Delicious, quick, cheap, and cheery. That's about the whole of it. Their vast breakfast selection is incredibly tasty and well done from crepes to oatmeal to eggs benny and more. There is always an army of staff waiting to serve you. Prices are fantastic (especially if you are a student - 10% off), and the interior is painted lime green - how fun! Definitely can't go wrong going here for breakfast. The two reasons I withheld a star from the rating are 1) it is very noisy, so if you want to chat (or have people hard of hearing in your group) it can be tricky, and 2) they have very few options for dietary restrictions and do not take allergies seriously.

Just got breakfast from here for the first time and I'm sadly disappointed. We were missing half out meals. Got the French toast but no fruit. My son loves bacon and his meal was missing his bacon. We all got some kind of bread with out breakfast but not a piece for cutlery, not a napkin, nor syrup or butter. Needless to say the meals got wasted

Nice place, maybe a little dated, but nice. Great value, the portions are ample and the prices are good. I had the Early Bird Special - 2 eggs, toast, sausage, bacon, and ham - and it was quite good. My wife had the eggs Benedict, which were also very good. Good place to stop for breakfast!

Good size portions, reasonably priced, and friendly service. It's an older diner so don't expect a modern decor. Had the 2 egg breakfast with ham. I was surprised when I asked for onions on the home fries and was told it would be $1.50 charge. Seems a bit much for onions when the whole breakfast is priced at $6.99. The food came out quickly, and everything was hot. Didn't like the coffee very much, but everything else was good. Definitely come by for breakfast!

Dont judge a book by its cover. From the outside we wondered if we should drive on... Glad we didn't. Small, local, friendly staff and good food. They even have gluten free bread and decaf coffee. A lick of paint and some new decor would make this place a 5/5

Nice local restaurant, stopped in for breakfast around 9 am and the service was friendly and responsive even as it began to fill up rather quickly. The meals were hot and fresh and had a home cooked taste you don't get at too many places. Prices were super reasonable, would very much stop in again.

A fun little place to eat. The fish and chips were awesome but the breakfast was mediocre. The hash browns must have been on the grill for a while since half were dried up bits. Very nice server

Do NOT come early to this restaurant, I asked for well cooked scrambled eggs (easiest eggs to make) and they came out runny, and they were covered in grease (not from the eggs that's for sure) the bacon was horrible only half of it was cooked and the hash browns were overloaded with seasoning The coffee had coffee beans in it and the toast had black Mark's on it Worst breakfast I have ever had from here. Normally they are great

Never been in to the restaurant itself however I do order with SkiptheDishes with my boyfriend on occasion for breakfast and the food is always top notch! The menu is affordable. My favourite is the chicken and waffles - great deal, always cooked amazingly. I would recommend this place time and time again for breakfast!

Ate at the Early Bird for the first time on April 20th/19 with my Daughter. Can't say enough good things about it. From Brittany our server to the food that we ordered. The quantity was plentiful and the price was very reasonable. The pictures in the menu and the number of items to choose from, made it very difficult to decide what to have. I don't think you could go wrong on anything that you would choose. I will definitely be back many times over.

First when we got there the table was not that cleaned. There was tissues under my table and two of the employees saw me picking up and non of them came to ask to take it over. The food took me 23 min to have it ready and that after calling them that I have my order for more than 20 min. Sorry was a bad experience and would never return.

I was extremely surprised and satisfied at The Early Bird! It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but inside was warm and inviting. The food was tasty, the servers were kind, and everything was very clean. All in all a fantastic experience!

We went a few weeks ago on the weekend, place was full and i see why, amazing food everything looked so good. i have the western omlit, it was perfect. My gf didn't care much for the waffles but i think its cause it had chocolate, whipped cream and to much other things o nit... not overly good for breakfast. We shall be back soon again!

