L.

We came here for some sharable food. We ordered from their small plates and the food was amazing! We shared the cauliflower (middle dish) I had the risotto (left dish) and my boyfriend had the Mac and cheese (right dish). They were able to make the cauliflower and risotto gluten free! I love this place, it's so cozy and has some wonderful confort food :)

Disappointed with how things have gone downhill since its early days. We came here for lunch during the weekday, it was surprisingly dead with only a occupied tables. I had the wild seafood pappardelle ($24) which came with mussels, clams, fish and prawns. The pasta was way overcooked and falling apart. The seafood was not fresh. I had one really bad mussel in the mix that left a bad taste in my mouth – literally and figuratively. The rose pasta sauce was nice. We also shared the bacon cauliflower casserole ($8.50) which was only okay and didn’t really stand out. The bacon was overcooked and everything just looked like a hot mess. Service was very slow, considering that it wasn’t busy. It took a long time to get our food. Unfortunately, due to this bad experience, I would not return again and would not recommend to others.

Jisu Kim

Went here for lunch/brunch on the weekend and dined on their "street patio". It's a nice set-up with tasteful furniture and plants. Service was great. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts are AMAZINGLY GOOD! We stayed into Happy Hour which had some good deals. Highly recommended during these COViD-times!

Been there for brunch, great food and great service! If you don't like places with loud noise, try to go when it's quieter.

Ro S

Reserved for dinner with 3 friends, requested ahead of time to be seated in a quieter area but we were basically put right in the middle of the room. They were really nice in accommodating us though and shifted us over. The jungle juice was refreshing and not overly sweet. The food was decent, but took forever to arrive, which I don’t mind but one of my friends was quite hungry. The bone marrow although super tasty is not a shareable plate, with only 2 pieces of bread. My mushroom pappardelle was clumped, with very little seasonal vegetables. Honestly, seems like a great place to come to eat and drink, but the ambiance is quite loud and make sure to put your order early!

Sophia Negar Afshar

Amazing service, delicious food. Great for groups. Cozy atmosphere and cute decor. The prawn risotto is a must try. We also ordered the short ribs, cauliflower, pastas and poutine as well as maple pie and lemon tart. I would definitely love to eat there again!

James Zhang

The risotto is good, but I'm biased because I like anything seafood. The steak was not cooked to our liking and the Bone Marrow Cheezy Bread is okay, but not stellar.

Blair Hofer

Delicious! I was hesitant about take out but it turned to be fantastic!

Ruby J

Came here for lunch on a weekday, and it got busy very quickly. Overall nice atmosphere, great service and fresh food. We had the grab cakes, paella and trout. All recommended.

Jose Ma. Enage

Service was good. Staff were very friendly. Rocket beet salad was good. Not quite as good as Earl's Rocket salad. I had the pork rib with poutine. Pork was dry. Poutine was not great at all. Would not recommend the poutine. 3/5 is giving them credit for their staff. I probably won't return .

Rick Granger

Friendly engaging staff, Ryan tending the bar is awesome, great food at a reasonable price (Yaletown) nice atmosphere, low key and intimate, as a breakfast go-to or lunch.????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Daisy Yuen

Went on a Tuesday night as two couples, arrived at about 7:10 and were seated by 7:30. They offer to call your phone when they're ready for you. The mains ordered were the pork rack (with pulled pork poutine and vegetables as an included side) and the short ribs (with bone marrow and mashed potato as included sides). Both were excellent. The bulk of the pork was lean but tender and moist, with a delicious ribbon of (non-chewy, melt-in-your-mouth) fat along one edge. The fat was also slightly charred which was really great for flavour. One of our four did not order an entree but instead had the short rib macaroni side as her entree, and it was actually quite large and super delicious. Portion sizes were generous. Additional orders on the table included a few glasses of wine (reasonable selection and pricing for glasses), the parmesan brussel sprouts side to share (delicious but not quite as good as Trattoria's - huge amount though), the bone marrow cheesy bread (totally underwhelming, tasted just like ho-hum cheese bread), and a caesar salad (overdressed and unremarkable... pretty bad). We finished with a single slice of pumpkin pie shared between 4, as we were all stuffed. It was really good. Overall a fantastic meal that left us full, satisfied, and with piqued taste buds, and cheaper than nearby chain offerings like the Keg or Cactus Club.

Kieran Fanning

Great happy hour and nice staff

Ian Allen

When before a Canucks game and it was busy, but the service was good. Hit the happy hour and had some amazing salmon cakes and brussel sprouts. The managers chatted with us a few time to check in and we very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed it.

Zohar Levin

Food is always delicious. Actually to my surprise had best customer service I’ve received in a while here. Lovely server. Unfortunately I cannot remember her name.

Alex Chan

Went there for brunch with a group of friends. Mediocre food, OK ambiance, OK service. Generally not a bad place, but nothing to write home about. There are so many better choices in the area.

Kitty Y

Service was great. Food was fine but not a wow factor especially for a $19 burger

Ed Hsieh

Nice place. Nice atmosphere. Food was great. Staff was great.

Steph D

I dined at The Flying Pig for Happy Hour and ordered the salmon cakes. I wasn't particularly hungry so this was just the right amount of food and I felt quite full after. The salmon cakes were delicious and I loved the pickle and dill dipping sauce that came with it.

krista maracle

Been several times over the years and the service is always stellar. Wine selection is decent. I think the food has slipped a bit compared to before but it's still better than average.

Jora Nijjar

We went on a Satuday night, and it was busy. Perhaps a bit too busy for the kitchen to handle. We had called ahead and made a reservation, but when we arrived, were seated at a table that appeared to have been squeezed in right by the entrance to the kitchen (meh) and the washrooms (the door was often open, so we had a nice view of a toilet throughout the evening). My wife had the risotto, and it came to the table with the consistency of porridge - really soupy. When our server came to check on us, we showed her the dish and she agreed it didn't look right, and returned it to the kitchen. She offered to bring us a new one, but we declined. It was removed from our bill. I had rigatoni, that I thought was fine, but not great. The tomato sauce lacked the zest you'd expect from a good, fresh sauce. All-in-all, I'm pretty sure our visit to The Flying Pig suffered from the place being just a bit too busy on a Saturday night.

Jhon Flow

Good drinks and delicious food. Service ain't bad either.

Aster Fan

Great service, wait staff were very attentive and fast. Shrimp and lobster risotto was a tasty snack after a day of shopping. Tasty draft on tap! Super busy place.

Laura B

I was very disappointed with my meal. I ordered the fish special. The fish was nothing special but the sauce was very good. It came with rissoto and vegetables but there was not enough rissoto. I am not a big eater but I was hungry after I finished. It is a good thing my son or husband did not order the same fish dish as they would have been starved. My husband had pasta special and found it was dry and rubbery with too much cheese. I had heard great things about this restaurant but was not happy with our meals.

Capt. Anthony

Every staff was so kind ???????????? Food was so delicious ???? but the portions were small

Nigel Newton

Horrible experience!!! I ordered the most expensive entree on the menu which was the crab crusted halibut, it tasted dry and bland af and the green beans were undercooked ????????????not to mention the service sucked too, the waiter wasn’t attentive at all and obviously treated me differently than the table next to me (maybe because I was eating alone). Overall I’m very disappointed, can’t believe I came all the way from California to eat this *!!!

Ary ilon

Service here was great! Food was exceptional... jeez, I had the absolute best brussel sprouts and cauliflower casserole ive ever had. The decor was unique and everyone was polite. They had the heated outdoor patio with a fire pit that would have been perfect for dessert after date night. So cute! Im looking forward to coming back the next time I’m in Vancouver.

C G

The place was a bit too trendy for my taste. I played it safe and got pasta and I was very impressed by it. The food was fresh and flavorful. We also tried the onion rings, fries au poutine, sriracha chicken, and the crab cakes. I loved it all!

James Turner

Nice place. Good staff. Great food and drinks. Can be very busy.

Kashmir Deol

Good food. Although happy hour menu items are limited. Prices are above the cheap happy hours but you get what you pay for. Service was also great.

Perry Farazi

K I'll bite. I didn't expect to be so full from the soup and the poutine I couldn't finish all my food! All well seasoned and honestly delicious. Our server was quite good considering it was really busy for dinner. Con the lighting is really dark in the evening cause it's pretty much just the candles I get mood lighting but boy it was hard to see when you have vision problems. There's also a really small step up to the restaurant or down when you come out. It's easy to miss and I've tripped a few times.

Amanda Levy

Great food and good atmosphere! Would def come back for the appetizers! The food was also reasonably priced!

Geo Vslrs

One of my fav places to enjoy snacks and drinks...

Rob Mitzel

The halibut, prawn and lobster risotto is so good. we also love the salmon fishcakes and the seafood paella. Ophelia is commendable for being attentive and prompt. thanks for the outstanding customer service! highly recommended!

Laura Klepachek

Always a fun atmosphere. Service is good and the servers both male and female are always well-dressed polite and friendly.

Caleb

Awesome happy hour

reda bouatta

Had dinner with a friend here. They have a really nice service. The host who served us gave a really nice sitting area. He even had us wait for happy hour so we could get a nice deal!! Did not like the truffle fries though, they were too dry for me and so they tasted bitter..

Christopher Robbins

For an upper end restaurant, the food and service was really great, the evening atmosphere was really good as well, real lamp oil candles so maybe not as bright as some people prefer, but truly an experience. It is downtown but they do have a kid's menu available, however even on a week day I wouldn't exactly recommend a family visit after 6pm. Would definitely recommend this restaurant for a group outing or a lovely evening with someone special.

Quinn Duffy

Before I begin this review I think it is important to understand my position on sausage. I find them a tolerable part of the garnish at the best of times and downright offensive at worst. It has always felt like a superfluous menu item to provide the illusion of choice against bacon for breakfast. Flying Pig decides to up the ante by ensuring my breakfast comes with both bacon and sausage. Naturally I chase the sausage away from the rest of my plate ensuring minimal contact and cross contamination with the delicious part if the breakfast I chose to order. After the dust settles it is just me and sausage left, me feeling happy and full and the sausage looking very much left out and lonely. So heck it, I decide to try one. And imagine my surprise when this thing actually tasted good! I couldn't believe it. I made my buddy try it and he agreed, tastey and soft. So there you are, had breakfast, the sausage was good.

Kayla Elderton

The food is yummy and it can get to be quite busy for dinner. They don't take reservations for dinner so get there early. The sides are massive so it is possible to eat just a few sides. The brussel sprouts are a bit more spicy than expected. The pasta sauce was delicious, the pasta itself can probably be cooked a bit more. It is a bit loud to chat, especially if you are at a communal table.

Siska

We came there on Sunday, I ordered 4 menus, unfortunately all of them were overcooked. The fries were like burned and hard. The trout tastes bland, egg was weird. However the people works there were so nice and lovely. So the credits are for them.

JB

On Friday July Second the day after the restrictions were lifted I needed a table for 7 for my 24th birthday the most helpful Andrew and(Host/server perhaps) and our other server (Didnt get her name )got our group seated gave me a shot and a slice of cake, our needs were taken care of the food was perfect and a night I will not forget. Would come back in a heart beat the most lovely service and staff!

Stephen Ting

Dinner special for 2 steak and trout was delicious. Service was great. Bourbon bacon ceasar was awesome! Would definitely go back

J Basten

Excellent experience every time! Great staff and great food. Highly recommend.

Thomas Donker

Old English feeling Canadian food experience. Great flavors in both food and beverage options. Recommend that you give yourself enough time to enjoy something from each course. It's well worth it.

Otus Pare

Excellent food and drink, as well as service. We started with a salmon sampler and the chili lime steak appetizer. Both were excellent. My meal was the mussels, which were phenomenal (not a single one didn't open). We had a bottle of red (don't remember which) recommended which was great (we ordered a second one) and the walnut old fashioned was a good nightcap.

Daniel Turner

Amazing happy hour with great service! Love that they finally have a patio at this location. A must try!!

Matt Jackman Wong

Got half chicken and classics poutine! It was fine. Little bit slow but I understand it's happy hours time.

Bay Si

Good value happy hour for food and drinks. Busy. Attentive, even if rushed, service. Upscale casual atmosphere. I would go back for happy hour. Edit: By rushed, I don't mean that they rush patrons out the door. But the bar and wait staff look rushed to serve everyone.

Harjas Narang

The bologanese pasta was really good. The serving staff was all male.

Monica Sanchez

If I could give this restaurant more than a 5 star rating I would!!! I love this place so much. The food was melting in my mouth, the drinks were SO good and the atmosphere was lovely. Ps, the salmon cakes are a MUST! AMAZING PLACE.

Jaime Callica

We were not sure if we could bring a stroller but they were very welcoming and even have high chairs if needed. The food was excellent and their prices were very reasonable. The portions were perfect, we ate it all and were full, no waste yet not still hungry. Service was very friendly, no long waits and he checked on us regularly.

Mark Ma

Honestly, this happy hour menu rocks! And this is coming from someone who thought their dinner menu couldn't be beat (gotta get the salmon three ways)! Definitely a must if you are in the area.

Brittany Nguyen

14oz ribeye, was cooked to perfection. To follow had the lemon tart that was amazing. Service was friendly, not rushed and would definitely recommend a visit.

Paula Douglas

Service is really good. I wanted a lively atmosphere and we certainly got that. The food is good, nothing memorable, and it felt a bit expensive for what we got. Although I am finding a lot of restaurants feel pricey lately. I guess all those property taxes, environmental rules, and the higher minumum wages are showing up in the prices. Tipping at a minimum 15% is pretty much mandatory now.

Damian Herman

Gorgeous interior, a very simple and artsy menu on a board, friendly service, and splendid food. The starting banana bread is perfect. It's a place that I can't believe not more of my friends know about because they really should. This place deserves to be more packed.

Sara Cortez

Good food and service. Price is reasonable for the food quality and services. I went to the ones in Yaletown. They have other locations, at gastown and Olympic village.

Stephnie G

Worst experience & service ever! Highly over rated. Came for a 50th Birthday, it was a mess, too many issues to list but we were not attended to whatsoever. We waited super long for drinks & then just weren’t offered more, my friend never got her order taken, had to flag down the waitress, none of us ate together even though we order together & two of our friends never even got their entree’s! We waited FOREVER for the bday cake when we just wanted to leave at that point & an equally long time for the bill. When someone mentioned something to the manager on duty he said ‘well you are a large party’. We were less than 20 and super easy going. I am a server, I know what it takes, should have been a walk in the park! These were just some of the issues, it was actually quite rediculous how bad it was. I emailed restaurant twice but have gotten no response. Won’t be returning & im sure neither will anyone else. So many great places to visit, this is not one!

Tommy Lau

If you can get in it is a great place to meet friends and a have a meal. Be prepared for a high spirited environment. The place is naturally busy for the food and great service is worth it. The happy hour is a favourite, of course. Enjoy!

Min Chong

Food, atmosphere and the drinks are all amazing here. Just a bit pricey but happy hour is the way to go!

