Came down to try this place from recommendations. Let me tell you I was not let down at all. After along wait for indoor dining and such. This place is all you expect it to be. Great menu, great food, amazing service. From the management Ashley to my server Tyler. Koodos to the chefs for there great work. Highly recommend for anyone to try it out.

I swear to God this is one of the best restaurants in Toronto! I always like to try new places and I am genuinely glad my friend and I stumbled upon this gem and went in. It was a busy weekend night so we sat at the bar because other tables were either reserved or already taken. We got a few cocktails which were delicious and the food also blew my mind. I have been in restaurant industry for a long time and I have pretty high standards when it comes to taste and service. Pizza and Steak were both excellent and service was phenomenal as well. The female bartender with long black hair was very friendly and attentive. Although she was busy, she never failed to check up on us throughout the dining from the moment we arrived till the end. Great decor, menu and staff! Will definitely return to try more!!

Soooo good! These bennies are fabulous! Got eggs Benedict Florentine. The mix of spinach and kale (!!!) was delicious - mild and sweet in taste. Very soft and tender in texture. But the best part is there’s no bread — the eggs are on potato latkes. And those were exceptional. Worth coming back for.

Celebrated my birthday here, the server had an attitude and was so negative with his demeanor. When my guests would ask to suggestive plates or question about the menu he would speak to us like we we're unintelligent. Some of the sides were nice but the mains were OK. The drinks were good. Toronto, the wait is finally over!! Definitely check this spot out for a quick bite, you will not be disappointed. The Margherita pizza is simple yet gourmet tasting. You also can't go wrong with a beer and fresh cut fries.

The ambiance is dark and has some nice old decor. Definitely a place that many generations can enjoy. I went in for lunch around 1 and the staff started great and on top of our orders. After a while we realized our food was taking too long and no one came to let us know why. I had to ask someone what happened to our food and then all the sudden the staff was again more attentive. The waitress made a comment like “must have been worth the wait no?”...which rubbed me off the wrong way. They made a mistake and didn’t even check on us and then made a joke like that as if it’s no big deal. In the restaurant world that’s a big disappointment...usually a mistake like that is compensated somehow but nothing really happened. They brought our bills and that’s it. The food was good but not entirely exciting either. I wouldn’t necessarily go back as toronto has a lot of great brunch locations.

I have never felt so welcomed at a restaurant as I have at The Good Son. What started out as a simple curbside pickup, turned into a weekly outing. Every single staff member CARES about what they do; and that's not common. Highly recommend you spend an evening enjoying the beautiful atmosphere, incredible food and wonderful staff.

We went there for dinner after a show. We had reservations and we were seated immediately. We had many waiters and they were all very professional and knowledgeable. We ordered mushroom salad to share for a starter and it was just heavenly. The main course was flat iron steak, which came with no veggies, just burnt fries and was also $2 more than what the menu listed. We both complained that the steak was to tough, and almost impossible to cut. They changed our steak knives for much better ones, but still our jaws had a hard workout. However what really impressed us was the staff attitude when we told them we were not happy with the steaks. They did everything to accommodate us and offered free dessert and coffee. It was really refreshing because they really cared about our satisfaction. I ended up having cappuccino which was a perfect finish to my meal. The vibe of the place is very original and interesting. I would want to go back there to try other menu items. Loved the place.

Beautiful restaurant and decor. Nice atmosphere and good service. I went on a Wednesday night for there $10 pizza special. Any pizza on the menu is $10 as long as you purchase a drink. It can be any drink non-alcoholic too. The pizza toppings were great! high quality and generous amount of cheese which was excellent!! The crust on my pizza was too over done and burnt on the bottom. I would go back again though. I prefer there new location at Shops at Don Mills. I love the dough and crust better at there new location. The pizza maker at the new location is amazing! I have been to the Shops at Don Mills location 4 times this summer and each visit it's been exceptional!!The Good Son Shops at Don Mills has the best pizza in Toronto!! Also great salads at both locations

My date and I have been to the Good Son at Shops at Don Mills three times, and we love it! The decor is awesome and romantic. The service is fast and the waiters/waitresses are polite and helpful. We particularly love the spicey pork belly and pineapple pizza, and the ribs!! I rarely visit the same restaurant multiple times, but this is one of the few exceptions.

