Classy setting and with a good vibe restaurant. Great for meetings to impress clients. The food was just so-so (the steaks was nothing impressive for a steakhouse). Be prepare to pay an EXUBERANT amount of money for just about anything, even a glass of water. This includes side dishes (e.g. veggies) which are not included with the main course (like steak). You're better off finding a waterfront restaurant for the view and better food at a much better price.

Not much needs to be said about their food. Everyone knows it's amazing. I had the bone in rib steak and it was the best steak I've ever had. I'm not a rich man and we went for our anniversary dinner to treat ourselves. I don't have a thousand dollar suit I can wear so sometimes it can feel like your sticking out like a sore thumb in fancy restaurants such as this (not that I was wearing overalls, give me some credit). However, I can tell you I felt right at home because of their amazing staff and servers. These are career servers who make it their craft to have knowledge of the menu, wines and genuinely know how to talk to people and make them feel welcome. In other words they don't just look good in tight low cut top. In the great words of Governor Schwarzenegger, I'll be back.

Top rate experience. Colby is an excellent server. I couldn't have asked for a better host for the evening. He was engaging yet, not overbearing. The food is tremendous, we had the Calamari appetizer, porterhouse, filet with the field mushrooms, broccoli, baked potato, and gorganzola macaroni for sides. The Calamari was prepared perfectly and the entrees could not have been better; and the gorganzola mac & cheese was incredible. The creme brulee caramelization was outstanding and completed the evening. I would highly recommend Gotham to anyone.

The steaks are amazing in size and flavour, the ambiance is stunning, the wine list is outstanding. This is definitely one of my favourite steak houses in the world. Slightly annoying is always the fact that wines from the outstanding wine list are not available. Do not let the waiter suggest a wine. We made bad experience with a poor choice by the waiter after our first choice was not available. Furthermore, the bill was wrong and featured two bottles of wine. When I called the waiter about it, he knew immediately what was wrong with the bill before I explained it to him. A bit dodgy, maybe he tried his luck.

Positive: Our server was very sweet, kind and attentive. The rest: 1. Had to beg to interrupt hostess conversation to be seated at our reservation amid hair flicking, gossip and lip puckering. 2. Dinner could have been warmer, was a little cold. 3. There was a massive party in one half of the room and as a result, it was so noisy we had to yell just to speak to each other at our table. 4. Upon leaving I had to ask multiple people in order to resolve my valet dues. I was told by the staff that my valet had been taken care of by a gentleman at our table. I walked outside to find that the valet had not been paid 'enough' by the gentleman in our party. I was sent back inside to try and find someone that could assist. Eventually after wandering around the place to find someone that would engage me, I found someone who imposed a mandatory tip during my transaction. Now, the valet who clearly had assumed that they automatically receive not only a large tip (50%) from the gentleman has also received a mandatory/forced and very unwelcomed tip from myself. 5. Rude coat check staff. If I hadn't been upset by the above factors I would have been happy to tip. I normally give every server I interact with at least 20%. But when you are treated like garbage and are forced to pay a mandatory tip, that crosses the line.

Jon you're an outstanding man. Probably the best experience+service I've ever had at a restaurant. Everything that I had surprised me today. I forgot the name of the dessert and drinks but Jon recommended them and they were all fantastic choices. Ended up choosing the bone in rib steak and the plate was massive! Perfectly cooked and didn't need any sauce. The clam chowder and oysters were surprisingly delicious as well. Not a big of either but the ones that I had here were absolutely freaking delicious. Oh and even though I'm not a big veggie fan, the organic green salad was amazing too. The service and experience was top notch. Strongly recommend Gotham's! Even though it's pricey, well worth it in my opinion. Hope I'll see you again next time Jon.

I ordered 6oz filet Mignon and seafood tower. I saw 3 waiters stand at the side and keep talking to each other but non of these guys come to refill my water before I leave. The filet I asked for medium rare and it comes with at least medium well to well done, no pink color in the center. It’s the first time I order seafood tower at Gotham but I really suggest them to put a cup of melted butter when it comes with rock crab and king crab. Not the first time dining here but definitely the worst time I have ever had. Will go to Hy’s from now.

Absolutely horrible experience here. Minimum $15 for a cocktail and the ice in the drinks small little pieces that diluted the drinks very quickly. I was overcharged for my porterhouse steak and also had to send it back to get properly cooked the way that I wanted. Apparently medium rare means EXTREMELY rare here... menu is WAY over priced for the service. Service again was horrible. Felt extremely rushed when taking food orders.. I will not come here again with a large group. Extremely disappointed considering all the positive reviews that are on this page.

I get it. It’s fancy and expensive but it’s so dark you can barely see. I absolutely despise the iPad drink menu, very tacky. And I found the food bland for the price and hype. I have been here three times and I will not be returning. Spend less on the gadgets and improve your food please! It’s so boring!!!

Bad and unattentive server Amanda. Did not attend our need for a table of 4. Jaimie waiter, however, was very good, humorous and extremely friendly though. Will come back but would ask for a different server: NOT Amanda. The one star is for Amanda’s poor service. I even had to go to hostess to ask for dessert menu in the end because you were no where to be found. Other top notch steak house in town waitress far exceeded your service. For instance, the steakhouse in Yaletown we went last week - letter begins with E and ends with A.

I visited the (now closed) Miami location 5 years ago and was blown away by the deliciousness of Gotham's steak. I had been wanting to go back for many many years, but when the Miami location closed, I found it difficult to take a trip all the way from the US (Texas) to Canada just for a steak. Never would I have guessed that 5 years later, I would be living in the city of Vancouver. What are the odds! Anyway, My husband and I decided to dine at Gotham Steakhouse again (Vancouver location) on New Years Eve with great anticipation. I would first like to point out, both my husband and I are very seasoned food critics and can dissect food down to the very ingredients it is comprised of. We have traveled all over the world and I suppose you can say we have a sophisticated palate. Although our experience at Gotham was very enjoyable, I am giving it 4 stars because for food to price comparison, I feel that it could have been better. My husband and I both got steaks with accompaniments. Again, the food was not bad. In fact, it was quite enjoyable. I suppose after our Miami experience and being a former Texan, we expected slightly more behind the brand. In addition, For a $300 experience, I left the restaurant feeling that I could have cooked the exact same meal myself.... if not better for half of the price.

What can I say... been here 3 times now as it’s not my price range but love to treat my wife and I once and awhile. Never been overly pleased with my steak and have often left thinking wow I could have made a better steak at home. 2 stars is only because the servers are extremely professional and super polite 10/10 service but the food is honestly just mediocre.

