Came here with a group of girls for a bachelorette and had an amazing experience. The service was exceptional. I had emailed to do a group booking and Tessa was amazing, thorough, and welcoming. Our server at the restaurant, managers, food runners, etc were all warm, kind, and engaging. The food was delicious, unique, and a great experience. Would highly recommend.

Shaun Prince

Amazing meal, in an amazing ambiance, with deserts that will hit every taste bud. Recommend sitting at the chefs tables as it really shows you the care and precision of this restaurants team of chefs. Get the tortellini!

Justin Niki

Fantastic. I had to go back twice more in 10 days in Vancouver. The sommelier was very helpful choosing from the many wines and the food was absolutely spectacular. The best (fresh!!!) tomato (creamy!) ricotta (plus leaves with a hint of lime and chili) salad ever! Loved the tuna. Pizzas are great too!

Patrick Chatterton

One of the best meals I have ever had! Our server was great, knowledgeable and more than happy to answer questions and add suggestions.

A.J. Fenton

go for ambience. fusion style dishes good for a group to share. they have tables on ground flr and on second flr. i wish they had more variety for draft beer (more focused on wine and cocktails).

Morgan Ayres

The food was wonderful, the restaurant is gorgeous. Lovely atmosphere and our servers were friendly and the experience was relaxed we loved it! We had a small issue with our reservation when we checked in, but it was quickly resolved.

This was the first place we visited in our trip to Vancouver to have food right after airport. So our first impression of Vancouver. The food was good. But I am giving only 1 star because of the way they treated us. We asked for a table for 2 of us, and they only offered fireplace table (not a proper table) or bar. Only when we insisted they offered a proper table upstairs. They had many empty tables and it wasn’t even a busy time ( most tables were empty). It gave me the impression that they somehow don’t want us to be there ( I hope it wasn’t because of our skin color or tired appearance). Very disrespectful experience.

I love this place! Everytime I'm here I enjoy the ambiance so much and of course the food - we try new things everytime and mostly it is a delicious surprise

Aakash Saani

Enjoyed a wonderful evening thanks to the friendly staff.

Sky Agent

Excellent all around - host, wait staff, vibe, ambiance. Food was fantastic, good variety, well presented and tastes great. Cuisine is higher-end tapas (sharing) style, but at reasonable prices.

Kim Wickens

Good food, surprisingly large. Good for larger groups if you make a reservation ahead of time. The cost is fairly expensive for quantity of some dishes, but overall it’s a great spot that will accommodate most tastes and wants.

Friday night was our first time at nightgale. It was very busy, but we had a reservation and were sat promptly. The server Victoria was amazing. The food was delicious and the desserts were fantastic (go for the salted caramel, it was a hit at our table). The food is served in a way to encourage sharing so make sure you try many different dishes. Will definitely be back!

Barb Wild

Went to Nightingale for a Friday lunch with my colleagues. The place is really great and offers a pleasant welcoming service. The menu has great salad options (my favourite was definitely the apple salad), pizzas and pastas including options for vegans and vegetarians!

Came to visit a friend from university that is part of the wine team, Andreas, and would come back any time, for any reason. The dinner was the best we had in the 3 nights we spent in Vancouver. Not only did we leave full but there wan't a single item that we had that wasn't spot on delicious. The BC sparkling wine that we had to start was a very wonderful surprise since we didn't even know that BC had any sparkling wines. Andreas made great individual wine recommendations to the tastes of all of us at the table and our server, whose name escapes me, helped us through the menu expertly. We ordered a number of dishes, which he helped us do so we wouldn't miss any must try items, to share and he paired them and coursed them out perfectly. He had a new bartender shadowing him that night and when I asked about a whisk(e)y for after dinner he brought her over and she seemed to be in her element. She gave just enough tasting notes that I knew what to expect but also left some for me to discover. An amazing experience overall and now Nightingale is a restaurant that will be visited every time we are in Vancouver.

Food was nothing special, the best dish was dessert. The best thing about our meal was that we had a lot of vegetarian options and the service were great. The worst thing about our meal was the mediocre food that I feel has been hyped up. The salad we had was just strange...the menu said it had autumn greens, but when it came, it ended up being cabbage? I mean, you’re not wrong...cabbage can be harvested in the fall...but the flavours just did not complement each other. Same goes for the brussel sprouts that came with green apples and tahini, the flavours just seemed to not go well together. The fancy avocado dip with “salsa” that came with flatbread was just glorified avocado mash with chilli oil. Call me unrefined or say I have poor taste, but this place is not it if you want good food. I would’ve given it 2 stars for food, but it Nightingale saves itself with its service, interior design, and dessert. Come for drinks, desserts, or ambiance...but not for the food.

Perry

Great food. Fried chicken. Halibut Ceviche. Semifreddo and salted carmel mousse. Great service.

Chelsea Adams

Tapas style - great for sharing which means you want to having a few more people in your group allows for trying more items. Really cool atmosphere - I sat downstairs which I believe is probably less noisy. Food flavoring is on the stronger side.

Hands down my favourite restaurant in Vancouver. The pasta is all hand-made, and it is absolutely fantastic. The pizzas are also extraordinarily good. Who am I kidding, I love everything they put on the menu here. The menu itself changes often, so they keep things interesting for the patrons (and the chefs, too, I am sure). Great spot for a date. Impeccable COVID protocols, as well. For the quality of what you are getting, this is priced just right (also for Vancouver standards). You can tell there is passion and experience at work in this place. Could not recommend it enough.

Jas Bhachu

I come here because my girlfriend likes the pizza and the jalapeno spaghetti thing, it is good food and designed as a shareable plate. Bring your partner, pizza is good stuff.

rosie nguyen

Gorgeous restaurant from the inside and out. Tapas style, four of us ordered up to five dishes to share???? Outlook: ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Price:???????????? Taste: ???????????????? Service:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

W “Dualpittypower”

I have been to Nightingale half a dozen times and it just keeps getting better and better. The staff are friendly and we'll informed on the menu. The menu is flavourful, creative and fresh with options for all appetites and tastes. This is one of my top recommended restaurants in Vancouver. You should definitely check it out!

JM (OU812)

Had the fried chicken and lamb skewers. Both were delicious! My server was fantastic. She was funny and made my experience at Nightingale awesome! I will be back again.

Oli

Decent experience. Tried 5-6 dishes and tasted amazing! But portions are ridiculously tiny compare to the price.

Jennifer Croft

Everything was wonderful! My wife and I came here for our 1-year anniversary on the knowledge that this restaurant was a spin-off from Chef Hawksworth. The food was delicious, as expected, and the price is fair for the small plates meant for sharing - I recommend the Roasted Brussel Sprouts and the Charred Lamb Chops. For dessert, the Salted Caramel is to die for ????

Jessica Garcie

Great place for family style dining. Great selection and variety of dishes. Highlights for me were the pork belly, hanger steak, fried chicken. Great atmosphere and service. Best to go in bigger groups so that you can try more of the delicious menu.

Chloe Rachel

It’s either SO good, or completely missed the spot. The “prosciutto mint” salad... is not a salad. Not sure what it is however, I wouldn’t recommend that. Sticky pudding.. also not so good, more like icky pudding. It wasted too boozy. Meinhardt has a WAY better sticky pudding for less $ and it’s a massive portion. Now the positives; their cocktails are the bomb, they don’t have frangelico or fireball in the bar but instead they carry very unique vodkas and gin.. espresso martini 100%, Jas-Mint 100%, I also recommend their fried chicken wow! The atmosphere of the restaurant is beautiful and their bathrooms smell SO good. Weird huh, but seriously check them out.

Erik Wiik

Amazing atmosphere, phenomenal food and a+ service. Books up so make reservations in advance - you won't regret it!

Dan Tait

Went out for chefs table dine out with friends. It was family style dining and the atmosphere was great! Our waiter was absolutely amazing! The food was mostly great but some of them just good level. Hope they will step up their game.

Jay Jung

Amazing food and staff. Obviously more expensive than the average restaraunt since it is higher class. In my opinion, the quality of food and service is a huge bargain for the additional price. My favourite items are the apple pork belly and fried chicken. The cabbage is also very good since I normally despise vegetables but couldn’t stop eating their’s.

Rohan Ellis

We enjoyed all aspects of the restaurant. Food is shareable, great quality, very tasty. Portions are about the right size for sharing for 2 people. Service was excellent. We also enjoyed sitting at the bar for a before dinner drink. Overall restaurant ambiance is a great mix of casual, chic, and "city". We look forward to a return visit.

Irena M

Chic and elegant venue for many occasions. Large space: has tables upstairs and downstairs. Good good selection: pizza, salads and mains. This place does not serve brunch nor are there any breakfast foods on the menu so don’t get set on eating eggs ???????? Reservations are highly recommended esp on weekends. Pay parking on the street (limited).

We had a Nightingale-to-go dinner kit purchased through Legends Haul. It really was fantastic. Amazed that they could pull this together and make it so easy and delicious. Well done!!

Travelling T

Everything was amazing. I wish I was dining with another person so that I could have ordered more dishes. I went with octopus and the zucchini based on the recommendation of the bartender. The flavors were perfect, the octopus grilled well, and the pesto in the zucchini amazing. I went with a Malort cocktail and was very impressed with the mixture. The dessert was also very good. Staff was friendly and helpful

Alice Chang

Went here for dinner a few weeks ago and have nothing but great things to say about this place. My girlfriend and I arrived a bit early for our reservation (which I recommend), so we were given a seat at the bar, but not before the hostess …

This was our first visit to Nightengale and WOW! It’s amazing! Beautiful ambiance, excellent service and delicious food. We had a mix up with our reservation (100% our fault) and they went above and beyond to accommodate us. We will definitely be back! Some things to try on the menu: beet salad, mushroom pizza, butternut squash, fried chicken, braised pork, and every dessert was exquisite!

Willy Lien

Outstanding! We sat in one of the booths that face the cooking area upstairs. It was really fun to watch the food being prepared. The server that we had was exceptional, he had a great knowledge of the dishes and drink. I highly recommend this place!

Guillaume Tremblay

Food is great, service was amazing and the restaurant was beautiful. We ordered 6 plates, appetizers, mains and a dessert and our bill was only about $100. Super high quality good food for really good price I was surprised.

Nidhi Sharma

Went here 2 times so far and love this place! Great customer service, food and drinks. Their fried chicken is a must try! Delicious pizza is another great dish. All of their cocktails are very strong but my favorite is Bramble.

Claudia Bastien

We went to Nightingale last night at around 6:15. We had to show up at the restaurant just to put our names on the waiting list since they don't accept waitlist over the phone. The hostess said wait time is around 2.5 hrs, however table was ready by around 7:40. So either make reservation or expect a long wait. Considering that long wait, I would say food was good but not surprisingly good. We ordered baba ghanouj, grilled broccolini, braised pork cheeks. Pork cheeks were tasty but the sauce and garnish tasted a but too strong. Baba ghanouj was good and I would order it again if I visit next time. Brpccolini was good, but the bottom part was not fully cooked. Top was good, so if they cooked the bottom first in boiling water, it would have definitely tasted better. We had to cut the bottom because some of it was too thick and didn't taste good. Atmosphere and service was good so still 4 stars. However I don't think I will go back here considering the price, food, and the wait time. There are just too many other great options available in Vancouver.

Nicole Young

Very nice ambiance and decoration, the service is pretty good too. We ordered the roasted cauliflower with salsa verde which was quite tasty, the lamb sausage pizza which I would have preferred a bit crunchier, the duck lasagna which was very tasty but a bit too heavy for my taste and the big miss was the bone marrow where the flavor was totally eclipsed by the vinaigrette onions. The panna cotta we had for desset was refreshing but the presentation wasn’t the nicest.

Maryam Ahmadi

Had an amazing dinner here. Everything was share plates so we chose a ton of plates and shared between all of us. It was a great way to try a bunch of different foods and it was all so good! Would come back here for sure.

Tracy Lau

Great food as usual at a very reasonable price. Service was excellent and their cleaning protocol is great during COVID time.

MANBIR RANDHAWA

To be honest, everything was incredible. The food was excellent (a touch salty for the pork belly and scallops) but the flavors were sublime. The pace felt just right and we were never rushed, even though we had to surrender our table we still had two hours to enjoy. The cocktails were just the right portion. I recommend the pizza especially if you like to share. Definitely will return!!

Deionator A

Service is excellent. The brussel sprouts, lamb, and bone marrow was average. This pizza was quite good. Flavors and the seasoning overwhelms the main dishes.

Paul Friesen

I love this place for a few reasons: 1. Beautiful interior design- it is designed by a famous design firm, Studio Munge 2. Easy to get to- SkyTrain, Bus, walk or drive 3. Fantastic service- upscale, very well trained staff and friendly 4. The FOOD!!! They are famous for their pizzas (I have never had them) but I would recommend their salads, bone marrow, or anything you see on the menu hahaha

Jesse Ghiorzi

Great food, great service, great drinks!

Jacqueline Lai

the place was really really nice on the inside and has such a cool ambience. Firstly there was no covid spacing at the bar where I was sat. I was elbow to elbow with other guests. I happened to be there during happy hour and ordered the beet salad. It was very interesting because it had everything but the bagel seasoning on it? Nothing mind blowing about this salad in fact it almost felt like there wasn’t much of a flavour to it. I also got the side of fries as well and they were alright. maybe something off the regular menu would explain why this place is the place to be! The service was good.

Cerra Gelz

We went to Nightingale a few weeks ago for our anniversary. We had heard good things and we were not disappointed. We ordered a number of different share plates from the vegetables, share plates and larger plates. Everything tasted amazing! The service was great. Both of George and Clay went out of their way to make our anniversary special. Thanks we will definitely be back!

Federica Romano Giampuzzi

One of my top favorite places to eat in Vancouver. I absolutely love to bring out of town guests here to try all of the amazing and unique shared plates. Something about Nightengale really stands out from most other places in downtown Vancouver. Plus the decor/atmosphere is really quite nice. Always a great night at Nightengale.

This was my first time at nightingale and it was absolutely fantastic! The drink were amazing as well as the food! We got the hanger steak and it was delicious! Probably one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver. I will definitely be coming back

Laura Kastrup

LOVED this restaurant! I enjoyed a 3 hour Sunday brunch with some old friends. Since the dishes are family style we each picked a couple to share with the table. The plates were delivered one a time so we could really savor each dish. The flavors and textures were incredible. The combinations seemed unusual on a menu, but were delightful on the palate! Wait staff were helpful and attentive. The ambiance was relaxed and comfortable. I didn't sample any of their cocktails, but judging from the very well stocked bar, I'm certain they would have been tasty too! Pro tip: save room for the salted caramel pots de creme! They are heaven in a mason jar!!

Anna Haus

Had 2 really good dishes, the cauliflower and the pumpkin and ricotta stuffed tortellini. Actually more than good, they were excellent. I was disappointed with their Ceviche and Caesars. Nice place, cozy and very relaxing.

Juliano Peuckert

Very nice ambiance of the place and great service. We were a group of ten and went with the assumption that we would be ordering individual meals. But we were pleasantly surprised when we were served with courses of various shared meals from their menu and all of us could taste multiple different items. Everything tasted very fresh and savoury. Would go back for sure.

Ashley

Beautiful restaurant, soothing ambience and delicious food to compliment the great service we received. I appreciate the family style food orders. Highly recommend the buttermilk fried chicken ????

Joachim Wu

The service here was impeccable but the food was a real let down. There is a refusal to alter any dish, in any way because "it wouldn't be the way the chef intended it to be." Now I understand copious substitutions can basically create a new dish and that can make a kitchen difficult to run but to refuse to not sprinkle bacon pieces on top of a sweet potato so a vegetarian could eat it smacks of arrogance to me. And when you're serving 6/10 food at best that arrogance is inexcusable. Can someone politely remind Chef that half their menu is pizza and tell them to get over themselves?

Wilson Lin

Absolutely delicious. I come here every time I have the chance. Some of my favourite dishes are the Buttermilk Fried Chicken, their Pork Belly, and their Cauliflower. Top food, top service, and top value.

Tyler Tamplen

First visit was great! Food exceeded my expectations for sure. Our server seemed a bit off but otherwise service was good. Atmosphere was great too. Much louder than I thought but it is downtown. I would recommend sitting upstairs for sure. I’d definitely go back.

Cynthia Medrano

I've been here a few times and it's been pretty inconsistent, but tonight it was really good. Service was great, food was perfectly cooked and seasoned, phenomenal drinks selection. Great job! Please keep the standards as high as tonight!

Marina Guy

Excellent service and amazing food. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. Our server was very knowledgeable about the food and drink offerings, making some lovely suggestions. The service though… probably the best we’ve ever had at a restaurant. Thank you for such a special meal!

Fouad Zarifeh

Great family style dining for groups. Needed to purchase a lot of plates for everyone to be filled, so it was pricey. Great decor, atmosphere and knowledge staff. Would definitely go again! Also a good spot for cocktails and dessert.

Tyson Tuttle

I really had fun at this diner, the food is fantastic, as well as the restrooms were tidy. It was a little cold inside, so that was not perfect. The waiter is awesome as well. I will most definitely take into consideration going back once again if I ever land the chance. Me as well as my close friend purchased the special as well as we were not let down. My one tip is to maintain the chilly exterior. Till next time!

Annie Do

Such a beautiful restaurant with amazing food. They have a fantastic kids menu as well. We really enjoyed the fried chicken, sweet potato, tomato salad and more. Service is excellent. We will definitely be back.

Ronnie Fuentes

Lovely service. We didn't have a reservation so we sat in the lounge for only about 10 mins before they found us a table. We ordered our food in the lounge and by the time we got to our table the 1st two dishes arrived. Albacore Tuna and the grilled octopus. We waited a bit longer for the last two dishes. Bone Marrow and meat balls. Both were fantastic. The buttery texture of the bone marrow on the crunchy bread was fantastic. The meat balls were so moist and the sauce was fantastic. Beautiful space and fantastic food. Bit of a higher price but it's worth it.

Arshia M

Excellent food and service!!! Great dishes and wonderful cocktails. Bone marrow was awesome. So was the gniocci, hunger steak and meatballs. Really great restaurant. Oh, and its a beautiful place.

sam auerbach

Incredible dining experience, one of the very best in town. The food was sublime, the decor is beautiful, and the service was outstanding. Special shout out to our server Steph who made our night top notch. Definitely recommend coming here, perfect for whatever occasion.

Nancy Zenger

Been here many times and the food is always consistent and good!

Sophia

Came here to celebrate my anniversary with my boyfriend. The hostess and our waiter Brandon made the night so amazing. The food was absolutely delicious and our drinks were perfect. We'll definitely be coming back to celebrate again!

Matt Jackman Wong

One of my favourite places in the Lower Mainland. We come here whenever we have company in town and to celebrate most special occasions. It has a stunning interior, paired with incredible food and delicious cocktails. We have always had perfect service, with a serving team that is genuine, knowledgeable and efficient. Groups of 4-6 is the perfect size here for friends who love to share an assortment of mouth watering flavours. The fried chicken, hanger steak, arctic char and pizzas have to be our group's favourite items. All of the pastas are always amazing. Most recently, we fell in love with their duck ragu pasta dish. Oh, and don't even get me started on the salted pot de creme. Get it.

Ati Jahan

Food experience at Nightingale was the highlight of my recent North America west coast trip. Love the atmosphere, I still reminisce the dessert today even when I’m back at home in Sydney, Australia.

D BR

Well prepared food but didn't find it amazing at the high price range. Service was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was leaning towards the loud side because of how packed the place was on Sat night. Great place for appys and long drink menu. A co-worker or high energy night out kind of restaurant.

Jim Saunders

Can't say enough about this amazing restaurant. Servers are top notch, yet laid back, food is absolutely signature Hawksworth. The combination of flavours and textures are spot on. If you are wanting a quiet, or more formal dinner, ask to be seated up stairs and if you are a party of two and fancy some dinner entertainment, you may want to request one of the 3 kitchen side tables. On top of very high quality and service standards, the bill probably won't leave you breaking the bank in comparison to some of the other fine dining restaurants in Vancouver. Certainly worth a visit.

Evan Shao

Great service and food tastes good. Love the environment. Reasonable price.

Anson Li

Amazing food. Fried chicken was unreal. We had a group of 15 and had to split up tables (13 max). They have a order off the menu option but we went with their group dinning menu and let the waiter choose for us. 10

I would LOVE to give 5 stars, because I love the restaurant, the food is excellent, the service is great, and I disagree with the fact that reviews say that this place is not kid friendly because I think it is, however, the reason I did not get five stars, despite the excellent cocktails and high-quality food, is the fact that they will not make any modifications whatsoever to something as simple as a pizza. I wanted to have no cheese on half of a pizza and they said that was not possible. doing something as simple as using no cheese on half of a pizza shouldn't be a big deal.

PY YS

Came in for an early dinner at 4:30 and chanced upon happy hour as well - 4-5:30. We had the apple salad, grilled broccolini, baba ghanouj, margherita pizza and the olives. I tried the paper plane 2.0 and the walnut old fashioned. Very chic decor. Tables are nicely spaced out.

Alan King Bowden

Went here for dinner a few weeks ago and have nothing but great things to say about this place. My girlfriend and I arrived a bit early for our reservation (which I recommend), so we were given a seat at the bar, but not before the hostess offered to take our coats - a very nice touch! I was immediately struck by the beautiful aesthetic of this place - high ceilings and just a rather refined look could be seen everywhere. In keeping with the name of the restaurant, there's a really charming, artfully arranged display of bird cages higher up along one of the walls. The service was outstanding - the bartender, the man who seated us, our waiter, the woman who greeted us - all exceptionally friendly and welcoming in their demeanour, and the food we ordered was out reasonably promptly. And wow, this food! I had three dishes - the fried chicken, one of their mushroom pizzas, and a pasta dish that I can't quite recall the name of. All of the dishes were so delicious - savoury, rich, and extremely flavourful. The fried chicken, in particular, is some of the best I've ever had. So yeah, go here! Loved it, and would gladly go back.

charu pahuja

Where to begin? Let’s say that the food is indeed OK. I did enjoy the gnocchi, and you should try this. But you deserve a better experience than this mismanaged restaurant offers. Hawksworth, the higher-end restaurant has less pretentious staffing, owned by the same chef, and I believe you get better a much better experience and value for money there. The reception, bussers and drinks staff at nightingale are real, but the wait staff are a poor experience. The restaurant pitches itself as family style restaurant where food comes-out-as-its-ready. OK. But must we, and from looking around at nearby tables all of the other tables I was able to observe, eat each dish singly? When was the last time your family-style thanksgiving was served one dish at a time? I do not want to eat a full dish of spare ribs in its entirety before moving on to the brussel sprouts. If every Chinese restaurant within a 5 mile radius of this restaurant can fill up a table full of tasty dishes fairly quickly and consistently, then something is very wrong with the management of the back end here. The wine list. Oh. My. Goodness. Are they taking us for fools? Minimally marked up 300%, no lesser markup for more expensive wines. They’re all largely average or poor drinking experiences. Stop filling your ‘cellar’ with sub-par Okanagan turpentine and get some drinkable Australian and New Zealand genuinely tasty stuff that will cost you absolutely the same. The 5 Oceanian bottles (see the list I uploaded with this review) are slightly better but there exist still much better bottles if you only do the smallest amount of research! In an effort to get out of here, we decided to take dessert to go to get back to the hotel. My wife orders the salted caramel to go, and the bill arrives with an item charge of $4 for the jar the dessert came in, that we were told the kitchen staff applied. I can accept that a real jar does in fact cost money and it wouldn’t have changed the ordering process, but a common-sense heads-up would have been nice from the wait staff that an alternative dessert perhaps would have been more suitable for take-out, but upon reflection, it seems par for the course.

