REVIEWS OF The Flying Pig Olympic Village IN Vancouver

My friend and I ordered Maple + Mustard Crusted Pork Rack, Herb Crusted Haida Gwaii Halibut, and Crispy Brussels Sprouts at The Flying Pig. This was my first time here. The location was romantic and chill. They did great with the COVID-19 protocols: asked for our contact, social-distanced tables with shields. The food was good but a bit too salty. That's why I took a star off. The service was efficient and friendly. I recommend this place!

Cesar Hugs C

Went for lunch with a friend. We ordered roasted brussels, bone marrow with cheesy bread and a salmon plate which was their special lunch menu item. Brussels were awesome, salmon was quite okay but the item that dissappointed me was the bone marrow.they had this 2 huge bone marrows with nearly nothing inside. In thr picture it looks as if it has a lot of marrow but its all dried up and stuck to the bone. Maybe due to overcooking.. It was not worth the money u pay. I may go again to try other items but bone marrow is definitely out for me.

Winston Fan

very cozy place for a date, good wine selection , good appies!

Belinda Lai

The food was fine but the service was weak. We waited a very long time for wine, and then another long wait for the bill. Would be nice if they had more interesting vegetarian options/protein too.

Thea Treahy-Geofreda

A wonderful meal for celebrating my daughters birthday. I had the steak which was done to perfection. All other goodies were done very well. The staff was pleasant and it was a very nice evening.

Diven Yeung

LOVE their happy hour pricing on great wines and good food!

Marcus

Good overall but not fantastic for the price of $45 per person x 4 persons that we paid through Dine Out. Dishes we had were Beef Carpaccio, Prawn and Crab Cakes, Beef Striploin and Crusted Salmon. For dessert Salted Caramel Chocolate tarts. My younger teen said that she was hungry after the Striploin, etc and wanted to go to MacDonald's.

Irina V

Good hearty food that can always be relied on . That french toast was sublime . I also love getting their three pea soup as my go to comfort food on rainy days

Jordan Birch

Amazing food, great patio (feel kind of bad for being the only ones out there), awesome service, and good drinks. All around a must.

I’ve been a fan of the Flying Pig in the past but a recent trip to the newest Olympic Village location was very disappointing. Service was great as usual but the Salt Spring mussels were the tiniest I’ve ever seen with literally only 10 on a plate. Not the big bowl of plump delicious mussels I was hoping for. Worse still it was served with a razor thin nest of ‘French fries’ that were just like chips poured from a bag. Impossible to dip in the sauce, which btw was also very bland and watery. My friend had to send 2 steaks back that were very thin and totally dry, having asked for medium rare, on the rare side. The rest of our party were underwhelmed by their food too. Come on kitchen, up your game. This is basic comfort food. You’re charging too much for below par quality. And there’s plenty of good competition in this city. Sadly I would probably now avoid The Flying Pig chain as a result of this experience,

I can say without a doubt this was the worst restaurant I've ever eaten at in Vancouver, especially relative to the price. $15.50 smoked salmon eggs benny came out cold on one thick cold slice of sourdough bread. Everyone at the table had to send it back - some of us had never sent anything back in a restaurant in our lives - and wait yet another 20 minutes for it to come back, this time with the smoked salmon having clearly been put on the bread before they toasted it (you don't cook smoked salmon for a reason). The "side salad" was in reality a stingy handful of greens, seemingly spritzed with, um, water. It tasted like nothing and was literally just greens. Service was incompetent, and even the table was bad - a plank so narrow that one person would be uncomfortable, let alone two people sitting across from one another. $22 later I felt like I had wasted not only my money but an hour and a half of my life. Do not go to the Flying Pig. Coffee was good, though.

Preet Grewal

Great place with outdoor sitting. Happy hour is 4 to 6. Beef carpaccio is very good!

Amanda Aberdeen

Went here for happy hour and it was definitely worth the money. Such a cool, trendy vibe inside and the location is fantastic. At first, I didn’t think we’d find parking (as only street parking is available close to the restaurant at Olympic Village), but at a certain time of day (early evening), it was easy to find parking. Sliders were great – perfect sized trio and ended up ordering this dish twice. The other appetizers were also equally delicious. We were quite pleased with the dishes in general in terms of the preparation, presentation, portion, taste and value. Would come back here again for happy hour.

Dmitry Emelyanov

Very delicious food here, a bit expensive and the setting can be quite loud.

Greg Ochitwa

Visited Vancouver and found this eatery, The Flying Pig, an excellent choice. Food is priced fairly, service was great and the food, very tasty.

Melissa Fong

I made a reservation online about a week in advance hoping to a Monday night at 6:30pm. I could only get 6:15 or after 8. So I went with 6:15. By 6:30pm and until we left around 8, it was about 1/3 full. Service was excellent and place was clean and all separated with servers in masks, etc. The food we ordered was good and consistent with other visits. Ambience is very nice. My reason for a 4: 1. Nothing really for vegan or vegetarian options (though yes, I’m aware it’s called “The Flying Pig”) as I wasn’t in the mood for anything really “carby” or meat/seafood, and 2. I couldn’t get the desired reservation time even when booking well in advance and there was so much space available the entire evening.

Peter Powell

Went with a group of friends for lunch. The food and service was good. Will go back for dinner to try it out.

Sam Seto

Absolutely loved it here! The staff was outstanding, and our server was just on top of the game! Maria, had the most bubbly and contagious laugh, and kept all things lighthearted! She was really personable, and for our first visit to The Flying Pig, I wouldn't have had it any other way! Thanks Maria for being so great!

Greg Eby

Service was okay! Not good food!

Franck “Dirty Blue Groove” Sala

For the price, the quality or the quantity of food was not there. Portions was too small, there was no taste at all. Ordered Wild coho salmon, steelhead trout, lobster prawn risotto. Everything was so bland.

Margarita Ashikhmina

Excellent Food and service

We enjoyed a visit to the Olympic Village in Vancouver a few days ago and for lunch we decided to go to The Flying Pig. Their lunch menu looked yummy and not too pricey after doing some research the day before. We were greeting by a friendly person at the door who let us pick where we wanted to sit as there weren't too many people at the restaurant yet. The restaurant was very nice inside with a good atmosphere and good lighting. The waitress was excellent, very friendly and very helpful as well as honest whether some dishes were really as great as they sounded or not. They started us off with water and some fresh french bread with a side dish of extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We ended up ordering a few appies and side dishes instead of a main course. We ordered the Caesar Salad (pork belly croutons, aged parmesan), Crispy Brussels Sprouts (lemon, parmesan and capers), Salt + Pepper 'Humboldt' Squid (lemon & dill yogurt) & Andrew’s Pulled Pork Poutine (organic pemberton valley potatoes). The service was super fast considering by now the restaurant was almost full. I don't think we waited longer than 15 minutes for our meals to arrive at our table. I was really impressed by that and all the food tasted so good, the squid was super tender and delicious. Usually squid is quite rubbery and tough, but not this kind...so yummy. The rest of the dishes were also delicious and we truly enjoyed it. We will definitely be back in the future!!!

Marianne W

Super quick super professional super fire ????????????

J collinge

Excellent food and service. Dishes are very well prepared. Good sizes for the price.

Vladimir

Amazing place. Great food and service

Daniel Danaher

Most of the dishes are tasty. Good lunch portions. Service is usually good.

Sheena Biln

We were hosted for dinner by employee John Sonier...and it was amazing! The service was great and the food was incredible. Highly recommend to anyone wanting an exceptional west coast inspired meal.

cdunn west

Cozy and modern, perfect place to catch up with friends. Varied menu, excellent food. Cannot say anything bad about this place.

Brennan Wadsworth

Brunt med well steak and still manage to serve it...ps work at cactus

J G

Service was fantastic. Pulled pork sandwich had some very bitter leaves but the manager comp'ed it.

Aaron B

Everything is perfect. Great vibe, tasty food and delicious cocktails.

James Turner

Good food .. and some of the best service I have ever received. Highly recommend going here - if not only to experience the service.

Penny PYL

Good spot for drinks and food. They also b e happy hour from 4 on weekends and 3 on weekdays

Greg Aloute

Very very disappointing. I enjoy the Flying Pig restaurant -am a fan of both Gastown and Yaletown locations- so was happy to try one closer to home at suppertime. That was a mistake! It was extremely disappointing. My 'rare' steak arrived cooked medium.... making the meal less than enjoyable. I decided to give it another try - late afternoon - before happy hour so that there would be no rush... and ordered a simple starter.. bocconcini and tomato - but the tomato was Costco size, sliced 1/.2 inch thick and tasteless, and the bocconcini was mediocre. service was minimally ok both times. This location needs serious work in the service department and maybe another chef! I'll return to the other locations but will avoid this one.

Ron Eggler

Happy hour was great. Food yummy and House red delicious!!

Breanne Cooper

This is my go-to spot for business lunches. Their sandwiches are delicious and they have a decent selection of local craft beers.

Marco Lam

Food is good. Staff are really friendly!

Joel Williamson

Went to this location for the first time the other week. I tend to visit the Yaletown and Gastown locations as I'm usually in that area more. The bar tender here was delightful, we had a great conversations. The food was fabulous as always. And if your on a tight budget I highly recommend Appt Hour!

Nia Kningty

The one in gas town was good so I was disappointed. The one time we went my girlfriend's dish was over salted and my pasta was overcooked to the point it was falling apart on my fork. They brought someone else's food to our table, and they did not come to refill waters in an acceptable timeframe. Would have had a better experience somewhere else, especially for 85$. If you're going to charge 25, 30 dollars an entree your food and service better be damn good.

Jonathan Malmberg

I went in a while back. I had the meatballs and the poutine. I definitely got food poisoning afterwards. Probably undercooked meatballs. I'm giving two starts because it tasted good going down, but I'd rather not try anything here again.

Douglas Kelly

Friendly staff, fresh bites. Very consistent great quality food. Normal size serving.