After hearing how extravagant this place is, I got to say This is the place to go for a special date. 5 star decor. 5 star service. 5 star food from steaks, mock-tails, appetizers to dessert. Very clean and extravagant. Got $$$ got to come here for the experience! Tried out the lunch special on Christmas eve that allowed us to try out three different steaks at 3 oz each. The favorite one that I liked was the filet that is very tender and fresh. The only only thing I would say I disliked personally was the steak was a bit salty as I like to taste the fresh meat more when having a nice steak. The manhattan clam chowder was tasty too, however I prefer the new english (white) clam chower that they didn't have. But the manhattan was good too if you don't have a preference. After so many days of the initial review, the most I miss surprisingly is their dessert! This is 2 weeks later that I am adding to the initial review. I can't say enough that the top 5 desserts being a picky dessert person, The sticky toffee and creme brulee is a MUST TRY. It is not too sweet, there is layers to the taste. The Sticky Toffee is perfect, it starts off not too sweet and builds its sweetness. The timing of sticky Toffee to be brought out is important as the ice cream is cold and the Cake is still warmish hot. The Creme Brulee is also not too sweet, the egg itself is not very sweet but mixed with the sugar on top is a perfect combo. Also a side note, back to the steaks, the timing is perfect, the steaks are rested to ensure blood doesn't spill out when you cut the steak, but not cold. The details, details, details that makes this restaurant stand out from the crowd and worth paying despite $$$$. Again, from the beginning of the soups, mocktails, to entree and finishing with dessert, the cleanliness, the details of service - changing plates, cleaning up table scraps without interrupting your conversation - feels like you are being served by a 5 star butler - reminds me of Batman and his butler, very high end service very rare to find today compared to majority of 5 star places including Joe Fortes, Ancora and the so called high end fine dining. 5 STARS hands down for Gotham Steakhouse. You can feel and imagine that you walked in the prestige house of the wealthy when you walk in and being served. Not totally unaffordable for a wow experience if you are willing to spend $200-$300 for lunch or dinner excluding alcohol beverages. Just take your special someone for a special lunch date! This is that place! I look forward coming back for their Sticky Toffee! Yum!

Was my 4th time back to Gotham. My first 2 visits were just ok overall, but the last time I went my meal was spectacular. One of the best steaks I've ever had. So when deciding where to take special guests who recently moved here from Calgary (famous for fantastic steak houses) I thought I'd show them that Vancouver can compete with the best. Unfortunately, that's just not the case. Our meal was very underwhelming. One of the steaks, which cost $125 was ordered medium. It came rare (not medium rare, but rare). The steak was already sliced, so we were quite surprised when they just threw the slices back on the grill. Of course this greatly diminished the quality and tenderness of the steak. If that happened at the keg, a replacement would have been offered, no questions asked. Not only because of the inconvenience, but also because of meeting expectations of guests. The service was really good, it's a great atmosphere in the restaurant and the desserts where great. Sides were mediocre. For 4 of us to eat, it cost $700. A price I am happy to pay, but I expect an exceptional experience. This wasn't even close. Seems to me that this establishment is a bit of a tourist trap. They monetize every little component and don't seem too concerned with quality. Very disappointed. I guess Calgary can retain the title of a better steak house city. Next time, I'll go to the Keg, where the steaks are reasonably priced and always consistently good. There are plenty of far superior high end restaurants in Vancouver, Gotham doesn't come close to most of them. Update* after the manager reached out, he offered to make it right. He provided a generous gift card to return. We did return to give it another chance and I will say, the experience was stellar. The steak was the best I've had. Service was awesome again. If they can maintain this quality, it's absolutely a steak house that competes with the best. Was certainly an experience that would entice me to return.

Was in town for business and decided to try this place. Was not disappointed. Our server was extremely attentive and very knowledgeable. Had the dry-aged New York which was amazing. The portobello mushroom fries as a side we're also really good. Asked our server to recommend a bottle of wine local to the region and his selection did not disappoint. Overall a great experience

This is one of my go-to places for special occasions. Took my little brother here recently for his birthday. We ordered the calamari, bone marrow to start. We shared a porterhouse and a side of mac and cheese and brussel sprouts. Our favorites were the calamari and the steak (of course). I've had better bone marrow elsewhere (le crocodile) so I wouldn't get the bone marrow again. The mac and cheese was a little bit too cheesy for our taste. They used to have the sautéed mushroom and creamed corn as sides, which were my favorites, but for some reasons they weren't on the menu anymore.

Even though my filet came out still ALIVE and had to be sent back not only once but twice, everything else was great. The service from this place was perfect, main server along with at least 4 others tended to our table of 4. All the food came out perfect other than my steak (of course), desserts were outstanding. Server gave me the steak for free along with some drinks which was about 100 dollars off our 450 dollar bill. The manager came by to apologize and in all honesty, a fat filet coming out rare happens and primarily the main reason i prefer to cook my own steaks at home. For 70 dollars you expect perfection, but i will still give 4 stars due to how well they took care of it.

We had a fabulous time at Gotham's. We started with fresh oysters and crab cakes, followed by the TOMAHAWK Steak, NY Steak, lobster tail and two sides (frites and mushrooms). The entire meal was delicious - steak cooked to perfection and the lobster tail was both tender and flavorful. The TOMAHAWK Steak can feed two people (with left overs), so our eyes were a bit bigger than our stomachs. With that said, the services and ambience were on point and Gotham delivered as an exceptional steakhouse. We had a couple drinks after dinner at the bar and also enjoyed the pianist. Great place!

The Fate

Gotham is a standby for us-great staff in the lounge (this is where we always sit). Steaks are ???????????????? well executed and always to order. Side dishes sometimes could be more flavourful in that seasoning is needed. Given the price, your expectations are higher. That being said, I would always recommend Gotham without hesitation-it is the whole package. Staff and service, ambiance, and food always perform.

Steak is good but overpriced. They have a wide selection of cuts and options which is nice if you want something a little different. You have to pay extra for any sides which is a bit ridiculous. I got the filet mignon which to be honest was not any better than a franchise restaurant like The Keg, despite being double the price (with no sides).

I’ve been to plenty of high end steakhouses in toronto, and this place takes the cake. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. My girlfriend wanted one of the drinks but made a lot differently. Although our request was out of the ordinary the waiter went to ask the bartender how we could be accommodated, we were taken care of with a drink that wasn’t even on the menu, will definitely be back.

I dont know where to start, the top of the line service, the unbeatable interior, or the exceptional food. The food here is everything you can ask from a high end restaurant in downtown Vancouver. My Rib Steak was cooked to perfection and the sides are so fresh and delicious. The service is friendly and professional. Overall if you are looking for a high end steakhouse and perfect food, this place should be your choice.

Not a big fan of western food in general but I found that it was pretty good. The porterhouse was tasty and the clam chowder was nothing like I've had before. The mac and cheese was nothing special though. The ambiance of the place is really fancy making it a great spot for dates. The servers are nice and friendly. Nice spot, but a bit dated as a classic dark steakhouse. It still works though. The service was really excellent, attentive and friendly. The wine list was good, but not amazing. The Ipad was pretty terrible in terms of usability. Food was excellent, one of the best steaks I've had this year. Price was very high as expected.

We went on the 14th for my boyfriend's birthday. And obviously the dinner, drinks and service was great however the only reason I'm giving it slightly lower star rating is because our bill at the end of the night was almost $300 and our server knew we were celebrating his birthday, we ordered dessert and most places, that aren't as expensive as Gotham usually comp the dessert or something but we still got charged the $13.00. Seems a little petty but for a place meant to have great service, you would think they wouldn't have problem just giving free dessert to the birthday boy.. just saying..

I went here with two friends on Sunday after the pride parade. The restaurant was completely empty and after being made to wait for a table, we were put in a corner away from sight. During our entire visit, no new tables were added and we were wondering why we were shoved in the corner until the white straight couple showed up with their kid. Ah, keep the gays out of site! It is sad that a company that advertises to the community treats us like this. The rest of the meal was mediocre with parts of the ordering being lost, loud verbal arguments (yelling) at the kitchen which removed the last bit of shine that could have been a great night. We paid, and have left forever!

Overall the experience here was quite enjoyed. The atmosphere and food was nothing less than spectacular. I dined on the garlic shrimp, mashed potatoes, cauliflower and grean beans. None failed to be well received by my taste buds. The staff was polite and comfortable to interact with, which only added to the delightfullness of the night. Nonetheless the restaurant is quite pricey. Additionally, the live music was kind of a hit or miss.

