REVIEWS OF Dockside Restaurant IN Vancouver

Discovered the hidden gem this year. My husband and I often ride in on the Sea bus-recommend as you don’t have to think about parking for a relaxing Happy Hour. He loves the beer brewed on site. Waitress Lara not only makes us feel welcome, but is knowledgeable and professional. New chef this year has done an impressive revamp on the menu, we now often stay for dinner. See you again soon Lara and team!

Jesse Millar

Absolutely perfect. From the inspired menu, the wonderful servers, hostesses and bartenders to the very chef himself. Will be back many times for sure

Ongoing tour of the best restaurants in Vancouver, Dockside is definitely in the top 5 now. Great ambiance upon entering, besides the fun location on Granville Island anyway. Fantastic views of Yaletown and False Creek from outside seating????Ordered the Pork Belly appie which was delectable, followed by the Halibut. Desert was probably the lowpoint of the experience so walk to Granville Island Market after Dinner to satisfy your sweet cravings⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The restaurant is on the expensive side, but well worth it! The service is outstanding, the food is excellent and view is unbeatable! I would definitely recommend this place to friends!

We chose the Dockside Restaurant for our anniversary dinner because we have eaten here quite a few times and the food and service had been good. Our opinions changed on the most recent visit. When the food came, my wife's rack of lamb was severely overcooked (she asked for medium-rare and it came well done). We eat out quite a bit and these things happen from time to time but it was the way it was handled. The manager came over and did something that I've never seen before, he tried to convince my wife to eat what she had been given, to which she refused and another meal was prepared for her. We ended up eating at separate times (not so romantic) and there was not so much as a glass of wine offered as a gesture of good will. It was after all our anniversary dinner and the manager knew full well of this. My meal was also sub-standard but I didn't mention it (not that it would have made a difference anyway). I had the sea bass, not realizing that fried was deep fried. The bass was over cooked as they must have left it in the deep fryer too long. The way this was handled by the manager was atrocious. All in all it was a very disappointing evening and next time we'll choose the Sand Bar or the Keg, where they still respect the customer.

Matt LeDrew

Best food I've had!! The pork chop was to die for. Sooooo much flavor it was amazing. My bf had the seafood risotto and said it was awesome. We shared the lemon creme brulee and OMG Seriously it was sooooo good. The flavor was insane. I can't say enough good things about this place. Oh and our waitress was fabulous. Very attentive but not annoyingly so. Will be back!!!

Christopher Brandt

Don't be fooled by the name. They have 4 seafood dishes. Very overpriced for the small fish portions. But nicely decorated with good views.

Jennifer Copley

Went there for a private event. Really great. Really great food and service..

Mara Trichardt

Came for drinks and brunch. The view is amazing, this is a very beautiful venue, but the food and drink was meh

Terry Figueiredo

Amazing service! The bar keep was spectacular. Thanks for java laced hugs in a mug on a cold night.

Elizabeth Wood

Great patio. Nice view across False Creek. Food is fresh and well prepared. It is a bit on the pricy side though.

Andrea Spallanzani

Best hide away spot in Vancouver. Love the setting, outdoor patio a must. I have not tried the dinner but have never been disappointed with the lunch menus. Their locally brewed beers are worth while.

Paul Andrew Rossi

Dockside is nicely tucked away inside the Grandville island hotel on the less traveled side of the island. It is rare to find a restaurant with a patio that doesn't face traffic, and that is its charm. The food was very delicious and the service and venue demands a few extra dollars but it is worth it. I found the menu to be fairly basic, and would have liked to see more sandwich options. There is also no kids menu. No complains, just worth noting.

Nice view. The brunch is the best. Their desserts are impressive. However, the food ingredients in pasta dishes are disappointing.

This place popped up in my recommendation page, and I decided to try it out since it looked really pretty from the pictures. When I had arrived, I was a little disappointed that I wasn't able to sit closer to the windows (where the view was) as the restaurant was completely empty. I was also not very pleased with the service that I had. The staff didn't seem that friendly. Lastly, I had ordered the short rib and I had thought that their food was average. Not worth the price.

Eduardo Soares

What a gem! The food was so delicious! The pork belly and bone marrow are must haves. The service was really great and the view and atmosphere is just lovely. Make sure to book a reso they are quite busy! Bathrooms weren't the cleanest though which was unexpected for such a nice restaurant.

We were staying at the Granville Island Hotel for 2 nites and at the restaurant to celebrate my wife's Birthday. We enjoyed the setting and the entres were very good.., but the Nero Caesar salad of kale was too vinegary and sharp to the taste. The service was mediocre and we were a little taken aback when the waitress couldn't take a picture of the 2 of us...per management's rules re Covid. Thought that strange since we all handled the menus, wine cards, plates etc and the credit card machine when it came time to pay..but not a camera..?? Weird. Anyway, we couldn't fit in any dessert, so all we got was a Happy birthday to my wife as we left. Usually a restaurant does a little something...but the manager too, wasnt very accommodating. We were planning on coming back for a nightcap but decided to go to another restaurant were we had lunch and where a photo was taken of us by the waiter. So much for our Birthday dinner at the Dockside.

Kenneth Phua

What's not to love about Dockside? Nothing!!! As locals, this is a regular destination for our household, and we invariably meet visitors at this restaurant. The food is great, even for me, a hard core and hard to please vegetarian. The staff is friendly and consistent. I just hope we can continue to enjoy complementary parking om Granville Island .... there are rumours. Please tell me it ain't so?

J Tsang

Passable food, apathetic service, especially for groups because they know there is going to be a service charge.

Tim Brandsma

Great service, nice view, tad pricey but it covers the ambiance.

Andrea Papp

Unique happy hour appetizers. Excellent tasting. Big Mac spring rolls and deep fried mac and cheese. Awesome service and the view of the harbour great

Sharilyn Erickson

The food here is amazing. Felt safe as far as Covid restrictions. View is great. There are tiny little mice though on the outside patio area. Not super bothersome.....so small you may not even see them. Fave dishes : Kale ceaser, Risotto, brownie dessert

Risa Lebourg

10/10 would recommend… that you spend your money somewhere else. My family and I (4) came here last night for a birthday dinner. We were extremely disappointed. We had a reservation for 5:15 on the patio. We are not high maintenance and we don’t expect the world, but I’ve had better service from a Tim Hortons drive-thru. We were seated then waited 25 minutes until I found a manager. We had our water filled twice during that time and multiple servers walk past us. Not one person said welcome to us, not even the water-guy who only said “would you like water?” No Hi, no your server will be with you, nothing. I then walked over to a young manager in a light grey suit. HE PROMISED he would be over immediately to take our drink order. We waited another 7 minutes then our server finally came. It is noteworthy that he was one of the servers who walked and stood by us multiple times. HE took our food and drink order, NOT the manager who promised to do so. We then waited 10 minutes for drinks. Don’t you think that if you had a table that waited for 30 minutes you would rush their drink orders? The appetizers were good; the food was okay but not really that amazing for the price. We unfortunately had another issue with food. I ordered the Twin Rivers Tenderloin medium-rare. When I received my steak, it was medium/well-done and so dry and chewy. When we finally managed to flag down our server, who by the way, never asked us how our food was, he sent it back. He then proceeded to say after that “The steak was actually cooked perfectly. We use an internal thermometer to measure the temperature. Due to the NATURAL LIGHTING out here, it looks grey.” WHAT?? Are you kidding me? I know what a medium-rare steak is. I know he is just the server and that probably the manager or a cook told him that. The second steak that came out WAS cooked correctly. When the bill came, we received no discount or apology for the service. I was not expecting a discount but at least an apology from a manager or something. The manager never came over to check on us after our 25 minute complaint nor after the steak was sent back. We will not come back. The only reason I believe Dockside is still open, is for the location and view.

Matias was an amazing server/bartender at the Wine Tasting today! He totally made our night! Thanks!! - Nancy and chris

Shannon Muir

Friendly & good service. Nice setting. Views are really good. Food was not great. There was no difference in flavours from my truffle gnocchi to my squash risotto. Over-powering garlic & pepper. I personally find that a cop-out. Not worth the money that they were charging. A place to go for cocktails on the patio in the summer vs. dinner in the winter.

Dorothy Hawes

Truly awful service. They ignored our reservation for the patio, the hostess was so so rude, the service slow and the food was terrible. Don't be fooled by the fancy patio, this place is not worth your time or your money.

Great patio view and excellent Mac and cheese. We also ordered the s’mores at the end and had a little campfire at the table.

This is located in a super nice area within Granville Island with a nice view and romantic setting. The staff are super nice and accommodating. A lot of options on the menu, great tasting food. Its a higher end restaurant so its pricey. I really enjoyed dininge here with friends - also a great place for ramantic dining.

Kris MH

Love it. Even just for drinks on the patio.

Dave Kovach

Good desert and view.

Sarah Woods

Nice ambience and good service. Our server was great and was happy to recommend vegan options. Prices for drinks aren't crazy high considering how hyped this place is. Would highly recommend their hummus and pita bread combo. Good times were had and would highly recommend the place.

Lin Cong

Delicious food, great value, lovely staff and servers, most stunning view and ambiance.

Melissa Smith

Best patio in Vancouver hands down. Food is OK.

Nancy Deen

Very interesting and delicious menu

Cardster

1 star for the view and nice furniture. Ordered and watch everyone walk by my order on the bar for about 10 min. Just about got up to go get it myself. Server then brings my drinks on a tray with dirty glasses. If I get covid I'm coming back for a refund.

Logan Magnan

Amazing food great service and beautiful view had a great experience

Kirsten Scoffield

Great to get out again and enjoy a restaurant!

Sophie Tsai

Nicole who is supposedly the General Manager was super rude to my boyfriend after dessert and ruined our entire day. I am ashamed that I gave them my money and will be disputing the charge (yes, it was that bad). No wonder this restaurant has only 3.9 stars on Yelp. Save your self the hate crime and avoid.

Shaun Jackman

The area the food the set and the view. All is perfect.

howard schmitt

Came here after a friend got engaged. Great service! I really enjoyed it. Nice view by the water.

Lenise Fitzpatrick

Had dinner early on a Thursday evening. The server was friendly and efficient. Our caesar salads borderline on the best ever! Our entrees were excellent. The service was fast. We will be back!

B W

I love this place for its delicious food and good atmosphere. Thanks!

Robbie Sharda

It was a beautiful day. The location is so nice and relaxing. I would go once a week just to relax while having lunch. The food was good, the portions were good too. The 3 of us were happy with what we ordered. The service was half half. The server I think forgot us. She was late on us few times. The service was ok but not great. Would I go back? Yes I would give it another try. I enjoyed my lunch for sure.

On the Island and went in for Happy Hour for a snack and drink with my husband after a long day. The view, the service and the drinks made us stay for dinner. Service was exceptional. My husband has food allergies and our server Lara was able to help him select with care. Very, very friendly knowledgeable and professional. She was a gem and very patient with our many questions. Great spot for special occasions, or if you want to impress guests. Food is above average but view, ambiance and service knock it out of the park.

Jonathan Bridges

We came in for a happy hour snack on Monday and decided to stay for dinner because our waitress Lara told us all Bottles of BC wine are half price every Monday. I had many questions to select the perfect bottle for my friends, and she was more knowledgeable than one would hope and we ended up enjoying three bottles on a Monday and had a great time. Ciopinno and lamb were perfection big compliments to the chef. We will be back for chefs summer creations and more wine nights with Lara and the perfect view from the patio.! Fantastic food and one of or the best service in the city.

Aly Sunderji

This restaurant was so good that my wife and I got married here. The best staff, amazing menu, the restaurant and lounge are classy, modern and elegant with sweeping city, ocean and harbor views. Shout out to Mark who helped us organize our wedding!

Ian Gendur

I have been here a few times and it's very mediocre. They do have a really nice patio but the food is just okay and service is alright but nothing in particular to write about. Had a couple beers and they weren't that great either. They were not really cold and the Jamaican lager tasted like raspberry iced tea mixed with a Budweiser -- not yummy. I like the atmosphere there though and with an entertainment coupon it's not bad.

Bryan Kent

Super friendly staff and great food! My first stop in Vancouver on the way to Whistler.

Tyler Tamplen

Wow! Every morsel was a taste experience. Service was excellent, even when the restaurant got busy.

Carolyn Swannell

One of the nicest outside patios overlooking false creek, to show of Vancouver sites.

Thomas Donker

It was an awesome time, food and view were impeccable

This place is amazing. I purposed to my Finance here this year. Its one of her favorite places and has become one of mine too. We will always have one of our greatest memories here.

We went for dine out and the food was pretty delicious. Our server was super friendly and nice. There are really nice views if you get a spot by the window. They brew their own beer and it's fairly good!

Steve Rautenbach

Best meal while vacationing in Vancouver. Recommend cioppino and halibut with delicious! cauliflower purée for seafood lovers. They have a new chef, the food was something to write home about. Prime rib was a hit for my parents. Our waitress Lara was engaging and catered to our every need and enhanced the night for all. Professional and friendly service all around. Great wine recommendations and we all had a ball !

Alex Parsons

Great patio and food is decent. Their Sangria is one of the best I've tried in Vancouver. I love coming back here on a sunny day.

I am conflicted in writing this review as our service was 5/5 stars and the food was delicious. I ordered the mac and cheese and my friends had the frittata, avocado toast and rueben hash - all of the dishes were wonderful. HOWEVER, our experience was tarnished by many extremely rude hostesses one of which who's name was Aisha (unsure how to spell it) We had made reservations weeks in advance as we were celebrating a very special occasion. When we were seated we got placed at a couch table that was lovely. However we quickly discovered that we would not be able to eat there, when we asked to move to a table as we had intended on eating the hostess was extremely rude with her replies and saying that they could not accommodate us. If someone had told us ahead of time that we would not be able to order food we would have waited for a table instead of taking the couch. After quite a bit of back and forth banter she found us a table and rolled her eyes while seating the four of us. It put a horrible taste in our mouth for the rest of the morning as we were hoping to enjoy a special day. If it wasn't for our wonderful server from Paris the morning would have been ruined. He was polite, professional and extremely apologetic about the incident that had nothing to do with him. He should not have had to overcompensate for his rude staffs behaviour. He was an absolute delight and such a kind, genuine person and the only reason I would consider returning to this establishment. He should teach a course on professionalism to the rest of the staff.

