REVIEWS OF Go Fish IN Vancouver

Garrett Elias

Unassuming but incredibly delicious spot just on the other side of the Granville bridge.

Louis Desfosses

The staff here talk very loudly about very inappropriate topics. The music they blast at a high volume is unpleasant to hear. The food I ordered was a very small portion for the money I spent. I have doubts about the cleanliness of this place due to such careless employees.

Game ProPlays

fine fried fish(cod) , salad also good

Sunny Chu

Great halibut fish diah, but expect to have a waiting for 30 to 45 min after u orser and if u r lucky u would have a table ro eat on

Marc C.

Want fish and chips ? Want to taste real haddock and salmon and crispy fries? Great parking spot and amazing customer service !

Zehra Coskun

I've been coming to go fish for years. I always took people here when they were visiting out of town as it's a great place to enjoy the view and the food. The price is not bad for the amount of food you get. Today I ordered two orders of the cod fish and chips 2 piece and the oyster po boy. The cod fish and chips were pretty good today. It's sometimes a hit and miss. Today the fish was a bit overcooked but the chips were perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I like the chewiness of the batter. That might sound weird but it's good. It's crispy and chewy. The fish portion is pretty big and definitely filling. It's my first time ordering the oyster po boy at Go Fish. I'm not used to having a none deep fried oysters po boy. They were pretty generous with the oysters. The sandwich doesn't come with fries but it does come with slaw. I actually quite enjoyed the sandwich. Its not as oily because it's not fried and the oysters were nice and plump. The tomatoes and sauce added a nice freshness. I visited on a Saturday at around 1:00 pm and it was very busy. We waited around 25-30 minutes to order and then another 15 minutes for our order so plan ahead if you are hungry. Would definitely recommend the fish and chips. Unfortunately they don't have any dining space open right now but you can find a space to eat on a nearby bench and enjoy the view of downtown to really complete the ultimate fish and chip experience.

Torchie 2010

Awesome fish and chips. Huge portions. Bummer on the wait sometimes, but that just means people want this yummy food. Really nice in the summer or warm weather when you can sit outside and eat enjoying the south False Creek views.

Talid Jalbout

Halibut fish and chips are the offerings at this dock-side, outdoor, stool and wood bench seating. The prices are exorbitantly high for the portion of fish you get with your order. A large order had two small pieces of fried Halibut and too many tasteless fries on the side. Seagulls are swarming, waiting to zero in on your food. The tartar sauce was tasty, but unfortunately the only good thing here.

Kp Dhesi

4 stars just for tuna salad which was better than I expected... I had cream Chipotle soup as well as salmon sandwich which were a bit bland and okay, but not great...

Noel Claremont

Amazing salmon fish and chips. Nice place to eat on a budget

Ricardo Nichols

First time going and Loved it great people working and the food was great. We got a 2pc Cod n Fries big thick pieces of cod great batter and the fries Awwsome. And came with a coleslaw with a vinger dressing omg that was really good. Next time will ask for more tarter sauce I needed more. We ONlY go to Pajo's Fish n chips so this was just as good and will go back

Eugenia Rodriguez

Always love this place. Their oyster po boy is the best!

Andrew Larson

Go Fish serves incredibly-flavourful battered fish and the BEST fries! It's a great casual spot by the water with a lovely view. There is a line, but the staff will inform you of the waiting time so you can choose whether or not to stay. However, I believe it's worth the wait!

Sabinus Brutus

There was a bit of a wait, but once the food came it was delicious!

subhag Wati

Really high quality fish. If you can recognize high quality, fresh fish, you will appreciate this place. It's a bit rough around the edges, and not exactly cheap, but man does the food feel nice to eat.

Shoshanna Francis

The food here is absolutely delicious but unfortunately I've had a couple of bad experiences with the staff either getting our orders wrong or completely not getting a phone order filled but it is certainly a hit with locals and tourists alike but I'm not going to go back there as I have they found their customer service lacking but I haven't heard many other experiences like the one that I've had

KS B

You should expect waiting at here. On Sunday, even I got there before it is open, order took about 20 min. Limited seat but you may find nearby. I had halibut, it was great. Chips are not special but freshly cooked at least it is large enough for portion wise.

Tess Dingman

Halibut is quite fresh and big cut. Dont really like the coleslaw although they make it different from usual

Darren Moss

Staff are legends and the food was great.

Coby Hiccups

Great place on the waterfront with primo fish & chips. We had the cod & chips, the salmon & chips & split a salmon taco. Slaw was very tasty & the prices very affordable. Cool location even if parking is a bit of a challenge. We had received a recommendation from a friend & it exceeded our expectations!

Matija Erceg

Good fish and chips, open area with good view around.

Dominic Walliman

Pros: Delicious cod and chips, they give you so much! I ordered a 2 piece and I had to bring the rest of the fries home. Very hot, tasty food. Right next to the harbour, great people and great atmosphere. Cons: Took 30 minutes for my order to come out, probably because it was a busy day. The seats could use a bit of shelter from the sun, as it gets boiling hot on sunny days. P.S. 1 piece cod and chips is big enough for one person. 2 piece is crazy big.

Jonathan Freeman

Knowing this place closed at 7 pm and that I would be cutting it close, I did everything I could to keep this from being a wasted trip. I looked for a website or a menu online and found none. I tried to place my order ahead of time but no one answered the phone. Still, I grabbed the wife, kid and dog and trekked down to to the wharf and got there as soon as we could. We made it 20 minutes before they closed but we were still turned away. They didn't run out of food. They just didn't want to serve any more people. First off, I'm trying to give you my money but you're making it very difficult. Second, now you're wasting my time because you say you close at 7 when you're closing well before then. If you want to stop cooking food at 7, fine. But adjust your hours accordingly. Don't waste your customers' time. We wanted to eat here but since Go Fish didn't want our business that evening, they aren't going to get it ever.

Todd Shirasago

Poor service the team not really friendly, and they will not take orders over the phone with excuses that they are very busy. The fish and chips tasted really good.

Daisy Yuen

I had never had fish & chips before I tried it at Go Fish in Vancouver. I was amazed, the texture of the fish was perfect and the fries were tasty. The fish is fresh, the atmosphere is relaxed and the view is perfect. I would definitely go there again when in Vancouver again.

Sophie C.

One of the best sea food eats in Vancouver. Awesome staff, great, fresh food and lovely and cozy patio. Have to try it at least once!

L Clarke

I had the Salmon cones and they were amazing. There was a little crispiness to it that was heavenly. There was no seating but lots of spots nearby to eat. Service was 10/10. *Highly recommend.

Allison Tran (MochiBunny)

Wow! This was a fantastic experience. First off it is right on the harbor. The fish is tender and fresh. We both had fish and chips. It was the best fish and chips I have very had. Other patrons tried the sandwich and tacos options which also looked good. It's a small menu which I like. It takes about 20 minutes for the food to be ready as it is fresh made to order. This place is worth the wait in line.

Jessica Chan

Overall a mediocre experience. Do expect long wait times, it could take about 30 mins from lineup to ordering to waiting some more before the food is ready. I ordered 2 cods and by default, they always only give you one tiny container of tartar sauce. If you want more, they'll charge 50 cents for more sauce. That seemed ridiculous and rubbed me the wrong way of how they conduct business. As for the food itself, the fish was not bad, but the fries were over fried. Way too hard and crunchy, and maybe a bit over salted. All in all, I probably wouldn't come here again. The wait times isn't worth it and they don't include enough tartar sauce.

Irwin Liu

Food 4/5, service 5/5, portion size 3/5. Great place to grab some food and eat along the seawall. They have very little seating and it is all outdoors with no covering, so very weather dependent. The food is always delicious, but portions can be small especially the salmon and tuna burgers.

Ben Pointer

Overpriced and touristy. Found the portions small, when compared to other establishments which locals go to. Not worth it.

David Walker

Best fish and chips in Vancouver! Fish was so fresh and yummy!

Cory Ayler

Read that it could be a long wait. That was fine with us and expected because it was Mother's Day especially. Ordered 2 piece salmon and chips, waited an hour. Both my husband and I got 1 piece salmon and 1 piece cod instead. When I came to pick-up the staff was making immature jokes about my husband's name. One staff member apologized for their behaviour. Overall, not a great experience to wait an hour to not even get what we ordered. Won't try them again unfortunately.

Barbara Chidinma Nzegwu

I asked for two pieces of Halibut and large coleslaw - no chips. $24.00 (ok but I heard it was good). I saw what was coming out as a one piece and chips and thought wow that looks good. I waited approximately 20 minutes for my to go order. I received two fairly small pieces of fish and and approximately 1.5 cups of coleslaw. I knew something was wrong so I asked the girl - she gave me $4.50 back and said something about the market price of halibut. Where is the undercover boss TV show when you need it - the owner of this place would not be impressed. Yes, I have been once but .. no I will never go back. Lucky for this business it is supported by tourists and not the locals.

Life Of Why

Hands down best fish and chips in the city. Been going to it for close to 15 years. Get there early or expect to wait in line for close to 1 hour for your order to be ready.

Tamara Hager

My favourite fish and chips in the city! Love it!!

Pedro Márquez

Got the cod fish and chips and the salmon burger. I’ve never had such a juicy and fresh cod fish before, it was amazing and the fries were perfectly seasoned and crispy. I absolutely recommend their fish and chips. The salmon burger on the other hand was alright, a little bit too much bread and not enough sauce. The staff are fun and friendly. This is a great place, especially knowing that they get their fish from local fishers and is farmed sustainably!

Tony Jose

Decent but not worth the price. Small portions for a large cost, very few fries. A very slight improvement in taste, texture over common fish and chips.

Arthur Lin

Always delicious, super fresh and crispy chips and fish! We really appreciate the efficient pre-ordering system and friendly service. The grassy pic nic area nearby just rocks. ☺️

Leigh Thomson

Don't listen to the haters of the world. The portions are fair sized. Those of you complaining about the price, maybe you should go for lunch at the food court if u want a deal. Frankly, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is great! Definitely recommended.

Andrew Laws

Possibly the best fish and chips place in Vancouver. Not only because of fresh and tasty it is but the location is magical right in front of the water.. order by phone before coming because it's always busy!

Geo Vslrs

Fantastic little spot As fresh as fresh can be.

Alfred Hou

Proper Fish n Chips. I am from the UK and therefore well qualified to give this review ;)

Liz C

The fish and chips were delicious. And the view was awesome.

B Chan

The very best halibut - and honestly best fish and chips - I've ever had. Crispy amd creamy and fresh and delightful. Coleslaw and tartar sauce are great. Patio has heaters and is warm and covered during the rain. So rain or shine, go. Go fish.

Colin Loughran

Great fish and chips run by a fun bunch of people but took a longggg time to get the food (over 35min) and it wasn't that busy (no line but people just waiting for their food once they ordered). Fries were good not amazing. The prices are definitely quite steep.

Jose Fernandez de Castro

Great food, beautiful views, large portions, not expensive, creative green chile soup, fun. Closes to early, though. 7:00 pm. Ouch!

Al-Hamza Abdullah

After paying for my order (two fish tacos) I was subsequently told that it would take 1hour to process my order. The cashier said "don't worry guys, that gives you all a chance to enjoy a walk, have a beer etc" ... I said fine. After one hour, they not only got the order wrong - I received one taco not the two that I paid for but, when I politely and quietly went to ask them for the second taco ... they told me that I "got off easy" and that "I reiceived a free taco, that I should be happy with that" ...the rest of the kitchen staff started to yell and laugh "hey, stop that guy, he stole our tacos ha ha ha". I am a polite person, I feel that the staff working Saturday June 24th, 2017 were extremely rude, unprofessional and need to be reprimanded by the owners of the establishment. Truly an unfortunate experience that ruined my weekend. I hope the owners take this note seriously - this is the only time I have ever written a formal complaint as a result of a dining experience.

david C

Very good fish and chips. I had the halibut, and it was beautifully cooked, and the batter wasn't too thick. Chips nice and crispy. I applaud their environmental awareness, the meal was served in a reusable basket to cut down on trash. The location is awesome, right on the water. The wait was quite long, about 45 minutes; that's the only thing that makes it 3 stars and not 4. Definitely going to eat there again.

Marco Hunstad

Take out

Clayton C.

Went there for the 1st time and ordered the 2 piece halibut with fries and coleslaw. It was enough food for 2 people. Fish was fresh and juicy. Fries were nice and crispy, not greasy. Will definitely be coming back for more this summer.

Daniel Gilmour

This is what's great about westcoast living is when those cravings kick in everything is within arms reach. I take my bike park it and simply enjoy my fish and chips with the view!

Darcy Ste. Marie

Unbelievably good! It was a must stop every time we came to Vancouver and literally a notable point when considering moving to Van. Now that we live here we go all the time and easily the second best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Wait times can be long but I do it every time and no regrets. Halibut fish and chips is worth the extra price.

Joseph Fearn

One of the best fish and chips in Vancouver. The food is consistence, always good quality, I personally love their salmon fish taco, the taste is amazing. However my toddler loves the Cod fish and chips ???? Just if you happen to stop before they are closing (one or 2 hours before closing) make sure to ask for fresh chips because sometimes when it is near to their closing hour their chips can be, well, bad,! very bad!

Jon Grant

Cold rainy day on the warf. On this rare occasion, no customers at the counter. It was nice to see the staff still enjoying their day, with good tunes and carefree attitudes. Still serving up fresh fries and great Halibut, Salmon or Cod, along with coleslaw, and a smile. When in Vancouver I always make time to stop here. Price is right and it is as casual as it gets. Can get busy on a good day, but worth the wait. CLOSED ON MONDAYS. Located just around the corner from Gandville Market. Which is another area to explore for gifts, crafts, and fresh produce. More exciting restaurants, take out bars, fresh seafood, vegtables or piping hot coffees. Rows and rows and doors and doors, packed with things to explore.

Sian Madoc-Jones

Really great fish and chips, and while the customer service is usually solid, today, because I didn't feel like walking back to my car to grab 50 cents for extra tartar sauce, the guy putting my order in the bag felt the need to have a full on conversation, while I was still in ear shot about how he "Got a head shake because it's his fault extra condiments cost money. Pretty lame really, unimpressed...

Valerie Berseth

I have always loved a good fish and chips and this place delivers locally caught and sustainable fish. With three choices of cod, salmon and halibut with different configurations, there is something for every fish and chips lover. Oh and they are out of a cool little freight container for a shop.

