Here you have all the feddbacks of real people who consumed the services of Cioppino's Mediterranean Grill (Restaurant) in Vancouver (Canada).
At the moment this firm has a rating of 4.7 stars out of 5 and that score was based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that it reaches an reviews average is almost the highest, and it's based on a high number of feddbacks, so we may say that the rating is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to value when they are happy with the service, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to write evaluations when these are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant is classified in the category of Mediterranean restaurant.
Awesome!
Great spot for Italian food. Their service is impeccable! So much care and meticulousness put into (I'm sure) each table. My partner treated my family to a dinner here and it was a great place to "wow" them. We were very impressed with their delicious appies. We ordered their beef carpaccio, scallops, and prosciutto to start. We could not find a fault in these dishes. I had their special venison with blueberry sauce and seasonal greens and the chocolate cannoli with passionfruit. The one thing that I would critique is the portion sizes, which are smaller than an average restaurant. That being said, it was not unexpected for a fine dining experience so I can't say that it was a disappointment. Overall, I would return to try some pastas on their menu and recommend others to make a visit.
We went looking for dessert/coffee and were glad to have found Cioppino's! The staff was welcoming and the ambiance really brought it all together. Would highly recommend checking it out for a special occasion!
Love it here.
Really nice restaurant. Expensive end of the stick but it is worth it. Quality venue, food, wine and service. Great attention to detail on all parts. The food is sensational. Classic greats done to perfection. The mosf extensive wine list I've seen, from affordable to the insane ($5k a bottle!). I'll be making this a regular on my calendar from now on.
We chose Chioppino's for our wedding anniversary and we expected it to be nice, but our experience there ended up being way-way more than we imagined. The food was incredible, it's one of those 'I don't even know what I am eating, but it's out of this world!' places. The service was amazing as well, of a kind of quality that is very rare for Vancouver. We walked out smiling and tingling with happiness. It's an absolute hidden gem and a must try!
Great Food, Never Dissappoints. Booked the Wine room for a surprise birthday for the Mrs. and they made sure to accomodate my requests and exceeded expectations!!
Great as always. Made wifey's day with a surprise on her bday.
If you are Asian ,don't go ! I have never experience anything this racist in Vancouver . Upon we arrived ,the host didnt have any smile ,and didn't greet us or say hi.she was just standing there waiting for us to speak. We were group of 8 .one of our friend was late because of the delay flight . We told the waiter that he will be at lease 30min late even an hour . We wanted to order first . But the waiter refused .he said "I can only take FULL ORDER" If you want to have your food fast ,tell your friend to hurry . Our waiter was just indifferent and didn't care in the beginning , bit when it close to the end of dinner . He started to rush us ,and gave us a look . When he turned around serving white customer ,he was full of smile , attentive ,even abit humor.
Absolutely wonderful food, drinks and thee most amazing waitess
Great service, great food. We ordered the chef's table, so each dish was a surprise! Generous ingredients (e.g. white truffle powder, black truffles from Australia winter harvest, fresh scallops, top grade uni), and just the right portions (for a small Asian with a big appetite haha) over a 5 course meal plus dessert. Chef coming out to greet us was a pleasant surprise! Will get the scallops with wild mushrooms and truffle foam again and again.
Fantastic food & service
Hands down the best Italian restaurant in Vancouver.
Super expensive food with extremely small portions. Food tasted good though. The wine selection is staggering!
Can't have a better meal in Canada
This has been a pretty reliable Italian restaurant for about 20 years. The kitchen appears to be incredibly clean and the staff pretty well trained. It seems that he has a small army in the both the front and kitchen area. Pino's food quality has been fairly consistent during the times we have visited his restaurant. However, like many places, there has been a slight decline over the years. I have rated Cioppino's at 5/5 stars, the same as Giardino's but have say that Giardino's is slightly better. Just as one example, the cannoli at Giardino's is better than at Cioppino's. However neither cannoli come close to the cannoli at Eataly in NYC. I plan to go back to NYC just for a cannoli and to once more dine at Chef's Table (Brooklyn Fare) - at this moment, the greatest restaurant in NYC (and perhaps the world).
This is the best Italian restaurant in Canada. You must try to pappardelle it’s to die for! Love the service, love the food, love the wine. Chef Pino really cares about his craft and you can feel it the moment you walk in and in every bite!
Superb! Great food and excellent wine menu! These guys really know their wines! Love the decor and authentic Italian feel to the restaurant. Staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. We were there for their annual wine and feast event. It was amazing. Lots of good energy and positive vibes. Highly recommended!
Best ofthe best
(Translated) Best Italian restaurant in town (Original) El mejor restaurante italiano en la ciudad
Delicious Italian restaurant, homemade spaghetti and it tasted delicious. The staff was so kind and I have nothing bad to say about this place.
One of the best fine dinning restaurants I have tried in the city. Food is great, ambiance great, and Pino the chef a master!
Super great food!! Will be back, my out of town guests and business partners were impressed.
Great traditional Italian fare. We found the service a bit overbearing.
Great ???????? quality restaurant in Yaletown pleasant patio for a fine dining in downtown Vancouver.
Great place, but the portions were rather small. I had to go out for a slice of pizza to get full.
Good food, excellent ambiance..
Very nice Italian restaurant with amazing service. I would rate this 4.5 Stars if I could. to me it doesn't deserve five star because the food is not overly creative although it's still classic Italian at its best. Had the lobster linguine and the veal porterhouse.
What a great dining experience we had at Cioppino's! You can tell that their dishes are made with a lot of thought and care. Everything we had was so delicious: the wild shrimp appetizer, basil almond pesto pasta and the rack of lamb. The bread and hummus was honestly some of the best bread and hummus I've ever had. Our server, Pierre, was so knowledgeable about the menu and the added interaction with Chef made the night that more memorable. Thank you Cioppino's for an amazing experience!
Great service, impressive plating, lacks full flavor
excellent authentic food and service
Service
Amazing food !! Very quick response with great service!!
Amazing experience! The daily specials and menu staples are very innovative and adventurous, each bite is savoured. The staff totally pampered us; they showed impressive plating skills for all our shared dishes and constantly checked in to ensure we had full glasses and satisfied palates. Owner Chef Pino was on the floor and in the kitchen; it's great to see him happily being so involved! The only improvement I'd suggest is better signage at the main entrance; it is dark and hidden, making it easy to miss.
DON'T ORDER THE SPECIAL. Chef Pino should be embarrassed to serve what waiter sold as"rare treat" black truffle risotto. When I told waiter it didn't taste anything like truffle, he admitted they aren't Italian truffles, but something from Australia. They tasted like nothing, not even a mushroom. I paid $50 for a bowl of rice! Shameful.
Great food and always amazing service. Love coming here. Every time I come here is is excellent and they really know how to make you feel special. I wish they were open for lunch I crave there food so much :)
Excellent food, lovely service. Had a beautiful birthday meal, would go back for sure.
Service was great. Food was good. If you like wine, this place has a massive collection. Would recommend this place for fine dining. Steak was quite good, ive had better, but I wont hold that against them. You wont be disappointed.
Excellent food and service. Our server Pierre was very knowledgable about the food and ingredients and made good recommendations. We tasted many items and shared family style. My favourite was the thin egg noodle king crab pasta and gnocchi.
