REVIEWS OF Italian Kitchen IN Vancouver

Vicky Smallman

The most disappointing food I have ever tasted. Full of rich sauces that mask the flavour. It felt like an over priced fast food place. I was also constantly interrupted by the manager who wanted to chit chat. Please don't waste your money.

Austin Rosenfeld

Appetizers were great. Olive oil was incredible. Mains tasted like a can of chef boyardee poured on to a plate. An absolute disgrace to Italian cuisine. Spaghetti noodles were hallowed out to reduce cooking time, fast food techniques at high end prices.

Morgan Ayres

Amazing atmosphere, food was excellent and service was really good. I was happy to see all the precautions they've taken due to covid

My husband and I visited Vancouver in November, 2019 (for my husband’s birthday) and went to Italian Kitchen for the first time. We loved the atmosphere, the ambience, the food and service! We had such a great time, we ended up going again the following night! The food… You MUST try the Truffle Spaghetti & Meatballs! This is THE MOST DELICIOUS spaghetti my husband and I have ever had! Ingredients are fresh, the truffle sauce is delectable, and the meatballs are amazing! The Chefs at the back bar made us a “mini" Antipasto Platter on request and this was perfect for a taster with our wine! The presentation of this platter is truly creative and artistic! For dessert, the Limoncello Lava Cake and Zeppole are AMAZING! Both my husband and I love dessert and both of these choices did not disappoint. The service, the hospitality, the attention to detail… The service at Italian Kitchen is top-notch! We did not have reservations either night we went (Friday and Saturday), but Chen (Restaurant Manager) sat us promptly at the back bar (where the Chefs make antipasti in front of you). This was the best spot in the restaurant! We loved the experience interacting with the staff at the bar. The service is exceptional! Every server and staff member was professional, consistently checking in on us - and providing an enjoyable, relaxing experience. On both nights we visited, multiple management staff checked in to ensure we were enjoying ourselves! Restaurant Manager, Juan made us feel like family! While waiting briefly to sit (on the second night), Juan surprised us with a glass of Prosecco for each my husband and I. We immediately felt like rockstars! The service, hospitality, and attention to detail was gold-standard! Chef Matteo joined us for a few minutes and because I loved the spaghetti so much, he packed up a plate to take home! I have nothing but the highest recommendation for Italian Kitchen! Truly a 5-star establishment! Because of the amazing staff and food, we will definitely go back when we are in Vancouver! Italian Kitchen, thank you for making our experience unforgettable!

Amazing food and service. Went here for 1st wedding anniversary. Our server Jenny was great and so was the food. Can't wait to come back.

Amazing service, thank you for looking after us, very attentive and friendly. As for the food. Absolutely amazing. Really enjoyed it and can’t wait to come back

Good service but way over priced for average Italian food. Downtown Vancouver in the hotel district so it's to be expected.

Paul Andrew Rossi

Amazing food and amazing service. This is the first restaurant I will come to when I visit Vancouver next. Food is so flavorful and for an amazing price for fine dining. Highly recommended!

Christopher Carmichael

Great food and ambience!!

Sky Agent

Agree with many others...portions are small prices are high. When we got our meal no parmasan cheese or cracked pepper too top off meal.....also no extra bread!!! Has gone down hill. Use to love it now not so much. Been a customer of 10+ years.

Ilyas Naz Nazem

My favorite Italian restaurant in downtown. I enjoyed the happy hour menu, and good are all tasty. Patio is clean and beautiful. I recommend this place!

Luis Lopez

It was incredible food, beautiful atmosphere and Nate our server enhanced the entire experience and made our dinner even more memorable. Highly recommend.

Gautam Chakraborty (Gautchakraborty)

Pasta is amazing and the service were great. Had a great time eating here

Ryan Medlock

Good food, but a little noisy. The food came quickly and the staff were professional. It's fine dining so I don't recommend coming here if you're not dressed for it.

Paul S.O. Barbeau

This restaurant was just fantastic! The service was top notch and the food sublime. A real gem in downtown Vancouver. It would be hard to beat.

Kalvin W

Good food, but our waitress was terrible. She was very nice but our table was completely neglected. Tables who came in after us had bread and water before us, and had better service. We had to wait 20 minutes after finishing our food for her to come back and ask us if we wanted our dessert. We waited another 5 minutes for the bill, of which was thrown onto our table and she disappeared again.l. We waited another 5 for the machine. Definitely would not come back again.

Brendan Hodgkinson

The Italian Kitchen was fantastic!! The atmosphere was cozy, the service was impeccable and the spaghetti and meatballs was divine!! I am generally not a big fan of red wine but their house red was delicious!!

Shahira K

Been years since I been here. No surprise it still rocks. Food excellent. Venue styling. The SERVICE is amazing. This service crew are pros. They dont have jobs as servers they have careers. Well done

Jorge Castillo

The new Italian Kitchen has definitely stepped up their game. They are a few notches above casual dining now with some amazing new hand crafted pastas and perfected proteins. Right now they have a sous vide veal on the Dine-Out menu which was the best piece of meat I have ever feasted on. The only reason this is a four-star rating is because they no longer have their cheezy pull apart garlic bread. The new bread is great. But, the pull apart was legendary.

Jack Bondy

It was the worst experience when I eat the food I watched the mouse so many times. I couldn't eat anymore...so gross

Disappointing experience for what was supposed to be a happy one. My partner took me there for my birthday as a surprise and let me share my experience with you. Experience (reservations and wait time) 1. Even though we had reservation and we arrived on time we were left out waiting for 15 minutes until we were seated. My concern is that some people behind us in line seemed to have skipped the queue and were seated ahead of us (full party of people they most certainly were not meeting people that were already seated inside). 2. During the reservation (ahead of time) it was clearly mentioned we were going on a special occasion. However, we were seated in the worst possible place in the poorly lit patio by the street and dirty glass barrier. 3. Our drinks were forgotten and had to be reordered, the server was courteous and apologized for mishap (it happens) and even offered us a free treat (which showed up in the bill at the end of the night and my partner was too shy to bring up to the staff as it was my birthday) Food 3. Well for the slverlining the carpacio was actually decent, Slightly over cured and salty but decent, I would certainly recommend it. 4. The pasta was very delicious in a home made Italian way, the portions were huge. The presentation was good. However my partner found some fragments of crab shells in her pasta (thankfully no visits to the dentist though), the server noticed and asked if she wanted to replace it so that's another positive point there. Wine and drinks The wine(Pinot Grigio)was great as advised by my partner, as for the Sangria it intrigued me in the menu for the secretive description. However it indeed was disappointing as it certainly didn't seem to have been prepared ahead of time enough for the fruit taste to simmer into the wine. Overall, I would recommend the food in this place, however make sure to set your expectations ahead of time.

I was just walking by and stopped to watch the patio being set up, the tables. And I watch the busser set a table and HOLD the EATING side of CUTLERY to set the table!!! Disgusting! For a place this high in price I'd expect better training. As a Butler myself, I would fire any of my staff if I saw that even once for how upscale this is supposed to be! I'd give no stars if I could! And I'll never be coming here or recommending this place. I'd expect thus from a lower end restaurant,bu5 come on-train the staff. Or give them a raise so they actually care! Sadly this tells me that most of the staff probably don't even know which end of a glass is the Customers End and the Servers End-Ironically I just watched the same busser-as I'm typing this, just place glasses at the table holding the wrong else! At this moment!

Mark Carolan

Had our 2018 Christmas dinner there. Food was great. The service was excellent. Loved their signature meatballs. Delicious! ????

C M

Beautiful place with a huge patio and enough outdoor heaters, so it was very comfortable to dine there. Decor and attention to details and a excellent customer service. Drinks a good and food well presented and what is more important tasty. Will go back there for sure

Just finished dinner here about 8:10pm and I had to leave a review. My boyfriend and I had a dinner reservation at 6:15pm for 3 for a friend's birthday dinner. We arrived and were sat immediately and was greeted by Rob our server. Everything was great got some drinks and some appies to start. By this time it was around 6:45 when we were waiting for our main dishes which was the duck for two, a pasta dish with brussel sprouts on the side. As time went by Rob came by and apologized for the wait twice which was greatly appreciated but we waited LITERALLY an hour for our food. It was at 7:50 when we asked where our food was and they said it was just being plated. We did get our food shortly after but like our food was so minimal? I figured for food that takes an hour to make it would be very WOW! But instead it was very plain looking almost sad. There was at least 8 pieces of duck with a couple of brussel sprouts and gnocchi lined up on the side. To be fair it did taste good but was definitely not worth the wait and presentation was dissapointing. The servers ended up taking off the mains off our bill which was really nice but we were kinda rushed out because they needed the table for another reservation. Which I totally understand as a server myself and they did give us the option to move to another table but we decided it wasn't worth the hassle. Kinda dissapointed because it was for a friend's birthday and we wanted to eat dessert but the dinner was semi spoilt from the long wait and mediocore dinner. Other than that service was good as they were kind enough to take off our mains from our bill so for that I give them 3 stars.

Bill Huang

The food was very good. But did not like having a time limit for our office Christmas party and being forced to leave. I know of a similar size party who were there the next night, without having to leave after a certain amount of time at the restaurant.

David Jeffs

1 star for the service and 1 star for setting but the food was barely average and it's all thanks to the good ingredients. House Wine felt dry, the bread was very oily, the carbonara was too salty and when they gave it back to me it was just a bunch of creme. I just spent a 100 dollars to go home bloated like a balloon from the fat in their food and sick . I hear this restaurant was good at some point? I grew with italian food my hole life and whatever i was served today was a joke. The only thing that saves this restaurant is the quality of the serving staff that they have.

mario esposito

It can be very busy over the weekends and dinner. Made reservations in advance so we did not have to wait. Their spinach ravioli was outstanding. Great options for both meat lovers and vegetarians. Also 5-6 options on dessert menu. The waiter and waitresses seem to be working really hard to get the orders as quick as possible. I enjoyed the ambiance and couple of old fashioned drinks.

Ji Min Lim

Great service and amazing ambience. The food was as good at it gets. The food and drink options are really good. The italian food taste is also authentic. The usp at this place is pasta is mixed in parmesan wheel. Great location too in the heart of Burrad street. The foccacia bread they give with olive oil is too good.

William Mah

Good atmosphere. Great cheese board appetizer. Good service, pasta was okay. Bolognese sauce did not have much taste.

Ravi M

Excellent. High price point. Good, classic table service. Deep, hearty, indulgent food. I was a potato after lunch. I needed someone to Roll me home.

Albert Law

Recently had dinner at this beautiful location. Service is some of the best in town and the food is absolutely delectable. An ideal location for a nice family dinner, girls night out or a special date night! Do not miss out on The Italian Kitchen experience! Kevin The guest services manager is an absolute gem and a definite asset to the dream team! 5 out of 5

Brittany

I haven't been to Italy, but I'm just gonna put it out there... this is THE best Italian food I've eaten in North America. It was so good that I ordered a second plate of the cheese tortellini before I'd even finished my first dish. And the desserts were so beautiful that we didn't want to cut into them - they were truly delicious works of art! I would give them 6 stars and return here over and over again if crossing the border on a daily basis was acceptable. Unfortunately, Texas is too far and my bank account cries at the thought of weekly trips to Canada. However, I'm guaranteed entry to SeaWheeze 2021, so you better believe I'll be making reservations here next August!

Blair Friesen

I was there a few months ago and I had the most amazing experience. I had the burrata prosciutto to start and it was impeccable. For my main I had the truffle spaghetti. Everyone else at my table had an equally amazing experience. Despite the amazing food the complete highlight of our night was our amazing server Leysan. From the moment she spoke to us she made us feel so welcome and did not hesitate to answer all of our questions about the menu with perfect recommendations. She suggested wines that were not only ideal for the dish but further complimented the flavour profiles we discussed.

You'll love it if you like bland undercooked food

Despite not having a reservation IK was still able to accommodate me especially on a busy night. The service was professional however due to the high foot traffic my server did disappear for a quite period of time however that didn't deter me. I do find the food quite tasty and it has improved since my last visit especially the gnocchi and spaghetti and meatballs. However I do wish that their portions were a little bigger especially for the price yet I still recommend this place due to their effort and them doing to their best to accommodate during COVID times.

Dani Kobelka

Enjoyed a great dinner of pasta while visiting Vancouver. Located directly across from the Sutton Place hotel which was a bonus as we didn’t have to drive or Uber there! Highly recommend the Linguine Vongole, clams were plentiful and so good ????. Reasonable prices, great food and service.

Elizabeth McQueen

Always recommend my friends to. is the best!

Hamidreza Sadeghi

Average food and service. The pasta sample was good the meatballs were bland

Laura Torrella

Have dined here multiple times and have been impressed with the consistency in both meals and service. Roberto the maître d was exceptional in his attentiveness and hospitality. He found us an excellent table in a quiet corner of the restaurant.

JJ Banguis

Nice Italian food . It's a bit on the expensive side. Food is ok but service is good. It's quiet a busy place so book a table ahead If possible.

John Pickersgill

The worst delivery I've had for a dish this year. I ordered a Carpaccio which is expensive and overpriced, that came in a pizza box. Oh yeah, the Carpaccio is stuck/glued to the package it's in, so it's unedible. Restaurant said manager decided the packaging after I asked how this was possible. Will never order from this place again. It's way over priced and they can't even package food properly.

Dexter Pratt

This place has great service. Now with patio service only, there are more people to attend to you. The patio has great ambiance also now that it's beginning to feel more like summer. Same great food.

Kimia Barkam

Food was amazing, service was a little bit and miss initially, but once we had ordered was good.

Cass Lao Real Estate 勞麗嫦專業地產

Very nice place! I ordered the alfredo fettuccine - I didnt get exactly what I ordered , but the food was decent. Unfortunately the server wasnt all that friendly, so star lost.

Barrett Wilson

I often read reviews saying the staff were friendly. This place is in a whole new ballpark. Every single staff member we saw (about 6) either welcomed us to the restaurant or thanked us for coming. The food was also really nice. Perfect portion sizes to fill you up!

Mike W

Absolutely amazing experience going here, both the service and the food exceeded my expectations. I went there with my family for my birthday and the staff were super nice and the food was delicious and the presentation was beyond beautiful

MANBIR RANDHAWA

I have been here twice now and both times the food has been amazing. I tried the brunch menu and I would highly recommend it. The patio in the summer is very nice. If you are looking for a restaurant with good food, good service, and a nice atmosphere this is the place.

The service wasn't the fastest but the food was excellent and the servers were very pleasant.

Susan Stephenson

the service is great but the food is subpar for the price. I would expect more taste from their regular price menu.

Ric Johnson

Had the best seafood pasta of my life... loaded with prawns and scallops in a delicious sauce. High expectations were dramatically exceeded by the outstanding service and food. The owner himself stopped by multiple times to make sure all our needs were met. We can't say enough about our meal here. This restaurant is not to be missed. You will not be disappointed!!!

chris chan

Very good place for non vegetarian but limited options for Vegans and vegetarians. Nice place. I hope they should introduce some good veg options.

D Rose

My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner. The veal scallopini was delicious and our waiter steered us to an excellent Tuscan wine - Bran Caia. Prices are reasonable and the service was friendly. Also, the restaurant is in no way pretentious, which is perfect for an easy going meal surrounded by people in good moods.

Delicios selection in pastas. Zucchini blossoms are to die for!

Dan Bergerman

Although the food and the service is good, it does not match the price tag. At this price I expect a Maitre D with manners not a 20 something waitress. Also some questionable choices in the kitchen. ie: why would you sit a salad on top of a HOT Veal Milanese? The lettuce gets cooked and smushy with the heat of the meat....

Wilson Lin

Great food and good service. Love getting the shared pasta platter so that we can sample a bunch of great stuff. Decent drink selection too.

First ever visit to Italian kitchen tonight. Ordered the crab pasta special which turned out to be not so special after all. Fishy tasting minced crab meat served with pasta at$23 was so disappointing as I’m certain they served canned crab. I won’t be back.

Lanei L

Love the new location! Brunch was surprisingly lovely and service was awesome! I definitely prefer over Hawksworthe anyday! The staff were friendly and personable. I felt only awkwardness was from the manager who didn't say anything and stood there lol. Hope he reads this ????

Elissa Wang

DO NOT GO HERE. THERE'S RATS ON PATIOS. MANAGER SAYS THEY CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE ITS PATIO.

Ati Jahan

Great Italian restaurant, awesome antipasto and good pasta dishes.

Felipe Borelli

If you love Italian food. This place is a must. Very mouth watering for sure! You are warned! Food is heavy. Portions are decent for many of the dishes. Good location!

Razanne Grayman

Very good Italian cuisine ???? Unfortunately, this time the waitress was not very good. However, I would go back. Maybe next time I can give the 5 stars back.

Andrew Mardjuki

I can’t thank you enough for treating us like VIPs and making my girlfriends’ belated birthday party extra special!! Our husbands are collectively jealous of us now ???? #sorrynotsorry

Ika Chou

Service wasn't bad. Food was not good for the price you pay - small portions, cold, and terrible vegan options. Very small amount of table bread. Would not recommend.

Devika Vaghadia

The food is delicious and the service is both friendly and efficient. We had the Zucchini Blossom for an appetizer and here's hoping it moves from the experimental to the regular menu. Try it before it's gone. The handicap washroom is roomy and well equipped, though the toilet sits rather too low for easy transfer from a wheelchair. We will definitely be back to this gem.

Andrew Parsons

Great service and my plate looked fabulous. Unfortunately, mine was a bit burnt on the other side.

