I always enjoy coming here because the food is and drink is pretty good plus they have an amazing patio! The staff are a little slow at times so it can be hit or miss but it’s worth it if you get a spot on the patio!
I f**king love this place. Atmosphere is great, the food is good and the beer selection is amazing. This is my go to place when I just want to grab a bite with some friends and hang out. I am a little sad to see some of my favorite items removed from their new menu but, I'm sure I will discover some new favorites. Keep up the good work.
We’re always looking for great local eats - and the Buddha is one of our regular favs. The huge patio is so awesome during the warm months and the food and staff are always amazing.
Great selection of import beers and the food to match. Beautiful outdoor seating area.
I go from time to time with my wife and for the most part we enjoy our visits. Made the mistake of coming out on a Friday. Service was slow, my wife displayed obvious disinterest in having cilantro in a dish she selected, but was told it couldn't be changed. And that's fair, but I feel that when we change an order from something WITH cilantro to something else with cilantro, without knowingthe sever should be mindful and proactive to let us know or at least bring menus so we can look for something else. Good food, sub par service, hope this gets corrected in future visits.
Love it here. Outdoor seating is cozy and relaxed. Beer selection is incredibly varied. If you're not terribly hungry, why not try the Billy Van Ham or the Baked Shrooms? Be sure to come when they have live music, it's a treat.
Visiting Sudbury and this place was recommended. It did not disappoint! The food was awesome and the prices were good. Hubby was very pleased with the beer menu. Can't wait to go back!
My wife and I have had meals multiple times here hoping that our previous experiences were isolated. Unfortunately that is not the case. Each visit we have found the staff to be pretentious, condescending and slow to deliver. Food is ok but overpriced. WILL NOT BE RETURNING.
Food was good and prices were ok. Service was kinda slow but staff were friendly. I just love their outdoor patio, it's so unexpectedly charming and bohemian. A perfect spot in the summer. This would be a beautiful location for an outdoor reception.
Sat beside the bar for 15 minutes and didn’t get any service until the bartender acknowledged me. Didn’t appreciate that other customers who came after me got menus and drinks before I even got acknowledged. Cool inside decor, not cool customer service skills
Great atmosphere, friendly staff, a real diamond in the rough. Don't be fooled by the area, this is a great place to eat and meet with friends. Food is really good as well with a lot of health options, such as vegan and gluten free.
This place is nice it is not just a bar as it might seam when you walk in. They have a beautiful out door seating area in the back with lots of lights. There food is good and it is a nice meal that is not to expensive.
Found this gem by accident. And we are so impressed. We ordered beer and cocktails on the back patio. Just fantastic. For munches we ordered nachos, and devoured them. Highly highly recommend. Will go back for dinner and drinks.
Laughing Budha Blueberry Lager, though seasonal is the best beer in town. The atmosphere is very cozy and friendly. They need to do something about the mice on the patio though.
Service was a tad slow. A bit slow on getting water for the group and didn't tell us about the verbal desert menu. The food was good.
Great service every time and food is always fresh, hot and quality. Every cheesecake of the day is good; moderate prices for what you get. Very nice interior.
Best pizza I have had in I don't know how long
Food is good. Quite some unique dishes. Would consider coming again.... If I had all the time to chill . The service was super slow.. we went after 2 and had to wait 45 mins before got our food.
Had the Brie Bomb tonight and it was spectacular. Great atmosphere and our server was fast and polite. Definitely will be going back!
Staff was friendly but they were pretty slow to come around to us even though there weren't many people there. Food was okay. Reasonable prices. Good Caesars. No ac since they leave the doors open to the patio. Also lots of bugs flying around inside cause of it.
Food is good but Service is much slower than average. Would only recommend if you have more than can afford to wait an hour to get your food.
Great place! Thank you for vegan options!
Great food and cozy service.
The food is very good, the atmosphere is nice and cosy, and they've got good drinks. It's just all around good experience. Great place for dates or groups. And very friendly staff! Can't wait for the weather to get nice again so I can eat out on their lovely patio area.
I have to start off this review by saying the overall vibe of the patio is very clasè. The service was clasè, the music was clasè, and although there was a seemingly hostile spider he too turned out to be very clasè. I couldn’t remember which pizza I wanted to order so I ended up saying something close which was “hakuna matata” the server laughed and immediately knew which one I wanted which I think was very clasè. All and all the Laughing Buddha certainly isn’t any hole in the wall. It’s definitely a place if you’re hungry you can call. If you’re looking for a place fit for bae, the laughing Buddha is tres classè!
I went with my family to this restaurant because of the reviews on Google Map. If you have small kids, think twice before coming here. I took my 4 and 6 years old and they didn't get a colouring sheet whatsoever. The service was very slow. When we finally got our order, I had to get up and ask for napkins and cutlery. About the food, go for nachos and pizza. They were good. Caesar salad BIG THUMBS DOWN, it was so mushy that we only took two bites of it. We spoke with our waitress (Emily M.) about it, and she just said " Ah, that's too bad". I mean come on, it's not our fault she should at least try to take it of the bill. That salad was like three days on the fridge. To sum up, my experience in the place was slow and bad service, and partially bad food. Here is the receipt to prove my review.
Service was a little off. Tables who were seated after us received their beverages and food before us. Food was good.
Vibe was very classy. We Ordered home-made Hummus. And it was yum. Very friendly staff I should admit.
I always end up here every time I'm in town. Everything is super tasty with great options for plant and meat eaters alike. Huge selection of beers and ciders plus a cute patio in the summer. It can get busy but it's worth the wait!
Good pizzas and sandwiches with a reasonably large beer menu. Fair prices, relaxed atmosphere and good for groups. Sometimes walk out smelling of deep fryer. Great for take out or grabbing a bite/drink with friends.
Great place for vegans to eat. Lots of plant-based options and I LOVE their vegan pizza! Plus, they have a beautiful patio and great service.
One of my favorite downtown food spots, the Buddha offers a solid variety of sandwich and pizza options, complemented by a reasonable selection of draft and bottled beers. It offers a casual vibe with a rotating selection of works by local artists lining the walls. The patio is enjoyable, too, when the weather allows its use.
Nice staff and good food
One of the best restaurants in sudbury. It has a lot of vegetarian options. We tried their pita and hummus. Definitely worth visiting
Awesome patio, best in the whole town. But the service and the food are a joke. After waiting 45 mins for a small plate of nachos it was like eating cardboard with cheese. Three other tables around us were upset and angry with the negligence of the staff as well. Pretty rough
My fiance and I used to come here all the time for beers on the patio. Can't wait for that to start up again!
I love the staff, my waitress was very polite and attentative and the food was delicious! There's so many different types of beer! It's awesome! The Laughing Buddha attracts all kinds of different people, it's fun! I would give it a 5 star if you guys considered to get different tables and chairs. They are really dated and not comfortable. Aside from that I would totally suggest to check it out!
