You must have seen that its rating is nearly the best one, and it's founded on a very high number of scores, so we can think that the assessment is quite credible. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they are happy, is that it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to give feddbacks when these are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Sushi restaurant.
Previous times I've been here I would rate 5/5 for their sushi. This last time I was here I was a bit disappointed with the service. My aunt and I were ordering the Kaiseki Aburi coursed menu but instead of trying to fit us into a proper table we were placed at the bar. This is partly out fault for not making reservations, but I thought some more initiative would be taken for full course meal diners like ourselves. Aside from that dishes were pretty good overall, with some misses. My favourite was the lobster tail and wagyu beef entree and the matcha dessert with sorbet ice cream.
We had booked a reservation for our anniversary dinner in late August for 9PM. We were well aware of the 15 minute grace period but the entrance was hard to find since Google Maps lead us to the wrong/old entrance. As we were rushing around to look for the door, we simultaneously called Miku and no one picked up. We arrived with a few minutes to spare and met three hostesses at the front where we were told about the grace period (which again we were aware of and we always respect a restaurant’s rules for a reservation). We explained that we got lost and tried calling for directions, yet none of the three picked up despite standing beside the phone when we walked in. Unsure of what happened there since we tried calling multiple times and scrambled to locate the door but there were three hostesses at the front desk? We let that slide, and thankfully got incredible service from our waiter, Lenny. He was super attentive, informative and extremely kind! He honestly made our trip to Vancouver that much better. Once he heard that we were celebrating our anniversary, he had us start off with some scallop shooters, complimentary of him! He gave us recommendations for dinner and explained each plate thoroughly, which we appreciated greatly. Everything we ordered was amazing! Overall, our favourite aspect of the night was the service from Lenny, which we would honestly come back just to visit and have him as our waiter again haha! Thank you Lenny!
Late arrive due to flight delayed, they extended my dining time for half an hour, and created fancy food for my 3rd anniversary, very cool!
Had a very nice meal here with friends. Atmosphere was pleasant and the view was good excluding the poor Raincouver weather outside. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food and drinks was excellent. I will book a another event here in the future.
This is my third time toMiko but first time back after the new location which has a fairly nice view. However I always go back for the waterfront set menu. However they have made changes to the sablefish that for me wasn't as great as before it was like eating a candy perfectly cooked. Don't get me wrong its still cooked to perfection but the taste is not the one I grew to love. The sushi for the most part is also not as impressive. But maybe the head Chef spoiled us as we had him as our chef the two times prior. I miss the old ways . Everything else was 5 Stars
Probably the best sushi I have had in Canada! Unfortunately there was no more Aburi when we ate there so we had the cheaper one and it was amazing! The other sushi were all amazing too! The salmon one melt away in your mouth!
Haven’t been here in a long time and went for a birthday dinner. Obviously because of the times we are in, we don’t dine out as much, so we were super excited to get out of the house. OMG the biggest regret of our lives was to go waste our money at Miku. Not only did we have an extremely horrible customer service experience from our waiter but later when we spoke to the manager to let him know how disappointed we were, we found out the manager was even worse. BAD MANAGER = BAD EMPLOYEES. I won’t go into detail because it’s just too much I have to write but NEVER GOING BACK HERE AGAIN. Not to mention the low quality sushi they sell for high end prices ????. Sticking to our regular spots from now on. If you’re looking for high quality sushi + a good dining experience Miku ain’t it anymore.
I had an amazing experience. The quality of the sushi was excellent and the server was very knowledgeable and personable. She provided us with great suggestions. I highly recommend it to all sushi lovers.
The view is spectacular and Food is great! This is located right beside Canada place so you can enjoy a very good sunset if you possibly dine in timely. Besides, always The Vancouver Harbour and the mountains along with you if you’re at it
Might be the best sushi in Vancouver. It is very pricey but well worth it for a special occasion. I absolutely love their sushi nothing on the menu here is bad. It sits right on the water in coal harbour making it a beautiful place to eat, I highly recommend it.
I always come here with my friends and families. Love the signature salmon oshi sushi and other dishes. Nice view and atmosphere.
The selection and the quality of the food were fantastic! We ordered a sushi platter, a duck salad and prawns. The dessert had a lot of textures and layers of flavors in a perfect harmony. They all tasted so good and the cocktails were spot on! Finally, the ambiance and the view of this place is quite special.
Modern decor and an upscale ambience with great views of Vancouver harbour are the highlights here! We had the miku roll, red wave, shrimp fritters, and pressed salmon sushi. All were very good especially the red wave. Surprisingly, the miku roll was just ok. The quality is top notch as you’d expect and I didn’t find it overly expensive (for an upscale place) but went in with high expectations for the sushi and it was definitely great for taste and quality but not amazingly better than other places. Staff were also really great.
Phenomenal meal and exceptional service! The staff was very friendly and informative. We went here for my brother's wedding meal and they made it special and memorable!
I’m not sure why it took me so long to review my favorite Japanese restaurant in town. Probably to make it easier to book a table next time I go?! ;) Miku is simply the best Japanese Restautant in North America. Go there for the food, go there for the views, go there for the (amazing) service. You will not be disappointed! Can’t wait to go there again! ❤️ Miku
The best salmon aburi roll!! So good that we ordered seconds. Great japanese dining with a beautiful view of the harbour too. The food is a bit on the pricey side and would cost about $50/pax but definitely worthwhile. Their sashimi selections are comprehensive and very fresh as well. Would definitely come back here the next time we visit Vancouver!
When visiting Miku, you can enjoy fresh and high quality fish, impressive presentation and great service. However, the kitchen is below average, so stick with sashimi and sushi to avoid disappointment. The special Sakura-inspired spring menu that we tried in our recent visit had its highs and lows. The dinner started with a cold chawanmushi that immediately split into layers; the taste was OK, but the texture was a fail. A trio of small appetizers followed: quite pleasant beef carpaccio, amazing sashimi and rather poorly cooked miso-baked black cod. The main course -- prime aburi sushi -- was simply fantastic, elegantly presented and thoughtfully assembled. To compare it with the regular menu we ordered a special Miku roll and found it miles behind the aburi sushi. We finished the dinner with a simple but pleasantly creative mochi filled with azuki bean paste, served with cherry sorbet on the bed of black sesame. We would rate the special Sakura menu alone at 4/5. However, you can't expect the same creativity from the regular menu.
We had an amazing experience at Miku this evening - very attentive service for our double birthday celebration. All our food was delicious with such attention to detail. The dessert platter was a lovely way to end our meal together with such a diverse range of flavours and visual delights.
Reservations recommended! It's pricey, but everything was delicious. The Miku roll was my favorite! Also got the dessert platter, which was shared among five people. Quality sushi and worth the price
Delicious. The aburi sushi is amazing, with the miku roll and the salmon oshi sushi being the stars of an excellent array. Make your reservations early--we tried the day before and could only get reservations for a late lunch, as it was otherwise booked. Staff was very friendly and made good recommendations, including advising about portion size.
Dinner
Of course one expects really fresh sushi in Vancouver. Miku sushi is not only fresh but well portioned and presented. With a beautiful ambiance overlooking the water it is a pleasure to dine at. To make it all complete, service was excellent. GPS was a bit hard to find but when we called they were very helpful and patient. It must happen a lot as when we walked in the lady was giving Simone else directions. The secret is that the entrance is on a pedestrian walkway and not a road. If facing the building just go left and around the side.

The food and people both were good We both ordered from Kaiseki menu but almost $400 for 2 people was verrry overpriced for what you get. And you don’t know how much it will cost till the end!!! (I know it may sound crazy but it’s what it is) Portions were mostly very small and not more than a bite and you have to wait after each course which basically seems like waiting 5 min after every bite! Our overall experience was not satisfying
Amazing quality sushi. Great sushi (nigiri, aburi and rolls) with unique flavour and tastes I had the chef's platter for rolls/nigiri and then a sashimi platter. I don't mind chef's selection in a place like this. Its guaranteed to be good. Paired nicely with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Book ahead of time. I went on Sunday night and it was packed with people waiting for a table and even for the bar. Highly recommended.
Our final dinner in Vancouver didn't disappoint. We tried an abundance of nigiri and sashimi. All the pieces were fresh and the service was great. Highly recommend the uni and A5 wagyu to end your experience if it's available.we also tried some of the torched sushi which we enjoyed but I found the pressed prawn to be a tad sweet and sour for my taste.

Save your money. I don’t understand how people can find this « a not miss » in all of vancouver. It’s a standard sushi place with exorbitant prices. This is a tourist trap on the water. Come on! There was nothing special. Nothing memorable. We were seated in a banquette that felt like we were at a Denny’s diner or a geriatric home. We had the tasting menu so really there’s nothing we didn’t try. Standard fare after standard fare.
Service is so slow it took us 2hrs to finish eating, only serving 1 sablefish instead of 2 but with the same price. Overpriced uni sashimi although fresh, average oishi sushi. I wouldn't go back.
The food, service, ambience, location, and experience was fantastic! If you are visiting Vancouver (from Toronto), then I recommend making a stop here. Can't wait to visit again!
Everything is perfect, ask for the aburi (torched nigiri sushi) set, it is the best! I had the signature selection and a dessert as well. Try different sake types. If it is your birthday as it was mine let them know! The service is top-notch as well, I forgot his name (Colombian, blond hair) but he was very attentive and was able to explain very well everything we asked. I will definitely come back!
This is based on take out as I didn’t dine in. The half empty restaurant was obviously under restrictions or short staffed and they had a two week block on reservations. I would rate the various sushi as good, not great. When I picked up the food there was a 15 minute wait after the promised time. Staff were friendly enough. I would try again if able to dine in next time.
The kaiseki menu is really good but the real star is the wagyu beef A5, simply spectacular. Best meat I have tried in my life.
Very good value for food quality. The salmon oshi was delicious but so were all the others. Glad I didn't listen to the waiter and ordered the oshi sampler instead. The sashimi quality from the platter was really good too.
The entire dining experience was something to be remembered. The best sushi so far in Vancouver. If I could give 20 star rating I would. The seating view from the patio, detailed service and creative presentation of the dishes was over the top. Miku in Toronto is very good but and overall this location is by far the best restaurant out of the two locations. Thank you to the wonderful staff who really put in so much effort to make my day a beautiful one.
Amazing sushi! Super fresh and very creative combos. We got the chefs lunch selection and it was great! The kale appetizer wasn’t great (not my choice to order :) ). But everything else was amazing. The view was amazing in the restaurant. The service was meh. They didn’t clear the plates from the first course and awkwardly were trying to balance putting the new food down while taking away the old plates.
We came here for our 10th year anniversary. We ordered the Miku set menu which we shared, and the Sablefish entree and half order Saba aburi. I liked our waitress, who surprised us with 2 glasses of campaign on the house. The food and the presentation was really nice. The Sablefish was delicious (but it kinda tasted like a Black Cod...) My only complaint was our table. When I booked for reso, I asked for a table with a nice view (meaning the harbour). Yes, we got a window seat, but it only faced the street. I really wanted our 10th year anniversary dinner to be extra special, but oh well. Maybe next time I'll be even MORE specific, if/when we come back.
The views are great here and it's definitely a high end restaurant but I thought the sushi was subpar. I like my sushi to be on the simpler end and I felt these were trying to do too much. The miso soup was great though
Miku is a must when you come to Vancouver! I did the Kaiseki with Sake pairings and would highly recommend this to anyone dining here. The set menu is curated by the chef and gives you a taste of everything they have to offer. The food is fresh, creative, refined and extremely delicious!! I love not having to worry about ordering and just being able to enjoy the experience. The service and atmosphere are impeccable, I would highly recommend to all!
Best possible sushi you can get in Vancouver. Cocktails are really good too. Expensive but worth it. Make sure to get the Salmon Oshi
Impeccable customer experience, taste and presentation of all 3 dishes. High end sushi of Vancouver, highly recommended if you’re in for a treat.
You can't go wrong with the food here. Also, the day manager (darker skin, baldish chubby guy) is a gem of a person and very skilled at his trade. He's been there for years if I'm not mistaken, I feel comfortable when I see the man running the ship.
While sitting at a bar, a local told me about this place after I admitted to her that I've have never had sushi. Foolishly, I thought sushi was strictly raw fish. Since this was my first time in Vancouver, and having been told that this is the best city to come for sushi, it was now or never. And I am glad I went because this was delicious. And you can see the cooking staff making the sushi. My only criticism of this place is that it has risen my standards for how I think sushi should taste. Now everything won't be as good to me lol.
Came here for lunch and the aburi here is no joke. Had the premium select which gives a sampler of the whole aburi selection. It was exceptionally flavourful, everything worked together with each piece being different in taste compared to the other. Also had 2 pieces of nigiri (albacore belly and scallop) and both were fresh and the belly was really tasty as well. Sat at the bar and service was excellent throughout. Also had a negroni and a glass of hibiki (much cheaper than another I visited!), both were great.
We went to Miku for a Japanese experience in Vancouver. Very cozy and upscale restaurant, but extremely overrated. The food looks amazing but the taste is not at the same level.
Service
Get the premium! Or just three (half-3/full-6) orders of the pressed sushi. I loved the salmon, mackeral and ebbi, but I think most people really liked the salmon and ebbi more. Came with miso soup and we ordered the miku roll.. good but i would just order more pressed sushi next time.
We went for our anniversary and had the kaiseki. Easily the best sushi place I've ever been to. The atmosphere is wonderful, drinks are great, everything is delicious. I cannot say enough good things about this place. If you want quality sushi and seafood, this is one of the places you must visit in Vancouver. Among the many menu items, get the seared Hokkaido scallop. My god, this was one of the most scrumptious scallops I've ever had. The only way they could make it better is if they gave me more. The presentation and serving of each dish is meticulous as well. There are some high end dining experiences that leaving you wondering if the heavy price tag was worth, this is not one of those places. They will receive many return visits from me.
I went to Miku for my birthday with my boyfriend and it was truly amazing experience. The best sushi in Vancouver :) definitely worth the price!!!
Took my bf here for his birthday and we both enjoyed our lunch. Very good service and good view. We ordered Oshi sushi sampler, Garden Select, and Sashimi Lunch and we were stuffed after. I loved the Green Tea Opera, it was delicious.
Amazing experience. Enjoyed every single dish that was brought out
Valentine’s Menu is good and worth.
I love dining at Miku, they have top notch aburi sushi and I really like the ambience! Even during quarantine they are offering take out. This aburi platter for 3 was good for 2 hungry people. Also, the price is very well worth it for the quality and quantity you get at Miku.
By Far, this is Canada's Best Sushi! From how the rice is prepared, quality of the fresh water fish, attention to detail and bursts of smokey, savoury, and selective spicy flavours, MIKU will leave you amazed at the Japanese art of cusine as it was meant to be experienced.
Miku deserves 5-star rating on its food, services and location. One of the best in Vancouver! Excellent views of the Canada Place. Love the fresh wasabi.

They have absolutely amazing food. I loved trying all of the flavours in their Japanese style cuisine. The atmosphere of the restaurant matches the food. The service was hospitable.
Excellent food, great view. Must book.

I have been lots of seafood and Sushi restaurant in the world. I am a seafood/Sushi mania and eating seafood almost everyday. I am running a restaruant too. This Miku is the worst restaurant in my life. I ordered several menu and they served me 5 pieces of Dime size oyster($ 27) and 8 peice of Sushi($40) not fresh. This place was so noisy and several servers kept disturbing our conversaion asking "Do you need water ?" even I asked "Please don't disuturb". It was so hard to conversate with my business contractor. As a restaurant owner I always keep in my mind Restaurant = Quality(taste), Quantity, Sanitization, Server service, Reasonable Price.
You can almost never go wrong with Miku. Fresh fish, amazing chefs, and a beautiful location = a great meal. Don't get me wrong, this is not a cheap sushi joint. If you expect to get a deal on a couple of rolls, you're going to have a bad time. But come with your expectations in check and you will have an amazing experience.
The Miku roll and the chicken nanban are a must! Seating by the window is also a plus as the waterfront view is quite relaxing.
Did the tasting menu which was mostly great, though the sushi course was a bit of a let down. The beef rib and starter selection were the best things I tried. Drinks and service were excellent and the ambience was ideal

We did take out three times this week while visiting Vancouver because it was so good!! Their aburi oshi sushi was amazing we couldn't get enough of it. It's not cheap but worth it for the quality of the food!!
If you're craving excellent Japanese food with creative and elegantly-plated dishes, very friendly attentive service, and bonus impressive panoramas of Canada Place and the North Shore mountains, you'll love Miku. Special honours go to their desserts which were not just appetizing, but were also works of art as you can see from the attached pics. One cautionary note. You pay for the privilege of eating at this very fine establishment, which shouldn't be too shocking given its DT waterfront location, upscale ambiance, and extremely well-prepared food. We ordered: Ebi Fritters (a favourite) Brussels Sprout Chips Oshi Aburi Sampler (6pc) Miku Roll (8pc) Red Wave Roll (8pc) Yuzu Mango Cheesecake 2 Scoops of White Peach, and Coconut & Passion Fruit Sorbet (another favourite) We drank no alcohol and the bill with a good tip came to approx. $135. They also have a Set Menu option with 4, 5 or 6 courses including special dishes not typically found on the regular menu. We didn't opt for that, but the table next to us did and their dishes looked mouth-watering. If you're hungry for sushi and seeking the best bang for the buck then Miku is not your best option. BUT, if you're a quality-over-quantity gourmet who appreciates fresh, well-prepared, visually-appealing food served in a fine dining environment, then you will definitely leave Miku with a smile on your face, and in your tummy.
Service
Nice atmosphere. Great view of the harbor. Great sushi and very good cocktails. A bit on the pricey side. Overall it was a great experience.
Delicious maki and sushi, great service and the view is amazing! One of the best restaurant in Vancouver.
An amazing experience, highly recommend. I love Japanese cuisine, but often go for fast and cheap. I wanted to celebrate and brought my partner to Miku. It was an amazing fine dining experience. Our server Lynn was amazing, we informed her that my partner was vegan and she was very attentive. The food was amazing, although not cheap the attention to detail, flavor and overall quality is unbeatable. The best Japanese experience in Vancouver

I heard so many good things about this place and my expectations were quite high, but they managed to impress me. :) Great location, impeccable service, and absolutely fantastic Oshi sushi. Try lunch Shokai with a small dessert for $45. I guarantee you will not regret! I really want to go back there for dinner next time!
This is the best sushi in Vancouver, hands down. Everything is delicious. Specifically, the nigiri will astonish. Get the yellowfin tuna and the scallop. Perfection.
Service
surprisingly not too expensive for aburi. the opera cake was also a very nice finish to our lunch
Great place at a beautiful spot on the shore. Awesome balcony/patio with delicious appetizers and mains and exceptional service. Very professional servers with high knowledge of Japanese cuisine, very gentle and presentable. Couldn’t remember the name of the server, but I’m sure all of them are great. Nice experience. That’s the cheesecake I remembered to capture - delicious.
I get asked what’s my favourite restaurant all the time and the answer I give them is Miku. Their aburi oshi is a must try. Salmon and Saba. The only way I can describe it is heaven in my mouth. As a tip, be sure the really savour everything about your meal cause it’s really expensive. But sometimes you just have to treat yourself.
A favourite of mine in Vancouver, and easily the best sushi in town. The exceptional food is matched with a knowledgeable staff that show the obvious passion they hold for food. If you're a sushi fan, don't bother going elsewhere. Miku should be your first and only stop.
Amazing sushi! Loved their salmon oshi sushi and miku roll. Salmon oshi is a must try.