Christopher Mark

An amazing place for a date night and my new favourite "higher end" place. The service was exceptional and attentive. Each dish we got was delicious and different but in a good way. I think it's a very unique Canadian restaurant where they encourage sharing instead of having one dish per person. Servings are a bit small if you're a big eater, however, but the deliciousness of the food makes up for it. Can't wait to go again to try some other items.

Camilla Basil

Good selection of food, the ambiance is really nice (has a nice classical look). The food is tapa style and the pizza is brick oven Napoli style.

Teresa Li

Decor and setting is nice for a casual night out or a dressed up dinner. Menu is setup to either have separate portions or shareable plates with a group. We did the former and ordered two appetizers, two small plates, and one large plate to share for the six of us, everyone got a taste of everything and we had nothing bad to say about the wonderful eats. I recommend the Lamb Ragu, beet salad (not so easily shared because it tastes so good!), fried chicken, and the cauliflower/broccoli app. Would recommend and will be back!

Bridget Freeman

I am blown away every time I come. Incredible food, incredible cocktails and the staff just top it all off!

Daniela Conejo

We are a tough crowd to please, yet both of us were impressed. The service was professional and friendly, the menu was imaginative and varied, and the food did not disappoint. We sampled extensively across the menu and were pleased with all our choices.

Elsy Chow

Exceptional tapa restaurant. The price isn't overly crazy and you'll actually be fed to be full. The menu changes over time so you might not get the same thing each time but I think this place is great for occasional visits. The interior looks nice and the vibe is great. Weird music some times but unique. The only thing I found that was off was the saltiness - three out of the four dishes were too salty. The flavours were awesome though. Don't get me wrong. Overall, a great place to try if you haven't.

James Chen

The restaurant advocates sharing of plates.. coming from an Asian background, I find the service a bit lack luster given the price point, decor, etc.. I'm not a good expert but the food seem to come on out of order. Kale salad>sweet potato>fried chicken appy>steak>broccolini?!>pasta>pizza Also, in Chinese culture it's quite normal to change your personal plates every 1 or 2 course to make sure the previous sauces and whatnot does not contaminate the current course.. not in here.. plates are not being changed unless asked specifically.. Food was great tho. I just expect better service given the price point, that's all

Stephanie Lovell

Must try spot in Vancouver, exceptional food, sister restaurant to Hawksworth. Key dishes: Kale Salad Ceviche Fried Chicken (amazing) shishito peppers Pizza (clay oven pizza… just amazing) Rigatoni Pasta The Jas-mint cocktail is perfect. Superb cocktails by the bar team, you won’t be disappointed. Great ambiance and normally packed, so reservations are a must in advance. Perfect resto to wrap a guys weekend in Vancouver.

ginger b

Great ambiance and friendly staff. Sitting on the second level was good for people watching. Chocolate fudge cake was the highlight of the meal. The mushroom pizza was the perfect size and the roasted garlic was a nice touch but overall the pizza was too salty.

Will Ollerhead

I've been here several times over the year. Each one of them was a blast. The food and drinks are amazing, service fast and reliable and a a bonus the bill is much lower than you would expect from a place of this caliber.

Fardad Moayeri

Superb surprise in radiant, vibrant Vancouver. We adore this city and to find this new-to-us-delightful-somewhat-hidden restaurant was such magic! Thoughtful, flavorful vegetarian options, fantastic & super interesting wine list and Vancouver’s legendary laid back friendly service.

I've only dined at the chef's table but I've been twice now and the food is just divine. I find the cocktail menu a bit obscure and unappetizing but they will make whatever drink they can for you so no harm no foul there. The service is adequate and capable if not slightly inattentive (but then again, at the chef's table the menu is preset so there is less to check on). The only thing that put me off was the dress code of some of the staff who appeared sort of.. hipster-ish? Not sure if it was managemen or the sommelier.. I know, lame of me to pick that to poo-poo on but I just felt like a bit nicer dress code was in order given the atmosphere. No stars removed for my minor critiques as they are clearly just my personal preferences and I doubt anyone else would care or even notice. I would eat here day and night, again and again if money grew on trees!

What sets this restaurant apart from other fancy restaurant downtown is the pocket friendly food menu. Fancy, elegant n yet affordable is what i would like to say. David hawsworth crafted not only hawksworth restaurant menu but also nightingales. Interiors of the restaurant are amazing. Beautiful high rise ceiling with round chandeliers and lighting decor is more relaxed and yet perfect in elegance. Servers are well aware of items on the menu and what portions available. Courteous n mindful of the restrictions imposed due to covid. Opens daily from 11:00 am till midnight and serves enticing array of quality dishes n drinks. Even when we were having our meal , we saw many office goers coming here just for drinks or college friends to binge pizza. So everything from italian to crispy fried chicken is on the menu. They even offer weekly meal plan during covid 19 for frontline workers so take advantage of it guys. We had so much food today. To start roasted brussels sprouts with red grapes, pecan, sherry vinegar as a small meal under vegetables options on the menu. So good that me n my partner were fighting over the last bite. We also ordered Grilled bok choy which was good but we didn’t eat it because it had XO sauce n we both dont like the smell of it. (They didn’t charge us for that n i appreciate it) Our next order was of whipped avacado with sumac flatbread which was healthy n yummy. Apparently, we go crazy to find vegetarian items on menu and their menu is full of them. Variety of vegetarian choices n i loved them all. For me taste is build up with presentation of food and their presentation was excellent. Coconut panna cotta was our desert which was sweet and sour n butterly. Yummy yummy yummu yummy... I think i will go back to try roasted mushroom pizza as it sounds interesting to me

Love the pop-up outdoor seating. Food was delicious, in season by local suppliers. I left feeling full and satisfied. Will be back again

Wow! My husband and I had dinner at Nightingale on January 7th, and by the time we had finished, we both felt like we had just eaten "happiness"! All of the items we ordered were fabulous, and the service was delightful. We'll definitely be back. :)

Came to this restaurant based off a recommendation from my brother's friend that Nightingale is their favorite restaurant in Vancouver. I am SO happy we came here! I spent my 30th birthday at Nightingale and it was absolutely fantastic. Jason was our server and made everything fun / was very knowledgeable on the menu. I'm an annoying vegan (we're all annoying for servers, let's be honest) and they took a pen and highlighted the vegan options on a menu for me. The food was phenomenal (everyone agreed) and the drinks were delicious. The decor is exceptionally rad (antique bird cages and loft style 2nd level). I definitely will be putting this at the top of my list for my favorite restaurants in Vancouver.

Joey Fong

The food has always been absolutely top-notch. Their fried chicken might be the best fried chicken I have had!

Louie Parker

Reservations are closed on Weekends. Called them, rudely answered by "We are fully booked you can reserve for next month" or "walk-in". I went there, and the shortest time was 3.5 hours! Even if they serve good food (which I don't know yet), 0 out of 5 for not giving value to the customers. Very disappointing

Kyle F

Went with family for a birthday party. Staff was very attentive and on point. Food was fantastic. We had a some of all the small plates and shared family style, it's the way to go.

Max Grenzberg

Came in for an "early dinner". We called ahead but they had no reservations available, the place was packed so we had to wait for about 5 minutes which was surprising. Food is amazing and the pizzas are excellent. I would definitely not order the zucchini blossom pizza again though. It sounded amazing but it only had one flower for the entire pizza! So next time I will for sure go with the truffle pizza. Solid cocktails and good service. Host/hostess are a little confused and it becomes annoying but servers are awesome. Prices are on the higher end but the food is worth it. Place is a little loud for chatting and the people there are a bit snobby but if you can look past that then you can have an amazing meal and drinks!

Liza Giang

I have come to this restaurant often for special occasions and have been very happy each time. It’s the perfect place for a date or even a group of people. There is a large selection of items with plenty of vegetarian option. They have a rotating menu but I have had the best mushroom gnocchi I have ever tasted here! The friend chicken was also a hit. Would definitely recommend the cauliflower or broccoli for the smaller plates, they are cooked and filled with so much flavour! It’s great to get about 3 dishes for 2 people and it is common to share these dishes. The service is always great and the restaurant has a great atmosphere!

Michael Almeida

Nice and fun place offering smaller portions to share. All the meals need to be ordered individually to make a complete meal. Good for a group. Service is good and the ambience is neat but very mixed. Interior wise you can be confused with their vision. All in all worth trying as it’s different.

Y L

Modern interior and upscale food experience. Food ingredient combination is excellent. Family sharing style is the way to go here. Great selection s of local craft beers and complementing wines for your tastes. Menu changes frequently, better try everything. Lol :)

V P

Really good food, excellent service.

Leanne Atley

I absolutely love this place. Pork belly, gnocchi, and chicken were the top three of my orders but the rest was still very delicious. Not many restaurant can get every dish creative and good but this place can. Hostess was very welcoming and the server was decent too. Even with the restaurant being completely full, the food came out at a right timing. Cocktail I had was okay too. I would love to go back soon!!!

Mohsen S. Alikhani

A night in Vancouver, hungry and ask google for good places to eat, few reviews and hit the bar. Glorious pizza with a pale ale beer, the best pizza i had ever. great environment, good music, the level of loudness and enchant. About the pizza the dough, the burned charcoal rims, the harmony in flavor, salt and seasonings, almost religious experience. tomorrow heading same place for another try.

annemarie den harder

The food was so delicious and the staff were wonderful!!! Went for a friend's birthday and it was the perfect choice!!!

Robyn Huang

Our dining experience was exactly what we had hoped for on date night! The atmosphere was casual but inviting. The service was spectacular. Attentive and knowledgeable. They had just rolled out some new menu items that we tried so asked for our opinion for chef feedback. All the family style share plates we tried were flavorful, well thought out and delicious! We had the Uni seaweed salad, Manila clam spaghetti, mushroom medley, Bone marrow with chanterelles and lamb chops.

Caz vonKow

Can't speak to the food as I didn't even get a chance to order but interior decor was very nice. Made a reservation for 2 under my name at the restaurant, the hostess sat me upstairs. Told her I was waiting for a friend, but when said friend showed up and asked for the reservation under my name, the hostess sat her on a completely different floor than me. My phone was dead so I was unable to find her. We didn't end up having dinner or drinks there as we thought the other didn't show up. We both waited for over 30 minutes but nobody bothered to ask us what was going on.

Vivian H

Meals are served family style, which is fun with a group of friends, but might be awkward for a business dinner. Food quality and service were excellent.

Paulo Beto Roberto

Nightingale is super overrated. Alternating good food with utterly mediocre. Some food was well balanced while other was super acidic. Other food was bland and under spiced. And the wine list... Oh my gosh. Not going to throw any wineries under the bus but man... Not good. I would've thought a restaurant like this could put together a good wine list. And even for a fancy restaurant, bad wine severely overpriced.

Adam Richardson

Great food! Loved the pizza and pasta. However, the veggies were over sauced but still good.

Patrick Heffron

So delicious! We ordered a selection of dishes and shared it all and we had so much food left over! Everything about this restaurant is fantastic, from the staff, decor, and of course, the food! I was a bit sad we didn't have room for dessert. We ordered: Brussels Sprouts, Cauliflower, Mushroom Pizza, Meatballs, and the Hanger Steak. I will be adding this to my Vancouver restaurant list for future visits! Added bonus: it was only a 5 min walk from our hotel!

John K

Server was great and food was excellent. We tried everything he suggested. Must tries: fried chicken, mushroom pizza and the salted caramel creme de pot. If you like salads: watermelon salad. One thing I didn't enjoy: halibut ceviche. I've had better. Overpowering citrus.

Shir S

The interior design is excellent but the music is much too loud for a conversation. There are a handful of menu items that are difficult to comeby elsewhere. For example, the bone marrow and sunchoke dip - both were delicious, but quite pricy. Update: I returned due to convenience. The happy hour menu items I ordered were a great start but the entrees were horribly disappointing. The lamb skewers I tried (more of an appy size but I wasn’t feeling a huge meal) had an unbalanced mixture of flavours and the lamb was not tender at all. The pizza my friend ordered looked so greasy I didn’t ask to take a bite. It had prosciutto on it but I suppose they baked it and it turned out more like bacon, so not fresh tasting at all. Another ordered the risotto which was the star of the show. As a side note - some of the worst service I’ve received in a long time. My first visit was fine so this was likely a fluke, but the main server did not want to be there. Even when another server dropped off our food she rushed through the explanation I had to ask her to repeat mine slower - she gave an exasperated sigh and started again lol.

JG

This is a beautiful restaurant! We got lucky and snatched up a walk-in table on a late Saturday night even though they were fully booked (as seems to be the case for them normally). We got the Margherita pizza, Rigatoni, and the Wild mushroom risotto. Everything was delicious except for the risotto, which I found to be waaayyyy too salty. The drinks weren’t all that great either. We got a chocolate and caramel sundae, which was very good although I could’ve done without the candied pecan. The service was mediocre (our server was a bit standoffish) but the food and decor definitely make up for it. This is a wonderful restaurant to go to if you’re celebrating something special. We’ll definitely be back!

Jin K

Food is either too salty or over cooked, have been here before, food tasted way better. This time was a total disappointment, especially you have to wait for 20 mins to get a desert you may only need two mins to prepare. I wouldn't recommend this place to any of my friends base on this experience.

Chanelle Dupre

What a gorgeous two level restaurant. Tastefully elegant and minimalist chic. The food is absolutely delicious and leaves you wanting for nothing. We shared the pork cheek dish, brussel sprouts and the lovely twist on a Hawaiian pizza. Well proportioned for two people with plenty left for a snack later. Thank you Deanna for fantastic service, the perfect level of attention without hovering. And to the bartender whose name we didn't catch for lovely wine service. The Cheateau des tour Gamay is a must have accompaniment to the evening.

Mojgan

The food left more to be desired and didn’t live up to its high price. The waiting staff wasn’t cold but did the bare minimum. The pizza is good

Liana Huang

Our dining tonight was beyond my expectation. We are extremely happy and satisfied. We will come back soon.

Jessie Hu

Good food, but limited choice. Selection and restaurant ambience not matching the price you pay. Portions are pretty small as well. I would only recommend the pizza.

Tasha Schermerhorn

Nice cafe. Very tasty food and friendly service

Captain Chris

Had an amazing time at Nightingale. Great decor, friendly service and delicious food. The drinks were pretty yummy as well. Definitely one of my favourites.

Simply The Best Luisa Marshall Show

5 star all the way. 100% satisfied. We have eaten here numerous times for both lunch and dinner. The cocktails are excellent. I have been with my husband, girlfriends and even my baby and each time we had excellent service. This is presently my favourite restaurant in Vancouver because they do EVERYTHING right every time.

sherona khan

Enjoyed the tasting table at Nightingale on my first night in Vancouver. I was not disappointing and the chef would stop by every now and again to let me know different things about the menu. Great place with delicious food!

Neil Power

Certainly a favourite of mine. I picked up a dinner for my wife and I and we really enjoyed it. Fried Chicken ????, Brussel Sprouts, fancy pizza it’s all good ????

David Finlay

Had excellent service, and excellent food. Easily some of the tastiest vegetable dishes around are being served here with flavour combinations that work really well. The desserts were also quite good!

Paul Fraser Personal Real Estate Corporation

Great selection of small and large plates - perfect for both large and small groups. Highly recommended.

Tara Elizabeth

Nightingale was fantastic. From the warm service to the delicious food, nearly everything about it was perfect. …

Shirley

We just had a wonderful, and memorable, birthday dinner for my husband tonight. The food was amazing. Loved the every single dish that we had. The standouts were the lamb skewers (I normally hate lamb), bone marrow, beef tartare, and pot de creme... gnocchi... everything!!!! We would like to thank our wonderful sommelier for sharing his knowledge and going out of his way for us!

Harry

Family style dinning with a very unique twist. The food is amazing and their service is world class! Ask to have a wine expert to help you choose something - that was a great experience! Looking for a place for a date or bring friends for a celebration, this is a great place!

Justin Plosz

As a local, I love this place. Elegant, but still casual enough for a weeknight dinner. Family style share plates are best and my favorite was the cauliflower. So good!

Hamed

One of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had. The tapas were all amazing and the waiter we had was very friendly and great with suggesting order numbers and plate sizes. The food was fantastic and well worth the price. You have to do yourself a favour and try this place. I have never had a sunchoke so good, potatoes made so well, or breaded cheese so nice. As someone who loves sharing at restaurants it was an exceptional experience and I can't recommend it enough.

I went with friends for a belated birthday dinner. We ordered several dishes to share. Top ones for me were the mushrooms, pizza and pot du creme. The ceviche and pasta were a little odd. The pasta was all over the map cookwise, some pieces al dente and others quite hard. Like half the noodles were immersed and the other half not. Service was great though, appreciated the server's recommendations. I plan to be back in better times.

Kam Tafreshi

I love everything about this place, food, service and ambiance. The food is meant to be shared with the table, so might not be your thing if you aren't into that... the staff was exceptionally helpful at explaining the format and making suggestions that work with the items that appeal to you as well as overall quantity. We had oysters, Apple Walnut salad, Roasted Brussel Sprouts, and Pork Cheeks... everything was excellent.

bean

Great decor which is what the 2 stars are for. Sadly that's where it ends. We ordered the steak, cauliflower dish and the duck pasta dish. The steak was on the tougher side with a word after taste, the duck pasta dish was like eating hamburger helper made with duck instead of hamburger and the cauliflower we were advised by the waitress to order and we weren't sad we did. Hands down the best part of the meal. We spent a bit more than $100 for food and a glass of wine each, so the price wasn't bad, but the food was horrible. Won't ever eat the again and don't recommend.

Elizabeth Goldstone

Today is the first time I come here. The food is fantastic. The staffs are great. They always ask how the food taste and help you choose the menu. I will come again regularly

tom ng

This place has a good vibe! I went there for lunch and it wasn’t too busy. The restaurant has a fine dining feel with affordable price. Food are good for sharing.

Ray K

Excellent atmosphere and unbelievably fast service. Dining was cramped in some areas but didn't bother me at all. The food was tasty and had a very unique palate

Ido Naim

Wow super delicious! Everything I had tasted amazing. I can't even pick a favorite dish because everything was so good. I love their beautiful interior. The service was great and I had a really good time. Would like to go back more often but I am usually wearing jeans and a baseball hat and it is a little too fancy for that. Will definitely go back again.

Amanda Bacaleinick

Every dish was amazing and the server was fantastic! Thank you for a great evening. I recommend going with at least 4 people so you can try more dishes, we went with 6 and there was more than enough of each dish for sharing.

Awesome service! The fried chicken is superb, kanpachi & grilled hanger steak is a must try. Glad we still had room for the sticky tofee & salted caramel pot de creme desert. Nice ambiance. My new favourite restaurant. We'll be back for sure!

Stopped by for an after work meeting and food. Place was busy, but they managed to find us some seats. GM Tyler took the time to stop by and help is select some great dishes. Old Fashioned was excellent.

We went to Nightingale without a reservation and were seated at a brightly lit table right in front of the kitchen. It was really fun to watch the cooks prepare all of the dishes and see everything that came out. We ordered the fried …

Alejandro Yanes-Pawlowski

We had very mixed impressions about this place. The cocktails are very good, but the food is shockingly bad. If anyone thinks the food here is good... you must have bad taste. The vegetables were drowned in reduced sherry, giving everything a sickly sherry flavour. The vegetables were also practically black, partly from overcooking and partly from the sherry reduction. How can you mess up roasted brussels?! The white cabbage was awful. They served it with a big fat raw stem which had obviously been cooked with the thin leaves... So, I wonder why the cook didn't know that the thin leaves would cook faster?! Just bizarre. The wild boar was ok, but there was barely any of it. Most of it was this bland pasta, again drowning in some kind of equally bland sauce. The pork belly was nice, but there was too much of it, ironically. It was served with raw apple slices... Not apple sauce, but raw apples. This seemed lazy and simply didn't work. There were also breadcrumbs underneath, which was awful. Pork belly with raw apples and breadcrumbs... The service was ok. I felt bad for our server. What can you do if the food is bad? She cancelled our white cabbage after we complained about it and the kitchen confirmed it wasn't how it should be served. By this point, we just wanted to go back to the bar and enjoy the drinks. Overall, go here for drinks, but don't eat here... not unless you think Earl's or the Cactus Club are good, in which case, you'd probably enjoy this.

Mahsoo Naderi

The staff were very nice and friendly. Everything was great in here. The interior, food and vibe. The butter milk chicken was perfect. Pizza was delicious too!

Joelle Jo

I haven’t eaten all that food on one occasion, just to be precise. I went to nightingale three times while being in Vancouver. They have really interesting and what is decisive always tasteful food. It’s furthermore of good and superb quality. If restaurants will ever have five Michelin stars, this one would deserve it.

D Chan

I've walked past Nightingale many times headed to work. Without previous knowledge one would never know that Nightingale was a restaurant. With it's minimal exterior, it looks more like a heritage building than a restaurant. I went here with my wife for our 1 year anniversary and it was surprisingly affordable for the quality of food and ambience you're getting. For under $100 after tip and tax, we were able to get 4 dishes and 2 desserts. The highlight of the night was their buttermilk chicken which could be my favourite fried chicken from an upscale restaurant. Nightingale is a must go for anyone who wants a quiet, relaxing and affordable place to bring your loved ones.

Justin Chopra

My girlfriend and I went for a pizza as we heard that the restaurant has one of the best Italian pizzas in Vancouver. This is true, however the pizza was not extraordinary - it was very, very flavorful but we’ve had better pizzas in our lives. Nonetheless, is definitely worth it to try it, especially if you intend to enjoy a delicious yet laidback dinner in a very elegant place. The restaurant is surely nice for a date.

Giulio

Nice service and great atmosphere. The fried chicken was incredible!