Michael Moores

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience last night at Dockside. We went there to celebrate my Mom's 80th birthday, and it is a beautiful location. However, the service was pretty poor, and I'm not one to get too fussed about service. We sat down, and waited for our waiter. After about 15 minutes of seeing staff walking around us, we finally had to ask another waiter where our waiter was... the restaurant was half empty. Once the waiter (who wasn't even the waiter for our table) took our order, no one came by to see if we needed anything, drinks, etc... we did have someone filling our water glasses, but didn't ask about anything else, and we waited and waited... my father, who is the most jovial of people started kidding that we should go to MacDonald's because the chef was on vacation, then to wake him up when the food arrived.... then someone came by and put down some cutlery on our table. How sad is it that I wasn't even sure he was our waiter! When the food finally arrived (I finally asked how much longer our food was going to be because it was probably a good 40 mins. after we finished our appetisers). The food was ok, not spectacular. If I were to critique it, my brother's Thai Bouillabaisse barely had any seafood in it, mostly broth, and my mom and I ordered the prime rib and the yorkshire pudding was burnt. Essentially, the amazing view is not enough to compensate for the mediocre food or poor disconnected service. My husband finally had enough with us being ignored as he watched the some of staff standing at the bar watching the football game for 15 minutes. He went over and asked for the manager. In telling him about the lack of service we were getting, the manager told him we were the only people complaining. Seriously? This is his thinking? What's the quota before it means something? 4 tables? 6 tables?.... My suggestion is to go some place else - Vancouver has way better restaurants and service. The staff and manager at Dockside are unfortunately indifferent to your experience.

Arin Zandbergen

Absolutely the best food on the island! The food was perfection--one of us had the delectable salmon (cooked to perfection!), and the other had the lobster pasta (outstanding!), as well as the most delicious "apple pie-like" desert on the planet!!!! We HIGHLY recommend this restaurant and we will be back for more!!! Last, but most definitely not least, our serve, John, was superb!!! I wish I could give everything here ten stars!!!

Sid

The waitress we had was awesome! I think her name was Lori not too sure but if it was the owner needs to give her a raise. The seafood was awesome, the clam chowder was UHHH MAAZZING and I will come back just to get another bowl of that. The over all experience was great and I love good seafood, I will definitely keep coming back whenever I am in town. I wish I could go tomorrow but I am unable to get their due to a busy schedule but I would if I could.

Cloe

I came here around the beginning of September and it was a lovely time! The food was delicious, the service was awesome. I really really loved our server and I wished I remembered her name but she was seriously awesome. I made reservations for the patio but unfortunately it was raining but we still got a nice spot in the Dinning room.

Paul Rondeau

Great sea food, super tender pork chop, our server was fantastic, and amazing orange creme brulee

Alaleh Black

Pricy and slow service food was good

Elliot Gluck

We had a wonderful time. It was busy and slow but the food made up for it. Highly recommended.

Elsy Chow

We brought a few guests from out of town. Highlights were legendary squid, fisherman's pot, and coconut cheesecake (you must try). Service was phenomenal, waitress Lara was on top of everything for our long night, with perfect recommendations from the first bottle of wine to the last taste of port and everything in between. The perfectly cooked and presented dishes and the knowledgeable and friendly service impressed our guests. The view of false creek is unbeatable.

Fardad Moayeri

Atmosphere was amazing and view was perfect

Will Leung

Amazing experience. The restaurant is decorated beautifully for the holidays and adds to the already impressive room (great view).Duck breast was to die for with Brie perogies and my wife loved her seafood risotto. Most exceptional service from waitress, Lara. Top notch suggestions including wines and cocktails. We were very impressed by how knowledgeable, expedient and friendly she was. Lara really made our evening relaxing and special and went above and beyond. There is having a meal and having a true dining experience and this restaurant knows the difference. Must try the cheesecake for dessert, you won't regret it. We will return in the New Year.

Trish Gregg

Beautiful patio atmosphere! Food dishes full of flavor. Great service. A must.

Rene Picard

Had my 60 Birthday dinner here. Enjoyed every bite...Excellent !!

Ricky raad

Nice atmosphere good food. I gave 4 stars. The food was tasty but they didn't have in-house made jams & jellys.

Jamie Huang

Booked a table weeks in advance, only to wait 30mins with no one following up on us and when we went up to inquire the situation, were told our table was being set up, but 20 minutes later same answer, and this is a Monday. There are lots of good eats around the area, we left our presumed reservation and had much more enjoyed ourselves elsewhere.

Devin Jones

Delicious food, gorgeous view.

Cole Campbell

The service and atmosphere was superb here. Food and drinks were a tag pricey for what you get, but I guess the views make up for it. Would recommend to visitors when they come to Granville island.

Wendy Kern

Great food, great patio, and great service. ????

Andrew Jones-Murrell

Really enjoyed my time here. The waitress was super nice. Our plates were fast. We came for Happy hour on thanksgiving day, not too busy afternoon. But will be happy to come back to try more dishes.

Jordan S

I can say the restaurant has a good chef, the dishes were great but hosts so unprofessional and not polite. The view from the patio area is good ????

Chanelle Dupre

We have been here during Valentine's Day special dinner and it was simply amazing. Food is really high quality(not top quality). Price was a bit expensive but it was a special dinner 3 course meal, so I knew it before going there. Also, I want to mention the head waiter(couldn't get his name) for his excellence at service. He reminded me the professional servers back in the day rather than amateur college studens. Would recommend.

Matt Clarke

Beautiful spot right on the water, but for the prices the food was small in portion and low in quality. Service was ok, drinks decent but nothing special. Expected some decent drinks and nice food, left pretty disappointed.

-Annette- Tatum

There is no brewery, no beer on tap. Only brunch on the weekends. Food is mediocre and over priced. Very nice atmosphere though.

David Maurice

The best patio in Vancouver hands down! Amazing food and atmosphere!

Ali Mehrizi

The food, outdoor décor and city views are one of my favourites in town. I suppose it's becoming a common practice and this is announced when you make reservations, keep in mind they have a pretty hard stance on a max 2-hour dining limit upon arrival.

Darwin Barcellano

We went for Father's Day to celebrate a first-time father and have our first dine out since COVID and have to say the location is beautiful, the food is great and the front staff were friendly. We sat in the far left corner near the water and loved it. However, our server was horrible. I've never patroned a restaurant and received service worse than I'd receive at a fast food chain. She was not attentive, did not refill our waters or ask if we wanted a second round of drinks, gave snarky comments with attitude to my wife when she requested to order early - she also had to get up and flag her down, did not check if our meals were prepared to our liking which is necessary when serving steak, did not take our dirty plates away, or even ask if we had any specific needs since we brought our little well-behaved baby. The service was pathetic. Just horrible. I hope this was a one-off occurrence, but judging by other reviews, it is not. We will not be returning nor recommending Dockside. There are just too many restaurants that offer better service who need patrons. Post COVID, patrons should have zero tolerance for sub-par service.

Anita Pratt

Can't believe Dockside just called to tell me THEY cancelled my reservation. Shame I already sent out invitations for this holiday dinner/party. Bad form!

Peter Arth

I been here with my friends last time and we enjoyed with the sunset view, Very friendly staff.

Melody Monro

Nicole, who is the highest manager, YELLED and SCOLDED at my mother for not having a picture on her ID card. This was absolutely brutal. She didn't even care enough to apologise despite me reaching out several times over the course of 3 weeks. She intentionally ignored us. Truly a disaster of a restaurant Service was absolutely AWFUL and ruined such a beautiful experience. My first server bailed on me for no reason. The second server Alan said he was going home for the night but he didn't go anywhere and continued serving one table away from me. Alan totally forgot about me and was pouring the table next wine but didn't bother pouring a glass of water for me when I ordered a 3 course meal and kept calling me "bro".

Kyle Christiansen

Service was great and so are the views, food was only ok. Went for breakfast, pretty limited options but overall a nice meal

Their patio and the view from the patio are fantastic. We really enjoyed sitting on the couch watching the boats and kayaks going by with the beautiful backdrop of the downtown view. However, their service was pretty bad. Our server was great and friendly, but 4 staff members who came over to take our plates away and one who made a mistake and almost served other people's food, they had terrible attitudes. Most of them looked extremely exhausted and unmotivated (it was not the hottest day by the way. If it were, I would bring more understanding and sympathy..). They had no smiles and looked as if they did not want to be there. They were walking like zombies.. And the staff member who made the mistake, rolled his eyes and did not say anything and just walked away when we told them what he had wasn't ours because we already received our food earlier. I don't think we said it rudely either... I was shocked by their rudeness to be honest. What a shame, their restaurant and the location are amazing so I would love to go there again, but I do no want to experience that type of service again. However I do want to mention, we saw we think are their manager training a staff member, and he looked patient and kind. And again, the view makes everything much more forgivable. The food is alright. My husband ordered the burger and he said it was amazing. I ordered shrimp toast, and it was great as well. Their salad wasn't so fresh with some discoloured vegetables. But overall the food was probably 4 out of 5.

Alexandra Santangelo

Great location, good food, table service mostly attentive but totally lacking in filling up water or bringing requested ice. I didn't appreciate the loud person who interrupted the table to pick up plates, is it necessary to pick up plates one by one before the entire table is finished?

Sina Doroudgar

My wife and I went for a great dinner on Saturday at Dockside. We both shared a delicious Caesar salad. What was best about it was the pancetta instead of bacon and an abundance of quality parmesan cheese. She had the salmon which had a ton of flavour with the seafood risotto. I had a fantastic prime rib and we finished it off with the trifle for desert. Well recommended and we will be back.

Stefan Semunovic

The view of the water and hatches, even from inside. Brandon was a fun pro as our server. Food was yummy especially the Pesto Baked Brie.

Txomin Hermosilla

Dockside was recommended by our conceirge and they absolutely delivered. The food was sublime and our waitress Lara accommodated everyone and everything we could possibly ask for. Our guests from Greece were impressed. The view is gorgeous and the service friendly and professional. Thank you for a five star experience Dockside. Yamas!

Elaine Foo

Beautiful setting and our waiter, although very busy was friendly and pleasant.

Came here for dinner and expected to have amazing food for the price. The view of the bay was amazing but left a little bit disappointed. The appetizers were very good but when I got to the main course which I ordered a linguini pasta I found that the sauce it was very rich. It might have been what it was supposed to taste like but it was just too rich for me. Overall I would say that the restaurant was pricey with good food.

Tam H

Looks like the restaurant is under new management - same killer views but now with better food and service. Been 3 times in the last couple months. They gave our kids some free toys from the hotel gift shop the time we took them which I thought was a nice touch and very kind.

Kayla Tipping

Incredible experience at Dockside restaurant thanks to Mariah! Mariah took care of us and was extremely accommodating to any and all of our requests. The views at this place are amazing and the food is even better. 100% Recommend ✅✅✅✅✅

Beautiful patio with marina views. The seafood selection is great, salmon was perfect. This is a gem in Granville Island. Highly recommend!

W G

The location is wonderful, the view is fantastic and the patio is perfect. I had s chicken Cobb salad that was really good, but I found it to be a little pricy for what I got. Service was impeccable and attentive.

William Ness

Food was superb and our waiter Patrick could not of been more attentive.

Ally Gordon

Nice food. Beautiful view. Expensive wines.

Terzah Horton

Great view from the patio. Just be sure you like your table before you even sit down. Once you do you cant change even if you have done nothing else. If you ask you may be officially told you should have read the policy posted near the door. Who does that? Rather put me off the start of my first time there.

Afshin Doust

Nice location at the Granville Island, great food as always and the service staff is professional and very accommodating and take care of you. Be aware that they automatically add 18% gratuity for large groups but they will let you know in advance when you make the reservation. Happy that their Sunday brunch is back

Andy Aras

Went to Dockside for a birthday dinner, loved the view and ambiance. Very bad service, had to ask for everything we needed, took a long time for her to take our order, although our server only appeared to have 3 tables of 2 people. We were at a table of 7. Food was awesome, would definitely go back and ensure that our server understands our previous concerns.

Miann Fong

"mediocrity at its finest" This is the feeling I got after having dinner there last night. It was a Saturday night and the restaurant was quiet. When we arrived, we saw many waiters, but the service was very very slow. The food is pretentious, extremely overpriced and truly bland. The location is obviously wonderful, but for what you pay here there are much better options in this city.

Will Anderson

The food was incredibly delicious, and the service excellent.

Rita Yacyshyn

I've worked in a ton of high end restaurants myself, so I can be pretty critical when it comes to service and food when dining out. I'm recovering from a concussion and phoned ahead to notify them, and while they weren't able to secure a table in advance that was quiet, they were quite accommodating when we arrived. Initially we were offered a seat in the middle of the room but when I asked for one by a window / wall for it to be quieter for my head, the manager Richelin jumped on it and sanitized one for us immediately. Sadly, it was still too loud / echoey for my head, so Lara who was to be our server said she'd get us a table outside. I was worried it would still be loud, but it was quieter out there, and we were put at a high-top table that made us feel like we were on our own little island (we were offered a choice of tables but it was suggested - correctly- that this would be the quietest). I was impressed by their willingness to accommodate as initially a hostess reacted to my request by saying that once sat, we could not move (understandably, due to health regulations re: covid) but of course that put me in a tricky position b/c I wouldn't know until I sat somewhere how it would affect my head, so it was either try to move, or leave. In any case, she had asked the manager and the new seats we were offered were quiet, peaceful, and we were able to enjoy the restaurant, service and the food. I ordered the humboldt squid, which was, as Lara said it would be, almost a melt in your mouth type consistency - very tasty, and I'll eagerly have it again. Our wine was tasty; they have a nice New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc by the glass that both my friend and I ordered - not my favorite, but definitely a great region and beats any local SB's that are usually offered by the glass. The dessert was the topper - our server Jules (who was great as well - upbeat, friendly, professional) recommended the carrot cake, which my friend had (and we both loved), and I chose to have the to-die-for chocolate brownie; it was really rich but amazing - had coconut in it, was served warm - crisp on top, soft inside with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. Just incredible. We wanted to have an appy as well but in the end were glad we didn't. My friend had the ribs which filled her up to the rim, and she took some leftovers home to boot, and the dessert for me was almost too much to finish. In any case, a lovely evening (and quiet - thank you!), and memorable birthday celebration. I loved how the manager never once treated us like we were imposing, or being high maintenance, as I've seen before (even in restaurants I've worked at unfortunately), especially when an added medical condition meant more sterilizing for them as we moved around. Thank you so much - I will definitely recommend this place!

Food is always fabulous, service is great and the patio is lovely. The menu was pared down due to Covid but there’s still great gf options.

Hunter Rodgers

View is nice and the service is lovely but the food is below my expectations for their prices. I personally felt ripped off at their veggie hash being 90% potato and a token tomato for $18. If you're looking for brunch, I suggest you look else where unless you have to have the view.

Mike Em

Disappointing - we usually have one of their pizzas for lunch. To-day May 22 after checking with the waitress re size of fish in each piece and quantity of batter, we ordered fish and chips. BIG MISTAKE - Way too much batter, a sliver of fish inside and antique chips - old, cold and limp!. I definitely would not recommend "Fish & Chips"! ! !

