This Restaurant is classified in the category of Italian restaurant.
Charming atmosphere and attentive service, however, the food was just a bit so so. I had high expectations after reading yelp reviews but not a chance I'll return.
My wife took me here for a birthday dinner. Fantastic spot. Felt like an old house converted into a restaurant with all sorts of little nooks and crannies to situate a table and have a nice and dare I say, very romantic dinner. The food was great and overall a very nice evening.
Wonderful service and they have gluten free pasta! We went there for our anniversary dinner and it was perfect!
Very cute inside. This is a house-turned-restaurant with a cozy interior feel. Our server knew the menu well and listed off the specials in an impressive manner. This would be a nice spot for a larger party events, as they have a ground-level floor and an upstairs that is easily sectioned off. Prices are higher, but quality matches. They have many menu options and everything I tried I enjoyed. I want to return for a dessert in the near future.
Excellent service. Reservations are a must. Parking can be tricky.
The restaurant is in a petite heritage home in Yaletown. It's such a beautiful space. I enjoyed the ambiance and mature service. The food was fresh and flavourful. I had a smoked chicken ravioli.
holy cow !!!!!!!! mmmmm!!!! One of my favourite Italian restaurants in the whole wide world !!! my amazing boyfriend and I came here once and the food here knocked off our SOCKS! hahaha wowowwww My fav was truffle spaghetti it feels nice My amazing boyfriend enjoyed some special fish thank you
Service is pretty good. Flavour is well balanced and ingredients are fresh. Around$ 30-50 per person.
Excellent capresse! A little pricey for portion.
Excellent food, wine and service. Highly recommended. Had a private room with 10 place table.
The location was nice. When entering the building, the host who greeted us was very friendly and immediately knew who the reservation was for and where to seat us. The anti pasta dishes were great and the dishes came within a reasonable time. Unfortunately that's where the great service ends. The server offered bread but forgot and had to be reminded 10 minutes later to bring it. On top of that the waiter was unprofessional and seemed upset to repeat the daily specials when asked. When asking to split the bill, he once again seemed irritated to the inconvenience. Lastly, the waiter was looming over me while I was paying the bill. If your service is good as a waiter, why feel the need to intimidate the customers to give you a good tip?
Incredible food and service, one of the best restaurants in Vancouver!
Great food with attentive wait staff
Definitely a unique place to go for dinner, the house converted restaurant has a very intimate atmosphere. The appetizers include varying pieces of cheese; we enjoyed the Parmesan souffle. There were a few options for vegetarian pastas which are very filling and delicious. Some of the best mashed potatoes I’ve ever tasted, would recommend them to anyone! For desert we got the Crema brûlée and it was a fine end to the meal. For some reason the desert menu isn’t online but they do have dessert. Also there aren’t any cocktails just glasses of wine, which there is a wide variety of. We went on a Monday night and it was still quite busy so best to make a reservation if going here.
never dissapoint with the food in here , but seem a bit busy
"""Not really that authentic Italian fare...many of the dishes doesn't seem Italian at all. The beef capaccio was ridiculously thin that you can't even pick up. Over all a pleasant place, but the food is just so so!"""
Authentic and delicious!
Classy, Sophisticated and Memorable in every way ... perfect for pre-theatre dinner being steps from Queen Elizabeth, or for that special family occasion. Not in the first date price range, more of a night you tell your parents you're engaged kind of place. One of us had the roasted quail, the other the Tagliatelle Nero with prawns, and the wine selection is beautiful too.
Fabulous is really all that is needed to describe this restaurant. Went there for a "white truffle" dinner with family and was not disappointed, the service was friendly and attentive, the suggestions made by our server contributed to a wonderful dining experience. Have to go back! Apparently they will have true Perigord black truffles in December. Can't wait

Tonight was our third time having dinner at Lupo restaurant. We don't live downtown so it is a special treat for us to come down and we have really enjoyed Lupo in the past. The food here is incredible and tonight was no exception. The Halibut was unbelievable. However I left a 2-star rating because the server was so terrible tonight. He insulted us for ordering bread with oil and vinegar stating that in his opinion you only add vinegar to oil if you are trying to cover the taste of a poor quality olive oil. We have been served bread with oil and vinegar each time we have come in the past so it was a confusing and insulting statement. My husband and I both finished our water before the end of our meals and were never offered a refill. We both ordered a single glass of white wine which we also both finished around the middle of our dinner. Once again he never offered to bring us another glass. After we had already been sitting at an empty table with no wine no water and no food for several minutes we tried pushing our empty glasses to the edge of the table as a suggestion for a refill and the bill, still nothing. We tried both putting on our coats. And eventually we Stood Beside our table for about 3 minutes before finally grabbing a different server to bring our bill. Super disappointing as this was our 10-year anniversary dinner. We have had such good experiences at Lupo in the past and we expect more. I don't know if we will be back for this reason.
While my husband wasn't overly impressed with his meal, mine was fantastic! Plus they insisted on providing us with a sampling of their specialty ravioli (which was lovely) and my husband's meal was free. The service is exceptional and the restaurant itself, in a restored Victorian home, is beautiful!!
Excellent food, slow service, beautiful location
Came in with a reservation, but due to the size of the restaurant (which is actually a refurbished old house) it was quite packed with people waiting to be seated. Very tight seatings, but nonetheless loved the creative aesthetic and mood of the place. Had the wagyu carpaccio, sloppily presented with arugula, but tasted absolutely beautiful. Dry aged steak as well as the strawberry mango sorbet were also unforgettable. Looking forward to coming back.
Celebrated my birthday here in a group of 6. The food was amazing and service was fantastic. Good selection of wine and the staff usually have a good knowledge of what wine to pair with food.
I liked how the restaurant is inside an old fashion renovated house. Not your typical building. Food was fantastic. But be prepared to pay a lot.
Best Italian in town, great venue and the food is delicious, but expensive
Food was very tasty!
The food all the food was good. Good place for a date or quiet meal.
very good restaurant, food is very tasty, save it for romantic dates or for special occasions
We had dinner here yesterday and had such a great time because of or server, Spencer. He was fun to be around, easy going, professional. Would come back again just for the amazing service and food!
excellent food. above average service for the price ratio. their homemade bread was really good. great pasta and salad.
Came for my wife's birthday. We changed reservations last minute and Lupo accommodated the change and delivered excellent service and food
Lovely experience for dinner! We had a really nice blonde girl as our server (sorry forgot your name but nails were really pretty!). Service was great, food & drinks were delicious and high quality!
Excellent, delicious food, great service
Fantastic Italian food and service
Excellent food, excellent service
Great service. Even better food.
The pasta seemed manufactured / not made in house. But the rest of our mains were pretty good. Definitely not good value though. For the price would expect better. Friendly service. Great wine list.
Went for my wife’s birthday. Very good!!
Lupo offers an excellent Italian dining experience in Yaletown. It offers both pre-theatre prixe fixe and a la carte menus containing traditional pasta dishes, as well as antipasta, salads, meats, and fish. The portion sizes are generous without being obscene. The beverage list heavily skews wine (with tasting, glass, flights, and bottles), with a couple beers and a few cocktails. The restaurant occupies an intimate Victorian style house, with fireplaces and a modern, rotating collection of art. Service is top notch, skilled but not in the least bit stuffy.
The menu has lots of variety which is great. There is something for almost anyone. We got the Pappardelle, Short Rib and Gnocci. The Gnocci was very bland. Nothing really special about the flavor. The short rib was very tender, but again nothing amazing. The Papardelle was ok as well. The vegetables that came with the short rib were so so salty. The food was okay. If I had paid $20 for that meal I'd have been happy but the fact is that I feel like I overpaid so much for the food. I'm not sure what I'm paying for really...the ambience? The waiting staff were amazing though. They helped us navigate the menu and order a combination of foods so we could sample a variety. I think restaurants like Lupo either need to step up their game in terms of the food they serve and offer up something unique or stop charging an arm and a leg for food that many many other restaurants serve as well. Stop playing it safe.
Complex flavours beautifully executed. Excellent service. And you can actually hear your dinner companions and you don't have to shout to be heard - something of a rarity in restaurants these days.
Dined here with a friend and while the food was certainly fine, there was nothing remarkable about our experience and nothing we would be sprinting back for. The wild prawns didn’t come with any sauce/dressing and were thus bland, the wagyu carpaccio was good, and the gnocchi bolognese was fine, again, nothing extraordinary. The table across from us had a child running around and watching TV shows on their iPad, obviously not the restaurants fault (understandably children are a wild card), but lack of action on their part certainly didn’t cultivate an intimate and refined environment. The food is fine, and the setting is fine, but nothing was particularly outstanding during our visit.
Chef tasting was amazing... Thank you Lubo for being a wonderful cook
Meal type
The best unknown restaurant in Vancouver!
Amazing food, great staff. And a nice cozy place for the cities best Italian food. 5 stars.
Food was mediocre for the price. Staff were a little rude.
The food here is exquisite, the atmosphere elegant, classy and understated, and the service is friendly and respectful. I don't generally give five stars, because there's always room for improvement, but...this one's figured it out. Have eaten here a few times, haven't come across a menu item that wasn't fantastic.
Very delicious.
Wonderful Italian restaurant. On holiday from Melbourne (Aus) and found Lupo was close to our hotel. The meal was excellent, as was the service. Would recommend to anyone who appreciates nice food.
Delicious
Perfect venue for a romantic evening. My now husband took me on a date here years ago and I just remembered that it was so romantic and that the food was delicious. We recently went back and the same remains! The service was above and beyond with our server being so friendly and attentive to us and actually making helpful suggestions! The pasta dishes were prepared excellently and the appies were awesome. Our favorite thing is actually the fresh made focaccia, it takes 15 mins to arrive because they make it to order and it is to die for. I really love a place with consistently good food and great service whether it's a special evening or just a regular dinner out. Lupo is just that and we really enjoy it.