Good wood oven pizza, really great. Fresh ingredients and really well done, European style not American. They only have international beers on draft like the Czech Staropramen or Spanish Estrella. Nice to sit at the open front during the summer. Good crowds, nice service!

This restaurant was a delicious experience. I went with colleagues and we all found it enjoyable. The ambience was loud if you’re ok with that type of thing. The food took a while to come out but the restaurant was very busy and the manager brought out some comped apps as an apology which was a delight. The food was all incredible and would definitely recommend going back. I’m excited to visit in the summer when they have the front windows open!

We had such a fabulous time at the Good Son. Our waiter had such a great personality and was very attentive. All of the food was amazing - we ordered several dishes for the table and shared everything. The Oysters were excellent and the Brussels sprouts were definitely a favourite - would definitely recommend them! The restaurant has a very unique vibe with antique photographs and grandfather clocks all across the walls for a very homey feeling. I was very pleased with my experience- will definitely be returning. Thanks for a great meal and excellent service!

Had dinner here on a Saturday night. Walked in and got the last table for two. The space is well decorated and exudes a fun and interesting energy...lots for your eyes to take in. There are several rooms off of the main dining area, where you could have a small private gathering. The food and the service were terrific. Warm spiced olives were really tasty. The burrata, while good, was a bit cold but well seasoned and creamy on the inside. We ordered a pizza which was one of the best I've had. It was like you were having a different pizza with every bite, as it was layered and flavourful. Will definitely be back.

Overall very good experience. The service was great, from the host to the bartender to the server. All very attentive and warm and welcoming. Food was amazing from the pizza to the ribs to the shrimp. Only knock to the place is its loud on a Saturday. Your clothes will also have a smokey smell to them due to the wood burning oven, but small price to pay for good food. Look forward to going again.

I am visiting Toronto from the states and needed a nice restaurant to end my weekend on. The Good Son was perfect. The atmosphere of this restaurant is the perfect combination of cozy and elegant. Come in dressed up or in a Tshirt and nobody would look at you differently either way. I got their Margharita pizza and Spicy Sprouts to eat and both were absolutely wonderful. I also got a Crème Brûlée which was a bit overtorched but the delicious creme made up for it. I would definitely recommend stopping in if youre looking for a nice dinner out that wont kill your wallet.

We went here on a Friday without a reservation and they were able to seat us which was really refreshing. It's HUGE instead and has a really neat atmosphere. Really interesting decor like a wall of clocks. Our server was very well versed on the menu and great at being around when we needed. We just went for drinks (but did get the fries which were OUTSTANDING. so I'm curious to go back and try more on the menu. Really eclectic assortment of menu items). I got the Mexican Divorce which I really enjoyed. The glassware was also beautiful. Looking forward to going back and trying more

Second time ordering; Second time loving it. Highly recommend trying the Bulgogi Short Ribs w. Kimchi Rice. It's like crack. Heck, I don't even believe crack is as addictive as this dish. MUST TRY. I can't wait to try dining in at the restaurant once we're out of this pandemic. In the meantime, i'll continue to indulge in various items including your burgers, pizza, and meatballs. Order was quick, seamless, and delivery (Doordash) was fast. Food arrived warm and packaged well. Highly recommend to those who are hesitating on what to order. They have a wide variety of dishes, all cooked with great expertise. Can't wait to order again!

This is one of my favourite spots in the city with excellent service, food and vibe. I am so glad you guys are on UberEats currently and can't wait to dine in when possible. I have had a few of my birthdays at your downtown location, and no other establishment has been able to deliver the same experience. Charming, almost vintage but still modern atmosphere, very polite and nice waiters, quick service. Feels high-class. The pizza kitchen is open to see for the guests, which makes for a fun gimmick. The food is amazing. My thought at the first bite was "Now THAT is how you season a dish! <3" Only downside is the cost, but that is of course quite justifyable, considering the quality.

Highly recommended and I can't wait to come back to try the other things on their menu! I loved the atmosphere, it had a very cozy and warm feeling. The servers were also very friendly and we absolutely felt attended during our meal. I had the mushroom pappardelle which was delicious - I only wish their pasta portions were as generous as their portion sizes with their pizzas! My other friends ordered the prosciutto and spicy sopressata pizzas which were both very tasty! Also, I brought in cake to celebrate a birthday, and they were most accommodating in serving it to our table and slicing out the pieces for the group.