Kohya PolKan

(IG: KEVIFONG) The best Fish n' Chips stall in Vancouver. Its located along the ocean side of Granville Island. Their ingredients are always fresh. I usually order the Halibut Fish n' Chips, it is fried in a light batter that is served with fries/coleslaw then beautifully plated onto a Bamboo Steamer. I also recommend the Oyster Po-boy Sandwich.

Korean Spy

Truly amazing fish and chips! My boyfriend and I shared an order of 2 pc cod + chips. Fish done perfectly (fluffy and almost creamy texture) with a great batter, and fries are also just an amazing crisp and you can just tell that they use quality potatoes! Amazing service! The cashier was outstandingly friendly! They're doing takeout only (patio closed) because of COVID, but there are plenty of places nearby to chow down I'm definitely going to come back to this place and tell all my friends about it. I heard that there's usually a wait, but we were lucky to beat the line at about 5:45pm on a Wednesday A true 10/10 experience

Teri Rodriguez

Really great fish and chips. I tried the salmon and the halibut, and just because I generally prefer halibut to cooked salmon, preferred the halibut. However, they both came out deliciously hot and crispy, just like I would hope. The chips were also burning hot, and are possibly the best fresh potato fries I've ever had. One thing that really surprised me was the cole slaw. I'm not normally much for cole slaw, but I believe they infused theirs with cumin and other seasonings, and this may be the first time I've actually positively enjoyed cole slaw.

D BR

Decent fish and chips with a very scenic back drop. Wish they had mushy peas which is an essential for a true fish shop! Love the halibut and the portions are decent.

Katie Lo (Kayemlo)

Had to wait over 30min, and when we just simply asked how much longer it would take. One of the staff literally said to F-off. We didn't even eat our food because buddy probably would have spit in our food if he is willing to tell us to F-off.

Dr Robert Armitage

First time here and loved the seafood selections at the place. We ordered halibut fish n chips, tuna tacones & ceviche on a tostada. My fave are the tuna tacones... The mix of Mexican and Japanese flavors are on point, my 2 fave cuisines together. The best seat in the house is the park bench nearby facing the docks ????

Angie Wu

I would say Go fish is 3.5 to 4.It is not the best fish and chips but acceptable. For a fish and chips lovers,it’s a good to know place for craving time. The portion is generous.fries are crispy and fresh.Fish is also fresh.Tartar sauce is good but it can be more tasteful .They have a different kind of coleslaw which looks healthier but is not my favourite. In general It has a good vibe and I recommend to try!

Alan King Bowden

Go on a weekday to avoid the lineup if you can. You're in for a treat. I'm not that much of a fan of battered and deep fried fish but this place is so good, it's the only place I'll go for it.

Cameron_ JT

Probably the best place in the country for fish and chips. Always pleasant staff. I stop here everytime I'm in town.

Zachary Proulx

A nice restaurant with water front view. Most dishes are delicious. Patio is small (patio is closed due to the pandemic), but you can find a bench nearby. My favorite menus other than Fish and Chips are their sandwiches. A down side of this place is super long wait time especially in good weather times.

Shawn Afsharkia

Nothing overly exciting about this place. I went on a Saturday of a long-weekend and that was a terrible mistake. The wait was an hour (literally), but they made sure everyone knew before they got in line. I did the hour-long wait. The staff were nice and friendly. The food was good, not the best I ever had. The taco was very drippy. The fish and chips were good, but nothing outstanding. Wouldn't likely go again.

Mariska R.

Absolutely rude!! If you can't handle the heat in the kitchen, don't work there!

Matthew Nelson

We took the fish & chips, the fish was fresh but the amount of batter around it was excessive. That, plus a bed of greasy fries is a health hazard so I didn't finish my food. Fries weren't good at all. The guy who took our order, an African-Canadian employee with braces, was eccentric and quite rude. He almost jumped over of the counter to strangle me when I asked to change the "to go" to "to stay". He wanted to know if I was with that person (my wife) who stood right next to me (duh, no, I'm trying to change the order of the person standing before me). I felt like I was at immigration line. I won't be coming back there probably. If I do, I will order something grilled or tacos.

S A

Probably the best fish and chips in Vancouver, homemade tartar sauce ,choices of fish, halibut, salmon and cod ,almost irresistible when walking by .Not open Mondays,

Steve Micolino

Awesome very fresh fish and chips. There can be queues. Only outside seating. Simple fresh, just jummy.

trevor pullen

Be aware, it’s disappointing that they have zero space to eat your food. No benches, no chairs, no tables. They won’t even allow you to eat anywhere on the harbour property. With the extension of patios throughout the city at almost every restaurant, this place has gone to other way and closed their patio. This place used to be such a lovely place to eat great fish and chips, now it’s reduced to a shack in a junkyard parking lot.

randy king

Not sure what the hype is about. Pretty bland food.

Phi Nguyen

Good fresh food. Great price too compared to other seafood places. Cole slaw has a twist to it, but very tasty. Definitely recommend this place!

Sidney Talaro

Always excellent food quality in a fun environment. Love their well-done salad as well.

Elly Liu

Great cod fish and chips. They have some seats out front. Good atmosphere right on False Creek. My wife liked red Currey soup was awesome.

Neil Diguangco

I ate here during my last visit early this year. It was good. My opinion of this place now: Look for other locations if you are craving seafood. Not worth the drive or parking hassle.

David R Yates

Service great food watery! Crab tasteless! Spent $260 Tipped waitress $20

Janell Natekar

Great fish and chips and the staff are really nice. You have to get there before 6:30 PM, also you can't eat down there due to Covid restrictions so it's takeaway only.

Angela Kim

Who can say no to perfectly seasoned and fried fish & chips in a location where you can sit and eat in the sun by the dock on a beautiful sunny day? There is a reason why this place always has a line up regardless of the day. They serve spectacular fish and chips; light and crunchy batter and moist, always fresh tasting fish, complete with perfect fries and house-made tartar sauce & coleslaw. This really is one of the defining experiences of Granville Island so if you haven't been already, it's an understatement to say that you are seriously missing out.

Mikee Layaoen

Their tacones are amazing. It's a flour tortillas she'll with coleslaw and either tuna or salmon. (The tuna is raw and the salmon is cooked) rlReally enjoyed the fish and chips . A lot of places don't batter the fish well and it doesn't stick well to the fish go fish doesn't have this issue. Try to go 30 min before closing since they get busy and they have last call to make sure they get everyone's order in time.

Cyrus Greenall

The fries have always been good but I think they changed them recently and they're somehow even better. Make sure you get some chipotle mayo for dipping.

Nathaniel Chan

One of the best place in Vancouver with a amazing view and delicious fish and chips. Totally worth going

Lara Lychak

Susanna Mariotti

Really good fish and chips. Fries were solid and the fish was nice. The batter was crispy and not too greasy. Wasn't a huge fan of the tarter sauce. Tasted like they had an extra herb in it, but not really sure what it was.

andrew pang

Very friendly service. Classic fish and chips. Everything is good quality. Cole slaw and tartar sauce are gourmet quality (plenty of fresh dill in the tartar sauce).

Daniela Terán

Just finished eating their Salmon and chips at home on this wet day. Very nice customer service and the food was delicious and hot. Thank you staff.

Mariam Soliman

Amazing little water front fish and chip stand. Great service and unreal food. Would highly recommend stopping by if you are spending some time at Granville island.

Tiffany Cheng

fine fried fish(cod) , salad also good

Min Cooper

Best fish and chips in the city, but the wait can be very very long. They are usually very good at telling you how long it will be before you order, so just know it really will take that long. On nice days though, it's pretty nice to just sit and wait by the water. This is a food stand and not a full restaurant, but there is some outdoor seating available. There is no bathroom here, but there is a public bathroom that is usually very clean just across the lot. TO FIND GO FISH: Head towards the entrance of Granville Island, but do not cross the bridge. Where you see all the boats to the left, look for the seawall path just before the bridge. Follow the path along for a 2-3 min walk along the water until you see the shack on your left. Its kind of blocked by the curve of the seawall as you walk towards it, but you can't miss it once you get there with the crowd of people and open area seating.

Ruby Apdal

Decent fish. Fries on the saltier side. Few parking spots with view of Vancouver downtown. Washrooms closed to public during COVID-19 pandemic period. 10 minutes walk from Granville Island.

Amy Dymond (Darling Dymond)

First time to Go Fish this summer...as usual great halibut & chips, yummy Oyter Po Boy and Tacones! The tartar sauce is a must; it has hints of garlic & dill, almost like an aioli. Service with smiling eyes & a hidden smile under a medical mask. Go Fish is a local favorite and a must go-to foodie destination. Love!

Ron E Adventures (flexo)

Great dockside fish n chip spot just off the beaten path of Granville island. Food was great! Watching the boats, and the city skyline are great views and the guys in the kitchen are friendly. Don’t expect table service, but that’s what makes this place authentic. Also beware of seagulls!

Paulina Moreno

Fantastic quality of fish for the price. I only wished that they included more tartar sauce in each order.

Robin B

great fish. great sauce. great chips. friendly atmosphere. could use some tables on a rainy day but hey, I'm not complaining. keep it up kids

waqas khalid

Awesome place for fish and chips!!! Crispy outside, moist and soft on the inside! It's tucked in a spot that might be hard to find, but once you've been there you'll definitely want to come back time and time again. The only reason I give this place 3 stars is that every time I've been here, I've had to wait half hour or more for the food. That said, if you don't mind the wait, the great tasting fish is worth it if you're in the area.

Kx

best fish and chips that I ever had this is not just a hype. fish was soft and tasty covered in crunchy batter. ???? Line up starts before they open make sure to be there early. definitely a "must go" when you visit Granville Island.

Tried cod and halibut. My favorite is the cod. Chips were really good too! Great place will be eating here again.

Thomas Reneau

Fantastic fish n chips! Super fun place with fun people, great food and excellent prices. You can’t beat the view!!!

Becca G.

Holy, words cant describe how good this place is. I would strongly recommend the fish tacos and the fish and chips, not only is the fish fresh as it can be but the batter they use it delicious and crunchy, and the fries are just the right crispiness. GO HERE Updated the salmon is really good too I've never had salmon fish and chips but it was amazing, strongly recommended trying it.

Paul Low (zdonkulous)

The food is so good and fresh. I love the taco and oyster sandwich. The only thing is the line up is long in summer. The sitting area is open. Not those fine dining place. But for fresh seafood lover, it is one of the best place with best price!

Sahil Singh

Really large serving sizes, was very impressed with the prices. Unfortunately because of the covid issues they had to block off their seating area but we were able to find a bench and enjoy the view.

Bernard Ng

A pretty nice place for a quick bite near the lake. Pretty quiet comparing to the market. Line is a usually a little bit long during lunch hours.

David Nazworth

Really nice fish and chips! Cod was amazing. Nice amount of batter on fish and not greasy. Chips were nice too. It was a busy Sunday when we went so expect to wait but it was worth it!

Paul E. M

harbor-side dining at its best. just a fish-shack with few seats (often in the rain). but the food... fish'n'chips to make a brit cry, oyster po boys to die for, wonderful soups - it's all delicious. best view in vancouver. a real treasure!

Shirley

I came for the oyster po-boy but it wasn't in season. So I had the seared tuna sandwich instead. Absolutely delicious!

Nicholas Kuan

unique spot to have one of the best fish n chips in the city. the oyster poboy is delish too

Salim H

Excellent Halibut and fries!! I wish that Winnipeg had a good fish and chip place.

Albert Portillo

Definitely the best Fish and Chip around the area of Vancouver. Can't say it's the best i ever had, but definitely the best in Vancouver. Wait time is sometimes a little long and price is pretty decent compare to other places and well wroth the wait. I would recommend this place if you want to try the best Fish and Chip in Vancouver! :)

Laura Fraser

delicious ! Love the special sandwich !! I recommend to go there on weekdays .

The Unconventional Route

Super fresh and delicious. Very hipster location. Takeout only with outdoor sitting space plus a nice view. I had 2 pieces of halibut with chips. The fish was simply amazing, very tasty, and very fresh. Fries were also really good. Order took 20 minutes to prepare.

Christopher Koop

This place is rubbish. The batter was thick and under cooked. The cod didn't taste or look that good, but this is probably because it was pacific cod. The chips were decent but the whole thing took ages to arrive. Just not worth it.

Steve August

Food was okay, music was too loud, for take out fast food, please stop asking for tips.

Brant Forrester

Fish and chips perfectly fried. Had the halibut. Portions are pretty large. We had one order for two people. Have been in here every time we're in town. Service is average, wish they actual pretend to care to want to talk to you when you're there.

Evan Kita

Fantastic fish and chips. This place is a hidden gem near Granville island. Really small and often busy ‘shack’. Usually a line up but worth the wait. Located on the waters edge it serves some incredibly delicious seafood and chips. Worth a trip to get some. I highly recommend stopping by.

Best place for fish and chips! Always fresh. Try going there on a sunny day, they have a patio where you can sit, enjoy your fish and chips and watch the beautiful water views. Can be a wait sometimes but totally worth it!

Peter Hess

The halibut was really fresh. The tartar sauce is not a conventional dill flavour, but is very thick and creamy. I think it’s tarragon instead- really good. The coleslaw is also unconventional, it’s Asian inspired. Personally I like it a bit more zingy but it was a really solid fish and chip platter.

VJ Capablanca

Great place for fish & chips. (The fish was fresh and chips was amazing!)

Hooman B

Very delicious fish n chips and unique oyster burget

Swanky Trout

delicious and fresh local seafoods but be aware there is usually 40 minuets wait

Nargess Hakim

A little great and tasteless when I was there at 6pm on a Saturday. Fun place and delightful service. Best down to earth views! A few years ago, I used to go here at least once a week and relished the experience. Check it out during the week. Can be super busy.

Josh Guidi

My last visit to this place was great, unfortunately this time the serving of Halibut was much smaller and the Salmon burger was all bun with a small piece of fish... Very disappointing

Thomas Girling

A Granville Island icon, though it's technically just off the island, under the bridge, off to the west of it. The tacones and fish and chips are to die for.

John M

Lovely fresh stuff, fast service and an awesome view.

Frances Billones

Excellent place for fish and chips :p 10/10 recommend!

Oren Shapiro

Great food. Can take a while to get it though. Last time I was there we were told we had to wait at least an hour while they completed a catering order. That was at 12:00. You would think they would have lunch better organized than to turn away customers.