I used to really love the Early Bird. The food was good and inexpensive. I'm still a fan of the ambiance (a table top that features giant fruits? I'm in). I'm still good with the wait staff (our server was the right amount of attentive and I appreciated her). I'm just sad about the food. I had a hard pancake that seemed like it was left waiting for someone to love it several hours prior to my visit. My eggs tasted as if they'd been cooked in hydraulic fluid. It was disappointing and gross. So those stars are for ambiance and service. Sadly, the food was pretty inedible. :(

Love the new menu. So many options to choose from, whether it’s sweet or salty they have it all. Always greeted by a friendly staff member and the service is great. Food comes out quickly as well. It’s always prepared to my liking. This restaurant is a popular place, as it is always busy and there seems to be familiar faces in there all of the time. I always recommend this place to others. Try it out for yourself, you won’t be disappointed!

Food was literally cold coming out. Eggs felt like they had been refrigerated they were that cold. They dont know how to cook eggs over medium. Hashbrow portion was pathetic. The bathrooms are nasty. The price is way too high for the quality and portion. Ive been to the early bird several times years ago and it used to be good food at a good price and that's all you ever need. Sorry guys but you went completely down hill and I highly suggest getting a new cook because what he puts out I wouldn't even feed to my dog.

The inside is bright and colorful which invites you right in. Once you get inside the atmosphere is like a small town diner. Very cozy inside with many smiles. The menu is vast with many options for any taste. Prices are great for the amount of food you get. Wait staff is diligent and friendly.

Best breakfast restaurant I have been to in my life. Massive portion sizes for a small cost. Friendly service was also included, as well as a student discount when paying with cash! They also offer a great tasting gluten free bread option. I would recommend to anyone I meet to visit this one of a kind establishment!

Visited for the first time last visit to St. Catharines. Food was great. Place was very busy on a Sunday morning, so caused a slight slowness with our food. May have also been caused by the fact we didn't just order the typical breakfast, a chicken lunch dish. All in all it was a pleasant experience. The food experience was not a disappointment, as the menu was pretty complete. From the outside of the building the restaurant isn't anything great to look at, and the interior is painted with some bright colors. Washrooms were dated. Don't let the looks turn you off, this is a great breakfast location and prices were decent. __________ Update: Have been back many times since the first visit and have yet to have a bad experience or issues with the food. A great breakfast spot.

I ordered from Early Bird threw skip the dishes and was extremely unimpressed. Not only was I missing 3 things that I had ordered but my eggs were extremely undercooked to the point of not being able to eat them after waiting over an hour for them to even make the food. I called and the lady asked me what I want her to do about it... she told me she would message her boss and get back to me. Took my name and phone number and haven't heard a thing since. Clearly does not care about their customers experience.

First time at the Early Bird, attended with many of my staff (approx 30 people). We were able to make reservations and preorder our food. Good service especially considering the size of our group. Inside could use some updating but my food was delicious.

Great food and service. Ugly little place, but don't judge a book by its cover. Most good local restaurants focus more on food and service than on updating their decor. Food was served fast and their coffee is very good too. No disappointments with this place.

This place was awesome. We went for honeymoon in Niagara Falls and hit this place on the way home. It’s a little bit of a drive, but entirely worthwhile. 6.99 bought breakfast. They had a fresh fruit bowl for a small price and the fruit was actually fresh and not frozen. And no Niagara tourist tax! If I’m ever in the neighborhood I’ll be sure to return!

The food here is pretty basic breakfast food and sometimes they give you a little more or a little less than your ordered when it's busy but if you're looking for the classic breakfast place for those hungover Sunday mornings or weekdays with the grandparents before work this is the spot to go.

Came here a few days ago because my girlfriends brother works here, oh MAN. Got the steak and egg skillet because alot of places dont offer breakfast skillets and i was not disappointed one bit. Id order an extra egg or too next time just because my hunger is insatiable but as the terminator would say... ill be back.????????

I've actually only eaten breakfast here and always good, big portions and not expensive and opens early. Seen some reviews saying breakfast was bad and expensive, not sure where your eating to call this place expensive.. Give it a try for sure.

Lovely little place to go for breakfast. Our server was friendly and professional, and the food was delicious. I can highly recommend the berry crepes! The unique decor is bright and cheerful, and adds to the experience of dining there. It is a very child-friendly restaurant as well, with crayons and colouring books being provided to little diners!

Tried this place 3 times now for breakfast and every time was a letdown. Eggs were alright, coffee tasted like it had been sitting in the pot a long time. The homefries were not cooked enough. Place looked dirty when I was there. Was expensive too. Only had eggs, no meat and it was $9.00!!!

