The food here is delicious and yes I know it’s vegan (I’m not vegetarian or vegan). We got the peking jackfruit salad, udon mushroom cream with truffles, and the chick’n mushroom. We got the vanilla shortcake with passionfruit sorbet. …

A delicious experience of vegan Asian dishes! The service and atmosphere were both wonderful. I ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll, Crispy Gyoza, and Dan Dan noodles. I was really impressed with the “tuna”, it was delicious! Got the texture right and the fish taste as well. The noodles were also delicious, loved the bits of gluten for the “minced meat” and a big serving that will keep you full! However, the Gyozas were good but nothing special or unique about them. I would recommend trying another dumpling. Overall, looking forward to go back and try more dishes, especially the sushi rolls.

I thought I have rated this restaurant before but here we go again. I love this place. A friend invited me there and while I was driving back home I called and made a mother reservation, that’s how much I loved it. I have steamed vegetables dumplings, the truffle pasta, and the volcano broccoli. They were absolutely delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone specially vegetarians and vegans. I am going back again and trying many other dishes for sure. Then I will probably write an extension to this review. Update: I went few more times after the last review, and I am in love with every single food item I ordered so far. And for that reason I am changing my rating to 5 stars that are conditional to them staying this amazing. Well done Planta

We visited PLANTA for dinner on a Saturday evening after hearing about it for a long time. We made reservations and the place was modestly busy, with more people coming in as the night went on. The staff was very friendly and helpful in every interaction we had. The entire menu is vegan and there was a lot to choose from. Everything is designed to be shareable, so we ordered things from every section. Our waitress was very helpful in letting us know about portion sizes and how much to order for the two of us. For drinks, we had the matcha mojito and cucumber mule mocktails. They were tasty but way too overpriced for what they were and not worth it in my opinion. For food, we ordered the ahi watermelon nigiri and the spicy tuna rolls from the sushi menu. We ordered cauliflower tots and two bao sliders from the small plates menu and potato truffles from the dumplings menu. From the wok & noodles menu, we ordered the udon noodles. Pretty much everything was great and worth getting but I really enjoyed the noodles. If I came back, I would love to try some of the other items in the wok & noodles section. Overall, we had a good time.

I wouldn’t normally go to a vegan restaurant, but PLANTA makes no sacrifices of flavour and experience while being health and planet conscious. The service was a excellent and the atmosphere cool. Try the bang bang broccoli!

Absolutely obsessed. Love love love the food and atmosphere. My favs are the Ahi Watermelon Nigiri, Unagi Eggplant Nigiri, Crispy Rice, Bang Bang Broccoli. Drinks: the Lych Please is good and the Sake to Me comes in the cutest cat cup. I come here very often and the food is consistently good. The staff is super friendly and informative. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant is really nice as well.

Great atmosphere with excellent food. I have allergies to mushroom and they were more than willing to accommodate and help me pick meals. Such a wonderful place for vegan options!

Surprisingly great offering of vegan Asian fusion food. Much more of an Asian influenced menu that ultimately works better with vegetarian/vegan food compared to its Yorkville counterpart. However the reality is when you deep fry most of your vegetables, they’re going to turn out delicious. The crispy rice with ahi watermelon was surprisingly good despite my initial misgivings of replacing tuna with watermelon. Some other standouts were the oyster mushrooms, General D’s (who is this general?) broccoli, bang bang cauliflower, and actually all the desserts pictured (brownie, sorbet with forbidden rice, date pudding). The fried rice and bok choy were ultimately forgettable, and the use of curry powder in the former was a bit odd. Great selection of cocktails and the service was truly excellent. Serving sizes however are quite modest, particularly given the price point of most of the dishes (ours was a large group event so may be different). Though plant based fare is not my preferred type of cuisine, would certainly recommend this to my vegetarian and vegan friends (though they’re already aware of this place) and this location over the Yorkville one.

We absolutely love this place. If we could get such amazing quality and flavorful food everywhere we’d definitely be vegan. We didn’t get a chance to click a lot of pictures but literally everything on the menu is amazing Some of our favorites are the pineapple mango salad, bao, and the torched sushi

We had tried Planta Cocina before this location, but it didn't hold up. It was still good, but not nearly so mind blowing. The Bao and the cauliflower were really nice, but everything else was good, but I've had better versions at cheaper restaurants. The staff here are the absolute sweetest. If you're thinking of going to a Planta site, I'd go to Planta Cocina!

Avocado sushi (torched and pressed sushi) (9/10), steamed dumplings (Friday special) (3/10), Singapore noodles (4/10), Japanese sweet potato (9/10). Wildly disappointed by the steamed dumplings and Singapore noodles. Steamed dumplings were bland, almost sandy in texture. Singapore noodles deceptively seasoned, will surprise you with an overabundance of soy sauce in each mouthful. Avocado sushi was surprising for such a simplistic combination. Serves as a great appetizer. Japanese sweet potato combined sweet, savory and sour elements perfectly in a delicately charred texture that leaves you craving more. Disclaimer: I am but a lowly food inexpert with an unrefined peasant's palette. Take with grain of salt Restaurant ambience was great, servers were attentive.