Dennis Watson

Hi my name is Paavlena Madhivanan and I’m 23yrs old I love flying pig because it has great potential and super magnificent ratings for unique dining services.

Jun Amuan

I love having date nights here!! The food and drinks are great and service is always good.

Carlos Fernandes

I really enjoy this restaurant and location. I have been for brunch. I thought the service was very friendly, and was very satisfied with the food.

Roxanne Greeson

Great happy hours (love the mac and cheese). Only thing I wasn't please was the receptionist brought us to the dining area without asking if we were there for happy hour or not which created awkward moments when we asked our waitress for happy hour menu before we were told we need to be seated in the other section.

Z D

Sorry to say - quite a poor experience today. Chicken was tasty but was on a bed of stone cold potatoes which they didn't do anything to rectify or adjust the bill. Poor service.

Charmagne R

The coffee tastes "jus de chaussettes ", tastelessly bitter. The dishes are ok, too salty however, but I don't like the restaurants that ignore coffee quality.

Adam Johnson

Good food & friendly service. Open floor plan results in a loud noisy atmosphere.

Michelle Chartrand

Good food, great service ????

Dean Powers

Very helpful waiter. Gave us directions to Butchart gardens and layout of subway system. Also - ginger beer!

Ian Chau

Food was OK but not worth the price. There are a lot of other better options around the area. Ambiance was nice and service was good.

Tabby E

Amazing food with heaps of flavor & welcoming staff

Hooman Tavakolizadeh Noghabi

Excellent food and service

Jennefer Boudreau

The eggs benny weren't tasty at all.. Dry breads, awful salad.. Hollandaise sauce had butter and oil flavor nothing else. The basic ones and salmon ones as well.. That was a waste money and time for weekend brunch. And it stinks I'm not sure if that's from washroom or the kitchen. They need to clean up the place. One star for interior.

Peter Richardson

Great food and service. Look forward to returning.

Martin Lui

It was great dinner for us. We ordered chicken and mussel food. Both of them were very soft and source also great. I want to go again.

sahel sharifymoghaddam

Great brunch spot. Did not need to make reservations. Easy parking in Yaletown on Sunday morning.

James Lamers

Warning. Not a place for vegetarians. I dont want to give low stars to hurt the business, but just letting others know.

Anthony McCullom

First timer at this restaurant and heard good reviews on this restaurant group. However they fell short of their food. I was with a small group but seated way at the back. I decided to try the dine out Vancouver menu. The server was friendly and welcoming. Read out the specials and answered any questions. Since Im a fan of Bone Marrow dishes, I really wanted to try to substitute for my Carpaccio for the Bone marrow dish, but the server mention just to add a piece for $5. I liked suggestion, and ordered the Grilled Striploin with charred broccolini and peppercorn sauce. My appetizer came out with my bone Marrow. The Carpaccio is the same as any other restaurant, they could have been a little creative on this. But it was cold and my bone marrow was STONE cold. Zero seasoning and no bread with it. So Server came on to check on us, I told him and he said he would take it off my bill. But I don't mind paying, I willing to give the kitchen another try, to showcase their food. Dinner was a little behind about 45 minutes. The steak was the highlight of the meal, charred perfectly to my liking. The peppercorn sauce was delicious but I would like a bit more and some salt. Again my bone marrow was missing. My server checked on it, but when it arrived, it was a little warm on the top with a bit more seasoning but cold overall. I didn't bother asking another one, cause I would expect the same outcome. The best bone marrow dish I had was at the dockside restaurant. Overall, the kitchen really failed to deliver, service was good. I'm surprised with 3 locations, they cannot season their food. At least serve it warm. Twice I had cold food. Unacceptable. My suggestion they should really check on the food and get a support staff to check the tables for water and other needs. And the other comments that it takes long for food is very true. Definitely a Pass for me.

Soheyl Vakili

Awesome one-of-a-kind food and drinks just a few short steps away from the Yaletown-Roundhouse station on Canada Line. The atmosphere and choice of craft beer is top notch.

Amber Allen

You have to come here to see bartender Bobby Nunez alone. This guy is a workhorse and spins some of the best drinks you'll swallow. Pure gem.

Jack Chang

Came here with family and friends on a Saturday evening specifically for a few drinks. Unfortunately, the service was so bad I recommend people not come here at all. See Jess C's review below. I felt embarrassed to have my family and friends experience "Canadian service". Horrible service.

Melinda Harmati

Nice brunch, will come again next time

Lars Konge

Fantastic service and meal well prepared hitting the taste buds.

Marcel Vanderwekken

I went there for lunch with some colleagues. I didn't like the place for several reasons. First, for the five of us, the waitress brought a few pieces of bread and little butter. It was awkward for each one of us to try to grab a piece of bread and add some butter on it. Then came the food. Two problems with the food, portion is small, and very low on seasoning. I had to keep putting salt and pepper to adjust the taste. Oh, and I had to ask the waitress to bring me the salt and pepper shakers since our table had none. I left the place still feeling hungry. This is definitely not a choice for dining for me.

Carly Chadwick

One of the most epic brunch places in Yaletown. The coffee and food is excellent. It's a little loud and tight, so when I'm picking a place to take a client/friend I do have to consider that. I recommend the signature corned beef hash.

Miguel Ferrer

Good place for Americans crazy Canadian food really good service and staff

It's Me

Loved the atmosphere and the drinks were good (The Black Walnut Old Fashion was super good) but the food was not as good as I would have expected. Ordered the Maple Pork and it was okay but not for the price. The saving grace was the Truffle Mac and Cheese which was really good. Would come back again but to try a different menu item and more drinks

Pearl Wong

Been here a few times and experience isn't great. Sat on patio and were forgotten about. After ordering, food service was quick. My friend had a complaint about his steak and got a replacement after everyone else's plates had already been cleared. No discount for him. I'm disappointed overall in service and taking care of clients. Just seemed certain things were missing and was slow. I ordered the passion fruit margarita which was good but didn't taste like passion fruit. The short rib was amazing and I recommend having the bone marrow with bread. Not sure I will be back again. This is my third time and I've never been impressed.

Victor Chen (grooVC)

Decent food, acceptable price and service, would recommend 5/10

Marcos Moreno

I find The Flying Pig a hit or miss. I tried the Yaletown location and I find the food constantly underwhelming. However, this past Sunday I ate at the Olympic Village location and the food tasted more fresh, the service was excellent and the vibe was awesome. However, since this is a review of the Yaletown location, it gets only 3 stars.

Ezz Ghanem

Restaurant is beautiful, loved the mood. Staff are friendly too. Food was actually offensive. Squid was bland and greasey. Salad looked like it was poured out of a bag from iga. Burger was actually ok. Way too expensive for what it is

Jessica Ly

My most recent visit was great. Attentive staff, friendly atmosphere and the food was really good. Our server was awesome, she made sure we had the best time and overall my girlfriend and I had a really enjoyable evening. Thanks again!

Carl B

The wings I had here were the best wings I have ever had. Spicy and delicious.

Cortez Johnson

Service was Great! Our server was amazing. Good was great. Will be back. Music was not to loud and was able visit with people beside me with out yelling. Thanks for a great evening.

Miss L

Always good food, always good service! I've been here for lunches, dinners, and brought my family in because it's always great. A really good Happy Hour menu also!

Spencer Giles

Was a really really good pulled pork sandwich but I think they should do brunch every day of the week, even if just a limited menu!

Douglas Sum

We made reservations at this restaurant for dinner. They have a few locations and we went to the one in Yaletown as the vibe is always good in this area. The restaurant itself along with the ambiance and atmosphere was really hip and fun. The drinks were amazing and the service was really good. We ordered the meat and cheese board as an appie and while the other appies looked good too, the entrees were not that great at all. We had four in our party and ordered the veal, the wild mushroom pappardelle and the pork rack. All three dishes were horrible. The veal tasted gooey and we sent it back. The wild mushroom pasta was really bland with absolutely no flavor and the pork rack seemed overcooked. The poutine that came with the pork rack was nothing special and I have had better poutine at fast food mall restaurants. This is a good place if you are looking for drinks and appies, but you would be much better to go elsewhere for entrees as they are not that good here. For me, eating in a hip area is a lot about the food and the taste here is lacking.

Bill Roques

Great service. Good location. Food is okay

Nishad Jamaldeen

Nice atmosphere. Good food. Good prices during Happy hours.

CHERYLE STADLER

You are paying for location , mood and good service. I don't even remember what I eat that night so that's the best review I can give for now. For drinks and a date can work but not for an amazing "food experience ".

Malika Lim

Oh my goodness I LOVE THE FLYING PIG! The owners are awesome and genuinely invested in the experience of their patrons. The food is wow, holy moly, mouthwatering deliciousness. And their caesars.. are ..phenomenal (and believe me I do not say that lightly). We’ve been to the FP a few times but this particular experience was awesome. Our server seemed new so less experience with the detail and timing but even then, wow. I appreciate the open pass to their kitchen where the expo ensured the highest standards and quality before the plates left the kitchen. I appreciate that the owners were so hands on and not only were visible but were invested. The food flavour and quality was spectacular. My only recommendation would be that the BOH keeps their lockers closed as it was an unwanted distraction from the experience of watching the crew prep and plate with the confined proximity- which in retrospect probably wouldn’t be noticed by someone without OCD. Overall 9/10 highly recommend.

Visiting from Seattle and had a lovely brunch on a rainy Saturday morning. The atmosphere was comfortable and was complimented by our window view nook. The food was delectable. Not overly complicated but still very interesting and tantalizing to the taste buds. We had the special which was the corned beef hash with soft poached eggs, a side of pork paradise and a side of cut fruit. He had black tea I had a caesar, delish. The wait staff was also wonderful, very attentive and had helpful suggestions. Will definitely come back with friends.

Brad LM

One of the best atmospheres for dining. Great service with friendly staff. Had the salmon/New York steak platter. Phenomenal. Highly recommended for casual or fancier dining nights.

Rob Cooper

Good food for the price in Yaletown. The staff are extremely friendly.

jr longley

Had a great experience. Server was lovely, informative, checked in on us regularly but not invasively, didn't eat this time as we were just having some late night happy hour drinks... A staple in the city, I'll definitely be back!

Reza Saadatmand

Great attentive service, great food and drink. $5 happy hour house wine was surprisingly delicious :)

Richard Chong

Absolutely loved it here! Great service, food and ambiance!

PrincessRiccia

Always offering great food and attentive service. Don't miss out the happy hour, as it carries incredibly low prices and same high-end quality of food and service.

Jad Bou Mattar

A wonderful place to drink, but may not the wonderful place to eat, the food there are so so, but the waiter is quite nice!

Alexandra Pintea

Fantastic modern Canadian food served with a smile on the streetside outdoor patio. Great relaxed ambience and meals from between $20-30 and desserts $7-10. A selection of 5 or 6 well priced local beers.

Robert A. Hill

Went during lunchtime on a weekday. Place wasnt that busy so my girlfriend and I got a table pretty fast. Had the bone marrow & cheese bread to start. She had a carbonara pasta, and I had halibut fish and chips. Everything tasted great, would come back again to try their other menu items.

Adam Dymitruk

Bad experience with one plate that was uneatable. The rest was fine. I sent you an email to give you details.

Keith Wilson

Food is delicious, service is great. Had a fun night. We had new york steak and seafood paella. Wine wednesday! :)

ben k

great local dishes , good for visitors , most of food mateiral are from local BC or vancouver . I think its really great for friends and family especially for forienger travellers

Ben Valenzuela

I am always amazed at the food quality for a chain. This place knows how to grill veggies perfectly. Never soggy!

Golden Rules of Wine and Travel

Had a mediocre entree and still left the restaurant starving. The beef short rib was rather dry and the seafood was cooked as any other restaurant would do it, but with much higher prices. Just stick with their lunches and not their dinners.

Matt Whalen

very limited choices, for vegetarians. welcoming staff- slow but good service. Foods ok, not worth the price.

Wolfgang Bremer

Not bad but the strawberry shortcake had a hard biscuit, strawberries were not fresh and the whipped cream was over whipped. A dish of gelato ice cream would have been nicer. Service was good and main course was tasty. Potatoes were nicely seasoned.

Matthew Semik

Man if I was not half full from late lunch and snack. I would ordered an appetizer as the fried chicken was good as my friend ordered it as his meal. The food here is excellent and delicious. I ordered the pork chop... wow.... it is so good and complements to the chefs. The chop had a good crust and cooked to perfection. Sometimes there are times you do need chimichurri sauce but the sauce is really good. Other restaurants' chimichurri sauce is either too oily or not much flavour. The chimichurri sauce here has taste and flavour such the herbs being used which enhances the porkchop to a whole new level. The power level of "over 9000!!!!!!!" (Sorry Dragonball Z joke). The poutine is also good as well. The dessert is good too. The size of the cake surprised me as I thought it would be a tiny or regular slice but the portion of the cake get your money's worth. Even the service is superb.

Thomas Reneau

Used to like this place, but not so much anymore. We were asked to leave because we were staying too long after we paid. Awkward. Well, normally I just eat, drink, pay and quickly leave because I know I am only there to help restaurant's bottom line. That's how it should be, right?

J Y

Had the mussel and it was pretty fishy tasting, like it wasn’t quite fresh or something. Other food in my party was pretty mediocre as well.

Carey Lefebvre

Great atmosphere, food was decent. Steak was a little over cooked but great flavor. Overall would definitely recommend.

Jingya Geng

The rib and bone marrow dish was okay. Not a lot of bone marrow and the meat was a bit on the dry side, but it was still good though. I also found the lobster risotto side dish to be delicious! I definitely recommend trying this place.

Gayan Pathirana

First time at the flying pig yale town location The valentines day share platter was awesome great service and ambience We will be back ????

Steven Blomkamp

Honestly love this place so much. Have been back several times with amazing food and service. Their happy hour menu is awesome, went with a girlfriend after yoga and it really hit the spot ????

Shirley

Went there for the good reviews about the pork chop and i found out that they don’t serve it any more. Despite that, food, desert and Cocktails were great. Staff werw kind as well

Cody Standing

I was surprised that this place was a chain - it definitely has a unique vibe when you eat there. It gets pretty busy around 7, any day of the week, so make a reservation or try to eat at off peak times. Also - try the crispy brussels sprouts. Seriously. So delicious!

Brenda May

Amazing food and very friendly service! Highly reccomend

Albert Portillo

Happy hours made us happy ????. Good food and great service!

Jenny Nakagawa

The atmosphere was great an we had awesome appies the seafood pappardelle was superb highly recommend it. Really friendly staff and really accommodating and I would definitely done there again

Tim S

Awesome food and bevys....hit this place up, you won't regret it!

Nao Tomorin

Great food and service. Ian is a gem behind the bar and has a wealth of knowledge.