N W

A beautiful restaurant with a rustic and electic feel. Ordered the braised short rib and it was a bit disappointing. It came off the bone and while looked juicy, was dry. The best part about the meal was the mashed potatoes with aged cheddar. For $27, it was not worth it. The Brussels sprouts were good though!

Jordan Ash

Decent food as always, but depends on the dishes.

D BR

Amazing food Staff is very professional super kind love this place great for dates portions are a bit small of you re a big big guy lol.. much better than other boring franchises.. just saying

Service was not that great and very overpriced for the quality and quantity of food. Very disappointed. 2 stars for ambience.

Jaime Callica

Wayyyyy too much butter in their cooking (ling cod etc)

Dr Robert Armitage

I have never felt obligated to write a review about a restaurant after a meal so I hope this has an impact. I was there with a medium size group of 12 people. I personally ordered the pea soup and a steak, my wife ordered the mussels. We waited forever for our food and when it finally came out it was cold and my steak was way over done out of the 12 people not one said their meal was good. They fixed the mussels and offered to fix my steak but I was too hungry to care at that point. At $160 for 2 people I expect a lot more from a restaurant, this one was no where near up to par.

Howard Huang

Very cold atmosphere. No, interaction from the servers Food good but that's all

Eric S.

Great space, great value and delicious food! The bone marrow is always to die for. The margarita was also refreshing, slightly spicy and hit the spot.

Nguyen Hong Hoa

Service

Michael Hermann

Our server was amazing! Great service. We just ordered all the apps and was more than enough food for 2 people

jennifer turner

Shady tourist trap style pricing. Using small fine-print to double charge for an average food. Will avoid from now on.

IH Y

Update: Following the conversation with the manager we got a full refund for our meals and an extra 25 CAD voucher each for the next meal. It definitely made us feel significantly better about the place especially because we've been regulars there. I really hope that in the future similar situations could be simply resolved on the spot and not only as a response to someone's review:) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Waited for 20 minutes to get our drinks and 40 minutes without getting our food (in a half empty restaurant) and only when I asked them about what's going on they told me that there were too many orders and they are busy, but will bring out our food right away. That took another 10 minutes. In the end we had to ask them to box the whole lunch, because our lunch hour was over and we had to get back to work. They didn't even offer a compensation or a discount. Simply bad taste.

Donna Lorimer

We had reservations and were seated immediately upon arrival. The wait staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. We ordered the cheesy bread with bone marrow and chicken with bbq sauce appetizers. Both were very tasty. The cheesy bread was very garlicky but we all are good with that. The chicken was very tender with a great tasting garlic sauce. We all ordered different entrees. The Lamb Bolognese, Pork Chop, Veal Piccata, and braised short ribs. We all raved over the tastes.

Z D

Great appy happy hours 4 to 6 and 10 to 12. Amazing food with a nice atmosphere. A little loud for a date but awesome for a close group of friends that want to share.

Jin

Good beer, good service. They have a nice little patio area out front. It does go right out to a main road but it Vancouver when dont they. Nice and spacious inside. The service was prompt and well done. Staff were well dressed. I cant give a 5 star as the chef forgot to put the pulled pork in my pulled pork Sandwich. It was quickly rectified. The server noticed as she got to the table. Would visit again and i do recommend.

Nadeen Boman

A bit pricey, but much better food then other establishments in the area.

Haohua Li

Great food and service . Good covid protocols in place. Parking is usually pretty easy in the immediate area.

nayeli bautista

Very nice staff, we had the three cheese macaroni and Humboldt calamari. Both tasted fresh and amazing.

Jennefer Boudreau

Always a great experience. Jessie is especially attentive

Neil Diguangco

Enjoyed a very nice meal here. Would recommend.

Dave Sharp

Late night happy hour menu changed due to covid-19. No more beef carpacio or beet bresaola salad. Still good food.

Lewis Mc

Great service always, great food and a fantastic atmosphere

james yauk

Very boring food. Would not go again for happy hour.

Linc Johnson

Great service, food id delish, good drink selection

Mark Rocchio

Brunch was great and bartender was super cool . 1942 Julio as an option is a must try

Carl B

The Parmesan Brussel sprouts were fantastic. Had complimentary banana bread to start. Can order good little side dishes. Great patio for brunch!

Estate Guru 셰인전 Since '99

Appy hour also 10pm to midnight, not listed in their website. $6 appetizers is actually a pretty good deal :)

jacob gleeson

This place is good :D I like the service plus people are so chill

Hoori Barkh

Great service and the food was pretty good. We got the platter and it was quite a substantial amount but it was a little on the pricey side. Giving 4 stars because the platter mentioned that it is served with trout, but we thought what they served us was salmon.

Had an unfortunate incident of what felt like discrimination on Thursday. I had arrived at flying pig and sat for about 15 minutes, no menu was offered and no water service. Having worked in the industry myself, I assumed it was because I was late and they wanted to keep the table flipping. This was not a busy evening. Our server rudely told me "you haven't ordered any food and you've pulled a chair over", I responded "I'm sorry I should have asked, could I get a menu?" Our private conversation quickly became an open humiliation when she responded loudly over the table "well are you actually even going to order food?" , in which I responded "well, why else would I want a menu?" Her original message though rude was very understandable. As a business owner with employees/friends/family at the table, the public humiliation was in poor taste. Vancouver is a progressive city, it will be difficult to enjoy any meal with such discriminating delivery. I later had a $98 dollar bill, I believe would be an average amount for any customer. In respect to the manager that took $30 off for this incident, this is a 2 star review. Please, especially in scenarios where your customer is directly complaining about the service, it would be wise to adjust the 18% gratuity next time. The server's identity will stay off this post, as I've clearly learnt public humilation can be very damaging. I was promised this would be brought to the GM, the manager on staff did not ask for my contact therefore this shall remain a mystery. Food was honestly passable, but unfortunately was far from the focus of the evening.

Jenna Collier

My favourite lunch nearby. Perfectly sized portions and the fish is always flawlessly cooked. I'd definitely recommend.

James Yang

Perfect for happy hour! The appetizers were wonderful, as were the drinks. Ambience and service were great as well.

Rivas Karen

Had Thanksgiving Turkey dinner here and it was amazing! Will definitely be back for the regular menu. They were out of couple of the appies I wanted to try though.

Leo Ching

I've always wanted to check it out and glad that we were able to recently. Food was great and the evening we went, (Thursday) was not too busy. Ordered Beet and goat cheese salad, Bone marrow cheesy bread, Mount Lehman Roasted Chicken and Red Wine Braised Beef Short rib. We got our appetizers the same time as our mains but this could have been due to someone in our group stating to bring everything at once which we only found out when the food arrived.

Johnny Fan

I became violently ill after eating the happy hour mussels. Made mention to them and they took over three weeks to respond. The service was average we waited over 10 minutes on the patio for any acknowledgement when they weren’t busy and I had to go flag a server inside to get a drink order. I always give people the benefit of the doubt as I have worked in the industry but I won’t be going back to this place again.

Matt

Rib eye was too salty, order medium it turn out well done,it took long time to have my beer. Not a good experience here.the girl who serve our not bad but not the others.

T Kung

I like this place but I asked for a medium rare steak and got a well done steak, the matchstick fries are really dry and difficult to eat. Not sure if I should be using a fork or eating each of the 500 mini fries by hand. Good beers on tap. Excellent service. Great location. Cool spot. 3 stars for food I got.

Kevin S

Food was a bit bland. As a brunch spot it's mediocre for selection, taste, and value.

Jean Chen

The food wasn't the anything special. My friend and I got sick from eating the mussels. I emailed the restaurant to let them know because that was the only thing my friend and I had eaten in common that day. It was my first time at the restaurant. They did not make a good impression. It took almost a month to get a response from the restaurant. Their response was really poor. I love food and I have a background in the restaurant industry and culinary arts. I will never attend this establishment again. There are a lot better restaurants in Vancouver. That's my personal opinion of my experience.

Evangeline Dalaya

Good service good food

Wes O'Hara

I live nearby and have come here often in the past and more often than not, I have had to flag a staff member to be seated. My last visit there I watched at the hostess stood at the far end of the restaurant away from the front door on her cellphone and did not come over to greet us until she saw me waving at her. The food is alright, with the exception of the truffle macaroni which I think is awesome.. But you can give me styrofoam doused in truffle oil and I would still eat it... I really like the space, it's big, clean and the lights aren't too dark like other restaurants. With the exception of host/hostess, their staff is professional and attentive

Chanelle Dupre

Salty salty salty!!!! I felt like my food was so salty and they didn’t even take it back nor offer any compensation. I got the short ribs with bone marrow and mash (was so bland). Probably one of my least favourite meals I ate on this trip.

Mojgan

We had a great brunch at Flying Pig this weekend. The cocktails were delicious and the manager on duty was really great. They should have the bacon and mushroom Benny on the menu each week. Loved it.

Tiberio faria-correa

Friendly and efficient service during happy hour. Food delicious.

Jason Lucas

Maria is the BEST server for a Friday night!!! Amazing energy and so efficient ????????

Julie Tu

Had an excellent lunch. Outdoor patio in nice weather is hard to beat. Enjoyed the Pulled pork poutine and the cold beer.

Graham Knights

Great meal and really great service! Went for my birthday and even though they don't normally hold reservations for the patio, they were able to accommodate my special request. It was just two of us, we had the rib eye, crispy brussel sprouts and the halibut. All of which was delicious, especially considering I am very picky with seafood I was highly impressed with my halibut! If I had to pick one thing to improve, it would be the slight wobble in our table.

Caroline Topperman

medoicre food, lacklustre service. don't go when its busy. Vancouver offers so many other better options.

