Super nice staff! If you're not used to eating greek they do not mind helping you decide. The food is good and reasonably priced for what it is. The mood is nice. The only improvement I can think of is signage, it is almost hidden from the main road. Otherwise check this place out!

Perhaps Naxos is good for dinner ... But it served me a savagely bad breakfast of regret. I ordered the 11.00$ breakfast with 2 eggs scrambled, sausage and pancakes. The first problem was they served the pancakes with MARGARINE and not the Becel kind. There is no excuse for serving coronary inducing margarine. I ordered hot water initially and the waitress made a face ... But that is all I can drink first thing. Later I ordered orange juice which was not as good as even the cheapest in the supermarket. The sausages were super salty. The food was hot and the pancakes potatoes were done right .... Other than that it was a disaster....

Lovely patio, excellent service but for bringing one person the wrong meal. Staff apologized profusely and offered to correct their mistake without hesitation. Food excellent! Only other thing; the music was a tad too loud right beside the speaker. Another set on the other side of the patio would allow them to turn it down.

The food is fantastic. The prices are moderate but certainly not cheap. The service is hit or miss. The takeout system needs to be revamped. Whenever I order a pick up order I am shuffled from person to person and it's never ready in the amount of time they say. No one really seems to know the procedure for take out. The late night appetizer special is popular. The owner is often around and her level of commitment to the restaurant is to be commended.

Disgusting gyros..meat was the prepackaged stuff like you find in the frozen food section of the grocery store..$20 for a gyros platter, forgot my rice, no dressing on my salad, carrots & broccoli were good as was the pita..disappointed..way overpriced for the quality of the food..$9 for a piece of pineapple upside cake!! Definitely would not go back!

I realize with the way the year is and all the regulations that businesses have, but we were served, the waiter never came back to our table to see how we were doing or if we needed a drink refill...but there was a table of women behind us, and it seemed he was over there asking them questions every couple minutes. This was my first time eating here and was recommended by an employee working at the Best Western. I was traveling with my fiance and it happened to be her birthday. Penny the owner and her staff made it such a memorable day for both of us. The food was fantastic and our waiter was very accommodating. After our meal we decided to stay for drinks. Penny approached each table to make sure our expectations were met. I highly recommend this restaurant! Cant wait to eat here again when traveling through Thunder Bay.

Travelling from southern ontario and used trip advisor to find a great takeout restaurant. What a great find. Ordered chicken souvlaki platter. It was fantastic. Two young ladies that assisted me were very friendly and did a great job with the covid protocols. They added a popcorn snack thanking me for my business. Nice touch.

Good food. Smaller portion size for what I spent. Paid $31 for a small bowl of Caesar salad and a single lamb skewer. If the price was proportionate with the quantity, I'd definitely have rated them higher. Not the most juiciest and best quality lamb souvlaki I have ever had, but definitely good enough that one won't be disappointed. I would give 3.5 stars if I could, 3 is definitely not deserved nor 4 :)

Had a wonderful light lunch Friday afternoon. Wings and beer, wings were cooked perfectly. Service was wonderful and pleasant. Most impressed with their covid procedures. I being a cancer serviver, this was truly the most impressive attitude I've encountered in Thunder Bay. Awesome job, and of course we will return.

Food was great! Steak cooked to perfection and was tender and tasty. Coffee was a little weak, and they do not give you much peanut butter or jam for your breakfast toast. Also the price is higher here than at other conparable restaurants in the city. All in all, it was a good experience, and I'll be back.

I gave a good rating the last time I visited this restaurant. The service from Jeff was stellar! Unfortunately, on this second visit with my husband the food took a very long time to arrive and the potatoes and other veggies were cold. We told Jeff about it and he brought us hot broccoli and carrots, but let's face it the roasted potatoes were the stars of that platter! When I paid for the food, I was asked how everything was and I told the young lady that the food was cold. She said she was sorry to hear that. I don't think we will be back. I convinced my husband this was a great restaurant and it was just alright. He googled a few Greek restaurants, and I asked him to drive across town for this one. If there is no consistency in the quality of food, what's the point of being a repeat customer. The first visit was wonderful and this visit makes me not want to return.