Orville J Bentley

I have read reviews about this place not liking Asian and Black people, myself being First Nations; I totally agree this place is not welcoming to races that are not Caucasian. It was perhaps the most unwelcoming experience I have had at a restaurant in our multicultural city. I don't know if the wait staff are just racist themselves, yet this attitude has to come from somewhere.

Jimmy He

BEWARE: Long wait times and burgers always cooked to well done unless you ask otherwise. I wasn’t asked how I would’ve liked my wagyu burger to be cooked while ordering so I expected a medium-ish burger. However, I was surprised to find my burger well done and bone dry. I asked our waitress if this was how burgers were generally cooked here and she said that she believed so. She was very kind and took the burger off of our final check though. I think the most glaring problem with The Flying Pig is the extremely long wait time between ordering and getting our food. After already waiting for 40+ minutes on our food, our waitress told us she forgot to sign off on our order and we ended up waiting for an additional 20 minutes before receiving our meal. I think this shows the restaurant’s lack of structure and professionalism. However, The Flying Pig’s one saving grace is it’s banana breads, which, served warm with powdered sugar and a dash of maple syrup, is well worth the cost of one Canadian dollar per slice.

Ray K

Great neighborhood restaurant in trendy Yaletown part of Vancouver. I enjoyed a fresh seafood lunch: Pacific rock fish!

권정은 (Jeongeun)

Came here on a weekend for lunch, and it was not too busy! Food is quite good for it's price, and service was nice

Charlotte Charlie

This rating is in part due to personal preferences: I think the restaurant was way too loud. Service was 5/5. Food was 2/5. The trout sat on a bed of cold, instant-like rice. We ordered the surf and turf for two: tuna, veggies, shrimp, steak, risotto, and salad. The steak was nice, but not enough to save the rest of the dish: cold tuna, though seared, a very oily salad, and the rissoto was more like congee than risotto. Overall, the flavours were .. amateurish. I had a local lager, which was nice.

Roman Siromakha

Just had a late lunch here. Place was empty. Took a long time to place our order. Food was ok. No one asked how the food was. No one asked if we had everything we needed. Asked for the check when we sat there with pile of plates in front of us. No one asked if we wanted coffee or anytime. It will be unlikely that I would return and I definitely do not recommend this place.

Jesse (Jeltown)

Had a dinner in Yaletown branch. The service was aweful. At first, It took around 15min for someone to come and take our order. Again for checkout.... it took another 10 min after our plates were removed from our table to get our bill (I asked for bill immediately after our food was finished). I thought to myself that surely they will bring the machine so that I can pay.... but I was wrong... 15 min passed and nothing happened. I eventually went to the main door to pay. I made a comment to the front desk that the service was awful. I’m generally OK with these circumstances but this time I really lost it as I felt that no one really cared about us in the restaurant.

George Coman

Veal Picatta is fantastic! Light and flavorful. Black walnut old fashioned has just a hint of the sweet creamy walnut that makes it addicting.

Simon

Great service and prices during happy hour. Food was good and is everything you expect at a upscale restaurant.

Patrick Randall

Really good food and the desserts are some of the best in all of Yaletown. Best place to go for lunch if you are looking for a nice sit down spot.

chikichicky

Went there for the good reviews about the pork chop and i found out that they don’t serve it any more. Despite that, food, desert and Cocktails were great. Staff werw kind as well

Daphne Tan

I was greeted by a friendly team who promptly sat me at a cute little table by the window, at my request. As it was 6:00, happy hour was just wrapping up and the lounge area was completely full. Keep in mind, you can only order happy hour specials in the lounge, not the restaurant. I had a glass of the Malbec to start, which was fresh and delish, as was the Red Rooster Pino Gris that I paired with the salmon/halibut dish. We also sampled the chicken with mash and veggies, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, the service was good, the food was good and the atmosphere was trendy and friendly. Would recommend.

Chris Schlichter

Great restaurant with very nice atmosphere. The food is very good and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Christopher Strand

Super busy although staff still manage to provide excellent and flying service. Food is good, satisfying, not the best though. It was good hanging out there for a change. It's very noisy inside so not appropriate for conversations.

Jan Fitzgerald

The happy hour specials are good value. Service was exceptional. Food was fresh and tasty.

Ene Ochigbano

I was caught going to the Flying Pig with a big group as a vegetarian. There is not a lot of selections at all for veggie people, as guessed. I asked the waiter and he made a nice pasta with vegetables. It did the trick!

daniel hofing

The owner makes everything amazing even if you could have nothad a better day. He's super nice to his customers and even takes the time to make my niece smile and gives her ice cream. One time I didn't eat the split pea and ham soup not because it tasted bad, just not to my liking but I didn't complain because it wasn't their fault. I am just picky but the waitress noticed I barely touched it. She didn't ask but she automatically took it off the bill anyway. I was wowed by her generous decision. It felt like a no questions asked money back kind of treatment which was awesome because I didn't want to have to explain and feel awkward anyway. They really go out of their way to accommodate me. The only thing that kinda sucked at a different day was I had lobster risotto for take out and some other left overs wrapped up and they accidentally threw them away when I had paid first and quickly went to get the valet in advance to only come back and find out that they trashed it and had not offered to make me back some new ones so we just left. I didn't want to be petty and ask for a new one, but thought they would have definitely offer.

David Jones

Short rib was outstanding. Love that the food was piping hot. Red rooster pinot gris was on the spot. So delicious. Can't wait to go again

Anshu Arora

Nice vibe...great service....food was delicious..we ate too much. Fish special..pulled pork sammy...lobster and prawn risotto ....poutine...brussels sprouts. Local beer...Russell brewing and Stanley Park beers..all great!

Michel Condoroussis

Memorably amazing all around. The love put into each plate was evident, service was friendly and attentive. The quality of food was awesome, both visually and tasting. Portions were perfect.

Stephanie Adams

Loved my seafood dish! Service was good. Location is quaint , quiet part of Hamilton, closer to Davie St. I was very happy to have lunch there.

Isaac Gamba

Great at cakes. Too huge for one person but very good. Fine staff, nice location for people watching

Victor Vo

Service was great here! The server knew the menu very well, answered all our questions like portion sizes and most popular dishes. Restaurant had a fancy vibe; Perfect for casual dinner or dates. They also have live music. Food presentation was beautiful but the flavor was a bit lacking. Ex. Steak was kind of chewy and braised shortrib was a bit bland.

Sandra Lecki

Beef carpaccio and their happy hour menu on weekends from 4-6pm is awesome. Plenty of bar seats and windows open to the street. Great for large parties. Bartender is friendly and restrooms are clean. Parking is street and meters.

Bella Blanchard

The food is just okay!! I expected tastier dish and its quite pricey considering the size and quality!! With so many good restaurants in Yaletown area, i probably wouldn't go to this place again!

Sarah Nicholson

The drinks were a little pricey, but the food was amazing and a decent price too. The macaroni and cheese from their "bites" menu was amazing! We ordered a second portion because it was so creamy and delicious!

Angela Wright

Service was good but our meals were disappointing. Brussell sprouts were awful - sour, bitter, salty and over cooked. Short ribs weren't tender and were salty. Would have preferred wait staff had worn masks.

MrBeeHermann

Had the sliders and creme brulee which was delicious. Server was warm and friendly...

Shannon Haltiwanger

Had a yummy brunch here. Fast and great service. Good selection of wines and local beers. Ohmnoms!!

James Thomson

I cannot accurately quantify just how damn excellent the food is here. The service is just right too. It's one of the rare restaurants where every time I go I legitimately have a real hard time deciding what to get - everything is fantastic.

Baseborn Manjack

Meal type

Dexter K.

Dropped by for an impromptu date night on a Thursday night and was surprisingly busy. We managed to get a table fairly quickly without a reservation and service was attentive. The food however was average for the price therefore giving it a three star. Good place for the vibes though!

Joel Anseeuw

Ok happy hours, ok food, ok cocktails. Not a bad place. Not zany mind-blowing good either.

Mark Glimm

A taste of Canada. Food was excellent. Service was friendly and outstanding. Highly recommended.

camille cyr

Great location in yaletown. Really good service and great food. Kinda small menu but it didn't matter , food was delicious. Come in summer and sit outside too.

Michael Brewer

The customer service is outstanding. Joshua (aka Yoshi) was honestly the experience that maybe my weekend trip to Vancouver. The food itself was amazing steaks are the way to go. Granted the one criticism that I have are the steaks as a meal are pretty spartan, lots of empty room on the palate but I'm sure if you ask for veggies and anything you want the staff will bend over backwards to satisfy thier customers. Its an amazing experience with a slightly dark atmosphere. Perfect for a candle lit dinner date or a family dinner. I can't stress enough how awesome Joshua was! (Tips go directly to your personal server so tip well!!!)

Patrick Audley

Cool place for seafood and Pulled Pork Poutine! The roasted Brussel Sprouts were a hit. Order the Salmon/Halibut duo for some. Fishy sensation! The Poutine was a but too soggy for my taste, but then again, that IS Poutine. Excellent atmosphere and top notch service!

Mike Tong

Great happy hour! Service have definitely improved over the last few years.

Moogy Taktik

Terrific service, outdoor patio (street) seating

Lia Susanto

Great service from Paul at the bar and delicious appies to go with. Highly recommend the truffle mac and cheese!

Catherine Robbe

Great mix of casual, fun atmosphere combined with great service and delicious food. Perfect 5/7

Bryan Lau

Enjoyed happy hour on the patio! The service was attentive and the food was resonantly priced and tasty! We had the house white wine with mussels, beef carpaccio, salmon cakes and Mac and cheese. Highlight: the beef carpaccio was amazing. Ask for extra crostini. Could have done without the salmon cakes. Will definitely go back to try the reg menu

David Otoni

A group of us went after an event and it was excellent. It really want busy so service was very good. I had the roasted half chicken which was very tasty and what made it even better was that it was for the most part, de-boned. My only criticism was that the chicken must have been a juvenile add it was kind small. My friend had the rigatoni and it was delicious!

Jenafir

Super nice atmosphere. Well suitable for a nice dinner with that special someone. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was great and you can even have an appetizer, because the portions size is good (as opposed to the big ones in the US). Good, albeit a bit pricey wine selection.

Sheila Xie

I took the mussels and a beer. It was great. The restaurant is a bit noisy but it is not too much.

Tony

I had the blackeden salmon, which was very good. My wife and I shared the steak and salmon for 2 special. Portions were modest, which fit our needs well.

Leonardo Montero

Great food last night but despite superb table service we had to wait forever for our mains. Surely this few mussels shouldn't have required a wait? The calamari was pretty nice though.

Angela Pearson

Taste is good but portions are tiny and prices are quite high for what you get

Andrew Agno

Very disappointing when it comes to management. Had four girls at a table when a fifth arived we were happy to share seats and share a long table with fifth standing at the wall. But when a fifth seat came available the staff said our fifth paying for beverages and food was not allowed to take a seat cause they had a party of five waiting. Super disappointing to be treated this way. Decided to peace out at that point. The waiter was awesome so had to leave a good tip. Just not pleased with overall management.

Stephanie Liden

Traumatized at my food...got the egg Benedict salmon brunch and I was trying not to gag at the extremely sour and stale English muffin, with a questionably lukewarm poached egg, and most of the the fishy salmon that smelled like Stevenson market gone wrong. I went here once before which was ok, not at this location though. I feel like it was some leftover dish that was heated and slapped together.

Laurene Maloney

First time on the patio yesterday haven’t been here in like quite a few years. Had a couple happy hour drinks and the mussels with Frites. Didn’t realize the Frites we’re still shoestring potatoes but that’s OK, was DELICIOUS!! My baby tried mussel for the first time and was obsessed as well. Great service thank you Roe! We will definitely be back especially because your patio is dog friendly, really makes for a wonderful addition to the neighbourhood during a pandemic in terms of patio spaces. You made Regulars out of us.

Matt Wheeler (Mattywheels82)

Dinner at the Flying Pig is always pleasant one. The food is always flavorful, classy, and the service is always nothing less than amazing. It is a little high end for my budget, but I would love to come here occasionally for happy hour. Or maybe for a full course meal on some special occasion. Food I liked: veal picatta, blackened steelhead trout (sometimes it can be overcooked) & halibut The wine list offers an ample selection of beverages.

Robert Relyea

Was so looking forward to eating here for the first time. Was disappointed with the pappardelle.

Rhys Sosnowski

Really enjoyed my spaghetti and meatballs order and liked the interior.

Abner Casey

We had to wait a couple minutes to get in, but than we had a really nice table upstairs. Though it is a bit noisy in there, the service is really friendly and fast. The Salmon was absolt fantastic and the steak was the best my husband ever had. We really recommand this restaurant. The 4 from Hamburg, Germany

Stephanie Hendy

Super attentive staff, during these trying times. The menu is always great, and as the pictures shows there is usually nothing left on the plate when I leave this place. 4 of us where here on our last visit and 4 of us left very happy. Some great cocktails to choose from as well. Can't go wrong here for a good meal.

Mahsa Al

Had a great meal here with family. Service was very attentive (I think our waitress was from Australia? But not sure. She was very nice) and the food was delicious. If I lived in the city I'd bring all my friends here.

James Catterall

Great restaurant in Yaletown, Vancouver. The employees are very professional and kind. The dinner was amazing. Highly recommended if you want to eat something really good and stay in a beautiful location near the business district.

amy chan

Arriving before midnight on a Thursday night in Vancouver. I notice not much restaurant was open. Then a foodie friend came to the rescue, and recommend The Flying Pig. Multiple locations in the city, but Yaletown was the closest. The place was very cozy, and really like the bar set up inside. I was lucky happy hour was on, and the recommended dish "Truffled Jumbo Macaroni". Once the dish came out of the kitchen. All you can smell is all that truffle goodness. It had a delicious 4 cream sauce with a perfectly cooked pasta. In my opinion, this is such a great dish for happy hour, especially in the late-night meal. . Then you have the "Salmon Cakes" with a pickle and dill dipping sauce. Those Salmon cakes had a generous portion of salmon! As I cut it in the middle, all you can is all salmon meat. I don't think you'll see that goodness in Toronto. Very delicious and I would recommend this. Pairing this with a local wheat brewer was extraordinary. . I love the happy hour menu and would come back to try more items. One item I'm thinking off, but not on the happy hour menu "Bone Marrow Cheesy Bread".

Mak Parhar

We collaborated with the Flying Pig Yaletown to install their patio umbrellas. We a grateful for the opportunity to work with such a professional group that sincerely cares about the comfort of their customers. We enjoyed the atmosphere and their mouthwatering delicious food! We wish them continued success!

Alison Argent

Excellent food and service. We were impressed with the variety in the dishes and by the knowledge of the serving staff about the food and drinks they had. Would recommend highly. Note: They don't take reservations for dinner so get there early or sit at the bar whilst you wait for a table.

Camila Artsymove

Read the reviews, Didn't live up to hype. Food was adequate. Service was nothing special. Atmosphere was great. They raved about the brussel sprouts which we found, nothing special.

