What a beautiful experience everytime!!! Whether its for cocktails at the well-stocked bar or dinner in the dining-room, over the years I have always had an amazing time! The staff are well-trained, warm and friendly. The food is absolutely delicious and consistent! This is a family-run/owner restaurant and you really get a sense of this as the atmosphere is warm and inviting! Enjoy!!!

Excellent food, service , good drinks but no air conditioning. The steak was top notch and The cherry blaster martini so so good.

Mike Harflett

very nice steak house. Services are very welcome. AAAA Japan steak is very delicious, so soft and fatty. We also ordered the Octopus as appetizer.

sean williams

Always A1 service. And amazing quality of food. For a place that is recognized as a steak house they have other amazing options as well. Sometimes I go just for the branzino- no steak. We waited 20 mins once after our reservation and had all of our drinks from the bar comp’d. Can’t beat that level of service- this is why we always spend our money here. (Lots of it haha)

Antonio Boccitto

Great atmosphere! Low light, fireplaces, comfy chairs, very modern design. Came here with friends for Winterlicious. Food was pricey but delicious, definitely a nice spot for a fancy dinner.

Miss Independent

Probably the best steakhouse in the city. We always sit at the bar as the live music is fantastic and you always end up seeing Michael working the room and ensuring the best experience for his guests. The prices are similar to any high end steakhouse in the city... but you always end up coming out feeling it was well worth the cost.

Lisa Bristow

Fantastic food, excellent service, helpful staff. Very expensive, but YUMMY!!

Gary P

Other than the great steaks we wanted something lighter and fresher with a great ambiance. Their pasta dishes was a hit! Enjoyed every bite! Michael's never disappoints!

Louise Morfitt Hall

Excellent food atmosphere and service. Nothing but the best from this restaurant.

Teddy Ouyang

Excellent service! We went as a party of 4 and we enjoyed out dinner very much. Servers were knowledgeable in their menu, and were very informative of each steak and its origin. We were very satisfied dinners and will definitely be returning!

If you’re craving high quality Japanese beef or steak/meats, this is the place to go. We had the Miyazaki beef and lamb chops and both were amazing. Great service (special thanks to Jordan!) and ambience with a live performance from their in-house singer (we went on a Friday). If you still have enough space for dessert, highly recommend the affogato. They also have these custom made knives for the steaks which added to the experience!

I don't know where to begin... the service was incredible, the food was excellent, and the whiskey/wine selection was unlike anything I have seen in the U.S. I had the A5 Hokkaido tenderloin, and my wife had the mushroom pasta- both were delicious. The fried feta appetizer was our favorite thing we ate while in Toronto... it was incredible. I would highly recommend getting a reservation here if you're looking for a nice dinner.

Our server Alexander was perfect- attentive but not intrusive - great sense of humor food was 1st class a must rerurn

I came to Michaels On Simcoe tonight for a celebration dinner with my family, and wow my experience was fantastic. The food, drinks, desert and most importantly service was IMMACULATE! The manager Steve Spyrou was very professional and went out of his way to make sure we had a wonderful experience. He even went the extra mile to ensure all of our questions were answered and that our food was all coming out in proper order and in perfect timing. Victoria and all the servers who tended to our table were also very sweet and made our celebration as perfect as can be! Thank you so much!

Christon Jones

This place was one of my favorite steak house in Toronto for years but this time it was very disappointing as we were waiting for our food for over 2 hours and even the manager didn’t care enough. They brought our food after 11 pm and we rejected it and ask for a bill right away. This place has a great food but WORST service

Joel James

Absolutely astonishing.. From start to finish.. Booking the reservation & modifying it without any hassle or issues.. Simply catering to my needs.. Friendly greetings from the second we arrived.. Followed by the ambience and polite knowledgeable waiters on their menu and even more so specifically on their steaks and the in depth history of them..! The food and drinks exquisite they even went out of they're way to give complimentary appetizers.. Honestly not a single blemish in this establishment. If I could give 6* I would.. They really made my birthday a blessed experience there and even exiting the exceptional customer service didn't end..! An absolute 100% recommendation for anyone reading this.. The best steak I've ever had and the lobster bisque is to die for! Thank you!!!

Thomas Jankowski

This steak & seafood house was absolutely phenomenal. Loved the dry aged Ontario beef! The bone marrow was perfectly prepared, with a bit of mouth watering yumminess on top. The seafood was fresh and king crab legs sweet.

Marnie Grundman

Never disappoints! Have visited the restaurant many times in the past with our team and with business colleagues. Now due to the Covid restrictions we have been enjoying the takeout and dining options at their other two restaurants. Amazing food and service!

Albi

One of the best fine dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food tastes amazing. The servers are super professional and nice. The service might be a bit slower on Saturday nights but that doesn’t give the right to anyone to be rude to severs, something we witnessed this night. The washrooms were super clean. Nice music, good vibes. It’s a must try restaurant.

Isaura Gonzalez

If you love steak please go here. 6oz kobe is all you need with a 16oz rib eye.

Miraj Syed

The service here is OUTSTANDING, probably top 3 service I have ever received in my life! They really know how to make you feel special! Dust the table, fold your napkins, warmed plates, done with a smile! I spent 4 hours here last night with my girlfriends for dinner - it was a joy! Everything is well presented, carried out and explained. No feelings of pretentiousness as most steak restaurants in Toronto have. The quality of the food is brilliant. It's simple things done PERFECTLY! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. THANK YOU!