Keegan Falk

Such a nice surprise. I discovered this place by chance, and I was very impressed: high level fine dining, without being too expensive. I recommend the Arctic char and the fried chicken. Efficient and neat service.

Sonu S

I love this place! Downstairs feels more formal; if you can, get a table facing the open kitchen (two sit facing the kitchen and watching the prep and cooking) - it's a lot of fun to watch, but you will smell like the kitchen after. The food is great! The cocktails are good and there's a great wine and beer menu.

Virginia Huffman

Service is good, ordered 6 dishes, duck lasagna, mushroom pizza, meatballs, beet salad, roasted brussel sprouts and arctic char. Only thing I really didnt like was the best salad as it was way too sour, I just dont like too tart food.

Caryn Liberman

Great place to split different entrées with friends or coworkers. A couple of coworkers and I went here for dinner and were blown away by the fried chicken! But you really can’t go wrong with any of the items on the menu. Go check them out! I highly suggest reservations.

Ronnie Hung

Visited Nightingale for dinner last night and was slightly disappointed by the experience. I was really looking forward to their food and expected to give them 5 stars, but it just didn’t hit for me. The service was good, and some of the dishes were really special (tortellini and hangar steak), the rest of what we tried was just ‘meh’, and I was quite disappointed by the carrot cake dessert. Nightingale is a good overall experience, but for the prices cannot give them more than a 4.

kryzell

Great restaurant with lots of options. Pizza isnt the best, salads were awesome. Service was odd, we were never asked if we wanted more drinks the entire meal.

Zoom Cool

Such a wonderful restaurant! More upscale but still has a casual feel to it. Fresh ingredients made the meal brighter and better and the service by all servers and hosts alike were exceptional and went beyond and above their call of duty. The food was impeccable. In particular, the rabbit pizza, and arctic char. I could not recommend this place any more for a fancier night out or even just a casual dinner while Downtown. Make reservations, however, as the place can get pretty busy especially on Fridays and the weekends.

TOM H

Decent experience. Tried 5-6 dishes and tasted amazing! But portions are ridiculously tiny compare to the price.

Greg Andruff

Such great food, service, and ambience. My husband and I had an amazing time, to say the least. We sat at the bar and our bartenders (Skylar and Tim) were great! We will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a great experience!

Emily

One our our favorite restaurant ! We visited Vancouver for a few days and we went 3 times to the Nightingale ! Attentive service. Small dishes to share, wonderful ambiance, decor, staff, and we loved just watching the brigade do their thing in the kitchen, well done ! Fantastic pasta, pizza, oven roasted veggies, nice cocktails, we love it all !

Jessica Hilton

Family styled/tapas menu to satisfy our indecisive tummies! Our waiter recommended 6 different dishes, as we were 4 people, and every single dish that he recommended was DELICIOUS!! I wish I had a bigger stomach to keep trying the rest of the menu because everything was to die for! They don’t do any item substitutions, but the waiter was so beyond knowledgeable he recommended something similar but just as interesting instead. The cocktail selection was large and satisfied everyone’s taste. Don’t skip out your chance to eat here, make that reservation :) save room for dessert, the Salted caramel pot de creme was heaven in a little mason jar

Jayson Araja

Great place for food. Tapas style food, so you end up spending a little more, but the quality of the food is fantastic. The meatballs were not great, but the rest of the dishes I had were great and they made up for the fact. Service was prompt and courteous.

Jay Why

First off, I booked a table maybe five days in advance. When we arrived, the two of us were brought to a corner on the ground floor next to a party of six. I asked to be seated elsewhere which we were so that was fine. My problem with this is that the table clearly isn’t the best one. The hostess should have offered me something else right away without me asking. We actually ended up at a table upstairs next to the railing. So clearly something else was available. This is a place you’d come for the ambiance because I think the food is average for the price they charge. Street parking is also $6 an hour so... If anything you’d come for the safe choices like the pizza, which was very good. We ordered the lamb sausage pizza, roasted cauliflower, duck lasagna, roasted bone marrow and the pannacotta. Pizza was good but they could be a bit more generous with the meat. The cauliflower had excellent flavors but not really worth $12. The duck lasagna was just overpowered by duck. You forget that it’s supposed to be a lasagna because every bite is just duck meat sauce. It would have been nice to have more balanced flavors. Most disappointing of all was the bone marrow. It had no flavor. All you taste is the pickled mushroom on burnt toast. That’s the problem with this place. No balance. Then finally, the dessert. Tasted fine but poor presentation. Cmon it was white dessert served on a white plate. Dining experience is lifted because the service is friendly and the restaurant is beautiful. Nice place for a drink but the food is nothing special. I wouldn’t go back.

This last visit was our second time here. Delightful on all accounts. The food, cocktails, service, ambiance and value were exceptional. Thank you for doing it right! The picture is of the second pizza we ordered because it was so good. Great share plates and impressive lighting. We will be back!

Jesse Sarvis

Beautiful restaurant; food is fine if you like your food over-seasoned or over-sauced; service is good but the server comes to table too often. Their service makes you feel that they want to rush you through the meal so that they can get the table back ASAP. Not my kind of restaurant...

Food and service was incredible. The Nightingale Martini was excellent, we also had the Baba Ganoush, very flavorful..a few more dishes and we would definitely come back.

Excellent food, great atmosphere and service was prompt. Definitely will be coming back to dine or sit at the bar for some drinks. Really enjoyed the cool, casual yet affluent vibe

Lei Cheng

Megan was our server tonight she was great! Great service, great vibes and food was delicious. Would definitely come here again.

This was my first time here but I think this would be my favorite one! With first taste comes with first love. I love to sit at one of the chef's tables where I get a nice view of the kitchen and see how they prepare different perfect dishes for their valued customers. It is also a perfect one for me to choose which food I want because I can see all the dishes and how well they presented. What I like the most is their vegetable salad. It was very outstanding and I would really recommend this to my other friends and family. They will surely love this!

Alex Kwok

Amazing food and environment, service is pretty good but still have room for improvement.

Steven Pastores

The highlight of this place is the gorgeous atmosphere. It's a classy place that's not too overbearing, perfect for a date night or a night out with friends. The service was fine but nothing special. The food itself was quite good. I did like the brussel sprouts but frankly didn't find them to be worth the price. As a fan of wood fire pizza, the burrata pizza hit the spot. The dough was thin and chewy while the creamy burrata worked perfectly with the sweetness of the tomatoes and the basil. The fennel pollen was a very interesting touch (in a good way). However, I think the highlight was the fried chicken. The sumac and spiced maple syrup made for a unique and delicious flavour that was unlike anything I'd tried before. The breading was thin but crispy and the chicken was perfectly cooked. I would highly recommend it! Overall I had a nice experience and would absolutely come back in the future.

Clinton Wong

Upscale restaurant, which can be crowded so reservations are advised. The portions are small, so they advise to order multiple things. Service was good and friendly. Unfortunately they do not make any alterations tot the menu. I wanted to have a pizza without cheese, but that is not possible (or you can go for the vegan pizza). So if you have any allergies of specific wishes, I would not advise this restaurant. I went for the vegan pizza, but the crust was very burned and black. Would not go there again.

Sebastián Delgado Sánchez

Insanely good meal and experience. Will be going back. Top dishes were the beets, cauliflower, arugula salad, and the fried chicken. The sparkling Rosé was also delicious.

Katerina Kiseleva

Decent place but I just wish for the price we would of got something a little more unique. I can admit that the food quality is good but I find it over priced for what it is.

Jose Enrique Castillo

Four of us went here and shared excellent dishes. Loved all the vegetables too as healthy tasty food is my priority. Lovely atmosphere and attentive service.

Sheena Johnson

Overpriced. Very over priced. You could tell they had started with something good, but just didn't have the kitchen to handle it. Over salted venison (which had been treated in such a way that it was indistinguishable from beef), machine cut gnochi, and a third dish so forgettable that I can't even remember what it was. Portions are also VERY small, but that should be expected from the pedigree of the restaurant. That said, it was a very, very nice place to sit and drink wine - with amazing serving staff.

Mike Tanyi

the best restaurant in the city! everything was perfect for our lunch date with my husband. Our service was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuine truly lovely server. the food was amazing, lots of vegan options! and of course the decor and building are beautiful. our server even took our menu and marked all the vegan dishes for us. we will be back many times I think!

Carlos Pan

Excellent food and drinks. Vibe is pretty nice as well. Best beets salad. Recommended.

Jaspal Sandhu

They take service to the next level here, without it feeling forced. Every food dish we had was exceptional, especially the broccolini and the braised pork cheek. Will be back!

Edison Yan

Delicious sharing dishes. Three of us ladies ordered 5 dishes and it’s a good amount. We loved the fried chicken, it’s a must try! The roasted pork belly taste nice but was a bit too fatty for us. The dessert was amazing! Definitely try the chocolate cake!

Max Olack

Servers were "nice" but overworked, would leave in the middle of taking our order to assist different tables (happened repeatedly). Servers switched halfway through with zero handoff. Orders were forgotten by both servers for a long time (almost an hour between starters and mains, then our two "mains" came half an hour apart, the second one being an osso bucco & polenta dish that was completely cold with a dried sauce "crust" on the meat, so they were clearly both ready at the same time then the latter was forgotten). I understand the focus is on share plates, but pacing is critical for a 5+ course shared meal. Asked if it was a special occasion and indicated it was a birthday - no special treatment received, so why bother asking? Not remotely close to what would be expected of a restaurant of this price point or the "best chef in the city".

Tdawt Nez

Lovely atmosphere, it's also a great place to share a table of food instead of ordering your own meal. They have two sizes in most dishes to accomodate share plates. We also ordered the octopus special, but didn't manage to get a photo of it. The octopus was delicious though, it came on top of a bed of tzatziki and toasted chickpeas. Would recommend.

Amy Man

What a gem of a place!! The restaurant is so elegant with its high ceilings. The server was fun and informative. We went for a glass of wine and dessert!! What an awesome choice. The desserts were not your mainstream menu choices and the combination of flavors were a treat. We look forward to returning for their extenive tapas menu!!

Beatrice Wong

The coveted 5 star review! Right across the street from our hotel, the Fairmount Pacific Rim Hotel, this tapas restaurant really delivered. We ordered 3 dishes for midday lunch and sat on the patio. In terms of size, the dishes were all enough to make you feel full without being stuffed or feeling scammed on value. I don’t remember the names of the dishes but you’ll know them from below; - their version of avocado toast. Whipped avocado really brings something special to this dish. Served with a moist, warmed seasoned bread and topped with a mild chilli spice, it didn’t disappoint. - tortellini: oh man. Burst in your mouth with liquid flavour. It was served perfectly al dente with water cress, Parmesan flakes and a light cream sauce. Delicious and a “do not miss.” - fried chicken with maple syrup glaze. They used the same chilli spice and drizzled a delicate maple glaze over top. The chicken was moist, crunchy and the glaze was just enough. - salted caramel something heavenly; it was a caramel dessert served in a mason jar. Not a cake, more of a mousse. It was light and flavourful. If you like salted caramel, it’s the pyjamas!

Tiana Oostindie

Our friends hosted us here for a small celebration which was made grand by the amazing service and stellar food. I would say they are one if the best restaurants in Vancouver. Every dish we ordered was delicious. P.s. must try their pizza.

Perfect taste, perfect timing, perfect ambiance. My boyfriend and I went here for our 3 year anniversary and will be back as soon as we can! All of our dishes were so tasty and came to the table with perfect timing. We shared the ceviche, buttermilk fried chicken, and spaghetti with white wine sauce. The service was prompt and we never sat with a dirty dish on the table for more than 20 seconds which was well appreciated as its one thing that I really dont enjoy when going out to eat. The server was friendly, although I had a hard time hearing him at times as it is a little loud but thats not unusual and is more of an issue with me than the actual restaurant. I should mention that I didnt have any trouble hearing my boyfriend and we were still able to have a lovely conversation. We arrived early and were taken to our table right away. They offered to check our coats as well which I think is and amazing idea! The hostess wished us a happy anniversary since I had but it on the reso and the server noted the allergy I put on the reso as well which is awesome. My boyfriend has a peanut allergy and its really nice when we can go places that give us the peace of mind of being proactively aware and not having peanuts in their kitchen (only on the desserts menu). Depending on what you order the pricing is super reasonable also, we made it out of there for $88 before tip and I had a double grey goose and my boyfriend had a beer. Big thanks to the Staff for making our anniversary super special!

This restaurant is very popular and for good reason. Make sure you make a reservation before you go-to even for 2 people otherwise you may not get a table. The food is served "family style" and every dish we had was unique and delicious. They have a great selection of wines as well. I would come here again.

Viet Le

Bland and slightly disappointing food, expected a lot more based on the reviews they have received. The "cheese crumble" cherry desert in the end was very weird.

Excellent food. A Service A+ Cleanliness A+ Location/ Ambiance A Price/ Value / Menu A. Great food. Smaller sharing plates so you can try lots of variety. All food cooked to perfection or near perfection. Nice big menu. Great service. Location is a beautiful restaurant. Very new!! Extremely clean. Overall just A+. Good night out for a date, friends or even w a family will enjoy.

Jess Jung

Celebrated my birthday here! Food was beyond delicious. Staff was very friendly.

Dined at Nightingale last night with my boyfriend for our anniversary. I had been wanting to visit this place for a while and it definitely didn’t disappoint! Our server was attentive and she suggested excellent vegetarian dishes for us to share. The roasted shishito peppers with yuzu mayo and togarashi are one of the most amazing and delicious dishes I have ever tried. I wanted to order two more portions but my boyfriend had to stop me so we could try other things haha. Tiago the sommelier was amazing and he suggested excellent pairings of wine for our dishes. I can’t wait to come back to dine on another special occasion.

Paula Hlavacek

Great food. Fried chicken. Halibut Ceviche. Semifreddo and salted carmel mousse. Great service.

Joey Amor

Service is sooo good! Its warm and cosy, whilst also being smart and classy. Food is delicious, really flavourful and perfect seasoning/flavours. We had a lot of rich dishes, but it was all sooo good :P My favourite: the tortellini OMG...

Jenny Ng

Delicious food served professionally. Out of town guest loved the flavours.

Allen Chan

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal! We came for our anniversary and it was the first restaurant we've been to together in months because of covid-19, we were not disappointed! The service, the ambience, and the food were amazing! Favourites: halibut ceviche and the salted caramel pot de crème, which is to die for! Would go back in a heartbeat

I went to Nightingale for the first time with family. The decor was pretty and they had some really yummy dishes. This place is good if you have a large group and want to try a variety of European style food. The dishes come out one at a time, so it does take a bit longer. This restaurant is on the fancier side, but there is no need to dress up in formal clothes. Clean casual clothes are fine. They have some vegetarian options, and about 4-5 pages of alcohol selection on the menu. Some of my favourite dishes were the mushroom risotto and the chocolate fudge cake with ice cream. The meat eaters liked the buttermilk fried chicken. We ordered about 10 dishes to share among 5 people, and all of us left full and with some leftovers. I did feel some of the dishes were overpriced and small portioned. As well, some staff were snobby. A waiter got irritated because I moved my glass closer to him so he could fill it with water. He somehow managed to spill the water and instead of apologizing or cleaning it up right away, he snidely remarked that he could have reached across the table to fill my glass then he proceeded to clean it up. I did not appreciate that remark. Spilling water is okay, but getting irritated at the customer for trying to be helpful is not. However, our waitress had very good service. The waitress made helpful suggestions to our group, came by often to ask how the food was and if we wanted anything else, refilled our water glasses often, wiped down the table, packed our leftovers, labeled the boxes without being asked to, and came across as friendly. I wish they had given their names so I could mention their names in this review. The waiter was a tall Caucasian, and the waitress was an average height Asian. Overall, it was an interesting experience but I will not be rushing back.

I have been to Nightingale 3 times in the past year, all for special occasions. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates not only great food but a great dining experience (service is always fantastic). Most recently my husband and I took his parents for their 25th wedding anniversary and they loved it. I think the idea of 'share plates' is a fantastic one because I can very rarely finish an entree by myself and this makes it so I don't have to worry about waste while also getting to try numerous delicious dishes. When someone asks me if I know a really good restaurant downtown, this is #1 on my list. It is defnitely a unique experience! (EDIT: For those of you who have read the negative reviews, most of them complain about substitutions/modifications etc. It EXPLICITLY says on the menu that there are no alterations (it is also noted on their website menu). Even if it is a small one, it is a slippery slope - do it for you, they have to do it for everyone. If you have an allergy or preference, it is easy enough to just not order the dish you aren't able to eat. Don't come here and complain when you were told before ordering. It's tacky and classless.)

Sarah Odeh

Love stopping here on our way to Whistler. Ambiance. Fun and Lively. Even at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. Menu. Fabulous and inventive Food. Delicioso. The teens Enjoyed tasty pizzas Adults were satisfied with amazing Brussel sprouts and marvelous meatballs. Service. Friendly and accommodating. Cocktails. Need a bit of work. Two drinks were underwhelming. One was ok. Need to test the final product.

Ernest Mak

Had another great meal at Nightingale. Sat at the bar this time and ordered a mix of small plates and mains. The fried chicken and pickles was good but the breading was heavy. The cauliflower was amazing as was the brussel sprouts. We had several different bartenders serving us so it was sometimes spotty. If they serve you a drink you don't like send it back and get what you want! They can make anything so don't be shy of it's not perfect. We will definitely be back. The bar seating is kid friendly which was great since we didn't have reservations.

Adrian Murfin

Lots of selection here for lunch. Server suggested for each of us to select 2 items but that would have been way too much food. The fried chicken was great, ceviche and roasted cauliflower were my two favourite dishes.

Aman

We ordered a number of dishes to share. Food was very delicious! The buttermilk chicken is one of the most popular items. Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Sauce was sweet and sour. The spaghetti was al dente with a delicate seafood taste. The flat iron steak was very tender and done to perfection despite the cut of meat. We finished the night with a salted caramel pot de creme. Slightly heavy but delicious. The atmosphere was great and very spacious. The staff took extra effort to maintain covid precautions. The atmosphere was great. It was packed on a Thursday evening. Food is on the pricier side. Expect around 2 dishes per person as the portions are on the smaller side. The watermelon salad seemed overprice for the ingredient.

Terri Pan

Great interior design with high a ceiling, make for a pleasant dining area. The menu offers lots of options, though overall it felt like the dishes were trying a little too hard. We did try multiple dishes and there were some standouts such as the beets. It's a more home style plate presentation compared to Hawksworth, but it is a cheaper night out. Staff was over all very friendly and helpful. Hard to get a reservation so book early.

Jean Oh

Nightingale is one of our favorite spots in town! Food is consistently fantastic and so is the service. The ambiance in the resto is ???? on point an pleasant for people of all ages! I’ve always gone outside of happy hour but decided to give it a try this past weekend, and wow the selection of food during HH is unreal! And their portion during HH is the same as regular time, so they kept it classy and delivered the same quality and quantity! Their fried chicken is super juicy and flavorful, a total must! And their pizza is nice and chewy, best I’ve had outside or Italy???????? Don’t hesitate, just go eeeeat!

Lyndell Skews

Definitely an interesting menu, although be warned there is a note saying they won't make any modifications at all, so if you have any dietary restrictions it can be quite disappointing and restrictive. It's a 'small plate'/tapas concept but the portions are actually huge, so it's not possible to try more than 3-4 things for a table of 2. Service was friendly although we waited a really long time for a couple of our dishes (they come from the kitchen when ready). Cocktails were good but not amazing, wine list was solid. Nice atmosphere. Would go back but wouldn't be a regular unless they reduce the plate size and become a little more flexible.

Jennie Yan

One of our go to's for a fine-dining- but still casual vibe. Locally spurced ingredients and a diverse, talented menu make this a great spot

rene bernstein

Every time we go to Nightingale, they have new and creative dishes with the season's freshest ingredients.

Steve Marshall

Posh decor, good service. Food is up to par considering the price, but the desserts are excellent. We hv a party of 12 and tried out different desserts on menu. Almost all are excellent , if not good. Situated in a historical preserved building. High ceiling. Bright decor. Gd for group of friends but may not be the romantic scene.

Preeti

We had a great dinner here! The dishes are brought out family style, so we had a few things - sweet potatoes, fried chicken, mushrooms and meatballs. The first dish, the sweet potatoes, was insanely delicious! It really set the bar high. The fried chicken was perfect as well. The mushrooms and meatballs both needed a bit of salt, and were less unique, but still tasty. We both loved the pear hazelnut bar for dessert as well - so good! Our server was lovely, and the ambiance is very warm and romantic. Overall a really good first impression and we will check out Nightingale again!

Shadow Box Studios

First restaurant my friends and I went to since phase 2 of COVID in BC. Not only had they removed some tables from their floor to make it 6' friendly, but all staff had masks on and constantly cleaning and sanitizing things. They only brought food to a corner of the table as to not reach/touch everything. As a nurse, I was very appreciative of all their efforts. Now onto the important stuff: the food! Their menu is a share based system so between the three of us, we ordered 5 dishes and split it between us, and I gotta say, I'm stuffed. Everything was delicious, everything was cooked to perfection, and their drinks were delicious. First time at Nightingale, and will absolutely go again. Highly recommend. ????????????????

Max Novich

Fantastic food, great atmosphere/decor and service.

Christian Whiticar

Came for a visit and got a recommendation abiut this place from a local friend. First of all, the design is just amazing and let you feel like you are in a different world. Atmosphere is sophistucated but still casual. Cocktail variety is decent and so does the wine. All diahes were pretty spectacular, moat norable were the cauliflower, the pizza and the steak. Oysters were supr fresh, but there was only one kind. Service is a bit laid back and sometimes uncynchronized, but it doesn't hurt the experiwbce that much. Will difinitely come back on my next visit.

jens bylehn

Food is good. Must get bone marrow, kanpachi ceviche, spaghetti, tortelloni and cauliflower. Didnt like the beef tartare as much. Price is good but didnt like service much. The bone marrow came after the oysters we ordered and there was still two raw food that did not come yet. Server named George didn't frequently come to our table to ask us how our food was. Have to ask few times for bill and seems like he forgot about us. I would give 4 stars but service kind of killed that star. ESPECIALLY how the bone marrow (cooked food)came before the raw food. A bit disappointed and the server didn't do anything about it. I usually dont review but i felt because of the service i had to write something

Sonja Berg

Welcomed without a reservation, helped with menu selection, and the food was something exceptional. Well done to the chef on this ????