Edwin Chiu

Best fish & chips in Vancouver. Great location & friendly staff.

HOMA SAADAT

Fish was not so fresh and okayish. Also slightly expensive for to go with no dine in as one piece is 9€ or 11-12$ . There are other places around which serve better

Andrew Walsh

Let me preface this review by saying I’ve eaten a lot of fish and chips. My family is from PEI, and we take seafood seriously. Additionally, I’ve been to London, and I’ve tried most of the popular fish and chip joints across the pond. Now with that being said, Go Fish is still the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Miraculously, there was no lineup when I went, and the whole process of ordering was smooth and efficient. The halibut was fresh, flavourful, and flaky! The fries were nice too, but the fish itself is what really pushed the meal over the edge. Only disappointing thing personally for me was the coleslaw, which didn’t have much flavour. But who the hell cares about coleslaw when you have the tastiest fish and chips around! Definitely check it out!

zip none

One of the best fish and chips we've had so far!

LJC

Best fish and chip in Vancouver. This is a hidden gem!

Negin Baghdadchi

Fish and chips in the marina = great time. Tasty food. Can't complain. This place seems to be always lined up

Philip Lam

The only complain is the absence of some kind of order in the patio area. If you are in the line waiting to order is almost certain that somebody behind you with company are trying to get a table to sit with no food and when you finally get your food there was not one single available spot to enjoy your meal. But the food is so delicious and the service so friendly that we always comeback.

Eric Michalski

Great fish and chips. Love the coleslaw. Great location. But of wait when busy but worth it.

Natália Dračková

Food is good and the view at harbour is great. The prices are bit high compared to the portion served. Super friendly team working there.

Shelley Chen

Absolutely Love Go Fish. Must tries: Tacones (Salmon or seasonal fish), fish and chips and, the Coleslaw Stop by grab a bite and enjoy the viee

Jessie A

Amazing fish tacos and fish and chips! Very popular during sunny summer days. Worth the wait.

Kim Anacleto

Excellent fish and fries every time I went. Used to have long line and long waiting time -40 minutes, several time I was there before the pandamic. Now less people and they encourage order by phone in advance to minimize crowd in the store front. Take out only. No seating on the premises but easy to find places to sit down nearby. Beautiful view around especially at sunset.

David Papoular

Hands down the best fish and chips place. Eat here and then go down to the boats at fisherman's wharf and take some fresh seafood home.

SG1 Andy

The public market is one of my favourite places for an idle Sat afternoon, like today. And Go Fish is my go to spot for fish & chips! A bit salty, yes. But the quality itself hardly can be beaten imho! ;D

Troy Y

The fish is definitely fresh and delicious. Service was super friendly. However, the fries were a tad salty.

Emerson Killam

Definitely lost my appetite after coming here. The staff inside are more interested in cracking jokes with each other and dancing to their pot-head music than serving customers. Patrons have to pay for meals up front, only to be told after the fact that they are out of fish?!! While waiting 30 minutes for anyone inside to scoop up a couple bowls of soup, we watched as the guy putting the meals together dropped a mixing bowl on the floor and then just stuffed it back up on the shelf like nothing ever happened. I don't even want to think about what other "secret ingredients" make it into the food here. We left right after that so I can't tell you how the food tastes.

Caroline Lee

Delicious food. Very popular on sunny day, a short walk on the Seawall from Granville Island

Dita S

Loved fish and chips, not allowed to eat nearby due to Covid restrictions

Alex W

Very nice fish and chips but unfortunately they run out of salmon in the afternoon that day.

Parmis Ghodsi

I' m a long time customer and always really enjoyed the experience of coming here on a sunny day and having this succulent food on the waterfront. We put up with the line ups as part of the experience and the staff is always great. Lately the food quality is lacking and I' m not the only one saying it. We were hoping it was a temporary glitch but seems to be the new normal after several dissatisfied visits. I hope the Broadway restaurant and it' s outcome is not tarnishing this little jewel because it is held in high esteem by the people who frequent it. BRING WANDA BACK!!!

Tom Andrews

I ordered halibut and chips but was given cod by mistake (discovered after I left the premises and started to eat). Tasty cod though.

Adrian Bill

Awesome food and great prices

Robin Ware

Fish was very crispy and fresh!! Enjoyed my Halibut fish&chips!! :)

Caroline Chu

I went for my drving test, failed 2times.Cathy is the worst Examer.infact she shouldn't be hired by ICBC.She was making me nervous alot. When I was making my turns she is ohh watch out for traffics when I already checked 2twiced the road was empty(that's y we are asked to do shoulder check remember) She asked me to pull over here, than she tells me u cant park here coz it says no parking while the sign sd park for 15mints 9am to 5pm.When I told her she started lecturing me. She asked me to make a right turn,on a red light I stopped before the stop sign thn I moved forward little bit to see the traffic, when I saw the traffic clear I made my turn doing a shoulder check and all. She tells me ohh you dont have to stop at the stop sign, just make ur turn. Seriously. I showed my instructor exactly what I did on the test and he sd i was right. We are not stupid to waste so much money on our drving lesson and thn get told all this nonsense. Just because we are new immigrants doesn't mean treat us bad.

Jp Santos

Got there 15 minutes before closing and was told they are closed. They were friendly but still, we walked a fair amount to get there. Plus, it would be good to open up the patio for eating. It’s outside and social distancing can happen. Too bad, we were really looking forward to their tasty fish n chips.

June Gomez-Willis

Absolutely rude!! If you can't handle the heat in the kitchen, don't work there!

Kelli Chan

Absolutely superb food and customer service. Always have a great experience every time. Thank you all.

Acco D'Avies

Waited in line for 10 minutes to pay, no big deal. When I get to the counter I'm informed the wait for food would be 45 minutes. A sign would have been helpful at the start of the line that it would take so long. I go ahead and order anyways, it's a beautiful day out and I'll just walk and go get an ice coffee. The wait ended up being just under an hour. When I went to collect my order the woman behind the counter tried to talk me out of the extra tartar sauce that I had ordered, offering me coleslaw. I said no I would rather have the tartar sauce I ordered and she seemed super annoyed by it. I get that these kids bus in from Commercial drive every morning and have to deal with tourists all day but man oh man do they all seem jolly with one another but the second any customer had a request they'd become so rude. I witnessed a guy mention that his order was supposed to be to go and the girl behind the counter blasted him for not being more clear when he made his order 50 minutes ago. All this would have been forgiven if the two piece cod fish and chips I ordered was good. It wasn't. It was wrapped in the prostitute section of those free newspapers, the ad for petite young girls rested gently on the tip of my fried fish. Again, forgivable but underneath I'd discover the dough not fully cooked.

Almedin Jusic

Best fish and chips in the lower mainland. I say that with confidence coz I've had fish and chips in Steveston and Richmond, in New West and on Main St. I say that because I've had fish and chips right across the UK. I've had fish and chips in Halifax Nova Scotia. This is the real thing. Big chunky pieces of succulent halibut. Big enough for the biggest appetite. Fantastic french fries. This is the spot. You should probably head over there right now.

Katherine Lauriente

We bought $147 fish and chips for lunch today around 230pm. The guy refused to give me receipts. Moreover, he forgot to gave us all the items that we ordered. Kids did not get the food that they order and there is no way to track the order. Moreover, the guy was very rude to kids. Very frustrating experience.

Ahmed Kazim Fakih

Probably the best fish and chips I have had so far. One of the local favorites around the area. They have an amazing fried Oyster sandwich but sold out when we went. We usually order the halibut fish with extra tartar sauce. The line up and wait time is usually 30 to 45 mins but if you go between lunch and dinner hour might be less. This is a must try if you visit grandville Island. Will definitely go back, they never disappoint.

Peter Toth

Messed up my order and instead of two pieces of salmon i got two halibut ones... i discovered it when i was in Jericho beach and it was too late to go back so check when you get your order especially if you hate halibut like me and paid more to get the salmon!!!

Leo Heinrich

This is what's great about westcoast living is when those cravings kick in everything is within arms reach. I take my bike park it and simply enjoy my fish and chips with the view!

황준영

Just wow! Great fish and chips... and Tacones were amazing... you need to go

AL

I love everything. Po' boy is my favorite. Outdoor dining. Be nice to staff or you will not enjoy this experience. It is simple and rustic, not fine dining. Know the difference and respect it. ❤️

Andrew

Best fish & chips I've ever had in my life! I live in Pemberton, BC & would be willing to drive the 2-3 hours to eat their food. AWESOME service. Fresh seafood is where its at! Oh and I almost forgot to mention that its right on the water near all the docks, what a wonderful place to eat :)

JN Filippi

Tried to eat here multiple times and it's always super disorganized and I end-up walking away... either the line-up is going so slow it's painful, or their payment system is failing and can only take cash (who uses cash anymore?) Maybe it's good, I'll never know, done trying.

Ben Sy

Always friendly, with fresh food prepared excellently!I love the oysters

Jordan Annan

Unassuming hut and location but delicious food and massive portions. A dreamy day to grab this, head to the seating at Granville Island and watch the sights.

Maryam R

I had the grilled salmon with salad and a tuna taco. The salad was really overdressed and then the salmon had it's own sauce poured over it as well, made for a very saucy and almost indelible meal. The taco was just a flour tortilla with the coleslaw that came with the fish and chips, and small peice if tuna. I had to pour out the liquid from the slaw, unappetizing as well. My friend had the fish and chips and she gave it a 3/5 no flavor, just greasy. With the large line ups at this popular spot, we left unsatisfied and confused.

Mack Benz

Favourite spot in Vancouver for fish and chips! 10/10

Fabriano Y

As fish and chips go in Canada. This is the nearest you will get to the real deal. Fries actually taste like potatoes! Every canadian who's ever had fish and chips in England loves the thick cut chips and the crispy battered cod. Cant believe the concept hasnt been brought here genuinely.

Sean Choi

The freshest fish in town. Just wonderful. Always a line up! Scarce seating! Almost no parking, Greasy fries and yet it's all totally worth it because that fish is so fresh and delicious it's to die for. Go for the salad with the grilled fish on top or the tacos or sandwiches and then you can really appreciate the freshness of that delightful fish. Oh so good you'll fall in love

Jeff Clemens

Some of the best fish n chips I've had. And the people there are friendly

Yuki

Granville Island market's food court have better fish and chips. Self serve with a great menu. Staff are so POLITE. It is so CLEAN. It has indoor and outdoor seating. A premium experience.

Isa Carvalho

Would have to say they have the best fish and chips in town here

Louisa Sleightholme

The Cod Fish and Chips were great!

Ashley C

I only go here for its proximity to Granville Island and the freshness of the fish. The guys working here are having lots of fun and are loud, helpful, forgetful, and inappropriate all at the same time. I'd be curious to know how clean the kitchen is. The seating area is small and clunky. We had some fish wraps (conular versions). Way too much tortilla. It's hard to mess up fresh fish. It's a shack next to the docks. What else should you expect?

chris leow

The view here is that of a busy false creek wharf for fishing, and then this stall offers just what you want: fresh crisp sea food. The only downside is that there is a lot of waiting and place could do with a bit of cleaning.

Marcio Bukowski

Love this little gem of a place! Of course you go for the fish! Excellent. But I also go for the fries. Haven't been in a long time so I was a bit disappointed when I noticed the fries had changed. They used to be tossed in some coating of spices and other stuff but now they are just fries. :-( Definitely still worth going though!

Amy Le

Always a great place on a sunny day. I would have given them 4 stars had they not screwed up my name on the bag and my food sat until they figured it out. Too bad. Normally, they are great but this must have been their off day as I tried to pick up the food when they first called it but they refused to give it to me. Names were close but not close enough for them. Instead, our food sat for another 10 minutes. Our food was cold by the time we got it.

Mariana Oliveira

Amazing! you should try! highly recommended ***takeout only (for now), limited parking spot! but still get the 5 stars from me

Asha “Other”

As an Englishman i have fairly high standards of what fish and chips should be like. It's safe to say Go Fish blew my expectations out of the water.

Joseph Chavez

Go there for delicious Fish and Chips. Beware: the servings are Huge, even for healthy appetites!

Omar Al-Allaf

Totally worth the 45-minute wait: and the small upside was they told us it would be about 45/60mins wait when we ordered. Cod and Halibut were perfectly cooked, flakey and moist. Batter was seasoned, thick enough to hold vinegar but somehow not stodgy or greasy. To top it off, chips literally could not have been crispier. Only thing I would change: ask for more ketchup next time for chip dipping! Definitely will be back for my next serve of fish and chips.

Kit Yee Yu

I’m soooo picky about fish. But this place is wonderful!!! All I can say is free a time to stop by and grab some fish and chips. No dine-in due to COVID. So, be prepared for a place to enjoy your lunch.

Curtis Andrews

perfect little fish shack at fisherman's wharf. stumbled upon it as i was trying to cycle over to granville island public market. got the fish (salmon) & chips with a can of soda. it was better than the fish & chips i had in england!! the fries were crisp and the salmon was tasty. go here and enjoy!!

Gemma Cagney

Meal type

Jared Tucker

Tiny little fish and chips shop right on the docks. Outside seating only with a great little park nearby. Tasted like they were straight out of England!

Jason

Really good fish and chips. Mixed experience with the service- one guy doing the cash was lovely, another worker not so nice. Definitely worth a visit if near Granville Island.

Daniel Choi

Very delicious food. Coming from California, and had the best meal ever. Definitely worth the wait

imran hakamali

best fish and chips that I ever had this is not just a hype. fish was soft and tasty covered in crunchy batter. ???? …

Cecilia Teixeira

Great fish and fries, although didn't seem to be composting their waste well even though they make the extra effort to provide compostable cutlery. Delicious and a bit expensive, but totally worth it.

The Teaching Power

Tasty fish, lovely chips & friendly service. Lots of interesting things on the menu but I want fish & chips.

Christopher John Fernandez

amazing, good value for money! it feels like eating very good fish with churros ????

Nirshid PP

Great food and all but cashier puts you on the spot if you are using tap "would you like to include a tip" ..... Yeah no thanks. But the food is amazing!

Ross Judge

There's nothing particularly special about the food. Prices are reasonable, the fries are crispy, the fish is fresh, the coleslaw tastes funky. It's good, not great. What's special is the setting. Even if it takes an hour to order and get your food in the summer it doesn't matter because of the captivating maritime sounds, smells, action, and views. It's a real only-in-Vancouver experience. (For 6 more only-in-Vancouver experiences, google "unconventional route only in vancouver dining" to see our post.)

