This is the best vegetarian food in the city, of not the best food period. Both times we've been here we've gone with the chef's choice option where they bring you whatever they want from appy to dessert. We've LOVED every dish. Everything is so fresh that it looks and tastes like they just harvested everything that day. The food is also creative with flavours I've never experienced before. I cannot recommend highly enough!

Michael O'Farrell

Food is amazing.. Servers are great.. Ambience is good.. But food is really expensive and very less quantity.. Each person need to order a starter/appetizer and a meal to have a filling lunch/dinner. You end up spending more than double the amount you spend at any other dine in restaurant..

Shaun Guimond

Excellent service and very delicious. Most dishes had mushrooms in them and they were so helpful with my menu choices. Highly recommended ???? ???? ???? ????

Katherine

Unique, tasty vegetarian dishes presented beautifully. Unusual selection cocktails and mocktails worth trying. Don't forget to leave room for dessert!!

The food was great. Luckily we managed to get a reso during dineout. We have tried to eat here several times without luck. There is usually a 2 hour wait. I dont think I would wait for that long to eat here though. Carrot gnocchi was delicious.

Tungesh Kapil

We were at the restaurante yesterday, thinking in a good meal, but Surprise! , yes there was a very tiny tiny meal, that cost lots of money for what you eat. Yes it is vegetarian and it may have a wonderfull presentacion. And yes it has very young waitreses, and the place imay look fancy but it is not, and location that it is questionable. Any way, the experience was Extremely expensive and very pretensoius. If I knew that, I would never had put a foot in that place.

Taya Umrikhina

Love everything about that restaurant. Great ambience, always good music at the right volume, very knowledgeable staff with happy-to-have-you attitude. The food is mindblowing! And so are the wine pairings. The oysters is a must. We've been there 5 times over the last 2 years and that restaurant is improving with every bite. Never had a bad dish there. Just love it.

Patrick Brouder

Local ingredients, incredible plates, cozy atmosphere. Make sure to arrive early! There is usually a line by 5pm when they open!

The food/vegetables were very fresh and the dishes were quite unique.

I am not a vegetarian but this restaurant made me reconsider. From food sourcing to plating to flavour, The Acorn is a must try for those who appreciates a reasonably priced fine dining experience.

Aris Bernasconi

Incredible vegan food and service. The atmosphere is beautiful but don't feel the need to where a dress shirt. The drinks are as sophisticated as the food. I can't recommend the acorn enough for a special occasion.

Tim Kozody

Exquisite healthy high end vegetarian and vegan dishes. Classy atmosphere. Perfect for a special occasion or date

Vero Villalva

I loved it. Went there as a recommendation from a good friend, checked hype online and did NOT dissappoint. I recommend this place as if there is no other. Awesome chef

Talid Jalbout

Favorite gourmet vegetarian restaurant. A sophisticated yet cozy atmosphere and an elevated experience for your palette with excellent customer service.

Food 5Stars; Hospitality 5star; Ambience 3stars You go to this restaurant for experience it’s expensive but it’s totally worth it. They had Covid measures in place. Space is a little too small and cramped but i hope they do well and get a bigger space. This place is Vegan and Vegetarian friendly they had gluten free options aswell. Good place for a date if you want to impress her/him with good food. They have three course Menu you get to choose from 4-5 options in each course. You get an option to order more if you like. Me and my husband like to share everything we order so we get to experience more. They had very complicated names it took a while to understand and study the menu. With some help from the server we placed our order. With every course the food got better. Surprisingly it was filling too (i dint expect it).

Heard great things about this place and as I'm not vegetarian or vegan, I never thought about coming here. I wanted to keep an open mind and as it was dine out, we tried the special menu and I have to say, I was very impressed with the options they provided. We decided to share all the dishes as that was their recommendation. We started off with mushroom and summer peppers, followed by rutabaga and celeriac. We finished with the kiwi and mirepoix for dessert. I have to say all the dishes were very flavorful and well presented. As I'm not use to eating vegetarian/vegan food, I found the texture and taste intriguing but in a good way. It's a smaller restaurant so I do recommend calling in to book a table in advance. Parking in the area can be hard to find so you might need to find side street parking. Overall I would come here again to give the regular menu a try and come with an empty stomach as it was very filling considering there was no meat involved!

This place is untouchable. I was demolished by deliciousness. The Melatonin cocktail is divine!

Luke L'sk

Very delicate vegan meals ! I loved the presentation and the food. The only reason I wouldn't give 5 star is that the portions are a little too small for its premium price. Otherwise, it's an amazing place for both vegans and non vegans to dine at !

Julian Anton

Street parking can be a chore. Small place, they pack them in. Chairs uncomfortable as hell. Friday night, 45 minute wait but another couple gave us their spot so no wait. Small but functional wine list. All dishes presented well, but some not real creative. Staff awesome. Service attentive. Staff helpful in explaining dishes. Bar tender knowledgeable and friendly. A nice 2 1/2 hour dining experience. Young crowd.

Prakhar Chatrath

Disappointing experience!! Good food but not worth waiting for!! Had to wait two and half hours and by the time we were seated what we wanted in main course was finished.... So we chose whatever was available and best part was desert... It was over when time came to order it.. So, not going there again!

Bosney Rosne

Always love going here. Menu is so different and tasty each time. Always so satisfied after being here. Staff super friendly also. Recommend without question

Deborah Ezzy

Great food, great service, everytime, always. A place to go when you want to say i love you to yourself( just bring someone with you ,keep it from being too weird)

Cameron Watt

Quality of the food was good but not to my taste. I'm not a vegan so maybe this just isn't my jam. That said, it felt like the recipes do more to complicate, rather than highlight the natural flavours. I respect the skill that went into these dishes but I will not be returning.

Andy Smith

Food was amazing here, totally worth the price! Wait can be long so plan for it or come early or late. Staff was great!

Daniel Morales

Was very good I'm glad I came here, food was great. Only reason not for 5 stars, is the service from the bar tender was not friendly at all. Maybe she was having a bad day? Would it stop me from going back? Not at all, I would give it another shot. Also the bathroom was very cool, it had its own music playing. It was a nice touch. Random but I noticed ????

Karen Burton

Really good food with all vegetarian options and consideration for vegan food as well. Reach their before they open to get seated faster.

Guy Hajaj

This is my favorite vegetarian restaurant with vegan options in vancouver. The culinary team is creative and innovative. They use locally grown/harvested produce when possible. We do however prefer their dinner menus over their brunch. We’ve had a number of brunch fails but their dinner items are amazing and we highly recommend it. Their vegan dinners are amazing though. Periodically throughout the year for holidays they have special fixed menus rather than their a la carte options. They generally do them for thanksgiving, Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day. I highly recommend these. They are so amazing. Reservations are recommended for this. They don’t do regular reservations unless you are a party of 6 or more but on special events they do.

Saurabh Patel

Fantastic food! I usually order The Harvest and have never had the same meal (each was delicious though). Great wine pairing and excellent service! You have to be prepared to pay quite a bit for a meal, but in my eyes it is worth every penny. Wouldn't come here every Friday but hits the spot for a special occasion

Jas Bhachu

Truly amazing loved the informative service and otherworldly delicious food. Don't miss this one!!!

Mihaela Muntean

Brunching in a group of 5 isn’t the most convenient when it comes to being seated, especially not at a first-come first-served restaurant like this one, but luckily on a Saturday morning at 11am, our wait time was only about 20 minutes. We’d recommend arriving when the doors open (10am) if you’re looking to skip the line! ⠀ ⠀ This vegetable-forward restaurant & bar plates every single one of their dishes so beautifully; we almost didn’t know where to start. Pictured is there mushroom + waffle which was both sweet and savoury with rich gravy — exactly how we like it!

Nolan Dey

I'm torn on how to feel just because I did leave feeling hungry after my meal and would have loved to have had a bit more (and would happily pay more for a larger portion). I ordered a pasta dish called Burdock and the flavour was amazing and they were extremely accommodating to the fact that I am celiac and also vegan. That said, the portions were medium to small and as others have stated on here, when we left, we grabbed more food on the way home. We shared an appetizer, a had a main each, and shared a desert. If you love foodie style food that is good quality and are okay with smaller portions this place is for you but if you want vegan comfort food with larger portions this might not be the place you are looking for.

Exceptional and creative preparation at reasonable prices.

Best restaurant in Vancouver. Food is incredible and service is amazing. Staff are very knowledgeable too about local foods and the menu.

Riley Smith

Absolutely wonderful flavor in this vegetarian restaurant. The mixed drinks are good - the Shore Leave (rum based) is fantastic.

Adamina Carden

Always a five star experience here! For sure, my favourite restaurant in the city. Amazing creative plant based food, fantastic wines and cocktails and always very amazing service, every dish and drink and special touch explained! It’s our go to place to dine when friends or family come to visit! Also we often make it to the arbour just down the street- the acorns little sister!! Which is also five stars !

Hobson Lin

We had brunch here, and OMG it was so delicious! I had the Panzanella and it was so fresh, well spiced and crunchy salad! No need or longing for meat what-so-ever, this place knows how to make really good vegetarian food. Will definitely come here again.

Bryce Taylor-Vaisey

World class vegan fare that can compete with any restaurant anywhere... and Acorn shows an exciting new possibility for plant based eating!

Nick

You can not make a reservation unless you have a group of six or more, or it is first come first serve. Since there was only two of us we had about a 70min wait to get into the restaurant which was OK there are lots of shops to look at in the area. Once we got in we were seated by the door, which when opened got a brisk cool gusts right in to my side every few minutes. For drinks we ordered off the non-alcoholic drinks the first was called, little bitter which was really nice the second was evening orchard according to my partner was Allright very sweet $5 a peace . We shared an app called the beet plate which was nice, it consisted of taro chips and a really nice beet dip and was nice to share. For our mains I had the dish called cabbage which I loved consisted of grilled cabbage on a bed of stewed lentils. My partners dish was called halloumi which was deep fried and very heavy we were not a fan it did not sit well in her stumick. For dessert we shared there vegan cheesecake I think for a vegan desert it was good. Though I do not think I would order it a gain. Over all we see great potential if we had better seating next time. I was saying it is busy for good reason. Great friendly staff though it's so loud that it's hard to have a conversation.

Lexi Patton

Went out for dine out one Saturday. Food was amazing. Service was ok. The service was great at the beginning, answering all our questions. But when we had to pay it got weird. There were 6 of us. When we asked for the bill, our server brought the debit machine and gave it to my cousin and she paid. She then walked away to assume do something else. So I pressed the ok button and gave the customer copy to my cousin, and left the store copy on the table next to the machine. We waited a very long time, and the server never came back. So I flagged the bartender and he came over and I told him our server seemed to have just left after giving the machine to my cousin and the rest of us had to pay. So the rest of us paid, and we sat for a few minutes finishing our conversation and grabbing our jackets and purses. The bartender came back and insinuated we didnt pay the whole bill... So since I didnt give him the FIRST copy from the first guest who paid, he just thought that one bill wasn't paid. It's not my fault that the first server up and left while we paid and they didnt keep track of their receipts. I still would go back, since the food was delicious. This was my first time here and the service at the end just didn't seem to finish this nice evening off.

Kyle Vance

Totally disappointed. Very overpriced. Such minuscule portions which I found unbelievable and frankly ridiculous. People are better off going to East is East or Meet on Main for vegetarian food ,all on Main St.

Vivy John Cheng

My friends and I had an amazing tasting menu experience at The Acorn. We went with a completely plant-based menu with wine pairings and everything was fantastic. The staff were incredibly knowledgable about the food and drinks. There were at least 10 dishes in total, from bites to apps to mains to desserts. Every dish was plated beautifully and there were surprising flavours and textures throughout. The wines and other drinks that we tried were all unique. My only critique is that the dishes were served in a sharing format. It would've been easier if everyone received their own composed dish. On another note, I'm very happy with the new reservation system. I'm excited to return to The Acorn in a few months for new tasting menu surprises.

Dell B

Tasty food all around, portion sizes are too small for the mains though. Quite loud atmosphere, nice staff.

Kati Rodzon

Fantastic! 5 stars to Tiago, with excellent service. The food was incredible, beautiful presentation of the dishes, no rush with timing or the bill (I don’t like when the server just wants you to eat, pay and leave), light music, everything was perfect.

Arman Keyvanskhou

Friendly staff and the best brunch in town, with cheap side orders and real maple syrup !

Paolo Meregalli

We did the chefs tasting menu and it was good all the way through, and surprisingly decent portions as well as we normally are still hungry at the end of tasting menus. Only nitpick was the matsutake main course soup, it was very good but since matsutakes are slightly out of season now the aroma and texture were not really there if they are using frozen. Still would go back anytime.

linda mai

The Acorn was a pleasant surprise for me. I'm not someone who cares enough about "popular Vancouver restaurants" to wait inline for food- ever. But we had been given gift cards and decided to try going. Multiple times it was a bust with a 40min wait time and no reservations. Finally though, we were in the area in the morning and decided to try it for brunch. This is where everything went well. For brunch, there were no lineups, and the entrees were all pricer then normal, but nothing compared to the dinner menu. We ended up ordering a lot. Two entrees, kombucha, freshly juiced elixir, mimosa, and a dessert entree to share. The food was exceptional! Everything we had was prepared vegan. The flavours just jumped off the plate. There wasn't a single thing put, or placed that hadn't been well thought through. The portions were also sizable enough to make that last dessert entree a stretch. We had the smore for dessert and it was decent. Not as great as either of out first entrees but still good. Overall, like I said it was a pleasant surprise for brunch to have gone so well, with great flavours, and overall not as expensive as I would have expected for the quality of food.

Jessica Allen

Literally? I guess you have great food and I would have loved to have tried it, but I looked at your seating and its is absurd. No one with any physical accommodation could go there. I guess that is how pretentious things have become in Vancouver. Jeesh.

Teague Urquhart

You are on a time limit while eating. Ridiculous. 4 people, 1 appy, 4 entrees, 6 drinks. 1 hour and 43 minutes after arriving, done the food but not the drinks (due to the surprisingly slow kitchen), having paid and tipped well, hostess shows up at the table. We have a lineup you see. There are people waiting you see. Food was tasty but not amazing, beer and wine pairings from the middle shelf at the BCLC, prices high for what you got but hey that's Vancouver. Charging 4 people $200 to eat and THEN informing them that they are expected to vacate ASAP violates the most basic of even coarse North American restaurant etiquette. And sucks the pleasure out of the after-meal conversation, leaving us feeling embarrassed and watched. Make no mistake, if you choose to feed at this trough you are expected to order continuously even after you're full or GTFO.

Miteshree Sheth

Although I'm not vegetarian or vegan this place always has one dish on the menu I really love. A must try!

JandK Fischer

Amazing. Time to turn vegetarian. Habs down best vegetarian restaurant in Vancouver. Amazing mushroom dishes... Loved it. Thank you for the special food

Amazing vegetarian restaurant. The look and feel of the restaurant is beautiful. The food is extraordinary. The service was fantastic and the prices were reasonable. Overall a great place for vegetarians, vegans and omnivores alike.

Adam Ringstad

Amazing head chef. He makes vegetables sparkle in your mouth. Great plant based dishes with rich comfort food taste. (Ex:fried Halloumi) Great cocktails and wine list. Killer service.

Grace Partridge

Very nice atmosphere, but a bit crowded and noisy. Always lineup. They don't take reservation. The dishes in this vegetarian restaurant are unique and tasty. Service very good. Worth trying.

Timothy T

May be my expectation was too high or I ordered wrong dishes. The dishes looks pretty but definitely do not worth a 5-star rating for my picky taste bud. Also, for the price I expect the dish would be double its size.

Shannon McDonald

Went for dinner here tonight for our last dinner in Vancouver on our honeymoon. We were absolutely blown away with the food and the service. We had the hop shoot app, cabbage and potato vegan entrees, and the hazelnut and brownie desserts. Not a single moment of disappointment was had for either of us. There aren't enough words for how much we enjoyed our experience here. The best dinner we've eaten, no exaggeration.

Hayley Cloona

If I had to sum up The Acorn, it’d be classy vegetarian food art ???? ! The Acorn is a small cozy vegetarian restaurant (mainly ????) that understands how people eat with their eyes first! They have a 3 course meal for $50, and every dish was a pleasant surprise. I love how well they play with flavours, textures and sauces ???? . My first course was the shiitake, which I really enjoyed - great blend of Asian flavours, yet the mushroom flavour stood out well. My second course was the burdock and it was okay, I enjoyed the mashed potato’s the most because I wasn’t used to the root/earthy taste of burdock, but still enjoyable. For dessert I got the raspberry, which was amazing. The sorbet was so refreshing and the crunch from the shortcake had me drooling. It wasn’t too sweet and the textures were on point! My only wish was that they allowed you to order a-la-cart, rather than automatic 3 course meal. The Acorn serves a very niche market and does a great job at it . This is not a place I’d go to regularly, but I’d definitely come for a date night or special occasion! If you don’t mind paying a premium for a true vegetarian dining experience and get joy from all the different flavours, textures and ingredients used into one dish, you must come here! ????