Greg Stortz

I visited Nightingale on March 26 for my birthday with my family, and we all really enjoyed the experience. We loved the spacious atmosphere and the simple but attractive decor. The food was outstanding - it's meant to be eaten "family style" which worked perfectly for us! And having just one or two dishes come out at once meant that we could really savour and enjoy each part. Our favourites were the roasted mushroom pizza, the acorn squash, the cavatelli and hanger steak. The cocktails were great, too. Out waiter was very helpful when it came to choosing wines to pair with our food. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and I had no complaints. :)

This place! 5+ years strong and still a delight. Go with a group, share plates, and try as many dishes as possible. Exceptional service and quality of experience. Highly recommended.

I made a simple request for a single lit candle for my girlfriend’s birthday online TWICE. Not very difficult. Simple request. This very simple request was not fulfilled without notification. If you make it an option for guests to make requests and list what occasion the dinner is for, you should read it and either satisfy the request or notify otherwise. Service: The server wasn’t the most pleasant. She seemed annoyed even though we were very polite. Food: Good. For two people, we ordered 1 salad (watermelon), 1 veggie (sweet potatoes), 2 small dishes (buttermilk chicken and meatballs), 1 large dish (pasta with duck wagu), and 2 desserts. We were very full. All was well except for the dessert. We had the pot de creme and the cheese cake. Not very good. Too sweet and didn’t feel balanced. Lastly, we had the lemon sage and cranberry ginger non-alcoholic drinks and both were amazing. Overall: this establishment failed miserably to cater to my request. This request was made well advance of the date and twice online. Service for such a fine restaurant was disappointing. I had better and more genuine service at Whitespot... I wish we had a better experience.

Dan Piecuch

I have mixed reviews for this because my first experience was 5/5 but subsequent visits have been 3s or 4s. I enjoy the nicely sautéed vegetables the first time but I feel like spices have gone over the top recently. That doesn’t take away from the freshness and taste of the vegetables though. I miss the Brussels sprouts which have been replaced by a zucchini dish. The Arctic char is always amazing. The bramble is one of the best cocktails around - highly recommended.

arlo r

Had a fun filled night at Nightingale with a party of four. Started out with Nightingale martini and Fortunate sun. Appetizers included Beet salad and Brussels sprouts. Then Rabbit meatball pizza, buttermilk fried chicken (maple syrup and pickles), Clam spaghetti, Black truffle risotto, Grilled hanger steak, grilled pork belly, and roasted bone marrow. Dishes that disappointed was risotto (way too citrus) and hanger steak (temperature was correct but too chewy). Dishes that exceeded expectations were the clam spaghetti and fried chicken!

Tony Yeung

Great service, food ok. Plates are meant to be shared but I'd order one large item per person along with one side each for a decent meal. Cheesecake was very "mature" tasting, not oversweetened, with the right amount of tartness from a blueberry sauce.

Paul Croes

Great variety of smallish plates for sharing with our group, which included teens willing to try some new flavours. They loved it. Efficient, friendly, knowledgeable crew. Beautiful room, although avoid tables near door.

Claudine Bananal

This one is a little hard to review. the good was really good but the bad was pretty bad. I gave them a 4 stars, but it was probably more like a 3.5. First off, the service was excellent, top notched. Very friendly and very helpful. The Brussel sprouts were really good, probably the best I've had. A must have in my opinion. The potato wedges were good, 4/5 if I had to rate it. Unfortunately he mains were really poor. The lamb shank was tender, but really salty. It was hard to eat and found myself reaching for the water a lot. The roast chicken was also bad. It was way overcooked, so it was dry and tough. Tasted like the chicken you would get at the local grocery store for $6 with some veggies added to it. The night ended with desert. We had the apple crisp and it was very good. Not too sweet with just the right amount of cinnamon. I would probably go back again, but not a restaurant I would frequent often. By the way, parking is really bad in the area, but we were there on a Friday night.

Donya Arani

Volume restaurant with exceptional cuisine!! Its hard to believe the presentation and quality of the food prepared in a restaurant of this size!! Chev Phil examined every plate and is hands on in all aspects of the food prepared. Thank you for taking time to explain what is involved in your day to day operation!! Fabulous!!

Renée Frenette

Really nice place. Food was good, wide variety of choices. Staff/service was excellent. Minor improvement: more drink choices. Only 3 beers on tap and the cocktails were mostly sweet.

Gabriela Corvalan

Amazing food and great cocktails!

We've been waiting to get a Reservation at Nightingale for quite sometime. Finally, we got a seating on Feb 17th. However, we accidentally arrived early and were turned away. Once we got seated at another Restaurant, we got a call advising us of a table that was ready. HUGE disappointment and frustration. I made another reservation for last night as it was my Birthday. Nightingale was super accommodating with the 20 min grace period as we were running late. Upon arrival, we got a seating that permitted the full 2 hr dining. They don't allow modifications to the menu so for someone like me that's a selectively picky eater, it was hard to decide what to order. The only vodka cocktail they had was the Jasmint which I loved. But again, limited options for drinks as well. We ordered the Baba Ghanouj Dip with Sourdough which was fresh and delicious. But the item that won our hearts was the Butternut Squash Tortellini...SO SO SO good. Just wish there was more sauce and that it was apart of the entrees. For dinner, we got the Arctic Char and the half order of the Arrabbiata Rigatoni. Both items were delicious. I expected a surprise dessert but we were suggested the Salted Caramel and Sticky Toffee Pudding which were both amazing. For future, I would only return for the ambiance as it's gorgeous inside, the appies and drinks!

K

Not only is the food delicious, the atmosphere is fantastic. I think it's better suited for groups because the food is meant for sharing. The service is personable, professional and unpretentious. They could give a masterclass on service to most restaurants.

Rosa Tang

Good food. Good service. Tapas style dishes that are easily shareable amongst friends/family. Plan to order about 2 dishes/person plus drinks.

Brandon Wallace

Personally wasn't impressed with the food but it wasn't bad, except for the duck ragu. Both watery and too salty, with absolutely no duck flavour. I was more surprised when the chef said it was how it was supposed to taste. The wait staff were nice and the place looked cool, but I probably won't go back.

Stephen Franchuk

We ended up at the Nightingale on a referral from a friend. The food was amazing the service was ok, there was room for improvement. The lower section would be my preference to sit in next time for the ambience of the decor and bar. We were walk in so we took what we could get. Their pizza looks amazing and I would defiantly order next time. One thing I was put off on was one of the employees was helping himself to sips of wine, not cool for clients to witness. I was surprised that the dress attire of the staff was super casual, all the way down to track pants. A restaurant of this caliber I would expect a little bit more of a uniform, not huge deal just kind of surprised. I would defiantly recommend and I would go back. We had pasta with clams, roasted carrots and pork belly all were great.

Jimmy Brendan

Fantastic food, great atmosphere/decor and service.

Charn Thandhi

As always food is amazing here and I’m a long term customer and love this place. I was super disappointed with our waitress Briget?! Super rude and unfriendly in her behaviour. We did try to joke around with her and try to break her thick and unbreakable unfriendly attitude but nothing was working. It was my husbands birthday and I was very surprised to see she didn’t even acknowledge or take the time to say a simple Happy birthday. I was shocked to see someone with this attitude is hired in such a high end and well known restaurant at which I always had amazing experience at. If it was my first time at nightingale I would have never come back assuming the entire service is not good and the owners don’t care about customer experience .

Terry Whn-Yates

Elegant building, contemporary yet sophisticated ambiance inside with fireplace and high ceilings. Menu selection was a little limited for my taste buds. Portions were okay. They accommodated gluten free diet but not a whole lot of selection. Servers were quite knowledgeable about allergies which was comforting since my guest had gluten diet requirements. It’s a nice treat to come here for special occasions but a little pricey for regularly dining.

Livyan Syu

I came here for my brother’s birthday dinner. The ambiance is great. We got a nice table on the upper side. The servers were attentive. They have a great selection of drinks . I ordered a few cocktails and loved them. The food overall was good. I just didnot like pizzas much. We ordered a few of them. When it comes to my favourite part, desserts were super delicious especially the strawberry one. We had a good time here.

Steven Joe

Good afternoon, my wife wrote a review 5 months ago under the Coco Pink and I am unsure if the restaurant responds to all reviews (negative or positive)? I just revisited the google reviews just now and noticed that there appears to be a pattern of the low reviews (anyway) to have a common under tone or theme. For the good of the brand, I hope that this has been addressed since my last visit 5 months ago. My wife and I first met at Nightingale so I really don't want to hear that these experiences exist.

Adam Maier

The ambience is really nice, but the food was not spectacular to me. There are some notable items ... We ordered a bunch of different dishes and main courses for a group of 8. The pizza was probably the worst out of them all. Oysters were great, but small. The chantelle mushroom risotto was good. The fried chicken was the best. I found the food to be heavy on the salt.

Shawna G

We really enjoyed our meal here last night. The english pea toast with whipped ricotta was divine. The octopus was EXCELLENT - so often this dish is rubbery and chewy but Nightingale did it beautifully. We paired our meal with a half bottle of Hungarian Chateau Megyer - which is a rare and delicious find on a BC menu. The service was impeccable and the prices very reasonable. I can't wait to go back and try more the of the many, many dishes on offer here. The decor in this place is beautiful too - felt like I was in New York or Paris in the 1920's. My only complaint was that our table overlooked the kitchen (which is usually very entertaining) but the 900 degree giant pizza oven made it uncomfortably hot. If dining here on a warm summer's evening again I'd request a table away from the pizza oven! Would be cosy in the winter though.

Justin Hoffmann

Only errors were of omissions. Very good food, mushrooms and shellfish had great sauces, but nothing on the menu to soak them up with. Only bread offered on the menu was a pizza crust.

Linda Nguyen

Food here is so damn good and the service is so genuinely nice. Our group felt that our server really loved working there. This is a perfect place to go share a bunch of things and get fat. Gets pretty busy so I'd recommend a reso.

Angela Chen

This is one of my favourite places to eat in Vancouver. I have to say, it's the best pizza in the city. The menu changes up a little bit seasonally so there are always new things to discover. The broccolini is also AMAZING. I would highly recommend coming here. Service is great, so are the cocktails and the wine menu.

Yuval K

Great food-very imaginative small plates on the menu. Who ever heard of Brussels sprouts with Concord grapes and pine nuts- but it really worked well. High ceilings keep the house level very manageable.

Ryan

Delicious & amazing service! My friend and I shared a chorizo pizza, buttermilk fried chicken, and a full-size rigatoni. We were STUFFED. We took the pot de crème to go and that was also incredibly delicious!! Next time, I would order 2 dishes + drinks + dessert. So yummy!

Kash Khamisi

Love love love everything we had here. Service was also amazing

Melanie Y

Great ambiance and drinks including the beer selection. Food is incredibly over priced. Between 4 women we had to order 7 dishes and 2 desserts to feel somewhat satiated. It all tastes good. Some things better than others. Nothing was bad on the menu but nothing was memorable either. I would go back just for snacks and drinks.

Pop up Patio for Covid. I feel pretty bad for the servers, having to go in and out the restaurant and around the corner to the side of the building to serve, but they were making it work for sure. Food and cocktails are terrific. You really can't go wrong with anything. They have a ridiculous handle on flavours, so everything is punchy and delicious. Our table had pasta, pizza, full entrees- most of the dishes on the menu were eaten by someone, and there were no duds. Everyone was happy with everything. It's not even very expensive. We ended up around $70/pp even after tax and tip, with a few cocktails each, shared fried chicken and veg, pasta entrees each. Which is honestly what you'd end up paying at some Cactus Club type joint anyways, but you know, good.

Alina Dulchevsky

One of my favourite places in Vancouver to go with friends and share lots of plates. The fried chicken is a must try. The sweet potatoes might be the best I’ve ever had. Great selection of starters and medium and large size share plates

David Manley

Amazing food and good wine selection. Our server was very attentive and suggested a lot of good dishes. The clam pasta was phenomenal!

Arnold Karan (Aroc88)

Great experience, attentive staff and delicious food! However, there wasnt a particular dish I was absolutely raving about. It was tasty but not exceptional. The interior decor was beautiful though and I had a great time.

Pooya Mohammadi

Excellent food and drinks. Vibe is pretty nice as well. Best beets salad. Recommended.

Svea Poulsen (Sveava)

We had an excellent dinner at Nightingale. Made a last minute reservation and we were not disappointed. We followed our great waiter's recommendations and we ordered several dishes to share. Pizzas are worth sharing at least one of them (we ordered the roasted mushrooms pizza but they all looked amazing). We'll go back if we ever return to Vancouver. Great service, great food and pleasant atmosphere.

Soledad Ronco

Nightingale is an experience! Great food and I love their happy hour.

Juan Carlos Rovetta

Great little plates of food. Good wine menu. Upstairs dining area. Lower level bar. Great ambience. Tried pizza, grilled cauliflower, and kale salad. All recommended.

Jessica Oliveira

I would say they are definitely one of the best restaurants in Vancouver! The service, the environment and food all put together is almost impossible to match in Vancouver. They do have a pretty good protocol for Covid, so you should not have that as a worry. The food is always amazing, having been going there for years and the ability to order shareable food and have great conversation is really nice and that’s due to the style of food and the set up the restaurants. You really can’t go wrong with anything you order. My favourite have to be the fried chicken, the cauliflower, the pizza below and the salted caramel dessert( I could live off that). They also used to have a bone marrow which was outstanding (hope they bring it back).

Mitchell Brown

Really good food, friendly service. Thoroughly enjoyed the buttermilk chicken whilst eyeing up next table's bone marrow.

Marco Di Placido

The server we had was amazing.. great recommendations, knowledge of menu and attentiveness. Food was so so delish and same with the cocktails.

john blake

I've been to Nightengale twice - both excellent experiences. Service wasn't the best last night but it was busy. As for food, I highly recommend the Pizzas, the Steak, and ANY vegetable dish. The Roasted Carrot dish is the best thing I've had there in my two experiences and I'm a carnivore's carnivore. I would not recommend the Meatballs or the Fried Chicken - the Fried Chicken seemed a bit under seasoned and too reliant on the syrup. That said, the spicy syrup is fantastic. All in all, 5 stars and one of Vancouver's best.

Saggio Ricercatore

We visited on a busy Saturday night and I was blown away by the service. My friend has a food allergy and our server went above and beyond to make sure she could enjoy her meal. He went through the whole menu marking the dishes she could have and was so patient and kind on a very busy night. So impressed! Of course the food was amazing but the service was really next level. Thank you!

Ali Meraji

Went here on recommendation from trusted friends. The ambiance and drinks were high caliber. Top picks: Brussels sprouts, Buttermilk fried chicken, and the Salted Caramel pot de creme vanilla breton butterscotch. This is a must visit if you can afford it!!!!

Ronica Dhir

We have always had great service at Nightingale. The servers are very knowledgeable of the menu, they help shape the evening with great suggestions. It’s always a great experience with well crafted top quality food.

Vivian L

Enjoyed the tasting table at Nightingale on my first night in Vancouver. I was not disappointing and the chef would stop by every now and again to let me know different things about the menu. Great place with delicious food!

Daniel A

LOVED Nightingale, 10/10 would recommend and have recommended to everyone and anyone. During happy hour, make sure to get the fried chicken and any pizza - delicious!! I came for a birthday celebration and had lots of amazing food. The baba ghanoush is better at Nuba but the mushroom dish was AMAZING, along with the tortelloni! Would go again and try many more things. I literally crave nightingale everyday.

DJ Veronica Events (Amy Rozier)

A well-rounded, delicious menu! I came here with a group of 8 and we had family-style sharing plates. There is a great variety of dishes on the menu and everything was so rich and flavourful. The cocktail and wine selection was also fantastic. I'll be back for my next dinner event.

Kent Hawkins

What can I say. High end tapas style food without the pretentious feel.

Rod Peacock

Excellent food, atmosphere and service. The menu has a bit of everything and many excellent dishes. Happy hour represents great value as well with all food either $8 or $12. I just wish they would bring back their gnocchi with burrata and red sauce.

Great classy place for dinner dates. The menu is always changing with fresh ideas and takes in innovating ingredient combinations. The staff are super kind and knowledgable on the menu. They are passionate about food and it shows in their quality. Plenty of options for shareable dishes at an affordable price! ????????

Jennifer Chu

One of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver. Food is always good and service is great. Get the fried chicken, pizza, and clam pasta!

Freda Piskorik

Always amazing. Their seasonal veggie dishes blow my mind at times and the pea & burrata tortellini in that amazingly buttery sauce was one of the best bites of my life! In the middle of all of that they manage to make very solid pizza. I just wanna sit there and get fat for a week.

Aylin Azmin

What a great evening spent here! We had Cesar as our server and he was outstanding. We needed help choosing a bottle of wine from our short list and he did great. We had the fries, Baba ghanouj, basil salad, fried chicken and Arctic char. Wow!!! The Arctic char may have been the best fish we have ever had!! The atmosphere was great, clean and overall we had an outstanding evening. Well worth every penny in our opinion. Thanks for a great night!

Just back from Nightingale. Faboulous food, service and buzz. There is nothing boring about this place. There were also a number of patrons at the bar. Looks like a good cocktail menu as well. As a couple we had 4 shared dishes plus a desert. Just look at the menu on the web. We could not fault anything..... maybe the noise level, but we are an older couple! The restaurant is housed in an intetesting building with nice decor. This adds to the dining experience. Prices are high but when the food and service are exceptional we are happy to pay. If I lived in Vancouver this would be on my list of definite return visits required. We wish the restaurant great success.

One of my favourite restaurants. The food, ambiance, service was all superb. Our favourite dishes were the hanger steak, fried chicken, pizza, beet salad, and caramel pot de creme. So good!!

Last week was my third time at Nightingale. I had asked my drinks be made non-alcoholic due to my meds TWICE. Previously, the servers were accommodating. This time, to my dismay, the bramble still contained alcohol and I became ill afterwards. If they cannot alter even the drinks, I would have appreciated being notified beforehand as there were health concerns. Food-wise, the uni, aburi kanpachi, and the pork cheek were all too heavy for my colleague's and my tastes, with the first two being too sour and the latter too salty. Not being one to waste food, we finished everything save the pork cheek as it was so salty that we had to pack it up. The bone marrow with aioli had fair flavor but our baguettes were burnt and had huge air bubbles during baking so the marrow kept dripping down. To be fair, I recognize that individual tastes differ, and I did enjoy the risotto despite its saltiness. Finally, the panna cotta was served strangely on a plate, and the server commented that it was an effort of the chef to be different. Although I appreciate creativity, the end creation was simply saccharine and watery, presumably because the large surface area sped up the melting process of the gelatin. Overall, I was disappointed by my latest experience. The drink oversight was serious enough to mar my impression of the establishment despite the otherwise pleasant interactions with the staff.

Although the food was good and our waiter did a good job our evening did not go well. Mainly, it was where we were seated in the restaurant. I made a reservation one month in advance and let them know it was for a special birthday. When we arrived we were seated in what I would say was the worst table in the large restaurant. We were seated right beside the open kitchen, right next to the service area and the entrance to the washroom. Waiters were running back and forth with dishes all night and guests to use the washroom. There was another table open and we asked the manager to move us. He absolutely refused us even though many tables opened up a move was never offered us.

Bone marrow is the best. Oven wired pizzas. Overall 5 Star experience. We went without a reservation, we had like a 30 minute wait. The server gave sparkling wine on the house to get us settled in. Extremely attentive and personalised service.

Devon McLeay

Very nice place, however our experience here at dinner time is always better than in at lunch time. Friendly staff and good food in general.

Rocealin Racert

Food is amazing. My fianceé and I love this place! Easily our favourite downtown Vancouver restaurant. Servers are always prompt and it seems like they all work as a team to provide you with the best experience possible. Highly recommended!

Shona Fraser

Absolutely phenomenal in every way. Our service, from the hosts to the server and management was absolutely top notch. They helped with all of our questions, marked the menu for all of our allergies, and gave us time to talk and recommend things we were looking for. The food was sublime and the drinks were extremely well made. Absolutely will be back and recommend to anyone and everyone looking for great tapas and drinks! Thank you so much to the team at Nightingale for the memorable experience, we will for sure be back again!!

We went to Nightingale last night at around 6:15. We had to show up at the restaurant just to put our names on the waiting list since they don't accept waitlist over the phone. The hostess said wait time is around 2.5 hrs, however table was …

Alex G

Service was great and food were delicious! Everything was full of flavour. Between 4 of us, we ordered 5 dishes.

Chelsea Webster

My friend and I had a reservation for two at 9:15pm on a Friday. When we arrived, they greeted us warmly and then said our table was ready. I looked around the dining room and it was completely packed. I had no idea that they had a second floor. We were out at what they called the 'chef's tables': little booths in front of the open kitchen facing it. At first I thought this would be kind of neat, as I sometimes enjoy eating at the chef's bar to watch the magic happen. However, it was super bright, ambiance wasn't great, and so hot and smoky that we started getting uncomfortable and sweaty. I had just dry cleaned the sweater I wore and now it just stunk. We ordered four dishes: fries, Brussel sprouts, bone marrow, and rock fish. Out of the four, nothing tastes spectacular and the best dish was the fries. The bone marrow was a particular let down; just tasted of the heavy handed dill on it, and rock fish looked like a hard lump and tasted like salty over cooked fish. The service was attentive enough but confusing and definitely not of the level you would hope in a much hyped Hawksworth related establishment in competitive and fickle Vancouver. I might try Nightingale again another time, but only after I have exhausted other choices and there's someone else who wants to try it who hasn't yet.

Classy vibe. Great view. It is an upscale restaurant. Food is very expensive. The quality is medium. Drinks are better. The best way to enjoy this restaurant is to go with groups and order small foods to share. I really liked the steak which was on the kids menu!! I also liked the lamb chops. I didn't like the gnoochi. Also the pizza was not good and even burned. Staff were not so friendly. I expected more from this place.

Shadan Sargent

We love nightingale and we order takeout from them at least once a week. However, ever since they started indoor dining again, they stopped caring about takeouts anymore. The portion size has become A LOT SMALLER and it’s really disappointing.

Ginelle F

Ordered takeout a few nights ago and here is my review. Pizza was delicious but the crust was burnt and charred for both margarita and the pesto. The kale salad was flavourless and bland. The only good food was the brussels sprouts and the cauliflower. Honestly my expectations were extremely high due to the reputation of the restaurant and the price of the food. I was very disappointed and will not be ordering from here again.

Heather N

DO NOT VISIT if you have food allergies. Unexpectedly average experience for a downtown restaurant. Atmosphere is great but food was nothing more than average. Food was on the saltier side and when we brought this our server’s attention, she explained that the restaurant does not make any changes to menu items — even though it was really salty.

Ben Young

We had a great experience when we celebrated my mom's birthday. Our server was very friendly and attentive with out table making sure our experience was top notch throughout the evening. Food was amazing as usual

Josh O'Keefe

Really good food as expected. Our server was warm, friendly, and added to the overall dining experience

Tommy Kiser He Him

Good food and portion sizes. We tried 7 or 8 dishes and each had its own unique taste so provided great variety. Lots of vegetarian options as well. Staff was very friendly and restaurant was run efficiently. Only drawback was it was quite noisy and difficult to carry on a conversation at times.

