If I could give it zero stars I would... We want the old CJ's back!!! The renovations may look appealing but the new chairs are horribly uncomfortable. The wings and pizza are garbage now, the beer from the taps are flat, and even the bottles that were sprayed by skunks are being served. They have 4 menus for the entire restaurant, no audio for the sports games? Lastly, by far the worst service in the Niagara Region!

Suicide wings weren't really spicy at all, in the slightest. 2 orders on the table and no one found them spicy. Tequila shots tasted off but acquaintances at the table went about asking for replacements the wrong way so the barstaff and manager didn't like our table from the start, so I didn't bother complaining about the wings.

I think the server was new, so he was inexperienced. No bowl for eaten wings and not as attentive as usual servers as far as drinks go. Waited quite a while for his return to check in to see if we needed anything. Pizza was not well done as requested, so a little disappointed this visit.

I found this place through Google maps exploring St. Catherine's resaurants. Me & another guy are working in St. Catherine's for 2 days & needed to go out to eat. Nice little bar with good food. I had a California club with fries which was good, but needed more fries to go with the great sandwich. A nicely made chicken breast on a kaiser with kale & some different kind of sauce that I foget the name of. I found myself still hungry after the meal, which does not make me happy for $20.75 after taxes with just a coffee added. An abundance of Tv's with sports on. Friendly waitress that made sure everything was ok. Overall it was ok but nothing special to warrant a higher rating.

My fiance and I moved in right down the street from Cracker Jack's and have always heard great things about it so we decided to give it a try. The food quality was definitely the worst I have ever seen. The food was extremely cold, and the wings tasted and felt like they were left out for a few hours before they were served to us and had absolutely no flavor to them. The restaurant was extremely difficult to call and tell them about how are food was so we weren't able to do anything. I ordered spaghetti with meatballs but go the sausage one instead which I couldn't eat

The BEST poutine in Niagara!! I’ve been searching for a while now to find a great poutine in the area and I’ve finally found one here. Most places miss the mark with the gravy, but everything is perfect about this one. Crispy fries, delicious gravy, generous amount of cheese curds, served on a hot skillet. Excellent service and plenty of patio space. The fried ravioli was tasty but the poutine was the star. Will be back again soon.

The rennovations are Cracker Jacks are abosultely awesome! From the new menu I've tried the meat pops! Yes, please! Really nice appetizer! The meatlovers pizza is a Carnivore's dream! The wings are nice sized, cooled well and the sauce I had was smooth. The burger was juicy and needed squeezing to fit in even my big mouth. I tried a mac and cheese dish with a chicken breast done like chicken wing style. This was nice and creamy. But the star of the show for me was the Buffalo Chicken Poutine! Wow! Just wow! If I ever have poutine, I will order it plain. But this poutine was flavour combinations right up my alley! The gravy is on point, cheese ratio was right and the Buffalo Chicken was flavoured well. But what tied it all together for me was the mild blue cheese and blue cheese sauce. Wow! This was a good one!

Went there today and waited 15 minutes for a menu. Then when we tried to order the server said she had another order in her head and walked away rudely. After taking a further 10 minutes to round back she took our order. We ordered wings. NEVER order wings after 8. They cook them in batches every hour and over cook them since the fryers won't handle that many at a time to cook properly. We waited 40 minutes till we asked what was taking so long, that's when she told us we were welcome to leave so she could sit someone else there. The wings came out 15 minutes later and there were no apologies or explanation until we asked. The food was just as bad as the service. I hate to say it but we felt very unwelcome and believe it is because of our skin colour. If you are colored and have any self respect then DO NOT go there. If you want good food and service DO NOT go there. If you like having to wait for garbage food and bad service then go right ahead...

Let alone the servers back to her tables? Got our food and waited for cutlery, then we asked for ketchup the server rolled her eyes at us. Would of ordered another cocktail but after waiting with empty drinks, watching her sitting at a table beside us, we decided to pay. New staff doesn’t seem to care about their customers. Thankfully there is still old staff still around. We will come back but call ahead and see who is working and request that section.

Place is recently renovated and looks great. My husband and I have been coming here for years. Food was always great but they have really stepped it up since the renovation. Cracker Jack’s is always packed on the weekend and is a great place to go if planning a birthday party. I have been to several birthday parties there. Servers are very polite and take the time to get to know the regular patrons. Great local restaurant/bar!