One of the best meals I have ever consumed after visiting many places around the world. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy a very classy meal served and cooked by professionals. The black truffle was a very nice treat. Would love to what the foam is.
Unbelievable food, great service. A very nice downtown date night place. Is pricey and smaller portions that are meticulously presented. Definitely will return.
Went for my wife’s birthday. Well executed meal. Service was absolutely impeccable. Definitely has a bit of an old world feel. Flavour combos were insane — if you can get the sea urchin pasta. We’re in black truffle season so there was some insane combos. Feels like a good spot to take someone who loves good food but isn’t too adventurous. Will definitely take someone like my dad here.
We had an absolutely fantastic experience here. Wine, delicious food, and an amazingly friendly server (Pierre?). I highly recommend listening carefully to the extensive specials list as the veal&tuna ravioli was delicious. Don't forget dessert, lots of in house chocolate dishes. The chocolate four ways is not to be missed.
Excellent food. Good variety on menu.
A yaletown classic, truly one of the best in the city, you feel so taken care of the food is so thoughtful and amazing it’s truly a great experience beginning to end you can see why so many people have cioppinos on the top of their list as a must visit when in vancouver. Lobster bisque, Spaghetti “alle vongole” , prosciutto di parma, such amazing, classic flavors Italian done the right way.
Thales gave us a SUPERB service. Food was excellent. The combination of service a excellent food really made our evening unforgettable in Vancouver. Our compliments to the chef and our waiter Thales.THANK YOU!!!
Unbelievable food and a fantastic wine selection. Ask Pino, one of the owners, to cook for you Italian wedding style.
Really liked Cioppinos. I didn't particularly like the Ossu Buko I ordered as it was super chewy, however I have a feeling that I would have liked most other things on the menu. The friend I went with really liked his food. The service experience was the single best experience with the most attentive staff that I've ever had. Real Top echelon fine dining service. Was fun to experience. Looking to go again soon.
Great food and quiet atmosphere

One of Vancouver’s best! Great, friendly staff, a must visit when in Vancouver. Amazing food and service, all just perfect. See you again.
I had dinner here with my family for a special occasion. The food is so good and tasty!!!!! I felt like I was in Italy in an excellent authentic Italian restaurant. Food is very well presented and chefs take great pride in their dishes. I also loved the service, it was great and servers know the dishes very well and can give you suggestions and recommendations. It is a very high standard restaurant so it isn't a cheap option, but remember that what you get is of a very high quality. Only suggestion I have for the restaurant owner is to maybe change the tables outside....They are too small for 4 people, I think. Other than that, it was a great experience and I cannot wait to go back!!!
My favorite Italian Restaurant. Love the service and the food is amazing. Service is wonderful, even if just stop by for drinks the staff and everyone are always wonderful to me. Highly recommend Cioppinos.
Beautiful atmosphere, I had the lobster bisque and it was divine! Bread at the table was too crusty for my taste and the duck liver pate was a little tame. Wait staff was almost over attentive but they definitely know their stuff. Well done!
I came here for my anniversary. The service was great! The servers were very attentive. The food was excellent! Definitely will be back.
best Italian restaurant in Vancouver! The food can be little salty sometimes but other than that, it's perfect
Went to Cioppino's for a business meeting. All 3 courses were outstanding, prepared with fresh seasonal ingredients, very flavorful. Staff was very accommodating, as my business partner and I spent about 3 hours at the restaurant. Beautiful, relaxed atmosphere. Thank you Chef Pino and staff.
Quite A Wonderful Evening for our Birthday Celebration. From the very first moment we arrived the staff were friendly, warm, welcoming, and totally focused on our having the best experience possible..Our food was outstanding, especially the duck and out Tiramisu dessert made the final eating experience that much extra special... We walked out into the evening feeling very special that we chose Cioppino’s for our special event...
Had a set course menu and every course was a winner. Impeccable service.
Impeccable!!!!!! From the moment we walked in we were treated like royalty. We had a table of eight and were undecided on what we wanted. Chef Pino and his staff took care of us. From start to finish, every dish was next level. The sea urchin pasta was to die for....seriously that good. The wine list is one of best I've ever seen, its so deep and stacked with back vintages....heaven. Honestly, I don't think I've ever had a better experience at a restaurant. If you love food and wine Cioppino's should be at the top of your bucket list!!!!!
Great food, ambiance, knowledgeable staff.
Excellent!
This place was absolutely phenomenal!
Compliments to the chef! The food was absolutely amazing, and hands down the BEST Italian restaurant in Vancouver. Service is also great as you'll have several people helping you during your meal. Would HIGHLY recommend, and would definitely go back to try other menu items. Absolutely delicious!
The quality and level of service at this restaurant lives up to the hype. While the wine list (book) may be somewhat daunting at first (note whites are sorted by grape and reds are sorted inexplicably by region) the servers are happy to distil the perfect bottle for your meal. Speaking for myself and my partner the meal was delectable. Plated swiftly and professionally all three of the courses easily garnered 'lick the plate clean' status. The Porcini and Chestnut Soup was a sensory delight, which balanced the Cioppino main well. I will absolutely be back; though my pocket book will need to recover slightly.
Food is OK at best, service was horrible.
I saw roberto luongo here once a few years ago
Dine in
Great place! Great owner!
Had an event for twenty-three clients in the wine room, the service and food were truly world class.
Excellent ambience...great waitress
One of the finest in Vancouver. Love the food and service.
My family likes to come here to have a dinner. Very nice atmosphere and very friendly staff.
I had such a lovely birthday dinner here. Every single bite from start to finish was incredible. Our server was so attentive without being overbearing. The wine recommations were on point. I can't wait to be back!

Good food, love the wine, and great service! Must try the chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream! Bomb ????????
Fantastic dinner, great service
Man what a special restaurant this is, all the dishes were cooked to perfection. Amazing seafood and steak! Chef Pino even came by to introduce himself to us. Amazing environment to enjoy ones quality time. Will most definitely be coming back for years to come. Thank you Chef Pino ! I give it 10 stars!
Outstanding food and atmosphere ❤ Great service ???? Brought our almost 5 month old and they were so accommodating!