Service
Went for a birthday dinner, the ambience was nice, the service was incredible but the sushi wasn’t the best I’ve ever had which was disappointing given the price. It’s an experience but it felt a bit overrated.
Excellent Japanese cuisine with a great view. This is a must place to dine in when you visit Vancouver. The foods are pricey but you will have great experience.
The food here is very very good. We always come here once in awhile when we crave for their prime rib. It is very tasty and juicy. We ordered the AAA Sterling Silver Prime Rib, Salmon Oshi Sushi, and Miku Signature Selection. All are very good. I also like their dessert. The price is reasonable for the amount of portion because this is a bit of more toward the higher end restaurant.
I would highly recommend going to Miku's for sushi. It's one of the best sushi restaurants I have been to. The food was amazing and everyone loved their food that night. I also loved the server we had that night. Because some of our friends were not familiar with the different kinds of sushi, our server took the time to explain everything on the menu. It made the night more enjoyable as everyone knew what was on the menu. Overall the food and service was great. It's a must place to go to for sushi.
Ordered the premium lunch special, and the lunch shokai. Very filling, although I found the fish was a bit thin. Would recommend reserving a table if you want a view of the water, the walk in tables are by the front entrance, and the patio isn't always open.
Quality ingredients that really shine as sashimi and nigiri. The aburi is great but some are quite heavy from all the sauce on top. Overall quite good experience.
This super fancy place is a must in Vancouver if you are a sushi lover, their proposal isn’t as wide as the typical sushi restaurants one, but it’s quite wide and it range from typical sushi rolls to their typical aburi, including many other types of entrees and appetizer. The portion are relatively small, so, if you always have a big appetite as I do, be prepared to spend at least 60 to 70$ per person; on the other side, the chefs and the waiters are fast and well organized, so you are most likely not going to wait a lot.The sushi is good, well-cooked, fresh and well presented, and the location is stunning Don’t miss any of the desserts, they are simply amazing!!!!
Good view, good service. The sushi was fresh but I felt like it could have better varieties for the relatively higher price point. I would come again for lunch if Im in the area.
We had great expectations and they were met! The freshest fish was melting in the mouth, the combination of flavors was a delight and the service topped it all off. We had ebi fritters, aburi sushi platters, surf&turf and green tea opera. All delicious!!! Only hiccup: Tv screen in bar area showing sports...
I would highly recommend the ebi fritter, the cover is crunchy, yummy and not oily at all.As for the rest(tart, traditional sushi lunch and green tea opera) they are good but not as satisfying as I expected, especially when you are in the top 1st Japanese restaurant recommended in whole Vancouver. Overall the food was great, service was nice and still a top togo restaurant in Vancouver . But kinda of overrated

Wow this is one of those restaurant that deserve 5 stars all the way, the food, the service, the location, the view they got it all and all of them are exceptional, its definitely the Best Sushi placre in Vancouver
Went here for lunch. Good food and good service. Not exceptional. ( don't get me wrong, it's good. Just not exceptional) plus, it's a nice view, can't complain. Still recommended to come here. If you want a cheaper alternative for torched sushi. Green leaf is a good alternative. However, it's definitely a different dine in experience here. Plus more varieties here
I did the Miku Kaiseki and apart from the sushi courses, everything was good. Presentation was great and the flavors were actually fantastic. I liked the Shinshu Akamiso-Cured Brome Lake Duck Breast. Now, for a Japanese restaurant, I would have expected better sushi. The Nigiri omakase part of the kaiseki was a disaster. First, there were bones in my fish! Second, the foie gras nigiri was literally falling apart as I was picking it up. Any sushi chef would be embarrassed to serve what I got. However, I can't fault the service. The manager came immediately and apologized. Their fish is pretty fresh and I especially loved the uni. So much so that I even ordered more uni nigiri on the side. I thought since they had such fresh Uni from Japan, they would have Umibudo as well. Too bad they didn't :( Dessert was okay, nothing to write home about. Overall, it was a nice experience and for the price, it was fine.
The pioneers of aburi oshi sushi. They never disappoint! You pay a premium, but the money does indeed go into your experience! Come to impress your guests!

Definitely one of the best date night spots. The view is spectacular, the food is great and our server Eva was awesome! She was very friendly and she took such a nice photo of me and my husband. ????

5 stars only because they don't allow 7. The oshi sushi is a revelation, cocktails are creative and delicious. Not over-the-top expensive, either. Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff.
I've been coming back to this place for their excellent quality of foods, professional customer service, clean place and a very welcoming environment. They deserved to have the highest ratings.

I was quite excited to dine here. It was held at a high esteem in Toronto (and I've heard the Vancouver branch was better). We wanted to try everything and so the server suggested the Miku Signature Selection which featured some traditional & specialty rolls, as well as Aburi Oshi and nigiri. The best ones, hands down, were the aburi ! We also tried the sake and umeshu samples and my favorite was the Darjeeling umeshu - it was sweet and taste of the Darjeeling tea was prominently intriguing. Overall a nice sampler experience. Just sad I was seated and there was this huge pillar that was blocking my view of the pier.
Everything was good here but definitely try the Aburi Oshi sushi. These are their signature seared rectangular sushi rolls. We tried the salmon and mackerel and were impressed with both. We also got a few drinks and they were all great as well! Wasn't super expensive considering how nice the place was! Definitely recommend!
Fantastic cuisine, great location, excellent atmosphere. And good service, server asked if we wanted move inside because it was cold on the outdoor tables.

My coworker highly recommended this place and I decided to to my wife here for her b day. I was so pleased that they managed to secure me a seat looking out to the Harbour. Not only is the view spectacular the food was amazing. Our favorite was the calamari, their signature salmon aburi (tried all 3), miku roll and uni sushi. The uni was so creamy just like tge resturant by the fish market in Japan. The service was also very good, everyone had a nice smile on their face and were very attentive. This place is constantly busy and I recommend making an advance reservation. We will definitely come back again. Keep up the good work!
Excellent food, presentation and customer service. We have not actually eaten in the restaurant but if their takeout quality is anything to go by then dinning in will truly be an experience. Will definitely keep ordering out.
Very good COVID measures. Would be better if they made it a standard to offer disposable chopsticks instead of plastic ones—either that or invest in metal chopsticks for better cleaning. But it’s okay because they will provide disposable chopsticks on request. Also, need to request for paper napkins. I also like how their open kitchen allows you to see that the kitchen staff are also fully masked unlike some other restaurants that either only wear a spit guard (Yuwa kitchen staff) with some even not worn properly to catch anything—or nothing at all (like Bluewater hot food kitchen side even as they are taking a breather lined up chatting there, while sushi side kitchen are responsibly fully masked. 4* only because there were a swarm of flying things between my table and their patio opening.
Absolutely delicious Japanese food. All ingredients are top notch and fresh. Been here several times and it never fails me.
Came here on two separate occasions over the past couple weeks. I called ahead to have the aburi tier picked up 30 minutes earlier, which the girl on the phone said she'll make a note to try. When I got to the restaurant to pick up, the girl who met me at the door could not find any note about trying to have the order completed earlier, but managed to put in a "rush order" and it was ready to go within 10 minutes. Super thankful for her help with that! The ebi aburi is pretty salty, so I would recommend getting only 1 roll or the mixed set of 6. I had shared 2 ebi rolls with one other person and we had a hard time to finish it. Should've gone with 3 salmon 1 ebi ????
Delicious premium sushi & sashimi, beautifully presented. Try the signature pressed salmon aburi & Miku roll. Great service from very attentive servers.
This is not the same restaurant I remember from a couple of years ago. That meal was excellent and I was looking forward to a return. Miso soup was delicious but then it went downhill. Our first course, which was supposed to be hot, came completely cold. Like they forgot to heat it. I told the waitress that I did not want any raw sushi that I was there only for the torched sushi/rolls. Half the items on my plate arrived raw and when I addressed it she said they were lightly torched. Which they weren’t. The pieces I ate lacked flavour and were lacklustre. When I complained to her she said that she was sorry to hear that in a snooty tone. I asked for the manager. He seemed apologetic and made it seem like he was comping my meal which was $41 for a lunch menu. When the bill arrived he gave me 10% off and comped the edamame (with which there was nothing wrong). I found this highly insulting. A restaurant of this stature should do better. The mighty fall all the time when they don’t pay attention to details. Recommend not to come here.
Super solid sushi, more fusion than traditional. They do a rectangular roll which was neat. Staff and the ambiance was great.
This place had the very best sushi I've ever had, anywhere. Prepare to part with a wad of cash and leave floating on air. I ordered the chef's choice sushi plate and was very satisfied. And the desserts...the Green Tea Opera was amazing. Don't hesitate...go!
Me and my wife came from out of town, and everyone one told us to come here. It did not disappoint, beautiful views and great quality sushi
We went here for dinner to try the aburi set since it was newly released. The whole experience was great however the food was just OK in my honest opinion. To sum it up, the service is much better than the meal itself. The nigiri is truly instagram worthy but lacked in true authentic sushi experience. The rice was cold by the time was ate it and anything with cold rice can only be so good... I would think twice before visiting again.
Oh Miku...where do I even start? I could die and be very happy eating your sushi as my last meal. Although the ambience and service is good, the sushi is really why you come here, especially for the Oshi Sushi (pressed sushi). The flavours are amazing and everything is so beautifully crafted. It’s a work of art. We tried the tasting menu for $50 for lunch. It is expensive here, and the portions are not huge, but you are really paying for quality. Would recommend trying even just once if the price is deterring you. And you can choose different menu options that can make the bill more reasonable.
This place is definitely on the pricier side, so don’t be surprised at the menu! This place is also very busy so it’s better to get a reservation to ensure a spot but they also take walk-ins. This restaurant is located along the water so you get a nice view if you’re on the patio area or along the windows. They don’t have an extensive menu, but still very good options. Definitely try their aburi sushi if you haven’t! It’s their speciality and it’s very good! I also love their service. It’s almost the same type of service you get at a buffet restaurant where they are on top of clearing your plates, replenishing your water, and providing new clean plates if yours gets a bit too dirty. Definitely a great date spot or somewhere to celebrate an event.
Went for their omakase, really worth the high price. The food is tasty and the service is top notch.
A beauty in Vancouver. They have these unique amazing sushi options that are just delicious. Also their own soy sauce! The service is great, and fast when you think how busy they are! The staff gave me great suggestions!

Really enjoyed our lunch visit here. If you are serious about some good sushi, the Chef Select does not disappoint. Everything was so good and on par with some of our favorite places in Manhattan. Only minor criticism is that the rice could be a bit warmer, but that may only be because it's not served omakase style at the sushi counter. The green tea opera was also amazing and wish we had room to try their other desserts. The service was very warm and attentive even though we were at the bar. The price was a huge steal. We would've paid double for the quality. Would definitely revisit when we're back in town!
Best sushi in Vancouver. Melts in your mouth. Great oysters. I love the oishi pressed salmon sushi and would recommend that everyone must try it when dinning.
Best sushi in Vancouver! I'd heard a lot about Miku and had high expectations going in, and it still managed to exceed them. The Salmon Oshi is a must try. The flavour and texture were incredible, and the pieces melt in your mouth. The fish was fresh, and recipes unique. Servers were very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Overall amazing experience!
I had an excellent lunch experience at Miku. Eating here makes you realize that you've never really had good sushi until you've eaten here. We ordered the calamari and edamame as appetizers, I had the Garden Select as my lunch entree, and the Green Tea Opera for dessert. All fantastic options. I was very happy with the edamame. My colleagues at my table were saying that it was some of the best calamari that they had ever tried. When the entree arrived I was very impressed, the stylish plating gives a great initial impression and also the variety of sushi was nice for a vegetarian order. The taste and quality was excellent throughout the whole meal. I will certainly order it again when I can. Then dessert came, and that was fantastic. I ordered the Green Tea Opera not knowing what to expect, but I was thoroughly impressed when it arrived. Very artistic plating and excellent flavour combos. Small enough to eat alone but rich enough to share with others. As a side note, the service was fine as well. Attentive servers and quick chefs. My overall impression: 5/5. Will definitely be returning for more meals in the future.
Sister restaurant to Minami in Yaletown, these restaurants have near identical menus. The Aburi sushi and Zen plates are great tasting. Service is always exceptional at this location. They have two major views, one of the harbor and one of the hotel district. The seating near the hotel district is comfier but the vote is better for the harbor. They have a variety of cocktails, specialty drinks and wine. The ambience at this location speaks to fine dining. There is no real parking availability except for expensive lots nearby (5 to 8 per hour). They are directly on a transit line, near waterfront station and a quick walk from the downtown core however.
Wonderful exceptional service. Great consist quality food.
Really amazing food and service! We were recommended to come eat here by our friends as we had 1 night to enjoy Vancouver after our cruise to Alaska and it was a great choice. We ordered the 5 course meal and the flavor and presentation of all their dishes was really breathtaking. They even catered to our littles and made them something they enjoyed as well.
Overall, great experience. I don't think you can find sushi better anywhere else in Vancouver. Miku Zen and the Premium Sushi selection are my go-to choices. You won't be disappointed.
This is going to be one of my favorites in Vancouver. Fantastic tasting sushi with great presentation. Oshi sushi, especially the salmon is always worth trying. Sushi platter during the evening will also allow you to try most of them if you aren't sure. Would also recommend the Aburi Chirashi Tart (Lunch Menu) as well. Worthwhile place to come back and try various other dishes. Fair warning will set your wallet back.
Came here for a farewell lunch for a coworker. With reservations we were all seated and served with drinks promptly with very good service banter. We all ordered their lunch bento, known as the Miku Zen Box. The dishes were all very nicely prepared and tasted fabulous. Knowing it was a farewell luncheon, the server gifted us a couple of desserts for the group to share, a very nice touch. Known to be a high end establishment, Miku definitely di not disappoint in any way. Looking forward to coming again!
If you like traditional sushi like I do, this is just a Ok place, all credits goes to it's location, view and atmosphere, but not the food. Sushi rice was way too sweet, and not sour enough. The way nigiri was made is not authentic Japanese way.
Insanely imaginative and creative sushi that doesn't taste weird. Everything I tasted complimented eachother with fresh vibrant flavours. The signature salmon oshi is mind blowing a must try. A high end experience, alittle more on the pricey side of things. However well worth the ticket price.
The food was really good and the sushi practically melts in your mouth. The waiters were very very professional and nice. The only reason I can’t give this a full five starts is because there was a huge bird poop on our window and there was a wasp and a couple flies flying around. I understand you can’t clean the window everyday or you can’t catch them but it was a little annoying having to swat flies while eating or seeing poop intruding our window view. Thank you for everything else though!
Lives up to its name! We had the chef's lunch tasting menu and it was amazing. Comes with a miso soup and salad with shrimp that are good but nothing to write home about...the sushi is the main event and it is worth it. Extremely fresh seafood and expertly prepared. Expensive obviously but you get what you pay for.
Nice view and location but felt the restaurant was quite over rated. Most of the flavour came from mayonnaise sauces and really washed out any nuance from the fish. Would be more interesting if the sushi rice had better acidity and Kombu flavour. In terms of service, it was friendly but we were treated like tourists. In the future this would not be a place I would visit for a top sushi expirience, but it does have a great view.
TLDR: This place is amazing. Everything about it was great. The ambiance, the service, the food, you name it. Ordering off the menu can be a very intimidating experience, but our server did a great job explaining every little nuance about it and even gave us some of his personal recommendations. Our server even came up to us and asked us to see if my girlfriend's drink needed to be topped off with more citrus foam! (The cocktail she ordered had a delicious foam that kept dissolving). He did a great job in making sure were well taken care of. At the end of our meal, he knew we were visiting from out of town and have us more personal recommendations on where we should go eat. (I wish I remembered his name! We would go back just because of the experience he gave us!) To sum it up, the service and staff are A1 in my book. For the food, we had a set menu tasting off their Sakura festival menu. Nigiri was fresh and the other food included was great. Would recommend this place to people who want to have a nice dinner in Vancouver. Btw the price is definitely three dollar signs. We came here for a special occasion and it was worth it.

