I really enjoyed my experience at Anejo. We came here for the happy hour specials but ended up staying longer and ordering from their regular menu. The chili coco margarita was SO delicious with a hint of spiciness to it. The tacos I got were loaded with meat and it was very tasty. I’m sad I spilt the guava margarita all over myself, the unicorn salt was unfortunately quite tough to remove from my clothing :(. We got the guacamole but it wasn’t the best I’ve had. And we saw another table order a fancy looking stone bowl rice dish with sausage and Cactus and it was good. Overall would recommend this place for their drinks and tacos!

Came this weekend with my girlfriends. Had Guac, birria tacos, some cheesy mushroom taco roll things, fried tilapia tacos, plus churros and tres leche for dessert. Birria was the standout, but everything was amazing we even ordered a second tres leche cake. Margs also very good and a good price too, I really liked the spicy guava which isn’t on the menu but just ask for it. Our server Natalie was really nice and told us about halfy hour we will be back for sure!

Perhaps this place might be amazing for dinner. But we got the lunch 2-taco special and a 3-taco entree, plus one Modelo and one Dos Equis. The tacos were ok, but not noteworthy, and not served with any sides other than a ramekin of guac, some chips, and two tiny ramekins of pico. We both agreed their horseradish habanero mayo was delicious. But by the time we were done, after paying a whopping $20 to park around the corner, plus tax and tip, our lunch came to over $70 (not including cost of parking). No joke. Service was decent, but we had to wait nearly 10 minutes for our server to get our drink orders. And it was not a busy day. This place is totally overrated and overpriced for the experience & food to dollar ratio.

Food was delicious. Took us back to an awesome Mexico trip with the food, music and good vibes. The pork belly app was amazing. Drinks weren't light, just right. Adam was especially wonderful. Wish he was our server. His energy was a blessing after a long day of work. Also received great service from Glen. We had a different server before (cool accent, forgot his name). He was patient and kind, but he was done his shift. We later found it he was on a 6-day stretch and we would have never guessed because he was so positive and cracking jokes with us. In these times good customer service is everything. I can't wait to visit again.

Hubby and I stumbled on this little gem last night and HIGHLY RECCOMEND this place. We had just finished having dinner/drinks on a roof top patio nearby, which was ehhhhhhh. We didn't want to end the night so we decided to check Anejo out. There was a wait for the patio but we were offered inside dining instead. By far the highlight of our night. Cool ambience. Our server Kelly, can't say enough. Amazing personality, very engaging, attentive and prompt. She was so bubbly which enhanced our evening even more. GM Zach came over introduced himself to us and we had a little chat. All the staff were super friendly. We just had drinks and we wish we had eaten there because everything out of the kitchen looked and smelled amazing. I loved the vibe/place so much, i even bought the server's t-shirt (I ❤ Tequila) LOL. A definite A+ experience and will most definitely be returning to eat!

Used to be one of my favorite Mexican places in the city! Their happy hour is one of the best in the city. The issue I have with this place is that they are dishonest when it comes to seating. I checked myself in on the waitlist around 10:30 pm for the patio and was told it would be 20 minutes. After waiting 1.5 hours I decided to check back in and they said they are closing and not taking anyone else. It would have been nice if I got the text from them as they said they would. Anyways fast forward to a few days later. I went again tonight I called before going letting them know my situation from last week and they assured me that I would have a place to sit outside once I arrived (I'm not fully vaxxed yet). Once I arrived they put me on the waitlist again which isn't an issue considering how busy it was but again after almost 2 hours I did not hear back from them even though they told me 20 minutes max. I called this time to make sure and they still never even took the time to reply to me. This was the second time in a week that I wasted over an 1 hr time waiting in front for the phone call/text. Very disappointed! They should notify customers instead of making them wait for 1.5 hrs just to be told they aren't taking anymore customers!

Meh.. The food was alright. The Margaritas were good as well. The server didn't know anything about the wine list. The menu, written in Spanish, was full of grammar errors and when I pointed it out to the server he seemed uncomfortable about it.. Besides that the service was slow and not quite as attentive as you would expect for a restaurant on King West... They have a lot of competition on that street and to be honest its one of my least favourite places so far. Pablo's is 100x better unfortunately.

Had an amazing experience here last week- 8 of us were celebrating a friends birthday and it couldn’t have gone better. The food was amazing- seriously one of the best fish tacos I’ve ever had- and the atmosphere is unmatched, as it feels like you’re in an underground cantina. The selection of tequilas they have is a little overwhelming, but we had our waiter recommend one to us and we loved it! If you’re looking for great food in a restaurant with some character, this is the place! Highly recommend stopping by, even just to sit at the bar.