Traveling through Thunder Bay and chose Naxos for a family dinner. A great meal! Greek classics with lots of other options. The pickerel was amazing. Lamb and Pork Sloavoki was excellent. Baklava incredible. Covid restrictions handled well. It was busy.

Great service, delicious food Just had an amazing take-out supper..spanikopita, bruschetta, greek salad, fettuccine Alfredo and chicken souvlaki platter split between my family of 4..it was very reasonably priced.. more that enough food; very generous portions, and everything was absolutely delicious! My kids were disappointed when I told them we weren't having our typical Saturday fast food take-out. Now they can barely move after stuffing their tummys so full and they can't wait until tomorrow when they get to have left-overs for lunch ???? Also, service was exceptional..I really appreciated how they brought our food right out to our vehicle. Thanks! We look forward to our next order!

Having eaten at the Danforth in Toronto, I was shocked by the takeout of the pork souvlaki dinner . I paid $17.00 for one Meal. Unfortunately, I bought two meals. This would cost about $8.00 on the Danforth and you would get twice as much. Give me a break.. The amount of rice provided as about 3-4 tablespoonfuls How much does it cost to provide a more generous portion of rice? I guess Thunder Bay does not know what real Greek food should be. My son said this looked more like a snack than a meal. The Greek salad was not authentic. Well, once is enough.Learned my lesson.

The covid paranoia at this restaurant is palpable and made it uncomfortable to eat there, and it used to ne my favourite place for breakfast. If you like salt and pepper bring your own because there are no shakers and they give very little.

Good food, great service (Jeff) reasonable prices. Has bar side and restaurant side for different atmospheres. Chicken souvlaki platter was good and lots of food. Only downside (small) is that we wanted bruschetta without the olives and it was already mixed together, so no bruschetta for us. Can't handle olives. Did not detract from our meal at all though. Will definitely eat here again when in Thunder Bay.

My family was there this past Saturday afternoon there were about 12/13 of us. We were sitting on the patio. So we pretty much took up the whole thing. We are a funny bunch of people we can get kinda loud and love to get people a hard time if they can take and give it back. We had the best service from the young lady who was serving us. I am so sorry but I didn't get her name. She was working Saturday afternoon 1230. Very pretty and blonde but most of all fantastic service. We will definitely be back. Great job miss.

I have been going here since the day they opened, and the owner Penny really cares about her restaurant and customers. It shows big time, and you always feel appreciated when you visit. Even during the pandemic she has been sending out thank yous with the meals and telling everyone how much they are appreciated. This is the way to run a restaurant.

Did not have a very good experience this am My daughter and I came for breakfast, we were met by a very friendly hostess who seated us and soon returned with our coffee and menues stating that our server would be there soon. When our server arrived at the table she did not greet us or make eye contact When asked what we wanted my daughter ordered a salad to which she responded " boring", after taking my order she said "well that's better Salad goes good with steak"- I informed her that my daughter was vegan and this is what she wanted to order. One of the most underrated restaurants in Thunder Bay. The food is great but it's the service that really shines. Not once have I been there and not had the owner come up to me and ask me how or dinner is going, but never in an intrusive way. Its the type of thing you never get any more. A Greek restaurant on the outskirts of Arthur Street near the Thunder Bay Express Way, Naxos is sure to fill any craving you may have for a hearty meal. They serve breakfast until 4pm and have a wide variety of entrees to choose from. The atmosphere in this restaurant is relaxed and reminds me of a small cafe in Greece. If you are on your way out of or into the city, Naxos is a sure stop to fill your belly.

I like hot food and this wasn't the case. That and the pickerel being absolutely tasteless means this was our last visit. The two stars is for the waitress who was very good. Last time here we mentioned short comings when we paid the cheque, the owner jumped all over us and basically said it was our fault for not complaining. Don't need the hassle when when we're out with friends for a nice evening.