Shayn Yoe

Great food but a little expensive for my taste. The pasta is really good here and I’ll recommend trying it out. Make a reservation before you go because wait times can be very long. My personal favorite here is the seafood linguini which has scallops, shrimps and a lobster tail.

Mina A

Amazing evening. Food was outstanding as was the service. Kris the bartender did a great job. Bar is a little tight but all in all a fantastic evening and will definitely go back.

Alex English

I am surprised that people legitimately think the food here is worth the price point. Sure you pay for the "atmosphere" and location but the food is mediocre at best. Portion sizes are expectedly on the smaller side. I'd literally go to any other restaurant in the area...you only live once, don't waste a meal at a place like this.

Martin Eady

The service was excellent. My wife had a wonderful experience and was very happy so in turn it made myself very happy. The prices were very fair and the plate sizes were portioned out generously. I did find my negroni to be a tad bit sweet but other than that, it was a all around great meal.

D C

Some of the best Italian food I've ever had. The antipasto and pasta - amazing! A bit too pricey for us to enjoy often, but not bad for downtown and sooooo tasty.

Great service delicious food. Gorgeous patio setting. Beautiful dining indoors or out. Lovely experience.

Cheryl Hanne Warburg-Wardahl

Service and cuisine was excellent. We ate in the outdoor area and the weather was nice. Seafood linguine was freshly cooked and was very tasteful. Great wine selections. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommend eating here.

came here after a long day, amazing food! everyone was kind and welcoming. the pasta just melts in your mouth, and the truffle fries were my favourite!

Armand Rashid

Spectacular atmosphere, cozy dream like environment and beautiful decor. The service is also outstanding. The food, not so much. Linguine was cold and too salty, and the texture was mushy. Risotto mediocre, and everything else just mediocre. We greatly enjoyed the donut dessert. But came for the food and were left very disappointed again by Glowbal group. I don't know what's up with this company and serving substandard food, we do go out a lot and have high standards for quality, but it's true that Cactus Club has higher quality food and ingredients then Glowbal restaurants across the board. They really need to hire a proper culinary director because the prices do not ever reflect the quality of food received.

N B

A great experience. Food was outstanding. Highly recommend the gnocchi and tiramisu. Candice who served us was amazing. Gave great recommendations and service was excellent.

Alyssa Steinhubl

Food was great and service was excellent! We were craving Italian, but had been sightseeing all day and I was a little worried we were underdressed. The hostess was very welcoming and assured us it was fine. We both had the parmesan chicken and it was amazing. Definitely a must visit in Vancouver!

James Lamers

Having a reservation does not matter here. Got the worst seat in the house. Wobbly table and one of the servers was so rude about it. Will not return

Elizabeth McCarthy

Been here 3x, service was a bit hit/miss each time. I usually come here for the $10 lunch specials. It's weird as they sometimes let you sub the beer for a non-alchoholic pop, soemtimes they won't. Get your rules straight and stick to them.

Nir Kushnir

The food is pretty good, specifically the salmon and steak. We had a work event there and had a set menu that had a big variety, which was great. The service was also pretty good, mostly. I didn't look all of the food though.

Neal Ranzoni

I went here over the weekend had reservations, when I get there we were seated at a wet patio. I went inside and asked if the heaters can be turned on they said it was on.. we then asked another server and he confirmed the heaters are not working. It was not only freezing, water was dripping through the patio on my head, my jacket was wet I even showed them and they did not care and just said that we had to deal with it. Absolutely ridiculous if you are advertising a fully heated patio then be honest, or call your customers that are driving far to get there to let them know what to expect. They were so rude instead of apologizing. We ended up leaving, and so did other tables that were seated beside us. I have been to many global owned restaurants this was the worst service. I was not given a manager, nor can I find a contact online. I am very disappointing, we felt like just a number. Do not recommend.

Angel Cheng

Glassware was dirty and waiter couldn't handle a 12 top.

Leila Babines

The best Italian food I have ever had!

Jack Chang

People didn’t really dress up and were taking selfies, doing make up, wearing hats during dinner. I would say it looks and tastes like it would be upscale. Loved my bolognese spaghetti but seafood pasta was too spicy.

Golnaz

Delicious food, and that is saying something as i've tried italian in almost every part of the city. Service is ok, but lacking sometimes when it's busy. But I guess that is to be expected.

I ordered the Saltimbocca and it was despicable. The veal was overcooked and tough and the cream sauce was a gelatinous blob. The waitstaff were very good and when advised were most apologetic and removed the dish from our bill. I was disappointed that the chef or Maitre de did not approach the table to find out why I was not happy with the dish as it was not acceptable. Other dishes ordered were excellent.

Fleur Marlyn Teng

Service was friendly and attentive. Salads are fresh and tasty. Pasta dishes are good but not able to compete with other Italian restaurants I have visited in Vancouver.

Nixie Knox

Excellent service, Nice outdoor patio. Good place hanging out with friends. I love the meatball spaghetti, beef carpaccio, and the Lamb shank. The tuna salad average.

Love it!!!! Great service From Toronto

Steven L

Great service, server was patient with orders and very friendly. Wait time was short food was amazing, get to pasta plate to share, get a taste of everything and for sure try dessert. Overall best Italian I’ve had in a while

Tracy Gibbons

The location, service and ambiance of Italian Kitchen is good. They offer quite a limited menu, but the pasta I had was very good; however, the portion size was small for the price. Considering the wide variety of restaurant choices in Vancouver I can’t say that I’ll go back any time soon.

Y L

Amazing food and service! We really enjoyed our dinner. Everything was tasty and flavourful. I especially loved the lamb!

Greg Nichvalodoff

We took my cousin who was visiting after a long time to the Burrard location. This is a nice place with nice ambient. The food itself was good. However the server didn't have any matters at all. He literally wiped off something off of the plate with his finger. Didn't bother to place the plates properly and passed us the plates by hand. Almost threw bread onto our plates, spilled water while filling up the glasses and also some into my pasta. Their parking validation also didn't work. Very disappointed with everything except the food and maybe the environment.

Shawhin Kanai

The bartender, Ryan, acts like the douchebag president of a fortune 500 company. The food is uninspired sizzle, no substance. Do not be fooled by the popularity of this restaurant; as you may know, there are plenty of idiots in the world and the Glowbal Restaurant Corporation are marketing masters - you may as well eat at Boston Pizza. Go to il'Giardino if you want Italian.

Nicholas Quintillan

Disappointing to say the least and almost a complete waste of time. We came here on a Monday night around 7:30. We sat at the bar and ordered drinks, appetizers and mains. The drinks were delicious and came within a few minutes. The …

Serivce is impeccable BUT, I went here with my Fiancee and ordered one of their pasta dishes. The Waiter failed to advise that the sparkling water came at an additional $8.00 charge, the chicken and pasta noodles were overcooked, the peas were still hard, the dish was very salty, and after all that, something in the dish almost caused my Fiancee to hurl it back up later in the evening. Atmosphere and the Service were both pretty good, but for a place that charges a premium, Joey is right next door and does their pasta dishes spot on.

Alvin Wong

I want to start by saying that we are from out of province and we’re quite excited to come to this restaurant because of the pasta being spun in a Parmesan bowl. We came for our reservation with our daughter, who is a toddler, and her god mother. Once we were seated and given a high chair, I was trying to get my daughter settled in the high chair which took a couple of minutes however she was not loud and we gave her several toys so that she would not cry. For some reason this upset our waitress so much that she had to roll her eyes at me as I was trying to settle my daughter. Then instead of introducing herself to us and the usual introductions and small talk of getting a nice dinner started, she asked “sparkling or regular” and since my partner and I wanted regular water, she talked our friend out of getting sparkling water. From then on all of her responses were short and rude although not outwardly disrespectful. When I asked what the table side dish was she decided instead of telling me, to inform me that it does not serve 3 people. This is when I realized that the problem wasn’t that we were younger (25+) but that we didn’t appear to her to be able to afford to eat at this establishment. I ordered my food and my partner and friend ordered there’s, we ate and requested the bill and left. If it were up to me I would have called the manager over and paid for the bill and asked to directly tip the kitchen staff. However, my partner did pay the bill and we left. It is such an unfortunate experience on our end, and I don’t think that I should feel the need to justify our being there and what our income is, although just fine. I didn’t have a good time, finish my meal or have dessert as we would have liked for having a dinner with our daughters god mother who lives across the country. This should have been a wonderful dinner for us but unfortunately was not.

Went there with few of my Italian clients. They liked the environment very much they still call and say to take them when they will be back again in Vancouver. The food we order was perfectly what it has to be. Staff were very friendly and food is not that expensive.only thing which you need to take care is parking. It’s hard to get parking spot near to restaurant. I strongly recommend.if you looking for Italian food.

The truffle spaghetti is can’t be missed!! It’s amazing! Large portions and absolutely delicious

True 5 star experience. When you sit at the bar, which we personally prefer for our date nights, you sometimes fear you may get less of an experience; this particular location takes it to a new level (Ryan, to be exact), truly cares, enjoys, & perfects the customer service craft, all the way up to holding the door of our cab that he himself arranged for us upon completion of a fantastic dinner service. Bravo.

Tara Williams

Great lunch venue. Enjoyed high quality menu on the outdoor heated patio. Wish they had a quick lunch menu along with the full menu. Will be back!

James Hamilton

Very good authentic Italian food, as per a non-italian person so.....????‍♂️

Bezzaouia Zeineb

Extremely overpriced, small portions, mediocre food. One of our meals was almost cold. Ended up costing over a hundred dollars for three entrèes and one glass of wine(Two of us had water). I was legitimately surprised by how small my plate was, and the food was not bad, but certainly not worth over twenty dollars. I could've gotten a more satisfying dish from Boston pizza for half the price. The servers were friendly enough, and seated us rather quickly, but not well trained at all. Reached across the table to grab cutlery and pour drinks, never asked how the food was, the vinegar and oil dish for the bread had way too much oil, making it impossible to get to the vinegar, and some of our breadsticks were stale. Also there are exactly zErO signs for the washrooms, kind of annoying.

The HH was really good deal. Great food and good service. I would love to go and try different menus for the next rime

Milan Gorasevic

This was a night cap to our visit to Vancouver. Italian Kitchen is a young, vibrant, and exciting happening place. The food is divine and will not set you back much money. The presentation is awesome. I have never enjoyed truffles before. WOW. Bam, mouth taste explosion! The lamb was very very good too. We sat next to the kitchen and experienced the orchestra of food making and crafting. Added to the enjoyment of the evening.

The low stars are given due to potential food poisoning from the restaurant. My partner and I visited the restaurant on a Saturday night. We ordered espresso …

Nelson Lin

Went there for office's Christmas dinner. Overall it was good. Entrees are especially good in taste. But probably it was on a busy time during the whole year... the service is not excellent.

Chef Menajem Peretz

Tasty experience and great service! I went with my husband for lunch, we asked for bruscheta, chicken patmigiana, seafood linguini and mango panacota, all the dishes were very delicious, they use high quality of products, the waitresses were really friendly and attentive, good customer service for sure, the restaurant has many ambiences and is really spacious, good cost benefit. I just missed lasagna option to be an Italian restaurant, maybe you should consider it on the menu for the future, but loved everything and will definitely come back!

Andy Wright

Consistently a great place to dine.

Katie Nicholson

It was the worst restaurant that I have ever gone. I invite my wife for celebrating her birthday tonight, 10 minutes we were seated and nobody asked us what do you want? Whereas at least 10 waiters were around us!!!! We decided to leave there and I'll never come back again. Even I should tell to my friend also. This was an embarrassment and it should be noted that we went to CACTUS CLUB afterwards, and celebrated my wife's birthday over there. We enjoyed a lot at Catus Club!

Sina Doroudgar

I haven’t went out at all since the new restaurants rules. This was the first time me and my husband have went to dinner in months, we get seated given water, then told to fix our chair because it was too close to another table, fine, then still receiving no other service for well over 10mins, seeing 3 other table who were seated after us being served, we ended up walking out from such extremely poor service. For the prices and the non-service, there are way better restaurants options, even right next door.

Hays Campbell

What a wonderful meal and experience! Candice was our server ands was truly the best you could ask for! We will be back again and again to enjoy the beautiful food, wine and service!

shelley fancy

Excellent friendly service! Amazing Tiramisu - best ever! Fantastic honey mussels and clams- great portion for Happy Hour price. Delicious Frito Misto thanks to the sauce. Seafood linguine - light and flavourful. Dungeness crab stuff salmon a total disappointment. Contained maybe a tablespoon of stuffing which seemed to be mostly breadcrumbs. Flavourless unless you could scrape up a bit of the scarce pesto sauce with a bite. Fingerling potatoes needed seasoning too. Whomever was on Appetizers Mar 17th killed it. Whomever was on Entrees, not so much. Probably will go back but only for appys and dessert.

Cliff Stone

So many good things about this place: 1. Food is awesome. Great italian food, the calamari was excellent, the seafood linguine was very hearty and served with plenty of seafood. The mushroom gnocchi was rich and flavorful but it filled me up fast. 2. Service is far above average. She folded our napkin, constantly refilled our water, other staff stepped in for assistance, manager came by and they we very gracious hosts. 3. The restaurant is clean and it has a really nice intimate atmosphere in the restaurant. There are lots of doubles tables available which offer a comfortable setting for a date. 4. Worth every penny and am enjoyable experience for a night out.

Jasmine Thomas

Delicious food, warm atmosphere, lovely staff. A truly special night out. I love that it didn't feel elitist, just comfortable. The design, lighting and layout all contributed to how lovely it was. And I cannot stop thinking about how delicious and fresh the menu was. Perfect!

Dan Maskell

Great food, great service. Good sized portions. 3 of us ate with an appetizer, three mains, two desserts and two glasses of wine for 175. Very reasonable. 5/5

J Kk

Food is good but they just keep making their portions smaller and smaller. I have been getting their lasagna for lunch for years, but it has slowly turned into a far cry from a meal. Find myself continuing to go back as the food is tasty, but continually disappointed with their dwindling portions.

Paula DeBoer

Excellent food and service! One of my favourite lunch spots when I visit Vancouver.

Paul Sangha

Celebrate my dad’s birthday here, food was on the spot, server was friendly and attentive, strongly recommend!

Tom Chung

Some entrees were excellent, others were Ok. Deserts were wonderful and appetizers were delicious. Wine selection proved to be quite satisfactory. Our server made some mistakes such as forgetting to serve my salad. Price with tip (20%), was almost exactly 500.00 for 4 adults and 2 teens. 1 bottle of wine was consumed between 3 adults. Would I go again? Maybe, I'd probably try some other places first though.

Dawn Anderson

Love the new venue. Just celebrated our 20th anniversary there tonight. Amazing food, great atmosphere, super service... New menu with some classics still around. Highly recommended...

Eugenia S

We are here 2 nights in a row. Different seatings and different servers. Both times the staff was very accommodating getting us a table without a reservation (a Friday and Saturday night) and the food was delicious. Fresh made in house pasta tops it all. The portion sizes were typical of a good eatery in Vancouver and the prices competative. Would definitely go back.

Paul Gill

I have been to the Italian kitchen many times and i find the food to be excellent. The service can be hit and miss at times...particularly on busy nights but that is kinda normal in busy establishments. I recommend going for dinner early, as the staff are fresh and they are much more attentive. Its usually less busy early too...

Tim S

I have given this restaurant three stars as the pastas were well executed and the service was adequate. Other aspects of the experience were sub par. We ordered the antipasto platter and many of the vegetables were actually frozen. The green beans had slushy ice inside when you bit in. Also, we made it known our occasion was a birthday celebration and after several bottles of wine and a substantial food order, they offered no celebratory dessert or offerings. I learned later that the server directly actually asked my birthday guest if she wanted her own “free” dessert. I found that extremely tacky and unmannerly. It was clear that I was the host and the occasion had been made clear throughout. I was disappointed overall.

santafegls

After reading the reviews we decided to give this place a shot. The food, service and ambiance were great. We both left extremely full and satisfied.

Anand Ramaswamy

LOVED Riley and the whole experience at The Italian Kitchen. We asked our Concierge at the Fairmont to book us in for dinner at a great place and he did not disappoint. Dinner was incredible, dessert was dreamy, but for real the service was top notch; it really showed that Riley cared about giving his guests an outstanding experience. So excited to go back to Vancouver and visit again.

Hadley Barrington

A pleasant early dinner : though I was greeted after a short wait for both the receptionist and the time for him to decide which table on the dining room, the assigned waitress came in perfect time and checked my dishes at time. The menu is uploaded online, so no surprise. Just they do offer happy hour drinks but you can also request other volumn. The bread is moist than usual. The spaghetti is cooked, not al dente. The traffle sauce is perfectly mixed while the three big meatballs are quite spicy, juicy and hot! I got generous portions of shredded cheese on top~~ I have ordered white wine, and was told that's a blend of Italian. It tastes more fruity and minerals than normal Italian wine. While it was just 430pm, only two patrons were inside. There are many tables and I suggested that one couldn't feel spacious as tables are set quite close together.

GK Asante

I have lobster tamarin. The pasta was good, but the lobster itself was overcooked. The halibut and Risotto was perfect.

Erfan Vafaie

Popped in for lunch and really enjoyed the ambiance and service. Kudos to Chef Sean for bringing back the magic here.

Melissa Yubeta

What a classy place. Great food, great people all the way through, clean, and approx $100 for my wife, 3 year old, and myself. Excellent excellent place!