I have tried many fine dining restaurants and I am good cook too, then I don’t get fooled easily,or I can say my expectation is high. This is a very expensive restaurant,for nothing. Food quality, presentation, and taste were in a medium or even below the medium. I had a salad( organic greens) , which was even below the Macdonald salad. I have the photo. Not even a beautiful presentation or a fancy dish, or garnishes...nothing. In my company, my husband ordered veal chop. Meat was good , good portion, but nothing especial. My son got aged rib steak for 159 cad , Good portion of meat but like medium range barbecue restaurant. The knives were not sharp and we have to do wrestling to cut a piece. Any way, not worth to pay or try their food. Our waiter was a good man , although the idea of wearing white scrubs, is not appealing to me...

Execrable service and management. I came here with my girlfriend to celebrate our anniversary. We were served by a gent aged around mid to late 40's. Us, being from Europe we are used to very nice favorable fruity wines and have had terrible experiences with Canadian wines. The waiter kept bugging us about Canadian wines and would not leave us alone to have a look at the European selection they have on the menu. Finally after getting 5 mins of peace... we had chosen our Italian wine of choice where the waiter consistently tried to persuade us again stating that Canadian wines are more fruity and better than European wines, which from our experience Canadian wines are terrible and leave you with the worst headache. If this is what you call good service to constantly bug a nice couple on their anniversary not letting them have peace to decide which one to choose, then i have little to say about this place. We complained to management "ALANA" after this experience, which she done completely nothing about it. I highly do not recommend this place and it is hugely overpriced for the quality they have to offer both food and wine!. Dreadful experience!!

The place is lovely with a nice ambiance. We sat on the top floor where it was more chilled and private. The waiters were attentive. The butternut squash soup was delicious but unfortunately I got sick from the bone marrow (thankfully the issue cleared up before our planned evening show started at Cirque du Soleil). The BEST steak in town. Very good, down-to-earth service, cozy and upscale interior in style of a modern New York steakhouse, and a surprisingly nice patio. The steaks are excellent, cooked just right, delicious sides, seafood, and starters. I recommend starting with the bone marrow, it's outstanding. My only complaint would be that there needs to be a dress code applied. The amount of people in t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops (just ... why?) Is too high for a place of this class.

One of the best experiences I ever had at any restaurant. I booked via online for a birthday as I live in Alberta. Brian was nothing but professional, friendly and courteous. He was quick on his feet and answered all the questions we had about the menu. The appetizer was beyond mind blowing even though it was soup. But I was full of flavour. Steak cooked to perfection, they even lit the candles for the birthday cake and had the chef cut it. Great service. One feed back I can give is to be able to offer kosher meat if it can be ordered a head if time to accommodate different religious people. But the great service may have over shadowed and set the bar high for restaurants in the area.

Dined in the lounge for dinner, and had the shrimp cocktail, cheese toast, oysters, caesar salad, and a NY strip, along with a few drinks. The service was professional, prompt and friendly without being too overwhelming which is the best style. They were out of our choice of champagne, along with the dry aged rib chop which was disappointing, and our steak came out sliced, but undercooked (ordered medium, was served medium rare) but nonetheless the food was good. Classic steakhouse fare that is executed well.

If you’re in the mood for steak, this is the place to come. Expect to pay at least $70 for that slab of meat. All the sides, even a sauce, are extra. The steaks are excellent but I have found the side dishes to be mostly disappointing. We come once or twice a year since it opened so we’ve actually tried most of them although they tweak the menu every now and then. We had cauliflower au gratin last night and it was cold. I think it’s precooked cauliflower from a refrigerator that they put cheese over and then grill. The cheese becomes hot but the cauliflower remains cold. We sent it back and they made us a new batch and took it off our bill. The second was still no better than lukewarm. We didn’t bother to try again. The service is excellent. The decor is nice but I find the restaurant a bit too dark, so much so I had some trouble reading the menu.

One of the best steaks I have ever had! The server was amazing and the ambience was perfect for an upscale dinner without being pretentious. Highly suggest their featured cocktails as well as the creme brulee. The only downside is the price of the sides, everything else is within reason but $12 for two slices of cheese toast is a bit much.

It was ok. Not worth the money. Service was mediocre. Each had one drink but she never came back to ask if we wanted another. She even took our empty glasses and didn't ask! Definitely not what you would expect. My filet mignon was very grisly. Thankfully they removed it from the bill. My friends asked for medium rare steak and they got blue rare. Prawns were overcooked. Sides were ok. Not great. Nice decor and relaxing atmosphere, but It's a 3 star restaurant with 8 star prices. Strange because everybody raves about it. Maybe we just picked a bad night to go?? At $600 for 2 couple's to eat and each have one drink, I won't go back.

First time going to Gotham, we always went to their sister restaurant HY's. Our server Beau was very friendly, he didn't over suggest on the menu and the amount of food we should order. Our porterhouse steak was cooked just perfect! We celebrated our wedding anniversary and my husband was impressed with everything. We sat on the lounge side which was more lively and casual, but we will try the dining area next time for something more formal.

During our visit to Vancouver last year we made a dinner reservation at Gotham. The previous year while holidaying in Vancouver we had been unable to obtain a reservation. Consequently, we were very happy to to have to been able to make a reservation. However, that is where our happiness ended. Upon our arrival we were informed there would be a short wait. That was acceptable. However, over half an hour later, our table was still not available in spite of there being empty tables. Upon further inquiry, my husband was informed, "We can't ask our guests at the table to leave". Fair enough but what about us? What about our reservation? We were not offered a drink during our wait but were informed we could order from the bar if we wished. As if!! So we ultimately left as we were not prepared to sit and wait whilst being ignored by staff. In other fine dining restaurants where a delay had occurred a complimentary drink was offered. Not so at Gotham. To say we were disappointed is putting things mildly. I have debated over writing a review for quite a while but have now decided to do so. The chances of us visiting Vancouver in the near future is somewhat slim so I guess a visit to Gotham is pie in the sky! Thank goodness there are other restaurants where patrons are welcomed. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the quality of the food presented at Gotham as nothing passed my lips.

Was treated here for my birthday. We booked reservations for the evening and as soon as we arrived we were seated right away. First thing I noticed was the high ceilings and art deco styled theme which looked really nice. It's super dark inside which I liked but I could tell some older people inside had a hard time reading their menus and were using the flashlight on their phones. One of the first things that were presented to us by the waiter was the drink menu which was presented on a tablet which seemed pretty neat. When you select a drink on the menu it will have a little story about the drink and what's its composed of. For food we started with appies and we ended up going with the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail and the Beef Carpacio. The Shrimp were massive and tasted really fresh. The Carpacio was good as well but the tiny/thin piece of bread that comes with it was a bit mediocre which was a bit of a disappointment considering how good the beef was. For our mains we ordered the 24oz Porter House steak which was absolutely amazing and is quite possibly the best steak I've had. It was perfect for sharing between two people and it was cooked evenly throughout to perfection. We ordered mash and cheese toast as extras. Heard the cheese toast was supposed to he quite the hit here and it did not dissapoint. For dessert we had the Belgian Chocolate Bourbon Cake. It wasn't overly rich and was served warm. Lastly, the service we received here was some of the best I've ever had. Very professional waiter who knew the menu inside out and offered great recommendations. Never did we feel rushed and he timed everything perfectly when it came to ordering in between appetizers so we didn't have to wait too long.

Jamie was our server and if you’re lucky to have him serve you, you’re in for a wonderful experience. He made us feel welcomed and took care of us to a tee! This place is actually a lot less fancy than I imagined. I've always heard about how good this place is and how expensive, but I think it's average compared to other high end restaurants in terms of price. The portions were more than generous and definitely filling. The food was good. I have no complaints, but might not be up to the hype? Still, it was definitely an awesome experience. Would I come back? Maybe, if I feel like treating myself.