Since we moved to the mainland two years ago my wife and I have been searching for a restaurant we would want to return to again and again. As much as we like to try new places, it's great to have a place that you can rely on time and time again. Cioppino's has been on our radar for some time but I never really looked into it because I ignorantly though Italian food equals pasta which would mean limited options for my wife who is celiac. For whatever reason, when we were trying to decide on a restaurant to celebrate my birthday we looked at the menu and discovered not only was I wrong to be concerned about no gluten free options, there were so many options for my wife that we were simply amazed! Score 1 for Ciopinno's!! We immediately went on to OpenTable to make a reservation and I was admittedly a little nervous. We hoped for a Friday evening right in the middle of a busy Christmas season with less than three weeks notice. Go figure, no times available for the time we wanted or any days on either side of it. Or the weekend before or after. Ugh, stress. We found a time during the week that we were able to make work and then I decided to embrace my one ongoing "slogan" I share with my kids. "If you don't ask, the answer is always no". On this thought, I chose too send a brief email to the restaurant with an honest request for the Friday evening we hope for. I was floored when I received an email the very next morning from Pino himself to inform me that he would accommodate our request. Score 2 for Cioppinos!! The atmosphere in Cioppinos is delightful. The lighting is very soft and relaxing and the room had this whole comfy Italian villa feel to me. Our charming server was very accommodating with our menu questions and if she didn't know the answer (which was rare) she was quick to admit she didn't know and equally quick to return with an answer. The menu is very well organized with gluten free items clearly indicated and numerous. Score 3 for Cioppinos! We started with appetizers. The Fritto misto di pescato del Pacifico was a rare treat for my wife who doesn't get to have lightly battered gluten free items very often at all. Texture-wise, octopus can be a little difficult for me but this was certainly not the case here. Our other appetizer was a special that evening. It was a generously sized piece of Burrata cheese with marinated eggplant and a mindblowingly good fried artichoke. I could eat this appetizer for the rest of my days and be perfectly happy. I believe this brings the score to 5. For the main course my wife had the Ossobucco from the main menu and I had a Wild Boar that was a special that evening. The little touches like a small (and super cute) little spoon to get at the marrow in the Ossobucco and just the perfect amount of apricot chutney with my boar were subtle and appreciated. The entrees themselves were perfection. I think that is now 7 for Cioppinos. Just before dessert, we were treated to a lovely piece of Limoncello Cheesecake. As amazing as it was I still had my heart set on another dessert item. The Tiramisu was a no brainer for me. It is a dessert that has consistently fought for back and forth with Key Lime Pie for number one in my heart. For what it's worth, Pino's Tiramisu would deliver a knockout punch every time. Sorry Key Lime Pie. Score two more for Cioppinos! At some point during this time, Pino even came by to see how we were doing. He is apparently there five days a week and constantly moving about the restaurant making sure everything is perfect and it is evident in everything we experienced from making our reservation all the way to the end of our meal and getting our coats before leaving. The entire experience, and I would qualify going to Cioppinos as an experience, was an easy 10 out of 10 for me and I eagerly anticipate our next opportunity to experience it again. If you can read this, you also get a 10 out of 10, for review reading perseverance. Cheers!!
Amazing food and service, very nice, warm room. Had one of the best truffle dishes I've had. Can't wait to go back!
Amazing Italian food! ????
Great authentic Italian food
Perfect restaurant for a romantic date. The steaks here are amazing!
I didn't know there were that many different types of wine, amazing place for date night. Its a classy place, don't wear your duds.
Chef Pino’s always around and when he’s around magic always happens.
Scallops are from heaven in this place. professional service, great selection of wines. All these won't come cheap though
Slightly over priced for what is offered but the food is delicious.
Amazing experience overall.
Simply great
Amazing food and ambiance. Everything tastes so different and delicious. Celery root mash as a side dish itself is absolutely creative. Fabulous Foie gras appie! Generally speaking food and drinks are unique. Only critique on my main is that the duck skin was not crispy as it was mentioned on the menu. We’ve been there twice in past two months for our anniversary and Valentine’s. Service was great in our first visit but unfortunately we were very disappointed by the service on Valentine’s dinner visit. It took us over 15’ to order our first drinks and another 15’ to see our server to order our appetizers. Service was not as friendly as expected this time.
I went to Ciopinno's yesterday evening and upon arrival the host did not greet us, and when she did speak to us, she seemed very hostile. She told us that all tables were full and it'll be about 30 minutes for a table and took our phone number to call us. 30 minutes later we phoned back to see how our table was doing and we were then told that they will not be seating anyone else. Never again. I highly recommend people take their money to restaurants that's actually want business.

Ambiance. Service. Food & wine on point.
I started phoning Cioppino's yesterday to make a reservation for tonight, which is our anniversary. I phoned 7 or 8 times, during business hours, always just getting the message machine. No one ever picked up. Finally, I decided to leave a message around 7 p.m. No response last night. Today, at 1:20 someone returned my call and said that the restaurant was fully booked. I asked, very politely, why it took so long for someone to get back to me and why no one answered the phone yesterday (while the restaurant was open). The man said that he had to respond to 29 requests for invitations. He was incredibly rude and hung up on me. This is "kindness" in the face of pandemic????? I will NEVER go to Cioppino's again and recommend that you don't go as well, unless you like rudeness. Follow up: I stand by my comment that you were curt and rude on the phone. My partner, who was standing beside me during the phone conversation, was equally surprised by the experience. As well, I/we have been at Cioppino's many, many times over the years, both for business and for personal occasions. I have enjoyed your restaurant and the food and the staff have always been great. Sadly, it sometimes takes just one negative experience to sour someone on a place. And as for your saying you were "very kind to call you, responding to 29 messages", I would hope you would call a potential customer back. That is pretty much how a business works. I'm sure you were overwhelmed with your 29 messages but in today's business climate (thank you Covid), perhaps you could do so in a more calm and patient manner.
Loved the Food as always, loved the restaurant ambience, but, most of all the service [ask for Thales]
Great wine, nice location, friendly and efficient staff, cozy and dim atmosphere
Excellent service, excellent food, wide selection of wines and champagne. Best Italian restaurant in Vancouver. Bravo!
Some of the best food I've ever had. Had a variety of appetizers and the Wild Boar from Alberta for the entree. Highly recommend this place!
I always have a great experience at Cioppinos, the food, staff and atmosphere are always on point. Would highly recommend! Yesterday I was in and had the Alba white truffle tagliatelle it was beyond delicious!
Great food! Wonderful service! Amazing drinks Pasta was fresh and flavorful. The table next to us had the feature of truffles and the entire restaurant was that beautiful fragrance. I saw lots of families with kids, which gave that warm inviting feeling.
Really impressed by this restaurant.
Dinner
Amazing food and amazing service, thank you Frederic for a wonderful night with the family
Everything was just perfect! Excellent food execellent service!
Many options for drinking wine.
I've always wanted to go to a fancy restaurant where the portions are tiny, but they taste amazing, so it reminds us we don't need to eat a lot to survive - we just need to eat well.
Good grief, what a great dinner. Veal scallopini was excellent as was the risotto. The lemon tart for desert was the best we’ve ever had. We’d come back here in a heartbeat

Great place for great food
Came here for a company holiday dinner. While everything was delicious, the portions between each person varried a lot. As we were a large group we had to pick from a set menu. It was decent but the previous times I've come here and ordered a la carte, everything was AMAZING. This place is my "quick" and amazingly delicious bite before going to go watch a game or see a concert at Rogers/BC Place. My favourite is the pasta dish with veal and mushrooms. ????
This restaurant is fantastic. They have an amazing wine/spirits selection, a Dom Perignon room and the food is flavourful and decadent. The service is upscale and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Fred served me at the bar and he was delightful and professional. This is a 5 star restaurant without a doubt.
Amazing service and attention to detail. The food was incredible.. loved the scallops, they were perfectly cooked. All 4 of us ordered a pasta dish.. I had the egg noodle with King crab, it was so fresh and delicious. I tried the lobster linguine, and that was even better! We came for my birthday last night and I had a great experience, they even brought me chocolate mousse with a candle at the end of our meal. Highly recommend this place!