Navina Lotay

Pretty good place. I would highly recommend trying this place out during winterliciois as they offer great menu items and selection. Only thing is the atmosphere is very dim but I guess it is the environment they’re trying to create.

Ray Du

Excellent in all regards! The food was absolutely impeccable; every single bite! The manager Steve and our server Victoria were very pleasant, professional and detailed. They provided our table with excellent advice on the menu options. Will definitely return!

Kelley Gray

Went for mine and my brothers birthday, was amazing service, amazing atmosphere, everything. Would go back again.

Daniela De La Torre

Had the best steak of my life here. Great ambiance, relaxed atmosphere, great staff - very attentive, friendly and accommodating. If you’re in the mood to treat yourself this is the spot. Tip - they make an exceptional espresso martini! I look forward to returning.

Marie S.

Amazing service and food! Lamb and beef were great quality and cooked to perfection as always....the food is divine. It wasn’t too busy for New Year’s Eve. Highly recommend for date night or simply looking for a nice dinner.

Varun Wadhwa

The most amazing Steak House Restourant In Toronto! The food was an absolute knock out, every dish was like a piece of art on the plate and when you tasted it, it felt like pieces of heaven melted in your mouth. The service was outstanding, we were treated like royalty from the moment valet took our vehicles to the moment we were leaving. We will be coming back to Michael’s on Simcoe shortly because it is that great but meanwhile we recommend everyone to visit it for yourself!

Little Lady

Michael’s holds a special place in my heart as this is where I had my first oysters. They were fresh and lovely. I believe this is one of the only two restaurants in Toronto that carry a specific standard of Wagyu, as well as a variety of other cuts. The service here is immaculate and the ambience is just as appetizing as the food. Love it here.

Lynn Moran

For a $21 Caesar Salad, they could at least add another piece of bacon and some more croutons. Tasty food, tasteless quantity. Service is great though..

Gibson Strickland

The food and the service was amazing. I absolutely over this place! Definitely pricey but it was an incredible night. The food was unbelievable!!!

David Ruhlman

REALLY good food and REALLY good service! Would highly highly recommend. Every single item we had tasted amazing. The cheesecake looked and tasted different from normal cheesecake, but it was still fantastic. The service was also superb; they cleaned our table between courses and someone was always present to fill our waters. I honestly don’t have anything bad to say about this place.

Kyle Versa

We spent a special night with my family at Michaels last week, and it could not have been more wonderful. Right off the bat, we were treated with such care and totally pampered. After some lovely glasses of champagne, we were served the most incredible food! You can tell they put a lot of care and thought into their menu and ingredients. Not to mention we were served some fantastic red wine to pair with our dinner. The ambience was very relaxed and with impressive art and an awesome musician in the lounge. We ended our perfect meal with some delicious cocktails shaken up by the best, and then out came the most stunning dessert I personally had ever seen. Wow. Just a fabulous night that none of us will soon forget. Thank you.

Went for my friend Sarah's birthday and fell in love with this restaurant! The staff treats you like royalty! The food is some of the best food I've ever had! Presentation of the plates was well executed and even the atmosphere is great! The lighting is just right and the wall display really cool art. The coolest feature was the bathrooms! Believe it or not. The toilets had a bidet option to wash you off and even a dry option to blow dry you! And the seats warm up! I even had the pleasure of meeting the owner who was a down to earth friendly man who had extensive knowledge to share with our table. I learned about the beef they serve and the history of where it came from. I was suggested the port dover fish and it blew my mind! I can't wait to go back there! I highly suggest this place for get togethers and special occasions. Well done guys!????????????

Marco Kyris

Fabulous food, beautiful surroundings and impeccable service! The wine list is amazing! This is one of my favourite go to places! The ambience is perfect for a romantic dinner for two or a biz dinner. Love the lounge and the live music. The staff is so welcoming making it a great place to be if your traveling solo. I have done everything from the tasting menus to Tomahawk steaks and always been wowed!

I've been passing by Michael's for quite awhile but have never had the time to come in. What a mistake! This restaurant is outstanding. The service is very polite and prompt and the food is amazing. I recommend the artichoke hearts!

Alireza Zhirafar

I went to Michael's for my girlfriends birthday dinner and it definitely lived up to the hype. It was outstanding in every sense of a dining experience. I had the Kobe steak which was presented to me with a special knife of my choice. It was a really awesome experience. I would definitely recommend trying it out at least once.

Brenlo Ltd.

I went to Michael's recently with two friends and had a great evening! Going to a steak restaurant as a vegetarian isn’t normally my first choice but there were tons of options which were all great. They even had a vegan “steak” made from eggplant! The food and service we both amazing. Our server was very sweet and attentive and other staff members checked in to make sure we were okay several times. We were given great recommendations and had wine paired with our dishes which was really nice. The live music was really nice, and added to the already great atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back ????

Came here for their winterlicious menu but would definitely come back to try move of their regular dinner menu. Ordered their: Steelehead carpaccio, Angus striploin and white chocolate cheesecake for winterlicious. Also decided to try their lobster bisque, which was delicious. The vibe of the restaurant is business casual and all the staff members are so friendly. Interior: 10/10 Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10

Orla O Connell

Great restaurant. Love the ambiance as well. The blue lights make it hard for pictures but it is one of my favourite places.