Vince Murray

Really good atmosphere and service but we all felt like the food had too much seasonings. Its either too salty or the flavours were too overwhelming.

Torsten Voigt

Food was amazing. Drinks were amazing. Atmosphere was amazing. Bathrooms were...also amazing. This place is a gem.

Dominika Synowiec

We had all Italian food, which we didn't expect. Everything was superb! Beautiful restaurant.

Neeharika Killampalli

My husband and I had a Happy Holidays get together dinner tonight with our good friends here. Our second time actually. Earlier this year we tried this place for lunch with a big group of friends. It was ok. Tonite, we spent quite a bit. Ordered 4 main courses, potato wedges and cauliflower dish, 1 bottle of red wine plus 2 glasses of red and not to forget 2 dessert. The pork belly tasted amazing. The Albacore tuna was ok. The chocolate dessert was quite ok. The rest just seemed unimpressive. However, the ambiance could have been awesome if the our server didn't come to our table all the time while we're having a good conversation. She seemed to rush us and literally grabbed our dessert plates off the table with still some salted caramel left on the table without asking us. Our bill $234.00 was laid on the table without us asking for it. Having dined all over the world, around Canada and North America... back here in one of the most expensive places in Vancouver we felt like we were in a low class restaurant. Anyway, we paid and we were still chatting and relaxing after a meal when another staff approached our table and asked if we wanted to stay a bit more we can move downstairs where the fireplace is. Okay... hmmmmm. BTW, we didn't order pizza which we seen on most tables when we left. All I can say... we could have enjoyed our dinner more if we were allowed to chew and taste our food properly without a server coming to us every now and then. I understand that our reservation is at 5pm. Nightingale is not a venue or restaurant where you can relax and have wine, food and good conversation with your company. Also, the servings are small. I'll never come back here and I won't recommend it. I strongly suggest that management should properly train the staff to talk, smile, serve, communicate effectively with customers without offending them.

Steve Miller

Really nice restaurant. Busy and bustling, but we were well taken care of with nice, helpful staff. The food was pretty damn delicious- the salads and pastas were memorable.

Amy Todd

First timer here: Went here for lunch and though not a huge fan of Hawksworth (to fancy for my tastebuds) which is I think owed by the same people Nightingale was amazing! Dishes are family style and they easily accommodated the amount of people we had to make sure everyone had a portion. My faves were the meatballs and fried chicken followed closely by the Apple salad also the salted caramel pudding was life changing. Like seriously, I’m a better person for having tasted it. The wait staff was very attentive and your water glass (sparkling or flat) was never empty. 100% recommend!

Sheida

Amazing decor and wonderful looking food that was a little underwhelming when tasting.

I have eaten at Nightengale several times. It's an excellent place to go for after work drinks. I recently tried their takeout and it was just as good!

I had a great experience. The food, drinks and staff were all exceptional. We had two servers named Michael that were incredibly helpful. Im definitely planning on going back and Id highly recommend it to anyone.

IGNITE THE SPARK WITHIN

Nightingale is my go-to after work restaurant. Always enjoyed my dine-in experience there.

Francesco Cammardella

Outstanding dining experience. We came here with a large group and were blown away by the experience. The restaurant is larger than it looks with a gorgeous upscale bar and a well adorned, swanky upstairs. Very enjoyable vibe, upscale but not stuffy. The service was great and the drink menu refreshingly different. The food is served family style which was great for our group. We ordered sharing sized pasta, spinach Caesar salad, steak, pork belly, mushrooms and delicious cauliflower. The deserts were amazing (salted Carmel, pb and j ice cream sandwich. Over all it was one for the best meals I have ever had

Guillem

Decent experience. First time going. Tried a few things, couple of them were tasty. Nothing spectacular.

Saul Goodman

Had high expectations that weren't really met. The atmosphere is loud and perhaps it is due to the open concept design. Visually it looks amazing but it made it difficult to have a conversation and we were at a table for three. The food itself tasted alright but not the same wow factor that I was expecting from the sister restaurant of Hawksworth. Our server wasn't the most friendly, she didn't seem to want to answer any of our questions about the menu.

V K

Really good place to eat with friends or family. Pizza was awesome, highly recommended (feeds two comfortably, but not too heavy). Menu is designed so food is definitely meant to be shared which we all liked. For every 2 people would recommend at least 3 dishes (or maybe two if you go for the pizza/pasta), it really depends how hungry you are. Service was brilliant too. Prices were fair considering the quality of food, venue and area. The drink menu was also respectable but definitely more options for wines.

Maurice Castonguay

Fantastic lunch spot in this beautiful new location. The staff are very friendly. The food was excellent along with the tasty cocktails. Highly recommended lunch spot which has easily become one of my favorite lunch spots in town!

Dylan Seiler

Came here for the 4th time and impressed by their consistency. Both in food quality and customer service. I could eat here every day! Specially the vegan dishes! So yummy it makes you forget about meat...

Selene Jang

Excellent food, ambiance and vibe, and the prices are very reasonable! Quick and attentive service by our lovely host Keagan, he most definitely did an excellent job and kept our party very happy throughout the dining experience! Highly recommended and will be back again!

J Lee

The sommelier was great, he is the 2 stars. I’d rather have a snack pack than the pot de creme. They have an identity crisis and can’t decide if they are Asian, Mexican, or Italian. There are way better options in the city, sad for a place that used to be great. Honestly, just go somewhere else.

Spencer Perry

The service is kind friendly and efficient. They are so busy. Good selection of wine by the glass and great menu. Plus happy hour is a thing. Really awesome. Jessamin is a excellent sommelier. Food is very flavorful which I appreciate and lots of veggie only small plates. The room is beautiful.

Frances Moini

Wow, that's the word I can use for this restaurant. Stephanie was hosting us and she did a brilliant job. Not overwhelming or disregarding approach. Food was tasty and after 4 years in Vancouver I had first time delicious and tasted food. I couldn't believe what I have taste since it was so special ingredient. I can't wait to back there sooooonnnn. Thank u to the management and chef who did an amazing job

Sean Wasserman

The atmosphere and ambience are great. The food is decent too. I liked the lamb sussage and margarita pizzas that we ordered. The Burrata cheese dish, however, was not balanced. It had too many condiments and ingredients which overshadowed the star of the dish, Burrata! The less is more sometimes. For that I give it 4 stars.

Stephanie Salvatore

Absolutely delicious! Excellent decor and vibe! The roasted cauliflower is amazing! Save room for dessert!

Cathy Puskas

I have dined here on many occasions and the consistency and quality is insane! The pizza is always amazing, the fried chicken never a disappointment. It's a great place to go with friends as there are a lot of small dishes and the more people you have with you the more you can try!

Krystal Gnome

Atmosphere is awesome, food is terrible. 1The baguette is burnt and bitter. 2Too much vinegar on roasted sprout 3 Pork belly is soooo sweet like Chinese Chasu with more sugar. 4 Presentation is horrible

Joel Kaplan

Nightingale is one of our favorite spots in town! Food is consistently fantastic and so is the service. The ambiance in the resto is ???? on point an pleasant for people of all ages! I’ve always gone outside of happy hour but decided to give …

Robert Marcoux

Everything we ordered was fabulous! The lamb ragu and anchovy toast were my personal favourites. The Italian dessert wine is phenomenal.

Natalia Franco

Great atmosphere, food and service. Had Baba gamush, the fried chicken and risotto. All great. For drink, I had the ginger juice. I forgot the name, but it was terrific. Recommend with friends or that special someone!

Jessica Hart

Every dish here is wonderful and the food is reasonably priced. Service is consistently professional and good. Every time I dine here and try a new dish I am impressed. It is quite large and busy, but you get great value for your money and it is one of my favourite spots in the city.

Andrew L

Excellent service and ambiance. Wonderful food combination and plating, delicious cocktail, everything was perfect. You're now one of my favorite restaurants in Vancouver ????

Rachel F

What a pleasent surprise! It was three of us, and we shared six different dishes, plus two desserts, all of them a culinary statement, a delightful sensorial experience. The servers are very professional and the selection of wines is quite good. The place is a bit on the noisy side, but not as much as many ither restaurants. The decoration is modern, but yet with a classical atmosphere. Highly recommendable!

J C

This is the first restaurant my girlfriend took me to for our first date. We had to eat at 5:30 because it's always booked - but it didn't matter, was so worth it. I love the food, the ambiance and the staff. One of my faves.

Tiana Suadela

I'm obsessed. This place is absolutely incredible, and the perfect spot for a special occasion. The vibe is fantastic but it doesn't compare to the food, which is just amazing. Everything was flavourful and decadent. Our waitress, Steph, was also incredible! She was full of great recommendations, all of which were great, and took the time to explain things and get a feel for what we wanted. Also, even though we talked way too much and were probably a bit overwhelming, she entertained it regardless, lol. If I could give this place 20 stars, I would!

Matthew Li

Chef showed creativity and talent in his creations.Vegetables were especially impressive (the roasted carrots and the mushrooms and polenta).Good service (attentive, unpretentious) and good atmosphere.Very enjoyable!

Kamal Ghaffari

Use to go here all the time, feel like the quality of service has gone down a lot since first opened. However the food still tastes great and surprisingly great brunch. Really miss the bone marrow with escargot!

Christy Evans

Amazing food and atmosphere with good music to enjoy your evening with friends. Our clients have been booking here every weekend and they have nothing but great things to say. Check them out!

Sandeep Wadhwa

Our first time dining in at Nightingale didn’t disappoint. The food and service was outstanding. Great prices especially during happy hour. We shared 3 different dishes and they were fantastic. We’ll definitely be back

Victor Yih

First time dining at this restaurant. Was a special occassion for myself and hubby. Had to comment that food was excellent, and the service from our server Sam was perfect. Menu item recommendations to wine picks were perefectly on point! Thank you for helping make our anniversary dinner great!

Dave Sauve

Not good, except for the tasty food. Our waiter treated us with a cool, bored disdain and the plates and drinks were mixed up twice at our table even though there were just the four of us. We were unfortunately seated on the upstairs level which is big and cavernous and we smelt the smoke wafting from the kitchen. Nice to see chefs are work but better behind a glass wall. Lock on toilet did not work. Ceilings too high and not cosy due to the absence of any candles. No bread on the menu, which should be the most basic staple of any restaurant. The "cocktail of the day" was the unimaginative oldie, the cosmopolitan (hint: the Sex and the City sitcom ended ages ago). The food was not plentiful (although it was delicious ) and had it not been for the few scraps of bread they brought (upon my request), I would have left the restaurant hungry. If you must go, ask to be seated on the smaller main level which has partly lower ceilings and looked more cosy as it has a fireplace and nice looking bar.

Ayisha Parmar

We spent a week in Vancouver, and loved this place so much, we ate there twice. Both times, blown away. The menu itself is so creative, and everything we tried, we absolutely loved. We tried completely different items the second time around, and left with the same feeling. The interior architecture, the bar, the pizza counter upstairs, and overall ambiance was overwhelming cool and beautiful. This is an excellent place for groups or date night. So much to see and discuss just based on the gorgeous fitout and menu alone. Last but not least: the team. The staff is like a family and they treat you like family when you are there. So sweet, and knowledgeable, and won't steer you wrong or try to oversell you. They gave great suggestions on both the wine and fare menu. Congratulations, guys. Awesome execution all around. Now open one up in LA!!!

Mat Ho

A great ambiance and was lucky to eat upstairs in a corner which allowed for an intimate dinner with my wife. Had all the well known dishes that were recommended by the waitress who was just the right amount of attentive throughout the night. Food was excellent and lots of interesting flavour pairings from like the brusselsprouts and concord grapes.

George McNamara

Everytime we visit, it always has been great experience both food and service, until the very last time when me and my husband went for quick drinks after lunch before their happy hour, it didn’t look super busy and we had seats at the bar right away, hostess who greeted us was very friendly and pleasant but the gentleman behind the bar was not having his day. (Or maybe he didn’t like us because he seemed to be having great conversation with another couple sitting beside us, I don’t know what his deal was) He was just straight up rude, didn’t seem to know how to talk to customers let alone other human being. Too bad, even if you have 100 great experiences, one bad experience totally ruin your idea for the restaurant (or any service/stores for that matter). Won’t be back for a while.

Gabriel

Perfect for sharing multiple dishes with someone inside your bubble. Their new layout feels very safe and everything is well distanced.

Jackie W

What a fantastic dining experience in Vancouver. The reservation process was simple, we were sat comfortably and promptly. Taylor was a treat - thanks pal! Our server was training a new server, and though our table was a little needy the service was efficient, questions were answered, our drinks were always full and smiles were on all night. Stellar casual fine-dining, a great sample of the many spots Vancouver has to offer. Wide open space, don’t go in expecting a stuffy quiet experience - expect life, vibrancy, and smiles. Gonna bring out-of-towners next time!

Benjamin Bolliger

Best martinis I've had in a long time. Venue is so cool

Andrew Neary

This place is another Vancouver gem! the pasta is freshly made in house! Try the vesper cocktail you will not be disappointed overall great menu and classy joint!

Maling Sun

Nightingale is my “go to” spot in Vancouver. There is no better fried chicken in the city. The pizza is outstanding, the starters are on rotation and there are so many different choices to satisfy anyone in your dining party. The service is impeccable, and the drinks are exquisite. My girlfriend and I are obsessed with Nightingale! You can eat here casually or make a night out of it. The food is 10/10, ambiance is 9/10, service is 10/10. Overall in my top 3 best restaurants in Vancouver.

Amy Rozier PREC

We were really disappointed. We visited with another couple - shouldn’t be difficult to serve 2 couples..,For a high end restaurant it was decidedly average. We were advised that everything is family style and the kitchen does not accept modifications or deletions from their menu items. Really? Cuz even McDonalds allows changes. We didn’t like it but said nothing. Those are the rules. The waitress marked off the items that would not be suitable. That was good...except the list wasn’t accurate. Our friends ordered an “approved” item but when it came the forbidden allergen was prominently displayed. Then the excuses started. We tried to minimize it cuz “why” doesn’t Matter at this point. Just please make it right so no one is embarrassed. We asked if the dish could be made with the sauce on the side allowing everyone the chance to enjoy the dish. The answer was No. No modifications or deletions....but we were offered the children’s version that was basically the core of the dish. One ingredient instead of about 5. That was a very poor solution...insulting actually. Our friends asked her to take the dish away. The children’s plate was offered again. We moved on with our night but we certainly discussed it after leaving. No one was happy. Even if their policy is not to comp something after such a mistake the issue should have been escalated to someone who could smooth over the incident. Left me wondering if it was poor training or poor policy. Is the no modifications or deletions policy in place because the kitchen doesn’t have the skill? Or because the food is prepared in advance...in a warehouse in Richmond. Dined at Chef Hawksworth’s restaurants before and have really been impressed. Need to go back to the drawing board on Nightingale

Chris Hermansen

Took a little bit of explaining from our waitress as to how things worked - its like a tapas arrangement, but not quite. All the staff were so nice and helpful and the food was great. The decorations on the walls were very cool too

Tyler Norman

I enjoyed the drinks! But the waiter ditched us and the lady who took over randomly wasn’t very welcoming? She seemed too busy for us when we asked for suggestions on drinks.

Ziyue Zhang

Stellar service, food and ambiance as usual. We came here Sunday afternoon for a late lunch and tried the following (starting with our favourites): pork belly, roasted cauliflower, arctic char, fried chicken, ragu duck pizza, pickled beets, mushrooms and yellowtail. Impeccable service - glasses filled, napkins folded, plates cleared, coats checked.

Peter Black

Really good food, and nice service. I would highly recommend the pork belly. I would stay away from the vegetarian dishes, because their prices are far too high for what you get. Great for groups and sharing.

alireza vazifedoost

The halibut ceviche and the pot de cremé are MUST tries. you will absolutely not regret it.

Shiven Sharma

Service was great, but I felt the food was average. The roasted cauliflower and beets dish were very good, but the arctic char was disappointing as well as the burrata toast. With all the toppings on the burrata, you can't even taste the cheese.

Rick Lum

Got the grilled arctic char, antipasti board, and the chickpea sald. All very polished and exceptional taste. Service was superb, accompanied by a very chic atmosphere and interior.

Daniel Hsu

Upscale decor and settings. Excellent service. However, the food quality was lacking. Most food were rather too salty. We went as a group and kids ordered a cheese pizza and even they didn’t like it ( perhaps wrong kind of cheese to make it too salty?) the food was creative but lacks fundamental flavour. The settings around the cooking area was extremely warm. Overall it’s nice to try out but have lots of room for improvements.

Julius Widerszpil

My brother and I came here for dinner and ordered the sea urchin, the gnocchi, the lamb pizza, and the pumpkin cheesecake. The sea urchin itself was good, but the bread was burnt and the char ended up overpowering everything. The gnocchi was by far the most disappointing dish; the truffles had little to no flavor, the sauce was extremely bland (it needed some citrus or something to give it some zing) , there wasn't enough burrata, and I felt myself getting bored of the dish within the first couple of bites. The worst part was that it comes in two sizes and the waiter assumed we wanted the large. It was our mistake that we did not specify what size we wanted, but as someone who works in the restaurant industry, I always double check with my customers on what size they want, especially if one size up is going to cost double the price. The lamb sausage pizza was a good neapolitan styled pizza, but nothing extraordinary. And lastly, the pumpkin cheesecake tasted like any other regular cheesecake. You could have told me it came out of a box and I would have believed you. My brother and I love Hawksworth, but I am sad to say that Nightingale is a very disappointing and overrated sister restaurant.

Made reservations for a work dinner for 6 people at 4:30pm. When we arrived we had advised another 2 people were invited. The server politely told us there was a $45 pre fixed menu required for any table with more then 6 people, no acceptions made. We were looking for drinks and a good spread of food to share, so we were not sure about a fixed dinner menu especially at 430pm. When we asked the second server (Caucasian women with tattoos on her arm) what was on the pre fix menu because the menu provided was the regular one. She was very rude and repeated the information the first server already told us but added “If you had called and told us of the update reservation, this conversation would have been had over the phone.” Who speaks like that to customers? Talking down to us. Once those words were spoken, we decided that a nice dining experience was over before even starting. In addition to after the 4 of us left, my other 4 colleagues showed up not knowing what had occurred, they asked for our table and the hosts and servers acted like no one from our table had come in at all. They acted like my name wasn’t ever on the list, even scrolling on their iPad and saying “Oh hmm sorry there no reservations under that name, hmm did you mean Christine?” Literally they did this 10minutes after we left. We strolled down to the cactus club and spent well over double each the pre fix price, but that’s not the point, we had 10x better service there then Nightingale. Worst restaurant ever, you want to be represented as fine dining however you do not provided excellent customer service and talk down to guests. My boss had reservations for Saturday and cancelled immediately. Well great work Nightingale, this information will be well passed through social media.

Elana Chan

Locally sourced delicious and beautifully prepared dishes served in a refined and refreshingly unpretentious atmosphere.

Clayton Sayer

Went back the 2nd time about 2 weeks ago since we had a great experience the 1st time there. We ordered:"Kale, shaved fennel, ricotta salata, bread crumbs, ‘green goddess’ dressing", "Roasted brussels sprouts, concord grape, pecan, sherry vinegar" and "Buttermilk fried chicken, spiced maple syrup, sumac, pickles." However the foods were really heavy in sodium and too much vinegar in the roasted Brussels sprouts. Don't recommend dinning there if you're sensitive to dishes with heavy sodium and seasoning.

Victoria Jamieson-McCaskill

The server was very attentive and the hosts were lovely too. We had a great evening here. And every dish was superb. I especially love the smoked prosciutto pizza, roasted cauliflower and the toffee pudding.

Minal C.

Amazing service, food was fresh and delicious. Hard to find a restaurant that has mostly healthy items up and down the menu. Fried chicken ratio of chicken to batter needs some work. Overall...Loved it!

Amanda Lim

Booked a table for 13 people for a birthday. For a party of that size a deposit is required. The booking process is very efficient. The table was upstairs in a cosy corner. One can select a set amount of dishes from a set menu which offered a nice variety. Every dish was excellent but dishes that stood out were: buttermilk fried chicken (so tender and tasty) - you may want to order more of this as it was a hit and some guests wanted seconds as the pieces were small, roasted mushroom pizza, arctic char (melted in your mouth) and grilled hanger steak. We brought in a cake and there was ~ $3 plating charge but the presentation of the slices of cake was thoughtful as they took decorations from the cake (chocolate leaves) and put one on every slice. Our server was excellent and made sure that the many dishes were brought at the same time and removal of plates was done quickly and the table was kept tidy. Drinks were kept topped up. Everyone left happy after an exceptional meal and a smooth experience from a group of professional staff. I highly recommend this restaurant!

tikki kim

Great place for celebration or a date night. Ambiance and decor is fantastic. the wait staff is very friendly. We sat at the bar this time and it was really busy. So the service for sitting at the bar was a tad slow. But the food was great. Reasonable prices and nice presentation. Theres lots on the menu to try... meant to share as some of the meat dishes would be too heavy for one person to have all in one sitting. I think the menu changes seasonally if I heard correctly so will def comeback and try some other items we didn’t get to try this time around. Highly recommend

Jess C.

Went to celebrate my friend’s 25th birthday and the waitress made it a bad experience. It was our second restaurant of the night so naturally we weren’t going to order as much, mainly wanted to share foods and have drinks. The blonde waitress kept interrupting on special moments like opening gifts & giving speeches, over 5 times in 2 hours. What bothered the entire group was that we did order - at least 4 plates and 10 drinks. Leave us alone for a bit to enjoy the moment. Not considering to go back since we’d have a better service at The Keg. Like other reviews said - for the price we expected better.

Thomas Wade

Awful service. Our server was rude and rushed us to get out. This place is so expensive you'd think they'd train their staff better. Ruined the night for all of us. Food was hit and miss. Some were delicious the rest meh. The portions were small. The food didn't stand out as much as the lousy cheap service. EDIT The General Manager of Nightingale actually reached out to our party and was amazing to deal with. I'm changing my review from a 1 to a 3 for that alone. I will be visiting again in the future and will adjust my review if need be.

M Nguyen

Great server. Forgot to get his name but he made sure I was well taken care of. I have a dairy allergy and he made sure to go through the menu with me to make sure that I was getting the best things for my dietary needs. He's shorter and has an accent. I hope this gets to You! Thank you for making my first time in Vancouver a memberal one!

Akash L.

I really like nightingale! The restaurant is located downtown on Burrard and West Hastings. My favorite dishes are the pork belly, hanger steak and rigatoni.