Monika Coutts

Great food, ambiance and customer service. Price is reasonable accordingly and barriers between tables for extra safety. I enjoyed my time and food.

J. T.

Came for dinner time to hang out with couple others. Sat at the bar upstairs with Sam as our friendly bar man, and Rolf is also a super nice guy. Great service. Has the eggplant parm, salsiccia pizza, spaghetti meatballs, side brussel sprouts, and some flourless cake with caramel sauce. Large portions and tasty food. Hmm.... also watching things happen at the bar was fun. Always a good time at Italian Kitchen :) enjoyed it today.

Chelsea With

The chicken picatta was really good, the caprese salad appy too. It's a little too "cozy" if your seated next to a loud group like we were. Large group literally yelling the whole meal. Nobody asked them to quiet down either. If the food wasn't so good it would have gotten a ????????

Christine Koch

Excellent food , some of the best "Italian" I've had in town. Great service and terrific management!! Will be back ! Thanks

Connor Byron

Waitress thinks she delivers good service twice I was showered with water. She was also very abrupt right from the being of serving us. When asked what we thought of our desserts which were so so she was surprised at our review. Over all not at all impressed. Will also forward this review to Trip Advisor & Yelp.

A S

The service was great. We ordered the seafood platter for two. It was good.. But not sure if it was worth the price... A little pricey for what your got. It is a noisy atmosphere... But we got a corner table that was a little quieter.

Patrick Audley

Kids menu is a great deal - particularly the beef tenderloin. The Dine-Out menu for 2017 was a disappointment however; despite a $40 price, the portions were more appropriate for a tasting menu.

Lisa Dorian

Had a great time for my wife's birthday. Staff made all 9 of us very comfortable even though we were at separate tables given covid restrictions.Wonderful, friendly caring staff and management. Its my favourite Italian restaurant in Vancouver! Thanks to all!

Jennifer Chow

I dropped by bc it was close to the hotel and really cold outside outside and I wanted some comfort food and red wine. It was sooooo good, started snowing pretty hard outside, but the pasta and wine was perfect. Staff is great, too, sat at the bar....

KOCHANSKI V P

An amazing experience and also excellent quality dishes, totally recommended.

I had visited this place on the recommendation of a friend, as I had some close friends coming in from out of town and wanted to take them to a good restaurant, well I am so glad we came here, we were lucky we got a spot because they were very packed, the service was friendly and fast I tried the duck gnocchi which was so rich and delicious I couldn't even finish it all. The chef even came out to see how we were enjoying our meal I thought it was a very nice personal touch for a restaurant, I only wish we knew to dress up a bit more, ha! The truffle spaghetti is also amazing!

Roja Andii

Food was simply excellent, nice restaurant, very nice staff, very friendly. I definitely recommend this place for a date, or a celebration.

Meandering Midget

One the best italian restaurants I've ate at. Wow

Gurkirat Gahlan

Great attention to keeping facilities Covid friendly. Waiter was excellent, very attentive. Beautiful food presentation and tasty. Our only minor complaint was when we left and we looked at host/manager to say good bye and he ignored us, there was no one else around.

Jenn Bergerman

My husband and I don’t have huge appetites anymore, so we try to share an entree whenever possible. Those places that don’t charge extra for that shared item are especially appreciated. The Italian Kitchen deserves all the credos we can give. Our pasta dish was yummy, seasoned just right and served impeccably to us as a shared meal. That left us room for our Italian beer and Prosecco with meal. The desserts were worth given up a bit of entree. My cassata was recommended by the waiter, although he warned it was nothing like that to which I was used. I was worried, but after some Prosecco, decided to forge ahead. He was right! Very, very different, but, wow, was it good. And, also good for me, some very well-priced high end liqueurs. The setting is charming and we, after two visits five years apart, heartily recommend The Italian Kitchen. (Also, they have very stylish “doggie bags”!)

Amy Jarrah

Ardi crushed it with his personal interest with us and the customer service he and others like Kim and Chris provided were excellent. Ardi’s attentiveness and treatment surpassed our expectations. This is why we came back 3 more times in the next 2 days. It was great to personally meet and speak with Matthao. Plus Omar’s friendliness was wonderful too!! Thank you guys for a great experience!!! Traci B

Tomas Williams

The service was great the night we went with both our waiter, Jeff, as well as one of the hostesses being very attentive to our needs. Food was very good with our opening Charcuterie platter being so good. My wife had the pasta and meatballs which she enjoyed very much and I loved the braised lamb shank that I ordered. All was excellent!

Tom Hannivan

The food here was delicious! Also, we sat outside and it was pretty. Taking one star off for the customer service, took them a while to get our order and to bring our order and the staff just wasn't that enthusiastic or fun to deal with. I might still go back for the food.

Diana Klejne

Really enjoyed this restaurant in downtown Vancouver everything we had was very good including the salad and especially the Silician Duck! The pasta was very.good as well as was the BC wine and our server was awesome!

Alex Kwok

We went here for a very important occassion.. my moms 65th birthday! We chose this restaurant because she loves italian and there were good reviews about it.. we were all excited to go! When we got there, we had reservations and was greeted as soon as we walked in. We had a surprise birthday cake for her and immediately they asked us to sign something acknowledging the cake.. the food was great! The service was ok! What actually was the downfall was about the cake that we brought.. when it was time to get the cake out.. we were told that there is a charge of $3 per slice.. for them to slice it for us.. i don't know if this is the "NORM" now for restaurants.. maybe we just didnt know.. we frequently go to nice restaurants and we've never been charged for this kind of service.. it just left us with an awkward feeling for the rest of the night.. it overshadowed the whole dinner plan that we had for our mom. ???? but again, food was great. *awkward end*

Red Murphy

Food was below average and expensive - chicken dry and tough (try make a scallopine chef so you don't cook it to death). Setting lovely and server fantastic - thanks Sarah B for saving the dinner experience

jane tse

I have been to Italian Kitchen many times and it was great but dont know what happened to the management , the host lady named Ruby was extremely rude . Waited for few minutes and she did not bother to acknowledge us and after few mins she was starring at us without saying any word and we had to ask if she would like to seat us, it looked like we are begging her for a seat. she took us to our table with so much of attitude and rudeness. The server was really great and she was really friendly and the food was great. I love the food here. The first impression is always important ,its the host job to welcome guests and seat them with politeness but Ruby was so rude and impolite.

Chris Goward

Loved every dish I ordered. Was a very vegetarian friendly restaurant. The only downside is that the service gets slow of its busy.

Brittany Rudek

Got the pasta platter, it was decent but kind of bland. Tiramisu cake was also nothing special. Serivce was good though.

Stephanie Roberts

I've come here so many times and the service I got today was awful. We were seated in the sun, despite requesting shade. There were also ants crawling all over us. It's a heat wave and it's so hot, and there were also tons of empty tables in the shade. See photos. When we wanted to move, we were told they "usually tell people" about a no moving policy. They didn't tell us. When we asked further, they said that they'd have to reset the table because of covid. When my friend wanted to inquire further, they said they could move us to a table we'd have to vacate in 20 mins. It was the way they spoke to us that really upset our group. We left quickly afterwards and we were very shocked by how rude the hostess was. They were very rude and so we're taking our group elsewhere. Dissapointed.

T W

Hostess was curt and unwelcoming. Pasta Platter and drinks were great!

Pixie

Made a reservation and asked about the kids menu, when arrived they gave us a broken high chair, had to request another. Ordered from the kids menu but food wasn't cut up impossible for a young kid to eat. Service was poor and food was average.

Sonny Chee

Asked for bread and was told that it is better to save room for the food. Asked for bread again and was given foccicia with oil dip? What happened to Italian? It was very loud, and not the placed for an intimate conversation. Would not go back. What ever happened to Puccini's?

Edward Ruff

Romantic setting and ambiance. Service was great. I was disappointed with their Burrata as I never seen it served in this way. They actually cut it ans serve you the skin with a thin layer of the rest. It was ok. But they rest of that started dish was amazing. The prosciutto was amazing. We ordered Truffle spaghetti with mealballs oh my god it was just incredible. And the portion was very generous. We also had their lobster stuffed pasta but it was just ok. I highly recommend their Truffle spaghetti with mealballs. Their drinks were amazing too. I would definitely go back again.

Arman zaribafiyan

With the Italian Kitchen 2 Go closed, we went to the main front to do take out. They said yes and it would take about 5 minutes for the food. Excellent we thought as we were meeting up with someone down by the water. Well 30 minutes later, we finally got our sandwich... The only reason I'm providing 2 stars is they did acknowledge my wife was waiting (I was outside) and updated her that it was only going to be a few more minutes. At that, the sandwich was disappointing, falling apart and just not the same.

Serge Blazhievsky

very friendly staff. we were helped by Tyler, he made us feel comfortable and answered all the questing that we had. food was great

Greg Domville

I had a wonderful meal here at the Italian Kitchen, David took care of me during my visit. Great Italian food and an incredible staff. Will definitely be back.

American Diesel SA

Update: Still service is great, but food unfortunately has gone down in quality. Menu has changed since they moved, and sadly not for good. Pasta is still good but not remotely as good as it used to be. Old review: Wonderful service, really good food and awesome vibe. I go there regularly and I have never been disappointed. Thanks for your good food and awesome service. I sat at the bar tonight and Gabrielle was really nice and friendly to us. Aso both Pepe and Dylan were super friendly and gave us the best customer service and made sure we had fun. I'll definitely be back.

Amy Man

We stumbled across this restaurant walking through downtown and later found out after sitting down it is part of the Glowbal Restaurant Group. The outside patio is charming, the service was fantastic, and the food was delicious. I have never tried truffle spaghetti and meatballs and it was truly a treat. The mixture of the marinara and the truffle was an unexpectedly excellent combination. The gnocchi & Italian sausage hash was equally delicious. So impressed with the Glowbal Restaurant Group. Try Italian Kitchen if you are in the mood for Italian and Black + Blue if you want steak. Wish we could have tried all the restaurants in the group!!

Barbara Beamiss

Excellent food, taking care of every detail; wine was a perfect pairing, Hasan's menu recommendation was just perfect.

Gurvinder Gallian

Food is a bit bland, service is a bit slow, prices are a bit high but overall ok. Since their move, this restaurant is attracting a different crowd. It used to be young, energetic and fun. It’s now old and boring.

Andrew Baldwin

This is the new location. The interior is pretty and relfects more of an Italian theme. However the food quality and portion size has gone down while the prices went up. I was still hungry after my pasta meal. I personally wouldn't go back.

Harsh Otwani

This wasn’t good food. We ordered a tenderloin medium that came well done. We ordered veal and it came thick and breaded and tough. You order veal because it’s tender. This was exactly opposite. We sent the tenderloin back. A new one came back over cooked just slightly less than attempt #1. My family was already done with their food when it arrived. The only decent dish was my sons pasta bolonaise. Just a bad experience

Kathryn Anderson

We decided to check out the new location for Italian Kitchen. While we didn't have reservations, they were able to seat us at a lovely table for my partner's birthday right away. Yes I know what was I thinking...no reservations! Jerrod was our server and he was great. Provided us with some awesome recommendations for our drinks and dinner. Giovanni their amazing pasta chef also came by and had some wonderful recommendations. How can you go wrong when you know their pasta is made in house! We started with the Calamari Fritti appetizer. It was very light and quite delicious. I of course had a lovely glass of Prosecco to start while he chose an local craft beer. We both decided to have pasta as our main courses. I chose the Torchio alle Verdure which was amazing. The pasta was cooked perfected and it complemented the squash and other vegetables very well. He decided on the Paccheri Bolognese. Both were fantastic but he ended up liking mind more than his and I thought his was amazing...so it was a bit of a tie! Jerrod surprised us with tiramisu that had Happy birthday on it. Very impressed with the new location. Was a top dollar from start to finish! Will definitely be back soon!!!

North Shore Eater

LOVE this location! All dishes are amazing here. Best part though is the romantic and cozy patio of this restaurant. Great for a date night. The music is not loud and you can socialize while eating great food. I wish pasta had no carbs because I could go there ALL THE TIME!!

Namita Warier

Service and pastas were great! Bevies too. Hated the ladies washroom - small, dark, awkward and I had to bend down to use the hand dryer lol

Sara

NEW LOCATION! I went here based on memory and didn’t bother checking before paying for parking. Thankfully not too far from there previous location. Food is always delicious here and they treat you well

Tammy Kalvari

Great food and service! My 14oz steak + tasty calamari really hit the spot. I would highly recommend to everyone. Can be a bit of a wait if you don't have reservations but it's worth the wait! (Saturday)

Cathy

My partner and I went there for our anniversary and we couldn't have asked for a better night. Our server David was friendly and perfessional. The staff went above and beyond to make our night special. The food came out super quick and was the best Italian food we've had in a while. Not to meantion how amazing the dessert was. Highly recommend the deconstructed lemon meringue..it's almost to pretty to eat...but I'm glad we did cause it tasted as good as it looked. Highly recommend. Can't wait to come back.

Kathryn Millar

Great Italian restaurant, excellent food. Need more staff to serve customers a Little faster.

Danielle Macey

Took days to get reservations, so we thought it would be awesome. Ordered bottled of wine and it was vinegar. They exchanged it then we ordered a dinner for two and it was dinner for 8. Over cooked and under cooked. Way too pricey.

Jimmy Sam

Always consistently yummy and excellent service

Cecilia Teixeira

Fantastic food, fantastic service, fantastic wine. The truffle spaghetti meatballs literally might be one of the best things I have ever eaten. Love the tiramisu as well. Here under poor circumstances for a celebration of life, but fantastic job brining it all together, making everyone feel welcome. You guys are awesome!

Marissa Martha

Tried this place multiple times. Food is good. Value is ok. Setup is perfect for casual dinner or lunch. Operationally, they simply don't cut it. Not sure what the issue is but we usually wait over 45 minutes for our meal to arrive. Managers trying to avoid eye contact. It is a true process issue. The design of the menu is solid. They simply need a GM to run this place.

kane walker

Really recommend this place as you may have figured. It’s reputation matches the taste and do get a table having street view while enjoying your food! Maybe have to remind the waitress twice of your tea as they could be very busy

Elizabeth Coppola-Wilkinson

To pick up or to go, the food is always good. When the restaurant is crowded you might get forgotten at some times, but even then the service is good. I don't like that they don't include bread or anything extra when ordering food to go, and buying bread cost more than $10.

Roy

Outstanding cuisine with unique plates. The party platter is the way to go if you want a sampling of their finest pasta dishes. Carlos provide great service!

aashini kaushik

I have been here a few times now for lunch and dinner and its safe to say that this is one of my favorite Italian restaurants to go to. The service and ambiance is amazing. The food is great and well put together!

II4037man D

Fairly decent food, abysmal staff! There are many other options in Vancouver. Give Italian Kitchen a miss.

Cheyne Torrent

So so good! Amazing attentive staff. Great portions and the food was so tasty. I was a big fan of the truffle spaghetti & meatballs, risotto balls, truffle fries. Cocktails were all amazing as well. Great restaurant! Can’t wait to be back when it’s warm enough to sit on the patio

Jason Guilliams

Restaurant is beyond awful. Service is always bad, and food isnt good. Its commercial Italian food. 3 times now i have tried to give them a chance.

TN6

Italian kitchen blew us away . We ordered the Chicken Parmesan & Carbonara both came out hot and tasty. We will definitely be back again when visiting Vancouver . I highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for some delicious Italian food at a very fare price. Thank you Italian kitchen for making our experience one to remember.

Angela Limmer

Good food and great service. Beautiful place. Onsite parking (3.5 CADs). Recommended. I hope the Osobuco and big raviolis will come back.

Michelle Wright

Staff runs a tight ship on the service front, so there is nothing but complements on that front. (You go Madison!) Food is great as well, with all the flourish and pomp you'd expect for the location and the restaurant group. What's missing then? Just mainly personal taste I guess, the duck confit was tender, but the sauce heavy and just a little bland, which hits the target, but missing the mark exactly. The lamb was tender and moist, and the paste cooked to perfect al dente. No major misses and the experience is excellent, but for me it's on target, just not dead center. Tldr summary, great service, good food.

Carmen Yau

Visited on a busy Friday night with no reservations and managed to get a seat at the bar and watched the salad chefs. Service was excellent as was the food.

jessi major

Came here for my boyfriends birthday. My first time here and I was very impressed by the great service, especially from our server Brad! The food was great, we started with prosciutto followed by the fettuccine bolognese and truffle …

Paul Croes

This is one of my goto places for summer evening eats. Love the atmosphere. The pasta dishes are so fresh and tasty. Service is always top notch.

James Qiu

Service was amazing. Wine selection leaves you spoiled for choice. Food....omg....you must try the spaghetti with truffles amd meatballs.

Sarah Third

Had the duck confit gnocchi and it was pretty good. Love the atmosphere at this restaurant. Will be sad when it's closed

Nicole Pinzarrone

Great food and service. It was extremely busy and we were still looked after by our waiter. This is probably the cheapest of the glowbal restaurants.

M B

First of all, you guys have the BEST servers and I say this as a server myself. Me and my friend came in for dinner and were first given a table inside therefore we had the chance to meet Hassan. Although we only had a short interaction with him I can say that he is great at his job and goes above and beyond. Great first impression. We then switched our table for one in your gorgeous patio and had the most delightful experience. Our server outside was wonderful as well. I was a bit shocked by the amount of food that we got but we shared so maybe that's why. (we got the pasta dish with lobster?) This has been my second time at Italian kitchen and will recommend to everyone!!!!!!