Ray Tseng

Good food, hard to get in and really loud. This is a very HOT and happening place. It is hard to enjoy your company as you about to communicate however super easy to watch people. Mixed drinks are perfect. The kitchen does a fantastic job. All four of our meals were delicious. Explosion of flavors.

Ashton Addison

Excellent service, and great unique items such as the pulled pork Mac and Cheese.

Yvonne

A fantastic alternative to other semi-formal restaurants like Cactus and Earls. Great eatery and atmosphere all around, with friendly staff. I think i'll be planning my birthdays/celebrations around here once in a while from now on.

Denny Hollick

Love this place! Perfect for happy hour drinks and snack! Great menu with shareable plates.

LMN 1984

First rate food and hospitality. Arturo and Harry became living Vancouver guidebooks. Brussels sprouts and Caesar salad with pork belly croutons were standouts. I have never felt more welcomed in a new city.

Lauren Patterson

Had a fantastic meal. Was a little noisy and crowded but food was excelent and service great too.

Chris Hynes

Great little happy hour menu, friendly service and stylish, comfortable atmosphere.

Sam Sugita

Awesome if you like a good brunch! Choose this one instead of the Gastown location. Menu is big but kinda pricey

Vicente Lazar

Definitely recommend!!! The food was delicious and the service was amazing! The staff were all great and we were served by the whole restaurant, not just one server. The manager made a point of stopping by as well to ask how our evening …

holly o'grady

Very tasty food and brilliant service surprised it was so quiet when we arrived. Busy when we left so must have been a strange lull. Do close to the steam clock

Lanie Giles

I got the veal and risotto but I subbed my parmesan risotto for the lobster risotto. It was delicious. Lots of large pieces of lobster. The service was great.

Alex Harding

The lunch menu is nothing special, especially for the price point. The waiter kept trying to push non-complimentary add-ons, making it feel like a money grab. Did not refill our water until she brought the bill, which is too little too late, especially when there were only 4 people in the restaurant. The portions are small for the price you pay and didn’t taste any better than lower priced options. Their brunch and dinner menus may be better in terms of options but would not recommend the lunch here.

No MSG No Garlic Foodie

Brussel sprouts are top notch. Caesar could use some work, and the squid was not cooked properly or was no good or something. The server taking care of me more than made up for it though, good service. The small outdoor seating area is very nice. I'll return and give the other dishes a chance.

Douglas Fir

Came here a couple times already and each time the service was great. Luckily, every time I went, the place wasn't too busy. The food tasted good, too. I did find the menu a bit too pricy for the amount of food, though.

Niloofar Gharavi

Came here for the happy hour, as it was advertised at the front door - sat down, ordered food & then told that they don't do happy hour anymore ... other than that the food was good, the service was less than decent, waiter only seemed to care when we were ready to pay.

Anna Hammad

Chef Andrew clearly loves what he does and the food presentation and tastes shows it. Delish cocktails and food options. Decent prices for happy hour. Worth the trip especially the split pea soup

Chrïs

Went for happy hour and a meal.. first greeted by friendly staff, sat down than Offered a Vip dish by a server, only to have it taken away with out apology and served to another table. We then ordered two med rare steak dinners..both were under cooked. We returned and still they returned to us not cooked properly. We were beyond disappointed with the confusion of the staff, it became quite comical as we ordered onion rings only to have them delivered to another table before making there way to us. Lastly although the steaks were only 1/4 eaten meaning a bite or two from each plate...management still charged 100% for both meals. They offered a dessert but we had both fully lost our appetite with the entire dining experience.. Never again would I return to this place.. so many more quality resterants in the same area.

Pu Zhang

Best pulled pork ever!!!! Great service. Friendly staff. Amazing squid! Great location. Great drinks!!

Amber Lynott

The Flying Pig excels at upscale comfort food. Very friendly service and cozy atmosphere make this a great spot for a quick lunch or leisurely dinner. Had the gnocchi with pulled pork and the tomato salad. Both were very well executed and presented. Tomatoes were nice and thickly cut, though would have preferred then a little more ripe. The gnocchi was delicious, couldn't finish it and had to take some home. Their locally brewed beer is worth the try. Enjoy!

Cecilia Teixeira

Went in on Sunday evening. Didn’t make a reservation online but they still had a table for two, luckily. We shared the DineOut menu with the charcuterie as an appetizer. Lovely atmosphere and delicious, beautifully presented food. Can’t wait to come back and try more.

Atria Designs

Really impressed with the service and the food! The waitress let us know ahead of time that the portions are generous, and was very helpful with the menu. Once we told her we were sharing everything, they split all our orders on two separate plates, which was really nice. Would definitely go back!

Laura G

My best friend and I came in for dinner and a couple drinks and the bartender Drew was so phenomenal! We had the BEST aviation martinis ever! He made them perfectly!

Marissa Martha

Not sure what happened to the quality of the food. I used to love this place. The food was not good - wasn't hot enough in temperature, bland and the fish was a bit 'off'. It's also quite expensive for what it is. An entree here is the same price as an entree at a high end restaurant.

Dimitrios Elissaios

Had brunch yesterday. Hollandaise could have been more flavorful. Partners frittata was super salty.

alomol

Best place to get your brunch. Love their virgin cesar and menu du jour. Service is very consistent, impeccable and extremely polite. A really pleasure to come back whenever we can with some friends or family.

Kevin Chung

I've only been here during happy hour. It does get pretty busy. Almost every table ordered the Mac and cheese. The portions are neither big or small. I usually order the Mac and cheese and something else to nibble on.

Paul Secord

Easily my favourite place in all of Canada. Always gives extra olives in the dirty martinis. Creme brûlée on point. Maybe these are things that only matter to me, but they always go the extra mile. You are missing out if you don’t come here in your lifetime.

Jennie Yan

Great customer service at this location! We're visiting all the way from Texas and couldn't have made a better choice! The food was superb with a wonderful taste in every bite! Can't wait to visit again!

Jordan McGregor

Great vibe and great staff. My steak was terrible, I ordered the ribeye medium rare. It was cooked right but was extremely tough and difficult to cut. I didn't complain because I was with 4 other people who were really enjoying their evening.

Gary Glans

I've been dining in and ordering ubereats and takeout from this location for the last year or so and have always had mostly pleasant experiences.. other than my last order. My friends and I ordered over $100 of takeout and immediately after opening up the food, discovered a hair in the caesar salad as well as two more hairs in the meat and cheese board. Normally I would want to return the food but since we had brought it to a park for a picnic it seemed like too much of a hassle. Pretty gross if you ask me. Tried contacting them via email including a photo of the food with the hair in it but didn't hear back! Expected more from them. Server/order-taker also asked us how many of us were sharing the meat and cheese board, and when we told her there was two of us, she decided to charge us for two boards without letting us know or asking us. Realized after looking at the itemized bill after eating. Sad to say I won't be ordering from this location from now on.

Matt Wendt

Insanely good food and very creative menu! Our server was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She had excellent recommendations. The location is awesome and the decor is trendy and inviting. I'm very impressed and would highly recommend this place for meat lovers!

Darryl Wright

Very disappointed by the brunch menu. Bennies to avoid. They were dried and flavorless. The portions were small. As soon as we ate and paid the bill, we went straight to a different restaurant.

Richard Narain

Hit this popular spot for an after-work drink during happy hour; decent wine list, great selection for nibbles and a comfortable warm atmosphere. Have to go back for a proper meal.

Clinton Chan

Came for happy hour and the salmon cakes and wings were delicious. Good prices and portions. Servers were attentive and friendly. The outdoor seating that they have was also very nice.

Regan Chan

Down a small eatery lined alley way in Yaletown sits the Flying Pig. Despite it's name there are some excellent seafood and salad dishes on their menu. Vegan as well. Parking is all around you but it isn't cheap. Expect to pay at least $10 for an hour or so. The food is very good. We came for Happy Hour & left ....well...happy. :-)

Jimi 2crank

Great food, fun ambience. The place is loud - be prepared! But the food and service are worth it.

Tony Rodney

The food and service was excellent, and at really reasonable prices too. Loved the lobster risotto and the crab croquet was my favorite. Will definitely be a regular costumer.

David, if you see this - thank-you for accommodating me and my sister on a busy Saturday night - I also want to thank the staff - I work full time and out of my two days off, Saturday and Sunday, I'm in class Saturday's. The day of my reservation, I was sleep deprived and exhausted. After a busy work week and studying from 8 am to 5pm , I was starving . I arrived at the restaurant after running around in the pouring rain, delirious and dying from hunger????. And as usual the food and service did not disappoint. I could tell the restaurant was short staffed(probably) and packed with customers, BUT the staff went above and beyond to make sure each table was FULLY taken care of. I left happy after devouring my roast chicken which never disappoints ! Will be returning soon !☺️☺️☺️????????????????????????????

Levi Zadka

Hands down, the best corned beef hash I have ever eaten! Slow cooked and perfectly seasoned, with creamy hollandaise and poached eggs mixing perfectly with the crispy golden potatoes! You definitely need to try this amazing dish! ????

Barry Lai

Just had dinner with 4 of my friends for my 26th birthday. We thought since they don't take reservations we would have to wait a while as we arrived approaching 8:00 for dinner. Upon arrival a gentlemen advised us he could get us a table …

Jon Garrison

Vast variety of things to choose. Great service by the staff. Decent place for the party. Would recommend it.

Lee Chase

Friendly service is about the only good thing about this place. If you sit on the "patio" be sure you don't mind noise and traffic right beside you along with the line up of waste and recycling bins that make up your view. I was excited as I read they could cater to a Keto diet. This was not the case aside from their horrible attempt of a lettuce "wrapped" Burger. I decided to alter my side from fries to cauliflower mash. Not expecting to get potatoes. But alas it was actually mashed potatoes with some cauliflower mixed in. Server did not clue in until I asked at the end of my meal. Only saving grace was that this was a gift card experience as I would not pay out of pocket for this place.

Satinath Sarkar

Lovely place to dine with a significant other or just to come around with friends :) the service is great and the food is delicious!

Edward Lee

The food was pretty good, but the serving portions were on the small side for the expensive prices attached. I suppose it might be justifiable from the quality of ingredients or something like that, but it's just too much of a luxury for someone like me. I'd say it's a good place but only if you're very well-off financially.

James Qiu

The atmosphere and the service were good. However, the food we had was all over the place. The brussel sprouts and the steamed clams were great, but the truffle mac and cheese was very bland. The vanilla cake with chocolate icing is HUGE. Be warned.

Chin-yi Wang

Standard mid market cuisine. Good menu, good service. Nothing to blow your socks off but you will be happy if you go here.

Lee Eggleton

Great service, wait staff were very attentive and fast. Shrimp and lobster risotto was a tasty snack after a day of shopping. Tasty draft on tap! Super busy place.

Ξ Π

Waitress did not ask if we wanted drink either before or after appetizers..had to stop her to ask . Calamari was undercooked and greasy.

Michael Steward

Amazing food.

Angel Cao

Stopped in for a quick snack. Wait staff is amazing. Drinks were on par. The salmon plate is a must have.

Erez

The boards are the best option to get, but everything was really delicious.

Johnny Tesoro

Service and food were great

Tri Tran

Great happy hour. The menu is not extensive but but tastes good.

Siqi Zhang

We noticed a foul smell upon being seated. It was the bathroom we could smell from our seat. It absolutely reeked of urine throughout the whole meal. This should not be something people should have to deal with in a nicer restaurant. The food on the other hand, was excellent. The macaroni and 4 cheese blend was delicious and a decent portion.

Diana Reimer

Went during Appy Hour and had such a great experience with my friend. Service was great- our servers were personable and attentive. The prices are reasonable and the Appy Hour snacks were tasty. Also $5 house wines!

Ray Besson

Some food was cold, steak quality was mediocre. The service was excellent all problems were taken care of.

Lincoln Chan

Awesome service, excellent food choices and very reasonable prices. Very hospitable staff and pleasant atmosphere

S O G

Service was excellant, food was high quality and the overall meal was fantastic so I have no problem recommending this place to anyone. If you're across the street at the cactus club you effed up! 10x better here than Cactus...

Riley Jackson

Review for happy hour only This place has one of the best happy hour food menu list. Things like salmon …

Food was excellent, service was a tad slow but I think they may have been under staffed otherwise friendly and helpful.Solid brunch all around

Sajia

We had the big game burger and pulled pork sandwich from their brunch menu. Very tasty and juicy. The meats are seasoned perfectly. Will come back when we're in Vancouver again!

Yvonne L

Ordered the fish and chips, the fish portion was small and unfilling and the batter was so heavy/deep to the point of being mushy inside. If you'll serve a decent sized filet with a crispy light batter, i'll come back. The service is exquisite, super nice helpful and accomodating.

Mary G

I had the chicken and waffle and it was decent, the chicken was tender inside, but not crispy enough on the outside for me, I would like more of a crunch. The waffle was light and crisp. Not a bad spot for brunch.

Scott Tsai

Fantastic restaurant with a comfortable, dimly lit seating and tables that are not too close together. Ordered an appie, mains and a dessert to share and I was impressed by all of them. Oh, and fresh bread with balsamic/olive oil to start! Squid appie: Delicious! Basically like fried calamari, except the squid is nice and soft, and it's not overly battered. Pork rib with pulled pork poutine: The pork rib was so incredibly tender. The poutine had a gravy that was lightly sweetened. Together with the melted mozzarella on top, this dish blew my mind. Seafood pappardelle: All of it--amazing! Perfect amount of creamy sauce, pasta done just right, juicy mussels and clams. Large slice of cake: Massive piece of multi layer vanilla cake with chocolate ganache that you can spot from 100m away. We were so full by the end of our meal, but it was a good decision to dig into this sweet chunk of sugar bliss.

Kate Lane

Amazing Valentine's Day meal with my wife, great service, and reasonably priced to boot! We'll be going back again.

Went for Happy Hour after work, tasty small appy dishes and great service.

Anna P.

I made a reservation online and got a table with my husband by the window. Our waiter took quite some time to take our orders and completely forgot to drop off napkins and cutlery for us. There was this lovely waitress who was constantly picking his slack and kept checking in on us. He also forgot to put in two sides: lobster risotto and our brussel sprouts. He seemed clueless at times and it was a bit frustrating dealing with him. It was the same waitress who noticed we were missing dishes. She was our saving grace for the night (all the stars are going to her). The lobster risotto was terrible, I wanted to send it back but ended up getting a takeout box but it was tasteless and bland. It tasted like the kitchen gave zero effort into making it. Everything else was sublime, I mainly liked the apps more than the mains. The beef tartare and the bone marrow were my favs. The caesar was also very delicious and I absolutely loved the garnish that came along with it!

gabriela ayalew

The service was great and the food was good, but the prices were a little steep.

Jasper Bilbao

The food was delicious. Order the bone marrow cheese bread.