Great food, great staff, amazing decor and atmosphere. I had a wonderful birthday dinner here. Nicole our waitress was beyond exceptional and was very attentive and super pleasant. She made our experience there wonderful. The food is absolutely divine. I had the octopus and it was tender, flavourful and visually pleasing (How often can we say that about octopus?). Now for me the grand finale was the delicious warm (Not a lava cake) chocolate cake with the best crispy edges served with a mocha ice cream. Perfection! I will be back. FOR SURE!

Absolutely phenomenal, the Filipino breakfast blew my mind. Couldn’t resist the French toast so we got it as an after-breakfast snack. Portions turned out to be bigger than we imagined so we ended up having to take a lot of it home.

My company treated us here for a Christmas Dinner. We were a big group that needed to be seated at a total of four tables. The food was delicious and the service was great. They made sure to ask if we had any dietary restrictions before the night started, always made sure our drinks were topped up and cleared the tables of any empty dishes. The atmosphere was cozy and the walls were all decorated.

Food is generally pretty tasty (based off of a few apps and mains we tried), but really small portions for the price (obviously small portion size is a premeditation so that people order more dishes, I get that, still think it's bs though) Pasta is nothing to write home about at all, absolutely not worth the price, don't waste your money on it, which is too bad because pasta is cheap af and very easy to do well, always confuses me when "nice" restaurants have lame pasta. The restaurant has great ambiance and lighting and the service was impeccable, actually some of the best I've had while dining out in Toronto.

We went for Sunday brunch. For all the good things we've heard about this place our first experience was a mixed one. Overall decent flavours but there were some misses. My husband's eggs florentine were unevenly poached--one was soft, the other well done. The hollandaise could've used a bit more lemon juice. My tocino (Filipino bacon) was too tough and dry, and the "fried rice" was just plain steamed rice. When the server tried to explain it was "plain fried rice", we rolled our eyes--who are you trying to kid when it comes to rice????? The service was uneven too. Slow overall, no one asked how we're doing, and they forgot my side order of bacon. We may try The Good Son again, but the hype doesn't seem justified so far.

Popped in without a reso and got a seat at the bar. Was impressed with the service even at the bar it was super friendly and fast. I ordered the Korean ribs and kimchi fried rice although I was skeptical about getting at a non-Asian restaurant. Turns out I was wrong, the flavours were great and I ate every last bite. I took 1 star off only because the truffle pasta my sister ordered...I tried it (as I love truffles) but I felt it was lacking flavour and could've done with some real truffle shavings rather than just the oil. Other than that, brilliant!

It was so disappointing, the food was awful, the service was slow, the restaurant was too load and the reservations were made back to back creating a sense of rush and urgency to the experience. I must say our server was very polite and helpful to the extent he could. All in all it was a very disappointing experience :( ******************** Review from March 2019 is below **************** Took a dear friend for a celebration dinner. The ambiance and decor is wonderful, the service was superb, the food was by far one of the best meals I have had in years! My friend made a mistake and ordered the item next to what he actually wanted. When they brought him his food, he admitted that he made a mistake. The server was amazingly gracious and they replaced his order at no extra charge, made no fuss and were quick. This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in Toronto. I am definitely going back and urge you to try it. A big thank you to The Good Son team for an amazing experience ❤️

Went in without a reservation, but we were seated right away (which was obviously great). Decor was very unique and the atmosphere was very chill. Our waiter was friendly and was always around to help/ask us how we were doing. We went in on a Wednesday and found out that pizzas are $10 with a purchase of a drink - so I ended up having the Bufala Mozzarella Pizza which tasted really good. Price-wise affordable ($$). Overall great experience and plan on visiting again.

Tried the Margherita Pizza and Spaghetti Bolognese, both were pretty average, and the latter was a little undercooked with the Spaghetti slightly firm. The service at the entrace reception was also not that welcoming.

