Alright here are the facts as unbiased as I can present them. 1. Our food arrived 62 minutes after it was ordered 2. The food was barely warm not hot 3. The spring rolls were sweet and had large hard to chew pieces of ...? 4. The green onion cakes were soggy with grease 5. The deep fried shrimp tasted like donuts 6. The noodles tasted like margarine 7. The beef chop suey did not taste like beef; veggies were decent 8. Chicken fried rice was average 9. Price was fair for quantity of food, but not quality 10. We didn't get fortune cookies Note: I'm not a picky eater and I even appreciate greasy, low-budget Chinese food sometimes - but I couldn't finish this.

No kidding. This is my favourite Chinese delivery/takeout place in the city. Their won ton with pork soup is to DIE for, and their combos are amazing! Reasonably priced, and you get 10% off if you pick it up yourself (they're a couple blocks from the Broadway-City Hall station). The staff is really friendly, too! They deliver themselves, and you can get it from your favourite delivery service too.

I usually happy with thefood which is good but it took over an hour for the food and I had to call to see where it was. There where no napkins and 2 packets of soya suace for an order for 4 people. Everytime I call I feel like am interrupting them and are quick to hang up. Food is good but not worth the wait or the feeling of people not wanting me to order from them? Sad, because I like that they are a staple of Vancouver.

Perfect take-out option when around Broadway-CityHall and great value for a small format Chinese restaurant. Food is prepared from scratch, not reheated as in other places. That might affect the delivery time if you live far from that area, but meats and veggies come with great seasoning and well cooked, so it's really worthy. Highly Recommended.

This is *the* place you want to go for hole-in-the wall, super westernized Chinese food. It's not the least bit "authentic" but I don't particularly care when this city's already filled to the brim with authentic restaurants repping Sichuan, Hunan, or any other number of regional cuisines from China and Taiwan. It's greasy, it's sweet, it's salty, it's probably full of MSG, and it's also probably terrible for your health, but it also happens to a taste pretty fantastic, and that's the part that matters here. Some dishes can creep a little into the pricey end, but aside from that, you definitely get your money's worth here.

After a very long wait the food arrived, delivery man didn't have the card machine. 26 dollar worth of food, two dishes both dishes are extremely dry. I was not able to find any chicken in chicken chow main and the noodles in it were so tasteless and dry it went straight to garbage. Ginger beef was horrible, some pieces were so dry I think they just reused something from a day or possibly even days ago, went straight into garbage. What a disappointment and waste of money. I would be ashamed to charge money for this.

Food was hot and fresh..Only disappointed that my chicken balls were delivered as mush..I thought it went without saying that when sending delivery...SAUCE (ESPECIALLY for Chicken balls) goes ON THE SIDE.. This is very close to a proverbial hole in the wall. When you go in, there is a little order window. Behind the window is a huge kitchen. To the right, there is a drinks fridge. They specialize on takeout and delivery (over a certain cost). With takeout, you get 10% off if the order is over $30. Granted, there is one big table and 2 little tables but I find it might be their family eating there. They cook quickly and are very courteous. For example, they asked if I wanted rice and I hadn't planned on it so he offered me a small bowl of rice for free. The food is extremely hot. Be aware that they only open after 4:00pm, which is funny because they offer all-day dim sum. I guess they cater to people planning dinner at home. They accept credit card payments. I'm giving this place a 4/5 because I'm comparing it to takeout restaurants, not dine-in restaurants. There are no washrooms or free WiFi. ------- July 25 ------- I went back again because their food and service were good. This time I ordered the Chicken with vegetables with black bean sauce on rice, $13.95. They told me it would be ready in 10 mins but it was only 2 mins! Even after 15 mins, the food was stick very hot. The food was good again. Their food wasn't oily. But they forgot to give any utensils or chopsticks this time.

Hot Delivery is awesome and always delicious. I often order Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls, Chicken Chow Mein and Beef Brocolli. Portions are large and prices are reasonable. Staff is friendly and efficient. Restaurant is clean. I highly recommend.

Everything was pretty mediocre, although I was happy with the size of the portions. I see other people’s complaints of meat scarcity and grease. There was an overwhelming amount of noodle and veggie to meat ratio, and a fair amount of grease. We ordered chicken chow mein, beef chop suey, and chicken fried rice. Taste and portions were great but with all the other Chinese places in this area I don’t think I will order from here again.