Slowly building up the credibility on reviewing vegan/vegetarian/plant-based restaurants and I’ll say that Planta had a great vibe to it. Planta definitely has an Asian-cuisine flare to it. It also had some great cocktails (and choices)! Great cocktails and fresh juice; amazing combo. Would recommend the broccoli, the soup was fresh but lacked a sort of distinguishing flavour. Service was ‘meh,’ but overall a good experience!

Was really looking forward to this place as I went to their sister restaurant for my anniversary meal and really enjoyed it. Sushi was amazing.. probably some of the best I have had. Anything with watermelon in it is bomb!! Drinks were tasty and strong which l personally like. We both had the wonton soup and I will say it really disappointed. Presentation was fine but the taste was like murky water tbh. We still ate most of it because I really wanted to enjoy it but just couldn't. Rice in the main was cooked perfect but really lacked seasoning. Even some seasoning salt or seasoned soya sauce would have made a huge difference for the rice. Atmosphere was pleasant and I would definitely go back if invited out for drinks and sushi.

Went on a Monday night for $8 maki rolls. All the rolls were amazing, and had a well balanced taste. Best part is, it doesn’t try to imitate meat/fish sushi, but every sushi is unique in its own way. Only one that wasn’t as enjoyable was …

World class food, exceptional service — they know how to balance being friendly with creating an experience. Sushi all you can eat is Monday — best I’ve ever had. Plant based menu. Not your typical restaurant or menu though, they do a lot of different things with the dishes. Simple but very tasty. They’ve got the flavour combinations down as well. Really happy I went here and will be back very soon again.

I have heard a lot of good reviews and hype for this place and for me the food wasn't great. The waiter was really nice, but the rainbow sushi and truffle fried rice weren't good to me. The cauliflower tots and forbidden rice dessert were great. Ot was hit or miss. The ambiance was amazing. Overall not a bad experience, but would not come again.

I’ve been to Planta in Yorkville before and it was delicious. This time the food wasn’t really appealing. All the dishes were a way too salty and that’s actually all I’ve tasted. Maybe it was an accident. What has irritated me the most was that I was trying to call the restaurant and I couldn’t get a direct phone number anywhere. The one on google is to some kind of call centre. They didn’t pick up any of my 10 calls that I made over two days. I left a few voicemails and I finally got a response close to the time of my reservation. I was calling to make sure we got the table at the patio and to ask if I could bring my dog in that case but apparently they aren’t allowing dogs. It happened that another table had a dog with them and I felt bad that I had to leave mine at home. Servers/waitresses were suuuuuper nice and the star goes to them. No starts for food or the organizational part.

Great place and love the ambience. Customer service is top notch!!!! The person who attended us was great and his food recommendations as very good. Really good vibe and every all the staff we encountered was very friendly. Even got an email from the manager in regards to our visit. Food was really good. On the pricier side and quantity is not a lot but quality is amazing and definitely worth it!!

Great service, nice vibes Mango Pineapple salad was okay. Their Chick'n mushroom was good. Singapore noodle was salty in general and some parts were extremely salty. Dumplings were basically pierogies dipped in coconut milk. Not a bad idea, just wasn't a combination that clicked for me. Food was overpriced but all things considered, that's just how it'd be. I appreciated the vegan experience. Thanks!

An excellent spot for vegetarians and vegans. The cuisine has a clear Asian influence (from several different parts of Asia - they serve sushi, bao, dumplings, pad thai salad etc.). The menu is built to share, we ordered lots of small to medium size plates which was a great way to sample different flavors. There's also one section of the menu for mains, where just one would be almost enough to fill 1 person (maybe a little small). As others have mentioned, the bang bang brocolli is delicious. It's crispy and flavorful. The chick'n fried mushrooms and bao sliders were great as well. I wasn't a huge fan of the potatoe dumplings however. They had 4 dessert options ranging from cake/brownir variants to a rice pudding and an apple pastry. The atmosphere is nice as well - as you'll be able to tell from the ambiance and the menu prices, Planta is a slightly upscale restaurant but nothing too exorbitant, especially for Toronto. It's a large space with tons of seating and nice decorations (there's a few bright pink/red trees that are a unique touch to the decor). The servers are friendly and describe the dishes to you as they serve them, adding to the "fancy" feel Overall one of the best spots in Toronto for more upscale vegan cuisine.

Came here before the lockdown happened for a dine in experience. Amazing experience. The ambiance and decor is beautiful. Staff is friendly and welcoming and provide excellent service. First time coming to Planta and will definately be returning. Every item I ordered was absolutely delicious and fresh. Ordered a sticky toffee pudding dessert which was decadent, rich and so yummy!! The price is on the higher end, but so worth it!!

Been to Planta a few times now and it’s been good every time! The dishes are so innovative and flavour wise, taste just like the dish that it’s modeled on. Portions are on the smaller side and made for sharing. Really liked the bao slider and the hakka noodles. The dumpling platter came with 2 choices but we couldn’t mix half half which was a little disappointing because we wanted to try both. Ambiance was great and perfect for light conversation.

Phenomenal experience. If vegan food was always like this, I think the world would be fully vegan! Best vegan sushi I've ever had and the service/ambience are both great as well. A revolution is coming and I'm glad that it's led by restaurants like this that create such great food with so much love.