One of the best restaurants in town. Their special of the night was he sablefish and it was amazing! The chicken & truffle linguini seems very common, but it's a must try! Customer service was great, if you have a little party to be held, ask for the table upstairs.
Best seafood risotto i have tasted so far. The broth is a well salted bouillabaisse, but shrimp and scallops are cooked so perfectly that the name of the dish cannot appreciate the actual flavour of the dish

Dinner
Wow. "Could you please tell the chef that was the best meal I've ever had?" Located inside of a house, this restaurant has history and has talent in the kitchen. I visited Lupo a few days ago with my boyfriend and his parents. I've heard really good things about Lupo in passing, so my expectations were high. They didn't disappoint. The staff was friendly, and the setting was lovely and intimate. No loud music, just a pleasant atmosphere for a lovely dinner. We had a hard time choosing from the menu because everything sounded so appealing. Then the waiter comes by, lets us know the specials for the day, and sends us back to square one. We finally settled on the Tagliatelle Nero, that at the moment, was serving with Canadian Lobster and prawns on squid ink pasta. This was my boyfriend's dad's favourite dish, maybe ever. We also got a couple specials for the day, namely the Veal chop and the Vongoli pasta, and paired it with the Cab Sav from Lupo. Let's just say there were no leftovers, and we all left with a giant grin on our face. Lupo, you guys are killing it, and we can't wait to come again!
Best food we had in Vancouver and that is high praise!
This is quite a late review, as we attended this restaurant about two years ago but thought I would leave my thoughts anyways. The food was excellent. The service was also amazing. We were indecisive about a starter and the waiter was patient and even gave us something to try. Highly recommend this place to anyone who values good service and high quality food.
It was a long time since we dined at Lupo, the restaurant serves fantastic food! Chef Julio has a great team of Chefs and staff that prepare delicious dishes. I highly recommend you go for a wonderful experience. Definitely a restaurant to put in your list. Bon Apetit!
Exquisite food and great service. Bravi????
First of all, the food and service was great. Foie gras sauce was a little bit sweet and paired with jam, which nicely made the liver taste not as strong. The pasta vongole had fresh clams and parsley, super flavorful. We have also had a delicious veal special with a mini quiche ($62 I think?) and a lamb shank with risotto. Salad, however, was rather small and simple for $19, and I think the focaccia was a better deal and tastier. Seeing them both on the table made me wish I had not ordered the salad. Crème brûlée was one of the best I have ever had, which was so creamy almost like caramel. I liked the warm almond cake with gelato as well but not as much. Besides food, I liked the overall ambiance which felt like a welcoming and warm house with style. And it was not super dark so you could take photos for food. Also liked they provided hand towels instead of onetime use paper towel in the bathroom.
Always a great time at Lupo. Friendly, helpful staff. COVID-19 safety precautions in place. Amazing food as always!
Nice layout of the place. Bad service. Overpriced food. Never coming back. Expected so much because of the good reviews on open table. Nooope. Server didn't seem like she cared at all. Would be nice as well to at least mention that the bread costs something.
Excellent dishes, excellent service,$$$$
A nice, elegant but not too posh italian restaurant with good food in Yaletown.Only a small complaint-was not offered parmeggiano for my spaghetti and had to ask.
Classy restaurant. Good service. The food was tasty.
Always amazing
Services it's awsome , restaurant it's super clean and comfortable cozy atmosphere but sadly dinner food portions not enough
Came here to shoot for DoorDash and got treated to a wonderful dinner. The Spaghettini Pomodoro was classic and flavorful - I basically inhaled it. And the Tiramisu cake was one of the fluffiest tiramisu I've had to date! Wonderful and hospitable owner that really cares about what goes out in every dish and delivery! Will definitely be supporting them throughout the closures
Fantastic service and best pasta in town, period.
Anyone rich or poor should visit this place at least one in their life. Food is out of this world unfortunately I couldn’t afford their pricey drink so I can’t comment. Staff are great and my girl friend loved it. However the staff kept on question more than 9 times about the food nothing wrong but we want to enjoy our meal and talk.
My girlfriend and I went here the other day. Their focaccia bread was absolutely insane how good it is, easily the best ever! Their Taglierini was amazing! My girlfriend had their Gnocchi Di Ricotta and also thought it was amazing. Highly recommend!!
Great food and very kind staff.
The food and service here are amazing. We celebrated the return to indoor dining last night and as always, enjoyed a fabulous dinner. This place never disappoints.
Always order the specials!
Our favorite place to eat when in Vancouver! Never anything but amazing food, the friendliest service, and a great time. Always a highlight of the evening; can’t recommend enough!
Always great! Food is amazing, ambience is cute, staff are friendly and knowledgeable.
Our waiter I believe was the owner and he was super friendly. He had great vegan options for me, and the food was incredible. It's a very nice small restaurant.
Absolutely amazing I’m blown away. Food was better than you could ever anticipate. Service was friendly, professional and fast. Highly recommend. Best cannelloni and creme brûlée’s I’ve ever had
Fantastic Italian food and great service. Everyone was very accommodating. The food was fresh and stellar. Very cute place - basically feels like eating in someone's house!
We went to here for an anniversary and it was one of the best meals we've had in a long time
Great food and service for our birthday dinner. Pricey but worth it!
Lupo guest wifi available with password Reservations are recommend, the interior looks like someone’s home in an upscale fashion Ordered the beets to start, gnocchi and the mushroom pasta and the tiramisu for dessert Great service and food was delicious, will be back!
Food excellent, staff delightful. Ambience a-plus. Perhaps a little loud when busy, despite acoustic panels. Definitely pricey, definitely superb.
This place has wonderful service as well as delicious food. One of the best place ever. The food and drinks arrived quickly and the rates were affordable. I recommend this place.
Wow the food is amazing! The staff is amazing!
Excellent ambiance & outstanding service along with delicious food!
We went there last night and had to go back tonight. The food, staff and wine was one of the best meals of my life!
Great food, great service, would definately come here again!
Ambiance is amazing, the restaurant is in an old mansion and has been converted to a great dining space. Service was great, if anything too much. Server was very knowledgeable and memorized around 5 features with all the details. Good job! Meat and pasta were cooked well, great presentation. Smaller portion sizes. We did not have wine but a really expansive wine list with lots of variety.
Very tasty and reasonably priced food. Cool location in a heritage home.
We've been here several times and they never disappoint! They keep reinventing the menus and they get better every time!
Service
Best Italian I have had in years. The restaurant is based in a cool old historic building, and the food will not disappoint. All wait staff and management were amazing as well. You will not regret making this reservation!
Made a reservation for our anniversary here having never visited before, we made some requests regarding seating, and were very pleased and grateful with how they were handled! I also managed to accidently change our booking the day of, hours before our dinner! After some frantic attempts to contact the restaurant prior to their opening, I was relieved to find out that they had fixed my reservation within minutes of opening. The dining experience was very nice, staff were friendly and the restaurant had a cozy atmosphere. We had a wonderful glass of wine, an antipasti, and two primi dishes, with portion sizes that exceeded our expectations, will definitely be returning, Thankyou!
Amazing food and selection, lots of specials. There were so much to choose from. And great service. We were actually taken care of very nicely. The food came out faster than expected too! Love the small house atmosphere. Not loud and noise. A great date spot! Will come again!!!
Awsome food and atmosphere
One of my favorite restaurants in Vancouver. I come here at least once a year. Whether it be a casual night with friends or a date night, Lupo never fails. I would reccomend the pasta with fresh shaved truffle, the sable fish, the burrata salad and the stuffed squid. Tonight's special was a stuffed pasta with brasied shirt rib, however, most dishes are quite excellent.
I have been to Lupo twice now and it has always exceed my expectations. Nice casual atmosphere with great wait staff and first class service. The cuisine is first rate and the overall experience was first class.
From the moment you walk in, the entire staff is there to make your experience perfect. The decor is cozy and clean. The entire dinner selection was perfection. Enjoyed every taste.
Had dinner for the first time in three years. I remembered the meal I had was very good. Sorry to say that this time I was not happy with the overall experience. The grilled stuffed calamari was fine but the pasta with rabbit ragout was a disappointment. The ragout sauce was somehow overly sweet and the pasta was overcooked and soft. Portion was good but I could not finish as the sauce was so sweet. The restaurant was cosy with nice atmosphere, service was friendly and attentive. However the tables were laid out very close to each other I had to pay attention not getting bumped into by the servers every time they briskly walk by our table. Not a very enjoyable and relaxing dinner experience.
The food was to die for: don't sleep on the mushroom penne
We just had dinner here for my boyfriends 25th birthday and we had an exquisite dining experience. Unfortunately I didn’t grab my servers name but she and Moe both were absolutely wonderful and provided us with friendly, fast and attentive service. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, with an excellent wine list. The food was beautiful and tasted just as good as it looked and we also got a bit of a treat before and after our meal!! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening out, it was incredibly enjoyable. We will definitely be back.
Had a delightful birthday dinner here. Staff was really friendly and the food was delicious. We had a great little spot by a window upstairs which was very nice too.
Very very pricey compare to the quality of food you get!
Great Italian restaurant. The converted a Victorian home into a restaurant. Feels as if you are sitting in someone’s living room and having a home cooked meal. Food is excellent, the ribeye was perfectly cooked to medium rare and the fettuccine was delicious. I would suggest not getting the meatballs as they were just regular. We were a group of four and had everything family style which worked well for us. Service was amazing and the wait staff were on top of everything. Highly recommend.