Salma H

I have been here many times and each time I visit I am met with great food and outstanding service, and to top it off you have a nice view when sitting outside, one of my favourite spots in Vancouver!

Amazing!

A beautiful spacious restaurant. Great views of False Creek. Excellent food and it takes reservations. Especially good for brunches on Granville Island.

Decent food but nothing to rave about. Big selling feature is the amazing patio.

Randy Vancouver

The beers were excellent, the view was amazing, and the food was very good. Would definitely recommend this to friends. It's too bad they don't bottle their beer.

Marguerite Gobeil

we just got back from brunch there... Rude staff that is extremely unacomedating. one guest in our party had to order take out from another restaurant since they could not make an egg white omlette... another guest had ordered fish and chips.. fish was previously frozen and it was extremely greasy... fries were from the end of a bag when its all tiny fries, crumbs, and other junk. we sat outside so the ambience was quite nice. best thing on their menu was the water.

Jon McCullough

Friendly staff and decent food. Went here for a wedding and the service was great! Beautiful view as well.

Yahel J

My husband and I had a great date night at Dockside.

Anthony

I lost my wallet. With all my IDs but I have the vaccine paasport and a picture of my ID with it. With other restaurants they accept vaxx pass and picture of Id saved on phone. Very inconsiderate restaurant.I will be never going back here again. You guys just turned potentail customers away. And you even had the audacity to tell us you turned down 7 people today with the same case wow. Some management you got there. You guys are a joke.

Ginny Phillips Allen

Great patio. The hash and shrimp toast tasted good.

Amy Liang

Service was lacking from the moment we interacted with the hostess. Asked to be seated at a different table by the fire due to the weather being a bit chilly. The hostess stepped away to check if the table was available, which felt like an eternity. She just left us awkwardly standing there. The service from the waitress was no better. We watched her take orders from other tables that arrived later, which infuriated me. The food took forever to arrive and when it did, it was subpar. Upon settling the bill, the waitress smacks the check book on the table, without saying a word and walks away. I held my tongue throughout the entire dinner which I shouldn't have, but I figured I was going to leave a review anyways. I have never left an establishment this disappointed.

brad zdanivsky

We had a lovely lunch on the patio today. Our server Cora was fabulous and her professional, friendly service was appreciated. The kale chop chop salad I had was fresh and tasty, and the beer was good too!

Konstantin Baishev

Not really into fine dining (small portions and cost) but this place was alright. Their lamb dish was quite good and so were their desserts. Worth checking out for a special occasion.

Shane Birley

On vacation tried this week. The food was okay but overpriced and for that price we want good service. Our dishes did not arrive together which was awkward and no apology from our own waiter. Our waiter seems to busy with another table which was obvious. He was distracted and it put us off. A lady helped us after we felt ignored by him but still no apology from him the waiter or the manager. He was kind but Better restaurants in downtown.

Maret Christiansen

Excellent view, Food has always been fantastic and the drinks we ordered from the bar were excellent! I have gone here three times and have loved it! Can`t wait for my wife to try it when we come to the area for a cruise next September!

Rochelle Truscott

I have lived in the GVRD for 34 years, I've wanted to come here for years but I've never made it out until now. What a great experience! It was quiet a relaxing atmosphere, you're able to watch the water traffic and enjoy the sun. The waiters were attentive but not in your face. I saw a very wholesome interaction between two staff members, they were courteous with each other and the guests. It really shows the nature of the staff when they're taking the time to check on eachother and new staff members during service peak hours. I had the Spanish coffee, it was quite nice. Not a coffee where you focus on the coffee but it wasn't too sweet, the alcohol was strong but not overpowering. It was a nice birthday brunch beverage! I had the steak and eggs for breakfast. I had asked for medium rare, it was slightly overcooked, closer to medium but still really good. The poached eggs were a perfect medium as requested. I did need salt but as a whole it was a really yummy breakfast. I'll be back, the was so many things on the menu I wanted to try, it was hard picking!

Neil Allen

Great views from the patio, excellent service. Very delicious food. They were serving smore desserts and bring a little fire pot to ur table to roast the marshmallows, very fun and creative.

Cecilia Crosby

Get ready to wait over an hour for your mediocre food. No incentives given, no customer service. Would not recommend to be honest.

Pey

Awesome patio and lounge. Food is good and reasonably priced. Large wine and cocktail selection. The one thing to stay away from is their in house beer. It is consistently bad.Everytime I try it hoping it gets better, but it never does. They either need to get a new Brewmaster or stop brewing entirely and provide better beer from the many local breweries in Vancouver. Really my star rating is mostly based on the beer. If you don't like beer, you're good to go!

W

Went here for a wedding dinner a week ago. The only good thing about the restaurant is the view and it’s all downhill from there. The servers were rude when we were just shifting one seat over within our table due to one of the seats being in the aisle and was constantly bumped into and there was an empty seat at our table. The server told us “stay in your seat because we need to serve the dishes to the right person”. Told her we were just shifting one seat over so she could’ve just shift the dishes being served. Shut up immediately but gave us a dirty stare. Timing between appetizer and entree was long( close to an hour). Food was mediocre and steaks were ALL medium with no choice. Servers would place dishes whichever way they please despite having a few children seated at our table. Would I consider the restaurant for a regular brunch/ lunch, perhaps but not a chance for any event or reception.

Lies Veldeman

Food was delicious, had the lamb. Wait staff didn't seem very welcoming as compared to many other restaurants in the Vancouver area. However, the hostess was very welcoming.

mitch davis

Great place for happy hour. Especially Spring, Summer, and Fall when the patio is open. Free parking each day after 6 pm

Paul Tufts

Even on a rainy day, the view is spectacular. We both had the beef ribs special and it was yummy. Our server was great. This restaurant is one of my favorite places.

Jennie Yan

Very impressed. The concierge at the Fairmont we stayed at suggested dockside. We have been to Vancouver many times and had not been to dockside. The room is beautiful, we did not have a reservation but were seated right away. We may not have been so lucky on a weekend although the restaurant is large and they have a large outdoor patio. My wife was chilly and was immediately offered a blanket. Our friendly and engaging waitress Lara guided us through the wine list and helped us select a Burrowing Owl Cabernet Franc, the vintage was one we had not had for some time and my wife and I were both thoroughly impressed by the knowledge and professionalism with the wine selection. We are wine addiciandos and were happy to have someone answer our questions and find the perfect wine to pair with both our meals on a somewhat limited list and take our taste in to account. First restaurant on the trip where we were able to have a conversation with our waiter about tannins and nose, thank you Lara you went above and beyond With your pleasant demeanour and answering our many tourism and activity questions. Fisherman's pot for me and succulent prime rib for my wife. Compliments to the chef. Both were superb. My wife's prime rib was cooked to perfection. It was a perfect evening and we will be back next time we visit. Five stars all around for dockside.

Matt

Big open space felt very clean and safe. Staff are professional and adhering to all safety protocols. Food was lovely, cool music, and a great view !

Sassy Lassie Michelle Ball LaPlace

Poor service We usually go to the Dockside after dragonboating. It is a beautiful restaurant and great views of the water. Service is slow and prices are a bit high but typical for the island. The menu selection is a bit limited. This Saturday we went there asked for a table for 8 and basically was just told "NO". No sorry we have an event, No we can seat you in a hour. Basically, they were totally disinterested in serving us. Hostesses were very rude. I'll admit we weren't dressed up but I still expected polite attitudes when telling us there was no table available. Guess we will be having our weekly lunches for 8 elsewhere on the island.

Jina Nam

we been here couple times , but this time was so disappointed. The front desk host was very rude and stupid . with lots empty table inside , she let us to come back 15 minutes for no reason! when we requested a different table due to the direct sun by the window , we felt extremely hot, She was not allow to let us switch a table and saying because covid-19 situation( so why all the staffs did not wear mask at work if they concern) . we will not be back, so many restaurant that offer better service. the service at dockside just horrible.

Kashan khan

We saw a coupon on entertainment book and decided to try this restaurant out. The food of this restaurant is delious. We sat outside in the patio and the view is nice. We order a chilli squid for appy, smoke salmon penne & roasted ling cod with jumbo prawn. The texture of the squid is interesting, crispy on the outside but very soft squid on the inside. But the taste is kind of plain. The smoke salmon penne is so delicious. I added salted prawns to it as well. The prawns are a little too salty for me. The ling cod is very fresh and the jumbo prawn is huge.

Jayson Henkel

I had the most horrible experience with the hostess at the front. Rude, aggressive and non accommodating.

Shiv Gill

One of my all time favourite places in Vancouver....so peaceful, great food and a varied menu, sangria is fabulous and the service is unrushed and friendly....staring out at the boats and the harbour on a sunny day - can't be beat!

Hamed Mansouri

An awesome view of the marina and city from our window table with fast attentive service. Pricy but definitely worth it.

Food was fine but nothing special. It was so expensive. For part of our meal we shared an appetizer, it was $19 and consisted of 3 small baguette slices with goat cheese and some greens and cherry tomatoes. It was tiny, and nothing to wrote home about. I would suspect something of that size to cost less than ten dollars. The location is beautiful and the staff was very nice and courteous, however I wouldn't recommend it.

Sandy B

One of the most beautiful patios in the city to have brunch on. The food was good and service was friendly and efficient. If it makes a difference, most of the staff were no longer wearing masks.

Izabelle Elias

Amazing!!!! Can’t believe how good the food is, whether it’s lunch or dinner I’ve never been disappointed. As a bonus they have a amazing tiramisu and whiskey sour !

Bev S

One of the best restaurant in Granville Island! Lovely view and decor with a fantastic menu that is changed up frequently for variety. Best for brunch or lunch as dinner menu seems a bit limited (no hamburger at dinner!) Great selection of beers too.

ter tain

Absolutely fantastic experience. Laurie was a great server. Happy hour food was delicious and priced fairly well. The view is worth it alone to come and dine here.

Saul Andersen (FoodieCabbie)

Good service. Nice view of False Creek. Food is good. If there is some seasonal fresh seafood selection, that would even better.

Melanie Y

It was a very nice place, service was more than perfect. Food was awesome. A walk on the dockside before and after dinner was a nice added touch.

Faranak Miraghaee

Great views and amazing food. Servers are super friendly. The only disappointing thing was that during the weekend, they ONLY serve brunch menu until 2. Not that I’m complaining tho cause the brunch was phenomenal.

Lara Yliruusi

This restaurant is a staple for us whenever we visit Vancouver. It has THE best tuna poke I have ever tried. Also, the chili lemongrass squid dish is out of this world.

Ran Bi

Sat in lounge area by open sliding doors on a beautiful sunny evening. Great atmosphere but the patio is east facing so no sun in the evening - which is great during a warm evening. The service started out great but seem to deflate as the evening went on. It took over 20 mins for dessert to arrive and it wasn't even hot. The food in general is fresh and tasty. I added both chicken and steak to my salad at an extra cost.

Joe Cheng

Dinner here gives you an amazing view of the harbor. Sit as close to the windows as you can. The food was amazing as well, very fresh and cooked perfectly. The portions are huge on some of the dishes and small on the others, but our group of 4 got filled up.

James Hickey

Wow what a view and the food and service were excellent

Jessie Sandhu-Goyel

I love this place. The view is stunning, the service and the menus are great.

Nav S

The lunch was wonderful!, the service excellent and the view was amazing!

Charles Johnson

Patio is incredible. Service was good but food was weak. Pasta was watery like soup and flavorless. The "on tap" selection of beers weren't working so we ordered other drinks. Fortunately it was not too busy. The views and patio made up for the food.

Matthew Smithdeal

The bartender and the bar manager were tremendous! However we were"not allowed" to even take our drinks out to the patio ( which was the whole reason we stopped in). Big signs saying "Voted Best Patio". When we asked, we were told it rained ( we were local all day, there was a 10 minute sprinkle about 3 hours prior) earlier so they closed the patio down for the rest of the night. Most of the tables and chairs were dry, but locked up with cables. There were some long tables with chairs, totally dry, right outside the bar. We said we would get our own drinks, and just wanted to sit there for the view. We were told no, we could either sit at the bar, or take our drinks back to our room.

Christine Unterthiner

I went to the dockside restaurant and was met by excellent food and service. Only complaint is that they fill the water to the brim of the cup, so often it would spill over.

Jennifer Chu

Nice view, beautiful patio. Servers seemed preoccupied even when at our table. Ordered the Tuna salad and French toast. Tuna salad was lacking any real flavour. Couldn't get any taste of the dressing it just tasted like lettuce and tuna. I didn't finish it as I felt I could make something better at home. The French toast was better but overall the food was meh. I would recommend coming for patio drinks and views if you like to try this place out.

Roland Haynes

Excellent. Our waitress Cheri was professional. The hostess could be more communicative.

Shawn H

Food was amazing. A little pricey but what do you expect for waterfront downtown.

Eben Alton

Had a wonderful lunch on the patio. Ordered the baked brie as a appie followed by the crab/lobster cakes. The setting is beautiful, the food & service great....a lovely spot on Granville Island.

Jeffrey Baldwin

We came for dinner, unfortunately did not get a window seating to enjoy the views. We ordered the salmon chowder, seafood risotto and beef tenderloin. We also ordered mussels for appetizer and was pleasantly surprised to see that they gave us way more than expected. Salmon not overcooked and dry, tenderloin was delicious. Service was great, the waiter was very attentive and checked in with us often enough

Mira Naser

Amazing patio, our server was great

Tyler Smith

The food was decent, the drinks were great but over priced. I went to Dockside for the first time with a rather large group and I'm afraid the group may have been extremely loud and slightly obnoxious but they handled us extremely well. Very friendly and helpful. It was worth it for the fun atmosphere and the gorgeous view.

Ashley Dang

The view and restaurant was very nice but the waiter"s attitude was not. We came there for the waffles but were disappointed to learn that they are not available since the restaurant always changes food items. If that is the case then they should update their website!. I had no other option so chose the $17 egg breakfast that I could have got anywhere else for half the price and less attitude. Definitely would not be back.

Jack Chu

Good food. Nice patio. Am I going there again? No.

Google Guide

Nice ambiance, good service. Food was okay. Over-priced for happy hour in the afternoons. Drinks were good. Would be better if they had more happy hour drinks on the list. More selection.