Service is impeccable. What a nice ambiance! First time here! Food is piping hot AND delicious!! I feel like I'm in the jungle sitting outside comfortably. Mojitos' even more perfect, mint is sooooo fresh! I'm still here! Great end to a long workday!
Excellent food. Pizza with pickles is fantastic.
First meal in Sudbury - and this place set the bar quite high. Falafel sandwich was delicious.
Nice art around the joint and a cozy atmosphere. The pizza was a little oily, but nothing a few napkins couldn't fix! Unfortunately, sandwiches are only served until 9 despite the location being open until 2am. However, there's a large selection of liquors for any cocktail you can imagine. Recommended if you're craving late night snacks or pizza.
Went here for the first time on Saturday for Mother's Day. It was easy enough to find and we were found our table right away. We were in a far corner outside and because of this we weren't served very well. The other tables were being waited on quickly but we had to wait a long time to make our order. The food selection was mainly pizza, salads, sandwiches and some appetizers. The prices were decent and the food we ordered was made well and tasted good. The appetizers we ordered weren't brought out until the main food was, again an error with serving, but otherwise it was a pleasant visit. I don't drink but the people in our group do and they were saying the drink selection was good and they enjoyed their drinks. They have a full separate menu for their drinks. In the end, I would be okay with going back any time, just wished they had a little larger selection of food and if you get sat in a corner then be prepared to wait or have to wave down the server a few times.
I always have a good every time I come here. My latest visit was my birthday, October 11th. My boyfriend and I ordered a drink, the dill pickles appetizer(so good!), and the cheeseburger pizza and the Bailey’s Tiramisu for dessert. The food is always great here and the service is very good. I have zero complaints. The place always often has a mixed crowd ????
Go here. Food was excellent--not overly salty, is home made and very fresh. Staff was quick, polite and friendly. Excellent beer selection! French Fries were not that great, but everything else was fantastic. Don't let the exterior 'look' deceive you.
After searching for an hour and a half for a resteraunt that was actually open on a Sunday afternoon - our meal at Laughing Buddha was the best best part of passing through Sudbury, for sure. Our waitress was quick, kind and thoughtful. She knew we were in a rush to get back in the road and had our food ready in record time. The Chicken Nova sandwich was incredible. Just the right amount of tart from the cheese and spices in the pesto balanced out the lightly seasoned chicken perfectly, to give it a burst of flavor. I came into the restaurant annoyed and frustrated but left left happy and full.
My family and I went for lunch today and it was amazing. I walked in and wasn't 100% sure what to expect, but as soon as I sat down at the outdoor patio I was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the Feisty Feta Dip to those looking for a bit of a kick. The truffle fries weren't anything too special, but man were they good. The fire at our table wasn't lighting at first, but both the hostess and waitresses were extremely helpful and didn't give up until it was lit. If you go now, they may still have smore kits (complimentary) and really good hot chocolate (with *gasp* REAL WHIP CREAM!!!)
Really good food. I do wish the music was more then just arcade fire but the place was really chill and I would go back.
Friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Tasty food. Can get busy. Shimmer patio is very nice.
This restaurant is located in downtown. It has a beautiful patio that you can't see from the road and no one can see you from the road. It is very private and has lights for night time. The food is also very good with many different vegetarian, meataterian and vegan options. The prices are also very good. The only improvement would be how the need to update the furnishings inside. I would visit again
Honestly this place used to be the top... now they sell small salads for 18 bucks when it should cost 4 ...:won’t be back! Place just keeps getting cheaper!
Reserve for 20-25 to celebrate. Service was quick and efficient. Food was excellent and server was always very open to any changes etc.
Disappointing. They claim gf food but can't offer real cheese on their pizzas and no dedicated frier. So their gf nachos are not gf..
Great location for student university crowd. Summer patio is a nice spot for a quiet beer or grab some food. Beer selection is large but some of the popular imports are in short supply. Food is pretty ok but some meals are restricted to certain times of the day. Choice of side dishes with many meals; choose the coleslaw instead of the chickpea salad as many dishes already are abundant with chick pea, plus it is a little gritty. Don't assume veggie options are vegan. Just ask and the happy staff will try to accommodate your request. Washrooms are just off an hallway to other dining rooms and they are usually smelly and dingy. They really do need an upgrade and during peak student drinking hours there can be a wait. Luckily there is a second set off the main dining room- pick those. Street side tables in summer do offer a pseudo al fresco experience but the bloody CPR trains will drive you nuts, not to mention the proximity to the humanity walking by asking for spare change. Makes you think.
It took very long for a waitress to come and serve us. Also, the food took quite a while for is to be served, and it didn’t seem busy at all? Though, we loved the half pizza/half salad option and it tastes really well. Atmosphere was good and eventhough the service was slow: they were very friendly.
Loved the atmosphere! Dill pickle pizza was sooooo good! Drinks were tasty and service was amazing!
One of the best patios in town.
Delicious food and polite servers. Why are the staff on their cell phones so much? Want a bigger tip, interact with your customers. She I sit by myself at a bar I like interaction.
Went for a late lunch and was so pleased to find an amazing patio, with perfect mix of sun and shade. Great time and great food for our whole family - age 2 through 66.
The food is so unique and delicious! I recommend the brie bomb as an appetizer. The selection of drinks is varied and there's something for everyone.
Slow service. My girlfriends food came & mine never did. Waitress finally came over and had to investigate where my food was .. they forgot about it and it was never made. She assured me it would be out in 5 minutes. I watched 4 other tables get all their food when she finally came over again and said it would be another 5 minutes (it had been well over half hour). I finally got my food about 15 minutes later and just asked for the bill and a takeout container and asked to have the sandwich removed from my bill which it was. For the large size of the restaurant I think they just need more employees.
Went to Sudbury for work and wanted to find a great place to eat before leaving. I was initially going to go somewhere else, because of the distance and traveling by myself, but I took a leap of faith and decided to go here. I really liked the overall atmosphere, design, and feel of the space. My waitress was helpful and extremely nice. I only gave it four stars, because upon entering, one of the bartenders/hostesses wasn't too friendly. I didn't really have a general understanding of where to go and she didn't seem to care. Overall, food was good and they have A LOT of different beers on tap / mostly craft. Their options change very frequently, so there is a lot of variety. I ordered an old fashioned, Muskoka Detour, Falafel Plate, and a side poutine. Falafel plate was HUGE - had to bring it home, but definitely recommend it as group appetizer. Would still come here again, if I ended up in Sudbury!
Love the food here! The menu has very creative takes on their dishes. The patio is lovely. I haven't been disappointed once!