Kristina Obodovskiy

Absolutely incredible food and atmosphere. Our new favorite restaurant in Vancouver!

Lucas Belgrove

My experiences here have been poor. Most recently the hostess didn't acknowledge me and my group for several minutes and acted as if we weren't standing there. She appeared to just be milling about, not doing anything in particular. Then she doesn't even smile or say hello even she did finally 'see' us. She seemed like it was a hassle to have to find us a seat. They also don't take reservations so the wait is outrageous for lame overpriced food. The chef tries to aim for experimental/arty food and lands on either tasteless dishes or combinations that are quite gross. I would NOT recommend the Acorn.

JoviLynn Nojeda

These guys get it. Great work. Best veg/vegan restaurant in BC.

Thomas Moore

It's been a couple years since I was here - I've had some time to think about my (mostly negative) experience. I conclude that hipster vegans should never be in charge of running a restaurant. Our one hour wait time turned into two and a half hours and the food was not worth our time. We went next door to Kung Fu noodle for a supplimentary meal.

Katrina Archibald

I finally had a chance to try the Acorn and was not disappointed. there so much hype about this place and it was honestly one of the tastiest meals I've ever had. I expected it to be great but did not expect it to burst with as much flavour as it did. I adored the whole menu, ambiance and the service was wonderful. It was a great experience.

Tristan Schon

Flavourful seasonal vegan food: the harvest and carrot main dish was perfection. The beet pate starter was perfectly paired with taro chips. Kudos to the chef! Only con is the cannoli dessert is a bit too sweet for someone who isn't a big sugar consumer.

Pat Borrelli

Very good seasonal options and regulars. I’m not vegetarian and enjoy the menu. Tip: get there as early as you can, the house is very small and it lines up very fast.

Fernando Secco

Had such a fantastic brunch here. Super creative dishes that are both a pleasure to look at and devour. Service was very friendly and attentive. Atmosphere was cozy. Can get a little busy for weekend brunch but worth any wait.

I had my best vegan birthday dinner there! The atmosphere was great and food is amazing. My friend who is vegetarian she loved it so much and we definitely come visit again and share with other friends. That dinner is the most fancy vegan food in my life for sure!

Ryan Murphy

Vegan fine dinning. :) Love it.

Mahir Kothary

Tasty food with a simple menu. Great atmosphere and the staff is super friendly. Not ideal for large groups but excellent choice if you want to take a date.

multiservices vancouver

Way over priced. Not sure what all the hype is about. Service and food don't match the price. I got some roast veggies (2 or 3 pieces) on plain quinoa for 20 bucks.

Angela H

Love this place. I have the okonomiyaki every time, and the cocktails are fab.

Relika McNulty

Attended for dine out and loved the food! Service and ambiance were also great. If you are looking for upscale vegan food this is it!

This place deserves a star. The food tasted amazing, the presentation was lovely and each course complimented the next. The creativity of each dish left our whole table in wonder. We will definitely be recommending the acorn and coming back soon!

Pricey but yummy. The wait staff are super nice and the food us unlike anything you've ever had, usually for the better. The bathroom plays bird sounds and is filled with mirrors. It's an experience for sure.

What a creative and delicious menu. We were unsure of what to expect for our first visit as the menu was initially confusing. We ordered a random assortment of food and were not disappointed by a single dish. Each dish was complex and full of complimentary flavours. By the end of the meal we couldn't even choose a favourite. Each dish was beautiful presented, the perfect temperature and texture. Fresh and vibrant. The staff were pleasant and explained dishes as they arrived. A unique experience and one we will definitely do again. 5/5, despite being vegetarian this place is amazing and you won't leave dissatisfied. Recommended dishes: halloumi, larch, sourdough, cauliflower and harvest!

Sasha M

Very tasty and we had a great service. We took the chef menu and all the plats were amazing. It was great to share.

Eva Lin

It is no mistake that this place was voted as the best vegan restaurant in the world and usually the best vegetarian in town. The team here does delicious, fun and imaginative things with local produce.

Coreen Boucher

I had great expectations and went for brunch on a special day. For my surprise there wasn't many vegan options, most of the menu had eggs or cheese (no vegan substitutions). My meal was tasty, but very, very grease. The plate looked good, but was very small. Me and my partner left the restaurant looking for a place to eat more. I'm still curious to go at night to try their dinner menu, but this time with no expectations.

Gabriel Dantas

Amazing!! Art on the plate and happiness for the pallet!!! Imagination of perfect combination... Enjoyable gourmet food! Thank you!

Matt Keoshkerian

I have been vegan for 7 years and my husband eats meat, we absolutely loved the food and service at The Acorn Restaurant!

Leo Lawson

great for fine dining but my other half doesn't like the price as much ;)

Trevor Travis

Food is awesome. Very elevated vegetarian food that has both a decent quantity and extremely well done flavors. Worth it for the 1 hr wait during rush hours. They get your number down and text you to come back later with on site reservation so that wasn't too bad. Bars nearby for drinks while waiting. Price is slightly $$ though, over 100 dollars after tipping for 3 course dinner for two. Definitely coming back for the next big thing.

Kyle Empringham

Beautifully presented food with no taste...could not eat ...very expensive ... don't wadte your time and your money

Kevin Criscaut

Best vegetarian food I've ever had, hands down. The service was warm and friendly and the atmosphere was intimate and had a great mood to it. A touch loud inside, but I think that was mostly due to everyone having a great time here.

Nic

the fried egg was presented great and tasted fantastic; however, i find the plate quite small. only lost a star because the service was slow even though they werent that busy. friendly waiters

Peter Lovei

Brought some out of town guests here, though I had never been myself. Went around 1pm on a Saturday, so it was starting to quiet down. Staff were friendly and effective. Dishes were delicious. Came out looking a bit small, but they were filling and just right. All three dishes were winners. Would go back!

Jonny Braithwaite

The staff was amazing. Great good and a creative menu! Will definitely go back when I'm looking for a nice night out

Nichole Chaput

We definitely enjoyed our Friday night dinner here. Arriving just before it opens at 5:30pm is advisable if you want to ensure a seat. The appetizers (Legume, Mushroom, and Cucumber) looked amazing and tasted excellent. The drinks are good and they offer a nice variety. The mains were enjoyable although I think I would have preferred the Halloumi which was ordered by two others I was with rather than the Cauliflower I had ordered. I felt a bit disappointed with dessert, the Blueberry tart was not to my personal liking, the crust was hard and the savory taste was not for me, but perhaps others would enjoy. The Angel Food Cake was a better dessert in my opinion. Overall, it's a great cozy restaurant with nice staff and excellent food, even for non vegetarians like myself.

For years I have told people The Acorn is my favourite vegan restaurant - which has even been called "Best Vegan in the World" by a media outlet - despite the fact that it's not fully vegan, and I am wondering why. I know that only a few of their dishes are vegan, but they're SO close! Eliminating animal products for good would turn this into a five-star review and I'm sure many plant-based eaters would support them even more. They've already got the best ingredients, flavour, technique, and experience in town. Go 100% plant-based and push it over the edge to rightfully earn that "Best Vegan" title.

Adam Huggins

Had the artichoke on the waffle with maple syrup. Delicious but waaaay more sweet than I was expecting it to be compared to other sweet and salty waffle dishes I've had. Still enjoyed both the food and the helpful staff!

Mandy W

Really great food, nice wines, affordable. Good times. I wish there will be a restaurant like that in Montreal!

Luis Castro

Super good! We ordered every vegan option off the a la carte menu

Anson Li

Had the chef's menu with a friend and got to share two appies, two mains and two desserts. With the exception of one dessert which just wasn't to our personal tastes, everything was sensational. The restaurant earns it's 5 stars on food alone. The chairs were slightly uncomfortable as they sank down so you felt like you had to lean quite far forward to speak with your companions, and the space as a whole was fairly cramped. We arrived at 6pm and there was no wait but it very quickly filled beyond capacity. Going to the restroom is an interesting experience. Not unpleasant, necessarily, but it feels a bit like stepping into Wonderland with an array of oblong mirrors, bird sounds and a very short toilet. But in all, the ambience was nice, the service was very good, and food, once again, was fantastic.

Cynthia Owen

The waitress was pushy about ordering drinks. Food was at best ok. Will never return.

Miss S

food is 5 stars but servers and hosts act pretentious and give poor insincere service given the quality of food the chefs make and the atmosphere of the restaurant.

Finally got to go here. Boyfriend who is vegetarian / ex vegan described it as 'tiny fireworks' in his mouth. They were also so good in handling my partners allergies, in a respectful and courteous way that we got to totally relax and enjoy our meal. We had the set menu at new years, needless to say we will be back soon! Thank you so much!

Tammy Brimner

After planning to visit The Acorn a multiple weekends, we finally were there last weekend. Had a really good experience. This restaurant is small in area but has its own character. Brunch Menu was being served during the weekend. We ordered the house special - Beggars Baguette. It was house made Naan with Falafel. It was good. We also ordered Artichoke - Southern Fried Artichokes on Waffle with Bourbon Maple Syrup and Pickled Shallots. This dish was probably the best I had in a longtime. The Fried Poached Egg was perfect. The Ambience of the restaurant was contemporary and elegant. They had fresh flowers too on the table. I tried to capture all the above in my pictures. The Acorn is a sister restaurant of The Arbor Restaurant, which is located in the same block. The Acorn is highly recommended. I strongly believe this restaurant is on the way to achieve a Michelin Star too. Ambience: 9 Food: 10 Service: 9 Experience: 9 Price: $$

This is one of the best places for unique, upscale, locally sourced vegetarian dishes in Vancouver. The attention to plating is unbelievable. The flavour combinations are phenomenal. You will leave beyond satisfied! Get there close to …

the menu! the location! the service! everything in this restaurant its pretty amazing and we would recommend it to everyone. way to go chef!

My friend and I were looking forward to trying this restaurant billed as "one of the best vegetarian restaurants in the world." Maybe it was an off night but after waiting in line, we were called up to the door. Do you have a reservation? I said I didn't think you could make a reservation when I looked online. Yes, you can for the tasting menu. The lady at the door said, go back outside, we are taking people with reservations first. Clearly, those groups are deemed more important than those dining a la carte. We were seated and told that we could stay until 7:20 and we were fine with that. A waiter brought menus and just dropped them off on our table and then brought water. A waitress came and said, "ready to order?" We had questions as it is a unique menu and even more unique and varied wine list. We ordered a bottle of wine and she said that they charge a $15 corkage fee. We thought that was unusual but just wanted our wine so agreed. She hurriedly answered our questions about the dishes and we ordered. One dish came out first then all the other dishes were brought out all at once. The food was okay but not blow you away as we had expected. The halloumi had a very thick batter and was deep fried. Only once did she come back to top up our glasses. At 7:15, she came and slapped down our bill on the table. I asked, "I'm just curious why you charge a corkage fee, does that mean we could bring our own?" Her reply: "I told you about that already." Apparently, it's because they are serving premium wines that are less than liquor store prices and so they charge a fee ...? Why not just add that to the cost of the wine??? Still didn't get an answer about BYOB since a corkage fee is charged. All in all, our total bill came to $122 and we left still hungry. We won't return. We ended up having amazing desserts and a glass of merlot at The French Table, an authentic French bistro. The owner Hervé is a real character. Also try Old Bird across the street which serves "Chinese food with attitude", has friendly service and a fun, lively atmosphere.

I've been meaning to dine here for a while and when I got the opportunity, I was really excited. This is vegetarian/vegan food done right, it's inventive, delicious, deep with flavour. The drink menu has some unusual choices and both the Anana (similar to pisco sour) and Oscuro Corazon were complex and I could have had many! The appetizers were beautifully plated and made you forget you were in a vegetarian restaurant. The Squash.. yum! For the mains: Hens of the Woods serves on al dente pappardelle was to die for. The Halloumi while really good, you can only have so much deep fried cheese! The chocolate dessert, we split and was the perfect ending for such a great restaurant. It can get really busy, so do show early as they don't take reservations. But the staff is very friendly and did their best to get us in quickly.

Terry Smith

Fantastic joint, perfect for a nice date with your veg homey. Must have the fish and chips style cheese, it is ridiculously good.

Velvet Presley

Food taste delicious... little smaller portion size but good for dinner. Desert was best among anything else...

Amelia Cole

So romantic and the food is very special. Maybe sits 75 people, plus a small bar, so you get a cozy, special feeling being there. Picked it as the place to propose along with the Chef's Special and a bottle of champagne. Unforgettable night.

Miranda Lindsay

Wow!! What a fantastic place. My partner and I went for brunch on a Saturday. It was certainly busy, but we were seated within 15 minutes of arrival. They have an excellent texting system to alert when your table is ready! The food itself was amazing--hearty, but good for you and flavourful. Presentation and service were very excellent as well. They gave us a complimentary starter of sourdough bread with a squash spread which was so excellent to have with our coffee while they prepped the food. You could tell the servers were busy, but they were still attentive and very kind! Overall, very impressed, and can't wait to try their dinner menu sometime!!

Marco Hopf

Definitely very different in terms of flavours and textures. A place you have to try! Perfect for a date. Very cool ambient, kind of peaceful.

Stephanie Bamforth

I am not a pure vegetarian but this place blew away my expectations. I was overwhelmed by the complex flavors and exceptional presentation. One of the better meals I've had in a while. Great atmosphere, great bartender too.

Maggie L

Amazing experience. I'm an avid meat lover and not a massive vegan fan but the scope of flavors is amazing and the staff were super friendly

Michael Wang

Great vegetarian food. Did the Chef tasting menu.

Alyssa Steinhubl

Probably the best meal I have ever had in my life. The service was fantastic and the food was mindblowing. As a vegan, I was so excited to find a fine dining restaurant where I had so many options! My boyfriend who eats meat also said that this was one of the best meals of his life. I highly recommend this wonderful place for all people.

Matt Cooke

The food is really good but portion sizes are too small. Also, this is a bit pricey place to dine in.

Ryan Connolly

This place has really tasty, unique dishes. Really pleasant atmosphere, but can be a bit noisy if crowded.

Jeanings Ng

Evening meals are delicious, but their brunch is my favourite. Relaxed atmosphere, great food, great service. It's a little pricier than the average place but worth every penny in my opinion.

Shannon Brown-John

Simply superb at every level. A must visit for vegans! It ranks in the top 3 fine dining vegan experiences I’ve had globally.

Jacqueline Joy

Really creative, unusual vegetarian menu – we had the chef's selection which meant we got to sample most things on the menu between four people. Every single dish impressed, with the yu choy in browned hazelnut butter main a particular stand-out. House cocktails are recommended. Stylish interior and a relaxed vibe despite being pretty fancy.

Josh Shaeffer

The spring pea pasta was incredibly salty - as in the lid falling off the salt shaker salty. I think it must have been a mistake. The "Sea" appetizer was bizarre. Interesting concept using sea greens for the dip, but it didn't work in practice. It was slimy and bland and yet had a disturbing aftertaste. Food should not be "challenging". The Halloumi was good (it's hard to go wrong with cheese). There were some subtle flavors and the beer batter was quite satisfying. I'm glad to see places like this with all vegetarian menu, but there are others in town that I'd sooner go to than come back here.

Jacob Pope

The eating experience here is unreal. The complexity of the flavours and the presentation is like nothing else. I was amazing by the charred flavour of the radicchio and the mushroom morels were unbelievable. Highly recommend!

Ian Wong

Amazing food. I was very impressed by the creativity behind the menu. There were so many plants in every dish, and the brownie at the end was especially great. Loved the use of candied lichen and peach purée. I would suggest that the restaurant change the ramekin for the Carrot appetizer because it was a little difficult to get out. 4 starts because although extremely tastey, the vegan options did not keep me full very long. Definitely recommend!!

hungzhi wang

Delicious, creative vegetarian food and excellent service. My wife and I really enjoyed our night here - just wish the space was a little more open. Would definitely recommend it!

Alex Benjamin

Incredible food. Period. Very creative. Loved the skillet for breakfast. Service was great. Really good coffee.

Dani Cattani

Super yummy and quaint. I do feel it's a wee bit overpriced but that's to be expected in vancouver. Got the pasta, the fried haloumi and the mushroom appetizer. Sat on the patio but I feel it would have been nicer inside.