Kaylin Ho

I had been here a few times before and liked it but last Saturday I took my Australian relatives as I thought it would be a great spot for a reunion after 50yrs! It was disappointing to say the least. All this place has got going for it is the lovely views of False Creek and the beautiful Vancouver skyline. The staff were not knowledgeable about the food ingredients in the dishes so I had to send back my meal which I thought was seafood but included somekind of pork sausage meat. Odd thing we asked about pork in some of the side dishes so hint hint..should have rang a bell for the server. They did replace it reasonably quickly. The server seemed quite stressed and her answer to most of our questions were "yup" and "yup". Maybe she was new or just tired. My cousin ordered champagne which was flat and when she asked if it was new bottle the answer was..."fairly new" and not helpful at all so she just drank it. The cooked kale that came with the trout was tough. Yeah i know kale is kind of tough but surely if it comes cooked...When I asked what kind of trout was on the menu..the server had no clue. Oh well you live and learn but it was an embarrassing expensive disappointing lesson. I should have taken the family to Cactus Club instead. Buck up Dockside..so much wasted potential.

Stella Stanfield

Beautiful views. Service was great. Was here for happy hour. Prices are abit higher, probably because of the view. Food could be a lot better. The flatbreads need some work. I wasn’t even sure of what I was eating by looking at it. Truffle fries were abit too salty. The ahi tuna salad was sad-looking. The beets salad was nice in flavour but the feta was chunky. It would have been nicer if the feta was more aerated - like they didn’t just throw it in the dish. Just little improvements could be done. Overall, people would come here for the ambiance and not the food.

Laurie Janzen

Took a friend out to celebrate dinner here tonight. We had the crab cakes and the west coast salmon appetizers. Both were very good. Wish I could say the same about dinner. I had the duck and my 2 friends had the prime rib. My meal was ok. Lacking in flavour and the perogies didnt taste like much other than deep fry. My friends' prime rib was tough, the Yorkshire pudding was dense and doughy. Overall a disapointment for this foodie especially for the price. Won't be back and wouldn't recommend. Since my original review of 3 stars above the manager actually reached out and offered to pay for our dinner if we gave them another shot. Since we had nothing to lose figured we'd take them up on the offer since she told us they had since gotten a new chef and changed the menu. We went back just before the long weekend in May and the food has changed drastically. We all loved our meals, from the halibut, the pork tenderloin and the prime rib. We loved sitting on the patio and will likely return in the future due to their devotion to customer satisfaction and the yummy new menu!

Shona Fraser

Friendly server provided great recommendations for wine and food. The prime rib with garlic mashed potatoes were amazing. Halibut was overcooked so was quite dry. Dessert was ok.

Dockside Restaurant ???????? ????1253 Johnston St, Vancouver, BC We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. First time out since covid lockdown!! Felt safe with all staff measures taken for public safety. We sat on the outdoor patio on a gorgeous sunny day. One of the must beautiful patios in the city for peopole looking for a really nice meal with good food - not pub food - and a reasonably quiet "adult" ambiance. We ordered???????? Highly recommend!???? #Moules French fries: white Wine, herbs, aioli #Frying pan roasted macaroni Wa Cheese #Carpaccio: Wagyu beef, truffle aioli, padano, crostini #Bone Marrow . Onion jam, herb breadcrumbs, French baguette #Crispy Fried Cajun Prawns and French Fries #Hawaiian: capicola, bacon, pineapple, chili infused honey #Nero Caesar breadcrumbs, Pecorino cheese, lemon The food was great!Servers friendly and efficient. second to none, as we sat enjoying the view False Creek! Highly recommend! It was everything we hoped to be. We truly did miss going!!! ????‍♀️ Happy Hour and the best waterfront views! Happy Hour - 2:30 PM - 5:00 PM Late Night Happy Hour: 10 PM - 12 AM

Great view of the Harbor! Good service too. We were there with a group of 6 for a quick bite before a meeting. They served us quickly and efficiently; even the manager was helping out to get us in and out quickly. It was great weather and the view was amazing. Will definitely return!

Pieter van der Merwe

Great Happy hour. Beautiful location on Granville island

Sam Henderson

Clean, good service and most of all relaxed..as it is hard to actually relax in Vancouver. Staff was super chilled and fun and gave space and also they had one guy on deck who was dedicated to THERALLY cleaning everything immediately right after and was done in a theral way. Easy and not overly stimulating. Food was not bad but drinks were ????but the overall feel and experience you get is worth it. The view is great + staff had FULL face covers. Portion sizes are quite large so you will be more than satisfied. Very clean facility.

Jaison McDonald

Great location and environment, especially on a sunny day on the patio here! I found the staff super friendly - the hosts, servers and even staff from the kitchen walking in and out. The food and drinks are a bit overpriced, so I’d suggest checking this place out during happy hour. Try the squid appetizer!

Rana Abhishek Singh

Excellent view and relaxing envirnment nice patio with view and shades bbq rib has was delicious Avocado toast is a bit dissapointed, very dry and hard bread. It have way too much sprouts. definitely gonna try something else next time

Gurminder Shoker

Food was great! Staff was amazing even when the kitchen messed up an order. Definitely worth the walk and wait for a table with a view.

B Link

Impeccable service, Scrumptious Food and View you could never be tired of looking at. I enjoyed succulent Salt Spring Island mussels in a white wine broth followed by a slice of chocolate ganache tart and espresso. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ????

Signe Knutson

Great patio for the sunny days , friendly staff but the food menu was limited

Rose Wilton

A really pleasant surprise! I enjoyed my brunch with a spectacular view. The food is really good and healthy options are available. I appreciate the waiters service and the general ambience.

Richard Close

Dockside: if you have any dietary restrictions they will not accommodate. They took 60 minutes to bring the food out. The lamb was chewy and overpriced. I was extremely disappointed with the front staff and the kitchen staff. This is a restaurant that’s overpriced for the service and food and I will not be visiting again. It’s a tourist attraction.

Hillgan Ma

The squid was melt in your mouth tender and cooked to perfection!! Large portion sizes and great service. The space is also beautiful!

Ruby Arnold

Awesome...great food. Great view..the clam spaghetti is to die for!

Leo Ogbeide

Food and service were both very good. A little on the pricey side and limited menu options.

roo kie

this place wants only your money. their food quality is poor. over priced. when you want to reserve table they ask for credit cards like who does that and they say if you don't show we charge $20 per person. very desparte organization. I will not support companies that are only for their interest and they don't give proper service.

Peter Au

Worst service ever. Celebrated a friends bday and the server was incredibly rude and disrespectful. Even the birthday girl was utterly shocked at how much attitude we were given. When she spoke up the waiter simply disregarded her comments and gave us the bill. We were even charged 18% gratuity! Not impressed.

Nauhie Kim

A beautiful restaurant with great food! We attended the Mother’s Day brunch and everything was excellent! The only tricky part was parking, but when is that not a problem on Granville Island? I would recommend coming early or transiting if possible for this event!

Sebastien Burghgraeve

Delicious food and good service. The dishes are just aerobatics. I am delighted!

Empower 1

Food is ok. The best is its location. Right inside Grandville Island.

Alannah Lori

Had a lovely breakfast with great views. Our server was very helpful in recommending things for our dietary issues. It's a beautiful place although it's changed in the last 25 years what with updates etc.

Connor Ganuelas

I ordered panzanella salad for lunch. It was mostly arugula with some tuna flakes, capers and grapes at the bottom. No bread whatsoever! When I complained to the server she returned with a saucer of 6 croutons. A very pricey and unimpressive panzanella.

Came here for a drink and the patio took my breathe away - the view is gorgeous.

Peter M

My hubby and I found our way canoodling in Canada. One of our favorite spots was the Dockside, where we enjoyed mimosas and swordfish. We sat on the outdoor patio where we soaked up stunning views of the river and Vancouver. We loved watching the taxi boats (which we later went on).

Matthew Paugh

Claim and chips was something I could of bought in super store.so little .Will not be back staff was very nice .

Tigran Babaev

Really enjoyed brunch at Dockside today. The food was great, but the customer service was absolutely outstanding. When our server Cassidy found out it was a triple birthday celebration for my husband and in-laws, not only did she bring sparklers in the desserts, she comp’ed all of them! Thank you for making our brunch such a delight!

Melissa Meng

Very elegant environment and good location facing Barbour. When you sit the table near the window or other places in the restaurant, the harbor view is fabulous. The waitress alway asks customer any needed, one of my friend invited me here for lunch. My first time to come this restaurant. The food is delicious and fast delivery. This is really good place for family or friends gathering . I definitely will bring my kids to here someday.

JJ

The manager was extremely rude and acts like every customer owes him 100 bucks.

The night time view is spectacular. Service is great and a menu featuring seafood is pretty darn good. Nice wine list, specialty cocktails. Tons of parking.

Anthony Morelli

Food definitely priced for the view and location. Inside our table was super wobbly under my mediocre made latte. But the patio is great in the summer.

Andre Rink

We wanted to go for dinner but because 2 of our party didnt have an electronic qr codes on their phones but had physical vax cards they were refused entry to the restaurant , My spouse and i have spent close to a 1,000 to stay here very disappointing ????

Vivian Fung

Came here for a company party. Delicious food and great service! The crab cakes are amazing! The view here is great as well and is perfect for a dinner on a summer evening.

Jim O'Grady

The wow factor was there when I first walked into this hotel. Then our party proceeded into the resturant and was seated quickly even though we were early for our reservations. The service was starting of fairly well and we had our orders placed. Better two larger groups came in and took away the attention to our server Brandon. Yes, we had ordered both our entrees and appetitzers at thd same time and Brandon assured us that we would get our appetizers first before our entrees would be served. Well it took an hour and half from the time we sat down until we received our appetitzers which were likely sitting there for a bit before it was served to us. Then with five minutes after we were served our appetitzers, the entrees were being brought to us. We sent the entrees back because we really hadn't enjoyed our food yet. When our entrees did get served, for the second time, all of our meals where cold. We waited again for the entrees, there were other smaller parties that were and were not having the same experience during this same time frame. Where the larger tables were all getting their foods and even the chef came out to serve them their food. Two hours had gone by from the time we sat down until we were served our entrees for the third time. Well, my lamb t-bone entree was cold except the falafel, the salmon entree was also cool, and the potatoes on the prime rib entree was cool. Here the two fisherman's pot was piping hot. I cannot comment on the taste of any of the foods because everything to me was cold and blah. Not only this, they were making up for the bad experiences by also offering us free dessert with our meal. So i took them up on the offer to atleast to give them one last redemption. That took 20 minutes to be brought to the table. When we got the desserts, we had 9 minutes before our show started. Which all we could do was rush our dessert eating which i was deeply disappointed with the double chocolate cake dessert because i could not enjoy it like i wanted too. It was three hours when we walked in the the restaurant and then ran out because we were going to be late for the show that we came this area of town for. Deeply disappointed that this was my first time at this restaurant and had a bad experience. The restaurant team tried to make it up to us by clearing the food tab off, but still for me I am pretty low maintenance as long as my food is not cold or cool, water glass is never emtpy for long and I have an acceptable amount of time to enjoy my food. :(

3 Star is for the view, not the food or service. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere if booking for a special occasion. Lesson 1. Even though I had reserved, the hostess said they had no patio tables. I said I reserved it over a week ago. She said they didn't reserve seating on the patio. Why take a reservation then? So I pointed to several empty tables on the patio and said what about these. She said there were people coming shortly for the tables so they obviously had reserved them! I asked about another table that had empty wine glasses and she said she would check. Yes, there was a table available, and it wasn't that one. So there was a table she just didn't want to give it to us. The table next to us didn't get filled for an hour so I don't know what the issue with reservations was. Lesson 2. Overcooked yam fries almost burned. I wish I had taken a photo. Lesson 3. Overcooked $36 6 ounce tenderloin $36 medium well and as I peaked over at it I could see it was It came dry and well done. As were were there to enjoy some family time he didn't make an issue. Lesson 4. Old rubbery vegetables with the steak. The beans were dry and hard and not fresh and the carrots were rubbery like they were precooked and heated. No excuse for this poor quality food and cooking at this restaurant. Overpriced, poor quality all around. Overall, if you want a good meal, don't come here! Maybe it's okay for an overpriced drink and appetizer. Please read the reviews before you reserve as the 3 star reviews are very accurate and I wouldn't want you to be disappointed with your experience of coming to a special dinner. Especially if you are the dinner planner and one booking, I spent the evening apologizing we didn't go elsewhere.

I really like this restaurant! Nice view, modern interior design, delicious food, great service.

Linda Ng Thomson

Food is so-so, but atmosphere is awesome . Service is good.

Devin

Such a pretty place for brunch. We had the steak and eggs. Steaks were cooked perfectly and the potatoes were so delicious. I was surprised they didn’t serve oysters being a seafood restaurant but the food was great!

Mike M

I don’t why but they were so many bugs on the table and around us..... it’s very disappointing We also heard a lot of good thing about this resturant but I don’t think they were even that good. The food was ok

I came here with my family and I can safely say that this restaurant has some of the great food around Vancouver. The view is very pleasing. The portion-to-price ratio is a bit high. Loved the smoked salmon pasta.

We visited Dockside on the weekend. The view from the patio is great!

Scott M

We came here for my birthday & the food was amazing and the service was great. The view of False Creek from the restaurant is pretty awesome too and the staff were quite friendly. Definitely a good place to go for dinner.

Shawn Isaac

Great view and atmosphere. The price is of course on the higher side because it's a restaurant in a nice hotel with great view. The service is nice and you can walk around the coast afterwards. They have both indoor and outdoor seats.

Lyubomir Radev

Beautiful spot, really goood service. Very covid friendly and good foood. Bit on the expensive side but fair enough you pay for the space.

Dee Doyle

Overpriced and slow service. I ordered the zucchini ribbons (un-pasta). It was $22 for the tiniest portion that I could easily make for under $1

For my sisters birthday we decided to go to the Dockside since it seemed like a good place to eat along with the view. However, it was anything but good and the service was not that great either. I felt like I spent $50 to just keep waiting for food that wasn’t even that good to begin with. It was overpriced for poor presentation, flavour, and portion. I was not satisfied with the food at all. The dinner menu wasn’t anything special. The drinks weren’t that great either. Caesars at Cactus Club taste way better. Like I mentioned we also came for a birthday and there was nothing given complimentary, not even a dessert. We also were not even offered the dessert menu. If you want to waste your money on boring food with low quality service... this is the place for you. The only good thing about this place was just the view. Not wasting my money here again.

Merissa LV

The patio view is great, vibe is nice. Recommend to come around 8:00 in the summer time. But the food is very very average. Hospitality is improvable in many way. Some of the waiter seems like he is always in a rush even when he is at your table. Recommend as a chilling lounging place with snack. Not recommend for dinner.

After picking up my sister in law from the airport, we headed over to Granville Island to try the brunch menu at Dockside Restaurant. While we were the youngest patrons there (we’re in our late 30’s) the restaurant is beautiful with incredible natural lighting, even on a rainy day. Dockside’s mimosas come with traditional orange juice, or grapefruit or pineapple for a tropical twist. We all ordered something different to get a good feel for options. The stuffed French toast is medley of sweet and tart flavors with a fresh creamy filling. The BBQ rib hash comes in a mini cast iron skillet and is a spicy and savory breakfast option. I had the smoked meat breakfast sandwich and it’s almost two meals in one. The smoked meat is tender and delicious and if you’re hungry this will surely hit the spot.