Agent Covfefe

Ok food, pretty bland. Friendly staff. Tables are way too close and bunched in together when it wasn't busy

Mike Curzon

Our friend was in Yaletown and we arranged for a late brunch at the Flying Pig on Hamilton. Didn't realise there was one here as we have been to the Olympic Village location before. We were not diassapointed. We arrived with no reservation & the venue was three-quarters full so we got a table for three after a few minutes. The ambiance was energetic with couples, groups & families with children. Between us we ordered two corned beef hash & a country breakfast. All were delicious! For dessert I was tempted by the maple sugar pie. Overall service was very good and washrooms were clean although the washroom doors could be spruced up to match with the decor of the restaurant which created the right ambiance. Overall good choice for a late brunch on a rainy Vancouver afternoon.

Allen Chan

Had great service here for months, went at night and was so turned off by the staff that I would not recommend this anyone. Sad, given all the good times I've had there but honestly - give it a miss. Response to the owner's response: Yes, the night manager was the quite rude an unhelpful. Honestly, I probably would have stayed and toughed it out had it not been for his attitude. We did use the contact form on your website and the only response we received was: "Thanks for the comment and good luck."

PraetorianNUKE

If I could give this restaurant more than a 5 star rating I would!!! I love this place so much. The food was melting in my mouth, the drinks were SO good and the atmosphere was lovely. Ps, the salmon cakes are a MUST! AMAZING PLACE.

Lucas Lawrence

One of the best restaurants we've been to during our stay

BB Selvage

Terrible experience. The staff are rude and will laugh at you to your face. I think this is the first negative review I've wrote on an establishment.

Daniel Geaslen (IndoBushPilot)

There rib eye steak 16 oz is good.i would go back there again for second rib eye steak 16oz next time ????????????????????????

Arturo Vazquez

Delicious food! Love the happy hour! Cute and cozy vibe in the restaurant

Paavlena Madhivanan

Went for brunch on a Sunday, the food was delicious and the staff very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Peter Pi

Really enjoyed the atmosphere and service, food was great

MrJasian

I had a great experience here. I went in with a friend for happy hour. The appies and cocktails were excellent and the prices were fair. The bar staff were friendly, personable and fun. I would absolutely go back. Ask for Sam, he's the bomb.

kid nash

I go here fairly often and most of the time I receive good service. The food is delicious and I like the open kitchen concept.

Richard Gee

This place is hip and food is yummy. I visited twice on weekday around 2pm and it was easy to get a seat. They have specials that they display on a chalkboard outside. I would highly recommend their crispy hashbrown, nice crunch but soft in the center. Their beef stroganoff baked macaroni was a bit dry but their pulled pork sandwich was very saucy. I also loved their smoked salmon benedict. Nice place to grab a bite after an afternoon meeting.

Bernard Hsiao

Food and service was great. Felt very clean and covid safe.

Christian Lebon

Good vibe on the patio, drinks were good and I liked the tartare

Phillip Ichikawa

Amazing, light food. Very friendly & cool staff. Great little spot!!!

Emanuel

The food is always delicious here and service has never been poor. Truffle mac n cheese (add short rib) ;) Shh... It's a secret! ????

Rachel Robinson Kray

Ok so this place was so good. We had the pappardelle->amazing and the beef short rib->excellent balance between the ingredient. They have a great card for beers and drinks. You should go try it !

Jeff Wolf

Very disappointed in the food. I brought my wife here for some drinks and eats but we did very little eating. The calamari was flavorless and also the portion was very very small. The risotto was decent but didn't really taste like lobster. Cheese bread was like something from Costco lol. Did take a while to get service as well.

Josh A

Good food and great atmosphere. The side dishes are amazing too.

CodeBlue FPV

Great service and location. Food was pretty standard with a quantity over quality vibe. Inconsistent cooking for identical meals on our table for a busy Friday night(?). 3.5 stars rounded to 4 for the quality of the staff

Terry Pritchard

Awesome service, the manager Sarah definitely knows what she's doing. Went three times in two days. Jungle bird drink is tasty and the brussel sprouts.

Mandy Kung

Write this down, next on the list of places to drop by next - In the heart of Yaletown, they serve up a top end menu and a variety of cold local brews on tap. Relaxed environment, good for getting a group of people into a place. Fashion doesn't often come to mind reviewing restaurants, but the gentleman working there are wearing smart looking vests that elevates the vibe and a spice of sophistication. Do enjoy.

Taila Fisher

We ate here while visiting Vancouver. We ate at the flying pig in Victoria. We had a great meal and experience. Not only was the food excellent, wait staff were also. So we decided to eat at the restaurant in Yale town Vancouver. I ordered a steak with peppercorn sauce. It was terrible. Was overly salted I couldn't eat it. The vegetable were hard. Mashed potatoes tastless. I was very dissapointed. Reported it to our server. Manager offered to prepare another steak for me but it was getting late and we had to walk back to our hotel. My husband wasn't too impressed with his meal. We were very dissatisfied and dissapointed. The manager did not charge us for my meal. Our server was very good.

Rana Abhishek Singh

I love how they started with banana bread on weekends, just watch out for the line up!

Heather N

Been here previously before which was on par with the average restaurant in Vancouver; however our recent experience yesterday evening was enough to turn us off from coming again. We had asked if we could sit on the patio for drinks but were advised they did not yet have a liquor license outside - that’s fine. We were then escorted to the inside of the restaurant - a nice atmospheric space, our server came by and provided us with the food and drink menu. We ordered our drinks. She came back later asking if we wanted food and we mentioned we were fine with just the drinks. She then made the five of us feel extremely uncomfortable by saying it was illegal for us to just come for drinks but not order food, and then proceeded in saying she will leave a menu to make it seem like we will order food so we all don’t get in trouble. She came by later when one of our friends’ pint was getting to half way seeing if he wanted another - he mentioned he was fine for now and he’ll see how others feel in a bit. She then followed with “if you don’t plan on ordering do you want your bill then?” He repeated again that he’s fine for now but will wait. She again said “if you don’t want another, I’ll give you your bill now - is it together or separate?” We quickly decided we were going to cross the street to Cactus Club. Unfortunately, the man who took our bill was also rude in his service which solidified our view that this place is not somewhere we will visit again. As mentioned, the food and drinks may have been fine the first time, but the horrendous service warrants others to stay away so they can enjoy their day/evening out and not be boggled down by servers as such. Go to Cactus Club or Earls nearby.

Justine Erika Lorbes

Nice atmosphere and all, but whatever you do, skip their pulled pork sandwich. The bottom bun of the sandwich was soggy to the point where the bun was dripping and falling to pieces upon handling. The accompanying fries were flavoured nicely, but were barely warm to the touch (right now I’m wondering how long they kept out the fries before serving; I’m all for fast service, but compromising food safety for time is never okay). Moreover, the accompanying Caesar salad was not up to par: the “dressing” was pooling at the bottom, not to mention tasted only of lemon. Very disappointing experience, given that the location is in the Yaletown area.

Emma Beattie

Paid to much for smoked salmon because the waitress wasn't clear about the prices. The menu is very confusing. I feel that i got fooled a bit....not a great experience

Ken Udagawa

I will first preface this review with saying that out trip to vancouver was exceptional and that prior to leaving I had spent a considerable time researching as well reading all dining reviews. Our 5 day trip we dined at Bar Oso, Rimrock cafe, Chambar, Medina cafe, The Parlour, and Black + Blue, restaurants that were exceptional in food and service. Unfortunately The Flying Pig Yaletown was a horrendous dining experience and here are all my points: 1. friends showed up 10mins before my husband, myself and our toddler did and told them they could not seat them bc they were expecting a large crowd after the tfc game. A handful of ppl came in after the game 2. the waiter took more than 20 mins to take our order in a restaurant that was 3/4 empty 3. while eating our late dinner, not once did the waiter offer to refill our water 4. after collecting our plates the waiter did not offer a dessert menu and quickly walked away. 15 mins later I had to ask the manager for a dessert menu who then said the waiter will bring it to you 5. upon receiving the dessert menu another 15mins later I had to get the same manager's attention to order as the waiter was busing windexing the windows 6. after finishing the dessert took the waiter another 15 mins to ask if we were ready for the bill as she had her back to us as she was polishing cutlery. despite my family and friends having good food - the dining experience was soured due to the lack of prompt response and attention from the wait staff.

Ben Young

Really good comfort food. Quick service, our waitress was great. Good price too. Love it!

Mike Worth

Decent food for the price. Can be a bit bland depending on what you order.

MORI N.

I really enjoyed my lunch at this cozy little place in beautiful Yaletown, Vancouver today! They have a great selection on their menu and their lunch prices are reasonable. What really stood out for me was their warm, attentive and professional service. From the beginning to the end. The host made us feel very welcome and our server took very good care of us the whole time. Due to the winter wonderland feel and all the snow I felt I need to start things off with a nice cup of coffee. I loved the coffee. It was JJ Bean and piping hot and served in a sparkling cup.....exactly the way I like it. We had the Pulled Pork Sandwich and the Chicken cutlets. I loved the pulled pork, juicy and well seasoned with a nice crisp fresh ceasar salad and a slice of gherkin with the meal which was a nice touch. I love gherkins! I also tried the Chicken cutlet which was beautifully cooked. Tender with the batter seasoned just on point and the mash was a perfect pairing. "I MEAN WHO DOESN'T LIKE GREAT MASH?!" Next time I'm going for the muscles! ;)

Fei Yang

This bustling restaurant was a great place for dinner! We got a few side dishes to share for a lighter dinner and was pleased. The crispy brussel sprouts were delicious, and the salmon sampler was great.

Simon Strudwick

This place looks great but doesn't have the best food. I had the sirloin beef which was 3/5 at best with the cheese mashed potatoes. For appetizer I had the lobster risotto which was way better.

Mattia Talpo

Great food, the mussels were among the best I've had. The salmon plate was perfect. Enjoyed the place

Arugula A

Busy Saturday night, food was delicious, service very good and nice ambiance. I oh really recommend it.

Vivian Trumblay

My husband wasn't sure about what he would order to drink and asked for a surprise. The bartender did a drink that fit very well with the food he asked. It was a pleasant experience.

Shawn Smith

Not bad.

Jonathan Kwa

Feature pasta was listed on blackboard for $16 but I was charged $18.50. Even after I made it aware to the waitress and she talked to manager.

Byron Gregory

Awesome food awesome experience, salmon sampler platter was excellent and I had the rigatoni Bolognese which was baked to perfection.

Adriann Esteban

Excellent food and service except for one glaring omission. Our party of ten was crammed onto a table for eight. Made for an uncomfortable meal. When I complained the hostess said that we were lucky to get a table at all. Very rude.

Paolo Cuéllar

We moved to Cactus next door because the entree was terrible and expensive. We ordered Brussels sprouts just to get a bowl full of brown overcooked leaves of Brussels like they didn't have enough or just we got the leftovers and I was with 2 guest so I didn't mention to the server. Bitter flavor so I had to put lot of creamy sauce on it to taste it.

Moj Noroozi

I know it's unfair to give such rating based on just one experience, but... neither service nor food is satisfactory. The waitress we got is rather slow and inefficient. We didn't have a reservation, so we waited half an hour for a table, which is acceptable. But it took another 15 mins after us being seated for the waitress to give us the menu and get us water. She tried very hard to sell us the daily special combo, but we ordered our own picks. Turned out daily special is just quicker to prepare... The table next to us ordered what she recommended, and got served 35 minutes earlier than us. (Their order is placed 15+ mins later than us). The waitress offered us bread while we are ordering, but she definitely forgot about it. After waiting for our food for 45 minutes, we asked for bread again, and... she seemed taken aback, like asking for free bread twice is such an improper thing. She said it's coming soon, then another 15 minute! We finally got our stone-cold bread. And another 25 minute for the food to come. My husband ordered medium rare steak, and I had mussel & frites. We shared a side of risotto. His steak is lukewarm... We guess it's b/c they wanted to wait for the risotto and serve our food at the same time? The mussels are fresh and tender, pretty good. And the frites are crispy and flavorful. The risotto is a bit salty, not as creamy as I expected. Halfway though our meal, the waitress finally remembered us, and asked if we want more bread. (complimentary appetizer during our meal? ) Anyways, we couldn't understand why the place is so popular. Maybe people like it as a gathering place to enjoy liquor and hanging out?

BAD EXPERIENCE AS A WORKER: I worked here as a Dishwasher and Garmache more than a year ago. I worked really hard for this restaurant. Never got tips as, i was told at the time of interview. They just give whatever they left with 15, 10 and mostly 5 dollars after two weeks of work. I still compromised, about a week ago, i needed a reference letter for my job application. I kept asking for a whole week but never got it.

Jessica Stotts

Excellent food and service. This place is always busy and for good reason!

Cathy Huang

The food was good but I thought it was overpriced for that quality and portion size (even the specials). Excellent experience otherwise. Go and make up your own mind I guess.

Eleni Tsimpragos

Food is honestly overrated. It's good. But not great and certainly not to be placed on a pedestal.

Bobby Dyce

Great, high quality food and wines. Nice atmosphere and good service! Love it!

Minoo Yoga

Great food and service, staff very helpful and pleasant. Ideal venue. Only downside was evening time it is very dark and menu quite hard to read.

Little Bear

Good food and vibe! Friendly staff

Avi Pradhan

Daytime fabulous service, great food, wonderful ambiance! DON'T GO THERE IN THE EVENING! Staff are obnoxious and rude! Too bad - I will never go there again! Neither will my friends!

K T

Took 40 minutes for our order, steak was well done as I requested but too chewy. Expected better . 3stars.

We come here for an upscale weekend brunch. The food is always great, friendly staff and our daughter enjoys the usual table treat white we await our food order.

Pam Bilusack

We went here twice during our visit. Great ambiance and the food was outstanding!

alex handley

Nice, not a quiet place. Service staff is good and professional. Good prices. Ordered pasta, short ribs, salmon salad, and soup. Everything was delicious except pasta

Dean Landeche

Comfortable food and nice service Awesome beer We love it

Brent de Waal

Stumbled across this place during Happy Hour. Strongly recommend the truffle mac n cheese. Food and service was great

Jina Sim

Atmosphere and service were good. Ordered New York steak. The cook and seasoning were good but the cut was tough and gristley. Could have been a one off thing or they may want to check quality from supplier.

Christy Evans

Food 5/5 Corned beef hash - amazing flavours Staff 5/5 Engaging, fun, and professional Atmosphere 5/5 Clean, quaint, and the perfect music for my sleepy Sunday afternoon Next - to come back and try their dinner menu

Gaetano Colacci

Fantastic staff. It fills up fast so make sure to get there early and they don't take reservations. They have a community table so if you come by your self or with a date you could be sitting with a whole bunch of people so be prepared to make new friends. Don't ring the bell by the bar or you have buy the house a round :-P

Tanya Waung

Happy hour all day on Monday ;)

Prateek Bakhtiani

Great spot for drinks at the bar

Sergio Orejarena

Loved it, the beet salad was amazing, as well as the Mac and Cheese. Also bone marrow was really good. Make a reservation because it gets really busy.