Hossein Panahi

Steaks are what they are known for and for good reason! You'll find a large selection of cuts and price range from $38 to $500 for their Kobe steak from Japan. We had the PEI tenderloin and it was delicious! Cut like butter and so tender and juicy. The lobster gnocchi was also very nice, with a nice creamy tomatoe base and large pieces of lobster. The Cioppino had a nice variety of seafood in a soup like base. The downside were the sides. Roasted cauliflower seemed more sautéed than roasted and the mixed mushrooms were the cheap white or cremini mushrooms. $14/side was way overpriced and you could probably make better sides at home. The bread was super salty and the toppings (cut up veggies, arugula pesto and wiped butter) weren't amazing. The butter was the better off the 3. The pre-meal surprise was a really nice battered artichoke heart with tomates and parmesan. Regardless, the service was wonderful and water was always filled before reaching the bottom. I requested for a special birthday message on the dessert and they made that happen. The almond cake is worth trying, not too sweet, serenaded with some fruit and toffee bits. Worth coming for their steaks, stay away from those sides.

Ale Fabiani

Excellent food and service. Followed Covid protocol properly. Recommend for any occasion. Loved it.

James Saltarella

We celebrated my birthday here last week and unfortunately Michael’s did not live up to its reviews. Although the service was ok; the food was not. Our steak was extremely under seasoned and extremely under cooked. I requested a mid-rare steak and my steak came cold at a blue rare cook. I sent it back to the kitchen and our waiter didn’t come by to check in on us again. It’s unfortunate considering the amount of money that we spent on our food. Save your money and go to the keg. Or better yet go to Jacobs steakhouse where for the same price you will get the quality you would expect from a steakhouse.

JessiKa Violet

They offer a great variety of fresh food. I loved dining here. Employees are always helpful, pricing is fair and the place is always clean.

Michael's on Simcoe was an amazing sensory experience. When we entered, we were greeted warmly by the hostess. She took our coats and guided us to a very cozy table. The restaurant was warm in both temperature and feeling. There were fireplaces tossing soft lights throughout the dining area. The seats were soft and sumptuous grey velvet. The tables were covered in crisp white linen. Our server, Etienne, truly deserves a review of his own. He was that wonderful. Etienne's service was exemplary. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu items and the pedigrees of the steak selection on the menu. His level of attentiveness was perfect. We were never left waiting, but he also knew when to give us privacy. Our table was kept clean and our meal courses were timed impeccably. Although it may sound like he was stuffy, Etienne was very pleasant and down to earth. All of our courses tasted incredible. We started with whiskey. This restaurant has an extensive library of spirits and wines. There was almost no item we asked for that wasn't in residence. The drinks and cocktails were categorized by country. No matter the formality, there is a bottle that would satisfy any occasion in the restaurant. I drank elderflower mojitos. They were not on the menu, but Etienne assured me that the bartender was fully qualified and could make any drink I wanted. I asked for an elderflower mojito, and they served me one (well a couple). They were delightful. We had an artichoke starter that was silky and crispy at the same time. Then we had a selection of side dishes which included a roasted mushroom medley that was rich and had a nice meaty texture. The dish was a wild variety of mushrooms lightly seasoned and very enjoyable. In addition to the mushrooms, we had sautéed rapini. Bright and garlicky, this dish almost made me want to become a vegetarian. We also opted for the truffle mac'n cheese. The taste and feel of it in my mouth was life altering. This pungent cheesy delight was everything comforting you'd expect from a true mac'n cheese. Quality cheese, visible truffle, and perfectly prepared pasta. For my main course I chose the lamb and added the roasted bone marrow to my lamb dish. The satiny texture of the marrow was indescribable. The dish came with blistered heirloom grape tomatoes and a mint pesto. The lamb was tender and flavorful and the dish really came together in a most pleasant way. Our meal was completed by a dessert selection which was, simply put, a perfect ending. If you are looking for that perfect celebration spot, romantic spot, or fine dining experience, this restaurant is all those things and more.

Excellent food and service. Steak was delicious and, surprisingly, so was the seafood (for a steakhouse.) Perfect place to bring a date when you're in the theater district (it's close to Roy Thomson Hall.)

Urooj Khan

very disappointed. This place was one of my favourite steak house in toronto.however our reservation was at 9:30, they didnt serve our food till 11:30 and by that time we ask to cancel our food and the manager didn't bother themselves to apologies or even care

I like to go with friends to this restaurant with my highest recommendations. I go their often. This recommendation is always successful. The meals are yummy and the stuff is attentive and cooperative. always when we visit this place we have a splendid evening. I warmly recommend this restaurant.

Dined here for a work dinner and the food and service was amazing. They also have the coolest women's washroom ever with a remote control for the toilet! The lighting is a bit too blue for me but overall the ambiance is pretty cool.

Calvin

I rarely leave reviews, but the service was actually the best experience I’ve had in a very long time. The GM, Steve, served our table. He was incredible, and treated us like gold. Aside from the service, the food was amazing. Definitely worth a visit.

Manry X

Had dinner here for a birthday celebration and had an amazing time! It was a great atmosphere topped with delicious food and excellent customer service. It was truly one of the best dining experiences we have ever had resulting in my sister exclaiming that it was her best birthday dinner ever. And she ain't that young anymore so she's had more than a couple of birthday dinners! Thank you to the Michael's On Simcoe staff for making me and my family feel at home.

Vik Theeson

Michael's always pleases and today wqs no surprise. Out of a 6 menu course, mushroom pasta and cheesecake desert stole our hearts. Also excellent pear martini.

