This Restaurant is classified in the category of Lebanese restaurant.
Excellent food. Nice ambience. Cozy.
It was just okay. Just not my preference
Not really authentic but still very good food.
Very good food and huge portions. Staff is very friendly as well.
Amazing vibe and staff!
Very simple food. Over priced. Good ok. Can make much better at home. Not very creative or flavourful. Deserts are alright however.
Typically Nuba. Overpriced for what it is. Feels healthy. Service is kind. I don't like coming here but my female friend loves it so... No choice
Great food and hospitality!
I am not sure how this is so highly rated but the place is not what it seems on the reviews. Yes it’s nice and clean downtown location but the service and food are just okay... that’s however my opinion. Very loud music in a very small place, tables are very small and won’t fit everything for 2 people. Order a soup to start with which was served almost cold, didn’t want to send it back. The food is very basic not a lot taste to it. Service just okay...
Nuba is my first go-to for lunch in Yaletown. The food here is delicious, with local/ethically sourced meat and plenty of vegetarian options as well. The Najib's Special Plate (a fried cauliflower dish) is my personal favorite. It's so good, I have a hard time ordering anything else! Their current location is pretty small so I usually order my lunch to go, but they're moving to a larger corner building just a few blocks away soon. Can't wait!
Nice and cozy place. Never disappointed on their meal and hospitality. La feast is pretty satisfying and delicious. Must try place.
Not impressed this time. Staff are unsure and need training. Hope next time is better.
Great saffron chicken! Super nice hostess!
I go here with my dad pretty often to catch up as we both love the food but it’s probably the loudest location with the most awkward seating. The food is 100% 5/5 stars but the atmosphere is just ok. It’s pretty to look at though. We’ve learned the good slow times to go or we just go to the Gastown location.
Food (especially the hummus) and service was great!
The restaurant is small, quaint, our waiter was friendly, however we encountered a rude staff member, she cleared our plates while we were eating off of them, no smile, nothing. The food was ok, nothing special, we ordered the so called crispy cauliflower which was mushy. Chickpea Restaurant on Main st. Is a much better choice than Nuba
The lentil, avocado and grilled onions wrap was divine! Falafel plate was tasty too.
Atmosphere and food is amazing. Portion sizes may be a bit small but the taste is worth it
Never have I enjoyed cauliflower as much as from here.
Went here cause I heard some good things, got take out and while the staff were extremely curtous the food just isn't good bang for your book. Rice was glubey and chicken was bland along with the whole meal being cold! Which makes me think there aint any point going back
Very delicious food and can easily accommodate gluten free. I told them I was celiac and they immediately understood, even placing the pita bread for the rest of my party as far from my food as possible. They also offer alternatives to pita bread such as romaine for dipping into the hummus if you want!
Treated very well, food was very tasty and on budget, they really helped with the allergies that my daughter has nice people
????????????
Tasty food with good prices. The cauliflower was aaammmmaaazzzzing.
Great food and service! Always very accommodating for gluten free options
Food was so good! Probably the best chicken meal I’ve ever had.
Excellent meal and ambience - photos of eaten dishes are better ;) lol
Dinner
Very good food.
Excellent food!
Great service, great food!
The food and service is good, nice patio in summer
This place is amazing!!! The food is so favourful and delicious. Love the everything from the fresh juices to the various platters. This is a must eat here destination!
Meal type
Got a lamp plate, it's almost tasteless, not for me
Really had a great time here.. overall a great experience
Amazing ginger drink that you can customize. Great Lebanese food, love the spicy cauliflower and the falafel
Best for vegetarian!!!
Tasty, quick service, creative plating and cozy atmosphere.
Dine in
Very nice food
Loved it, great food, wanna visit again
Good Lebanese restaurant in Yaletown. New location is bigger.
Fantastic service & food! However, my favourite thing at Nuba Yaletown is their delicious dark rum old fashion, it is an absolute must try next time you visit!
Amazing! I was so busy enjoying my meal that I completely forgot to take a picture of it to show here. The food was delicious! I wish I had two stomachs, lol. The best place I've been in Vancouver. I'm vegetarian, btw, and very picky, I confess. Even though, I was very pleased. Everything was fresh and tasty, and the environment was beautiful, very clean, with lots of plants and colorful. I'll be back, for sure ????????
Delicious... Saffron chicken was excellent!
Exceptionally good food in a supremely relaxing location. If you are looking for THE mediterranean place to eat, this is it.
Love the cauliflower!
We just had a very delicious lunch there but the service was terrible. The waitress had a pretty unfriendly attitude borderline rude. And we were going to tip with cash until we saw her complaining with her coworker with our ticket in hand... really liked the food... but wont be coming back.
Awesome Food and Service
Been going to the other locations for years, even had private celebrations at the one in kits because we liked the food there so much, but this location's service was so bad it really spoiled our appetite. We weren't sure who our server was since we didn't really receive much attention, so after trying and failing to get the attention of the woman who brought us some of our food (because she was too busy flirting with the cook) a woman who looked like the manager asked us if everything was ok, and we made the huge mistake of letting her know about the missing pita, sauce and bad service.. she saw the woman who was still flirting with the cook, but came up with the excuse of them recently starting to have brunch available in the menu and that's why the service was so delayed. A minute later, she comes with the pita and sauces and wants to clarify to us how the pita is extra and does not come with the brunch items.. my friend and I pointed at my plate which was a lunch item, but at this point it was obvious that her customer services skills were nonexistent, as she tried to justify to us her previous clarification about brunch .........and then she followed to go talk to the other woman by the kitchen window (the flirty window, less than 10 feet away from our table) who gave us dirty stares throughout the rest of our lunch. It is well known that customer service in Vancouver leaves much to be desired, but a restaurant is a business and all its employees should understand that when patrons choose to come spend their money at your establishment all they expect is a fair exchange of food and decent service. Anyways, there's a few other things that I'm leaving out, but this experience didn't even deserve one star.
Excellent service and delicious food. The wine suggested by the hostess was extremely refreshing in this hot weather and it also paired nicely with the food we ordered. They were all very delicious that I barely had anytime to take photos of. We ordered the Man’oushe, which was a Lebanese-styled pizza, and it’s just simply amazing. We tried their pistachio financier for dessert even thou we were mostly full - but still wanted to try more - and it was delicious! Pairing pistachio cake with raspberry jam and rose water-flavoured whipped cream is simply heavenly!
We used to going to nuba yaletown for dinner frequently. Food is good but service givers are careless. We have been sitting at the patio yesterday. During the dinner I've started choking of water suddenly and could not breathe like 15 seconds. The situation was very obvious that I was coughing to take it out loudly. No waitress has cared about it. This time I was in this place with my husband and he helped me. I could have passed out quickly if I was alone. This was definitely our last visit. They don't care about you.
Attentive staff. Healthy, tasty food served in good portions.
Good food lots of vegan options
I visited Nuba in Yaletown for lunch in September 2021 during a trip to Vancouver. I liked that they had vegan and gluten-free options on the menu. I ordered the Falafel plate which came with a salad, falafel with tahini sauce, hummus, and roasted potatoes or rice. I was the first person at the restaurant when they opened and was one of the first to order, however, my order must have been forgotten as I waited nearly 45 minutes and seeing everyone else get their orders. After asking the server, it seemed that my order had been given to someone else and it arrived shortly after. Unfortunately, it was missing ingredients which should have been included on the platter like the rice and pickled onions. The meal still tasted delicious and the fresh hummus and falafel balls were amazing. The server was very apologetic and gave me 50% off my meal and included some dessert samples, which was very nice. I think it was a simple misunderstanding and would definitely eat here again in the future. There was a nice sidewalk patio that was nicely shaded, as well as, indoor seating.
Lovely service and food, but I felt it was a bit pricey for what you get. They have one of the best patios for people watching. I also loved the halloumi appetizer and Najibb’s special. The falafel was also nice and crunchy.
Najib special cauliflower is my favorite
Have been to other Nubas, the portions here were perceptibly smaller.
Best breakfast place hands down. Fresh and taste home cooked. Coffee is on point and will have you wanting to come back for more
Good for vegetarian food, the variety of food felt satisfying! Deep fried potatoes had some pieces that were a bit too hard, over fried, as is the deep fried cauliflower, otherwise the platter had a good balance of flavours. They use organic chickpeas for hummus! Would recommend and come again
Location is amazing, venue has tons of natural light and great air flow (nothing compared to their location in Gastown). Food is just delicious. Lots of vegan options and portions are generous! Service is ok, nothing outstanding but servers are polite and fairly quick. Music is too loud for my liking, but I understand that I am one of those weird people that like talking instead of checking my phone during lunch/dinner!