Francois Brochu

Great spot, good food, great service nice staff. Get there for happy hour and sample the appetizers

Rob Allgood

Very good food, prices to match and good service.

Monica Conn

Reasonable price and quick service. The salmon cake was okay. But, the brussel sprouts tasted awful, felt like eating a spoonful of salt. The mussels was also super salty.

Vagelis Giannadakis

great food and service was there for happy hour stayed a few more hours beer was greayt

Moritz S.

Went here for a night out with the family. It's noisy and cosy. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Definitely have a return visit coming up.

Jim Medell

Great food, great service! They didnt have any more of the dessert we wanted so they gave me and my friend a free dessert drink instead!

Thomas Guerrero

The food is delicious, the beer is good, the atmosphere is quaint. I look forward to going back again sometime.

Gabriel Yeung

Awesome ambience. Been there couple of times. Food is ok. Service is good, friendly and suggest better options.

Chris Wong

Delicious food, excellent service, great place to hang out and have a good time.

Tim Inglis

Quite literally one of the best happy hours in the city, by far! Prices are good excellent, service is top notch, and the food is amazing!

Kristy Kenderes

Great service and the pasta specials are usually quite good! Efficient service at lunch even with a large group.

Jackie W

Atmosphere is nice, patio is available. Washrooms are clean. Staff is very friendly. Minus 1 star for the not so happy , happy hour. Prices are not worth the portion. I would rather just order regular food on a regular hour.

Josh MacKinnon

Ducked in here to get out of the rain on a weekend night, and they were able to find us a cozy spot by the window. Really cool candlelit atmosphere, and the staff was really friendly and helpful.

Ирина Гнатович

Good set up. Nice menu. Not too pricing. Bonus was Wine Wednesday with 40% off bottles!

Michiel

We arrived at the beginning of weekday happy hour. We were the first to sit at the bar. The bartender, though very quick to move around behind the bar never looked me in the eye. He seemed very, very busy. The wrong appetizers arrived to us twice... The food we did order didn't knock my socks off. I'm glad it was happy hour pricing. The pork sliders were good, but too sweet for my taste. The beet salad, one of my favorite things to order out, was not seasoned very well. Overall, it was worth the reduced happy hour pricing, nothing was wrong per se, it just wasn't great. I would think twice before actually choosing to go here again.

Crabby Ermine

Inconsistent food with average service. The veal piccata was very greasy, served drowning in a lemon butter sauce, a sauce that was indistinguishable, taste and texture wise, from melted butter. The onion rings were over seasoned, and the pea soup was under seasoned. At its price point, I would expect a higher quality meal.

Elianna Guo

A bit over priced but otherwise great restaurant. The happy hour menu is a great deal until you see the portion size.

Cahal Duffy

The food is outstanding here. No matter what you order, it's impossible to go wrong. Great presentation, and decent service, if not a little slow at times. I was there on a busy Saturday night, so taking this into consideration it wasn't so bad. We had a most attentive waitress who was super friendly and talkative. They could give a little more attention to their music feed however. There were a few weird choices thrown in which jarred with the vibe of the place. This occurred momentarily though, and didn't take away from an overall great experience.

Jim Jessup

Food is good here and ambiance is fun. Wish there were more vegan options.

Babak B.

Ordered the croque madame with a side of hollandaise. YUM.

Nick Grobelny

Delicious food and great service, the other is slightly above average, but with it. I love their side order of Brussel sprouts.

Janie Pag

This is a decent restaurant if you're in the Yaletown area. The service is personable, the food is cooked well, and overall, you'll have a positive experience. For the price, it's worth a visit. If you have a chance, try to order the daily specials, as they are usually quite good.

Ian Prince

This place is my favourite spot in Yaletown. A place with great food and atmosphere. However, last time we were there my wife ordered a burger and asked for the patty to be well-done, and the waiter's response was" That's how we serve burgers in Canada". I personally considered it as a discriminative and inappropriate response. But to be fair, his service was good. But I would not have ever expected to receive such an answer from this place. It was disrespectful and insulting. We have had burgers regularly in Vancouver which has been pink and uncooked inside, so it was a fair request and it definitely didn't need a discriminative comment in return. Perhaps the waiter was not aware of his response and its impact, but I think once you work in such an industry, you should be more careful with your communication skills.

Lalo Z

The server was extermely nice and funny. We had the platter for two and everything was super delicious. Will return.

Michael Brooks

Friendly staff and Great atmosphere for after work drinks!

Sherri Scott-Berner

I love this location. Very cute decor!! They have a brunch offer, 50% of brunch items until January so it so worth it to go there for a meal for sure!!! Their breaki sandwich was so tasty and their bread was just so amazing. I have been their for dinner as well, their pastas are tasty and they will surprise you. Staff are very professional and friendly.

Alexandre ABRAHAM

We ordered takeaway from the Taste of Yaletown menu, and enjoyed everything!

Marc G

Was the worst beef short ribs I’ve ever experienced. Pressure cooked to death with no flavour at all. Not impressed will not be back will not recommend. When you pay 30 dollars for a meal you expect quality

david dunne

The food portions were extremely small as you can see from the pictures! -Bread was burned black and still served in our plates. Left it on the plate in purpose so our server can see it and ask but this never happened. -Salad is just the green mix from Cosco -3 slices of cake complementary with the coffee were served on a plate with a black and white checked paper from Sysco!!! -Eggs portion was to feed a 4year old kid -We were sitting in front of the kitchen and being in this industry i could see the chef maintaining no health standards by touching the meat and then the salad with bare hands -Our drinks(margarita cocktails)took 35 min. to come to the table in a not busy bar at all! They also had the minimum quantity of alcohol as i couldn’t even taste it! Advertised as an upscale dine place in Yaletown completely disappointed me! Very expensive for the portions it serves and definitely not recommend it to anyone!

Chai

Wild seafood pappardelle was super tasty! I would order it again the next time around. The serving was just enough for me, smaller than what you would normally see in other restaurants for a pasta dish. It was enough to save room for dessert!

Lanie K

I tend to stick to what I usually order it their food has never disappointed me. Always full of flavour and fresh

Hallam P.

Food is not that great, typical bar food. Deserts are kinda nasty. Nice place though!

Stanley Chan

Very disappointed in the food. I brought my wife here for some drinks and eats but we did very little eating. …

Freddy Mason

Amazing food!!! Great drinks too!!! Totally go here!

Phil Schauer

I went here as a treat to try their pulled pork sandwich. The best I've ever had. Absolutely delicious.

Pedro Menga

Claasics made fancy. Generous portions of food will always leave you stuffed afterwards. Food was so good, my gf and I barely talked, were too busy enjoying the food

Aleisha Fazekas

Yummy salmon benny. Wasn't thrilled with the bacon bourbon sour but everything else, including service, was excellent. I will be back!

Nicole Straughan

Old English feeling Canadian food experience. Great flavors in both food and beverage options. Recommend that you give yourself enough time to enjoy something from each course. It's well worth it.

aron ashman

Amazing service and great food. I recommend checking out their happy hour

Roy L

We had some great seafood pasta and risotto. Very good food and friendly staff. Great spot for a date.

Nick

I frequently pop in. Mainly for Appy Hour as I love their Truffle Mac and Cheese. I've also been to the location in Gastown on several occasions, but this is my favourite as the food is always amazing here. The staff and atmosphere is always very pleasant.

Andressa Ravanello

Well first of all I went there they said it was going to be a 15-20min wait. I end up waiting 50mins good thing I was waiting for my friends but still, I looked at the lest before I put my name down there was only two tables/groups in front of me. So when I saw them clean the 3d tables I thought they where going to give it to me but it was 5 then 10mins and someone else walk in the door says they'd like a table and they gave it to them right a way so I told them I was still here they said oh sorry I forgot you where here so I'm not going back very bad service never going back

Arvin Lee

I stop here everytime I come through vancouver. Great happy hour items, nice atmosphere.

Scott M

One would have expected with the name and logo that this would be a place to get rotisserie pork, or at least some pork. Meat features are beef steak. Enough said.

Rob

Decent food but took abouy half an hour to get our drinks.

Minal C.

One of my favourite places in Vancouver to eat and drink. Anything on the menu is good from the appys to the mains and desserts!

Calvin Young

Ordered a steak for medium rare then it came almost like a blue rare.. It was hard to cut ???? Sent the steak back to the kitchen but then the steak that came back wasn't any better ..

Char McC

Good food

Birgit Helfrich

Service is really good. I wanted a lively atmosphere and we certainly got that. The food is good, nothing memorable, and it felt a bit expensive for what we got. Although I am finding a lot of restaurants feel pricey lately. I guess all …

J. Cheung

Love the food at Flying Pig but have to highlight how spoor service was at the end of the night. Ordered dinner & wine from full priced menu- despite Happy Hour deals available. At the end of the night an extremely obnoxiously individual came over and said “ he’d been MORE than patient (even though it’s the first time he’d approached us) and that we had to immediately leave. Our dinner plus wine for two people was in excess of $400 yet he treated us like we had sat for free all-night. As a local resident and frequent patron of this restaurant I was shocked and extremely offended by their clear disregard for loyal customers!! It’ll take a lot at this point for me to continue to include them in my restaurant choice.

Ehsan Tavakoli

I used to come here last year and it was a great place. Decided to go there again with my friends on the weekend and was super disappointed. You guys should bring back the service you used to have. Food was gross.

Cindy M.

Great brunch deals, and we were very happy with the service and the ambience. We'll definitely go back, easy recommendation.

Tifu Sama (Gypsy)

Maybe the name caught my attention? Or maybe just pork was on my tastebuds? Satisfied! Great environment, super service, servings plentiful. Weird parking but close.

Winnie

Always go there for happy hour! The regular menu is way delicious, too. Great alone, great for a date, great for parents, and lovely outdoor patio.

Brad Drummond

The service is always great. I haven't found a main course there that I've fallen in love with, but I wish I could just eat their fries forever

Ciara McEvoy

Awesome dinner and wine. Must visit again.

Samy Bee

Great tasting food and great atmosphere. Staff was nice. They were able to seat us in ~30 minutes without a reservation on the weekend (PS: there is a Starbucks around the corner if you need to wait).

Timothy Solis

Great place to come and try out. Came here for Happy Hour so you sit on the bar side of the restaurant which is nice. The other side is reserved for the regular menu which I haven't tried yet but would like to one day. The food here is good and staff was friendly. Will definitely come here again.

Snezana Ristovski

Excellent food. I had the salmon, and it was cooked perfectly. Prices were decent. The beer and wine selection was also good.

Travis Mason

Did Happy Hour before work and it was great. Service was good and the food was excellent. The Paella spices were perfect. We ordered some deals and off the main menu. Delicious your chef know their tastes and flavours.

Lyndsay Brennan

Thought the food was very good. Enjoyed what we ordered and got it all on a large platter to share. Prices seemed reasonable.

Lisa Hansen

Lively crowd. Friendly staff.

Yuan C.

The food is great! I love the atmosphere too! def one of the top notch resto bars ????????

Mark Fernandes

Embarrassing. Ordered a $40 steak which was fairly bland, but came with basically a bucketload of potato chips aka "shoestring fries". For dessert I had the maple pie which was ok but not great. The was some sort of 'vanilla cake' which colleagues had but it was basically a massive child's cake covered in Nutella. Just sugary and cheap, cheap, cheap. Just weird and... not good. Sorry guys but don't go here. I was surprised at how bad it was. Bad steaks are very common but the rest of it should be salvageable.

Ven Dionisio

I had the seafood duo while my wife had the blackened trout. Both were very tasty and fresh! Nice selection of local craft beers on tap. Dining service at the bar was awesome! We would definitely return again.

Ryan Devlin

Good food. The menu is creative for pub like food. The seafood pasta is great. Reasonably priced. Solid 3.5.

Scott Cadwell

Sat on the patio on a nice day. Had the prime rib for lunch. Decent price and was great. The drinks seemed expensive but im not familiar with Vancouver pricing so perhaps that is normal. But my meal was 21 and my drink was 12

Yifan Wu

Reasonably good food and drinks. Come for appy hour 4-6PM. They have affordable small plates then but expect it to be busy.

QUN YONG HU

Service was awesome, atmosphere is great but our meals were lacking based on missed items on both our meals.

Jorge Antunes

First time there and really enjoyed this spot. Great food and service! Will definitely go back, makes for a perfect date night.

Matt Mitchell

One dish. Beef Stroganoff Baked Macaroni. OK, two. Crispy Hashbrowns lyonnaise style.

J Monique C

Highly overrated. Dry and tasteless salmon to chewy and over salted steak, the food experience was not.worth even at 50% of the price. Even beans and mashed potatoes were terrible. Muscles were decent. Cake was worse than a supermarket cake. Our server was very nice and polite and tried her very best to accommodate our requests and make up for the quality of food by taking a couple of items off our bill and providing a complimentary dessert.

Don

Had a quick lunch here and it was delicious. Told the waitress that I had an appointment in less than an hour and when she saw us relaxed and chatting after we finished eating she was nice enough and in a perfectly timed way reminded us and asked about bringing the bill. Besides the lovely service the salmon cakes were very good and the house pinot grigio was perfect.

Eugénie

There aren't too many restaurants in Yaletown where you can walk in without reservations and expect great service along with a deliciously refreshing Westcoast menu at a decent price. The Flying Pig hits all the sweet spots

Ashfaq Khan

exciting special menu; great deals with a variety of drinks. Appetizers are elegant and tasty!

Julee Mele

Love the brunch here, French toast and eggs Benedict is a must try!!

Andrew Browne

Used to like this place. Last time was terrible. Worst mussels ever had. Bland and terribly overcooked. Rest of food just ok. Got and charged for dish didn't order. Server just laughed about it. Sent message to restaurant on their website. No response. Guess just for show.

Alek Tan

Mediocre food, quite expensive. It’s ok not not worth the money. Many much better food places nearby

David Rain

Great service, great food, great atmosphere in Yaletown. We had delicious cocktails followed by a farm to table meal. I had the red wine braised short rib. To make it dairy free, the kitchen replaced the mashed potatoes with mixed veggies. I much preferred that as it made it lighter. We followed our meal with a delicious glass of local wine for dessert. In addition to the items of the menu, they had a handful of very tempting daily specials. The restaurant itself has a very rustic atmosphere with trestle tables and candles throughout.

Paul C

We came for our Thanksgiving meal as we are from the US. It wasn't turkey and the fixings but a great meal none the less. When we return to Vancouver we will be sure to return to this establishment. YUM!

OBI WAN

Good service and great varieties!!

Keith Shikatani

I got Parmesan chicken and I loved that

Kevin Perera (YYCHOSPITALITYMEDIA)

Would not recommend and probably won't return. The food was standard and the steak was very chewy. The hostess' attitude was a bit indifferent and the service was kind of slow despite it wasn't very busy. The table was sticky and there were small flies around the table indoor.