Fantastic food with tastes you don't usually find anywhere else. I recommend the Brie Bomb and the Chicken Nova sandwich. The beer selection is second to none, and the bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly. Great atmosphere and feel, patio is comfortable and there are many seating options. Renovations look amazing too! Truly the best place downtown for a drink and a meetup
Love this place. So many craft beer to choose from, and our servers (Courtney and Lyla) were amazing. Thanks for a great night!
Absolutely fantastic, definitely in a dusty part of town but if your feeling brave you need to hit this up. Tons of beers on tap, the food is amazing and the pizzas are worth the visit. The atmosphere is very laid back and chill. If you in town you should visit!!
Great food. Not a very fast paced restaurant so things can take a little while but totally worth the wait. The selection of different beers is amazing as well
There is a great variety on menu, I wanted to try everything! There's a nice vibe, the decor is pleasant looking. The prices are good and the staff is helpful!.
Great place! Large beer menu, nice patio, really good hot chocolate, and their banana ketchup is tasty as well. Perfect place for late night snacks and for large groups.
Good food, reasonable prices, service was a little lacking. We only got part of what we ordered, even though we weren't charge for the missing item.
My bf and I love this place. Lots of vegan options & amazing customer service!! One of the must go to restaurants in Sudbury
Great service and atmosphere with an extensive list of craft brews! The menu is full of great appetizers, though you won't find a lot of options for a full meal.
Went there for 2 pizzas and a sandwich. Waited 1.5 hours with no one checking up on us. When asked they reassured us it was on its way out. Half an hour later after we complained again did they bring our food. Everything was under cooked and the side salads were wilted and had no dressing and the sandwhich was made wrong and inedible. No compensation was offered. What a horrible experience. Having worked here in the past and have eaten here 8 am severely disappointed in the food and management. Meanwhile the two ladies that came in at the exact same time were served, waited on, and finished all before we even got all of our drinks. Don't waste your time if they are a little bit busy you won't be having a good experience.
Fantastic service always very friendly. Good menu if your tired of the same old type of restaurants. Beer menu is fantastic
Nice portions healthy meals
Great service, great menu, food was delicious. extensive beer and wine menu, also dog friendly
Service was a 3/10. Location is good with nearby parking. Building is COLD (do they even heat the place?). Food was a little expensive for what you receive but was tasty. On our most recent visit the server was inattentive. She never brought the ordered drink and did not return to the table in a reasonable amount of time for me to ask for it. Once we were finished eating I was asked if I’d like something to drink and I reminded her of the order. She did offer a free drink at that time however we were ready to leave and I wasn’t interested in it anymore. The waitress’ response was “alcohol doesn’t leave your system for 24 hours so you might as well have one.” I was a little off-put by the comment. Sounded a lot like advocating for drinking and drinking (it was likely just a poorly worded comment). The Laughing Buddha would not be my first choice of restaurant/pub in the future.
Very good food. No complaints about anything. Good place for vegan options.
The service was a bit slow and the food was mediocre. Really nice patio ambiance.
Racist restaurant! I do not recommend you go with brown skin. They had tables empty but said they don't. They called few people and nobody turned up. As I was just standing there in the front waiting, after half an hour some white people came behind, so they offered me table in front corner, hot from sun and empty for last half an hour and away from their side patio which was nicely decorated and in shade full of White people only. I asked them to move me there but they said they don't have table and if it became available they will move us. Then table was empty but given to white ladies behind us. Now I asked why I was not moved but they changed waitress to answer us. And new waitress said she did not know we were waiting. Then they took us in back side corner again in hot place away from their white ambience. And it was not only table empty, other 4 tables were empty too. I did not like that but I gave order for Pizza so it is fast and we can just leave. Order did not come for half an hour. So I walked around to check if white ladies behind me had their order. And I find it was served to them. So I asked again and waitress told me in 5 to 7 minutes. However this took another half an hour. And I complained, guess what, new waiter again, now saying he will hurry up. Then he brings us burnt pizza. So we had food and left without giving tips. The Laughing Buddha you are a shame on hospitality in Canada. *** Response to the laughing buddha Mr owner, nothing else explains why I was made to wait half an hour to give me table that was empty for the whole time. And then given back side hot place also empty another 4 tables. And if waitress made mistake not moving me where I asked her, why changed waitress, I could see her in restaurant just ignoring me and serving on other side. It seemed every attempt was made to corner me away. Even now you lack acknowledgement of what has happened. I've not seen such a disgraceful behavior in any other restaurant in canada so far.
We were desperate to find a place to have lunch because it was a national holiday... and this place was such a surprise!!!!!! Excellent service, fair prices, delicious pizzas and a beautiful patio.
Pretty good food. Sometimes the wait can be long but that's not a problem provided you're with good company. Good beer selection too.
Always enjoy my meals at the Laughing Buddah. Food is delishious some times there can be a bit of a wait depending how packed the restaurant is. Love the new patios lots of seating options. The restaurant can get very loud when it's packed.
Food was good. The waitress was unbelievably intolerable and slow. Took 1.5 hours to get our pizzas. If it wasn't for the gentleman supporting her, I wouldn't offer any stars. He was great, but nothing he could do to save the performance for the night.
The food is usually quite good, I normally have the hummus and veggies or a salad with felafel. I feel that the service has really stepped it up the last couple of times I've been. I went with my children recently and they really enjoyed themselves. Many thanks.
We love this restaurant ! Shane, our server went above and beyond with attentive service , and an engaging personality. The raspberry mojito was wonderful but not to my taste. The mango mojito served as a replacement was amazing. In fact everything ordered was truly yummy. personal favorites were the roasted brussel sprouts and the asiago and feta cheese appetizer Best ever ! So. Why a 4 rating ? More than ample amounts of pita were served alongside three of our apetizers. Given some people do not eat bread, perhaps a side choice of sliced veggies alongside the pita or in lieu of the pita for an extra fee might be welcomed. Beyond that, this restraunt is a true gem.
All the pizzas had cheddar cheese which I thought was weird... It was awesome! Nice zahs and good brews... Can't go wrong.
Friendly staff, wait times for food was a bit long but the staff were really great about topping up water/drinks and checking in on you.
Normally I love this place but I was really disappointed today that it took an hour from the time I was brought menus, to our food arriving (Caesar salad and a pizza). I understand they were busy during the lunch rush, but some warning would have been appreciated. The waitress I had made me feel like a burden when I wanted my drink topped up and some extra Caesar dressing because the salad had dried out by the time we got it. I really hope for a better experience next time
Great atmosphere. Drinks were great and the food was so different then other places I've been to. In the summer sitting in the outdoor areas is great too.
Great patio and delicious food. We are on vacation... first time in Sudbury and first time we have eaten out for months since the pandemic. It was a lovely experience and it felt very safe, clean, and professional ❤️
Really enjoyed the outdoor patio, and that was about it. We ordered the Asiago Artichoke dip as a starter and it was really greasy, lacked seasoning, and was just - off. Ordered the Herb-roasted Margarita pizza for the entre and it would have been a great pizza, however each tomato slice on the pizza had about a full teaspoon of dried oregano - this was way too overpowering, and any cook that understands dried oregano knows that it should be used sparingly - a little bit goes a long way. Staff was friendly but we had to wave them down to ask for requests - which then never came (chili oil, water refills).