Julie Wong

Had brunch here a few times now and it’s always tasty and interesting. Several good vegan options.

Joe Churchill

Terrible service and small portions. Didn’t enjoy how they make you order dessert on a set menu with Terrible dessert options. Cauliflower was great.

Mohammed AlSamak

Food is delicious but the wait is too long. Better to go for 2 only then you get seated faster. There were three of us. The waitress told us 30 to 45 minutes wait but it ended up more than an hour wait.

Connor Hawkins

Amazing food. The diversity and complexity of each dish was super impressive. Possibly the best veggie restaurant I've been to.

sophia andmike

I ate some stuff, I didn't really know what it was but it was pretty okay. I'm not a vegetarian but it was pretty good.

Inge Wieser

It was my birthday and my boyfriend and I decided to try Heirloom.. 45 minutes AFTER we ordered our food we were told that they only had 1 burger patty and hadn't even started making the food. We decided to go to the Acorn as we had gone there a few years ago for my birthday. we got in quickly and the hostess apologized about the wait (about 2 or 3 min!) I made a joke about how it was nothing compared to the wait at Heirloom we ordered our food super quickly as we were pretty hungry. before our mains came out we were brought over an appetizer dish free of charge because they thought we would be really hungry after our wait at Heirloom. the service was incredible and the food was amazing as was the drink that I had. The Acorn definitely saved my birthday!

Lula Czupajlo

I had a great experience at the Acorn. The food was amazing and the staff was friendly and the service was very good. The meal was one of the best tasting vegan meals I have had in a restaurant. Three flavours were amazing. A few notes: this is a vegetarian restaurant, but the meals can be made vegan. It is more upscale and therefore pricey. The venue is great, but is small, so call to reserve.

Ken Burke

Be warned this place is tiny and very popular, be prepared for a wait (we waited 40 mins for a table on a Tuesday night). However! The wait is definitely worth it. We had a 3 course meal and several cocktails. Our halloumi main dishes were absolutely outstanding. The vegan eggnog cocktail (seasonal) was a welcome comfort on a cold and rainy evening. The desserts were a little bit of a disappointment given the caliber of the rest of the meal, but still enjoyable overall.

Stuart Farley

This is my favourite upscale vegetarian restaurant in the city right now. There can be a long wait and they don't take reservations but they're good about taking numbers if you want to wander off for a bit while you wait. If it's packed we'll normally stop off at their sister restaurant The Arbor a few doors down for a drink while we wait. Food and service at The Acorn is always great and they have a great bar program as well!

Glenn Hartley

This place is a definite must! One of the best meals of my life. The cavatelli was perfection.

Carol Netto

This is one of the best places for unique, upscale, locally sourced vegetarian dishes in Vancouver. The attention to plating is unbelievable. The flavour combinations are phenomenal. You will leave beyond satisfied! Get there close to opening to ensure you get a seat. Lineups are the norm here, weekdays and weekends. Thanks to Alex as well as the other servers who just know how to treat the clients really well.

Ellen Smith

Great service. Very aware of dietary restrictions and allergies. Love the cocktails. I am not a vegetarian and this is one of my favorite restaurants.

Shelley Wasney

The food here is amazing even for a meat lover! The dishes were bursting with flavor. We waited just a little over an hour to be seated (well worth the wait) but they allow you to give your name and number and text you when they are ready for you (must arrived within 10mins of getting the text). We were also surprised at how well priced the dishes were. Fine dining without the cost! I highly recommend this place even if you are a meat eater. You will not be disappointed!

Sarah Blackmore

Absolutely phenomenal meal. I had the Soup of the day which we dubbed Pickle Gravy Soup and the Harvet selection of the day which has so many ingredients, I can't begin to name them all. Lobster mushrooms were involved and so much more. So, so, good. The decor is eclectic but not overstated. The service was excellent. I wish I had room for dessert, but I was so full from the delicious food! The cocktails are unique and well thought out. The Oma-Sake tastes like summer. Lovely!

David Metcalfe

Acorn has a really interesting concept, given, that my translation is somewhat correct. It's supposed to invoke an emotional nostalgia. It didn't. While they do try to push boundaries and have very interesting dishes, a few of which were just simply inedible. The only good standout dishes were deep fried and extremely salty. Hilarious! Thankfully, these one night only specials are only one night. That risotto dish with fiddle heads for example, although it looked good but was flat and terrible. The textures were unappetizing and it tasted of nothing. My guess is that they don't actually try the food they make. At some point in our "dining experience" I was really tempted to ask the simpleton who made that actually knew how to cook! but my significant other convinced me otherwise. Mixing chemicals from a children' chemistry set doesn't make you a mad scientist. It just simply makes you an idiot. Kinda makes you wonder what's wrong with people's taste buds to give this place such high ratings! Service needs work, you might want to train your staff to be a little more courteous. It's such a shame, being on the pricey side, within the past year acorn has gone downhill. This place just isn't what it used to be. Meet on main , Chickpea and Heirloom are better choices.

Karina Pelayo

Acorn is one of our favourite brunch places in Vancouver. There can be a bit of a wait, but the food is worth it!

I see others have said the same, "I am not a vegetarian or vegan". I am one of those. However, I do try to eat healthy. Case in point originally wanted fish and chips, but decided on Acorn, because of patio seating with Covid and all and its positive reputation. The food is very good, but after only have small plates was craving for something a bit more substantial so ordered "Asparagus". What stood out to me was the outstanding customer service. All the staff were very attentive and very pleasant. Acorn did not disappoint. All in all a nice evening Spring patio dinner.

Amy F

Amazing restaurant! Our waitress made my birthday so special. The food was absolutely incredible. Couldn't recommend any more!

Janet Scutt

Great atmosphere. Dishes were a little monochrome. More variety of flavours needed

Thomas Panio

A great place to relax with family and friends. I really like it.

Warren H. Wong

Awesome awesome tasting menu. My boyfriend is a meat eater and we were all pleasantly surprised of how good all the dishes were. They were each very unique and innovative in their own way. We will definitely be returning in the future!!

Robert Hever

Amazingly thoughtful dishes and great atmosphere. Would recommend and will go again!

I am replacing my last review from two stars to three. The waitress we had was fantastic, very attentive and friendly. She made our dining experience, and that is why I've given this establishment another star. The non-alcoholic drinks were super good, would recommend the “designated driver.” The food itself was pretty meh. Most dishes were aesthetically pleasing but seemed to be quite onion or vinegar forward, and unfortunately, lacked in any real balancing of flavours; very one dimensional. I expected more unique flavours and textures, but they were all primarily pretty “safe,” even though the descriptions sounded good. Out of the five dishes we ordered, two were only really worth getting again. I definitely do not recommend The “Allium” because it's barely edible, just tasted bad with the cracker being so heavy and salty, overpowering any other flavours. I couldn't get myself to finish it, and I seldom waste food. As well I would not recommend the gluten-free dessert; it's not good, just sad and disappointing with a real lack of apparent effort.. I came for an experience and had one. Will wait another three years and see if anything changes with the menu. Until then, I won't be back any sooner.

Terry Brown

Absolutely fantastic food, great every time. Knocked one star for being expensive but it is expected being top vegetarian/vegan restaurant in Vancouver.

Kim Browning

Great ambience! One out of two entrees was spectacular. Halloumi cheese had something to do with it. The other entree was alright. One out of the two desserts we ordered was mind blowing. The other one not so much. Expensive but worth it.

Martin R

The food was amazing. But you play the game where one person will stumble upon the "big dish" and everyone else stares in envy at their portion which is twice as big as yours.

Peter Hess

Delicious. Nice menu. Decent service (it was dine out so a little delayed) but overall good! Cute space.

Max

Really good food on the vega/n/tarian side of the spectrum. The cocktails are a bit hit and miss, the good ones are great and the others fall short. No resos, so be prepared to wait.

Fang Ping Yeh

Wow! This place deserves a Michelin Star. From the service to the food and ambiance, it was a meal that I will always remember. The quality of ingredients were exceptional, the flavour profile was bang on, and serving sizes were perfect. Just the right amount. You must try the Shitake and Allium dishes! We also did it with the wine pairing which paired perfectly up until the last bite. Spoke to the chef who even came out to say hello as we are Visitors from Toronto. Restaurant followed all covid regulations and we were spaced out good. Thanks again!

Constanze Chen

Honestly one of the best meals I have ever had, and I'm quite the foodie. How they manage to make household dishes like lentils or cauliflower so flavorful and rich I have no idea. We had the harvest (assorted veggies from that same day) and it was incredible; the Halloumi was the winner, seriously one of the best dishes I had, ever. I licked the plate clean. And the dessert - a beet cake! - was underwhelming at first but we couldn't stop eating more and more of it. Creative and fresh. The cocktails were great as was my non alcoholic drink. All in all a perfect meal.

A Bailey

I came here with a colleague from out of town and a few others. I'm not vegan or vegetarian myself, so this was an introduction. I was very impressed and pleasantly surprised by what can be done with no meat or dairy. I will be back and so will our friend from Chicago! Thanks for a great meal!

Tim Lane

One of the best vegetarian restaurants I've been to, try the Halloumi! Atmosphere was also excellent.

Jeff Powell

The best place in Vancouver to go on a vegan or vegetarian date

chikichicky

Strongly believed over priced! The services and environments are super great! Food is.... great? Salty?...uhmmmm If you are welling to pay $22CAD for a dish of small salad this is the best restaurant for you!

ria j.d.

For vegan and vegetarian food, it’s exceptional. For everyone else, it’s probably not worth the trip. The dishes had no “star” to focus on, and were lacking in presentation, as well as a certain quality that would make this feel like a fulfilling meal. I was still hungry after three courses, and I’m not exactly a large person. I would recommend bringing your vegan tinder date here, but taking your significant other somewhere else

Anna Docherty

An interesting experience. Though not blown away, we all enjoyed the food, especially appetizers and the elderflower semifreddo. Was surpised to get a poached egg in the main dish; were only asked if non-vegan is ok re: dairy. I guess you'd have to further specify vegetarian no egg still. Reservation booth for group (6+) is hard to get.

Tak Takeda

The dishes we ordered were amazingly tasty. It was so packed, but definitely worth the wait. The dishes were so flavourful and unique. I will definitely want to come back here again in the future!

Ian Beeching

Delicious vegetarian and vegan options, a hidden gem as the exterior is not the most appealing, but interior is comfortable

Lawrence Hanlan

Hands down one of the best restaurants in the city. Surprising & delicious food combinations paired with an adventurous bar program! Great Service & well priced

Corbin Lowe

We had a lovely time, could not fault the service as the staff were friendly. The starters were nice, but there is room for improvement. The dumplings were ok and the broth delightful, the pate was served cold, and was closer to a thick compote in consistency and would have been better had the pot have been slightly warmed to allow the little puff of Smokey smoke that left the pot to enfuse. The mains were ok a little overpriced I had the corn potatoes which had tomatoes randomly scattered on the dish which I’m my opinion brought nothing to the dish, the pasta was home made but could have done with being a little thinner as a whole wheat flour was used which made it more aldente than I would like, but the flavours were well balanced. Where the meal fell apart was the ‘Poached Raw Pear??? To my mind it’s either one or the other. It was raw, in that is was not ripe, not even close. When returned for being not fit to eat, the chef sent the poor waitress to explain it was poached at a lower temperature and that the dish is a raw dish. Anyone with an ounce of knowledge knows that a ripe pear is soft, succulent and juicy. Not rock hard. To be fair the restaurant refunded the Pear dish. The financier however in stark contrast was just amazing. I would have rated this review higher if the chef had sucked up the feedback and not tried to BS their way out of a very poor dish.

Sherif Tarek

My greatest wish is that they would make the halloumi gluten-free...it's always a sad moment when I go in and still can't order it.

Bhavneet Toor

This has probably got to be one of my new favourite spots in the city. the acorn restaurant is a good place to be with family and fireends, lots of fun- love, love, love it!

Gail Cadwallader

This is a very creative restaurant together with exceptional ingredients. The menu feels very naturally west-coast. The service is pretty good. They have some interesting pates.

Sather Flynn

The best vegetarian I've had in Vancouver to date. The seasonality of the menu means dishes are different one month to the next.

Peter Craig

Interesting menu, lots of locally sourced and vegan options! The organization/efficiency of waitlist logistics made me cringe...they're definitely a popular spot and the host needs to be on their feet to make things run efficiently. The food made up for it and the bartender was really kind.

Timothy Boyle

I can't fully assess this restaurant as they were completely unaccommodating to my food allergies. I was informed that the meals are carefully planned out by the chef and substitutions are not allowed. Be warned that if you have sensitivities and allergies, it's a take it or leave it situation! The one menu item I was able to try was the Elderflower Panna Cotta. It was delicious, but only about the size of my thumb ($13). Based on the meals observed around me, the portion sizes of the mains and deserts were surprisingly small. I guess The Acorn is going for the gourmet feel, which to be fair is often lacking in the plant based world. If you have the money to spend on several courses and are looking for plant based food artfully presented, then this would be perfect. Skip it if you are looking for a hearty affordable meal or have dietary needs other than vegan/gluten free.

Voted the top brunch and vegetarian/vegan place in Vancouver and I can totally see why! Went here for both brunch and dinner before and absolutely loved the food and service. The staff is so thoughtful and mindful of people's dietary requirements and each dish is thoughtfully curated by their amazing chefs. Next time when I'm back in Vancouver I'll definitely be stopping by again. Note: I went at 5pm sharp on a weekday and we got seated- the place fills up fast though so make sure you're early!

Alexandra Montoya

3 of us went in for brunch, very excited to try out this resto for the first time. Very small place, with only one table that can seat more than 3 people. However the server refused to sit us at that table claiming that its “reserved for groups of 4 or more”. We were sat at a small table right next to said big table. As we squeezed in between another 2 top we could feel how that large table mocked us with its spacious seating. At that moment we decided its not worth the suffering of cramming in a small spot and left. The server muttered a weak “sorry” as we left. Will not be going back.

Came with a party of 7 with reservations for 8:30PM, and were seated right on schedule. Having a group reservation for a special occasion seems to be the best way to visit, and although the venue is cramped they did a great job accommodating our large group. Having a healthy appetite, I found the plates creative and full of flavour, though a touch too lite. From their winter menu, the Raw Parsnip had a nice bite, and the Burratta was pleasantly sweet (it could almost be on the dessert menu). The Dark Chocolate Cake with espresso ganache was balanced nicely with chantilly cream, and although it was small, was full of contrasting flavors. That all said, I pre-ate a full dinner at 5:30 before coming out, and still left feeling hungry. Perhaps the Beer Bettered Halloumi would have better satisfied the appetite... If you're used to a lighter fair, and looking for a culinary adventure, this one is worth a night out. Just don't expect to leave full if you're used to a protein rich diet.

Lisa Kelly

Moved into my top 3 in Vancouver. Service was excellent; food creative & delicious. Highly recommend.

Trisha Butkowski

Truly innovative vegetarian concepts, with truly lovely staff!

Sasha Kevac

Really tasty dishes. Everything we ordered was either superb or great. Service was good as well. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is strangely because the menu is so frustrating digest. It really ruins the experience not having any clue what you're ordering. The titles of dishes and their descriptions are not at all helpful and sometimes flat out misleading. For example, we ordered a dish called "Corn" which was actually mostly pasta (or at least it tastes an awful lot like pasta). It was delicious but it was just nothing like what we expected. The other dishes suffered the same fate. The wait staff are helpful in parsing the menu and making recommendations but they shouldn't need to. If you want to stay a bit clever and creative with the names -- fine, but then add some pictures. If you want to be mysterious and deliberately surprise customers -- fine, leave the pictures out, but then provide more helpful descriptions. I know it's a weird thing to pick on but it really ruined the experience for me.

Tennille Oppen

Great place for a different kind of vegetarian meal - staff are very pleasant and the chef has great options for all tastes

TOO MUCH HYPE!! First time trying this restaurant on Saturday night. Me and my wife are both vegetarian and have tried lot of vegetarian/ vegan restaurants in the past and therefore maybe we had higher expectation. This one didn’t feel worth the hype. The restaurant is known to be offering ambitious vegetarian/ vegan fare. But somehow, the food felt too ordinary. Unique presentation, nice ambiance. But that’s it. Hence the 3stars.

Great food, great service. 3 course vegan chef's menu was fabulous, for both my vegan friend and me, the dirty meat eater!

We've been 3-4 times over the years and the food (& wine pairing) is so top-notch that my partner and I are actively working on reducing our eating out budget elsewhere so that we can come back to The Acorn more often. Once or twice a year is not enough! The food is delicious, filling (how could 7 courses not be filling?), and the experience/intimate atmosphere always leads to a wonderful time.