Tamon Gittens

Food and atmosphere does not deserve a 1 star review, but the Assistant General Manager, Steve Spyrou definitely does. Never have I seen a manager of a high-end establishment act so unprofessional when speaking to a customer. For a simple question regarding a charge on our bill, we were met with arrogance and disrespect that was completely uncalled for. There are many better choices in Toronto to spend your hard-earned money on a good steak, with a level of service to match.

Takia Washington

We did the winterlicious menu and it was perfect! Even the complimentary focaccia bread was delicious! I ordered the steelhead trout, the striploin, and the sticky pudding and they were all exceptional! Best steak I’ve ever had! Also, the service was amazing, the staff were super friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back :) Edit: I just went to the washroom and WOW! Heated seats with bidets with heated water! So luxurious! Also, the coat check person helps you put on your coat. We all felt like royalty!

James Kuller

Definitely my favourite restaurant in Toronto! Such beautiful ambience, really stellar food presentation and delectable dishes! They really go above and beyond to make sure you are happy.

Claudio Battaglin

I went to Michael's with a girlfriend after a conference for a quick ladies night out. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a glass of red wine and some delicious appetizers on a Thursday. The food was excellent! Also, the owner was so friendly and attentive, as was our bartender. The ambience was hip yet relaxing. It was busy but not over crowded. It felt cozy, especially with the fireplace. I had a great time and will return for sure! I am a little picky with restaurants since I don't get out often (I work too much) but I would recommend this place. It is really a hidden gem.

Carly S

One of the best steak houses I have ever been to. The staff was very friendly and attentive they made our meal a life long memory.

Chris Montour

Best beef I’ve ever tasted. Check the marble texture in my photo with A5 Black Tajima Hokkaido (above) and 5-Star Wagyu (buttom). Hands down on the A5!

Tanya Friel

The interior is great, the employees are very helpful and professional. The wine choices are unbelievable. I and my colleague enjoyed all the courses we ordered.

J Carnate

If I am writing a review then the experience was really really bad. If this was written in a paragraph it would be too long. This place is trying to scam its customers stay away! - wrong order and tried to convince me the steak was a 16oz when clearly it was 8oz. After I complained multiple times then finally they agreed - tried to charge us a sneaky 70$ corkage fee - forgot one of our appetizers

Josee Arielle Lien

An absolutely marvelous experience we had. The staff was able to accommodate our late notice reservation as it was one of our friends birthday. The service was impeccable and the food absolument exquisite ????

Martiinii 6ix

Excellent service. It's more of a Italian restaurant than a steak house IMO but they do have some great meat. Meat quality is no doubt top quality and there is a good selection. My steak was a little over cooked and the server has offered to make a new one. I declined as I hate wasting food and the server offered me dessert and coffee on the house instead. Ambient is definitely good for dates.

TheAvidObserver

We recently had an amazing experience at Michael's. It's a great place with exquisite food, knowledgeable staff and perfect customer service. We were recommended excellent wine pairings with each particular dish which made our experience outstanding. Everything was paced perfectly making it a wonderful dining experience. Absolutely recommend Michael's, and can't wait for our next visit!

Kenisha Andréa

My friend suggested we try this restaurant because she wanted a good steak and it was nearby. It was a quiet weekday evening in the restaurant, so our waiter was very attentive and professional. We were impressed by the high quality of the food, and the portion sizes were generous. It was the best steak I have had in years, and also the most expensive, they did not disappoint.

Dalya Jalil

The food was amazing, the atmosphere is really laid back with an upscale twist, and the service was great. The waiter took the time to have general conversation, giving great recommendations, and was really welcoming. Overall great place, went for winterlicious, and would definitely go back again.

Lu Lu Tian (LU LU)

Great ambiance! The food and service are amazing. Also pretty quiet , good for dating. They have live music on Friday and weekends

Maria Ramjattan

Before explaining why this place deserves the 1-star review, I must say the atmosphere was the best thing about this restaurant. Food was not bad, but there are definitely better steakhouses in Toronto for the price. Aside from that, what earns the 1-star review was the extreme lack of professionalism displayed by the Assistant General Manager, Steve Spyrou. When it came time to pay, we questioned a charge of $99 for bottled still water, when it was never disclosed to us that there would be a cost, nor was there an option offered otherwise. Now I understand there is a cost to things and had the manager explained that properly, we would have complied or at least compromised in a solution. However, this wasn’t the case. Steve felt compelled to not only be extremely arrogant and question the “type of restaurants” we visit and compare them to experiences of his own, he went out of his way to ensure we had a terrible end to our evening by discussing the situation loudly with his colleagues in the back as we were on the way out. This type of thing is what ruins an establishment’s reputation. Had it been recorded and put on social media, it would have gone viral. All to say, there are much better options in the city to spend your money. And it goes without saying, nothing was really done to our $99 charge. He comp’d a few bottles and refused to do anything further.

Gabri Kar

Really happy with my fine dining experience here. The ambience was nice, our waiter was very polite and there was great background music with a gentleman playing the piano. The food was also great, especially the dessert!

James Chan

We tried the seafood platter, NY USDA Striploin, PEI Tenderloin and their Carmela Pasta. Not only was every dish delightfully tasty and well-balanced, but it was paired with an excellent wine suggested by our server; a timely, funny and courteous chap!

Mr. Bitcoinz

Enjoyed this place tremendously! Booked a table for two for my birthday and it was one of my best birthday dinners ever. Dry ages steak with a side of sautéed mushrooms was cooked to perfection.

