A small, intimate dining experience with a relaxing atmosphere and superb food. The cost of the food may be higher than most local venues but the quality and portion size is very much reflective of the price and so the value is still very high. Our experience at Tommy’s Not Here went from excellent to awful very quickly. I want to give the kitchen 10 stars because our meal was absolutely incredible. Everything was cooked to perfection, full of flavour, and overall great. However, I want to give the service no stars. Our server (whose name I unfortunately can’t remember) was arrogant from the start. He wasn’t very respectful and though he was relatively (I’m being generous) attentive, we quickly came to see just how arrogant he was. Quick backstory; we are two university students who don’t have a ton of money. We were given a gift card by my now mother in law to celebrate our 6 month anniversary because there was no way we could afford a place like that without it. She gave us the gift card that was given to her as a gift so we wanted to be reasonable with how much of it we spent. Our bill came up to $125 and my fiancé gave a $10 tip so that we could at least give the remainder of the gift certificate back to his mother to contribute to a bill for her in the future. We paid the bill, he took the gift certificate to the till to process it, but then came back to our table and had the nerve to say “I just wanted to make sure you got your math right. This is a $125 bill and you’ve only given me a $10 tip... just thought you might want to check your math.” We were so stunned we kind of just looked at each other for a minute in disbelief and then told him to take another $10. We shouldn’t have done that. After leaving I tried to call a manager but conveniently no manager was ever available and there is no email to reach anyone to complain. I’m just going to say this; if you aldont have a ton of money to work with and want to spend all that you can in a good meal, this might not be the place for you. It disgusts me that a person who walked to and from my table a total of about 4 times believes he deserves a very large tip because of the price of my bill. In Canada, no percentage of the wage is taken to account for gratuity so there is no excuse here but pure greed. Very disappointed, next time (if I ever do go back) I’ll be bringing my tip straight to the kitchen.

For Sudbury I can see why this is ranked so high...but compared to a proper restaurant this place is garbage. If you appreciate and expect quality food don't waste your time here. Service was nice, the atmosphere was ok but the food was less than awesome. Bread was stale, Calamari was smelly, brushcetta was from Costco and the Ravioli/Sauce was not made in house. You could tell this restaurant was born from canned ingredients and continues to run this way. We will not be returning...hopefully there is better Italian places to eat in Sudbury.

Perfectly executed veal chop bone in. Portobello mushroom appetiser with goat cheese and a sliver of tender beef. Attentive service and a nice cozy atmosphere. Reservations strongly suggested. The restaurant was very busy for Tuesday night. This establishment is not inexpensive, but the portions and quality are there.

My wife and I visited Tommy's and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our dinner's were absolutely delicious - I had the cod - perfectly prepared, moist, flaky with a variety of vegetables, while my wife had the Veal Alpini, which was also very tasty. The food presentation was beautiful, and the service was impeccable: very personable, attentive and very fast. Some might say the prices are high but for me, I would consider Tommy's a fine dining restaurant and worth it (though i didn't think that they were unreasonable). The restaurant was busy so reservations are recommended.

This was our first visit, which wasn't exactly positive. Our waiter never checked up on us. We had to chase someone to get spoons for our soup, as well as salt and pepper. Half way through our meal, a different waiter asked if we wanted bread...we said yes but no one brought any. It wasn't busy so there's no excuses... Food was wonderful but the service was not!!

I was there on March 23rd and had a lovely dinner with friends. We didn't have a reservation but luckily there was one table in the middle of the dining room available and it was just fine. The atmosphere is nice, the wait staff really know their specials and my steak was cooked to perfection! I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars for the lack of female wait staff. Male servers earn a lot more on average than female servers and one of the reasons is because they get the best paid positions. I have been there a total of 3 times and I've never seen a female waiter. Maybe I've just been unlucky?

Our server was Jake, and he was knowledgeable as heck. He even taught us a thing or two about wine.

The first time I've been to Tommy's, the experience was unbelievable. The staff was very friendly, they did a excellent job of making sure we were taken care of while keeping a distance as to not interrupt. Great suggestions on food and drinks, also prepared us a very nice table. Very relaxed and quiet atmosphere. It had to have been the pasta dish I've ever had with a well sized portion.

Great food and fantastic service in an atmospheric setting. The only downside (which might not even matter to some) is that the food is VERY rich and heavy. It seemed like there may have been some overuse of sauce on both the pork chop and ravioli. Other than that, loved it!

I have never had a bad meal here and make it a point to go a few times a year. If you have never been to Tommy's I highly recommend you call and make a reservation. You wont be disappointed.

Probably one of the best restaurants in the city. Great wine. Great food. Price is reasonable. Down side? Fish. I always order fish at restaurants because I don't cook it at home. Had it 3 times there and not great. Not flavourful and boring. So, skip the fish. You'll have a great experience otherwise. Tip, make reservations. It's a small place and full even on a week day.

Das Essen jedoch ist qualitativ auf höchstem Niveau und absolut empfehlenswert für jeden, der sich in der Nähe von Sudbury aufhält. Das Lokal befindet sich im Kellergeschoß und versprüht eine romantische Atmosphäre. Sicherlich ist es preislich auf gehobenem Niveau, aber dafür erhält man auch eine angemessene "kulinarische Reise", mit welcher das Lokal von außen auch wirbt. Absolut empfehlenswert!

My wife & I got married here in their small private room (it was a tiny wedding) but everything was perfect! We came back to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and received the same outstanding service. The food was all cooked to perfection and the service was wonderful. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking for some of the beat fine dining in Sudbury. We plan to celebrate our anniversary here each year and whenever we can make it to Sudbury (we live in North Bay). Thanks again to all the wonderful staff at Tommy's Not Here

This was our first time at Tommy's. We had the beef carpaccio and calamari. Our server made us our favourite drinks that weren't even on the menu, at our request; he makes a mean negroni! The service was even better than the food- much more outstanding and memorable. Atmosphere was great :) We likely had the worst table in the house due to not reserving a table, and still felt like we had privacy and a great little nook. We will return.

Very quaint - a little hard to find but it's all part of the adventure. We were 4 adults and we all enjoyed our meal. We had such a great experience last time I could not believe how different this was. Basics like when we asked for bread this was completely confusing to the waiter. I went there today with friends. There is a fantastic menu with pretty good options of appetizers, main dishes, etc (I didn't pay attention on the dessert options). I ate a delicious Filet Mignon with smoked bacon surrounded it, with roasted potato and vegetables. There is a very good wine menu. I really indicate for you.

Pretty good "meat and potatoes" type fine dining. The veal chop was medium well (even though it was suppose to be medium rare) but still delicious. Good wine selection that's very well priced. I had high hopes! Evening started out great server was nice attentive. Quickly declined from there. We waited forever for our food then randomly our server was gone and no one was around for us I waited so long I wanted to get up and pay myself. Restaurant at this time was not busy. Food was great but creme brûlée’s was burnt. Just writing an honest review here I’m disappointed.

I drove to Sudbury for work and Tommy's Not Here was a recommended restaurant. I'm glad I went, the food was PERFECT ! The customer service was excellent and there's a great vibe/atmosphere.