The wolf lived up to its name, fierce it is nice place that does well what does which is serve an Italian style cuisine.
An awesome authentic Mexican restaurant. Don't walk by this one. Worth making a separate trip for dinner. If there is a line - wait or put your name in and walk around and see the sights. Prices seem reasonable though it does get busy during peek dining hours.

I forgot my server name, but it was a tall bald Caucasian man. I clearly and discreetly told him it's a birthday for my wife, and to do something special for her like bring a dessert with candle or sing a song etc he said: " ok, no problem".... He didn't do any of that, just handed us the bill. Was majorly embarrassed. Edit: I also want to add that our group of five bill was $1,000 plus $200 tip. We tipped generously as we were anticipating until the very last moment that our server would deliver a surprise birthday gesture. My squid ink pasta with lobster was overcooked. The food quality does not match the price tag. Go Giardino instead.
Disappointing experience. Yesterday we had our date night with my husband. I made reservation 2 days before on Open Table with note “special date night. Looking forward to visit your restaurant ”. When we arrived I was disappointed to have the worst table (near the entrance door) where walk-ins were seated later. We didn’t feel welcome and our server was not friendly at all. Despite all bad experience with service, we want to thank kitchen for delicious meals (especially Veal osso buco) and beautiful presentation. Unfortunately, I doubt we would come back.
The food was excellence, also great wine selection.
Been there 3 times now and am craving it once again. Had the pleasure of eating in the wine cellar and loved the experience. The wine knowledge was amazing as well. Cannot wait to go back!
Prices are a little steep, but the atmosphere is perfect for a romantic night out on a special day. Service and food quality are commendable. We all remember where Pike proposed to Caprice in Shadowblaze's Epicsaga books, and if you want to replicate a proposal like that, this is a perfect place to do so.
Great spot, amazing food.
Fantastic food and service!!
Amazing food and service. I highly recommend if you are looking for a special night out for dinner
Buratta cheese, grilled octopus, focaccia, vitello tonnato and truffle fettuccine were all amazing.
Food quality varied. Great Sable, professionally cooked, but glaze tasted did not compliment the fish. Appetizers were not praise worthy, but not doused in one particular ingredient. In short there's better food around for a better price.
I love this place!!! The decor, the feeling of a house, intimate, and the food, absolutely amazing. Service was top notch, love the selection of red wines (so many wines from Tuscany) and overall 10/10. The price is definitely higher than other places but worth every penny. Please try the sable fish as well, mouth watering!!
Good food, overpriced, squeezed spaces.
Simply put, exquisitely delicious.
awesome food but incredibly noisy restaurant couldnt hear ourselves speak. Not the place for an intimate dining experience. Tables are very close together and jammed in.
Delicious, Great food and service
The Wagyu Beef Carpaccio had a little bit too much salt and sauce but it was still really yummy and I would definitely order it again. The Fettuccine was el Dante which is not my personal liking but it was very yummy. The Lamb Shank was very tender and fell off the bone, it comes with risotto but it was undercooked. The 12 oz. Prime Ribeye was really good, the mashed potatoes it came with have ginger inside. The crème brûlée was yummy but I was expecting it to be a little bit different, it was in a wide but shallow dish and it was not custard like as I thought it would be. Everything was a quite a good portion especially the lamb shank and pasta. We were very full by the end and we took our meat dishes home. They also had off menu items. The service was good. I would come here again and like to try out other dishes. There are lots of tables inside. The building is what looks like a house turned restaurant. Unfortunately there was a very loud table on our right side, and a constant foot tapper on our left
ok service - seems like we got ignored several times pay parking on streets good food good ambiance /romantic/ special occasion good food, really enjoyed most of the dishes fine dining prices if i had to choose 1 dish: black cod and creme brulee for dessert would i go back? yes, for special occasion

Came here for a birthday dinner. We really liked the homey atmosphere, it felt like going to your grandma's place to eat. The food was exceptional, with well balanced and traditional flavours. My favourite was the roasted beet salad, with warm goat cheese and the braised short rib ravioli.
No taste from the truffles but some of the other dishes were okay.
Hands down the best Italian restaurant in the city! Service is impeccable, and food quality is fresh and consistent. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. Favourite dishes are bufula mozzarella and the paparadelle. The only thing is that parking in the area is tricky. I've dined with their main dining area and the group room upstairs (before COVID). Highly recommend and worth the bill!
I love Lupo. Best date place ever.
Food was amazing, great selection of drinks and service was fantastic as usual. Lupo continues to impress us from start to finish. Highly recommend.
Food was good, but not sure if it's worth the price. Didn't "wow" me.
Saw the great ratings online and decided to try this place out for a graduation dinner. I must say that the high ratings were well earned. Probably the best Italian restaurant I have been to. The staff were very welcoming and the ambiance was relaxed and classy. But the quality of the food was where it really shined. My beef short rib ravioli was phenomenal and everyone else raved about their dishes. It may be on the pricy side but it is worth the extra cost. Highly recommended if you are looking for a special dinner in downtown Vancouver.
Great service and great food. Excellent wine selection. Little different to everything else
Amazing service. Amazing food. This place is so beautiful. One of the best places I’ve eaten in a long time.
Beautiful fine dining experience. Incredible service and delicious food. Great for dates and special occasions
Home-y vibe is a nice touch, wine selection is vast and the portion sizes are extremely fair. Worth the price, just make sure you reserve a table as they get busy fast!
Love the chicken and chip! Great value.
Quaint restaurant located in downtown Vancouver. We came by to try their 4-course group menu "Maremma" on a weekend, and was pleasantly surprised by the level of detail they put in each dish. Octopus carpaccio was a pleasant surprise - nice sweet sauce accompanied the octopus tentacle that was thinly sliced. Not a common dish found in Vancouver. The highlight of the night was the Sablefish dish, which was well executed; juicy and tender, yet really flavorful. The tenderloin was grilled to taste too. Really loved the gnocchi - it was the traditional type made with ricotta cheese instead of potatoes. Dessert-wise, I would have hoped for a better balance on the creme brulee - the creme was slightly shallow compared to the overly-thick layer of caramelized suga. Service was excellent, attentive staff made sure dishes were served / presented at their finest.
Not so much a fan of Italian food, but my image of this place was actually quite good.I personally did like beef, they are always my last choice but I was totally into Lupo’s beautifully cooked steak. Really really delicious and I already recommended to my frds. Btw, this place is very small and usually full of ppl,not recommend to a group that more than 6.
Have been wanting to go here for a while a finally made it and was not disappointed. Excellent service and great food. Told the waiter what we didn't like and asked him to pick a few dishes to share. He did a great job and we ventured into some areas different than the old Italian stand by's which we would have selected. It's not cheap, but in this case you get what you pay for and I thought it was good value. Nice atmosphere, great food and service. I should also note that I was surprised by another reviewers comment regarding a $150+ bottle of wine. I told the waiter what I liked and told him I was leaning to a $56 bottle. He suggested a $52 bottle which was excellent... and there was much variety in that range. Overall a great experience and recommended.
Always an absolutely phenomenal experience. My boyfriend and I go here for special occasions. Their food is delicious and the waiters are incredibly personable and professional. They always go the extra mile. Just a small heads up to those with disability/mobility issues, the hallways are quite tight and the bathrooms are up a winding staircase.
We have previously heard really good things about this place and finally decided to try it yesterday. For food, we ordered the ribeye steak and halibut (daily special). Both food were exceptional and tasted really good. However, the atmosphere was something left to be desired. The place was incredibly noisy to the point hearing the person next to me was an issue. Further, I did not feel safe covid wise as there was just too many people sitting way too closely. Overall, food was great, atmosphere wasn't.
Great food & service. The restaurant is super cozy and cute, perfect for date nights.
Had an excellent first date here! We shared a pasta dish and the lamb/risotto - I would suggest that this is a good way to use the menu (share one primi and one secondi). The restaurant brought us the split pasta dish and the tender, fall-off-the-bone lamb with two plates. They really nailed the risotto too - the texture was perfect and my nose caught the subtle freshly ground nutmeg. No first date is complete without dessert. We got the tiramisu which was fluffy and soft. Literally perfect, if you wanna impress your date you should check this place out!
Great meal, but it's always great. Creative, modern Italian.
Service is great and food is good too! But I'd definitely expect much better food and maybe more unique experience from a fancy and very expensive restaurant. We ordered 4 starters and not even one person liked theirs, main course and the presentation was good though.
Wow, what an absolutely amazing place to grab italian food in vancouver. Food is perfect, ambiance is great, wine list is varied and delicious, service is awesome too. Definitely come here for a meal!!!
Fantastic dining experience from start to finish. Italian flavours presented in a contemporary way. Every bite was better than the last.
The food, service, and atmosphere were great. There are a lot of stairs. Which is fine unless someone in your group has difficulty with stairs.
Fabulous is really all that is needed to describe this restaurant. Went there for a "white truffle" dinner with family and was not disappointed, the service was friendly and attentive, the suggestions made by our server contributed to a …
My girl friends and I had our annual Christmas dinner at Lupo yesterday and loved it. The food was delicious, service attentive and the ambiance cozy and intimate. Even though the restaurant was full, the noise level was just moderate. No need to shout to be heard - very nice, unlike some other restaurants in town (ie. Hawksworth and Cincin). We tried lots of their dishes, including their Fettuccine with chicken, lamb ragout penne special, duck ragout pappardella. All yummy with fresh pasta. We also ordered two of their mains: beef shortrib and a veal t-bone special. Shortrib was perfectly cooked (pretty standard) but the veal t-bone was amazing. Remember to order the Foccacia bread, I believe it's a signature side for them. Very good. We all said we would totally go back to this restaurant.