So we were a larger group, which can be confusing. Our server took our orders and brought our drinks. The problem occurred when we didn't receive our starter salads until after our entrees arrived. Then after we were done, our server had already left and the GM took 45 minutes to bring all of us our bills, and still messed them up. The server was good, food was ok, but the GM was awful.

Server (I think) waited out the clock to tell me the kitchen was closed. Asked if I wanted another beer and then took away my glass to bring my other one before I had even finished it. Went through a downtown routine of weighing all the bottles (it's Thorold FYI). It might have gotten a bright facelift with the new owners but it seems to have gotten a number of other downgrades to customer service and its operating model. Still a good place to go but needs improvement.

Warning: this is a review for before the ownership change. The restaurant sold the day we were there, so there’s no telling what will happen. For us, this was the perfect neighborhood spot that serves up consistent, quality food with the nicest staff. It’s nothing to look at and the interior could use some love, but you can watch the game and have a nice chat with the staff. The owner came by to check on us each visit. You just don’t get that often. Basic menu of local favorites. Banging wings for sure. Skip the garlic bread.

First time dining in, have had take out before. Nice interior, clean, nice colours, lots of tv screens if you want to watch sports, but not loud, which I liked. Service was super fast and efficient, food was great! I had the Cracker Jack Burger with onion rings and it was all great. Others I dined with had white pizza, chicken fingers and steak & cheese sandwich, all was nicely presented and tasty (Fries weren't the best...glad I got onion rings, but I did share them ????). Saw some other tables with very tall drink dispensers, 3' tall or so, looked good, but I didn't try. Thanks for making our evening enjoyable!

So we found this place completely by accident. Google suggested it and I am so impressed with this restaurant it is hard to seem impartial. We went for lunch on New Year’s Day and although it was a holiday there were quite a few other patrons enjoying food and drinks. The restaurant itself is well laid out and at first glance appears to be super clean. Closer inspection of the restaurant shows that it is indeed super clean. The service was amazing, the food was excellent. I had the Cracker Jack burger, which I highly recommend to anyone that likes burgers. The patty was cooked perfectly and the toppings were very fresh. My date had the South of the Border Chicken Burger and I am told it was an excellent chicken patty and the sauce to burger ratio was perfect. The fries were very crispy yet soft on the inside. All in all we maybe waited 15 minutes for our food to come out. The cleanliness of the restaurant, the service and the food gain this restaurant a 4 star rating easily. The fifth star is for the price. I was very surprised how affordable the food was. I would recommend this place to anyone who asks. I will definitely be returning to try the other menu items they offer.

Had to come back and edit my rating. After the renovations, prices have skyrocketed and the food quality is gone. The wings uses to be huge, with lots of meat on them. Now, they are mediocre sized, and I was in stomach pain for a day after eating them. Team pitchers used to be 25 with a tip, now you're looking at 29ish (price seems to change pretty frequently) PLUS tip. This place used to have such a family feel, unfortunately not anymore.

Ordered the family fish meal (6 pieces of fish, fries & coleslaw). Order was ready for the time I requested, nice & hot. Fish pieces are huge! Fries portion wasn't as much as I would expect for a "family portion". The coleslaw was a single serving cup, again, not what we would expect for a family meal, as only one person is able to have any. We have fish left over to warm in the oven for lunch tomorrow, would have been nice if the fries portion was comparable so we could have those with our fish.... Overall, a very good experience, I would recommend them, and the service (when ordering by phone & when picking up) was very friendly.

The first time I called, the bar was obviously busy and it was loud in the background on their end so the person who answered the phone couldn't hear me as I was yelling hello into my phone repeatedly and then she just hung up on me. Today I decided to try again and call to place an order for take out and was put on hold for a little over 10 minutes so I just hung up.

Well I was there tonight entered the bar at 8:00 ...8:25 no one had come see me to offer me a drink or menu ....so I got up went to see the manager told him what had happened. The answer I got was were implementing a new system ...well obviously it wasn't working. I'm a regular customer there have our meetings there and always bring family and friends ...but honestly tonight was a let down. I still love the food there and yes I will be going back but they really need to get their act together when it comes to customer service and not have patrons wait 25 minutes and still not get served. So in reply to Joshs' comment below about the bar service being slow and being very rude I guess I'm not alone to think it. We can't all be wrong . I hope the new system works soon !!!!

This is the first opportunity I've had to revisit the restaurant since its renovation. That was meh. Under seasoned an underwhelming. I think the best thing we had was the spinach dip. wait staff was friendly and while we had two of them watching our table there were many points where we had to look around for someone. Missing dressings, missing cutlery wrong toppings. A handful of misteps made for a disappointing visit. Should have stuck with my original plan and got chicken wings.