Very healthy food served with a smile. Love to dine here as people are friendly and the food is freshly made. It's a bit expensive but it's well worth the service and food.
Meal type
Great restaurant with very tasty and diverse vegan options even though it's not a full vegan menu. I've been to multiple Nuba locations and all have been consistently good with friendly and speedy service.
The food and service was fantastic. We went for lunch and made sure to get there early as this location does not take reservations.
Service
Good Food. Nice ambience. Good people and services. Try the chicken with humus avocado and pita bread
Service
GOOD food with smiling service
Great food! Cauliflower is the bomb!!
Delicious food in a cozy atmosphere. Opt to dine in to get the fill Nuba experience!
Great Lebanese cuisine and tasty food with fresh ingredients. Highly recommend them
Food is good, service lacks attention. Server were more concerned with table cleaning rather in asking their guest about food or anything.
I asked the waiter for no sauce but I still got it all over my food
We ordered the falafel and the beef sirloin kabab. Both were excellent. We also ordered the coconut rice pudding which was great as well. I would visit again next time I am in Vancouver. :)
Small location that caters more to takeout than sit down dining
Fast service, delicious food, BUT they pulled a fast one on me. Lunch menu prices and actual prices were not the same. a ~$9.5 falafel dish on the lunch menu appears as ~$13.50 on the receipt (pre tax)...the reason: 'new pricing'. Wouldn't have changed my decision to eat there, but felt shady after the fact!
Excellent food. Lots of options including vegan and vegetarian. Great service.
Good tasty food. A little disappointed with portion sizes for the amount we paid, although the focus I assume is predominately on quality. Nonetheless great outdoor seating, perfect for these summer months and friendly staff.
Great food. Service is slow so take your time and enjoy
Their food is ok and took long time to come. prices are high compared to the other middle eastern restaurants at downtown.
Excellent food and service. Great value
Great food!
The food is amazing. We went during Dine Out Vancouver and really got our monies worth. There are not a lot of tables so you need to arrive early if you want a table Service was a little slow. We went during Happy hour so we could get a table as and stayed for dinner. They were trying to serve people and set up for dinner. The reason I gave 3 stars was they made us move before we ordered our dinner as they had reservations for somebody. They moved us from the end to the middle which we fiund very odd.
A solid spot for lunch in Yaletown. I ordered the Beef Sirloin Kebab Lunch Plate (GF). Grilled grass fed Halal sirloin skewers grilled to medium rare & drizzled in tahini. For $20.95, the lunch plate was served with hummus, salad, and pickled cabbage. I also opted for half organic brown rice and half roasted potatoes. Also served with tahini & hot sauce with pita on the side. Very filling meal and tasted fresh.
I had a wonderful meal here on Saturday July 31. Service was excellent the food was fantastic. All of us were vegetarian and they had a great variety of the vegetarian options. One of the best desserts I have ever had (Znoud El Sit). Would definitely recommend.
I give this 2 stars simply because it is nowhere close to representing Lebanese food. I grew up in Dubai, where you would find Lebanese restaurants in every corner, and the food at Nuba is western food trying and failing to mimic Lebanese food. Not only is the food inauthentic, but unnecessarily overpriced given the portion sizes. I did not give this place a 1 star due to the good service and the decent flavor of the food, however, I still do not recommend; you're better off going to a mr shawarmah cart and having a more authentic middle eastern food experience.
This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. Great little place. Fantastic Lebanese food. Would definitely recommend
Decent wait. Delicious food. Friendly staff.
Decided to try this place since I'm working in the area. The food is amazing! Service was just as good! I had the beef skewers and yellow pepper soup. Didnt think it was gonna be tasty but got mind blasted with flavor with a kick. Definitely recommend this place and will be back myself.
Delicious food, good sized portions. Loved the hummus! Service was mediocre.
Food was delicious. The falafels were the best I've had anywhere
Awesome food. Great options for plant based diets too
Amazingly delicious food, halal meat. Lentil soup ????
Fantastic food and service. Great stop before a night out.
Busy on a Monday night but now I know why - everything here was delicious! Four of us shared the vegetarian feast for two, cauliflower and smoked beet dip. The service was fast and the restaurant has a warm ambiance to it. Will definitely be back :)
Yummy!
Delicious food in lovely, buzzy setting. The ginger beer is a standout.
Have to admit my favourite time to go to Nuba is lunch time. All their food is amazing but their lunch plates have a little bit of everything ????
Nice atmosphere and good food. I would recommend this restaurant.
Review solely based on service management. Arrived at Nuba 7:15PM and was told to wait half an hour for 3 people (server will text us when table is ready). After 30 mins gone by, the server comes out the restaurant informing us they are not seating tables anymore for the rest of the night without sending us a text. She apologized in an uncaring manner and went back to work… Shouldn’t they know beforehand or have an idea how many tables they can still seat prior to closing? Super disappointing, unprofessional, and poor business management. If they can’t manage a busy night of guests coming in, then don’t agree to seat us in the beginning. No one deserves to be treated like that as a guest.
The food is good but there is always a lot of people, and it is a loud place!
Lebanese food with a twist that you may or may not like..if you know what original lebanese food is like, you might be disappointed. Though I'm not taking anything away from Nuba. It is original! As with most restaurants in that area, its quite small and you may have to wait for an hour+ There is a park across the street where we stayed around until we went in. Staff were friendly though very busy..also different branches dont serve the exact same menu. So check before you go. Also not all branches accept reservations.
Never thought I would walk into Nuba for healthy food. Came for brunch and now I have a change of mind.
Loved the Lamb Kafta plate (the hummus was particularly good). I'll definitely be coming back here.
Overpriced and cramped attentive staff but not much of food choice choice, going back for foodie like me is not going to happen!
We had reservations and ordered our appys to start. No one came back to ask us if we want anything else til 30 mins after we finished eating them. Then when we told the server we wanted to order our mains she seemed like she did jot want us to order probably because they close at 9… but if she had came back to check on us earlier we could have got out order in sooner. I had the lamb chops and I could not cut into them i had to ask for a steak knife and still did not cut. My appy was the chicken and it was dry. Everyones food was like a 5/10. I would not come back here. Only gave 2 stars bc the hummus and rice was good lol
The lentils and cauliflower were amazing! Definitely coming back, service was also great. Great vegetarian options which is a plus since I don’t eat meat. 5/5
Food alright but service was almost non-existent. Need to improve service. I have received better service at a fast food place.
Recently renovated to be bright and spacious. More of a casual feel than the Gastown location, great for a healthy, quick meal.
The beef flatiron is amazing. Melt in your mouth tender.
Good portions and delicious food whether it be vegan, vegetarian or meat. Decently priced.
Fastest service I've had in a long time. Genuinely took about 5 mins to order and receive my food. Really nice place and decent cuisine.
Zaatar and great Lebanese coffee!!!
Great food, friendly service, reasonable prices. The venue remains pleasant and enjoyable despite the COVID restrictions.
Good service and great food! Le Grand Feast was a good size for two of us.
Pretty good food. Loved their falafel platter. Decent quantity and pretty good taste.
Amazingly great food. I was not expecting much but was very pleasantly surprised. Their lamb is awesome! The salads are very filling and tasty.
Don't order take out if you live close to any of their locations...4th time in a row "COLD". Try phoning the Yaletown location, good luck...mail box is full and they DON'T answer. Order somewhere else, save yourself the grief.
I was here this evening for happy hour and the service was awful. The restaurant was empty and yet our server never checked on us (another server was the one to fill up our water). When I tried to flag her down to order more food, she ignored me. Never going back to that location.
Really good food. We had "Le Feast" for 2 and it was more than enough.
Got a chance to stop in for dinner with my daughter, her recommendation, and had a great time. Some new taste experiences that I will need to expand upon. Highly recommended.
Really great place for food outside.
The delicious food was served by the friendly staff
The meal was okay. Lamb was pretty fatty and charcoal on the exterior. Pickled cabbage was really good. Service amazing. Hummus was interesting but pretty good. Cider was outstanding!
Good hummus
Good clean food...portions are small...the place is a bit cramped...but it is easily accessible and great to move in and out of quickly. Serving staff is awesome...
Unfortunately only the meze menu is available for takeaway, but the meze we had was good, though nothing spectacular.
I really liked the food. My favorite was lunch. It was busy and noisy at dinner time, and the menu seemed different.
My cousin and I blind tasted a couple wines, and turns out our fave bottle was from Lebanon— the perfect pairing to the amazing Lebanese food served!