Everything was just perfect. ????
First time at this location as they used to be in front of the Fairmont Pacific Rim. I liked the other location’s decor better as I find the decor in this location lacks of creativity. The food is beyond excellent, quality and presentation wise. Absolutely amazing and delicious. The menu is for everyone from vegetarian to fish lovers. This place goes way beyond sushi..it’s offering is diverse and creative. The service is excellent. I have an allergy and our waiter made sure that what I ordered was safe...and I mean..he did actually went beyond my expectations for my last health. We will be back again and again...just make sure to do a reservation as the place is always busy.
Good customer service. Excellent food. Has waterfront view for some tables. Reservation recommended.
Beautiful restaurant with an amazing view. The seafood was really fresh and delicious, I had no complaints about the food at all. The service is what really stands out. Our server, Lynn is the best. She was so sweet and gave us lots of recommendations on other restaurants in the area to try after as we were just visiting Vancouver and helped us with menu item recommendations. I would definitely come back next time I'm in town.
Did take out, so cant talk about the in person experience (the resto is very big, kinda gives the wrong impression for a sushi place as most great sushi places are small). The quality and value of the different sushis/sashimis and rolls are unbeatable. You cannot miss here. (Take out anyhow). The fish is melt in your mouth.
Service
Beautiful ambiance with amazing views from downtown. The service is professional and respectful. The sake flight has a great array of different sake to try! I love the presentation elegant and colourful. The rolls and oshi are perfectly made, the detail to ingredients and flavours are just perfect. Personal favourites were the mackerel and salmon oshi. The sashimi and nigiri are very fresh and pair excellently with the 2 types of soy sauce. For dessert I really enjoyed the pear ginger sorbet, small and satisfying. Delicious and fun dinner, loved my experience here!
Amazing View , great lunch meun . The cakes are all amazing . It's super busy during lunch make sure you call and reserve the water view seats.
Excellent sushi and non-sushi options but on the pricier side. Delicious specialty torched sushi with a nice creamy/smoky glaze. Delicious cocktails. 5/5 for the food and the view and a 4 for the value. Solid option right by the convention center if you're willing splurge

Very good service and view is incredible. Sushi is excellent and the seaspan margarita is great.
If you are looking for fusion style sushi in vancouver, this is definitely your go to place. A bit pricey and may not become your sushi go to place on the run, but definitely an experience worth trying atleast once if you're on the West Coast. The service is great and love the way the whole restaurant staff greets you when you enter! Ordered both the traditional and fusion style sushi for variety along with two appetisers; the prawns and beef. Oh and don't forget the misu soup; absolutely heavenly especially on a cold wet day!
High end sushi place with a super clean and modern dining area overlooking the Vancouver harbour. Known for their Aburi sushi, this is a must try place when in downtown Vancouver. The direct entrance is up a flight up stairs. If coming with a stroller, the elevators are through the lobby or what appears to be an office building. We arrived on a Monday for lunch and the place was already super busy. Definitely make reservations in order to be seated right away. For lunch, we ordered two Lunch Shokai, an Ebi Oshi Sushi, and a Salmon Oshi Sushi for our party of 5. The Lunch Shokai was a perfect way to sample all their different sushi but can be pretty pricey at over $35. Out of the two Aburi Oshi sushi, we ended up preferring the ebi (shrimp) as it tasted less heavy than the sauce on the salmon. Both were still very good though!
Unfortunately, extremely unprofessional management. We went to their Vancouver branch, to celebrate an occasion (we had reservation!). We were told there are no empty tables available in the area where it has a good view. We then asked the staff member to check again, and she came back saying no empty seats and the people who were sitting there had just sat at the table and it will take a while before we were able to sit there. This obviously ruined the whole experience and killed kinda the fun time we hoped to have there! The manager on the floor brought a complimentary food which we could not eat (raw fish), therefore, we had to send it back. They sent a complimentary food to the table before asking if there are any allergies, or any kind of information. We had a birthday celebration, and staff knew about this, they did not even bother to replace the complimentary raw fish with a cake! I then emailed Miku General manager, Malcolm who was extremely unprofessional. He basically said, we are sorry, and that was all about it. And when I complained about the service and staff, he said, if you believe this is the case, you could simply not come to our restaurant again. I then asked to have a conversation with his boss, Hide. This person I do not believe reads emails, or they simply ignored several emails that I have sent. The food is not bad, however, when a customer receives such treatment, it just ruins the whole entire experience and one simply does not feel like going back there ever again. Extremely unsatisfactory from the poor management for a restaurant that claims to have high quality and service along with customer service! ????????????????
Honestly this Miku is wayyyy better than Toronto’s. The fish here are more fresh, for obvious reasons and they have a nice view! We ordered the waterfront set and absolutely loved it! All the dishes came out tasty and we loved the service here. The staff were all friendly and took the time to explain each dish!
Fine Dining Japanese restaurant with very unique tasty creations! If you are into sushi it is a fantastic please to eat. They also have an extended Sake list to please everyone. Now they are an expensive place, and expect 30-60m wait time . It does worth it!
Good is delicious but not quite authentic Japanese food. Selections of umeshu are great.
My son and his GF are in Vancouver for a week. They went to Miku for lunch. They texted me the photos of the food they ordered (Premium sushi plate and fried chicken). They asked me to write the reviews for them. Sushi was 9 stars (out of 10) and fried chicken was 11 stars out of 10.
I am blown away by the attentive service and delicious food served here. Loved the presentation of each dish followed by a description of each piece. Despite it being very busy (highly recommend you book in advance as I waited in addition to my reservation), the waitress never make you feel any need to rush. Everything was reasonably price for the amazing quality and gosh the waterfront view. Miku is known for their aburi (box pressed sushi) so if you are feeling a bit lost, you cannot go wrong with the salmon and mackerel aburi (my favourite so far). I am honestly shocked they did not charge more, they have superior service and presentation to much more expensive omkase places I have been to.
Pretty good! Great food. Needs extra 2% to be spectacular.
Me and my husband were in Vancouver from out of province. We were looking for something a little different to try that offered seafood. We both typically enjoy Japanese dishes and thought we would try Miku. When we reserved all that was available was their holiday Kaiseki. I was hesitant at first but boy am I glad we went with it. The food was delicious - it was melt in your mouth good. I truly wanted to savor every bite. The presentation and service was second to none. The servers were friendly, attentive and I enjoyed the explanation of the various dishes being brought to the table. Our primary server Kana (I apologize for probable misspelling) was amazing. She was pleasant, personable, attentive and very friendly. My favorites in the lineup were definitely the sablefish and the Nigri omakese. I would highly recommend this experience at holidays or otherwise. Great job Miku and thank you again Kana!

There’s a reason why Miku is priced at a higher level. Fish quality is amazing, atmosphere is nice, washrooms are squeaky clean. I recommend the Salmon Oshi! ????
Come here for the great view, vibes and services. However, I’m kind of disappointed on their sushi. We came here for lunch. Like other reviewers said, you should book a table in advance. The restaurant overall design is very modern. It doesn’t look anything like a Japanese restaurant. They have big open bar in the middle. There is an open kitchen that you can see all the great chefs working hard for your food and the kitchen looks very clean too. Many tables are next to glass wall facing Canada Place and Vancouver Harbour. It is a million dollar view. I will never get tired looking out. As I said, come for the view and vibes. They have great services too. Our server knows the menu very well and come check on us often. As i said, come for the great services. With great vibes and services, my expectation on their food is very high. We have ordered Brussels Sprout and Chicken Nanban to share. I also have Lunch Shokai for main. Both appetizers are great to share. The Brussels sprout is crispy and spicy. The Chicken Nanban is fried chicken with tartar sauce. They are good comfort food to start before main. The Lunch Shokai has 2 appetizers, miso soup and 10 pieces of sushi. The 2 appetizers are baked fish with brown rice and 2 fired tigger prawns. They are very tasty. However, their sushi are not as good as I thought. They are well made but a bit too sweet on most of them. The sweetness is not coming from the fish and it over powering the taste of the fish. It doesn’t taste like traditional sushi. Maybe this new style of sushi is more welcome for people who want to try sushi for the first time but not a big fan of fish. It might be a big step jump for people who used to enjoy more of fresh fish flavor. I give 4 stars instead of 5 because I can’t find the umami flavor form their sushi. I’ll come back for sure. Next time maybe I should try their sashimi instead.
Had a lunch yesterday, I ordered some nigiris, rolls and tarts. The price was pretty much high. The waiter recommend me for otoro sashimi which wasn't disappointing. All of the fish was fresh. Even though the price isn't for daily, I definitely recommend this place to have a try and come back for special occasions.
as good as advertised, the ebi oshi sushi is the best roll i've tried in my life. and the green tea opera desert also might be the best desert i've had in my life.
Take out
Excellent service and food! I've been here multiple times and the aburi is one of the best in the city. I generally get the Lunch Shokai and find it's the right amount of food If you're looking for a great atmosphere and Japanese cuisine, look no further!
Cocktail was top notch, very balanced in terms of alcohol and taste. Sashimi platter was excellent except for he tuna that was a bit fishy. Their aburi sushi Isa must try. Service was a bit slow and our waitress was often MIA.
I took my bf here for his birthday and ordered the ebi fritters and the waterfront kaiseki and sashimi platters for two. Totally enough for two. (Fyi, we had two pints of beer too) Service was really attentive really quick. Also, a greeting from everyone was making us feel welcomed ???????? thank you! Food was amazing & very unique!! (Tbh Sablefish was a bit salty for me) MOST OF ALL, THE GREEN OPERA dessert was super tasty. My bf and I were SO impressed by the dessert! That was the best tbh. Thank you for the service and food today! Was really awesome :)) + also plates and bowls are so pretty ☺️
Miku offers a great variety of aburi oshi and the Miku Roll is one of a kind. I cannot get over how delicious their Green Tea Opera Cake is, and it is a "must order" every time I visit. I love the presentation and attention to detail when it comes to the plating. I have also tried their "Aburi at Home" service and the sushi came very neatly packaged. With all that said, the price is a bit on the higher end and you can find comparable aburi oshi for cheaper at other Japanese restaurants.
Fantastic tasting & visually stunning sushi. Staff were very helpful and friendly. This restaurant also has a great view overlooking the ocean.
It started out as a regular day. I showered, left my house, and arrived at the sushi restaurant. It’s where I go regularly to eat sushi because it’s close to my house and the service is usually good. The place was busy enough that I had to wait for about thirty minutes for a seat, which wasn’t ideal but isn't unusual either.
Extraordinary product, very helpful and attentive staff. Just one thing: We spent some serious bucks for superb and beautifully presented, FRESH dishes, and when we ask for a bit more Wasabi, you surprised us with that $3.50 charge on our bill for the teaspoon of green paste?!? That's ridiculous, and really left an unpleasant aftertaste in our mouth regarding the entire dining experience. That's just greedy and unnecessary.
What can I say, the awesome water front view, the stylistic interior decor, the excellent service along with detailed explanation of the menu items and the care demonstrated by the server by providing a blanket for sitting out in the patio in an unusually chilly summer noon, are all foreplay for the absolutely mouth-watering-just-thinking-about-it aburi oshi sushi choices. The sake sampler added the kink, and the meticulously crafted dessert made for a very very happy ending in a culinary orgasm.

A really awesome sushi place with a lot of vegetarian options for my wife. The service is second to none and our server, Juan, gave us great recommendations. A beautiful view of Vancouver Harbor and some of the freshest fish I've had. Definitely a must hit on your bucket list while in Vancouver.
A wonderful experience that I highly recommend especially for those visiting Vancouver. We did the 5 course meal ($98) and every meal was exquisite. The service was also amazing, we had a gentlemen helping us, Zed. Overall great night.
Service
Great service and amazing food with stunning views. Miku is the first restaurant to introduce aburi sushi to Canada. Be sure to try their salmon oshi, it's the best we've ever tried. If you're looking for authentic Japanese cuisine in the city, this is the place.
My boyfriend and I came here and tried the food... wow, so delicious and service is great! Cant wait to come back to this place! Their sushi (especially their aburi) is super delicious, a bit pricey but definitely worth it. Thanks for the great service and food!
This is one of the best restaurants in Vancouver. They truly are masters at what they do. The aburi is sublime and delivers every single time. If you have the time and the means, sit in for dinner and enjoy their wonderful tasting menu. You will not regret it and there is no better place.

Beautiful restaurant right by the water. The atmosphere is upscale, with very tasteful decor. The staff were great, very professional and gave great suggestions. The food was beautiful and tasted fantastic!
Everything is great at Miku!!! I never had a bad experience at Miku. It's always fresh and delicious. The desserts are nicely decorated and extremely tasty. Must go spot in Vancouver!! It's more pricey but definitely work every single penny of it.
I had a great experience at this restaurant. The server was very friendly, and explained everything on the menu for us as it was our first time here. We decided to get Salmon Oshi Sushi, Saba Oshi Sushi, otoro, and ikura sushi. The fish tasted fresh and delicious. Oshi sushi is recommended to be eaten without soy sauce as they have their special sauce. For dessert, we had the Green Tea Opera cake. The matcha ice cream was a perfect match with the 7 layer cake that is filled with different chocolate and matcha filling. The only thing I didn't really like was the washroom. The stalls were really dark to see anything... Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would come back again! :)
My wife and I visited Miku together, it was my second time enjoying the restaurant. Everything from service, taste, presentation, and atmosphere was a step above the rest. We shared both Kaiseki menus which allowed us to taste a large variety of food. Every dish was outstanding, with a variety of flavour depths, with no ingredient unnecessarily added to the dishes. I would highly recommend for any occasion - and we will be back!
Awesome restaurant experience! Nice view, great vibe, excellent food, and amazing staff. The cold sake also helped. We ended up ordering more than we could eat even after unbuttoning our pants, but we were given a cute to-go container and bag. 100% recommend.
I love going to Miku every time I visit Vancouver. I usually order their premium sushi lunch. Food and service quality are always great.
First, I HATE giving places 1-2 stars. But I can't bring myself to go higher. For the price point, I definitely wouldn't go back nor recommend it (and that's with the current USD conversion rate). They have a special Miku Sauce that tastes like they torched Mayo on top of Sushi. We are from Minnesota and have had fresher better prepared sushi in a land locked state and we LOVE sushi. They pushed the Miku rolls so we got it and the miku sauce (mayo) just ruined the fresh fish. The Aburi (their specialty) tasted like greasy rice with raw fish and mayo torched over the top. Yuck. When you have beautiful raw fish, why would you EVER put mayo on it!? Just don't understand the draw. The ONLY two things that was good were the service and the Miyazaki #2. There was nothing else that would ever make me recommend or go back for. Highly disappointing.
The best smoked sushi in town. This is my comfort food. The service are great though on our recent dine in, our server talked very fast and not looking to us while talking. So i need to ask him to repeat several times. The food are delicious and fresh so i still gave 5 star. I will keep on coming back.

What an experience. Awesome nigiri and aburi oshi (seared and pressed sushi). Definitely recommend to try Nutrigreens Farm Tofu Salad, Salmon Oshi Sushi, Ebi Oshi Sushi and nigiri /sashimi.
Food and service were excellent and fast! Quite pricey for the servings. But worth it!
Went to miku for lunch and Vincent was our server. He was great! Was very accommodating to my allergy and made us feel feel very welcomed. The food was amazing. Everything was super fresh and did not disappoint.
Amazing quality food, excellent service, and great ambiance. This is one of the best sushi restaurants in Vancouver. I highly recommend this place!

Phenomenal place to enjoy premium Japanese cuisine with a bit of fusion going on yet quite authentic and fresh at the same time. Always a great spot for a special occasion, service and quality is top notch, and so is the view and location.
This restaurant has by far one of the nicest views, which is why they are a bit more pricy compared to regular sushi restaurants. I have gone to this restaurant several times and I always order the same 3 rolls. Salmon oshi, Ebi oshi and the Miku Roll.
My dining experience at Miku was simply amazing! The ambiance, the service and the food were all excellent. The seafood was so fresh that it melted in my mouth. Every dish was seasoned perfectly. Each piece of sushi looked like a work of art. Even the dessert was scrumptious and beautiful. I highly recommend this place and would definitely go back.
Wonderful service, relaxed but attentive. The food was glorious as always. Highly recommend the new Chef Selection. We shared with other courses, though that left a certain amount of FOMO. Wondering about the ones you didn’t get to try. Though, seeing as there’s never a bad dish, you’ll be ok. Can’t wait for next visit.
Great food. Service is good but can be unattentive because it is so busy. The views are some of the best in Vancouver as long as you get the side that faces the water.
Service
I was invited to try out their seasonal menu. I gotta say miku has the best aburi sushi I've ever tried. I've been to japan a few times but never had such delicious sushi! Quite pricey to be honest ( though i didnt need to pay) but totally worth a try! Was there for lunch on a weekday. The restaurant was packed and tables were back to back. I found it absolutely hard to talk unless u book their private dining room.
The aburi course felt a little overpriced so if I went again I’d probably opt for other stuff. Acoustics at the restaurant was terrible and talking was a little difficult but this is a pretty common symptom in North American restaurants. Apart from that, good food, would definitely go again. Sushi was my favorite part - I really enjoy these non-traditional takes in Japanese food.
Some of the best sushi. The presentation and customer service was fantastic. I'd very much recommend trying out their tasting menu
Easily the best sushi I ever had! Great restaurant with amazing Vancouver Waterfront views!
WOW. If you're looking to experience luxe eating experience and AMAZING food? This is it. The service was also very accommodating whithout being suffocating. The food was mouthwatering with a price tag to match.
5 stars is not enough. Food was so delicious. Went twice for lunch and eventhough fully booked, the hostess got me a table. Can't wait to try the location in Toronto. Highly recommend Miku to any visitors to Vancouver

Best sushi place in Vancouver hands down. Celebrated my birthday there and they gave me and my guests the best service.
We opted for the tasting menu and every single item was delicious and beautifully plated. The service was very attentive and the pacing of the dishes was perfect. We were luckily seated by the window so we even saw a seal on the harbour while eating. My favourite dishes were the wagyu, the otoro and the lobster nigiris. It’s a nice little splurge for a special occasion.
Did take out for our anniversary celebration. We ordered one Miku Signature Bento and it was absolutely delicious!! Though it serves 1 person, the portion was big enough for 2 people if you wanna have comfortable lunch. What I loved the most is the dessert we ordered, must have!!!
I usually don’t leave such low rating to places i love but my last experience at Miku definitely needs to be called out. We went there for a birthday of a friend, 6 people on a Friday evening, the place was full as it is every night. I knew what to expect as i have been to miku in the past, very expensive prices but top level quality of food and drinks and this time wasn’t different, the pressed sushi was as exceptional as always and the drinks and desserts where amazing and worth every penny. So why am I giving only 2 stars on this review? As I understand that there are some serious staffing issues currently, especially in the service industry, I would be letting my experience slide in a less high class restaurant but for a place like miku to take 45 minutes to get the first drink to the table is just absolutely un acceptable, they also forgot to serve some of our dishes and generally took long to get any amount of food to the table, service was just generally un professional. I would say again that for most other places in town I would let this slide but Miku as the high class restaurant that it is dose not have this privilege and the overall un professional service did hurt the experience and took away from the high quality of the food.
Price: $$ Ambiance: **** Taste: ***** Value: **** Fantastic sushi! The ambiance is lively and the service was excellent. Come here for the aburi sushi. Each order comes with 6 pieces. They allow for half orders so you can sample all 3 of their selections. Tea selection includes Jasmine or green tea.

