Worst indian food i ever had in my life. Paneer and dal are sweeter than there deserts, lamb curry doesn't have lamb in it, maybe they forgot to add it. Dinner buffet is over priced, dal is as sour as lemon. Please don't go to this place if you love india food.

Terrible experience. Will never spend money here again. Called in an order and they said it would be 50 minutes. Waited over 2 hours. Went to pay with a gift card and it was refused because “the manager wasn’t there”. Worst customer service I’ve experienced in Sudbury.

Hat's off to Ketan and staff at TAJ. Went there on our anniversary last week. When I mentioned it was our anniversary, Ketan treated my wife and I each to a glass of wine.....on the house. Wow. Very nice ambiance, clean and modern. Great selection of indian food in meat and non meat dishes. Staff are very professional. Great prices. Have been back many times since they opened and the experience is always first class!!! Check out TAJ if you are looking for an indian food experience. Best in the city!!!

never ever recommend this restaurant. I don't know why they have two different type of sitting arrangement one with sofa type of chairs and one with casual types . Poor Customer service .i went twice in this restaurant During my second visit i request to service provider to allow me to sit in that special type of chairs . Answers i got from the service provider " this section is closed " please sit on the other side . But after 5 min they offer that same area for sitting to other customer who came after me to sit on that special sofa type chairs . this is clear dis-respect really disappointed me and my family .

I went over there for takeout order at 8:50 but they refused to take our order, their reason was we’re closed but google was showing they are open till 9:30 as well as their timing board and they don’t know how to deal with customer especially Kashyap. Very poor customer service

Clean and friendly restaurant. We went in for a buffet and had lots of options from meat, vegetables, rice, dessert, and some cold salads and colesaws. I found the level of heat to be just perfect. Most meals with a ????hot warning were correct in the heat range. The drink menu has some errors in the quantity of alcohol. I'm not sure what scale they use. Overall, I would go again soon!

We ordered lamb biryani from this place and literally were handed rice in the name of biryani there were 2 small pieces of lamb. We payed for our meal waited almost an hour for it to be made and we get coloured rice and 2 tiny chunks of lamb in the name of lamb biryani. Just because we didn’t dine in and our order was a takeaway we were cheated. Shameful.

When you eat Indian in Toronto you wont eat here. I hate to say it but the food is horrible ! It doesnt taste fresh and sometimes it smells off. The price is horrendous !!! It is too bad because the staff is so friendly and the place has a beautiful ambiance. You need to revamp your foods man they are not up to par at all ! I will never eat here again unless they change the way they cook the food and have more choices. I would never post this if I didnt mean it. I have given them the benefit of the doubt about 6 times and every single time I have this bad experience.

I went to Taj Bistro restaurant all the way from Toronto to Sudbury, all I can say is The food I ordered (Naan, Paneer bhurji, Malai Kofta, Handi Biriyani) was The best if I compare with all other Indian restaurants from GTA. Best Handi biriyani (Authentic taste from Indian spices); Naans were amazing. Must try this place if you are foodie and conscious about Authenticity and flavour. The price is worth over the Quality you get there! I wish they open more Locations.:)

This is a stylish establishment that is very clean, contemporary in style and comfortable. I decided to have the Lunch Buffet. The buffet looked like it might have a bit less of a selection of items as they may have on their Dinner Buffet, but it still had the basic items most people look for (Butter Chicken, Samosas, Daal, Chana Masala, desserts etc..). The flavours were good, although some East Indians may find the dishes not as “authentic” as other Indian restaurants. Service was good. Prices were a bit high for a Lunch Buffet.