Katie Lee McConnell

The Flying Pig Restaurants is a Canadian local restaurant. It has 3 locations in the lower mainland, includes Gastown, Yaletown and Olympic Village. The one I’ve been is The Flying Pig Olympic Village. The restaurant is brand new, located on W 2nd Ave Street Vancouver, which is 10 mins walk from my old apartment downtown. I went to the Flying Pig only once with my classmates on the weekdays. Although it was a weekday, the restaurant was so busy. I am strongly suggested to make a reservation before you go. Environment: The restaurant is divided into two parts. People can eat inside or they can eat at the patio. Since lots of people were inside the restaurant, we decided to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. Service: The servers in this restaurant were all nice and friendly. After we sat down, the server came to our table fast and took drink orders from us. The drinks came and refilled very fast. Our table server was also helpful. When we couldn’t decide what to order from the menu, he introduced us the items from the menu and gave us a great idea to order the food. Food/Prices : The food on the menu is all in Canadian Style and fancy. The menu breakdown has a wide range of items with a small portion pork selection. The price of the food is a little bit expensive. The starters prices are all around $11. The main meals are around $27 – $30. Because we’ve been during the HAPPY HOURS (Available every day between 3pm & 6pm Monday to Friday; 4pm & 6pm weekends at all locations), all the starters were half prices. We didn’t order any food from Main Section. We had couple starters to share. The food came fast and fresh. The taste of the food was great. In summary, it was a great experience having dinner at The Flying Pig Restaurant. I would like to come back to the restaurant again in the future. In the end, I highly recommend going there during the HAPPY HOURS. It was a great deal for the starters.

Fiona Wong

Good food. Plentiful happy hour. Bartender Josh maybe not so experienced, a little less attention than could have been provided. 4 PM on a Sunday afternoon and not busy by any means.

Great "date-night" Venue! Comfortable & Classy - really good service & delicious food.

Had an unfortunate incident of what felt like discrimination on Thursday. I had arrived at flying pig and sat for about 15 minutes, no menu was offered …

So me and family were looking for a place to eat after a Jiu Jitsu competition at the BMO Theater last Saturday Sept.21. Read reviews but since they were decent we decided to give it a shot. We got seated fairly quick as there was only 5 tables that were occupied. Orders were taken fairly quick which was great. 30 mins later for 2 hamburger orders and a fish sandwich our orders finally came. Fries were hard and burnt, coleslaw had no dressing, and the burger patty was cooked medium rare. (Big mistake when serving burgers, steaks are ok) then server came back once and didn’t even bother topping up our waters. There was about 4-5 people working in the kitchen and to get your orders 30 mins later and your fries are burnt? Never ever going back to this place again. The crispy fish sandwich even came after the burgers. Oh by the way, the pea soup came in after all the sandwiches arrived, hahaha when did the soup ever came last? Manager didn’t even apologize for the delay and there was barely anyone in the restaurant.

Whitney Lucas

Really great food, great waiter, good drinks, and we were able to get in right away. ????????

Txomin Hermosilla

Good location that you don't have to drive into downtown for their food. Great atmosphere too.

Alexa Freudigmann

Great place for happy hour. Service is always on point

Chris Schlichter

It was a friends birthday last Friday and he decided to arrange dinner at Flying Pig at Olympic Village. It was going well until i decided to leave early for another event. The general manager who's name was Brooke brought me my bill and told me that my friend had phoned in and reserved 17 seats but it might be less than he expected and he acknowledge that. But he still wanted to charge me for the food I haven't ate. How do you charge someone for food but had only came in for some drinks? He quickly then resolve the problem and I continue along my way. Overall I dont think the pricing is suitable for the food that they serve and I seriously wouldnt go back to that location, because of the experience that I had with the manager

Solomon Wong

Excellent attention to detail from all staff. A very busy and decent sized menu could not be completed any more efficiently on my NYE. Beautiful job staff. Thanks to the chef who realised a mistake in our dish and recorrected with a complimentary new one.

Tina Lo

Flying pig is not bad. We ordered the calamari as an appetizer, this was fantastic! I had the steak as my main dish and my friend had the clams as her main dish. My steak came out as requested the flavor, was okay. My friend did however enjoy her clams and we both shared a brussel sprouts side dish which we also both enjoyed. The staff here is friendly and the Flying Pig attempts to be eco-friendly by using paper straws.

Pachi Gambra Arregui

Average food, overpriced for what you get and service needs a lot of work. Unfortunately will not be coming back :(

Freya Shaw

Great food, great cocktails and great service. Go for happy hour.

Aphinity Whitesided

Ordered from uber eats. Got the corned beef hash. For some reason they hard poached the eggs. Ive never seen someone do that before at any restaurant unless its requested. Im not sure if thats their standard or if the cook is just inexperienced. I also ordered a Cesar salad and it didnt come with any dressing what so ever. The side salad which came with my corned beef hash also didnt come with any dressing. Just a garbage place all together as far as im concerned. I would never come eat here based on this.

Sandra Friesen

Happy hours wine price acceptable. Coffee to expensive and not that good Salmon cake great. Staff alright and corteous.

Eddy Wallace

We order the brussel sprouts, the rigatoni and the ceaser salad. The brussel sprouts were over fried, black and bitter. They were mixed in with the leftover fried bits of other things that had been in the fryer. After pulling off the glob of lukewarm cheese, the ‘bolognese’ was a watery bland slop. The only distgiushable flavour was canned tomato. A pool of red water sat at the bottom of the dish. The Caesar salad was acceptable, the pork belly was good and everything else was flat. Service was slow and clusmy, our drinks where empty for a long time and our bill time was long for what we ordered. If you want to eat meh food in a nice dining room at least cactus club is consistent and quick in their mediocrity.

Hendrik J Britton

Food and service were good. The brussels sprouts are my favourite.

Dino Yao

I wish I could give zero star if that’s possible. We went to Flying Pig as a group of 4 with a baby and a toddler. After we got seated, we waited for half an hour before the server finally came to take our orders. And then we waited for another hour and the food still didn’t come (We were already one of the first few tables to arrive the restaurant when it opened at 12:30) We were told that they were short staff for the day but the neither manager nor the server tried to make an effort apologize or offer any compensation. We ended up having to leave at 2pm without having any food as our toddler was already overdue for his nap time (luckily that we did prefer food for him!) The service and the overall experience were beyond terrible. I’m writing this review while eating leftovers at home as we are already starving :(

Iva T

We had the best industry care from our server Maria. The home style food and amazing dining experience deserves a visit. Thank you sincerely!

Go there if you want to spend a lot on a super dry chicken. Also - the service is mediocre. I do not recommend.

Becca Citlali

Was very yummy! Amazing service. Great ambiance. I have gluten and soy allergies, and they went above expectations to meet them. ❤

Karen Berndt

My first time at this location and wanted to try the dine in Vancouver menu. Did not disappoint. Especially liked the crab croquettes crispy on outside but flaky and creamy on inside. Great flavor with fresh greens and sauce. Followed with steak, potatoes and charred broccolini. Loved charred flavor. Presentation gorgeous but with steak sitting on top and potatoes under, made it wilted but still good. Dessert was flaky and intense salted caramel. Liked it but tend to prefer more mousse like desserts but that’s a personal preference. Can’t wait to return to try different options

Grant Gallicano

Very good food, fast lunch service. Friendly staff. They were able to accommodate all dietary restrictions well.

Great food and service. It is not a loud restaurant, but I wish it was a bit less noisy.

Michael Jacoby

Everything here tastes amazing but if you don’t get the bone marrow cheesy bread then you should seriously question your life choices.

I'd give it 3.5 food is pretty good. Feels like another chain restaurant. Very noisy once the restaurant starts to fill up.

Good place. Lovely atmosphere. Evenings are better than the daytime. Came with a large party and they did pretty well accommodating for everyone's needs. :)

Red Murphy

Went before a Canuck game and the place was packed. Even know it was busy we had great service. Didn't have any entrees, but the Brussels sprouts were amazing, as well as the risotto, and poutine. The Flying Pig Lager is great, one of the best house beers I have ever had.

Pat Sissons

This place was ok at happy hour. I would say average but good for the price during happy hour. Food portions are ok but not large but good for sharing if you get a few different items. Our waitress was nice and friendly but food was just ok.

James Campbell

Wonderful dining spot In Olympic Village and thanks to the Manager Alberto for taking the time to come say hello. Also the bartender Connor for pouring up great drinks. Seated right away on a busy nite and helpful staff. See you guys soon!

Sanford Lee

Too expensive for a pedestrian 7oz steak and a super average and not tasty pasta. The steak was too hard and dry and I cannot imagine a professional chef would have cleared that garbage to come to our table. I will not be considering coming back with my wife unless we both feel like eating junk food grade meals at 10 times the price.

Geoffrey Anderson

It is in my utmost disappointment to find out that your restaurant is closed on the reservation time WITHOUT any notice to the customer. I am forced to travel all the way from Richmond to your restaurant only to find out in the rain and cold that you did not open during Christmas day. It is extremely unprofessional and irresponsible.

Bran-tastic

Truffled mac and cheese was amazing and the pappardelle too. Nice atmosphere and good service in general.

Ben Poitras

Nice food and good service. We were there for brunch.

Mike Tanyi

Terrible brunch today. Banana bread smelled fishy, egg whites were still gelatinous on overeasy eggs, sausages looked and tasted like cheap supermarket breakfast sausages despite the menu (and price) suggesting that they were 'artisinal'. Server was inattentive and seemed half asleep. Not going back!

Andrea Wood

Great atmosphere, food is good

D&A

Amazing food..southern style so lots of heavy sauces. Service is ok.

Ritesh Maisuria

The manager, Pepe, and servers Donna and Aidan were all very attentive to our needs, even with COVID-19 protocols in place (that seem to minimize staff and customer interactions). We felt well cared for and had all of our food and drink inquiries answered. With the exception of our brussel sprouts appetizer, which was a tad salty for our liking with both capers and parmesan cheese in it, all of our entrees (braised beef short-ribs, seafood pappardelle, and veal piccata) were tasty and thoughtfully prepared. With its cozy, rustic, yet sophisticated space, solid food, and attentive staff team, we will definitely come back to this location!

Nusheen Dhamani

Great atmosphere, food was pretty good.