Do yourself a favour and visit Nuba. There’s no way you’ll miss home having the “Le Feast” dinner. Absolutely amazing :)
Great food, very small portions, very overpiced for what it is.
Food was incredible (get their saffron chicken...its delicious) and we were lucky to get in right away. The decor and ambiance of this location is lovely and we had a great evening out. Thanks!
I love nubaaaaaaaa so delicious and fast
Beautiful space. Food is delicious as usual.
Less busy than Gastown and higher accuracy of orders. Staff are less overwhelmed and short handed it seems (forget less about small things). Same amazing quality of food and great menu options for Vegan/Vegetarians.
Great sharables and atmosphere.
Food a bit bland but decent prices. Restaurant was super cute though. I tried an americano and it was really not good. Too watery.
I absolutely loved my food but left a bit hungry
The food is delicious, the staff is really nice and helpful. The restaurant's policies are great, like when they pack up the left overs they give you fresh bread, not the left over bread on the plate. Very impressed all around.
How many nuba's must one have before Cafe?
Tasty hummus and nourishing Mediterranean fare. Yum!
I tried the dine out menu here are was impressed!
The food was just ok, nothing too special... I have had better... The ambiance was nice but too cramped...
Expectations were high due to great yelp reviews. We were disappointed and felt let down by fellow reviewers. The fried cauliflower appetizer everyone craved about was nothing but exactly that. Deep fried cauliflower with salt and lemon. Portions are not as big as other Mediterranean places for the price. Hole in wall feel with self service does not justify the prices.
Good atmosphere, location and food. Service could be better though
Fresh and healthy food! Always friendly staff!
Delicious food and nice staff. The portions are small and so is the seating space.
Duba Duba Dill Duba...........I love Nuba
Always amazing quality of food and service
Great food, location & service. Lots of vegetarian & vegan options. Try "Le Feast"!
Splendid food and great service! We enjoyed a lovely vegetarian meal here for a good price.
Me and my husband are Mediterranean food lovers and we have been looking for a place to find some good falafel in town and so glad I found this place!! We mostly have been taking out but the cauliflower and falafel in this place are just so flavorful.. would definitely recommend getting one of the entrees, very filling and tasty
Love the food here. The tables in the middle are a bit cramped.
I have been here several time and the flavors never disappoint, unlike out federal government!!
Their food is always good, and of course service is great. This location is much bigger than the tiny one they had before, and there's an outdoor seating area as well. A good range of dishes but not so many that it's overwhelming. Lots of vegetarian options. I love their roasted cauliflower dish, which I think is called Najib's Special.
Love, love, LOVE this place! They have fantastic vegetarian and vegan options. We always stop here whenever we come to town.
I loved the place.... amazing service and food...
Delicious food. Try the Labanese coffee. Be sure to make a reservation for this popular restaurant!
Nice ambiance. Excellent food. Great customer service
The food is tasty but the staff are not friendly. I can say even rude.
Fairly consistent menu items like hummus, Najib's special and falafel. The Najib's special was not as crispy as other occasions which was disappointing. Service is okay but not exceptional. They mixed up my order once and offered to fix it but I didn't have time to wait for a do over. So they try. The tables are too close together and the noise is too much for me to carry on any meaningful conversation.
Long wait for take-out, small portion of meat for the price.
Very good ambiance in the restaurant and original Mediterranean dishes. Staff is also very friendly.
Excellent food...crowded and noisy.
Excelente menu!
Three of us for supper on a Monday. Surprisingly busy and no doubt because of the food. Started out with Baba Ghanooj and a beet salad which are large enough for four. This was followed by kebabs, sable fish, and a vegan stew, all of which were excellent. We also sampled their desserts; the baclava and chocolate cake. Great service.
Trendy, expensive, not my pick - my dining partner chose it. Nice looking small space with OK staff, nothing special. Food was OK overall. 3/5 Expense: not worth it.
Great food great staff! Go here weekly never disappointed
Great atmosphere. Amazing staff. Great food options for veggie and non-veggie dishes.
Always good
Ridiculous that they close in the day and re open at 5.
Outstanding menu, service and ambiance to n the heart of Vancouver. Something excellent for everyone, from carnivores to vegans!! Terrific place.
The most memorable food from my quick trip to Vancouver! I really enjoyed this place as it has a lovely, cozy ambiance. My only recommendation to improve service would be that if you have people seating in the bar you can offer them a table seating if the table was not occupied by a reservation. Still, I can enjoy the taste of the delicious hummus when I think of this place.
One of the best Lebanese meals in Vancouver. Fantastic seasonal menu and a quaint ambience for a quiet date night.
Way too expensive for what they offer.
Food is pretty good but rather pricey
One of my favourite spots in the city! The vibe is amazing, cozy but yet can me fancy if you want it to be. Food is absolutely delicious and super healthy with lots of flavour!!
Great food, beautiful location the little pistachio fancier changed my life!
Very good food
Nuba one of my go to’s. Fantastic food great atmosphere, and always a wonderful dining experience. They never disappoint!
It used to be better... Lately the food hasn't been sitting well in my partner or I's stomachs.....
I've been a long time customer of Nuba but this was my first visit to this location. I don't know if it is because of high staff turn over due to the pandemic but the experience was overall mediocre. Our server was not very personable and we found her abrasive. She also seemed unaware of the need to socially distance. My friend ordered prosecco but it came in a wine glass and looked flat. I'm not sure she got the right drink but she seemed ok with it so we didn't say anything. The server accidentally put down our salad on the table next to us and then ran back and grabbed it before they began to eat. Once we were eating the fattoush salad I wondered if we have been given the wrong dish as I noticed it was missing the toasted pita chips. After mentioning it to another staff member he confirmed it was the correct dish but I mentioned the missing pita chips. A few minutes later, our server drops off a side dish with large toasted pita. No explanation or instructions. It seemed a bit strange and it would have been nice if they just took the salad back and prepared it as it was meant to be. There was another mix up where we ordered one side prawn and one side chicken skewer but they brought us a large size dish of something else. Overall I found the food wasn't as tasty as normal and the experience overall was disappointing. Prawns were overcooked, lamb was dry and the dishes lacked the intense flavours I've had at Nuba previously.I've had so many great meals at the other locations and always been happy. I'm not sure if this is specific to this location or perhaps related to pandemic staffing issues but I probably won't be back here.
Eat in or to go. Delicious always. Falafel wrap is awesome.
Delicious, traditional Lebanese food! The big plates were piled with fresh flavours in a variety of textures. I appreciated the wide variety of vegan options.
Fantastic. Always a treat! Food is consistent, fresh and tasty.
It was a great experience! The food was high quality & delicious. Make sure you try the ginger kombucha. The only downside is 90 min seating which can be a little rushed.
Meals are a lil expensive but super tasty. The pistachio rosewater dessert is life changing but the cocktails are a miss.
Nuba never disappoints. They have a really great selection of vegetarian food. In a hot summer day, the indoor seating was too stuffy. The restaurant is quite small, so expect the wait could be long during dinner time.
I work a few minutes away from Nuba so I order takeout for the office every so often. Everyone collectively thought the cauliflower and chicken had great flavor but for some reason our food is ALWAYS cold. It never feels like the food was remotely hot to begin with. We've even tried ordering in at different times and the result remains the same. Our chicken and lamb are overcooked and extremely dry, same goes for the pita bread. It's quite disappointing... Are we getting day(s) old leftovers?
Lovely restaurant . Honestly we went there looking for the lamb kibbeh, but unfortunately removed from menu. No matter the new menu has variety and we had a good time with the profesional and courteous service offered by Luca, great customer service skills and very diligent . We order two Pilsner, they are fully licensed , no matter not mentioned on online menu, chicken Tawook, lamb Hushwie , garden falafel Mezze and Cookies and cream for dessert with a delicious americano coffee. Ambience is cozy , prices affordable and great portions . We will visit again !!!
Simple and delicious food. You'll love the place.
Food is good the ambiance is a little simpe
Nuba is great for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. Get Le Feast to sample a bunch of tastey plates!
First time visiting this Nuba location and it was good overall. The food was great as it usually is at any Nuba location but the service here was not the greatest. Our server wasn't really paying attention making it tough to get refills.
Terrible experience, went in for lunch on a Friday. Wasn’t too busy. I ordered a garden falafel pita. The wait staff was unprofessional, no eye contact or smiles, didn’t care to ask how the food was, which was bad, by the way. Firstly it was a giant pita on a tiny plate, it was terribly wrapped and was falling all over the place, I had to rewrap it myself. It barely had any falafel in it, tasted like eating lettuce wrapped in a pita. It was rudely tossed in front of me by the server. And to top it all off there were flies buzzing around the bar where I was eating. Would not recommend going to this one, other locations are good though.