Ellen Henderson

This is a great place to take someone on a date. It's a bit pricey when you order drinks, but they are totally worth it.

Arun Gill

Incredible food, service, atmosphere

Paddy O'Connor

Their food is really good and they clearly put a lot of thought, work, and effort into constructing their dishes. We've been to this restaurant multiple times with plenty of non vegetarian people and they have always been blown away with the food. Their cocktails are also quite nice but the food is the star. Service is impeccable and friendly.

jot singh

The very best vegetarian restaurant in the city, if not in all of Canada. I live in Ontario and have yet to find anywhere to match the Acorn in the GTA. Everything was wonderful, the service, the food, the drinks and the atmosphere. Thank you to all the staff for helping us enjoy a terrific evening. I would give 6 stars if possible.

Michelle

Excellent service and very delicious. Most dishes had mushrooms in them and they were so helpful with my menu choices. Highly recommended ???? ???? ???? ????

Ethan Cohen

Organic flavorful meals! The atmosphere is very peaceful too. I'd definitely recommend it!

Jen Woloski

Acorn has a special place in my heart. ❣️ I have been here multiple times, and every time, the food is gastronomical and visual treat! The Harvest is always different and always delightfully surpassing with a vast array of organically and locally sourced produce. Yesterday's Sorrell mushroom starter just blew me away with the taste and texture and the creamy (yet dairy free) dressing was so good I had to refrain from licking my plate! During Covid, the seating arrangement has changed, to include more space between tables, and they have brought in beautiful plants to create natural barriers. I far prefer this new seating arrangement, as before the tables were always so close together that you could always hear every word of the conversations at your neighbors tables, and their chairs would bump yours all the time. I do hope the new seating stays this way ???? As always, the servers are fantastic, well informed, colourful individuals who are clearly invested in the culture of this amazing, one in million restaurant.

Both my wife and I are vegetarians. So, We do know vegetables! These were some of the most expensive vegetables we've ever tried, which were probably grown on Mars. Especially the potatoes!! It is incredible, that undiscerning people can be fooled so easily ..."scientific names" or "gorgeously presented food". There were so many things wrong on the night we ate that it left a very bad taste in the mouth. Pun intended.!!Their lack of knowledgeable service, general ambience and inability to provide proper food is not worth the trip! The food during our visit was terrible, I have never eaten vegetables this chewy and tasteless. Confit potatoes smelled awful and felt like I was chewing on flavorless gummy bears. The dishes were very confusing, and there were some bizarre combinations which simply did not work. Food seems to be put together without relatively much thought to it. The flavours didn't make any sense at all being on only one plate! Kitchen sink and all! It is literally children playing at cooking. Over-rated, over-priced and over-hyped nonsense. Chef and Sous Chef are way off game, and need to take lessons on how to pull this off properly. This is an absurdly expensive restaurant which values form far more than substance. The food in general is bland, accompanied by a diatribes of nonsense (including the kitchen sink)and across nauseating tiny portions, is of a uniformly tasteless characters I have never experienced a more pompous, self important, self satisfied load of nonsense in the last 15 years. This is only for the self righteous "foodies/hipsters" who are too stuck-up to say what garbage the food is. Avoid .There are far better vegetarian choices out there .

Nestor Balce

Limited but good menu. Unfortunately two out of four dishes each had unbalanced flavors. Wait staff is friendly and atmosphere is nice

I had the most unbelievable dinner and dining experience at the Acorn last week with my friends. First time trying this place, heard it's one of Vancouver's best vegetarian resto's. I pre-booked for my wonderful girlfriends birthday dinner. For dine in at this point it's recommended to reserve a table, if wanting to be inside, rather than patio. We had the chef's menu, which is a multicourse meal from appy, multiple mains and dessert. "Wow", would be an appropriate term, from the service, food preparation and presentation, the taste its truly exceptional. Service is friendly and unpretentious, the servers are knowledgeable on the ingredients and wine pairings. The food is amazing, being all veggies (vegan and gluten free on request). Tastes you wouldn't expect from veggies. Highly recommended, even carnivores will be impressed. Well worth the money. Come hungry the multicourse is a lot of eating.

Lex Lo

A unique and amazing food experience. The care and technique that goes into the food is unmatched. It is not a vegetarian restaurant, it’s just a really amazing restaurant that happens to not serve animal protein. This is a must try for anyone who lives in the GVA or anyone visiting Vancouver.

Jesse Couture

This place is always amazing. Portions look small, but are always filling. Flavor is always spot on. Service has been friendly in our experience. Drinks and juices are also good, so don't miss out on those.

Iniko Blue

Great vegan place with surprisingly tasty dishes. Chef's menu was reasonably priced and one of the most interesting combinations I have experienced in a long while. Highly recommended vegan or NOT.

The food was well prepared, the flavors were balanced. Great veggie/vegan spot. It was super clean, and the bathroom had bird sounds. I was a huge fan of the decor, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Stayed for the desert, highly recommend! ^_^

Exceptional service, cosy and romantic setting, delicious food. The Acorn is Vancouver dining at its best!

shayla johnson

A pretty quaint and hip setting. Great vegetarian food; very flavourful.

Alex S.

Delicious food and nice table services

Giovana Olivares

Gotta love the Acorn! Food and service were top notch! Waytago guys!

John Peterson

This is the best vegan/vegetarian restaurant ever!!! The food is amaaazing and their cocktails are great. You cant go wrong with any of their dishes. Its small and gets very busy so be there early or anticipate long waits. But all worth it. I will definitely go there again and again.

Gregory Kehm

Great restaurant. Creative and delicious food, high-end presentation and good service. Only thing is that it is quite small and wait list can be long.

Malum Salina

Upscale, vegetarian eatery with a good selection of local beer and a charming atmosphere. They are a bit on the pricey side, given that their meals are mainly produce: $18 for a kale salad, $20 for deep-fried halloumi reminiscent of fish and chips. It's worth it for a special occasion, but not for an every day dinner..

Calen Macdonald

One of the best vegetarian restaurant in Vancouver. You will find quality, taste, beautiful display and great service. I highly recommend this place if you love amazing food. It is s little expensive and you will find that it is worth the money.

Michael Scutt

Simply wonderful. Would never hesitate to recommend this to vegetarians and carnivores alike. Exceptional flavours, attentive and amicable service and, seriously, the food. ????

Nelson Ledwez

If I could give them a 6 star review, I would. I was taken on a spiritual journey when I ate here to say the least. My tastebuds have never danced the way they did while tasting Chef Devons creations. His team is absolutely phenomenal and so kind, the drinks were fantastic and created with love, the music set the tone for the whole night and they somehow paired it perfectly with the food. If you're looking for a whole dinning experience, this is the place to be. No doubt.

farzod darzi

Absolutely delicious and unique vegetarian & vegan food. Some of the menu combinations may seem strange upon first glace, with ingredients and flavours that aren't your everyday norn, but the chefs at the Acorn make tremendous choices with their menu. Fresh and bold flavours for brunch and dinner, with the Harvest always being a highlight

Denise Belisle

Fantastic. I felt like applauding after finishing the mains, and the dessert was a show-stopping encore.

Alan Bo

First time at Acorn for my monthly dinner with my girlfriends. Definitely delicious food and great presentation! They change their menu every 2-4 weeks if I understood currently, so I'll be stoked to try something new. Going on our list of regular restaurants.

Jen Pea

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a long time but they don’t take reservations. But I finally made it by going there at the opening time. The food, service, and ambience were all great! I’d love to come back soon.

Vegan and vegetarian friendly, amazing flavored and creative dishes. Food is amazing, you won't miss the meat! Out of the downtown area, but worth the taxi or sky train ride for sure!

Roberto Ruz

The best breakfast in Canada hands down! What a little gem tucked into the corner of New Brunswick. All the right options, consistency, very clean, and proper prices. Check it out!

Le Barbershop

Best vegetarian, vegan restaurant in Vancouver. Wonderfully creative dishes and one of the best bars to match.

Jennifer Sibley

Absolutely amazing. First time come here and the main course Corn that’s like crazy good.

Ben Klein

This place is to die for! They use local and seasonal ingredients to create delicious meals that are platted perfectly. The staff are all so friendly and kind. We go here at least twice a month! If you haven't eaten here yet, you absolutely must go!

Shirley Ley

Very good place for vegans like me. Plenty of delicious options and a great drinks menu. Make sure to try a desert...you won't be sorry.

Living With Tiger

I don't usually try vegetarian dishes when eating out, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Food and service was great.

Lais Celem

Cute, cozy and romantic space. Great vegetarian restaurant with fantastic flavours. Inventive dishes. Although smaller portion, you’re getting quality over quantity. I had the fried artichoke and waffle (a take on fried chicken and waffles I’m guessing). It was good, but found it a little sweet. I would recommend the fried egg over this dish. The fried egg and the potato rosti was fantastic.

Lies Veldeman

A dinner for 4 was perfect -- quiet enough to enjoy not just the amazing food but also the conversation. The staff were professional and friendly.

Daniel Haslam

Terrible service! They promised us a table and then, on the way to the table, changed their mind and tried to sit us at the worst table in the restaurant. When I objected I was treated with disrespect and sarcasm. I will never go back!

Shannyn Lee

The restaurant is in a nice location, it gets busy around dinner, but if you give your name they can give a text once a table is free. I sat at the coffee shop across the street while waiting. The food was fresh and the service was great. It may have been just preference but I wasn't very satisfied with my meal. Fortunately the dessert was great. Also it's an all vegetarian menu.

Craig Cherlet

My favorite vegan restaurant in Mt. Pleasant area. The carefully crafted dishes bring unique and joyous experiences to customers. Love this place!

Christy K

The Acorn is amazing! Picked this place on a spontaneous whim and made reservations for me and my boyfriend for our anniversary. I wrote down for reservation notes or was our anniversary and to our surprise they gave us each a class of champagne on the house! So sweet. On top of that, the ambience was SUPER pleasant. Definitely great mood lighting. The food was EXCEPTIONAL and super tasty and luxurious. All around a wonderful experience and our server was such a joy to talk to and have! The menu intimidated me at first to be honest but only because I wasn’t sure what to get when they all sound (and tasted) so good. We will be back again soon and will be bringing our loved ones over! Thanks for an awesome night.

Hands down, most conscious restaurant in Mt Pleasant area! The owner & chef are amazing people and they really do care about the food & ingredients their customers are experiencing. We've been here a few times but most recently for a special event. The owner put so much thought and care into this event and it really did show through. The food is seriously top notch - unique ingredients being put into forward thinking formats. I will continue to visit this restaurant for special occasions - it really is so special that we'll only go there for those special occasions!

Spencer Croteau

The Acorn is my favourite go to special occasion restaurant in Vancouver. They have been ultimately kind and considerate to me and I am supremely grateful to them. Their food is superbly prepared and finely thought out. The end result is beautiful presentation and delicious flavour. An amazing dining experience!

Barmak Heshmat

My wife and I are not vegetarians/vegans but nonetheless, we very much loved this place. Their prices were reasonable, the service was friendly, and the food was incredibly delicious. The drinks were lovely as well. Highly recommended for foodies of all shapes and sizes!

Clinton Chan

Amazing food. Worth the wait. I'm not even vegetarian but this is the best meal I've had in a long time.

Max Novich

Pros: - Nice tasting food - Environmentally Friendly - Friendly waiter Cons: - Place is small - Food portions are small-er - Not so friendly hostess

Gowri Atkinson

A vegetarian place! The vegetables are fresh and there is a wide variety of them. They do an interesting twist to them. The home made pasta was okay, but thought it could had used a bit more flavor. We also order the main mushroom risotto, and that was nice and creamy. The offer complimentary sparkling water, which is nice. Try it once but I will probably try a different place next time.

Lei pochao

Fried mushroom and waffles were the best! An easy must brunch spot

YONGYEE YU

November 16, 2019 Food: Super delish! Don't expect big portions, but definitely quality for the price. I got the Mushroom n Waffle. The oyster mushrooms were fried to perfection. Light and crispy. The waffle was also very light. All sitting on top of a very interesting mix of gravy and maple syrup. Ambience: Very cozy small place. My sister said it is very nice during summer as all the windows be all open. Service: Poor. After receiving our foods, we did not see our waitress anymore. Our waters never got filled. We never got asked how our food were during dining. We finished our food for a while and no one came to us to collect dishes. We later saw our waitress walking around and fixing clean table settings. Another new girl was cleaning tables around us. Yet no one seem to noticed we were finished for a while. The place was closed at 230pm and it was 250pm. I know you may want to go home, but so do we. If it wasn't of the service, I would give it 5 stars.

Rfen Kai

Really amazing veggie/vegan cheffing. I came here soon after becoming vegetarian, and it was the turning point where I realised I could not miss meat at all. Great cocktails, great staff. No bookings and often a wait, but you can order a drink whilst you wait. Very small so expect a delay, but well worth it and there are bars close by for a pre game drink.

Mabel Concepcion

Amazing food and great service! My partner and I came here for their thanksgiving feast. We were very pleased with the food and that it was completely vegan. We haven’t eaten so good in a long time. It can get busy here so always make a reservation.

Neil Bacon

We sat at the bar for our meals and the ambience and vibe of the place was so nice. Highly recommend ☺️

Angel Luo

Nice for an occasional meal but a bit pricy for my liking and not focused enough on vegan dishes.

Jon Ben

Very nice restaurant. Food is okay for me bc I’m a meat lover. Worth a try cocktail

Justin Kimura

Every dish is layered with several flavours! It was an exciting and interesting dine out night for me!

Cole Merkley

Great vegetarian food. Had the halloumi and risotto, the halloumi was very good but honestly fried cheese always is. Risotto was ok, not bad but not a favourite. Had the special dessert which was a quince pie and it was delicious. Not too sweet but enjoyable apple flavour

Rachel Hodgson

Great veggie food. No fake meat here, just interesting, flavorful dishes based on what's fresh now.

angela b

I'm not a vegan or vegetarian but we decided to give Acorn a try. We sat at the bar and got solid advice navigating the menu. The service and the recommendations were great. Tried two appetizers and two main plates between the two of us. The food was great but there was way too much as the portions were huge - realistically we could have ordered half of what we did and still be satisfied. The food was excellent and I would highly recommend Acorn to vegetarians and non vegetarians alike.

Jordan Polgar

Fresh, inventive and surprising dishes created from local and innovative ingredients. It's hard to do it justice with words so just go and order as many things as you can fit on the table. Each dish is perfectly prepared with expertly balanced flavours. And they feature kiwis grown in Abbotsford, which is a triumph for the Canadian agriculture industry. Ok. Enough talk. Just go.

Sheldon Tay

The food is delicious and creative. Their dishes has a nice presentation. The place is contemporary and elegant. I loved their lamps. The staff is very friendly. The reason why I didn't give 5 stars, because the portions are too small.

David Arnott

In my opinion one of the top 3 best vegetarian places in the world for sure !

Kyla Hicks

Busy. No reservations. Pompous names on the menu but small portions. Much frying. Limited selection on the menu. Clean. Good service. Will not come again.

Kelsey Devan

Amazing food. Waitress explained the dishes very well - - personal attention. Sparkling water is complimentary. Nice experience. The price is mediocre, once in a while visit but great quality food. If you haven't tried the food, it's 100% worth the visit.

Andrew

Favourite Vancouver restaurant, and that's saying something coming from a non vegetarian! Such creative and yummy food with frequent menu rotation.

Sofia Favila

Excellent experience, the Acorn staff and chefs never fail to provide exceptional dining and menu items.

Such a master piece of a restaurant. Feels like an art experience once sitting down. Very good service, have to come back with friends.

J C

A wonderful experience of bold dishes full of flavour and paired beautifully with local wines. A warm and inviting service team that goes extra with service and value!!

Melanie Y

We had a nice brunch here with my parents. Good vegetarian fare, cool ambience and good service. The meals we had for the price point was a little disappointing, but I think I’d had really high hopes at the time. We may come again and try dinner.

Hilmar Koch

Very cool space! Love a vegetarian/vegan restaurant that doesn't try to make the dishes taste like meat. Quality food focused, lots of local produce. Amazing flavours and both vegan and gluten-free options. Really tasty, great service and great cocktail menu. I would skip dessert next time, but if you're a fruit or flan person, you might like the offerings. Can't wait to go back.

Charles McNeill

Delicious food. An excellent vegetarian option.

Emily Lu

Hands down our favourite restaurant in Vancouver. Everything from the atmosphere, service, and food is pure perfection. The Acorn has truly nailed it. Whether you're vegetarian, vegan, or just a lover of food, you'll be in bliss.