Jo Huige

the waitress i had here was super funny and made the dining experience all the better! would recommend this location.

Anne-Marie Butler

Very tasty food, great service.

LMN 1984

It was okay! Not a lot of options for vegans or vegetarians, but the food is beautifully prepared. Drinks are normal priced. Parking can be a hassle, but hey it’s Vancouver. I have to come from white rock so for people like me it can be a deterrent. I was in a party of 8 and found the service to be slow, but it could be different if you’re in a smaller group.

Alex Liu

Patio is a fantastic oasis from the bustle of the city. Walking distance from Olympic Village. Great service, good food. Make a happy hour stop here, to top off a great afternoon. Bonus insider tip: they don't mind if you tie your dog up on the outside of their patio fence. 5 paw points out of 5 ????????????????????

Jess Jung

Service here was great and the waiter did a terrific job. We ordered two appetizers to start and they both tasted great. The entrees seemed to be quite pricey here considering Google has the restaurant listed as $$ which kind of surprised me. We ordered the west coast seafood paella but the risotto ended up being really salty. Overall, the experience was decent and I'd probably give it another try but not any time soon.

Joel Armstrong

I always say that I am not really particular with what is delicious and what is not ..I just eat anything... But the food in the Flying Pig is just fantastic..it is a must try... I am not a pasta person but their triple cheese and truffles baked macaroni is just amazing to the taste buds...the steak is soo mouth-watering and the baked bone-marrow appy with the super cheese bread is so delicious..... And they were so nice to serve a free birthday cake with a candle..

Sara Carlyle

A friend of mine didn't like the calamari, and instead of being apologetic, the waitress asked him a ton of questions, specifics of what he didn't like about it...After she walked away, they bring out the head chef who does the same. They asked if he wanted a replacement meal, he politely declined. They ignored him, and brought him out chicken wings. I guess they were offended after he didn't touch them, because they didn't even bother to clear the dirty plates from our table despite us staying for another 30+ minutes to finish our drinks, ultimately urging us to leave, bringing us our bill before we requested it. Needless to say, I will not be returning, despite recommending this place to my friends due to a good experience I had at their Gastown location. That rude waitress needs to learn some manners, and needs to learn to not take it personally if someone doesn't enjoy their food. I have never in my life had someone not clear the dirty plates from my table, but it was clearly out of spite. I wish I could give it less than 1/5.

Nice little hide-away bar/Bistro. Staff are great - quick and attentive. Beer on tap selection is good and the appies are attractive.

Anna Macaranas

Great happy hour on Fridays with cheap sleeves of Flying Pig Ale and great 'appies including Mac & Cheese, Pulled pork sliders and charcuterie platter.

Steve Morgan

They have an awesome happy hour with so many affordable appetizers. This is their third location in Vancouver so you know they're doing something right!

Noémie K

Went during "appy hour", so prices were quite good, especially for the mussels at $6.5. Location is not as popular so it was very empty which is a plus. However, food was mediocre so I would not come back during regular hours.

Kathleen White

Came here for appy hour. Everything we ordered was just so greasy. Would prefer to see more fresh things on the appy hour menu. Service was sub par, somewhere between 'whaddaya want' and 'eat and get out'. Maybe that was an isolated incident with one server on a bad day, but it definitely turned us off the restaurant.

Jakub Bilan

Good service. Wish I could remember the waiters name(very warm and helpful)

Flora Yu

Delicious food, friendly and unhurried service, spacious shaded patio. Great lunch spot, will definitely come back.

Pheebs

Good food. A little pricey but friendly staff nice atmosphere. Wasn't too busy. will definitely go again.

Vanessa Araujo

Planned on going to a another bar in the area but came across this one, glad we ended up here, food and service was excellent!

Fireman IV

Good food. The daily specials are great and the ambiance is pleasent. Preferable to thedowntown one in my opinion.

Greg Stortz

Came for Happy Hour and enjoyed the menu. Bartender was friendly and the food was good. Will keep on my Olympic Village roster of places to go.

Stephen Willey

Great atmosphere for Sunday brunch! The free banana bread that welcomed our party was great to start our meal. Food quality was delicious!

Hope Reynolds

Great place, great food, service! Love their food choices. Their clams and oysters are so so good ;)

Johnny Yeung

Very upscale atmosphere with a limited menu of high quality food. Great place for a few drinks in a very coveted location.

Thomas J

Amazing food and service! Worth going to any of these locations!

Craig Carey

Went to happy hour yesterday; tried to make reservations for 5:00 pm online it said none were available but when we got to the restaurant it was practically empty. We got seated on the patio and ordered from the happy hour menu. Food came extremely fast; probably faster than McDonalds but I can say that McDonalds would of been better. Nothing seemed freshly made if anything it all seemed re-heated. The poutine was dry to the point of asking for more gravy which didn't help because it was bland and seemed to be missing salt. The Sriracha BBQ Chicken Drumsticks were dry, bland no spice and again seemed to be re-fried. The mussels were fine nothing spectacular. We were still hungry but extremely disappointed simply paid our bill and went next door to Wild Tale. I'm aware of the fact that Flying Pig and Wild Tale are part of the same group its surprising to me how different the quality and experience was.

Elysia Saundry

My partner took me here as part of Dine Out Vancouver for my birthday. Thanks to Jessie for making me a mystery cocktail tiki style. His good humour, willingness to get creative and make sure we had a great time made this experience memorable. Support local business and pop by to say hi with a drink or two. COVID safety measures are in place.

Jordan “jordantrizz” Arthur

My family came here to celebrate a special occassion. The menu stated that their steak was aged for 21 days! At $40 plus tax a steak, one would expect a meat that will just melt in your mouth so my son and I tried their steaks! It is the worst and toughest steak ever! - it was tough going through it as the there was so many veins that made it tougher to cut and chew. No way their steak was aged for 21 days! No way their steak should be anywhere near $40 plus tax! A $10 steak is better than this! My other family members tried their pasta and lamb dishes -and it was like they just poured tomato sauce on it! All of us were nhappy with our meal and when the waitress was told about the toughness of the steak, she just listend (without hearing) and walked away and handed me a bill with 18% auto gratuity. I did not know they had an automatic gratuity for 8+ people and they claimed they told us when we make the reservation but they never did -- as I made the reservation!! This automaitc (or should I say forced) gratuity in Vancouver is ridiculous! Isn't it easier to serve one table of 8 than 2 tables of 4? Then why penalize a group of 8? And what if I do not like the service? Such a dumb practice! Bad Food ! Bad Service! Bad practice! Stay away!

Tomas Beblar

A great happy hour menu, regular menu and neat venue!

Suzi W

Food portions were big and overall food was good but on the heavy rich flavour side . Restaurant is a bit crowded and noisy and it was hard to hear my friend.

Linda Nguyen

We were initially seated at a table where it was so dark we could barely see each other let alone what we’d be eating. The manager happily reseated us at a table near the windows. Our meals were excellent and so was the service. Good to hear that proof of vaccination is coming into effect to ensure the safety of staff and diners. Thanks to our mighty tattooed server who braves the customers each evening. We enjoyed a memorable dining experience. Stay safe out there! ????????????

Greta Ryan

Updated review: the service definitely dropped. Came in for a late lunch, hoping to catch happy hour and even though there was a lot of people walking around, no one acknowledged us for a long time. There was another table seated but they were completely ignored. Another group of people were drinking but it seemed like they were affiliated with flying pig and they were the only group that was acknowledged in the restaurant.

Piotr Tompalski

Happy hour from 3-6pm is always fun here, but we've had dinners here for birthdays or group outings. I am big on service and service has been consistent at this location. I like that they can take walk-ins and the manager will often check-in with dining guests to ensure they are enjoying themselves. Our favourites are the brussel sprouts, mac n' cheese, chicken drumsticks, and lobster risotto.

Barb Agostini

Had a great meal - food quality as expected from The Flying Pig. Went with the Charcuterie board and wings to start, and then got the onion rings and truffle mac n' cheese. Plus tables were spaced out, staff wore masks properly, and checked as we came in for vaccine status. All in all a great meal!

I ordered a rib eye and asked for medium. It came well done and over salted. Server was slow. Asked for refills and server took a long time. Saw my drink sitting on the bar waiting for it to be picked up.

Jessica Czegeny

Great service, good location, good patio, but the food is a bit overpriced and unexciting.

Kris Kennedy

I was surprised to discover that after visiting the Flying Pig in Yaletown that another location existed. I always thought it to be a brunch location but this instead was set up more as a casual dining experience with a long bar. The barman was attentive and a pleasure to deal with. Great experience all round. I will now frequent both locations equally :)

Dennis Pang

Always consistently good quality and reliable. Friendly staff. This place is my go-to for brunch.

Ali Meraji

This review is for the Happy Hour menu only. I ordered their lager and poutine. I also tried their special beat and cured tenderloin salad. Food and beer specials were meh. Poutine was super salty and fries were over cooked. If you sit on the patio, it’ll be super loud with sirens going off constantly.

Joe James

The Flying Pig offers more than just pork. My family visited for brunch and we all had a variety of dishes; mine was vegetarian. Their smoked salmon Benedict was cooked perfectly. I had a frittata for the first time and I really enjoyed it. We also had a cheesy pasta with pulled pork if you want something closer to the heavier side. I must mention, the free starter banana bread is delicious and a good reason to come back for more. The service is welcoming, cheerful, and friendly. We brought a couple kids and a high chair was brought over right away, along with another chair for our baby in the car seat. Water is topped up promptly and food was served on time.

Vincent Leelin

Racist restaurant, skipped us when we were in line, directly helped the white couple behind us , totally ignored us, the host was a white balded white guy, no manner at all

Steve Duke

Visited this location over the holidays for lunch with a large group. The space was roomy and welcoming, with nice interior finish. Parking was available outside the restaurant along 2nd Ave. The menu had a variety of items to choose from, though the lunch menu did not offer all the items on the day we visited, as it rotated with the brunch menu; there are also daily dishes to choose from listed on the walls. Food is served fresh and the portions are very generous, definitely will fill you up and tastes great overall! Good spot for casual fine dine-in.