Very highly rated, but I didn't really see why. Food was so-so. Their ginger ale was horrible.
Relatively large portions, delicious and well presented food!
Incredible food! Strong flavors, bright colors, the food itself looks like a work of art. The restaurant is light and fresh, compared to their Gastown location which is a bit more of a dark and cozy vibe. The servers are super nice, and since it’s not a huge place they can always be there for you if you need anything.
Excellent Lebanese food, to start with. But most importantly...I have travelled quite a bit and also own a restaurant, and let me tell you: best customer service I've ever received. Luca (the manager's name) attended me and my friend like we were family. Extremely nice, attentive, knows the menu perfectly and is great at suggesting plates based on your liking. I would hire him right now hehe. Highly recommended, I would give five additional stars if I could.
Hummus for 10 dollars should be more than just 2 table spoons.
Lamb was pretty bad and very slow service.
Same great food as other Nuba's, but no reservations and a crowd waiting for tables, combined with haphazard service makes for a slow evening. Bartender had to come to the rescue for us to settle up and leave as our server was slammed.
Authentic , Very TASTEFUL. Great service
Great place, delicious food, nice portions, and cooked to perfection.
Simple, flavourful dishes and lots on the menu for vegetarians. We really enjoyed the halloumi, super delicious. The ingredients were fresh and dishes were well prepared. The atmosphere is cozy and trendy, if a bit "hole-in-the-wall"eque. Would've appreciated cleaner washrooms especially given the current pandemic situation... But overall the food was really tasty and our server was very courteous and friendly. Interested to see how the other locations differ...
Dine in
Great food, great place! And service... I love it.
No idea what happened here but I legitaly don't remember ordering food delivery this bad in my entire life. We ordered a "grand feast" and it was a grand throw-up, prawns beef chicken babaganoush etc. had to litteraly spit out...everything except the salad. Would rate negative If i could, so disappointed I had to take the time to come and write this carefully. From what I see it seems like it might be a different cook thing, but one needs to get out asap because i swear I might just get sick now and i'm not even picky. Barely ate anything thank you for this disaster of a meal
Poor service. Didn't give a menu for 10 mins. Was waiting for order an hour. Waiters don't know what they are doing. Music was awful.
Fresh, healthy food and a great patio space to people watch.
Service was very attentive and nice, they worked as a team to provide an amazing experiance. The food was one of the best meals me and my partner has had in a long time. 10/10 everything. We were very upset we couldn't eat the last piece of pita because we did didnt want to waste a drop, it was that delicious.
Gorgeous vibes and amazing staff. Our server Talal helped us with the menu and recommended the la grand feast for our first visit here in Nuba. It was fresh, fast and delicious!! Thank you for the lovely helpful service and the high quality food. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely be coming back.
Amazing food, fantastic service. Tons of options without being overwhelming. I wouldn't change a thing.
Honestly, I thought this was going to be one of those places that you pay a lot to eat tiny portions. I was so glad to be wrong. I enjoyed the Dine out menu: crispy cauliflower, beef stew, and dark chocolate cake for dessert. Everything tasted amazing (and VERY big portions, I was full. Not that it stopped from eating lol). The staff was very friendly too. I hope to come back soon
Food was really good. Theres a feast for two that is a total must.
Try the cauliflower and the lentils.
Good food, good drinks, good service, but very noisy environment and prices feel a bit too steep. Still, would definitely come back next time I crave eastern Mediterranean food.
Did not have enough staff. Food was mediocre and overpriced.
Very delicious food, European people will enjoy! Many vegan options, which if great for my family.
Love the food and juiced veggies. I've only had 1 bad experience and the staff tried to fix it for me. I think it was a new Cook or she was really tired. But it was one time and I'll definitely try again ????
Enjoyd a great dinner. We tried to get in one evening but they were full. Glad we tried again!
We went on a friday evening in December. The overall restaurant ambience is cozy, the music is soothing and esthetic is modern. The customer service, although attentive, felt pushy to order, as opposed to being helpful with actually what to order or wanting to offer any suggestions on what to get. Once our meal was ordered, the food came out quickly, which was good, although the portion sizes are... underwhelming. We had to order a several sides of pita to finish our trio dip starter, the amount of bread served with the dish wasn't nearly enough. The mains, although delicious, left me hungry after I left. The glass of wine looked like a taster at best. Once our meals were served, the 'somewhat friendly customer service' turned off, and I felt pushed to order more drinks or leave. Overall, I wasn't really satisfied with my experience.
Very cozy place with amazing food!
Amazing, super delicious - awesome customer services.
Very expensive and very less food. Totally uneconomical. Also HOW ON EARTH ARE THEY A LABANESE RESTUARANT WITHOUT SHAWARMA!!!!!
Always good food and service. I enjoyed my meals every visit.
Great food, patio is opened!
Menu, food and service all not as good as the Gastown location
Ohhhbi love the Mediterranean food here. Being preferred vegetarian, we went for Falafal, Baba Ganooj and , Najob special platter.. The service was amazing and fast.
Good food and pleasant setting with some outdoor seating. Always busy.
Excellent veggie food! Great for lunch meetups.
Tasty. Nice place to eat.
Love Nuba Cafe, great healthy, Middle Eastern and vegetarian lunch options. Limited seating at their current location (but they are expanding)
I have eaten here many times, and keep coming back. I haven't had a single thing I didn't like on the menu. Their chicken is a classic.
Decent food, good service. Place is on the smaller side and feels cramped especially when busy.
The food was amazing. Great for vegetarians/vegans
Great lunch spot.
Enjoyed my lunch very much. Nice staff. Great location. Found easy parking nearby and the Turkish Coffee ending the end of the meal was superb ????
Cheap, fresh and delicious!
Great vegan choice. Nice little spot. The waiting staff are amazing so is the food.
Food was delish!
Bravo..in my experience this is the best of the locations for service and the signature dishes Nuba is known for.
I really like the place. But our food was ok, not much taste in it.
Meal type
Great service and food! The lamb kafta and the falafel plate was delicious!
Just okay. Taboulleh wasn't bad. I didn't like the Mushroom soup and just had 4 spoons of it. My friend had Falafel and said it was good.
Lively place. Great Lebanese food. Try the platters.
Great food and good staff to help you enjoy your day.
You must try the Najib Special full platter! The staff are also very friendly.
Not bad. I prefer the Nuba in Gastown
Clean cozy place, with tasty food (apart from the potato which arrived cold in both of our plates). Small tables, noisy.
Good food with a lively atmosphere situated downtown Vancouver. Opposite the restaurant is a park for the kids to play. It would be nice to include a kids menu. Service at this restaurant is impeccable and friendly.
My favorite meal in all of Vancouver. Don't miss the vegetable stew.
Customer service was okay. Rather than greet me the lady at the front looked annoyed that I came in to the restaurant, turned to her colleague and said "I can't", so it was a different experience for me. The two were on their phones behind the bar for most the evening, and they just seemed really confused with our order, the timing between each item was long. But the food was good. Not great, but good. Nice colors, size, and presentation.
Gastown branch is waaay better quality of food and better service. The chef here burnt our meals and waiter Luc was just ignoring the fact that we wanted to replace one of the plates that tasted awful. Avoid this location and go to the other one if you can. Music was loud and obnoxious and it was on repeat which made it worse. I can make way better food at home.
This place is awesome! Went for a work lunch there and the service was quick and efficient. As always the food was delicious. Highly recommend!
NEVER DISAPPOINTS TO DISAPPOINT. This has been my 4th and absolutely last visit (I've been going in the absence of an alternative Middle Eastern restaurant nearby and proximity to my place). The portions are nothing but funny for what they charge. Spent 150 CAD for 3 adults yesterday (excluding wine and beverages) and everyone left hungry. Also the food isn't healthy, I get stomach aches, gas and other symptoms every time I eat from this place. Service is slow and insufficient, my average wait time has been 30 minutes and no apologies for late delivery from anyone. I suggest finding another Middle Eastern restaurant that deserves what you pay.
Good food, lovely fresh design.
Lunch
Food is amazing!! I give the food 10/10
So good
Great please and very good food.
The food and prices are great, but hot damn - we waited for over an hour and watched as four different servers walked right past us, and even tried flagging them down. It almost seemed like the servers each thought the other had it covered.
Some of the best Lebanese food I have eaten.