Cynthia Gignac

I am blown away every time I come. Incredible food, incredible cocktails and the staff just top it all off!

This place knows how to give you a complete dining experience. Impeccable service and knowledgeable waiters and sommeliers. Nice vibe and comfortable restaurant. Some dishes were really good and some soso. I felt the desserts were a bit overpriced ($12) for the small serving. Their house beer was delicious.

Helene Truong

Good food, but limited choice. Selection and restaurant ambience not matching the price you pay. Portions are pretty small as well. I would only recommend the pizza.

Paul Romani

Very disappointed in my experience here last night. I wanted to order the lamb but wanted it well done because I’m pregnant and am trying to avoid meat that isn’t cooked through. I was told that they are not willing to make modifications to any menu items. Do not go here if you have any dietary restrictions or concerns as they are inflexible and un accommodating. Many people I was with also complained their food was too acidic or too salty so overall it was a poor experience with mediocre service.

I had high expectations for the Nightingale because of so many good reviews from my peers, but my experience this evening was very subpar. The server didn’t feel genuine and the food was just ordinary. We had the mushrooms and cauliflower from the starters, the “special pasta” of the evening with white truffles (very mediocre in flavour, especially for $50), the clam spaghetti, the pork belly and the prosciutto & arugula pizza. Given how expensive the prices were, I was anticipating flavours and a culinary experience that was top notch, but I’m not sure I will be returning anytime soon. There are many other dining options available in Vancouver with better experiences and better food in my opinion.

Josh Ruff

Pretty decent to start. We arrived at 2:30 in the afternoon to take a colleague out to thank her for her hard work. We had a reservation for our table. Throughout the afternoon we ate and drank, paying our bill when the afternoon server got off shift. The food was pretty good, best being buttermilk chicken and oysters. After we paid our afternoon server we continued with desserts, cocktails, etc, until 7ish, when we were told we had to leave, because the table was needed. Nevertheless, a number of "walk-ins" had taken tables, and there were empty tables. After spending over 350 dollars (pre-tips), the manager, Angela Mireau, comped us one "round" of our cheapest drinks to compensate for kicking us out. Up until that point, we had been given no notice that the table was "reserved". As our second server said, it was a " business decision". That said, we were continuing to spend a good deal of money on drinks. In our collective experience, we weren't familiar with the approach Angela took with us from our experiences at other restaurants. It was unfortunate, and tainted the whole experience. What was more bizarre was the somewhat condescending approach she took to the three women at the table. Perhaps if we has been wearing suits and ties like some of the other tables.... What would have been a great afternoon, was unfortunately marred by an unusual approach to "improving business."

Food is amazing. Staff are knowledgeable and provide great service. Recommend it.

Kevin Han

Absolutely stunning food, service and decor. The freshness of the salads is phenomenal. The pizza crust is amazing too, so I must go back to try other pizzas. The food sizes are just enough for one, but much nicer to share a bunch. This is a massive place with amazing food, a must try. Seats facing the kitchen are thrilling as you also get free viewing of their wizardry at work.

Jonghoon Choi

Stunning place. Is often very busy and can be noisy, but the service is artful, and the food is incredible. The menu is heavily Italian, with some excellent Mediterranean-Arab touches. Chef Hawksworth's signature focus on textures is a noticeable theme throughout, as is the devotion to local and seasonal ingredients - the heirloom tomato salad and lamb popsicles were favourites, and the only dud was the somewhat bland fried chicken. Delicious cocktails, great wine, and super-approachable prices. A new favourite.

We went out for our anniversary dinner. When we entered we were greeted by a very friendly hostess. Our table wasn't ready but it was taken care of rather quickly. Our server brought us water very quickly. She handed us our menus and asked us if we wanted any recommendations. We thought why not. We ended up ordering a couple of her recommendations and a couple that struck or fancy. Everything was great. We tried the salmon ceviche, buffalo mozzarella pizza, octopus, crushed fava bean and pea toast, and salted caramel butterscotch creme pot. Everything was very good. The crushed fava as great as it was seemed a bit overpriced for a piece of toast. The pizza was one of the better ones I've had in a long time albeit it was not as piping as I'd like it. I know it seems a bit but picky. Other than that we really enjoyed it and we decided that we'd go back again.

If you eat out all the time this place will be somehow confuse your pallet, everyone can cook and only a few can create. This creativity lacked the finesse I found even at a simple burger at hawksworth. The overly sweet chicken, drowning in a pool of syrup. The watermelon salad was beautiful, but was one of the most foul tasting things my mouth has ever touched. Fellow tables agreed with us and sent it back. The pizza was somehow the saviour of it all, very well loaded and cooked. The pie was uneven and the flour underneath was burning. Poor demonstrations of culinary skills at best, top to bottom of the brigade ladder. Hopefully they work on the menu, and invite us back for something more decadent.

Richard Lam

I had dinner here with my family for my birthday and we ordered cheese pizza for my 6 yr old. The pizza came out very very burnt. The crust was not edible so my daughter could not even eat a piece. She normally loves her pizza crust. I tried a slice of pizza and it tasted just burnt because even the bottom of the pizza was burnt. I told a waitress about the brunt pizza and she told me that is the style of their pizza and it supposed to be burnt like that because it is wood fired oven pizza. I've had numerous wood oven pizza in my life and I have never had one so burnt that was not edible. If cancer causing burnt black pizza is what your restaurant aims for, you guys should learn how to cook pizza all over again. Wood fired or not, pizza should not be burnt black!! Thanks for ruining my birthday dinner and I will never go back and tell everyone I know not to dine there. Just terrible.

Jedi Master

Popped in for a quick lunch last week and although they were very busy kindly accommodated us is their upstairs area that views the busy kitchen. The food exceeded all expectations - you must have the heirloom tomato salad. So glad to have found this restaurant and will definitely be returning. Vancouver has some fabulous eat out places and this one is by far in my top 10. Thanks Nightingale for a fabulous dine in experience. Food, ambiance, staff are amazing and the food - just go there and try it.

Nightingale is a beautifully-designed restaurant and the food is very good. The menu is large and full of many interesting dishes. They do some great pizzas in a stunning brick oven, although it seemed that the toppings were a bit sparse on our lamb sausage pizza. The service was attentive, though at times felt rushed - maybe because the place was so busy. The pasta for the housemade tortelloni seemed too thick, in my opinion. In general, everything was well done. They have a very good happy hour as well.

Ryan Devlin

The staff was really well informed on everything in the menu and especially when it came to the wine and other drinks. A biiit too over priced. Paid about $30 for fried chicken and a small dessert. But hey. If you're feeling fancy, it's a great place to go.

Dawood Francis

Lovely space with fantastic decor, always a variety of fresh seasonal cuisine. The pizza is amazing. This is a good place for dates or special occasions, after work cocktails and appies, business dinners, the list goes on. It's an ideal spot for a reasonably priced dinner out - not too expensive.

Kevin Hu

Pork belly was superb.. Maybe switch Balsamic for Worcestershire sauce on the Sprouts as slightly overpowering. Cocktails were great. Fantastic service.

Harrison Grant

ShawOpen wifi available Walking distance from Burrard Skytrain Happy hour Sunday - Wednesday 3pm-530pm Good selection of food and drinks Nice ambiance, service was good and food was good Ordered moscow mule with pizza from the happy hour menu

Rachel Stopard

Unfortunately, after a fantastic first drink the server brought over the absolute worst dirty gin martiny friend and myself have ever had. We likely would have sent it back if it wasn't for the snarky server who made us feel uncomfortable to do so. When we finally got our bill we were charged $12 for water....and were a little dumbfounded by the lack of professionalism by staff. The warm olives were lovely, but not enough to save the evening.

Great food, very good service, nice ambiance

By far the best surprise while visiting Vancouver! We ordered 4 starters and dessert, all amazing and unique (Antipasti board, Roasted bone marrow, Braised meatballs and must-have Buttermilk fried chicken). We were two adults and a half (5 year old daughter) and absolutely pleased with the portions. The cocktails taste fantastic (a tad small IMO), and are high quality. Carthusian blossom was our favorite! Definitely recommended!

Matsvei Yafimau

Beautiful location, staff were excellent and every single thing we had to eat and drink was wonderful.

Kailyn Sokasians

Let me start off by saying that all of the food we had here was absolutely delicious! Really well made by the chef! However there seemed to be little attention to how the food looked as it did look rather unpleasant. Another thing was that the menu was unnecessarily confusing and hard to read, seemed very rushed. There is also a complete lack of customization of foods which really makes something like a steak unpleasant when you have to have it medium rare! Because of the complete lack of customization of foods and the fact that you can’t even change the way the steak is cooked makes this place an undesirable place to eat if you have family or young ones. Overall food was delicious but I would not come back.

Sarah Bailey

????Happy???? Hour! Their menu is small but impressive! Baked sweet potato with habanero hot sauce is a fantastic complement to the sweetness of the potato. Pickled shallot, bacon ???? bits and creme fraiche make this beautifully balanced. Buttermilk fried chicken with a spiced maple syrup. ???? ???? ???? Sooooo good! I’ve never tried baba ghanouj before but I’m a fan! It paired well with the sourdough. Might need another slice of ????! Their margherita pizza and baked in their wood-stone ???? pizza oven. Simple ingredients done well! I also ordered their Bramble which is gin, blackberry and ????. A beautiful summer beverage! .

Hamoon B

I found some of their zzas at UrbanFare and I’m so happy that you can take little bit of Nightingale experience home! So happy! But can’t wait to come back for dine in!

Brian Chan

one of the best experiences i’ve had at a restaurant, ever. the chicken appetizer was amazing and wonderful drinks and cocktails. we will be returning

A S

I went there last night. I’ve been there a few times and had a nice experience. I must say if you’re going to charge fine dining prices then you must provide a fine dining experience. We sat down in the restaurant only to notice how hot it was. We Were sweating like crazy. We asked the waitress why is it so hot and she replied it’s always hot in here it’s just the way it is. My fiancé and I couldn’t get over the fact that the wait staff are wearing mostly jeans and running shoes. If you want to provide a casual atmosphere then please charge casual prices. Furthermore when our pizza came it was burnt too hell. This restaurant has really fallen off. BTW I normally never write reviews good or bad but this place was just horrible last night.

Katherine Holmes

Amazing ambiance with great customer service! The food was amazing: Got the mushroom pizza, clam spaghetti, and fried butter chicken. Couldn’t stop dreaming about that chicken for another week. The spaghetti was a perfect al-dente with very delicious white sauce and decent amount of clams. Pizza was one of the best wood over pizzas I’ve tried. The waitress was very friendly and helpful, explained the menu and I could tell was very knowledgeable. Not to forget, the food was fairly priced and we left full and completely satisfied with the experience!

Michelle Ma

Service was exceptional, food was absolutely delicious, atmosphere was lively. Prices are reasonable for quality and portion size. I would have loved to try every single thing on the menu but alas, I can only eat so much! We had the roasted cauliflower, Gramigna lamb ragu and the half chicken. Everything was cooked perfectly. Must try if you're in Vancouver. Edit: we liked it so much we ordered pizza for takeout the next day! Still delicious!

Jonathan Newman

Sat at chef's table, amazing experience. The Chef was friendly and took the time to discuss how he pit together such a cohesive team. The food was amazing and the recommended wine pairings worked great. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant. Friendly hack... We split the wine pairings to not have too much and they split it for you. Great atmosphere, service, and food.

Mr ATeam604

Amazing food and great atmosphere

Daniel Diez Canseco

Nightengale is excellent. Their menu is extensive and offers alot of variety, and because their plates are designed to share there is alot of opportunity to try a variety of menu items. Even though they do not allow substitutions, I was pleasantly surprised that the staff were equipped to provide recommendations for my food allergies, including gluten free and vegetarian options. The food is tasty, well balanced and complementary of the dishes on the menu which should not be a surprise. They have a great wine list and the servers were good. I love that they have coat check and were very welcoming when we arrived. I really loved the atmosphere, ambiance and decor of the restaurant and was enamored by it. I will definitely be back. Thank you for such a lovely meal.

Janine Conick

Amazing adjustments made for COVID; ample space to remain separated, and the service is as usual above and beyond anything else in town. Food is obviously stellar, still. This place handles a business lunch with the same aplomb as it does an anniversary dinner. Unreservedly recommended.

Momoka Chn

First time at Nightingale and it did not disappoint! Was a milestone birthday for me, and they gave us one of the best tables in the restaurant. Our server George was great from start to finish and the food was incredible! Favourites were the halibut ceviche, fried chicken and green pea pasta. We've been disappointed with Hawksworth in the past and our Nightingale experience redeemed that. This restaurant is a shining star for the Hawksworth group. Second visit in August celebrating multiple birthdays and our server Shaun was friendly, on point and awesome. Love Nightingale!

Tracy Lai

Beautiful atmosphere and food was great. The duck lasagna was incredible. Love the wine selection. Unfortunately, the staff did not live up to the expectations this restaurant presents you. I have worked in restaurants, so I completely understand how a busy night feels. It just felt like we were a burden rather than a guest.

Sura Alwarid

Well balanced and exiting flavour combinations. Tried it for lunch, found that we had to try it for dinner. 5/6 dishes were delicious, fine dining style. The scallops are excellent, the pasta cooked aldente so even an Italian would approve. The nice charred coliflower would have worked better with the other dishes without the lemon/vinegrette. 4 dishes are just the right size for 2 to share. They also have pizza. Interesting combination.

Cory Clendenning

Wow! Nightingale lives up to its billing as a creative, wide-ranging, and comforting restaurant. The decor is luxe without feeling too fancy. The menu has something for everyone. This visit included the beet hummus, roasted cauliflower (try it!), and the duck ragu pasta. Carrot cake for dessert. We will be back to try another combination of big and small plates. Highly recommend sitting at the bar, too. Keegan took great care of us and recommended some wonderful dishes and cocktails for this visit and the next.

Stephanie Cosacescu

Exceptional in EVERY way! Nightingale.truly was the best way for us to close the book on our Canadian adventure. The restaurant itself was just so perfect, with its design and so forth so immaculate, I couldn't help but smile when we entered. The atmosphere was calm and the aromas gave me chills. Our server was very knowledgable and so passionate about everything on the menu that it only made it even harder to choose what we should order. The food we consumed was the ultimate in perfection + the wine (both local and foreign) we consumed was delicious. The price at the end was so reasonable that we were both taken aback by how little we spent given the amount we ate and drank,. PS, the PB&J ice-cream sandwich. Oh my goodness. The menu description does not do it justice. When in Vancouver, make sure to book in at Nightingale!

Alistair Mason

Great place with very nice bar. Ordered Manila clam spaghetti but got three bites of sand/stone.... Toothache. Get a taste of wine before ordering, great service.

Daniel Archer

Had dinner at Nightingale's pop up patio recently, good service and good food. It was my first time dining at the restaurant, the dishes are more tapas style sharing food, so my group of 3 ordered 2 large, and 3 smaller dishes and 1 dessert, and it was a fair amount to keep us full. My personal favourites were the trottole (we added burrata, but I would skip it next time) and roasted eggplant. I thought the ceviche had a bit too much of a cilantro flavour that took away from the fish, and the pork belly could've been a bit more tender. They used to come with fruit slices as per other reviewers' pictures (these may be years old, when they first introduced the dish), but ours' just had a bunch of greens. I think some additional flavour might've been better. That being said, our waiter was attentive and not pushy on number of dishes to order, etc. which I appreciated as it is a higher end place to eat. I'd like to come back to try some of their other small dishes, and for the trottole!

Anna K

I love the food and the atmosphere there. It's not a quiet place, so you can relax and talk with your friend loud over food and some drink. I like the interior design, and the food there is very nice!

Hang Nguyen

Outstanding at every turn. Some of the best chicken I've ever had, top shelf

madilyn ponce

Great atmosphere and Interesting dishes. Loved the marrow and kale salad. Extremely fresh ingedient!

Sarah

Words can’t explain how great there food is. This is one of the best places that I have been that I can say I can recall how unique the taste of each dish was. The atmosphere is just beautiful with an old Victorian style theme. The staff is just wonderful and very inviting. The price... I was expecting to pay way more for the type of food and experience. I highly recommend this place. Can’t forget to mention the desert, just outstanding !!

Maverick Walker

My husband and I came to Nightingale for an anniversary dinner and were impressed with all aspects of our experience. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and attentive, the space is huge with a different feel upstairs and downstairs, and the menu has options for every kind of diner. We shared 6 different dishes from the menu plus 2 desserts and left extremely full and satisfied. I personally really appreciated the amount of veggie dishes on the menu! If you like restaurant kitchens, this is one to check out! Great experience and looking forward to going back.

Most embarrassing dinner experience I had! My family decided to go to Nightingale restaurant, to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We did not have a reservation, but received a table after few minutes of waiting. One hour into our meal, my husband wanted to order a drink. This is when the waiter came to tell us that (I am quoting his words) “he will be served the drink, but he’ll have drink it really fast because we have to leave the table in 10 min”. They had a reservation coming and had to ask us to leave shortly. So, $300 and one hour later, we left with our dinner not finished and my husband celebration destroyed. We’ll never set foot in this restaurant ever again, and we’ll make sure to let everybody know how embarrassed and upset we felt.

It's Friday night and it's a start of a hot summer days to come in Vancouver. To start of the weekend, we came to Nightingale for happy hour and seated at pop up patio outside. It was a hot and beautiful day and why not eat outside? I love the flowers on Nightingale's entrance. The pop-up patio was nice and we were quickly seated at a table for two. My hubby order a drink, "bramble" with gin, blackberry and lemon; it was refreshing. First snack was baba ghanouj and it's my favourite! Great flavours on sourdough bread. Next was backed sweet potatoe and it was dressed with habanero hot sauce, pickled shallots, chive creme fraiche and crispy prosciutto. Delicious! The buttermilk fried chicken was perfect, crispy and moist chicken. Lastly, margherita pizza was lovely. I read they have wood-stone pizza oven which delivers Roman style pizza with delicious crust. The staff was amazing making our experience wonderful and inviting. Definitely COVID friendly.

Diana

Got the Pepperoni mozzarella and it was cold... Ruined my whole day!

Dal Sidhu

Very good place over all. Ask to be seated on the top floor, it will positively influence your experience. Staff is a bit stretched even on week night. However, the highlight of our experience was the Bar. Betty is one of these most knowledgeable bar tender I had the pleasure to meet. She single handedly made our already good dinner become a unique and educative moment. She adds alone one star to this review.

Shan Google

Loved coming here, I think this was the best pizza in Vancouver but today... no modifications in the menu, doesn’t matter if you have food restrictions, apparently they have a wide selection so you can make up your mind... frozen food? Who knows...

Brietta Stewart

My husband and I came here for lunch. The restaurant is gorgeous, high ceilings, beautiful fixtures, lovely fireplace, great bar. All Decked out in Christmas. Just beautiful. We both ordered a cocktail. The drinks were delicious. Great, friendly, informative server. The food is tapas style. We ordered 4 dishes. All the food was fresh and delicious. The Hamachi cheeks were moist and tasty. The butternut squash tortellini was very yummy. Salted caramel pot de creme was amazing. A really great meal. The bill came out to around $100.00 for lunch so a little pricey. But you get what you pay for. A great place to spoil yourself.

gurpinder sidhu

Service is great. Decor is very beige. Food is OK, but for the price, I expected much better. We had a couple of things that were standouts, but we certainly didn’t leave the restaurant feeling like it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had. At that price point, I expected more, particularly when there’s places like Wildebeest that are really making a tapas menu stand out. The menu is really big, which I think may be the downfall in that it’s difficult to narrow down what to order. I bet there were other things on the menu that I would’ve enjoyed more, which is why a more guided chef’s choice option should always be available at a restaurant like this. UPDATE: we decided to give Nightingale another try, 2 years later. Wow, do we ever regret this decision. CAVEAT: we ordered take out for our anniversary dinner because we aren’t comfortable dining in right now, so this isn’t an issue with service or anything like that. I don’t mean to be rude, but it was top 10 one of the worst meals I’ve ever eaten. I’m so disappointed to say this, believe me! I wanted it to be so much better. The sweet potato and the salted caramel pot de creme were really good, but everything else was genuinely awful. We ordered the broccolini, gramigna, mortadella pizza, roasted pork belly, and cheese pizza for our toddler. Everything tasted ever so slightly burnt and the flavours were either overwhelming or underwhelming. I don’t know if we just keep having terrible luck because most people seem to really enjoy the food here, but I think we will steer clear from now on.

Cindy Samra

Loved their brussel sprouts! Also the caramel brulee was the best desserts to finish.

Adrienne Switzer

Beautiful room, delicious food, great service. It may throw off new guests to know that dishes come out of the kitchen as they are ready, but our server made sure we knew this and there was not much delay between dishes.

Tracen Duval

Absolutely awesome! I am a MAJOR foodie, we dine at hot spot restaurants around the world and know how hard it is to find spectacular food. Nightingale is friendly, fun and the food is out of this world. The menu was so awesome that we literally could not decide what to get so we went ahead and ordered a whole bunch of dishes and shared everything. This worked quite well as the dishes were extremely flavorful but not too big. We had pizza, lamb, fries, sweet potatoes, 2 desserts (OMG don't leave without having dessert) and some wildly awesome drinks. Every single thing was beyond perfection. The service was pristine, the ambiance was beautiful and welcoming. I also need to make the point that the prices are VERY reasonable, for those who understand the cost of making this caliber of food, you'll note that the prices are actually very good. Nice work team Hawksworth! You have built another restaurant that will be a landmark eatery in Vancity.

Ashley Keegan

Lovely dinner and drinks! A girlfriend and I went here early for happy hour and tried the fries, fried chicken, and pizza. Food was pretty good with the fried chicken being the best thing... was so flavourful! Drinks were awesome and perfectly made. We tried a small plate of the hand made butternut squash pasta as well and were blown away by the taste - definitely order this one even though it’s not on the happy hour menu.

Dianna J

A fantastic restaurant that offers an amazing dining experience. Go there, make the reservation now or walk-in and enjoy. It’s one of the restaurants that does even the boring things well, surprising the tastebuds making you want more. Great for special occasions as well as a just a delicious meals out on a week night.

Kary Ko

Manager of #1 restaurant in Calgary, Vero Bistro, recommended me to visit Nightingale. Oh boy, it was sooooo worth it :) Amazing, top-class food; very-very impressive wine and spirits list; prompt and attentive service; incredible venue! Thank you guys, you made my night!

Lisa Lopez

Food was good, on the sweater side. Great service.

real Pro

Truly our favourite restaurant in Canada. A must visit whenever we return to Vancouver from the Okanagan.

lea “Lea” howard

Their buttermilk fried chicken is so good, you'll want to order it for delivery and just eat it straight out of the box. Burgers are full of flavor, perfect size for any appetite, and cooked medium-rare just the way we like them.