Elizabeth Fagioli

Very nice place, good service, there steaks are aldo very good

Bob Punia

My hubby and I arrived about 6:00 pm. tonight without reservations. They sat us in the wine cellar area apologizing that it was the only seat available. It was actually perfect and private. We enjoyed our tenderloin and lamb meals, which were perfectly cooked. Our waiter was on top of everything but was not intrusive, he was very friendly. To top of a relaxing dinner they offered us a “sampling” of their desserts on the house. To our surprise we actually received three full sized and two smaller portioned dessert. It was a busy evening for the restaurant but the staff at Michaels worked seamlessly together. Thanks for the delicious experience Michael. We’ll be back for sure.

Xinyang Cindy Liu

I was at Michael celebrating my bf birthday, the service is exceptional and even though they forgot my glass of wine (which appeared in my bill at the end) but it is probably one of the best service I have received in Toronto. The place is really well kept, clean and a very nice atmosphere. However the food is not the best, I had the seafood platter and wasn't aware everything is served cold, the ceviche tasted amazing but the rest very ordinary for what you pay, Michael really need to improve the food because with the same money i spent i could have eaten much better food elsewhere, something you guys could considered if you want to stay in this business, i tried most of the plates because we were a group of 10 and everyone ordered something different.

James Christie

Michaels on Simcoe, I celebrated my birthday at this restaurant and fell in love with my experience. The restaurant was absolutely perfect! The appetizers were delicious, original and appetizing sides, the best steak I have ever had, an extensive wine/whiskey list, and the most authentic desserts. I am astounded time and time again by their excellent level of service and detail! The staff is friendly, attentive, respectful, and very knowledgeable. The place is stunning, calm, cozy, and most importantly; welcoming. The dining experience for all my guests was beyond all of our expectations. I can not thank Michael and his staff enough for accommodating my event and making it one of the best birthday events I have ever hosted. If you have not been, this is the restaurant to attend! There is no other place like it! With the delicious tasting menu, impressive drinks list, astounding atmosphere, and the most amazing staff, at heart, this is one of Toronto's best restaurants. To Michaels on Simcoe, thank you for everything.

Robert Capraro

Me and my partner went here for our anniversary last night. We had an amazing experience with great service and staff. (Thank you Steve for making our night extra special). There was a live acoustic female artist who was phenomenal. Great choice guys:) The food is a literal party in your mouth. I have been to Butcher Chef and now Michaels and they’re both unique and amazing. We had two steaks and surf and turf meals. Chocolate mousse and creme brûlée for dessert. You literally can’t go wrong here. If you want an experience you must try one or both of these restaurants. And order the wagyu!

Alex Pinto

Absolutely lovely place. Cosy interior, nicely illuminated. Very friendly service. Steaks are not that cheap, but worth every bite and perfectly done. Good wine list with very fair prices.

Jeslyn

First of all, it was an excellent dining experience. The waiter was friendly, professional and considerate. Also great ambience and wine selection. Secondly, amazing meal quality. The steak was cooked perfectly, well seasoned and seared. Garlic mashed potato was creamy and yum, loved the cheese crust on the top. Wagyu meatball pasta was great. Dark chocolate mousse was delicious too. They also offered complementary bread and artichoke appetizer. The reason I gave it 4 starts instead of 5, was because I was expecting more with that price. For example, it was a birthday celebration and I had indicated that a cake would be lovely, but unlike their sister restaurant Butcher Chef, there was no cake served and we had to order one by ourselves. But other than that, it was quite a decent dinner.

Максим Савельев

We came here for Winterlicious, and service was really good. They even had a coat/bag checkin. The appetizers were okay only. I highly recommend going for the steak! The steaks are amazing here. I wasn't a fan of the stealhead trout dish and the clams because the trout didn't taste that great. The clams has alot of sand. The dessert was okay. We had the double chocolate brownie and the Raba. Washrooms were kept clean as well.

Jess S

The service was out of control good. The food was fantastic and whoever made my old fashioned was clearly a wizard because it was perfection in a glass. Just an amazing meal and experience.

Iris Valle

Unbelievably good food but also very expensive. If you have left your glasses at home they offer reading glasses so that you can read the menu. I had a Cherry Blaster cocktail that was deliciously tart followed by the surf n turf platter. The waiter brought sea salt to the table for the steak. I cannot express how amazing my meal was.

Saif

Mediocre and inefficient service, over an hour wait time for the mains. This so-called fine dine restaurant has an identity issue, not sure what they’re trying to offer. The management should train their staff to correctly provide impeccable and kind service to their patrons or bring in people that can be part of a positive culture. Leave the attitude and smugness at the door before you come to work, don’t pull that with your guests. Disappointed.