Best sushi I’ve ever had. Love making a yearly drive up from Seattle specifically for this sushi. Staff is always SO awesome. They take extra precaution for my gluten and dairy allergies. Great gluten free options - you won’t be disappointed. Definitely get the Oshi sushi - it’s their specialty and SO good. The experience is always top notch and I have 0 complaints.
Don’t like take outs, great food, but for our rolls set $60+ they refused to give us any bag and gave us 1 chopsticks and 1 soy sauce. We had to go back home with half of the train car staring at our food.
Short rib is really good. Nice view. The best time to come here is 4-7pm . Enjoy the sunset. Good food. Good time.
I LOVED my experience here at Miku!! We've been dying to try this place and I'm so glad we finally did. It was so good we came back the week after again. The set meals are amazing and we also ordered off the menu. Both experiences are top notch. Highly recommend checking this place out!
A great dining experience every visit! Love their food and atmosphere. Miku Roll, Ebi Fritters and Chicken Nanban are few of my favourites, but my absolute favourites would be their sushi dishes. There are many places that offer Aburi sushi now, but Miku’s original Aburi sushi cannot be beat!

Organised a sushi date night with my sister. Made a reservation online with no fuss. I arrived early but was nicely sat at our table. Our server was incredible. Extremely careful with dietary restrictions and explaining items on the menu. We each had the omakase sashimi platter which was delightful - we both thought the scallop was outstanding. I also had the Ebi Fritters and the Aburi Oshio Sampler of salmon, ebi, and saba. The ebi was my favourite of the sampler with the salmon coming in at a close second. The house green tea is also worth getting if you like tea.
Top notch service and excellent high quality food. It is also quite costly so be prepared but know your money will be well spent. I wasn’t sure I would enjoy it but I’d love to return again soon. Update: went back a second time and still love it. Service is excellent, location has a nice view, clean and bright. And the food is delicious for even the person who hates sushi (I brought my mom and she hates sushi and loved it). Drinks were delicious and didn’t eat one thing I didn’t like. This is a fine dining sushi experience and bill reflects that (but still worth it).
Their plate presentation is exceptional and food is delicious!
Very nice place. To put it quickly, it is a very fancy/luxurious restaurant. The food is wonderful there but it comes with a price. Overall I’m rating a 5 star as the food and the experience was wonderful. They were very respectful and polite. I also told them I had a birthday today and they gave me a cake desert with happy birthday written in chocolate. They would clean the table after each meal and refill the water often which created a enhanced experience. Overall, 5 star
So delicious! Got the speciality sushi platter and matcha dessert and could not have left happier. Service was super friendly as well!
3.5 stars, IMO, given their prices. The food was nice and beautifully served, yet they have no description of what’s in the dishes whatsoever. We used an online menu and they have zero pictures. You can’t even tell what kind of fish is used. The servants can help, of course. They also didn’t have learner sticks and could make a set for kids either. The dessert was just sugar+matcha in a couple of different forms, nothing sophisticated.
Not to be missed ! Absolutely love this place ! Great views across the harbour if you get a window seat . Perfect modern twist on traditional Japanese dishes, while still keeping it authentic .Would recommend the chef's tasting menu. Fresh & extremely tasty. Very friendly & attentive staff.
Went here for the first during my wife and I'd 2nd year anniversary since we've heard a lot of good things about it. Those good things were correct! The food was impeccable! Their aburi sushi are probably the best ones I've tasted so far in Vancouver. The service was also excellent! Charlotte, our server, was knowledgeable, helpful and informative specially for first time goers. Her alone made the entire experience enjoyable considering the menu can get overwhelming. The atmosphere is great. It was quiet despite having a full house which was interesting. They also have a large selection of alcoholic drinks to choose from. This is a place that is expensive but if you are celebrating something then is one of the places to go to.
I must say I expected more... however, maybe my expectations were unrealistic. But then, when a restaurant is labeled as the best Japanese culinary experience in Vancouver, one expects the best!
Ate here twice in the last month, Vincent was my server both times, and he was just perfect in everyway. Delicious food, and super friendly service, teas was always filled, and never had any dirty dishes on the table. After two meals, I feel Vincent and I are friends! I can't wait to go back!

Had a great time and enjoyed the food immensely. Our server Lin was super knowledgeable and attentive. She made great recommendations. From our drinks, mains, and including dessert - the meal was thoroughly enjoyed. She also recommended other places for great food.
Probably the best food I have eaten. I have now been there 2 times and the quality has been exceptional both times. The staff are very friendly. The Ebi Fritters may been the single greatest food I have ever eaten.
I would like to start by saying that this was some of the best food I have had. The quality of each dish was beyond expectations. I had many dishes such as the ebi oshi sushi (pressed prawn with ume sauce on top and finished with lime zest), the Aburi appetizer platter with seared hamachi-wrapped grapefruit, red tuna-wrapped micro greens, and salmon-wrapped lotus root. Other dishes included Kyoto baked sablefish with pickled zucchini, yam chips, and prawn dumplings, Wagyu beef nigiri, red tuna nigiri, and eggplant nigiri. Dessert was the green tea opera. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in innovative Japanese Cuisine.

We went to Miku for a late lunch at 1:45pm last Saturday. Our friends recommended getting a reservation beforehand. We were seated immediately and even at 1:45pm the restaurant was at full capacity with people waiting for tables as well. We both ordered the Chef’s Select lunch set - which came with miso soup and a starter salad, 12 sushi pieces (rolls and nigiri), and we also added an opera cake to share at the end. We also each ordered a sake tasting flight to pair with the food. Everything was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed each of the 12 sushi pieces. I think the price is extremely well worth the quality and quantity of food. Some of my favorite pieces were the miku roll (orange one in the top row), and the hamachi and ebi (both in the second from top row). The hamachi melted in your mouth - similar to what I’ve had at Sushi Kashiba in Seattle (which is at a significantly higher price point). I have absolutely nothing to complain about this place and I can’t wait to come back the next time I’m in Vancouver. 10/10 would recommend.
Lunch
As a vegetarian, it was pretty mediocre. You're paying for the scenery, service, and presentation; but the garden roll pretty much tasted like commodity sushi with garnish. It's possible to get great vegetarian sushi, but this was uninspired and nothing short of extremely bland.
Fantastic Miku roll and Exquisite Miso soup! Everything on the lunch special platter was scrumptious. Great view, decor and service.
Dinner
Their dine out menu was delicious and the view was incredible! Our server was super friendly and accommodating. Definitely worth a visit!
Great place if you love high quality sushi. Everything tastes fresh, presentation is superb, and service is friendly and professional. The wait for your order is minimal. Ambiance is excellent with the outdoor patio. Indoors is spatiaous with a medium noise level. Overall a must try for sushi lovers.
A very pleasing dining experience! The decor is amazing and the view is quite spectacular. Very spacious inside with a strong team of friendly and helpful staff. Definitely more high class dining, but still good for a casual outing. Food and drinks are pricey, but the taste is well worth it. The Brussel sprouts were surprisingly my favourite dish, but the carpaccio and sushi rolls are stellar as well. Everything is clean and well maintained. Right beside Waterfront station, and there’s nearby parking in the underground corporate parking areas and on the streets (street parking is generally cheaper). Highly recommended for that special night out!

All I have to say is that I went to this restaurant while I was sick but had to attend as it was for a work dinner. Every bite was extremely difficult to swallow but the food was so amazingly delicious I couldn't help but force it down. I did not regret any of it and it was worth every second thay i struggled swallowing the food. I had the sushi plate. Every sushi on that plate was out of this world. Every one of them were different and were new experiences in my mouth, different textures. One was sour, 1 was creamy, salty, sweet... The price for the sushi plate was $38 for 10 pieces of sushi ans it was worth every single penny of it. Hands down best sushi I ever had. The service was also amazing. Waiter was very knowledgeable. Never had to ask him for anything as he took care of everything. Overall experience was fabulous!! Will recommend this place to everyone and definitely go back
The best sushi I've tasted! You don't get a lot of quantity for the money but the quality is why. The beef app was also tasty!
BEST Japanese restaurant in Vancouver. I have been visiting Miku for around 4 years now, never disappoints. I absolutely love the Salmon Oshi Sushi, and the sashimi is superb. Miku also has a spectacular waterfront view, definitely one of the must visit places in Vancouver. The only minor inconvenience I can think of is that Miku almost always require a reservation at least 1 week ahead, or else it might be hard to get a seat.
The service is good and the food is good too especially the Miku Roll and Aburi but some roll is a little too salty and the sashimi is too thin.
Always a great place to check out if you want gourmet sushi. Amazing 180 views and spectacular service. Everything on the menu is worth trying! However, you must try their signature green tea opera cake as it tastes just like a giant Ferrero Rocher except green tea flavoured. Their oysters were quite small but it didn't affect me enough to give them a lower rating. I would definitely go back
I went here for the first time for my Mom's Birthday. My mother and sister have been here before. Needless to say, my experience was not pleasant. Complaints are as follows: - Mom's medium rare steak was cold - Food Runners didn't even put plates in front of my mom properly to "center" the plate - Food Runners tried to serve us multiple times but turned around and i can't for the life of me understand why. I am guessing it is because they either forgot something for the dish or forgot who had a medium rare steak or rare steak but that is purely speculative - Second dish was a Beef Carpaccio with a sous vide egg. It was actually a lot of work to eat this dish with chopsticks, which was all we were given It was my mother's birthday. We could have gone anywhere to eat and we chose Miku. This was my first time here and it was quite disappointing. We're all limited with our time, where we choose to spend that time is valuable and it matters, especially when restaurants have been fighting for business during this Pandemic. I can't justifiably recommend Miku to any of my friends and family.

When Miku first opened it was sooo good and the service was amazing. Fast forward to now and the food is still good but the service is just okay. I usually order the oshi sushi rolls (boxed sushi). The salmon and Saba are my fav! The sashimi is good quality. I usually order their desserts as well. They’re delicious and pretty!!

Ive heard about this place from many people and recently had the pleasure of eating there and what an experience this was. Possibly the best sushi/Japanese restaurant ive been to. Ther food was incredibly fresh well prepped and well presented. The beef was amazing, the drinks were delicious and service was incredible. Highly recommended
A friend recommended to check out this place in Vancouver. Wow! The sushi was delicious, dessert was just out of this world, the views were amazing and the service was just top notch. If you’re a local or a tourist, I encourage you to try this place ????
Nice view, that's the only thing nice about this place. Hugely disappointed in the quality and flavors offered. The 5 course was a poormans attempt at fine dining. Though presentation was nice it did not deliver on taste. As the courses came out I expected less and less. Two of the courses the steak and dessert were surprisingly good; the steak and dessert but if you're looking for a sushi experience this was waste of money.
A wonderful experience overall. I'll start with saying that their signature dessert (green tea opera cake) is absolutely SUBLIME. My wife and I usually share one portion of dessert and we find it well enough; I would order two of these and have one for myself without question. Top 1-2 dessert I've ever had from a restaurant. Their signature sushi's proteins are cooked (torched), and have this melt in your mouth quality to them -likely based in butter or something beforehand. It's wonderful for the first few bites, but can get rich/heavy when consuming them repeatedly. The harbour platter was alright. The more traditional nigiris have wasabi, so if you don't like it, make sure to say so when ordering. Very nice vantage point onto Canada Place and cruise ships.
One of my favourite, go to lunch places in Vancouver. Modern interior with a nice view over the harbour and Canada place. Seating is available in booths, at tables or at the bar or sushi bar on a good day seating is also available outside. They make great Bento boxes and sushi platters. There is a well stocked bar with a variety of (high end) liquors and make wonderful cocktails. If you have a sweet tooth you should definitely have a look at their desert menu with a nice variety of good looking and tasting options.
Great food. Tiny portion and great service. Had lunch with six people there and spent $400. You are really paying for the army of waiters there now than anything else. The green tea lemonade was way too sour.
Had a very poor experience at Miku the first time my partner and I had visisted, from service to food. We spoke to the manager, Shouta, about this, who handled the situation graciously. He offered a quick and effective resolution which we deeply appreciated. My partner loves the salmon oshi sushi which I thought was good but not markedly better than some of the spots we have in Calgary. The surf and turf roll was interesting and the ebi fritters were very well done. Would definitely try Miku again when we are in Vancouver.
The best sushi by far I have ever had. Aburi style sushi is hard to come by in Ontario and I'm looking forward to visit Miku's Toronto location just to experience this again until I can get back to Vancouver! The Vancouver location has warm and helpful service and an even better view of the waterfront.
Cheap price for this incredible quality. The special items (left on the middle of the plate) were not my favourites because I found the taste of salmon not enough strong. The rice is very good (perfect temperature and appropriate stickiness), the assaisonnement add a lot of taste without being to strong and the fish really tasty and tender.
It was nice, the ambience was nice, the staff was attentive and helpful. The food was good, we went with the aburi course, it was an excellent Western take on sushi. I will definitely return to try their regular sushi course as well. Remember not to walk into Miku with the idea of authentic Japanese sushi though, it is a Western take and that it was it is meant to be.
Delicious food, especially the ebi mayo prawns and salmon oshi. The restaurant is also very beautiful. If you can request a table by the window overlooking the ocean and cruise ships, I would recommend it. A perfect lunch spot!
Some of the best sushi I've ever had. Salmon Aburi Oshi Sushi is a must have, we had multiple plates, but the other Aburi Sushi is just as amazing. All other items we had on the menu were fantastic, but the Aburi Oshi was a true standout. Highly recommend everyone try this place. Service and atmosphere were great in a wonderful location. Try to reserve an outdoor table if you can to have a view of the ocean.
This place offers easily the best sushi I ever had, and I'm still searching to find a better place (if exists) since we visited some time ago. Service and atmosphere is amazing as well!
2021.11 I ordered the kaiseki set with wine pairing. Really expensive, but worth it. 7 course. With 6 different two oz sake. Appetizer, sushi, sashimi, soup, A5 sushi, duck breast, dessert. Dessert is the worst, other are outstanding. sashimi is just above average. Sushi and soup is the best. Duck breast with sake is a perfect match. Mini size but will full your stomach. Abt 15 min each in between. Take your time. Not sure why, I just can't put a five. May. Be the presentation. Too much.
Most beautiful and delicious sushi experience I have ever enjoyed. Artfully crafted and beautifully presented.
it's a wonderful family reunion for Christmas Eve 2021. Great view and super luxurious food, thanks to sweet daughter for the hospitality
First off YUM! Secondly, what a lovely atmosphere. Servers are lovely, and really know what they are serving. Everything is delicious. Will be visiting again soon!
The Aburi Kaiseki menu is amazing and perfect for a special occasion. The staff is attentive, the location is excellent and the food is incredibly pleasing to all the senses. Highly recommended!

No matter the day or season, the service, food, and atmosphere are consistent. Friendly folks, great great food, and beautiful views. I love it. This is one of those places where wild and farmed fish coexist in harmony. Wild salmon and farmed Gindara sablefish.

Amazing salmon oshi sushi and miso soup. Try sitting at the sushi bar to catch a glimpse of their bustling kitchen. Fantastic service, great atmosphere, and expensive prices, but totally worth going back there.
We ordered 2 combos of 37 sushis at 70$ a piece, we were all extremely disappointed with the quality: each sushi only had a thin slice of fish, a mushy fish mix on the inside and a ton of mayo! Everything was bland and tasted the same. You will find much better food at Raku Japanese Kitchen
The food: 5/5, the service: 1/5. We went there for our 6 year anniversary and we still had to wait for our table even though we had reservations, that was to start. Our waiter claimed to have just come back from Australia and it didn’t seem that he had any interest in being there, or serving us. He seemed very disengaged, the conversation between us and he was more about compliance (going over the menu) than service. The worst part of our experience was when we had our Dragon Roll with a piece of hair in it which neither belonged to my wife or I. He took the plate to the back, came back a few mins later and said he’d bring out another order. No empathy, no manager follow up, no courtesy especially considering a fine dining restaurant! If you like Japanese food and sushi, the chef has a great menu, if you want to be treated well with a unique overall experience, I might say it may be a crapshoot. UPDATE: After having an opportunity to correspond with the General Manager at Miku about our experience, she made every effort to resolve the issue. We were invited back and rest assured, they made up for our previous experience. We had an excellent time on the second visit and we were happy to have given them the chance. Thank you to the staff and management at Miku for making it right! P.S The Green Tea Opera is a must!
One of the best Japanese restaurants in Vancouver. Sushi in art form. The presentation is amazing, the flavour is unforgettable and the service is impeccable. If you know what to order, you will enjoy your experience here. I’ve been here several times and the delivery and experience has been consistent. Each sushi type has its own character and when you bite into it, an explosion of flavours set off in your mouth. The ambiance is awesome being at the waterfront hub of Vancouver only meters away from the Sky train station. I can’t comment on the price as I’ve never paid for any of the times I’ve been a guest and parking is plentiful if you travel with a car as there are a lot of parking lots in this area of town. A great place to take an out-of-town guest or a place to enjoy Japanese food as a local.
Got the omakase sushiwith a bunch of other side orders of their daily special sushi was fresh and environment was nice and clean service was greata little bit on the pricey side but well worth it would recommend everyone try this place at least once would come back again and recommend to others.