My son chose this place for his birthday dinner on a monday night it was busy busy but did not matter the waitress was very nice and the food did not dissapoint, and the patio was the best.
Food was delicious but it took almost two hours to get to the table.. Great atmosphere though I'll definitely give it another try someday.
This place has a hipster vibe, and is really laid back. They servers are friendly and they sometimes have musicians playing. If you want beer, they have a huge selection, including craft breweries and beer from around the world. They also have some really good pizza. Prices are good, about where you'd expect
Great dining experience. Very affordable, and great staff. I loved the sandwich I got, which was the Bela Lugosi. Their Caesar was also delicious. However, the appetizer I got left a bit to be desired. They were the Jalapeno Poppers and they were a bit lacking in terms of taste, but they were still OK at the least.
I recommend the deep fried pickles and the sandwiches! The chickpea salad is also fantastic. Place can get very loud when busy but i enjoy going with a group of people.
Great food but menu lacks variety. Beautiful patio. Took and hour and a half to get our food due to them not having enough staff to keep up with the amount of people in the restaurant. Need to hire more people to limit customer wait times. Our poor waiter was running off his feet.
The outdoor patio is amazing during the warmer months and the indoor seating has such a warm vibe to it. The staff is always so friendly and the food is amazing. I have been going to this restaurant for years and will continue to go for years to come. Drinks are good too. I recommend this cocktail I had with rosewater! Super killer!
Great atmosphere with a nice beer selection. One of the best pizzas I've had in a long time! It was unique and I have no complaints.
Cool hangout. Among the coolest hangout for dates and hip people around Sudbury. Alternative scene. Sudbury has only one trendy hangout bar this is it.
food was great and service just need warmers in far back or citronella candles for bugs
The food was delicious. I got the Roasted Margherita and tried the Vegan Buddha they were very flavorful and well cooked! Definitely recommend to those visiting the area.
Walked by this place two years ago when in town and wanted to try it the next time I was in Sudbury. Well worth it. Staff are friendly. The pizza was the best I've had in years. And enough to take half of it to go. Wine too! If you can't finish your bottle they'll seal it and off you go! In Ontario no less! Who could believe this province had entered the 21st century as regards liquor! This place has all-gender washrooms so it must be LGBTQ friendly. The only drawback was the music in the evening. Too loud and definitely not Mozart. Earlier though it was fine.
Love this little local place! Great service even when it's busy and the staff is always polite and fun. The menu is not what you'd see at a chain restaurant, very diverse and authentic. Definitely recommend!
Visited in July, 2018. I hate to give a bad review before I get to the food, but after an hour and a half without food, I'm getting "hangery". Location was OK, patio was nice, but you do get a fair amount of train noise. I feel they were under staffed. When the food arrived it was good, but I feel that doesn't make up for the wait.
Great food, usually good service, ambient atmosphere. My only qualm is you can't get sandwiches after 9. Still delicious tho!
I ordered the cheese and garlic pizza, as well as provolone sticks from the Laughing Buddha. The pizza was actually quite good and I would be tempted to get it again via takeout, but the provolone sticks had so little cheese and were insanely bland. As for dining in, no thank you. The service here was terrible. The waiter never refilled our drinks, never asked us how the food was, and in fact we never saw him except for when he took our order and when we had to go find him to ask for the bill (since he never came back.) Overall, decent pizza, awful service.
Fantastic place focused on local, craft beer and food. Great whisky selection too.
Cool place and great food. And the service was excellent from Draven our water.
Fantastic pizza, best I'd had in a while, and enjoyed it in a great environment, nice staff, great service. I loved it, though I ate a little too much, which could be seen as a compliment to the restaurant.
The food is amazing - extremely tasty - and the patio is really nice, but it's really holding all the weight here. Service was extremely slow. I went two days in a row and waited 30+ minutes for a sandwich. If you have time, highly recommend. If you're hoping for lunch to the less than 45 minutes, keep on walking.
Great food & drink ; but smelly at back room area . Remember it's a drinking place more than for food . So throw up will happen & this is probley why . Edited review Been at the budda today covid 19 2020 for lunch sat on front patio, ordered pizza whitch rarely turnes out good not sure why I order it . Not sure on mask rule people being aloud to enter by the droves &people being set to retrieve mask . Need better supervision management needs to check out this situation. Had to wait an extra 1/2 for to enjoy lunch with my wife no discount asked just a sorry it happens Again we will go for drinks but food will be eaten at home or elsewere .O& services was a little slow friandly but slow .gave an 11 dollar tip to serve because he seemed nice .
Superb staff. Awesome drinks and fun time
Great food and atmosphere; one of the few food options in Sudbury that is open past 10pm most nights (but call for winter hours, they weren't posted last time I visited). This place is much larger than your first impression. Walking in it looks like a narrow space with only a few tables and a long bar on the right. What you can't immediately see is the large outdoor patio (summer only) or the large dining room. Each is accessed at the back of the restaurant, past the bar; turn left for patio, right for dining room. As mentioned, the food is very good, but the wait (for your food) can be a longer than expected; keep that in mind if you're pressed for time (lunch hour). Great beer selection (local, national, and international).
Hostess seated us outside & had no one come take any of our orders or bring us drinks after waiting 20 minutes. We brought our menus back to the front hostess & left without her even acknoledging us...
Worst restaurant experience I’ve had in years. My friends and I arrived at 7 p.m. and we were told that there would be a 45 minute wait, which was fine. They were busy, no big deal. We didn’t end up being seated until 9:15 p.m., which meant that we waited over 2 hours just to be seated when we were quoted 45 mins. Mind you they continued to seat other people who arrived after us while we waited. When we finally sat down, the five of us had to squeeze onto a tiny table built for a max of 4 people. Our waitress didn’t seem bothered with us as she was busy talking with her friends at other tables. When she was at our table, we were treated like nuisances rather than paying customers. Once we finally got to order our food at around 10:30, all of our mains came out at different times, and one of my friends’ orders was forgotten about completely, so she ended up eating long after everyone else had finished. The only saving grace this place has is that the food tasted good, which is why I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1. The patio’s atmosphere was ruined by the overwhelming smell of propane that lingered in the corner we were sat in. When we got the bills they were split completely wrong but at that point we had had enough and it wasn’t even worth fixing, we just couldn’t wait to get out of there. It goes without saying that my friends and I will not be returning to The Laughing Buddha any time soon.