If you are looking for great Americanized Chinese take-out this is the place to order from. You know what I'm talking about - beef & broccoli, chicken balls, and ginger beef. Delish. Don't expect anything fancy, it is exactly as the name says. Good portions, consistent. Can't ask for more than that. Edit: they've recently upped their prices by A LOT which is unfortunate as it is no longer good value for what you are getting :(

Consistently good Chinese classics for a great price! The owners are very kind and generous and provide excellent, friendly customer service. This is not a dine-in place - just pick up or for delivery. You are not expected to hang out there for more than a minute or so while you pick up your order - so don't expect them to provide you with a washroom or free Wi-Fi. Sounds reasonable.

Hot Delivery on Cambie Street offers a wide variety of items to choose from. Love the people that run this place. The portions are also very generous, and the flavors are on point. Must be family owned because your always greeted at the door when doing a walk in order, and they even offer you tea while you wait. Highly recommended!

VERY RESPECTABLE BUSINESS. I used SKIPTHEDISHES to place my order. Driver delivered but I didn't get it. Looked everywhere! Look at neighbours houses.. Walked a block up the alley... No where! Furious, I called the store (Understandably not their issue as it's a SKIPTHEDISHES DRIVER) but they were VERY NICE, SYMPATHETIC AND UNDERSTANDABLE on the phone. Offered to and called Skipthedishes on my behalf. They called me back around 10 mins later to indicate I would need to call skipthedishes as they need to talk to me directly (I couldn't even find their phone number on the site?!?) But 45min later, my neighbour comes banging on my door saying they got MY ORDER. The food was surprisinlg still warm. Apparently the driver doesn't know what "RIGHT SIDE OF HOUSE" mean! As far as FOOD GOES: EXCELLENT! Best I've ordered from!

Ordered from here on SkipTheDishes. Before tonight I thought it would be impossible for a late night drunk meal to be disappointing and unsatisfying, but I was wrong. The chow mein consisted of plain noodles with a topping here and there. Sweet and sour pork and other dishes were similarly disappointing. I’m astonished that this restaurant has an above average rating.

Extreme rude attitude to delivery/takeout. Restaurant owner made his own mistake and mixed orders with another customer. When we found out and called, the restaurant owner blamed delivery partner for not checking order. How can a delivery driver knew what was inside package? I feel bad for the deliver guy for coming all this way, did great job but as wrong order. Business owner should be more professional in operations, very disappointed.

The worst. Every dish was terrible. I mean, not just Ok, but terrible. The Almond Chicken was like a deep-fried grease sponge. The ginger beef was not crispy and not spicy and was there really any ginger at all? Green Beans: limp and soggy, Chicken fried rice: tough and chewy with very little chicken. They were fast and efficient, but the quality and preparation of the dishes was the worst. I think you would be hard-pressed to find worse Chinese food in Vancouver.

The kind of place to order food when you don't want to cook dinner. It is inexpensive, offers a great variety of Chinese food in a very fair amount for a family and it is done fast. Everything I have tasted was good (not wonderful, but fair to the price). Packaging is good in recyclable plastic, not styrofoam. I could never complain about their service.

I've lived in Vancouver for 25 years and have tried probably 40 or more Chinese food restaurants. I have diverticulitis a very serious case that I basically couldn't walk for 1.5yrs and could and still can not eat and food that is gaseous or im in unexplainable amounts of pain. This is first restaurant that from very first order had no problems whatsoever for my adjustments on my order like no broccoli no onions etc etc and Sonny the owner was so patient with it. It was incredible. Now I order 3 to 5 times a week because my condition has zero room for mistakes or miscommunication. And as a bonus their food is incredible! Always fresh super generous portions, he always offers us free spring rolls and other items and always gives us a cheap price even tho I offer more for their troubles! He even sends a little package of beef that we mix in with the dog food no charge! I dont normally do many reviews but I promise you there is probably not another restaurant like this that truly cares about making u happy

A visiting friend wanted to try "Canadianized" Chinese food so I found this place. It says there is dine-in but when we got there the staff really pushed hard for us to do take out, so we did. My family would probably be horrified as it was definitely not authentic Cantonese food, but I thought it tasted ok, although I wouldn't eat it on a regular basis. The breading on the Honey Garlic Pork was rather thick though, and I don't think there was really much meat inside.

All the stuck-up foodie snobs of Vancouver will tell you this isn't "Chinese" food and they're right. This is westernized stuff like ginger beef, chow mein, sweet and sour pork you would find in a small town. This is the "fast food" version of Chinese food. And honestly- Vancouver needs more places like this. There are millions of dim sum or "proper" chinese restaurants in Vancouver- but places like this seem to be extremely hard to come by in the mainland unless you're at a food court. They're not the best westernized chinese food I've had, but I will defend this place to the death if it means we don't lose a source of almond chicken and chow mein.

