Such a quaint place, the food is amazing! The owners seem so down to earth and the passionate about what they do. The décor is super colorful and quirky, its like stepping into a hug/time warp. Even the playlist seems carefully curated to fit this atmosphere. I had the favorite son in law and it was unreal! I will definitely be back again & again & again.

Unbelievable... I drove past this place for years before finally stopping in - HOW DID I NOT KNOW!? Cute, casual, fantastic service, adorable theme decor - and then, the food. THE FOOD! Oh my goodness. I had the banana bread French toast topped with white chocolate ricotta, fresh bananas and cashews. It was even better than it sounds. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes... I'm hooked.

Simple Sausage and eggs was delicious! Even though they don’t do basted eggs the over easy were spot on. Amazing thick cut toast, actual sausage link, and perfect home fries. The actual star of the show might be their tangy Scotch Bonnet Hot Sauce. This place oozes ‘homemade’ and can’t wait to come back and try other items. Only thing not on the menu that I was hoping for is Eggs Benedict…;)

Was a very strange experience The menu was very limited with not a lot of option No sides of pancakes or French toast or all of what you think a Diner would offer - the decor was cool but definitely didn't match the menu The food was good well the eggs and homesfries and bread which is fresh baked was very good however the sausage didn't make any sense it was a sweet I think honey garlic very disappointed with that not sure why not just go with a nice farmers sausage or just regular breakfast sausage Overall the experience was just okay probably not return

I bring gals who haven't been there and it is constantly a surprise and excitement and that's before seeing the menu! It is a bright, cheerful place with interesting tables, chairs, and cookware we all love pointing out. The staff is friendly, polite, know and easily respond to questions asked about the menu. I usually get the specials because they are delicious and I wouldn't want to miss out! The menu has such a variety of fresh, local, and interesting dishes that once you enjoyed your food, you'll be on your way again with some folks you will want to share this hidden gem. Oh! The prices are so reasonable. First come first served!

Fantastic gem! Get out of the tourist craze in Niagara Falls and pop in here for breakfast. (Before 10:55 when they switch to lunch) I had the "Green Eggs and Ham" and was not disappointed by my decision. It was FANTASTIC! They have a great creative menu made with fresh ingredients. The Honey garlic sausage and the fresh baked bread are a treat and a step above the rest! I wish I could go back and work my way through the menu! The locals are lucky to have this place. (Not to mention the adorable decor!) Stop in, you won't be disappointed!

This was my find of the day. This is not your typical breakfast place. Simply amazing. My wife had the nutella French toast and I had the Bbq egg sandwich. The sandwich was delicious. Fresh soft bagel bun with home made bbq sauce, egg and bacon. So good lots of flavors that work well very well with each other. But to top it of...roasted potatoes....they were so good. As for the staff and service, friendly and made us feel welcome. Everyone knew we were visiting but they made us feel so welcomed. It's going to be a go to stop for me when I'm in the Niagara region for sure!!

After I found this place a month ago, I can not stop thinking about it and want to try everything! They have special everyday which you will never get tired of their food! However, they change their menu every three/four months, so some of my fav items are not available anymore, but I believe there will be more delicious things coming soon!!! Of course, stuff here are super nice as well! Just love it!

My only complaint is that The Diner House 29, is too much like being home at my mothers house. I don't mean just the decor, which is exactly like my mothers, but the food. I go out for breakfast for the meal that I won't make myself at home; you know, lots of grease and salt. Everything on the menu is cooked to perfection without excess grease and salt. I appreciate the locally sourced fresh ingredients, and the in-house specialty items that are prepared daily. The food is on par with the finest chiefs creations from any restaurant. Not a greasy spoon; too bad.

Enjoyable atmosphere. Felt like a blast to my past with the 70s theme. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The menu was amazing. So many options of very unique meals.. I had a hard time picking because i wanted to try everything. I had the Mushroom Omlette. It was delicious and very filling. My daughter had the special which was pork on toast with eggs and she cleared her plate. We will definitely be back

Honestly the best breakfast I have had in a long time. The decor is what appears to be from the 50's. The staff are very friendly and service was quick. It was very clean and tidy. The overall quality of the food itself was just amazing. I give this place a 9.6 out of 10. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fresh and filling breakfast.

My first impression of this restaurant was that it was a very cool layout, they have a bunch of vintage style diner tables where not one chair matches, but it's very fun and cheery. Then we get to the food. Let me tell you.... Wow. I love food, have been to many restaurants serving breakfast in this area, if not all, and I have to say when you consider value and quality..... There is no even comparison, Honestly.... Not even close. Home made bread that is absolutely amazing, the dishes are all beautifully plated, and taste absolutely amazing. Our last visit put me over the top so much I had no choice but to leave this glowing review. I ate a turkey sausage bagel with a fruit blend and Brie cheese on it. I can't remember what they called it.. But it was so incredibly good, one could even say scandalously delicious. Make sure that when you go you look out for the specials, they are always very unique and have showcased their skills the most. If I could rate it more than 5 stars I definitely would. This is a regular stop now for my wife and I.