If you are looking for artistic vegetarian food, look no further. You can tell that the chef truly loves being creative with food. Half the time I don’t even know what I am eating because they use such uncommon and decadent ingredients. Every bite of every dish I’ve had does something magical to my soul.

Jay Lee

First time at Acorn for my monthly dinner with my girlfriends. Definitely delicious food and great presentation! They change their menu every 2-4 weeks if I understood currently, so I'll be stoked to try something new. Going on our list of regular restaurants.

H Elavia

Quite a bit of hype around this place. In practice your experience minus the expectation = Satisfaction. They don't take reservations unless you're a group of 6. I think Heirloom Vegetarian is more consistent. Chickpea Restaurant (vegan) down the street has a much more upbeat atmosphere.

Bakul Dalal

I just been there for 10 minutes and felt so so much positive, optimistic about life and these people really shifted my mood. I wish the best for them in return. Whole love.❤❤❤❤

Gillian Damborg

Overall it was very disappointing and unsatisfactory. We've dined at fining dining many times especially hotel fine dining, but this place, together with service and value, is not worth the price at all. We expected so much more with …

Lara Marchionni

The food was extremely tasty! The servers were all very friendly and kind as well! 10/10 check it out.

TJ

I’ll start by saying the waitressing staff are LOVELY and are doing a good job! We were really excited to try this restaurant as our friends recommended it. The menu is very complicated to understand and don’t give much of an explanation of what you are ordering. We got the ravioli starter and it was just 4 pieces for $12 and the noodles were undercooked My partner got the carrot and peas and it was edible but bland. I got the “garlic” labelled dish and it was just whole baby potato’s with a little bit of pretty spicy cream in the bottom. I couldn’t eat it, it was both bland and spicy at the same time. I also got a haze cocktail that was very strong (a good thing) but it had grounds in it that I had to pick out of my mouth Overall it was way overpriced given the food wasn’t very good and was very small. We went to cactus club after as we left hungry

Vivian Solana

Some awesome food was had, coffee as is was great, beer and more on the menu - I will definitely be going back. Only thing I'd note is portions are small.

Wes Rundle

Fell in love with this establishment upon the first experience I had in ordering the daily harvest. As I've continued to visit, I have only ever taken this approach, until my most recent night spent here. For the first time I had ordered an appetizer alongside my harvest dish and I should have expected it to be just as good. I honestly can't get enough of the food and atmosphere here, it's absolutely unreal.

Carly Overman

Quite pricey, food was mediocre, not a huge variety, more vegetarian than vegan although there are vegan options, food was also quite salty and the dessert was much too sweet, again, for quite high prices, difficult to find parking, no reservations although we didn’t have to wait

Carrie Seibel

For a restaurant that doesn't take reservations, I would have expected them to take note of which customers come first for their "first come first serve" policy, instead of picking randomly who the server set their eye on first. I ordered the skillet with a poached egg (17.50+tax) and it was good and very filling. I would say the downside is that it's pretty greasy and some potatoes were more undercooked than others.

Quinn Schneider

Excellent service. Excellent food, coffee and drinks. Fast, friendly service. Can not fault. Loved it.

S T

One of the best restaurants I've been to! Absolutely delicious brunch menu with plenty of selection and a great cocktail menu. Also the staff are fantastic as well. Would recommend.

Makeesha Fisher

Great choices of vegan and gluten dishes, with fresh ingredients and friendly service. Love the earthy decor!

Shirley Wills

I've eaten here once, food is outstanding!!!! Vegetarian cuisine on another level completely. I would recommend going as two, and be prepared to wait for a while on weekends. We brought Vegan friends from out of town on a Friday night hoping for a table, and were turned away at 9:30....which was kind of sad

Flooby

Intricate vegetarian dishes. Very tasty. Portions on the smaller side. I'd definitely go back and try more

Luca Roediger

Nice food but slightly challenging for me. I love to try as many vegan options as possible. My kale starter was my favourite, sorry I forgot to take a picture. My main was called ramp pic2 and I also shared the harvest pic1 main with my partner. The service was great, knowledgable on the flavours. Worth a trip but probably wont be back very soon.

A S

The vegan tasting menu was creative and delicious!

Anne W

The food was carefully thought out and handled with respect. Atmosphere was great and staff was knowlegable. Definitely will not be my last visit!

Shonnah

A really great experience at that restaurant! They waitress could speak a very good French and was super friendly. The food is amazing. A lot of healthy options. They gave me a small appetizer because they said they were sorry for the waiting. I didn’t realized I was waiting for that long! I took 2 of the bigs plates. Next time I would probably take a smaller plate and then a main one so I have space for dessert.

Guhan Chendurnathan

We had brunch and dinner here on two different days. All the meals we had were bursting with flavour and were made with regional and seasonal ingredients (lentils, celeriac, leeks, seaweed,... what you'd expect to eat in winter) so even if you're not vegetarian or vegan, I guess you won't miss meat or dairy in your meal at all. Some highlight: lentil pate + chickpea crackers, chili-glazed celeriac + celeriac remulade (dairy free), chickpea + squash brunch stew Service was attentive, knew what to recommend and how to pair food with wine. The only flaw I was able to find was that they were not able to accomodate a child, so no extra meals for little finicky eaters, but then again, very few fine-dining restaurants are

Roland Haynes

Good food (even by my non-vegetarian friend's standards), and at a highly reasonable price for an upscale restaurant. Virgin drink selection is quite fancy; I really liked the house-made ginger beer.

Megan Veaudry

Dinner at the Acorn is on my must do list whenever I am in Vancouver. Had a magical and memorable meal on the curbside terrace. The food is exquisitely conceived, beautifully presented, and a feast for the senses. Superb cocktails and wine list! Highly recommend Altares de Postmarcos to make the smoky flavours pop. The minerality of the wine pairs so well with the layered and complex flavours. Our service was friendly and attentive despite the full house and patio. Can’t wait to go back!

Gladys L

I'm not a vegan but the food was delicious, different, and very filling. You don't need to be a vegetarian or foodie to appreciate the creative flare that goes into these dishes. The boys I was with - who are bit eaters, all left with a sense of satisfaction. Highly recommend!

Rahul Banerjee

This place serves appetizer bite size plates for a whopping $50 per person 3 course meals. Get ready to be sent on a flavorful journey , its defiantly going to send your taste buds on an adventure! Their menu changes seasonally which is attractive. Staff was great and the chefs.... you guys out did yourselves! Can't wait to go back ????

Jasmine Carlson

'Ramp' fettuccine pasta - The presentation was great and I had high expectations. It tasted ok, and was a small plate, almost like an appetizer. I would not recommend this one in particular. Chocolate Desert - is incredible. I had a beautiful presentation, it was rich, tasty with some nice texture added by the shaved caramelized almonds.

Richard Hersley

Super awesome and amazing! Besides the fact they accidentally forgot to make our food haha but it was all good they made up for it with how delicious the food was!

Xanthea Vandelay

Compared with other cities I've lived in and visited Vancouver has a more healthy mindset with several options to satisfy. DISCLAIMER: I'm not vegan or vegetarian, I just like good food and The Acorn has plenty. With all the options available on Main it was hard to decide to come here bit it was worth it. The prices aren't cheap and range between $15 and $20 so your bank account won't take a huge hit. The only thing I regret is that I didn't check in here so I guess I'll have to come back. Maybe I did that on purpose :)

Chrys LoScerbo

Simply fantastic, imaginative and tasty food. Complemented by great drinks and warm service.

Lauren Moore

The food was spectacular, the atmosphere was too, drinks, everything. Our server was a little abrupt and we felt like she didn't really have time for us, but to be fair, we were six and another six had just sat next to us around the same time.

Lucy Fenn

My brunch dish was amazing. My friend ordered poached eggs and they were over cooked. He sent them back and out of the two he got back, one was overcooked too. The service is pretty good and the staff were very polite. I'm just going to assume they kitchen staff were experiencing a bad poach day.

Véronique Trieu

Had the three-course meal with a couple small-bites to share. The ingredients and the plating/visuals were on point, and the servers were attentive. One star deducted for over-seasoning of all the dishes. Came with a group of 5 and everyone unanimously agreed that every dish was too salty or the seasoning overpowered the taste of the ingredients. If they could tone down the seasoning, this would’ve been a 5-star experience

Blair Younghusband

Interesting menu, not very accommodating to minor changes in dish, attentive service, decor and seating is adequate

Shrividhya Iyer

Great tasting Vegan/Vegetarian food, they are amazing at accommodating food allergies or diet specifications. The menu always varies but it always tastes good.

Kirk Chantraine

Always fresh and delicious. Just the right amount of flavour-dense food.

Jason Chen

Delicious inspirational food, terrific service. However very small portions. I would pay more for an entre that would satisfy. Ended up paying more anyway as we went to another restaurant after because we were still hungry.

Amanda Wong

The flavours of every dish are so unique, it's amazing!!! A high quality experience and really great people. Definitely worth the visit!

James McKenney

Been going here since the first few weeks many years ago. Still one of the best, if not the best. Imaginative and fresh. Just go.

Marcus J

The wait period is very long but their food is good. We were given great service.

Glen B

Lovely ambiance, well balanced delicious food, and friendly staff. Acorn is now a “must go” when visiting Vancouver.

Shadan Sargent

Truly one of the best restaurants I have been to in my life. You'll discover taste combinations that you have never experienced before. And really amazing staff. Extraordinary.

Dave Knight

The entree I had - aubergine dish was good. The desserts were rather strange and not very appetizing. The waitresses were not friendly. There were 5 of us and they wanted to accommodate us at a small table for 3 -4 people. The music was too loud - a conversation killer.

Jesus Mario Funes

The food was great, had the vegan beer dish. My meat eating family enjoyed the food too and one has even gone back.

Robert Cole

Our first time to Acorn and it was a pleasurable experience! Neither my wife or I are vegetarian, but the meals are made with such love that anyone would enjoy these finely crafted meals! Mischa was our server and provided such a warm friendly greeting. He was very knowledgeable and explained the menu to us in great detail. This helped us decide on the Chefs Menu. A menu crafted around your food restrictions, yet a complete surprise for what will be arriving in a multi-course meal. I still couldn't tell you what was on our plates, but I could say that everything was flavorful and well presented. The price is pretty steep for brunch, but the level of service could easily justify the cost. Mischa had my coffee cup topped up with precision timing without asking. A simple act that separates quality service from another establishment. Looking forward to returning to try the Dinner menu. Lastly, I'll mention that I want to return with my neice who is a celiac. I was informed that Acorn would be able to accommodate the request. If my review helped, please give me a ???? Thanks!

Michaela Putra

Worthy of the accolades, vegetarian food that does not attempt to imitate meat (finally) and in the process delivers unique, fully realised veggie based dishes that intrigue and flavors that give you hope we could one day transition to a sustainable food system

Great concept, decent food, good service.

Nauhie Kim

Refreshingly delicious. Had the tomato appetizer and it was amazing, quality ingredients composed in an elegant manner. It's always hard to find good vegan and vegetarian restaurants that showcase the best of the season and acorn does it so well

Susan Heximer

The creativity surrounding the vegetarian ingredients spawning their dishes is amazing. The atmosphere here is pleasant and the staff are very helpful in educating diners in regards to the kitchen creations and recommendations for those with particular palates. The prices may be a tad in the higher end but that should not discourage anyone from trying a very satisfying experience

Maxime Juneau

Unique in every way. The gentle demeanour of the owner infuses the space with joyful experiences, tasty flavours and warmth. The desserts are not to be missed!

Renaud D

Casual fine dining is the best way to describe this place. They don't advertise that they're a vegetarian restaurant and just lets the food, service, and drinks speak for themselves. The ambiance is dark, chill, and chic. The service is consistently top notch. The prices are steep for what you get, but the whole experience just about justifies it.

Rosemary Prinz

Love the food. I chose Mushroom as my appetizer... amazing and surprise with the sea kale and the sauce to tie the whole dish. The main course I had The Harvest, I was so full from the dish. I am not Vegan this place has my vote.

Desi Bellamy

I've never been treated worse, they kicked us out regardless of their empty restaurant. Servers were extremely rude. Food was good but the service ruins it all! They should change their hostess and waitresses.

Steve Bottomley

It's a nice place for first vegetarian date.

Chris Luehmann

The online market is great! We used to come for dine in a lot (which was always amazing!). During covid, they've adapted well and set up an online market. The market is so wonderful - especially during a time when grocery shopping is so difficult! It has farmer's market favourites, along with prepared foods (baba ganoush and mushroom cream sauce were delicious!).

R Manson

It was so so good. We're had the "chef's choice multi-course" and I figured with so many things there'd be at least one thing I didn't like, but everything was fantastic. ????❤

Colleen Xie

The food here is always excellent and never disappoints. Vegetables never tasted better. Got the 3-course meal because of COVID-19. The shiitake mushrooms were delicious and probably my favorite from the course menu.

The Shiitake was heavenly

Amazing place in Vancouver !!! Atmosphere, light, music all mixed perfectly. Vegetarian high level quality, sophisticated dishes. Take the “chef’s menu” and enjoy it with all the senses.

Jenn S

Terrible experience. The owner did not communicate with the staffs well and therefore missed our reservation while I booked it for my mom's birthday. The staff handled the crisis poorly. The staff was clearly panic, blamed the responsibility on their owner, no solution, no compensation, basically nothing. So on my mom's birthday, 6 of us has to stand outside for half an hour with a cake do not know what to do. How great.

Bharat Dhingra

Probably the best meal I'll eat this year, the menu is sensational, creative and a little bit weird.

Ryanne Harden

I am no where near to be vegetarian and I LOVED it. Staff is top notch as well.

I’ve always had great experiences here but my anniversary was exceptionally special. Acorn was great about dietary needs (vegan and celiac) and also great about my partners last minute request to include gluten on his plate only for the chefs offering ???? We were offered some drinks on the house for the occasion which was very appreciated. The food was PHENOMENAL!! It just kept coming and it was all, as always, the tastiest thing I’ve ever tried. They sat us in the corner near the window and it was very private and romantic; the windows were cracked so light danced over our table for the two hours we sat celebrating. The evening was perfect! Thank you, Acorn for making our anniversary such a special time.

Alexandra Elizabeth

Good atmosphere. Clean and modern restaurant with a nice bar scene. Service and waitress were really nice and helpful explaining the dishes before and before serving. Food was excellent quality. Fresh, tasty and with certain twist that made each plate exciting.

Mayara Benedetti

Love the brunch here. Cornbread and tomato, with a deep fried poached egg. Amazing! Also loved their chefs degustation menu, for dinner. The fried holluomi with chips and peas is fantastic. Good cocktails, decor and service too.

Coral Lewis

Great vegan/ Vegetarian option restaurant! The deco and vibe is super cute.

Becky Foo

One of my favourite spots in Vancouver. When I have friends visiting from out of town I always bring them here because it never fails to impress. I'm not sure if food can be joyful, but I'm sure they put a little bit of extra love in every bite. During the virus crisis they'e doing a contactless market pickup window and free delivery!

Latif Ullah (Labcatz)

We had gnocchi with crispy shaved carrots. The flavour and the texture are well balanced that you just can’t put down your fork. The beer battered halloumi was also an eye opener. I wish I had the stomach to taste all the items on the menu. Everything is just perfect! Will definitely go again on a special occasion but their food is just worth sharing with someone you care or love.

Theresa Brown

One of the coolest food experiences we had with the tasting menu. So many great flavours and a good menu that showcased some great local produce. And the wine pairing were delicious too.

Katarina Bowman

If you aren't a Vegetarian this isn't the place for you. I never expected you pay $25 for half a fried Zucchini.

Alex Ozols

Tasted really good. They slightly messed up our order, but fixed it without a fuss. The portions are rather small by USA standards.

Mackey Doo

We got here just in time. 30min after opening on a Monday evening and they were already full. The menu was great, we went for the chef's choice and were not disappointed. A nice little change from a regular restaurant.

James Young

amazing vegan/vegetarian brunch! I make sure to eat here every time I'm in Vancouver.

Edward Zhou

It was really busy for a Wednesday night. Waiting times were slightly more than half hour. We had to sit by the bar. Ambience was good. The waiters were friendly. We didn't wait long for the food to be served. It looked as if the portions were small, but it was quite filling. No hint of spice in any of the dishes. The food was really good. We had a good time. Prices were on the higher side.

Sarah LeSage

Wow! One of the best restaurants I've been to. It is amazing what they can do with plants. I wish I lived nearby!!!