Jamie Kim

The new location is great! Tried out your gnocchi and tiramisu for the first time and they were delicious :)

Kevin Whalan

I was anxious to try the new location because it used to be one of my favourite restaurants in town and used to go there all the time, but the new restaurant has an awful quality of food. Although the place is more beautiful and nicer but Pastas are disappointing in taste and quality. We tried three and all were bad. Not even as good as cheap Italian eateries in east van. Seafood salad was ok. Unfortunately I wouldn’t go back.

Franke James

Amazing food with an excellent environment. One of my favourite Italian restaurants!

Aurora Van Roon

Beautiful Italian restaurant with wonderful staff. The menu is gorgeous with all dishes homemade. The difference in taste between fresh pasta is second to none. We came for lunch and had a beautiful meal for a very reasonable price. Would highly recommend for a date night inside as the decor is to die for. Great for groups also.

Melissa Caruso

Was amazing service from Sheila, great space and food was amazing! Very large portions. Favorite was the white truffle pasta

Joshua Tiong

Italian kitchen has been my go-to place for dinner with family and friends for almost a decade. Friday night however, a series of issues occurred that resulted in complete disappointment and I will not be dining at this place again. My family and I were celebrating a graduation and had made reservations weeks ago. We were sat in the back at a very awkward table next to the serving station. Several of the chairs were half on the carpet and half on the tile, which made them tip. The server took over 20 minutes to serve beverages after ordering. A bottle of prosecco was also at the table when we arrived (we had no idea why but assumed someone in the party had organized this). When it came time to pay, we did so without much scrutiny of the bill. As we were about to leave, a staff member came over and said the entrees hadn't been included on our bill and we needed to pay again - ok sure. So we did. That entire exchange the staff made it seem like it was somehow our fault for not noticing that the bill was incorrect. Fast forward to the next day, and the restaurant calls to say we were charged for the prosecco, which was supposed to have been paid for ahead of time by someone who called the restaurant to set up that suprise. So the restaurant says they will refund the amount back to the card that paid for dinner. We ask if we could also be refunded the tip amount, which was substantial on a bottle of alcohol. The staff says it would be "too much of a hassle to go through the bill and figure that out". Are you kidding me? You get our bill wrong. You're rude about being bad at your job. You bill an item to our bill that was carefully planned out ahead of time as a suprise. And you won't refund the appropriate amount. I'm incredibly disappointed and frankly blown away that the staff at this restaurant are so incapable. To top all of this off, not a single apology was given in person or over the phone. Italian kitchen has officially lost the business of myself, my friends, my family, and hopefully anyone reading this review. Go somewhere else, Vancouver has a plethora of awesome Italian food.

James Ong

Really great food, a great ambience and great service from everyone, especially our server Dave!

Ana Paula Costa

Great customer service, soothing environment and delicious food. I really enjoyed my meal here. I love the take out bag they provide too haha!

Harman Grewal

We sat on the patio for a birthday dinner and were served a set menu. The bread was delicious and easily the best thing I ate. The salad was average, the crab stuffed salmon was under seasoned and the martini I had was too salty, but the tiramisu was excellent! The outdoor heaters weren’t working and we weren’t offered blankets, it made for an uncomfortable experience. Overall not my favorite place to dine but the outdoor decor is beautiful! I imagine it would be a much better experience on a warmer evening.

Lu Gouver

Celebrated our 54th anniversary. Staff was awesome, food was delicious and patio was a perfect atmosphere. We will definitely return.

Food was incredible, experience however was the reason of such a low rating. We came in on Valentine's Day and at the end of the night we're going to use a $100 Global giftcard for a portion of our bill, when she showed our server she said they are having trouble with giftcards and it won't work. This is something that could've been communicated to us over email or phone number as a reminder as they had that information for the reservation. The manager came by to apologize and explain why it wasn't working which doesn't do anything for me. I was told "Next time you come in we will make it nice for you" which is a joke, there won't be a next time. Even a small gesture of covering the dessert would've been nice. I will be contacting head office and requesting something in return as we don't want to eat out at this restaurant again.

Atmosphere is great for dates or intimate dining, food is delicious...try the Short Rib Ravioli...highly recommended. A little pricey, but you are Downtown so...

The Holistic Tale

Quality was great butthe service was just okay for over 500 dollar order.

Elisa C

The food was excellent and the service was one of the best in Vancouver. Everyone was really nice and friendly, from the girls at the reception, to the waiter and table staff. Plates came at the same time (there were three of us and we are used to have to wait a while for everyone’s food to arrive, even in “fancy” places. Not here. They brought the plates at the same time and they didn’t have to ask “who was eating what”. Superb service and excellent timing. When we were leaving, everyone on our way out greeted us, with a friendly smile and “thanks for coming”. Top experience if you want to have great food and top notch service in Vancouver.

C Hu

went for date and the place is a perfect choice for that. Advanced booking is highly recommended as the place gets really busy on the weekend evening. I am not sure if it's possible to book the exact table in advance. If so then booking a table on the second floor would be better choice.

Diana Choi

This place is so amazing! As soon as you walk in you can definitely feel the warmth of the simple yet elegant decor. Service staff is fantastic and super accommodating. With 2 young kids sometimes it's a challenge to find a restaurant with great seating options. We felt super safe with their covid screen set up. The food was so delicious, we had the beef carpaccio, table side linguine cacio e pepe and the seafood linguine.... AMAZING! The general manager Amir was fantastic and came by to say hi us! Top notch! Definitely recommend this place!

N HAYER

Reservation process was fairly easy and we got our table as soon as we got there even though it was a busy Saturday night! The food was mediocre for the price and our server was very disrespectful and rude. They also make you sign a waiver and charge you $4 if you want to bring in a bday cake and use their fridge. I would not recommend this place to anyone would not go back.

The Health Bites

They had given our reservation away to another walk in group. No courtesy call to let us know. I’d tried to call the restaurant multiple times the same day to check the status of our reservation but was put on hold without reply every time. The lady that was seating us was rude. They were able to seat us but at an outdoor table and it was too cold. An awful experience unfortunately. I only give it 2 stars because our server was good. Otherwise a 1.

Robert Holland

Great atmosphere and even greater food!

Sandeep Dhillon

I love this place and its one of my favorite restaurants to take a girl out. The starters are amazing: the cheeses, bread, the meat slices and olives. Also, the pasta is just delicious. The place is situated on a great street with large windows. Its a romantic place for the women for sure.

Terry Dell

Good food , felt a bit rushed but overall a solid place to connect with friends.

Gabrielle

This place is packed all the time and I just don't get it. Food is awful and we have tried it 3 times. Seafood pasta was fishy. The only thing I can say is atmosphere is nice and servers are great. Not authentic Italian tasting at all.

Rajdeep Brar

Food was exceptional, recurved some cold service from our waiter which put a little bit of a sour taste in our mouth, he was very clearly rushing us and we had to call him over every time we needed something as he never came back... I wanted another drink and dessert but he dropped the bill and walked away, I will return but I will ask to move tables if sat in his section again.

The truffle spaghetti is so good. Miss the old location as it has a better vibe and atmosphere but the food is still as good as always

susan moore

Had Valentine's Day share plates-great food and staff were awesome. Highly recommended for a great evening with your significant other.

Davy Wyllie

Disappointed. We used to go to the old location where they had their old menu. It was fantastic. New location, new menu. Food quality went down and prices went up. My boyfriend and I loved their signature spaghetti & meatballs with truffles, which used to be $21. Now they give a lot less cream and truffles, at $26. I had their Paccheri Bolognese, which was supposed to be boar but there was barely any meat in it, mostly tomato sauce. Service was just ok, gave us very little amount of bread and never asked to refill our drinks, had to wait and flag someone down for it. Overall, not impressed for the price we paid. The food and service was much better before the move. Would not come back unfortunately.

Janna Moran

Truffle spaghetti with Meatballs an outstanding dish. Best kids meal we've ever had - Crispy skin salmon and roast Veges. I'm giving them 5 stars just for that. We're so used to getting rubbish for kids meals. A lovely restaurant and we were well looked after.

I have been to Italian Kitchen many times in the past with my partner and a couple of times with a friend. I know it is quite expensive place but the food and service has always been beyond excellent. However the last two times we visited this place, and specially last time (Valentine's Day) we were deeply dissatisfied with almost everything. As soon as I walked in the reception ladies at the door scanned me from head to toe in a manner I can only assume is for judging purposes. Then we sat and ordered a sharing platter to start and a drink. The drink was OK, but too heavy on the ice and what we got from from the kitchen was just the most disappointing of all. Everything but the lettuce in that platter was deep fried covered in batter, including the olives. The whole thing was swimming in grease. We started eating only because we were starving at this point and lunch being the last meal we didn't have the energy to even say a word, but we saw the dissatisfaction in each other as we started to realize how bad this food really was. To top all of these off, the bar tender grabbed my drink without asking, looked at it and decided I was finished and emptied whatever was left in the glass. What was supposed to be a romantic dinner on Valentines turned out to be a night of regret. We ended up going for dessert at the chocolate place next to the restaurant cause we couldn't even see an attractive dessert on their menu. Conclusion: Paid premium and tipped handsomely for what we could only describe as pub food and fast food restaurant service and deeply sorry to say that I am not planning on going back to Italian Kitchen again.

Arden Powell

Comparing to all other italain restaurants the meal didn't have anything in it except alfredo sauce that you could buy from store , for sure it wast made by Italian cook who knows how to cook italian dish. not any vegetable not even an olive oil ,if you usually eat Italain food,I dont recommend this place . The price was high for its quality.

Joel Campbell

Stellar service, nailed the food. I think we had an off bottle of wine as the 2nd of the same vintage was much better. Also much gratitude for happily accommodating food restrictions.

Shane Delaney

What a beautiful restaurant located on Burrard Street. The appys were delicious and the main was super yummy!!! Loved the gnocchi, spot on!

Delicious food served by very friendly and efficient staff Comfortable and very relaxing atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

The appetizer, wait staff and dessert were amazing. Be aware though... I had the tomato seafood soup for my meal and they didn't tell me it was VERY spicy. (Neither did the menu). That's why only 4 stars....

Mohammad Emami

Great tastes and nice restaurant.

Marta Lamperti

Amazing service! Our waitress, Emily was very friendly and sweet! Helped us pick the best wine. Second time coming to this restaurant and yet again amazing experience! Best service ever!!! Thanks Emily!

Ramjowon Sandhu

Best Italian food in Vancouver. Loud atmosphere. Expect the servers to be pretentious...you're on Alberni. Good wine selection. Often the chef will come ask how it is, especially if you try the specials. They also come around with little tasters of things on the menu or Italian appys. Nice touch. We had poor service from a rude server and a bland lunch special (when they did chicken parm sanny on fridays) and wrote them about it. They invited us back for a 3 course meal and glass of wine on them! Earned a loyal customer for life.

Sabrina Silk

One of our favourite restaurants in Vancouver, if not the most. The food is amazing, and the service is spot on. Just make reservations a few days ahead due to this place being so popular!

Tali Grenzberg

The night view from the restaurant was gorgeous and romantic. We enjoyed cute Tiramisu (No coffee flavour. ) Pasta was decent. We put too much cheese on the pasta lol but it was good.

Alexander Liu (al2006)

Delicious at reasonable prices. Try the spaghetti and meatballs! Bustling place. Pleasant service. Heated outdoor patio.

Reda Escaros

This restaurant is beautiful, the ambiance the service is great. Good place to sit down and enjoy a fancy dinner with someone special! However I think the food did not live up to the expectations. I think the food used too much oils and fats to the point where I felt it overpowered the taste of the actual food. Oils in Italian cuisine should be used to add to the flavour, and help bring out more flavours from other ingredients.

Georgee Low

Delicious and authentic Italian cuisine with friendly and attentive service. Semi- upscale setting where casual is acceptable. Negroni was spot on, the pasta ragu was super tasty and just the right size, and the tiramisu was light and heavenly. Definitely worth a try!

Teresa Dziobon

The restaurant is very cozy. Our English is very basic, so we had a great help from a Brazilian guy called Pedro. He explained us the entire menu.

Sarah Chung

Food and drinks are amazing and their outdoor patio area is perfect

Sara Tabet

The place was packed but they found a seat for us, very out of the way at the end of the stretch of outdoor seating. Even though we were almost outside the restaurant, they were incredibly attentive, checking on us often and at useful times, never annoying. They were fairly full, but our food was up way before we would have expected it, even with a modification to one of the dishes. The food was excellent with nice presentation. Everyone we interacted with was wonderful. Can't say enough good things.

Coco L

Came here for valentines day and was so satisfied with every dish on their vday sharing menu. Their lobster cheesewheel pasta was the highlight for sure! Only wished we knew we had to specify/request for the garden patio section when i selected patio on the booking site, but still will definitely come back for the cheese wheel pasta again!

Alina Andreichyk

A gentleman introduced himself as the owner and with a RUDE TONE and told us he would “REMOVE US” from the restaurant. Absolutely shocked by the way I was treated at this restaurant, worst experience ever in Vancouver. I made a reservation for 8:30, upon arrival I was told to wait while table was being prepared, 8:45 nobody had addressed the issue and table was still occupied. Upon complains at 8:50 the owner introduced himself and instead of calming us down and providing customer service threatened us and said he would REMOVE US from the restaurant. Very unprofessional, and he utilized a very rude language and tone to speak with us. My guests had to stay in their car for 30 minutes and I had to dine here despite their terrible handling of the situation. They ruined our much-anticipated night out with friends. They have no respect for their clients. I’ll never come back again.

Aurore Colliaux

Fantastic restaurant. Fantastic experience. Hussan was our waiter here and was truly wonderful!

Janus Weng

The quail and sablefish were absolutely amazing. I was especially excited to try the parmesan foam in the quail dish and it definitely didn’t disappoint. If I ever go back to Vancouver, I’ll definitely visit again.

Great food and decor. Really would give it a high rating. Servers were great under the circumstances. But beware they charge a “covid fee” of 1.50$ per person in your party. Completely unacceptable in my opinion. Everyone is strapped for cash, (half of our table is laid off) and after being treated like I’m eating in a hospital for 2 hours the last thing I want to do is pay extra for the experience. Won’t be back and will take my hard earned money elsewhere with no made up fee being tacked on.

Jean Arnold

Looks fancy but the food was rather meh. My veal Milanese was basically a battered thick pork chop, and the salad that came with it was hot (clearly left under a heat lamp). For the price, I’d rather eat at a stand-alone rather than a chain.

Manpreet Dhillon

I'm not sure what I think about cabbage in pasta. Pasta too El dente but probably because all the dishes were made to wait for a 20+ top table. Ambience is nice but a bit loud. Best dish is the signature meatball with truffle sauce.

Hamed Moshref

Was wonderful. great pizza and great service. Thanks for accommodating us with the baby on short notice.

Kemila Zsange

Professional service and overall good experience. Food is average to my liking 3/5 Food presentation is on point.

The pasta dishes are fresh and tasty. Server was nice and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience.I will come back.

Vincent Henes

I like the Italian Kitchen. Food is good but some food is so salty! And There is not enough space between the tables.

river jiang

The food was not upto level....And such bad customer service! We being completely vegetarians ordered something and informed clearly that we are vegetarians and the waiter took note of it. In our dish I felt something not edible/ chew-able so i removed from my mouth and asked the waiter what was it. He dint know what it was and so he asked a bunch of other staff about it and the manager came and told us " Its nothing to worry, It was the outer layer of an onion." Hell no, Firstly I know how an outer layer of onion looks like, To me it looked like some bone sort of plastic thing which i couldn't chew . Secondly I was so freaked out by the thought that maybe it was a bone in my mouth... they dint accept their fault nor made any customer satisfaction attempts. I walked out of the place hungry and completely disappointed, with a ruined evening.

Sydney Gloster

I was excited to eat here due to my brother recently going and speaking highly of the place - this review is not about the restaurant itself, but about the customer service I received. I called on the day of my reservation (a birthday dinner) and asked if they could accommodate another person (so 5, instead of 4). I was polite, friendly, and asking to speak to a manager for the accommodation after the person who answered the phone told me no. Not only was she blunt and rude, she scolded me for having called the restaurant "3 times," when really it was my friend who had called the other two - and even denied my request to speak to a manager. I totally understand capacity, but my entire birthday dinner was cancelled. We could have still come and left the fifth person behind, but due to her sheer rudeness I will not be a paying customer in the future. I stayed polite and friendly throughout the entire phone call, but her attitude was extremely out of place for the situation. I'm not one to leave reviews, but that experience was disheartening and not the type of customer service I'd expect from a high end restaurant.

Larry Lindberg

Excellent service and great food. Had a lovely happy hour spritzer.

Martina Krebs

We got catering for a work lunch which basically consisted of multiple portions in a larger serving dish. The food was a hit and particularly the truffle pasta with meatballs and the eggplant parm. They were accommodating and professional. I'm confident eating at the restaurant will yield equivalent levels of satisfaction.

KCT

Great ambience and eye-pleasing venue, augmented by excellent service and friendly staff. Although the food itself doesn't entice too many taste buds, the overall experience is great for one-on-one or romantic occasions.

Sheila Friesen

Truffle Spaghetti and Meatballs were amazing!

Cecil Kim

Just a deception! After they moved to a new location, It seems the menu has changed and wasn't so good as before. Not going back, expensive for something that is not worthy. The focaccia bread was good by the way...