The best sushi I’ve ever had. The aburi of course was amazing and even the simple tuna was great as it was so fresh and light!
Excellent service and food. We got a selection of sushi to try the range which were all great with fresh seafood and friend soba. Don’t forget to save room for dessert. The prices aren’t cheap but definitely worth it for what you are getting.
Excellent quality and well thought out Japanese fare with some great rolls, sushi, and sashimi.
Ambience and view are great. Service is amazing. But the crispy Brussel sprouts were too spicy and caused some stomach issues later

Amazing! Had a birthday dinner here and they truly made the experience worth it. Make a reservation and if you don’t and just walk in, make sure to grab drinks as you wait. The sushi was phenomenal and the waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We shared all of our dishes and every item we ordered was amazing! Plus the dessert that they made for my birthday looked beautiful and tasted even better
Prolly one of THE most delicious sushi restaurant we have ever been! Sushi Kashiba in Seattle still trumps but this one is up there! The Aburi sushi (square shape, flamed on top) was AMAZING. Extremely flavorful & smooth. The rice are super well made too... Not sure how they do it but man... What a wonderful meal! We are going back again during this short time we are here!
This place has arguable the best sushi in Vancouver, however, it's definitely reflected in the price. I would come here for a special occasion or if you feel like splurging a bit. I would recommend lunch over dinner because I feel it's more worth it, where you can get full for around $30. Overall, no complaints and would recommend it to people who looking for quality eats, over cheap eats. Service was great and food was amazing (in taste and presentation); you pay for what you get. Oh yeah and you might want to consider making recommendations as it gets pretty busy during peak hours.
Best sushi I've ever had. The torched and pressed sushi was phenomenal as was the appetizers. Don't order of the menu, just tell the server what your tastes are and let them do the rest.
Great place to go if you aren’t Japanese or don’t care about authenticity. I know this restaurant is considered more upscale but it feels overhyped and overpriced for what you get. However, the plum wine was really good and the waitress we had was amazing.
Miku, you ruined my life. Now I can't eat any other Sushi ???? This place is unbelievable, the taste is out of this world. Been there twice, same experience every time. Can't wait to go to Vancouver again
Amazing experience to go with friends or family! If you’re willing to try new things, the set menus (Kaiseki menus) are a must try, at least once! My friends and I had tried it with sake pairings as well, which were really well paired with the food! My favourite dish was the sablefish - it was the best fish dish I had ever eaten.
everyone kept mentioning this specific restaurant and raving about it so I had to visit!!! came for lunch so didn’t order a lot but from what I did eat, I really enjoyed it. From the oshi sampler my favourite is the ebi oshi pieces - I would get that one alone next time! The miso soup was really delicious as well
The sushi was excellent and the wait staff were very friendly and engaged. The only real complaint I had was the three ladies in the front hosting. We arrived a little early (15 minutes) before our reservation and we were treated with indifference and impatience. First impressions are very important.
Absolutely loved this place! Great service, great food and a beautiful view! Highly recommend the albacore tuna with miso or the red dragon i believe it was w.
Had a chef’s special meal. My server was extraordinarily awesome and the view was super nice. Everything was perfect except it took too long to get the next food.
I received a gift card for Miku Restaurant for Christmas and took the opportunity to go last tonight. Dinner was wonderful at Miku Waterfront, located next to Canada Place. Service was professional, food was prompt and the flavours were SO amazing I struggled to find words to describe it. The complex fusion of flavours made each dish uniquely exciting with delicious taste profiles that defy description. It was like seeing an action-packed movie, but in my mouth ???? In the end, I forgot to bring the gift card-Oops, I guess l'll just have to go again ☺️❤️
Incredible service, your water glass is never empty for long!! Make a reservation as soon as possible as they are extremely busy. The Aburi Oshi Sushi is delicious and the flavours are nicely balanced with no need for soy sauce or wasabi. We thoroughly enjoyed the Aburi prime omakase and it was truely the perfect bite. The sashimi was fresh and nicely presented.
It was our first time in Vancouver as we were celebrating our 3rd year wedding anniversary and we also just came back from Cartier boutique and wanted to celebrate even more with some amazing food. Miku did not disappoint. I wish I remembered the name of our server as he was amazing, gave us some amazing recommendations and explained the menu well. We went during lunch and the prices are slightly cheaper than their dinner menu. Everything was fresh, tasty and very well presented. We have been to Japan and this was just as good! 10/10!
The restaurant has a beautiful view of the cruise terminal, and the high ceilings create a very relaxing atmosphere. The waiters are very friendly and very helpful. They are very knowledgeable about the dishes served here and they are great. I highly recommend their signature salmon sushi. It is basically a type of pressed sushi with red salmon, which they grill on top with special seasoned soy sauce. I also like their Aburi Chirashi Tart, which is made of sushi rice and various sashimi (raw fish), avocado, special Miku sauce and more sashimi. The only disappointment is their Nutrifarm farm tofu salad, because I don’t like shredded miso tofu
A unique sushi experience. The premium lunch was delicious. Great atmosphere and service. Everyone was friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. Not your average sushi restaurant. Definitely worth a visit!
AMAZING sushi and cool vibe. Known for their salmon oshi sushi which is a must order.
Highly recommend! Excellent service with high quality food and presentation, for sure the price is high up too. If you have any special occasion to celebrate, is well worth it.

Always amazing food and service! Highly recommend the Kaiseki menus especially if it’s your first time here. Definitely our favourite place to go for special occasions. Note: Great COVID policies. All the servers/employees wearing masks. Utensils and napkins are provided on a plate. Digital and paper menus available.
Great quality shashimi, sushi and desert. The steak was prepared well but I'd probably pass next time. Pro tip: ask for fresh wasabi and sweet soy sauce!

Quick Summary Had a fantastic birthday lunch here with a great view. Great atmosphere, service, and fresh seafood. Reservations are a must now due to pandemic dining. The Coal Harbour Platter was the most memorable dish on the lunch menu Food- 5 stars Coal Harbour Platter- this was my favorite and most memorable dish on the menu. The seafood was so fresh and it's a fantastic value. Highly recommend Premium sushi- this was good, but I thought the Coal Harbour platter was much better. The sushi was good, but the sashimi was what was best here, and I would recommend to order more sashimi dishes Lunch shokai- this was basically the premium sushi lunch with 2 appetizers. Our 2 appetizers came with the ebi fritters and sablefish. I thought the appetizers were much better than the sushi plate Service- 5 stars Our server was fantastic. Excellent service throughout and loved her recommendations and honesty Bottom Line Had a wonderful birthday lunch with the great views, atmosphere, and food at Miku. I would recommend their appetizers and Coal Harbour platter for lunch. I know the premium sushi is popular, but I would steer toward more raw foods and appetizers

Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here, as part of Dine Out! They were pretty booked for dinner service, so we opted for their lunch menu which only varies with different appetizer options. I was a bit upset to miss out on the dinner, because I wanted the fresh sashimi, BUT this lunch did NOT disappoint! It started with miso soup, which was a bonus. This was pretty standard. Then we shared both appetizers of the Aburi Albacore Tuna Salad and the Steamed BC Mussels. The salad was light and fresh, with the tuna topped with a lovely bright ponzu jelly. I was most surprised about the mussels in terms of the quantity (there were prawns too!) and the amazing flavour of the maitake mushrooms. I just wish they provided more focaccia, as there was so much creamy garlic dashi broth leftover to soak up the bread with! If you want light, go salad. If you want filling, go mussels! The Aburi Sushi Selection consisted of 10 pieces. My least favourite was the garden roll, because this was entirely made of veggies! It was creative and impressive, but not my jam. Everything else was on point in terms of freshness and flavour impact. The dessert was a Coconut Lime Leaf mousse, and the flavours complimented beautifully. The dessert was also very generous in terms of quantity. This was all for $45, and it's the first time Miku has participated in Dine Out. As extras, I ordered an Little Emperor as a non-alcoholic drink, with blueberry, basil, yuzu, and gingerale. The presentation was beautiful and it was very bright and refreshing. We also tried the green tea opera cake which was lovely and rich. I was relieved to learn that Miku is a PoC owned business, as some restaurants serving PoCs are white-owned. Follow me on Instagram @vinaeatsandtreats for more honest restaurant and baking recipe reviews!
Great sushi, possibly the best I’ve had
Unfortunately, due to Covid, if your group is larger than 4, they have very few available tables. Make sure to plan ahead if you don't want to wait long. Furthermore, the table we were given is in a separate room and the atmosphere is not as good as in the main hall. All the food was tasty, but not outstanding. We strongly recommend the soba noodle entree and the unagi nigiri. We ordered other rolls and the aburi oishi salmon, which were just okay. We tried the matcha desert, it was tasty. The service was very good and welcoming.
Great place to spend an anniversary without breaking the bank. We followed the waitresses recommendations and we were completely satisfied. Missing in this photo is the salmon rolls (cant remember the exact name) but it was so good we ordered two servings. I'd love visit again next time I'm in Vancouver.
The cuisine was delicate and the flavors were well balanced. We had the 6 course Miku Kaiseki and it was an absolutely delightful adventure. The sashimi and sushi were artfully put together and the seafood was fresh (high quality). We were definitely well fed. This experience will be difficult to beat. Elle was our Server; she was very professional and provided good insight into the dishes. All the Servers wear masks and there are hand sanitizing stations available. Miku is a very safe dining environment during COVID 19.