Amazing food great service. We had the wine room which was very private.
My beautiful and thoughtful girlfriend took me there on Saturday December 14th for my birthday. I am not one to go to fine dining but I had told her that just once in my life I wanted to pretend to be rich and look down on society. She made reservations and our first mistake was parking in front of Lupo's by the hotel as it was $26 for the rest of the night. Started off the night with 3 Meatballs that were definitely not worth the $20+ price with the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio and that was simple but tasteful. I had the Fettuccine pasta and it was disappointing or at least not worth the money as it was very basic and bland. She had the Taglierini pasta and her choice was actually pretty delicious. We had 2 glasses of wine that was an extra $8 per glass compared to other restaurants for a very similar wine. In total the bill was about $170 + tip. Now that I have looked down on the rest of society by eating at an upscale Italian restaurant I don't believe it was quite what I was expecting. I have ate better at other Italian Restaurants that are not as expensive like Italian Kitchen so I would say that this restaurant was more of the experience of eating in an old house or just the status of saying, "I ate at Lupo's" than the taste in the food. The service was exceptional but the taste did not meet the expectation for the value of the food.
The food is good I mean the Caesar salad was amazing and so was the pasta however the three stars is because honestly if they are trying to be a high and restaurant the waiters need to look the part the dress code is just dismal and looks really bad and the restaurant is loud, just found the service lacking
I was really excited to try Lupo with my husband for a special occasion. While service was top notch, I found the experience a little underwhelming. The food was good but not any a cut above some other establishments we have tried. We had the burrata which was seasoned beautifully. The octopus was not as expected. We both got the features, fish and veal osso buco. They were very generous with the protein. The fish had many little components which were delightful; some sort of yellow sauce, many varieties of veggies, a beautiful sear on it. The osso buco flavour tasted like it could be made at home, kind of like a beef stew. I thought it would be better. Surprisingly my favorite part of the meal was the dessert. The gelato was wonderful. All in all, it was a good experience but not stellar as I was expecting from the multitude of reviews.
Amazing food and service loved this place
Amazing service. Amazing food. This place is so beautiful. One of the best places I’ve eaten in a long time.
Not a great restaurant. Heard reviews and was expecting a traditional Italian experience and instead got underwhelming appetizers (the “wagyu” beef carpaccio had almost no marbling, very flavourless. Definitely not real wagyu). The ricotta gnocchi was good but ruined by a bolognese that tasted like grocery store tomato sauce with ground beef. Server asked if we wanted parmesan for the pasta and we were given shredded parm that looked and tasted like Kraft. Overall, overpriced food and wine. Only had pasta and appetizers so not a full idea of what they offer. Curious to try other items as they have a great reputation but in no hurry to go back.
Walking up the steps into Lupo you get the impression of a freshly redone Victorian house. White walls hold pieces of abstract art. Tables are small and clustered together. The place feels crowded until you sit and begin your meal - suddenly you feel like you can tune out all the babble while at your own cozy table.
Cozy atmosphere, fantastic food and excellent friendly service. Definitely coming back soon.
I’ve been there several times and this time almost broke a tooth on a rabbit bone. It was in pasta and a tiny bone so I think they missed it but didn’t offer even a free dessert or free meal for that one and we had a birthday so at least one dessert could have been given. I think they need to say that if there could be bones then people would be more careful chewing. The tiramisu was also dry. Not my best experience there.
Delicious food and friendly environment
I had the chance to dine in the wine cellar. I made sure to leave a few bottles for other customers.
Best italian in Vancouver. Huge wine list!
One of the best meals I have had since Mamma's Fish House in Maui.
Decent food, beautiful presentation. Comfortable and cozy environment. Tiny portion for the price.
The restaurant has a very elegant ambiance and the service was very friendly and nice. One of the dishes that was really good was the foie gras and we really enjoyed it. It was creamy and smooth. The prices were a bit high for Vancouver but it is a fine dining restaurant.
Love love love this restaurant. Beautiful setting. Amazing food. Burrata starter is a must. Excellent staff. What's not to like? Great place to celebrate a special occasion. Highly recommend it.
Stellar experience as always. The pasta is sublime, the osso bucco delicious and the vension was superb. If you are up for a treat, ask them to pick the courses and wine accompaniment, you definitely won't be disappointed. Excellent wine selection!

Went here for an anniversary with my partner while we were in Vancouver for a concert. Upon arriving, the friendly host was quick to greet us and take our coats. We were quickly brought to our table and seated. The restaurant is a converted historic home so its a little small but well decorated and maintained. Our server was a little spotty at the start but the restaurant was full so it can be understood. The menu has a great selection of Italian food for and taste. The prices are high but it's definitely worth it. We each started with a pasta; I had the mushroom pasta and my partner the bolognese. Both were great. For mains, I ordered the braised short rib which was easily the best I've ever eaten. My partner had the ribeye and was equally impressed. For desert I has the creme Brule and my partner the blueberry pie. Again, both were fantastic. Overall, we both enjoyed our time and Lupo. I would highly recommend it and we will be back next time we're in town!
Dine in
Last night was the first time I had the pleasure of dining at this hidden gem. Amazing service, amazing food, and attention to detail. I will definitely be back.
Amazing food and experience! Staff was awesome!
I've been fortunate to eat here half a dozen times and each is memorable in its own right. Incredible food! Prepare to pay.
Delicious, Amazing experience for the Valentines day. Would recommend to anyone that has a good budget though.
Great service, great food, we had a wonderful time.
Best Italian in British Columbia, probably Canada.
I always come back to order the fettucine with black truffles and roast lamb. Don't forget to try their tiramisu!
Very cool building, great service. Came for drinks and appy. Will be back for a full meal as the entrees looked delicious.
Good flavours, good quality, and excellently served.
Absolutely and undoubtedly delicious food. The truffle Fettuccini on special❤️ The Sea Bass. The octopus. The tiramisu and grand Marnier creme brulee. 10/10 flavor and presentation. Polite, professional and friendly service. The timing of bringing out each dish was impeccable; the servers knew when you were ready for the next dish before you knew yourself! Lovely romantic and cozy ambience. Would definitely return again, it's a new favorite. They also have hygienic covid safety precautions.
Good Italian food! Open now with COVID precautions.
This is a favourite. We go one or twice and year and are never disappointed. Five stars on every account- the food, service, ambiance etc. I can't say enough nice things about this restaurant. It is a must if you haven't already been!
There was sand in my clams... But it was still a 5/5 star experience nonetheless. I would come back.
Returned to Lupo last night after probably about fourteen years. Such a treat to return to a place that has retained and perhaps exceeded its level of excellence after many years. The quality of the food, the level of service and the value for what we received left nothing to question. Don't know why we waited so long to return. Innovated twists on classic cuisine without pertenntions
Great service and spectacular food. The veal porterhouse was perfectly executed. Also recommend the carpaccio.
Old Mimmos in meyersdal...now a great venue...but far too expensive...R120 for two thin, skinny chicken breasts and a handfull of grilled veggies is simply a rip-off. Much better value at other restaurants in the same complex higher up...tried once but won't go back.
If I could give it ten stars I would! This restaurant has some of the best dishes around!!! I can't wait to go in person to their restaurant and have the food immediately from the kitchen instead of delivered! Love, love, love this place!
Excellent location. Excellent food. Excellent service. My wife's and my new favourite fancy place for celebrating stuff!
Very good. Hard to decide between 4 and 5 stars. Don't hesitate to go.
We aren’t used to this level of fancy so it was a really nice treat to eat here. We really enjoyed the calamari appetizer. The ambiance inside was great and the staff was knowledgeable about the menu
Love love the stunning artwork and the charm of the heritage house. Disappointed by the choice of music.....upbeat 80s and 90s era......just did not go at all with the sophistication of the dining experience, and detracted from the vibe. Classic jazz or cool lounge as background music would have been more fitting. Loved the tenderness of the short rib but found the sauce to be exceptionally salty. Service was great.
My girlfriend says this is the best steak house
Our favorite restaurant in Vancouver for special night out. The food and service are consistently excellent. We went here for our Valentines dinner last night and I'm still thinking about the food! The truffle fettuccine and the braised short rib were my personal favorites of the four course prefix menu. We had a romantic table near the fireplace and I loved the beautiful longstem red rose waiting at the table, very nice touch. Even though we only go two or three times a year Michael always remembers us and everyone there treats us like family. If you haven't discovered this gem, it's a crown jewel, make a point of eating here!
The sable fish is one of the best around! Too bad they ran out of the fresh baked bread!
Meal type
Always great food and service. A must visit when downtown.
It's been a long time since I've had dinner here and I'm never disappointed!
The restaurant is in an old house that has been converted into restaurant. As such there are a number of small rooms. The food is very good but not priced for every day meals. Our waiter was very helpful. We had to pay $5 for a basket of bread and there was not much bread in the basket. I guess it is better for the waistline but at this level of dining it seemed unusual.
The truffle pasta dish they usually have on special is to die for! They also have a good selection of Italian wines by the glass here.
Service
One of the best food what I have tried in Vancouver
We went there on a Saturday night, with a reservation at 8:00 pm and were seated after 5-10 minutes or so. A walkin couple was told there was a 1:30 wait at that time (they left). Food and service were great. My partner and I had the bread basket, an appetizer each (carpaccio for him, parmesan souffle for me), we skipped the primi and had an entree each (lamb for him, braised beef for me), and a dessert each (lemon and olive oil cake for him, dulce de leche creme brulee for me). It was a LOT of food, should have shared dessert, skipped the bread or shared the appetizer or a primi. It was quite pricey ($170 before tip, 1 beer included).