Wilo Toro

Ambiance is great, and the menu had numerous items to choose from. Price are within reason, and food was delicious. I went here for the first time because my friend invited me, and it was impressive. This would be one of those restaurants I would go for if I have certain cravings.

Robert Kent DesRochers

I had high expectations of this place. We came here for New Years Eve. The staff was super nice and service was great. However, the pasta is the worst I have ever tried in my life. We got the carbonara and it was EXTREMELY salty and no flavour. We ordered some appetizers and nothing special for the price. Would never come back

Marie

We visited the Italian Kitchen while in the city for a work/play trip during a HAC convention. We were dressed casually as we were on an evening walk- getting out of our hotel with our 1 year old. We thought we would explore the city a bit and find somewhere to eat after a busy few days. The hostess was very rude, she acted inconvenienced at having to seat us (outside, with a baby). Upon hearing we did not have a reservation, she rolled her eyes and sulkily snatched two menus and lead us over to a table. No smile, hostile and cold, a stark contrast from her persona with a gentleman a second before. It seems she assumes a guest’s position based on their attire. The inside seemed to only have a few tables occupied. No issues with the service/server. The food was average. Not bad, nothing special. The atmosphere seemed to be reaching. We ate our meals in the cold after the hostess gave us the solid impression that we were not welcome and that there was no room inside. I felt embarrassed and uncomfortable- but we genuinely needed to eat and were already there. Italian Kitchen was our least favourite experience of the many restaurants we sampled during our time in Vancouver. It filled our stomachs, but it wasn’t remotely enjoyable.

Sergio Orejarena

We went here for celebrating my birthday. Although there were more than 7-8 waiters pretending to work hard and moving back and forth to put glasses and napkins on empty tables, nobody didn’t pay attention to us for more than 10 minutes( until we left)! In the whole restaurant there were 5 tables occupied. The waiters were rude and negligent, so we felt very bad and left the place. We will never come back to this restaurant! I believe the management is asleep, in this way they will loose customers...I wish I could give them a big “zero”! A very bad experience.... Never go there, unless you don’t respect yourself!

Tamara Banks

I am torn on how to rate this restaurant. The evening started off well. Our waitress helped us choose a salad to start (we couldn't decide) and explained the gluten free options. If you're celiac, they have GF pasta, which is nice. The salad tasted okay. It wasn't anything special. When our main courses arrived, two new people sat at the table next to us. It was clear that one of them was a celebrity, as champagne was instantly brought out, and soon after, complimentary appetizers. Call me green-eyed all you want, but this made the pasta I was paying for not as appetizing. Previously, when our waitress asked if we were celebrating anything, we mentioned that it was my boyfriend's birthday. Despite this, we received no special treatment, not even a free scoop of gelato for dessert. I guess you have to be famous to receive the best service... I'm giving this place two stars because the food was okay, but the difference in service between our table and the one beside us left a sour taste in my mouth.

Olga Blom

Very professional and fun gentleman who served us .. If you want a good service, ask for a table where a low gentleman serves :D

Richard Bilski

Although this place is a bit pricey, it was definitely worth the splurge! My mom and I went here and both of us loved it!! They were very accommodating to the fact that she is gluten-free and dairy-free as well!!

Aa Aa

My only negative experience was trying to find parking but that was expected. Great food, great service. I'll be back for sure

Lukas Xu

Another phenomenal dinner tonight. It was a spur of the minute walking by visit with a buddy tonight. Great service, amazing wine and of course the food was ridiculously good! You never disappoint! Thank you again.

Suzanne Coombs

All staffs are kind. Taste is good but everything’s so expensive because there are a little bit meat inside.

Libby Park Herman

My family used to love going to Italian kitchen on Alberni. We decided to go for mother's day dinner this year and we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately the food was such a let down. We had three different types of pastas and the veal entree and every single one of them were so bland. The veal looked like like white sludge and despite the fact that there were so many different proponents in the dish, it all tasted the same. It seems as if all their food is mass produced now and there's very little care that goes into the dishes. The only things worth ordering were the donuts and Brussel sprouts side dish. Food is definitely not worth the price. There are plenty of other local pasta places Vancouver has to offer. Go to Il Giardino for fancy pasta or ask for Luigis for casual eats

Robert Shum

If I do not write the truth of my experience on my BD; then my new year will be a false start. My fiancé joined me to celebrate with me. She really did not want mr to waste my time to express my complete dissatisfaction with our waitress. Although, I admit it really did have a bearing on the dinner. The food was okay, but not as good as the Italian restaurant on Burrard St., Vancouver. Satisfied many times their with food and service. Which leaves me bewildered why the restaurant was so busy. Non the less, Italian food is good and few options to choose from makes me more frustrated. Long story short; should have been a good time, as we definitely wanted to celebrate the milestone. Now the experience will not let me get a follow up, because of the service. Which does not have to be the best thing ever and the experience should have been much better.

Richard Kiefl

Great restaurant If you're in the mood for Italian food. I've been here many times and the food is fantastic, service is even better.

Carla Cabrera

Nice place, great service. Portions were a bit on the small side. Had the table side pasta cooked out of a parmesan wheel (linguine cacio o pepe) and while it was good, the portion was lacking for $52. Would go again but probably would get something else.

Sara Naderi

One of the best interiors and extra ordinary customer service is what distinguishes Italian kitchen from many other restaurant in the same area. I find their seats very comfortable and availability of all cutlery is great. Menu is quite diverse , especially the wine collection. Platter of cheese with house special wine can make your day or night but go ahead and try the salads on the menu , oyesters, seafood pasta or just bruchetta and you will notice the typical italian flavours being used. I was drooling over the beat salad perfectly soft and tangy. Very clean and spacious bathrooms, full on drinks bar and seating on the bar is to the side from rest of the dinning area. Cherry on top was the tiramisu desert at the end of the meal.

Linda Ng Thomson

Truffled Spaghetti & Signature Meatballs is delicious, the Carne Piatto is my other favorite dish from here. The Margherita pizza is decent but not great, per se Social Corner, Nook and Village Taphouse have better pizza imo. Atmosphere is great for meetings, or taking a date. Service is excellent.

Service and food were very good. This is a very busy restaurant on Friday evenings. Great ambiance.

Caitlyn Bogaerts

Good food, TERRIBLE SERVICE; out of the 5 or 6 servers they have you dont make 1. They were just talking and walking in circles without doing nothing. Place was cold and music is bad. Dont waste your time going here there are plenty of options in Vancouver with better service!!!!

Daniel Houghton

Good service. Nice ambiance. Food presentation is superb. Taste great. The idea of sharing via various platters is excellent.

Abhishek Maheshwaram

Excellent service, excellent pasta, average tiramisu and very good doughnuts. Had the pasta platter- worth the price, can be shared by 3-5 depending on appetite. Had the meatball, duck and vegetarian- each turned out very good.

Andrew Kershaw

One word: opulent. The place makes you feel like royalty as soon as you walk in, and you get your dollars worth for the quality of rustic Italian food you get. This is a place to impress a date or for a special celebration, because this isn't your typical restaurant.

Jessica Reddick Gatlin

Excellent food and generally good service. Can get busy in the evenings so be prepared to wait a bit or make a reservation. Sitting upstairs is like sitting in a different restaurant - don't do it. Wait for a table to open up on the ground floor. Ask the server if there is a risotto, it's not on the menu but they have it for sides and shared platters so they can usually put something together for you and if you are looking for lunch they have a take-out menu that is excellent and reasonably priced too!

Thai Truong

We had just flown in from the UK and were looking for a quick meal, the service was excellent even a very tired 8-year-old was very happy with his pizza. We had the pasta platter to share between 2 and the lamb pappardelle was especially tasty. Very reasonable pricing, great all-round experience!

Banafsheh Razzaghi (Bonnie)

Was absolutely wonderful Food was fantastic . Service was outstanding. Would recommend highly

D. Turned.

Amazing staff. Loved the atmosphere. I had the truffled spaghetti and fell in love with it. As i'm vegetarian they made it with the mushrooms instead of meatballs.

Jenna

The space is familiar as it was Don Francesco's, which is a plus. Table service needs to step up a bit, along with the bread being lackluster, the kitchen though is turning out fantastic product. I had the lamb which looked and tasted wonderfull. The sable fish got only a "fine" for taste, but was plated nicely. Pleasent evening was had.

Ana Martins (Ana Martins)

Pathetic. When the manager and staff lie to customers you cannot expect them to not cheat you while serving food. They are really really mean. I am vegetarian and they served me food with bone in it which I found when I ate. When I asked the staff abt it they tried to fool me as if I was a toddler. Shame on them. I would never ever trust them and god knows what they are putting in food and how can you trust their served food. Shame on them and shame on the staff.

Roop Sharda

Food was incredible, as was our server, Dave. Further, their Covid protocols in place helped us to feel at ease.

Abhishek Reddy Dandu

Italian kitchen is just superb! Everything was amazing here! Well the patio ambience is okay but service was amazing. But I just love the truffle spaghetti so much it is very recommended. The meatballs are okay since I personally love ask for luigi’s more. However, the spaghetti is just too amazing! The linguine is awesome as well but I love the spaghetti more! The tiramisu is italian’s kitchen popular dessert and it was super amazing too, but I love the limoncello lava cake more. The limoncello would make you speechless. Come here and try it! Very recommended and would definitely come back here again!

Who knew their bunch would be so good? We were going somewhere else but they were closed so we stumbled across this place. I'd been for dinner on their old location... The menu was interesting.. And different (we each could have ordered 3 different things!) I settled on the gnocchi and Italian sausage hash.... Poached eggs were cooked perfectly. Just runny enough to bring it all together. My mate got the eggs Benny. It was on a biscuit and with Italian bacon/prosciutto... He said it was delicious. We both cleaned our plates. I had an Italian sunset adult beverage, also very tasty, though pricey.

Warren K

I went at lunch on a work day and had heard good things about this place. I ordered their special lobster/shrimp ravioli but it was dry and not very good. The sauce didn't really taste like anything. I am sure this place is good for dinner, it could have been just that one day.

Anthony Wong

Awesome service and amazing experience. Enjoyed their Happy Hour dishes tonight. Only thing I was disappointed with was the calamari. The batter did not stay on and it was just left all on the bottom of bowl.

Moe Omar

While the interior looked a little dated, the food was delicious and the service was great. We had the truffle spaghetti and bucatini carbonara. Also the food came out very quickly. Would come here again!

Sylvain Laroche

I experienced bliss eating sumptuous scallops lobster and prawns in the seafood feticcini. This was my first meal following liquid and soft food diet recovering from surgery.

Not the best authentic Italian restaurant in town but a good central location and fair choices. Very pricy for a mainstream Italian restaurant but there are many great authentic Italian restaurant choices within 5 minutes walk from this …

Chris B

The food is incredibly good. Nice staff

Graham Goodwin

The food didn't get 5 stars just because the calamari was overcooked and very tough. The rest of it was quite good. However - it's the service that will make or break a restaurant in my opinion. And this is where I give Italian Kitchen 5 stars. The service and the attention given was excellent! I would return based on service alone. I didn't get the name of our waitress, but she was fantastic. And the attention provided by who I assume was the manager, was also really appreciated. Thanks for making the night that much more enjoyable!

Rob Anderson

The food was outstanding as always. The service was painfully slow and as we were hosting a business dinner the absent service became embarrassingly neglectful.

NC

My all time favourite Italian restaurant. Their pasta are amazing!! Their Truffle spaghetti with mealballs is must-try (it is not like ordinary spaghetti with meatballs). Their beef carpaccio is also delicious. Their Service is excellent and the atmosphere is romantic. It’s perfect for special occasions too - I recently came here for our wedding anniversary as well as my birthday (thank you for the birthday dessert cake!). They followed CoVID-restriction strictly and we felt safe. I highly recommend this restaurant if you crave for delicious spaghetti/pasta. Their portions are generous, and I usually take the leftover home for the next day lunch - love it !! :)

William Bailey

It was a very average experience. The thing that stood out the most was our table. We sat on the first floor in a round table, and it was literally rental table with table cloth where our plates were so sliding off the table. C'mon guys, buy new tables. Food took very long to come (about 1hour) and portions are small. Not worth the hype.

Anu Nair

We went to there for Branch. Actually we want to go for lunch time. I was going to have a spaghetti, there is not spaghetti for branch.but it was great:)good food and staff was very nice.

Maysa Kilani

one of the best restaurant to have dinner with friends. good food, nice environment, fantastic host.

Nicole cadiente

Here with a staff party. Great place :)

Ordered two pasta dishes from here on Doordash. The portion size of one was extremely small, the pasta was less than mediocre and the price was exorbitant. Paid over $30 for alfredo penne with chicken and it was such a small amount we were shocked and thought it was a mistake. It was less than half the amount provided in our other dish of linguine. There are so many better Italian restaurants in the city that offer delivery. This place needs to get its act together.

Arron Ferguson

We went here to celebrate two birthdays. I really liked the larger round table we were seated at so that we could share the dishes, family-style. We had an antipasto platter to start which was enough for the 5 of us. We shared the veal scallopine, sablefish, buccatini carbonara, truffle spaghetti and meatballs, and seafood linguine. Everything was excellent, with the sablefish and spaghetti being the two standout dishes. Dessert was good as well. They had a very good wine selection and some great cocktails as well. Our server, Victoria, was delightly friendly and attentive, and made our dining experience 'that much better.

Jorge Antunes

Excellent! No complaints! I got the Chicken Parmesan and it exceeded my expectations. Only draw back is that my dish was slightly too oily, but the taste was excellent. Highly recommend and very much worth the price!

M Schembri

Wonderful meal with superb service. Must return on our next trip to Vancouvrt.

I would give 3-star to this because the food quality is okay — slightly below average. I’d give this 3 stars. However, I’ll give two stars due to unclean bathrooms and lack of paper towels.

Shweta R Moddi

Had a very nice evening for a good friends birthday. Waitress was attentive and had very good suggestions, when we were indecisive. Certain foods we're a lil bland, ( burrata salad and the risotto con funghi) but I rather have less than more. Shrimp scampi pasta was the highlight of the night! Made in house, and u can taste the difference. And the tiramisu cake, moist and delicious.

It was a very pleasant evening me and my husband spent yesterday at Italian kitchen. There was no option for vegan or vegetarian food but they considered our choices as per our requirements which was great. I had risotto with veggies on the side and my husband had penne arrabbiata. I like the atmosphere, food presentation, service was great, desserts were amazing, love the gelato & sorbet it was yummy! Hope they will add pizza options and some items for vegetarians. Will surely visit again soon. ????????

Food is bliss By Rishi Thakrar

I really was hoping for something special here. Considering the reviews, prices and word of mouth this place has. Everything looked great, but flavours were average at best. Veal was chewy. Pasta was...bland. Service was good and atmosphere was nice. But, I came for a great meal and got...forgettable.

James Chung

Excellent food. Nice ambiance. A bit on the pricey side.

Peter Farrant

Will always be one of my top restaurants!! They have a good variety of food and a decent portion for a good price! definitely recommended

Scott Thomas

Had a wonderful lunch date with my girl. Love the appetizer and the seafood salad is super delicious ???? great restaurant, excellent services and tasty foods with reasonable prices!

goran arsic

We went in for a Valentine’s Day lunch and were immediately greeted by Jack the bartender. After we were seated and enjoying our meal Jack came over a few times to check in. He really made our experience memorable. Not only is he polite and friendly but he was quick and went out of his way to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. If you’re ever in the area, stop in to say, “hi” to Jack!!!

Peter Salomonsson

Amazing food and atmosphere. We had a great table looking down on the street. Antipasti misto was beautiful, delicious and enough for 4. Seafood linguini was superb. Just what we needed after a long exciting day out exporting Vancouver.

Jake K

Awesome service!!! Had family from out of town and brought them here for dinner and they loved it!!! Highly recommend and will visit again for sure. My mouth is watering thinking about their pasta.

Barb McDaniel

The chicken parmigiana was not consistent with the previous times we had it. No bad but not the same. The Manager exchanged for us and they got it right the second time. The service and atmosphere were good. Overall, it is a good restaurant.

arpan jain

So gross. I couldn't finish my meal even though it was tiny portions because it was so buttery and the ravioli filling tasted weird. Expensive as hell, loud with tables too close together. Wouldn't go back that's for sure.

Tsukasa Shigihara

3.5 for the dish and 4 for the overall restaurant. We had lunch here and tried the Cacio e Pepe with lobster. It was tasty but not an authentic Cacio e Pepe because the cheese used was not pecorino. Also, there was very little black pepper taste. The pasta was a wheat semolina, the lobster pieces were thinly sliced and mixed into the pasta. Toppings were shaved truffles and a salty egg yolk. The table side service was fine but the pasta & sauce were already pre-mixed in the kitchen already in and brought to the table so by the time it was placed in the large cheese bowl for some more mixing, the dish was not warm anymore. The dish was fine but not something we would order again. The service was great. The restaurant is clean, including clean washrooms, which to me is a good indication that there is good hygiene in the kitchen.

Scott Miller

Food was good until the main entry came which was alright-- I asked for pepper and parmesan and was told to hold on and wait " Server-- I only have two hands". But this was not the main issue. The service was at best sub par.... we had to wait 15 minutes for a drink. Empty plates sat in front of us for 10 min and I literally asked for water twice—to no avail. I then asked for the bill… another 5 min for him to return-- again without water!! Happy to pay and leave.