I have been a patron here over the years and for the most part the experiences have been 5 star; however a few times have been somewhat sub-par. When making a reservation (this is a must), request a patio table with an umbrella. Sitting in the hot noon-time sun is uncomfortable. The food is typically very good, but I found my seared tuna sandwich to have a skimpy portion of fish - most of it was condiments - albeit well prepared, but a bit more fish for the price charged please. The duck confit sandwich is more generous with its fillings. The kale Caesar is a nice, unique twist and the fries are crispy perfection. The table water is brought in unique old fashioned bottles which added to the charm. Overall, this higher end restaurant has withstood the test of time and it's good to see patrons dining and enjoying themselves during a pandemic. However, guests should mask when inside the building itself.

12/31/18 Experience: Ambience/ View: 4/5 Food: 2/5 Service: 5/5 Overall 3/5 Not cheap. Countdown was good. Food was really bad. Even our server acknowledged it. Not like fine dining. More like fast food fine dining quality. View was not bad. Last minute scrambled plans, so you gotta live with the consequences (my bad for not planning). Never coming back.

Ronald Lashley, Jr.

Good patio with nice views and great service. Lunch menu is not served after 3 but still some options are offered

What a spectacular view of the city. Ambience with firepits and cozy couches make this place one of my favorite waterfront dining choices.

Pedram Darban

Great food ! Beautiful view !

Inside the Granville Island Hotel, this restaurant has awesome views of False Creek. There is also patio seating with a water view (next to the walkway). The food is a bit pricey, though this is a tourist location and hotel setting. They do accept Entertainment Book coupons which makes the food a good deal. Food and service is standard. Paid parking is available in the Granville Island grounds. #letsguide

Jimmy Yang

The ambience and food are amazing but they have a very strict division between the restaurant and the bar and will force you to move if you want to order off of the bar menu and you're in the restaurant.

The people who work here are professional yet adapt to groups who are fairly casual. No pressure. Great suggestions. They also tend to smell like lavender. Food is very good and the beer is decent.

This is a tourist trap and as a Vancouver resident I must say that I feel pretty foolish at having gone to this restaurant without reading the reviews. It used to be a good restaurant . . . not anymore. The appetizers were tasty but very expensive. The sable fish main course contained a serving of fish that might have been almost 3 ounces, if I'm being generous. It was about a 2 by 2 inch square. I commented to the waiter that it was the smallest piece of sable fish that I had ever seen in my life. Three of us had ordered it and when he told us that they had been portioned out at 6 ounces each, our jaws dropped. This was a blatant untruth. The three together would hardly weigh 6 ounces. Each plate cost a whopping $34.00 which I would not mind if there had been a decent piece of fish on it. The third of a cup of red rice under the fish and the 3 tiny pieces of carrot mixed with the rice were all cold. This is one of the most expensive and one of the worst meals I have ever had.

Nav Sidhu

Of course you come here for the view but stay for the 63 degree egg. An egg cooked for 1 hour so that the viscosity between the yolk and egg white are the same texture when cooked. They have cleverly added this egg to potato soup for even more flavour. An amazing find I've been searching the world for.

Sherry C

Relatively quiet compared to pre-COVID19 times but maybe still relatively busy for these times. Server was awesome but forgot to get his name for recognition. Service from bussers and runners were great too. They all checked in is frequently. Face shields or face masks worn everywhere. Maybe because restaurant in hotel, even restaurant guests expected to wear face masks. They will provide if guests show up without face masks. All the ordered dishes were great as I remember each time I visited in the past. Will definitely keep coming.

The added patio space makes this place irresistible on a sunny day! The food was delicious, we had and recommend the carpaccio, smoked olives (they tasted like a cocktail we once had but can't place), the spring salad with fennel, and the halibut (if it is on special). We also enjoyed their tiramisu and creme brulee.

The best patio in Vancouver. Food is delicious ????

Trying to get away from all the noise in the city? This patio is the perfect setting to just relax and unwind. Classy and non pretentious.. service was over the top as our waitress worked hard in trying to ensure we were comfortable and happy. When the weather started getting chilly she offered some blankets while we waited for our dinner and always asked to see if we wanted to top up our drinks..water was served right as we got there. Although the lamb dinner is not too much of our liking we will be back because the Brussel sprouts really impressed our palate...so we are still opened minded to try the rest of the menu and perhaps we will ask the waitress next time what she thinks the chefs specialty is. Overall our stay was 5 stars..but 1 star off for the lamb dish as it was very gamey.

donna sicherman

Great views and patio. Service wasn't great. Would come back again only for the ambiance.

Mike Lane

Really disapponting experience. Server Ryan is reason for this. Very poor service from beginning. Worst was that more than one of our dishes arrived wrong. We gave him benefit of the doubt after awful and cold service and assumed maybe the cook made mistakes but our dishes were not removed after telling him we didn't get what we ordered. We were shocked but didn't want to make a fuss in front of our guest. After the meal we asked to speak to manager. Were told by server Ryan he was ' too busy'. Either the manager doesn't care or this employee was trying to avoid trouble. We didn't want any so didn't create a scene but make sure to ask the lady at the front desk his name on the way out. We have been here before and enjoyed. Great views. For these prices, we should get what we order and not have to be confronted and dealt with in a rude way by the person who is supposed to be serving us. I don't ever write reviews but this was the worst service ever I would have been embarrassed if I were him.

Shelly Pie

Food was delicious but we waited a long time. Over an hour on a Sunday. We suspect maybe our order was not placed? Our waiter Nathan was ok and friendly but seemed overwhelmed & flustered the whole night. It was almost uncomfortable. View and patio is great but for the price point the service could sure use some tweaks. Will consider trying again For the eats and view.

D Collins

My husband and I didn’t have the best experience first time around here, but the location is beautiful (best views of the city) and we were on Granville Island so tried again. Very glad we did. The scampi was to die for the ribs were fall off the bone perrfect, but our waitress Lara really made our night. Thought and care put into our wine selection for all dishes, and you can tell she really just loves what she does and is really great at it. Thanks Lara and compliments to the chef, great venue and we will be back. This patio is a must visit and hope it stays open for a while. We will be back.

Taylor MacDonald

We decided to go for coffee and dessert after dinner to sit on the patio for the spectacular view on a warm summer evening. Dessert tasted very good and service was above average. We couldn't help notice that the waiter had torn runners and older food stained clothing, didn't fit the above average venue.

Ted Ayles

Lovely restaurant love coming here for date night.

Christine Mason

Food was not spectacular and my friend found a black hair in their pasta. I would recommend only ordering a glass of wine and enjoy the view.

Samaya Cortez

This restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The food was very good, although it came a bit late (which is why they are getting 4, instead of 5 stars from me). The lightning is also very low, I don’t know if it was intended to make people feel relaxed but it wasn’t good for pictures. There’s also a cake cutting fee which I was unaware of. Aside from that everything else seemed pretty good, the servers were chatty but not in a bad way. I ordered the halibut & salmon linguini and it was really good!

Had been here for the Christmas buffet before and it was lovely, so we decided to come here again this year. I had called in to make a reservation and the girl I first talked to confirmed my seating and took down all my information including my credit card, then said they would send me a confirmation email shortly. When the confirmation email still didn't come several days later, I had called again and another girl who picked up this time told me that they couldn't find my reservation. It took them a while and eventually she said I was only on the wait list. It meant that I had no guarantee of a seating unless there is a cancellation, which only then will they call to inform me. I was never told that they were fully booked nor that I was on the wait list. This is extremely disappointing and luckily I had called to follow up or else we might have shown up at the restaurant to find that we never got a table. I had expected better service.

Debbie Richardson

Atmosphere is great, staff is friendly but would not suggest going to brunch if you are in a hurry

Joyce T

Very nice restaurant. Great view. Food was good as well. However, I was very disappointed with the service. Had a group of 8 people for a birthday dinner and did not get the attention needed for a large group. I always pair my wine with some hot water to sooth my throat but only once she refilled my water. I reminded her a couple times with no avail. Secondly, for the bill, she took a good 15-20 mins to service us. When it came to helping us take pictures, she did not enjoy it and put no effort in getting a clear shot. After paying for the bill, she said "this is the last time im going to help you take a picture " and then proceeded to walk away to leave us be (the picture was still poorly taken) and service other tables. I've never experienced such poor attitude at a restaurant before. She did not thank us nor did she wish us a good day. She did not even wish me a happy birthday. While I do not expect that from restaurants, that speaks a lot when it comes to simple service manners. It seemed like she was only at our table to grab our orders and do the minimum. The restaurant wasn't busy so there was no excuses for this unfortunate experience. The only reason why i think the restaurant should receive a passing grade is because another waiter, Jared, was kind enough to take better pictures and greeted is when we came in and departed. There are many restaurants that offer similar views with significantly better service. If you don't care too much about the view but want better ambiance, I would recommend glowbal on west Georgia or blue water cafe.

Stan Greyson

stellar night at Dockside. Our waiter was fantastic and made us all super comfortable from the first hello. Food was incredible. ♥️ Thanks everyone!

Calvin Bowen

Loved it! Very nice service and delicious food. Highly recommended ????!

Rana Ashour

Nice spot, unfortunately too many children on the patio. Their gluten free menu is actually gluten friendly. Expensive wine for sourcing local, suggest that you walk towards the bridge and go to Sandbar for better value, atmosphere and selection.

Tracy Knowles

Patio is the best in the city and very well spaced out (covid). The chef has different specials daily. We have been several times this summer favorites are the halibut, scampi and pork bites. The halibut specials have been the best we’ve had. Thanks to Lara for the outstanding service and we will see you very soon Tammy and Sally

Agnes K

Views of false creek are amazing and the food is delicious regardless of what time of day you're dining. Service can be a bit hit or miss and you can tell they're used to being able to trap tourists a bit with the 20% suggested tip as the second option and a tad pricey.

Christina Briggs

Great view and patio when its open. Food selection is a bit limited

A J

Really nice patio and great food.

Jules Ng

Nice semi formal restaurant on the water - indoor and outdoor seating, fresh relaxed feel with very good service and good prices for meals, portions are nice too!

Let's start with a grumble. Parking is free at Granville Island at this time. The Granville Island hotel is at the East end of the island and has its own parking. The hotel parking lot had lots of open spaces but I was informed by the front desk that lunch guests are not welcome to park there and needed to move my car. I moved my car but the island is popular and finding a open slot took time. Slightly annoying but now lunch. Great covid setup, the restaurant felt clean and open. The food was excellent. I had the tuna and wild rice, with Edamame. The place was busy so reservations are a good idea.

D Nem

The atmosphere and view here is decent! nice when sitting by the window, it wasn't to busy. Service was good and the food was phenomenal! A great place to take your friends or family for brunch or a meal. Hotel it is attached to is also well kept and very appealing.

Tza Tza

Good food and lovely decor but we saw a mouse passing by the couch and chairs. We told the server and he let his manager know and they gave 1 slice of tiramisu free of charge. Not a very pleasant experience. This makes me think of how clean and hygienic they are in the kitchen. Won't come back again.

Nelia Moreira

Thanks for a great dining experience last night...my wife and I loved our server, the food and your amazing view...will be back!

We went with my girlfriend for a special occasion to this nice restaurant on the waterfront and we were not disappointed. Firstly, the service was great. Our waitress was very friendly and welcoming. Secondly, the food is amazing there! We had 3 small plates to share like tapas and all 3 were exceptional. The skillet cheese rolls are too die for. The wagyu carpaccio and the pork belly bites have very well balanced flavors and we really enjoyed them. Lastly and one of the most important asset of the restaurant is the location…you are right in front of downtown Vancouver on Granville Island on the dockside waterfront. I will recommand this place without hesitation!

Alfred K

We were denied entry because we had a party of 7 asking for two tables today. There was no attempt to see if there were tables for us. This was in stark contrast to a group were the same hostess was more than willing to check for availability before seating them. Further compounding to this, was the fact that we saw a group of 6, 4 and 2 walk in right after us and got tables. I'd hate to think that we were somehow judged and preselected not to enter but it was hard not to feel that way. Absolutely disappointed and we will never come here.

Francis Ho

A little reluctant to go here, but the food was outstanding, service was on point, just a little tough to go there and try to keep the experience under two hours, but with the current protocols I guess you have to. Looking forward to when we can go back.

Just brilliant and attentive service from charismatic waitress Lara. Good quality local food and lovely panoramic view of Downtown city centre from the window side tables. We will return on our next visit, a grand evening indeed.

Loved it here. Such a beautiful, peaceful evening view as the sun set and wonderful service

Amazing views, service and food. Only thing I would caution is that some of the seafood mains (mussel and clam) were sold out by the end of the night. Will definitely revisit again!

The place was very nice and the food was delicious, but we had to eat with the food on our legs, they said they would change our table and they did not change us.

It is a beautiful restaurant inside the Granville island hotel. They have good food and drinks selection and the housemade tiramisu is a must try. The view of the false creek from the patio is amazing. A must visit place in summer.

First time at this beautiful place, service outstanding, Jules was the perfect server for our great experience, food, ambiance and the view 100 points

The buns were tough, the fries overcooked and the soup was too salty. Quality of the food seems to have dropped. BB

Dockside is one of my favourite restaurants to dine for dinner, especially during the summer months because of their amazing patio. My daughter and I decided to try Sunday Brunch and we were left thoroughly disappointed. After a $60 plus charge for two brunch entrees and two special coffees, we left feeling very hungry. We ordered the Eggs en Cocotte which was one of the worse dishes we have ever had. The eggs were super runny, the whites of the egg were not cooked. Just the visual of the dish was enough that we put a serviette over the bowl to cover it so we did not have to look at it before it was taken away. We also tried the Lyonnaise Salad, and although it was tasty and the presentation looked appetizing, it left you feeling hungry. If we ever return for brunch, we certainly will never try these two menu items again.