I walked in looking for vegetarian food and when I asked about the menu a very rude waitress ignored me, walked away leaving me waiting for over 5 minutes, then returned with a very blunt response then walked away again. I was not offered to be seated, nor made to feel comfortable about this place serving me food. As a potential paying customer I felt very unwelcome and walked away.
I go there all the time. Food is great and decently priced. Great beer and wine selection. Comfortable atmosphere. Service can be a tad rude sometimes but apart from that, Id definitely recommend.
Friendly staff and great food with quick service. We went at 3pm for a late lunch and sat on their COVID appropriate patio.
Menu stated that they could not guarantee the gluten free options would not get cross-contaminated with gluten. We got up and left with out ordering as we didn't want to risk spending the night in the bathroom. If a gluten allergy is not an issue for you I am sure this is a good place to eat but if it is I do not recommend going here. The server was very pleasant for the brief time that we saw her and the atmosphere seemed nice.
Really great food. Neat decor. So vegetarian friendly. Good non-alcoholic drink selection. Definitely recommended.
Food was ok. At best. Not horrible but definitely over priced ($14 for a small sandwich with no side isn’t really acceptable). Pizza was good and probably the most fairly priced. That’s where my positive experience ends. Our server was not great. When my husband asked what they had on tap, she handed him her hand written list to read over himself. We weren’t given menus, i went and got them myself. After she took our order, she didn’t clear the menus. So I returned them myself. The service was slow (as others have mentioned) The saving grace was a tall, slender man who was polite and friendly and brought us water and cleared the plates when our actual waitress was no where to be found.
Probably one of my favourite restaurants to go to when getting together with friends! Friendly atmosphere with down-to-earth staff. Always an enjoyable experience! Nichelle Thomson CAT(C), DOMP, R. Absolutely delicious! Friendly staff and great patio atmosphere! Support local! I had the Dill pickle pizza and 10/10 recommend!
Good food, nice ambience, friendly staff and lots of vegetarian options. Some of it is a little pricey for what you get, but otherwise, I love it here :)
Their patio gets better everytime I'm in town! Great beer selection. Best servers. Their food is almost over-glorified pub food, but some decent menu options.
The food is incredible but let me share my fantastic customer service experience with them. I travel frequently for my job and forgot to ask for an itemized receipt. Some considerable time past until I noticed it but I called them and they were able to get me the itemized receipt and email it to me in less than 10 minutes! Outstanding customer service and got me out of hot water!!
So glad we finally got to try this place. First, I love that they promote art and second, they have a lot of options for many people! We had one vegetarian, one vegan and three carnivores in the group and everyone was able to find delicious options. Pizza is a must, sandwiches are fantastic. I guess the only questionable thing is the app price for sweet potato fries, I could probably buy 10 sweet potatoes for the price of the app and get 5 times the portion. But they were delicious...definitely recommend it :)
Food was decently tasty. Sat in the outdoor patio and there were a few bugs that fell onto our table but that’s to be expected. Nice staff and fairly quick service.
I loved the patio lantern drink, so that's Highly recommend. Also as I am vegetarian I had ordered pizza which was the best, the crust the taste everything was perfect. Loved it. Good service and reasonable price.
I heard a lot about this place and although it was good, it was not exactly what i expected. I had the taco salad. It was made with iceberg lettuce. It looked cheap and would have tasted much better if other lettuce had been used.
Absolutely amazing atmosphere and experience. Ordered a pizza and some jalapeno poppers. All absolutely exquisite. Craft beers and craft whiskey of all kinds. I travel the country for work, and this is by far the best restaurant I have been too, wished I live here. It Rivals Union 613 in Ottawa which was named Top 5 Speakeasy bars by Canadian Business magazine recently.
I go here quite often for a drink and a small bite to eat. It's kind of expensive for what it is at times but the quality is generally good, and the ambiance and decoration makes it a great and interesting place to meet with friends.
I enjoyed my pizza and beer on their outdoor patio. The beer selection was excellent, and the pizza was great. Service was good and prompt. I would be happy to go again.
Excellent place to grab a quick pizza or have a sit down meal. Everything on the menu is delicious and unique. Make sure to ask about the daily pizzas as they can be quite interesting. Never had a bad experience and I would recommend to anyone.
Great food! Thought the order-up alert light was a tad distracting...
The food, atmosphere and service is always great. But we want to highlight our server Fiona who looked after us on August 28, 2021. She was outstanding! Her kind, friendly and very pleasant demeanour made our meal that much more enjoyable. She is a real gem and I hope management appreciates her as much as we (and I’m sure all your customers) do! People like her are worth their weight in gold. Fiona - thank you for making our dining experience so enjoyable and memorable !
Very good place in downtown Sudbury, especially for vegetarian food, which is very rare to find such a good variety of it
Best patio in the city. The food is very tasty and perfect for when you want something fresh & light. The drink menu is definitely pricey though.
We were driving through and friends had recommended stopping. So glad we did! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and an amazing lineup of beer, but alas, we *were* driving. Since the place is known for great pizza, I wanted to try one but something "different". We had the Hala Kahiki Aki pizza with a garlic base, pineapple, caramelized onions, prosciutto, arugula and yes, cashews. Wow. Amazing and very different. Almost makes me wish I lived in Sudbury so I could try a couple more of their choices. I know where we're stopping next time we drive through!
Today sucked. Temp inside was cold. Served ny son wrong sized drinks. Fries in his poutine were cold. Fruit flies flying around and one in my beer.
Decent pizza. I'd pass on the gluten free option...otherwise very ????
I was stuck in Sudbury overnight for work, and rather than eat at some generic chain place, went looking for a local restaurant. After my shocking realisation that Sudbury eateries seem to close at 9pm for some reason, I wandered about until I found Laughing Buddha. Great vibe, cool music. Decided to check it out. I had the Cool Beans appetizer and a Miso Bowl with falafel. Both were excellent in preparation and presentation. I tried a locally brewed beer at the server's recommendation and was quite pleased with that as well. Great atmosphere with pleasant, knowledgeable staff. If you are ever so unfortunate as to find yourself in Sudbury, do check out this sweet little beacon in the gloom!
Walked in with no greeting from 2 bartenders, standing doing nothing. Greeted be hostess that couldn’t be bothered. Entire experience cold. Will not visit again. Thank god for Respect is Burning
I dislike giving establishments 1 star ratings... However this is warranted for this restaurant. Made a reservation and they never called back or did they honored it. Went later when it wasn't busy and the food was average as well as the service. Maybe this was a "one off" situation? However based on this? I cannot recommend Laughing Buddha. Stay clear... Toy have been warned....
They try to be hipster chic but they miss the mark. If you like beer and a patio this is where to go in downtown Sudbury, but if you are health conscious, hipster minded and looking for a restaurant akin to Queen St. Toronto or on the Plateau, Montreal, this isn't it.
A trendy place with delicious food and lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Almost everything on the menu can be substituted to suit your dietary needs including making a meals vegan or gluten free. I would have given it 5 stars but our food took well over an hour and a half to be served.