I really wish that there was 1/2 star. -month ago when I went there they completely faked their food and presented in best way possible hence I gave them great review. -since last 3 times I have been there they provide garbage food, obviously they fool Canadians by calling their taste as authentic Indian food. - I order from the menu all the time and quantity has never been same, the moment they know that we are in big group they will cut their quantity in to half, to make more money. -taste of Punjabi food is literally sweet like Gujarati food, I mean they really don't know how to make Punjabi food, and then this idiot server named "Parth" came and asked me that how is the food, and when I explain that it was not that great, he started advocating the food " why the hell would you ask for my opinion if you don't want to take it lol " - food from menu can literally take from one hour to one and half hour, the old staff girl was great at customer service, the new guy "Parth" is super dumb , and have no idea about customer service standards in Canada. - off course they have other boys who are great at customer service, but what could be done if chefs are careless and won't prepare food on time.

Excellent Indian Cuisine! Where to start? Best Aloo Gobi (potatoes and cauliflower) in my life. Get the large...medium spiced. There are 2 fabulous chicken dishes-I like the Seekh Kebab and Malai chicken kebab. They are not in a sauce but with Raita and naan- yummy. If you can take the heat- try the chilli pakora. Deep fried jalapeño in a chickpea flour batter. Don’t buy the dessert from the menu, best value is per pound. “Dilbahar is a Gulab Jamun with a sweetened cheese/ condensed milk filling. The “pink” coconut Chum Chum is soaked with a light syrup. The team is very friendly and authentic. I hope you enjoy. We go at least twice a month.

Amazing food, Great service and a lovely ambiance. The staff here were very courteous and helpful. The place looks lovely, makes you want to sit down and have a great meal. The food at the buffet was cooked and had an authentic taste to it as well. The buffet was replenished on time and the variety of food was modest. Not too much and not too little, the best recipe to ensure that neither quality nor quantity is sacrificed. It was my first time in Sudbury and this restaurant contributed to my overall experience of Sudbury. I will be dining here on my next visit. This place is great for both casual and business meetups. The ambiance has lighting that is not too dark and not too bright as well. The booths give enough privacy to you and your company.

This place is great. Take out is amazing, this has become our regular curry place. The all-you-can-eat buffet lunch back before covid was surely the best deal in town, like 12 bucks. Bistro serving buffet? Buffet wasn't ready made us wait for 30 minutes. Can't tell a difference between chicken boti. Tika. Or malai. Service was very good. White Canadian love the ghulab jamun. Taj Bistro, an embarassment to hospitality, Firstly the positive: The ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant. What needs improvement: 1. Service: This area is severely lacking. There was only one server. which was not a issue as the restaurant was mostly empty during a weekday lunch hour. it was his attitude and the lack of customer service basic knowledge. Incident: Was told after i filled my plate and mini bowls. That I am "NOT ALLOWED" to use the mini bowls for anything other than dessert. Was spoken to inappropriately form a distance in front of my guests and other diners. He went on to argue with me and insisted that i immediately transfer my curries from the mini bowls on to the plate. These curries were runny and made no sense why i would use a plate. Who treats their customers like this? Buffet station was also clean and many cold items were not freshly prepared. at least a day old. did not stay long after this incident. settled bill and left.

Wow wow wow.... We got take out tonight from here and we got the butter chicken, garlic naan bread and some basmati rice. The butter chicken legit tasted like spicy pasta sauce and so watery and there were 6 pieces of tiny "chicken" in the entire $20 sauce. The garlic naan had the weirdest texture too (think soggy and thin) and had a bunch of weird stuff on it. I honestly can't. I'm so upset about this. Such a joke. I'd never recommend this place to anyone

Not many options for solo people. Either get a very large family style dinner or the only option for a solo meal (butter chicken) . Also similar for dessert, minimum order is 1lbs which would be mostly thrown away if I bought it The butter chicken that I had was good.

DO NOT ORDER TAKE OUT!!! I live 5 minutes from the restaurant and when the food arrived it was cold. Naan was burnt, one piece of chicken my chicken order, deep fried food tasted like grease and was cold and soggy, and I cannot believe the portion you get...it is outrageous the price you pay for the quantity you get.

Great Dum biriyanis and decent Indian buffets !! A bit slow in taking takeout orders! We had to wait almost 20 mins to place an order as the receptionist/bartender was busy in her phone even though it wasn't crowded at all! And the waiter guy made some rude comments to some young Indian folks who came there which was quite disappointing!! Overall, this place would be great if they had better customer service!!