My cousin amd a few friends worked here and we would go in for drinks and apps often and was never disappointed. Also loved that they had a patio in summer and had a few bevy on hot days there. When it first open it was such a new innovative place to tbay with not a few dishes that were exciting and "excotic" I have always lived Greek food and was happy to see those dishes on the menu and it was nice they kept a great breakfast for the customers that were loyal to the previous place that was I there. Either way if you want a drink and apps or a great breakfast they got you covered fir that and everything inbetween

Naxo's has a great atmosphere with some banger background music. The waiting staff was kind and talkative. The furniture is a bit uncomfortable, but it didn't cause me any undue stress. I ordered the chicken souvlaki platter and a greek salad, and both were overall decent. I've had better greek salad before, but I still enjoyed eating it. For the chicken souvlaki, I liked the vegetables the least since they were just boiled or steamed with no seasoning. The potatoes were quite tasty as was the rice. I was most impressed by the chicken and its accompanying tzatziki. The chicken was grilled near perfectly with plenty of flavour and the tzatziki was the best I have ever tasted. It was creamy and slightly acidic without tasting bitter. It served to enhance the flavour of the chicken and brought the dish together in a mildly impressive way. The presentation of the greek salad and chicken souvlaki were both done in an appealing way. Overall, I enjoyed the dish, but I wish the cooking staff would make the vegetables their own delicious portion of the dish by roasting or grilling them instead of just adding the bland steamed broccoli and carrots in as an afterthought. Naxo's is a good place to take a date out for dinner, or to treat the parents. I enjoyed the dining experience and would consider visiting again.

We were referred to this restaurant by our hotel. The saganaki (flaming cheese) dish came highly reccomend, and we were NOT DISAPPOINTED! We arrived about an hour before close (11pm) and we were greeted with smiling faces. We have been traveling for 10 days and we were desperately looking for some good food. Our waitress Sam was very attentive and crazy nice. She was filling our drinks before we even asked. The other staff and owner were just amazing. Cleaning our table and getting us take away containers while walking by. The owner came and introduced herself to us and wished us well on out travels. We had the Calamari and Saganaki to start. The calamari came with red onions which we were a little turned off by. Once we tried it we were blown away; the calamari with the onion and tzatziki was outstanding!!!! We ordered the 10oz rib eye and the Jimmy's jambalaya with ceasar salads to start. The rib eye was cooked PERFECTLY and the potatoes were just mouth watering. The pasta was HUGE, crazy filling and just to die for! Since everything was just amazing we had to see what their dessert was like. They didnt have a menu but Sam knew everything to a T. She was very patient when explaining everything to us. We had the cheese cake with strawberries. Big bits of strawberries and glaze on a nice thick tall slice of creamy cheesecake. Just made the night perfect! HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

To be honest, I don't even want to give one star. I never write reviews, but I've never experienced public judgement like this before. My mom and I went to have breakfast this morning and I asked the waitress if I could order a salad. She said it was fine and gave us a couple minutes to decide. When she came back, her disposition changed completely. I order the garden salad and she just stares at me blankly, then turns to her pad and writes a note. My mom orders an omlette and she says, "That's much better." I responded with, "Excuse me?" And she turns to me with disgust, looks me up and down, and says, "Salads are boring." I started defending myself, saying that I feel so vibrant when I eat salad. She says that salad only goes well with steak. My mom tells her I'm vegan and she rolls her eyes. She's about to walk away and I stop her, saying "You're being very rude. It shouldn't matter what I eat." She talks over top of me, saying it's not real food. Then I turn to my mom and say, "Actually, I don't want to eat here. Let's go." I've never been judged for my choice of food in this capacity before. There are plenty of other places that are happy to serve me salad. I'm sure it will be a relief to the owners that I'm never coming back. I hope you know how powerful word-of-mouth is, because I'm not going to be the only one boycotting Naxo's.