What a fun place to go. We were looking to have an experience and found the Miku coursed menu the route to go Every course was a taste sensation Presentation was was all encompassing, from the food to the dish ware. The combinations of flavors was very satisfying and the portions enough. In the end, I was stuffed. The special beef carpaccio was brilliant. Very yummy with the different relishes it was served with.
The salmon oshi sushi matches its reputation lol. The salmon oshi sushi from miku was famous and it does taste pretty good. The taste of most dishes were not bad, some are amazing, but i gotta say……it's weird that a sushi restaurant located in Vancouver and right next to the sea use the ingredients that's not fresh……i mean, the restaurant is not bad overall, but iy has disobey the principle of Sushi, which is the way they make their sushi rice and the freshness of their ingredients……
I've never had a worse experience getting take out. Firstly the order took 2 hours to arrive and when it did, the lid of the sashimi container wasn't sealed and half of the contents were in the bag. Secondly, they also forgot one of the rolls. After waiting 2 hours and paying $100 you'd think they would do better. The 6 pieces of sashimi were so thin and horribly sliced, it looked like someone had taken a bite right out of it. The dynamite roll was the smallest I've ever seen and the $10 dessert was the size of my finger. It tasted more like seaweed than it did matcha. Absolutely shocked at the quality control and will never visit their restaurant again. For these absurd prices I expected much, MUCH better. What a joke. You're better off eating at Sushi Garden or Green Leaf Sushi.
20 on the 1-10 scale of awesomeness. You MUST try the Aburi Prime. I rarely have afters but their signature dessert plate (green tea opera) is also to die for. May sound gross but I don’t want to brush my teeth now, the meal tasted that good! Ask for Ryan and just go with his recommendations. Kia Ora and thanks mate!
Ordered Real Crab California Sushi Roll; it tasted stinky and not fresh. Also, their take out soy sauce is way too salty. Not worth to take out at all.
Hands down the best sushi spot I’ve been to, if your visiting Vancouver This place is a must try. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed. If your a sushi fan I would highly recommend
The place is beautiful, the assembly of the dishes is almost perfect, the menu we ordered, although very delicious, I think I prefer the sister restaurant in Yaletown, some dishes the taste was good without being wonderful, I definitely recommend it and would come back
Atmosphere - great view of the water. Food - delicious Price - as expected for the location and quality of food Service - top notch. Our server was excellent.
Order - Miku Kaiseki (5 course taster) Seared Wagyu beef - excellently seared, thin sliced meat with nice flavor vegetable additions. The pickled slightly spicy Wasabi is the perfect pairing to the savory beef Five type Sashimi + Fois Gras - 5 different extremely fresh sashimi, where the fatty tuna melts in your mouth and the fleshy salmon soft to the touch. A fine follow-up dish to the beef. Filet Mignon - the steak is perfectly cooked, enough to remove any gamey taste and blood but not too much to keep it extremely tender and juicy. The outside seared to give it a slight crust just enough to give it an rough texture. The pairings are mashed potato and quinoa that have a tinge of sour but delectable flavor Oshi, sushi, and rolls - each piece a unique combination of floral and aquatic tastes and textures. For instance, the fish roe roll when put into your mouth feels like a thousand small fish swimming across your tongue with a pop during each chew. The whole plate can only be described as an artists pallet of colorful flavors. Matcha Green Tea Ice cream w/ Hazelnut Nougat Matcha Praline - A desert with five different textures: soft ice cream, creamy cheese, spongy cake, solid chocolate, and crunchy nougat. Though a tad sweet for my taste, still an excellent finisher summarizing the wonderful five course meal. Total: $400 for 3 people
The food is exquisite. You get what you pay for. The flavour profiles are each an experience and the server spent time with us at the end of the meal to listen to our experience with the array of desserts we tried.
Had a fantastic dinner here. Some of the best sushi I have ever had, along with other delicious seafood dishes. Our favorites were the pressed sushi, especially the Salmon Oshi and Ebi Oshi. The Ebi Fritters and Kaisen Soba were also really great. Our server was attentive and provided outstanding service. I would highly recommend Miku.
Decided to go for a fancy sushi meal and Miku didn't disappoint. It's on the pricier side but everything was delightful and fresh and worth the price. The servers were amazing, food was great, the whole experience was excellent! I'm not really a Mackerel person but the aburi Saba was my favorite piece of sushi!!! We had the kaiseki menu with a little bit of extra and we were so full, would love to go back and try the rest of their menu when I'm in YVR next for sure.
This place is top notch. Every bite is a heavenly unexpected flavourful experience. The ambiance and the service are very good. I highly recommend for a special occasion or even for a casual lunch. It became one of my favourites ???? restaurant.
Innovative, Pricey, Delightful service! I was delighted by the friendly reception and the beautiful room. The view is awesome, so I purposefully sat with my back to it, as we were at a business lunch and I did not want to be distracted. Staff is thoughtful, well trained and enthusiastic about the product. As a vegetarian, I was very much welcomed and impressed by the choices. The Garden Roll is petite, but absolutely a perfect balance of textures and flavours. 4 pieces of nigiri were like food jewels. Tofu Steak not so much, but garnished nicely. Kale Goma-ae was a great take on a trendy superfood. I am eager to try their tempeh salad in a future visit. My associates enjoyed the Ebi (prawn) Fritters and BC Sockeye Salmon Oshi sushi. Great plates, perfectly executed. Desserts are impressive, and the house made sorbet + ice cream are beautifully garnished and presented. The next time I come (and I will!), I must try the flight of 3 sakes. I would have given 4 1/2 stars if possible, however they lost 1/2 star for the very long (almost embarrassing) wait for the food to arrive, which caused my dining companions to almost be late for their afternoon appointments, and the price/value comparison. I would ideally recommend that you dine here as a guest of someone on a generous expense account...
Very fancy and expensive, but the waterfront view is great! Lots of dishes are drenched in caviar or truffle/ truffle oil to increase the value of the dishes, which I'm not crazy about personally. Great atmosphere though:)
Amazing Japanese experience! We had the lunch Shokai, which included two appetizers (ebi fritters and braised short rib) and a variety of sushi, and the sablefish entree. The sushi was very fresh, the sablefish was buttery, and the short rib was so tender we only needed chopsticks to cut through it. Highly recommended!
Great place, atmosphere, staff and sushi. The steak was also pretty good but the sushi is better. The dessert is very tasty but a bit on the small side. Overall would come again.
Great amazing quality food with friendly staff and the view is spectacular
Best restaurant that I've been to in Vancouver. The staff and servers were very helpful and welcoming. The views from the restaurant are breathtaking and the food is out of this world! It's quite expensive but you don't come here for a cheap meal, you come for an experience. Highly recommend!
Excellent food and customer service. The cooks were very passionate for their creations. Manager was very polite and helped refill waters (well appreciated). A pleasure watching everyone work Food was delicious. Best sushi in Vancouver. Restaurant always has a line up but worth it. Definitely recommend
Rolls and aburi sushi were delicious. Hard to say which one is the best because we all had different favorites. Their dessert platter was also really nice.
Honestly, this place has great tasting sushi but we were disappointed to see how much rice they put in their nigiri and Aburi sushi. In one bite of sushi, you’re getting about 99% rice and it fills you up too much with very little meat. Our server was lovely and all of the staff was so sweet so we still liked our experience a lot. Would I go again? Maybe.
Service is awesome, view and atmosphere was world class, almost all non-sushi items are exceptional. Fish and chips is one of best ive had, very very lightly battered, maintained just a tiny bit of crunch, and yet inside is extremely moist fish with perfect doness. Sable fish gives off amazing aroma, meat flicks off perfectly, very unique oilly smooth texture. Both of the above is a must have. Calamari is super tender, just like one would expect from a top class restaurant. Sushi wise.... i dont have much to say, plating was good? My mistake for having high expectation for their sushi, sushi was really soso. Miku has a different way of saba, and thats prolly the highlight of all sushi. The albacore toro was very disappointing, i see toro then i expect fat..... u can see from the photo that theres hardly any fat. Hamachi was thin, blend, didnt taste fresh at all. Half the things on the premium sushi tastes the same. Friend ordered chirashi and what she got was not what she was expecting, i didnt try it but friend didnt like it. All in all, good service, good atmosphere, good food... if u stay away from sushi.
Amazing service, delicious food and a great atmosphere. A must try for sushi lovers.
Service
As always, an amazing experience. The Aburi sushi here is unparalleled!! Very good with allergies and very professional service. Food is out of this world ????
Amazing lunch menu must try there pressed sushi and ebbifritters. Excellent service from kana and team, making us feel welcomed. Great organization, made a last minute reserve and they had our table prepared and ready on time.
Delicious sushi and a wonderful space. Plenty of excellent choices for different rolls and some of the freshest sushi & nagiri that I’ve had
What an amazing place! I wandered in as a tired traveler and was treated like a king the entire time I was in. This is a staff who really cares about what they are creating. Everyone is energetic and happy to be here, and they want you to be too! I was guided through the menu nicely and had a completely awesome first time experience. Nevermind that the food and dessert tasted fantastic. I just came back from Asia, and this is the best sushi I had all week!
I give this place 5 starts because it is delicious the service was good and the plates look beautiful, but its not as mind blowing as some television shows may lead on. That being said the Saba sushi was by far the best I've ever had, props! I would recommend the Coal Harbour platter but stay away from the Ribeye steak. Enjoy the view of Canada place and the Waterfront
Great service, great location and unbelievable food. I would recommend this place for unique sushi and delicious food. The service was great. The sushi was unique and the waygu was something I highly recommend. Another recommendation is the green tea dessert which takes 3 days to make.
One of the best Sushi places in Vancouver! Its so hard to get in specially at nights (have to book couple of weeks before) but it worths to wait that long! Super nice and polite staff who explain to you the Menu with all details , and the quality of the food is very good.
Overall, the food is great here. You are essentially paying a premium price for the food because of the ambiance and atmosphere of this restaurant. Service for me that day wasn't that great, i had to constantly flag someone down to hunt for my server LMAO.
Absolutely loved this place. We got a table with amazing view of Canada Place and the food was stunning, except Sunset sushi, it was not pleasant at all. However, the Ebi Fritters were UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING.
The waitresses were very friendly and welcoming. You need a reservation for lunch and dinner so make sure to call ahead if you want to avoid long wait times. The salmon Oshi is a must get! Overall, great experience and will be returning to try other items on the menu!
You can never go wrong with this place. Food is always perfect and a great lunch spot. Make sure to get the Green Tea Opera for dessert.
As a high-end restaurant, everything is amazing, from service to food. Though it gets pretty loud, it shouldn't distract from the selection they have. The Oshi selection is quite good, them being known for aburi style sushi, and it was recommended to try the otoro sashimi, which I'll back up, as the flavour and texture is worth the price.
Very nice presentation and fresh food. Though it’s pricier than many other fusion cuisines, our server did a great job explaining each item to us. Would def come back for more.
There were 3 hostesses. We were waiting behind a lady who was checking in with one of the hostesses for about 3 minutes. The other two saw us waiting but continued to tap on their machine. As the hostess was about to finish with the lady, a group entered and cut the line in front of us and talked to the hostesses right away. They knew we had been waiting but decided to check in the group that cut the line. We decided to leave and not dine there.
Miku Sushi Restaurant ???? We ordered off Chef choice menu 7 course. It was exquisite and intriguing every time server brought out a dish. Our server let us know the chef was flown in from Japan and we were in for an Authentic experience. We were very ecstatic with our experience at Miku’s Sushi Restaurants located on Vancouver waterfront. We definitely recommend Miku’s if your looking for a authentic Sushi experience.
Fancy Japanese cuisine. Very good
Condescending... they tell what & how to eat. Vancouver is full of better choices. Mediocre taste. Tourist location. I suggest eating at Nova sushi.
Although I like their food I was super disappointed by their service. We went there on Monday to have dinner and celebrate my birthday. It was 9 pm and the restaurant closes at 10. When we got there, there were empty tables available but the server told us they don't have any availability at the moment and we need to wait a bit. Then she started talking to the other girl next to her and suddenly she changed her words completely and said they won't be able to give us a table. It was very disappointing, where would you need a reservation on Monday night near the closing time while the restaurant has empty tables.
Dine in
Excellente service very welcoming staff Brussel sprouts and prawn were amazing. Great and original sushi its more like "modern" sushi . The desert was good too we had to go. They changed my cockail from vodka to gin they are flexible and had no issue doing the changes. The View is prety awesome
Lovely sushi and a great experience eating here. Our server was great and the views were remarkable! Highly recomend.
Very good dining experience even if there is a pandemic. Great ambience. Great for special occasions. The restaurant is for fine dining which is why they are a bit pricier that a regular japanesr restaurant. The best aburi I have ever tried.
What an amazing experience, beautiful view of cruise boats and water. Really attentive and friendly staff. For my first visit they helped me order the must try! Their signature way of cooking the fish on top of ???? is melting in your mouth of all deliciousness! Cocktails are too beautiful to drink, very fragrant and smooth. Will have to try Chef's choice next time!
This is a place that you need to go when you visit Vancouver. Beautiful view and delicious food. It is quite pricey but it is worth it. Great friendly staffs. You won't regret.
The sashimi tasted like it had been sitting out all day oxidizing. It was disappointing that a restaurant on the water had what tasted like anything but fresh fish. No one seemed to care either. Food was decent, but I was expecting excellence.
Miku's aburi is my top favorite. Sushi, ebi or mackerel will blow your mind. Don't forget to order the paris-brest if you're a fan of pastries and ice cream. This place is worth the money.
Clean presentation, refined taste, and well executed. Miku is a higher end experience for Japanese cuisine. The atmosphere is amazing and the service is attentive and not obstrustive. I'd highly recommend their chef's menu for first timers because it showcases what Miku can do and you can focus your selections on the second visit. I personally enjoy their Aburi Sushi. Overall, Miku is a restaurant that offers quality food and service.
The high end Japanese restaurant with good view of Waterfront but the price is high $$$$.This restaurant has authentic and modern Japanese cuisine that you can choose. The ingredients are very fresh. The cooking technique is full of Japanese inspiration. There has variety of sake.Next time I will try Omakase(Chef’s selection).
The food was great, we had the tasting menu. The problem was the waiting between plates and the waiting to get a table (bar in our case) 45 min on a normal thursday. It didn't look that full though.
This was my most favourite meal during my stay in Vancouver! My server was so sweet and friendly, I wish I caught her name but she was very engaging and personable. The ambiance was so nice, especially on the patio with the waterfront view. I ordered the salmon aburi and ebi aburi, and both were melt in your mouth goodness. It was so fresh and delectable. I enjoyed every bite and this was definately worth the money. Treat yourself to this AMAZING foodie experience, you will love this!
Dinner
Hands down the best food I have ever had! The waitress hosting us was extremely informative and passionate about their sushi which added to the experience. Of all the things I have tried, I highly recommend trying their Sashimi Platter. It is beautiful and extremely flavorful. It is a bit pricey but absolutely worth it to visit at least once during your visit to Vancouver.
A great place to eat exceptional sushi. A little greasy, but so worth it. Don't shy away from the desert menu. They have amazing options.
Unreal sushi and the dessert was amazing. I really liked the atmosphere inside and the staff was courteous and friendly and very knowledgeable about their processes. I'd definitely go back next time I'm in Vancouver.
A bit pricey, but you do get what you pay for, which is fresh and delicious food. I had the salmon oshi sushi, and it was amazing. Their oshi sushi is truly one of the best of the best compared to other places. The soba was also quite nice, as recommended by our server.
A big restaurant with a great number of tables and a great view of Canada place but the seats are completely filled. Make sure to reserve if you want to try their adventurous and delicious food. We were a bit hesitant at first to order the Kaiseki meal sets because of the price (98$ for the Waterfront and 150$ for the Miku) but it was definitely worth the money. For the Waterfront, different items in their regular menu was re-customized and reorganized to fit into a 6 course meal. As for the Miku Kaiseki, it was a total of 8 courses with meals that you cannot order from their menu unless you try this meal set. In my opinion, the Miku one is a lot better, tastier and worth the money, even though it is 150$. Each courses brought in adventurous flavours that I have never tasted before and they all worked so well. The sauce combined with the top quality ingredients just melted us away at almost each courses. Along the experience, we had a very friendly and patient waitress that would just explain to us what the course was and she would take the time to repeat everything when we missed something. The overall experience was truly a fantastic and unique one.
Had Miku in Toronto and I knew I had to come here. Fish is extraordinarily fresh. The torched pressed sushi is to die for. Amazing!
Delicious and unique! I popped in for lunch on my last day in Vancouver and had the aburi chirashi tart (which comes with miso soup) and a side of kale with sesame dressing. Both were really tasty. The tart was quite unusual - in a good way - fresh, tasty, melt in the mouth fish between layers of rice with a thin omelette on top. The service was also lovely. The atmosphere was nice, I spent some time sitting at the bar enjoying a pot of jasmine tea. If I were in Vancouver for longer I would go back to try the sushi and sashimi - though it's quite hard to get a reservation and I had just dropped by on the off chance there would be room for 1 at the bar.
Some of the freshest and most mouth watering sushi you will ever eat. we got the lunch shokai, which included miso soup, two appetizers and 10 pieces of sushi (for $38 - well worth it). the service was fantastic. atmosphere was really cozy. definitely a favorite.
Great ambience, great service, good quality sushi, slightly pricey. When you first enter the restaurant, the whole restaurant of 30+ workers(servers & chefs) greet you with a warm Japanese welcome. Just be mental prepared that this is at the high-end level of Japanese dining, so things are definitely going to be slightly pricey. lunch time here do get a bit crowded and if you want the seats with the Bay view, you gotta wait. I would recommend looking at their online menu before coming to get a sense of the price before you come. I got the premium sushi lunch platter that consist of 12 sushi in total, definitely filling. All were great quality sushi except the salmon which I had not much fat content to it. There is the table seats suitable for groups and the bar seats and the bar seats in front of the chefs. Definitely would come again.
We went for lunch on our vcation. Excellent foods and service! View from our table was also wonderful. Loved every bite of the foods we ordered. We ended up ordering more individual scallop nigiri because it was just too good not to eat more! Absolutely recommend getting miku zen!!
They might have the best sushi in Vancouver. Better than many restaurants I have tried in Japan. What suprises me most is the high quality dessert. Matcha opera cake is classic. Macaron tastes amazing, S tier, worth a try. Edit: typo
Very good kaiseki dining experience at Miku. Service started out strong but was very absent near the end. They had a list for the $110 kaiseki but not the $150. It's minorly problematic trying to hear and remember the items without something to refer to, especially for those who are older. This is common in many restaurants of course, but it would be nice to get a menu for those who might need help. It was difficult hearing what the server was saying due to the noise. When we went it ended up being a full house. The volume is loud with its high ceilings so I would not recommend it for a quiet dinner. It's a very modern space with tasteful decor. The highlights for our $150 kaiseki was the Wagyu beef (two small pieces but it's all you need since it is ridiculously rich), the lobster sauce and the dessert that sparkled and shone with the light. The vinegared... Salsa? That was on the side of the plate was perfect for cutting the richness of the Wagyu. For a special occasion it's a nice choice.
The evolving modernization of Japanese cuisine is done well a Miku. My mom and I enjoyed Christmas Eve dinner Japanese style. We had the special meal. Which was a ton of food.
Very popular place. Great decor and dining atmosphere. I'm usually not a fan of luxury/fine dining but this place really impressed me. It was about $170 for the food in the photos and a drink, but yet it felt worth it. The sushi is full of flavour and freshness. Amazing. Would visit again in the future.
Fantastic restaurant. Visited when it was relatively busy but the staff did a great job in seating us. The view was really nice and I loved all the natural light coming into the restaurant. We order their famous aburi sushi and it did not disappoint, but my favourite dish they had was a lobster and truffle nigiri. It was the special dish for the day and it was defiantly one of the best things I have ever ate. I loved how balanced it was, the truffle provided an earthy-ness where the rice was a little sweet and the lobster was salty and perfectly cooked. We also ordered the green tea opera, which I was not too excited for as I'm not the biggest matcha or green tea fan, but it was really good. I would love to return again, but this location is the only one I would visit. The Toronto one has a lot to work on and does not even come close to this one.
Definitely the best service and best food. Thank you for all the servers and managers. Phenomenal experience and taste.
Perfect experience. We took a special sushi plate which was really good. They have their own style to caramelize and season the sushis which is very different than other sushi places. I recommend this place.
Would love to rate the dining experience but I will stick to the TRYING to dine experience. They didn't answer their phone for in dining or pick up. Their web site is pretty unresponsive. The menu also has a disappointing selection. When the phone number for ordering food just hung up on me out of no where, I gave up and ate elsewhere.
Wow, Miku does vegetarian food SO well. Here for dine out and was impressed from the first bite of crispy tempeh and just mm-ed my entire meal. Service was great but felt like it was kind of lagging given that we were here when it was pretty empty before 4pm on a weekday. I thought the ambiance and music was noticeably great at first, and then it felt like the music got turned up towards the end of our time here.
Contemporary fusion approach to Japanese sushi and cuisine located at the waterfront. The restaurant is known for its aburi-style sushi and sashimi. Nice lively space though the background music can be a loud and clubby. Definitely look at making reservations for good comfortsble table seating.

Tasty high quality sashimi, rolls and sushis! Very inviting atmosphere and excellent service! If you are visiting Vancouver, you can taste the fine Japanese cuisine in Miku.
Dinner
I took the dine out menu and I loved it. The food was fresh and it was different from all the other Japanese restaurant I have been. I had a great experience. The server was very attentive to our needs and gave us good suggestions for drinks. You have to taste their plum wine :) And bonus point: the view was beautiful.
This is my favourite Japanese restaurant. I love their menu, and their customer service is top notch.
Tasty Aburi sushi. Nice environment with great service. Waiter serving us was informative and patient in introducing the menu and offering recommendations. Good meal after hours of walk around Stanley park.
Service
Had the dine out last time it was available and it was fantastic. I never used to eat raw sushi until i ate here and now i do all the time. The plating was also incredibly beautiful.
This really is the best sushi in the city. I thought I had eaten enough sushi from around Vancouver that there was no way this place was going to be anything extrordinary. I was wrong. The food here is on another level. We hade the scallop sashimi, red wave roll, appetizer calamari, and one other roll I cant remember the name of and it was all amazing. The servers were next level as well. The atmosphere and views of Vancouver harbour were perfect. THIS IS A MUST TRY PLACE TO EAT!!
Was recommended to go here by a friend, saying it was the best sushi ???? he had. So I had to try out although we eat a lot of sushi so it would be a long shot to be the best. We took our daughter for her birthday lunch and when we were …

Had an amazing experience at Miku. Was impressed with our server's knowledge and passion for the food and drink on the menu. Price was fair for the high quality food. Ambiance was great and ofcourse the location is prime. Will be back for another special occasion.
No street or obvious parking. But there are many parking lots near by. We did not have a reservation but got seated very quickly. Host and waiter were very friendly. They took us towards the back where we got some pretty good view, even with the kids. Menu is not what we are used to, but if you are there for sushi, you should he able to get what you are looking for. If not on menu, you can still ask. Pretty pricey for the quality, but the environment and setting are very nice. Excellent for a date. ;-) I am not from the area so not sure if I would visit again. But if I am, I think I'll check out more places before coming back. 3 Stars for quality, 4 because of overall experience.
I enjoyed my first time here, I will absolutely come back! It was really busy, but our server was very attentive to our table. I didn't feel the need to flag her down as she always came back to make sure we were okay. The food was so delicious. I only ordered aburi; salmon oshi and the mackerel, but it was very filling. The fish was so fresh and flavourful. I tried a bit of the ebi fritters from my friends' order, which was also really good. The prawns were a substantial size, cooked perfectly (because nothing worse than rubbery, chewy and over cooked shrimp), and the batter was light and crispy. I'm looking forward to my next visit here.
Possibly one of the best Sushi places in Vancouver. It is pricey but to me it's worth it to get the quality. Their oshi sushi is like no other. I've tried other places and theirs just doesn't match up. Plating is so visually appealing and the food matches to the visual presentation. Parking in the area is expensive (meters are $6 an hour) and there is usually a long wait if you're there for dinner so try to make reservations!
Best nigiri I've ever had! Everything was great. The place is a bit pricey but it's worth it for a nice dinner!
Very tasty spot for lunch. I usually come here for work lunches and the food is always top notch. We shared the calamari which was really good and then the sablefish (incredible). Waits at lunch can be long so doing lunch in an hour can be challenging. The spot has great views and would be a good place for tourists to try. It is expensive for sushi but it is unique and of much higher quality than a normal sushi joint.
From the moment we walked in to the restaurant to the moment we finished our dinner the staff was amazing. We had the Aburi experience. The sushi did tell the story. Will definitely go back.
Service
Very good sushi and has a different style where it is pressed instead of rolled. The salmon oshi was so good we had to order another.
Came with husband and daughter to try out the Keisei omakase menu. Was able to order off menu for my daughter some avocado and cucumber roll and a side soba noodle. Omakase for us was amazing. Fresh tasting dishes with good interesting layers of flavour. Dishes were also presented beautifully. Very helpful and friendly staff, overall great experience. Beautiful restaurant with good views as well.
Easily the best for quality and taste. Each piece of sushi was garnished or topped with something special to make it stand out. In the rolls, each individual ingredient's flavor popped. And the sashimi was super flavorful. Adding to that was the excellent service and laid back staff that was very welcoming and had great advice. Oh, and finally, the Brussel sprouts are awesome.
Dinner
Great service, oshi sushi was nice and the sablefish stole the show! Seaweed salad was a bit underseasoned but definitely unique! Amazing sake selection too. Really enjoyed the dinner here!
Ok get some rectangular oshi sushis there. First time and clearly I missed something for many years. I took the signature plate of sushis. It is a great way to taste the different options they have and then you can go for more of the ones you liked. Try to get one of tables outside or at least with a view.
Great tasting menu. It was a lot of food but all well done. Would recommend

Dinner
Amazing! Make a reservation before! If you don’t - put your name down for “walk in” and then go grab drinks before hand while waiting - the wait is 100% worth it! This restaurant takes sushi and service to another level! Our waitress folded our napkins while we were away and topped off our wine glasses and was super friendly! We shared everything and every item we ordered was 10/10 amazing! Best sushi I’ve ever had and the freshest seafood!
Dinner
We got the feature donburi (chu-toro) and the premium. The sushi was decent but not good enough for the high price.
Amazing. Each piece had its own sauce, flavors, and texture.
Dinner
Beautiful view, good service and delicious food. I highly recommend coming here. Especially during Dine out Vancouver
The four of us were impressed by the quality of the dishes and the superb presentation. Subtle, tasteful and beautiful. We’ll come back.
The food looked incredible. Beautifully presented. I wanted to leave a good review but we got horrible food poisoning and instead of taking any sort of accountability they tried to make it a BC health issue. My husband is a Chef from NY. We were not trying to get free food!
Solid modern Japanese fusion Prime rib: 10oz AAA beef cooked to perfection with demiglased sauce and wasabi-flavored salsa (wasabi pairs well with fatty, juicy Ribeyes). Comes with pureed broiled potatoes. Quite filling dish - $42 Oshi-sushi: got the 6-piece salmon, which melts in your mouth. Slight kick of jalapeno. The rice is lightly pressed into squares with small bits of sockeye "beni shake" salmon mixed in - $17 Aburi (nigiri) sushi: had the bincho and kanpachi. Slightly disappointing. The fish itself isn't flavorful and are unfortunately coated with "Asian fusion sauces". Not horrible, but not the main attraction (despite it being one of their specialties) - $3 ~ MP / piece Overall a strong Japanese fusion. Definitely above average with reasonable prices. Excellent family/date spot.
Awesome experience, great food! The servers were amazing, food was excellent! The Miso sable fish was my absolute favorite.
Service
The Beef Shank was absolutely amazing, started with the Brussel Sprout Chips. Finished off with the Caramel Whiskey Ice Cream would recommend all of these! Give it a shot even if you aren't a sushi lover.