Tom McHugh

Best fish and chips in Vancouver for sure great spot to grab bit to eat

Rob Venema

Great fish, great view, great vibe. Also the food comes in large portion. A two-piece fish and chips will be enough for two.

Shaunella S

Best fish and chips I’ve ever had! Perfectly battered and good quality fish. The long line up proves to you how much people love this place; it’s so worth the wait!

Maryam Refan

I eat here 5 times a year. I happened to go when there was no line and few people sitting at the table area! My friend and I were so excited to finally not wait very long for food! This place has always been great, worth the wait and always hit the spot. Employees are always awesome. We ordered something small and quick to hold us over as we were getting a little hungry on our way to pick up veggies from Granville Island Market. I paid $6 for one "fish taco thing" and what a waste of time and money!! We each ordered one. We waited 45 minutes for them (ok fine, maybe everyone came in at the same time???), and we did finally get it, there was MAYBE 1 teaspoon of fish on each??? We weren't sure what kind of fish we had. I ordered salmon and my friend ordered cod (I think). We could not tell the difference. Don't waste your money on that so called taco. It's all coleslaw on half a wrap. Two bites (or one for the average person) and it's gone. We were quite disappointed and quite unimpressed and VERY hungry at that point. I'll never go back after that. Helpful tip: Order the actual piece of fish. That is always good and a good value :)

Miles Thorogood

The food is lovely, the daily food as well

Jen Thomas

The food was realy great. We waited over an hour for our food. The only majorly disappointing part was the young girl calling orders was serving up way to much sarcasm. She would greatly benefit from some customer service 101.

Vivi Wilds

It's great food with some flaws. It's a little difficult to bus to, moreso than you'd like. Amazingly scenic city and harbor backdrop along with outdoor seating. Prices are great for what you get, and the fish is real good stuff too. However waits are commonly in 30+ minutes, and mine was told when I paid to be 30 minutes: it was 50. Additionally there's not enough seating for the large amounts of people to wait. I would recommend but.... The wait is a problem.

Michelle Allan

This is one of the best places to get fish and chips.. take the opportunity and go you will not regret going.. Being a maritimer I love my fish & Chips and this was perfect and price point was great..

shane mcdonald

If you're willing to put up with long lines and surly attitudes, there's some aight fish to be had here. I recommend ordering something that's not too challenging for them to make, like the fish and chips or the tacos. No matter how charming it may seem to get served out of a shipping container, tourists should resist the urge to take photographs without asking permission first--you're likely to get yelled at by one of Go Fish's charming employees.

J W

Very tasty with a great view of Downtown. First time ever in Canada so it made the experience even better!

Happy KK

Delicious food. Them asking you how much you want to tip while holding the debit machine is definitely awkward though

Arielle S

One of my favorite fish and chip place, I’m fully recommend daily soup menu.

Matt G

Wicked spot to get fish n chips. Also has an amazing fish taco. Great selection of menu items. Cute little patio. Always super busy. Staff is really friendly and playful. Don't be one of those people who makes a stink about getting their soup first.... They will make fun of you. Haha I always make sure to go here when I visit Vancouver.

Michal Stankiewicz

I was never a huge fish eater.. Then a friend took me to this place. This food is indescribably incredibly good. I long for the day I return to this place.

Michael Lesziak

Great food great location, be ready for a very long wait

Taylor Morton - Wander the World

Such a great place. I have loved my meal every time that I have been here. Would just recommend to come with time on your side as there are always line ups. Enjoy!

Burton Richardson

I thought it was a good place to have fish and chips on be pier. Staff friendly and prices were great with wonderful food but wasn't a fan of the coleslaw.

Micah Shiff

Lot of food and reasonable price.

Jack Wong

very good finish, need to wait for 30-60 mins

Sandra Spencer

My favourite place in the city for fish and chips - they have halibut, cod and salmon. The fish is fantastic and right off the water. The employees are funky but kind - love the hip hop beats too. Definitely check it out, even if you're not into hip hop beats.

Adam Hutt

This is not anymore the place it used to be before! Small portions of fish in the tacones, served fries which were hard to chew (it is like they were from a day before since we got only some of them fresh, crunchy). We will never come here again. There are a lot of places out there to be discovered and for sure much better.

Rob

Best fish and chips I've ever had, nice staff and the view is really good. Too bad it doesn't have indoor seating for colder days.

batuhan yesilbursa

The food was actually decent but wait times were too long. Due to volume, they cram quite a few staff in confined quarters and while most are reasonably friendly there was one gal that was exceptionally rude. I was eating my fish and chips right by the pickup window and due to the long wait many customers asked for an update to which this gal simply barked, "if you haven't heard me call your name it's not ready". This continued on for several customers and it seemed she was having a bad day. Then the thing that shocked me most was a kid, about 8 years old, asked her for a takeout container. She yelled, "I'm busy right now, go sit down!" Poor kid. Really, was that necessary? Brutal customer service.

Chris Sasiadek

A local favourite for fish and chips. I always think of this place when I'm craving fish and chips. It's just a pain to get here by car, much easier if you bike. The fish and fries they serve is piping hot. The ratio of batter to fish is perfect. We biked go a park close by to enjoy our crispy fish and chips.

Robert L Duncan

I love coming here if I'm in the area and need something casual. The staff tend to be those just working for the season with little customer service skills or filter when, but the food is good! It's great to come here during the summer in the sun

Kev Fong (Kevy)

This place is a container. Converted into sort of like a food truck, but no truck... Beware there is no indoor seating. The place is open 12 months of the year. And it’s interesting to go eat there in the winter and eat outside in the chilli brisk cool ocean air. You cannot beat the view with a backdrop of the city Granville Island and all the fishing boats. The food is fresh and at times in limited quantities. This place serves exactly what you would expect battered cod or salmon or any of the other seafood they sell to be. The service can be a little annoying only because there’s so many tourists in front of you who don’t know how to read a menu. Or ask to many questions And delay the line. Outdoor seating is probably for 50. But you can easily sit on the seawall and enjoy your snack. Beware of the birds they might steal your meal when you’re not looking. My photos of the fish tacos. They were pretty good. Not enough for an entire meal. But a great snack while walking along the seawall.

Cherine Amr

Good food, the tacos are amazing but staff was grumpy and disheveled, more concerned with what rock music they would play than helping customers. Constantly making fun of customers that asked how long the wait would be. I'm a local have come here 4-5 times experience is always the same.

fernando ramirez

After hearing from several sources that this was the best place in Vancouver to get fish-n-chips I had to make it a stop on our trip. It’s a small shack right downtown on the water, which couldn’t be a better setting. The shack is well-maintained and the staff did their job. They didn’t go out of their way to be personable, but it’s obvious they are busy and trying to work quickly. We were one of the first people there and it was still a 20 minute line to order. Our food took about a half an hour to be called after we ordered. We managed to get a seat, but there is not a lot of seating around. There is a fairly large parking lot that was barely used, so it could be a good idea for them to expand the seating area into there and have umbrellas in case it rains. If you are set up like a fast food restaurant, it needs to take you less time to make the food. It’s a small menu, mainly consisting of fries, fried fish, and chowder, so they need to either hire more or find a way to have the food prepared quicker. It’s all about the prep work. We both ordered the halibut fish-n-chips, which were delicious. Probably my second favorite fish-n-chips I have ever had. (My favorite is in OH, which doesn’t make sense at all, right?!) The fish was extremely fresh and the batter was light and melted in my mouth. I also got their soup, which was a seafood chowder with an Asian flare. It was also good. Overall, I would definitely go back. The food was really good, the view was stunning, and it wasn’t overly priced. However, they have a couple things to work on to really give them the extra boost.

heba al-shawafi

I found some of the workers being extremely rude towards clients. I guess they are so busy they dont care if you come back or not. For Fish and Chips you can get anywhere else, i rather go somewhere else.

PSbros. PSbros

Excellent fish and chips, best in the city. Great professional staff. Wait times can be long as it is such a popular spot, it is worth the wait.

Justin Maxwell

Very poor customer service and rude staff. I was trying to give my plate back, as you are supposed to do. I was unsure so I tried to give to someone behind the counter. This person yelled at me and said "cant you see i am cooking, give it to him". I didn't know this and he could have politely asked me. I said you dont have to be so rude. Again he yelled at me and accused me of shoving it into his face. I did not do this. I politely asked do I give it to you. I asked if there was a manager and another staff pointed to this rude staff and said it was him. He was not, but they did not care whatsoever that this staff treated customers so poorly. I made sure that I made it clear that he was rude. I was not the only customer that they were rude to. It seemed to be there theme. Arrogance and disgusting customer service. I live in Vancouver and will never recommend this place. In fact I will continue to tell people of my experience. They think because they have decent fish and chips that they can treat people like this. Thus their arrogance. See others who have had similar and worse experiences. There is great fish and chip places all around Granville Island, where you can go with great customer service. Not on Granville Island, but very close on main street is the Fish Counter. Go there and enjoy better fish ans chips, a great atmosphere and staff who care and value their customers.

Desmond Saisitthidej

One of my favorite places to go for fish and chips and their amazing soup!!!

ERIC LEE

Great fish & chips for the first time, beautiful area sit down by the seawall and watch the boats

Matthew McFarlane

Don’t advertise your hours as being open until 7 but stop taking orders at 6. That effectively means you’re closed at 6. It’s confusing and anti-customer. I shouldn’t have to bike all the way there to learn how your business works

Elham Shahbandy

Get the Tacones. Just get them. It’s a taco in a cone what more could you want? The yellow curry soup was also amazing, but the tacone.. the Tacone!!! So good. Shoutout to their garlic tartar sauce too. Will be coming back.

B Naylor

Go Fish has got the BEST fish and chips in Vancouver! It has outdoor seating only and is located right at the docks at the entrance of Granville Island. Its a bit off the main Granville island circuit ..but worth the trek.

Nyan Lin Soe

The best fish and ships everrrrrrrrerrrr The Halibut is out of this world

Juan Laverde

Very good fish. You get to see them cook the food right in front of you. Small place but that didn't matter.

Andrea

Service great food watery! Crab tasteless! Spent $260 Tipped waitress $20

Ed

Awesome service and amazing food. Got the fish(halibut) and chips and it was absolutely delicious. Loved the outdoor ambiance as well. A Vancouver must.

Julien Perbal-Castro

Great food, not cheap but you get what you pay for. The staff when I went were talking badly about a customer from a prior day, I was slightly put off by the fact they were badmouthing this customer in front of other customers, but that level of maturity matches the quality of music they had playing. So overall 4.5 Stars for food quality. Extra sauce was necessary as the tartar sauce -as delicious as it was, was portioned like war rations.

Malcolm Millar

Soooooo delicious! I've never had salmon fish and chips but it was unreal. Plenty of crispy chips too. Will definitely be back!

Jimmy Harjadi

The place looks simply but they offers the best fish with chips in Vancouver in nice prices. At the weekends there are lots of people waiting in line but its worth it!

Naomi Wilson

Best fish&chips in town with reasonable price. Love the outside view when it's warmer days. Always look forward to it!

Martin Rimorin

We ordered, not knowing it would be over a 45 minute wait to get some basic fries and small portion of deep fried fish. The food was good, but nothing amazing and especially not almost an hour wait!

Got take out cod and chips. Was pretty excited. Couldn’t see what I was getting because newspaper was around the fish and chips. Much to my chagrin when I actually opened the bag and took the newspaper off the fish was over fried to the point it was inedible. The fries, which should have been the saving grace, were also over fried to the point that each bite hurt my teeth. If I hadn’t walked so far away I would have returned the meal - but it was too far, so I threw the remainder of the rattling mess into the garbage. Really disappointed as I have been going to Go Fish for years - really seems like they are printing money so they don’t care about quality control. Word from the wise, check your meal before you walk away or you may have the same upsetting experience that I did.

William Hudacek

10/10 would hear them sing again. (Oh yeah, food was absolutely delicious as well)

Agâh Karakuzu

I have tried a lot of fish and chips and this is the best place. The fish is suculant, the coleslaw flavourful and the in house tartar sauce exquisite.

Sarah Lo

It’s great! In spite of all the hype and the long wait, I definitely recommend this place. Service was good and the quality of the food was fantastic, perfectly cooked. Taking one star off, however, as I ordered the salad with tuna and the dressing was way too sweet, clouding the flavor of the fish. I’m sure they will improve on this point in the future as this is a nice place with the capacity to put good food out on the table. Will come back and order something else until then.

Lindsey McEwan

Very good fish n chips. Be sure to start lining up a few minutes before they open. Expect at least a half hour wait.

Jennifer Stanley

Great food and super friendly staff! The wait can be a bit long on a sunny summer day but the food is worth it and the location makes the wait fly past

Milad Derakhshanmehr

We were there for the pawn, sadly we were too late and they were sold out. Notices there is a long line for this take out restaurant, decided to try with my family. I ordered the tacone since there is no Oyster sandwich for today. We also order the fish and chips. The halibuts were very fresh and deep fried with no extra grease. Very crispy and delicious! Definitely will be back for more!

Gerald Roscoe

Devine fish just fell apart and great fries. Incredible value for money.

Leesa Michelle

Best fish and chips I’ve had in Vancouver! The breading is so light and fluffy, while the fish is so fresh. You simply have to try it!

Rebecca Neild

Food is 5/5 but the reason for the rating is because I went in rush hour. Small place where they put care in the food but with the amount of people ordering food the wait get real late (45 mins). Go on the off hours !

Paul Stubley

Even if you call in 30 minutes ahead, you will still stand there for 20 minutes waiting. The cook is unclean, and touches the phone, etc while cooking. Will be filing a complaint with the health board.

Ruth MJ

Wow Amazing. What a treat, first impressions first of all I love that it's outsider it was my first time coming here today and I love the fish the service was very good people are friendly and the FISH was amazing I got the halibut and the cod with chips and cola with coleslaw on the side and tarter sauce with another spicy dipping sauce. The fish is deep fried but it was not heavy at all. When I was finished I was totally satisfied and I felt great, I didn't want to fall asleep or anything it gave me power and energy for my day. Can't wait to come back again. Thank you GoFish????

Chris Torres

Excellent fish and chips. Tacones are great too. Grab it to go and eat it in a nearby park overlooking downtown.