Hey! I want to share the horrible experience I had at this place. I went there with my family at 8:00 pm, the last Sunday 12/12/2021, They asked me I wanted to drink something so I did order 3 drinks and a juice for my daughter. At 8:45pm the drinks arrived but not the juice so I ask for it and order my food right away, they told me that the juice was on the way because the bartender was busy lol. We waited until 10:15pm to get the food and still no juice! I asked again for it and a coke to the manager and he said he was coming back which he never did, but the waiter finally brought just the juice obviously, I guess the bartender was still busy to send the coke. After all that I tried to eat the food and was super nasty, literally I ordered some rice and it had water in it, didn't taste like nothing and all the vegetables, not only in my plate, were burned. So I asked for my bill and I told the waiter about it, which tried to help out, but the manager just sent his business card with the bill for $160 lol. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE.

It was my first time here, and although it was very busy, our server Zee took great care of us. The service was fast, the tacos were delicious (the tilapia was my favourite!) and the margaritas were made well. I tried the blood orange, mango, guava, blueberry basil and they were all sooo good! Highly recommend going during their happy hour, as the shots, margaritas and classic tacos are half off. We had a great time and will definitely be returning!

I have never had chicken as juicy and delicious as the chicken inside of the chicken taco. Highly recommended please don’t be a fool!

It’s actually a nice place, but with horrible initial service I’ll probably never come back. I walked out and went to a restaurant where they know how to treat people across the street (Ruby Soho). I have to admit that I have not had the opportunity to enjoy what looked the the amazing food and drink offered at this restaurant, but what I can say is that the staff are amazing. I was riding my bike last night and lost my chain and pulled beside Anejo to fix my bike. As a result my hands were covered in grease. The staff saw I was in trouble and were extremely sympathetic and allowed me (after dinning my mask and passing their screen both of which I was completely hood with) into the restaurant to wash up. It was very kind and generous of them and something I’ll never forget and if Anejo’s food and drink offerings are anything like their staff, I know it’ll all be amazing. Thank you to you amazing staff!

My new favourite mexican restaurant in Toronto. I was very pleased with their service. Their mango margaritas are the best. Pleasantly surprised by the delivery of uniquely crafted Mexican dishes. I should have taken a picture of the Molcajete de Carne! It was delicious! The tortilla soup has the perfect flavour combinations and texture balance. Last but not least,... save a space for dessert! Totally worth it ;)

Perfect for a Date night. Good ambiance, great drinks and delicious food. Went in on a Wednesday night for 8 pm. The place was moderately busy. The service was quick. We ordered - 1. Guacamole bowl - comes with tortilla chips. The servers bring the freshly cut avocado in a stone bowl along with seasonings of onions, cilantro, tomatoes and jalapeños; mixes and prepares the Guacamole right in front of you. 2. 3 pcs Tacos - Crispy Fried Tilapia x 1. Chicken Tinga x 2. 3. Tacos Vegetariano - Comes in 3 pcs. Our Host Becca was very lovely and had some really good recommendations for drinks - 1. La Rosa Negroni 2. Featured Magarita - changes every month and is made with Tromba Tequila. Good quality and quantity. Definitely going back for the drinks.

First time there, because of the raving reviews. Pro, good atmosphere and attentive server, but I won't recommend this place purely for their food. Cons, this place is definitely better than fast food or food court Mexican food but as a restaurant I don't think it delivers. To me Mexican food is healthy, fresh and lots of side fresh ingredients not too meaty and heavy. I missed the Mexican food in San Diego and LA; Cozumel and Mexico city.

New place, discovered it by chance and glad I did! A variety of choices in tequila that you could take as a shot or request to be mixed into a cocktail. Guacomole is a must have .. they mash and mix it right in front of you with customized spice levels. Excellent margaritas in the menu .. Coconut Chilli is fantastic! You can request any of their margaritas to be spiced up. Tried Ginger Margarita with added spice. Really enjoyed the extra spicy kick! Also tried Guava, Mango and Cucumber Cilantro flavors, they were all good. Tasty tacos, tried fish and chicken taco .. Loved the green habanero sauce on my tacos! Awesome ambience, great service, very friendly staff! Will definitely go back and take more of my friends!

This was a few weeks in February ago but with me just having just come from Colombia in January, I may be giving Anejo a hard review. The coconut shrimp with sauce was okay. The tuna poke was yummy. My favorite out of everything. My disappointment was with the tacos. We ordered all of the Tacos classic. There was not one that I liked. It was basic flavored and boring. We didn't even bother touching the last two tacos Our waiter spoke way too fast for us to understand and he did not even ask us as to why we did not finish the tacos or how was the food. He was a nice guy though. The servers were slightly clumsy and kept dropping things. We were not given plates or utensils until the waiter noticed we did not have any. I had the Anejo sangria which tasted great. That pretty much summed up our night. Hopefully it's better there now.