I came her with a friend based on the Yelp review. The decor is a mix of old 50s diner and hipster. Very cute. It's a family owned restaurant, with amazing, friendly service. My friend and I were trying to find something to do that day (we aren't from the area) and the waitresses gave us some suggestions. The food was spectacular. I had the daily special. I can't wait to come back!

Went yesterday for breakfast ???? Hubby had the Plain Jane & I had the deep dish pancake. It was awesome! I couldn't believe the portion size! The pancake is definitely meant to share because it's huge! I loved the fruit & lemon on the pancake. I have to try the French toast next time! I love the patio setup ???? picnic tables are awesome, love the fact they are different colours! We will definitely be coming back!

Whenever we are in the area we make sure we plan to stop by for breakfast or lunch at Diner House 29. We’ve never been disappointed and we’re always excited to see what’s new on the menu. This is not your typical breakfast diner. Everything is made from scratch and the combinations are creative, unique and superb. From lamb to deep fried poached eggs to bacon jam. The decor and atmosphere is lively and fun. When we took our kids they asked if Dave (the chef) could move in with us. We can’t wait to return!

The last thing this place needs is another 5 star review—but I just had lunch there again today, and it continues to impress. Lucie’s Fave Son-in-Law (it’s a dish) was superb. Includes deep fried poached eggs—they sound scary but are soft and wonderful. Stole tastes of my friend’s Caesar salad and turkey meatloaf—yum! And yes, as others have said, the staff is unfailingly friendly and helpful. Nothing quite like a place run by its owners. You can feel their love.

After the Covid hiatus, Diner House 29 is back with the same great, quirky, delicious food that has made it the best breakfast/brunch restaurant in Niagara for years. It was wonderful to be able to return to the comfortable, 50's-themed eatery -- there is also an outside patio -- and see that it has taken up where it left off. Have you heard of deep-fried poached eggs? Neither had I, but they were perfect with my tasty pork bowl loaded with buttery potatoes, chili cream cheese and crunchy red peppers. Jan had the equally delicious (and, I concede, probably healthier) garden bowl with (regular) poached eggs, perfectly roasted veggies and ricotta/chili beans on toast. Welcome back, DH29!

I can't say enough about the deliciousness and creativity of the dishes here! Worth any wait. They don't take reservations which I think is awesome. As a couple, we love to treat our selves here - my wife is always very happy with the plain Jane but I make a point of trying something different every time we go. I have never been disappointed - the decor is authentic and tastefully taken from another era and if I was a wealthy man - I would eat breakfast here everyday. I sorta wish it stayed a secret but that would not be fair to the amazing staff and cooks- they deserve special recognition! Please never go away #29!

I moved to St Catharines in February from Toronto and since discovering Diner House 29 I feel like I’m back in the city. I’ve been approx once a month and recommend it to everyone I know. The vibe is good, staff is friendly and the food is some of the best and most innovative brunch cuisine I’ve had. I really appreciate the quality of the ingredients, the unique flavour combinations and changing daily specials. This is truly a gem in St.Catharines. Anyone rating this place less than a 5 star doesn’t have taste buds. Hats off the the chef!

My favourite breakfast place (probably anywhere!). The '29' in the name refers to the number of retro chairs the owner was able to wrestle up over many excursions throughout Ontario over a number of years (they look like the chairs from the 60s or 70s). So the place is small ( no restroom!). But the food....mmmm. I've attached a pic of a recent breakfast featuring pork belly, beautifully poached eggs all on their amazing homemade bread with a side of delicious mini potatoes! So good!

Wow wow wow. This place is a treasure, a hidden gem on the outskirts of Niagara adjacent to a gas station - yes, a gas station, and it doesn't look like much from the outside at all. The only thing that gives a hint is the little sign that says "Come on in, we're awesome!" Walk in and you'll find yourself in the cutest retro diner that's colorful and cozy and smells like good cooking.

I did not expect much from this place at first. Got the recommendation to get takeout here, and decided to try it out. This place delivers above and beyond what you would expect when you first hear about it. They have the most flavorful food. You can literally taste the love that went into making it. I could go on forever about this place! I'm so glad we found it. First, the decor is super vintage, unique, fun for all ages and well done. It's always clean and nicely maintained. The service has always been perfect. They are prompt, knowledgable, interesting to make conversation with and very friendly. The food is GREAT. The menu is not huge (which is good!), SO creative and they change it up sometimes so if you're a regular you never get bored. They also have daily specials every time I've been there to offer even more selection-- not to mention TWO homemade soups every day. They use really fresh ingredients, make their own bread (and I'm sure lots of other things too-- it all seems homemade) and it seems like if they don't make it themselves, they get it from someone local who makes it. I love this place so much I went two days in a row last week. They are TOTALLY doing it right from the food to the service. You HAVE to try this place!!

The atmosphere here was warm and inviting - like Gramma's kitchen! The food was different from your typical breakfast fare and really delicious. Price is a bit higher, but you get what you pay for, and the staff was lovely. Will definitely be going here again.