Amazing one of our faves
Dinner
Unique ambiance. Focused food menu and lengthy wine list. Fettuccini alfredo was excellent, succulent chicken with crispy finish and right amount of sauce. Lamb shank came off the bone nicely. Very tender. Service was excellent.
Been there 3 times now and am craving it once again. Had the pleasure of eating in the wine cellar and loved the experience. The wine knowledge was amazing as well. Cannot wait to go back!
One of the best Italian places. Expensive so definitely go for a special event. The food and service was top notch. My veal chop was actually a decent size for a yaletown spot.
One of our favorite dinners. Everything was absolutely delicious!
Great food and service for our birthday dinner. Pricey but worth it!
OMG! The truffle pasta is probably the best in town (on par with what you would get in Italy).
Great place for a date night. Incredible Italian food and super friendly staff
Excellent wine list, great service, beautiful server and excellent food. We ate, shared and enjoyed perfect service and a memorable experience as business colleagues. Nothing is cheap here but it will leave a lasting impression as a great meal top to bottom. Suggestion would be to split or have a half order of the Primi and a full of the Secondi with an appetizer and dessert of course!
Excellent food at this beautiful restaurant! My friends and I love to come to this place to eat and enjoy nice meals. Highly recommend it!
I took my girlfriend here for our anniversary, and we weren't disappointed. The service was fantastic, and the food was even better! It was definitely a memorable experience for both of us, and would definitely come again.
Ok food, lovely & interesting location, service and price pretentious.
Food was delicious but pricy. They even charge for bread! Not sure I would go back.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere
We booked the private dining room in the wine cellar. I can't say enough about our experience. From the food, the wine selection, the service, the ambience. Everything was perfect. Definitely one of my favorite fine dine restaurants in Vancouver. Can't recommend enough.
their food is amazing. Its a great place for an intimate date.
Food and service were incredible. Highly recommended.
Lived in Vancouver for 13 years and can't believe I haven't tried this place before. Food is top notch and service was great! Arguably the best pasta dish I've ever had.
The menu doesn't have too many options which is good because they have mastered each item in the menu. I tried Burrata salad to start and Mushroom pasta and was full already and no room for the main. But the pasta was AMAZING. It's a good idea if you get the anti pasti as a shared dish.
Excellent! Food, presentation, ambient!
upscale restaurant with great food and wine selections
We started with focaccia, which was amazing and is a must try! The cheesecake was also so tasty. The waiter was very helpful which made my experience enjoyable
Fantastic service and truly amazing food
Great dining and wine experience. Popped in here last minute with two work colleagues - they were accommodating. Service was smooth - helpful where you needed or wanted it. Good wine selection for all budgets and tastes. Appetizers were excellent - roasted baby beets, bufala mozzarella. Main were well paced and the perfect size - great flavours. Recommend and would go back.
This place is simply THE BEST place to eat Italian food in Vancouver!!! The service was outstanding, Brad was super friendly, the food is another level of deliciousness!!! The appetizers were out of this world, I had the fettuccini and I couldn’t believe how good it was! All desserts were delicious but, our favourite was the orange cake, you have to try it. I’m definitely going back ????
It was great dinner for me and husband! Awesome!!! I really enjoyed dinner time!
Best gluten free gnocchi ever.
Best place in Vancouver for a group dinner.
Korean food done with a Canadian flair! Clean, minimalistic layout. Nice sized appy's...tasty, not too big. Very fresh ingredients, nicely marinated meats and use of Korean style veg and spices. Main meat dishes...VERY LEAN, FLAVORFUL...AND GOOD SIZED PORTIONS. VERY NICE SURPRISE...A STEP ABOVE REGULAR WHITEHORSE ATTEMPTS AT 'CUISINE'!
Although this places has many things going for it, Wednesday night it missed it mark. To start no wine list, no big deal, but still. When we finally had our drink ordered, our server seemed more interested in bussing tables then talking to us about menu or explaining specials. After waiting 10 minutes we were more than ready to order food, only then were the specials were fired at us as if we were in our first day of boot camp. Not only were there 3 very complex specials, but there were delivered so quickly and aggressively we were unable to understand a word. The appetizers were a delight, the pasta was...well, ok. under-cooked linguini and over-cooked gnocchi were saved by the complex flavors and quality ingredients. I like to think the dessert would have been a shining star capable of turning the night around, I suppose we will never know as I sat there, my creme brule forgotten. To be fair the server was apologetic and gave us two wines on the house. Overall an ok service, ok food, and a missing dessert.
WAS THERE FOR MY 20TH BIRTHDAY DECEMBER 23RD/2000 CANT WAIT TO COME BACK FOR MY 41ST.
Staff were extremely friendly and so helpful. The food is incredible. Excellent atmosphere and a great dining experience
Quality Italian food and good service. Lovely pasta and black truffle. Cozy restaurant, but could get very noisy. Prices are fair for the food and services received.
Bad service. (Somehow my last review got deleted. :) There was no swearing and I wasn't being offensive. Just the truth. It was a 2-star review, now I wish you guys really think first before scraping other people's constructive feedback.)
Service and attention impeccable. Quiet and classy atmosphere set in an old heritage home. Food taste and quality well above expected. Will be back!
Love Italian food? Then you must visit
Food and drinks were amazing, quaint little restaurant, very intimate setting. Service was also top notch, highly recommended.
Excellent food and lovely dining experience.
Amazingly delectable food. Perfectly courteous and intuitive waiter. Great atmosphere within a simply decorated heritage house. Cannot wait to return!
What. an. ambiance. My best friend booked the private dining wine cellar for her thirtieth birthday a few days ago and it was just perfect. Low ceiling, romantic lighting. Though the servers were ever present to squeeze around our chairs in the small room in search of wine for other patrons, they were entirely unobtrusive and did not once break the warm and intimate vibe. I was not impressed by the food, but it wasn't a negative thing for me, either. I started with the wagyu beef carpaccio which was an admitted lowlight as carpaccio is my favourite food and I was looking forward to it in particular. The meat itself was lovely but I've never been served a carpaccio without an herbed bread or crustini to place it on, or without a flavour component like a pickled caper. I found it very, very bland, but the quality was undeniable. I then chose the ricotta Gnocci and.. also very, very bland. A very flat dish - a simple Chef Boyardee-esque tomato flavour. To be frank, I was very disappointed in it expecting some sort of complexity or herb element but at the same time I've been dieting and so the carb and cheese bomb still made my evening aha. I finished off with the cheesecake and it was fine. I cannot even remember the flavour. White chocolate? Macadamia? Caramel? It was good, but immediately forgettable. Saying that, though, as I looked around the table I saw various other beautiful dishes and I seemed to be the only one not impressed. I think I just happened to single out the blander items. My partner was blown away by his meal. I cannot remember what he started with for some reason but he chose the sable fish special and was damn near moaning. I do not like fish, full stop, but I tried a bite and it was amazingly buttery and perfectly seasoned. For his dessert he ended on the cheese platter and will not stop talking that goat cheese with the black top. I snuck more than a few bites from his platter - everything chosen was beautiful and decadent. Now for the wine! The server took note of our favourite wines and recommended us two bottles. The first was on the nose, but the second was a revelation. He nailed our preferences, and it was gorgeous on its own and in reference to the previous bottle. The server was great all around - a super attentive, classy gentlemen. My friend had an amazing time, raving about her meal, and I am extremely pleased with the overall experience.
Great food and wine. Friendly service. However at 1030 as the restaurant was starting to empty they abruptly turned off the music and a server came and cleared my wine glass, which still had maybe 2oz of wine left in the glass in an attempt to hurry us out of the restaurant. I understand you all want to go home however clearing away unfinished wine is unacceptable simply to hurry us along.
QUICK REVIEW: Food: 10/10 Vibes/Ambiance: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Price: Worth it! Went here last year for a celebration and I still rave about Lupo to this day! I had the quail which was recommended by the server and it was packed with flavour! My friend had the gnocchi which was also amazing. Lupo is on the pricer side but totally worth it, it is a perfect place for a romantic dinner. Great food, service, and ambiance. Will definitely be back soon!
Had a group party of roughly 30 people in the restaurants second floor where they do large parties. It was excellent service and delicious food!
Excellent food and very good service!
Unprofessional...... Very bad experience as a food rider..... ????????????
I love this place. I'm Italian and I can attest that they serve authentic, delicious Italian food! It feels like home every time I come.
Excellent pasta! Can never go wrong with the specials. Service also very good. Will definitely go back!!
Amazing service. While I don't have allergies I do have food sensativities the waitress went out of her way to make sure my food was as minimal in the ingredients I can't have right now as possible. The food was perfect and the pasta is outstanding.
Every one of the five starss on this review represents another superlative experience in this fine restaurant. Cosy, friendly professional and concerned atmosphere and staff serve food that is generous and beautiful in taste and satisfaction. Thank you Lupo. Hope to be back very soon.
Lovely ambiance with top notch food and service. Highly recommend for a special occasion dinner.
Great food and excellent service
What can I say other than I have never really experienced this caliber of Italian food... A quaint location, welcoming decor and intimate atmosphere combined with great service and amazing food. I had the the special of the day which was the veal ravioli and it was incredible! My date had the fettuccine alfredo which I tried (for research purposes of course) and it was hands down the best i've tasted. Highly recommend Lupo.
The food was nothing spectacular. I come from Toronto where there is absolutely amazing food. We ordered: 1) Caesar salad - the leaves and the dressing were not good 2) Octopus - this was not bad, but a little tough 3) Penne Bolognese - the penne was a little on the harder side, which I didn’t mind. The sauce was the tastiest, but there was a chunk of meat in it that was super dry. 3) New Zealand Clams - When it comes to their taste, they were good. But the clams were small and not juicy and fresh. The restaurant looks like a house turned into a restaurant and is located on a street with other homes. There is only one single bathroom for each men’s and women’s. It was a longer wait time for the bathroom than I would have liked. The food isn’t terrible, and I’m not too familiar with what else is available in Vancouver, but it’s just not a place I would recommend someone if they wanted really good Italian food.