We ordered the shared platter and it was delicious. We ordered for two people and it was enough for the four of us. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful with suggestions since we don't eat lamb. The haloumo and lemonade (with extra agave) was excellent too. The only reason I'm not giving it a five star is that one of the servers got annoyed when we asked for extra bowls to share the soup, which was excellent as well.
Amazing food and ambience, but a bit pricey on my opinion considering the portion size. Apparently the price is better for lunch time but I've only been there during dinner.
Very good but expensive.
Great food, homely, comforting and filling. Good service!
Loved the kombucha here
Great food.
Great food and service. Nice ambience
The food was great but the service was horrible. The restaurant got busy and our server had no idea what she was doing. We were new to the place so had no clue what type of food it was. She wasn't very good at explaining us the food items and what their speciality is. I think the management needs to train their staff better. People who came after us got their drinks and food before us so we decided not to give a tip. when she (server) pulled the receipt she was expecting a tip from us and the moment she found we didn't leave her a tip she got mad. I never knew tip was a mandatory thing. She started giving us bad looks and showing us attitude. I felt she did me a favor by serving us rather than doing her job. I'm soooo glad that I didn't leave her a tip.
The food is yummy, the rice pudding is almost as good as the 5star all-inclusives in Mexico and more importantly you might be lucky enough to have Julia Fischer's doppelgänger as your server.
Gorgeous food, the most colourful meal I've ever eaten! Great for groups who are into sharing dishes together as there are so many tasty things to try.
Love their food and juice! New location is bright and open concept. Staff seemed fine.
Quality of food was very poor, It tasted like leftovers. Waitress was very impolite and not cooperative . I don’t recommend this restaurant!
The food, atmosphere, and service at Nuba in Yaletown are all so good! It is our favorite place to go as a family.
Looks like Turkish coffee but doesn't taste like that.
Service
Dinner
Small restaurant but helpful and attentive staff. The food was very nice. We had a 2 person platter, which had too much stuff on for us to finish - a shame because it was all so tasty! Especially recommended for their vegetarian options (but they do serve meat)
Been recommended by friends before and finally got to try it! Excellent wrap and very fast for takeout.
Chicken was raw in the middle of my Chicken Tawook Plate
Wasn't my first pick but not bad.
Super busy location make reservations in advance. Good place to get vegetarian food. Service was fast, knowledgeable and pleasant.
Find a way to get here and shovel the cauliflower in your mouth. Everything else I had was delicious also.
Staff is awesome here. Food is filling. I bit pricy.
Pita was very tasty. I gave 4 stars just because it could be a bit bigger for the price.
Delicious.... simply put.
Great food!
The Najib's fried cauliflower was one of the best. Just fried cauliflower with generous lemon juice and salt. Served with tahini and jalapeno dip.
Meal type
I wanted to try this place for the longest time and everything I pass by there is a line up, we finally made it after a 20 mins wait. Food was good but a bit overpriced. Ambience is cool but place is too small. Service is good.
food was good but service is very strange
Meh. The kebab was okay but nowhere near top notch quality you’d expect. The rice was bland.
Absolutely wonderful! I'm so glad my friend recommended this place, I'll definitely be returning.
Red lentil soup and najib special make my mouth water
SO GOOD!!
Service
Super fast service and very fresh, healthy food
New space is awesome! Good is tasty as always. Highly recommend the Najib special!
Bright, new location around the corner on Davie Street from their previous location. Outstanding food, service, and environment. Don't miss this place.
Meal type
Great food (roasted cauliflower, lamb on a bed of humus, quinoa chocolate cake, really good coffee Americano, and lovely service that is warm, welcoming and not too solicitous.. today no longer wait, close to the park, cool, bright and relaxing.
Great food. The attentive and friendly staff were willing to indulge my curiosity, and the price was quite reasonable. Will absolutely be back the next time I'm in the area.
excellent food and good customer service
Beautiful place with amazing food. Nice dine-in experience.
So delicious and a great room
Such great food!
We are into second week of phase 2 COVID19 and I ordered two beef kebab plate take out when Nuba opened for lunch today. I like the hot sauce but the beef was super chewy on both plates. The food was only lukewarm like they were reheated. Not impressed to pay such high price for chewy beef and pre-cooked food probably from day before.
Ok. Stingy with lettuce and cukes for dipping
Great food! So flavourful!
This was my first time at this Lebanese joint in Yaletown, Vancouver. I've never had Lebanese food like this. I'm not going to judge based on a first time lunch experience, but I am going to tell you how my lunch was. …
Nice but nothing special, expected more for the price
Good laid back atmosphere with nice lighting and a quaint vibe. You must get the Najib special because it's the tasiest version of cauliflower you will ever try! All their dishes are fantastic to be shared. They also have an amazing variety on non-alcoholic drinks and cocktails and be sure to polish it all off with a nice cup of tea!
Great fresh Lebanese food.
Nuba is always good food and good service. My picky children also enjoyed their dishes.
On the Expensive side. Tried the Platter for two: includes almost all the items on the menu. The Flat bread was so good it needs a seperate mention. The Falafel could be better.
Tried the Falafel plate for take out; worth the $13.65 spent. Quick service and welcoming staff. Loved the #humus
Their lunch plates are scrumptious
The food is quite disappointing and not worth the money
Sooo good. Amazing atmosphere, tons of choices for vegan, vegetarian or meat eaters alike, great drinks and an amazing patio for sitting in the summer.
Really enjoyable! Highly recommend!
Excellent location and delicious food. We went with a larger group and everyone loved their dishes.
We didn't like the Feast plate. Food was overcooked and not well prepared. We were expecting a lot.
They give you great lunch specials. Like the food is seriously fantastic and for a very reasonable price! So glad my coworker introduced me to this place!
Lame experience, slowest service ever for a restaurant that had 12 people eating there, lame servers, overpriced dishes, would not return, sorry.
Service was extremely slow, and food was soso
We were waiting for a table of four, two adults and two minors. There were two separate empty tables when we get there. And the male guests next to each of those tables were about to finish. Instead of letting us wait for those guys to finish, they have let 9 other late comers to get in without prioritizing us who are the first in line. So disappointing about how they arrange the tables for guests with kids. Feel like being discriminated, is it that hard for parents and toddlers to just get a meal in a restaurant? Can you just let table for two get in and in like that and starve the parents and kids?
Disgusting food and bad service, don't go.
Excellent sauces and service. Food was hot, plentiful and tasty.
Authentic food ! Great service
Good and affordable Lebanese food, nice decor and very nice staff
great and fresh food with attentive staff!
Great food, really busy. All organic stuff, friendly staff.
Visited thinking food would be close to authentic and unfortunately I assume they were going for more fusion plates. I.e The fattoush salad contained chicken peas and carrots and what appeared to be excessive amount of red cabbage. Tabouli had no lemon juice nor olive oil whatsoever. The beef skewers were no edible as they were far to “chewy” and the Baba Ganoush lacked everything including presentation. The fried cauliflower was over cooked in the exterior and the interior was under cooked. Very pricey for two people to dine considering we ate less then 1/8 of the food served.
sooo delicious!! If I could give more stars I would.
Pretty decent food. Good place to be to try different things!!
Food is very good, and the service is great. Portions are smaller than I'd expected and prices are higher than I'd like. A worthwhile destination for good, quality Lebanese food overall though.
Love this location! Cozy, great service and always great food.
Nice and good vegetarian options
This was an excellent meal for six. We ordered the feast to give everyone some meat and some dips. It works really well as mezes when you all want to try the different flavours and the combinations. The meats are delightful, be sure to waste no time letting them cool as the juicy lamb shanks and spiced skewers will taste amazing right out of the kitchen.
Yum! Great flavors and so much food! Loved the cauliflower and dip spread.
Have had better. Not worth it.
I’m disappointed with the flafel wrap first time ordered from here and it was filled with lettuce and few flafel in like I was eating salad wrap. I don’t recommend it to anyone.
one of the best restaurant to have Fresh Lebanese Food ... simply the best a must place to visit for all the foodies
So, so tasty - and perfect portion sizes.
Quality went downhill. Brought out raw lamb chops, they were kind enough to take back my plate and make another, and after waiting 30 minutes the second lamb chops were more raw then the first. Cold in the center after i asked for medium.
Really good food and service and nice atmosphere aside from the acoustics. The only thing that’s missing is some acoustic dampening . The ceiling is concrete so it’s very hard to hear the server or the person next to you when it’s busy.
Awesome food and great customer service! Great location too!
Fantastic food, love the falafels
Good lunch options
Super delicious Lebanese food. Lots of vegan, gluten free options. Ask for romaine leafs instead of pita bread for a gluten free option to pita bread. Free of charge. The Turkish coffee is also a standout. Najibs special yum yum yum. I would never get tired of this place. Never disappoints!