Brendan Maidment

Great service and atmosphere. Thought it was quite pricey for the portions offered and the menu was limited - not one vegetarian antipasto option? The by-the-glass wine list is short, similarly expensive and lacking any stand out choices. It wouldn't be my first or second choice for Italian in Vancouver, when there are so many others out there bringing inventive and mouth-watering food to the table.

Sarah L

Great service from Adrian. Food was delicious and accommodated our friend with allergies. Definitely a repeat place

steve m

Came here for my bday and its was really great. The intro salad of the day was kinda weak but the main we ordered was very good and the service was excellent, wait staff even brought out dessert for me with a candle, over all a good experience!

Meg M

I've had some off putting experiences at Glowbal Group restaurants over the years. However, I recently went to Italian Kitchen when I was missing a key ingredient for something I was making for dinner and the grocery store had sold out. The manager and chef graciously accommodated me and my odd request, and provided me with ingredient without question. A few days later, I ordered takeout from the same location. The spaghetti and meatballs were excellent, gluttonous, but excellent. Well done.

Adriana García

Amazing service , had the table side served truffle lobster pasta cooked in the cheese wheel. Really rich in flavour and generous truffle. Great place for date night! Will Visit again to try more dishes on the menu.

jjmjjm 12

This visit was very positive. The spicy spaghetti and meatballs were done well and served quickly. The ambience was energetic but not too loud and the wine prices very reasonable. The server was very attentive as well.

Phil Moi

A delicious Italian meal with excellently paired wine and decadent dessert. Wish they were closer to home in Tri-cities! We'll definitely be back - now on our list of favorite restaurants. They were compliant with BC Health orders and took their responsibility seriously ????

Siriwan Songprasert

Amazing meal and service tonight! Our waiter Rolf was outstanding, explaining the menu and pouring the perfect Stella!! You gotta go!!

Ron Lange

Went for lunch with some co-workers. Really kind and fast service. A great lunch specials menu for $15 or $20 if you would like a glass of wine with it. Tasty fresh bread to start and oil+balsamic dip. What a spot for lunch. Arrive early or book as it fills up fast.

Robyn Wilson

We had a reservation, but they tried to seat us in a high traffic area near the bar even though the place was less than ½ full. The food was average at best. I had the penne special and my wife had the truffle spaghetti. What saved it was the waiter who was friendly and attentive.

Daryl Litke

My friend and I sat outside on a sunny afternoon and it was so nice. The Bartlett pear salad with candied pistachios was incredible. Everyone must try it! We had various antipasti, which were delicious; we probably ordered too much because we were getting full before our pastas. Nonetheless, the pastas were done perfectly. They do a "proper" carbonara (no cream) and the noodles were al dente, which should not be difficult, but many Italian restaurants can't seem to get it right. The wines were good too (I think they were the Fontanafredda Briccotondo Barbera and a pinot gris). No complaints about the service.

Connie Choi

Try Italian Dunat but I have bad news for you, after this dunat you can't try any Dunat ???????????? it is unbelievably awesome

C Ben

Mediocre food! Manager was very intrusive and ruined my meal. Would not go there again.

Bob Smith

Really aimed towards the trendy crowd, which it delivers on. In regard to value for food, its over priced. Great service though

Kevin ONeill

Very rude guy who calls himself a general manager. He told that the proof of vaccine from Ontario is not enough to visit this great place and we need to have BC QR code. He refused to explain how to do this and said that it’s not his business))) lol. It didn’t matter that Ontario doesn’t have QR code’s. To sum it up, Ontario is not welcome EVEN if you have a vacation.

Grace Miller

Food was above average. Not really worth the price at all.

Eugene Carta

The service was great. The food was a bit too oily for our tastes (we ordered the Pasta Platter and the appetizer Calamari). The portion of the Pasta Platter was enough for 2 people definitely. The prices were a bit high but may be worth it for a date night type of dinner/lunch. Would recommend for a one-time dining experience. The reason for the 3 stars rather than 4 for me is that they asked us if we wanted water for the table, we said yes and they brought a bottle of sparkling water without explaining that we had an option of getting still water. Still water (tap water) is free and a lot of restaurants also provide their customers with free carbonated water made inhouse. For this bottle they charged us $7 which you can buy for about $3 from a grocery store yourself.

Brian Campbell

Like the meatball pasta! The meatballs are huge! And the sauce is good, not too sour and still can taset the tomato. LOve it! There was a salad with goat cheese. That's my 2nd favoraite dish. But they don't sell it anymore (T_T) . Hope it ll back!!!

Alexei Berger

Best Italian in the city, service was great! I had the seafood linguini and it was phenomenal, my gf had the truffle spaghetti and meatballs and wow, super impressed will defo be back

Kal Dhaliwal

I visited the Italian Kitchen with my family recently after seeing that they had moved from the old Alberni location. As soon as we stepped in, I loved the ambiance and design, while my father felt that the new design was too formal compared to that of the former location. All the staff was wonderful: beyond attentive, but also friendly and approachable. Beet salad with black pepper ricotta was amazing. The only reason I gave four stars is that the pasta was only "good", not $25 and 5 stars good. Salted Caramel Budino for dessert was delicious. Overall, a great experience, and I would certainly go back. Thanks to our server Sarah and to the manager Reggie that chatted with us after our meal.

Lancer Quinin

Its been my 4th or 5th visit to this restaurant, cannot keep count. I'm glad I was introduced to this restaurant by a family member. Whenever I'm in the city I have too make a stop and pay a visit too Ardallan, this guys a real champ, very kind, great hearted person. Full on service is provided at this restaurant and the food is amazing, I always have to eat my favorite dish which is the spaghetti & meatballs ohh man it's amazing! Wonderful environment, great indoor and outdoor setup, service is amazing, happy greetings as you enter. See yah soon!

Rami Elsanady

Great food, plates were delicious, generous and well presented. The outside garden patio is beautiful! Thanks for the birthday tiramisu - a very nice touch! The service was professional and attentive.

Austin Ferguson

Good consistent food. Service is for the most part very good, every once in a while it will be mediocre. Good wines and good selection of food

Ravjot Rakhra

Great service. Excellent food. Cater very well to food intolerances. Our party of 5 arrived late and stayed 3 hours. A good time for all.

Charles Wells

Very popular down town location. Nice set up but a bit noisy. We were happy with the food. They have a very large wine selection. But I was dissapointed that they didn't have the 2 different BC red wine I asked and we had to settle for the 3rd one which was warm. This rest of this write up is a little biased. ???? They are quite professional. We had dinner on Friday night and they called my daughter, who had made the rezervation, on Saturday around noon. I dont know if this was a routine call. We had a small accident during service and I critisized that they didn't do something extra like some free of charge after dinner drinks or some desert. The maneger was nice but he had his hands tied. When we were leaving I said I wont be back. But after the phone call I changet my mind. Thank you for your nice approach.

N Grewal

Food is not terrible but it feels more like chain food than genuine Italian food. Not fresh ingredients. Sort of like a Chilli's or Italianni's. Service is ok but it's quite pricey for the quality of food they serve. Would probably not go back.

Paul Moore

This is definitely one of the top spots in Vancouver. The food is amazing, their staff are very attentive and knowledgeable, and their new location (although smaller) is really well done. It's not cheap by any means, but for special occasions, business meetings, and just as a treat it's hard to beat. The bison carpacio is unique and delicious, the pasta dishes are amazing and deceptively filling for the portion size. The desserts are huge and definitely need to be shared!

Clarissa Raymundo

Had our anniversary dinner here this week. Cozy ambiance and quiet enough to carry a conversation. Most memorable dishes were the 20oz Prime Bone-In Ribeye (cooked perfectly) and the Charred Spanish Octopus antipasti. The Truffle Spaghetti and Meatballs were also delicious. We enjoyed their desserts as well.

Ken David

One of my favorites in Vancouver. This restaurant is always on my agenda when I visit. I’ve entertained business clients and had romantics dinners with my wife here. The chef always has something special available but I can’t pass up the seafood fettuccine. ProTip - parking is difficult to find, so hit a parking a garage and then enjoy the walk around downtown. Pictured: Seafood Fettuccine PLEASE GIVE ME A ???????? IF YOU FIND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL

Phenomal experience, excellent service and the food was great I highly recommend trying every dish, the atmosphere is definitely well settled but the desserts could have a little more "pizzazz" overall 9 out of 10 would dine again!

Omar Khan

Great service. Excellent tasting pasta with good size portions. I highly recommend this place.

Jerry Bluehorse

Good ambiance, overall great food and tasty. Make sure to make reservations on the weekend as place gets really busy. Truffle spaghetti was delicious.

Jordan D

This place was once trendy and offered excellent Italian food for both lunch and dinner. Unfortunately it seems the quality for food has gone sub par and much better Italian food can be found in the city for lower pricing. The lunch remains a better deal than the dinner but is not a place I would go back to in the near future. For the price, I would not recommend it

Fabulous food. I recommend the grilled octopus and their pastas are delicious! Great service in a traditional atmosphere.

Selena Chung

Honestly this is unbelievable. We needed a quick meal before work and ordered truffle meat balls and spaghetti. It was utterly disgusting. Not to mention that it was obviously microwaved from previous nights. A spaghetti dish that was put into the freezer from last night and into the microwave is what was served today for my afternoon meal. Spaghetti tasted amazing don't get me wrong but just a little too creamy. The meatballs on the other hand felt exactly like store bought ready to eat meals. What a coincidence! Both of our stomachs fell ill after the meal just 30 minutes after and it lasted around 2 hours. Better off going to earls which is a few steps away. Would've given this 1 star but the servers were amazing so 2 stars for at least hiring the right servers.

Hesham Elfar

Pretty decent restaurant, the quality matches the price nicely. Waiting staff was very attentive, cleans restrooms and plenty of parking on the street and as well as a parking lot next door.

D. Beket

Ordered the Antipasta patter which was delicious. Had the carbonara pasta which was also great! Serves were friendly and food came out quickly.

Jamie Moors

Love this place to bits! the food and the service is to die for!!!

This isn't your family run Italian restaurant: this is Italian food, elevated. Everything from the decor, service and smells, the tastes and the wine list is high quality. Good for Global for creating an upper scale Italian dining experience.

。。。萍水相逢。

The service was excellent. The food and drinks were tasty and fresh. It took a little bit long to prepare the mains, however it was pretty busy.

Mana N

What happened to the good old Italian kitchen that started years ago? The service and good keep going downhill as this restaurant move around and goes on. The menu has not changed much but the quality and taste have steadily declined. Please work on improving or at least go back to the level you started with. Other use you will end up suffering and losing the trust of your old regulars.

Gwen Sadler

sorry, I just thought foods were below my expectation, place is nice and service is great but pasta was dry, and veal had too much seasoning and hard to tell what is the flavor.

Farooq Mian

It has a beautiful atmosphere and great service but the food is only okay.

David Horbas

The restaurant is easy to find and really close to Burrard skytrain station. The area is all pay parking, so it's good to find a nearby parade if driving and pay for at least 2-3 hours. Making a reservation is always best to avoid waiting for a table during busy hours of lunch and dinner. Sitting on the upper floor by the window it's best. Service here is great and servers are kind. Depending on where you sit and time of day, it can be really busy and spacing between tables are smaller than other restaurants. Deciding quickly and placing your order right away typically gets your food faster. Even though it was busy during dinner, I though it was relatively quick in getting my meal. I ordered the spaghetti with bolognese which tasted amazing. A good balance between sauce and pasta ratios. Because it was such a busy restaurant and having closeness of tables, I found the noise level high. Had to talk loudly for the other people opposite of the table to hear and I had to focus quite a bit to hear across from me. The facilities were clean and well maintained.

Krishan Sharma

Friendly and efficient service. Clean. Large heated patio with safety barriers in place. Our food was tasty. They recognized our anniversary so that was nice. $$-$$$

Kyle Fredericks

We have been to the Italian Kitchen on several occasions and it was usually pretty good. This last time was rather disappointing. We started with the Honey Mussels and Clams, unfortunately there were large granules of sand in our clams, this was very disappointing. We notified our server Jessica and she gladly replaced the dish. I feel that the restaurant could do a better job on the overall ambience. Jessica our server was phenomenal. She definitely saved our evening and experience.

Kelly Mahajan

First time here, I ordered table side linguine cacio E pepe. After waiting for 40 minutes, my garlic bread arrived. 55 minutes my pasta came and there is too much pepper. Told the server and he said " I will tell the chef". Nothing was done, and I could not finish my food. Even though it was not a busy day, waiting that long for food that's just mediocre. First and last time coming here.

Healing Life

went here for a business dinner. the waitress was most attentive to our group. She recommended the popular dishes and daily specials. We tried the burrata and proscutito appy, as well split the truffles meatball pasta. Normally I am not a pasta fan but their pasta dishes were tasteful and easy to chew.

Norm Hayes

Can’t say enough good things about this place. I liked the decor, the selection of wines, and food and the service. Our server, Madison, recommended the perfect pairing of wine to the Sicilian duck we had. The presentation and the flavour of the food was perfect, and Madison surprised me with a birthday message on the plate of my cobbler as well. Because of this, I had one of the best birthdays of my life. Thank you Italian Kitchen!

Glenda Powroznik

My wife and I had an amazing night here. Great food, amazing vibe and friendly staff. I highly recommend the Bruschetta Trio and the Pasta Platter.

Laura Daniel

Absolutely amazing food, extraordinary service, and a phenomenal atmosphere. I would absolutely recommend Italian Kitchen to anyone looking to go out somewhere fancy and authentic.

Kris Gibbs

Underwhelming, disappointing dining experience for our last evening in Vancouver. Service standards have certainly dropped since my last visit. The staff were unwelcoming and our waitress in particular very noticeably stressed and rushed. We sat for 55 minutes without receiving bread or the drinks we’d ordered. Our mains were delivered before our starters. No real apologies were offered, even by the Maître d. A special occasion turned horribly wrong really which put a damper on our evening.. I wouldn’t recommend and with so many other fabulous restaurants in Vancouver,, I doubt I’ll return.

toffy concepcion

The food here was quite tasty. The portions and value were great as well. Also, the outdoor patio is really nicely setup. One thing to mention is that if you sit outside you will have ambulances driving infront of the restaurant with sirens on since the hospital is really close by.

Behrad Keshavarz

Wouldn't normally choose an Italian restaurant however the food, cocktails and service (Rob was our server) were faultless, nicely done! Really enjoyed my evening there and look forward to going back many more times!

Suzy

We ordered Pasta Platter that contains 2-3 kinds of pasta. It has a good amount portion for 2 or even 3 people. For side we had garlic bread and a risotto mushroom which was ok, not perfect for me. The waitress was so warm and polite! If you plan to go during COVID-19 situation, don't forget to bring your mask, they won't let u in. ;)

Ivan Geisbrecht

Absolutely lovely place! I am a horrible customer. Gluten free allergy No problem at all Natasha took care of it

Hiro Jeong

Came with family and friends to try out Italian Kitchen' s new location over the weekend. The overall layout and decor of the restaurant has improved significantly. I always felt the old location was way too noisy for some reason. Definitely a cosier feeling we have here. We tried to the antipasto sampler and the Caprese salad to start off with. Both dishes were very nice especially the burrato cheese found on both the dishes. The antipasto platter is really worth trying if you have more than 4 people. We then ordered the pasta platter, salt baked sea bass, and the Cornish hen for our mains. The sea bass was slightly overcooked and there was nothing really exceptional with the pasta. The Cornish hen however was really tender and juicy and wouiod really recommend trying this dish. Overall the service was really good and our waitress recommended a vey nice Chianti for us. I feel the dishes still need some improvement and fine tuning to make this a regular place to go to.

Ilya A

We were seated outside. Immediately brought focaccia with oil and balsamic. The oil was average and the focaccia excellent. Our menu was a brunch selection. We ordered a gnocchi breakfast with poached eggs and a truffle spaghetti and meatball. To accompany the food we ordered an inexpensive Barbara. We thought to start with a beet salad which we asked to share. It was delivered on individual plates and was an excellent choice. The presentation may be duplicated at a Michelin rated restaurant and the quality of the dish was outstanding. We continued our experience being pampered by the friendly and professional staff. Our main courses achieved the same status as our starter. We finished with our brunch enjoying a freshly brewed coffee. The cost was $140 which included the $57 Barbara. Overall an excellent dining experience.

Mark Lui

Great service average food...dessert was best...fish was bland and there was a piece of plastic in the soup...

Natasha C

Food is good, location is good, but it is a bit too fast pacing and noisy for a restaurant setting at this class. The waitors and the waitress is a bit over attentive.

Vince Balrai

Too expensive for the very small portion of food with mediocre quality. However, the service was good enough. All in all, I will not recommend this place to my friends and will not go back myself.

Rohit Bedi

Wow. Visited once while I was in Vancouver on business, and everything was fantastic. The food set a new bar and the service was great. I ended up sitting at the bar right beside the kitchen, so it was an extra treat to watch the magic happen and chat with the chefs.

Anthony C

Great service and a wonderful birthday dessert with "happy birthday" written in chocolate. Beautiful atmosphere and many wonderful smells. Great place!

rose javaheri

The Italian Kitchen. What can I say, other than this place was amazing ! First let me just say, the customer service there rocks!! Loved that they actually took the time and helped me and my brother choose and customize the dinner since we were allergic to soy. I do recommend the pasta though, it was outstanding! The pizza was good, but not great. ALSO!!!! For anyone who wants to see some entertainment, ask/book for the bar area!! Get as close as you can to the chefs ! They are funny and very kind. We actually got a free dessert because they were so busy and didn't chat with us and felt bad because of it. Btw, the donuts were amazing !!! <3

I Sainchuk

That wasn’t a bolognese... it’s a marinara at best! No meat, basic boyardee flavour, disappointing. And my friend’s duck was an appetizer sized meal. Worse, no one asked how it tasted. Terrible.