Tyler Sirman

Great crispy and fresh fish and chips. Super friendly staff. Very chill vibe. Enjoy your food with a great view of the harbor. Seating is limited and parking is right next to the restaurant, but also limited in spaces.

Johanna Solomon

Excellent food but obnoxious and rude service . I’ve been going most weekends to eat there and we love their tacos !!! But today - Their visa machine was down and they only accepted cash . I asked to place the order and head over to Granville island (3 min walk) to draw cash and come back to pay ( wait for food was 30 minutes )The woman at counter refused as it’s against their policy ( so far acceptable) and when I commented that they are making it hard , the guy plating ( light hair, beard , refused to share his name ) piped up and basically told me that I was making it hard ( hmmmm , your cc machine was broken ) and to “ go away” . Literally told me to leave ! Kind of reminded me of that Seinfeld episode ! Apparently , I’m not the only one that finds their service incredibly rude !!! Perhaps the owners need to offer some lessons in customer service and to realize that it’s not just the food that people are drawn to but also the overall experience ! Disappointing !!!

Thomas Robson

We are longtime customers. We are not tourists. We are never coming back. Our order was mis-heard and we ended up short one sandwich. We figured out the error but I didn't have anything to eat. The cashier asked the owner if he could rush another sandwich. He said no! We had already waited 45 minutes, I didn't want to wait more. Sad that locals can't get good customer service. The sign by the till is true - good food made by local idiots. Don't bother supporting these morons. There is plenty of other food at Granville Island.

justin purssey

Good fish and chips. Long lines, long wait for food. Expect to wait over 30 min. Expect pour and rude service. About 20$ for 2 piece halibut and chips. I'd say overrated.

Angela De Los Santos

Lovely food. Cute place. Enjoyed the curry soup tremendously!

Sam Coventry

Reaaaaally good, best fish and chips. My recommendation to everyone is salmon and chips for about $10

Mark Kneyse

Soooooo delicious! I've never had salmon fish and chips but it was unreal. Plenty of crispy chips too. Will definitely be back!

Jo L

Amazing little shop. Anything you get is bound to be good and the view and service is off the hook (pun intended). My only complaints is that they don't have ice and not enough seats. It's a small outdoor joint that seems pretty popular among locals and tourists alike. Don't skip this place. You'll regret it.

Ben Nelms

Very nice and fast service! Also served very nice with the dimsum tray. Though the cod was a little small. It was still very good! It's not on granville island,it is on the path a little off the island. Would definitely recommend to others.

Blue Morris

Had the regular cod fish and chips with coleslaw and it was as expected.. Nothing spectacular but still quite good. Should've tried some other menu items as they were more interesting.

Saul Sigalov

Great place to have fish and chips! It's hidden almost under Granville Bridge. There are some places to eat, the service is good and food is delicious.

Estairia Hong

Very tasty local seafood burger shack. Expect typically about twenty to thirty minutes from when you order and usually a 10-15 person average line wait before you order, especially on the weekends. This place is a popular tourist spot located a few minutes walk from Granville island. We ordered the albacore tuna and PO BOY sandwiches and both were great. Even the cole slaw had a surprising juicy taste. No alcohol served here so expect to wash it down with soft drinks or water. Can drive, bike or walk to this joint.

Stacey Nixon

Always loved Go Fish and it's an easy candidate for best fish-n-chips in Vancouver. The fish tacos and soups are also consistently good if you want something more healthy. If you can, don't go during typical peak hours, as if you do, you will be in line for a while...

Nasa Rouf

Best fish in Vancouver. Great value. Fun atmosphere, friendly staff, unbeatable view. Very busy lunch rush, so consider coming a little before or after standard lunch hour. Seating is entirely outdoors, so dress appropriately especially when it's raining.

Ian W. Yeo

It used to be very good but quality has gone down. Overcooked fish. Wasn't a lot of people but the wait took a long time.

Tom Servo

Fresh and delicious tacos and fish n' chips. Super friendly upbeat staff! A bit of a wait for food but worth it as it's made fresh upon order. Beautiful view of boats just outside of Granville island.

Sue Murphy

Fantastic fish and chips, Tacos, high-quality sandwiches.

Fidd Tech

Go fish is my go to fish and chips place in vancouver and the soups are amazing to

Nancy Kwasty

Solid fish and chips place. It is a little more hyped up than it actually is but the fish are crisp on the outside juicy in the inside. The po boys lack the punch but the sauce is fantastic. The chips are greasy and not great change it to another side.

Leah Lee

Delightful takeout seafood shack just off Granville Island. Really tasty food, friendly and efficient staff.

M Ping

Their salmon burger is absolutely amazing, I inhale every bite of it every time. The staff are fun and friendly and even though the line ups are long, their food tell you why. It's great to grab a bite and sit outside in the park to enjoy the view of the bridge and pier. Awesome place.

J Yo

Go fish had a line up all the way to the top of the dock but moved along quickly. As soon as I get to the boat they run out of spot prawns but have large shrimp at 15 per pound, I got 4 lbs in 2 bags but guy makes my day and says quite a few spot prawns mixed in. Perfect with my pasta and white wine

Shannon

First of all, good food. The cod I ordered is fresh and tasty. Affordable price and warm greetings are what we need nowadays. It's a pity they close patios currently. You need to find a roof to eat on rainy days.

Korn Singprasong

Super friendly staff! Great tartar sauce. Had the 2 piece cod and chips. Cod was overcooked and somewhat chewy. Fries were salted heavily.

Tim Child

Good fish and chips however on a Tuesday afternoon at 2pm (with no line up in front of us) we waited over an hour for our food. Very disappointing.

AlexP Su

Excellent Halibut and COD (and chips). Absolutely divine with very fresh ingredients where the fish is of such a high quality that can't remember having had as good before! DELICIOUS WITH LARGE FISH PORTIONS! Due to COVID-19, you have to take-out and not eat on the premises. This is totally understandable as it is right at the marina and any food that falls will attract too many birds, etc.

Oriana Shamoun

Fish shack anyone ? Tiny and tucked away this little hidden no frills fish and chips place is legit ! Just have to find it...

Rasheed Bolade

Brunch

Victor Chan

The staff here are incredibly rude. I have been here twice and both times I have been spoken to condescendingly and ignored. I guess the fish n chips are ok but certainly not good enough to wait in line to be disrespected, especially with all the great seafood on Granville Island.

Olivia Sari-Goerlach

The fish and chips were really nice, but I have to add to what other reviews have said about how rude the staff here are. Really unpleasant people, not at all polite, and I could clearly hear them chatting insultingly about me while I waited for my food which is completely unacceptable

Henrik Olsson

best take fish and chips. and the view is fabulous. if it is not too windy. you should drop by and try this place.

B W

Good fish and chips. Fun view by the dock. Go now while the pandemic is on because normally the line up is crazy.

Liam Moss

Meal was excellent, but you do need to be prepared to wait during meal time

Kevin Hua

This place is highly rated, and deservedly so. We’re here Sunday at 12:10, about 10 minutes after they open. There is a 20 min wait in line to order already, and by the time we ordered, the wait for the food is about 20 min. The folks working there were friendly, and shouted out the long wait time to everyone so they know what to expect. Didn’t see anyone leave though. Very simple Menu, Cod, Salmon, or Halibut and Chips, along with a Salmon “Taco” or wrap. The daily special was a Tuna wrap, along with a red curry soup. We ordered a bit of everything, and everything was good! The fried cod and Salmon had a crunchy batter, and the fish was very fresh. The fish was served on a bamboo basket filled with fresh fries that were crunchy, and a really big serving. The tar tar sauce and the slaw was very good too, but the cod was really good with ketchup as well. The tuna wrap was tasty, the flavors were very balanced, and enhanced the freshness and sweetness of the tuna. All in all, we ate too much, but we will be going back. The long lines were longer when we were done, but folks were waiting patiently for it.

morgana white

amazing fish...good as UK

Youngseok Oh

Great location. Chips and fish was excellent taste. Special is sauces. I really had a good time there. At the weekend is too busy and crowded here. We just ordered and take away. I sure will be back to try another type of food

Imane Tounsi

My favorite fish and chips in Vancouver! Line is often long, so go early. Great dinner or lunch before you visit Grandville

Merritt Chesson

Salty chips&burned, fish drowned in old oil terrible

Babak Samareh

Fish was nice and crispy on the outside, flakey on the inside. Very fresh! Fries were seasoned well and you can really distinctly taste the dill in the tartar sauce. Just sucks that we couldn't eat it within the premises but it's COVID season so understandable.

Alistair Vaz

Such a cool very casual fish and chips place. You order at the window and then eat at outdoor tables. Selection is limited to soup and fish and chips, but they do everything very well. Super fresh.

Anneke Smith

Short 5-minute walk from Granville Island, gets busy for lunch, Tuna tacone was amazing... Imo better than the salmon tacone. Fish and chips on par with Pajo's. Really friendly staff! Would go back again

Kyle Bullock

It was busy when we showed up here around 3. We waited in line until queue was getting shorter, and it was worth visiting Go Fish. There were families, couples and others waiting for their orders to be ready. Even though we waited around 20 minutes, our food came out fresh. Customers can't eat around this area so you must go elsewhere to find tables/chairs. We had to walk further to find a spot instead. We ordered 2 pcs Halibut and Chips it was a great decision! Fries were SO crispy and Halibut fillet were soft. Never had fries this GOOD (I swear) ! Fish fillet were so meaty, YUM! Coleslaw tasted rather vinegary it was not bad. I expected the usual creamy coleslaw when their coleslaw was more vinegary. Anyways, their beer battered Fish and Chips were excellent. Go Fish deserves two thumbs up!

Jacqueline Cullimore

we ordered two of the fish and chips; one with salmon and the other was halibut (i think) but, it doesn't matter because both orders of fish were delicious! the view was top notch and it's a short walk from Granville which was enjoyable. the only downfall was that the fries were extremely salty we left some behind. although, besides that the staff is a bunch of young guys which is a nice atmosphere and funny when you hear them talking to each other and working

Darcie Dyer

Great fish and chips, even better tacones. The wait time can make you question if they’ve forgotten your order, but at least you get to listen to the hilarious banter of the staff! My personal highlight was the guy frying fish who proclaimed “damn that’s hot. I’m semi hard right now” was hilarious and not at all inappropriate. I only wish more people in the food industry could get as excited by their job as this gentleman was, and also share the news of their arousal with everyone by shouting it at the top of their lungs.

Boon-Hau Teh

One of the best fish and chips in Vancouver if it's not the best. Whatever you get is good, I love 2 piece haddack with chips (you get too much fresh fries :)

Sharmay H

Fish and chips were delicious! There’s a long line up on the weekends but it is definitely worth the wait! Everything is made fresh and I would say portions are great compared to fish and chips from Steveston. Go fish and the fish counter are great places to get fish and chips!

levi hooft

Great local hut right off the wharf, away from tourist Granville Market, good food with reasonable prices. Had cod fish and chips, nice large portion without all the additional tips for servers higher end restaurants serving the same food.

Mike Spector

Been a few times, best in town by far. Awesome spot also. Phone your order in unless you like standing in long line up.

Mark Matt

Damn good halibut and chips. Fresh tasting fish and medium/light crispy batter. Quick service and lots of spots nearby to sit down and eat with a view.

Marion Le Saux

Very good fish and chips. Best place in Vancouver.

Elaine Smith

Love the halibut fish & chips! The view surrounding this place complements the food nicely too.

Tim

The fishesh are delicious but the potatoes not! Although one meal is not enough for two person or big one! All staffs are good and restrictions are done too.

Dr. Ibrahim Khan

Great cafe for fish lovers! I often come here with friends. Everything's OK!

Kevin Hoover

Best fish and chips I've ever had anywhere. Just a short walk from Granville Island, this is a must visit lunch spot. There was already a line forming at 11:15am, but don't let that deter you. The food was freshly cooked and unbelievable. It's a good thing i'm a tourist because i would no doubt gain 50 pounds eating here every day if i could. Their homemade tarter sauce was a nice addition even though the fish was so great it needed nothing extra. The staff was super friendly and entire experience was nothing but awesome in a very causal environment.

Troy Nam

Halibut was nice and thick. Wish they included more tartar sauce. If the gates (near the dock) are closed, you will have to go around to get to the restaurant.

Ivan Leung

great food, great staff. would highly recommend. Has incredible views of downtown vancouver.

Barneysaurus

Delicious food and beautiful view! We tried the cod fish and chips, along with the oyster po' boy. Both were fresh, lovely smokey flavor on the oysters, crisp fries and zingy tartare sauce. Staff were all cheerful and friendly inspite of the busy line.

Stephanie Carpintero

The food was amazing. I ordered the salmon fillet with fries. I however, should have looked or asked for tartar sauce and/or a lemon wedge as these are not included in the bag. There was also no seating likely due to Covid-19.

The New High Priest of Jupiter

Great fish and chips, friendly service. I wish the'd sell me a beer to go with it though - then we're in 5-star territory.

E. Brian Johnson

The food was worth the walk and tasty, will definitely eat there again. :)

Christopher W. Morris

I have to say I finally had best fish and chips. It’s always long line up but it’s really worth it and please go there before 1pm because they might sold out halibuts. I was lucky that I had last two of them. One thing I really happy about my meal was not so greasy and halibuts were so fresh. Also the seats were enough amount for everyone no one was eating without seat.

Nick Wilson

The fish and chips were crisp and fresh. Try the albacore tuna sandwich if you want something besides fish and chips.

Brendan Luck

Simple fish and chips exactly the way you would expect and want them to be. One crispy fish plus fries comes with TONS of those small soft fries, enough to share if you don't have a big appetite. First time there, only a bit of outdoor seating, but covered from the drizzle.

Nick N

Good place to have fish and chips. I often order halibut and it has been always fresh. Portions are huge and the views are awesome. Walking distance from Granville Island in case you are visiting our city.

Wilson Hong

It's a nice spot by Granville Island, off the main area, by the water. The food is good and pretty consistent. We waited 45 min for 2 pieces + fries, and it wasn't even busy that day. I didn't like that the staff had a bit of attitude and snapped when another customer asked how long he had to wait to get his order.

George Dy

Yummy fish which tasted like it was cooked in coconut oil. Not sure about that but really delicious either way. A bit of a wait so be prepared. Loved the tartar sauce and the coleslaw had a nice kick to it. Staff seemed happy at what they were doing and the music mix was awesome.