Had a really nice meal here on their third day of business. The margaritas were delicious, and they nailed their Latin flavors. My only criticism is the service was slow, and they didn’t toast their corn tortillas at all for our tacos. For a place that got all the other flavors so right, I think they may have accidentally forgotten. Regardless, the service was friendly and the restaurant space is beautiful. I’d happily come back here and bet they’ll work out all these hiccups soon!

My two friends and I came here to celebrate a birthday this weekend. We were so excited to try this new Mexican hot-spot, but were sadly very underwhelmed. The restaurant has a cool ambiance, it reminded us a lot of El Catrin, but definitely smaller in size. We ordered drinks right away and I requested for my margarita to have no salt. I love margaritas, but my blood pressure sadly can't handle all of the salt. Our server brought water in between us ordering our drinks and receiving them. When our drinks arrived, we were all ready to order our appetizer and mains. Our server informed me know that the bar staff forgot my request for no salt, but it was okay because the glass was only half salted? That's quite an easy fix... Anyway, we ordered the guacamole, of course, which was fantastic. Came tableside, also like El Catrin, but portion was a little bigger! 45 minutes later...we were picking at broken chips when a floor manager informed us that the rice did not turn out the way they wanted it to. Rice? Really? Myself and my friend had a dish that came with rice and our other friend happened to order a side of it. He offered some vegetables and/or a side salad instead, which confused us because in that time a lot of rice could have been cooked. My dish, for example, was a poblano pepper stuffed with cheese, so I was looking forward to some carbs with my dinner. We kind of gave him a look when he offered vegetables, which prompted him to add a shot of tequila into the mix. While we appreciated the manager coming over to recover the situation, we wondered why it took so long and why he looked annoyed when we didn't seem to be impressed with his first solution. About 10-15 minutes later, our mains finally arrived. We were very surprised to see the side of rice made it, but our rice did not...or could not. After all of that! We had to ask our server three times for water. She mentioned how tired she was, which is so understandable, but something you don't necessarily want to think about as a guest. We ordered the churros for the birthday guest, which were fairly good. We headed into 'happy hour,' so I did get another margarita, no salt, for half price. This was necessary since we missed our next reservation that night. Two stars for the food we did get. Room for improvement for sure.

I am not sure whether my expectation was too high. To begin with, the liquor was quite expensive. It cost us $25 pre tax for the 2 liquor in my pic. I would not come here for drink other than happy hours. Food is okay. Although the quantity make the food kind of pricey. But I guess they are really short of hands now. We waited our server 20mins for the bill and another 10mins for the machine. I won’t come here again anytime soon.

We love coming here during their happy hour for half price margaritas. You can order the fundido with chips instead of tortillas as recommended by our lovely server. The tres leches cake is delicious and citrus-y.

This place is really charming. I've been twice since it opened 2 weeks ago, and each time the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and the place was always busy! One of the Managers, Trevor, came around periodically to make sure we were having a good experience - he also gave some amazing recommendations, of which I tried all (thanks Trevor!). I had the Pork Belly Carnitas and the stuffed jalapenos which were NEXT LEVEL. For the main dish I had the Pork Belly Poblano which was recommended by everyone - and for good reason. INSANE. Try this. The Mararitas. Boy. People who tell you they don't like tequila probably only ever had cheap unfiltered moonshine that had been rolling around in someones truck all summer. Tequila is great! These margarita's were delicious and because of who I am as a person I ended up trying every single Margarita. For science (there are 12???). They are mixed to perfection. The Classic Margarita is great but my favourite is the Chili Coconut, which was recommended by all the staff. Flavours were unreal. Overall, Anejo is a welcome addition to King Street. On a strip of nondescript bars, it brings a little spice and a different flavour to the area which I very much enjoy.

As King Street continues to be a hot spot for bars, clubs, and dives, Anejo has certainly cemented its rightful place for fresh flavors and refreshing drinks! There can be a slight wait at times, but the wait is worth it for the ambiance (indoor dining or patio) and the experience. My friend and I were seated immediately and we were welcomed graciously by the wait staff. The waiters offered their terrific suggestions on margaritas and tacos. We ordered the tableside guacamole, a few tacos, and mango margaritas. The tableside guacamole was prepared fresh at the table where you can customize the spice level to your liking. The overall flavor was good and it was nice to get unlimited chips to enjoy all the guacamole that we were served. The tacos were solid overall. There are many proteins and vegetarian options to select from. My personal favorites were the beef barbacoa and pulled pork. The meats were tender and best enjoyed with the selection of hot sauces to add more spice to each bite. The margaritas were good, pricey, but refreshing to cleanse your palate after all the tacos and guacamole. Overall, I can't wait to visit again for some fun and delicious eats!