We had a late night pizza and a nacho plate and the food was fantastic. Pizza was like the stone oven pizzas we've had in Italy and the nachos were classic pub fare with plenty of toppings. Olivia, our server, was fun to talk to and she gave us plenty of help with the menu. This is a great place and we even sat on their sidewalk seating and the weather, atmosphere were perfect after a long summer day. Thanks Olivia, you're the best!
Most beautiful outdoor space to have lunch or dinner in the summer. Their bowls are incredibly fresh and delicious. Highly recommend.
Came here for lunch we sat in the front of the restaurant because we didn't know there was more seating in the back and it was drafty and cold and there was a constant flow of people walking beside our table making it loud. I was excited to eat here because I thought there would be loads of vegan items but the V on the menu represents vegetarian and not vegan so there was less vegan options than I thought. I saw that the falafel dish was vegan so I asked to order it but was told I couldn't until after 3 p.m. The food was kind of bland and over priced ( I had the quinioa salad) to say the least I was underwhelmed, can't say I'd recommend this place for vegans
This place has been a novel experience. The food was delicious, and delivered by a delightful server. The patio was busy, but I was still made to feel comfortable and very welcome. I had the Nachos and was pleasantly surprised by how good it really was.
I've been to this place both times I've visited the area, and the second time I made it a point to go here for awesome food. The first time I visited was in November, and the interior is very home-y while still maintaining a bar atmosphere. The second visit, I was seated in their outdoor area, which was a wonderful change in the summer. They have large umbrellas to shade, and it's a very comfortable stay. Food is second to none, and the quality of products used is baffling for how low the prices are compared to what I expected. Both times, the server taking care of us was great, and I would recommend anyone to give this place a try!
Always good food and great atmosphere
Excellent food and great service. Great for vegans and meat eaters alike. Extensive menu and drinks. Will definitely be back
Had a pizza and got it 1 hour and 45 minutes later as our other family members are still waiting for food as we speak. Pizza was burnt and raw.... Manager did not even come out to address issue. The waitress was working hard and could honesty say she was not at fault. I doubt we will be back. That's 12 very unhappy guest, again very disrespectful. Birthday Party gone bad.
We ordered the FRIED BRUSSELS SPROUTS. Man, it was so crisp and absolutely mouth-watering with that Parmesan & mayo aioli. Then, I had their MISO BUDDHA BOWL. All the toppings were done right, came in good portions, and sauce was delicious. The quinoa was cooked al dente though, so it wasn't fluffy & soft. nice
the food was awesome and our server was very nice. really good vegan options!
Menu is smaller than the drink list. For other people that would be a good thing, but it's not my choice for a lunch. No longer seem to carry the peanut butter and banana sandwich I knew them for. I was told I was unable to upgrade my side salad to a ceasar salad. BUT the pop was cold and wet. The server was helpful and attentive.
I ordered a mushroom dish, it was TERRIBLE. Canned mushrooms (with the water), grated cheese on top, microwaved and served late as a greasy undesirable mess. My friend had the pizza, nothing special. The beer on average is overpriced, but some of them are crazy outrageous. My waitress was terrible, she forgot about me/didn't refill drinks/never checked on us/took an hour just to get our bill. From sitting around just waiting for her, I also have to say that their chairs suck. The atmosphere is alright, I guess; if you like hipster scenes. Also, if you're looking for good meat dishes or any stereotypical dishes (fish &chips, hamburgers) prepare to be greatly disappointed because the menu is as obscure and pretentious as the target clientele.
Always excellent. Had the grilled cheese with onion rings. The banana ketchup was amazing as well!
Very good restauraunt. Looks like a small bar at first but when you walk in deeper youll see the dinning area. Very good service despite the fact that there was only waitress managing at least 50 people. Nonetheless, she kept it very professional and courteous. They also have a good selection of beers. On to the food: the chef made me the wrong pizza, came to our table himself to apologize and offered 50% off on our bill excluding beverage. Very good pizza, very tasty. Would come back again.
I love spending time at the Laughing Buddha. The food is great and there's a good healthy selection of it. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. I like to sit near the windows and watch the trains go back and forth.
Server was horrible, the food took 1 hr to come out (we ordered 1 pizza and 2 dips). The food was great though but the service was awful :(
Great place to eat in Sudbury! We went with a large group of people (18) a mix of kids and adults. We had made reservations. We were all vegetarian and some of us had some allergies. The restaurant catered to all of our needs. Since it was a nice summer evening and with a large group we were seated outside in the back. We started off with nachos and poutine for appetizers. Nachos were great! The poutine was vegetarian with a great tasting gravy. The mains consisted of sandwiches and pizza. The veggie buddha pizza was very delicious with the variety of veggies. All pizzas are personal sized. I had a bon ami banh mi sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sandwich is something everyone should try. It really was delicious and the best thing about it was that the tofu had flavor all the way through. The Sriracha lime veganaise complemented the daikon and other vegetables in the sandwich. I really liked the way they presented the sandwich skewered with toothpick and olives with 2 pickle spears on the side. The fries were great with the banana ketchup which added a unique sweetness. All the food that was ordered came quite quickly we did not have to wait too long. I will definitely eat at this restaurant again when I am back in Sudbury. The only suggestions I have are to make the appetizers bigger. Also to add to the menu another type of entre.
Not really impressed, the patio heaters weren't working and no effort made to fire up a propane heater (there were 6 not in use). Food was ok, had a sandwich. Edit: I have seen the light! Get the pizza! It's not pizza, it's art!!
We ordered the cheese burger pizza. I dont usually like cheese burger pizzas. I usually find them greasy and heavy. But lemme tell you, these guys have cracked the code. We also ordered the deep fried pickles. Both things on there own were good. But with the pickles on the pizza it was a bit of a pickel overload. They have a nice beer selection.
We went to the Laughing Buddha on October 26 2018. We had a reservation at 5pm for 8 people (we called a week in advance). We ordered food at 5:15pm (4 meals, 3 apps as meals, and a salad). By 6:35pm the food had not arrived, and our waitress told us it would be another 10 minutes. Unfortunately we had an event to attend at 7pm, and couldn’t wait around any longer. I understand we were a bigger table, however, we ordered everything early, we made a reservation, and 3 people at our tables ordered and appetizer as a meal, and one salad. I love supporting local restaurants, however, this is the second time this has happened. Although they gave us $10 cards for our waiting time, we left without dinner. Will definitely be thinking twice before going back.
Best caesar salad ever, even though romaine lettuce wasn't used because of the tainted lettuce. They used mixed greens...Fabulous!!! Love the atmosphere and service!