Came for dinner. The AYCE buffet was all that was on offer. (19.95) A lot of the food tasted like lunches reheats. The 3 grilled (tandoori) chicken varieties were rather plain, and somewhat dry...... the samosa was a cheapo frozen grocery store item. Not very good. The other curries were good enough to get 3 stars on the overall score, not amazing, not terrible. Service was good. Room was clean and sort of "nightclubbey " in appearance. On the plus side they have Ras Malai AND Gulab Jamun on the buffet...(fav. Desert) 3/5

Upon entering, there are multiple signs that says masks are required. However apparently this doesn't apply to staff. Our server was not wearing wearing mask when he visited our table. Disgusting. I immediately lost my appetite. If this is what they do on the front end of their business, it makes you question whats going on behind the scene. Will never eat here again.

I've been to this place a couple of times.. I could say that it is the best North Indian style restaurant in Sudbury since there aren't many.. I really liked the food... the biriyani that I ate had a tasty gravy and a good quantity of meat and rice.. anyway the only bad I felt is that they make us wait for a long time in there.. first I had to wait for the food and then after eating I had to wait for them to let us pay the bill.. which was almost the same time they took to make the food...

I ended up getting sick because of his lack of knowledge about the food at the restaurant. I would not recommend this place if you have a dairy allergy. Buffet is great although the selection was getting a bit low after 1 pm. Food quality was great, typical Indian ethnic fare. Staff are kind and polite. Theme and style are fairly chic, some obvious effort went into decorations and look and feel. Conviniently parking across the street from hotel entrance. Great spot to meet a crowd and get a quick buffet lunch.

This is the best Indian food available in Sudbury. Being Indian, I can differentiate the good from the bad. This is really an authentic Indian food restaurant with right spices in the right proportion. It is not only about the food, the owner is very much passionate about providing the exceptional service to its customers and don't feel shy to go extra mile to make them happy. I was coming from Toronto and requested him to deliver the food to my hotel. They close at 9:00 PM but he intentionally got the food delivered at 10:00 PM so that I can have it while it is still hot. Truly amazing and unforgettable. My job makes me travel all over Canada but rarely I see such a elevated level of services. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work.

I have only eaten Indian food a few times in my life so have no idea how authentic this is. I thoroughly enjoyed what i ate from the buffet. It was hot and plentiful. The restaurant was not very busy (a snowy friday during the holidays). The staff was exceptional, attentive, willing to answer questions and guide you through your meal. Decor very beautiful. Well if you talk about FOOD let me tell you they serve delicious and very good quality food , I have tried so many dishes here including Veg Thaali, Samosa, Kachori, Paneer and what not , Masala chai is a must try but the reason I get disappointed is the service. You don’t get proper answers and also you don’t get satisfied talking to them but the food does the part.

I do not have a tonne of experience with East Indian food, but I really liked everything that I tried here. I tried the buffet because I wanted to try everything and I can't name the dishes but they were all very good. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant looks newly updated. I would recommend this to anyone that wants to try something different and delicious.

This restaurant is amazing!! The decor is outstanding, the service is on point, the prices are definitely reasonable, and all the staff are dressed to the nines. My fianceé and I had the buffet, which was so good, but they also serve off the menu. It's a romantic date night spot, but also a nice place to bring the whole family, and it's week chair accessible. I cannot WAIT to go back!!! 10 out of 10 for sure. If you want to try something different or want authentic Indian food, The Taj Bistro is the place for you!! → FREE PARKING!!

When we arrived there at around 5pm there was hardly any food on the buffet, and when we expected the buffet to be restocked it was not. Food was dried out from sitting under the heat lamps. Reading all the reviews on this place we had expected far better!