Enzo

Came here for dineout Vancouver, they had an amazing selection of vegan and vegetarian food for the menu! Even my non vegan/vegetarian friends absolutely loved it !

Jonathan Gordon

Excellent food with long list of ingredients. Great service with attention to detail. Great food presentation. portion sizes vary. Raw food not for the those with difficulties digesting. Clean and peaceful bathrooms. Small venue so not ideal for large groups, can also get really hot in summer (30+ degrees inside - not ideal). Expect to wait to be seated (although they can message you by text to notify you).

Lovey Riar

I went here for my birthday and had a great meal and the drink menu is really unique too! If i lived in Vancouver i would be going here more often.

Delaney Bloudell

Just devoured a delicious brunch - complete with melty burrata, perfect coffee and adorable staff.

Ok, wow. I got Brassica for dinner. Braised + Pan Roasted North Arm Farm Caraflex Cabbage, Confit Red Chieftain Potato Écrasées, Kohlrabi Mustard, Charred Brassica Trim Red Wine Jus, House Dill Pickles, Cauliflower Mushroom Escabeche, Cabbage Crumb All I saw was cabbage and dill pickles, and I was sold. It was SO good. It was SUPER DELISH. Our whole table loved what we got ordered. My friend is a red seal chef, and she was over the moon with our meal, so you know it's great.

Joie B

Great vegetarian place. The food is creative and a must try. The service is a hit and miss, sometimes great service, sometimes quite awful.

Marko Ilicic

The best vegetarian meal I have ever had. Great service as well.

Jennifer Chou

just delicious and super friendly. My wife says "best vegetarian food ever", service was fantastic.

aaron mercer

Good food, but small portions and didn't accept Amex.

Bebecake

I live in Toronto but whenever I visit Vancouver I don't leave without eating here. Favourite vegetarian restaurant.

Chan Kruse

Great vegan menu! Really special and a real treat. Fine dining menu in a casual atmosphere. Great service.

Alexandr Moroz

Great place. The relatively high price was totally worth it. Getting everything vegan and GF was no issue at all. One of, if not the best dinner we ever had. The servers were so nice as well. I can totally recommend!

Sharayah Read

Service was top notch and the food offerings were delightful! I found a couple dishes to be almost trying "too hard" with a mish mash of so many ingredients that I couldn't tell what was what. That being said, the squash dessert was the best dessert I've had in years!

brian pearce

Amazing food! The menu was very unique and the flavors were amazing. This place has an intimate atmosphere and the service was fabulous! I would highly recommend it and will definitely return to check out more of their delicious creations.

Tina TxShh

We reserved with the understanding that we would get the tasting menu as that is the only option for reservations. There were 6 of us and one person was vegan so they made all of our dishes vegan and served it all family style instead of individually like they were supposed to. A few of the dishes were good but most were vinegary vegetables and tasted the same. Then when we were exhausted with vinegary veggies we were served the forest floor cereal for desert instead of the expected cinnamon roll because they wouldn’t accommodate us as individuals and so were were all vegans that night. Totally unacceptable for $69 per person plus $49 for wine pairings. They could have put in a little effort. Won’t waste another meal there.

Ev Haus

Nice creative cuisine vegetarian restaurant with shared plate. The staff is very nice and the wine selection wisely made. I see the comments of people saying the portions are tiny : we were 5 very hungry people and I left the restaurant absolutely full.

Cassidy Northway

Food looks like art and tastes soo good!

lizzy karp

One of the best vegetarian restaurants in Vancouver. No reservations so go early to avoid the inevitable lines.

went here for birthday and thoroughly enjoyed the dine out menu and wine pairings! phenomenal food

Graham Wilson

Ate there on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was busy, and a 15-minute wait for a table was quite reasonable. Acorn has a pleasant, informal atmosphere and the staff is delightful - friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Cocktails are unusual, and worth sampling. The food is delicious, and beautifully-presented. Portions are not large, but prices are not outrageous. We had a lovely evening, and will go back again.

Lyubomir Radev

Always excellent, all around. Unique food, attentive service, and great atmosphere. This place is a Vancouver gem, for vegans, vegetarians and omnivores alike.

Patrisse Chan

The Shiitake was heavenly

Amanda Lim

What a pleasant surprise, their full menu wasn't open as it was car free day when we went by. I was still impressed with the drink and service. The bartender was so helpful and concerned when my glass had the smallest of cracks in it. She replaced the glass and drink immediately, was amazing service!

Fiona Burness

Fantastic food! Flavor profiles delight the palette. Sit at the bar and let Nick the bartender make great drinks for you. Can’t miss!

Sydney Moore

We went there for our anniversary, small restaurant with a great atmosphere, staff were great, the food was AMAZING and the wine pairings were even better ???? we are not vegetarian by the way, and we loved it. highly recommend!

Dena Ellery

Fantastic meal. Great wine pairing. A top tier Vegetarian restaurant. Highly recommended!

Sandra Nomoto

The food was amazing. We ordered 80% of the menu and enjoyed everything, so I won't list out everything here. It was my third time there, and I will go back.

Pia Kar

Food is always fresh, local, creative and delicious. On top of the amazing food, the staff are all so friendly and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to go back for another chef’s menu experience!

Russell Davison

Wow. 10/10

Deedee Xu

The Acorn is so dreamy. The menu is inspired, the ingredients are fresh, the staff is knowledgeable and every dish is almost too pretty to eat. Many GF options with staff showing extra care to address GF needs. A favourite go-to for modern food and cocktails.

Nancy Neyedly

The only restaurant I have any real interest in eating in in Vancouver as a vegan. I've tried almost everyone and nothing compares to Acorn. Worth every penny. They nailed it on every level!!

I had the special, but I also tried a little bit of the food my family ordered. Everything exceeded expectations. I am not vegetarian or vegan, but if all vegan/vegetarian food tasted that good, I would be. This is my new favorite restaurant,, and I will be returning for my birthday party.

Marilyn Shenton

When I think of fine dining, Acorn immediately comes to mind. The food, staff, and ambience are all amazing. This is my first pick when taking a friend out for a special occasion, entertaining a business partner, or just treating myself to the best meals I’ve ever had. Hands down, the best restaurant in Vancouver ????????

Justin Belford

Our favourite vegan restaurant in Vancouver. My partner and I have been here numerous times and it never disappoints. Great service, great food. Love it!

Ashley Yip

Absolutely love the creative and unique food here! Always delicious - I've tried quite a few things off their menu and have never gone wrong. (Their Instagram photos will also tempt you with food you will absolutely die for.) Wish I could eat here regularly, but they certainly do get quite busy. Kudos to the owner (who is incredibly friendly) and the Acorn team.

Michael Stewart

Only vegetables here, and they're delicious. Incredibly tasty dishes, no animals harmed. I like meat, and I also like this place.

Kevin Han

What an absolute gem!! I'm not a vegetarian or a vegan by any means, and this placed was unreal. The flavors and versatility of this menu was so unique. Put on top the great wine selections and custom drinks by their bartender Nick..... unmatched. This is a must do on your Vancouver restaurant bucket list. Thanks to the chefs and entire staff on a perfect evening!!

James Michael Miller

Service is really bad. Staff is very rude and snobby. Overpriced food which tastes lower quality than McDonalds.

Tim Riley

First time here & blown away! The food was superb. Our server was incredible & she chose an entire feast for us to share. Each plate was truly a creation. Some of the best food we have had. Great service & kudos to the Chef! We will be back!

Graham Goodwin

Excellent vegetarian meals with a great atmosphere. Definitely on the expensive side!

Ashley Zee

The service was great. The food was excellent. I thought I was not going to be full because of the portion sizes but I left stuffed and more that satisfied. Will definitely go back.

Colin Russell

This restaurant is amazing. Reading the menu is a bit overwhelming, but they really credit their local source. You won't need to understand much of the menu because everything is so delicious. The chef is very talented. Our server was really nice and friendly. Gonna return to try the rest of the menu.

Ben Cochran

The best

Sunil Sanghani

I had a great time at the acorn with friends. This is a great place for sceptical meat eaters who want to dine with vegetarian or vegan friends (gluten free options available too). I had deep fried halloumi with a potato leek patty and mashed peas. It was delicious!

Ian Dupree

Vegetarian food. Almost everything on the menu is $15.

Tanya Terrell

Went for Mother's Day brunch.... The skillet just had under cooked, still hard potatoes and root veggies, under salted, barely any hollondaise sauce. The fried artichoke & waffle had a dry cold waffle with a cold, congealed gravy, though the bourbon maple syrup and the artichoke itself were nice. Was really disappointed, as had heard good things. Will never go back and will attempt a redo of Mother's Day next week, as she was not at all happy with my attempt to take her out for a nice brunch.

Andrew Browne

Awesome food that's unique in flavour. The portion sizes aren't huge so if you're looking for a big feed, I'd recommend somewhere else. But if you're looking for good, healthy, unique and delicious food, this is the place. Friendly staff. Our waitress after finding out that I wasn't feeling too crash hot, when we got around to dessert, brought it out with a sparkler to "help make me feel better". Definitely put a smile on my face and I wouldn't hesitate to return here. She had blonde hair and was quite soft spoken and lovely.

A Bryson

The Acorn is always such a solid place. Lots of seasonality. Innovative dishes. Also a very cosy place, with great service. Prices are easy on the budget.

Stella Lee

Vegan tasting menu was very disappointing. We left hungry and it really wasn’t anything special. Not worth the hype at all.

Senja Jarva

Had high expectations for this restaurant as I'd heard so much about it. Was not let down by any means. Had the mushroom appetizer, which was delicious, followed by the brassica main dish (equally amazing). My girlfriend had the fried halloumi and while I don't regret my main choice, it certainly looked amazing as well. Will definitely return. This is a very small restaurant so if you want a seat then consider getting there early!

Alanna Clancy

Amazing food, atmosphere and service! Definitely will go back to try more items from the menu. Besides the food drinks are pretty good too. One of the best caesar I have ever had.

Daniel Bourdon

Good food! Gourmet veggie and vegan. Pricey but worth it if that's what you're seeking

Michael Greenwell

went there for a first date and the food definitely made an impression that we had to come back one year later. The chef is extraordinary and the service is impeccable. It is quite busy most time we have gone but its worth it nonetheless. The portions are small as it is fine dining, but the flavours are out of this world which makes you want to come back for more. It is worth the money and the wait!

John Geyer

Very good cocktails if you like stiff drinks. The haloumi is delicious along with the pate.

Ronie Swank

I like this little restaurant: strange and creative cocktails, delicious food, a small and intimate space. Want to eat there every day. Had the Stoned and Bitter cocktail, which is not for the faint of heart and well work the experience. The food is the perfect combination of odd and comforting... roasted Brussels sprouts (comforting going to grandmas kindda food) with smoked onion puree (weird thing to do with an onion). Get there early because the place has earned it' s popularity. And if you find yourself waiting for a table you can hang around the bar and get Stoned and Bitter.

Nets

Absolutely fantastic food. Can't wait to go back. Plating was beautiful and taste was even better. Service was OK--our server served my companion, who had been upfront about being lactose-intolerant, a cocktail with a candy made of butter. We caught it before she had eaten it, but it would have ruined our night if we hadn't been vigilant. The restaurant should improve the familiarity of the servers with the bar menu to avoid similar mistakes. Even with this negative, still 5 stars.

Will Haberl

Lovely food, great service. Not cheap, but definitely worth it!

Kyle Juron

Fantastic spot for brunch AND dinner. The theme is warm, modern, classy and professional. The service is phenomenal. Every person who works here seems to enjoy their job and what they do. They want to help you and make sure your meal is the best you’ve ever had, while respecting privacy for when it’s your time to eat. It’s a very affordable place to eat for plant forward dishes. That being said it's a common misconception when it comes to vegetarian/ vegan food that it tastes bad. The Acorn will prove you wrong. Perfectly cooked veggies with perfect spice and flavour combinations. I’m personally vegan so I go for all the vegan dishes or opt for all the vegan versions. Every dish is crafted with care. Easy to enjoy any dish you order here. You leave seeing vegetables in a new light. Try closing your eyes while you eat, really focusing on every individual flavour and all the 'textures'. Truly an experience to behold. Fav Dishes | The Harvest. The Artichoke. The Burdock. Taro Chips w/ green vegan dip. Improvement | More locations. Less salt. Conclusion | Pleased each time. Highly recommend. Even non-veggies can be wowed.

Tessa Tennant

This restaurant was not my first or second (or third) choice....but I was going with a group and 2 of us were vegetarian so I suggested this place. I wasn't expecting much but what a surprise I had. One of the most delectable dinner experiences of this year. And the restaurant itself is very nice inside, great ambience and music, nice staff.

Natascha Vogel

Very cute little restaurant with an impressive menu offering many vegan and gluten free options. It's definitely a little pricey but the meals are surprisingly satisfying. If you enjoy large portions and meat for a low cost, this is definitely not a place for you.

k smith

food was great, but something is just awkward in waitresses. (uncomfortable facial expressions). think its a weird thing to say in a review? go there and see yourself

s l

wonderful vegetarian breakfast!!! rly liked da pancakes and da waffles and da crispy fried mushrooms and da berries ;)

Jennie Lucow

Amazing creative food that is seasonal and beautifully executed. Lovely service and felt very clean and safe with their covid protocols.

G R

Normally I would never consider a vegetarian only restaurant, but WOW! Ive never enjoyed a non-meat dinner as much as I did at Acorn. Bursting flavours, fresh and locally sourced ingredients, and unique dishes I had never heard of before... And the staff were super helpful and nice, knowing that everyone walks in there feels confused! Haha. The menu is just one page, and changes each season (I was there for Spring). Try the Halloumi !!

Gazelle Cheng

Came for brunch. Good food. Good vibe. The beggars brunch was tasty. Waffles were a bit hard but were gluten free and tasted good. Parking can be tough but I’ll be back. Usually if we can’t get a seat here we walk to the sister company, Arbor. Same same.

Bobby Coates

Vegetables with personality. Daring, outgoing, sardonic at times, and definitely vibrant and enthusiastic. Go meet some new friends!

Charlesetta Davida

Excellent vegan/vegetarian restaurant with beautiful presentation. Most items on the menu can be made vegan. Their Meyer lemon cheezecake with almond and spruce tip crumble is what dreams are made of. Sweet and smooth on the tongue with just the right amount of tanginess. I would go back just for that!

Rachel Yapp

Delicious veggie forward restaurant.

Nita Young-Yee

Without a double some of the best vegan plant based food I’ve ever eaten. I’m not sure what they are doing back there in the kitchen, but I hope they keep it up! We will definitely be back ????

Laurie Beauchamp

Reslly great atmosphere. A bit pricy but the food is definitely worth it. The halloumi is a must try

Liam Tynan

Visited this restaurant during Dine Out Vancouver 2019. We were excited because we always wanted to check it out since we're both vegetarian. The host was friendly and nice. The server was okay (don't know her name, she was slender, somewhat tall, with a very short haircut (boycut)). The menu was like it was written in a different language...everything was written some weird way so it's impossible to know what you're ordering. I ordered a Ginger Beer & Vodka and was told she would bring me a Moscow Mule and I told her i didn't want it because that comes with lime or she would have to make sure there's no lime in it. She said 'that's fine', she bought it back and it was a watered-down drink with lime in it. The appetizers; the Beet salad was okay, but the Potato soup was delicious. The entrees; the Squash pasta looked like maggots and so was unappealing, and the Allium was OK. When we told the server that the pasta was unappealing due to the look of it, she laughed it off and walked away. The desserts were just OK. The server wasn't anything special so i gave her a 10% tip (generous if you ask me), i saw her look at the bill and sarcastically said 'thanks' rolled her eyes and walked away. As we were walking out we were talking among ourselves about the pasta and there was another group of patrons there who overheard us and said they also thought the pasta was unappealing due to it looking like worms/maggots. The atmosphere in the restaurant is your typical Vancouver restaurant; loud and you're practically sitting next to other customers. When you walk in; you kind of stand at the door as a cluster. Needless to say after spending $120 on two meals i will never go back there again, Meet on Main is soooo much better as a vegetarian/vegan restaurant. I understand that The Acorn is going for a 'upscale boujee' hipster restaurant, but the food should be worth the price.

Brit Carpenter

Favourite restaurant in Vancouver by far with some of the best food I've ever had anywhere. Though my husband and I are vegetarian, we know so many people who aren't and still absolutely love this place! I was actually shocked to see any negative reviews as every time I've been it's blown me away. Keeping in mind, this place is an experience. With a thoughtful menu, unique ingredients and flavours, a sommelier to pair your meal perfectly, the Acorn is a meal you'll remember. If you're looking for big portions of mediocre food and cheap drinks, go to Earls.