I enjoyed their burger and loved the spinach dip! The spinach dip is a must try and serves for 2 people very well. We visit the place quiet often as it's close to where we live and the food overall is good. The other day I tried the twisted Mac & cheese but wasn't very fond of it as I felt that the red peppers in it wasn't going well with the pasta. The wings are good but I feel like they are a little to the drier side than juicier even with the sauce on it. I also liked their sweet potato fries but the chipotle dip with it I don't like as I have tasted better at other places. My bf liked the steak, it was well cooked and juicy. The white pizza was very good as well. I also love love their garden salad!

First time ordering from Cracker Jack's tonight and OMG everything was AMAZING! We ordered the Nashville fried chicken sandwich and it is literally the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. Just enough heat to make you sweat a bit, but not so overpowering that you can't taste anything else. The service was top notch. Brandon was super polite, friendly and seemed to genuinely appreciate our business. We will definitely be back! (Please don't ever get rid of this sandwhich)

Was in last night for a birthday party, 6 of us in total. Our server was Kelly Y, she was very friendly but maybe overwhelmed with her 4 tables. Problem started when our pints of Belgian Moon were flat. The manager came over and took care of the drinks. Our food came out and most of the food items were either wrong or completely missed. An order of fries that was never brought was still added to the bill at the end of the night! Our server never came to do a table check for the food, which could have avoided all our missing items. When she finally came back to our table, a few of us ordered more drinks, one member of our party in particular asked for a cesar. She came back 10 minutes later with everyones drinks but the Cesar; it didn’t arrive until 20 minutes after. It took over 25 minutes us to get our bills. I had to go over and speak to the manager who was watching the Leafs game with a table. His response for when I asked for the bills was “oh yah, I need to go and discount those drinks for the table, thats what took so long”; and proceeded to watch the game and not grab our bills. The restaurant was not busy, so I am unsure as to why we had such poor service. Being a general manger for a restaurant myself, the standards of service were very poor. Until something changes, I will not be recommending Cracker Jacks to any of my friends.

My husband and I were there on Friday October 16th at 630pm. Our waitress I believe her name was Mel was fantastic,she came over 3 times to make sure everything was ok. I had the burger of the month and WOW was it ever good. I haven't had something that good in a long time and we eat out once a week. My husband had the Thorold steak sandwich and he loved it. Was in the area and decided to stop in and relive some University memories. Cracker Jacks did not disappoint! Such a great mix between college chic and friendly, neighborhood pub. The food was awesome, but the best part was the service. Cailin was incredible! She has a great sense of humor, exceptional service, and shining personality, making the evening most enjoyable. I don't normally leave reviews, but the manager told me this was the best way to ensure she got the best shifts (where tips are higher than 3 bucks), gets to be manager for a day, and is able to eat one piece of food from every plate she delivered, no questions asked! Regardless of how true that might be, her quick smile and great service, combined with the awesome food and ambience will keep us coming back!

I've gone to Cracker Jack's a fair amount in the past few months and must say that it's an awesome little pub, tucked away between thorold and st. Kits. They have breakfast which is awesome they have these delicious home fries that are only served for breakfast which are worth coming in to try. But my favourite thing is that on Wednesday they have a deal on nacho fries, tacos and buckets of Carona. The service is awesome, I usually get J.J as my server and she's awesome she knows the menu like the back of her hand and will provide you with a good opinion and suggestions. Food: 8/10 Service: 10/10 Price: worth it on most menu items. So 80% worth it.

I’ve been going to Cracker Jacks for a long time because of the great food and amazing service but my last 3 visits have been absolutely awful. Today (Saturday Feb 2) I sat on the dining side for 30 minutes without anyone even coming to ask if I wanted a drink before I walked out. Surprisingly this isn’t even the first time in the last 2 weeks that this has happened. Last time we waited 20 minutes until someone took our drink orders then took another 15 minutes to get them. I figured new management and the renovation would be a good thing but ever since the renovation is when I noticed the quality of service take a substantial nose dive.

There is better food out there, but for overall experience at an affordable price, if you just want a place to drink and eat and watch the game, I'd recommend this. Special shout out to Jen. I have ordered from here a few times with my friends and the food is amazing, and they always follow delivery instructions! The buffalo chicken they make for the cob salad and poutine is to die for, as is the spinach dip. This is the best hidden gem in Thorold and I can't wait to be able to dine in once things open up again.