Emmanuel Perez

My dining experience at Michael’s on Simcoe was hands down one of the best restaurant experiences I have had. I knew I wanted to eat out somewhere good for Winterlicious and a friend who had stayed once before in the Shangri-LA Hotel highly recommended this place to me. From the moment I walked into the intimate restaurant, I was immediately taken by the chic and sophisticated decor. We were also greeted by a very professional and friendly staff who took care of us from beginning to end. We really weren't sure about what we were in the mood to eat but our server had great suggestions for both food and wine. Our first plate was an absolute winner. We selected Carmella fungi and it really set the tone for what was to come for the rest of the dinner. It was so rich and delicious, and I'm normally not a mushroom fan but this dish was prepared so expertly. We decided to share a few plates for our main course since we wanted a taste of everything; the gnocchi pasta, pork chop with homemade slaw, and steak with crispy polenta. All three dishes came out together and I was impressed by how detailed our server was to describe then dish out our plates for us. I felt very taken care of. You could tell that the gnocchi was homemade and fresh because it was so pillowy and delicious in your mouth. The porkchop surprised me, there was something about it that was so mouthwatering; a great cut of meat and flavourful slaw to accompany it with. But the real hero of the dinner was the steak, which I knew was what they were known for, but wow, it was spectacular and so full-flavoured. Perfect medium rare cook on the steak, with a juicy pink centre and a great crust on the outside of the steak. Truly prepared by a pro. Lastly, we had an assortment of desserts that came out with the dessert chef explaining each. The presentation was superior and it was so exciting to get such a variety of sweet flavours after our stellar dinner. We drank a nice light Californian red wine that was complimentary to everything we had eaten all night. And we capped the night off with an impressive espresso martini, as suggested to us, and it was perfection. A delicious and light drink with that bitter espresso bite to end off a terrific meal. This place completely exceeded my expectations and gave my partner and I a really memorable night. They absolutely know how to do fine dining right and deserve these 5 stars. I will be back for sure and I would without question recommend making a reservation here for a special night out.

A++ Really nice atmosphere, dope live piano on the scene. We had the seafood platter... well enjoyed, all In all. You should make a reservation for yourself !

Confused ambiance, well executed food and good service First impressions were mixed; the room is divided in two with one half designed around a bar and the other half as dining only. We sat in both rooms. The dining half was dimly lit in blue LED light inviting quiet conversation which was unfortunately punctuated by some of the younger clients. The bar section was however, brightly lit and on this particular evening offered live acoustic music which was excellent, but in between sets reverted to club music played just above conversation level making it difficult to hear one another. The food was plated and presented beautifully, and overall executed quite well though consistently under seasoned across courses/dishes. Service was professional, courteous and well timed. Though the few short comings could be overlooked for the food, the fine dining menu pricing is simply inconsistent with the confused ambiance - club music and blue LED lighting doesn't pair well with $22 martinis and similarly priced appetizers before spending twice that on an entree. Nice experience, though not one worth repeating.

Great ambiance and very chic set up. Customer service was exceptional. Food was good too. Only downside was there was a limited cut from the wagyu that we wanted to try but wasn't available due to a large company party. But the side dishes were tasty and everything came out in a timely manner. Steak was cooked to our liking too.

The service was amazing, as was their whiskey selection. Food quality was superb. My wife and I enjoyed an amazing meal here. They split dishes up so that we could have our own tastings. The selection was extensive. Being able to select local beef as well as USDA prime or Japanese Kobe was a treat.

This is a fantastic steak house. The menu and wine list are extensive and have the highest of high end options while still giving plenty of lower priced options for the everyman. The service from everyone involved from seating to serving to pouring was excellent. We opted to get the 42oz dry aged T-bone porterhouse and split it among the 3 of us and got 3 sides to share. It was definitely one of the best steaks I have ever had!

My go to place pre symphony. Excellent service. Best lobster bisque in town.

My wife and I went here for our second anniversary and the experience was positively divine. The staff was very attentive but also gave us time to enjoy our meal. We had the burrata and caesar salad to start which were both exceptional in flavour. For mains we had the 8 oz striploin from PEI and Markdale, Ontario with garlic mashed potatoes, blistered corn and shishito peppers. We also had artichoke compliments of the chef as well as some focaccia bread. To top it off, even though we did not order dessert our waitress brought us a small plate of cookies and fruit that said happy anniversary. We hope we can go back again, and try some even higher end steaks to celebrate an even bigger milestone! Would highly recommend if you want an elevated and memorable fine dining experience.

An excellent restaurant to dine in! The service was impeccable and the food outstanding. Everything cooked to perfection.

The restaurant was amazingly decorated with a very classy glass fireplace and dry aging room for steaks. Yep those are dry aging steaks in the first picture hanging in the cold room. The scotch was crazy expensive, nearly half the cost of the bottle and it was a very meager pour. The bread was rather bland and the three toppings were underwhelming. There was a vegetable tapenade, a pesto cheese and butter. All three were not tasty so they could not help the characterless bread. In fact, the bread was not nearly as good as a dinner roll you could get from the grocery store in a bag on the shelf. The complimentary crispy artichoke was out of this world. Just the right balance between crisp and soft and tangy and sweet. Quite tasty but again the Parmesan cheeses was less than stellar. But this antipasto was definitely on the excellent side. We had the smoked char appetizer. It came with creme fresh and sturgeon caviar. It was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. They said it was 30 year old caviar but I couldn’t tell the difference from the cheap store bought stuff. But it was good and just about two bites. If you are accustomed to smoked fish being salty and dry you will be disappointed. This smoked fish was moist and just slightly salted, reminiscent of the ocean but in no way overdone. We had the 65 day aged t-bone. Wow was it good. I have to say that it was probably the best steak I have ever eaten. Amazing. We also have the cauliflower and it was just perfectly prepared. Well the only major drawback was price. The cost was steep. I left full but the wallet was empty. Definitely a place to talk people you want to impress. I was conflicted in the star rating. Usually I save a 5 for both exceptional- food, service and price so I am going to stick with that. But if ever I was going to give 5 at these prices this would be the restaurant. Remember not to add any condiments cause each one is $5. We had about a tablespoon of creamed horseradish sauce and sure enough it was 5 bucks.