Service and ambiance was great work no flaw to call out. Food was a 3. The waiter described the dishes and the nightly specials in a very appealing way which set our expectations high. Unfortunately, most of us thought the good was just "ok"except the white fish dish which got a 4.
Great food at great prices.. not the best service but super fast!
Awesome food and atmosphere! Always excellent service.
We had a wonderful dinner here with our family. Great food, wine and service. Our waiter Salvatore enhanced our entire experience with his recommendations, jokes and pleasant manner. Would highly recommend and will be back.
Seriously good food. I am still dreaming of the chicken fettuccine I had and trying to plan when I can go back to taste the other dishes. Personable service too!
An amazing atmosphere and one of my favourite places to get fresh truffle dishes in Vancouver
Fantastic service being attentive and friendly and the food was amazimg, though portions on the large side. On the expensive side, but worth it.
We walked by, looked at the menu displayed outside and decided to give it a try. We were casually dressed. All the other patrons were nicely attired! The maitre'd greeted us and said be could find us a table. We sat upstairs and we were served by Matt. Outstanding service. Matt guided us through the menu and wine selection. I had a pesto , mushroom pasta which was very good. My wife had the halibut and lobster. Again tasted very good. Creme Brulee was the best we have had. We would recommend this restaurant.
I'm going to be completely honest but its way too expensive here. There are many other Italian restaurants in Vancouver that are just as good that don't cost an arm and a leg! Portions could be bigger and my pasta with mushrooms was a bit too salty. The food is still very good... but the prices I personally just can't get around.
Good food, manageable portion sizes and good service
Delicious Italian food and drink, very nice service in a heritage building.
Reasonable price, good quality food and service
Fantastic food! I will come back for more pasta! Two people, we ordered 2 appe 2 mains. The appe we got bread and a veal with tuna sauce.. main we got the short rib and fettucine.. We both were very satified with the food. The place is petite but unique. friendly staffs. good atmosphere. love it!
Wonderful food and service. Highly recommend.
Authentic Italian. Friendly, tasty, fresh.
Amazing service and food! The octopus is like no other
The food and service was superb. I felt very safe and comfortable dining here particularly during such challenging times. I really enjoyed my perfectly prepared steak with freshly shaved truffles. Delicious!
Always awesome. I have been here so many times and the food has never failed to disappoint. If there's one reason to come back to Vancouver - it's Lupo.
I’ve been coming here for the past five years. I absolutely love this restaurant!! The food has always been amazing here I have never been disappointed. The price point is a little pricey but it is worth every penny. The focaccia bread here is probably one of my favorite things on the menu. I absolutely love the salmon here! The special of the day is usually always amazing as well! Make sure to ask for the special of the day!
It was a nice sit down dinmer. The food was great and the service was great just as you would expect.
Dinner
Always a good meal and service here.
This is a lovely restaurant in a house, it has nice décor. The staff were polite and had a deep understanding of the food and drinks on the menu. The food all the food was good. Good place for a date or quiet meal.
One of the top Italian fine dining restaurants in Vancouver. Sophisticated execution, elegant presentation, reasonable prices.
Wonderful food and service. Highly recommend.
Disappointing. Rabbit dish was so salty everything but the meat was inedible. Waitress said that is how they prepare it. Watery vitello tonatto. Won't return. I now remember why I stopped going to this place.
Love what I ordered and taste the same just as I came before. Chicken truffle pasta
Amazing dinner! Italian contemporary cusine we had the waguy carpaccio that was to die for and the main was also perfectly executed and tasty. I love the Large Wine list that they have. Great and knowledge serving! Definitely recommend it!!!!!
Dine in
Killer food. Nice cozy atmosphere.
We came here for my birthday, which is our third time going. The food is usually awesome, but every time we have been there has been rather questionable service. First time we waited 45 minutes for food. We waited 30 minutes last night to even put an appetizer order in. We had about 4 different people waiting on us which was bizarre, and when the appetizer did come it came without a key part, which was brought out by yet a different waiter after we had eaten a third of it saying, "I saw this go out without this. You need this." We ordered the duck special and it was really overdone - I overhead the table beside us say exactly the same thing. We only ate 2/3 of the meat which is crazy because these dishes are small. For a $42 dish that was underwhelming... especially on your birthday... but perhaps the most disappointing is that my boyfriend told the waiter about this (TWICE) and he completely ignored the comment and said "Thank you." Again when a different waitress came to take our card she asked how everything was and my boyfriend said, "OK" and nothing more was asked which was like... do you not want to know? The pasta was per usual delicious but honestly, for the amount of money I'm pretty sure we can find another Italian place with better service. It wasn't even busy (Tuesday). I'm truly a little baffled as to how this was handled by the restaurant... if you tell a place like the Flying Pig that something is overdone, they take the dish away no questions asked and give you a free drink as an apology... which is pretty normal? And that's just a run of the mill restaurant! You could have poked the duck with a fork and known it was hockey puck level. Just expect a lot more from a place like this. Bit unfortunate :(
I've been a few times and it's always a treat. I wish i could eat there everyday. Brought my girl for her birthday and the experience was awesome! Her first time and she loved it. Great food, the service was great!
Nice, clean place. Prices reflect the quality of the food. A bit of improvement need it in the washrooms areas.
The server is quite nice. The rib is tender and juicy. The dessert is very rich but not over sweet. Even though the space isn't that big. The atmosphere is still pretty okay.
Meal type
Gone down hill. Pasta was just ok. Scallops smelled fishy when they came out. Burrata was just ok, served with a thin little cracker and a couple tomato wedges. All over disappointed, being that I've been very satisfied in the past with this place. Not sure if it's a new chef or if the chef was just calling it in but I hope it gets better cuz it's always sad to lose a good place to go to.
Absolutely worth your time. Burata Mozzarella was to die for. Poached Carpaccio special was amazing, and both of the weekly entree specials were cooked to perfection. And when our waiter felt our desserts were being delayed, he poured us a limoncello on the house, without any expectation on our part. Thanks for a memorable night.
Wonderful food. Not cheap but for once... worth the price.
It was an overall underwhelming experience considering the reputation. The pasta's taste and texture was severely muted by the excess of oil. Aside from our drinks, the rest of our meal arrived exceptionally slow. I don't expect a server to be able to expedite food but, our waiter's lack of communication with us was off putting. The decor and atmosphere are quite unique with the house aesthetic being consistent with the exterior. If you are inclined to visit, a reservation is a must.
Amazing food and amazing service, great way to spend your anniversary!
Had a delightful birthday dinner here. Staff was really friendly and the food was delicious. We had a great little spot by a window upstairs which was very nice too.
Amazing food!
My friend booked the private dining room in the wine cellar. Everything was just perfect and delicious. Highly recommended.
The food here is incredible!
Had a great experience, came here with my parents. Seated upstairs, very nice area close to the window as I requested in my reservation notes. But the problem was that the table was quite small so felt the need to quickly finish up our appetizers since when the waiter came the to deliver the food he couldnt do so. We had to quickly scrape of some remainders on to our side plate but with the side plate the table felt very squished. Overall everything was good, just wish that they would've taken our side plates away since my parents and I, we weren't sharing our entrees.
My family has been coming to this restaurant for 5 years now. we love the food and the staff here, and they have amazing service all the time. When my mom loves a restaurant; the whole family automatically becomes regular customers haha. Definitely recommend this place for any occasion!
Good food, but pretentious and over-priced. Don't go if you're actually hungry. Par-for-the-course in Yaletown.
Dinner
I've been eating here since the late 90s. In some ways things have updated and changed and in other ways it's just as amazing as it used to be!
The food was delicious. I had the octopus mosaic and the veal. My friend had the lamb shank. The service was friendly. The restaurant was cozy. The only downside was they didn't write happy birthday on the plate.
Delicious meal in a beautiful setting - excellent service and food!
First experience at Lupo was great. The food and overall atmosphere was divine. I would definitely go back!
I'm speechless and doing the food dance as I type!!! From the moment we walked in, to ordering, Lesley was absolutely helpful with the menu and the food was out of this world. Thank you for making my visit to Canada most memorable. Chef you get 10 stars!
From weeks ago, first time trying Lupo. The ambiance is nice in a rustic way. while service is fast and attentive. The pasta is quite tasty and portion is somewhat small. The Creme Burlee and Tiramisu were by far my favorites. However, the lamb shank is a little bland. Overall very good.
I've been a few times and it's always a treat. I wish i could eat there everyday. Brought my girl for her birthday and the experience was awesome! Her first time and she loved it. Great food, the service was great!
Very good but pricey small dishes
Went here for our Anniversary dinner. The place is packed even for a Tuesday. My wife had Buratta Salad and Octopus Mosaic for me to start and it was amazing! The Focaccia bread has an acquired taste. For our main we have Seafood Risotto and Veal. The Veal was succulent and the Risotto was flavorful. Service could have been better. Our server was not that welcoming and a bit in a hurry and we need to remind him of my wife's wine order halfway of our meal. Overall, Very Satisfied. Lupo made our anniversary extra special.
Legit - the restaurant is in an actual old house, so sit in the front living room and enjoy fantastic Italian cuisine with the chef's signature dishes. We enjoyed every course we tried and the wine was great. Pricing fair considering the fine food and drink. Fantastic service.