Graham Bingham

I love the happy hour here. The wine is fairly cheap and I love the mac and cheese. The brussel sprouts aren't on the happy hour menu but they are worth trying as well. I don't recommend going here for dinner or brunch. The dinner menu is quite limited and brunch is pretty basic.

Norine Shim

Totally thrilled we got a reservation on a Saturday at peak time! Turns out it's dead! More than half empty between 7-9. Mediocre service is likely to blame for the lack of biz? I hope its more because of the long wknd., our sides came when we were almost done our meal, we had to administer our own parmesan (bonus!) Night was saved because the food was very tasty..Walking out at the end I noticed a special's board I would have liked to hear about as well ...maybe next time ill ask.

Andy Wall

It can be hit or miss sometimes. Brunches are always excellent, where as dinners sometimes are sloppy rushed and overpriced. The 'platter' however has always been very pleasing and consistent and a great value.

I have always enjoyed coming here prior to many covid restrictions. I love it even more now with the way they've been adapting to make things work by keep up to date with local covid guidelines. They always have great staff and this time it was nothing short of that. One of the manager struggled to get the outdoor heater lamp working but he never gave up. When he finally got it working, the big smile behind his mask was transparent with his eye. The food is amazing as always. Thank you guys for welcome everyone with warmth (pun)!

Andrew Harmsworth

Good food, good service, good location, and good place to enjoy all of the above. Recommend.

Pooya Jaferian

Awful food. The pork we ordered was overcooked, dry, and tough. The chicken we ordered somehow was overcooked in one leg and still raw in the other. The only redeeming item was the tower of onion rings--but I'm also not a picky eater and love any fast food store onion rings.

Kevin Shen

Solid food and drinks... Brussel sprouts are delish... The pork with the poutine was insane

Seriously Satirical

Been here numerous times. Good food and good staff. Can’t complain. Happy hours are the best!

bob gifford

I find The Flying Pig overpriced and unsatisfying. I struggle to find something I’ll enjoy on the menu but the service has been great when we have visited.

Kirk Chantraine

We had crab and shrimp croquettes and Bison carpaccio, crusted coho salmon, and mushroom rigatoni and caramel chocolate tart for dessert. Among all, I didn’t like the salmon that much. The carpaccio was the best.

Jacky Chen

Great atmosphere fabulous service ..went for happy hour stayed almost all night! Happy hour food was wonderful mussels, salmon cakes, drumsticks , macaroni, poutine, salad really good! Happy hour drinks great selection..we didn't feel rushed had a really good night thanks to Flying Pig!

Jason Ng

You would never expect this place to be a chain. My favourites are the beet salad and braised beef short rib. It’s a must x1000

Joe Loeppky

Hi, I went here today and Got pork poutine , onion rings and banana bread pudding . And I was so disappointed cause the gravy sauce was burn and onion rings were soggy and small portion . Also the banana bread pudding takes more than 15mins and it taste like microwave. Kitchen looks not too busy, so I’m not sure why it takes so long to make. I used to like their food . But not anymore.

Nicole

Love happy hour menu but the main menu is kind of... bland.

Devlin Fenton

The Flying Pig runs very hot and cold for us...We are a group of 8-10 that meets regularly there every Friday night. As much as they take reservations (more places do now with Open Table) we just get annoyed with the inconsistent service and forgetful servers. They charge for good service! I never tip more than 10% as they inevitably drop the ball on every visit...I have mentioned this to the Mgr. more than once and he just meekly apologizes. We're looking at other choices in the area.

Andrew Szalontai

Great overall brunch menu, Corn Beef Hash with Side of Hashbrowns were delicious!

Ann Badjura

First time at the Flying Pig - had brunch. Server was great - awesome tattoos too. Eggs benny were delish! I added back bacon for $4, but only received two very thin slices. Def not worth $4 guys. Brunch dishes only come with a side salad, and if the salad was prepared well it would be acceptable. However, it was a very poor attempt at a garden salad, and none of us could even tell if it had dressing on it. They do offer various add on sides, including a big hash brown - it was great! Perhaps adding a small hash brown and GOOD half garden salad would be a better deal for the price of these brunch dishes. So, def not the worst experience, but certainly not the best - lots of room for improvement.

Mike Halwa

Greeter was super fun and energetic! However our waitresses weren’t as friendly...

Nasa Rouf

Great place for appies or a meal Service is top-notch, prompt and professional I bring clients here for lunch or dinner meetings and know that there won't be any issues with service or quality

Sara Krejcik

Always an amazing experience. Pretty consistent with taste but a few times my food was cold.

Ryan Carey

Food was so good. I ordered two side dishes as my meal. Too many things I wanted to try. It was fairly busy. Definitely would make a reservation if going with a group.

Donald Chiu

My friend and I had dinner here on Friday, 4th Dec 2020, and i was pleasantly surprised. The reason being , when other friends that visited restaurant during dine-out Vancouver did not enjoy their experience at all. HOWEVER, during my visit it was fantastic. The staff were all attentive, reasonable friendly and anticipated our needs. The meals we ordered were the brussels sprouts, poutine, veal, and meatballs. As soon as the poutine was ready the kitchen staff brought it to our table and it was some of the best pulled pork i've had in a long time. Soon after we finished that our main course arrived. Veal and risotto was creamy but not heavy. Next time we'll definitely leave room for dessert. Thanks Fly Pig Yaletown for providing a lovely experience during this unusual time. XO Ps, the staff were diligent about sanitizing and politely reminding guests to wear their mask while moving through the restaurant.

Marie W.

Came here when I was pregnant and really enjoyed the split pea and ham soup!

Arthur Bruce Cheung

Good and drinks are great. Hostess are nice but servers are not.

Joann L

Always top notch food and service You can’t go wrong. Great happy hour Can’t wait to try the Sunday roast

Nauhie Kim

I came to The Flying Pig for Vancouver Dine out. Overall, the experience was pretty pleasant. The squid appetizer was very good, so was the three pea soup and pulled pork poutine. My main course was blackened snapper, I enjoyed the relatively light and hearty meal. Desert was also good, banana bread and ice cream. Service was excellent, and the atmosphere and decor is appealing as well. Definitely worth coming here with friends, a special occasion, or just casually. Overall, nice experience but food wasn't quite 5* for the price.

Manu Gill

Decent food and service. Not the healthiest but tastes great.

Love the jumbo mac and cheese and brussel sprouts. Liam and Joe are amazing! Would highly recommend coming here :)

Amazing service, excellent beer and good food. What a great atmosphere! I love it.

Maria Garcha

very good location and great happy hour deals

Adriana Van Leeuwen

Love coming here for late night happy hour. The truffled mac & cheese is delicious and at a very reasonable price. I typically relax with a glass of house red to cap off the night.

Cliff Fong

I have eaten here twice and had the same experience both times. Service is good, atmosphere is nice but food is very mediocre. Everything is drowning in sauce, generally greasy/stodgy, and not very flavourful. North American food at it's worst.

KG Sung

I came in to celebrated a friend birthday, expecting a simple meal and night with my friends and it became one of the worst night I had in a restaurant. Literally, the general manager of Flying Pig, Brooke, was constantly gazing at our table and talking behind our back to his staffs. I even heard that he told his staffs to "get these people out of here" while glaring at us. I don't believe that a general manager role should be to lead his teams by insulting and disrespecting their customers. Even though this event had spoiled our mood, I find the foods to be mediocre at best and overprice for what it is. The only thing that I remembered decent was the platter we got for our appetizer. I don't know whether it is normal at Flying Pig to have an 18% gratitude fees, but it made me sick to my stomach to tip them that much for what they did to us. I would not recommend anyone to go.

Gma Chacha

We had really great service here. The food was also very good albeit expensive for what it was.

Patrick Wong

Now this is some brunch of good quality! @flyingpigvan . . ???? signature corned beef hash: slowed braised corn beef, 2 poached eggs, potatoes, hollandaise, organic green . . I already knew that the corned beef would be good but what surprised me (in the best way possible) was the potatoes. I loved the texture and the flavour of them. I normally save the best part of the meal to last and in this case, I actually saved the potatoes! Highly recommend this place! .

Erick Hutchinson

Food was awful, really suuuper salted calamari and we order a cold meats and cheese board and came without chesse...for their ridiculous prices do yourself a favor and go dine somewhere else

Branden B

Came here on a Saturday night just after 10pm for what we thought was happy hour. Unfortunately it wasn't until the couple next to us was paying the bill and overheard the server tell them "oh you must have been looking at the happy hour menu" that we realized perhaps it wasn't happy hour?? We literally pointed to the items we were ordering on our phones from the happy hour menu to the server. Maybe one could say they have the same items on the dinner menu, but no, there were clearly some happy hour menu items. At no point, even when our server came back to confirm our order because she had forgotten, did she mention 1) it's not happy hour and 2) when you order off the happy hour menu during non happy hour times, you will be charged extra. 100% we would have been fine with that, but let us know when ordering?? I thought it was common courtesy to let customers know? Surely we weren't the first party that was surprised to see the bill, as mentioned our neighbouring table was also shocked. Maybe the server had an off day... Also, while it is middle of July and masks are no longer mandated, but encouraged for those not double vaxxed (are all servers part of the essential services group that got vaxxed early and the 20something-30 yr old staff there all vaxxed? Hope so.), if you are looking for a restaurant where staff are still wearing masks, the Flying Pig in OV is not it. Food wise, the quality was underwhelming especially for the dinner menu prices. The chicken wings had a 'been sitting in the freezer for too long' taste, the mussels were mushy, about 6 of them still closed. Maybe not cooked long enough? I'm not sure. Sangria had two slices of oranges as the fruit component. The best part of the meal was the little chunk of bacon on the Caesar. Sadly would not recommend this restaurant. At least not for evening non happy hour ????