Brought my parents here and now they always ask to go when they visit. Staff is awesome! Went there on a wim and ordered typical Greek foods. We had a problem with how the meats were cooked. Informed the waiter and the owner came out herself. She apologized replaced some food and gave us a $20 gift certificate. That was super classy and we left more then happy!! I would go back and recommend to anyone. Very good Greek food. Had the Lamb souvlaki that was cooked just right. Was in Greece years ago and had Greek salad. They do not put lettuce in their Greek salad, just pepper, onions, cucumbers, olives and chunks of Feta cheese. The Greek salad on the menu is what I would call your typical “Canadian” Greek salad with lettuce, but they had another salad (which I do not recall the name on the menu) that was exactly like the Greek salad I had in Greece. Adding a pic to show what I mean. All in all it was very good. The service was great. The red Greek wine was very tasty as well. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will definitely come back when visiting Thunder Bay.

Great spanakopita, chicken noodle soup tasty, nice greek salad riper tomatoes and a few more pieces of cucumber and olives would be a little more like a greek salad great dressing. We also had the pork and chicken souvlaki tasty. Too full for dessert

Just check out the pics to see how good the food looks, it tastes even better. The nachos are cheesy, they don't skimp. The dry ribs are big a meaty, and the Saganaki is always entertaining to order!

This place was absolutely amazing! I visited this restaurant during the height of the covid19 pandemic. I was extremely impressed with their attention to safety, cleanliness and comfort. The food was INCREDIBLE! At first I thought their pricing might be a bit high… but when the food came it was beyond reasonable. The portion sizes were very large, the produce was beyond fresh… and the taste was just amazing. Well worth every Penny and more! Lastly, the service and attention was top shelf. I cannot begin to describe how attentive and efficient our server was. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!

Went for lunch today and walked out after waiting 20 minutes. Waitress just kept walking by in the next aisle after giving us water. Then proceeded to serve and take the order for the table that sat down 15 min. after us. Then started arguing with me that we were waiting for another person?? Ya, the invisible man, he's already here! Pretty poor service. Went to Pita Pit and basically finished lunch 20 minutes total.

It is one of the few places for breakfast on this side of town. Every time I have gone it has just been average. I have never been thrilled with a meal I got. It is always clean, and staff has always been pleasant though.

Good, friendly service. Food was satisfactory. Clean and pleasant atmosphere. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is simply because i feel that when paying a premium price for a burger it should most definitely come with a side, which it didn't. Overall i enjoyed my visit and will be back again.

Penny's place is phenomenal. I have visited many greek restaurants in my day and have to say that she has not jeopardized integrity in any way. Food was awesome and authentic. She even came over and had a full blown conversation with me. Then she was so kind to bring me some homemade baklava. Melted in my mouth. Ef Kari Sto Penny and I will definitely be back.

The patio is open for dining and only has 5 tables which all have large umbrellas. They are not taking reservations so you attend, sign in and they advise you how long the wait will be. We had an hour so went back to the hotel for 30 minutes and then walked back. We had a further 20 minute wait in the shade and were then seated. Serving staff were there immediately to introduce themselves and take drink orders. These were delivered quickly and we were given plenty if time to browse the menu. The owner circulated through the tables a number of times to ensure everything was satisfactory and to thank each couple for dining there. Covid requirements are being maintained for everyone's safety and masks are required until we were seated, and when we got up to leave. We ordered appies, mains and sides and also dessert for later. The salads and calamari were delicious as was the lamb souvlaki. There was so much food, we were unable to finish a bit of the meal. The prices were very reasonable and I look forward to visiting Naxos on our next visit to Thunder Bay. I should add that if you can't attend there, they have a delivery driver to bring the order as well as offering a takeout option. Yesterday was their first day open to patio dining and all was very well planned, very safe and a pleasure to enjoy. (The desserts we took with is to enjoy later at the hotel.)