We had a large, multi-generational group, for dinner. I really like the old sitting room style decor, and even recognized some of the cranberry glass lamps and fixtures from seeing similar versions in older people`s homes. The setting is cozy and warm, and feels quite intimate even though the room is spacious. We liked everything we tried but we really like the grilled octopus on a bed of inked couscous, the pork cheek pizza and the steaks. Everything was fresh and very tasty. Someone in the kitchen loves pickled onions; they appear on the salads, the scallops and decorating other dishes. Service was excellent, but the food delivery was a bit chaotic; some mains came with the salads, some items were brought twice, and the oysters appeared after all the mains were finished. But we had a good time and enjoyed it all. I would recommend this for both hipsters and families, for sharing with friends and for a nice patio side dinner.

This restaurant is the best! Not only the food is great, the staff is aways friendly and helpful. Shoutout for the Manager that is always there to assist. Specially now, in times of COVID, they are doing a great job with the take out orders. Amazing tasting food in a take out box. I most definitely recommend this restaurant 10/10.

Super pleasant and helpful serving staff made sure everything was as it should be, advised on bottle selection, and were happy to help with anything. Cozy, eclectic atmosphere in a big room that makes you feel like you're in a private dining room for just your table. The food got better with each dish delivered to our table, from the incredibly fresh, rich steak tartare, to the jerk shrimp, short rib and pizza. Great wine selection to help wash it all down and get you ready for dessert, which is highly recommended.

Multiple positive points to touch on for this restaurant. 1 - consistently delicious. 2- service is amazing and surprisingly quick for a sit down experience...your food will come out in a timely fashion. 3. They have a deal on Wednesday... stone oven pizza for $10 as long as you purchase a drink ..dine in or take out! This has been sucking me in for the last few weeks as their pizza is gourmet and delicious. The prosciutto pizza is doing everything right! Can't say enough about it. Great cocktails as well and an intimate warm dark environment for a date or weeknight get together.

Everything about my meal at The Good Son was excellent. The service was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. My wine glass never got below being a 1/4 full before someone was refilling it from my bottle. We had olives and brussels sprouts to start and shared the capricciosa pizza and bucatini pasta as our main. Everything was delicious and the pizza is my new favorite in the city. I've already booked another reservation for Wednesday.

I usually love this place and have been multiple Wednesdays for their $10 pizza Wednesday. The reason I'm giving it a 3 stars is solely due to my experience last week. I took a group of friends (6 people in total) as I have mentioned it to them multiple times and everyone was excited to try it. We were really happy up until the moment our server got to our table. I didn't get his name, but he was and older gentleman and extremely rude. We were asking simple question and he just seemed extremely annoyed he was there, like we were the worst part of his day. I felt terrible and extremely embarrassed in front of my friends, as it was my recommendation. One additional note: if they were able to add vegan options to their menu (and not just take the cheese out of the pizza and call it a day), that would be amazing! Besides the bad service experience, it is a pretty good place with delicious pizza - but not vegan friendly.

Mixed feelings about this place. The nicest thing about it is the space itself. Very nicely decorated to give it an old-school, pre-war elegance. The service was lovely as well. My friend and I came in for Brunch. Now I'm a conoisseur of Chicken & Waffles and I have to say this was the weirdest chicken and waffles I've ever had. The fried chicken itself was delectable, very nicely seasoned and cooked. The waffle was only half a store-bought waffle, and it was not fluffy at all. The blueberry compote they served with the dish was a fancy flex but did not match the dish at all. Really whack use of $20. I probably would have liked my experience here if I had ordered something else, although my friend said his order was pretty average as well.

No bar seating except for 2 spots despite needing vaccination proof to get. Menu is very limited with all appetizers basically taken off the menu. Bad wine selection and hostesses at the front are very useless when you call and in general. Used to be one of the best burgers in the city - now it’s just over cooked and mediocre.

I have nothing but good things to say about The Good Son. The food is delicious and we'll worth the price. The customer service is outdtanding. The second time I ordered from them there was an issue with my order. I reached out to them on instagram and with door dash. Rony, the general manager, contacted me quickly. I have never had better customer service. Not only did they reach back quickly but they offered to replace the entire order the next time I ordered. To say I was pleasantly surprised at what got delivered is an understatement. Kudos to Rony as well as the staff at the Queen Street location. Thank you all so much!! I will definitely be back!