Staff were very accommodating because I was late due to traffic. Our server was very friendly! Food was yummy and fresh

I came here with a group of 13 people for my birthday celebration over the weekend and was disappointed with the level of service. The poor service started when I called to make reservations. I was put on hold for a very long time and when they returned to my call, it turns out that they had forgotten that they put me on hold and I was greeted again with their standard opening hello message. This first incidence did cause me to be slightly concerned about the service however I wanted to give them benefit of the doubt. They called me a day before the event to confirm the reservation and left a voicemail, however they noted the wrong date in the voicemail so I called back to confirm. The same thing happened as the first time I called and they were very confused whether I was confirming a reservation or making a new one. It was a very frustrating process to what I thought should be pretty routine for a restaurant. The service during the event was mediocre at best. Our server barely cracked a smile and seemed generally annoyed throughout the night. We were the only table on the patio, we were all 30+ adults having light conversations and were never loud or rambunctious. We asked for the heaters to be turned on towards the later end of the evening as it started to get cold - the request was met with the same annoyance. I felt little-to-no effort on the server's part, could this have been because there was an automatic 18% gratuity for our group already? Despite the poor service, I was very happy with the large patio seating with fantastic views of the water. The patio is equipped with plenty of heaters and blankets for those chilly nights. They do not guarantee patio seating but make note of the request when you make a reservation. The patio is spacious and partially covered in some areas. For my entrée, I had the halibut which was fresh but slightly overcooked. My boyfriend had the lobster pasta which was very delicious. We also shared the mussels which were fresh and tasty as well. The cocktails were disappointing. The Pimm's Cup had way too much mint which overpowered everything else. The Blood & Sand was mediocre. The Moscow Mule was absolutely terrible and tasted nothing like what it was supposed to be - I had to send it back. The saving grace was the Old Fashioned, which was quite good.

Javier Soliz

A great way to spend the night before Christmas. The food was great, the room was great and the staff was great. Wonderful.

Colleen McGahan

The restaurant is really quite beautiful and the patio has a great view. Unfortunately, the food is over-priced for what you get, and both times I have been, the service has been a little lacking. Still, I love Granville island and it is worth maybe a cheeky glass of wine on the patio for that wonderful view.

Joey Yu

Went to this restaurant for a birthday back in September. We were a group of approximately 25 people that had been booked for over 2 months. They were not staffed properly at all. We had only 1 server for our group, and the kitchen staff had to deal with two other large groups in the restaurant in addition to the normal customers. I felt bad for our server as she was stressed out as people's patience were wearing thin. It took an hour to get a drink order, after that people started ordering drinks from the bar. It took two hours to order our food. Three hours to get our food, and over four to settle up. The food was cold and was not worth the price. After all that they only offered a 20% discount on everyone's bill, which in reality after a 18% gratitude that's added for large groups, we only received a 2% discount. Since the Christmas season is coming up, I would highly suggest you not to book group bookings with the restaurant.

My fiancée waited 20 minutes, no one came to give her a glass of water, or take her order. She told waitress she’s going to go somewhere else, waitress replied “sorry” without feeling any guilt. She sent an email & dm on instagram, no one reached out for an apology. Also, at the time she was there, restaurant wasn’t busy at all. Disappointing visit, won’t be back.

Peter Fergusen

Food was decent, waiter acted like he didn't want to be there and he was very rude. Maybe he was having a bad day but he effected our night. Maybe don't work a job with people if he does not like it? We spend hard earned money going out every once I a while and don't expect that at a expensive restaurant.

Harry Lamba

Had buffet dinner at Christmas party. All the food down to the after- dinner coffee was delicious and staff very friendly. Great experience.

Jason Hirko

Seafood Carbonara was disgusting. Server was rude and they messed up our reservation. At this price point , there are thousands of better options. Tragic because the location has a lot of potential-poor execution all around.

Amita Sharma

Went to dinner on a Tuesday with my family and everything about this place was amazing! I have worked in restaurants for over 14 years and know the dedication required to please people. The service was on point from the refills to the check backs. The busser doesn't get enough credit for her hard work. Her attention to detail was extremely high and I never had to ask for anything. Perfect service, ask for Laura, she was very knowledgeable and professional. A+++ if I'm in Vancouver again im coming back!!!! P.S. The food was incredible! Tasty, deep flavors and impeccable plating! Thank you for a night I will not forget! Come visit me @ Deweys Pizza University City location.

Richard Small

I came here for the beer and was disappointed in beer, food and service. I ordered the onion soup and got what looked and tasted like an onion boiled in cheap barbeque sauce for 2 hours. It was also incredibly expensive. I also got a flight of their flagship beers (for $14!!) and was served samples of beers that tasted like celery, bitter celery and even more bitter celery. When I only ordered a flight and the onion soup, the server gave me a look of disgust, as if I should be able to afford to buy the whole menu on a whim. I would absolutely not recommend this place unless you get to eat here free.

Tom Chambers

Best patio in the city! Menu is solid, pretty small but as far as I can tell they do everything well. Love the squid, hummus, and the lamb. My companion loved the chourizo and clams as well. Service is good as well.

Sarah Sinclair

We were pleasantly surprised by a new menu for this restaurant and the salmon farfelle and whole trout were tasty. Our server Nathan although friendly seemed very overwhelmed and stressed out and this unfortunately affected our experience. We stopped asking questions as he appeared in distress and unable to answer. Good food and views. Nice deck for summer so we will try again as we would like to taste the new menu but hopefully we will get a more experienced server.

Terence Leung

Dockside is one of those restaurants that I have regrettably overlooked. I had the best french toast I have ever had during my experience. And I mean the BEST. The mascarpone was hidden inside the layers of bread... it was delightful. I’ll be back to have this french toast again! I adore it so much that I fear they remove it from their menu someday... thank you Dockside!

Joanne Brown

Great location with great views. Service was excellent and food was very good.

Sandra Livingston

I think the review scores from multiple sites are accurate - they are relatively low. It is a disappointing dining experience given the high prices. We were a table of 7. The patio is nice, but not the best in Vancouver. There is no view and the pictures taken by diners will confirm this. It's not elevated and you'll just see the back of boats. I had the halibut and had to return it because it was overcooked, dry and bland. My friend had the sturgeon that was over cooked also. The kitchen was slow. We found out the chef was visiting a table because they were friends of the owner. Check the menu first - it's on the high side even for a higher end restaurant and the portions are small. The waiter was great even though he forgot someone's drink. Read the reviews. Save your money.

Angel Grubb

It's hard to rate this less than four stars because of the gorgeous patio and view. They did a magnificent job on my friends wedding. However, I had the burger there the next day and it was terrible. Just avoid buying the burger and you should be good.

Brandy Schneider

I don’t mind paying $ 36 for prime rib ,but when it comes slightly warm with a cold and tough Yorkshire pudding I really don’t like it . $ 12 for a cheap Cabernet it’s not right. After visiting restaurant for many years I will not return.

Anna Blackledge-Farinha Luz

We were thinking of spots to enjoy brunch together with the fam today as it's one of the fleeting warm, sunny days in Vancouver this year. The criteria included an outdoor patio, preferably with a view, and a brunch menu as my husband's fave meal of the day is breakfast and my mum is not an early riser. We ran through the list of usual suspects when I proposed Dockside - surprisingly, I was the only one who had been here. We weren't able to make a reservation online for the patio, but decided to chance it and try our luck for a walk-in at 11:30AM today. Success! The front of house team welcomed us and actually scanned our vaccine passports (!), which we were super happy to see since many establishments are still not doing this despite the new laws. We got a great partially-shaded spot on their patio overlooking False Creek (see pic). I ordered the avocado toast (with organic whole grain & honey toast, alfalfa sprouts, heirloom tomatoes, sunflower seeds, za'atar and added a soft-poached egg), and both my husband and mum ordered the smoked meat breakfast sandwich (house-made montreal smoked meat, fried egg, provolone, alfalfa sprouts, horseradish mayo, sesame brioche) with salad. To drink, I ordered their breakfast tea, my husband had the coffee, and mum had the grapefruit juice. The presentation of my avocado toast was nice (see pic), and the egg was soft as requested though the flavour of the dish was surprisingly bland... Pretty disappointing for toast that cost over $20. It definitely needed something, even just a citrus/acidic drizzle of some sort on top. I wasn't super hungry this morning so the portion size was perfect for me, but I do think that they should adjust the price or add something on the side. Both my husband and mum loved their smoked meat breakfast sandwiches (see pic) - the meat was piled high, and the sesame brioche bun was a hit. Both mentioned it was quite salty (which is saying something since they are both salt enthusiasts), so if that's not a plus for you, you may want to factor that into your menu choice. Husband and mum agreed that getting the side salad was the right choice as it was tasty, fresh, and because they both probably could have done with half the sandwich and been okay (if taking the other half for later), though the fries would have been way too much. When it comes to service, this is where they lost a star for me. Our server was pretty abrupt and frankly, rude at the beginning. We had sat down and she asked us about drinks, we said we were just waiting on one more person before ordering and she stormed off. I'm not sure what was going on behind the scenes, because there was nothing on our end. She sort of recovered through the end of service and was more friendly, but it was a bizarre encounter. That being said, everyone has their off days and let's leave it at that. The sprawling patio at Dockside really is what makes the experience, and I would definitely recommend it if you're looking to enjoy some sunshine and a view. We look forward to going back for another brunch date and splitting the stuffed French toast, as we saw this dish going to a few tables today and it looked delicious! When life goes back to some semblance of normal post-COVID and the theatre and comedy shows start up again, this would also be a nice spot to go for a drink and a bite before or after a show.

Wow! Everything was beyond phenomenal. The Mac and cheese is a must try and the NY steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Great to see proper Covid-19 protocols being followed including thoroughly cleaning all surfaces. Amazing food with great service and a view. Will definitely be visiting again!

Thomas Tricarico

The most gorgeous patio on Granville Island! Decent vegetarian food selection. Good wines to choose from as well. Love the atmosphere, great service, and will go back.

Jon Dillon

I'd like to preface this by saying that their linguini vongole is to die for. The patio is open, well maintained and offers beautiful scenes of Vancouver. However, my experience was ruined when our waitress did not communicate to the kitchen that I am pescatarian and proceeded to serve me their Brussel sprouts with pancetta. Albeit the situation itself is bad enough, I was shocked in the way this restaurant handles conflict resolution and it has been highlighted that there *needs* to be some form of training to eradicate this issue. My food wasn't taken care of, our waitress was passive and attitudinal, and the manager tried to resolve this to the best of her vantage point but I truly don't feel like I was done right by this situation. I have been ill in the bathroom due to this since last night, and to quantify that to a couple of free shots instead of doing their due diligence in great customer service and compensating my food is almost offensive. My willingness to never come back is effortless. I've been pescatarian for the past 4 years, and vegan for 15 years... an "I said I'm sorry" doesn't cut it.

Matt Parker

We sat out on the beautiful patio that looks out over false creek. Although I find this place a little pricey I enjoy going here every now and then and every time I have a good experience. We had nice blankets given to us as the evening cooled down which just makes sitting outside even more pleasant. The food is always excellent each time i go. I just had a pasta dish this time and it was really tasty.

Julia Langton (Jules151287)

There are so many outstanding reviews about this restaurant. But my recent experience tells me to treat reviews with skepticism. I ordered a Halibut dish, it came with a small (more like 2oz) piece of Halibut, some green peas (canʻt believe it, using cheap green peas for veggie), a few green salad leaves, and a thin layer of sauce. The Halibut was moist but tasteless. In other restaurants, that would be considered a half portion, but I paid full price of $39. No bread, but tap water was free. The view is fantastic, but the food quality and quantity is mediocre, at least for the time I was there. Go there and enjoy the view and the ambience, have a drink and a snack. You will enjoy that experience and that may be the attrative feature of this restaurant.

Jessica Froud

For every day they don't bring back prime rib sliders for happy hour this review goes down a star

Sylvia Farbot Sylviaf777

We were on Granville Island but read mixed reviews We decided to try after looking at the menu. Great seafood selection but there is much more variety than that. Food was fantastic especially the squid and the halibut. Great wine selection , excellent local selection, the best view and exceptional and most friendly service by waitress Lara. As first timers we had a lot of questions and the time and explaining was appreciated, she was delightful. We had a wonderful time and we will go back.

Sab L

Good food. Funny waiter. Overlooking beautiful False Creek. Can't ask for more.

Robbed. Christmas brunch, the only thing from leaving a trail of steam indicating heat was the mussels. A pancake or waffle that could melt butter was at Denny’s. No tongs for muffins and scones,so just stickey fingered public fondling baked goods maybe looking for warm ones. Two obvious plates to be taken away only one is taken, later found out that it was the manager that couldn’t work two hands. As well came in with paper cup from lobby not to be removed untill the end of their service of my table. This was a major disappointment.

Rick Bell

Went there yesterday with my husband, our six month old and his boss' family for dinner and was not impressed with the service. We were seated on the patio, which by the way is great! The view is nice and we felt like we were away on a vacation. We ordered 3 appetizers, wine and two entrees. We barely saw the waiter. Our food was delivered by the food runner, water was hardly topped up and when it was, again, it wasn't our waiter. That's fine though because they may have their own way of doing things but the point was - when we needed something, we were looking around for him like lost puppies. Tables around us were empty so it was not like it was a busy night. After dinner, we waited for our plates to be cleared for a while, waited for the dessert menu and again waited for the bill. We started dinner at around 7:30 and should have been out there by 9:30 but didn't get out of there until 10:30, way past my little one's bed time who started getting a bit cranky. The food was okay....not great enough to tolerate this kind of service. When it came time to pay the bill of course our server shows up with the utmost manners. Needless to say, he didn't receive a big tip.

Jocelyn Robertson

Ordered a steak medium rare, came out well done. Manager came to our table and asked if we'd like to send it back for another and we agreed. Came out again medium well at best. Not even an attempt to consolidate on the bill or acknowledge our experience.

Kinson Lai

They should not allow children who place unwanted cherry tomatoes on your plate and your beverage Sincerely, Ronald Mo

marilyn chandler

It's a bit pricey but they have a beautiful patio on the water, overlooking several nice yachts and false Creek. A great place for lunch on a sunny day!

Victoria Daley

Service was on point! The place was super classy. My girl got the ribs and they were awsome I got the lamb Tenderloin. Also awsome. Would go back

Tricia C

My boyfriend and I came in for our 2 year anniversary lunch. We actually felt terribly awful for the staff that are forced to work under this girl “Nicole”. Nicole was absolutely degrading, awful and berating her own staff, on the restaurant dining area. I actually saw one of the staff start to cry because she was so rude.. I have never felt So awful for the staff in any workplace as I did this night. I will forever tell anyone who asks to stay far away from this business as long as that creature runs the place.. just awful. Also, we asked for a substitution for my salad for another side, and the server said she would ASK her “manager”, This Nicole woman, and came back said said no. Totally I accommodating. The server did her due diligence to make my special someone and I feel a bit better about it, but we left feeling awful. This woman need to be fired. To the owner: if you are noticing any employee, service, or revenue issues with Dockside Restaurant, fire Nicole. She’s literally the reason we will not be back, and we will tell everyone we know ( and we live in Kitsilano ) not to go as well… this girl needs to manage a subway, or maybe the produce department. Making fantastic staff cry on shift in front of patrons is unforgivable.. DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PERSON.. totally unacceptable. I will be contacting the owner of this business and letting them know how their business is being handled. Disgusting…

Faye F

Pretty disappointed with my first experience here. Bad service. Everything was sold out that we wanted. Beer was flat. A server popped a bottle of sparkling water directly at us and got us wet, didn't even acknowledge or say sorry. Just pretty unprofessional for the prices they display. First and last time I will come here..

robert rothon

Had the mix of halibut, salmon, mussels and crab and it was all delicious. Great view and friendly staff too.