delicious! great setting and great service. Will come back.
Located right beside Canada Place, this restaurant sits right on the water, so as you dine you can enjoy a lovely view. Make sure to make a reso days before if you’d like a table with a view. You could also walk-in and wait for a table on their patio, which is what I did and found it really pleasant. As soon as you enter, you are greeted by their gorgeous bar in the centre of the restaurant. So it was without question that I needed to order a drink. I ordered the Bergamot Sour and WOW. Hands down the best cocktail I’ve ever had.. like guys, this drink had YUZU in it! YUZU.. An exotic and coveted citrus fruit that tastes like a combination of lemon, lime and grape fruit. We started with the Ebi Fritter (beer battered shrimp) and Brussels Sprout Chips. The Ebi Fritter was delicious, and the greens on the side were great too. I also really enjoyed the Brussels Sprouts. For dinner, we ordered the Salomon Oshi, Ebi Oshi and the Surf & Turf Roll. Literally everything tasted amazing. The sushi is so prepared with such good technique that it does not need soy sauce! I really loved the Surf and Turf Roll, it was such a medley of flavours and textures. The smokiness from the torching of the all the sushi was such a nice touch. One thing to keep in mind is that the dishes aren’t really meant to be filling, and this is a high-end sushi restaurant- so if you are looking to leave stuffed.. your wallet might have to leave empty LOL! Totally worth it though. Another thing about Miku is the service! Our serve was AMAZING. He was so friendly and made the best recommendations. He was on top of his table maintenance too. I loved how they present each dish to you, not only are they plated beautifully, but when dropped off at the table it’s done with courtesy. Even little details like the chopstick holders, had me satisfied. This was the actual best place to end my trip in Vancouver! I seriously cannot recommend enough, even to those of you that do not like sushi!
Luckily we got a window seat so we had a great view of the mountains while enjoying lunch. Great atmosphere and the food is always delicious. Recommend the chicken nanban... The chicken is so tender! Their Aburi is fantastic and each bite is better than the last.
Excellent service and food, sure it's on the pricey side... but it was worth it. Tried the Kaisen and couldn't be happier. Every course was carefully prepared and served with attention to detail. Will definitely have to go back for another visit!
Great location with a view of Canada Place. Fantastic food and presentation. One of the higher end Sushi restaurants in Vancouver.
Miku has been on my bucket list forever & tonight we were finally able to check it off with a celebration of my partner's new job. I normally do a detailed review of all my foodie adventures, but as I don't think I can do our experience or Miku justice all I am going to say is this, if you ever have the opportunity to go to Miku, please do yourself a favour & do it! From start to finish everything exceeded our expectations. The ambiance, the service, the food, the experience...everything was simply perfect. It truly is an evening we will never forget. @inspiringfoodie
Excellent place! The food was really good and delicious. The drinks are yummy! The aburi sushi is highly recommended ! The carpaccio was very unique and their seafood is very fresh. The wagyu beef nigiri has a nice flavour. I love their signature Miku roll ! Every dish is flavourful and delicious and you can’t go wrong with any choice! Their dessert is a must try, I had the green tea opera! I do like the Toronto location a little bit more! But this place is excellent nonetheless!
Their flame seared sushi is the best I have ever had. No joke. This sushi is bursting of so many flavors, you don't need any soya sauce whatsoever. Yes it is fancier and a little on the pricier side but for somebody who has traveled to Japan before, I know good sushi and Miku has some of the best I have ever had. This place has it all. It is located right beside the ocean, with a lovely mural of koi fish on the wall...the ambiance is breathtaking. The low lighting makes it a perfect place for a nice date. The service is quick and if you are seated at the bar, the baristas are very friendly. Be prepared to pay a pretty penny because I guarantee you won't be disappointed with the food and you will crave more and more to eat. 15/10 for food for sure. I have been here 2 times and I plan to eat here each time I visit Vancouver in the future.
So worth it! If you’re in Vancouver this place is a must try! Great service and the food was to die for, fresh and delicious. Definitely going back if I get to visit the city again! Bonus: it also has a good view.
One of the best sushi experiences. Rolls, sashimi, nigiri all tested amazing. Not to mention the great view of the port.
Jeez, don't be late to your reservation or else you'll be scolded by rude staff. We're from out of town, Google map took us to the wrong side of the building so we got lost and showed up late for our reservation. The receptionist was passive aggressive to us on the phone and when we got there, she gave us a whole lot of attitude and raised her voice saying our being late is "unacceptable" and the only reason they keep our reservation is because we already paid for it. We would have been completely fine having our reservation rescheduled, cancelled, or having to wait long, at least be nice about it. Food was fine but dinner experience was soiled by rude staff. Would NOT come back.
As usual, nice staff, great food and excellent view. Their surf and turf sushi roll is a must try!!
I first came to Miku in 2016 during Dine Out and was really impressed with the food quality and their taste. Most recently I got their take out meal box and it was great as usual. Top quality ingredients, freshly made, and nicely packaged. Definitely worth the hype!
I did the oysters and then the 150 dollar set. I have eaten in many Japanese places and this one was definitely high up my list. The sushi was phenomenal and pretty much satisfies any sushi craving you have. The rolls are ok, the main show is definitely the nigiri and their special sushi.
This is My friend’s most favorite Japanese restaurant in the town! I like their sushi so much! I feel they melted in my mouth, so good! Must try! Book a window seat that can have harbor view! What a like enjoyment!
The food is absolutely amazing and the view is also great. Very friendly staff and great service. Highly recommend the Salmon Oshi Sushi and the Green Tea Opera.
Love this place definitely will come back especially on occasions. They made as feel special on our Anniversary!
Super Fresh!! Amazing seafood platter twas the highlight of the meal. They really just pulled everything straight from the water and put it onto the plate. Fantastic. A Large variety of really delicious sakes to choose from was nice. All in a chic atmosphere which makes it a perfect place for special occasions. The “rolls” were okay at best a bit overhyped. The service was a bit lacking but overall, great experience.
Miku has to be the best and freshest sushi I've had in Canada to date. My dine in experience was very pleasant and quite enjoyable. From the moment I stepped in, I knew it would be good, as I hadn't made a reservation (didn't know) but when I mentioned to the staff that I was from out of town, they managed to fit us in. The extensive menu gave me more options on what to choose and though I wasn't sure what the best would be, I decided to go with the waiter's recommendation. We finished our meal with the best dessert - the petit green tea opera. We ordered the lunch shokai, which came with delicious Misa soups, aburi oshi, rolls, nigiri and appetizers.
Superb Japanese restaurant with attentive staff serving fresh delicious food in a picturesque setting. We sat by the window facing the magnificent North shore mountains. The menu had a full range of items to select from ranging across the land and the sea. The salmon auburi and chicken nanban are our standing favourites.
My second 5 star review. The service was perfect , the view amazing, best Miso Soup ever and the sushi exquisite! I give 5 stars because they also have great Covid protocols
The salmon oshi sushi is the absolute best sushi! Melts in your mouth and the sauce is full of delightful flavour with a hint of spice from the jalapeño pepper on top. Servers are very helpful with the menu and have great suggestions.
Top notch food, excellent ambience, super friendly staff, and great view!! Favorite place downtown for aburi sushi!
Was there for late lunch and celebrating an anniversary. The whole experience from beginning to end was enjoyable. The setting, the wait staff and the food all combined to make it a memorable experience ! You will not be disappointed with this elevated dining experience for a fair price. We would return again.
One of my favourite places in the city! They have such great food, friendly service and the ambiance is perfect for date night! Their salmon oshi, soba pepperocino and calamari are a must. Save some space for dessert, because their Green Tea opera is so good. Not too sweet and comes with a side of matcha ice cream!
Miku specializes in aburi style sushi, which apparently is nigiri with the fish grilled topside or lightly seared. Eating sushi while looking out on the water sounded delightful to me, so I made a reservation to give Miku a try. Upon walking in, you see a bar arranged like an island and a sushi bar to the right. Then there's a series of tables lined up by the window overlooking the ocean, a bunch of booths on the other side, and there's a large banquet table in the back for large parties. Besides the bathroom being on the messy side, the venue was very attractive. We were seated in a comfy booth and our waitress went over the Kaiseki menu. I believe we went with the Shokai Kaiseki and started off with a couple of cocktails. Shokai - $68; zensai, entree, signature sushi, dessert Kaisen - $88; 6 courses Aburi - $135 $14 Nightshade - dragon fruit liquor, yuzu, vanilla extract, house blend of bitters, egg white: a beautiful cocktail with dark blue swirls on top of the egg white, tastes a little like a Pisco sour with a nice kick $14 Shiso Mojito - tantakatan Japanese shochu, shiso, lime, sparking water: a rather mild mojito, not too strong, and not too minty Sashimi Selection - scallop, beef, tuna & salmon: This plate included a single seared jumbo scallop with caramelized onions on top, seared beef skewer that resembled and tasted like roast beef over a vegetable shooter, a bite of tuna, and a bite of sockeye salmon with some micro greens. Kyoto Saikyo Miso Baked Sablefish - kale goma-ae, yuzu miso reduction: very silky, creamy sablefish w/ textured kale, a single shishito pepper, a sweet potato chip, and micro greens AAA Sterling Silver Prime Rib - 10 oz, 5 hr sous-vide, brown butter wasabi sauce, market vegetables, iwa-nori butter yukon potato puree: For a multi-course meal, the prime rib was a very nice size. It had a thick vein of fat running through it. It was accompanied with a halved carrot, a meaty mushroom, yellow zucchini, and creamy potatoes. I could have done without the prime rib, actually. Miku Signature Sushi - white tuna & scallop aburi, tuna rolls, aburi oshi salmon & ebi aburi: This was probably my favorite plate of the meal. Every roll was just barely cooked, lightly seared or broiled on top. The scallops were very sweet and juicy. The aburi oshi salmon and ebi aburi were creamier than I expected. Dessert: The meal concluded with a serving of tiramisu topped with a halved cherry, a scoop of ice cream, fruit compote, and a caramelized sugar crisp. I love tiramisu, and this was an alright one, not amazing, not bad. Overall, dinner tasted pretty good and service was great. I enjoyed the aburi sushi, but I'm usually more of a sashimi or regular nigiri person, so I'm not sure if I'd be too eager to make a return visit, but if I do return one day, I'd love to try other cocktails.
FRESH sushi that's clean tasting and extremely flavorful. Some of the best sushi (and views) in Vancouver for sure. If you have the budget for it, I suggest you try it.
I’ve been coming here for years! The sushi here is exceptionally fresh and top quality fish. They are best for their Oshi Sushi (pressed sushi). My favourite is the salmon one! Just mouthwatering. I’ve tried this at a few other places in Vancouver and Toronto, and it’s just no where as close as being as good as Miku. Their Miku maki roll is soooo good. The calamari, sablefish, and sushi tarts are great options as well. The kale gomae is a little dry and I’d probably skip it next time. I absolutely love sitting on the patio here. It has a great view of the water. They also have blankets if you get cold. It is on the pricier side, but totally with every penny to me. About $100 for lunch, and we didn’t have drinks. I always see people waiting for tables, so it’s best to call ahead and make a reservation. Highly recommend this spot if you love sushi!
Lunch
My first sushi in Vancouver! Miku is one of my favourite sushi spots in Toronto, thought it would be interesting to try at its original location in Vancouver. It hit the expectation, but didn't exceed. Turned out that it was pretty much similar quality with the Toronto location, nothing to be too excited about, which was actually good from the quality control point of view. The sashimi platter was fresh. Service was nice too. Food & Presentation +1 Ambience +1 Service +1 Price vs. Quality -1 Other - Location +1
Interesting experiences in a good way. I am not familiar with aburi sushi. They don't offer additional soy sauce with the premium sushi. The sauces are already on the sushi. It is a popular restaurant with views of the water from some of the tables. The end of the sushi bar has a partial view of the water and mountains. The wait staff are excellent. I didn't like the ebi sushi that was processed to the point of looking more like a spread. The high point of the meal are the raw oysters. They are small pacific oysters but incredibly sweet. The vanilla almond creme dessert is very good. The portions are small. The 12 piece premium sushi plate is not filling. At over $100 for a Manhattan cocktail, premium sushi, half order of the ebi aburi, half dozen oysters, dessert and espresso this was extravagant.
the food is awesome, the service is fast and always with smile (it was CAROL who took care of our table). The price is really good. Yes, I will come back for more. Recomended place to hang out in Beautiful City of Vancouver. I forgot to take most foto of the food, I was bussy eating, lol. #happy #satisfied
Service
We really loved the place. We tried to get a dinner reservation for Monday by Sunday's noon, but there was no space for dinner until Wednesday, so we went there for lunch instead. The place was packed and there was a lot people waiting for a table. Fortunately, we got a nice spot by the window with a beautiful view of the north shore, the ferries going back and forth and some occasional landing helicopter. The waiter was super nice, attentive and helpful. She asked us if we had been there before and explained us the menu, the specialties of the restaurant and made some nice suggestions. She offered us a drink (my wife had a very nice sake) and brought water and tea. We had a seaweed salad, which was absolutely awesome, and a sushi lunch for each of us (each of which included a miso soup, also very good). We had a premium lunch, with a selection of nigiri, rolls and oshi, some of them traditional, some innovative like the salmon oshi with jalapeño and some nice sauce. The second luch was an Aburi Chirashi Tart (complicated dish, look up the description in Miku's website), which was absolutely fantastic, some very inventive dish that I really recommend trying. For dessert we had the lemon cassis mousse and the earl grey valrhona chocolate ganache. Both of them excellent, but the mousse was more on our taste, it has a perfect balance of sweet and tart. The ganache came with a piña colada sorbet that was magnificent, and wich also kind of balanced the sweetness of the rest of the dessert. It is a bit expensive (120 CAD), but it is, overall, a great experience: beautiful place, great service, amazing food. I will definitely come back.
Miku is my favorite sushi restaurant in Vancouver. Everytime I come back I come here for lunch. The pressed sushi, Oshi, is the most amazing thing you will try. The fish is so fresh and prepared perfectly. The staff are friendly, and very busy. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant.
Out of this world seafood. Worth the experience (albeit pricy). The staff is friendly and attentive, and the variety is above other restaurants. Keep in mind that kaiseki is only after 5pm though.
We are from Toronto and so many people recommended this place so me and my boyfriend Went there yesterday. The food is the beyond my expectations and the service is awesome!! We will definitely come back for a dinner too!
Meal type
If it would be possible, I would leave 0 (zero) stars. Where to begin? The sign at the entrance, “no walk-ins today, reservations only". Ok! I called in to make a reservation from outside the restaurant. The reply was, “oh, no problem, just go to the hostess and get a table”. We did. We got a table right at the entrance that felt uncomfortable, and the entire place was still empty, but we were not allowed to sit anywhere else. As a matter of fact, an hour later, there were still many better tables that were not occupied. Once seated, the service was heartless. We ordered drinks and tea as well as appetizers first. It took forever to even just receive a glass of water never mind the tea or drinks. The oysters were served with the waiters thumb on top of some oysters. The sashimi lunch was a complete disappointment. The fish was clearly not fresh, it was chewy, stringy, and bitter. The “chicken nanban” was soggy, bland, and the tartar sauce was bucket sauce from Costco, just awful. We could not eat a bite of the food. When asked by the server if there is something wrong, we explained, what we felt was wrong, in a very diplomatic manner. The table was cleared, the bill arrived, everything was fully tallied, no apologies, no explanations. For us this was a statement, to pay up and shut up. This fancy place has lost its way. There are numerous small and casual Japanese cuisine places all around Vancouver. The fact that MIKU has a harbour front view does not excuse the sloppy food and snobby staff. Good luck recovering from the lockdown.
Lunch
DELICIOUS AND FRESH! I always love Miku everytime I go! I love their sushi, desserts and refreshing drinks. Would recommend to drop by. Also the interior is pretty and has an open concept. You get greeted by the chefs and staff once you enter. The only think that was ok was the strawberry pistachio mousse cake. It had too much mousse. Tasted like a chunk of whip cream
Super disappointed with the restaurant as they couldn't accommodate for my elopement day when they got the reservation completely wrong. Ended up going to a competing restaurant with much better service.
I was greeted by pretty upscale staff and always had my server anticipating what I might need. I felt like I was having a new but truly traditional food experience. And by the way, DO let them make Saki recommendations. A bit expensive but what the hey - you'll remember the experience.
Delicious lunch at Miku with a great view of the north shore mountains. We had the lunch shokai, crispy Brussel sprouts, salmon eburi and the chicken nanban. First time having sushi without soy sauce on the side and it was so flavour!
This will be two reviews - one for an in-dining experience and the other for takeout. For the in-dining experience, we dined on the patio and there was tons of space between tables so social distancing was most definitely in effect. We were there for lunch so we didn't order a ton of food, but we were there specifically for the Salmon Oshi which is by far my most favourite thing on the menu of theirs! Yes, it is a bit pricey and when you first get it you don't think 6 pieces will fill you up, but it is actually quite satisfying! The wait staff were attentive and nice and service was fairly quick (we went on a Friday afternoon). For the takeout experience - it took about an hour from when I ordered (around 1pm on a weekday) to receive my food. I ordered the Salmon Oshi and brussel sprout chips. Salmon Oshi was just as good as when I had it at the restaurant, but the brussel sprout chips weren't crispy at all. They were quite soggy, I'm guessing from being packed in an enclosed and heated container so I don't know if they were supposed to have a crispy texture or not. Regardless, I won't be ordering them again. Stick the the sushi and you won't go wrong!
The staff is excellent; they are very kind and very considerate. We enjoyed the premium platter off their lunch menu. The platter was very aesthetically pleasing, but some of the items were adequate at best. I'm not inclined to reduce the rating since we were informed about what they're renowned for by the staff right before placing the order, and their recommendations were indeed quite good (such as their Aburi Sushi). The appetizers we had were also delicious; I very highly recommend the Ebi Fritters.
The service here is always incredible. The sushi and food is even better!
Always great sushi and great service. Their vegan options are very good now too.
Not bad not great
There for a private event and lecture. Probably one of the best sushi meals ever. Lobster tail, tender beef fish and beautiful sushi plate and a chocolate macha cake to die for. Incredible venue and view. CS private cellar as well.
Service
went to miku for lunch, we made reservations a few days ahead of time we parked in the garage attached to canada place, $12 for 1.5 hours had the lunch shokai, which came with a variety of sushi pieces from aburi to rolls to nigiri, all were phenomenal the salmon aburi was particularly good so we did an additional 6 pieces of that and finished with the petit green tea opera