Awesome food and atmosphere
We went for a special birthday dinner on Friday night. The service was fantastic, best I have experienced in Vancouver. The potato gnocchi was fabulous! Everyone was very happy with their meals and deserts. Crusty bread with a hummus type spread and olive oil. Our server brought the birthday person a special desert with a lit candle. I reccomend it.
This place has amazing good. Probably the best fine dine restaurant in Vancouver. They have delicious pastas and main course. They offer complimentary bread and hummus which is to die for. The desserts are really amazing too. The soft heart chocolate cake is delish!
This is a super celiac friendly place! The staff, atmosphere and food are all outstanding and I can't wait for my next visit! The bar is incredibly stocked, and the cocktails are creative and delicious. There's a reason this place is on Canada's Top 100, the menu is creative and memorably delicious!
Service second to none in Vancouver. We started with the scallops followed by the ribeye and sable fish both fantastic. The ribeye was billed as "no fat" figure that one out. Had to have it out of curiosity, and it paid off.
Biggest Scallop I've ever seen! Waiters have great french accents
Delicious good and good atmosphere
The food is out of this world. Its not even fair to compare to other places i've been. I love to take my partner here for our special occasions, she adores it, as do I.
Highly recommend! Great service and amazing food. We had the ribeye and lobster linguine. Both perfect. Featured appetizer of zucchini blossom was lovely. Wine suggestions were spot on. We had a hard time deciding on deserts so we got two. Yummy.
Amazing service. Delicious food, pasta made in house, the burrata and other items are shipped directly from Italy, a spectacular wine selection. Your senses will not be disappointed, the experience is worth every penny.
Delicious******
By far, the best Italian restaurant I have been to in years. The chef, Pino, is very personable, hospitable, talented and passionate about his food. Eden and the supporting staff made sure our meal exceeded our expectation. I’m in a food coma right now (just ate there). I feel like I traveled to southern Italy and came back. Try the sicillian cannolis with a black americano! To die for!
(Translated) Exceptional service. (Original) Serviço excepcional.
Outstanding service. Great ambiance. Delicious food, beautifully presented.
Ciopinno’s continues to be me and my bf’s favourite restaurant in Vancouver. Not only does Chef Pino put hard work and love in ever single dish the service is exceptional. The pasta is literally the best and so fresh and the warm chocolate cake (lava cake) is the best thing I’ve ever had. I’m very surprised busy busy Chef Pino takes time to remember customer’s likes and tastes. I’ve asked for chilli oil with my pasta in the past and now, everytime he brings a side of chilli oil with my pasta and remembers that I like truffle accents on my carpaccio. I’m so glad we no longer have to struggle to think about which restaurant to go to when we want to eat out because our top pick now is Cioppino’s!
Dinner
The best Italian restaurant in Vancouver, amazing food, good service...remind me Italy.
Excellent food and service! Reservation greatly recommended.
Food were awesome, excellent service
This is one of the finest restaurants in Vancouver. Great venue with many dinning areas which can accommodate parties of one all the way up to 50. I've eaten here close to a dozen times and never been disappointed. The food is always fresh, tasty and served quickly from very knowledgeable staff. They can also quickly change the meal to accommodate gluten sensitivity etc. Cioppino's is an excellent choice for a nice dinner out.
The best food I think I've probably ever eaten. The service was top drawer for sure.
Excellent and very personable service. The food was excellent. Cocktails we're good but nothing exceptional. Would eat here again.
Service
Amazing Italian restaurant! I've been to very fine restaurants around the globe and I am really impressed with the creations, atmosphere and service at Ciopinno's. Chef Pino Posteraro is truly a master and artist at his craft.
Fish seafood, surprising good!
Service
This is an establishment for all seasons. Some go in open neck shirts, some in jeans, while others, especially at dinner time, are dressed up formally. They all commingle in an open hall and are served by seasoned waiters some with a deep sense of humor. They seem to convey the impression that they have seen it all and now impart their experiences through good natured remarks, as a way of entertaining their valued patrons. A decidedly good place to spend an evening of fine foods and drinks. Located in a densely populated part of Yale Town steps from the stretch of waters that cut Vancouver into here and there, you haven't really dined in the best of the city if you have yet to visit Cioppino's. One caveat. If you are fond of Lobster Bisque, this place serves it white, and not golden brown. That's another uniqueness about the restaurant.
Pretty men
The chef special, so good I got laid by my wife.
Everything was amazing, service, decor, food was outstanding.
Service
The cioppino was delicious, the tenderloin cooked to perfection and the service was attentive to make our experience wonderful. Highly recommend the lobster bisque as it was light and incredibly flavorful.
FOOD HAS DECLINED NEEDS TO Be more discerning been going there for 20 yes.Time to reevaluate!
Amazing food service and atmosphere. Best dining experience I've had Vancouver.
Top quality Italian cuisine!
Dinner
Pino's restaurant was voted top Italian restaurant on some shady bribed magazine or survey. After living in VANCOUVER and in the restaurant industry for 20+ years i ask you to not support this misogynistic abuse chef. Overpriced, cheap food... Chef known for physical and mental outlashes against cooks, servers.
Delicious! Great food, great service.
My favorite place in Vancouver great every time
Consistent, high quality and personal attention from the owners. A solid choice for high end Italian food.
Excellent food and service!
(Translated) Perfect thanks (Original) Perfect grazie
Dining at Cippino's is more of an experience then a meal out. The service combined with a memorizing meal can not be beaten. Only the best to say about Chef Pino and his entire staff. I would strongly suggest doing a Chef's Tasting menu. They honestly make you feel like family!
Never lets me down
Great food great service
Amazing food and ambience and service was great!
Meal type
We just got back to Ottawa and we miss this place already !
Our favourite Italian place in the city. Consistently great food and a good wine selection. Service and atmosphere are awesome as well. Definitely a 5/5
This is one of the best places to eat in Canada. Always a memorable meal.
Greay experience!! Service was friendly an professional. I had a huge 4 courses dinner. Real Italian dinner experience. Ill be back for sure.
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Every dish was very flavourful and beautifully served! Let’s get down to business with the dishes :) Foie Gras : I can say this was the best foie gras I ever had, very generous with the portion and it immediately melts into your mouth (fav dish if you’re a foie gras lover) Hokkaido Scallops: the pan seared mushrooms complimented the scallops. The waiters were making it “rain” with their truffle. The scallops were not seasoned much so the mushrooms can give it that extra POW. I like how they did this so you can control the flavours to your own taste (more flavour, add more mushrooms to your bites). The scallops was a bit overcooked - but this is my personal preference since I like it barely cooked lol Uni pasta: I didn’t see it on their menu, but if you love saucy and creamy sauce. Mix the uni with the pasta and that is what you will get. The uni wasn’t fresh to my taste but it’s probably because I came late night for dinner. It was delicious regardless Sablefish: you can never go wrong with sablefish. This was my least favourite because it tastes generic. Maybe because all the previous dishes we had before this has a unique taste and was amazing Panna Cotta of Lychee: YES! End it with this refreshing sweet dessert. Also has a crumble for texture. It’s not too sweet and it feels like a palette cleanser after all the food! Customer service: wonderful service, checked on us frequently and when dishes came out they served it on our plates since we were sharing Price: worth the price! The quality, presentation and flavours made me satisfied :) Portions: fine dining size Interior: sets a romantic setting. Dimmed lights and spacious. Overall: amazing and would highly recommend!