I am a big fan of Mexicain restaurants so I was thrilled for Anejo to open its doors. I organized my friend’s birthday there as we all live close by. I was beyond disappointed. First, their prices are insanely expensive. Expensive is a standard in this area but I am emphasizing on ‘insanely’ because the food is very very low quality. Super small portions for a $20+ meal?! I got fish tacos and it only came with the tortilla, a deep fried piece of fish and dry cabbage. I had to garnish it myself with what my friends ordered to make eatable. The guacamole was way too salty. This dinner was way too expensive for what I got. This is not fine dining... I got pizza across the street afterwards. Very disappointed.

So Anejo is definitely my favorite Mexican spot in town now! Yusra was helping us that night and her customer service was amazing. Another Mexican restaurant on Adelaide & Portland used to be my place to go for spicy margarita, but now I go back to Anejo as I loved their cucumber cilantro margarita. Guacamole that I had was definitely better than what I tasted in Mexico! And their tacos birria con res, is definitely the best taco I had in my life. The interior and atmosphere was great! Anejo is definitely my new favorite spot in town!

What a surprise. We saw this place while looking for a drink spot, turned out that it's a fine Mexican diner. The waiter recommended us something and I think it's called Molcajete De Carne (after checking back the menu). It came with a stone bowl and a box of tortilla, there were all kinds of meat and vegetables and cheese in it. Turned out super yum. Highly recommend. And of course we ordered drinks too. It's quite a trendy place, great ambience. Will come here for a proper dinner someday.

Came for the ceviche tasting platter, tequila, and the interesting vibe, but stayed for the pork belly tacos. Food was excellent with flavours that melded well, and was finished off with tasty, tangy, and varied hot sauces. Margarita was on-point: not too sour, not too sweet. Washrooms were spotless. Servers were friendly, seemed to enjoy their jobs (always a plus). Bonus that the interactions we witnessed between management and staff were courteous and respectful. 10/10

Our waitress certainly scammed us. A friend and I went in and asked about the Happy Hour specials and she advised we were past happy hour. Instead she proposed an alternative tequila shot that was 50% off. So we agreed trusting their opinion, once we got the bill we learned it was a $75 shot (reg $150). Horrible scamming service, they will rip you off. Would advise against this place.

This just opened on King and Portland. The decor and ambiance is cool with Mexican flair but maintains a King St vibe at the same time. The problem for me was with the food. I ordered enchiladas. For 24$ only 3 enchiladas were provided and a small side salad. Portion size is way too small for that price point. The enchilada presentation looked like a frozen lean cuisine meal someone popped out of a microwave. The quality and taste just weren’t there. The enchiladas were dry, not enough sauce. The service was okay but the server went a bit overboard with checking on us. It felt like a shark circling the table. She was trying to pull plates away before me and the other 3 people at my table were finished. If you know the area you know that there are better choices nearby. I’m going to stick to my regular go-to spots when I’m craving Mexican. Buen provecho!

Excellent dining experience at Anejo. This beautiful taqueria bar has ample indoor and outdoor seating, delicious food and great service. Our server James was very attentive and the manager Zach gave us excellent recommendations when ordering food. The food was really tasty! I absolutely loved the pork belly carnitas, so yummy 10/10. The Fundido traditional which I saw in their Instagram before going in was also delicious 10/10. We ordered tacos and guacamole as well, they were both great. We were so pleased with our meal that we ordered dessert, the churros were a great sweet finish to our meal. I loved my experience solid 10/10 experience at Anejo and so much so I’m planning to host my birthday dinner here.

However i have to say that coctails and mixed drinks were a let down. We tried margaritas, michelada and vodka ceaser. Non of them were memorable (average at best).