Great presentation, amazing flavours and very tasty food. Great service as well. You have to book in advance specially for dinner.
Excellent quality food. The fish is so fresh, and the chef takes pride in presentation. Service was great. Tried the sake flight, it was awesome! Visited again six months later, same great experience. Definitely one of my favourite sushi spots in Vancouver.
Lunch
Pretty good sushi! However, expect to pay a bit of a premium
Yes it’s very expensive but it’s the best place for a great meal and to celebrate a special occasion. The aburi sushi is to die for. The drinks are amazing. And the presentation, freshness, taste and service are excellent. Miku is the place I tell friends visiting from out of town that they must go to.
I believe Miku and Minami have the same owner, so, like Minami, Miku was amazing. Firstly, the view of Canada Place and the water is fantastic. Now let's get into the food. The aburi sushi (flame-seared) was spectacular, and the fish melts in our mouth with the perfectly charred flavour that you expect when you hear about what aburi sushi is. The sake tasting platter was especially impressive, which offered an array of different sakes, which the server offered help on which to start with and move on to as you enjoy your meal. I will be back for another special occasion!
Really expensive (for me anyways) but it was delicious. I got the six course dinner menu and I thought everything was great. However the portions were small - expected of fine dining - and the food that wasn't sushi wasn't quite as good as the rest. Enjoyed it but might just get the sushi separately instead of the full course.
Fantastic experience here, everything was top notch. Service was impeccable, all the staff were kind, professional, and prompt. Food was excellent, the seafood was fresh and delicious. The view if you get a table along the window is one of a kind, overlooking the mountains and ocean. Highly recommended.
The 175 Holiday Kaiseki menu is definitely worth trying! You will get a taste of everything with great quality over the 7 course meal.
Service
Sushi is very fresh, taste amazing. Good environment, and friendly staff. It is a little pricy, but for the food it is definitely worth. May need to reserve weeks in advance. Tip: Ask the staff to sit you on the patio face the harbour, the view is incredible.
Not sure how people can rate this five stars...very underwhelming. First off, this is not a Japanese restaurant, it's fusion. But it could still be good, right? Unfortunately, the quality of the fish in the sushi, donburi and chirashi is very mediocre even though the restaurant sits right by the sea. My tuna tatar even had inedible pieces of tuna in it. We were five people sharing lots of dishes and the only good ones were the brussel sprouts and kaisen soba. Three stars for the view, the atmosphere and the friendly service - but please don't come here for sushi / fish.
Really well made delicious Japanese sushi that compares to eating in Japan. I took out the Deluxe Zensai Tier and the Aburi Oshi and Roll Tier and was enough to feed us and our toddler son. A little bit on the pricier side, and they didn't give us any napkins. The Google map directions to find my way there were horrible.
Service
Top 3 tasting menu Ive ever had and that includes international. The sushi was the best Ive ever had, the Wagyu dish was incredible and the lobster risotto had incredible flavor. I felt like the Chef and team are "in the zone". Service was lovely and friendly. Definitely a dining experience to remember!
Used to really love Miku but after todays ordeal I can only see them in a bad light. I had booked our late lunch valentines date almost a whole month in advance and I have noted down in the special notes that we would like to try to the waterfront kaiseki since we’ve already experience the Miku kaiseki before. We called today since we were going to be 15 minutes late and the woman on the phone informed us that there aren’t any regular kaisekis being served since they have the valentines kaiseki at the moment, which we didn’t mind at all. But then she continued to say that there are no kaisekis being served before 5pm and we would only be able to order from the lunch menu. This was quite disheartening since we were looking forward to this date and was basically kicked out. We asked if she could push our reservation further but she only offered us to walk in (which will not ensure a spot and would most likely make us wait, which kind of defeats the purpose of booking ahead.). I’ve never had this experience here before and I feel like the level of customer service should have been higher. We felt like we were ignored and pushed away without even giving any consideration. I hope this does not happen again in the future.
Lunch
I don’t eat sushi and I didn’t eat the sushi here. Instead, I had miso soup, the chicken nanban, edemame, and tiger shrimp dish. Excellent choices - all fresh, delicious, and affordable. I would highly recommend those. The people I was with and had the sushi thought it was overrated and overpriced.
We've long wanted to try Miku and finally decided to for their kaiseki offering on their patio. The sake pairing was excellent, and the presentation was very good. However, we provided our food intolerances when we made our reservation and they made very little effort to accommodate them. They should be honest and say they cannot or will not at the time of reservation to allow you to cancel then. Really simple stuff like a sauce that is laden with your food intolerance, which can be excluded, was not. For a 500+ meal for two, I would expect better. Also, while they control the pace of delivering food to you, they were very aggressive in getting you to leave even while you wait for them to bring your course! Disappointing. There are better places in the city if you are looking for authentic Japanese or fusion, with better service.
Must try if you are in Vancouver. Everything we ordered was great and amazing service. Beautiful views as well..
After having sushi in this place, it’s hard to eat in other regular sushi places. The prices are high for a reason. Each sushi is a perfect combination of different tastes mixed together. They are not just pieces but a unique food art created precisely.

Had a fantastic time at Miku. Probably one of the best meals I've ever had! I highly recommend the Salmon Oshi Sushi. You'll want to savour every bite. It was exceptional! Thank you!
We got seats at the sushi bar and got the lunch shokai special. It was essentially a platter of everything. We got miso soup... Which was amazing! Small portion but packed with flavour. When the sushi and the beef came it was stellar. So much flavour in what seems like such a small portion... Rest assured, for the prices... You will be FULL! Even the cocktails were filling and delicious. Service was fantastic. We had a bubbly and extremely personable waitress who was quick to answer and and all questions about the entire menu and what we were eating. Not to mention the water refills were on point! Would recommend for anyone who loves sushi or seafood. Very balanced of flavours and not to mention the food was beautiful!
Without a doubt the best sushi restaurant I've ever been to. I have to recommend the sushi lunches, as they come with a wide variety of sushi (or sashimi) and a delicious Miso soup.
Miku is my favorite sushi place in Vancouver! I have been there for several times in three years and I congratulated our anniversary last week in Miku. Love the place a lot and the service is very good! View from Miku is also fascinating!
I’m glad we were able to celebrate my aunt’s birthday here in Miku Restaurant. Great view and service. Foods were ok. Beef was kinda tough when my uncle ate it.But overall , we had great experience. Sushis and Miso soup were the best! I’ll recommended it. Till next time!

Truly magnificent vibes, food, and drinks. Check out our photos for the line up. Can't wait to come back, and try the other dishes.
Pricey but awesome!
Service
Not so authentic Japanese sushi or Japanese food (and I'm from Japan), but I loved their unique twists to Japanese food and it tasted delicious! The fish they use are very fresh and has a lot of good fat, so we thought their portion was small at first, but by the end of the meal, we felt full and so satisfied. It is not a cheap restaurant, so it's not a place I would go very frequently, but is definitely a place you want to visit once if you're in Vancouver downtown. I feel like they could do better with their dessert though. It was so heavy and had such strong taste that all the good taste of delicious fish we ate before the dessert just disappeared very quickly. It might be my personal preference though. I like to eat Japanese sweets or fresh fruits with soft tastes after eating delicious fish.
Our waiter was absolutely AMAZING. Unfortunately a few fruit flies were inside our salad. But they were very good at customer service and remade our salad right away. The rest of the food was amazing !
A must try for all sushi lovers. Unfortunately we couldn't dine on site however, the quality of the food more than made up for the missed opportunity to enjoy their patio!
A fancy dinner at fancy sushi spot near the waterfront, here we come for our last dinner in Vancouver. We made the reservation, and the minute we arrived, we got seated promptly. Our waiter is wonderful. We started with a cocktail, followed by Brussels Chips, some nigiri, futomaki homosaki. Interesting part of the sushi are the wasabi was already between the fish and rice, so we had to dip it in the regular soy or their home made soy. Every single platter was delicious. Also, they were presented so beautifully. It was like some arts. We ended with a nice cup of cappuccino. And the final piece of resistance, the desert. A platter four delicious fruit tarts. The tarts were presented as a masterpiece of the art of work. I would highly recommend this place for all the sushi lovers.
I fell in love with aburi sushi ever since I was had a taste of this style of sushi. Miku is apparently well known for aburi sushi. I was a little disappointed after looking at their menu because they only had 3 choices for aburi sushi. We ordered salmon and saba aburi sushi from the aburi section of the menu. We also ordered unagi nigiri. Initially my wife and I thought that might not be enough for the two of us but we were wrong. All of our dishes were delicious and we especially like the unagi. However, the salmon and Saba aburi both came with a lot of rice on a very thin layer of meat. I think it could have been better had they reduced the amount of rice they serve for those two items. If you like aburi sushi just like me I'd suggest that you order from the nigiri section of the menu but ask for aburi style, which is a little extra but worth your penny since I think those offer a better balance between the meat and rice.

Ordered Ebi Fritters, Salmon Oshi Sushi, Miku Roll, Nutrigreen Farm Tofu Salad, Green Tea Opera, and Kaisen Soba Peperoncino. The service was amazing. The harbour view was mediocre given the rainy weather and time of day (noon). Furthermore, the sushi ordered tasted like any other, and was cold, which was disappointing. I really loved the taste if the soba dish. Otherwise, I don't think the experience was very worth.
Service
Thanks for accommodating us even though we were late for our reservation for 30 minutes. You serve the freshest ingredients and the service is impeccable. Thank you for the wonderful experience ❤
This is my 4th time dining at Miku. Very disappointed, sashimi was like a 2 star restaurant, the oyster was the smallest I have ever seen, server recommend bass sashimi but it really not our favorite. First time I came here 5 years ago it was excellent, hope they will back to what they used to before.
Absolutely awesome experience. The best Japanese food I have tasted outside of Japan itself! Amazing staff and ambience. You have to visit here if you are in Vancouver.
We had lunch here and we were absolutely impressed. Beautiful presentation and food was amazing. And the price - wow. (You won’t find anything like this at this price in England at all!). Absolutely loved it. Whilst staying in Vancouver (7 day trip) we visited this place twice - we just adored this place! I would totally recommend this place to anyone visiting Vancouver.
We did the 150 Miku Kaiseki set menu and all the food is fantastic. The highlight for me personally is the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Nigiri. One came with Uni on top, the other with Ikura. The Wagyu is simply spectacular. The next one that I truly enjoyed is the Pan Seared Hokkaido Scallop. It was cooked beautifully. We were seated at the patio overlooking the water. That added view enhanced the experience further. There was a heat lamp close by so it wasn't too cold to sit outside. The staff who brought us the food is extremely friendly and explained each dish with details. Overall, I recommend going to Miku and trying out their Kaiseki menu at least once or during special occasions.
Mike had a good mix of traditional sashimi, fusion sushi and oysters. The view at the patio was wonderful. The drinks were great too! I would recommend Miku to anybody looking for non-traditional delicious sushi and quality sashimi.

Best sushi I have ever had!
their lunch sushi combo is a must have. excellent. I am normally a low carb guy, but I can't help myself with their sushi. I finished them to the very last grain of rice..
In brief, just go and order something on menu, always surprising. Nice view and really helpful waiter so that never need to worry about not quite knowning sushi.
Top notch sushi and excellent service. Only complaint is the sushi rice which didn't quite hold together and was falling apart a bit. Highly recommend the salmon oshi.
5 stars for the salmon pressed sushi alone. SO GOOD. We ended up getting 2 servings of it! Tempura fish & chips were good, as was the red wave roll. Great service and delicious food. Pretty quick to come out too, considering how many people were there.
My favorite one & had amazing experience in last week's dinner with Miku. Our waiter was so friendly and pleasure, they always help us to decided to quality foods & menu. I'm would like to thank management team, they decorated Miku very well. Everything looks so clean and quite. I will be back again.
This restaurant was so mediocre - my sister and I had extremely high expectations considering the price and the hype. We got the shiso mojito and the little emperor for drinks. Both were very good, though the little emperor was quite sweet for my liking. We both got the waterfront kaiseki set which was pretty underwhelming. The appetizer was just okay - the scallop was delicious but the other two were meh. Next was the beef carpaccio - this one was pretty good! The flavors were yummy together and the yolk made it nice and rich and creamy. The sashimi was fresh and tasted quite good, I like that they gave us two different types of soy sauce for a variety. The steak was alright, it was tougher than I had expected but the vegetables and the pumpkin puree were great. The sushi was the most disappointing because that is what they're known for. None of them were really that great and the one in the middle with the mashed up tuna tasted really weird. Also, because it didn't come with any soy sauce, it was really dry. There was so much rice compared to the aburi topping that I just left a bunch of the rice on the plate. The dessert was not great either. The toppings and sides (fruit, ice cream, puree) were good but the opera cake itself tasted like a matcha kit kat. Not impressed. I might give this place one more try to try the actual sushi and not a set but i honestly prefer sushi from places like sushi california rather than the sushi I had here at Miku. Also, I did get a terrible stomach ache afterwards. I think it was because of that middle nigiri piece because that's the only piece my sister did not eat out of the entire meal and she felt fine. Wasn't expecting this from a high end japanese restaurant. The service was great though and our server was very kind. But overall, not too good.
Not sure why the waitress decided to recommend sea bass sashimi, but we went with it since we never tried it. It was bland, dry and has no flavor or fat at all. I'm convinced she has never tried it and just recommend the most expensive thing on the menu. The Kuushi sushi they served us were so flat and skinny, they rinsed off all the sea water on it so there was no salt water flavor at all. The ceviche also pretty bland, but the rest of the sashimi and sushi were pretty good, not good enough to make up for the bad experience.
Returned here today for a lunch date. Food is still tasty and the view by the window was beautiful. An extra star taken away because hair was pulled out of the mashed potatoes. The server was informed and later a manager came by explaining that it looked like a piece of thread from a sweater that was in the air and landed there. That didn’t seem plausible to me, but I didn’t want to further debate over what the inedible object was, or how it got there. An apology would do, but we were just given an excuse. Too bad, because in my previous visits, the service here was quite good as well. Update: I was contacted by Miku and my concern was addressed in a professional and personable manner. It really reflected their usual high standard. Quite impressed, and can’t help, but will be returning again here.
Honestly disappointed. I came here expecting great things. Made a reso at but ended up having to wait 15 minutes anyways. Huh? Also, while the food was unique it's not the level of fine dining that matches the price. Ways to improve would be to tighten up service and provide some higher quality to match the price. View is spectacular though.
EXTREMELY expensive. However the sushi is top notch and unmatched in terms of quality in the Vancouver area. Definitely recommend.
The best sushi ever! The salmon one is highly rated and the rave reviews are definitely worth it. It just melted in our mouth and the flavors just exploded taking us to food heaven. My vegetarian wife tried one and loved it too. She didn't think it was fishy to taste. The vegetarian sushi was quite good too. The showstopper was the fantastic green tea opera. 7 layer cake loaded with different layers that somehow went so well together. The hazelnut wafer just melted in my mouth. Amazing way to end birthday dinner!
Great Sushi Restaurant, Top Notch Service & Nice View. I recommend making a reservation, while social distancing is in effect.
Best Japanese food in Vancouver, professional service and fantastic environment! I always order the Miku Zen, and their Salmon Oshi Sushi is particularly delicious. It does get busy so get there early if you don't have a reservation, or just make a reservation to save yourself the wait.
Best Aburi style sushi I’ve had in Vancouver. Their food has exceptional flavors and they provide amazing service. Good for special occasions, Went there for my birthday and it was worth the price. Craving it all the time now.
This is one of the best sushi restaurants in Vancouver. This place is always busy and you should call ahead for a reservation. The Aburi sushi is a specialty of this restaurant. The cocktail choices are also very good. I can also recommend the shrimp cocktail.
Presentation > taste. It’s really okay. You are not missing out. Great view and ambiance but sushi is really nothing special. I tried many of the nigiris and they had some interesting combos. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit here. I much prefer smaller Japanese’s owned restaurants for a cozier experience with equally great sushi. Out of everything I tried I liked the dessert at the end the best… I think that summarizes the place pretty much.
We ordered delivery through ubereats and it was amazing sushi!! We ordered the Sumire Platter and it was delicious! Mouth watering! We wanted to dine-in but opted for delivery because of time-constraint. Price was reasonable, well-within the budget! Highly recommended!
Miku was a good sushi restaurant. The service we had was tremendous. We just felt like the sushi didn’t taste as amazing as we were hoping. The sashimis were fresh, but yet there was a little something missing. The wild salmon sashimi didn’t taste so nice. The oysters we had as appetizer were good, but overpriced when compared to other restaurants we have been for the same quality (e.g. Blue Water Cafe’s oysters were better and cheaper). Since this is the best rated sushi restaurant in Vancouver, I would probably go back, but I would wish for the food to be more outstanding considering their standing.
Got the premium lunch set. A few pieces tasted the (boujee!) price and the rest of them just tasted alright, nothing too special. I was disappointed after seeing such great reviews - maybe I'm just not that into expensive sushi!
Excellent fresh flavourful sushi lunch. The lunch shokai offered a nice sampling variety of sushi. The petit green tea opera dessert was a great finish to the memorable meal. The service was very attentive.
Great sushi! Highly recommend the surf and turf roll. Friendly service.
Lunch
Everything was delicious and hit the spot. They have some very unique items on the menu worth trying. With Covid they had excellent barriers in place and social distancing. The service was excellent and the atmosphere is visually appealing.
Went for New Year's Eve dinner and as always, Miku did not disappoint. It wasn't their fault but due to COVID restrictions, Bonnie Henry just announced no alcohol after 8:00pm so luckily we reserved our table at 7:00pm. We decided to go with the Waterfront Kaiseki for $88 which included 5 dishes. We started off with their hamachi crudo, chef's selection sashimi, baked saikyo miso sablefish, miku signature sushi selection and ended with their green tea opera. Everything was delicious and experience was top notch as always. As I've been here many times, the experience never gets old and the service is always a big reason why I come back. I will definitely come back when the restrictions get better as the waterfront view never disappoints!
Beautifully presented and well made sushi in a modern dining room graced with a gorgeous view of the north shore mountains and the cruise ship terminal. Helpful and knowledgeable staff were attentive and the food arrived quickly. Will definitely return.
Excellent variety and exceptional taste. Customer service was also fantastic.
Lovely place, one of the best aburi sushi is served here!
Booked a table for 7 one week ago, confirmed with staff that we would be able to be seated on two tables. 2 hours before the dinner they emailed to let us know that they would be unable to seat us. Extremely disappointing considering we plan dinners in advance and we are notified of this only 2 hours before dinner which makes it difficult to rebook elsewhere.
Always enjoyed meals here; courteous staff & attentive service. But this time is a bit disappointed with the really salty rice underneath the sable fish. The fish was very good though.

Went for my wife's birthday and the food was on point. We had the Kids and it was well worth it. I loved how they bring out the flavour in the ingredients by not overpowering with sauce.
Friends and I have been loyal customers for years and spent a fortune here. Customer service tonight, including management intervention, was so shockingly appalling we will never eat here again. Ever. Sad to see another Vancouver landmark go down the drain.