Not our first time dining at Gotham as we have always enjoyed dining there on and off over the past 6 years.This time however the attentiveness was lacking compared to other visits..but that’s ok, perhaps the restaurant was busy or there are other things going on behind the scene that can affect that... however, the lamb came out over done...the server never asked if the meat was as expected... then when a desert was ordered the creme brûlée was burned (burnt to the point the the sugar was black and bitter, Most definitely over done) this oversight was instantly noticeable to me and therefore would have been noticeable to whoever was manning the pass and the 2nd line of defence... our server who again did not ask or seem to care. Therefore I am rating them 1 star and will unfortunately be not booking a return visit anytime soon.

The interior is modelled in an art nouveau 1920s Boston or New York prohibition style. The servers seem unhappy yet forced to act like they're having a great time. They knocked over the drinks at our table twice and seemed too exhausted to clean up the mess. Meanwhile the prices are too high for the quality, the mixed drink selection is bland, they close at midnight and the classic gangster cosplay nerdiness adds to the fake, theme restaurant cheapness.

I like a good steak. And I like high end steak houses. So I did the tour of some of the top rated steak houses in the city. Unfortunately Gotham’s fell short of a passing grade. It all started with the Martini. It was one of the worst martinis I’ve ever had and for $22 I was not impressed. Then came the cheese bread - a Hys tradition?! The steak was fine but there wasn’t any “wow” factor. So I gotta ask myself if I would spend another $500 on dinner for 2 at Gotham? Nope.

This is hands down the best steakhouse in Vancouver. I have been here twice before, and this time it did not disappoint me either. Throughout the years the quality of their service as well as the steak were consistently great. The servers are really knowledgeable of the steak, you can ask them any questions. Their steak are typically dry aged 28-35 days, while some are dry aged 60 days. The steak itself is amazing, full of flavour, while the cook is on point, regardless a thick cut or a thin cut steak. If you are going in a group, feel free to ask to share the steaks and get them to cut the steak for you (easier to share). They are very flexible and will do everything to make your dining experience comfortable.

Came here for our first wedding anniversary. It was our first and last time at the restaurant. Table on the second floor balcony was vibrating the entire time during our meal and we don’t know why; maybe due to the speakers. Ask the waiter to change your seat if they sit you there. Our server James rushed our meal to the point that made us feel like he wanted us to leave. Steak was given almost raw when we ordered medium rare, field mushrooms were way too sour. Portobello fries were watery. I’ve told the manager on the floor about the incident and she offered to bring us back in for a dinner with a gift card. We declined the offer because we will not be back.

The item prices on the menu might be a little bit of intimidating. with some entrees go well above the $100 territory. You should be surprised (in a good way) with the "entry levels" which still costs around $50-$70. For example, the double cut lamb chop, New Your strip steak. Comparatively, though dishes here usually are two to three times more costs than the cactus club or the leg, the portion overall is noticeably better. In addition to the well made steaks, this restaurant offers high-end dining space that is suitable for any business events, long or short. It can be a great choice when you take your business clients out or treat your families on the special occasions.

Always phenomenal food and empicible service. A joy to go there and worth every penny just remember to bring many dollars. But that's what top shelf dining costs. In all it's glory and class you still feel like you are home or at a friend's house just with the red carpet out and king for a day. Drinks were superb, they even made me mine from an old menu exactly the same four years ago when I was there last. Ordered the seafood tower with high expectations and were not disappointed just miffed a bit. Over half the items were semi still frozen in the center. Yes seafood has to be cold but I can see why it used to be pre-ordered. That way some items would be able to thaw and be chilled. Obviously the items are prepared in advance then made to order. Tasty just I see how they appear to be fresh but the tower seemed production line processed. Steak was cooked flawless. Exactly rare medium rare as I like it and how the two different cuts of the Porterhouse are meant to be. Sides perfect to match the high quality of every little detail. Our server Mark was magnificent. Friendly, courteous, quick, skilled , knowledgeable and great sense of humour. Recommended an impressive wine when I choose Zinfandel. My favourite restaurant and proved it once again. Not one single negative comment on it about anything. A complete 100% incredible dining experience that one should have in their lifetime to know what level the bar is at. Gotham is gold and all the others are a distant second, who remembers silver anyway. Looking forward to my return visit when the Tomahawk steak will be mine. Treat yourself and go there. You deserve it and the experience will astound you.

Went there for dinner on Nov. 13th. Based on the good reviews, we were very excited about it. However, the overall experience was way under our expectations. The service was just ok, not great. Our server has a good understanding of the menu, but he did not check in with us often during our dining and seemed more interested in talking to others. Not too bad, just not great. Well, I still tipped him 20% which is $50. Food was our biggest issue. The taste was ok, but not sure about the quality. Both of us had quite bad diarrhea after eating there. We ordered our own drink but shared food. Because both of us had diarrhea, I guess the problem should be from their food-the only same thing that we ate on that day. Not sure if other customers who went Gotham on the same day had the problem too. I agree with others that the ambience there is quite nice. But food wise, I honestly can’t recommend this restaurant to anyone. My birthday is on December 24th, but my partner and I chose to celebrate this evening as it was the only night we both had available with our very busy schedules. We both love Gotham and have been coming here for many years. Of all of the steakhouses in Vancouver that we love going to, I particularly chose Gotham for my birthday. We always have a wonderful time here and the food and service is always outstanding. The cocktails and wine match just as perfectly. We had a wonderful evening and obviously cannot wait to come back for our next celebration, or lunch date haha. I would also like to address some of the one star reviews that are sitting on this page. I find it quite hilarious that people have the nerve to complain about valet or anything else for that matter in a establishment that is high-end and geared towards a higher-end clientele, or a clientele that is coming out for a special occasion. Don't forget, these are rich people problems. And all of the years I have been coming to this restaurant, I have never had an issue that is enough to upset me. We understand that we are privileged enough to dine here, and many people will never have the opportunity because it is not in their budget. We are very grateful for all the experiences we have here at Gotham, and if anybody is reading this review, I strongly advise you don't take into consideration the one-star reviews. In my opinion, these are just people that are trying hard to be ritzy. This restaurant is always on point. We love you Gotham, and we cannot wait to return!

You have to take the good with the bad. The BAD: your eating with gangsters, when the police do the rounds of the restaurant you know their are people with guns in this place. Gotham is really a great place to dine whether for a date with your partner or for a family affair. My two kids enjoyed their kids meal (penne pasta and grilled cheese which only cost around $10 each). They also had an ice cream sundae that they were able to share because of the big serving. For my husband and I, we enjoyed their sumptuous dry aged new york steak and steak with lobster. Worth every penny we paid for. Our experience became way better because of our server, Erenee. She's such a delight!! Will really come back!

First off the atmosphere is great, the service is impeccable. This is a steak house, so if you are craving an amazing cut of beef cooked to perfection, than Gotham is the place! Our server suggested a bottle of wine that complimented our food perfectly. Came here with work friends. Pretty impressed with the steak here. Great atmosphere. Expensive steaks but worth the visit for special occasion. One downside is that the washroom is all the way down to the basement so not user friendly for seniors. I ordered the porter house which was big enough to share with another person. The sides were also good. Drinks are on the expensive side and nothing special about it.