I patronized this establishment for a good 25 years. It was a great bargain, up until about three years ago. I always used to get one of the combination dinners, and for a very reasonable price.The portions are as just as generous as they always were, but the chow mein and the rice dishes are nothing but noodles and rice now. Almost no vegetables or meat in them. No more deep fried prawns or fortune cookies with those combination dinners, either. I believe it changed ownership. Anyway, it's a shadow of its former self. Not authentic when a sauce is poured over the barbecue pork , rice and egg .. the rice were cooked with far too much water it looks more like porridge than steamed rice the togo soy sauce sauce weren’t Lee kum Kee .. it’s the generic brand that tastes like salt , food colouring and water .. ????. 10 .00 @ McD was inevitable afterwards . 1. very very greasy- covered in oil. Breading is extremely think, a piece of meat covered in about half an inch of breading before being deep fried. The exterior was completely dark, they probably used the deep frying grease one too may times. I had to take my fork and dig through the flour lumps because it was just thick bread paste. 2. The order took an hour, they forgot to make my food, when I called in they said that they will be by in 10 minutes, they did come in 10 minutes but my food looked like barf, as if they whipped it up in a minute. I flipped the tray upside down and had grease pouring out of it. 3. Their 'pork' is pieces of cut up HAM. Noodle was tasteless. At least veggies weren't overcooked, I just picked through to the veggies. 4. They gave me 2 spring rolls for free because I guess to make up for them being late, but the food was absolutely horrendous and disgusting beyond anything. I had maybe 2-3 bites, had 1 spring roll and now its in a garbage bag to be thrown out. What a waste of 30 dollars. Just called the store because I was horrified of their food, they said they never get complaints of their food, that it was fresh, they also said 'but I gave you free spring rolls'. I don't care of the spring rolls, they were disgusting. I didn't ask for extra food, just the food I ordered made properly. They never got complaints before yet I read reviews after reviews of how disgusting their food is. Maybe they should read through them and see what they can change? I went with their restaurant because the Chinese restaurant I usually order from no longer provide free delivery. What a mistake. Seems like all the restaurants offered by DoorDash are failing companies that can't get customers as is. Should've read through the reviews to see how they were like. What a joke. They should walk 2 blocks up to New Sun and how fresh they make everything, and learn how to make chinese food.

We did not have a great experience with Hot Delivery. Food took over an hour to arrive through Skip the Dishes. The food did not have much flavour, especially the Shanghai noodles, and tasted cheap. It unfortunately was a disappointment as we were craving Chinese food.

Bad experience. 1) order took 80+ mins to get to me, the only reason I ordered was because when I cook my own it takes me around that long! 2) the $8 pork buns were tiny. The tops were all messed up (they looked like they burst open), they were super sticky as well! They were so sticky they were glued to the paper they come with, they only way to salvage them was by peeling the lower layer off (see attached pictures) 3) the General Tso barely had any flavour to it! It was more of a breaded chicken with General Tso after taste, it barely had any sauce on it. It’s a shame because it was nicely breaded but they decided to skimp on the most important part, the sauce! Would not recommend to anyone based on this experience. The portion was big, everything else was either meh or straight up bad (like the pork buns)

Vancouver is overrun with Chinese people they are everywhere like a zombie invasion, pushing, butting in lines, being rude and generally horrible members of society ruining this city, so you'd think this town would atleast have decent Chinese food because all these welding mask wearing old ladies gotta eat right? Nope.. only this place.. this is the only place with good Chinese food.. it's so weird you can get way better Chinese food in rural Ontario then the epicenter of N drivers aka Vancouver. If you want the good stuff go here it's good I promise you.. still doesn't help housing or rent affordability though, if only this place offered a non corrupt government with every delicious combo A we would be fine! In my opinion this is the best western chinese food in Vancouver. We found this place in 2006 and its the only place we order for chinese food since. The food is always hot, tasty and well prepared. The people there are very nice, courteous and your food for pickup is always ready when you arrive. If you want good, hot western chinese food order from Hot Delivery, their prices are reasonable and they have awesome combos as well as dinners for 2 or more people. Very happy with this place. Will not buy chinese food anywhere else. They also give you 10 percent off if you pick up your order.

Was undoubtedly the blandest, most plain chinese ive ever had. Every ingredient tasted the same. Way too overpriced for what it is.

Best Chinese you will have in Vancouver for the best price. They always have good deals and delivery times are insanely fast. Never had a bad experience! I called once 30 mins after closing to see if they would make a last minute dinner for 3 and they did!