Dave Ko

Awesome fish and chips at a great price

Tim Austin

So friggin' good!!! Halibut, cod, fish tacos, chips, all of it just wonderful. Popular so be prepared for a wait. My only gripe is that I wish they served beer...

Abdulla Khatib

Love that place. Already missed their fish and chips..

Theshark180

Nice fresh food....lovely service....awesome location by the side of the sea. Served hot....what else can one ask for ?? Sometimes the wait is a bit long....but worth the experience

aron ashman

The halibut was delicious! The chips were ok.. but we had to wait 30 min

Vincent Roy

Go Fish has wonderful fish and chips. It is situated on a dock and you eat your food outside and watch the boats in the marina. Great place.

Selina Ma

Decent fish and chips, I like the batter but the fish was a little dry/overcooked.. I wouldn't say I'd avoid this place but I've had better

Any Liu

I liked their halibut and chips. It's an outdoor restaurant so dress for the weather.

Jennifer McKay

The fish and chips are like no other! Always super tasty and fresh. I don't like giving this kind of recommendation because the lineups are already long enough so now I do takeout when it's sunny!

Leta Forbister

Had cod and chips here today and have to say the fish was extremely disappointing. Small pieces cut wafer thin, over battered and over fried. The chips were great. The fish was no good. My wife had the halibut and it was much better. Avoid the cod !

Rick Onyshko

Yum! Great portion for the price. Definitely going back. Picture: Halibut and Chips.

Yon-Jun Kim

amazing, good value for money! it feels like eating very good fish with churros ????

Nancy Vũ

Meal type

Justin Foster

Great food. Love the location and patio. High quality justifies the higher price. However they need to do a better job to handle the number of customers (had to wait 40min for food).

Thomas Wade

We got the halibut and chips. Cost for this was $19– which honestly seems like an excellent price considering serving size and quality. The halibut was thick and well-cooked. The batter was perfect as well. It was pouring rain when we went. A server pulled out the canopy and wiped down all the benches and tables for us, which was very courteous. We would definitely recommend this place!!

Juli Rees

Cool set up but the food wasn't very good. Huge queue and waited with anticipation but sadly the fish (cod) was dry and chips over cooked. Salmon taco was good.

Julia Macdonald

I waited in line to be served and was told it would be a long wait before they took my order. While waiting I observed unsanitary conditions and that the area was a breeding ground for vermin. In retrospect, waiting in line was actually a good thing, It gave me the time to decide that I shouldn't eat anything from this shack. I wouldn't recommend eating here and would warn others against it.

Johnny Blog

I've been here twice and I really like their fish and chips. My first experience was better than the latest one. The second time around, the batter was just too thick. Cod and halibut fish were both excellent. Salmon tacone was really …

Jennifer Sutherland

Go Fish is a Must-Visit stop in Vancouver. The freshest fish and most lovely staff in the Grandville area. We will be returning!

Lynn Lin

Really good fish and chips. Mixed experience with the service- one guy doing the cash was lovely, another worker not so nice. Definitely worth a visit if near Granville Island.

Gizella Nagy

Used to be good, but now is bad. You now get a really small portion of salmon. These photos look great but that's definitely not what you get now, so be prepared to be disappointed. If you want good sustainable seafood there are so many other better options in Vancouver. It is a shame, used to be a good place to go :(

Gabriel Gonçalvez

We loved this place for years, lately, we found the halibut fish and chips - twice really thin - regretfully, won't be back for a while. We will try again in a few months. Hoping to have a different experience next time to change this to 5 stars again or no stars if the quality hasn't changed.

Al Dadlani

5/5 Better than pajos. Confusing spot though if you’re not used to the place. Didn’t know there was free parking

Marlene Gumpoldsberger

I've been meaning to try this place for a long time, and I finally happen to walk past it when I was showing my friend from Toronto around town. We decided to stop by for a quick bite and ordered their Halibut and Chips to share. The fish was very fresh and nicely cooked, and the batter was crisp and light. The only critique in terms of the food was that everything was under seasoned. Both the batter and fries needed more salt. But why the one star review? Because one of the staff there gave us the middle finger. A MIDDLE FINGER. Being a tourist and all, my friend took pictures of the cute little seafood shack to keep as a memory. That's when one of the staff kept yelling "no pictures" over and over again. We figured he didn't want to be in it, which was fine, so we resumed to take photos of our own food and the funny sign on their chalkboard. He started yelling "no pictures" again, and that's when he gave us a big middle finger. None of the other staff even stepped in or apologized for his behavior. We just left the establishment feeling like sh*t. Food was solid. But experience really is everything. And you can't really forget and move on, when you are mistreated and disrespected like that by a staff. Needless to say, I won't be coming back. Fish Counter on Main Street has amazing fish and chips and friendly people, if you are looking for an alternative!

E. E.

Only complaint is the wait and how long it takes to get the food. Weekends/holidays, it can be about an hour after you order, "quieter" times may be about 30 minutes. The seating is completely outdoors and you do get a decent view of the water and the buildings over in Yaletown. But the food is delicious and well worth the price. The fish is fresh. The fish and chips is perfectly fried, the fish on the inside is amazing. Last time I also tried the grilled fish on a bed of greens. Had salmon and it was really juice. They also had this tangy sauce which complimented the food really well. Definitely recommend this if you are not a fish and chips person.

Andrea Oyuela

Wow, we are blown away by the incredible customer service!! Ordered dinner via Uber and was disappointed when only half of our order showed up. Called the restaurant and Dylan immediately apologized for the mix-up and offered to deliver the rest of our order to us. 30 minutes later, he was on our doorstep with the missing items and even extra items we hadn't ordered! Food was amazing as always (the halibut is so good!), but we are honestly just so impressed with the inspiring customer service!

Jonathan Zou

Best fish to have while in Vancouver.

Kobe

Really busy and really fresh. Pick up some beer from Granville Island on your way down and enjoy it all right on the dock. Great spot on a summer day. Its all open air seating, by the way.

Nora Smart

Literally the best fish and chips ever! Go all out for the halibut and you won't regret it, if the wait is 45 mins that's a good thing, well worth it + some of the greatest staff! Cheers

Omar Shaheen

Food is always great. Death metal at full blast so they can't hear your order. Swearing / yelling. Customer service might require a new crew.

BasiL

Really good fish and chips not sure what they put in the tartar sauce but it's amazing.

Craig Thomas

The fish was amazing but the fries might have been the star. And really, how does it stay hot and crispy in 40 degree weather.

Alicia W.

Amazing is really all I need to say. A friend introduced this to me on a cold, rainy, Sunday afternoon. Upon arrive, their covered dining area was full, however there was no line to place an order. My friend stated that during the summer the line is rather large so it was a great first experience not having to wait in line. Even with no line, we waited about 10 to 15 minutes for an order of Salmon Sandwich, Fish Taco & the Soup Of The Day. All of them were top notch ???????? While we were ordering, I could see one of the cooks skinning a fish ????, so I'm assuming that is why it took over 10 minutes for our order to be ready. Totally worth the wait even in the cold. Looking forward to going back and trying their fish n chips. As for dining space, it's all outdoors. Most of the seating is covered and it seems that they also have some uncovered seating, which for obvious reasons was not in use that day.

Christine Smithrim

Excellent place to eat fish a chips with astonishing views of the marina and downtown.

Daniel Kosecki

Very good Fish & Chips! Our local friends recommended this place and it did not disappoint! Our friend got the tacos which came with a bunch of greens wich was great! We ate at the little park next to go fish and it was great!

Vincent Valenzuela

great fish and chips out of a shipping container, near the seawall around false creek. fish is fresh and very tasty. great place to go on a summer's day.

Teresa McDonald

This place is popular and for good reason, so be prepared to wait! Simple and delicious fish and chips. Nice spot by the docks too. Will be back!

Prem Sharma

Good fish, but I don't see what all the fuss is about. For me it's not worth waiting 30 minutes for fish and chips.

grant sobkowicz

What a great deal. Great fish, great chips. Low key . No attitude. Great price.

Matt Fernets

Fish and chips are great. But to leave a line of people waiting 15 minutes after opening so the crew can have a smoke break is pretty bad. I wish I could run my business this way and get away with it.

Ju, Hyung Joo Kim

Very good experience and nice fish and chips

Jessica Gannon

Amazing food, good service and a good price!! Definitely go here if you're craving some good fast food. Fresh fish

Lori Pederson

Great food, amazing fish and the staff are hilarious and kind

Natasha Sawyer

The fish was good, great taste. Better were the fries. There were ones a bit undercooked, some well done, some big, some small, some crunchy bits at the bottom... the best fries experience is when you can pick a bunch and get all these textures in one bite.

Anthony Markin

Finally after years of hearing about this place I found it by accident. Everybody is busy. One guy taking the order, several cooks, etc. We ordered two pieces of halibut comes with chips and coleslaw. They call your name and pick up your order from the counter. The halibut was perfectly done. Very fresh and crisp. The chips also perfectly done and plentiful. Very reasonable pricing and enjoyable view. Service prompt and courteous. .

MHm

Halibut was tasty, fries were fresh. Staff was pleasant

X O

I got the halibut fish and chips. The chips were amazing and the sauce mix is well put together. Oil control is excellent - there was no excess grease, and there are signs that the shop changes their fryer oil regularly. The fish batter was cooked and crunchy, but unfortunately the halibut, fresh as it was, tasted a bit tough. Normally I’d look for the “melt in your mouth” flavour when it comes to fish and chips and it’s nowhere to be found here. But, the chips was incredible enough for me to have an enjoyable experience. Other than that, service was friendly and the price was more than fair. Overall a good meal. Will come back and try the cod another time.

Siobhan Cutler

This is an authentic fish and chips shack just off the seawall bike path, near Granville Island. It’s literally a cargo container in a random parking lot, but the food is amazing. We shared the halibut fish and chips and the tuna sandwich, and both were among the best I’d ever had. The halibut in particular was super creamy, and the tuna in the sandwich was cooked perfectly. The only downsides were 1) the fire were quite salty, 2) this is not fast food; we had to wait about 10 minutes to order and 20 minutes to receive our food, and 3) there was nowhere to sit, even those COVID restrictions for outdoor dining had lifted. I still highly recommend though, as this is a great fish and chips stop, and prices were very reasonable.

Hudson Mackenzie

We had cod & chips. Shared 2 pieces & chips. Brought 3 friends so 5 of us just came before closing then another dozen people came.

Alison Bjornson

Had the best red curry fish soup here, so tasty. Just be patient for your order they are very busy

Utsuho Reiuji

Best fish in chips in the area and price vs quantity is excellent

Arturo Tejuco

Tasted good overall. Halibut was thick, made it a bit dry. Chips were great. Customer service needs improvement.

Tracie Gusola

Great to have them open when its cold and windy. Good F&C fresh fish. Yum

Blake KIngsbury

The best fish and chips place I ever had in my whole life! Outside table is perfect!

Spencer Sproule

Best fish & chips in town! I don’t order fish & chips anywhere else after eating at this restaurant. The fish is incredibly fresh and the batter has been perfected, crisp yet light. staff are great and efficient. Price is comparable to other joints but the quality here can not be beat! The location is lovely too, it’s an old shipping container converted to a kitchen so all seating is outdoors next to a dock. My only critique is the seating though, I find that sometimes it’s so busy that I can’t find seating once I receive my food. A couple more tables and chairs near the long table would be a great addition!

Good quality food. Good service. It's just a bit pricey. But then again what do you expect from a good quality fish n chips place?

J. G.

Classic Vancouver fish and chip shack on the seawall. Portions are excellent, fries are perfect, and the tuna sandwich/tacone is a sleeper hit. Any sunny summer day the wait will be 30-45 minutes, call ahead to order for a set pickup time.

Niki eberhardt

Halibut , so meaty and fresh. Chips maybe the best in the city. No salt needed on chips. They hit them with the proper amount. Do the false creek loop - eat the fish, you deserve it.

Noah Poirier

Never going back to this place again. I have always loved this place until yesterday when we discovered a sharp plastic piece in the sauce. I took it to the counter and the person attitude was very casual. He took the piece and gave me another sauce (that makes no difference). The attitude was not at all apologetic and he knew that the kid could have swallowed it by mistake. Anyway, I have serious doubts about the hygiene at this place now.

khadija zehra

Just waited for long time for a single order… but anyway fish was good with house chips…

Anna Newman

Great location. Meals are not cheap but very tasty. Long line ups in Summer Well worth a visit.

Dana Hopfauf

The fish was light and flaky which made it really good. The chips were tasty and you with a little malt vinegar they were extra tasty. We ate at a bench nearby because of Covid and they were really good about asking people to distance.

Zuzanna Domańska

Best Halibut in Vancouver, No better place for F&C's then on the wharf.

Dahn Jeong

Eating outside is always great. Eating great fish and chips and a amazing salmon sandwich tastes even better. Great!

Josh Mohan

Although it can be busy on sunny days, it's worth waiting for. All the seating is outside with really great views, since it is located right on the Fisherman's Dock. One tip I could offer when it's busy... Order your food and have a quick walk to Granville Island while you are waiting (it's 1 minute away). Then come back and enjoy some of the best Fish and chips in Vancouver.

Dennis Wong

the fish is always great...but the music was hard core and very, very loud. someone complained and gal running the show laughed and yelled, its keeping everyone awake but it was rude. she was and so was the music.Tartar sauce comes now with about 1 tbsp in a dixie cup so you always have to order 2 now and pay 50c more. I think that is too cheesy. At 18$ for 2 peices of halibut and chips a full dixie of tartar should be affordable for the company.

Olaf Moosmann

Came for the fish and chips. The oil was too cold, I think. Doughy batter and overcooked fish. The staff and the location was nice, but not worth 14CAD for two filets and chips. Definitely disappointed.

Jeremiah Jao

Great fish and chips right by the water. They use fresh fish caught daily and the view is very nice. I recommend going on a nice day and sitting outside it is worth it

Mory M

Perfect lunch stop while biking around False Creek.

Nancy Nguyen

They state their hours online as being open until 7pm. We made a special trip across town ( a forty minute drive in traffic) and arrived at 6:40, so that we would be there before closing. When I tried to order, the girl would barely look at me. She said they were closed, despite all kitchen equipment being on and cooks dishing up orders. The girl was rude and didn't want to take my money. She showed no care or empathy that my family had just driven all the way across town to arrive before their stated closing time. Maybe if you close at 6:15pm you should say you close at 6:15pm, not 7pm!