Usually, this place is awesome. Today, however, i had an extremely rude waitress wearing a birthday hat who rolled her eyes about everything including a high chair for my nephew. I didnt dare ask her for more coffee or anything else... Maybe next year she should just schedule her birthday off?

A good breakfast place with lots of variety! It was very busy when we went on a Sunday morning. Expect to wait a little. There's really no place to stand though and it gets crowded quickly. We also had to park on street as parking lot was full. Staff was attentive refilling our drinks. I ordered egg's Benedict with bacon but the bacon was under the eggs which was different. The English muffin could have been toasted longer. I was also asked if I wanted my eggs soft medium or hard. Which being pregnant I appreciated the options. Overall I'd go back. The menu was large with lots of options.

My buddy and I are fully vaccinated and went to go in for breakfast. We had our vaccine verification and before she even looked at it, the waitress asked for our ID's. My friend didn't have a physical ID on him but he had a picture of his passport. The waitress just laughed and turned us away from an empty restaurant. Not going there again. So much for supporting small business

Poor service. Ordered Italian sausage and server brought the normal sausage. 20 minutes later when we finished eating she brought the correct one, we declined as we had to leave. We still ended up paying for sausage though it was our waitresses fault. The manager had no decision making skills and would not discount the bill further. Will never return and wont recommend

This is our favourite breakfast spot (and we drive 25 minutes from home to go) - food is always excellent, bacon is plentiful + perfectly cooked and we have yet to have a complaint about our meals. I always get the basic breakfast (eggs, toast, hash browns, bacon), husband gets pancakes, omelet or French toast. Parking can sometimes be tricky - as it is usually busy (but you can park down the road) and the building looks a bit rundown from the outside. It's usually full of loud college students during breakfast, but it's worth it for good bacon. Staff are friendly and work quickly to clear tables and seat you. We probably pass 10+ other breakfast restaurants on the way- but this is honestly the best diner style breakfast in the niagara region.

We stopped in on our way through town. First glimpse outside, we weren't too sure. I went I side to see how long the wait would be. I took one look at the tables that were already being served and decided it was going to be worth the wait. I was right, excellent service, great food as well as a very funny costumer who had me giggling the entire time. We will be back again!

Meh. Typical breakfast joint. Nothing really special. I mean, service is friendly. Space is big and clean. Food is average. I ordered the Going All In, with eggs, sausage, homefries, toast and French toast. Homefries were pretty good. Sausages were standard. The scrambled eggs were weird: half cooked, half not cooked. The French toast was dry and flavourless.

This is a great place to eat!!! I highly recommend anyone visiting Thorold, Niagara Falls or any surrounding areas to come here for breakfast, lunch, brunch or all 3. The coffee is fantastic, the fruits and veggies are fresh, crisp and colourful and the staff are some of the nicest people on the breakfast scene. Most places start getting grumpy waitresses by lunch but I came by at 1 to have an item I ordered through skipthedishes (trashiest delivery company that undortunatley holds a monopoly over most restaurants in the area.) They offered to replace the order if I came to get it and were just great about it. The dining area looked immaculate despite being in a constant state of breakfast rush. Its like Big City diner meets small town wholesome goodness. Check it Out!!! Xoxo

This is a wonderful breakfast place! Excellent quality, generous servings, friendly staff. Try the Very Berry Crepe with a side of Peameal Bacon. There will be no need for lunch. The omelets we tried were also excellent. We are from Minnesota, and we will come here every time we visit our St Catharines relatives. It's that good!

don't order take out unless you like being disappointed. forgot part of the order, no condiments for the food that did make it into the bag, no cutlery or even a single napkin. dine in is maybe better but I'm not taking the chance.

First time I've been here in years and it'll definitely be a regular favourite again. The early riser special cannot be beat, for obvious reasons ($4.49, oh yes). Their sausages were a little fatter than I've had elsewhere, it was a nice little surprise!

Wow! If I could have given them a 6 I would have! Great food and generous portions, lots of choice. Gluten free bread option, vegetarian and lower cal choices. Fresh fruit is fresh with good variety. Staff is friendly and helpful, also they were very well staffed. Good family and everybody atmosphere!