Owners and staff provide a unique experience and the food is out of this world delicious!
Excellent in all ways. The chef made sure we enjoyed the meal (which was delicious) and the service was incredible. Highly recommend
Eating here put the brakes on my 3 day manic depressive episode. Five stars.
Best Italian/Mediterranean in Yaletown. Have gone here 3 years in a row for birthday and always go for special occasions. Has great private party rooms as well for business or social.

Amazing restaurant!! Service is beyond perfect even during the current times. Food is so delicious and wine list is extensive.
Love this place, classic, great wine, great food, nice services too. best mediterranean food I ever had. must try the beef carpaccio!
Phenomenal service. Some of the best I’ve ever had. Food was very good.
Christian & Pino are awesome Very nice
Amazing food. Great location for a team get together
Amazing!
Celebrate my wedding Ceremony here, impressed by the chef to table.
Excellent service and food. Highly recommend any of the pastas on the menu! My personal favorite the gnocchi (best I’ve had in Vancouver). Only thing upsetting was the tenderloin. The side of peas and bok choy were questionable and ok at best. Go for the pasta and drinks but skip on the tenderloin.
Surprisingly good for here. Although it got good reviews for some reason I didn't think too much about this place. Definitely went beyond what I expected. Very good food. Especially the desserts were amazing
Good selection of food and drinks, homey service
also a very good takeout counter with cooked and mediterannean deli style offerings.
My favorite restaurant. This is a high end restaurant with amazing chef's. Food is incredible. Their chocolate lava cake is amazing. Food is not cheap here, so if your shocked by prices, you probably won't want to eat here. But you pay for what you get. Great place for intimate dining.
Food and Service was amazing. Beautiful atmosphere too
What a wonderful dining experience, my wife and I had a table on the patio this evening, the food is fantastic from appetizer right through to desert, simply the best we have ever had, a big shoutout to our server Alanna she was amazing, and a big thanks to Chef Pino for the beautiful food experience and taking the time to come by our table and greet us, this is a must on any foodies list
Visited Cioppino's on a recent visit to Vancouver. Chef prepared a six-dish tasting menu which was exceptional in both taste and presentation. Service was top-notch with a friendly and attentive staff. I'd recommend Cioppino's if you're looking for a unique upscale dining experience.
Straight poo stain
Pricey but so good! Service was great too.
A really nice selection of wines
Dinner
Expensive decent service
The BEST!
Should be Canada's first Michelin * what else can I say!
Even after so many years, Cioppino's still sets the bar for Italian fine dining in Vancouver. Dishes are creative, yet rooted in tradition. Service is outstanding (extraordinary by local standards). And Chef Pino is the perfect balance of iron fist in the kitchen, and warm host to his guests. This is the place you want to choose for your special night out!
The best restaurant in Vancouver! We had Burrata with eggplants salad to start. The eggplants and the source were extremely delicious. We also got Brasato al Barolo and Tagliolini capesante e gamberi. Both dishes were delightful. Highly recommended.
Had a holiday set dinner with a large party and the service and food was excellent! Very attentive staff. Pino himself came out several times to tell jokes and to make sure everything was ok!
Went here for dinner. Its a bit on the expensive side, but the truffle and wagyu beef are makes it worth while.
Amazing service, very professional staff and the food was delicious!
Simply amazing. Especially the Lobster pasta and the dessert!
Delicious but not a good value.
A unique place with great food quality and service
Had dinner with 3 friends. All were very happy with their delicious food and wonderful attentive service by Giampaolo and the rest of the staff. Pino, you have created and maintained a jewel in the dining culture of Vancouver.
Its been to long.....great to be back. Excellent as always.!!!

Simply one of the best meal and services i've had. Amazing food. Went during Vancouver International Wine Festival. Each course was absolutely delicious.
Atmosphere great. Food was fantastic. Service impeccable.
If I could give more than five stars I would! This is my favourite restaurant and my family and I have celebrated many big milestones here (birthdays, anniversaries, children etc.) The food is absolutely exquisite and clearly made with so much care and attention to detail. The owner/chef Mr. Pino Posteraro is such a kind and welcoming gentleman who makes you fell like you are a part of the family. I dined there last weekend with my family including my two toddler aged sons. They were so welcoming and accommodating and the food was amazing as usual. As soon as I leave the restaurant I start thinking of when I can make my next reservation. Can't say enough good things here, and I look forward to my next visit there!!
Wow! The food here was amazing and I will definitely come back again:)
Nice place however the portion sizes are for ants. You will need to eat before or load up on the house bread. Also request the main dinning room for full enjoyment.
Very good
Birthday diner with family, always the best place for an occasion.
Very good food and excellent customer service!.. kinda pricey especially the wines.
The food was delicious. If you want to treat yourself Cioppino's is definitely a good option. All around great food with the Rack of Lamb being a great main. Be aware that the portions definitely lean towards the fine dining size.
Vancouver's best restaurant, without a doubt. We have always loved dining here, but this past weekend was the first time we experienced the Cioppino's Tasting Menu, and it was incredible. Chef's passion and creativity was evident in every course. Service, as always, was perfect.
Good food, but really pricey for what you receive. The wine list is extensive.
An excellent meal once again. It had been too long.
Great pasta!
Excellent service and the food was awesome. I hope I'll be there again soon, although it's quite expensive.
This is one of those restaurants that I have gone back to several times because everyone goes on about how it "is simply the best darling". Well I can't say that the food is that bad but I really don't think it's good enough to justify the micro portion / hefty price tag dynamic.
Meal type
food was excellent. The mood was perfect and staff were very kind. I recommend it for a special day.
Best restaurant in Vancouver or even in BC. Pronto!
Quite towards very, very expensive though. Still the whole food, atmosphere, and service are fantastically well balanced. Greeeeaaat wine selection too. Er, I would love to say something sound very nice regarding the dinner, instead let my (horrible… :p) picture say those. Hah, kidding. My cioppino was a great "medley of sustainable fish and seafood, spicy bouillabaisse broth." But the portion-wise, I wish it left me a tad less hungry. This is my second time here and I'd come back. But hopefully I would have someone to pay my bill. Harhar~
Best Italian restaurant in Vancouver!
Love this place. Everything I have tried has been so far has been amazing. Would definitely recommend.
Tastes amazing, friendly staff
Update Dec 2021 Disappointed in the hours of operation of Cioppino's For some time they have now been closed 2 nights a week including a very popular Sunday night out. In addition went to make a reservation for 10 for just before Christmas but they have decided to close for 2 weeks in December. This isn't the reliability I expect from a restaurant I like to frequent. Original A really great experience for our anniversary dinner. Ambience is warm and comfortable. Food was delicious and a very reasonable price for quality. We enjoyed delicious Cocktails (whiskey sours) and a very extensive wine list. Thank you Cioppino's
Cioppino's is without doubt a rare gem in Vancouver dinning, as Pino and his wonderful team are always consistent in their exceptional food and service! To further elaborate, my husband and I have been dining here for years and years, because this restaurant maintains the perfect balance of amazing food, service and ambiance, the team never disappoints. Most recently Pino was gracious enough to create a King Crab diner for our family, needless to say the entire experience, start to finish was beyond exceptional! Cioppino's is simply the best, highly recommended!