Phylis Numan

Don't stray from the classic fish and chips! Got here at 6:30 on Saturday and did not get the food until 7:50. Their estimation was a bit off. I was so hungry I forgot to take food pics. The tacos were so drippy and the fish was dry and luke warm. I was so devastated after waiting so long. The pacific fish in the tacos were not battered and deep fried. Like they said, they put the fish on a hot plate and serve that. What redeemed them was they fried me a piece of cod after I talked to them, even after they stopped taking orders. If I ever come here again, it will be on a weekday and only for classic fish and chips.

BEST IN VANCOUVER! You must try!

Yasamin Rafipour

Had lunch on a sunny weekday when it was not that busy. Had the oyster sandwich and tuna sandwich with coleslaw. First service was really slow and we had to walk away from the area and eat it in a park. Food tasted quite bland and boring while the tiny coleslaw had a weird spice in it which did not appeal at all. I don’t think I’ll be back!

Fillipe de Almeida

Probably the best fish tacos in the city. This little spot is always busy, and there is a very good reason why - the fish is great! Good flavours in their tacos, the fish isn’t overly battered or over-cooked, and the prices are not bad and portions are good. The biggest downside of Go Fish is that they have the most apathetic people working there. They honestly do not give a sh^+ about the line, what time it is, or how long it takes to get an order up. You could be first in line right when they open, and they may still make you wait to take your order because they aren’t up to it yet. The lines are long but people keep coming back.

Leah Gibson

Halibut was okay but what I got was 50% breading. Went there on a weekday so no lineup at all. You gotta ask for a receipt though as they wont give it to you and apparently they can't print it once theyve entered an order. The one pink haired female server looks like Emily Browning though so that's a plus

Oby Johnson

We were walking at Granville Island when my friend mentioned this place. It looks like its closed but its not. Walk down the driveway and you will see it. The seawall access is closed. We had the cod and fries and I enjoyed it.we grew up in the north and only ate beef. The staff were very helpful and it took some process with all the protocol from covid but I would go back

Billy Abesdris

Great fish and chips place close to Granville Island

Wes Jenkins

Some of the best fish and chips I have ever had. Definitely recommend checking this shack out

Susan Boyce

Better than expected! small outdoor seating great views of Granville island (sortof) and fresh seafood must go!

zakrea hashim

Cool spot for Fish & Chips. Ok portion on fish and a bit thick on the batter but depends on how you like it. Fun spot to visit regardless and we took ours to go to walk the seawall!

Allison & Mark Leja

An unpretentious little food shack which offers the BEST Fish & Chips in town. Food is served in reusable containers! Amazing view of Granville island and Yaletown. Chill atmosphere.

Flora Chan

I love this place! The only problem is the wait - twenty minutes in line and close to forty minutes for the food once you've ordered. Be ready for that. It's not the staff's fault though since they can't control how many people go there. Every piece of fish is cooked fresh, and the fries are also cooked fresh. Fresh, fresh, fresh! The point is after enduring the crazy long wait, the food is just out of the frier fresh! The staff was professional and let everyone know it would be a half hour wait after ordering. Awesome place, I'll definitely be back!

Ricky Sykes

Delicious all around. The fried halibut and chips took home the award however. Excellent tartar, and malt vinegar to boot.

Morgan Lai

The food is good but the service and wait are not worth the hassle. You can wait up to 30 or 45 mins and sometimes the staff forgets to tell you about the wait. Staff can also be rude, I ordered fish and chips and a pop, then paid. While I waited I asked the same guy who took my order if I could have the pop, he told me he gave it to me already, when I would clearly know if I had it in my hand. I told him he didn't give me the pop and then he went back to the back of the cash machine where he left the pop and then proceeds to tell me it's my fault because I didn't take it, when is obvious that as a customer you shouldn't be reaching over the counter by their cash machine. Not a single apology either. This place is going down hill. Customer service is poor. AVOID THIS PLACE. I'M A LOCAL AND I'LL NEVER GO BACK.

Colin Brander

We have enjoyed Go Fish for years, and with tedious digestive issues, their salmon sandwich is one thing I know I can eat. Lately, though, their customer service seems to have deteriorated, and today was a low point. When I asked for my sandwich, I was told that the regular dressing was unavailable and I could have tartar or chipotle. Since I can't eat either of those, I asked if they didn't have regular mayo. No was the reply, despite an employer scooping a bucket of it into another container to make tartar. Even though I explained my situation, I was met with an adamant nothing doing since they don't offer mayo to anyone who asks...no exceptions. Come on! Good customer service is knowing when to make an exception to your "rules"!

beef o'malley

The food was really good. Fast service. Everything physically was good. But there was one or two employees swearing and talking about previous customers, about under cooked fish, and just plain being a rude customer service rep. Even the music was vulgar rap/punk. Alot of families and tourist type in the area. Not really appropriate. Again, the food was good. Maybe get it to go :)

Ahmad Al Wazzan

Tiny little spot with good food and a beautiful view.

Daniel Silver

One employee sang a cute little melody while preparing the food and it melted the hearts of many! My friend and I swooned. We loved the halibut and chips with a side of oh-my-cod! Thank you for the great customer service! Will definitely be back before our vacation ends.

Ty Battle

Great fish and chips. Busy most of the times.

Mitch Bain

An institution in the city. Haddock, Cod, Salmon. Battered beautifully. Other things between bread. Fries (chips) that live up to their British counterpart. Tartar made with love and magic.

Matt Burke

Best fish and chips i had in years. The chips aren't frozen like most restaurants are. They are freshly cut and salted perfectly. Sorry for the spelling mistakes.

Rj Campbell

Well worth the wait time, as it's the best fish and chips I've ever had... and not pricey either...

Jake Graham

The perfect spot for casual seafood eating outside overlooking Vancouver's harbor. Hiiiiighly recommend their fish and chips. The best I've ever had.

Hanne Brahim

Decent fish and chips, but the wait is too long on weekends. In line for 5 mins or so and wait 30 mins for your order. Not the cheapest but okay quality.

emerson thomas

Best Fish & Chips Great place to get away during all the Covid stress. Enjoy the food with a Million Dollar view. Staff friendly, all around Best Food, enjoy!

Fish and tacos are good, service can be quite salty as can the grey haired retirees at the communal table. Ok for quick bite or meets on the seawall otherwise head to better places.

I order salmon and chips, chips is good and many, I feel full. Fried salmon is really really AWESOME!!! I like it so much!! And staff is friendly, really enjoy the meal:)

Carol A

Absolutely amazing place. I work right near here so it's kind of a ritual that about twice a month we get fish n chips from here. Always halibut and chips, and always amazing! They give you great sized portions and the employees are always lively and nice. I can't recommend this place more! I am born and raised in Vancouver and am a big fish n chip buff. I've been just about everywhere that offers some of the fish n chips in Van (The Beach house, dundarave fish market, Coast, to name a few) and Go Fish beats them all out of the water!

Rimpal K

Great outdoors fish & Chips place right on Fisherman's Warf at the entrance to Granville Island. If it's not raining in Vancouver this is the place for fried fish

Kevin Drager

Great fresh fish and chips. Fish was flakey and had good moisture. With the tartar it was to die for! Definitely one if the better places in vancouver for this type of food. Would definitely recommend!

Nancy Hawkins

Ohhhh Yeaaaaaaaah! Fantastic Fish and Chips! Great location! There is a reason this place is always busy. Their food is delicious! Fresh fish cooked to order and really good fries too.

s jmp

This USED to be my go to place, but no longer. The food was good, albeit they were out of tartar sauce which is... weird. But the service is really bad. Servers were outright rude. They were playing heavy metal music with obscene lyrics, I had little kids with me, that's not okay. Then someone tried to turn on a gas heater to warm up the place, the staff were yelling at them, and loudly speaking ill of their customers, all because they were trying to turn on heaters on a cold, rainy day. They also were yelling at customers to bring back their vinegar.

Edwin Sokukawa

Best fish and chips in Vancouver. Get the salmon it's so good, I also love the wasabi mayo.

Michelle Orozco

Highly recommended! The fish was fresh and crispy. Not too greasy. Very tasty. Nice view and friendly staff. Downsides are the long wait time and limited seating.

Kris C.

This is a great fish and chips place! My husband and I had salmon fish and chips, salmon char grill and tuna tacones. I really liked the sauce given with salmon char grill. It was my first time trying tacones and it was very delicious! The only reason I’m giving 4 stars is their service is very slow. I waited about half an hour to get my food.

Mike Peel

Great place, one of the best street foods in Vancouver, fish is fresh and the prices are just right, the view is the ocean - can't get better for what you pay

Vikki Rourke

We ordered 3 pieces Cod and chip which was good. Only the fish seems not marinated.

Gordon Firth

They wait until after you've your fish to tell you that you can't eat outside in the car park because it's considered inside a restaurant. Many patrons were upset that they were told to leave or eat in their car.

Was told it would be a 30 minute wait for food. It's now been 50 and still nothing. I could have walked to Granville Island, had a multi-course meal, and walked back in the time it takes them to fry one piece of fish and a few fries. Being busy is one thing but their service logistics are absolutely inexcusable.

Rahta S

Went there today (Sunday) at 4pm. I was surprised it's still open during the pandemic. Wanted to give my support. I had the cod and chips. Everything was great except for the long wait. Said it'll be a 30 mins wait, ended up waiting for 50 mins.

Delicious fish and chips at affordable prices. I got a piece cod fish with chips at about $13. It has a small outdoor seating area that’s not heated so it got quite cold on a cold windy day. The person giving us the food was absolutely funny and energetic! And that made the experience even better.

Mark Mandel

Really good fish and chips place but get there early since line gets longer as the day goes on

Danny White

Great value and portion size. Thanks for lunch!

april isaac

Casual fish and chips place! A very organized service amid Covid-19 special measures. Pricing and quality matching!

Highly overrated. Tourist trap. Food is pricey & mediocre. Staff are truly indifferent to the quality of their product. If you want good Fish & Chips skip this spot & head over to the Fish Counter on Main street.

amy8352

Best fish and ships ever. Better than any I had in England. The cod is very good and the Halibut is a blast!

Hessam Mirsadeghi

A leisurely walk past boats on one side and gardens on t'other (I always bus to Granville Island now..less stress) to get some Haddock and Chips..light, delish and so affordable. Hadn't been in years. Hasn't changed. Still Rustic, Still Great.

Evan Gatehouse

Lines are very long! Fish and chips are great but quality seems to have gone down a little. The fish taco's are another good option. If it's raining, I would avoid the place as there aren't many areas that are covered. Otherwise, on a sunny day, nothing beats eating next to the fishing boats and ocean.

Neo Dijorno

Solid fish chunks, breaded just lightly, and great prices and views while eating.

Zach Harris

Always good food. Lots too.

Ali Tehrani

I’ve eaten here for years and used to love this place but sadly the last few times I’ve gone the service I received by one white guy in particular was super poor and rude. The rest of the staff were efficient and friendly. Today they opened 11mins late. I was four in line, ordered a grilled salmon salad and was told there would be a twenty minute wait.

Winnie Tong

Great fish and chips, stop by if you're passing

Janice Clark

The fish and chips are good with the halibut being better. Make sure you don't go for the first hour after they open as it's very busy and they were slow to open by roughly 10 mins when we went.

randy hodge

Was expecting an high quality experience but did not receive what was expected. The fish and chips were very delicious, but on other hand the wait time was very long and the employees have a very rude stuck up attitude towards the customers.

Kai Ernn Gan

Small shack that serves tasty fish and chips. The green curry soup was delicious and the halibut and chips were good, but not worth the 49 minute wait that it took. Friendly staff helped and were great, but I wouldn't wait that long again. If you can get in and have your food in less than 20 minutes, go for it.

M Ho

Comparatively less expensive to the places nearby. Got cod and salmon fish and chips. Both taste really good. Definitely will come back to the place.

manuela acosta

Amazing place, and a music selection that took me back to my teen ages!

Josh T

Great fish! We shared halibut x2 and a piece of cod with fries. They even gave us each a serving of coleslaw! Good price, batter was delicious and fries were decent!

Kiara Spilak

1/2 hour wait to order to find out 90 minute wait for food. No fish and chips is worth that. Oh, and employees said to F off if I don't like it.

Joyce T

Go up the stairs to the fountain area to sit and eat. Amazing views and you get the perfect view of the bridge, downtown, and the water. It's even nicer at night when all the lights are on

Jonathan LaBianca

Half hour lineup to order and then told 50 more minutes to fry a piece of fish and some french fries! And they try to qualify it as "normal in the restaurant business". Ridiculous! Food is ok but definitely better places to go. Use your time in more professional places that have some respect for your personal time.

Nazanin M

Great place. I local friend took me to this place and we had a great time at the docks :) Location is excellent and the food is good too. I don't remember it too much since that was 2 years ago but I don't remember anything negative.

Fish and chips - sure. Do not come here if you're hangry. Expect atleast a 40 mins wait; the workers do kindly remind their customer of the long wait. I'm a bit surprised it's this long to deep fry fish and thin cut potatos for fries. The folks definitely look busy throughout, just can't see how it can take so long. Slightly over fried fish and salty fries. Not the worst, not the best. Not worth the long wait.

Mehmet I.

Best fish and chip shop in Vancouver. A must if you're a local or visiting. Be aware, weekends the line to get fed is long. Best to go off hours.

Absolutely Fantastic fish and chips place. Today we went there for the first time and had the Cod and Chips. The Cod was exceptional and the chips were absolutely tasty. The portions were just perfect, brilliant place and will be coming back here again for sure!!!

Really delicious but portions are a bit small. I had the tuna sandwich and could easily have had 2x the fish on there. The bun to fish ratio was too high.

Very fresh fish and chips, but there is usually about 40 to50 minutes waiting time. The portions are small. The price are good.

Bad in every way. The Tacones are soaking wet with marinade, the slaw was warm, and they served me the wrong type of fish, which, when corrected, was caked in under-cooked, chewy batter. The fries were cooked in stale oil and rapidly turned brown as we sat at the tables. Take a look through the service hatch and the mystery was solved, every appliance and fixture was filthy with old oil, it must have been last cleaned when Vancouver was a mining camp. All of that, however, pales into insignificance next to the horrorshow that was the oyster po'boy. Three wet oysters sat on the same side sauce that comes with the fries, topped with iceberg lettuce and refried onions. It was inedible. Please sweet Jesus, take it off the menu if you are going to birth that abomination into the world.