Edward Molinar

Delicious food, they have a great deal for happy hour appetizers. They have great comfort food for rainy Vancouver days or hanging out with friends.

Don Sherrah

Server took my plate because I was only drinking and assumed I wasn't eating lol, the beer is alright.

Rob Crone

Had amazing service and the food was excellent. I think it might be my favorite location for Flying Pig now.

Bernice Chen

Cozy ambiance, a little too noisy and stuffy. Otherwise it's a great place to hang out with friends. They have a small menu, nonetheless many items are delicious and in good size portions. Drinks are unique with a different twists, they don't feel watered down.

Rena Tabata

Nothing special. Food was just okay but was on the expensive side. No view to see, service was not bad though.

Jimmy Thomson

One of the best The Flying Pig locations. Great service. I had the corned beef hash, and while it didn't resemble corned beef, it was delicious. A nice, slightly sweet bbq flavour with perfect poached eggs and a nice hollandaise sauce. My partner had the Croque Madame which he said was great. Both were serviced with a light spring salad. Not huge portions, but food value. Give it a try.

C V G

well-balanced, savour food, great ambience! must try: red wine braised beef short rib wild seafood pappardelle

Mahkeela Hohl

Quality food, excellent atmosphere. All the sides/appetizers are amazing.

Kris O'Neill

Food is ok. Fish is not the freshest in the market. I ordered halibut dish. Service is ok too. We have a big table with children so it was hard for the server to keep track with everything. We love the cheesy bread with bone marrow.

Qadeem Salehmohamed

The food and service were awesome. We sat outside and enjoyed the view.

Rocky Sethi

Really good portions here. Had the braised beef, marrow and mash. It was so good! Drinks were decent as well, and service was great! Gets pretty packed in there, so don't wait too late.

Mike McDonald

Crowded seating. The servers kept bumping into me as they walked by with no apologies. I love the Gastown and Yaletown locations. Won't be back to this location.

netali goren

Parking is easier in this location than gastown. Recommend their truffle Mac N Cheese and crispy Brussels Sprouts( a little bit spicy because of the chilli flakes, they can make it non-spicy.)

Yves Duranleau

Went for happy hour. Salmon cakes and pulled pork sandwiches were decent. Mac and cheese was bland. Poutine was okay. Service was good. A bit pricey for happy hour.

Cooking Exhaust Air (grease/odour/smoke) has polluted the neighborhood for long time, limited time available for residents to open windows. Staff smoking/cigarette butts issue has never been solved. Designated smoking area should be provided and enforced (check worksafebc?) We are happy to support your business, but do you have a plan to provide courtesy to the community?

james Copeland

Takeout experience for this review. I have been here before and I remember service being pretty good and food being ok, I recently ordered takeout and was super disappointed at the microscopic portions. I ordered one of their fish dishes and the piece was super small on a small bed of veggies and rice. It was a small container and the food looked like it was occupying maybe 30% of the container. And each meal was over $35 with tax and tip. You can certainly get a better $35 meal elsewhere. I hope they read this review and adjust their portions.

Billy Lam

BAD SERVICE! The server was absent for most of the time we were there (+- 3 hours). We tried to get her attention multiple times as she walked by and eventually she came over. We attempted to order some food and she said it wasn’t available and walked away. No offers of anything else on the menu-nothing! The ONLY service we did get was from the server at the bar. He provided us with our drinks and an appetizer. The managers were also aloof and not attentive. I understand that service can be difficult sometimes but this was well below normal. I had better service at Wendy’s drive through on the way home.

Enoque Gubiotti

Really great brunch. I recommend the asparagus fritatta. Haven't tried for other meals yet.

Brad Burgess

Nice place. Good food. Friendly staff. Overall good experience.

Clarence Tang

I visited this place when it opened and i havent been back for years till recently for their happy hour. Again, its a little disappointig that they dont have alot of options for vegetarians/vegan. The food is somewhat too greasy and salty for me. The price is reasonable and the atmosphere is great. The staff are friendly. I live right beside them so its very convenient but parking around there isnt great for anyone coming with a car. Its only great for grabbing a few drinks. Not a place for me but seems like a popular place.

Jaelyn Knopp

Lunched here with my sis. We shared too much food.... In 3 words: too much cheese. The cheese was on everything! But nothing was really good. Only nice dish was the Bone merow cheese bread. It was not anything unique but simlply a bone with merow and tosted baguette bread with melted cheese. Also we had pulled pork putine- too wet, fries to raw, too much cheese. Brussels sprouts- we're Ok I guess not restaurant cooking quality. Ceaser Salad- with 3 tiny pieces of Becon on some lettuce. The Cauliflower dish we sent back as it was not cooked enough and the flavors again were only cheese and cream, very boring, so we had the mushrooms dish instead as recommended by the server, like the Brussels sprouts not wat I would expect to find in a restaurant that is considered to be good. So I left with a tummy ace, but not a satisfied tummy.

Ricardo Sarmento

Over the years I've never been a fan of their menus and they are pricey

Declan Tran

Food and service were great.

Matthew Bains

Happy hour is decent. Price right. But it's a bit hit and miss. We ordered poutine, short rib croquettes, beer salad, pulled pork sandwiches, mussels and cure meat platter. Only the mussels with the smokey flavour and the nice BBQ sauced pulled pork stood out. But overall it's great value for happy hour!

Jaemie Sures

Amazing! I had the short ribs with marrow and it was incredible. I got the 'humbolt' squid extra spicy and it was actually the best squid I've ever had. The chef overheard that my kids were hungry before the rest of our party was ready to eat and brought out raspberries for them on the house...this is the sort of thing that takes a resturant from "good" to "something special" I very strongly recommend.

Claus Laundrup

I have been to this restaurant few times but today as it was busy for brunch our hostess was rude pushing things to our table. Now I know it is not an easy business but do the customer have to pay for workforce being understaffed? I go to a breakfast which cost me 50 dollars for 2 people to start the day with a bad experience? Being understanding do not mean being taken advantage of.

J. Carr

This was probably one of my top 5 meals I've ever had. Atmosphere was on point, service was exceptional, and the food was amazing!! My girlfriend and I will definitely be back again next time we venture into Vancouver.

Vi “LiVi” Li

Amazing servers with delicious food. We were there for 5 hours just enjoying our time and not once did the establishment made us feel unwelcome. The drinks and food was always arrived in a timely manner and ordered many food items and devoured all. Drinks were strong and delicious! The manager of the night was the nicest and so polite. The servers kept their smiles and was very efficient and friendly. Minor issue with some of the bill but there was zero hassle and did not make us feel like there was an issues. Just the best!! Thank you so much Flying Pig!

Ryan Devlin

Hello, thanks for the amazing experience yesterday. I think the name of our waitress was Dana (as per the bill), she was so friendly and we had lot of fun speaking in french with her! The foods and wine were so good and we will definitely come back here. Could be great to put some jazzy or lounge kind of music instead :)

Scott Cadwell

Quiet, safe social distancing, warm and comfortable outdoor dining. The meal was the usual high quality and comforting. What a great experience

Matt Beckstead

Always enjoy the red wine braised beef short rib with the mash and bone marrow. It’s one of my favourite dishes.

Peter Belling

It's alright. The food tastes okay, but the lay-out/decor could use work. Was fairly expensive.

Shane Trapp

This is a solid place with a decent Happy Hour. The truffle Mac and cheese is heaven! It could use a LITTLE more truffle oil, but I guess for the happy hour price for $8 you can’t go wrong. I usually sit at the bar and the bartenders are always attentive and friendly. The “regular” menu I find a little over priced for what it is, hence the 3 stars. Their cocktail menu leaves something to be desired, it’s pretty basic. I just stick with the wine. Over all, it’s probably your best bet for HH In the neighborhood.

Anahid saadatmand

Vancouver staple. So happy that a second location opened up. The food and atmosphere are both excellent!

W D

The ambience and service was good. Our waiter was friendly and inviting. My boyfriend ordered the veal with a substituted pork poutine and the veal was too salty. My meal, on the other hand, was the braised short rib with a substituted lobster and shrimp risotto side. The short rib was bland and dry and the risotto was bland. Out of our two meals, the only delicious product was the pork poutine.

Brian Digno

Great atmosphere, excellent food. A real pleasure to visit

Great food and service, could work layout as it feels squishy.

Great food and drinks! If Jesse is your server, you're guaranteed a great time!! #TeamJesse

As a server I expect better then glue served as risotto. Service was ok. Sliders were good. Risotto was bland and gross. I wouldn’t serve my dog that glue.

I think the first place I enjoyed brussel sprouts when they opened a few years ago. Server was pleasent, but maybe stretched tonight? Menu seems heavy, more stick to your ribs type of choices Having said that, we both had the NY's, and were happy.

Ot Kli

Poor service, greeter looks you up and down, waited 15 minutes after being seated before service came by to offer water, walked out. (The restaurant was almost empty so that was inexcusable)

Ken Nguyen

Came in for brunch and ordered the eggs benny with shaved ham. It was a solid Benny but the service wasn’t the greatest. Had to wait a really long time for water which felt like torture given how salty the Benny was. Extremely small water cups at the table that require constant refilling. When we asked to hold a water jug at the table the server said they aren’t allowed. They also refuse to carry franks hot sauce and insist on shoving sriracha down everyone’s throats as the only hot sauce option.

Janet Chan

Really excellent. Fast service but not rushed. Not a massive choice of menu items but that is sometimes a good thing and in this case it was. I had the veal piccata and my friend had the braised beef rib with bone marrow. Both were amazing. Sides are big enough to share so we order the Chilliwack Creamed corn with jalapeno and cheddar. The food was amazing. Had a Moscow Mule as a pre-dinner cocktail and a reasonably good Granacha with my meal. Food is on the upper end of the affordability scale but if you are in the mood to splurge a bit, this is the place.