Nice spot. Very nice patio and inside decor. The drink selection is great. Downside: food portions are small for the price you have to pay. $14 for a pretty small sandwich that's about 5-6 bites and that doesn't include a side. Had to pay extra for fries. I'd still go back for sure, but probably just for drinks
Great range of beers! Falafel wrap had to be the best I have had! Funky style and great service You can tell the locals visit here quite a lot
Did a quick food stop in Sudbury while driving back to Toronto from Lake Superior Provincial Park and The Laughing Buddha didn’t disappoint. The design of the restaurant is pretty cool, especially their patio, and the food was amazing. I didn’t have any beers but I noticed they have a sweet craft beer selection. Good craft beer spots that have good food are hard to find so kudos to the Buddha. The service was a bit slow tho, must be because they offer a lot of vegan stuff and that slows down the kitchen. Kidding lol
Came in from Toronto and discovered laughing Buddha. The tomato soup was delicious and salmon sandwich was awesome. French fries were perfect! Will definitely hit this place up again when in town.
Excellent food..but too bad we were unaware you need to reserve a spot on the patio..but now we know for next time :)
What a downtown gem. Wonderful use of a historic building. Love the menu, the staff and let's not forget all the beer choices.
Service is incredibly slooooow... we had a reservation, it still took 35 minutes to get our beer. We were told ONE full hour that our EXPRESS lunch would take another 40 minutes. Lousy practice, half of us cancelled our order, i feel bad for our waitress, who will miss out on tips. One star is one star too many.
Excellent food, great service, and the perfect patio. We've only had the vegetarian cuisine; however, everything we've had has been delicious and fresh. Laughing Buddha also has an interesting and diverse beer menu. Highly recommended.
Really enjoyed our experience and our waiter was fantastic Amazing good, yummy drinks. Looking forward to our next trip to Sudbury so we can eat there again.
We have tried this restaurant on 3 separate occasions. Last visit will be our last. To start, hostess forgot our name on waitlist. Then, lunch took 45 minutes to arrive at our table. Server offered complimentary desert, but a server on her game would have offered app on house due to wait ahead of our 2 enquiries as to where our order was. Food is great but service is poor due to slow kitchen. Time to try many other restaurants opening in Sudbury. Bye bye Buddha!
My cousin, Elizabeth Bald works here. Writing this for her, so she gets more tips. I've never been, and I live out of town anyways, but from what everyone says, it's good.
Always a good atmosphere and the food is delicious, no matter what you order. Love sitting outside on the patio, especially on a beautiful warm Summer's evening!
Awesome drinks and food. The caesar (drink) was really good, appetizers from good as well, and the pizza was decent. I found the sauce on the BBQ chicken pizza way to sweet though.
Very tasty food, the summer drinks were great. Its worth a visit if you are in Sudbury. A great ambiance, excellent service and great food.
This is second time its happening last time also when i came with my friends service was ridiculous not sure why ? (All other people receive service with smile but us second time not) i dont wanna say it but we r the only brown people in the restaurant. They would expect tip but how could you expect tip just for dumping food at the table with nothing spical. JUST TO CLARIFY THIS TIME OUR SERVER WITH BIG GLASSES WAS REASONABLY NICER THAN LAST TIME :) This time we asked for the pitcher or virgin mojito and in reply we received (bar tender is too busy to make a virgin drink ) Servers are nice nothing special but they are not rude
Excellent service and food and they followed distancing and it wasn't crowded love it
Holiday drinks are so yummy
My family was on the wait list for a table for 1/2 hour, then we saw others just walk up and be seated. Hostess said “Oh are you on a wait list? We can seat you now. Oops, actually no, your kids are too young they can’t come in.” Don’t waste your time like we did.
Food was amazing , highly recommend this place was phenomenal.
Fine pizza, I'll come back, but nothing too special. Casual atmosphere, fine service. An average place for pizza and a beer personal pizza and a beer w/ tip will run you about $22
After my girlfriend and I tried to find a table at 3 other locations last night we came across Laughing Buddha. It's nice and intimate setting was perfect. The staff was on point. Our server Fiona was so friendly and approachable and just helpful she made our night something special. Even as far as going and asking for the bartender to make us a surprise fun shot which was delicious. The fried mushrooms were phenomenal and the jalapeno poppers were a delight. We ran through a few of the different fun cocktails and just had an amazing night. Especially when Fiona overheard us talking about seeing the fire tables at the other places and immediately brought us to their Fire Table and just make the night even more epic. Then when she had a moment to breath we asked her to sit with us and we chatted a bit and the night was just so much extra amazing I'm actually at a loss for words to describe it in any more glorious terms. Loved it. Will definitely be back for sure.
Ordered our dinner specials (filet mignon) and sandwiches which were delicious. Staff were superb and super friendly. Another round of local beers and off to our hotel for a good sleep and travel onwards the next day. Thanks to the Laughing Buddha for making our day, from the weary travellers from BC
Delicious gluten-free pizza! I ordered the mushroom pizza and shared their hand-cut fries. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options as well. Beautiful outdoor garden patio in the back. Our service was very slow to bring our food (over an hour wait), that is why I'm not giving 5 star.
A truly amazing food experience! We shared a falafel wrap and one of their pizzas. Both were great, but the pizza stole the show! I have to say that this was one of the best pizzas I have every had, and I have been to renowned pizza places, such as Pizzeria Bianco (voted best pizza joint in the USA, with 2 hour wait lines, no less!). Looking forward to going back to try other menu items. Their menu is diverse enough to satisfy most cravings, with an excellent selection of vegetarian and vegan options as well. Their beer menu is pretty good too.
Good nachos and bree, most other appetizer items are not worth the price. Had a waitress that left us for ten minutes when we sat down. Another waitress visibly annoyed with her asked if we'd seen her yet and brought us menus. When she finally showed up to take our drinks she forgot her notepad and ran off to find it. Came back and said she forgot her pen and ran off again. I dont know what she used the notepad for because she ended up grabbing food for a table the other waitress was serving anyway. After insisting the food was ours she took off with one of the apps to talk to the kitchen. The other waitress eventually came and grabbed the food and served it to her table. When our food finally came after being there for almost 70 minutes we had olives on our nachos which we didn't want. I wanted to tip the other waitress who she was screwing over but my girlfriend said that was too rude. The only saving grace for the meal was getting to watch the other waitress get quadruple sat with dirty tables and work her but off so that no one in her section waited. It was like oh, so good service is possible here haha!
One of the few places in Sudbury that has a great vegetarian menu. There is something for everyone including carnivores! Great selection of brews and food.
Food was great! Love their patio.
Take-out experience - Overpriced, small portions and not very flavourful. One of the sandwiches ordered was missing ingredients and the side of sour cream ordered and charged was not included. Very disappointing after seeing such great reviews.
Came with a group of 3 families and was turned down because we were "too big of a group", there was 14 of us. Looking in the restaurant it was more than half empty and even had 4 empty tables right in front of us. Not sure if they were being racist (we're all asain) but sure felt like it.