Amazing food!!!
Dine in
I experienced the best lamb racks in BC. Overall the combination of flavours compliments everything together amazingly ???? will definitely visit again - worth the 1-2 month wait!!
Shares with La Quercia the top spot for Italian food in town. Wish prices wheren't so ridiculously high as I'd be back more often. But in the few times I've been service and food were always fantastic.
Splendid.
Great food, buzzing with energy and good festive celebration. The staff was very friendly and the wine list was very good. All the necessary ingredients for a wonderful evening.
Great Meal, Small Portions
Awful, just awful! Long story short, we had dinner on Friday night and had an utterly terrible experience from start to finish, including the service and food. Since it was a busy night, we paid our bill and tipped accordingly. We then asked for the business card of the owner so that we would be able to provide discreet feedback instead of publicly expressing our overly negative experience online or to our peers and colleagues. We sent a POLITE email expressing that we wanted to communicate our feedback discreetly and directly instead of publishing a negative review online, etc. We expressed our thorough disappointment with the food and service (as well as provided coordinating details). Now here's the kicker! After three or four emails back and forth regarding our experience, the owner called me on Sunday morning at 9:30 am from a blocked number to lambast me for "insulting" him and his food/restaurant. He then proceeded to berate me for a few minutes about his reputation and his 39 years of experience, etc. I simply said "okay" and got off the phone. I just have to say, I am a frequent diner at many top establishments in Vancouver and around the world. I have NEVER been called by an owner from a blocked number to get castigated about how I was "insulting" their restaurant and food, especially after I chose to POLITELY email them directly instead of spreading negativity around the community about my experience. I am flabbergasted and I'm still in disbelief that an owner actually called me from a block line to chastise me about "insulting" them and their reputation. Interestingly enough, I had recently put a transcription app on my phone to directly transcribe all incoming and outgoing calls, and this particular call was captured. I intend to publish the set of emails as well as the transcribed call as the series of events has left me bewildered. To the owner: Have you ever once considered the fact that perhaps customers who have bad experiences simply say nothing, don't return, and spread bad word-of-mouth about their experience? I hope that next time someone has the decency and COURTESY to politely email you directly instead of publicly expressing negativity towards your restaurant, you actually have the inclination and fortitude of expressing some gratitude and perhaps even some goodwill towards rectifying their horrible experience instead of calling them from a private number on a Sunday morning to lambast them for "insulting" your ego. Your behaviour towards this matter has been childish and frankly completely unacceptable. Now both our experience on Friday night and your subsequent handling of that situation are going public. Calling paying customers to chastise them about providing feedback is not appropriate, especially when they have the decency to contact you directly instead of publicly bashing your restaurant online. Perhaps next time, you should strongly consider how you deal with paying customers that provide you with discreet feedback. To the owner "I sincerely apologize for "insulting" your fragile ego and your 39 years of experience. I'm glad that your 39 years of experience have helped you deal with constructive criticism well and how to rectify concerns of paying customers that go out of their way to communicate with you directly instead of going public about their downright awful experience. I'm glad that your 39 years of national and international reputation has gifted you the ability to produce flavourless/antiquated dishes at a premium price including day-old cold bread. I'm further glad that your international reputation has taught you the intuition to call clients from a blocked number on a Sunday morning to lambast them about "insulting" your outdated and uninspired dishes and restaurant. I lastly want to apologize to your unique sense of self and what you "produce". I'm glad that every night you've assured yourself of how great your food really is. I want to congratulate you and your ego on 39 years of superb craftsmanship and artisanal superiority!"
Delicious food,
Great food great experience a classic in town
I am glad I had the opportunity of dinning experiecnce.
Without doubt the best Italian restaurant in town.
Very expensive but really tasty.
Best restaurant in the city. Service is always fantastic and the food even better.

Delicious always.
We had a special family birthday. They took special care during covid. The chef-owner took special care of us and made our nite out spectacular. Thank you to The Chef and a special thank you to the wait staff.
Absolutely amazing food
(Translated) Wow. Delicious and impeccable service and amazing (Original) Wow. Délicieux et service impeccables et incroyable
Outstanding
Great service. Completely and utterly overpriced special entrees ($125 for a bit of truffle risotto when principal plates range from $35-45, I have had truffle risotto at upper-class Italian restos before and was still floored when the bill came). Very loud and a lot of regulars would be getting up and crowding areas near our table to say hi and give hugs with no masks on or anything and the wait staff did nothing. I saw the bar manager lower his mask to talk to clients all the time. We had the gluten-free Zucchini flowers, fried calamari/octopus, scallop taglialini, and the truffle risotto. The taste was quite good, but not out of this world. Quality and quantity was not high enough to justify the appetizers in particular. The service, huge wine list, and options for celiacs are the highlights of this restaurant. Unfortunately there is very little value. Also impossible to get a weekend reservation. Will probably not return I’m afraid.
I just celebrated my birthday at Cioppino. When we arrived there, there was something wrong about our Car. Pino, the owner and the chief, was extremely helpful, arranging everything for us and making sure that we could enjoy our dinner worries-free. The food was wonderful, and personally I would say, the best in Vancouver. The service was great as well. We had a great time there! We are very appreciated for the help offered by them! I highly recommend Cioppino, not just for the food but also for the people there! P.S . The T-bone steak is the highlight of the night! love it!
Great service and good food
Everything about this place is amazing: food, service, atmosphere, etc. Chef Pino himself came to our table to ask us about the food. Hands down the best Italian restaurant in Vancouver.
My partner and I have been going to Cioppino's for 10 years now and this place is our favourite for consistency, quality and excellent service. We always come here for major milestones and celebrations. Thank you Cioppino and team for always making every meal memorable.
Amazing black cod and incredible wine list
First class!
Veal's best in the city
Good service good food
One of our favorites, and a commitment to service and excellence what is lacking in many establishments in Yaletown or the rest of Vancouver. Even above the food we like the peace and quiet, and the quality of everyone who works there.