1) restaurant is no 1 (infrastructure etc) 2) great friendly servers and staff 3) when I said that I am new to this town and was asking something about the type of taste ( As I am indian too), the chef came to see me in person and asked my about the type of taste I am use to. Chef's interaction was great. 4) hot and sour soup I had was 4/5 5) but when my main course came, I was mesmerized and it reminded me of 5 start restaurant taste in Mumbai, India 101/100 ???????? 6) Then again the chef came out to ask me how was the taste and then he went on each and every table to enquire if everything was perfect. 7) the best place to go with your family 8) being indian I usually find it hard to get good indian taste in Canada but this one was awesome

What a mess. The young man at the counter didn't send the food we ordered. It took several reminders. They didn't provide cutlery until we asked. The food came out in a random pattern so certain individuals went hungry while others had multiple courses. Then at the end we were overcharged. The man didn't ask for any additional help when he was clearly over his head. On top of all of these issues, his attitude was extremely unpleasant, acting as if we were the problem. I will never come near this place again.

They have a decent menu and I think the best in the north. The foods are tasty but a bit oily in my opinion. Not something I will eat every week. The naans are expensive and not the best. I will give them 5 star if they can better the naans and reduce the amount of oil in their food. Prefer if they can add Indian style pizza. At the end, my go to Indian restaurant in Sudbury.

The food was EXCELLENT (best Dal I have ever had) menu items were reasonably priced, decor was fabulous and I was sooo impressed with the service I received. They have plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, as well as some VEGAN options (yay!) They serve alcohol. Smooth and relaxant atmosphere. Very clean. So welcoming. The food was flavorful and tasty the only thing I wasn't pleased with was the food was not very warm. Overall a good place to have some Indian food

Food is real good! I have tried Veg thaali from all Indian restaurants in Sudbury now but Taj is the best in taste that I found. Also they provide different curries everyday which is not the case with other restaurants. Highly recommended.

What a hidden gem! I went for the buffet and I loved it. Good selection. I like how butter chicken cam in mild and spicy to give you an option. Multiple meat as well as vegetarian options. The desserts had less selection but I was not there for that =). They have quite an extensive menu if you want to order a la carte. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

First of all they don't have trained staff. When we entered and moved ahead towards table, suddenly one of their staff member came and said to us to go back at the entrance which seemed rude to me. If you want us to wait to be seated you should have written that at front or must have anyone at front standing there to do so. Secondly, i am myself an indian chef, so i know about food. I said to one of the servers that chicken pieces were cold and not good for eating and told him to refill that and instead of doing that he started arguing with me which was not kind at all. And then owner came at my table and started explaining me situation and said that they refill everything in 15 mins Which I didn't saw happening. So overall all not worth my money. I won't be going back.

Not good at all.To night on 7th November 7 of us went to yah bistro for dinner.we waited 45 minutes for the appetizers.entre was ok but at the end when we asked for a naan bread the waitress told it will take time and she supposed to be let me know how long it will take.waited five minuets and decided that we are done eating then she showed up with the naan.so when she showed up we said we are done and we want to cancel the naan bread.but our waitress refused to take the order back and started arguing with all of us.She was swearing and loud.there was 3 kids with us.it was a horrible experience in taj bistro.In my 16 years in Canada , first time I found that a waitress was arguing with the customer.It was jut a naan bread and because of that they made the whole situation miserable. So that’s it from us.we will never go back to taj bistro again and my request to my friends be careful if u do.

Horrendous experience. I have ordered first time with this restaurant and frankly speaking one of the worst indian restaurant in Canada. Having ordered food and getting burnt naan breads is pathetic. But the situation even worsen further, at first the restaurant guy started giving excuses and then even replacing the burnt naan breads. The restaurant has given the same burnt naan breads. Open your mind and take the criticism and provide better service.

Truly a disappointment. The service, while friendly, was REALLY slow. The entrees were poorly executed, and ingredient quality was questionable. I actually believe the chicken used in my Tikka entree was a processed chicken product, and the shrimp in my husband's entree was lukewarm. I will say the samosas were delicious and cooked perfectly, as was the garlic naan. But in all fairness, we spent over $60 on a meal that wasn't even worth $20. save for the 2 glasses of house red we did enjoy.