Buddha LITE beer and Kettle chips are the bomb! Great service every time!
I placed an order for takeout and it was misconstrued on their end. The woman I spoke to from management was completely incompetent and did not care a shred about positive customer experiences. I would not order again due to the rudeness and condescending tone in dealing with their own mistake. I suggest the company considers leadership classes for their management staff.
Only patios can be open at this time. That makes the Laughing Buddha an ideal place to go out as they do have a quite substantial patio. Food and drinks are good, too.
Pizza and salad was incredible! Excellent selection of draught. Service was awesome. I loved the style of the place.
So staff was great but the had assured me that there pizza was gluten and dairy free. I am now very sick havin not eaten out any where else or really anything since dinner last night. The gluten free pizza was truly the worst I have had and have tried many. It was what most people joke and imagine gluten free food to be. Honestly I wouldn't mind that much if it tasted bad but to taste bad and make me ill is horrible. I asked many times and was assured there was no issues with cross contamination and told them I have a true auto immune disorder not just a intolerance or preference. Short of it is normal food might be good but persons will allergies beware this is not a safe place!!
Cool paintings on the wall. Ordered Caprese sandwich with yam fries, fried pickles, and the weekly pizza. The pizza crust was really thin and crispy.
Lovely atmosphere at night, good service, good sangria...pretty fun time watching the mice play on the brick wall... until one landed on my shoulder...????♂️
Lots of health conscious foods on the menu. Bistro type food. Great selection of beer and other spirits. Outdoor areas in good weather. Serves alcohol, no under aged in the evening.
The Food has an amazing flavor and the server was wonderful!
Bad service! Waiter recommended a beer, the beer tasted like garbage and he still charged me for it! Sorry but I expected ginger raspberry beer to taste like ginger and/or raspberry NOT like a can of stale OV. Not to mention that the server was inattentive. The white white sangria tasted like watery wine and old lemons. Too bad the drinks and service don't match the pretty patio. Every time I come here I wonder why, I suppose the only draw is that my husband and I met at this pretentious establishment.
Excellent experience. We were a little worried when the hostess took through the restaurant and out this side door but then it opened up into this amazing outdoor patio. We loved the experience, the food and drinks were excellent. Highly recommend this restaurant. Looking forward to our next visit.
Wasn't sure if id like this type of restaurant, but was it ever great food , excellent service. I'd def go back again.
The breakfast here is extremely good limited options but the options are exceptional. Vegan options as well. Dinner is just as good here with a very nice patio and plenty of dinner options.
We were a group of 10 that had a reservation in advance of arriving. Since it was a beautiful day/night we sat outside on the patio. This place reminded us of a Toronto Queen St. diner as it had an eclectic vibe to it. The service was great and friendly. Our group ordered pizza's, salads and one sandwich. Everyone was pleased with the food and I enjoyed a local craft beer from Manitoulin Island. One comment that hit home was from my sister commenting on the train traffic going by across the street. We grew up with that sound in Copper Cliff and while some might find it annoying it was comforting to us. All we needed was the 10:55pm blast from the mine below and it would have been just like 1972 all over again! A musician was setting up just as we left so will return to listen next time. Overall a great experience, highly recommended!
Terrible staff, feels like racism is their top priority than good service.
Awesome place, really cool patio and vibe. Almost like Kensington in Toronto.
Just went there today evening (September 8th) and is filled with mice, no kidding! saw like 8 different ones running between peoples feet. Beware about it. Told the bar tender, said she knew about it but it was outside so nothing they could do about it, so they think the mice don't come in???
Awesome food, atmosphere, service and beers on tap - definitely want to go back and try more and the patio in the summer. Lots of Vegan and vegetarian goodies too!
Awesome atmosphere. The food quality is outstanding, staff is always friendly and fun. Great place for casual night out or for a more slow dinner.
Really nice atmosphere and good food. The staff were all really friendly. It wasn't too crowded during week nights.
The outdoor patio was lovely. The service was amazing. The food was utterly terrific - I ordered a weird gorgonzola salad and it was top notch. A true 5-star experience. Hell yes I'll go back.
Holy Moses. This pizza is off the chart, wood-fired and all. Llama Rama and Leo Luigi were especially tasty. Came here thinking it'd be a thai/vegetarian/tofu place (from the name) and were pleasantly surprised. Good international beer selection, though they seemed to be out of most of their local brews.
This is my favourit lunch spot! You have to love the Bahamian style and fresh eats. It doesn't matter if you are gluten free, vegan, vegiterian or a meataterian. There is something here for all foodies!!! Not to mention they carry a huge selection of top shelf liquors and one of the largest beer selections in town. During our warmer days you can enjoy your meal or drink in their beautifully lit patio. This is a great place for everyone. The staff make sure your experience is pleasant and go the extra mile to make any celebration special.
Amazing food, staff, and environment! My friends and I went to Sudbury and further north for vacation this past summer and it was by far the best restaurant we went to along the way! The trees growing the deck in the back, the rustic appeal, and the strings of light all added to the great food and kind staff! Can't wait to go back!
Meh. Heard so many good things about this place and was greatly dissapointed. It wasn't a very busy night, the service was beyond slow. Took ten minutes for our drinks to arrive. The fries were cold, the sandwich depended way to much on the thick layer of pesto for its flavour, and the salad was drenched in dressing. Don't get the hype, won't be wasting my money here again.
Simply the best place to go for an awesome meal and a wide variety of drinks. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff are top notch.
Had a spicy casear that was very heavy on the pickle juice. The hostess sat me at the bar upstairs (with garage doors open on either side) when I requested the warmest spot? Probably best to go here in a group, the atmosphere seemed good, but they weren't very inviting to me visiting alone.
Great service. Great food. Prices are reasonable. Nice patio to chill. The Buddha pizza is my fav.
Had a crazy good experience with the food and customer service. Would definitely recommend to anyone for any occasion
Food is good! Drinks are good! Music is way too loud… couldn’t have a conversation at the table… after asking several times to lower it “just a little!”… but it does have a unique vibe!
Went last Friday night and requested a recommendation on a nice sweet drink and the bartender with grey hair said he knows how to make over 900 drinks and doesn't have time to think of a drink to recommend. Mind you there were two bartenders and only two other customers at the bar at the time. Surely if you know how to make so many drinks it shouldn't be a problem to recommend a couple good ones. Terrible service overall. Learn to multitask better, and work on your customer service skills.
Didn't have a great experience. As the service was terrible and slow, we were also told to remove our daughters sippy cup as it was not allowed and had to be removed. I would have understood if the bottle wasn't purple bottle with owls on it or evidently a child's this was completley unacceptable as there were other families there with water bottles for their children. The waitress with the red large earrings working at the bar as we were leaving also showed no interest in serving our table and had a bad attitude. Will not recommend and would not return.