The restaurant was cute, housed in a heritage home with separate small rooms maintained for coziness, and the food was delicious. The focaccia was so good, and the fettuccine in cream sauce was a choice I felt very good about making. Staff was lovely and attentive as well. Great experience!
Although I wanted to love this place, the food to me was just sub par. This restaurant deserves 4 stars because of the phenomenal service. Our server was a gem, he made recommendations when appropriate and was extremely attentive. The lamb shank is apparently a really popular dish here, but it just wasn't to our liking. The pastas were good though, recommend those!
Great food elegant atmosphere
Service
Came here with my boyfriend and we had a great meal here at Lupo! I still miss their clam carbonara two weeks after, and their sorbet dessert was one of the best looking desserts I have had. It is a relatively pricy place, but the service and food def pays off. Would come back 100%
The meals and service here were impeccable. From the pasta to the fish to the well designed margaritas. This place is high on our list of return visits.
Really good food. Love coming here !!
Exceptional !!! Pasta and meet were fabulous. So was the Burrata. Service was great too. Highly recommended.
Nice, clean place. Prices reflect the quality of the food. A bit of improvement need it in the washrooms areas.
This is our favourite special occasion restaurant. The food is always perfect and staff is friendly.
Amazing food, great service and ambiance
We had the carpaccio, meatballs, and baby romaine salad… followed by the sablefish special… ALL TO DIE FOR. Our server Christina was exceptional! A manager named Mo was also checking in on us and was very nice and funny. I highly recommend this restaurant for amazing Italian food and wonderful non pretentious service! PS. The creme brûlée is a must!
Lupo was simply phenomenal! From the second you walk in it is nothing but excellence. From top quality service (in our case by the lovely Lenka) to out of this world food which is both amazing in flavour and sustenance in a comfortable, classy yet homely atmosphere. I couldn't recommend it more, it is a must!
We went there for a business dinner and were extremely impressed at the quality of the food and service. We had the beef and also the octopus carpaccio. The pasta were amazing, fresh and homely Italian food in the true sense. Highly recommend.
Delicious and cozy!
A real treat in the heart of Vancouver, great apps, pasta, veal, salmon, steaks etc.. Closing it off with amazing deserts. Boun appetito #pizzolato#anthonybourdain
This little house in Vancouver is certainly a hidden gem! Italian dining at its best. We had decided on our meal until the specials were told to us- and these totally changed our mind! With each course, we asked for a paired wine, all of which were perfect. A beautiful night out with lovely food and exceptional wines. Thanks to our waitress, Mallory, who was outstanding in her knowledge of the menu and the beverage pairing.
One of favorite restaurants in Vancouver. Amazing food and service
Excellent food.
One of my favorite italian restaurant in Vancouver. Its Authentic, its well prepared and great taste. You can't go wrong if you want good italian food.
Amazing experience. From atmosphere to service to food it is all top notch.
My friend booked the private dining room in the wine cellar. Everything was just perfect and delicious. Highly recommended.
Star Rating: Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 Black Tagliatelle ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fettuccine (fresh Black Truffle slices on top - not shown on the photo) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ------------------------- Lupo is one of the most well known Italian restaurant in downtown. I was very shy to go in with hoodie on ???? as the environment was quite formal. I was in love with their “Black Tagliatelle” obviously because of the seafood (LOBSTER????) and squid ink fettucine. Just everything about that menu was really good. For the “Fettucine,” we added fresh slices of balck truffle which was put on after I took the photo, in order to have the pasta with stronger taste of truffle. However, I don’t think that extra cost was necessary. The taste of the fresh truffle was too mild in flavour. My overall experience here was very good. Food, service and the environment was very nice, except that the place seemed so crowded and compact with tables being so close to each other. It was very loud I got to say..
Will Lupo become the Bishops of the decade with John's retirement? Excellent space and fare, lamb & salmon both excellent. Service has returned to its previous premium level.
I've been to Italy 5 times. Great Italian food served here.
Absolutely outstanding! Unequivocally recommend to anyone looking for a wonderful meal out.
Delicious ???? Meal. Only negative was the small Parking lot was full & had to walk a distance from where I found parking. The walk helped to burn off the overindulgence though.
We had a lovely meal. We would definitely come back. Thank you.
First time here and will be back! All the food was done perfectly and a nice wine list. Service was great and attentive. My old fashioned was a bit weaker than I like but the other 3 guests really enjoyed there cocktails.
So good.
Fantastic food, excellent food, cozy and professional restaurant ! Great location, awesome converted heritage home! Both the primi and secondi dishes are good but I'd suggest getting a few different dishes with side plates so that everyone can try a few things. The taglierini with truffles was out of this world amazing as well as the lamb shank The food came quite quickly and the appetizers are really small so I don't think they are necessary (although delicious like everything here) Wonderful food, wonderful atmosphere !
The food was stellar. Everything from the appetizers to the desserts were tasty and beautifully presented. The rack of lamb was divine and probably the best lamb I’ve ever had.
Very cozy place, food was very good. Price was readonable for that ambiance.
Love this hidden gems in downtown. The staffs are very friendly, the environment is very warm and cozy. The pasta was the best I’ve ever had in Vancouver, I should’ve known this place sooner. It’s a nice place for a date or girls night out. Highly recommended.
Never disappointed in this establishment. Food and wines are excellent.
Over rated . Had better quality food for that price tag . Not the best ambiance. Waiter was nice but kept mentioning every plate price which made us feel that he is trying to let us konw that food is expensive. Dont think I will ever go back. There are much better choices.
Worst Pasta I've ever eaten. Drenched in oil. Bland. Gross. DO NOT GET THE PASTA.
My partner and I went there August 22, 2021. We both enjoyed the meal immensely. I'm sure that this is the best diiner I've had in year. I really enjoyed the experience. Our waiter was the perfect balance of kind, professional and friendly. I will remember this dinner for a long time and will definitely go back. The truffle pasta and caesar salad were both absolutely wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Wonderful food and the staff is very accommodating. I recommend to go with their daily surprises.
Great atmosphere and service!
Excellent service and food. My friends are in love with the restaurant. Feel like a home there too
Really great beer and a nice atmospheric vibe.
Always wanted to try this cozy looking place on Hamilton street... finally had my chance. I chose to visit Lupo for my anniversary dinner, and was quite pleased with not only the ambience, but the food as well. The specials for that day were the ravioli with short rib, and the beef tenderloin; both of which were quite splendid. My wife ordered the veal scallapini, and was impressed as well. This is a place I would visit again.
Very unique restaurant, food was amazing the staff was great. I'll definitely go back
If you like Italian food then you can't miss an opportunity to fine here. No trip to Vancouver is complete for me without a visit to Lupo. Words can not describe the delectable nature of the deliciousness they produce time and time again. Just go ahead and make your reservation.
Atmosphere is great . Cozy and comfortable. Had the veal chop which was cooked amazingly temperature was perfect everything on the plate was well seasoned. It was more than I expected for portions but definitely thankful and worth the price.????
Pretty good food here! Nice and quiet location. Of course on the pricey side. Wished they would have given a bit bigger portions though.
Delicious food. Great service.
Everything is brilliant, expect today’s special???? probably cuz idk how to order or the culture difference. I ordered the truffle pasta. Hmmmmm it’s literally just pieces of truffle and pasta. ???????? I mean hmmm maybe some tiny little bit veggie in it would be nice. Also, the snack is special dish too. But, it was okie???? The tenderloin was awesome!!!!!!!!! Fore gras is this da best!!
This place is very cozy and a great place to take your partner.
Great service. Delicious excellently prepared food , perfect Negronis , cool don't have been better!!
Upscale and cozy place with great food and drinks!
Highlight was the pesto
Goid food, friendly service and great wine selection
Service was as amazing as the food!!! The design was cozy but still fine dinning!
Ambience is wonderful, service is superb, but the food is mediocre.
great food. we went with a coupon so was good value.. nice ambience
Amazing food in a quaint old home turned restaurant. Great for a special night out. Make sure to try the bufala mozzarella appetizer.
Best Italian I've had outside of Italy; simple but well prepared dishes ranging from very traditional to unique selections. Usually quite busy & in no rush, service is gracious though. Quality local ingredients & notable wine collection.
perhaps i walked in with too much expectation. the wine was great, but the food was alright. serving sizes were small, but we ordered enough to fill our tummies 3/4. overall everything tasted quite plain. we were seated right by the washroom door, and i kept having to shift my chair, each time another customer had to go. the restaurant is literally a small house, made into a restaurant. ambiance and interior is 5/5.
Kind of small. Great food and atmosphere tho
Excellent Italian dining experience. Recommend for groups of 4, family or friends
Food is consistent with amazing and polite service. Always a returning customer.
Do you want the best food you can have in the most unassuming place in Vancouver? Come to Lupo. My experience here were years apart, but they were every bit as good as the first time when I discovered the wonders this little house in downtown can serve up. On my latest visit, I was over an hour late, and my party has already started the evening. When I stepped in they knew exactly who I was, and greeted me with, 'Where have you been?' For a cold evening, a hearty welcome warms the soul. My husband has already ordered for me, and minutes after I settled down, they served up our entrees. Now I have no idea what I would get, because I asked my husband to surprise me. The dish I got was their daily special, sable fish; and it was the single most delicious thing I've ever put in my mouth. The fish was extremely succulent, perfectly seasoned with a little bit of sweetness, and melts like butter in your mouth. It was such an elevated experience I seriously considered ordering another one. But luckily for me, this is their hidden menu item that they almost serve daily as long as they are supplied. I think I will need to go back every few weeks to just have that. Pro tip: pair it with a drier wine. I had it with an off - dry wine, and while it was still good, I found it a bit too sweet for the fish.
Food was great, service was even better
Really fantastic food and staff. Cute house is it's setting.