Kim Merkley

Incredible food, very well presented. We sat at the bar and the bartender kept us engaged and the cocktails were lovely. Overall experience was so nice I forgot to take pictures. Pricey, but worth it for the quality. Staff are knowledgeable about the menu and they use seasonal ingredients in interesting ways.

JayCee

Food and prices didn't blow me away, but it was overall very good. Very nice servers, quiet, interesting menu. Daily special was very good.

I’ve always said, that the same thing that happened to Tesla needs to happen to veganism… Tesla made electric cars and electrification look and feel sexy. The same thing needs to ring true with veganism. I’m glad that establishments such as The Acorn, are here to elevate that cuisine and culture. Bravo for being pioneers. #first

Tricia Heywood

Delicious beautifully plated vegan meals! Delicious cocktails to boot :) a bit on the pricier side, but a nice place to splurge. Small though, so be prepared to wait for a table

Anita Bains

We expected a lot from The Acorn, supposedly the best vegetarian restaurant in Vancouver. A long line in front of the restaurant 10 minutes before it opened just reinforced our expectations. We got one of the last tables available. Appetizers were a hit and miss: we enjoyed the cashew pate that came with caramelized parsnip on the taro chips, but mushrooms completely disappointed (way too salty and oily). The kale salad with tempeh was not impressive, but the rosemary gnocchi that came with carrots were delicious. We decided to try out the raw squash tart that ended up being more creative than enjoyable. Overall, we were surprised with the food that was far from healthy, as one can assume after studying the menu. However, we've decided to give The Acorn another try, this time for a brunch.

Sharon Hanna

A great vegetarian/vegan restaurant with unique creative dishes. Flavours were nicely balanced and the dishes were quite filling. Great service and ambiance. I highly recommend this place to those looking for vegan options.

b k

Really great vegetarian food, kinda upscale. Great tastes. Rare to find in Canada. Loved the squash tart desert creamy and not too heavy or sweet.

Jay Bharwad

One of the top vegetarian restaurants in Vancouver! Great rotating menu with a few delicious signatures.

Heidi U

Very nice food, good atmosphere!

Romy Zaidel

Had gone here once before and found the food delicious. This time, though, it was stodgy. The food server was odd, as well, taking the liberty to offer my food to the person I was with. Then, suggesting the two of us split the bill in half, although the cost of our respective dishes was different. Finally, she went on and on describing the various dishes, although we had not asked.

T M

The skillet was pretty tasty but quite oily. The fried egg and beans was quite different to try but very good flavors.

Kendall Jones

A fabulous brunch/lunch! Definitely worth the hype. They do things with vegetables that will amaze you. Every dish was really inventive and delicious, and the staff were very friendly. Also great value! Would definitely recommend visiting if you're in Vancouver, this was by far the best meal we had on our trip to Canada

Clare Doherty

I can write an essay about my experience at acorn. I tried to keep it short since this is a review. I tried this place by my cousins recommendation and I was not disappointed. Lots of creative cocktails and then exotic food menu after that. I tried the chef's special where you get multiple dishes based on what you like. The chef takes you on a journey with a great selection of dishes they're all light and go smoothly with drink

Chris Jung

We had an AMAZING time at The Acorn - probably the best vegetarian restaurant I’ve been to in Vancouver. Every dish was delicious and unique, and our server Alex knew every detail about them. The cocktails were also great, we especially loved “La Cherie” (I think that’s what it was called?). Our server, Alex, was so lovely from start to end and took great care of us. Favourite dishes were Skirret for course 1, Nightshade for course 2, and Larch for dessert - though all were incredible! We can’t wait to come back again, especially as Alex mentioned that the menu items sometimes change. Overall, a superb dining experience and I would highly recommend The Acorn to anyone in Vancouver looking for a great (and delicious) night out.

Joceline Andersen

My carrot gnocchi was incredible, if very rich. The odd thing was that everyone else was served their meal in nice white restaurant dishes, and mine came in a chipped green bowl. The fried cheese dish wasn't worth ordering again. The space was on the verge of being too crowded and decorated with a hipster-vintage vibe. I'd recommend this place to my vegetarian friends looking for a hearty, cozy meal.

Daniel Silver

Very creative cuisine! Never thought there were so many different ways of cooking certain ingredients to bring out different textures and flavours! Definitely a unique experience not to be missed if you're in town and feel like a vegetarian/vegan dinner for a special occasion. The staff are also very accommodating and friendly, loved the vibe and atmosphere

Adam Thorson

The nicest most delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes I've ever had. The presentation is amazing while still offering a realistic portion of food.

Monique Arseneau

Not one for vegetarian food, I was very sceptical about whether I would feel full and satisfied with my food. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the food. I would certainly recommend this place as service was great too. Certainly given me food for thought over eating less meat and more veg. ????

Nellie Dorchester

They did not accommodate our reservation and did not respond in due time. Also food items, even though vegan or vegetarian, they mostly had alcohol added or cooked in which would not be accommodating for someone with an alcohol allergy or someone who doesn't consume alcohol. The staff was very nice and kind and professional. This review is to shed light on their choice of menu and being a vegan restaurant I expected many more options and more accommodations.

Tina Maass

I have always enjoyed coming to this place. It was Crave many years back, good food, etc. Have been to The Acorn in the summer when it was decent if a little overpriced for what you get. The other night - OMG. Service poor, wine glasses shabby - wine was a ridiculously small pour. Had to remind the server to bring the wine!

Nathan Spratt

This place makes delicious vegetarian meals - no two dishes are the same. Amazing food but definitely for an acquired taste

Lisa Welch

I'm not a vegetarian or vegan but the food was amazing!

Suzette Vancouver

Well, the wine I had was great, a BC white. I was a disappointed by the unfriendly service, the waitress had a veneer of annoyance throughout our time there. I'd hoped for beautiful flavours of well prepared vegetables, but instead was met with a hunk of over-cooked cabbage atop very salty mashed potatoes and smothered in a very salty gravy. The spice of choice seems to be A Lot Of Salt. And the "harvest" dish was a bunch of pasta with little bits of broccoli and hazelnut... not what we had hoped for. Positives include the fact that though it's a small space the noise level was not overwhelming. The decor is lovely, sweet quaint feel to it. And the food was definitely edible, not disgusting, just not living up to the potential that a "vegetable forward" restaurant could be.

Ringo Wong

Service

Robin Jones

Loved all the dishes and was very well taken care of by the staff! We had so many questions about what we were eating and they patiently explained everything ???? Great presentation, great atmosphere, lots of fun ingredients I’ve never come across before. Strongly recommend!

rugs729

The food was good, the service was fine, but the fact that there is a 15 dollar fee for them to open a bottle of wine that you buy in the restaurant is ridiculous. No one goes to a restaurant and looks at the wine list reads the very top of the menu to see whether or not they are going to be charged extra for them to open that bottle. It's a shady practice. I spoke to the manager about this when I was leaving and he told me that they are a high end restaurant and for them to be charging liquor store prices for a bottle of wine, I should be expecting something like this. If you are advertising a price on your menu, that should be the price that you are actually charging your customers.

Krista Hilge

Not in any rush to go back, but some nice presentation for some of the dishes. Had the squash and zucchini dish as a starter, and the Halloumi and Eggplant for main dishes. The Halloumi dish was very salty with not much to give you a break from it. Both the squash and zucchini starter and eggplant dishes were OK for taste, but quite nicely presented.

Sam Kellett

Good place for veggie lovers. There is a reason this restaurant is famous.

Linda Chen

It makes me very sad to have to write this review, but this is now the second time The Acorn has had a negative impact on my birthday dinner. The first time, I called and made a reservation the day of my birthday. When we arrived for our table, they told me that I had not called to confirm, so they had given my table away and it would be 1.5 hour wait. I would understand had they told me I needed to call and confirm, even though I was calling the day of, but they did no such thing. We then needed to cab to another vegetarian restaurant at our own expense, and wait for a table there. It was quite upsetting. Not as upsetting as this year though when I went for dinner with a friend and my sister-in-law. Everything was fine until we ordered a second bottle of wine between the three of us. We had the soup to start and were about halfway through our meal at this point. The server, who was actually the replacement for our original server and hadn't even served us anything yet, said he wouldn't be able to serve us because my friend was slurring her words. This was quite absurd because a glass of wine does not cause anyone to slur that I know of, and she was most certainly not slurring. She asked to speak to a manager, asked the manager if she was slurring her words, to which the manager replied no, she wasn't, but she had to back up her server who hadn't even been serving us all night. She then went on to say that we were not like their other guests. What on earth does that mean? I was quite shocked that came out of her mouth. Were we not stuffy enough for their liking? We are girlfriends who hadn't seen each other in a while, laughing and having a good time. It was my birthday. I don't know what kind of comment that was meant to be, but it was disrespectful and rude. I was embarrassed and made to feel like we were somehow beneath their other guests because we were having a good time. I can not take anything away from the food because it is delicious, but how you treat people is a very important part of the experience, and I will not let the Acorn ruin anymore of my meals. So very disappointed, they could have had a customer for life, now they have a vegan who is always taking people out to show them how delicious the food can be, who will be taking her guests elsewhere.

Susan Rochefort

So many rules, to make a reservation, where you can sit... was so busy and therefore asked to go have a drink somewhere else, then come back. Took my mother for her birthday, which they acknowledged that it was her birthday, but nothing, not a happy birthday cocktail or anything. And kind of snooty about it all. Some things on the menu, great! other's, meh at best

Ashley Gould

Delicious food and great service. Not a place to go to though if you are hungry as the portions are very small. I left this restaurant quite unsatisfied as there just was not enough food provided. My husband and I shared an appetizer and desert and each had a main. One thing we have learned as we have experimented with plant based eating is that you do have to have enough food in order to actually feel full. Unfortunately, this was not the case at The Acorn which was a shame because it really was yummy and inspired food. I would happily pay more for a larger serving!

Julia V

Very long wait to get seated, but worth it. Restaurant is small and staff are friendly. Food is good and inventive, but a little over-priced if you ask me. Went here with a veggie friend who normally lives in a small town and the Acorn blew her socks off! I would probably only go again when entertaining veggie friends.

Дима Алферов

I am not a vegetarian but I still love coming here. Delicious food!

Parmeet Sidhu

THE best vegan dinner I ever tasted. Brassica was to die for. I will be back and I will bring friends.

Dan Steele

Not family friendly. Having made reservations over 2 weeks in advance, and after having driven over 30 minutes into the city, I called in to ask to have a highchair ready only to be informed they don't own any! They are clearly discriminatory towards young children, as an establishment of this calibre being open as long as they have should carry a minimum of 1 highchair.

Adventure D

Menu is really straight forward and approachable, with their mains titled “harvest” or “carrot” or “squash” or whatever, so you know what you’re going to get, as some may feel intimidated by vegan/veg dishes. The decor is really nice and subtle and the service was friendly. They had a good selection of wines and cocktails and they also had complimentary sparkling water, which is something I don’t often see!

m !

The food was great! Delicious flavor combinations and intriguing wine pairings. However, there were a few snafus that, while understandable, took away from the experience a bit.

Brigette Laird

Really yummy, classy food, that I had never tried before. Presentation ON POINT DAWG. but on the more expensive side. Worth it though for a treat. Dont have to feel bad about what youre eating because its all vegetarian.

Betty Butler

Best restaurant I've ever been too! If i were rich i would hire the chef to cook every meal for me every day!!! And I'm not even vegan. I would be if i had the kitchen staff living with me though.

Justine Binnema

We were early evening walk-ins and there was no problem finding us a table. Extensive wine list and interesting cocktails. Food was excellent with a good selection of dishes based on in-season plants and vegetables. Definitely recommended!

Derek Wong

Best vegan/vegetarian food I've had! Highly recommend. Had a 40 min wait but it was definitely worth it.

Colin Anderson

I'm not vegan or vegetarian but I heard about the Acorn from various sources in town and decided to head over for brunch. We ordered the artichoke on waffles and the root vegetable skillet. The artichoke on waffles was served with a mushroom gravy and as a fan of chicken and waffles this was perfect. The artichoke is delicately fried and the waffle is soft and tasty. The mushroom gravy was a perfect complement to it. The root vegetable skillet was done just right with an interesting and sumptuous combination of flavours which delight and entice the pallet. Would highly recommend even to non vegetarian/vegans because they know how to do vegetables to play up to their strengths rather than pretend its something its not.

Bryan

Very high end food, all vegetarian. Really a great place for date night, celebration dinner, parents in town, etc.

B D

Yes to the food, yes to the service, and yes to the fact the atmosphere. I love what this restaurant creates. Every dish I have tried there has been mouth-watering. Definitely recommend.

Diane Sutherland

We didn't know this place as we're not locals. Actually we're just spending a few days in Vancouver before heading home (Netherlands, Europe) after a camper tour in BC. We met with soms vegan friends an thought this would be a good spot. The food is great. A picture on the plate and it all tastes really nice. The waitresses are not that friendly, a bit too posh and fake...why? It' really not necessary. Just be yourself and be nice.

Daniel Harris

Love this place for brunch. My kids always look forward to the bread and butter and always order the eggs on toast. The food is flavorful and is one of our favorite vegetarian restaurants. Dishes also look beautiful.

The food here is always amazing. As meat eaters we love this place. The dishes are stylish and tasteful without having to pay premium prices.

Paulette Marchetti

I enjoyed the majority of the food here. Its funny though-- it is the drinks that stood out for me. Nice ambiance, well done plates and wonderful staff.

Fay Egan

Just had an amazing meal tonight! Food exceptional, service exceptional, and the new summer menu is a hit! Will be back soon to try more of the yummy new menu items.

I’ll start by saying the waitressing staff are LOVELY and are doing a good job! We were really excited to try this restaurant as our friends recommended it. The …

Not cheap and small portions, but the food is phenomenal and beautifully presented

Mani Ahmadi

Been there many times. Hands down one of the finest vegetarian restaurant in town. Never disappointed

betty matsutaki

Great atmosphere and staff but just isn't worth the money. I appreciate fine foods and manipulating palates, but the dessert (on the menu at the time) fell flat.

Steven Groves

Beautiful interior and wonderful staff are supported by an excellent kitchen team. The food is superlative and the service was phenomenal.

Felisa Zhang

Amazing. The only thing I can fault this place on is the uncomfortable seating. Other than that delicious food, top notch service in a nice setting. Highly recommend

Charlene Dittrich

The Acorn is delicious - simple food made with real ingredients. I would highly recommend for their vegetarian options. However, the portions are small (and relatively expensive) so not great if you need a lot of sustenance. But the atmosphere is lovely and servers are friendly - give it a go!

Ishu Kapoor

Best vegetarian restaurant I've ever been to in my life. That's all that needs to be said. Go there.

Genevieve Ling

long time admirer, first time diner. surprisingly busy for a wed night but after tasting the food, could see why! had the halloumi dish and it was delish, reminiscent of fish and chips. the beer battered halloumi wasn't greasy at all, and im usually adverse to fried foods. the batter was thin and crisp. the zucchini potato pancake had a pleasing texture, but maybe could use a touch more salt. the smashed peas were great and having it all together with the mint yogurt-- really a thoughtful dish. also ordered a rhubie tuesday, the selection of cocktails was pretty great too. service was friendly and personal. overall, would glad to be back!

Brian Dubois

Yummy food, but very small. I could have eaten 3 of the main courses. Thought the prices were reasonable until I saw the sizes. Waitresses were really kind, but it felt like they were understaffed.

roger dur

I thought I would be wowed but my breakfast dish that I ordered was apparently the special and the mustard greens on the piece of toast were overly salty. The egg and hollandaise sauce were quite good. The complimentary foccocia bread with whipped lavender butter was really good though and their coffee was nice and strong which I liked. I don't think I would come back to be honest.

Dimitri Sokolov

Waited for 45 minutes for a table as they do not take reservations. portions were TINY and very pricy, left after 15 minutes because we were done our meal. There was no space between the tables, nearly knocked the plates off on the table next to us. Pretentious, pretentious pretentious!

Victor Jianto

Yannick....!! You’re a superstar! (So knowledgeable and articulate.) What an amazing experience!! Not to mention the food! The staff remembered and attended to every little detail I gave in the online reservation. From the special occasion, seating preference to the fact that my guest LOVES mushrooms and is graduating from medical school.

Richard James O'Grady

Acorn gave me back some hope for our species' survival. If food artists can conjure plates like these from purely vegetarian ingredients, it becomes an obvious and joyous decision to eat like this. The menu choices are inventive and surprising, and - of course - delicious. The plating and service is amazing, while remaining unpretentious and kind. If only I could give them more stars.