Friday November 25, we went to this place we were seated by a very nice host. We sat down the waitress ignored us, another couple came in she went straight to them and took their drink order, walked by us. Another couple came in and a single gentleman and she went to serve them totally ignoring us. We left! Never going to this place again.

Staff appeared to be new and inexperienced. They were trying their best I am sure. The food was OK but some things like the roasted potatoes were salty. Order took quite long to come. Even a simple request like salt and pepper took 5 minutes.

The waitress that served us was so friendly & fun and was very patient with us while we decided on our food and then changed our mind halfway through our orders. I also wasn't expecting to be served an entire pot of coffee, or even for the coffee to be as good as it was! The food was fantastic and the presentation was stellar. Highly recommended!

Surprised my spouse with paint night last night (Arrived in a wheel chair) and she was astatic with the friendly and helpful staff throughout the night. While she was socializing and having a blast, I relaxed in the mezzanine enjoying a few brews and appreciating the staff who made their guests feel welcome. In addition, the serving staff and bartender were awesome. I felt very welcome with the atmosphere and just had to go back the next day for supper. Once again, my spouse and I were treated like VIP’s. The soup was very healthy and tasty. Main course included: Shrimp Fettuccine, Pork Slovaki with fresh veggies, Greek baked potatoes, on a bed of rice. The seasoning was delicious and the pork was tender (On a screwer that was grilled). The Greek Salad was awesome (I even purchased the Greek Salad Dressing upon leaving). Prices are very reasonable. The menu also offers a full menu (Not just Greek food). The deserts are to die for. What impressed me the most is that the owner of this hidden beauty walked around chatting with patrons (She has a passion for excellent customer service, attention to detail, and a true professional). Upon entering the establishment, a permit from the public health inspector has (Placed an “A”) which indicates superior attention to quality safe requirements for the food industry. Paint night is every Wednesday. I’m rating this establishment a 10 out of 10. Bravo Naxos. Keep up the family tradition. I am “DOC”. Cheers.

I live in Toronto and have just arrived in Thunder Bay for an overnight stay. This place is the first place in which I've eaten during this trip in which the proprietor and staff are super-professional and diligent concerning COVID protocols. On top of that, they have remarkable people skills. The food was quite good, but it could never match the hospitality and overall kindness. I'll be back.

The worst restaurant ever in Thunder Bay. It was my fault that I didn't know that this is a Greek restaurant, but everything here was too sour. If you do like sour food, you will definitely enjoy it though. Especially the potato was way too sour. Moreover, I have never had such a sour soup. Meat was all dried and hard to bite, with simple taste. The price was too high. I have never regretted such awfully after eating out. Anyways will never visit here anymore.

Eating from here is an amazing culinary experience. The meal I ordered, Penny's salmon and rice pilaf was an exquisite dining experience. The presentation was simple yet perfect. The meal far exceeded my expectations for Thunder Bay. I've never had as wonderful a baklava as this. It's in your best interest to eat here.

I came here on a whim with my husband and I have zero regrets. The photos in the menu really don't do the food justice, as it was absolutely delicious. Naxos has great food and amazing staff. Everyone is so nice. I was there just the other day and one server(not ours) especially stood out. She talked with us, asked if we needed anything and even ran the the washroom to sanitize the change station for my baby before i took her in there.

The experience from begining to end was amazing. At first I was stuck up and mad that a $21 salad is sitting in my car and now im here but jeez did the food tell me! Usually the food is good, but got served rancid bacon today. Sent it back and got a 2nd serving of rancid bacon , was NOT impressed. Still tipped the server since it wasn't his fault but don't think I'll be going back.

The table felt like there was sticky sand on it and the side plates were dirty. The food reminded me of 1989. It is always sad in a restaurant when your salad dressing comes on the side in a plastic container. My “home made” bread was old and very cold so I’m assuming it came out of the freezer. Other people at the table asked for dessert menus which never came. I will never, ever eat here again.