Neecee M

Occupying the location of the now closed Francesco's, they would have some pretty big shoes to fill. I had lunch there a few weeks ago and was quite impressed with the food. The food was quite reasonably priced and well prepared. The antipasto platter was delicious. I'll definitely be back. The service from some of the younger staff could be better and I could see the experienced members getting quite frustrated with them.

Colin Mcphee

I went to Italian Kitchen last Sunday and I have tried their new food menu. The food was amazing and so fresh. Our server Yin was so professional and she had the best customer service. Definitely will go back.

rojan ziaei

Appetizers are amazing (except their caprese), my main food was veal scallopini which was a meh!

Mark Parsons

Brilliant pasta with friendly service in really nice athmosphere!

Dr. Jon C

Great staff, Excellent food,

Thank you Chef Matteo and team. The July featured menu is delicious! All my favorite seafood in one bowl and is nicely cooked. Service was wonderful, thank you Madison. Definitely Coming back to try the lamb.

Went to this restaurant on a night out on the town with the wife; the food was amazing and the staff were very friendly and attentive. They came around the right amount of times, not too often and not sporadically. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area, I will be returning for another bite one of these days.

Linda McDermott

Honestly I was Italian kitchens biggest fan and I’ve been going for over 10 years ( when they were on Alberni). The staff is LOVELY!!!! This is 1000% not about the staff or service as I wholeheartedly believe they are GREAT!! I understand Covid has hit restaurants hard and food costs have gone up. I’m saying that, the quality here has gone down by a lot :( I went to dinner on October 14th ( right after I got my first vaccine and I was so excited to finally go for dinner after 3 weeks and choose Italian kitchen as it’s been a go too) and got the special which was a halibut pasta with peas. It was the fishiest thing I’ve ever smelt in my life. I know fish has a slight smell but it shouldn’t be excessively strong. The whole restaurant started to smell like it and people were looking over at our table. One of the bartenders ( I hope she’s ok!! ) had a fall and I didn’t want to add to their stress and attempted to eat my smelly pasta and ended up feeling off all night and in the morning the next day. We also visited a few times this summer, one was great and the other two times the pastas even when put in a cheese wheel, is bland :( I miss their old menu!! RIP!!!! I will not be coming back to Italian kitchen again for a long time! For a 200$ dinner, I will go elsewhere. I hope the owners take a serious look at what’s happening because it’s heading in a cactus club quality which is really disappointing.

Mariusz Korczak

We will definitely be going here again. We had the calamari to start, seafood linguine, truffle spaghetti & meatballs and tiramisu for dessert. It was all very, very tasty ????

Stefania

We tried this place on a foodie tour 3 years ago and it's still amazing. Tonight we told them we are celebrating our anniversary early and they surprised us with champagne. The food is outstanding as always and the service is soo good and they listen to everything you say!! Definitely recommend this place!!! Pasta is amazing!! Definitely try a burrata dish!!

Bourdie 1979

Heard lots of great things from this place so we decided to give it a try one night. Amazing food, great staff, and a great location. There were so many things on the menu I wanted, I can't wait to go back to try more!

Andy Su

Good food, but can't get order right on UberEats. Ordered Tomato spaghetti meatball, they gave me truffle. Ordered two tomato spaghetti, they gave me one....what's going on

MrG

called to ask for GST number as my receipt didn't show it. the person who answeredthe phone didn't know what the GST number and said she will arrange for a manger to call me back. I called on a friday and i still didn't get call back by Monday afternoon. so i called them back again. this time, one of the managers answered the phone and provided me with the GST number. she didn't even have the courtesy to say they are sorry for not calling back

Javier Mena

This place is really good. I am very picky when it comes to Italian food and this met my criteria, and blew away my expectations. If your looking for an outstanding meal I can't recommend this place enough.

M J

Nice place and the service was impeccable. The recommendations for the chef specials were very appreciated as they were delicious. The Quail starter was not among the favorite, but for should be tasty for Quail lovers.

NB

First, I want to point out that this is not a review for food. As I walk on Burrard Street everyday. I saw this place. And I told my husband who's a patio lover. His birthday was coming up. So a week ago, he walked to the place to make a reservation for his birthday (today). He was told that the patio did not take reservations. Fair enough, it's pandemic. First come first served. We get it. And he was told if we'd show up around 5pm, there are always seats. What can go wrong? Right? Today, his birthday. A raining Saturday day. We showed up at 5pm. Yes indeed, there were a couple of empty tables. However, to out dismay, disbelief and disappointment, the server told us the whole night was "FULLY BOOKED". What??? "Oh yeah, we started to take reservations since Monday." He said casually. Thanks Italian Kitchen for blowing my husband birthday.

Raj G

Went to dine out. I had the burratta Salad, the osso bucco and mousse desert. It was the best meal I have ever had. I would highly recommend the Italian kitchen

Charmaine T

Low end. Reservation 10 minutes late. No valet, no coat check. Service lacking. Food ok. Nice renovation but loveseat bench seating is cramped. For cheap, easy eats before a movie next door it will do.

Charles Gelling

Great service and pasta. A well run restaurant with attentive service even during the busiest of times. Great truffle cream spaghetti and meatballs, and freshly made pasta.

Kaleigh Klammer

Excellent beet salad and Pacific salmon. Top notch service. I will be back for sure next time I am in Vancouver.

John

Amazing food, amazing service, amazing location. We had a large group with a bunch of late arrivals, a couple of early cheques, and a bunch of requests -- all on a fireworks night. Staff was extremely professional, courteous, and handled everything likes dream. The food was absolutely divine, to boot. Great value, especially the pastas.

Neal Smith

Came here on a food tour a few years back and have come back a few times every year. Totally worth the drive from Surrey. Meatballs are to die for and so are the burrata appetizers. Service is always great and great atmosphere

Shaun Murphy

One of my favorite restaurants downtown! I have been here 3 times. I love the truffle spaghetti! Our first time here was for our 5th anniversary and the serve we had was amazing. I wish I could remember his name.

Nhi Tao

REALLY NICE ESTABLISHMENT. EVERYONE WAS HAVING A GREAT TIME WHEN I WAS THERE!!!

Jackie K

The restaurant has a great ambiance and it was very busy for a weekday night. We had a reservation and the hostesses were busy and didn’t greet us. We kept waiting and after a while I reached out to her saying we have a reservation. I didn’t like the first impression. Very cold and unwelcoming. Our waiter, Derek, however was great! He gave us some suggestions with the food and at the end he brought a birthday cake for my fiancé since we were celebrating his birthday. It was a very nice touch. The food was good. I enjoyed my time there.

Duck Worth

The food is fantastic, however the host staff is absolutely terrible. Why is it a 20 minute wait, when there are open tables available? It is very disappointing because the food is a 5/5 but they are incompetent to sit people.

Gordon Kwong

Didn’t like the food one bit. It all lacked a taste and most importantly salt . Service was great but food was not . Too expensive for what you get

James Williams

Yes to a five Star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. Staff is great, dining layout is fabulous and the food is delicious.

HS Ji

I chose Italian Kitchen because I had been there a few times, each time a marvelous experience. My husband had never been and I thought it would be a special place to celebrate his birthday. This time was a complete disappointment/disaster. The food was great as usual but we did not feel welcome and there was absolutely no service other than filling up drinking water and packaging food. When the waitress asked us if we wanted drinks and we said no, you could see that her face completely went from smile to frown. Even though we ordered a pasta platter for two and another main course with a total bill of 82 for two adults, it seemed like we didn't spend enough money to get a smile from her. Not even a Happy Birthday either. She might as well wished us Crappy Birthday.

Absolutely love this place! Exceptional wine list and upscale surroundings.I had the Seafood Linguine and it was delicious. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Close to downtown hotels.

Tausif Rahman

I really don't know what all the hype is about this restaurant. I found the food very greasy, covered with heavy sauces that mask the flavour, and indigestible. The waitress was incredibly nice but the management was intrusive, disturbing and ruined my dining experience. Not at all what I expected from the reviews.

gina guszowaty

Nothing special with regards to it’s food. Wine and service, however, was great. The food did not meet the standards that it did in the past, average all around.

Mikaela Norkus

Fabulous food. I had the truffled fries, truffle spaghetti and meatballs (rich truffle white sauce on the pasta), and ended with the zeppole for dessert - fried dough filled with Nutella. All wonderful but I over ate for sure. Service was good too.

Arif Khan

terrible terrible terrible food at their new location, earlier when i went their food was awesome but now they have changed their location and management , so bad there. feels some different behavior because of my skin color.

Roy Samson

Absolutely outstanding. Everything: atmosphere, food, service are awesome.

I was at Italian Kitchen last night with two of my dearest friends, celebrating a birthday. We enjoyed our various sea-food related meals immensely. Our server was lovely, she was friendly, helpful and kind throughout the entire meal. However, we were all very dissatisfied with the overall cleanliness of your restaurant, the section we were seated in had a FRUIT-FLY INFESTATION. There were flies buzzing around our heads while we ate, and our neighboring table were obviously dissatisfied as well. I was horrified to observe the walls and ceilings were covered with flies, which put us off our appetites for the evening. I would not have hesitated to recommend the Italian Kitchen to any of my friends or colleagues, but I will from now on until this matter is dealt with.

Kyle Leslie

Great food and a variety to choose from. No pizza tho.

Queen of August

The experience was top notch. The food took a while but was extremely good and worth the wait . The service was some of the best I have received. Overall was not too pricey relative to the experience. Easy 5 stars and one of the best upscale italian restaurants in Vancouver.

priya gopinath

The food was OK, service was good. But the portions could have been absolutely more for the price it was offered. I love the free refills though.

Food was A+ but I did see 2 mice/rats running along the outdoor patio. Cant fault them for being outside in the city but would come back for the great food regardless!

This is my second time at Italian Kitchen and I dislike it even more than the first time. I mean the service was fast and good. The server explained everything, was polite, and very prompt with giving us water, etc. Service was excellent. The food, on the other hand, is not equal to its costs. The scallops seemed under cooked. It was a bit cold in the middle. My colleague order medium, and what she got was more like rare. My other colleague thought her dish was too oily. Overall, given the restaurant, I thought the quality would be a lot better. very disappointed.

Maria

Great authentic Italian food. Spritz was not watered down! 5/5

Melanie Cortez

Great place with great food! Very nice ambience! I did find one of the staff members being unnecessarily sarcastic, it might have been his attempt at being funny. I'm still deciding if it's derogatory or not. Luckily this was caught on video, allowing me to relive it! Except for this particular staff member, everyone else was extremely kind and professional. Definitely recommend the food!

Maureen Prasad

Delicious food, wonderful server. We sat on the patio, we got a little bit cold but over all it was a wonderful experience. Highly recommend the octopus starter, and the donuts for desert. They were the highlights of the night.

D HINDU

Took forever for our waiter to show up, then when salad showed up we STILL didn't have our wine. How do you get that wrong? Manager was excellent and gave us deserts on the house but would have had a relaxing glass of wine served before meal. Cactus club does it better!

Dave Moore

Whenever we are downtown, Italian Kitchen is on our top 3 options to eat out. Great selection, fresh pasta and ingredients along with a great mix of family & youth atmosphere. Service is also hard to beat.

Katherine Ellis

I wouldn't call this a special or a great place, but it's ok for a quick work lunch. Portions are on the smaller side and sauces can be hit or miss. Their white truffle sauce is good, but very heavy and greasy. I can only have a couple scoops of it before not wanting to touch it again. Most tomato sauces are really sour. Didn't enjoy the lunch sampler at all. Had better luck with their risotto special.

I went there twice and I'm very pleased. The food will be served really fast, I didn't have to wait for more than 10 minutes, it's very well presented and tastes even better. The staff is also very nice and friendly.

Greg Chan

Fantastic cuisine, loved that the menu did not have too many options. Everything tastes fantastic and fresh.

Justin Deonarine

Great experience last night at the Italian kitchen! Food was fantastic and the service was even better. Our server Sarah was awesome, provided great recommendations and was happy to accommodate! I have been going to the Italian kitchen for years and since the move down burrard the experience has gotten even better!

A R

Great staff and very knowledgeable on the the menu. They catered for various diets by creating off menu items. Great ambiance.

Lisa Rogers

Great food, service was a little slow, ordered a second drink and it never came. Recovery was good, two drinks comp'd. Would recommend

ARJ

This is a great Italian restaurant located conveniently on Burrard Street. The service and food was great. The server was able to adjust some menu choices to meet my allergy requirements. They also have some classic cocktails made with an Italian twist. I had the Limoncello-Peach Mojito and it was excellent. The traditional Peach Bellini is also a good choice.

Traci B

"I was very disappointed to see $3 per person fee for everyone at the table for “cake cutting”. It was the first time I saw this charge… a $25 cake cost us $18 to cut, which is both funny and stupid. For a restaurant like Italian Kitchen, I think it’s so cheap to charge people for cake cutting and not letting the guests know."

Kim S

1. The beef carpaccio had no acid. When you're eating raw meat acid is required. 2. Rosemary and seafood don't go together, ever, especially when there is way too much of it.(In reference to the $37 seafood linguine.) IMO, par for the course for Glowbal establishments. You can't put lipstick on a pig. Should have just cooked for my friends and spent the money on better wine.

Dave Munday

Amazing food, excellent service! Get the truffled pasta and meatballs or the seafood linguine - you won't be disappointed!

mh

Food was absolutely delicious! Our server Devin was very helpful in helping us decide what to get. The gnocchi is must try at this restaurant!

If you like pasta, you' all have a hard time choosing just one from the menu. If you just like good food, you'll have plenty of choices too! Ambience was nice, service was very good.

Kathleen Hyland

Unfortunately, had a generally bad experience. The seafood linguine was very bland. I was hoping for a good experience given the good reviews. The gnocchi was excellent though. Service was mediocre given that one server was good, the other was pretty non communicative.

Anthony R

The food is really good and the portions are generous. We sat in the middle of the dining room and it felt we were forgotten about. Someone was walking around handing out bread and oil, and literally everyone around us, both new and existing tables, all got some bread and oil, we didn't and had to ask for it. The wait stuff was polite to a degree, it seemed like there wasn't really rhyme or reason to their system as we've been approached by three different people checking up on us,however our concerns weren't really addressed until our server showed up. It was a weird experience but overall a positive one. Bring your wallet as the place isn't cheap.

Melita Kurbegovic

My fiancé & I went there to celebrate our New Year's. We made a booking ahead of time. There's a parking lot just adjacent to the restaurant so plenty of parking available. We were seated in less than a few minutes. As requested, the restaurant honored our seating preference. David, our host, was very lively. We're served starters within 5-7 minutes of ordering them and the mains followed after about 5-7 minutes of finishing the starters. David did an amazing job at suggesting us wines and cocktails. We ordered Truffle Spaghetti & Meatballs and Gnocchi Funghi. The portions were fairly big. The Ceasar salad, truffle fries and garlic bread were delicious too. Overall the evening went very smooth. The ambience was great. Definately coming back as always ????

Michael Roberts

Decent value for money. Beef carpaccio had fried potatoes on top which didn't go. Burata portion was small and too much bread. Spaghetti with truffle was not bad. The meatballs we're not stellar. Big portions though. Wine selection not impressive. I see why people like it. Good ambiance and service, but none of my dishes or my family's we're anything to write home about.

J Coats

I organized the Christmas Party for the company I work for. The food and the service were outstanding. Amazing staff! This was one of the best experiences we had. We will for sure repeat it. Thank you Michou & Thank you Glowbal Group, you are the BEST On behalf of the Enerex Team.

Thank you Amir for taking care of us and our romantic evening. Very professional staff and delicious food. My husband and I had amazing time dining at this restaurant. Highly recommend this place! They hit all the points: service, food, professionalism, cleanliness and cozy atmosphere.

K B

I went to this restaurant on Saturday Jan 4th. The server was exceptional. She was kind and extremly helpful. Unfortunatly I cannot say the same thing for the food. The Food Menu needs an update .

Rick McGill

Fabulous evening! Despite the rainy weather we sat on the covered patio and we were very comfortable. Food and service were excellent. Thank you!

Dorsa Liaghat

Nice atmosphere and food is excellent. Changes to the menu have meant the pasta platter doesn’t include the truffle spaghetti and meatballs but recommend asking to include those and share the platter for a table if you’re looking to taste all their most popular pasta dishes. Wine menu is decent and staff can easily recommend a good pairing.

Tony K

The service was incredible, as was the food. Will definitely be back.

Darren Aspen

Nice menu and wine selection. Always great service. Gluten free options. Particularly like the beef carpaccio, caprese salad (fresh burrata), dunk confit gnocchi, pappardelle, meatballs with truffled spaghetti, arrabiata, and carbonara. Oh and their brussel sprouts are amazing!

Lori Palmer

We had lovely experience. Devon was very customer friendly.

Yui Li

Excellent food and fantastic service. It had gone through a bit of a change when it opened but now back to its fantastic self. Highly recommended. Reasonable pricing.