Little Peanut

Love the lunch menu, we ordered blackened steelhead trout and it was a great choice. Healthy and local ingredients elevate the whole dining experience. We also ordered Grilled Brussel sprouts that is not on the menu but should definitely give it a try! Attentive and friendly service, looking forward to come back again!

Food: 3.5/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 3.5/5 Would recommend: It's OK, there are better spots in Vancouver. The Flying Pig in Gastown is very good, and it was disappointing that this location did not compare as well. For some reason when we visited there was no one at the front waiting area so we stood around awkwardly for someone to take notice of us waiting at the entrance. Otherwise the service was good. We ordered poutine and the salmon sampler. The poutine was not the best, soggy and small. The salmon sampler, which has a few different preparations of salmon on it was tasty, I especially liked the fried salmon cakes. I think the Flying Pig is great in Gastown, but for some reason it's not as high quality here.

SH L

Not as good as other locations, and for the price, it needs to be. Update: Did go back, not out of choice but Nook was curiously closed on Family Day Monday so we were left with F.P. as our immediate dinner selection. I was pleasantly surprised - food was good, portions just right, service friendly and non-intrusive. The fare isn't going to blow your mind or be any sort of foodie destination (that is sometimes a good thing) but was generally well prepared and flavourful with only minor things that are too trivial to mentionl, more my own pecadillos really. It certainly was a pleasant surprise - so thanks for the improvements, FP!

Joyana T

The short rib was so tender it just pulled apart, no need for my knife. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

K K

I took a special visit to drive out and the staff was unattentive. It had apparently been very busy that day so I was trying to be understanding. I was looking for a dip and it seemed like a hassle for them to look for it in the back or even tell me the price.

Sandeep B

Less than mediocre steak paired with high prices..I can do better at home, no view... Better places in the area

Amber Marple

Food was decent but I don't believe it warranted the price. Service was slow but pleasant.

Sultan Badger

Food is moderately priced and service was friendly and attentive.

OJ H

Great food, sampler platter was a great way to try a large amount of the menu. Clams were amazing as well, but the shoestring fries that it came with were a disappointment.

Kyle Geach

I have never been more satisfied with a restaurant and such a large group. We had 35 people join us at a birthday party at this place and the servers nailed it. The food was incredible and the service was perfect. The GM was great at checking in and the servers also asked many times how things were going. 100% recommend a party here!

Ryan Brush

Pleasant but unremarkable chain restaurant. Happy Hour was okay, but won't rush back.

Delicious food and great service! Love the new seafood additions the oysters were great. Our server Jessie was great, he anticipated our needs without us having to ask and suggested things that we ended up loving - will be back!

A8drian S

We had a great meal last night. We were guests of Chef Johnny and had an amazing experience. The service was on point, but not overbearing. The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. I couldn't decide if the steak, salmon or risotto were the best part! And the brussell sprouts... love!

danzel chen

Food wasn't the best. Very loud venue, had to shout. Service was good at least!

Henry Fung

Decent brunch, Street parking out front, decor is attractive, staff friendly and attentive

Adam Mullock

Brunch is good. Location is big enough that it's often busy but no wait to be seated.

Jacob Rush

If you find $8.50 Sandwich from their menu you need to double check that is the right price tag just like you must do this in RCSS all the time Haha..

Lance

Food was very underwhelming. Braised beef short-rib was dry with not much flavour. Mussels came out with no broth in the bowl and had to be remade. Hazelnut crust on the ling cod was stale; replaced with a seafood pappardelle which was quite watery with little seafood. Heard decent things about this restaurant which makes this visit even more disappointing. Will not revisit. Service was good.

jesusloco187

Good food items for happy hour - beer choice could be better

Nik Godro

Always amazing service and great food!

Tony MCMURTRY

Flying Pig has a decent atmosphere with a creative menu for "Appy hour" - unfortunately the quality of ingredients is really lacking.

Adreena Chan

Delicious food and great for sharing! Nice atmosphere and service was excellent. Busy but no waits when we arrived around 8pm, they have a good happy hour menu as well earlier and later at night. The pork is amazing and mussels!

Chelsea Lu

Way below average food at a way above average price. My piece of Cod was both tiny and over cooked, the vegetables were oily and disgusting. My colleagues had the Paella, over cooked yellow rice with some shellfish. The bearded door man floor manager was rude and arrogant to help bring out the best in the evening. Give this place a huge miss. Better value at Macdonalds

Антон Ефремов

Great experience with the food and service. Atmosphere is amazing, I went there on a date night with my partner and came out pretty happy

Kacey Wilson

Food is always great. Atmosphere is awesome to.

Gilbert Mui

Wine Wednesday 1/2 price bottles. Charcuterie board small for the price and strange rules around having to "double" or "triple" order. Lobster risotto amazing.

Alice Huang

We had a very nice meal here for dinner! We (4 of us) shared the meat and cheese board - it was presented very well and tasted great and good value too ($8.95 per person - I think). I had the New York steak ($31 before tax) - it was cooked beautifully and the accompanying sauce was delicious. It came with a massive portion of very thin fries (which were nice, but not amazing) and no veg - I would have preferred if it came with half the fried and maybe some seasonal veg too - however, the steak itself was gorgeous. The restaurant was very well laid out, nicely lit and had a pleasant feel to it. Our server (an English girl) was okay - she wasn't bubbly at all and quite stern in how she spoke, which was notice by all of us! She may have just been stressed and busy, but she needed to work on the way she spoke - she had very little time for a joke & a laugh! Overall a pleasant experience and the food was very nice - I would go back!

best deep dish pizza i have ever had!! amazing service and great ambiance, will definitely be coming back.

I think the location is great. I'm glad they were able to squeeze in a small patio which I enjoyed this summer. It's a noisy street but if you know the area you know it's heavy in traffic so all the patios are loud.

Shae Peterson

Noticed that there was a Rodent Poison Box right underneath our table where by 8 year old was sitting half way through the meal. I found this very disturbing / concerning as rodent bait is extremely poisonous to humans and for this bait station to not only be placed in the dining room but right underneath the dining table where the contents may be kicked / disturbed and potentially released into the air while we are eating. This incident has put me off of ever coming back to this restaurant, but I certainly hope they remove those stations for the sake of other patrons.

Overall, our dinner last night was pretty rough. I will start with the positives, the location is in a great spot, tons of tables and the decor is cute and well thought out. To the negatives, there is not a SINGLE veggie entree option. What a disappointment. Secondly, about half of the already very small reasonably priced red wine selection was out. The menu as a whole is overpriced, thoughtless and disconnected. I was very excited to try this location but the lack of a number of my wine selections, coupled with the inability to eat anything other than a salad truly ruined the experience.

Flying pig is always consistent with their quality of food and drinks. This is a great location in Olympic village

Mai H.

We went out last night for the dine out menu, the butternut squash was missing salt and the purée for the salmon was extremely salty. The only thing I liked was the dessert. The service was very slow, it took an hour for the main course to arrive even though we went for a set menu and we were only three in the group. In Covid times with less capacity, i would expect faster service! Don’t squeeze too many people if you can’t maintain good service level Sadly another hyped up place in Vancouver!

Service was pretty good, but the food was mediocre. It is weird cause it did feel like the food was mostly well-made, and the presentation was good, but I do have the following opinion: (1) The mussels arrived luke warm. (2) The marrow …

Peter Lane

Authentic place, I love the service and food. They have all option even for vegetarian and non-pork eater ! They are so friendly. We had a company event over there and I like the place. The fish (Wild Salmon) was delicious.

Sevilay Ezbiderli

One of my favourite restaurants! This particular location has a very open feel and I enjoy the decor. The food is fantastic! I had the pasta with the wide noodles and seafood (can't remember the name) and it was much better than I expected! I enjoyed the fresh bread they give you to start as well. Service is excellent, too! The only issue I found was parking, but I was lucky enough to get a meter spot right outside. Recommended!

Denise Ikuta

Great decor and food. Staff was pretty friendly.

W L

Very good place for drinks and tapas! Very good service as well! Love to go there! Great location too!

Elston Howard

Good food but if you are dairy intolerant be aware most the dishes have some form of dairy and you have to ask.

Tom Lawrence

Nice patio and good food. Was really impressed with their kids offerings. Great value with fresh market fish and panko crust chicken pieces. Best kids menu we've seen in a long time.

Chris Wong (The Dancing Tourist)

Great location in the Olympic Village with plenty of street and parkade parking. The food seems pretty generic and overpriced for what you get. It's fine, but nothing exciting. One unique thing is a caesar salad with pork belly "croutons". That's fun.

Great location, bigger than the Yaletown location and smaller than Gastown location I think. Creme Brulee was nice.

I celebrated my birthday there as I normally like to do. And everything on the menu is always delicious. I am a huge fan of the happy hour, apple cider, pulled pork poutine, chicken drummettes, their attentive and amazing fast service, etc. The amount of lighting in the restaueant is always perfect. ????

Darren Rae

Came here with a large work group. The staff were very attentive and the appies and drinks we ordered were all delicious. The salmon cakes were really great to share. I ordered the veal picatta with parmesan risotto, which was okay. The veal was cooked well, but the capers were a bit overpowering in the dish. Overall, a good experience and suited our work function perfectly.

M Ghabel

Everything here tastes amazing but if you don’t get the bone marrow cheesy bread then you should seriously question your life choices.

Denis

Burgers are delicious. Eggs are undercooked.

Well, not much to say except that our experience was completely different from the other flying pig locations, the most expensive steak was mostly fat and tendon, with side being basically tiny skinny fries that tasted like over fried chips (why?) and cheap wine worth of $15 is served with 200% mark up ($47) also service was not the best… well I don’t think we will go there ever again

thomas robertson

Food is ok. It is funny to see them displaying wines by the window......

Kaye

Decent clean place. Staff somewhat stand-offish. Not a large selection on menu. Fairly good quality of food.

Meichin Likok

Excellent service, amazing vibe and great food. Best service and food as we needed to be in and out quickly. The braised beef with bone marrow and mash was so good, still dreaming about it. Highly recommended.