Perfect lebanese food. Best Hummus in Downtown. Absolutely try fried Cauliflower
Authentic Lebanese food, fresh ingredients, great service, fantastic ambience....
So delicious! Love their potatoes so much
Nuba never disappoints. The najib deep fried cauliflower dish is my favourite. I have tried their falafels and beef dishes which were solid. The food is always packed with flavours.
Love the feast platter, perfect for 2 YuM
The food is good. However, shish taouk skewers are not hot meza, or there should be an option for it as a main course at least.
Delicious food in a comfy setting. Lots of vegetarian options.
Excellent food and value! Delicious :) I love he atmosphere inside the restaurant and the staff were extremely friendly.
I've been to the Nuba in gastown, yaletown, and mount pleasant, and I've had a great experience at every location. I can't get over how flavourful the food is, great texture with the falafel and cripspy cauliflower (UNREAL), and is a great place for meat eaters and vegans alike - there's options for everyone. The staff at every location have also been super friendly. My go to place for vegan food in Vancouver (and the go to for all my friends too!). Check it out, you will not be disappointed.
Restaurant: Nuba Location: 508 Davie St, Vancouver, BC V6B 3N9 Dish: Chicken Tawook "Grilled Mount Lehman chicken breast made with our traditional garlic sauce. I came here once and liked it but I don't think that their food is something that would make me want to come back again as it didn't wow me! I've talked to some Lebanese acquaintances and they told me that this is not real Lebanese food somehow. I think it's a good place for a date night but I wouldn't come here regularly. Their service is good.
Excellent lunch specials and good service.
Service
Dishes are good but all is just for entrance.
If you are not sure what to have, order La Feast. Actually, even if you are sure of what you want to have, order La Feast. This variety of items is great to be shared with friends or loved ones. I also highly recommend the custom mixed fruit / vegetable drinks. There is a drawback of this location in that it is small. The Gastown location is much larger. That being said, both will be very busy. Reservations recommended.
The food is delicious, and the service is pretty great. The tahini and the hummus were legit. Espresso wasn't the best.
Love the food here!
Great taste, fine meat. A lot of meat!!!
Food here is incredible. Grab some wine and share the platter for 2 and you won't be disappointed. Bit of a wait sometimes so I like to go on quieter nights.
Overpriced middle eastern Resturant
The patio was really nice this summer. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly and accommodating (even with grumpy toddlers).
Very tasty food! Thanks!
Food was really good and the service was great. We got humus, lamb, chicken, and the best cauliflower ever. The place is located really nicelly at 2 blocks from the skytrain
Shish tawook was flavourful. Pickled cabbage was crispy and fresh. Hummus was smooth and the pita was nice and thin. Great place for a light lunch.
Great service, and great food, we love this place
Good healthy food. Pretty filling for vegetarian food.
Nice place. Second Nuba we visited in two weeks. Great food, good service, relaxed atmosphere. Thumbs up! Will visit again.
All three vegetarian lunch plates are amazing!
Sometimes the service can be a bit slow but the food is amazing, the people are friendly and the space has a bright, modern Mediterranean feel. The falafel and the cauliflower bites are my FAVOURITES!
Great Mediterranean food. You must try the califlour Najib Speacial
Love coming here for lunch. This Nuba doesn't do reservations so we always come shortly after they open at 11:30am to grab a table. Good luck trying to get a table after 12pm. Food is consistently good. Tastes authentic, portions are large and always satisfying. Food comes out fast. Lunch menu is extensive and has something for everyone.
Great fresh food. Had the La Feast, great way to try a lot of their vegetarian items. Kind and attentive staff.
The food at Nuba is always great! Tasty, filling, and the spices are perfect. Ambience at this location is beautiful, they did a great job fitting this tiny space with features that feel authentic. I very much appreciate the service here. The staff are delightful and helpful. I ordered the lamb and wasn't very impressed this time. I found it quite fatty and tasteless. My mom ordered the stuffed zucchini and that was divine! We also ordered the hot bourbon cocktail, and I will be returning just for that!
Great baba, not too smokey. We got fattoush and a lunch platter and it was super filling for two people. The cauliflower in nuts, really delicious.
The food is so good, however the portions are very small for the price ...
Got a chicken tawook here, enjoyed a lot. Super friendly stuff. Great place.
Great atmosphere & service ... & even better food...
Great food can't complain. Mediterranean cuisine.
Amazing! If you skip the cauliflower you are crazy. I highly recommend the haloomi as well!
Ordered the sampler platter really yummy!!!! Had to update photos....great place been back multiple times
Food is quite oily here - just smothered in olive oil. Lacks the depth of flavour associated with these types of cuisine. Could do more in terms of providing value to customer - either in serving sizes or perhaps more substantial offerings besides tapas sizes.
My fav place in Vancouver.
It doesn't represent well the Lebanese food. It's overpriced considering the quantity of the food you get. For a better quality , price and real authentic food it's better to go to wild thyme restaurant.
good food but not the best service...
Amaaazing food. Must try the lamb here..
Excellent delicious food, beautifully presented. Pleasant servers. Many gluten free and vegetarian choices.
Went to the yaletown location. Staff was not friendly nor welcoming, and quite hasty (it wasn't late nor was it too busy). The food took forever (a salad, a halumi dish, a skewer, and a lamb chop), and the appetizer we ordered did not come. We did not bother asking because we did not want to wait another 40 minutes. The lamb chop was over cooked. The salad was very good, the portions were small. Maybe an off day?
Delicious vegan food, lovely ambiance, good service.
The food is absolutely great. Writing this review after my second visit to this restaurant. The service was not the best this time around. We waited 45 minutes before a server came to take our order. It was disappointing, would have been less so if they had at least came for a drink order from us. If you go I recommend sitting inside unfortunately because you won’t be forgotten.
My first time here. Food was excellent. A bit pricy for what you receive. Could have better napkins.
Excellent Lebanese food - 3 of us did the share plate - easily feeds 4. So delicious and a great way to sample.
Dine in
Najib's special all day long!
I like this place. Service is nice. Just one confusion there menu always keep changing so ask before getting sit, if you going for particular dish like I did.
Lovely little cafe with delicious Lebanese food! The cauliflower is not to be missed. Plenty of veggie and vegan options.
Now a larger and brighter location having moved around the corner on to Davie. A great menu at reasonable prices with friendly servers. Can get crowded and often line ups at peak hours.
Great eats!
The best middle eastern food in vancouver at affordable prices!
Hands down one of my favourite downtown spots! Keep up the great food and service!
Food is great. I love their chicken. No Happy hour deals anymore i think due to COVId19 but other than that its great but a bit pricey.
On this was a great find in Yaletown. All the goodness I've come to expect from the Ernesto gang. Nuba in Gastown, Fayuca and now this. Very good food with service you can't complain. But the best part for this location is the airy open decor.
Can't believe it took me so long to go to this place! Food was delicious!
Once again Nuba delivers. They have multiple locations around Vancouver and all serve the same consistent flavours. Check the website some locations accept reservations while some are walk in only.
Ordered take out yesterday. Great food so delicious and at the right price. Love the vibe and how fast it was made. 5 stars!
Never been here before. Ordered a falafel pita, the inside of the falafel is green. Never had one before, it was refreshing. Place was rather busy considering it was a Tuesday 1415. The server was very nice and friendly. I will have to go back and try the rest of their menu.
The staff is super friendly, food is fresh and light.
Very good food and a cozy environment!
I tried chicken , it is perfect
Amazing healthy and delicious food!! Great service!
This place has such a chill, and cozy vibe to it, with big windows and a bright decor. The seating was a bit cramped, so I would recommend avoiding the middle 4 seating area, by making a reso or going during a quiet time. Service was professional, and straight to the point. The menu was very intriguing! I’ve been a vegetarian for a very long time, and I’m recently trying out a vegan lifestyle, so it was good to see so many options. I tried the Najib Special, which is grilled cauliflower with lemon and tahini.... amazing! The red lentil soup & cauliflower/eggplant soup were also tasty! The food pricing, presentation and use of colour needs an honourable mention! Ill be back for sure!