Ryan Fischer

Overall experience was positive. Great food, atmosphere and service. Food itself was a bit hyped up by the media and other food critics. We were expecting the flavours would flow well with each bite, but it just felt that there were too many spices going on with each dish. Above average for sure, but hard to meet the standards of its partner restaurant, Hawksworth

S B

My wife got lactose contamination even after we told them many times she has dairy allergy. Food tasted weird. We order 10 dishes and everyone of them had that same issue of the food being over powered by salt or sauce, or both. The food did not leave us feeling energized, but tired and lethargic. Will not be taking my clients there.

Emilie Takahashi

Great location, I personally did not appreciated the casual dress code of the serving staff that was in contrast with the poshyness of the restaurant itself. Interesting menu and we'll presented. Prices are downtown average.

Soul Mohamadi

Great experience, everything we had was delicious, service was impeccable. Menu a tad overwhelming but options are never a bad thing. Ceviche here was the best I've had.

Eric Wong

Very tasty food and very expensive of course. Lovely interior both upstairs and downstairs. It's all worth it if you get the service to match. Unfortunately, we were let down by our server who looked bored out of her brains (despite having with to do), rarely checked in with us, wasn't friendly and denied us one last happy hour drink 2 minutes past the hour. This was frustrating as we had been looking for her for 10 mins. But of course.. she decided to finally plaster a fake smile on her face when wanting a tip.

Wenda Lyons

The service was impeccable. Worried about prior reviews of being too loud - we had a table on the wall - and had no trouble at all having a great conversation. The food was amazing - pizza (thin crust my style), fried chicken (must try), scallops, meatballs - all great choices - 6 was plenty for a group of 4. The only disappointing dish (good not great) was the carrot cake but the pot de creme made up for it. Would go back next time we are in Toronto!

Lauren Goebel

Previously, my experiences at nightingale has been great but the recent two times I dined at this restaurant, my experience was dampened by the same waitress who waited on me both times. She has blond hair and tattoos on her arms and on her neck. She has an overall nonchalant demeanour and not attentive at all. My experience tonight was worse than my last. To begin with, this particular waitress was not attentive as per usual. Then while we were in the middle of eating our main courses, she comes to our table to tell us that if we wanted deserts we better order now because we only had 30minutes left in our reservation. So literally while we were eating our food, she brought over the desert menu and we had to order then and there. And then since we had to be rushed out of the restaurant, this waitress began to be more attentive, checking on us frequently so we can pay our bill and be on our way. This was a very unfortunate experience since I have always enjoyed the food at nightingale and other servers seemed friendlier. Perhaps the restaurant should reconsider her employment.

steven david

We had the privilege of sitting at one of the chef's tables, where we watched the kitchen staff work its magic while receiving exceptional service from our waitress and personal recommendations from the head chef, himself. Everything that we ordered was, simply put, amazing.

James McKinnon

This is honestly one of the best tasting foods I've ever put in my mouth. We were a party of 6 and ordered all different dishes and shared. Every single dish was delicious. I couldn't believe how good it was. I will be back for sure!

Doron Or

Perfect atmosphere for date night. Delicious dishes, helpful and cheerful staff

Julien

We came here for drinks around 9:30pm, although the restaurant was quite empty at this time, it seemed as if we were bothering our server by being there. She seemed disappointed that we were not having dinner. When the bill came, there was a 20% service charge, which I completely understand given we were 9 people, but it would have been a nice courtesy to have let us know before we sat down or at least when the bills came. On a more positive note, the front staff was amazing and very welcoming, but unfortunately, our server did not live up to that welcoming spirit. The ambiance and décor is nice, and it has a classical feel to it. But, would not return again.

Laurencia Kuncoro

What a wonderful experience dining at Nightingale. The building and interior are beautiful. We loved the casual atmosphere the servers created helping us to enjoy the experience and the variety of food. As recommended we choose to order a number of dishes to share and enjoyed each. I particularity loved that the ingredients were local and in season. The building is beautiful

N Van

The food, service, and decor were amazing. Every dish was excellent, you really can't go wrong here. The dishes are prepared with sharing in mind, they suggested two per guest, which we found to be the exact right amount. I'll definitely go back. Great for meals that matter: dates, client meetings, celebrations. Great also for an everyday dinner, the place wasn't stuffy and haughty.

Darren Lozinik

Amazing place to hangout and eat :)

O'Shea Arrieta

We have been to Nightingale 5 times now and have never been disappointed. We love to sit at one of the chef's tables where you get a nice view of the kitchen and see how they prepare different dishes. This is also a great way to decide what you are going to eat because you see all the different dishes and how they are presented. This time the tomato salad and the fried chicken were particularly outstanding. Highly recommended.

I wish I could give zero stars. It’s a shame because this restaurant has a lot of potential. I asked the waitress if they could do they could do the penne arrabiata without the Parmesan. She told me “if she asked the chef to modify anything, the chef would tell my manager and the manager would tell me I don’t deserve to work here”. The arrogance of the chef(s) ruined my experience. I feel bad for the service staff and won’t be back...

Amazing food. Great wine list and cocktails. When they say they recommend x number of plates for your table size, believe them. Unless you are hungry ????

Celebrated a friend's birthday here. Great variety of items on the menu. Food and wine was delicious.

Reservations are closed on Weekends. Called them, rudely answered by "We are fully booked you can reserve for next month" or "walk-in". I went there, and the shortest time was 3.5 hours! Even if they serve good food (which I don't know …

one of my favorite bar in town so far ,fried chicken was so good ,with spicy maple syrup was amazing.pizza was good too bartender was friendly and always keep eyes on customer for water and drink .check the food was good enough or not.maybe go back next time.

Emmery Holmes

Went there like last week. I have been there a couple times over the last few years. Really dropped in terms of experience and will not go back. Also they forgot an item I ordered and took a really long time on another to the point where I canceled it; they forgot to take it off my bill. Manager was good about it but I'm no where close to giving the minimum suggested grat of 18%. Go to published in main

Service was efficient. Food was fine... cold, machine like robotic precision dropping my plates in front of me. I would describe the experience like this: the restaurant is gorgeous...like you think you're on a date with a pretty rich girl who has an Ivy League education but in reality you're paying for a garish, overpriced hooker (I mean escort). David hawksworth has been in the restaurant industry for several years but he never attended culinary school. Perhaps this is true of many well established chefs but I'm more confident in chefs who have received a traditional culinary education (not just by experience in the kitchen).

As a picky eater, I have never hesitated to try anything on the menu at Nightingale, ‘cause I know it won’t disappoint! Make sure to ask for daily specials, they really are special :) As a regular (I probably head over once a week), I can’t recommend and praise this restaurant enough. At the same time, I don’t want too many people to like the restaurant ‘cause I’m already having trouble making reservations ????

I have a mixed review for this restaurant. Bear with my explanation as to why. The food was excellent...we had the watermelon salad...omg spicy deliciousness! The corn on the cob...very yummy and the Brussel sprouts...highly recommend as it has amazing balsamic on it. Next we had the cod and lamb ragu...both fantastic. Here's our issue...we wanted to chat with the sommelier re our wine choices. He'd just left our table when the ragu arrived. What?! The pinot noir hadn't even been decanted yet!! We sent the ragu back until our wine arrived. Next the brussel sprouts arrive. Still neither wine have showed up (we also ordered a sauvignon blanc too for the halibut). Ugh, we tried to slowly eat this course while waiting for the wine and then the halibut shows up. We send it back too b/c still no wine. Finally, the wine shows up delivered by the excellent and personable sommelier (we really enjoyed talking to him). Then our mains came back along with the corn. We finished with desserts and coffee. So, while we loved the food, several improvements could be made to the service before a 5☆ rating is awarded.

Very loud. Lovely lovely atmosphere. Most of the food was slightly over seasoned or sauced. The sauces or seasoning masking the actual flavours of the lamb and cauliflower. The pizza was very good as was the gnocchi. What really offended our party though was a request to have the ice cream that came with one of our dessert not served on top, but preferably on the side as one person had an intolerance and one person simply dislikes melted ice cream. We were told NO dishes could be altered that was the policy of the restaurant. The arrogance of this statement is ridiculous. When we complained the poor waitress brought us a bowl so that we could remove the ice cream ourselves. So if you like an slightly overpriced, slightly over seasoned, lovely looking restaurant that takes itself so seriously it refused to cater to a customers simple needs because it doesn’t want to ruin their plating then by all means enjoy. We won’t be back

Hidden on West Hasting, Vancouver, Nightingale is a gem to be discovered. The atmosphere is unbelievably cozy and warm. Sitting in a well-decorated area, whether on 1st or 2nd floor, you will enjoy a top notch serving by the waiters & waitresses. ???? Undoubtedly, order the food with a special sign beside it. They are prepared based on Hawksworth Cookbook. You can’t imagine how different the taste is for both food and dessert. The menu is also well designed for the ease of order. Don’t miss the «roasted brussels sprouts» as you will experience something wow!!! ???? Make sure you will try desserts, especially the «salted caramel pot de crème».

christine mann

Food was really good, especially the pizza. There's a good upbeat energy and the decor is cool. The food came out sporadically which hurt the flow as we got several plates to share (per waitress' recommendation).

Lance

Very good service, delicious food, and great atmosphere. All their dishes are great for sharing with a group. The drink menu is excellent as well. Highly recommend this place!

What a hidden gem! Ticked away in a building on west Hastings, never knew it existed even. The decor is out of this world & the food is top notch. Went at lunch & Had the beef cheek and shared the mushroom pizza. We asked the waiter to let the chef know we like things under salted - so they went easy salt. Everything was cooked to perfection, the pizza was a perfect combo of flavours and the crust was so yummy I could eat it on its own. The beef cheek melts in your mouth. Nice add is they have kombucha as a drink option, I LOVE IT!

Tricia C

Great food, AMAZING service!! Would definitely come back and recommend to others!

Charged for small refills of soda water for the one guy who wasn’t drinking alcohol. Ordered a couple bottles of wine, bill was over $300 for three people and they are charging $3 for every small soda refill. Pretty tacky if you ask me. Meal was pretty good, not as well executed as previous visits. Service was on the slow side but part of that was pair what we ordered and bringing it in stages. Broccolini was undercooked and over char’d. Beet humus was great, pork belly dish was overcooked and a little dry. You’d have a much better rendition at a decent Chinese restaurant for half the price. It’s a beautiful restaurant but disappointed in a number of ways this visit.

JT CW

Food and drinks are fantastic! Would recommend their artisan pizzas. A must try! They get very creative with some of their dishes so might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I loved it. Staff are also quite knowledgeable and courteous. I came here once pre-covid and once during covid. I found the seating during pre-covid to be too cramped. I'm glad they were forced to space the table out it during covid. It's much better during covid as they space tables which gives more privacy. Hopefully they can keep it this way for the long run.

Very delicious dining and friendly staffs

Alexis Hara

This place was much tastier than expected. We ordered the chitarri pasta (duck ragu), the mushroom pizza, and the hanger steak. It was all amazing and very decent portion sizes. The interior is beautiful with an exposed kitchen upstairs. I loved everything but the pasta was my least favourite as it always seems similar wherever I go. I will definitely go again

Saham Ghaffari

Great service. Dishes are a bit salty and a bit too much vinegar/burnt on the cauliflower but overall a wonderful lunch. Butter chicken, lamb sausage pizza, pork belly were delicious.

Nastasia Genova

I have to start we only went nad had cocktails so I can't comment if food but the cocktails were great, and the staff were really friendly. The building is very nice and clean.

Renu Singh

Service is excellent. The brussel sprouts, lamb, and bone marrow was average. This pizza was quite good. Flavors and the seasoning overwhelms the main dishes.

Kelsey H

Really enjoyable! Every dish we tried was delicious. The sharing concept worked well - I was dining with my teenage son and his friend, and it was great to be able to sample a number of dishes. (I wish we'd had room to try dessert!) Found pricing quite reasonable and service friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Will definitely return on my next visit to Vancouver.

Coco Pink

Went there for my boyfriend’s birthday. Our server Tracy was amazing. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and attentions. The food was amazing and we loved everything we ordered! The cocktails were really nice as well! On a separate note, they don’t do anything for birthday’s.

Tracey 0123

Good atmosphere and friendly staffs. We ordered a couple of small dishes and a pizza. The pizza was a little bit salty but the dough was so tasty. The cocktails were the best in town. My sister and I were planning to order only one cocktails on Sunday evening since we had a glass of Rosé already, but we ended up ordered two cocktails each. Their cocktails are like a fine perfume, we enjoyed them the top, middle and base notes with every single sip. It has been a week since I had their cocktails, I miss them. I will definitely be back soon for the cocktails.

Martin Barakso

Fine (read: expensive) dining prices, casual ambiance in a sophisticated establishment. I shared various tapas and a pizza with friends, will return to indulge in other delicacies on the menu.

Daniel Debartolo

Dinner and drinks on a Father Daughter date. Beautiful Trendy Restaurant and Bar and George was the perfect waiter and very attentive ensuring all our needs were met. He recommended 3 to 5 plates for 2 of us. Since we were both hungry we ordered 3 small and 2 large plates. The brussel sprouts were excellent with the exception that the portion was small considering that ingredients are so cheap an we wanted some "greens" with our dinner. We also ordered the small bone marrow and meatballs. No issues with portion size on these 2 small plates. We then ordered 2 large plates, the Braised Pork Cheek and the Flat Iron Steak. These dishes looked awesome and were right sized, but the Steak, Pork Cheek and the Bone Marrow were all under seasoned and disappointedly bland. When I asked for salt and pepper, I did get a pepper mill, but no salt grinder (just paper salt packages). The "hasselback potatoes (plural) was actually half a whole medium baked potato that was partially sliced but still whole. There was absolutely no seasoning on this potato and it was dry and uninteresting even with the small amount of black pepper crème fraîche. I should probably give this 4 stars with George's Service and ambiance. This could easily be 5 stars with some more attention to seasoning and taste as the ingredients were all high quality. Cost was $200 total with 2 cocktails, 2 beer and tip. Worth the money if the seasoning is improved. I will return and hope for improvements mentioned.

Kelvin Lau

Great food and experience. The dishes are small and meant to be shared so keep that in mind. The food is brought out slowly over the course of the meal so it's a nice experience trying the dishes one at a time. They do have full entrees as well if that's what you're looking for.

Claire

Will definitely bring friends from out of town here! Brussel sprouts, clam pasta, and mushroom pizza were the best!! Service was superb too and I loved the ambience!

Barbara Eakin

Good prices for great food. All dishes are recommended for sharing, which is a great option because you get to try so much more good food. Solid cocktails as well.

Hugh Needham

The vibe is cool, the service was great and the food was exceptional. Highly recommend the fried chicken and halibut ceviche, top notch. Will definitely go back and explore the menu...

Anmol Gill

I always wish I could give half stars, because I would say it wasn’t 5, but not 4 either. I really loved most of the dishes the roasted cauliflower, the beet salad, amazing. Cocktails? Also excellent. Our big plate though was the pork belly - it’s new on the menu, and we were asked what we thought. We said quite honestly that it wasn’t great - it wasn’t crisped up and it was served kind of luke-warm - which really isn’t great for pork belly... the staff seemed really interested in our feedback, which I loved - but we still paid full price for something that was subpar. No doubt they’ll fix that dish up soon though, so I still highly recommend - just maybe wait for a bit for them to perfect the pork belly.

Karina Canada

Excellent service from the get go. Friendly hosts and servers were there to explain everything on the menu. The rabbit meatball pizza was delightful and the kale and fior de latte complemented the dish very well. The bone marrow was excellent as well but the winner in that dish were the condiments it was served with. The Arctic char was simply amazing. The fish was flaky, buttery, and melted in your mouth. Desserts were decadent. Will definitely be coming back again. However, reservations are definitely needed as it gets really busy every night.

Beth Adrienne

I rarely leave reviews, however, based on the continued excellence in service and food that we've experience at nightingale, a positive review is in order! We've been dining here for some time now and, are, consistently impressed by the high level of service and amazing food!!! Consistency is really hard to achieve especially in dining but they've managed to achieve it here! Always a wonderful experience, highly recommend to anyone who appreciates great food, service and atmosphere!

Nick Pizza

Coming highly recommended by friends, our first visit was a great experience. Location, ambience, service, cocktails and appetizers were excellent. The Bramble cocktail - amazing!

David L

went there for lunch on a saturday. the pastas, pizza, and buttermilk fried chicken were the standouts. however, that was ruined by a waitress who was rude, condescending, and generally look displeased at us. she essentially told us we had to get shared plates (rather than own entrees) or else. quite a strange experience to get such poor service at this type of establishment

Hubert Michalus

I ordered from Doordash, and cannot honestly wait to go again in person. The food was delicious. The buttermilk chicken was flavourful and perfectly crispy. Pizza was also great - springy with the right amount of toppings. The menu looks so diverse and I can’t wait to try more.

SJ Kee

I've eaten here whenever I'm visiting Vancouver..great location and lovely room. The food is always top notch and shared plates is always enjoyable for a fun table. The cocktails are also delicious...definitely recommended if your in Vancouver!

Adam Darsh

Beautiful place, amazing food and friendly staff. One of the places in Vancouver!

L L

Just had dinner this evening. We had the margarita pizzas. Very much like ‘bar food’ pizza. Nothing special - too salty, prolonged greasy aftertaste. Location/decor is great however. Noise reflective interior if you enjoy loud dinning. Food quality is not up to par. Will not return.

Afrose Khan

Went during happy hours, drinks were good service was excellent. However food selections was kind of disappointing. $8 for bland huge potato wedges w/ dipping sauce, there was no value in this dish at all and I don’t think anyone can finish it since each wedge is like quarter of a potato. The Margherita pizza was fresh and good ($12), beet salad was good and simple, buttermilk fried chicken was decent but for an Asian like me I feel it taste like other Asian popcorn chicken u get from the Richmond night market. Overall it’s okay. If you r here for the decor, service and drinks then ????????.

Paul Hothi

Wow! Wow! Wow! One of the best dinners I’ve ever had and I’ll never forget it. Most menu items are served family style, so sharing is encouraged. My boyfriend and I enjoyed this aspect since it allowed us to have serval things and split the cost. We started off with the Roasted Brussels Sprouts - simple, yet amazing. Best brussel sprouts I’ve ever had and one of the highlights of the night. We then had the Braised Meatballs, which i just found okay, tasted like any other meatball, but my partner loved them. Then for my entree, I had the Arctic Char, which was great. I’ve never had that fish before, so I would say it’s like salmon. My boyfriend had the braised pork cheek which he says was great as well. Lastly, we had the Banoffee Cake and that was to die for. I would come back just for that alone - absolutely mouthwatering and delicious. This was all worth every pretty penny. I would love to come back to try some of the things we missed. Again, wow!

Elza Du Plessis

Hawksworth's little sister restaurant - in terms of both price and ambience. Bright, open space, and a different take on the casual fine dining restaurant concept. The food pricing is a step down from Hawksworth, but the quality is on par. Smaller food portions and more of an emphasis on sharing, this is a great spot for a bite or date, or a casual get together. If you want to go somewhere for great food without breaking the bank, and you don't want to go to any chain casual fine dining places, this is the spot to go to. Cash/Credit/Debit accepted here. Highly recommend you make reservations ahead of time.

Puneet Bains

Tried this up and coming restaurant and it was very good experience. Awesome interior, food, and staffs. I loved it.

Caroline Arbuckle

we've eaten at nightingale pre-pandemic and we've ordered a few pizzas in 2020, this was our first in-person visit since November 2019. we got a reserve and had a wonderful experience outside under the patio tent; our host for the afternoon was Gabriel and his attentive eye and service expertise made it all round and merry, from ingredient and wine selection knowledge to ambient music/volume, it was really outstanding service. 10/10. the drinks with fruit (bramble) were fresh and balanced, the white wine appropriately chilled, water constantly renewed. 9/10; we had a couple small plates and a large one: - kennebec fries super crunchy with delicious jalapeño ranch, 7/10; - refreshing kale salad with whipped feta (could have a better ratio/balance of cheese/balsamic/pistachio), 6/10; - baba ghanouj which was deliciously savory and spicy on excellent fresh housemade bread, 8/10; - anchovy toast, which stands as the best dish I've tasted in Vancouver since 2020 - simple ingredients (anchovy, red onion, burrata, mint, capers) absolutely balanced, popping such bold flavors in all areas of tongue simultaneously, 10/10; - flatiron steak, ordered medium-done delivered at 70% of that, middle was medium-rare, outstanding pungency and taste of both espresso and porcini on the butter sauce, and the wild mushrooms got a bit lost in their vinaigrette with the sauce overpowering their flavor, 7/10.

This restaurant is perfect for date nights, romantic nights, and other social gatherings. The decorations inside are very classy and the atmosphere and setting is very pleasant. I had a good experience with the food. I tried a lot of dishes there but my favourite ones were steak, and the cauliflower dish. I felt like our waiter had an attitude at first but then he got better after we talked back to him with an attitude.

Godfrey Lam

Spectacular. Chef's tasting menu for our large party was executed flawlessly. Every plate was outstanding, with great cocktails as well. Can't recommend highly enough, this place is truly special!

Lunch at the Nightingale today was great. Lots of distance between tables. Staff was great and the food was delicious. Very friendly people and they seem to have a handle of Covid protection. Looking forward to Dinner there soon.

The atmosphere was amazing. The food was very good. I really enjoyed the steak and one of the chickens. The pizza was ok It is crowded on the weekend and it gets noisy inside. The decoration is beautiful. Prices are medium to high. The portion of food is not big but it is OK if you are not so hungry. If you choose one from top of the menu and from down, you will pay around 45 to 55 dollars per person.

Valerie Ngo

I asked to hold back on the cheese for my salad, since I'm lactose and the waiter told me that they do no mods.... its 2020 but sure fine don't hold the cheese. I asked for advice as to what I should have if I do not eat dairy or meat. He instructed me to order the buttermilk chicken or the tuna... um... that is meat... Horrible service. There is a way to communicate and you must listen. Hard one star.

Olivia H

Great lunch experience, they focus on share plates, which makes for a great conversation piece.

Tanner Smith

As you would expect from a Hawksworth property, the room is beautiful, the service is very attentive and professional and of course, the food is very fresh and flavourful. The pre-dinner drinks menu is inventive and flavourful and has avoided the alcohol trend du jour. The Old Pal is like a rye-based Negroni and the spicy tequila drink was also well balanced. The star of the night was definitely the grilled pork belly, nectarine, white balsamic and pistachio. We could have enjoyed another one for sure. As mentioned by others, the raw, vegetable and small plates are very small. I had a tough time marrying up the price point to the portion. The quality was there, but comparatively the dishes are on the very high side for a more casual social/share model. Same comment on the wine offerings. Comparatively, we were at Salvio Volpe the week before, which has the same type of set up, and we ended up with a fantastic meal with a better portion to price point.