First off, the margs & the food are AMAZING here! Huge tequila selection & the staff know their stuff! It is always a great experience coming in here & trying new drinks/ snacks. However, to top it off, this restaurant has shown me the best hospitality I have ever experienced! A strange situation happened to me while I was out for drinks with a couple of co-workers a few weeks ago at this establishment. My server was so polite to me and truly caring. The management and staff went so above and beyond to help me resolve the situation, it absolutely blew me away. They literally took a bad situation and turned it into a good one for me. Next time you feel like some margaritas or some tacos, or even are just deciding where to go for a night out, it would be a mistake not to visit this place! We asked to be put on the waiting list for a table for 2, and were told it would be a 40 minute wait. Almost exactly 40 minutes later, we got a call that our table was ready. We were just finishing up some beers, so asked if we could skip our space and get back on the wait-list, and the staff held our table for 10 minutes so we could wrap up the drinks at another location :) Service was very very good and the food and drinks were delicious. I ordered the red sangria and molcajete de carne. Portion size and presentation were great for both. They have a nice patio and great atmosphere inside as well. All in all we were very pleased with our dinner here.

Did a fish taco and beef taco for the main and they were awesome! Preferred the flour tortilla but both were really tasty, and churros were excellent as well! Quite possibly the best happy hour in Toronto right now. Normally happy hour service is sub par in Toronto, but the service was exceptional. A reliable spot for great food and drinks! My friends loved the assortment of cocktails and tequilas and I loved my mocktail margaritas. As someone that's usually sober it was nice to be able to enjoy a drink that wasn't just juice or pop, there was so much flavour and many options. I have to say I had a brilliant Mexican meal at Anejo ????. I went with my husband and we had chicken tacos, Ginger coconut prawns, Stuffed jalapeños, Pork belly poblano and a steak with bacon wrapped asparagus. For drinks, we tried the Strawberry margarita and Mango margarita. The food is to die for. I would highly recommend the tacos, the poblano and the stuffed jalapeños. The flavours are bang on and the food tasted really fresh. The vibe of the patio is great and I would love to be back. Other than that, I would let my pictures do the talking ????

We happened across Anejo in our search for lunch one Saturday afternoon. The group we were with enjoy Mexican fare and the sugar skulls highlighting the outdoor booths drew us in. We were seated at a booth and brought up the menus on our phones. There was a long list of tequilas and lots of different options on the menu. We went in a little hungrier than we should have and ordered a bit too much. That being said, the food was well done. We started with a flight of salsas accompanied with tortilla chips - great starter. We ordered some tortilla soups to share - they hit the spot. For our mains, most opted for the soft tacos but I was a little more adventurous and got a skillet dish - it included grilled cactus, vegetables, chorizo, chicken and soft tortillas. The meal overall was delicious. Some highlights included the indoor area that was stunning (looking to go back and dine inside), the food was delicious and hot, lots of variety on the menu, and cute outdoor ambiance. Lastly, it was great how they handled a misstep a part of the order. My Aunt ordered a couple of tacos and one didn't have the chorizo she requested. They brought out a fresh taco super quick and made it right. It was a great little find and we will definitely be back.

Ok so we came here because it has 4.4 ⭐️ reviews BUT we left disappointed! My best friend and I (both born and raised Mexicans) came here for a late birthday dinner and we were excited because we were going to eat Mexican! But uh oh! We got the Fundido to start and it was good, tasty. I asked the server if there were some home made salsas available, they only have bottle ones (Cholula, Valentina, El Yucateco), she mentioned they had a home made one but it was MAYO! Mayo!!! For mains I had Molcajete de Carne and my friend Birria al Res (tacos), the taste was ok, just ok… my friend wasn’t impressed with the Birria at all and the consomé that comes with it, she didn’t touch it. We also had two margaritas, the Mezcalarita. Our server suggested to go with the double as it came on a tall glass… it wasn’t a tall glass, it was a regular glass and no way they were doubles, it was impossible to fit a double in those glasses. Also, they did not have salt or pepper shakers, which we found funny. Our server was great, super friendly and helpful, I think she was the best part of the evening and restaurant.

LOVE this place! Wish I took a picture of the food. While it’s a little pricey, it’s definitely worth it. When it comes to the guacamole and salsa, then bring the raw ingredients in a mortar and pestal and make it right in front of you. Highly recommend ordering this. One guac and one salsa was enough of an app for 6 people. The tacos were all very good, their hot sauces and spicy mayo make them 10x better.

I was walking around downtown when a craving for a good margarita hit me and I saw this place and said let’s go! The decor and atmosphere is amazing I will definitely be back for food!

Three things that made me hate this place: 1. Very mediocre Mexican food 2. Waitress keeps upwelling us- whenever we ordered something she asked for us to double it 3. Mandatory 20% tip! And the waitress has the gut to say “add more if you like”!

A chill vibe with great Mexican food made from fresh ingredients. Unassuming from the outside until you walk down and get a whiff of the savory spices. Had the flat iron steak and sampled some of tacos along with the salsa's. Great house made salsas, and sauces. The classic and strawberry margaritas were tasty. My favorite was mezcalirita.