Miracle Chan

Nice patio, so so service and the is the same.

Maureen Link

Fantastic food, love the view - this is one of our favorite restaurants.

David Farrely

Very nice and cozy place. The views from this restaurant are amazing. You can see the marina ⛵ right outside and all the way to Science World and BC place. You get a great view of the high rises in Vancouver and makes you feel like sitting in a really posh place. The food is great and the quantity is good too. In summer's they also have the patio seating available which offers even better views. Overall a ???? thumbs-up to this restaurant!

Siew Law

Our first time here we made reservations and was very disappointed,, table menu and utensils where so dirty that we got up and left before even opening the menu, Told the manager why we will be leaving and he jus let us walk without a sorry or anything. We over heard the waiter tell hostest the situation and heard them make remarks about us, then we got a phone call hour later asking if we would be still making our reservation, very unprofessional

Carol Price

Beer and the view were great, the food was just alright, but the service was painfully slow on a Tuesday night. Getting a drink refill, even water, required multiple requests and a 20 minute wait for it to be completed.

Henry Moen

We were a little unsure upon arrival, one of the young hostesses was rather abrasive to our group but we were hungry so waited for a table on the patio. All up from there. One of the best views in the city, a must see. Bring your camera! I was with a group with coworkers, also including some special needs individuals we work with and our server named Lara made the night just magical for them. Offering up blankets and even helping one of the wheelchaired guests assistance when he asked to make him all snug. She responded comfortablly and was happy to help all of them with requests all night. Her banter and attention and genuine care was really appeciated for this special group. She was so friendly and really made their night, this kind of service is so rare these days. The food although it took a while was great! Must tries are the "legendary" chilli squid and the halibut (in season and delicious) although the whole group was happy with the food. All beer brewed "in house" and quite a treat. The seasonal strawberry blonde was popular amongst our group. Some people always suggest white wine for seafood but I was set on red, and our waitress Lara brought a nice light local Pinot noir. They offer many local wines which is great but there is a span of selection for any pallet. Thank you Dockside for a memorable experience.

Karla Kerr

Went for dine out Vancouver, menu is great and food quite delicious. unfortunately our waiter was absent and we had to ‘give him a sec’ every time we asked him something. Our dinners were mixed up. Have been before and have enjoyed, maybe just avoid during dine out. First time we had an issue with un pro service so we will try again after the festival.

Barry Brookes

Amazing experience. The restaurant was decorated beautifully for Christmas holidays. Food was delicious ????

Agi

Having a great stay at the Granville Hotel & eating at the Dockisde Restaurant regularly and could not be happier with the wonderful staff, great food in a fantastic location.

Nat Col

been having breakfast here for a decade. great eggs Benny

Kelvin Lau

Great venue featuring a gorgeous view of Yaletown and yachts. Selection of food for every palette and dietary needs. The patio, open in the warmer weather, is fantastic with cabanas and general table seating.

Darick Cohen

Great service. Food was good, filling and plentiful. But the staff really made it great. Best in the summer when the windows are open to their patios, and there's more seating options, but warm and friendly when it's cold outside. We brought our mother, who has dementia, and the staff greeted her kindly and treated her with great respect, which was much appreciated.

Anmol Gill

One of the most beautiful patios in Vancouver. Located between Granville island (but simply in the east end of Granville Island) and Olympic village, right on the bank of False Creek. Patio sitting is beautiful and peaceful, and inside sitting looks luxurious. Food is great and service is even better!

Andrew Doyle

Food, service, view and value. This restaurant has an excellent reputation and every time I've been here it's been upheld

Chanel Chalifoux

We came for a late lunch after a wedding. Our server was fantastic. He kept the table clear of unnecessary clutter, kept us informed of all the changes to the menu and out they were out of. Apologetic when he couldn't meet our desire. And throughout our time there he was acknowledged our occasion and offered congratulations. I would absolutely be thrilled to have him serve us again. The food was really good. Everyone raved about how they enjoyed what they had ordered. The best part, for me, was the Flourless Chocolate Torte I had for dessert. As a gluten free vegan dessert in a typical restaurant doesn't happen very often. I'd go back just for this. The view was nice and the ambiance excellent. The most difficult part of this is finding parking. Granville Island isn't the easiest but Dockside is worth it.

M Z

Went here for a wedding brunch. Food was great! I especially liked the Avacado eggs Benny!

Nick Pizza

A trip to my second (wife's first) home is never complete without Breakfast here and a walkaround the island. The bagel, salmon and cappers remind me of a place I use to frequent in Norfolk VA.

Jordan REID

Excellent service, good food, not too many people. It is my favorite to go to in the neighborhood

Adrian Luk

Terrible service from Jules. We were ignored most of time , got the wrong food and he did nothing about it and he fought with us when we explained we did not get the proper meal. Nice place but not worth it if this is usual service.

johanna libbey

Went for dinner during Dineout. I opted for the veggie menu. The appetizer was spring rolls and was quite good. The main dish was zucchini that was too firm and bland. Dessert was a panne cote. Not worth the $40 price tag in my opinion but location was nice.

Alexander Teh

Good services and good food!

I Leong

Basically spent half the price for the patio. The food was not worth the price; had the Market. The service was really slow. I don't know if they are short of staff or the person just did not know how to prioritize, but the experience was overall quite bad. The waiter spilled coffee on my coffee platter and she didn't even bother changing it. Everytime she came to us, she seemed unhappy... I will never come again.

Truong Nguyen

Beautiful patio with a gorgeous view. Good menu

Michael Brown

Always a solid dining experience. Very thoughtful COVID protocols in place.

Marko Crnjanski

Pretty bad breakfast experience. 2 of the 3 orders were messed up and a 50 minute wait for the food to come on top of it. They explained that it was due to them being short staffed this season (not just that day). The easy solution to that is to just let less patrons in...

Glenn Cormier

Great view, good menu, decent food good staff. Decor is a little tired, but will definitely come back

Jara Jerry

Nice view. Food not worth the price. Good service.

Anthony Ansaldo

Upscale, pricey with beautiful view and unrushed dining. The appetizer, beverage and entree requested were not available but 2nd choice was excellent. Great service.

Jeannie Coholan

Food was great, host at the front was great, waiter Robert sucked.

Trisha Holloway

Absolutely 5 star experience. If I could rate it higher, I would. My server was a fellow by the name of Juan Matias. He was incredibly helpful and suggestive with what to order from the menu, and his polite and exuberant personality made me feel far more than welcome to be there, almost VIP. I ordered The Dockside Burger and a red wine sangria; the presentation was excellent, and the portion was sizable, definitely worth the price (and the pricing is very reasonable for anyone not looking to spend a fortune while sitting at a restaurant next to the water). All in all, I totally recommend this restaurant to anyone reading this; and if you're lucky enough, you may even be served by Juan. Thanks for the excellent service!! -Leo

Margo Higgins

Do yourself a favour and go eat here! Service is 10 stars as is the food!

Ken Zhou

Went to Dockside with some friends for dinner recently and had a great experience. Their service and food are above average, and their patio is amazing. I would highly recommend the mac and cheese and the ribs. This spot is definitely worth checking out.

Josh Cox

Excellent customer service. Always check for vaccinations. Staff very friendly!!!

Kav Kav

With a fantastic view on the marina and downtown, the restaurant is a good spot for good dining. Nothing fantastic classic northwest coast cuisine. The service is fine nothing exceptional. A good place for brunch before a walk on granville Island.

Anna Coles

Amazing food !! Very quick response with great service!! Plus affordable. Good job keep it up

Sandy Evans

Can't think of a better place to celebrate a 40th wedding anniversary! We got our requested table by the window and had to wear sunglasses to look over False Creek and all the activity: seals swimming, kayaks, pirate boat drifting by, birds swooping and people enjoying their walks. It's an "alive" place yet Dockside is a refuge of tranquility. Love the white linens and subdued elegance. The chandelier is a show stopper. As for the meal and the service, it was top notch. Carmen served us with attention and friendliness. The crab/shrimp cakes were awesome and then the rhubarb/strawberry pie with cinnamon ice-cream was out of this world. My halibut was overdone, but the cook was quick to make it right. My husband loved the lamb although he would have enjoyed a larger portion. All things considered, we had an absolutely wonderful time. We will be back - soon!

Sebastian S

One star for food and our waitress who is helpful and understanding. But their booking system is weird and the hostess was not helpful. Thought I booked christmas dinner from 4 pm. And went there at 4, but been told that I only booked for happy hour not christmas dinner, and claimed that they tried to contact me to tell me that it is only happy hour not Christmas dinner, but my phone doesn't have voice mail. Well, on my reservation confirmation, there's nothing indicates that I booked for happy hour and only have 2 hours to warp up my dinner. And I told them they could have sent me an email or text message to confirm about it, or at least try to call me twice. And the hostess is like ok I can do nothing here and please leave by 6pm. Horrible experience for Christmas.

Scott MacKenzie

The food and service are EXCELLENT. Gorgeous views from the dining room and patio. This is the place to go for on a sunny Vancouver day to soak in the views of this gorgeous city. Perfect for a special brunch with Mom, or a romantic dinner and definitely when you want to impress out of town guests. Love the patio here- THE place for drinks OR imagine having your dream summer wedding here?!?

vbn else

Came here for a drink and the patio took my breathe away - the view is gorgeous. The prices are pretty decent (especially at happy hour) for how nice it is here. The beer is nothing to write home about but I like the Pelican brown and IPA. Service is top notch I will always come back Here when I’m in town

Wayne Jackson

I found this brunch reservation with super short notice this past weekend. I was pleasantly surprised how good the atmosphere with great view from the dining room. Food was reasonably priced. Service was decent.

DIANNE E

We had our Christmas party at the restaurant yesterday: food was great and the location is simply stunning. special shout-out to the fantastic staff. They were all very friendly and attentive. Even though we were a big group, tables received their (yummy) food at the same time. Great experience!

Alexa McAteer

I’ve been coming to this patio for dinners, lunches & happy hours since 2006, & even had my birthday party lunch with a group of friends on the patio a couple of years back. The views & food are always very good, but when I came today with 3 good friends, one a commercial realtor Vice President, another a CEO & another senior executive, we were surprised that there were only 3 food items on their happy hour menu, when in previous years it had one of the best selections of any patio restaurant in the city. So we ordered from the lunch menu, with 3 appies, 4 mains, 2 desserts, 8 cocktails, wine, & dessert coffees. We spent nearly $400., & had a great server. However, the other staff were so over zealous in their policing of the Covid rules, that at times they were downright rude. They talked down to us like we were children & they were the parents, not like we were the paying guests. I dine out 4-6 times per week & no other place has treated my friends or me this way. I had just been here for lunch a few weeks ago with my realtor friend, and the treatment was much better, not like the out of control scowling rudeness from some of today’s male servers, who were quick to admonish my guests, even though they had nothing to do with our table. One of the female managers was equally unfriendly when we had a request & quickly “put us in our place.” Some of the staff here definitely do not seem happy in their jobs, & with their surly attitudes, the only people they can take their frustrations out on is the guests, or so it seemed to me today. Needless to say, none of us will be back this summer. There are many other good patio restaurants in Vancouver where the staff are friendly & welcoming.

Bill Rogers

Tasteless bread and bland butter, super salty potato salad, small portions and unreasonable price. We went there for thanksgiving dinner and we were really disappointed.

alan moore

Great day today at Dockside for brunch! The cabana was ultra comfy and view is to die for. Food is top notch just like the service. Two thumbs up

Ross Walker

Terrible slow service.Food.was served cold.Coffe cold. Atmosphère nice near the water. Request patio seating. Best just to go for a drink.

Madi Mcl

We were there for a quick lunch. Nice location. Great food ????. Slightly pricy though.

Erikka Ogrodnick

Solid patio. Good eats and a decent craft beer list. Staff is very good.

Chris Parsons

Hidden behind the hotel is one of the best Patios in Vancouver.

Estelle Jacobson

Great atmosphere. The view is amazing. The food is decent with a good variety of choices. Friendly staff. We love coming here for our anniversary celebration.

Wendy Chou

My advice is to avoid this restaurant at all cost! The manager and hostess were rude and unhelpful, and I can honestly say this was one of the worst, if not the worst, dining experience in my life. Here is why. We arrived this morning just before opening to an empty restaurant and was told by an unfriendly and unhelpful hostess that they were fully booked for the day. Disappointed but curious, we searched on Opentable.ca and found plenty of tables available, so we made a reservation online and explained to the hostess that we were able to secure a table that way. It was very windy and chilly today, so before being escorted to our table, we asked if we can be seated by a heat lamp, and were told “no problem”. Upon arriving at our table, we noticed it was in a more open area of the patio, so we requested for a table with more covering to lessen the wind impact on our dining experience. Hostess said no because the other tables were reserved, so we proceeded to sit down. Within minutes of ordering our food, the panel of the heat lamp dislodged and slammed into the ground with a loud bang while disconnecting the heat source. This happened 4 times in less than 20 minutes, and the service staff had to come over to fix the panel and reconnect the heat source each time. Coupled with the loud bang that startled us and the other diners in the area, this really disturbed our dining experience and after the service staff gave up on fixing it, we requested to change tables. Service staff had no authority to make this change, so the manager was called over. The manager explained that due to the COVID-19 provincial order, diners cannot switch tables after being seated. What a ridiculous interpretation of the provincial order, which was designed to prevent table hopping. Her explanation was clearly for the convenience of her team who wouldn’t be bothered to sanitize and set up the table. She goes on to say that we should have dressed more appropriately for dining in an outdoor setting (which we did) and should have asked for a specific table before being seated (which we did). To make things worse, we observed multiple parties being offered to pick their tables during our short time there. Recognizing she was not listening to our concerns and failing to be flexible and accommodate our request, we asked for her name so we can pass on feedback on our situation. She told us her first name Cassidy but would not provide her last name, saying it was relevant. To Cassidy’s credit, she did come back to apologize and offered a 15% discount on our meal. By this point we were in complete shock and baffled at what just happened, and just wanted to finish our disappointing meal and never come back.

raul loo

The food was absolutely amazing. We went with a group and tried a good number of the items on the menu, and everything we ate was fantastic. I'm having a hard time choosing a favourite but I definitely recommend the pork belly bites, sablefish, prawns, skillet cheese rolls, and potato salad. The drinks menu is so-so, but the food is phenomenal. Will be going back very soon.