Gerard ODonnell

Food and service were superb. Even as a solo diner I received attentive care. Each course was delightful and bursting with flavor. I appreciate the thought and art that went into developing the dishes.

Denys Smushko

What more can you say about this place?! Fantastic tapas style meals. Beautiful atmosphere and excellent service. The catch...you need to book a few days in advance if you want to have lunch. It's that popular!

Allan Coo

Spectacular Team Work! I know - that's not a usual review lol. But it is true here. We brought my 80 year old parents for a special night out. The staff was excellent. And the food was great. And it all came together so comfortably... Like we were visiting great relatives in Europe: generous, authentic and gracious. Thank you team Nightingale! You make Vancouver a greater city and more importantly, you make people feel welcome here! Cheers to all of you PS - to ownership....good job. Share the result

Any roasted veggies are to die for. Also if you love pine nuts this restaurant is for you. PINE. NUTS. EVERYWHERE ✨

Absolutely delicious. Service was amazing as well. I wish I remembered our servers name. Was there at 7:30pm 09/21/2020 and we had a male server upstairs. I'm sure everyone was stellar but this guy was one of the best servers ever

Leo Grant

My new favorite Canadian restaurant. The ambiance, the service and the food all deserve 5 stars. I don't remember having been this impressed by a restaurant in a very long time. The only negative point I have is the never ending menu. I don't even think I was able to read through all of it. Makes it very hard for a client to make up his mind on what to eat. Already booked a table for my next trip to Vancouver.

Not impressed at all.. long wait for a very disappointing brunch. Our meatballs were kinda raw and the octopus was almost burnt

Nightingale offers delicious family style portions. They bring out two dishes at a time in no particular order as soon as they are ready. Expect the bill to be minimum $80 for two people - the quality of the food is worth the price. It can get quite loud inside the restaurant, but otherwise the atmosphere is great!

Hyo Kim

Amazing happy hour menu, food was high quality, although the Brussels sprouts were roasted they paired with pecans, which gave it that crunch element. Sweet baked potato and pizza were also a delight!

Lorie Rodrigues

Nice and super friendly staff, I got grilled octopus and it was the best i've ever tasted. Totally recommend this place!

Walkes up on a Sunday night around 7pm. Had to wait about 30 mins but got an i side table (wanted ac). Staff was attentive and friendly. Started with a half liter for a bc riesling which turned into 2. We had chefs recommended pizza, and fried chicken. Both were excellent and would go back just for that. We then had lamb pasta and some fried Brussel sprouts. Both were cooked perfectly but didn't knock us out of our socks like the appetizers did. Excellent place for a date, celebration, or corporate meeting. Price point is $$$. Its about a 4 min walk from Canada place and makes for a great location over all.

Maninder Heer

Great dinner experience. The staff was excellent the food was extravagantly prepared and served. I felt relaxed and taken care of. The dessert was the best part, the pistachio cake with the yuzu is what did it for me. Try everything here, its guaranteed to be prepared splendidly and the room interior is so breathtaking to behold. You can just relax watch the staff go by and enjoy your food and drinks.

MA J

Amazing food!!! While my wife and I were honeymooning we went to Nightingales for a special fancy dinner. We absolutely loved the seared tuna, and the pumpkin ravioli. The food is expensive, but it is well worth it. I would recommend ordering various plates and sharing with whomever is in your dining party. You will want to try as many dishes as possible!

Narita Ico

Another great visit to Nightingale. We visited as restaurants were starting to open back up during COVID-19 and it was a great and safe experience. The tables were all nicely spread apart and the servers were all wearing masks and keeping as much distance as possible throughout our visit. Between 2 people, we ordered the pea and ricotta tortelloni, braised pork cheek, guanciale pizza, roasted cauliflower, baked sweet potato, salted caramel pot de creme and the panna cotta. The tortelloni were extremely light but ultra decadent at the same time. We dipped our pizza crusts into the remaining pasta sauce we had which was very delicious. The cauliflower was a good sized portion with great little pops of sultana raisins. My favourite dishes were the pork cheek and baked sweet potato. The pork cheek was a very generous sized portion and was very rich and filling. Perfectly cooked pork that didnt require a knife to cut into as it was so tender. The sweet potato was an elevated loaded baked potato, just so good all around. The panna cotta was great, however, the caramel pot de creme was SO GOOD. The ultimate caramel lovers dessert being ultra creamy and super flavourful.

Raman Sandhu

Sat at chefs table 701. Wait staff was excellent. The head chef was gracious, informative, and highly appreciate and supportive of his staff. This was a great meal and an awesome experience. Next time I'll let the chef choose all my dishes.

Hannah Von

Fantastic food! Upscale dining experience ($$$) but not terrible either. The following combination for 4 was more than enough: oysters, grilled broccolini, Brussels sprouts, roasted cauliflower, mushroom pizza, roasted pork belly and duck ragu pasta. The pasta is hand made there and is so good. The duck ragu addition to it is very rich and salty so just be wary. The pizza crust was perfectly done. Didn’t try any of the dessert. Highly recommend!

Chris Wilson

It is a casual dining experience, but done very well. I would expect no less from a David Hawksworth restaurant. Dinner items were family style, and there are a variety of creative dishes. They can even accommodate dishes to my friend's allergies. Full credit for that! Reservations recommended. Other than the Nettle tagliatelle, which I wasn't too big of a fan of, everything was great. The only thing that separated from a 4* and 5* for me was that none of the items (12) we ordered as a group screamed "WOW!". Definitely will come again if my wallet can afford it. :)

Steve & Judy Reichman

Vibrant, bustling vibe with amazing family style food from Vancouver’s top chef, David Hawksworth. Great for meals with friends, family or large parties. For a more intimate night, ask to sit at the “deuce” tables that offer side by side seating facing the kitchen.

Edward Shum

Excellent Food, Great Service, Creative Menu We tried few different dishes there and every single one of them were just perfect. We found it very interesting and bold combination of flavours in their dishes. If you like to have a romantic yet exciting dinner then this is your place! We LOVED it.

Trevor Bjorklund

Cannot wait to eat here again. Had all vegan options and was completely impressed. Not a vegan but have high standards for vegan food and was not disappointed! Beet salad is unreal, pizza amazing. Highly recommend.

Safi Ali

I have never been to this place before. I just went with a few friends a few weeks ago. The food was a so good! Holy! Friendly staff... we had some great recommendations from the staff who helped us and very knowledgable as well. I think for me, I just found it a little pricy. Even though we shared 3-4 dishes between 3 people, it still ended up being a little bit on the higher side. Other than that, can’t complain.

Summer Anne

Had an amazing date night at nightingales! The staff were genuine and friendly, the setting in that heritage building was was just beautiful, and the food was spectacular. The way the chef combines flavor was so creative and perfect. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had! Thank you ????????

ARJ

Amazing food! Excellent service as well, I appreciated that our server was attentive while still be mindful of COVID-19 precautions. Fried chicken is a must have and the salted caramel pot de creme was TO DIE FOR.

Reca Guerrero

Happy hour, happy tummy! Good food, drinks and dessert! Serving was enough for sharing. Ambience was ace.

Honson Wong

Really unimpressive. We came as a group, and did the chef menu. Not that you'd normally expect a huge amount of food, but it ended up being laughable how little food was brought to the table. It ruined the experience because we had quite a few people all fighting over a small amount of food. The quality was good, but the service was atrocious. Absolutely terrible. Courses were just brought out and dumped on the table with no explanation. Our server clearly didn't want to be doing this, and it showed - and then, she disappeared for over 30 minutes while we were all waiting for our bills. I'd have expected a lot more from a restaurant that was supposed to be high quality. Certainly won't be back.

Chester Wisniewski

We had dinner at this restaurant on 26-Aug-2021. We got 4 Pizzas. My friend found Band Aids in her Pizza!!!! Unbelievable!!!! It was very gross and disgusting!!! We all felt very awful about what we ate!!!! Stay away from this garbage restaurant!!! They even have not paid for our table!! We just shocked how 4 Band AIDS can be in Pizza In Pandemic COVID time!!!! We should have took some photos and Sue Nightingale!!!!!!

Great food in a great restaurant. From the outside it appears to be nothing fancy, but once inside it's a very nice place. Sat upstairs overlooking the whole restaurant and it was a great place to people watch. Aside from the decor, the food and service were both excellent. Server was helpful with selections and the food was special. Not the cheapest of places, but you do get what you pay for and felt it was fairly priced. Highly recommended.

Fantastic food. A more casual Hawksworth restaurant. Service is impeccable, food matches with ease. Very tasty and enjoyable. Downstairs is a bit of a lounge area with anlarge fireplace and upstairs is the dining room. With large gathering table for upto 18.

Enjoyed the first visit enough we went back the next night. Beautiful food in gorgeous space. Small plates with creative combinations. Pork belly with peaches and bourbon glaze. Delicata squash with bacon vinaigrette and pumpkin seeds. Best sweet potato I have ever tasted. Very welcoming, knowledgeable and accommodating wait staff. Lots of allergy friendly and vegetarian options. Many of the cocktails on the bitter side of the palate, but the bartenders will work with you to create to your taste. Menus change regularly. Will visit again.

We got here at 8.30pm after a long day out without a reservation. The sofa seats were available The place was trendy and chic. We were not dressed for it but we still got great service and were not made to feel out of place. We had 2 kids pastas, cauliflower, broccolini, Aburi kanpachi, mushroom pizza, pork belly and salted caramel pudding. The food was all good but the cauliflower really stood out. Price was as expected for the location, decor and quality of food and service. Including a half bottle of red and a glass of beer, our bill came up just short of CAD200 for 2 adults and 2 kids. I highly recommend Nightingale.

Samara

We really enjoyed celebrating our wedding anniversary at Nightingale! The server was lovely, and the food and drinks were outstanding. Can’t wait for another excuse to go!

Tiger Yu

Great atmosphere, delicious drinks and food! Everything we ordered was amazing! Definitely makes sense to share everything as recommended by the waitress! We got the mushroom Pizza, Brussels sprouts (surprisingly soooo good), fries, risotto, butternut squash pasta, and fried chicken! Was just enough to fully fill 4 people

Definitely a great dining experience at Nightingale. Service is impeccable, food is delicious and tasteful, atmosphere is chic and elegant. The location is handy for any hotel in downtown Vancouver. This restaurant has been serving wonderful food for years but is still relevant and they have never let me down. Highly recommended.

Amazing atmosphere, best service available. I was dining with my partner and he has a dairy allergy and the waiter help immensely with the navigation of the menu. Amazing food as well

Really good food and the ambiance is super nice, cozy and trendy at the same time. You order to share and is a fantastic experience.

Adrienne Chau

Food is meant to be shared; so, you either go home full or hungry. Fortunately, we were satisfied. We had the duck hearts, spaghetti, lamb, pork belly and mushrooms. These were shared by three adults. All were happy with the food and service. The dining area is perfect for socializing.

Diana Schwabe

Such great service. Encouraged a member of my party to do a wine taster before committing to a recommendations - which she loved. All the food was great. Fried chicken a stand out, as was the penne arbiatta, lamb and the Brussel sprouts. Had so many other items - loved each one! Great place to go with a small group of people who appreciate good food and drinks!

Frank Hui

Let me start off by saying that all of the food we had here was absolutely delicious! Really well made by the chef! However there seemed to be little attention to how the food looked as it did look rather unpleasant. Another thing was that …

Su Xiao

My absolute favourite restaurant. Food, staff and experience is always outstanding. I recommend going late for lunch. Around 1:30 or 2. It’s much quieter and you can really enjoy the atmosphere.

Great lunch spot. We sat near the kitchen and got to see all the dishes come out. Very friendly staff and the food was excellent!

Great design and atmosphere. The staff were so much fun and really added to a great birthday experience! Upstairs booth seating is perfect for an intimate dinner

Nightingale was fantastic. From the warm service to the delicious food, nearly everything about it was perfect. We tried a puebla-something cocktail which sounded good on paper but was watery and boring in reality. For food, we started with the cauliflower which I found forgettable, wishing that it had been more roasted. Thankfully, the rest of the dishes were so good that it made up for a rocky start. The chorizo pizza was some of the best I've had in Canada - the crust and sauce were perfectly balanced from a flavour and texture perspective. The clam spaghetti was wonderful as well. And the arctic char, while not the prettiest, was delicious and delicate.

Delicious and unique meal & amazing service. Alexa was fantastic - great recommendations, friendly, happy and attentive. A fine dining experience in a relaxed way. One of the most "Canadian" dining experiences I've ever had.

I put this restaurant in my top 5 after coming here on a recommendation from a colleague. Every dish I ordered was melting in my mouth and delicious. The pizza and the bone marrow was probably my favourite. I have never had a more delicious and perfectly cooked bone marrow. The cocktails are a delight. Will definetly return.

Very chiq place to have dinner and love the open concept of the kitchen. I only wish the restaurant was wider which means you end up being seated very far away from the kitchen due to its length. For food, my recommendations are the classic pepperoni pizza and the duck ragu pasta with crispy sage. By far the best dishes I have ever tried anywhere - full of flavour but not overpowering.

Alroy Chan

Ate their Wed night and found the food flavours overpowering - the lemon was so strong in one dish it burn your throat. Also the inability for this restaurant to show any flexibility in removing an item from the dish was just plain pretentious. On the positive its a very nice looking restaurant and the food is acceptable- negatives, price, food quality, customer service, so loud you have to shout

Great food with good sized portions! Try the pork belly, has a dash of spice made it a wonderful dinner meal. Also the grilled octopus is a real treat. Who needs calimari... Be prepared to wait or make a reservation the day before it's very popular and busy.

Honestly, the restaurant's looks is great more so their bar wall. The staff is cold and apathetic . The food is great quality but is not out of this world food. The menu is nice but nothing shines. Presentation wise their food is just sad. No pride in what they are offering. For the price you get way better food in other restaurants in the city. To me eating in such restaurants must be an experience (for the price!) and this restaurant just doesn't deliver. Great decor, cold staff and zero presentation doesn't compensate for the food quality which is great.

Julia Chung

Today is the first time I come here. The food is fantastic. The staffs are great. They always ask how the food taste and help you choose the menu. I will come again regularly

Being unique doesn't mean it's any good. Nightingale offers a small twist on upscale dining by offering only appetizer-like plates, at entree-like prices. My experience boils down to this: average food, awful cocktails, and a massive bill.

Tamara

Its complicated to eat if you have dietary restrictions and the rest of the food it's pretty normal quality however the waiters are very kind.

This is the perfect restaurant for a date night/Special occasion. The restaurant itself is beautiful. We went for our anniversary and all the staff in the restaurant kept wishing us a happy anniversary, it was so sweet. I love the concept of sharing small plates, that way you can try more dishes. We ordered the margarita pizza, fried chicken (To die for), bone marrow and butternut squash tortellini. Everything was delicious and fairly priced for the quality. The cocktails are also great. We got the jas-mint and bramble. Everyone must try this place at least once!

It was my unplanned visit, just wanted to have dessert. I had warm chocolate fudge cake with Irish Cream filling paired with espresso gelato. Oh jeeeez ! I fell in love. It was sooo gooood !!!

If I could give it a zero I would. This is by far the most arrogant restaurant I’ve ever been too! When we arrived and were sat there was wet food all over the chair that they forgot to clean. Gross. I have travelled the world and dined at top restaurants and they were by far the worst for modifying ANY meals for my husband and I. My husband doesn’t eat pork and and I am allergic to certain foods. When we asked to modify it to meet our restrictions. The server told us the chef doesn’t modify anything and she was scared to ask him too.Since there wasn’t much we could eat and needed the slight notifications the server felt bad and went to ask the arrogant chef. She came back and told us it was a “hard no”. The chef wasn’t willing to meet ANY of our needs. I am shocked at the level of ignorance and arrogance the restaurant holds. I will ensure everyone knows about our experience and will never return. Absolutely appalled and disgusted.

Nightingale was my first dining experience in Vancouver & I absolutely love visiting this space since. I love the atmosphere, esp the tent in the summer time !

Just had a great meal at the much anticipated Hawksworth's Nightingale. Ordered the Kale Salad and the Flank Steak - both excellent, particularly the steak. Service was great although it seemed they are working out a few bugs still - the server had some glitches with the ordering system and all five of us in our party received our salads and mains at the same time which was odd and made for a crowded table - both minor things however. Overall excellent.

Adalyn L

Went here with high expectations, but was very disappointed. We ordered a pasta from kids menu, which was super amazing. We also ordered 2 pizzas, but both of them were pretty much burnt. And our finishing taste was that of burnt crust in every bite. When we told our server, he listened patiently and said he could replace it, but won't guarantee that the next one would be any better as that how it is made in the oven. Seriously needs better QUALITY CONTROL. So if you are going for pizza, I won't recommend.

My favourite restaurant in Vancouver. Always so good!!

Bassem Boss Limos

Amazing and unique tapas-style food with generous portions and good value. Every dish had enough for our party of four to have ample portions. Everyone's fave dish was the halibut ceviche. Get it!

Mila Bozinovski

Everything is so fine, we order Apple salad, grilled pork belly and my favorite dishes is Seared albacore tuna, it’s really delicious and amazed me!

Sadaf Fazel

Overall a great experience with great food, good service and nice atmosphere. Prices are high for what you get, but to be expected as it's a popular place. Didn't love how they wouldn't modify anything even for a severe allergy. They did provide a paper menu with what our guest could eat that didn't have nuts. The fried chicken is a must have and the pizzas are amazing.

W Lyons

Service was great. There was an interesting mix crowd in the restaurant. Food was good. We really enjoyed the fried chicken the most.

Renee Andrews

Such a fine, fine restaurant. My second time, seven of us this time around. Lots of little plates to share - their justly famous fried chicken, wonderful chorizo and mushroom pizzas, great kale salad, delicious baked potatoes... The list goes on and on. Relaxed informal atmosphere, beautiful space, kind and attentive staff. Great wines at decent prices (the ribera del Duero is a standout). Highly highly recommended.

As a Christmas gift for my friends I had decided to preorder and pay for their meals. Everything went down smoothly and a large thanks to Tori, Amber, and the Nightingale team as my friends mentioned how much they enjoyed their evening. Communication was prompt and smooth. My friends said everything that had been served to them was delicious and memorable (They had a mix of things ordered including the seared portobello mushrooms, grilled flatiron steak, and roasted pork belly just to name a few). My friends had always wanted to try out some of the bigger named restaurants in Vancouver and were extremely happy for the experience with Nightingale.

Perfect place for DATENIGHT! ❤️ The ambience, the staff and especially the food will make you swoon with joy! Their Morel mushroom risotto has my heart! If you are looking for a classy elegant meal, this is the place for you! Highly recommend!

Brittney Yoo

Great food and service. I try to make it here every time I'm in town for work and it rarely disappoints.

Neil Fancourt

My experienced was ruined by what felt like the staff rushing trying to get us out of there as soon as possible. The one lady asked us to move downstairs to another table. Why not just put people at that table? It's an odd thing they have small artsy dishes that everyone shares. Four of us had a $250 bill so we did spend money. They won't have to worry about us taking up space again as we won't be back to bother them.

C George

Rude rude rude! Bad experience! Such a beautiful place and unfortunately run by rude, racist and unprofessionals! When nicely asked for a drink to be brought sooner, the response from the waiter was, “ the drinks have to be made first ” The matter brought up with the manager. she tried to be nice but again too late for that. The food quality was also far below expectation.

Casey Crawford

RACIST - RUDE - DISRESPECTFUL staff. I never use the word but unfortunately it has to be said in this situation. Even though our server was changed soon after, and the manager took over, she was very nice but it was not handled in a way that it should have. Overall, me and my family had a bad experience And I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who is not WHITE. They were not even prepared with the Covid-19 situation at all. Every restaurant I go nowadays they have alcohol wipes on the table. I asked for disinfecting wipes ,the server said “ we are not allowed to give it to you”. Its funny they brought one lysol wipe for us to use the Visa machine and give them 18%Tip. Very Very CHEAP behavior. The food was also below expectation. Forgot to mention I asked the server what food do you suggest , his response was “everything is on the menu” in front of our whole family.

Marisol C

Sat at chef's table, amazing experience. The Chef was friendly and took the time to discuss how he pit together such a cohesive team. The food was amazing and the recommended wine pairings worked great. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant. Friendly hack... We split the wine pairings to not have too much and they split it for you. Great atmosphere, service, and food.

I enjoyed my time at Nightingale. It was my second visit here overall, previously being prior to covid couple of years ago. It's still feels somewhat the same. Definitely lost a bit of its luster and charm. We sat at the "chefs table" not before being showed to a small table by the window. Which wasn't bad, if we hadn't already confirmed with the Hostess about seating at the chefs table during the booking... That aside, in most common chefs table you would get more interaction from the chef or expeditor. The entire seating and ambiance just felt cold. Not even a warm greeting, or an Amuse. That aside the food was good. Portion sizes are decent. But you really need to go with several people to create a dent on the menu. Far too many choices for a couple. I would still recommend this restaurant to people to try out, because it's decent and it's something different Vancouver has to offer.

Samantha Young

Excellent food! Outstanding service! The service was very efficient, and the server was helpful. Gave us enough information about the size of portions, what it would be nice to have. fans drinks came super quick. We had the meatballs - delicious, focaccia, duck ragu pasta - the best, and the pork belly with kimchi - very nice balance. Will definitely go back there. Nice place, awesome infrastructure, good ambiance, reasonable price.

Jethro Leung

The menu is great. innovative and something for everyone. the portion sizes for the vegetable dishes are quite small for sharing. Our server was a bit odd. she kept stating how large a portion and fattening our entree choices where and suggested we share them. we are not large people true, but we are adults who do not need micromanaging from a stranger. she also knew absolutely nothing about any of the wines by the glass.

David Hoang

We went to Nightingale without a reservation and were seated at a brightly lit table right in front of the kitchen. It was really fun to watch the cooks prepare all of the dishes and see everything that came out. We ordered the fried chicken, basil pesto pizza, duck ragu cavatelli, and the hanger steak. Each dish was delicious and well portioned. The fried chicken had a great crunch and paired well with the maple syrup sauce. The pizza was amazing, with a perfect slightly charred crust from their wood fired oven. The mains were cooked to perfection. The cavatelli was a very generous portion and was rich with crispy pieces of sage and duck throughout. The steak was tender and the gorgonzola butter was to die for. The sweet and sour onions were also amazing. Would highly recommend this restaurant! Second visit: Another great visit to Nightingale.