Carmella X

One of Vancouver's few quality food spots without all the glitzy hype. Sadly, I only am rating four stars due to the lack of gluten free options. However, the salmon and salad dish I had was phenomenally tasty. Seriously some of the best fish served anywhere, and a sauce that was balanced and full of depth. Definitely recommend it!

Richard Rhoades

I'm almost ashamed to say this...... the best fish and chips i have ever eaten, better than any British takeaway, and that is supposed to be our thing!! well worth a visit!

Rie Knk

Delicious! Stopped there today when I was out dog walking and eat tuna and salmon fish tacos. Support this business, because they have been hit hard by the pandemic as well.

Patrick Chan

Go fish one of the best eating experiences in Vancouver. If you go on a weekend the chances are you will wait for half an hour for your food but do not worry. Just take walk along the seawall and back. So make sure you're not starving when you get there. Other times the food comes out at a good time and is the best fish and chips in the city. It's not only their fish and chips though. Their tacones, daily sandwiches and soups are just delicious. Grab a seat by the water and enjoy your meal with a great city view.

Lillian Poon

Absolutely amazing fish and chips! Fish is very fresh, you can choose from cod, halibut or salmon. Portions are big and price is reasonable. Sitting outside and overlooking on Downtown is just little extra what you get when you eating this perfect food!

Felix Girard

I didnt mind the wait at all, finall recieved my fish n chips which were cooked into fish jerkey.. Great place but quality must be watched.

Brilliant people, brilliant food. Please come with a brilliant mood. ————edit in Feb2018———— Please don't expect good service or good portion close to the end of operation hours

No line on a rainy day. Portion size was good and the food was hot and fresh. The fries were a little too salty and I wasn't a big fan of the coleslaw, but the fish itself (I got the cod) was really good.

Salty Dog

I've been here twice and I really like their fish and chips. My first experience was better than the latest one. The second time around, the batter was just too thick. Cod and halibut fish were both excellent. Salmon tacone was really flavorful with the salsa, chipotle cream and coleslaw. No patio to eat on, but we always find a nice spot on the grass nearby and have our food!

Tony dez

Good fish & chips right from the heart of false creek. Halibut, cod, salmon, tuna, great selection and generous portions. Normally you can order and eat right outside overlooking the activity in the inlet. Take-out only during covid. If possible, order ahead before pickup as wait times can be quite long.

Courtney Aindow

Nice place to enjoy fish and chips outside great food but they close at 6:00pm so get there early sometimes there's a good line up to place orders

Sandra Arias Rivas

I visited Vancouver for them once. The most beautiful fish and chips place in North America? Who knows!

Brenda

Fresh and delicious! Batter is just right and not oily. We loved it! And the chips...oooh so crunchy and again not too oily. We will definitely come back for more...

J B

Used to be a big fan. Ordered one cod and one salmon this time and instead got two cod. Got charged the two salmon price. Girl was very rude and unwilling to admit the mistake and scoffed when I asked for a little more tartar. Won't be back!

Mark Crystal

Delicious fresh fish, halibut pieces are large and batter is not too thick. Chips are a nice crispy cut. Reasonable prices. Extremely popular spot so be prepared to wait awhile

Doug Wiltshire

Great fish and chips that are even good cold. Quite possibly the best fish n' chips in Vancouver and in my top five from my travels.

Lisa Lee

My wife is from England. We're on a never ending hunt for the best fish and chips since she moved to Canada. I think this might be on par, or even better (her English pride would never let her admit anywhere else is better). But we absolutely loved our meal. We got the cod and chips. You can literally taste the freshness of the fish. The chips were perfect and so tasty. The tartar sauce was delicious. And the price is very reasonable for the portion you get. Everything about it was perfect. Highly recommend.

Average 30 minute wait. The fish and chips are not seasoned but there's salt pepper vinegar and lemon. The servers sound like fishermen and complain like fishermen. If it's not your thing, just take it to go

Aman Bansal

Super pretentious fish and chips shack by the Granville Island. The fry is good so they absolutely deserve 4 stars. But the workers/owners are verge on the side of rude to the people who wait patiently to place/receive their orders. While I appreciate the occasional shout-out of current wait times, the delivery of the message comes off as rude as they playfully wave goodbye to the patrons who don't have time to wait. Yeah you're good, but not so good that you can laugh off willing paying customers because you can't fry fish fast enough.

Doug Campbell

Come early. They're a small shack that tends to attract large crowds. You may end up waiting up to an hour for food after its ordered. Is it worth the wait though? Absolutely. Some of the best fish and chips in the city.

S Park

Always THE BEST fish n chips in Vancouver. Located on the water, with a view of Granville Island. Well, went there in the rain as it's slow then, left a very good tip and thought I'd be top of their list, but the guy forgot my order, and after seeing other people get their orders, i asked. I finally got my 1 piece salmon, 1 piece halibut and chips over 20 minutes after i first ordered. WELL, it was so damn good that all is forgotten and I'll be back.......again ????

Nisha Momin

The food was amazing as well as the staff. I will be going back here many more times. The setting and the food make it a must visit restaurant.

Had heard so much about this place, and am glad I finally went. Huge line up, but they handled it well. And awesome fish and chips!! Super nice staff, working their butts off. Great job!!

Great quality halibut. There's quite a line up so definitely expect to spend at least 30 minutes, but it's worth the wait.

Siqin Liu

nice little fish and chips place in Granville Island , right next to the public fish sales pier , good fish , price are reasonable , also has daily soup , Monday close and opens till 6pm only , it's a food stall with a few tables , best to eat there on a nice day , lovely view and relaxing .

Alex N

Best fish and chips I've ever had. Great price and a location for any travel guidebook. A tiny little shop to pick up from and find a place in the park to sit down and enjoy.

Jacob Brock

The halibut fish and chips were awesome. The location is off the beaten path near Granville Island over looking the marine. There are lots of good spots to sit along the sea wall to enjoy lunch as this is primarily take out. The staff were great and seemed to be having a good time as a team while cooking.

Venus Cheung

I ordered two fish and chips when I came here the first time. The fish was cod. Oh man! The fish tasted juicy and fresh. I couldn't taste that the fish was frozen before. The coleslaw salad was great as well. Fries were delicious that were crispy. Probably Go Fish fried the fries twice to come up with a crispy texture. It was cute that the fish and chips were placed in a Chinese steamed basket. The only downside was the wait time was too long. It was longer than I expected. I was eating the fish and chips. A couple who sat beside me also waited for a long time. When they were eating, I asked if they liked the fish and chips. They said very good! They were actually tourists from England who always eats fish and chips in their home country. They searched online and found Go Fish. Foreigners also said Go Fish was good. I would agree that it was very good!! I came here again. I ordered a halibut fish and chips. They were so good! It is always good to come here once in a while.

Ed Kwa

Today was my first time here. I ordered the fresh Halibut. Yesterday I had the Lingcod at Vancouver Fish Co. The Halibut here is very good fish but personally I liked the Lingcod there a bit more as it was more moist, juicy and outside batter I liked a bit more. They are different I suppose one could say depending on personal taste differences.

Justin Macd

Terrible service. We called ahead and they still closed early. Don't waste your time. The Fish Counter is better food and miles ahead in service.

Evan Bisson

Perhaps if they didn’t have unfavourable music and extremely loud conversation I would of enjoyed My fish more. The fish was crispy and parking was available free on site. Fries where perfect. Warning they charge 50cents for extra tartar sauce unlike other better competitors

Chirag Shamdasani

I love this place but there is usually a giant line up. As a local, it's nice to go in the shoulder and off seasons. The staff is fun, keeping up a good mood considering they are working in a shack. I thank you!

Good, but long wait on weekends (~30 mins).

Absolutely adore this place. Every visit to Vancouver we must stop here for the halibut, location and down to earth vibes. Amazing fish, sustainably sourced, best location away from busy granville island. All biodegradable tableware. Just the right amount of good food, good ethos and good service.

Super tasty lightly seared tuna sandwich. My wife had grilled pink salmon that she declared excellent too. These guys know how to cook fish.

It's not even 6:30pm and they are turning people away saying they've been working all day, even tho their hours are until 7:00pm. That's what working hours are for. If you want to be open only until 6:30pm then close at 6:30pm. People come from all over the world to try your food and you turn them away. This place is not worth the rude staff. If you want delicious fish and chips and friendly nice human beings go to the Fish Counter on Main Street.

A must do when you visit Vancouver. Had tacones and fish and chips. They were both delicious butni prefered the Tacones, they were more originals! You won't find better value for your money. Be ready to wait about 20min, but it's worth it!

Jack Tallison

Not the best customer service and the fish batter was flavourless. Better down the street.

Cameron Bennett

Fish and chips are amazing! So was the "taco" I had. Getting thru the line wasn't bad, but Wait times (1 hour) for the food is a bit ridiculous.

Patrick Hickey

Yummy lunch. Nice place with excellent views. Don't feed zee buuurds!

Bruno Bonatto

Great fish and chips, great service. Excellent Covid-19 protocols. Waits can be long, so pre-order if you can.

Graham Jones

Great prices for the amount of food you get but they kinda close when they feel like closing and don’t stick to their opening hours. The food is a bit greasy but totally satisfying if you’re craving fish and chips!!!! Better to go early than later during their “opening hours”

Amazing Fish and Chips place! The Halibut was crazy good! Very good food! The ocean and Granville island view is amazing! The service was so fast! Staff are so nice and friendly! Highly recommended!

Fresh fish right off the docks. Good portions of fish and chips. Like having the option of just having fish and no chips, as it can be a bit too heavy! Prices are fair.

Went during the lunch rush. Long line, but moved quick. Got the tuna sandwich, it was delicious. Seared on the outside, sashimi on the inside. Great balance of delicate asian flavours, sweet sauce, mild wasabi mayo, fresh greens, and an asian coleslaw that was crunchy (not soggy). The bun was soft and freshly grilled. For $11.50 I want more than 3 slices of tuna, considering the big bun (bun-to-meat ratio needs to be reviewed). Friendly staff that knows how to hustle when the line gets long. The area is clean and well maintained by staff and patrons. Casual, outdoor seating offers great views of the water & Granville Island. I am definitely coming back to try more of the menu items, and I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Best fish and chips ever.

Best fish n chip place and my go to when I visit Granville Island. Only a short walk from the market and won’t be disappointed. The only negative is the portions are a bit small for the price but I guess you’re paying for better quality and location. Either way you won’t be disappointed in the quality and taste!

lauryn lantela

Halibut and chips were awesome. Well the fish was. Chips are just like anything you'd get anywhere. Would love to see someone doing proper chipper chips!

I've never felt so good after eating fish & chips! The fish was fresh and not greasy at all. I can't believe I waited so long to check this place out.

Darren M

The halibut fish and chips were delicious, but the tuna sandwich and the tacos were a huuuuge disappointment. Order the fish and chips, always

Q L

Delicious, fresh fish at a reasonable price. The cod fish and chips were done perfectly, and the cone-shaped salmon and tuna tacos were amazing.

박혜린

The best place of fish and chips. Even, I took to long line but I can waited for this food.

Elm Wilson

Fish and chips are always great here. The wait times are ridiculous though so don't bother if you're in a rush.

Best fish and chips spot without the frills!

What a sweet find! We were checking out Fisherman's Wharf before heading to Granville Market and saw this place packed with people. It's a little shop with a great eating view. You place your order at one side, then wait for your name to be called and pick up your order on the other side. We happened to speak to a local afterwards and found out that locals love going to this place for some real fish and chips along with other fresh seafood dishes. The cod and chips cost $13.50 and came with 2 decent sized pieces, tartar sauce, a small coleslaw and a hefty serving of fries. They say they catch their fish on Mondays (they're closed that day) and serve the fresh fish throughout the week. This must be true because this was the best cod and chips I've ever had! It tastes noticeably different than others I've had (Jack Astor's, Pickle Barrel, Red Lobster). Their tartar sauce has a slight coconut taste which I find different but in a good way. The fries were also good. I enjoyed the coleslaw but it's not your ordinary creamy coleslaw. It was savoury and tasted like it had cumin in it. This place was so good that we came back the next day for more! This time we tried the halibut and chips for $19.50. It was just as good as the cod. That's the thing though -- it was just as good. Not worth the extra money in my opinion. I actually thought the cod had a better taste since it was slightly sweet. Overall, this was the best fish and chips I've ever had! Would definitely recommend this place. It is a steal at $13.50 all in for a delicious 2 pc cod and chips meal!

Food portions: Excellent as I can split the meal with my 93yr old mother and still be filled with a double portion. Take Out Service: Always friendly and a fairly decent turnaround giving we are all being patient with Covid. Keep Up the fine work and be safe.

Best fish and chips in the town

B. Gallego

Really good fish and chips! Halibut was too thick though, tasted like fillet. Very generous but would be better if the halibut was thinner. Cod piece was good. The proportion of batter and fish was perfect. Fries were good too!

Salty Wet Reefer

Good food, fresh fish. Coleslaw has Asian twist. Bit of a long wait but view of the harbor and fishing boats makes time go by quickly on a sunny day.

Calvin Ivy

Overrated tourist trap. Just get fried fish from any random place and seat next to the water anywhere in Granville island in the public space and you will get the same experience. Their fish tastes average at best. Limited parking. Limited seating. Apparently the usually wait time is an hour to two on summer weekends. We waited, and it was not worth the wait.

carissa pickering

Had the halibut and it was a generous amount of fish. Not too greasy or overbreaded which was perfect. Loved the chips though. So, so good.

Isabel Lind

Had the Grill Salmon Salad came with a savory Asian sauce for the chargrilled salmon and a nice dressing for the bed of fresh greens. It was nice to sit by the water and enjoy some fresh fish. Would eat again. Was really windy though and my hair kept flying in the sauce and puppys that passed by kept on trying to steal my salmon.

Chris Wong

Still tasty but the portions of fish in the fish and chips keep getting smaller and smaller every time I go there. Last time I got take out and was deeply disappointed to find the 1pc cod and and chips was not much bigger than the french fries.

Alex MP

killer fish n chips but absurdly long wait, like an hour. felt after about 20 minutes just felt like i needed to wait it out as a matter of principle. foods delicious but the line would have to be non-existent for me to go back.

James Chuang

The best fish n chips place in Vancouver! The fish was fresh and fruits were fried to perfection! It's worth paying more for the halibut fillet.