Came here with a party of seven and they catered to our every wish. The only reason I don't give this place 5 stars is because I think the food can be better. Had lunch here, was surprised how bad it was. A steak sandwich was a piece of steak on a normal peace of bread for $40. Meat was very tasty despite being overcook, but compared to what you get at the keg the food was embarrassing at this price. The service was fantastic and salad was really good. Dinner might be different, but the restaurant was almost empty the entire lunch.

Normally way above my pay grade, I went during happy hour where it's less 40% and had the steak sandwich and a few oysters. I order the steak 1 level more raw then I would like since they cook 1 level above what you ask. The NY steak sandwich is one of the best values. Great with oysters and a nice house red.

What an outstanding night. The food was so amazing. We had crab cakes, cheese toast, the porterhouse, mashed potatoes and the cauliflower. One of the best meals we had in a long time. I came here for valentines dinner and I have to say aside from my server I wasn’t really impressed. Idk if it’s because I didn’t get bread as soon as I sat down or because they didn’t try to tell me their specials or recommendations but I really wasn’t impressed with this restaurant. I would have rather spent the same amount if not more at another steakhouse. The food was good but I didn’t see the wow factor, nothing at the restaurant stood out for me and it’s not worth the price. I don’t think I would voluntarily come here again.

My partner and I visited last week and we had a wonderful time! Our servers were all very friendly (I believe our main server was Amanda? It was her first day back after a few weeks off - I'm so sorry if I got your name wrong!). She made excellent cocktail recommendations and accurately answered our questions so the food was exactly what we expected. We also had another very lovely server who kindly explained the seafood tower and the sauces in detail. We tried the clam chowder, seafood tower, porterhouse steak, mashed potatoes, French martinis for cocktails and crem brulee and bourbon chocolate cake for dessert - we enjoyed them all (particularly the steak!) and the dishes were perfectly timed, as requested. We also had a very nice chat with Colby on the way out and thoroughly enjoyed the live music. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience. Absolutely loved the vibe and the people - will definitely be revisiting, and we will try the cheese toast per Colby's recommendation. Thank you for such a great time!

A phenomenal place to explore different cuts of steak from the cow. The mood fit the idea of fine dining yet still somehow managed to remain casual. The waiter Colby was a joy to speak with, catering his attitude to all audiences across all ages. And when the steak came, we were delighted to see a gorgeous cut of steak with perfect flavors. The tomahawk steak had developed a perfect duality of crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The porterhouse was an excellent balance of tender and flavorful. And the filet is so soft and tender it's like sinking your head into a pillow. Even the desserts were good. The creme brulee had a magnificent caramel crust and creamy vanilla filling, the brownie was chocolaty and soft, and the cheesecake was marvelous. Overall, the restaurant goes beyond expectations and so does the staff.

I always feel hesitant to give a poor review but our experience was so underwhelming of our expectations of this restaurant that I felt compelled to.Steak Houses like Gotham,Mortons,Capital Grill ect really have a simple task to perform.Provide a nice atmosphere,good service, delicious sides and a great steak.Gotham provided a nice atmosphere as we were seated upstairs which allowed us to chat with our dinner companions.Wine,one martini and a sparkling water for the non drinker was ordered with only the first two successfully ever arriving.Starters, two porterhouses to split among four, sides and a baked potato were ordered.Starters were fine but the steaks at one hundred and eighty dollars for the pair were surprisingly poor with the meat being stringy and incredibly average in flavor. The sides were good but the baked potato arrived ice cold and after waiting for five minutes we had to flag down a bus boy to bring us the trimmings.We left a bit disenchanted without ordering desert and had cocktails at the Wedgewood where we agreed that perhaps the restaurant just had a bad night.However at this price point they should be careful as there is more and more competition for the fine dining dollar

In all fairness this review is based on one experience. I would definitely eat here again. The food was excellent, the service was great. My issues were the time it took to get our food. In the big scheme of things though it wasn't a huge deal. My biggest issue is when I ordered 2 glasses of Macallan M. The waiter went and grabbed the menu to make sure I knew what I was ordering and what the price was. I tried my best to not get upset about it. I knew what I was ordering. Maybe because I wasn't wearing a suit threw him off?? I don't know. Then when we got our drinks, the glass it was served in was chipped!! I was shocked. A $500 glass of Scotch, and it was served in a chipped glass. Then all he did was pour the Scotch from one glass to another, which made a bit of a mess. If you're going to question if I can afford a drink, you'd better make sure you serve it properly. I got over it and enjoyed the drink. I was expecting some sort of offer to make it right. Maybe some discount etc. Literally nothing. I will eat here again. I would recommend it to anyone I know. I just wouldn't order something expensive!!

Service was incredible, the food was incredible, the wine and cocktails were incredible. Nothing bad to say at all. We had the Kobe Wagu Wagu appetizer, Fillet Mignon steak, and were recommended a delightful bottle of red from the okanagan that paired wonderfully with the steaks and sides. For desert we shared one of everything, and washed it all down with a few old fashioned's. Given the quality, even with a reasonable price, it still delivered solid value.

If you’re looking for steak for two, Gotham is the place to be. Their Porterhouse steak is cooked to perfection! The meat is so juicy and tender and just lightly salted! For appetizers, the Bone Marrow is amazing. Their staff is very friendly and the ambiance is great for dinners.

Went there with my wife during a weekend evening. We ordered oyster, dry aged rib steak and spinach. The oyster is no good because it is not fresh and small. The eating utensil is not clean and even after when I pointed out to the server, the one replaced is still not clean. And no, I am not those picky customers who would pick on small matter. I requested medium rare for the rib steak and it came almost well done. I would say 80-85% cooked to be fair. I brought to the server attention and he sounded it is normal and pretended nothing happen. I was upset because the steak is well over $120 and I thought it would come out nicely but it didn't happen. The server isn't helpful at all. My friend told me I didn't order wine and that's the reason I am not getting any service. Oh well, all I can say is bad luck.

I've had better experience at Gotham's. This time we were sat on the top floor, but what a horrible experience. The smoke from the kitchen rises to the top floor where we sat - it smelled, made my eyes watery and I smelled like smoke when I left. It was our friends birthday, we tried to not make a fuss, but it was unacceptable the kind atmosphere to eat in especially it was a more expensive restaurant. From opening the door of the taxi to recommending a dessert the staff made our day. The steaks were delicious as well as the sides. When is the last time you heard a waiter told you (with proud) their restaurant is the best of the town? Can't easily recall it, right? Well, staffs in Gotham will definitely helps you. You can tell they do believe the restaurant has the best steak in Vancouver, and the truth is, it does. It is a perfect place for date, a bit dark, but pretty cool & romantic, with very friendly waiter/ress. Clam chowder - which is red but not regular white - is wonderful, warm & cure. Steak tarte mixed with cooked & raw beef, perhaps anchovy also, taste great. My recommendation is to go with sliced radish & tomato, the fresh & acidity can create a fantastic balance in your mouth. The French bread that come with beef capaccio is very well baked with cheese & herbs, super crunchy, it creates different textures and make beef itself more tasty. Steak is perfectly cooked, both lamb & New York strip are well seasoned. Mashed potato is delicious, as well the squish (hey! Today is Halloween!) And the portion is big, both of us can only eat half of the entree, not to say dessert. The cost for 2 without tips is about 325 CAD, pretty fair for me. After all, it is a wonderful dinner, you can never value it with money.