Good food
Pino is the G.O.A.T. for all the west coast dining. Book early if you want the best food you can taste. Thanks to the staff for always being great. See you soon
I've been to Cioppino's twice before (in their private rooms) both times I had a fabulous experience and I've on many occasions told my friends that I thought Cioppino was the best food i've ever had and by far the best restaurant in Vancouver. However, this last experience I had was so bad that I will no longer ever be going back. For having so many food runners, waiters, and water pouring people it took forever for us to get our menu and order. Our waiter was so obsessed with chatting with every other table that it took 20 minutes before he came by and asked if we wanted sparkling or still. It then took him forever to come back and tell us the specials or ask us if we had any questions with the menu. It also took him forever to even give us the dessert menu. Also when I asked for light cheese and light sauce on my caesar salad, he told me that I can just take it off myself....? You're right. I can "just take it off myself" but I can also just cook for myself but the fact that i'm at a restaurant in the first place is because I didn't plan on doing that. Our mains came and WOW was this pasta salty and undercooked. It was so salty that I couldn't even eat it. The pasta was also so hard that it was barely cooked. I told him the pasta was still hard but he just stood their for 5 minutes trying to tell me that it's supposed to be this hard, cause it's easier for my body to digest....? Okay. I then complained about how salty the dish was to which he then explained to me 3 (separate) times and the manager also came over too to explain to me again (for a grand total of 4 times, but the manager came over to explain it while he was explaining it the 3rd time so maybe it's just 3 times?) that it's supposed to be this salty. So apparently I guess the the food is supposed to be this salty that you can't even eat it. After finally explaining all this to me and seeing that I wouldn't relent, they then offer to make me another one. Guess what. It came back less hard and less salty. I wanted to eat dessert but at this point I was so mad that I just wanted to leave. I wanted to get my check but my waiter was again, talking to other table. He finally comes, only to drop off the dessert menu and storm off again to chat with some other table once again. After which he swings by 10m later to see if I want anything only for me to tell him no. I then tipped 10% (on the total bill not pre-tax) but really wanted to tip nothing. Our waiter eyed me, I left, he stared at me as I left and didn't even say bye. Honestly, I hate this restaurant now. Just thinking about my experience makes me feel sick.
Nice and cozy atmosphere, makes you want to stay and enjoy your meal. The staff was very helpful and welcoming, even though we were a little late. Large selection of wine, modest selection by the glass. I quite enjoyed the dishes, found the octopus to really be amazingly tender. I opted for the pasta which was good, though I should have been tempted to go with the risotto with white truffles. We shared a lemon tart dessert which in itself was tasty, but it needed the missing the italian meringue to push it to the next level. Overall, great dining experience, highly recommended.
Excellent food and service.
It has been several years since my last dinner at this restaurant, but I was very glad to see that nothing has changed. The smaller room is beautiful, with a remarkable collections of bottles. The food is delicious, faithful to the original Italian recipe when possible (see, for example, the ossobuco or the brasato), or tastefully and inventively revisited, when finding the right ingredients is impossible (I am referring to the cannoli). The service is impeccable and accurate. It was very noisy. I went on a Saturday night at 9pm, and the restaurant was still relatively crowded when I left at 11pm.
Fantastic Calebrese Food, but Pricy
Best chef in Vancouver hands down TT
5 Star! Restaurant renovation is beautiful! Had dessert and coffee...just wonderful!
I had a wonderful experience here. I really felt like I was back in italy. The service impeccable, food was Exceptional beyond words, and most of all the waiters spoke italian which I LOVE. I was able to show them my skills by conversing with them. Authentic Italian experience. I will definitely come again.
Pink the chef and his big brother Chelee are great hosts. Probably the best restaurant in Vancouver. It’s expensive but the food and service just outstanding. Lamb chops are the best and so is speggeti oilio oilio.
Likely my favourite restaraunt in Vancouver. If you haven't been, it's time!
Best Italian in Vancouver
Pricey high quality food and drinks
Amazing food and atmosphere!
Hands down one of the best Italian dining options in the city. Service is excellent, food is prepared with care and great attention to detail. First stop in truffle season.
The best Italian restaurant in Vancouver. Nothing better.
Great food, ambiance, location in dt, and best customer service you'll ever experience at a restaurant, and the owner greets guests whenever he has time -where else do owners take such pride in their establishment? He's a witty guy too! Lots of gluten-free options, wine and dessert options, and they're willing to customize orders as you like. Go there for your birthday -they'll make a dessert that's not even on the menu but it should be!
There are plenty of positive ratings for Cioppino’s, but we felt our visit could have been a lot better. The location is in the trendy Yaletown district, which is easy to get to and there are lots of neighbouring restaurants. This is an expensive place. Sadly, the quality of the food we ordered didn’t match our expectations. Overall, it was a reasonable meal that cost a lot more than you might think for a restaurant with such good reviews from other people. We left underwhelmed and out of pocket.
Not for a first date, not for a casual bite to eat, but for a retirement (or any other momentous occasion) Cioppino's will not disappoint. If $120 is normally an expensive meal then make sure to bring a defibrillator here our bill was well over $200, a single appetizer costs what I normally pay for an entire meal. Now if you're in the mood to be pampered there is no better food or service. After taking 10min to go through the wine list we started with the mussels and scallops. The mussels came with chorizo sausage in a tomato broth. The roasted scallops also came in a tomato broth along with artichokes. We couldn't come to terms with trying separate mains so we had the linguine which is served with lobster in a tomato cream sauce. Excellent. As a final note I have to mention the service. Not a single wait for our drink order, or for the appys, or our main dish. I'm definitely going to come back but maybe not as often as I'd like or else my bank account will be in the single digits.
Superb good, superb service, superb atmosphere. The best!
Great wine list. Had the tenderloin and was spot on!
Wonderful food. Perfect mix of Italian with a Mediterranean spin. Great wine list. Service was very good. Restaurant was very loud and the owners family (wife and two young kids) were standing around almost causing problems for the staff and kitchen flow. There presence was an eye sore.
Simply fantastic ???? ???? a must try for those who have never yet had the opportunity to experience how amazing this place is !
Dinner
Good service. Ordinary food. 2.5 stars. I don’t think it delivers on all the hype. $350 for 2 is fine if it’s at least memorable. Too bad I had high hopes.
The service was great. We had chicken and rib-eye, and they were tender and delicious. The tiramisu was fabulous!
Had the scallops, a salad, pappardelle, and sablefish. All amazing dishes. The only thing I did not enjoy were the three desserts we had ordered, brule, chocolate cake, tiramisu. Overly sweet, and there wasn't much flavor to distinguish between the desserts.
love this place
Great food!
Everything we ate here was impeccable. Had the stuffed zucchini bloom to start, highly reccommend. Then a pesto linguine, just the right amount. For the main course sablefish that was so perfectly finished it melted in my mouth. The chocolate love cake and cappucino sealed the meal. The tastes were strong with high quality ingredients. The staff were attentive and professional, but also personable. Owners came by more than once to chat about the food. Covid friendly dining, I felt completely at ease here. Also was thankful for the jazz playlist and lighting that made for a wonderful ambiance, not to mention the hundreds of bottles of wine that lined the dark millwork. We dined in one of the smaller, cozier rooms as opposed to the main hall. There was also valet which was nice as we didn't have to worry about the hassle of finding parking. Overall a great experience, can't wait to come back! Did I mention the chef makes his own chocolate!
One of the best restaurants in Canada, if not, the best.
(Translated) Excellent Italian restaurant, delicious dishes and excellent table service. Very welcoming and quite formal environment. The restaurant also has a wine cellar with many varieties of wines and champagne. Finally a real Italian restaurant with Italian flavors found abroad. Highly recommended. (Original) Ottimo ristorante italiano, piatti buonissimi e servizio al tavolo eccellente. Ambiente molto accogliente e abbastanza formale. Il ristorante dispone anche di un enoteca con moltissime varietà di vini e champagne. Finalmente un vero ristorante italiano con sapori italiani trovato all'estero. Consigliatissimo.