Jennifer Rodrigues

Great service, meat was great but pretty expensive for what it's worth... Ordered the most expensive cut but was pretty disappointed for something that's worth $60. It okay but I wouldn't recommend dining here because of its price. Value is not worth but if money isn't your concern, no problems here.

ed louie

Terrible steak and service! Before ordering my steak, I emphasized to the waitress that I want it to be medium well. I mentioned how the other Flying Pig in Gastown had completely ruined my steak in another event, so she'd ask the cook/chef to ensure the right cooking. The steak came completely welldone. The worst part is when I pointed it out, the waitress was absolutely disrespectful. She asked us if we wanted another one as per best offer. Being at a large table with friends, we took about 30 seconds to give an answer, she jumped in telling my wife 'do you want it or not?' with an absolutely angry tone. I called the restaurant the day after to let them know. The manager said he'll investigate and call me back. No one did and more than a week is past. Will never go back to any of the Flying Pig branches. A steak isn't hard to make, and a respectful waitress isn't too much to expect.

trytuy fgfh

Vancouver staple. So happy that a second location opened up. The food and atmosphere are both excellent!

Andy Crees

Food was pretty good. Had the special platter. Steak on it had some parts overcooked and some parts cooked medium rare. Overall was good meal. Service was a bit slow for a large group. I would have assumed more staffing or attention to a confirmed large group. Staff were nice and helpful. Friend returned a dish and the staff made it very easy and made sure the next dish was good.

Angus Murray

The food here was fine. I was honestly disappointed. I got a baked pasta dish and it didn’t have much flavour and was over cooked. The service was unfortunately bad that night too and that was apologised for at the time. The restaurant itself looks great and I know it can be a nice place to eat - so maybe better luck next time.

Kelly Hall

Delicious comfort food, nice atmosphere, and great service. I've been to all 3 Flying Pig locations and each time I've just ordered all the sides (no entrees) and split them with someone. Would recommend the crispy brussels sprouts! I saw another review that said the food was too salty, but I think it pairs well with beer (the Glitterbomb Hazy Pale Ale was yummy). I can see how the food might get too salty for me if I was only sticking with water. When I went to this location last night, I was surprised that there was a much smaller amount of bone marrow that came with the cheesy bread compared to previous times I've ordered it. Our server explained that it depended on the size of the bone, but acknowledged our concern and asked the kitchen about it. They sent out a larger bone that was similar to my previous experiences. Kudos for graciously correcting this! Would definitely come again.

Renbo Huang

I went there for brunch. The place is a bit pretentious, and the food has no flavor.

Daniel Amos

Fairly priced, chicken is fantastic despite being a little over cooked. Great value

Liv FM

Always amazing service and great food!

Preeti A

Great place serving delicious dishes made with local ingredients. The staff are friendly and the rotating daily special menus are always an enticing option. Price does run high, but food is well worth it!

Karen L

This restaurant is very busy. Service was good and food was good.

Ashley Hogg

Stopped by for Happy Hour and tried the Beef Carpaccio, Beef Short Rib Croquettes, and Truffled Jumbo Macaroni with house wine. Even more delicious than I expected!

Glen K

great for casual experience. their side menus are great add to all entrees. overall service is great. great for parties

Bobby Brar

Food is good but portions are a bit skimpy.

Louise Quiding

Had a delicious brunch at The Flying Pig Olympic Village today. I simply asked for an off-menu plant based dish, and let them create something, and it was just what I wanted. And delicious. The server, Dana, was extra accommodating as well.

Simar Sidhu

A cozy place for happy hour (as they call it Appy hour)! Their mac & cheese, beat salad and salmon cake are my favorites and their wine is pretty good too. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for brunch. As I think there are way better places in the lower mainland for an amazing brunch, but their service is always good regardless of how busy they are.

Laura Florio

Great service, great food

Dave Wang

Service was pretty good, but the food was mediocre. It is weird cause it did feel like the food was mostly well-made, and the presentation was good, but I do have the following opinion: (1) The mussels arrived luke warm. (2) The marrow toast had the wrong ratio of marrow to toast (not enough marrow). (We spoke with the waiter about this, and they did try to rectify this problem, and it was still a poor ratio of marrow to toast after they tried to rectify the problem. The ratio was 1/2 a marrow to three slices of cheesy toast.) (3) The cheesy toast that went with the marrow was too oily - like dripping oil. My sister thinks they added too much olive oil. I thought it was just from the cheese on the toast. (4) The arugula that came on the side with the marrow had too much lemon juice. Maybe if it was assembled with the marrow and the cheesy toast, it would have been okay. (5) The Brussels sprouts were too burnt for my liking. (Good thing one can just peel off the top burnt layer cause they are Brussels sprouts. Too bad the lighting means you can't see if it is too burnt or not until you take a bite.) (6) Too much lemon juice on the Brussels sprouts for my Asian palate. (7) Can't taste any lobsters in the lobster risotto. (8) My sister thought the frites that came with the mussels were spicy enough that the word 'spicy' should have been in the menu. Final thoughts: individually, none of these 8 items would have earned the restaurant a "mediocre" food quality rating, but together, it means that something is really lacking in the kitchen. Three other minor, non-food-quality-related comments: (1) Would like an extra inch or two of knee room at the bar seating. (I am 5'5'', so not particularly long femur.) (2) We ordered two "sides" and two "appetizers" that was more than enough food for dinner for two average sized women with a healthy appetite. I feel the categories they chose for their menu items were not intuitive to a restaurant-goer, and made determining the correct amount of food to order difficult. (3) I sat there pondering the ethics of a restaurant using an Avalon Milk bottle as their own water bottle. Note for the noise sensitive: this is a noisy restaurant.

Katie Morin

Cozy, comfortable atmosphere, unique menu selections that dare to stray just slightly from the ordinary (in a good way!). The beet salad didn't look huge, but was fresh, delicious, and surprisingly filling. A lot of hearty menu options for both brunch and dinner. Prices are slightly higher than average, but the service, quality of ingredients, and presentation is worth it!

Percy Cheung

Always consistently good quality and reliable. Friendly staff. This place is my go-to for brunch.

Bill L

I tried the Onion ring, Cheese bread with bone marrow, and brussel sprout. Caesar salad with pork belly. Sirloin steak and Creme Brulee. Fantastic service. Delicious food. Highly recommended!

Julia Chung

I live for the seafood pappardelle! Hands down one of my favourite pastas. I like the layout of this location. Super spacious, great layout, and they have a beautiful heated patio with plenty of seating. Five star service from the moment I walked in. I was greeted straight away, offered a cozy table, and the staff were very attentive. My glass was always full and my server was friendly, accommodating, and knowledgable. Highly recommend a visit to this establishment.

Ronald F.

Fairly good food for the value, quite noisy on a not busy night. Ambience was good, service was good. Will be back again.

Dawn Spring

The items in the menu sound fantastic and look great in the menu but what you actually get is a bit of a let down. Perhaps I was expecting more based in the reviews friends had given me.

Anne F

Good quality meals and attentive service even though it is part of a bigger restaurant chain. I specially enjoyed their snapper with veggies and risotto.

Amy Nguyen

Good food and great staff

Manny D

We went there for my wife's birthday with bunch of friends. Staff were great, the place was beautifully designed and the food were delicious. Wanna shot out to our super awesome servers Kylie and Maddie for being helpful, kind, patient and professional.

Rosenth Raja

Very disappointed with the service and food that was served to us. Order 2 steaks medium, both steaks arrived 40 mins later well done, Vegetables were very bland no flavour. Over all very disappointed as we was really looking forward to a nice meal.

Jo Ro

Great food and atmosphere and is a fave spot for brunch.

Gary O

I've had, what some would call, ATROCIOUS service at this location in the past. So bad that I didn't visit [this location] for 3 or so months to allow for the horrible taste to leave my mouth. My most recent visit though: amazing. From being greeting at the door and patiently allowing my to survey the restaurant for the PERFECT seat (lol) to my server whom was utterly perfect, this was by far my best Flying Pig experience to date. I'm sad I can't remember my servers name, but she was funny, knowledgeable, never gone too long, set my serving utensils down on a plate not the table... Perfect. I'll be back if for NO other reason but her!

W Lyons

Food was decent, but the service was a disappointment. There were only a few groups seated while we were there, yet our waiter barely acknowledged us. We were only given one spoon, but our waiter never back to our table after dropping the food off to check up on us. However, a group that came in shortly after us seemed to be getting a lot more attentive service which was surprising. It felt like we weren’t wanted at this establishment. In addition, when we went in July 2021, FOH staff were not wearing masks.

Renee Andrews

Really enjoyed my latest happy hour visit here! Jumbo Mac and Cheese was to die for and very reasonably priced but what made the hour really happy was our amazing server Dana! She was super friendly, attentive and just a hoot! For me, great service goes a long way and Dana's service was top-notch!

Linda Birchwood

5 stars for the walnut old fashioned alone (but the food is always great as well)

Neha d singh

Wished it could have been better. First time dining at The Flying Pig, ordered the classic Benny with medium eggs. The eggs came out in the shape of the original egg, like it was cooked with the shell on. One was fully hard boiled and the other was runny?! Is that suppose to equal medium? I didn’t complain because we already waited a long time for the food. I also agree the kitchen is slow when the dining room was not busy. Not planning on going back, so I don’t recommend it for brunch.

Teo O.H.

The food was fantastic, and the bone marrow was particularly good.

Normand Frechette

Food is good. Service is not. Would definitely be a 0 star for service especially at the door. We we're pretty much blind to the host as he kept assisting people who came in after us even though we'd been standing in front of the desk waiting for awhile. We spoke up after he proceeded to help the person behind us and was finally assisted. Gave it 3 stars because the food was decent and the service at the table was acceptable. The rep of flying pig has apologized for this but my opinion is still the same. I have never experienced this in other big chain restaurants even at their busiest time they will serve based on first come first serve.

Colleen Lau

Good food, nice location, nice decor - just a bit overpriced