Geoff is AMAZING! His recommendations are detailed and you literally want to eat anything he talks about lol. He’s great at explaining, wonderful for a laugh and very professional. We were there for Father’s Day yesterday and it was an incredible experience. The food is delicious! He was also super attentive to making sure everything was safe for me to eat (pregnant with twins) He really made our experience that much better. Appetizers: Oysters (raw) I didn’t eat them but the fam loved them. Cooked oysters were pretty good. The bone marrow is delicious. The garlic shrimp was yummy too. Loved the sauce on it. We wanted the calamari too but I think we forgot to order it ???? Dinner: I had the fillet with lobster. Sadly I couldn’t eat it medium rare but it was still delicious even though it was cooked a longer. I think next time I would just get the steak though. Lobster is soooo much better in PEI. I’m very spoilt and prefer it over there. The sides were yummy too. I loved the field mushrooms - oh boy where they tasty! Mashed potatoes were creamy and perfect. Cauliflower gratin was good, not a huge fan of the Brussels sprouts dish, would have preferred it to have more sprouts less potato/sausage. Everyone else loved their steaks as well. They had, porterhouse, filet, one of the dry aged steaks (I forget which dry aged my dad ordered but he said it was excellent) I forget what my sisters friend ordered but she enjoyed it. Dessert: Oh my gawd the sticky toffee pudding *drools* absolutely delicious! Creme brûlée was yummy and the berries with ice cream was nice too. I really wanted to try the sorbet. Geoff made it sound soooooo good. Want to try something chocolate next time too. Everyone else loved all their drinks (beers, sour pisco, lots of wine lol, - oh the Taylor Fladgate port 10 years smelled amazing. I’ve tried it before and it is nice with dessert) I had a virgin mojito and it was really nice and refreshing. Yep, very happy with our dinner last night and highly recommend!

My husband was craving steak, and as I'm a vegetarian, it's not a very common item in our household, so we decided to venture out.... We've been to Gotham before, and have always had incredible service.... This time, we sat outside on the patio... The seating is very comfy and the tables are huge! It felt like we were in a private villa in spite of being right downtown. The staff accommodated my vegetarianism with an excellent selection of veggies, grilled perfectly and artfully presented, and my husband's steak was up to his very high standards. Our server was wonderful and it was a great experience over all!

First time to Gotham and truly enjoyed everything! Ken was super helpful and his service was excellent! Steaks were cooked perfectly and no need for any other seasoning or sauces. The French Martini's were great! Two of us shared the Caesar salad and cheese bread which was just perfect. We also shared the seasonal veggies which was snap peas with shallots and the cauliflower gratin. They were great and enough for two of us with a bit to take home! Finished off sharing the cheesecake which was also yummy! All in all, it was a great experience. Pricey, but for a special occasion, it was worth it.

Gotham is an old fashion steak house with plenty of space on two floors with outdoor patio for summer times. Large booths with burgundy velvet seating. Classic and comfortable. Our host, Jamie, was friendly and knowledgeable. Got us really good wines that we all enjoyed and his food suggestions were right on. We started with the beet salad which was served with a giant bocconcini in the middle, and perfect to share. The highlight of the evening was the 40oz long bone in steak that we order with sides of asparagus , mashed potato and mushrooms. All the sides were delicious and we had a great time. The sticky pudding was a sweet end to our dinner with some light coffee. The cheese cake was alright but I recommend trying the pudding.

Caesar salad was great, but have had much better in recent memory for similar price. Beef bourguignon with pasta was great, but not the best I've had. Gorgonzola macaroni was my favorite out of everything I tried. Lovely taste and texture. Cake was delicious. Cocktails were fantastic. Perfectly-portioned Aperol spritz. Plenty of interesting drinks to choose from and some great recommendations from server.

I've been to Gotham a few times now and although there's nothing bad about the food it is also nothing special, especially for the price (sides are all additional charges as nothing actually comes with your steak). The atmosphere is a little blasé. The servers are generally attentive. If you want a more interesting atmosphere and experience (and maybe some sides with your steak) I'd say head on over to Joe Forte's.

Stunning. Speechless. In the same way Gotham City is held gleaming in comic book veil, this restaurant nails many levels of excellence in a way that is difficult to present on a checklist. The music is upbeat without being niche or cliche - just the right mix of chill and zing - hats off there. Ordered the porterhouse and seasonal vegetables, and as this is in October, the squash was great and an excellent addition to probably the most perfectly cooked medium rare I've been served at a restaurant to date. The staff and barkeep are friendly, humorous and a delight - the brandy soaked cherries fill a hole I didn't know I had. I will be back again. I understand this excellence comes at a premium price, and without disappointment the experience matches the expectation. Thanks for a great evening!

Probably the best thing about this place was the service. The aroma from the food and the ambience of the piano in the background had me amazed. Ken was my waiter and he was attentive pleasent and caring, I swear there must be clones of him he was everywhere to everyone in my area and shows the same positive energy well done sir!. The only complaint was the kniefs needs sharpening, the meat melted in my mouth but when my teeth are sharper than your blades it's a problem. I had the tomahawk of course, you just have to once!

As time goes on, I find myself enjoying Gotham less and less. When I started coming here a few years ago, the quality of food was top tier and it truly felt like the price was justified. My visit here a few weeks ago may be my last sadly. My steak was mediocre and had a taste like it had been sitting on the plate for some time before being brought to my table. The side dishes were also quite mediocre; nothing wrong but the taste was bland and uninspired. I feel like Gotham needs a revamp of their menu and some life brought into the kitchen. The only thing that stays consistent is their excellent customer service; that is bulletproof. For the AAA price, I expect AAA food and it hasn't been that way for some time now.

If it wasn't for the ambience and the helpfulness of the waiters, it would have gotten one star instead of 2. The appetizers were okay but my friend had to return her calamari because it wasn't cooked properly. I thought the NY Strip could have been topped with a special sauce and that's a bad sign - a well cooked and seasoned cut of high quality meat should be able to stand out on its own without interference after cooking.

Excuse the poor quality photo. We went to Gotham for my sister's birthday and it was lovely. We decided to share 2 steaks between 4 people and got a whole bunch of sides. Everything was cooked perfectly and for sides we got the cheese toast (sooo delicious), portobello mushroom fries (a must!), mashed potatoes and the brussel sprouts and chorizo hash. Sorry to write this review a week late. Yes , we were at Gotham steak place last sunday after a gammam n Hamam therapy. Oh god! I wish i could relive those two experiences again but don’t know yet. I actually had the best rum cocktail here n so i chucked in two side by side. ???? Lets talk about ambiance of this place. I would say very classy. Both indoor and outdoor is very semi casual and semi formal environment. Beautifully landscaped and plant decor concrete patio is my favourite and thats what we chose for our seating or i guess we were reserved at that table as the server lead us there. ( i guess thats what happened ???? . Never mind all in all , it was a perfect sunny day on a gracious patio and extremely friendly and enthusiastic servers. Good servers will make you order more food just as a good cook will make you eat more. Apparently it was our fault to order too much food . Our server just obliged to our requests and we do that often because once we find vegetarian items on the menu , we just want ti try them all. But everything we ordered was cooked to perfection, delicious and healthy (beet salad to name some healthy stuff) . There are plenty of non vegetarian n seafood available but vegetarians are not left behind. Some can also be customized to maje it vegetarian like our brussel sprouts. I sometimes eat chicken so i was tempted to eat stuffed barbecue chicken which i must say was not only delicious but juicy too. Since i dont eat chicken regular so i coukd eat only onr leg/thigh of it but the portion could be small for bigger appetite people. Very yummy though. Clean cutlery, super clean washrooms, well dressed and fully masked and gloved servers greet you from time to time, take away used cutlery and empty utensils from your table so i realkt liked that one table was served food by one server but the table cleaning or water or drink refilling was taken care by any servers . Tables were cleaner for u to lean on after drinking few drinks. Deserts are many too but i drooled over brulee after long time n it was worth every calorie i gained that day

What a place! Officially my favorite steakhouse place in Vancouver. And yes, they are owned by Hy’s in case you were wondering because of the all the quality and similarities! The veal was perfectly made. The beet salad was among the best. And fresh oysters were very good even though I’m not a true Vancouverite and obsessed with seafood! Decor was very nice too, on par with Hy’s Toronto (and much better than Hy’s Vancouver). Service is professional and classic and they coat check even in the Covid-19 era.