If you're vegan and your friends are have chosen this place for a special occasion, enjoy the mushrooms. That's your only option. One dish. Not even an entree. Not even a salad. Why even bother offering one measly option? Just add cheese to your mushrooms and tell vegans you completely hate them. It's 2022.
This is a highly recommended restuante.
Very classy place and the wild boar is delicious.
Service
Authentic Italian restaurant experience in Vancouver. Staff and management make a huge effort to deliver genuine Italian hospitality, which in addition to food that is always exceptional, makes this my favourite Vancouver restaurant. It is popular, so booking ahead is recommended, but having said that, they do make a huge effort to accommodate if you make plans at short notice.
If I had to sum up the Cioppino's experience in as few words as possible, they would be: "Quite good and very expensive". I suppose this does not come to a surprise to many that are reading this (wait a second.. is anyone reading this??). So here's the deal - they have a very nice sizable wine collection of local BC wines, Italian, French and New World selections as well. The least expensive wine on the list is around $75, and they range up to that $5000 bottle of 1982 Chateau Latour. We chose an excellent (best I've had) if not marked up local Bordeaux blend from Naramata Bench (La Frenz 2006) .. for $135. It would certainly stand up against any of the major heavyweights on the list in my mind but I can't help thinking we would've paid half the price at some other venue, ce la vie.. For the appetizer course, spot prawns were spot on, done poached and served with the heads, flash fried. Delicious. My main course was the Cioppino itself - not trying to be cheeky, but I was hoping to get some more spot prawns in non-appetizer portions. It was not to be, however it was a very good mixture of regular shrimp, scallops and whitefish. I'm not into giant portions by any means, however for $40 I expected a little larger portion than what we proffered up - it was slightly larger than an appetizer. In summary, what I'm saying is certainly a great place for an expense account, a good food experience with through the roof wine potential, with 5-star prices and 4-star quality. From a service perspective, I would say it was ok - I certainly had no issue with it, but then again in all honesty all I expect from a server is to bring the food on time and blend in. The chef did come around and see how we were doing as well. They capably handled a colleague that was at the dinner and is celiac no gluten, etc.
Service
What an incredible private dining experience for 33 guests! 5 stars for every category: service, delicious dishes, attention to detail, and tempo!! We booked the private dining room for our wedding night dinner with 33 guests. They even produced personalized menus for our incredible celebration! Equally impressive was the owner and executive chef, Pino Posteraro, who came in to congratulate us. We’ve had compliment after compliment from all our guests who celebrated with us. Thank you Pino for one very memorable evening! Joss & Stephen
Best Italian restaurant in Vancouver
This place is hands down one of the best places in Vancouver both for food and customer service!! The food quality and taste is consistently perfect! Super delicious, the cook of the meats is always to the perfection. On top of that the staff are super nice and professional. The owners are Italian and you get the real sense of Italian people there. Warm and lovely and the food has life onto it.
Really good time. Would recommend it
Cioppino's is an icon in Vancouver's dining scene!
Good restaurant, but for the price I think there are some other better options in the city. Still really enjoyed my meal and would recommend trying it for sure!
Great food and friendly staff, love this place
Best foie gras I’ve ever had in Vancouver. Their dishes are all very well seasoned and nicely served. Highly recommend the lobster linguine.
Great food!!! And customers service is awesome too. Me and my wife went there twice, and each time we all satisfied with the food and service. The price will not be your consideration for the perfect food and services. The half lobster linguine is my wife most favorite food, and she only give me a small taste then finished them all every time, basically she will try 1/2 and let me finish the left at the same volume. For me, medium rare Roasted Rack of Lamb is the most delicious lamb I ever met at Great Vancouver area(another 1 is permanently closed:( …). It's really can be cut by butter knife easily. Juicy, soft, beautiful and delicious!! I cannot forget the texture of it. The service also awesome. My wife forgot what we ordered for drink, just remembered some color and taste, then the tender and maybe chief comes together to help us get what we really want. The lava cake is another point I couldn't miss. My wife most favorite desert. We tried a lot of at different restaurants, but here, she found the true love. We absolutely will come again and again to enjoy the service, drinks, food and desert. Nov.20, had dinner with wife again. Roasted rack of lamb.
The most incredible wine list of Vancouver !!! Possibly !!! Great Italian food better than cincin and lupo. Pherphas the best Italian food Vancouver
Great dinner for a special occasion!
Delicious and good services
Good food and casual decor.

Amazing service and the food was outstanding!
We arrived slightly before the dinner rush. Service was amazing, very friendly and attentive without feeling intrusive. The porcini and chestnut soup was incredible. We also had a burrata and eggplant salad that was perfectly made. The cacio e pepe potato gnocchi was incredibly tasty and the papparadelle Al guanciali did vitello e porcini had a tomato sauce that was light and incredibly full of flavor and the veal was incredibly tender and tasty. We had chocolate cake with ice cream for dessert that was also perfectly cooked. All of the drinks we had we're very well made as well.
Best meal I have had in Vancouver hands down!! Chefs selection was unreal!
Great food n service. Decor is casual Mediterranean. Parking may be a problem n suggest getting there before 6:30pm Price is On the expensive side. I Like the creamy lobster bisque, soft full flavor fore gras. We also had a duck dish and a lobster linguine as main courses, both were good but not excellent - considering price/performance .
Excellent
Service outstanding, food excellent. Lobster bisque was best i ever had!
Food was fantastic and service was exceptional. Had the lobster heaven and it was cooked perfectly. They had a special appetizer of smoked salmon that was incredible. Highly recommend.
What an experience excellent food and the waitstaff was incredible!
One of the best restaurants in Vancouver. Exceptional food and service. You can order anything on the menu and expect it to be amazing. Perfect for special occasions. They also have private rooms if you would like you have your party seperate from the dining area.
excellent customer service!
Safe ....food was pretty good
Best vintage champagne selection! Amazing food. Attentive service. Chef/owner is very attentive and friendly. They will make you feel very special. Definitely recommend and can’t wait to be back!
4 course lunch was phenomenal. Staff was attentive and friendly. The food was spectacular. Caprese salad MELTED in my mouth. Penne was a little salty but cooked to a perfect al dente. The filet mignon was so amazingly tender and peppery. The sides were delicious but a tad too salty. Dessert was perfect, the super creamy tangy lemon cheesecake was heaven!
Very good flavour for all the food. A bit overpriced as nothing about service or ombiance isover and above an average lower priced restaurant.
Excellent service and the food was awesome. Parking is just the issue in this area generally!
Good food but Pino needs to renovated the place. Look me up I can get you a deal. ;)
I came to Cioppino's for a birthday party. Treated well with memorable wine paring.
I can't say enough wonderful things about this restaurant. The food is superb. The service is outstanding. My only regret is that I can't eat here everyday.
Food is not bad but service is very slow.
The best restaurant in vancouver no doubt.amazing chef love the people
You can’t go wrong with this. Food is amazing. Chef Pino is an amazing guy, really proud of his creations and rightfully so. The menu offers a variety of choices, from pasta to meat and seafood. It’s Italian but with many ideas drawn from all over the world. Excellent choice of wine and amazing dessert. The ambient is very relaxing and the service is great! I really cannot say anything bad about this place. Price is on the high side, but worth it in my opinion.