Cerena Arogie

Overpriced and average. Was sold on the BC salmon but was incredibly disappointed. Fresh doesn't mean well seasoned. Vegetables seemed frozen. Go somewhere else.

Michael Greenwell

I gave this place 4 starts, but 4.5 stars would be a more accurate rating. Came with my kids (12 & 14) and we had a great meal. The seafood was fresh and tasty . Service was fantastic. A real find. Not an upscale place, - quite casual actually. Comfort food prepared well. Save room for desert. Well worth the calories.

John Doe

The Flying Pig is a great staple! Always a great place to go to for a bite to eat or glass of wine. The is definitely my fall back if I don't know where to go and am looking for a quality meal. You will never be disappointed here.

L J

Sorry to say - quite a poor experience today. Chicken was tasty but was on a bed of stone cold potatoes which they didn't do anything to rectify or adjust the bill. Poor service.

Bob Smith

They cannot deliver 1.5 km from Yaletown to West End so I cannot order and will find a somewhere else

Brooke Stephens

Food was the pretty meh. Considering the name you would at least expect the pork to be excellent, it wasn't. Happy hour deals sound good on the menu, but were super small and not good value. Atmosphere of the place is nice, probably best as a spot for drinks, not food.

Trippy Tripcicle

Food and cocktails were very good, however the ambience was more like a pub than a restaurant.

Garret Morrison

Memorably amazing all around. The love put into each plate was evident, service was friendly and attentive. The quality of food was awesome, both visually and tasting. Portions were perfect.

Darren Routley

The food was very delicious and the service was very welcoming! It probably helped that we went during a less busy hour but regardless the waiters were both attentive to creating a good experience without being too interruptive.

Doosung Kim

Great experience. Thank you!

Adele Perry

Worst breakfast ever! I ordered traditional breakfast and the scrambled egg is dry, the bacon is burned, the sausage is nothing but garbage. What a experience in Vancouver!

Richard Cannon

A bit expensive for the amount of food and the taste. Service is on par

lea “Lea” howard

Dinner

Richard York

Just the same energy from Olympic Village. Comme ci, comme ca. Also, even though the lighting is dim, please get your server to iron their clothes and easy on the seasoning on the fries and salt on the paella. We came for the food not to drown in the ocean.

Jacinthe Dufresne

Great service, did everything for us to be ok even with 2 babies and a huge stroller

Rudolph

Nice chilled out place to grab some yummy food and have a drink, really great service, the pork is just amazing it's a massive dish so be prepared but great value for money, also had the chicken. These aren't little portions but there so good you won't stop eating! Wish I had one in my city!

Jennifer Marie Luce

Everything was #1, staff, service, food, price. Even customers are great. Great place bring New year into 2022. I'll be back soon with family and friends etc.

Andy Jefferies

The food was disappointing, fries were too spicy, the steak was burnt rather than well done, and the mashed potato was undercooked! The two is only for the plate design and nice service.

sanind lbs

The place is nice and plenty of people. They don't keep same tastes as always. This time the sirloin is cooked too much. It's not worth it to try the Bone narrow dish also is too expensive for it. The corn jalapeño and cheese is good. You can see the dishes pictures I attached.

Allan King

Absolutely a delight of a place to eat! Brilliant menu and all 6 of us picked different mains and all were delivered timely and with equal brilliant presentation. Carpaccio to start was gorgeous and the vanilla cake was delicious and all the table had a taste. The price is very reasonable and would encouage anyone to eat here as food and staff are both as impressive as each other. Location and the building interior are also two pluses not to ignore.

Dwight Kematch

After walking around Yaletown and encountering less than enthusiastic hosts, our greeter was friendly, genuine, and honest (there was a waitlist). Due to the waitlist, we were offered a stand up table which we accepted. Upon seating. Our service was great, but most importantly genuine. Food was good, drinks were great, but the service and staff are what will bring me back.

Bryce Robinson

Nice decor, good service. Risotto was too salty that accompanied the grilled fish entree.

Ian S

Our server Mark was the best, he was so beyond accommodating and thoughtful. And the food was delicious as always ????????

Paul D

Just had dinner with 4 of my friends for my 26th birthday. We thought since they don't take reservations we would have to wait a while as we arrived approaching 8:00 for dinner. Upon arrival a gentlemen advised us he could get us a table for 5 pretty quick and he was right. Got very good seating and excellent service from Alexa. First time trying The Flying Pig even after hearing so much about it. Definitely recommend!!

Ruby Tiwana

Pea soup is always a treat on a your typical day in Vancouver (which always includes rain). Here is comes with fresh whole peas and huge hunks of pork belly. Friendly welcoming staff, nice selection of tasty local brews and the consistent scent of bacon. Mmmmm. Bacon.

Darlene Buttazoni

Just passing through Vancouver and stumbled upon this place. Great location, cool atmosphere and yummy food! It was very busy, so be prepared to qait a little bit.

parker flint

Really like this place because the service is always incredibly friendly and efficient. Recently sat outside which was nice—despite the prominent view of a dumpster lineup. I’ve come for lunch and happy hour and they have pretty good deals from 3-6. Would stop by again.

Ryan Brush

Managed to get a table for two at 630 on a Saturday night. Had the platter for 2, which had seared sappern and a NY steak included. A bit pricey, but the mac and cheese was amazing.

Olivia Bittle

When you come across this place, you have a whiplash on any night of the week ? Why ? SO Many good looking people in here. Dear Lord. I think all the good looking girls in all of Canada were imported here and made to go here every single night. Holy cow. So many good looking people. (Yeah but how is the food, the service ?). Top notch. The bees Knees. Yaletown is a legend and this is one of the places that make it a legend. When pigs fly.

Marc Meana

All hype, no pay off. Served solidified, coagulated bone marrow. Like straight up cold white grainy fat. Trying to be high end, missing by a mile.

Krystle

Visited with friends and honestly I was expecting a lot more. The positives were certainly the service. The food was well mediocre at best. I personally found the main course some to be slightly on the more salty side from my pallete.

Sam Chan

The chocolate cake at the end of the meal was like the cherry on top. Friendly service and the food is always good!

Jacki Maher

Servers were very friendly and accommodating. However, almost all our food was very over-salted which made for a subpar experience.

Adam Cronkhite

All their food was amazing! The Brussels Sprouts are a MUST-HAVE!! The black walnut old fashioned and whiskey sours are also delicious!

Maria Bravo

Service

Greg Norham

Oh my god , food is so goooood , and also staff are very friendly. :)

Bryan Pilien

Great service service and atmosphere. Food portions are relatively on the bigger side, so don't over order!!!

RJ J

Great atmosphere. Small, but enough space to seat large groups of people at one time. The one big thing I noticed was that there were no tvs in the dining area - not too sure about the bar, but from my angle it didnt look like a tv would fit in the bar area. The bone marrow appetizer was delicious. The mussels and frites was a great sized entree if you already had one of their decent sized appetizer. I would recommend for date nights, group outings or just to grab a quick drink.

Danny Yang

not as good as before. the food was kinda bland, and the waitress got the wrong food out.

Geoffrey Stanmore

Really hearty meal options here (you won't leave hungry). Absolutely love the brussel sprouts and their pasta dishes

jerzy swic

The food and service was good. The staff were able to accommodate me and my laptop during a busy brunch. It's incredibly popular for brunch, so plan ahead and arrive early!

Gordon Bourque

Amazing food, amazing atmosphere and great prices for the quantity and quality of food! Will for sure be reccomending to friends and family

Jeeva D

Damn good brunch. Prices are very reasonable.

Blanca Urbina

Great food! A friend of mine tried roasted brussel sprouts and it was fantastic.

Berkan Kucukkatipoglu

I get a little rush when I know I am coming back to Vancouver. The water, the mountains and the food do it for me. It is like a city I constructed in a dream. Inception-style. I want shiny buildings, blue everywhere, adorable clothing shops, polite drivers and good food. On this trip to my dream-city, I arrived about a day and a half before my husband. Because of advancements in technology, I know that he is currently on a plane sitting next to a Vancouverite who is telling him to eat sushi while in the city. Where I totally appreciate recommendations from locals and love sushi, this trip is about meat. I am focused and love a food-themed trip. Meat, meat, meat. I have been to The Flying Pig before and decided that it was going to do the meat-trick last night. DID IT EVER. About their name from their website: The Flying Pig represents our desire for you to see the impossible happen every time you visit us. Adorable. Speaking of adorable, everyone who works there is cute. Specifically, they look like they belong in Kinfolk or A Well-Traveled Woman. And the atmosphere matches them. It is perfect. Muted neutrals, nice materials. A slight gloss, really clean and natural. What I ordered: Three Pea Soup (smoked ham hock, chick, split and sweet peas) Red Wine Braised Beef Short Ribs (roasted bone marrow, aged white cheddar mash) Bone Marrow Cheesy Bread (self-explanatory and yummy) The Three Pea Soup is the kind of soup that produces oh-this-person-really-loves-me feelings. You could be slightly under the weather or it could be a little cold outside and a magic master of the kitchen would make that for you. Because of the love. The Braised Short Rib has exactly enough sauce and I am a sauce-scrutinizer. Also, a giant hunk of bone marrow with it. Um, delightful. Did I mention the service? Because IT. IS. GOOD. They serve the wine quickly and often, just the way I like it. At one point, the Manager came over to check on me and, with a mouth full of short rib, I told him I was JUST fine. By the end, after housing the Bone Marrow Cheesy Bread with everything, I was so, so, so, so full. You know that Louis C.K. bit about eating habits? "I don't stop eating! The meal isn't over when I'm full. The meal is over when I hate myself. That is when I stop." That is exactly how I felt. Painful and awesome at the same time. Some women sitting next to me ordered more plates than I did and shared everything, which seemed to be a better strategy overall, but I have no regrets. Now, listen: they don't take reservations, so come early. You won't regret it. You can eat sushi another night. I am basically an honorary Vancouverite. I know what I am talking about.

Chet

The Flying Pig (Yaletown) is a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The food is casual, delicious and each dish is appealing and subtly interesting. It’s a local chain that serves locally made beer. The music selection is definitely noteworthy. A fabulous place to meet up with friends, family or to go on a date. The service is exceptionally personable and attentive. This restaurant is a testament to the flourishing, laid back Vancouver dining scene. ***IF YOU FOUND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL KINDLY “LIKE” IT***

Finnian Fitzsimons

Expensive but tasty

andrew iknowwho

Very good service, and great drinks.

Robert Bradley

food was good, not great. beer selection seemed quite lacking for a gastropub.

Karla Lopez.

Good spot for drinks and food. Looking forward to the new patio setup in Yaletown on the road. You have to see it to believe it I guess. I like the happy hour menu and a good way to start the night.

Lisa Mayes

Amazing service. Great wine and beverage suggestions. Our waiter born in Versailles raised in Montreal. With an amazing smile, Cannot rember his name. ( Sorry )

sabrina christodoulou

Really impressed with the service and the food! The waitress let us know ahead of time that the portions are generous, and was very helpful with the menu. Once we told her we were sharing everything, they split all our orders on two separate plates, which was really nice. Would definitely go back!

Hsu허Christy품격 ,크리스티

Excellent food, great ambience and delightful servers. Good wine selection. ????

Francesco Singh

Waitress was awesome, letting us order the pulled pork poutine even though they were serving brunch. Excellent cider too

Jessica

Great service and food was delicious

Farzad Hemati

Great atmosphere, great food, and service. The food is also portioned well, you leave filled but not feeling bloated.

Will Klingler

Been there twice and have thoroughly enjoyed the food and their house Old Fashioneds.

Isaac Yu

Good atmosphere and really good food. Had a business meeting for a late lunch and the food was a nice addition to a great meeting. Thank you.

Audrey T

Food was good and service was nice and prompt. Onion rings were super crisp and yum! The hosts could be a lot more friendly and welcoming though. I walked in and waited for the 3 people at the desk to acknowledge me but they were talking amongst themselves (Super awkward..) Granted, they looked busy but a quick Hi wouldn't have hurt? After 3 minutes of just standing there I had to walk through the entire dimly lit full house restaurant on my own to look for my party that was already there.

Gail Flasch

I had a great brunch here but found the service to be sub-par. Lunch was ruined due to rude service. The waiter gave us funny looks and rude attitude throughout the service. I don't expect friendly service but when it is catty and rude, it makes the experience just intolerable. I won't be returning to this place.

Donna To

Definitely recommend!!! The food was delicious and the service was amazing! The staff were all great and we were served by the whole restaurant, not just one server. The manager made a point of stopping by as well to ask how our evening was. Definitely made us feel welcome. The food was great, but it was the service that really stood out for us.

Filippo Lepore

Food is alright but the service in this location is not at the same level as the one in Olympic Village! At OV we always get served complimentary banana breads and here we don’t! The atmosphere here is also more claustrophobic and a number of times we were ‘encouraged’ to use the shared table in the middle! I’ll stick to OV location!

Michael Ye

This is the most expensive place I have ever eaten. But good lord it was worth it. They gave us this meat platter with a bunch of different stuff and I couldn't even stop myself for a minute. It's making me hungry just writing this.

Marco Bejasa

Their calamari is the best I've ever had and I would go back for that alone! Their other food is also really good, however fish dish portions are tiny while the steak frites and other meat entrees are double the size so if you are hungry go for the steak frites and no matter what - get the calamari

Paul Harling

Random walk in with a party of 11 had us seating in 20 minutes which is awesome for van on a friday! Service was awesome for the whole night. The food was awesome. Everyone in our group was totally satisfied. Cool room and atmosphere!

Audrey Rocha

Honestly food and service are good but the staff allowed a group of three poodles on the patio to yelp and bark and sit on chairs for over two hours which is really disappointing. I won't be back.

idris simone

Went last night. The host was awesome, our servers were awesome and the food was delicious as usual. I highly recommend the short rib. One of the best things I've ever eaten

Dean Cardno

Some very nice staff, and very low-quality food.

Elaine

I went here twice recently, once on a Friday night and once on a Saturday night. The first time, I was only having drinks yet the service was unbearably slow, even with the restaurant not at full capacity. It took forever for drinks to come when ordered, if you could flag down the waitress at all. Even at the end, it took 15 minutes for the waitress to bring us the credit card machine after she had given me my bill. The cocktails were not made well enough to be worth $11. The second time, I had the New York steak. The service was fast enough this time, but the waiter was a little uncaring and short with us, with no hint of a smile. The steak was mediocre - definitely not worth $26! While the ambiance is good, I would rate the service and quality of the food as very poor considering the prices they charge.

Alessia Pagliaroli

Nice experience, great food, happy hour price is good

Kana H

Food is ok. Went there at happy hour and didn't realize that. The guy was not even asking and directly assume us to be taking advantage of it. Took forever for someone to take order for us and the guy spilled food on my phone and wallet. Didn't even try to help clean it up. No surprise to take another 15 mins or so for paying the bills.