This fusion of western and middle eastern palettes doesn’t really work. It’s a confused mix of flavors: fried haloumi cheese is drenched in sweet vinaigrette; spring greens and coarsely chopped vegetables comprise a mock fattoush salad. Mjaddarah is traditionally made with rice and a ton of cumin, but Nuba’s chefs reinterpreted it as a mushy lentil stew. The eggplant stew is quite plain, but the biggest disappointment is the hummus and baba ghanouj which, despite being drenched in paprika and sumac, respectively, taste nothing like the earthy authentic versions of the dips. The ambience is nice, and the service is great, but given the high price and small menu, I’m disappointed. Meat eaters will like the lamb dishes, however, and the mojito is lovely.
One of my favorite places for a healthy quick bite to eat. Their Najib’s special, hummus, baba ganoush and falafel keeps me coming back several times a month. Service is fast and usually pretty friendly. You won’t be disappointed!
The feast is really delicious and super filling. You have to try hard to make a dent in all that food! The cauliflower are my fav part for sure.
Best vegetarian Mediterranean food I ever had!
Love the atmosphere, love the food and staff is amazing
Lots of healthy options! Highly recommend their Cauliflower dish. Ordered the lunch set, good variety and good portion.
Going downhill. Small portions. Spend $70 (2 x grand feast) and just got ONE tiny thin pita bread. I mean.... If you are going to reduce portion sizes, at least, be generous with cheap starches. Dunno what happened to the management of this company. Never again.
The chicken was incredible, loved the variety of foods on the plate, but the portions were also incredibly small. Pretty pricey and you would need to order more than just a main course to fill you up.
Great food and a brand new location.
Amazing food!
This place can never disappoint me! If you get there and have to wait in line... WAIT! Walking away will lead to regret and other feelings that are totally unnecessary! Great food and great friendly service. Oh and if you are vegan there are options here for you!!!
If you don't take reservations at least learn to care for the potential customers in the queue. After waiting a 1/2 hour they gave away our table to a guy who knew the bartender, then lied about it. The management of this place is abhorrent. I worked in the service industry for over 15 years and you don't play nepotism this way. If we were not 2 older women we would never have been treated this way or ignored. I have been a regular at the Mount Pleasant and Kits locations and the service and food there is great. I will never go back to any location after this. Shameful
This place is quite mediocre. I had the lamb hushwie and I am not pleased at all. The lamb was dry and I couldn't taste and onion or avocado or pine nuts. I was very disappointed. My friends has the Le Feast and Vegan Stew and they enjoyed it. So maybe this place is for Vegetarian. The other issue with the place is that 2 of the dishes that I ordered were out of stock even though we weren't that late (at 7pm). For dessert we had Coconut Panna cotta which was the only redeeming quality. It was pretty good.
We had a lovely dinner here back when dining out was the norm and often order delivery. Service is always great!
They now have a new location around the corner on Davie Street from their previous location. Good and healthy food but not very flavorful. I wish they had Mujadara for dinner as well. they have it only for lunch. why not for dinner too? This is my favorite
Excellent Lebanese food, it's strongly worth considering getting on of the feasts.
Excellent and exceptionally tasty food.
Delicious food and impressive service!
Great food and good service
Enjoyed a wonderful lunch at this Nuba location recently... loved every bit of it from their food to friendly staff!
Charming and delicious. Great service !
The food here is excellent. So healthy, fresh, and delicious. The restaurant is bright and beautiful. The cauliflower is divine and a must try! The location in Gastown is also just as good
This is good quality food, good service - overall very satisfied!
Lol i think the only two places, out of the hundreds i went to/reviewed,...that i gave a 1 star for....were cactus club, and Nuba. And that tells you how much i hate it. Very over-priced for a kids portion, and very very commercial for Lebanese food, which i ate a lot for the past 20 years (my Aunt is Lebanese) highly avoid. And the way they spread a thin very very wide layer of hummus to make you feel like the plate is full, ugh very fake and commercial
Absolutely love this restaurant! I always get the falafel plate at lunch time and it’s always delicious. I wish they offered the falafel plate at dinner. I don’t go for dinner because they don’t have that item. The service is good and the location is perfect!
Great place for lunch
Bad place . They make you wait hours and waitresses are not polite. Bad experience
It's easy to comeback to tasty dishes that look so good. Fast friendly service too.
Food is good. People are very nice.
Delicious food. Friendly staff. What more do you want? ????
Service good. Food nice
Fell in love with this place from the moment we walked in. Amazing team, crazy delicious food and dreamy cocktails. Fave spot in Vancouver. Easily 25/10
I love Nuba. The food was great, the service was awesome. Lots of gluten free and vegetarian/vegan options. Will definitely be back!
Very tasty meal, nice decor, friendly staff, quaint location, excellent food presentation, and reasonably priced.
Great food and friendly staff. Definitely recommend
I was searching around for something to eat this evening and came across the menu for Nuba. I saw the roasted chicken and immediately knew what I wanted to get, so I got ready and walked over from my hotel. I was able to be seated immediately (I was there during more post-dinner hours) and was able to place an order within a few minutes of that. The waitstaff gave me a heads up that the roasted chicken takes about 30 minutes to prepare, so I enjoyed a leisurely appetizer. I was already having a pretty good evening when I received my entree and tasted the chicken. It was cooked and seasoned/dressed perfectly, in my opinion! The sides (roasted bell peppers and carnaroli rice) complemented the chicken wonderfully. All around, it was an amazing dish. I honestly didn't put my fork down once until I cleared the plate! (The portions were more than enough for me, but my hotel room doesn't have a fridge and I did /not/ want to waste any of this dish!) I thought the dishes seemed a bit pricey, at first, but then a. I tasted how great the dish was b. I remembered that the prices were in Canadian dollars ???? leaving this excellent meal comparable in price to any given u.s. sit-down chain restaurant, where they just microwave their food anyway. So, for the quantity and quality I received, especially as compared to what I'm used to, this was wonderful! The waitstaff were also very attentive, while balancing this with letting me have the space to enjoy my meal in peace. All around, I greatly enjoyed my dinner, and I'll be coming back the next time I visit Vancouver!
Nice Mediterranean food! Ideal for quick work lunches but book in advance
Great vegi food
My favourite lunch place!! Their dishes are the most delicious and nutritious at a great price point.
This was the first time at this location; we usually go to the one on Cambie. This restaurant is so nice and lively and the staff is great, very courteous and our water glasses were never empty. The seating is a little tight but the excellent food makes up for it.
Nice experience food was okay
Absolutely fresh and decadent!
Very good Lebanese food. The atmosphere is very loud and crowd.
Enjoyed this place! The waitress was nice and we were there for Happy Hour. We had most of the appys and they were delicious! The hummus was fresh and tasty. We loved the cauliflower and the beet hummus the best. Loved the deco as well. Perfect place for a nice meal and my vegetarian friends would enjoy it very much!!
Their juice is not fresh. I watched the guy go into the fridge and get containers of juice already made. Who have been sitting there for god knows how long. And then proceeded to load up my drink with lemon juice that definitely wasn't fresh. Plenty of great places for juice in Vancouver don't go here for it.
Authenticate food! Best service!
Comfort food to make you feel warm inside
Super Yum
The food was quite good, and the portions were generous, with tasty options for herbivores as well as omnivores. I would have given it 5 stars for the food, but it was rather loud to have a conversation. Call it 4.5 stars, and because it is small, you will likely wait for a table at peak times. An unfortunate side effect of good food in a busy location. Prices were reasonable based on the quality of the food.
Food is delicious but you get very little amount for the money you pay. The space is super cozy and tight so you're very close to everyone in the restaurant!
Super friendly vibe as always. Fresh and healthy food.
Dinner
Delicious vegan options! Not the best picture but the beet dish is so good.
I have only been to the Yaletown branch and all I can say is food is delicious, but terrible terrible service which spoils the whole experience. I have eaten here twice so far and the service was really poor. The staff needs serious training, especially when the restaurant gets super busy. It feels like they have no idea what to do and there is a serious lack of organization .The wait times were horrible and the lack of organization made it worse. Customer service is really bad. No acknowledgement, eye contact and a general feeling of entitlement from the servers. I felt like the servers were doing me a favor instead of doing their jobs. So train your staff accordingly and be more organized. Otherwise the food is good.
Not a lot of options, good ambiance !!
We had an enjoyable experience here at Nuba. Friendly and speedy service, plenty of seating inside. We ordered the meat combo and veggie mezzes which each came with a side, so we also got salad and fries. The dishes were full of flavour, generously portioned and reasonably priced. Overall, a great value!
I have had middle eastern food before. I think the flavour were missing
Trying to eat more vegetarian food lately and Nuba was the perfect place for this. Ordered a delicious lentil and rice dish with Hummas. It was outstanding!
Ordered a falafel wrap. Wasn't even wrapped properly and content fell apart. Additionally, bread pretty much disintegrated due to sogginess. Poor.