Wei Ling Lee

Went there for their "buy up" dinner thing. $98 for a four course dinner for two. Ambience was good. Service from our waitress was very good, after all they are supposed to be a fancy high end Italian restaurant. Food on the other hand though was not spectacular. If I was paying full price I would be very upset at their quality of food, especially after finding a piece of plastic/saran wrap in my food. The manager was quick to react by coming over to apologize and giving us one small piece of their tiramisu as compensation for our table of six, very generous of her. I didn't make a huge fuss over it but needless to say I won't be heading back any time soon. As far as the food goes, it was really a hit and miss. For example, three of us ordered a beef tenderloin. All of them were supposed to be medium rare. One came out perfect, one was medium while the other was medium well. The other three order a roast salmon and they also came out to be differently cooked. Oh and that green sauce beside the beef tenderloin, it's definitely not for everyone so beware. It tastes like raw green onions

Terry Tsui

Terrible service. The new location has a different menu and the service is so slow. In one seating, they had 3 mistakes and each time we had to wait about 30 minutes. The pasta platters are also changed and choices are not comparable to the old location.

I organized my company Christmas party here. The staff service was amazing! They weren't able to get us in for dinner earlier but rented out their patio area for us to use before dinner and it was the perfect ice breaker. They turned on their heaters and it was perfect. Their canapes were amazing and the dinner set menus were so good I wished I could eat more. I already go there for normal dinners and am always happy with the service but my private event they seemed to have stepped up their game even more. I'd give this place more stars if I could!

Steve Batah

I eat here often.. 2 or 3 times a month. Great quality and services. You would think the prices would be a lot more expensive for what you get but they are actually average. Great place highly recommend it to anyone!!

Mahmoudreza Mivehchi

Service was extremely disappointing for $200 dinner. Was a special outing for my husband and I to enjoy 'date night' away from kids and schedules. Waitress was disengaged and couldn't care a less what we order. Didn't offer any suggestions to wine - in the end our wine pairing was so so (dine out menu) -3 Oz serving which she didn't offer to tell us -otherwise we would have just purchased a nicer bottle of wine. Wine tasted like it was poured from open bottle from a few days ago. Overall lack of knowledge of menu and disinterest - won't go back.

Went here for a birthday celebration, and was impressed. We got the cacio e pepe in the parmigiano wheel with lobsters and black truffle (it tastes as amazing as it sounds) and the gnocchi with funghi as our mains. The cacio e pepe was amazing, but the gnocchi was a bit underwhelming. It was good for what it was. We also got the risotto and polenta as sides-- the risotto was delicious, the polenta was a bit mushy (I've had polenta that's crispy on the bottom) and I wouldnt say the gorgonzola is the best combination with it. The secret recipe sangria though was very nice. A member of management (perhaps the owner or head of staff?) came and personally greeted us and wished my boyfriend happy birthday, as well as brought us a birthday cake on the house. This was definitely a welcome surprise as we'd been to the main Glowbal restaurant before for a previous birthday and despite also noting it was a birthday occasion, nothing was brought or made special, but the Italian Kitchen went above and beyond for that. The service here was 10/10. Our server was very kind and enthusiastic (we didnt catch his name but it was server #000777) and the food was brought very quickly too, with frequent water refills. Overall, a great experience and ambiance, roomy and sophisticated decor.

Baha Azizi

Excellent food and wonderful staff. Very nice atmosphere. Gets busy so I'd recommend a reservation. My girlfriend lost her ring there and upon calling the restaurant they immediately identified and returned it upon our arrival.

Karen L

Fantastic costumer service. My boyfriend and I had a reservation at 9 but our table was not ready until 9:15 (no big deal); However, we were given 2 glasses of champagne and piece of a very delicious Tiramisu(HIGHLY recommend) to make up for it. So refreshing to see well stablished businesses taking care of their costumers like it's their grand-opening.

Shelley Kulle

Adrian, our server was fantastic! He matched our sense of humour and upped it with his witty comments. He made excellent recommendations from the menu, everything we ate was absolutely delicious. We can’t wait to come back. The lobster cacio e pepe, was a showstopper.

J Frölich

Shaneece and Adrian were amazing! Food was awesome too! Thank you from the 4 crazy Alberta "ladies"!

Shyam Ponnampalam

Just loved the appetizer Carpaccio as it was outstanding. The spaghetti carbonara was very tasty. Can't wait to go back.

Jenny W

The truffled spaghetti is delicious. Our table did a family style meal, so we could enjoy all the dishes on the menu. The other hit was brussel sprouts.

Helmar Prael

Amazing food and excellent service especially by Candice who served at our table. I'm glad we choose here for my birthday dinner. We had a great time!! Definitely 5 stars and highly recommend.

The food is generally good. My favorite dish here is the lamb chops - It's definitely better than anyone would expect.

Jennifer Kwan

Just had a great birthday dinner with family and friends. Food and service were the best ever. Only thing better was the personality of our servers and the manager. Thanks for a great evening I will not forget.

Aman K

Italian Kitchen has quickly become my favourite spot downtown; the food was excellent and the staff were extremely pleasant. The risotto was the best I’ve ever had and I can easily say the same for the Gnocchi Funghi. The Canelloni was brilliant as well. Can’t wait to try more dishes on my next visit! Special thank you to JUAN AND CANDICE for making our visit incredibly special! Candice was so lovely and tended to us greatly, and Juan was a treat to speak to and made our experience so memorable. These two are a real gem and I hope others can run into them and experience the wonderful treatment that we had.

Gavin Macdonald

Amazing place and really good food, prices are not as high as I was expecting it because the place is very nice, the caccio Pepe pasta is a must, servers are fast and on top I love this place

Xiao Liu

It's delicious, fresh made pasta and a little more upscale dining without being overly expensive. Great idea for a date night. Just make sure to get a reservation in advance.

Foods are taste except mussels , it smell bad! peoples are speaking loudly, feeling noises

Jas Boparai

The Italian Kitchen has been our go to spot for lunch when we are downtown. My wife had the seafood linguine, I enjoyed the fettuccine bolognese both dishes were great choices. The stuffed zucchini flower appetizer was delicious and you might not want to share. Our server was Daniel , and was outstanding.

Julie Lee

Our first experience with this establishment. It was a bit chilly inside on a damp and dreary day. When we asked about having the heat turned up we were told that the restaurant was having a problem with the system. Also, the canned elevator/airport music took away from the otherwise atmosphere. The captures salad was exceptional – different from any we’ve sampled anywhere. The seafood linguine and grilled salmon entrees were both nicely prepared. Credit is also reserved for the server and kitchen happily leaving capers out of the linguine and being willing to do the same with the Brussels sprout side had we ordered it. All in all, not a bad experience. We would be interested in sitting out of the expansive front patio in nicer weather.

???? Hi there! ????Winelist surprises U with abundant choices. ???? The dishes on the superb table wonders U. ???????????????????? A simple pasta pleased me in the open air at a leisure afternoon, just about Cad.$27 fooled the time staying in Vancouver City Center. ???????????????? ???? ☕ Pasta Verdura de Tochillo pronounces similarily to Tokyo(Tochillo) that wondered me the whereabout. Me, an oriental(Taiwanese) , asked about if I had wrong order or prounciation(me, said as Torch-lo ). ???? Really good, dined here. ???? A pasta not so rich as what I had tasted in New York. But a cool experience, specially. ???? It would calm you as the long & winding roads up to the YVR airport, some scences particular other than lots of nations or conutries. ???? A woods pool on the river at the Bridgeport catches the eyes, I think so. ???? Blocks after blocks, corners after corners may hide some gourments, check it. Italian Kitchen spreads unforgettable flavours. ????????????????????????????????????????????????

Just had the dine out menu today. Food was great and very tasty. Service was kinda slow tho.

It's an amazing atmosphere and service and okay food. First time I went there they forgot the salmon on my salmon dish. And then when I told them they forgot the salmon, they just brought me a piece of bland salmon on a seperate plate. We decided to give it another try and food was just okay once again. Didn't forget anything this time tho.

I was hesitating whether to give this place 4 stars instead of 5. To me, its like a 4.5. Its very pricy but it's a very luxurious experience and the you can tell just by the waiter quality. They are well versed and really know their stuff. Their food was not the best but above average. I think it can be better. You might want to dress up for this place... Otherwise, you will stand out (quite a bit). I dined with 3 others. We ordered ourselves a pasta and one sharing plate. Including tip, I paid around $270. I think the tip was around $30. I don't tip if the service is deserving. But, they deserved every penny.

cheska zarah ang

A solid "Okay". First off, the service was very good -- when I received a cold entrée they made a sincere attempt to make it right. Our server was attentive and welcoming ...kudos for service. The food experience was hit and miss. The Tuscan Winter Salad was uninspired; a boring coleslaw with a few olives. When they got it right the Fraser Valley Porchetta was a much tastier effort, really enjoyed it. The Lobster Ravioli was very good; but a large-appetizer portion at best. My two biggest complaints are the noise level and the very generous mark up on the wine list. If you're planning a romantic evening here bring your phones so you can text each other -- it's a bit loud. And not to whine; but a pedestrian $19 bottle shouldn't cost $58++. I can't say this was a bad experience -- but I also can't think of any compelling reasons that I would return to the Italian Kitchen.

Prithu Banerjee

OMG ... so freaking good ... we ordered for delivery and had the Calamari appetizer to start ... so tender and tasty and the dip was fab ... then the pesto linguini ... de-lish ... and the veal fungi was amazing ... we ordered one of each and shared and it was plenty for both of us ... absolutely love this place and now we remember why ... mwah!! ????????????????

The location is excellent and the food is consistently good. Since the restaurant moved to this new location the ambiance has improved as well; it is no longer the excruciating din of the former location. The portion sizes are reasonable and I have always been pleased with the service; prompt, helpful but busy.

I will give it 3.5 due to the great food. Overall food can be 4.5 stars since I was really impressed by the clams and mussels. The pasta was awesome and my wife loves it. …

Came here with my girlfriend just before Christmas to have a nice dinner for our anniversary. We were seated upstairs at a half table situated against a wall divider. This wasn't a big deal at all. So we tried to enjoy our dinner until the couple who were seated beside us had a fit because of the seat they were given. For the entire time we ate our dinner all we could hear or pay attention to was this guest and the management trying to work it out for him.. After nearly half an hour the manager I presume came out to apologize to this guest and offer him some discount and whatever else for the inconvience. This absolutely ruined our dinner and we weren't even being catered to because of this rude guest next to us. I am in sales and understand customer satisfaction. But if you take it so seriously open up your eyes to your other guests who now have a terrible impression of your resturaunt. Value all your customers not just the ones who make a scene.

First time in Vancouver , this place came highly suggested. Not a great experience. Was told we have 1.5hr due to a pre booked 'reservation'. Food took an hour to get here. Other guest got their food and apps before us. The prawn fettucini was not Good!

milad stanley

They’ve done a great job of figuring out how to serve during the pandemic. We had a patio table and an excellent server - Jessica from Quebec! The restaurant still pours your wine- offers salt in a tiny dish versus tacky packets. Lots of cleaning happening?- we felt comfortable albeit a bit chilly, more heaters will be needed! Food was good, not great, hence 4 stars. I think the Covid surcharge is ridiculous when menu prices have also gone up - but that’s so Vancouver - add tips, surcharges and anything else hoping the guest won’t notice.

Ehssan Hoorvash

Amazing food as always, always consistent. Very friendly staff.

Very small portions, half the quantity of Botun Rouge or the Keg Waiters gave wrong information about the plate Highly not recommended

Convenient location loves being able to sit outside. Food was okay but I've had better Italian. Service was okay

Batoul Istabouly

I have the highest respect for the Glowbal group but I’m not impressed at all with Italian Kitchen. Food was okay but we were made to feel awkward due to service. Two servers came to our table in the middle of us dining. The senior server said she wanted to teach the other server the proper way to remove dirty dishes from the table and then proceeded to provide on-the-job training to him WHILE WE WERE DINING. I am going to assume some of their waitstaff are new and were hired in a haste because of the COVID-related workforce shortage. So I can fully understand if they need to train their staff, but I would expect at least the little courtesy of asking first if this is okay with me and my guest. For the record, yes, I would have been okay if they asked first but coming to my table without asking first?! Well here goes my first one-star review on Google.

Suzzana Kawaii

The food was good, I had the carbonara. My friends had the spaghetti with meatballs which was also good. We all had similar food and it was all consistently good. Nothing incredibly wow worthy. The service felt stiff. It was a staff dinner, and honestly it just isn't my vibe. Napkins on the lap, multiple cutlery... It just felt unessesary and unapproachable. Maybe my idea of a restaurant experience differs from what this place is trying to accomplish. The atmosphere felt like a themed Italian restaurant. I appreciated the simple menu. I wish the rest of the experience was simple and approachable.

Rob

I love the happy hour menu. Beautiful patio with great food. I recommend it.

steve Maratta

Mediocre food. Pretty blend, feels more like diner's food. It's not bad but you expect WAY more when you walk in. Feels snoby and has this kind of fake fancy Vegas vibe. Prices aren't aligned with the quality of food. You'll find much better and real Italian food in the city.

Douglas Deaust

Very friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Most importantly, the food was delicious. Beautiful new set up on Burrard street. One of my favourite fine dining experience that I have had to date

Mark Reilly

Amazing food and amazing service. Have never been disappointed when dining here. Highly recommend the lobster pasta that is served by your table in the cheese wheel and the meatball spaghetti is out of this world. Great wine selection also.

Charlotte McGovern

Portions smaller than before, quality disappointment for a $37 seafood pasta. Service was good but food quality very average.

The burrata and prosciutto appetizer was very good and serves 2. We had the gnocchi funghi were good but gnocchi were a bit overcooked and way too big. The carbonara was very good.

My girlfriend and I had the Gnocchi there and it was delicious! The table next to us didn't quite enjoy their food but I'm not sure what they ordered. Our food was great, and sitting outside on a nice toasty day added to the experience.

I have to start by saying that I miss Don Francesco's Restaurant in this same location. Not that Italian Kitchen is any less, but Francesco's set the bar very high. There is a reason why I had to give this Restaurant 4 points and not 5. I usually go with my experience for rating... And there was something very slight missing in my experience last night at Italian Kitchen. This Restaurant felt more commercial and had no feel of authentic Italian Restaurant. Details: We had our reservation. And the hostess was kind enough to change our table because we did not like to sit almost in the walkway. One thing to notice, a 4 seater table had 3 chairs... Not right. The new table setup was not right. I felt it was too cramped and busy. We felt as if we are sharing tables with the adjacent guests. Tim was waiting at our table. Very nice guy. 5 points for him. Food Menu was not great or extensive, but the Wine Menu was almost like an Encyclopedia. Tim explained us about the dinner menu. Me being vegetarian, I soon realized, there is an easy way to starve myself. We ordered Bruschetta... Nicely made. Very delicate on flavors. Cauliflower was the main feature on the Bruschetta. I liked it. I ordered a Gnocchi Funghi... The best Gnocchi Funghi I ever had. The only problem, the chef did not clean the food stain on my pasta plate properly before serving it to me. Please check my picture upload. My friends ordered 'Cornish Hen Fra Diavolo' and custom make of Spaghetti with Prawns. I tried the Spaghetti and liked the flavors. The side of Baked Brussels with Capers was very good. Very strong on flavors. Too rich. Tim also got us a slice of Tiramisu (on the house) as we were celebrating a birthday. Food - 9 Ambience - 8 Service - 9 Money - $$$$$ (in layman words, expensive) The only missing piece is the authentic Italian Kitchen feel. If you have been to Don Francesco's, you might not like Italian Kitchen.

Marisol C

Firs of all I would choose. Zero stars if google would let me, First impression it looks fancy and priced high so your expectations off the bat or pretty high... The service was crap I couldn't even talk to the girl friend it was so loud so we just sat there looking out the window, waiting for ever for our food We got our pasta platter and it was cold and tasted horrible I consider this place a was of money and will make sure everyone I know doesn't go there

It was my birthday today so my best friend decided to treat me for dinner at the Italian kitchen. She initially saw a Tik tok about the place. When we got seated, we were deciding what we wanted and because the waitress was nearby, we asked her if she knew what the dishes were in the video so we could order them. When we asked about a dessert, she said it was no longer available as it was on an old menu. I then asked if they had desserts in which she answered yes. So I proceeded to ask if it was on a different menu as I didn’t see any on the current menu in hand. She said yes but then asked are you here for food or for dessert in a rude tone. We said we were here for both, then she said she would get us the dessert menu later. The waitress’ name was Yin and she made our experience here very sour. We had other waitresses deliver our food and they were very nice, so it really was just the waitress serving us. We got the lobster pasta prepared within a cheese wheel and thought it was a very mediocre table service. It lacked enthusiasm and there was no fire of any sort. The server was just scraping cheese from the wheel and mixing it up before shredding truffle on top. For a $50 dish, I expected more. Not to mention the pasta was basically cold. The highlight was the limoncello lava cake. We had placed our order for desserts shortly after our food order. Yet the waitress came by after we finished our pastas to say that it would take 20 minutes to prepare in the oven. I found that absurd when we had already notified her of our dessert order. There was nothing spilling out of the lava cake so that was disappointing. However the taste of the cake was really good. I wouldn’t have bothered to write a review if we got decent service. Wouldn’t come back.

This restaurant is a gem. The absolute best pasta I have had. Made table side in the giant Parmesan wheel. Happy hour appetizers and drinks. We had a fabulous time. Loved it.

Enjoyed the food here. I had the kalamari appetizer. Could have used a bit more salt but nice and tender and the tomato sauce was tasty. The gnocchi was also very good. My friend had the fresh tomato appetizer. Missed having boconccini with it. Came with this saucy cheese. I wouldn't order it. A bit pricey. Service was fantastic.