Shane W

Went there during happy hour and was pleased with the food selection of appetizers. Their drinks menu is also good, and they have a good selection of beers on tap from local craft breweries.

Kay Jeh

Came here for Taste of Yaletown and the food was excellent. Our server was friendly and prompt. I only wish the music wasn’t so loud in an already cramped space.

Mia S

I tried this place for the first time and ordered the pork chop poutine, calamari, and sirloin steak (medium rare). The pork chop poutine was fabulous, especially the amount of cheese that was on top. However, the steak was a bit disappointing; it was as juicy/soft as I imagined. It was hard to slice the meat and hard to chew.

Jonathan Harris

Been here quite a few times and have never had a bad meal. The kitchen staff should hold their heads high with the quality of food they present. The servers are laid back and approachable, but professional and knowledgeable about the entire menu.

Antun Draskovic

Beer was lovely and the service was top notch. Really cool place to eat or just have a drink.

Trevor Yee

I went here twice recently, once on a Friday night and once on a Saturday night. …

bob smith

Over all a good place to eat out and have some bold meat. Personally I prefer their beef over pork but they are both great. Two dishes are probably good for around 3 people.

Aaron Nash

Delicious, slightly slow service but we did have a massive group...

Steve Brown

Good food. A bit noisy at lunch. Not a place to discuss business. Salmon Sampler very good. Corn Chowder too creamy for my taste. Pasta dishes good. Snapper ok.

ramon mangente

Superb spot for drinks. Dinner was delicious. Love their take on pea soup. I believe the cheerful service was the best part of the experience. Be sure to give them a try when looking for a fun place to have special evening with someone.

Mona Pooni

Good food and good service.

G Fehr

It was my first time going there for dinner and it’s a very lively place! Excellent food and was particularly impressed by the Wild Seafood Pappardelle which was great to pair with Prosecco. Ola was an amazing server who even helped us surprise our mom with a cake we got her for her birthday! Will definitely be coming back for brunch one of these days

Trevor Friesen

The Flying Pig is a great staple! Always a great place to go to for a bite to eat or glass of wine. The is definitely my fall back if I don't know where to go and am looking for a quality meal. You will never be disappointed here.

Ani Kaltcheva

I gave this place 4 starts, but 4.5 stars would be a more accurate rating. Came with my kids (12 & 14) and we had a great meal. The seafood was fresh and tasty . Service was fantastic. A real find. Not an upscale place, - quite casual actually. Comfort food prepared well. Save room for desert. Well worth the calories.

thomas robertson

Great food and service! We had a pretty large dinner reservation here and everything went very well. For sure, there's a bit of a wait with 15 people but it was still pretty great. We spent a long time here, had some food, drinks and lots of fun. Great place to check out. The only surprise here was the chicken was super small and a little dry. Everything else is was spot on however.

Anthony Azar

Great food and service ????

jesse seamans

Had a wonderful brunch at the Flying Pig and the service was excellent! I would recommend their brunch or dinner.

Stefano Vazzoler

Lovely place, extremely friendly staff, wonderful food. We went with our 2 year old and were initially concerned that it might not be kid-friendly but they made us fell very welcome, provided a high chair, found a place for us to keep our stroller, and provided a kids menu. Definitely would recommend.

Andrea Valliere

I found the food a little bland overall. Needed salt. The paella was pretty good but the heat veried pretty dramatically between two visits. The chef should be tasting the food. The fries were served top of the mussles. This inevitably ended in some of them becoming pretty soggy as they descended into the soup at the bottom of the bowl. They should be served separately as a side. Unfortunately there's very limited tablespace. The tables are very narrow and there is not a lot of space for multiple dishes. This was particularly problematic because we were sharing all the dishes and there was clearly not enough space on the table to do this. The server should have understood this limitation and brought the food out piece by piece instead of all simultaneously. We were left eating off tea saucer sized plates and fighting for space. I appreciate the restaurant wasn't set up for this sharing but at least bring out the appetizers separately from the mains. If we order a cheeseboard we don't want that to arrive at the same time as the braised beef. Overall, for the price it was meh. I would probably think twice about going again.

Mike Gignac

I felt quality of there product was fell off. Food got bland and dry.

Moe Jazayeri

Decent happy hour. Good staff but my food came out cold...

Jackie Nelson

Hung out with my buddies at the bar for happy hour and their awesome bartender Allan filled us up with food and brew. Definitely come back next time, Allan will take care of you.

Leslie A

Awesome food and great service

D T

Visited on a busy, warm Saturday night & had a lovely evening. Seated at the bar, very friendly service - had the special pork & trout sharing dish which was amazing. Thoroughly recommend.

Wendy Jiang

We went for appy hour yesterday, we tried the truffle Mac and cheese, the poutine, the beef short rib croquette, the salmon cakes, mussels and all were amazing! Great deal for two before an evening event.

P R

I quite enjoyed this restaurant, I had the roasted chicken, which was simple and well prepared, with a side of the Brussels sprouts, ordered on a lark as I've never been particularly fond of Brussels sprouts, which were a delicious surprise, crisp and flavourful. The location is open and airy, an exemplar of current Yaletown style, and the service was prompt, personable, and at just the right distance.

Jim Fleming

Super confort food. I go there everytime I visit Vancouver. Very nice atmosphere

Jrod Dski

Tasty mac and cheese for brunch and coffee super simple and super tasty. They were also super busy but fit the four of us in quite quickly. Our service was excellent and skilful. Very personable.

Had a good times there in past, so took my family there two weeks ago, They do not offer butter and bread any more, We ordered special for dinner, they told us the minimum is two plates, So we ordered two plates, it took long time for foods to arrive and it was just one plate, we asked the server we ordered for two and the server told us they made a mistake and we should wait for the other dish to come, I asked if we can cancel, and the reply was yes, The steak was not cooked at all, they never asked how we want them cooked, but the crazy thing is that we got charged for two dishes and the waiter insisted that the minimum special is two dishes for table, even they canceled the second one because they made a mistake!!!!

Loud and lively. We stopped in for a light and early dinner on Friday night. We were seated immediately and service was friendly. We ordered an app and side of lobster risotto. The risotto was slightly undercooked, with several hard grains. Food was tasty, but not great. Young crowd was great for people watching.

I don't go out often because of the kids but I can honestly say this place blew me out of the water in service. The food was fantastic also. We came in on a Monday night and it was fairly busy despite this we got seated right away and taken care of. The drinks were on point!! I will be back next time I visit Vancouver highly recommend

We came here on a rainy Sunday for brunch. It is not busy at all. Lots of meter parking ($1 per 10 min) outside the place. I had the bone marrow cheezy bread and pan fried oysters. Both are good as expected. The bone marrow is light on salt. It would be be much better with a bit more salt. The cheezy bread is very good and perfect match with the oily creamy bone marrow. The fried oysters cook perfectly; however, the oysters don’t have much sea water kind of oyster taste. Maybe oyster is not in season? I had fresh oysters in other restaurant few weeks ago and those oysters also don’t have strong oyster taste too. Service is great. For location, services, vibe and recent inflation, I would said the price is reasonable.

Great expérience. Would highly recommend. The only minor thing I could say was our 1st round of drinks took longer than expected. With THAT said, it was 10pm on a Friday night. Our server was awesome (the lady from Havanah, Cuba) and the food was beyond tasty. Well done!!

Andy Gill

Ordered riesling and rare new york steak which came after 45 minutes. Also had the bone marrow cheesey bread. The waitress was nice and accomodating. A mouse was dancing around the patio tables looking for food which was very cute.

Ted Williams

Food was great, but waiter forgot to put 2 rounds of drink orders and our main meal orders... took us almost 3 hours to get through dinner...

Shaylin Gilbertson

Our big group of 9 had an enjoyable dinner here last night. Turned up early at 5pm which was a good thing as the place quickly filled up. The seafood dishes were cooked well (I had the Dual which was tasty) but the pasta dishes were average (lobster risotto was a bit over cooked and I didn't see much lobster). Nice solid choice with good value.

89/100 great food, staffs were friendly and helpful, defiantly gonna come back for it

Ching

Great service, the truffle fries were surprisingly good.

Mia Kim

A bit pricey for my taste but the food is unbelievable and the service friendly and quick. We got the wrong order and they told us to eat it if we like and they'd bring us the right food right away no charge. Ended up liking the wrong order (cauliflower) almost as much as the cream corn. Lots of sea food on menu so not sure how it got its name

Toby Lo

Waited in line which is ok. Came back and still have to wait, which is ok. Asked to sit in the lounge and then saw 2 tables empty. Turns out one was available but we weren't asked if we were ok to sit in the bar. That was disappointing. The maple crusted pork ribs were very good. Same with the pulled pork poutine and blacken steelhead. The cheesy bread marrow was total rip off since barely any marrow. The beef short ribs was flavorless and marrow was basically empty.

D Doyle

Really cool vibe and lovely staff. Great happy hour selections.

Kian Shoai

Came for brunch and the country breakfast was on point. Great service and friendly staff.

Étienne

Came here for lunch and loved it! The place is chill and pretty with great food and great service. The coffee was great too!

This is my favourite location of Flying Pig restaurants. I enjoy dining here for dinner and I recently went back for their happy hour menu, which I thought was great! I highly recommend the poutine, brussels sprouts and truffle jumbo macaroni. The only downside to this restaurant is that, because of its popularity, always expect to wait awhile during peak hours.

aleem allidina

great happy hour, we love our boy TIM on the bar! best dude ever - JV

Sandra Peters

Expensive food, great selection of local beers. Good ambiance and friendly staff. Menu is a little bizarre.

Larry Laws

Awesome! Everything was great and our server Mark was so friendly!

Lisa Noel

Great place to go for appy hour (4pm - 6pm). Everything was $6 and the plates were a good size and tasty.

Sorcha Hennessy Silke

Food was very good - two of us had the daily special, which was a large portion. Service was attentive without being intrusive.

Dan Caterer

Food was decent. Cutlery wasn't very clean. Had to swap out my coffee spoon as it had dried food on it. Coffee refill took 10 mins after they noticed my cup was empty, and place was only about 1/4 full. About 15-20 mins for the food to come out which is normal everywhere.

Philip

Excellent the service was top notch. Had the short ribs and the prawn and lobster risotto. Price was what you would expect for Yaletown.

Carolyn N

Review for happy hour only This place has one of the best happy hour food menu list. Things like salmon cakes, beef croquet, truffle mac n cheese, beef carpaccio, plus a lot of others all ranging fro $6-8. And it's all really really good. Happy hour drink selection is minimal. Red or white wine and a choice of 2 beers for $5. But I think the food menu makes up for that. It can be kind of quiet in the summer time until later on. (good or bad depending on what you're looking for) but picks up on the evening and is pretty lively anytime in the raining season. I can't speak for their dinners, I mostly go for happy hour only. Although the times that I have, the price point maybe be slightly much for for what you get but it's still good, just not as nailed down as their happy hour menu.

Kevin B

I got their special pasta with pork and bacon for a company lunch, and it was absolutely delicious. The server was very friendly and really elevated the experience!

Richard Sze

$50 for breakfast for two and they can't even get the eggs cooked right. Ordered poached soft, came medium hard. Only offered to redo them as we were finishing meal and too busy to flag over without making a scene. Been here many times for dinner, never again for breakfast.

Stephen William

Excellent food at a very reasonable price. Great lunch spot if you are in Yaletown

Pooya

Food is excellent and made with passion! The staff here love what they do and it shows. Shout out to Bobby, Eric and the rest of the crew for making my visit an enjoyable one. Will definitely come back the next time I'm in Vancouver!

Abhinav Checkervarty

Ummm DELICIOUS! My pics say it all.

Linus Van Pelt

Service was decent, had the halibut burger - same as my last visit if I recall, as I'm a sucker for halibut - but this one needed more sauce and fell apart too. It's almost a knife and fork sandwich, with a decent amount of fish, it's just hard to keep it together. Thankfully, the Flying Pig send to have ditched those shoestring fries for normal fries. Coleslaw is tasty, and dessert was pretty decent (creme brulee) if a bit grainy/eggy. Prices are typical Yaletown; everything feels a buck or two too high.

On an impulse stopped to eat before catching the train to Richmond. Impulse was triggered by a promo gift card to stuff in my wife's stocking. Understandable that lingcod and the vegetarian option are not available due to the upcoming Christmas break but why after ordering a few appetizers does it take almost 3/4 of an hour to find a manager to process a gift card.

Gary O

The management and everyone that works there is sooo nice and the food is incredible! We came in with a big group yesterday and they were super accommodating and friendly. The manager took the time to come out and chat with us and made sure we were comfortable. Best experience in a restaurant I’ve had a while!

W Lyons

Long wait times, small portions, and quite expensive. The food was mostly delicious. Polite staff

Nazanin Sh

The service was great, however the food was just okay. Portions were very small, and everything was very overpriced. I know it's Yale town, but still. Clams did not taste fresh, and had lots of grit in them. I do not recommend them. Sliders, fries were yummy.

Renee Andrews

Great food and service A bit pricey..

Asoke Papaly

When checking vaccine passports, no scan, no ID verification, my passport could have said mcloven on it and they wouldn't have noticed. Staff seemed unengaged and seemed like everyone was ready to go home, customer service was terrible.

Aman Darred

Joshua gave us the best service, what a charming guy. So engaging and sincere. Stupendous experience at The Flying Pig thanks to Joshua! The pig is lucky to have you on the team!!

Jesse Taylor

Red wine braised beef, my hold back is the waiter called it rib; it was good but it wasn't a rib.

Youwei Teng

The food was nice, the marrow appie was tasty. In hindsight I would have got an entree as the pasta was average.

Nick White

Great food...great service thanks to Maddison and barman Aussie Tim...our young family were made feel welcome and both the kids menu and main menus were exquisite...

Henly J

A fantastic spot for happy hour (3-6pm on weekdays) in Yaletown. My friends and I shared the mussels and fries ($10.75), salmon cakes ($7.50), and the cured meat and olive board ($8). The drinks were also super yummy. I had the starlino spritz ($8) and the highballs were also well priced. Would definitely come back!

Wesley Lee

Forget everything else on the happy hour menu, show up for the mussels and grab a pint of whatever's flowing. Nothing else tasted remotely as good and I don't even like mussels.

Kirill

We went to this place after Church ceremonies an before dinner reception during the happy hours. The dishes were just OK, Beer was nice and cold! Service was friendly.

Aman B

Great service and ambiance, but it doesn't make any sense a virgin gin and tonic was more expensive than a regular gin and tonic. Perhaps the lighting could be turned up a bit as it was quite dark in the corner where we were seated

Lorenzo Parker

This resturant has a nice vibe. We ate on the patio, however they do NOT take reservations for the patio. This was made very clear. We took our chances and got a seat. They staff were friendly once at the resturant but on the phone the guy was a bit snippy. The food was good. We ordered the mussels and and fries, as well as the paella. Both dishes were tasty, but not much better than average. Overall this was a good experience.