Consistently one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. I’ve eaten here quite a few times so I’ve tried a good chunk of the menu. Every dish I’ve tried is great. They also do seasonal truffle dishes so make sure you try that whenever it’s available. Don’t just stop at their pasta because their entrees are all pretty good.
Great food, great service. Price is a little high.
Excellent service, divine food! Best focaccia in the world; feather-light and slightly salted and crispy. A lovely bottle of Montepulciano, amazing rib eye steak, and scrumptious ricotta gnocchi with bolognese. We celebrated our anniversary with this wonderful dinner that exceeded expectations!
We really enjoyed our dinner and the service was great! The pasta and appetizers were very good, we will be back!
Meal type
Very small restaurant transformed from residential town house with limited seating space.i don't like the environment, for parking it is just a nightmare. No valet, parking lot is very difficult to find in this area. But...... Their food is the best Italian cuisine you can find in Vancity
Lupo surprised us. It's located in a house, the restaurant is two stories and it was overall very good. The only reason why it isn't 5* is because of the lack of seasoning on some of the dishes. Here is what we got: Focaccia - 5/5. This is the first restaurant I've been to in a LONG time that serves a traditional, piping hot beautiful and phenomenal focaccia. This is worth every penny. Buratta - 4/5. It was the special of the night, beautifully presented. Gnocchi di ricotta - 3/5. Wouldn't order this one again. Taglierini - 5/5. The amount of mushrooms in the dish blew my mind. They did not skimp on the quality or quantity of mushrooms. Roasted Rack of Lamb - 5/5. This was wonderful. Presented as the rack, and perfectly cooked. This dish was delicious.
Mediocre. Felt like the server had a chip on his shoulder, but that could've just been my personal experience. While the food wasn't necessarily bad, at this price point my expectations are higher, which for me unfortunately fell below other restaurants of this level. Their Lupo Negroni was great though, I'll give them that.
SPECTACULAR SERVICE. Love this restaurant
Decor/ambience, service, and food were all very good (only complaint was dry chicken in the linguini, highlights were the focaccia and lamb) - but not quite good enough to justify the price point IMO. I am more than willing to pay this price point but didn’t feel I got value at Lupo to justify $150 after tax and tip for 2 people who had no booze.
Good, quick services, dessert was stale. Creme brule and the lamb was so bad. My partner had two bites asked for the rest to be packed up. Get to the car and realize he left the to go on the table. Then he was like, its not like I was going to eat it, was just going to give it to a homeless person!!
Must try! Good food, good ambience and excellent service. Highly recommended
Took the lady and came out very satisfied as we are foodies at heart. Ricotta gnocchi with pork cheek, lamb ossobucco, and the lamp chops were amazing. We also had a truffle ravioli from the daily menu. Wine suggestion was spot on. Great for a date or special night out. You can go elsewhere and spend more for much less, also, so the value is quite good.
Great Italian restaurant, good atmosphere and excellent food.
Every time I had the opportunity to visit Lupo, it has been rewarding. Simple, strait forward ingredients letting the dish showcase each one. As a mushroom lover, I cannot say enough about Taglierini. And if you want a fish that melts in your mouth try shablefish. What better than incorporating local ingredients to italian cusine:) Don't miss the Titamisu!
Always a good time here!
Delicious food and excellent service. Definitely will be coming back
Just amazing...everything was excellent! A must-go!
The food was prepared and presented wonderfully.
Service
Excellent food, excellent service, in a homey ambience.
Amazing appetizers. Server provides great suggestions.
AMAZING! One of the best Italian restaurants in Vancouver. Every meal is epic; service is great, and the food is always on point. A little pricey but well worth it. Highly recommend! Update: They have the best Amatriciana in the city. Hands down the best. Not even a close contest.
Great staff. Excellent food and decor.
Been coming here for years with my husband, Vancouver's best. Amazing staff, food is unbeatable.
The pastas were pretty bland. I was disappointed since I heard good things about this place but there are definitely a lot more better Italian places in vancouver.
Great food and with a really cozy interior. Everything was well priced and properly displayed on the menu which made it a joy to navigate.
Wonderful dining and wonderful venue. The truffle pasta was to die for.
Good Quality food! Amazing French service! Helped us understand better the menu! Good ambiance! Good birthday dinner!
Steller. Food was excellent, and service was excellent. Expensive, but 100% worth the price. Budget $100 -$110 per person with a reasonable bottle of wine. Can't wait to go back.
Cozy spot with good service extensive wine selection and food made authentically. Definitely worth trying ????
Loved the food, the service, and the atmosphere. It was my first time at this restaurant and I look forward to going back!
The food was better than I expected! The highlight of the meal for me was the Nero. I've actually never liked Nero before and this one made me reconsider. The foie gras parfait was quite tasty as well. I almost expected it in a little cup rather than a pot because of the word "parfait." Last but not least the olive oil with the bread was delicious.
Food and service was great. The atmosphere was really good too. I didnt give it a 5 star because nothing was so good that I have to go back here for. The bread basket was $5 and the bread was cold. Ive been here a few times and would come back but not often.
Fantastic food and service! 6 of us went to Lupo on Saturday before a show and had the best experience. The waiter was simply outstanding and knew the menu and specials in detail and kept us on track to make the show on time. When I asked the manager about which main course to order - he didn't try to up sell me or even hesitate....he just told me his opinion. True professionals! I don't write many reviews but in this case, it had to be done. This is a top notch restaurant!
Wonderful food, great, knowledgeable staff. Would highly recommend.
Best Italian food I've had in a very long time! From food to stellar service..phenomal. If you're fortunate enough to have Nate Collins make your night special listen to his recommendations and go for the Octopus carpaccio and the tag. Great night for us and it will be a great night for you! Go there you'll love it!!!
Great service and awesome food!
The truffle pasta was so good that we've actually returned the next day to get more of it.
We arrived without a booking and were told they had a table for two so long as were done within two hours, which worked out fine. Food was contemporary Italian style with local seasonal veg, and the service was good, but the only aspect that really stood out was the wine, which was excellent.
First place we ate on our trip to Vancouver for the first time. Amazing!! The fresh baked focaccia was perfectly soft on the inside. The meatballs with polenta, seasoned just right and the meatballs were tender and juicy, the polenta was creamy and not crunchy (seems to happen quite often at other establishments). Loved the richly flavored short ribs. Would go back to Vancouver just for this restaurant!
Nostalgia house with succulent gourmet!!! Worth visiting repeatedly!!!
The menu was amazing and the staff was really friendly. Definitely try out their daily specials a lot of unexpected choices on there. The ambience was very nice as well. Gave me a homely feel.
We arrived early and seated. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance, candlelit, and the romantic atmosphere really set the mood for our best dine out date. We ordered appetizers. The Octopus mosaic was very finely sliced to the point that it was difficult to really taste it. The veggies overpowered the dish. Mussels were plump and tasty, quite surprised on how big they were! Waygu Beef Carpaccio was amazing. Every dish we ordered was incredibly delish. We ended it with their creme brulee.
Very tasty food. Home style Italian cooking. Our table ordered and ate family style which was a great way to try more dishes. Not great for visits but very nice wine list.
Crowded given covid situation... food was decent but not original nor authentic
Wonderful dining experience! Great food, great service, great ambiance. Our meals were perfectly prepared, service was excellent, not rushed. We will definitely return. Highly recommend this restaurant. Cant say enough about how great an evening we had dining at this establishment. Kudos to the staff and owners!
Very different
Excellent dinner! Exceeded our expectations. Thanks Lupo.
Fantastic food and a great atmosphere in an old home converted to a restaurant. We enjoyed every minute and would go back in a heartbeat.
I love the bufala mozzerla salad and the wine pairings, the staff is very nice. I love the heritage house setting too.
What a lovely place! Appetizing menu, beautiful environment. Maybe I'll try the pasta next time.
Great food and atmosphere. The gnocchi was yummy.
Nice restaurant. Pasta was really good, as is expected from a good restaurant like Lupo. Salmon was good too and presentation was beautiful. Wine pairings were fabulous. If you like a small, European-feel, cozy restaurant, this is it. Lupo is essentially a re-purposed Victorian house with windows onto the street.
Food was excellent ????
Cosy Italian restaurant with courteous service and delicious food. Wonderful ambience. Great restaurant for lovers, couples, family and friends. Our server Salvatore did a great job to recommend me and my partner appropriate food. Food served efficiently at right temperature. Highly recommended.
Love the atmosphere and food was exceptional
Dinner
Very very bland food... no salt or flavor. When asked for salt the server asked us if we needed to alter the taste of the dish...like Yeah! We ordered the chicken fettucine alfredo which was missing salt, flavor and chicken. Mushroom pasta was okay but nothing extra ordinary. For dessert, we ordered the tiramisu and it was meh... so was the chocolate torte. Finally when the bill arrived the server was just hovering around which made us super uncomfortable to leave minimum tip to reflect the service and the food we received. Overall it was not a great experience for the money we paid, wouldn't recommend or return!
I have been going to Lupo for a few years now, pre- pandemic. Usually, I love the food and delicious pastas, veals. I finally went back this weekend as the restrictions started to lift for indoor dining. Ordered truffle ravioli and chicken fettucine, I had 3 very thin slices and small slices of chicken breast and 1 piece of truffle in my ravioli. Now, I have been here more than probably a dozen times of the years and this was just not up to snuff. The customer service is great. Although I am not yet fully vaccinated and non of the servers were wearing masks and the tables were back to regular capacity so everyone was close. I mean yes, to each their own but, I felt quite uncomfortable.
Great Italian food, the tiramisu was very yummy. A little cramped inside as this restaurant used to be a house, so you are sitting close to other customers.