As a first time customer I'd say this place worth a shot. It's definitely on a pricy side and be prepared to spend hundreds but, all in all, the experience whether it's the interior, ambience, service or food will justify the cost at the end. Certainly, it's not an every day go to place unless you are rich enough. It's simply a unique experience.

Service was great from our waitress but I’m giving a 1 star review because my night was ruined by the General Manager Steve. He decided to make a snide remark comparing restaurants we’ve visited when asking about a charge on our bill. Also, we were waiting on the sommelier to come to our table the entire night as we were looking to purchase a bottle - which they never did. Turns out, Steve is the “sommelier” as stated on his business card. All in all, professionalism was not there. Will not be returning unless I want to be charged $100 for water.

A true stand out in the entertainment district. From drinks to dessert, the staff was professional and attentive. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The family sized sides were presented beautifully and tasted astounding. The chocolate meringue strata topped the dinner off perfectly. Be warned, this is not McDonalds. The bill will be a big bill. In this case, you will most definitely get what you pay for. A quality experience end to end.

This is the best dining experience in Toronto bar none. I've been to Alo, Scaramouche and every fine dining establishment in the city. Michael's is another level.

If you have actually eaten here I think it is highly unlikely you would give this restaurant anything other than a five star rating. They have an amazing collection of Waygu steaks and the starters are lovely. Highly recommend it

Amazing dinner with great service. Me and my bf appreciated the attentiveness of the staff they all worked together as a team and this adds to the exceptional positive experience. Atmosphere is great, oh ..and did I mention the food?! It was AMAZING. taste buds were woken up and all enjoying the thoroughly well thought out, designed and executed dishes. Thank you!

This place was amazing! Very intimate setting and the food was delicious. The service was also one of the best I have ever experienced!

I had dinner at Michael's On Simcoe this weekend for a girls night out and had an amazing experience. I don't get out often with kids at home so I was really happy that I had such a fantastic experience. The ambiance was just right. I really loved the fireplace! The food was incredible, amazing authentic pastas, steak cooked to perfection and the Raspberry Basil sorbet was just delicious. The taste of the food was not lost on the presentation. Kelly, our server was attentive, described the food perfectly and made great suggestions. A great night! I will definitely be back with my husband!

My first review of a restaurant, ever. The server walked away from our table as I was mid sentence telling him my order to assist another table (I guess they were VIP?). Gave us the wrong bottle of wine which cost $200 more than the one we ordered and then insisted on charging us. 10/10 for the story but 1/10 for the experience.

I went to this restaurant on my birthday, it was fabulous. the staff were so nice and friendly and they even wrote “ Happy birthday” in Korean, the food was out of this world. I am planning to go to this restaurant soon.

Stella Nova

Top class Steakhouse. Friendly and professional staff. Wonderful atmosphere

Right off the bat from walking into Michaels we felt like we had escaped downtown Toronto. We were immediately greeted by the most courteous of staff. Employees who were quite apparently not hostesses continuously made it a point to see how our service was throughout the night. It was significantly different from the downtown hustle and bustle. As for the food, we indulged shamelessly. We ordered the grilled octopus to start which had a delightful texture to it. I’m not typically a fan of seafood, but the server recommended it and he was quite right, it is absolutely worth a try. We also ordered the bolognese as a shareable dish and it was great. Fun fact: they use three meats and the pasta is made in-house. Kinda cool! Before mentioning the main course, I must talk about the cutlery. The steak knives were beautifully engraved pieces of art. I almost felt bad using them to cut the steak!! Regardless, once the entree arrived I had to carve right in. I ordered the PEI Striploin and it was lusciously marbled, thick and gratifying. I knew Michael’s wouldn’t disappoint! We ended the night with a Creme Brûlée and espresso martinis. I know I’ve rambled enough though, so I’ll let the photos speak for themselves. PS Seriously. Get the Creme Brûlée. There’s a secret little fire display accompanied with it!

Troy Kerr

Excellent service and a very appealing theme to it. The two things that were unpleasant was the fact my steak was just there by itself with no garnishes or mash and was just a little too much for a small piece of steak. Secondly, our seat was near the door and the door was opening up constantly and was getting pretty cold. But overall, the experience wasn’t bad.

TLDR: Avoid this restaurant at all cost, they are trying to scam their customers The staff made multiple mistakes which We thought were accidents, but I believe they were doing it on purpose to scam the customers. We ordered a 16oz steak, They tried to serve a 8oz steak and play it off as 16oz. We knew something was off when it was the exact same size as the other 8oz steak. The two servers were defensive saying one was medium and one was medium rare so the density is different. The manager than verified we got the right steak but the wrong size. No apology from the servers. The servers also kept serving the food to the wrong seats. Also, the server missed an item. At the end, they tried sneaking in a $75 corkage fee which they removed after we brought it up. Unbelievable service. They are trying to scam their customers.

Wonderful experience! I've never received such amazing service in my life. All the staff are so attentive and the food is fantastic.

Keily Hay

Gorgeous atmosphere from the moment we walked in, right through to our cozy rounded corner booth. Staff was very knowledgeable, attentive, amazing suggestions of wine and feed choices based on our tastes. Very very tasty food too, but that goes without saying!

Madeline Bubis

This may be the most expensive steak I have ever had, but it was also the best one. From the great service, the tremendous scotch and wine selections to the education on beef (breed, location, preparation, the texture and flavours to expect....and why....), Michael's is by far the best steakhouse I have ever been too. It is very, very pricy so I would recommend doing your homework so you are adequately prepared before going. All in all a great experience.