Nazanin M

Fancy vegetarian food, but the portion sizes were large enough to make you feel like you're getting a good value. Drinks were strong but still very tasty.

Melissa Cosentino

Nice delicious food. Vegetarian fare. The chef's menu is pretty good too

Oh. My. Word. The carrot appy thing. The harissa not-fish and chips. So amazing I never wanted to stop eating. Also, I had never been here before and wasn't familiar with this street but the huge acorn definitely showed the way!

Neill McCaffrey

Pretty good. Not my usual type of place to go but I found the food rather tasty and would go again if my vegetarian friends asked.

Jennifer Ivry (Jenn)

Very non-intimidating vibe, and delicious vegetarian food! The halloumi entree was amazing!

Top notch, friendly service. Cozy and intimate setting. Surprising and unique flavour and foid combinations. Highly recommended to vegan and vegetarian foodies!

Great for Vegetarian, Vegans, Gluten Free people. Could be much more tasty. I was a bit (only a tiny) disappointed by how "rough/basic" the flavors were. But I have to admit...I am a meat lover :P

Jordan M

Acorn was crowded just after opening so we ate at the bar, and things only got more backed up as our meal progressed and the crowd bumped up against our seats, and the staff, though helpful, seemed overloaded. Fortunately the quality of the food more than made up for these minor foibles, I was particularly impressed by the flavour they managed to eke out of their mushroom main, and by the richness of their vegan terrine. Restaurants of this calibre make me remember how much I love vegetarian food.

Jon Weber

Delicious food, very helpful staff, good prices! I recommend!

Acorn is not every one’s cup of tea . First because it is a vegetarian restaurant n then its artistic and creative dishes doesn’t match all taste buds. Ingredients used in their dishes are not common to be found, not even at any other vegetarian restaurant n i guess thats why they are unique, winning awards n accolades. Congratulations to them n just FYI yelpers “the arbor” restaurant is under same management with little casual ambience. After covid , only three course menu worth $49 is offered which gives each of you option to choose from first course , second course n third course which is pretty much the same thing as starters , main courae n desert. Its fascinating to read the ingredients in every dish n then tasting them could be surprisingly unique experience. Its more of european touch but tasty and refreshing. If i go by the details of dishes , i wont do justice elaborating them so i would just name what we ate there . “Shitake” which just melted in the mouth, “cucumber” which had nothing to do with cucumbers. “Allium” omg charred onions and charred leek was amazing. “Legume” was pasta in peas n organic parmesan which was okey. Pineappleweed was our desert for evening which was not sweet rather sour but again nothing to do with pineapple. We later learned from our server that its a herb. From my experience i can just suggest that its not ur regular every day vegetarian place but at the same time its once in a life time experience to witness such a skill in culinary art. All in all , they have amazing choice of ingredients, bursting flavours, crafted to perfection n served methodological way. Dont get misguided by the small portions , they still make you feel full.

I was a bit apprehensive about coming here because I’m not a vegetarian and I saw some reviews of people leaving hungry but I’m glad I still tried it. The flavours were great and the service was excellent as well. The menu is seasonal so perhaps because the winter vegetables are more hearty, I was full by the time I left.

Kaye

We ordered the "Harvest", that they called their 'special' for the day! Not sure how special it was as the morel mushrooms were extremely sandy. The potatoes tasted fine and the beets were salty. I thought it was just me complaining about the Morels until my friend who ordered the same dish found it extremely sandy. So I ordered the Halloumi which was a great dish but super heavy and oily (more like a vegetarian take on fish and chips – delicious but very heavy). Service was not the best as the servers were extremely snobbish and rude to us. They served us one of the cocktails out of a tiny unique bottle and while my husband just asked if we could purchase just the bottle from the restaurant the server lashed out assuming we wanted to purchase the alcohol with it and said ’It is illegal to do that’ loud enough for all the other customers in the restaurant to hear. Not going back here again! And for those who order the ‘Harvest’ be ready to taste some sand in your food!

Rodrigo “El totopo” Orozco

Inventive and flavorful vegetarian food. Even if you're not a vegetarian, you should give this place a go. You won't miss meat.

kaleb gasconne

my girlfriend went there with two other gals ....they got their food ...took a few bites and ten noticed mouse droppings in the salad ...on the lettuce ...they tried to return it and still had to pay ...that night alll three girls were super sick all weekend ...DO NOT Eat here

Michelle Alain

Amazing locally sourced dishes with a rotating seasonal menu. All items are vegetarian but don't let that scare you off-even the most stubborn meat eaters I've been with have enjoyed it! Small space and they don't take reservations so be prepared to wait a bit and enjoy a walk around the local community.

Allan Fong

Original, delicious, healthy food. The price is worth it.

Kevin Mitchell

Worse customer services in town so we do not recommend it to anyone. The sitting area looked very uncomfortable. We had a party of 7 and they made us standing there for close to one hour for our table, simple because they have a “policy” of giving a table only when the entire party show up in person. We had 5 out of 7 arrived finally and they still didn’t allow us to sit down. When we decided to leave, one of the waitresses even tried to argue with us about their policy. Don’t know why they have such a high rating on google for such a rude attitude. Maybe some of them are just fake reviews...

Mollie Gettlin

Very inventive and creative food, an exaltation of vegetables without cheap tricks like leaning on grains. A very eye-opening experience, go with the chef's tasting menu for the full effect.

Susan Haslam

Great service and tasty, well cooked food. Limited options (just 8 for brunch).

J CM

Very nice atmosphere, but a bit crowded and noisy. Always lineup. They don't take reservation. The dishes in this vegetarian restaurant are unique and tasty. Service very good. Worth trying.

Christian Whiticar

Amazing. Time to turn vegetarian. Habs down best vegetarian restaurant in Vancouver. Amazing mushroom dishes... Loved it. Thank you for the special food.

Been wanting to try this for sometime now and was finally able to make it. The food did not disappoint and the presentation was great. Friendly staff as well! :)

Not for a large group, stay away on Tuesday. I had read about Acorn and my sister had a really good meal there, so I made a reservation for a family event. We were going to be 10 people - the only table they use for large parties would not have seated that many people comfortably, so I am glad some people backed out. We went on a Tuesday so I guess food was not up to par. First of all, starters are meant to be shared. We didn't know this so we almost all ordered the same thing and ended up with large portions of dishes that were meant to be consumed in small amounts, like big plates of broccoli florets. As a vegetarian, most of the dishes - broccoli and peas and carrot starters, zucchini pasta, gratin, harvest for mains - were disappointing - underseasoned, super salty, undercooked, or just very poorly executed 1970s vegetarian staples like roasted broccoli or veggie gratin. The haloumi balls, however, were very good and thankfully that is what most people ordered. Our server was amazingly patient and very accommodating when we made some complaints, but whoever was in the kitchen was just not up to the task. I was a little embarrassed because I made a big effort to get my non-vegetarian family out to a vegetarian restaurant for our celebration.

The service and decor are great and it is amazing to have so many vegan options. Sadly the menu seems incredibly pretentious and overpriced and the quality/taste is hit and miss. It is a very small place with a large crowd most nights and the lack of reservation options is very strange, in stead they use an in person only waiting list which can get really long.

Jesse Raven

Amazing. Time to turn vegetarian. Habs down best vegetarian restaurant in Vancouver. Amazing mushroom dishes... Loved it. Thank you for the special food

Some of the best food and service I've had in a while. My friend and I ordered the chefs menu which was AMAZING, and not once did I have to touch the wine bottle, my glass was never empty. Wish I remembered my servers name because she was brillient even when I was being high maintenance about my stemed wine glass haha. 10/10 will go back

Saskia Broekman

Outstanding service and food. Exceeded my expectations for vegan cuisine.

Went here for my birthday brunch , was not disappointed in the food but weird that they don't have espresso. Would be five stars easily if they did.

Zaahira Lalani

The food here is amazing, I did not miss the meat at all even though I am an avid meat eater. Almost everything can be made gluten free or vegan. Definitely will come back!

Delicious. Menu changes with the seasons, but staple favorites stay on the menu. Arguably the best vegetarian restaurant in the city.

Awesome staff and great service, vegetarian brunch are great. But it is a bit heavy taste and may be too salty for some people. I like it but both of us drank tons of water.

The Acorn is a truly great dining experience. It was voted the "Best Vegan-friendly restaurant in the world" by Big 7 Travel for a reason. While here you will be served by world class staff who make you feel like your enjoying something special while simultaneously making you feeling like you are comfortable at home.

Jas San

Really amazing flavours. Wish I could afford to eat here more

Rob Mckenzie

Lovely staff, nice decor, well presented food, very tasty. Even though seated at the bar I had a lovely night out with my partner. If you are going to go to the Acorn go all out with appies, main and desert as the portion sizes may be smaller than expected. Price is higher than your average vegan/veggie restaurant.

B

Absolutely incredible if your looking for a high end vegan/vegetarian dining experience. Very hard to find and this place Absolutely nails it with all the flavors and combinations.

S Kim

Amazing overall culinary experience. Every dish had a unique flavor and was delicious.

Overall it was very disappointing and unsatisfactory. We've dined at fining dining many times especially hotel fine dining, but this place, together with service and value, is not worth the price at all. We expected so much more with positive reviews. I would not recommend the chef tasting menu either. It's not worth the money. I had certain level of expectation for the 'fine dining price'. Went for parents' anniversary, (which we noted in advance when they sent email to fill out) but I regret we chose this place. Honestly every dish were mere appetizer style and portion. After trying the dishes myself, I'm quite surprised by positive reviews and even more surprised by some of the chef tasting menu pictures here, since they look and taste so different. Really didn't want to compare, but we had incomparably much better service and value at The Botanist in Fairmont for the same price, where we also celebrated anniversary. They even had treated us with heart warming complimentary dessert for anniversary. Here, nothing but weird tasting so called sherbet was the only dessert, which was 'part of the tasting menu' that my mom and I couldn't even finish (we are not picky eaters, but even when compared to pics on reviews here, this seems far inferior, especially when we have mentioned the occasion). I really don't see the point why Acorn even asks what type of occasion. We provided this personal information for nothing. Especially reading a review below who left that they were offered 'a few drinks on the house for their anniversary' or seeing pics of well plated desserts on here, I now even come to think whether this could be a discrimination for the same anniversary occasion. I would not recommend nor go back. Also one lady server was kind, but the other one was rude, she would explain the dishes in impolite manner and walk away in angry face. I really regret that I even left tips. Also the table right beside us was so close that I had to be careful to not touch the person when getting up, and to make it worse the six people who sat there were talking so loud the whole time without putting masks on even when they were done eating so long ago. I understand that we shouldn't dine out if we are worried, but there is a thing called manners. If you are done eating but if you're going to chat for another hour, put your masks on for others. Or at least the restaurant should tell people to do so. I'm sure their spit flew everywhere. My parents were so worried that they had to put masks on between the dishes and left the restaurant with my toddler before me (I had to stay to pay). What a day to celebrate anniversary.

Tony Homol

I'm not a vegetarian but my wife is so we come here on occasion. The food is so good and filling.

A Witrip

Nice, intricate vegetarian food. Carefully thought out menu with lots of different dishes you wouldn't find elsewhere. Upscale place. Small but we managed to get a table without a reservation

Denise Warrington

All I can say is wow. The staff were all knowledgeable, cognizant of my dietary restrictions and absolutely sweet. The food was all beyond what I could have imagined. It was all delicious, including the amazing drinks! I definitely recommend this place, and I will definitely be back!

Karo A.

Service was very pleasant and attentive. But yikes I am so thirsty after that meal. My heart is racing. Way too much salt and sugar. My friends recommended this place but I'm questioning their judgement.

Carla Corbett Schiller

Beautiful presentation, better taste. Comparable quality/taste to Heirloom. Their cocktails are some of the most interesting I've come across in Vancouver. Well worth braving the lineups and lack of reservation system.

B H

This was , from a chefs perspective, by far, the best breakfast I have had in my entire life. No questions asked, hands are tied, I had the artichoke and waffles. Chef Absolutely crushed this dish. My gf had the frittata which was perfect as well. Proper mimosas with a lil dehydrated orange slice and real juice. Cant wait for my next visit, see you next weekend acorn. Ps. Staff was super charismatic and good at what they do. #chef #approved

Coleson Luterbach

What a disappointment. Food took FOREVER. Service was poor. Menu was overcomplicated. Most importantly, the food itself was a let down. Definitely not worth the price they are charging. Don't waste your money!

Fiona Zhang

Great place, good service. Food was good. Desert was delicious. Good whiskey on the menu. The only thing that annoys me nowadays about restaurants is they wait until your whole party arrives for the reservation before they seat you.

Tyson Bulmer

My favorite place for brunch. Presentation is beautiful. Food is innovative and delicious.

Karen Henrich

Such an amazing restaurant, the food is always stunning and we'll plated. As a none vegetarian, this is one of my favorite restaurants in the city.

Zachariah

Vegan/GF/Raw food. Creative seasonal menu. Lineups can be long for big parties so come early. I recommend it but only if you can tolerate the wait. The dishes are fabulous in terms of different textures and cooking styles for food. However, some of the dishes don't come together quite well. The fried cheese dish needed more acid to cut through the dish. More tartness in the yogurt required. The pasta dish felt too boring for the palette after five bites. I preferred the appetizers the best. I didn't need to try the $12 ice cream that is vegan.

Amardeep Singh (Amar)

A good vegan/vegetarian/raw restaurant. Seating is limited and their can be a wait. Parking is located on the street (paid) or residential parking in the non-permit zones. They have a vegan cheesecake which was pretty good. The cocktails are tasty.

Renee Andrews

Great quality and tasty food with great service. Good cocktail list too.

Alex Dolotov

Great service, incredibly creative and tasty tasty vegetarian food. Although I'm not a vegetarian, I would highly recommend The Acorn experience.

E. D. Blackwell

Uncomfortable chairs and the waitress was rude. The food was only ok. It looked pretty, but the taste was mediocre. We expected more considering the price. They also don't have a single high chair, so not family friendly.

Dee Larsen

Wonderful to have a completely vegetarian place for a nicer dinner. Amazing food, for very reasonable prices. Nice ambiance with attentive service. I only wish they took reservations, for those people coming from further away as there are not many tables. Would recommend trying their cocktails!

Mel Maje

i have been wanting to come here and eat for the longest time, finally had the chance and it did not disappoint! will be back to try the dinner menu summer squash tart / skillet brunch

I went here back in March for my birthday with my best-friend. I can honestly say that this was one of the best restaurant experiences I have had. The Acorn was a little crowded, but they sat us at a super cute table. I was freezing because we had walked in the rain, so I really wanted a hot beverage with liquor. They didn’t have anything on the menu, but the bartender made something for me that was pretty good! Our server was so sweet & attentive. The meal was amazing! One of the best meals I’ve ever had! The dessert was also so good. I was blown away by the food! Because it was my birthday & we drove all the way out there, we just wanted to sit & relax. I asked the server if it was okay to hang out for a bit & she was so sweet & said that we could just enjoy ourselves. I cannot wait to go back to The Acorn again! It’s definitely upscale, so I can’t go very often, but I look forward to having another meal there. Thanks to The Acorn for making my birthday so special!

Saradha Subramani

Food was good but the serving sizes...eat before you go!

Diana L.

Fantastic! 5 stars to Tiago, with excellent service. The food was incredible, beautiful presentation of the dishes, no rush with timing or the bill (I don’t like when the server just wants you to eat, pay and leave), light music, everything was perfect.

Jastina henderson

My favourite date restaurant. Super yummy healthy food, romantic vibe, creative cocktails and mocktails.

Jack Chi-Chao Liu

An interesting place with variety of vegan food. Nice and cozy restaurant with nice selection of food. Nice brunch cocktail deal to brighten up the afternoon with kick. Good place for a conversation; if wanting to come with a group then its recommended to make a reservation a head of time

Lena Y

Came here and ordered the chefs table for 47 per person for two people. The chefs choice was two different appy, main, and dessert at a slightly smaller size plate size (i thought when looking at the other tables). Each dish had amazing presentation and our server was very patient when discribing every element of the dish. I really appreciate how this restaurant doesn't try to make vegetarian alternatives to meat dishes such as vegan burgers. Instead, it embraces and creates dishes that highlight the vegetables. Only small issue with this place is that they don't take phone reservations for small parties so the lines can get quite long. Parking is also a bit of an issue since there are lots of shops around, street parking might be busy. I had to park in a residential area 3 blocks away.

M Liew

Food-wise, this is the probably the best vegetarian place in the city, however, I am not a fan of the atmosphere of the restaurant. I felt too cramped and never could really relax with servers whizzing by, often too close to the table.