Enjoyed the Najib Special Platter with pita..
Good good and nice ambience. Nice staff.
The food was delicious and in good portions. Very friendly staff as well. Strongly recommend.
Lunch
The staff were very nice but the food was much less so
We enjoyed a late lunch here today. The kids shared the vegan plate and we had the lamb Kafka plus roasted cauliflower appetizer. Amazing flavours all around! Ample portions and nicely plated. My hubby’s need for gluten-free was easily taken care of with zero tummy upset afterward. While we weren’t able to eat the pita bread, the kids said it was delicious. Needless to say, we all cleaned our plates. A very open, bright and clean restaurant in Yaletown! We can see why they are busy and will definitely be back!
Went there with a friend. Unusual food and very healthy. Not that tasty for me ..
We went on a saturday noon brunch. While we have always done lunch and dinner at nuba gastown, this was the first time eating brunch at Nuba. We got the brunch platter. First course was pita and two types of hummus: regular chickpeas and carrot. The carrot one was exquisitely creamy. The chickpea hummus is as usual excellent. It also came with a tabulleh salad, nothing to go gaga over. The second course was amazing. The crispy cauliflower was extraordinary. The lamb patties were very tender .Haloumi cheese, lentils with carmelized onions were excellent as well. All in all a great brunch. You cant go wrong with Nuba.
Great Lebanese food, friendly service and a bright, modern interior. Well worth a visit and the turkish coffee is fantastic.
Super tasty, quick, quality food.
Friendly server, great food, lots of options for vegetarian. I loved it.
Great food, not authentic enough to my taste.
Lovely spot, amazing food!
Long story short, I love this place! The staff were super friendly, the food was amazing, and the service was very fast. We loved our salads and the grilled chicken was just perfect!
Friendly staff and fabulous food. They have all kinds of vegan options too!
Delicious food, tasty house lemonade and Turkish coffee and friendly staff. Reasonably priced food for the quality you get. Would highly recommend and will defo return
Fairly decent food but still below industry standard
We came here on a Monday for lunch on September 13 right when the passport was implemented. The host was very nice and greeted us at the entrance to check for our Id before entering. We had the option of sitting outside or inside but due to the weather we say inside (though there were people outside as well). They had social distanced us and we're very accommodating to us as we had my 13 month old with us. They host and our waitress were very lovely and very nice. They were refilling our pita bread and water very promptly. They have high chairs there and a space to store your stroller which was really nice. The food was amazing. We ordered a bunch of dishes to share and I'll be looking forward to visiting again.
Wow! I have been wanting to visit Nuba for a while and so thrilled I finally did. You have to order the cauliflower!! My other favorite was the tabouleh however everything we ordered was delishious. Make sure to save room for the pistachio cake!
Great food, surprisingly great drinks. Solid place, always heading back.
I delicious Najib Cauliflower appetizer and Felafel Pita. Delicious ang great serving sizes. It gets busy so come early when they open.
A great little place in downtown. It’s definitely on the pricy side. If you’re looking for cheap, this is not your place. If you’re looking for delicious food...? Definitely this one. I loved the fact that they gave hummus and pita as standard with the meal and offer free refills on your pita basket. Waitstaff were friendly and attentive and the food was ordered and to our table in no time flat. (Just before noon.) I wouldn’t bother with their beers, personally, but that’s just me. Would love to come back during the dinner hour for their cocktails!
The najib special is the best
Food was great, we got seated immediately. Service was good
Dine in
Food was really good.
Not exactly a Lebanese restaurant or anything close to it.
Omg. So good. Had the chicken tawook and my goodness this was delicious. And the faculty collaboration turmeric beer.. wow. 11/10
One of my fav places to eat. The chicken tawook with the garlic sauce is enough reason to check this place out. I'm also celiac and they are always good about taking note. You can replace the pita with romain hearts. The only gripe I would have is that the seating is a bit cramped but the hummous makes up for it! Check it out!
Not super excited their gas town location was much better!
delish food best in van
Very nice place for a quick bite. They're short on tables so it's usually for take out. The food is very good and they have a few dessert options too. I believe they're planning to move to a bigger location soon.
Perfect for excellent food in a relaxed atmosphere
Dine in
Great for a quick bite!
Great food and excellent prices
I went here when I was young with my mom and it was so good that I've always wanted to come back! So last night when my friend and I decided to go for dinner this is where we went. After 20 minutes we were still sitting with our menus and water watching tables sat after us getting their orders in. It was 7:30 at this point and the restaurant was starting to slow down so I had expected to at least have a drink order in at this point. I was really disappointed, but I'll try a different Nuba location.
I love Nuba. Today I went to the Seymour Cafe and although I have always had great service at any Nuba I have been to, the gentleman that served us today was amazing. I forgot to ask his name, but the server at 6.00pm today was fabulous. Needless to say the food was fantastic too.
Portions sizes where large and very tasty. We had to ask for some clarification of the menus pricing as the have some menus options listed as a /per person price. Nuba is trendy and busy place.
Good food, a little over priced
Great tasting food......great service
Exceptionally good food. Colliflour is incredible. Babaganouj is just perfect. Same with the hummus, though Jamjar's is slightly better (warmer). Fast service but LONG wait to get seated.
Great restaurant for vegetarians!
Let me start by saying I love Nuba. I find their food always delicious, perfectly cooked, great flavour. I went in for a small pickup order and the person at the front was extremely pleasant, friendly and awesome. I ordered just an order of hummus, which I love at Nuba. When I got home, I was absolutely shocked at how small the appetizer portion was. I paid $11.50 for it and yes, it's freshly made and delicious, however, it was literally the size of of a side order when you get a side order at a restaurant, not an appetizer size. So I'm not sure if they over charged me or misunderstood what I was asking for, but none the less, it was extremely disappointing and I won't be returning for just the hummus anymore.
Good place with nice food. Usually fast service. UPDATE: After they moved to the new location the prices have increased, their menus changed, and although the venue looks better, the overall quality has been lowered. I no longer recommend this place.
Good food great service too
Went here twice on our 8 day vacation because it was so good! Friendly staff even let us dine-in with our luggage.
I took friends to Nuba in Yaletown for dinner. They have a good selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. The restaurant is clean, well lit, and the music is pleasant and not too loud. They don't take reservations but I explained that I have a disability and they held a table for us. I appreciate the staff sensitivity and their support for those who live with disabilities.
Fabulous food and wonderful service
Delicious food. The platter for two fed three of us!
These guys are great! There food is great as well!!
Great food, well priced, intimate room, nice hospitable staff. AND healthy, well thought out and prepared menu!
The homemade hummus is amazing! Highly recommend the garden falafel.
I absolutely love the food here, I used to go a couple times a week and now that I don't live in Vancouver I miss it so much!! Anyone who says its disgusting should just stick to McDonald's because they obviously don't like tasting real vegetables and spices in their meals. I recommend the Najib special wrap with falafel or steak with lots of hummus. I'm currently drooling on my keyboard.
Beautiful interior, very clean, we had exceptional service and our lunch came in under 20 minutes. It does seem to get crowded as there is not much leg room and tables are close together. Food tasted divine.
Vegan options!
The special is outstanding.
Good falafels and hummus.
Lovely place! Food is well served and tasty. Vegan & Gluten Free options available. Definitely a must.
Chicken wrap was pretty standard, but my vegan friends enjoyed the falafel wrap and lentil plate very much.
Nice menu, lots of healthy and veggie options. Tasty food, balanced, not too risky and well presented. Friendly and helpful service. Be careful with the waiting time inline, though
Like most Nuba locations the food is very good. It's a bit of a small location though and the music can be a bit loud if you want to have a chat.
Good prices, and the food tasted as good as it looked!
Loved my time at Nuba. The servers were very kind, the food was amazing and the ambiance was splendid!
Too costly for average quality dinner. The main dish was just like a side dish
Great food, small and intimate but quite noisy
Delicious foods, easily shared, delightful decor with a pastel palette that complements the colourful dishes
Tasty food & nice service. Always enjoy their hummus.
The Mediterranean food is so tasty here.i have been to this place numerous of times for lunch and dinner and it is always sooooo good!
I live this resturant. Good choices for vegans, and good health food. Pricy but serving size is quite large.
Crumy and overpriced but staff were friendly.
Horrible food and overpriced. It's middle eastern food made for Canadians. What's up with the whole wheat rice and pita? I'm so disappointed.
Love it! Food vibe! Great food! Amazing people!
Falafel was dry and didn’t have much flavor
Decent food. Very expensive for what you get. Cramped seating