Rob Gugins

Good food, but not good enough for the price. I had the scallops and they were very salty and too chewy for that nice melt in your mouth effect you want from scallops. They subbed the farro for some potatoes which were delicious, however the broth itself was way too salty. I also had truffle mac n cheese which was okay, but also way too salty. My favourite part was this surprise tempura artichoke with cheese they brought out! Loved that! The server was super personable and the entire experience was lovely. If you order steak, you get to choose what weight knife you want to use. If only it was a little less salty.

Jolene Conti

Fantastic experience. Food is great, and complemented by attentive service and elegant ambiance. A night here won't come cheap, but a great choice for a special occasion. While their wine list will skew towards the high end, their selections are great so even the cheapest option will net you a really nice wine. Oh, and the cocktails are huge!

Jason C

Had dinner here for a birthday celebration and had an amazing time!

MJ Joustra

The food is excellent but the service and management is excellent!!! We were approached several time by the manager and he made sure all our needs are fulfilled! This is exactly what sets apparat a good restaurant from an excellent one! Great work! Easy 5 stars!!! Thank you for making our family evening so amazing!

Marsha Dodson

I went to this place recently and have a few things to say, the atmosphere is amazing, the service is awesome (that's why they got three starts), also the washrooms are unbelievable, they cared about every decoration detail. However, the quality of the food is very ordinary, not impressed at all. I could have the same steak or seafood platter much better in any other place and for so much less. I hope they improved the cooking because to paid almost $300 for two people, food should be exceptional.

Helena Shlapak

Went there with my husband. Great service. Food was excellent. I definitely recommend this place.

paris moda

Honeslty best steak house ever eaten at a lot of celebrities eat there steaks vary from 58 to 1350 lol service nothing like it ! Every single dish I would rate 5 star ! They even wipe your table with a crummer ! My go to place for steak if your in Toronto by far destroys any other steak house ! See y’all soon sincerely Mrbitcoinz!

A place of steak perfection. Ambience and service is also top-notch. Truly a memorable experience. Wife raved about the heated toilet seats, too :)

Jason Horowitz

This place is just amazing! The food, the service, the cocktails and even the toilets ???? 100% reccomend going here at least once. It is a bit expensive but totally worth it!

Dennis Kwan

Service was outstanding they went BEYOND expectations. Food was exceptional. Decoration is unique, beautiful paintings of Marilyn Monroe. Special THANKS to Carlo the General Manager and his staff. Katya (receptionist) the sommelier, the amazing server, the musician. Thank you all you guys for this Memorable experience. We will defiantly going back. Ale- Dom.

Matthew Wasserman

I was recommended this place and was very excited to go for my birthday but unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. My steak was not hot, it came out barely warm…and the taste was mediocre...I have had my fair share of steaks…cheap and expensive and this was not worth the price or a revisit. The service however was excellent and the ambiance was great. But overall would not recommend.

Went to Michaels for a networking event. From the initial greeting at the door to the table service, all staff members were very warm and welcoming. Considering the 3 course meal was cooked en mass for 40 people and brought out at the same time, the shrimp was cooked to perfection and steak a nice medium rare. I've also been on a separate occassion for dinner and had an excellent experience. Would highly recommend!

Michael's is one of my favourite restaurants in the city. I've been there for both business and social dinners. Excellent atmosphere and service. Great steaks, my husband says the dry aged T- bone was one of the best steaks he's ever had. I personally love ordering a variety of appetizers and the handmade pastas. The bolognese is amazing!

Lourde Rassam

Yesterday I attended Michael's for a birthday. The restaurant was very accommodating with moving our reservation to a later time due to traffic. Unfortunately the table was not ready when we arrived. The amuse bouche was very good and quite the surprise. Our starter caesar salad was better than average but below the competition. I ordered the Dry Aged Ribeye. It was easily the best I ever had. My wife ordered the Japanese Wagyu, which she very much enjoyed. The other member of our party ordered the crab legs which were very large and quite delicious. Drink service was very slow, which was a disappointment and ruined otherwise good service. Dessert was good and not the normal everyday fair. Check this place out if you are looking for an upscale modern dining experience.

Tatiana

This is one of the best steakhouses in North America, I dare say. The steak is wonderful, and the serving staff are just as impressive. There are many choices, and a very wide price range. The dessert options were wonderful as well, and I suggest the Butterscotch Crème Brulee.

Joseph Goldman

A little late on my review. I had my office holiday party here in December. We had 12 people in attendance. Everything was spectacular. Food was delicious, and service was outstanding!!! Can't wait to come back for dinner soon.

Sabhie Qadeer

Came here to have a nice evening, and was not disappointed at all. The restaurant presents a very attractive environment and the photos I saw online allured me to try this place out. We came in on a quiet evening and staff were very attentive and went out of their way to get to know us and understand what options on the menu we would enjoy. While waiting for appetizers, we were offered some compliments from the owner/kitchen. This was a pleasant surprise and added a nice touch to our dining experience. Although you'll need to be generous with your budget when dining here, you can be confident that the staff know how to ensure you have an excellent time here.

Sefuda Harzil

Phenomenal experience. Tenderloin was incredibly juicy and the sides were perfect. Great service, although a bit slow. We spent two hours here without dessert so you may want to think carefully if you are planning something after dinner. All things considered easily one of the best steakhouses in Toronto. Would not hesitate to recommend to others.

Nesreia Medina

The namesake to its owner, this restaurant consistently delivers a wonderful experience. A guaranteed good experience.