San

Celebrated my birthday here, the patio was gorgeous, the food was delicious and our waitress was very very kind. Will definitely come back, the cheese rolls are to die for!

Frank kern

we had a great time on Sunday night! Thank you Victoria for taking a good care of us! great food, excellent service !

Darlene Lawrence

Pleasantly surprised! Initially wasn't going to go due to reviews but we gave it a shot. Beautiful location, great patio. Appies were quite good and dinner a thumbs up. Had the prime rib, basically same cut and quality as the Keg. Had a great waiter so service was impressive to us. It's not over the top great but very satisfied and would return. Prices are a bit high but you're on Granville Island and in a hotel that's touristic. We do recommend giving this place a try.

Heather S

Absolutely appalled by their customer service. I spoke with Cassidy on the phone to book a reservation for our family. We have 5 kids, thus a family of 7. We understand the current regulations of table sizes not exceeding more than 6 people. Thus we wanted to break our family into a table of 4 and another table of 3. This is apparently is against their protocol, therefore they cannot accommodate families. So incredibly disappointing- was trying to get Beautiful birthday brunch planned. We have dinned out daily, and never experienced this. She was rude and condescending on top of that. Terrible! Don’t even bother, I couldn’t imagine what the customer service would be once we got there.

Kevin Harding

We had a fantastic breakfast with our kids. Great view, great service. Great food, very quick, thanks Coraa.

Andrea Liske

A 3.5-4. Everything was good, nothing was really great or exceptional to bump to 5. A nice experience to be by the water and have good service and crowd-friendly food.

R

Great patio! Food was pretty good. Service not so fast.

KD Maitland

Lunch was excellent accented by a great view. Halibut was delicious. Born and raised in Vancouver and first time eating here... not sure why I waited so long!

Lisa Rogers

Tourist trap with mediocre food and terrible service. If you want to be ignored for 2 hours, then by all means, this is the place for you. They had the audacity to still charge us for our drinks. After a 2 hour wait, they should have been free.

Rachel Hermary

We went there with a 2 year old baby and everyone was so patient and helpful and friendly. Not only the food and vibe are excellent, the service is exceptional. We will definitely come back.

Greg Tarr

Delicious food and a nice atmosphere

KY

We come here with the whole family! There's food here, just lick your fingers!

Alan Steele

I like to stop in with friends for drinks. We usually stick to the bar or patio. I haven't tried any of their food but found drinks service to be fast. The bar tenders always make conversation. They have their own good beer selection as well.

Sarah Stevenson

Arrived around 2pm on a Friday for an extended meal. Ordered drinks and several appetizers which were good. However, when we were prepared to order entrees, after 3pm, our waitress replaced our menus with happy hour menus. She later informed us that we could not order items from the other menu, only from the happy hour menu, which only included appetizers, salads, and pizzas. We had to leave to find another restaurant to eat at. Long story short, don’t come here between 3pm and whenever happy hour ends if you want to order a full meal.

Bill Suen

Food is great! Highly recommended!

ANDRII ZHEBROVSKYI

Cozy place at night with polite and smiling staff. Food was great-tasting and nicely presented. Clean washroom and lots of parking spots. Will come back during daytime for a more scenic view of the waterfront.

Кира Шафран

Beautiful location in the Granville hotel. Sunday brunch is great!

Richard Tou

Beautiful decor and amazing view, great service, lovely menu..????????

Ali Yah

This place has been captured as one of the best foods I tried in Vancouver. So fresh and so delicious! Sunny day, view from the window and great service were bonus on top of everything else

Pascal Pillot

Service was extremely good. Wait person was always aware of our needs but not intrusive. Four of us had very different meals and all were delicious. Dockside is our go to restaurant when we have out of town/country visitors. Never disappoints.

D Milburn

First evening out since fall 2020. Had a really lovely dinner. 6 of us and we all enjoyed out meal. The vongole was particularly good. Excellent service on a gorgeous (but chilly) evening. Excellent job looking after the vegetarian in our group, they came up with an excellent herb pasta dish.

Tony dez

Awesome location. Good food. Sat on a comfortable couch set in the patio. Really enjoyed ourselves.

Dave Brady

Incredible views of False Creek and Yaletown. The ambience and decor of the restaurant are fantastic and cool. Subtle... not flashy. The food is always fantastic and Patrick is probably one of the best servers in the city. I take all out of town guests and colleagues for dinner to Dockside as I've never been disappointed by the food, wine, cocktails or service. If you're looking for a nice evening, where you can spend some time and enjoy a meal and a view, you could do far worse in Vancouver than going to Dockside for dinner/lunch.

Elle Bea

My company has held the annual summer party at this place for the past 2 years and it has always been wonderful. Love the outdoor sitting area and the service. Would definitely return with out-of-town guests whenever I want ab afternoon drink during summer time.

Ben MyCree

The view and restaurant are both nice, but that’s where the positives end. We watched multiple servers walk past us with nothing on our table for at least 5 minutes, then waited another 10 for our beers that we could see ready on the bar to be delivered. Once they were finally dropped off, the waitress had a dirty glass on her tray along with our beers. The beers themselves were both not great and a bit on the flat side, I was expecting a lot more for being house brews. Not impressed and won’t be back.

Patsy Livingston

RIDICULOUSLY RUDE Costumer Service. Called to make a reservation and very aggressive and unwilling lady that answered my call, every answer to my question felt like a punch. Still being polite, I thanked for the call, and she finished it with slamming the phone. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR BRUNCH, GO TO OEB INSTEAD! September 28 at 12:38

Leslie Nicholson

Went for my birthday dinner. The table and view was great. The server Laura provided excellent excellent service. The food was v good except the Yorkshire buns were bit dry. The dessert was also excellent. Enjoyed it special with the travelzoo deal which included a glass of wine.

We were accommodated last minute for a party of 6, which I’m super grateful for. We don’t remember the name of the server that was working on Saturday October 2nd around 10:30pm. He was young, maybe in his 20’s? He was super quick to bring out our drinks, checked on us frequently and had an awesome friendly personality. Highly recommended booking your birthday here!

For an eggs benny that flavourless I’ll go to Denny’s and save myself the extra 15 dollars. The atmosphere is nice and the wait staff is good so I can’t totally pan this experience. But if your spending time at the dock or hotel save your money and go down the road and have something better.

Fantastic view. Sat out on the patio with waterfront views. Even though they were busy, they were able to accommodate us. Service was fast. We had fish and chips and salmon burger. I was pleasantly surprised that the salmon burger was actually a large piece of grilled salmon and not just some processed burger. The brioche bun was very fresh and so was the salad. The food was delicious and the meals were a good size. Overall very good ambiance, experience and service. Great value for the price.

My favourite Vancouver patio!

Omgosh! This place was absolutely amazing! It was so easy to make and change our reservations. I wanted a nice family meal for my twins third birthday and the three of us had the best time ever. The staff was so excited to make sure the night was special for us. The food was phenomenal! The selections were incredible. The atmosphere was so welcoming. I sincerely appreciate this wonderful establishment. This will always be a sentimental place for us. Thank You for everything!!!

I gave this 4 stars initiallly only because the company at my table could have been better (haha my family). Great experience really and a night to remember. 5 STARS!

Brunch and breakfast were both very enjoyable. Spectacular view of the harbor, and great service. Not too crowded both times we were there, and we also got a nice discount as we were staying at the hotel. Recommended if you are in the area.

Top Shop

Was there for a wedding - nice location/facilities, food was better than might be expected from such an event, the bar was pouring some premium local spirits and the staff/service was outstanding!

Alexa Mcmillan

There was a mixup with the receipt but they admitted their mistake and took an item off for us. Good service as well. Edit: I should mention that the item removed from the bill was an item that we DID order, and we didn't expect them to take it off.

Sierra Feldman

High expectations but the experience did not match. Our Waiter Jules ignored us most of the night. There were issues with the food and unfortunately had other issues but were basically as I said ignored. We asked another staff to speak to the manager. She took care of some items that were not eaten which we appreciate but would have preferred to have been served Properly and enjoyed dinner on the patio on a nice day. Probably won’t be back which is too bad.

Joshua Lin

Great views. Very nice place. Great patio. Food not so great. Go for drinks.

J Hernandez

Staff was friendly and fairly attentive. Breakfast was tasty although the hollandaise was overcooked. All in all a good breakfast. I'd dine here again when I return to the hotel.

Marius Van Andel

Always great food and friendly professional service.

Jean Hannon

Best waterfront view ever, very tasty menu, friendly professional staff. What else do you need to be happy ? Only good local wines ???????? and here they are as well !

Tessa Jane

I have been here a few times and it never disappointed until last night. The service was dismal and the food was mediocre at best. We’re told we had 2 hours however it took over 45 minutes for our appie to come then waited for our meal for another 15 minutes . The appie wasn’t what the menu indicated and the scallops were overdone. We asked for bread as we waited so long and we were told it wasn’t available. Never did get asked if we wanted dessert we left and went elsewhere for dessert. I will not be back.

It was our first time at this restaurant so we brought the kids! Right from the get go our waiter "Jules" was awesome! He tended to our every need. He was polite, witty and knowledgeable... we couldn't have asked for a better waiter. He made our whole evening! The view is fantastic and the food very good. We definitely recommend this restaurant and if you can ~ sit in "Jules" section! He is awesome.

We popped in here today for a bite to eat and a few appetizers. We found that the”greeter”, Erin to be cold and impersonal, members of the staff were swearing and raising their voices at each other in front of customers but our server Nathan was great for the main part. We did spend 10 minutes looking for him so that we could pay our bill. The food, beer and house wine was great. We don’t go out for appetizers just for the food though. Shape up and work on your staff model. We won’t be back. There’s so many places in Vancouver with great food and costumer service to match.

Christine Conlin

I have to say that I/we were highly disappointed and I was vexed with the main course. The service was so so. Writing what this doesn't say it all. We were there this past summer and it was amazing, as well as the service, that's why we went back. The manager (obviously useless) did nothing about our experience, regardless of how much we spent there.

Sunny Khatkar

Restaurant wasn't busy. The host sat us on the patio by the front door and we waited 15 minutes to be served. No one came by. So we left. I won't be back.

J B

Food was good and the patio was beautiful!

Sabrina Powar

You can find better service at McDonald's or Dennys. Seriously.

Doug Badger

You pay for the view and extra-mile friendly service. The food was alright. Enjoyed the dessert, chocolate apricot mousse.

Chris Tentzerakis

Such a great location and view! The food and service were great.

Zach Guy

I booked a table for my Mom and I for 4:45pm to catch happy hour. We were seated at about 4:50pm with a happy hour menu. We ordered happy hour wine with the happy hour menu that was given to us, then we were told last call for happy hour was already done. What’s the point being seated with the happy hour menu? We still had almost 10 minutes until it was over at 5pm. Pretty ridiculous. Service was great. Flat bread was good but could have done without the pea risotto. A disappointing experience given the reputation of the restaurant.

Geoffery Allan

Went for Christmas day brunch today and it was amazing - our first time in the restaurant but we'll certainly be back for this brunch again. Very well staffed, and staff very cheerful. We did not have a view of the water as we were a large party, (which were placed in more of an inner room) but it was decorated beautifully and we had a great table for having several babies with us. Our waiter (should have gotten his name) could not have been more attentive and cheerful, and we thought the price was very fair considering it included almost every kind of food one could imagine. I can see why people make this a yearly event, as several others told me. Well done.

Ronaldo Moe

The set up for 20 was beautiful, the food and wine were excellent and we had attentive service from Jason and the rest of the team.

Tarman Singh

Clerk I D 1511 was exceptional with service, efficiency and caring. We had 4 issues, 2 Seafood Chowders arrived cold, My napkin had a 2 1/2" orange stain on it, Wine glass was definitely dirty on the inside. Our Excellent server took care of all issues immediately. We come here often because of the Great Food taste and Service. However not so much with your valet and his partner at the Hotel front desk. Both need a speedy course in attitude correctness towards the customer, in particular a person called "PARV!"

Harris Ryan

Really good. Here for an event. Excellent service. Great food.

Ben B

Beautiful view and very friendly staff

Renee Andrews

My wife and I first time here. Food was great! And our waiter, Patrick was AWESOME! Very welcoming and it felt like we known each other for years. Kudos to the entire staff at Dockside ????

Suzanne Aoun

Excellent patio and view. Food was good but the service really lets this place down. Not very attentive and we just finished dinner and while ordering more drinks were told we had to leave in 15 minutes. I’ve got no issue if they impose time limits on tables but please tell your patrons in advance, not 15 minutes before you need the table! Left a bitter taste for sure and we missed out on dessert :-(

james smith

Just had drinks and snaks. It is a pricy place and the food was very simple. The terrace area is a beautiful spot to sit for drinks in a nice afternoon.

Beth Walters

Paid $52 for the "butchers cut" 10oz ribeye and got superstore cut..

Umut Polat

Dishes were beyond salty! Server was slow to greet to take order to pay the check! What an ugly christmas it was!

Jerry Gill

Went there for a birthday celebration. We opted for patio dining which was so enjoyable. View was incredible and service was on point. Our server was incredibly sweet and very prompt.

tracie sayers

GREAT patio, food is good. I had mother's day brunch there and enjoyed the sun, service and location!

Steve Mcrae

My boyfriend and I went there to celebrate our birthdays and we had the best experience ever! The staff made our night very pleasant and memorable! I wish I could give more stars! The views are spectacular and the atmosphere is just great. You feel very welcomed as soon as you enter. The food is amazing! Best restaurant in Vancouver! I highly recommend this beautiful place. Thank you for making our night so special!

Derek L

We came here for my mom's birthday breakfast while she is visiting from South Africa. The hostess was clearly having an off day, she looked grumpy and angry. There was no welcome, no eye contact no smile, I thought she was going to either start yelling or crying... it was that bad! After we sat down, there was no sever in sight, it would have been nice to start with a bottle of champagne. Then the breakfast menu is boring and un-imaginative. Needless to say we got up and walked out to avoid spoiling our day any further. If you are looking for decent breakfast rather go to Yolks, Fable Diner or Jam. I wouldn't waist my time going back here.

Not only does Granville island lack in restaurants serving brunch, but Dockside takes the cake. With a very pricey menu, and god awful service. You’ll be left with quite the sour taste in your mouth. The scenery is great. It gets the 2 stars. The unhappy under paid servers get minus 3 stars. As a local, I don’t recommend this place to locals. Leave it for the tourists that don’t know any better.

Jordana Dodek

Decent minus one odd speaker playing static

Артур Коваленко

Wonderful views, amazing food and superb customer service-thanks to Patrick our server who was extremely knowledgeable and gave an amazing recommendations and presentation.