I had a lovely anniversary diner here, the atmosphere was wonderful and the service was great! It makes me fell like the art of service after all is not dead. Beau, you have mastered your craft! On a less positive note, we unfortunately didn’t get the steaks cooked the way we ordered. My wife and I both ordered the 21oz Bone-in Prime Rib. Her’s was to be medium plus and mine to be medium rare. She ended up with very well done and mine was well done. The last time I dined at their sister restaurant Hy’s I had the most amazing steak of my entire life. I sadly didn’t get to re-live that experience.

Came to picked order for New Year’s Eve around 5:30 and met Ben by the door very friendly he charge me for the food but not tips and I ask why he said since it’s just a pick up but I insist and tip $40 on a $182.18 bill. Came home very excited as we ordered a Bone in New York strip suppose to be medium well done but after my wife cut it to be shared I notice after that it’s not medium well done the steak did not taste good specially it came from Gotham Steakhouse vedisappointed. The rest of the food is really good but my family loved the creamed corned. I called Ben and told him about the steak and he offered a refund the cost on the steak I told him no just informed the chef he insist so I suggest a credit since we know we are still coming back however he said he may forget and offered a refund so I gave him my credit card. After a few minutes I got a text from my bank that there’s another charge for $118.13 so I check online and notice I was billed again i called Ben and he verified I was charge again luckily I am not on my limit so he refunded me twice. He apologize said he was doing everything on his own it, However I was really super disappointed on the steak this was the second time this year we ordered a pick up and last one was not bad not great so we thought to try it out again since it’s Gotham but now I don’t feel the craving of their steak. I always had that crazy craving when I tried other restaurants and ordered steak and I always told my wife and daughter that Gotham ruined me for any other steak and now thank god I can finally eat other steak somewhere lol

Friendly, seasoned staff who know their stuff (newest being at least 2.5yrs there!). Do try items other than their steak. Appys we had: dungeness crab cake (one solid cake of sweet crab with a tangy dill sauce 5/5), calamari, beef carpaccio. Mains: double cut lamb done medium rare (very good), steak & lobster (also very good), shish kebab on a bed of ride (beef pieces a little on the tough side). Sides: king crab legs (only 3, but entirely worth it. Large, juicy, sweet and very fresh. 5/5), potato Lyonnaise (tasty! Was recommended this over mash by our server), bread with cheese (so-so. Just melted cheese on a couple slices of baguette). Dessert: both chocolate bourbon cake and cheesecake were quite regular and not much to scream about. Overall a very good experience albeit on the expensive side.

I went there for a special dinner and was super excited to try it. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out to the table rare/blue which was upsetting. I was looking at my steak with a bit of disappointment and my server came and said “would you like me to cook that up for you?” before I even said anything or explained what was wrong with it (so clearly he knew it wasn’t right). Our server then tried to justify the undercooked steak by saying “our medium rare is more red than other places”, he didn’t apologize, he didn’t try to compensate… instead he picked up my steak with a fork from the table beside us and cooked it. I was very disappointed to say the least and the way the server dealt with the situation was rude and unhelpful, for the amount you’re paying I would expect better service. There’s so many other steakhouses in Vancouver that I don’t think I’ll be going back to Gotham again. *refer to the attached photos*

We started off with beef carpaccio and shrimp cocktail. The beef carpaccio was the best beef carpaccio I’ve had so far! For entree we had Porterhouse Steak with mashed potatoes and cauliflower gratin for sides. The steak was out of the moon! So juicy and tender! Also loved the mysterious cocktail bartender made for me with gin and grapefruit. The drink was sweet and full of layers. Price point on the higher end but food was absolutely worth the visit.

I wanted a great steak, but did not want to do the cooking. My wife is stranded in Peru and I am home alone. Gotham's curb-side service provided the perfect option. But, how good could a pickup and take home steak be? Incredible! Delicious and melt-in-your-mouth. The 20 oz Ribeye was rounded off with their simple, yet exquisite tasting mashed potatoes and scrumptious Caesar Salad. Thanks, Gothams and for my next order, I know exactly what I am having. The lounge man literally TOSSED our bill fold on the table. Manager promo’d the happy hour priced glasses of wine. All and all? Better places to spend $250. ????????‍♀️ We were prepared to spend a lot more for our final night in Vancouver. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

My husband took me here for my birthday. I am a big lover of steak, so it was perfect. My go to place is usually black and blue, but I was blown away. The steak was so amazing and perfect, just how I asked it to be cooked. Our server made a great suggestion for the wine, which went great with the streak and to make my evening more perfect they brought out a beautiful piece of cake to celebrate my bday :) everything from the beef carpaccio, to the side of tomatoes and onion rings was great. Definitely will be celebrating more milestones here in the future!

In the heart of Vancouver Downtown, right beside of St Regis hotel, the Gotham Steakhouse has such a fancy calm environment. There is a parking lot in its back and optional valet service. They have the lounge or dining ambience. During summer you can also enjoy the nice weather in the internal garden with a fire place. The food is high quality, proportional to its price. We started with a delicious warm cheese toast. The stake was excellent. Super tender and tasty. Well made. Actually, I was delighted with the Brussels sprouts. It was extremely tasteful and magnificent. I also loved the dessert, a Toffee Pudding. It has a surprising pinch of cinnamon, making such a perfect link between the warmth of the Pudding and the cold of the vanilla ice-cream, having the delicious caramel sauce to complete it. I loved this experience.

One of the few restaurants in Vancouver with the quality to back up their price point. The servers are intelligent and omnipresent, answering questions you were about to ask, filling in gaps you didn't you know you needed with the slight of hand of a magician. If you stand up for a moment, you'll turn back to your disguarded napkin refolded on top of clean dishware for your next course. Where as a lot of fine dining places treat each plate as an individual journey, Gotham offers a very collective dining experience. Everything is meant to be shared, bringing a homey vibe that lightens the conversation and makes it the perfect place to reconnect with old friends and family. The food is great. The steaks are created with precision, the gorgonzola macaroni will make you cry. The drink list is fantastic with the cocktails being particularly inspired. The only drawback I've experienced in my three visits was the Beef Carpaccio. I ordered it last night, excited to have my favourite food in such a setting, and received a plate of bland meat with a brittle piece of.. Bread? Cracker?.. on top. It was difficult to eat with absolutely no pay off. I found myself clinging to those capers with my life for any semblance of flavour.

I love the lounge! The appetizers are amazing and they make a killer sidecar. The waitress told me that the cups were chilled, which is the only reason I ordered a beer. Went on a not-so-busy Monday night. Had oysters on the half shell for an appetizer (they were alright) and the 12oz rib steak. My date had the 24oz porterhouse. Not sure about the constant glowing reviews but my steak was very blandly seasoned, a touch overdone, and just not as good as I expected. I can honestly say I've had more flavorful and juicy steaks at the Keg- which is not one of my favorite places. On the other hand the ambience is excellent, very beautiful and romantic. The service was wonderful. The wine my server recommended was great. Passed on dessert.

Visited Gotham for dinner tonight and really enjoyed the experience. We had Ken serving us, and he was awesome. Great service. Very thoughtful staff who proactively checked if we were going to the Canucks game and tried to help ensure we finished up in time to make the game. The food was exceptional. The tomahawk steak is pricey but well worth it. The mashed potatoes are perfect. The calamari is freshly made and has great flavour as well. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a good steak house in Vancouver.

Good steak but a little overpriced in my opinion as it isnt too much better than many other restaurants. The decor is pretty basic and lighting is dark. The darkness might help to feel distanced from other guests and some people might like that. I prefer black and blue but that's just me. Expect to drop $250-400 for two meals and some wine. Serving staff was fairly good.

I definitely recommend the Aviation Cocktail or a Last Word. The bartenders — and servers — know their stuff! We had the seafood tower as our dinner, and it was exactly what we wanted. It was a bit of a splurge dinner, and it was worth it. We were particularly fond of the crab legs.

But where your inside you stil have 2 options. Say sorry its a lillte over our budget and go ore stay. We decided to stay. The waiter told us that after a long flight and time difference that they want us to feel like welcom. That changed after we made our order, WHY?? We dont know, mayby because we ditn't order the most expensve food. The taste was great, even if we were very tired. But at the and when we want to pay, the waiter took his caculator at the table were we sat, and we think that he was caculating his tip in our presence. That was humiliating and we didn't feel like welcom at all any more !!! Yes we should have checked it out before, But when you deciding to stay and then order a little less expensive food should not lead to a less welcome feeling. But that did happen. Too bad because we think the food is of high quality.

Had a great meal. Note the comments re pricey, but would say that it was as I would expect. $15 cocktails and a very limited selection of wines under $70. The service was excellent although the kitchen was backed up at 600pm. If I had of been in an rush the timing would have frustrated me. I wasn’t in a rush and enjoyed the nice atmosphere. You will get a great and expensive steak. A special occasion place for sure. A regular night out and you probably get better value from the Keg which I also like.

This place seems like it's going down hill. A couple years ago it was awesome going in to listen to the piano player and have some cocktails and appies and there was always a good vibe and now it's' always dead... Last few times I've taken friends in there the food has also been slacking. We always get the seafood tower which is minimal and I got a steak and had to send it back.. really for a steak place.... not happy... they din't even offer me a free cocktail or something while I waited. It's really to bad the atmosphere has changed, i really liked it in there.

Once sat, the bartenders were very friendly and got us drinks right away. We didn’t really know what to get so Carolyn came to help us. She suggested that since we were all super hungry, we should get the bone in rib eye and porterhouse, cut to share, plus a few of sides. We’re so glad we trusted her! The food was incredible and Carolyn made us the best cocktails! The team we were rooting for won, which capped off the perfect night. Thank you Gotham, we’ll be back!

Always great service when I come here. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Very knowledgeable in descriptions of all items on menu from food to wine. My favorite is the Tomahawk steak which is recommended cooked medium rare, come whole and is carved tableside. The cream corn and mushrooms are delicious and most of the desserts are good as well. Expensive, but it's worth it for the service and feel of an old school steakhouse experience.

My favourite place to have an amazing steak! If you are willing to pay high $$ for your steak, this place is a must-go. The service is FANTASTIC, the waiters are very well mannered and knowledgable about their wine selection AND steaks. The sides are generous in portion (you can share it between 3-4 people! We typically order mashed potatoes & asparagus white are delicious ) and the steaks, what can I say? FANTASTIC.

I've been to Gotham a couple of times and loved it! The cheese toast is a must-try. If you're going with a larger group it makes sense to get multiple steaks on a shared platter. The steaks were cooked to perfection. The wine selection is really good too. The service is what sets this place apart, my experience was top notch.

Master has turned this place into a morbid place. If, by any chance, you haven't read the works of Frantz Kafka, this place is a valuable source of inspiration for those curious who want to understand the evil effects of schizophrenia.

Had a reservation for today celebrating our 17th year anniversary, we had book for patio but did not realize they have a 3-6 pm social hours and they were really busy our reservation is for 5pm and we came half hour early. We spoke to Charlotte and ask if we can seat inside instead so she ask someone and told her that dine in is not open yet until 5 and it’s only 4:35 and wanted us to seat by the bar, we did not want to seat by the bar since we kind of wanted to social distance with people and I know mask is not mandatory anymore other restaurant workers still wear mask but Gotham workers doesn’t and I completely understand hopefully they can find a way for people like me who wants to eat but also wanted to be still safe it’s why I book an early dinner but did not realize for my own opinion how unsafe I feel eating here. Also no one is inside The diner and we would still order drinks and wait till 5 I don’t get why they would say no and not let us seat inside the diner.

It's a really cool place. It's beautiful and the food tastes delicious. But for the price I paid for a 10oz steak, my friends and my steaks were over cooked. We didn't complain since we were in a large group and we visited Gotham during lunch time on a work day. I guess we expected too much.

Absolutely phenomenal level of ambience, service and spectacular quality of food. The steak we had was the best steak I have ever tried. It is very expensive (our bill was almost $600 for one meal but we did indulge a bit) but it is well worth the money if you have the means. My only criticism is that the music is a bit too loud. Easily the best steak I've ever had! My lady's birthday today and we went to three Gotham for dinner. Got the seafood tower and rib steak 20oz, and we were full! The only reason complaint that I had was the wait, took a while for the food to come. That's OK, the food is more than enough to make to make up for it.

One of our best restaurant experiences in Vancouver! The two steaks we ordered were perfectly done to a medium rare, and the garlic mashed potatoes were to die for! A very beautiful classy amazing menu a little bit more on the expensive side but if you want to see one of the finest steak houses and probably Canada then you need to go to Gotham Steakhouse I literally felt like I was Bruce Wayne, which is very befitting for the name of this wonderful Steakhouse I myself had the filet mignon and my mouth was absolutely watering. Great location that's located downtown I would totally recommend going there with a date or group of friends is very very very very beautiful

Love this steak house! The service and the food are excellent. The atmosphere goes well with the name also! ????. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, offer suggestions, answer any questions or doubts one may have, in a courteous way. The food is really good, from appetizers to mains and desserts! Generous portions as well. Cocktails are also interesting and good! Prices are on the high end but it is worth it.

My girlfriend and I came to Gotham for our anniversary. We got greeted at the door by some big smiles and welcome to’s where you can check your coats etc. We were early for our reservation which I would suggest having so we sat in the lounge and listened to an amazing pianist tickle the ivory of a nice piano. After our table was ready we were escorted over to the dining area and sat at a large table. The menu has lots of variety for a steakhouse and our waiter Chad really knew his stuff. He was very helpful and helped us make some tough decisions about the appetizers and mains. The food was absolutely amazing and knowing it was our anniversary Chad had our dessert platter with Happy Anniversary is chocolate drizzle written on the plate. We will definitely be returning and they made a customer for life. Thank you so much to Gotham steakhouse for making our night special

Steak was not flavorful or juicy, even when ordering a medium rare one. Onion rings were thin and greasy. Definitely not worth the high prices. The quality is just not there. Bar staff were helpful and knowledgeable.

Coasting on its name and success a few decades ago, Gotham is the Madonna of Vancouver Steakhouses. The wear and tear is showing on this former glory. Other than the bill, nothing stood out as extraordinary and service was lackluster at best.

Great place to go for my husband’s birthday ????. The steak ???? wasn’t very good, compared to Gordon Ramsey’s Las Vegas restaurant, it doesn’t even come close.. but nice ambiance. Overall, too pricey for what it is… we might come back for the lounge and happy hour, not the steak ????!
